Viking Professional Stainless Steel Double Oven FIRE - Chatting with company, I started preheating oven. In about 15 minutes a small explosion and fire broke out in the oven. In a shocked panic I turned off the oven and grabbed the baking soda. If I hadnt been still in the kitchen chatting, this event would of burned down my house. I called my insurance and they said they would not cover the oven because the house did not burn down. Called Viking and they acted matter of fact like this is an everyday occurrence with their customers and told me to call an authorized repairman. Five hundred dollars later and a lot of elbow grease, it works again but the experience was very frightening!

If you are considering a Viking appliance RUN away as fast as you can! This is the 3rd built in refrigerator/freezer I’ve had installed and what a nightmare it’s been working with the Viking company! Awful to say the least. This 3rd built in was installed 5 years ago and now both voltage boards have died. The serviceman just told me that one of the boards, the main one that runs everything, is on back order! Oh how I’ve been down this road before with Viking when they installed the 2nd piece of crap that did the exact same thing but only after 2 months of having it installed. It took over 3 months of pulling my hair out before I had a refrigerator/freezer that worked. Because that same board was on back order and they didn’t know when it would be available and because it was under warranty I demanded a new refrigerator/freezer as that’s why a 3rd one was installed. I wrote the company explaining all the problems and grief I went through and asked for an extended warranty. I received a letter from Viking telling how sorry they were about all the problems but SORRY we cannot extend the warranty. I received NO compensation from this ** hole of a company! They truly DON’T care about their customers!!! Run I say, RUN. Can’t wait to see how long it will take before I have a working refrigerator/freezer again!

The refrigerator makes some funny noises and Im a little concerned about how it would work if I ever have to have it repaired. But its not an issue that affects the cooling of the unit so its no big deal. For now, its working great and its aesthetically nice. Its a big block of steel and its pretty imposing. Its a good product.

I have been using Viking products for a couple years now. However, one of the things that I’m having a problem with, and this is the second kitchen we put in, is it seems like every time I buy Viking, it comes in broken. Last 2012, we did the kitchen and the refrigerator came in and they had no compressor. I told them to take it back, but they wouldn’t take it back. So, I bought a rebuilt. They can fix it, but I tested that and then I was like okay. I supposed it was just bad luck. And then this time, I used it and the refrigerator came in broken again. So, I have a broken refrigerator there with the door that is not working. Then, they got to come back and then the dishwasher got a bulk. As soon as the guy came out, I’m like, “What is wrong with you guys? Every time I get something from you guys, is it just my bad luck or what?” Out of four appliances, two of them broke. That is ridiculous. I also said that we do our kitchen every four years and I’m doing a kitchen down in Florida. That was to start this month and I’m behind and I told him I can’t be bringing in stuff that I know I got a way to get it fixed and I’m not there. I said I can’t do this. Nevertheless, everything else looks good. The Viking dealer was fine.

Viking Ranges is all over and I know it’s a very good range so I went with them. Im happy with its quality and I like their six burners. Also, I’ve never had a gas oven so I’m happy with that too. The people I bought the range from was Ferguson, and I had some issues when it was delivered. There was a part where the oven door shut and we couldn’t get the light to go off. I had to call Ferguson, then they had to notify Viking so they could come out and fix it. It was evidently a factory flaw. It took about a couple of days to get someone out. Nonetheless, I had an excellent experience. I would encourage my friends to seriously consider purchasing Viking appliances.

I guess I am not the only one with this problem as I read the comments!! Has anyone found a solution? I have had a repair man out here 3x and it keeps happening. The coils freeze, the floor of the freezer has a 1/2 inch frozen solid water and water leaks out onto my hardwood floors. If this is obviously a problem why are they not fixing them??????? I had a Subzero in my other home for 20 years and this never happened!!! So during this beautiful Sunday Im inside scraping ice and cleaning up water. Someone has to be accountable.

Have problems with this since 2008, with the little square pipes that connect from the refrig section down into the freezer freezing up solid with ice. When this happens the refrigerator warms up as it cuts the circulation from the freezer to the refrigerator. I have tried modifying the ducts to no avail... This is a crappy design, never seen anything like this. Ive had GE appliances that are almost 50 years old that never ice up... The VIKING is defrosting, but it looks like the cycle is too short to warm the ducts properly - either they should be tied physically to the coil for warming or changed to teflon so ice wont stick....ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET DATA OR SERVICE BULLETINS from VIKING, and their STAFF are clueless.... These appliances are of such poor quality, how do they manage to market this junk? Class Action? Consumers Reports?? Someone needs to shake these guys up.... The basic design is good but the product delivery is awful...

My wife went to a showroom and saw a Viking refrigerator and liked it. We got our Viking a year ago and I like the shelving. However, our experience with the team at the actual Viking dealer wasn’t great. They didn’t do a good installation, so we had to have a different team back out to re-install it. Also, when I made my warranty claim, I found out that the unit had not been registered with Viking. But when I went back on the invoice, I saw that I had paid a $4.00 fee for them to register it. I probably wouldn’t buy from this place again, although it’s not Viking’s fault but the dealer’s.I have a warranty claim that Viking is working on because when the power is interrupted, the refrigerator sometimes doesn’t come back on automatically. If they can get that fixed, then it’s a good piece of equipment. If that can’t get fixed or if that’s a design defect in the equipment, then I’m not going to be really happy about it. Nevertheless, I was really impressed with the way Viking handled the warranty claim. It turned out that I called them a day or two after the one-year anniversary of the purchase date, yet they were very nice about it and they said it wasn’t going to be a problem. He could have said that I was one day outside of my one-year warranty period, so they were not going to do it, but they didn’t say that.

I have an electric oven from Viking Ranges and it works okay. They had somebody who was very good at installing it. The only thing is we have a little problem with taking one of the racks out in the oven. We have no problem with the others and we can pull them out all the way. We have a problem with holding one of them and we thought maybe were doing something wrong. If I cant figure it out, Im going to call somebody to look at it because I have insurance on it.But other than that, I like it. I like that I can go off to the other side on the top and that I could move from one area to another easily. I like that its apple red because I dont like the stainless steel which is so hard to clean. I also like the way the knobs are covered from the top and its size. I like everything about it. My friend also has a Viking and she only has broil and regular bake on it. I like the simpler one but mine has all these other options that Im working on how to figure it out. I recommend it and I already had to a friend because of my experience in New Hampshire.

We were in the market for something above the ordinary so we went and looked at a Viking range at some of the appliance stores and it certainly was. It was really what we wanted. The dealers did everything we could have expected and more. My neighbors came into the house and said, “Ooh.” Everybody’s in awe of it because they’re expensive. But it’s a beautiful appliance. My favorite feature of the range is the convection-cook part. I bake in that so much more even than a convection oven. All the burners are nice and even the burner liner on them. I recommend this appliance. I would do it again and wouldn’t look anywhere else because I love it.

I got a range, a dishwasher, a microwave, and a refrigerator from Viking. But Im not happy with any of them. I had a problem with the burners of the range. Its really easy to move the igniter if youre cleaning it and when you take the ring off. But if you move the igniter too close, it wont ignite. You have to bend it back into place. I had to bend it back in place initially to get it to work. Also, the finish on the grills that come with it on the top came off on it in four months. I called Viking and figured they would send me a new one. But they said it was not covered and that it was cosmetic. These things are supposed to be pretty sweet. In general, I’m super disappointed in the fact that it’s 10 grand on a package and I’m not happy with any of the units.

Weve been having a lot of problems with our refrigerator. From the beginning, the freezer side would not seal properly and we couldnt figure out why. The contractor took a look at the door and he realized that the seal thing was disconnected. It took them three or four weeks to get the part here to get it fixed and meanwhile, our freezer was working really hard but that got fixed. But from the get-go, our fridge has been super loud. At first, we thought it was because the cabinet up above was a little loose. We tightened that cabinet up and the fridge is still super loud. Were still going back and forth with Wiking and it is not resolved. Its just a bunch of escalation to somebody who doesnt call back. The people are very nice at Viking but nothing has really been accomplished. Its not the right fridge to buy for $10,000. We should have bought a different fridge.

My Viking refrigerator is fine and its quality is very good. But its size is a little bit small and there is less space in there with the kind of depth it has. Also, its freezing at the top part of my refrigerator when I put things up there. The serviceman said he had to order a part and he was supposed to come back and replace it, so Im waiting. I previously owned a Viking when we remodeled my kitchen. I really liked the product, but not this time around. Everything that weve ordered, theres been something wrong with it. It took us six to eight months just to receive the product because it was on back order. And then when we received it, it was damaged. We had to deal with the company we bought it from going back and forth, and it took another four months to get the replacement. They kept pushing the buck. I kept getting transferred, making calls and I wouldn’t get a callback. It was poor customer service. I love the older Viking, but I dont like the new one. Its not the same quality. My old range was great to cook on and bake on. The one I have now sometimes turns on, and sometimes it doesnt. Also, my refrigerator has been down since before Christmas and the parts have not come. I had to throw all my groceries away. So, Ive had nothing but bad luck. I just finished talking to Viking yesterday to find out how soon I can get my stuff, and the gal was very nice and helpful. And shes pushing things forward, so I really appreciate that. But I would not recommend Viking.

I purchased a Viking 30 electric cooktop Model RVEC3305BSB. It was installed and after they left, I turn on the stove to cook. One of the lights remained ON indicating that the heating element is HOT when the stove is not even on (the light stayed on since then, and it still on). I called Viking and they send someone to fix the issue. The guy said they had to order the part and it was going to take a week. His words hopefully thats the issue, if its not then Viking will switch it for another one. I called to get the status and this time they said 10 days! I called Viking to complain and they said it was expedited to a week. It is not what I expected from a brand like Viking. I’ve heard of the Viking brand over the years and when I was redoing my kitchen I found them at Best Buy. I liked a few of the features and I was trying to buy a cheaper brand. But the main item I wanted was more of the double oven which has side doors like a baker’s oven. The oven was very nice however, I was a bit concerned about the cooktop because I can’t seem to find the right cook temperature. When you turn that on, you put it on really high and it heats up fast because it’s induction. I can’t seem to get used to it and I’m having a hard time getting used to the different burners. I either get stuff too hot or it doesn’t get hot enough. For what I spent for the whole kitchen, I’m not overwhelmed with all the quality. The refrigerator and the stove are very nice. The refrigerator doors open and close and keep the food cold. It’s very expensive though. But some of their other appliances are not up to par. The cook-tops should work better. I think it was a brand new design and with this induction, it’s a little tricky to use and it was very difficult to get service. I had to call up and they had to give me a company that would give me service. When I called, I was told that it will be a month and a half before they can come out. I called and tried another company and then I was able to arrange for them to come out a week and a half. Usually, with that kind of money, I should be able to get service in the same week, not two and three weeks for you to use outside service companies. That was a little disappointing. I would have expected better customer service. Furthermore, they offer rebates for buying certain things and I have to beg to get my rebates. With the amount of money I spent and with the company as big as Viking, I shouldn’t have to do that. It took weeks upon weeks and then they said I didn’t have the right serial number. They made me run through hoops and I had to wait and keep calling and finally, I got the money. We’re talking $1,400. All in all, I shouldn’t have a problem with the rebate nor getting serviced. I think the equipment set would be working a little bit better for the amount of the money I spent. I’m a little disappointed in the dishwasher but they told me that there’s not much they can do.

And I figured if I ever remodel, I’d look at them again, which I did. And I bought a whole Viking kitchen. I dealt with their distributor Elite Appliance, and they were really great. Brian, the sales guy, was really good, very detailed and he answered all my questions. I got a great price and we bought the refrigerator, the 36-inch stove and I ended up getting the Viking dishwasher for free. So, that was a plus. The refrigerator has been installed and we’ve been using it for about three weeks now. I like it a lot. I like that it’s got a lot of lighting in it when I open it up. And the separate drawers for different temperature controls seems to work well. It’s counter-depth and it’s got a lot of room in it. I also like the lower drawer freezer and the sliding shelf. And now, I got an icemaker that works again, so I like that too.

I am a general contractor and custom home builder and also own a remodeling company. We are in the building business and one of our primary vendor reps here in North Carolina is Appliance World. We do quite a bit of business with them and the relationship from them and getting to know them is how we heard about Viking. We have a client that goes through the design process and they are assisted by Appliance World with the selection of their appliances. We work with them four days a week with our clients visiting their location. Theyve obviously stood behind Viking and have a showroom and merchandising set up. Recently they downsized their showroom and kept the Viking line pretty prominent with still having 10 or 15 other lines. We bought about $20,000 worth from Viking the last couple of months and so far, so good. The registration online is great. From a consumer standpoint, some of the information can be hard to extrapolate from the website. For selling $8,000 to $40,000 refrigerators, there could be some better photos and better highlights of what makes the company different. That market has become quite crowded and most folks have some brand loyalty, whether its Sub-zero or Dacor or some of the others. Viking could do a better job of letting the consumer know via the website what those features and benefits are and where variance is between them and the next guy.

I have a Viking freezer and a refrigerator and I haven’t been really pleased with either one of them. Ive had the refrigerator for eight years and it was the refrigerator of the home that I built. The problem Im having now is the coolant and there was some defrosting in it. The technicians had replaced it and tore this thing apart, but Viking sent them a defective part. When the technicians found out about it, they had already drained all the stuff out of the refrigerator and started putting it back together. The refrigerator has been down for a week now. We’ve been looking for parts for three months and it’s just not been a good thing. The refrigerator door doesn’t close right and the guy was trying to work on that too. The freezer seal has always been an issue as far as the white trim and we’ve replaced that a couple times. The refrigerator itself is fine, but as far as the room goes and the expenses, I’ve had a lot of difficulty with it and the freezer. Ive had the ice maker repaired and its been a terrible experience. I don’t think I’d buy another Viking. If someone asks me about them, Id tell them not to get a Viking.

We chose Viking because we just built a house and we wanted all the appliances to be the same. And we’ve made contact with an appliance company and they had a package with the three - the oven, dishwasher and refrigerator. The quality of the appliances is terrible. It was absolutely horrendous and we would never recommend, per our experience, Viking appliances again. We had three, now we have two Viking appliances, which caused an astronomical amount, and every one of the three appliances had defects and issues. We are superiorly disappointed in the quality of the appliances for the amount that they cost. The hinges are broken on our range. They had to replace the fan on our oven. The latch on the dishwasher is broken. The door was damaged. They had to replace the door on our dishwasher. I don’t know if that happened in shipping or not, on the dishwasher. But all three of our appliances have had issues. Our refrigerator was so bad that they had to take it out and replace it with a different brand completely. Our Viking fridge had a stainless finish and it looked like dimples on a golf ball on all the doors. They replaced them three different times, and every single time that they replaced them, it was the same exact thing. It’s definitely a defect in manufacturing. What happens is that they spray the foam insulation in there, and when it dries, it adheres to all over on the stainless steel backing and it sucks it in and it makes it look dimpled like a golf ball. They came out and replaced the doors three different times. They got the Viking representative involved and they said, “We’re gonna send you brand new ones from the factory.” When they came and installed them, those ones looked worse than the ones before. The appliance company felt so bad that they said, “We’re going to replace your Viking Refrigerator with a GE Café.” And that refrigerator is absolutely beautiful.

20 years ago we went with a Vulcan, a true industrial appliance and after years with that, we decided that we wanted something more refined. Viking Ranges features and design fit what we wanted so we bought it. I wish it was more affordable but we love it. I have three favorite features of the range. One is the thermostatic griddle because that was one of the big things that the Vulcan did not have. We had the combination broiler griddle so we had to manually manage the temperature on the griddle, which was a ridiculous amount of effort. Thus we didnt use it much. Having the thermostatic griddle now makes it very usable because it makes it simple - turn it on, set the temperature, wait 10 minutes and cook. Another favorite feature is the convection. I use it almost all the time. The last one is actually an accessory but I do really like it and thats having the wok grate. There was one defect with the range and we worked through the dealer that we bought it from and it was good. They thought at first that it was a defective grease trap so they just sent out a replacement. When that didnt fit, they decided to look a little closer. In the end, it turned out that the griddle assembly was not welded together properly, thus the reason that the grease trap didnt fit. The problem was addressed and weve had no other issues.

I bought a Viking refrigerator due to the warranty on it. It works fine and I like its aesthetic features. However, I dont like the filters since they need to be replaced more often than I would like. Also, I made superficial dents in the bottom freezer drawer. It’s not noticeable, but I have to replace that single front panel so that I could get rid of it. The panel costs $1,650, which is more than half the cost of the entire refrigerator. Viking uses an outside manufacturer for that piece, and they’re ripping anybody who needs to replace that because they figured they need it. Its absolutely absurd and highly annoying that it’d cost that much money to fix the little dent.

I got a whole kitchen package two years ago. Ive had some things break on them but every time Ive called, Ive had great customer service under the warranty in getting items replaced. So, its never been the issue. My husband and I put houses for a living and we decided to put Viking in one of our high end properties that we do. When we went to the International Builders Show, we stumbled upon the owner who was speaking at the first day to a group of people and were intrigued by his speech. So, we decided to solicit the package about trying to improve the quality of the product. Viking is comparable to Wolf but Wolf is still slightly ahead as far as quality. I have a 60-inch range, refrigerator, dishwasher and hood and theyre all Viking. I like the griddle in the range but I hate the indoor barbecue. I wish I had the double griddle. If I could switch it out, I would. So, that was my huge mistake but its fine. I just dont use it because its too much of a mess.

In retrospect, I wanted everything Viking. I bought a self-standing range, a big electric French door oven, and a fridge. The dealer was nice and my experience was very good. The features of the Viking Range were better. The power of the gas from the top range is terrific and Im very happy with it. I also love the features of the oven, but I had some issues with the set. The doors didnt close well so they had to come back and close the doors, so I was partly happy with it. However, Im not super satisfied with the brand new fridge. The ice machine was not working and they had to come back. For the price Ive paid for it, Im not happy with that. Its working okay now, but it took a while.

So far, Im very pleased with the Viking gas range six burner that I purchased. I like the reliability of the range. As far as the oven, I like the quality and the fact that when I open one of the French doors with one hand, they both open. My only concern was the knobs on the range didn’t match the French door oven. The French door oven has the stainless knobs and my range has dark, smoky, shiny knobs. I was trying to get those changed out and I was told by my dealer that Viking wouldn’t change those out for me. Nonetheless, their reps were great. They did everything they could to help this be a good experience. So, I’m very pleased with them. I just wish I had better knobs. I would love to be able to change them so that they match.

I never write reviews, but if I had known what I know now about VIKING, I would have gone with another brand and saved myself a lot of headache, as well as future ones Im sure to develop due to ALL my kitchen appliances being VIKING. We buy high-end products. Why? Because these products are usually well made and come with excellent customer service, but not VIKING!!! Our oven just stopped working. We paid $200 for an outside technician to come take a look... twice, because VIKING failed to tell them the first time that this was a recall issue. Needless to say, we are now going into month 5 of not having a working stove! Numerous calls and all we get is the same runaround. Part on backorder, will send out as soon as its in. Takes 4 months for VIKING to get a part that was recalled by them! So no stove for who knows how much longer... a year! Never again will I buy a VIKING product!

This is my email to Middleby Residential who own Viking: Hello, On 7/19/2016, I purchased the following appliances for a total price of $42,500: 1-Viking Professional 7 Series VGR7488BSS 48; Wide 24; Deep Natural Gas Range, 1-Viking VCFB5363LSS 36; Professional 5 Series Upright Freezer with 19.2 cu. ft. Electric Warming Drawer with Temperature SE, 1-Viking Professional 7 VDOF730SS 30 French Door Electric Double Wall Oven with 9.4 cu., 1-Viking RVM320SS 24; Wide 2.0 cu. ft. Microwave Oven with 16; Diameter Turntable, 2-Viking VDW302SS 24; 3 SERIES Energy Star Fully Integrated Dishwasher with 14 PLACE, 1-Viking VRCO5240DRSS 24; Outdoor Series Undercounter Beverage Center with 5.3 cu. ft.I chose Viking because of its reputation as an elite brand and their strong commitment to customer service, even though lesser brands seemed to offer more gadgets for less. My hope was that a big investment in appliances would mean less maintenance headache down the line and the Viking name will preserve the resale value for my house. Unfortunately, Ive had nothing but trouble since. Ive had multiple issues with the fridge (4 axial fans replaced, Defrost terminator replaced, defective bolt in fridge door replaced), the freezer (rust on the ice drawer), both dishwashers (electronic card/display already replaced on one and currently needs replacement on the other, Diverter valve replaced on the other), the microwave (electronic card/display currently needs replacement. It is worth mentioning that the appliances werent in use until late January 2017 since the house was still under construction. When all these issues started, Ive contacted your customer service number and was referred to one of your certified repair services, Executive Appliance Service in Garden Grove, CA. They can confirm all the issues mentioned above as they made NUMEROUS service calls to my house. I was about to call them again to replace the electronic display for both the dishwasher & the microwave when I realized that the amount of times Ive had to service those appliances is excessive & abnormal. Ive had to purchase a very basic appliance package for a guest house at the same time Ive purchased the Viking package and I havent had a single issue with them.Thats why I decided to to share my concerns with you and ask what could be done for me. Did I purchase what would be called a lemon in car terminology? Can you send someone to take a look at them? How can you help me with all the issues I mentioned & restore my trust in your brand? Thank you very much for your help & understanding. Looking forward to receiving your response.Their response was to cover parts only for the dishwasher. They wouldnt do anything about the microwave and said that rust inside the freezer is a cosmetic issue therefore would only give me %15 off their ice drawer which came out to $218.37. When I said that Id want them to cover parts and labor for the dishwasher & microwave, they refused. The appliances I purchased are most definitely defective. There are many similar complaints on the Better Business Bureau website. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST!

We were looking at gas range at the store and Viking was the one that we liked. It's made here in America and the quality is good. My favorite feature is the conventional oven. But when you open the oven, it has a metal sticking out that if you clean it, you'll be able to feel it and it may be dangerous. You can cut your finger. We didn't realize this until my mom was trying to clean it. So I've been trying to get them to come out and see if they can fix it, but I haven't heard from them.

Viking, you SUCK. 3+ months with a $3,000+ fridge that was delivered broken and all the local warranty reps you outsource to are saying is Viking switched its distributor two times so you will have to wait longer? How about some lemon laws here. I called Viking directly and the brain dead receptionists can not get me to the right person. Why? Because they cant fathom why someone with a California phone number lives in Texas. Gee, if you want to be elite Viking, you might want to consider that your customers have multiple homes in other areas. I regret buying a Viking Dishwasher (POS does not even have heated dry), Viking Range (delivered broken), Viking Microwave (over priced Kitchen Aid) and Viking D3 Fridge (Broken on Delivery). I have yet to get a customer service rep to call me back. No one is empowered to make a decision. I will be buying Wolf/SubZero next time.

When we bought the house, we requested for Viking appliances. We wanted to get the big 42-inch refrigerator but our realtor failed to tell us at the last minute that they ordered a 36-inch model instead. But even though its not the model I liked, I love its quality. The aesthetics, as far as the door hinges, doesn’t get in my way. It was well-thought out and well-engineered. I also like the option that the temperature is different in certain compartments. However, I dont like the freezer part. As far as the stovetop, we had a choice in that. We got the eight-burner stove and it is phenomenal. It also has a conventional oven built in. All in all, I like Vikings appliances because I can buy a certain model and it has options that come along with it.

Viking Ranges had long-term warranty and they had reviews of how it cooked meat, so I chose them. There were multiple dealers so purchasing it wasn’t too difficult of a process. But youd need some plumber to put it in because it was so heavy. It was lifted not from the bottom and I don’t think they did a particularly good job of it. There was that kind of lip that came out and too often that was used, that was not reinforced enough to handle the weight or sometimes the door was also used incorrectly. It should not to do it that way, but it looked like a handle and people invariably lift and pull on it.In the two years and a half that Ive had it, weve had the thermometer broke and we’ve had that replaced, but it was under warranty. We called them and then they called us back and then they made a stress test, but eventually we got through it. The process wasn’t super-fast, but we’re easy-going, so we managed around it.Im not really happy with the baking. It’s inconsistent. And with the stuff that got on the burners and spilled on it, you just can’t get them cleaned after a while. This is sort of the nature of the stove itself. There are certain parts that are more difficult than others. Everything that we’ve read about it is pretty much true and that has been consistent. So, we knew what we were getting, that it was gonna be expensive, that it didn’t cook real evenly, but it still looks cool and they have a roadmap of how to get it better.

The company that brought the fridge out did a fantastic job. We like the lights inside which are really bright. Its also a lot quieter than the old Viking we had. It also has sliding drawers on it that you’d touch and they just shut on their own. One time, we called to talk to somebody at Viking about the warranty and my wife said that went really well. I always liked the look of Viking ovens and since Viking always seems to have a package deal sale, we got suckered into buying the package and “saving” some money. The Fridge is awful. The door is too heavy and constantly breaks. They will send someone to fix it, but it is a temporary fix. A band aid. We have thrown out hundreds of dollars worth of food because this fridge door will not close right (very bad design way — too heavy). They will not do the right thing and replace the fridge. I wish we bought the other brand that’s a bit more expensive but actually lasts and is built right. Don’t fall for the bundle deal. There’s a reason they offer it.

My beautiful Viking refrigerator with freezer on the bottom was not quite three years old when the freezer section starting to build up ice to the point where I could not open the freezer door. Luckily it was still under warranty and the repairman installed a heater probe kit to keep ice from forming. Not quite one year later the problem occurred again. The repairman came and repaired it. Now we are 35 days later and the problem has occurred again. Viking’s solution is to install a new heater kit. That’s a total of three times in 14 months. I asked Viking if they could help with this latest service charge but they said ‘no’ because it is no longer under warranty. I think if people are having this problem repeatedly they should either find a remedy or replace the refrigerators. I think Viking should stick to ranges.

Although there’s a little insulator flap on the door of our fridge, and it’s got a little rip in it, the fresh drawer that you could set the temperature to is a good feature. Viking VMOS200 died after 7 years of very little use - repairs quoted in the $200-$250 range... not worth it. So now had to find exact same size replacement because of its existing Viking Trim Kit ($400+ by itself) and which matches other trim kits in kitchen. Anyway, only new Viking unit that fits our trim kit is the VMOS201 unit - at a fixed price of $689 plus local tax. Took old unit apart and discovered its basically a Sharp 2.0 cubic foot R530ES model... also obsolete. Note that the current Viking VMOS201 is also Sharp inside.Did some research and found that Frigidaire uses the same Sharp box, model FGMO205KF - and its half the cost of the Viking/Sharp VMOS201. All you give up is the heavier Viking stainless steel door and the Viking emblem. And if you must have the Viking emblem to match other appliances, just remove it from your old unit (use a hot hair dryer and saw the adhesive away with dental floss) and swap with the Frigidaire label. Hope this help other folks that dont want to pay $400. Too much for a commodity Sharp microwave.

I purchased a new Viking Downdraft Ventilator unit (VIPR101) along with a Viking Countertop Range several years ago. Since then I have had 4 ON/Off switches on the unit fail all in the same place in the circuitry between the switch and the main board in the fan unit. After 4 identical failures it is clear the design of the part is inadequate which I have informed the Viking parts department of each time and yet they have not updated this part. After once again informing the Viking parts department and explaining that despite my infrequent need to use the fan while cooking I was told by the agent that this was reason for the failures because I do not use the fan each time I use the range as though I should use the fan to boil water. What a feeble excuse to explain a defective design on their part. It was clear evidence that they prefer to soak me for the many replacements rather than admit the problem and do something about it.My solution now has been to replace the switch with a ALCOSWITCH model TPC13C-O for about $2 rather than Vikings $70 price. Only a minor modification was required to the fan housing to install this new switch and this replacement has been working fine ever since. Unfortunately this will be the last Viking product I ever purchase having experienced the callous and greedy way they treat their customers. Future buyers beware!

I’ve had previous experience with Viking and I know its quality so I chose it over others. I like that the Viking refrigerator has more space but I had to return the original one that I purchased and get the same model. Its got an error code and it stopped cooling. It was still within the 14-day window that they gave me so I chose to replace it rather than repair. I had a great purchasing experience with the team at Pacific Sales. However, when the delivery was supposed to take place with the first refrigerator, there was a reschedule. And I was not notified promptly. So, I had to make arrangements and then cancel them. With the second delivery, with the replacement unit, the same thing happened. I know they subcontract the delivery and it wasn’t a very positive experience. I was just trying to work something out with the salesperson because this was a big hassle - from the delivery, to the unit breaking down, to all that. So, he tried to do the best, gave us a gift certificate for $50, but we were not very encouraged. One mistake is fine, but twice and then a bad refrigerator. But there are always bad apples. So, Im not judging the whole line because of one unit. It’s got a simple design and I still find it reliable.

Bought a brand newly built house with all new Viking appliances. The first week we owned the house, the doors on the appliance needed to be repaired. Then we had an electric short due to the range needing to be required. Approximately after 1 month of ownership, the defroster in the freezer died causing the refrigerator to shut down. We had to manually defrost the freezer every day for over a week before we had a functioning refrigerator. In August, 6 months after installation, the lights in the freezer stopped working. 3 months later, 4 service calls later, we were told the lights couldnt be repaired. Even heard the Viking tech tell the service guy on the phone there was nothing more he could do. Oh yeah, sometime between August and Nov, the ice maker died. So we have a very expensive attractive piece of garbage that isnt as good as our LG that was less than 1/3 the cost. We were building a house and knew that we wanted a chef standard range. Viking was one of the options and the price was fairly decent when we purchased it. I like the gas burners and the convection oven which cooks our food faster. The quality is also very good. I previously had an electric range and its not even in comparison with my Viking range, not even close. However, we recently had to get two of the switches replaced for the ovens and the ovens were down for almost a month. There are only 2 companies authorized to work on them through Viking and the D&T Appliance is not a very good company. Viking had over 300 of the parts in stock, but it took forever to send them and get my ovens fixed. Were in the process of selling the house and I dont know if Ill buy another Viking because of that. Viking knows theres something wrong with it. They wont have 300 of those parts in stock if those switches werent bad. My brother does kitchen remodels and installs appliances and I used to install Viking Ranges with him. As Ive seen those ranges coming out of the boxes and see them perform I said to myself that when I do my own kitchen Im going to get one. Ive installed some of the KitchenAid ones and I always went back to the quality of Viking. Our dealer held our oven for us until it was ready for delivery for almost three weeks which I was appreciative of. The installation was done by Jose and it went smoothly. He advised us where we had to put the level of the gas line for that particular model. I like the condensing fan in the oven when I’m baking at two different levels. It rotates the heat. Another thing is the burners are strong at high and I can adjust it to where I need it to be. There was a manufacturer defect though. On the bottom part of the oven there was a scratch all the way to the rear. I didnt notice it until I was cleaning it about three months later which is over the warranty period already. But this defect is more aesthetic than performance and the oven is still running great. My wife who doesn’t know anything about a Viking Range is totally convinced that we made the right choice. She was leery about $3900 for a range but now when she uses it she can see the difference in the way it cooks versus regular stoves. Id recommend Viking to a friend anytime.

My daughter-in-law has a Viking Range and I know that it performs well compared to other company. I love its very accurate cooking, the jets are very powerful and water boils quite quickly. Im just happy with the overall performance. Plus the Viking dealer was very thorough. Theyre just very straightforward and honest about things. They showed a lot of attention when I was there shopping and trying to find that information. Delivery was on time, everything was installed properly and the range itself performed very well.

I purchased a home that was 1 year old with Viking fridge/freezer and Viking oven in 2005. We had problems with the defrost cycle of the freezer section, within a year of moving in. Ice would freeze up on the back of the freezer then defrost. I called an authorized Viking service to come and fix the problem. He came, used my hair blow dryer to melt the ice, made some adjustment and left. It happened again and again. The melting ice ruined my wood floor and I had to pay to get it replaced. Then a year later, the door started to hang crookedly. I decided to purchase a new Viking fridge/freeze, same type but newer for about $10,000. I also bought the extended warranty on it. Within 6 months, the first drawer cracked. I called the dealer and they told me my extended warranty would not cover broken drawers or shelves because that is considered wear and tear. I was completely annoyed. I tried to fix the drawer by crazy gluing it together. I also have red sticky tape wrapped around it to hold it together. I had to do the same with the cracked door shelf. Now 3 years later, I have three broken shelve doors and the broken drawer, all taped with red tape. It is absolutely disgusting the shabby quality of product that Viking builds. The oven that came with the house, the door became crooked too and doesnt close all the way. I had an authorized service come and see what could be done. Nothing! They no longer sell the hinge replacement part. I had the same problem with the printing on the oven panel too. It has worn off and I had to write the temperatures and the baking programs with a black magic marker! I also called them to find out what I could do about that and they said I would have to buy a new front panel! I am 56 years old and have had many fridges and ovens in my life. I have never had any problems with any of them. Most of them were about $1,500.00-$3000.00. I will never buy a Viking product and when I am in an appliance store, I try to stand by the Viking section for as long as I can and tell anyone considering buying a Viking to not do it! I tell them to read the reviews about Viking products first. I decided to add my review so that if I can save one person from wasting their money, I will then be a satisfied Viking customer!

We got the stove through Albert Lee Appliances. The most remarkable thing about the purchase was this promotional thing and I got the cookware from Viking for free. It is the finest cookware Ive ever had in my life. We ordered the stove in the middle of the pandemic and it came pretty quick. The stove has awesome quality. We love it. Its great. It gets to temperature pretty fast, and then it holds it really well. Weve always had a Viking, and when we built the house were in now, we bought a Viking and the stove lasted for 22 years. It was still working, but we thought we should replace it after 22 years.

We owned a Viking before in a prior home. We felt it was certainly well-built, had quality, and was reliable so we wanted to do that again. I like the ProChill Temperature Management that they put in their refrigerators. It seems to maintain the cooling and temperature so appropriately that the food stays good for a long time. So we’re happy with the way it works. Also, their team went efficiently and the installation was adequate. However, we didn’t like the fact that we couldn’t get the refrigerator fully clad in stainless steel. We had to go out and get panels. And since they’ve been installed, those panels vibrate and make noise and we don’t know how to fix that. But we’d still recommend it, theyre above average.

Viking Refrigerator had the most cubic feet in all refrigerator units in 2006. I owned one since 2006 but there was a corrosion issue in it which caused some problems. The warranty honored most of the repairs and it had been fixed. Then I just put in a replacement for the 2006 model that I had. I have high expectations that this new one will be a little more durable. The interior lighting on the new one is great and the accuracy of the temperature seems to be very good. The only drawback is they are extremely expensive. They jumped in cost tremendously from the first time I bought it. But it would have cost even more to reset the space for a different model. So I went ahead and bought a second Viking. Other than that, Im happy with the performance of it. The length of the order time for the new refrigerator was really excessive. I ordered this new unit in October in hopes of getting it in before the holiday season cause I was having a big party where Id cook enough food for 100 people. But I didnt get it delivered to me until May. Apparently, Viking had to send it back to the factory a couple of different times because there were defects and it didnt make it through inspection.

We were looking for new appliances and we went to look at Viking ranges. They had a deal where you buy a range and you get a free dishwasher tossed in so, we went for that. We like the range a lot. It is of high quality, better quality than the other ranges that we looked at. Plus, the Viking dealers people were very, very helpful and they did everything on time. Now, my wife uses the range and she likes that she can control the flames so carefully from high to low. Its very controllable. Im glad that we bought the Viking equipment. We plan to stay here in the house for many, many years and we hope that all these appliances last as long as we do.

For 11 LONG years I have struggled with my Viking Refrigerator/bottom drawer freezer. I have had numerous service calls. The freezer/refrigerator drains as it is supposed to but I have ice build up in the freezer. I have been defrosting it every two weeks with a hair dryer for many years. Viking has not been supportive at all and neither has Ferguson from where I purchased it. If a company sells a product, you would think you would have backup, especially since the appliances are so expensive. I have had problems with my Viking stove - wont lock. Problems with my under counter ice maker, problems with my wine cooler and problems with my stove. I keep living with them because they were so expensive and they look good - they just dont work well! Ive learned my lesson. I will never deal with Viking or Ferguson again.

Everything is fantastic with my Viking range. The brand was associated with high-end quality, durability and functionality and I wasnt misled, thats for sure. I really liked the fact that it seems like a commercial kitchen, but yet there are some modern aspects to it. It works how I want it to work. While I dont anticipate purchasing another one anytime soon, I have no doubts that if I ever needed another range, I would be coming back to Viking.

We remodeled our kitchen eight years ago. We were so excited that our new kitchen was going to be an all Viking Professional kitchen, seven appliances. Unfortunately, our excitement was short lived. We began having issues, first, with our range. After several years of dealing with the oven we finally got those issues resolved. The refrigerator is just not well made. The crisping drawer has lost its plastic windows. The plastic butter keepers on the door have broken also. But we have had to have the ice maker repaired continually. Currently, the water dispenser and ice bucket have broken again. We had our repairman find out how much it will cost to replace them. Its going to cost $1,600 to replace the parts. So we have decided not to put any more money into repairing this refrigerator since we could have bought a brand new one with the money we have already spent on repairs on this one. We also have a Viking Professional three zone wine refrigerator. The fans for the different zones continue to break. We are currently waiting on two fans because two zones fans are broken. In fact, this time one fan broke and we ordered the fan. When it arrived it had broken in the mail. In the meantime another fan has broken. So we are currently waiting on two new whole fan units. Our Viking Professional dishwashers bottom rack only has one wheel because the others have broken. On the top rack there are folding panels on the sides that have broken so many times that we have just zip tied them on. And the door on the soap dispenser has broken off. I realize our appliances are eight years old but we have had problems with them from the very beginning. I also realize Viking is under new ownership. But, unfortunately, Ive lost my faith in the brand.

We did a kitchen remodel and the person whom we were using to do the kitchen was the distributor for Viking. We got a Viking Refrigerator but then it woke me up last night as there is some sort of sensor that goes off and sets the alarm off. We have already had this sensor fixed once and now its broken again. Additionally, the drawer doesnt seem to shut right. The way freezer drawers work should be that they slide really easily, regardless if theres a lot of weight. However, after two weeks of operation, our freezer drawer has slowed down to the point where we have to push it with effort to get it to close.Viking has tried to have that fixed and nobody has been able to fix it. They contract with local repair people who have been very responsive. These repair people have addressed the issues, as reported but then theres still some sort of sensor that fails. The problem wasnt too bad when the sensor was going off at 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM. However, it has been going off at 3:22 in the morning and its annoying. There are beeping sounds coming from the kitchen thats surrounded by hardwood floors. The techs who have come have replaced several pieces the last time they came out. The problem with the sensor stopped for two or three weeks after that but then started again.

Viking ranges are so expensive and buying one was not our goal. But we just remodeled out kitchen and when we went into the showroom to start buying all the appliances, we walked by a Viking range and it was the most beautiful thing we ever saw. My husband loves to cook and we thought we had to have that. So we spent the money and bought one because of how it looked. Also, the brand name is nothing but the best. Viking is synonymous with quality and youre gonna lay down some bucks for it but it is worth it.The reps at the Viking dealership were super great. It was a location where they sell several brand names but the rep that helped us couldnt have been more helpful, nice, and informative. We bought the one with the four burners and the grill in the middle. My husbands favorite feature is the grill and mine is the baking oven. I like the way it has the latch pull out which are like on rollers. The quality of the range is beautiful and our experience with it has been great so far. But Im concerned about the way that little vent that is at the back of the cook area is placed because when it bends out, it kinda hits on our backsplash and over time, that heat at the scene may be an issue. I wish the guy told us that when we bought the range, but that is not a complaint. We bought the Viking dishwasher as well. We had a guy come out and he said that they are great dishwashers but he hates to work on them because they are so complicated. Youve got to pull things apart. But he said that he doesn’t have a lot of problems with them other than it sucks when he has to work on them. As a consumer, we bought it because it has the bottom rack, the top rack, and this little rack underneath that you pull out where you can put utensils or knives. That is brilliant. I show everybody that feature and every person Ive shown it to said that they wish their dishwasher had that. So it had an extra feature that, for a consumer, is a winner. We almost bought an under-the-cabinet-microwave-drawer from Viking, too. But we didn’t do it because in the Viking ones, the buttons are on top so, there wasn’t going to be enough room once you put your granite countertop on. People don’t generally put those low so you cant really get your hand to touch them. So, we went with a Sharp microwave drawer because its feature was you pop open that little drawer for all the buttons. So, it was better and easily accessible. Aside from that, we would have bought all Viking.

Weve heard about Viking Ranges for years and wed been wanting one all these years, so we finally got one because we got gas hooked up. I grew up with gas, and when we moved to Florida, Florida had mostly just electricity or electric ranges. My husbands from Mississippi, so we had to look at Mississippi in getting a Viking and we love it. Its the first time hes cooked on a gas stove, and its so much better. It cooks so much nicer and the food tastes better. Everybody from Viking was great. The gas that we put in had been delayed and they kept the stove there, and then they brought it as soon as we needed it.

I believe I can beat all negative reviews that I have read this evening... my Viking almost killed me tonight. It had been pulled out from its location into the kitchen because it had ceased to operate during the night... After a lengthy process we found a vendor to fix the problem. Whilst waiting for the part to be delivered tomorrow I said we must open the doors because as we have been told if a fridge is not functioning the doors should be open to prevent odors etc. As I opened the bottom drawer the fridge started to topple on top of me... my reaction was to try to stop it. However a 2 inch jut out in my counter caught the top door and prevented it from falling on top of me.Everything crashed out of the fridge and I was surrounded by broken glass etc. We tried to push it back in place but it is on wheels and the disaster was about to be compounded... trying to hold it in place we called the local fire dept... They arrived and carefully pushed it back into place. I have no words for this piece of junk... excuse me - very expensive piece of junk. Lucky to be alive tonight!

Ive known Viking for decades. They were offering a rebate on the refrigerator so I went with them. I also had a free refrigerator and the range hood with blower, which made my purchase more enticing. Without them, I might have bought the unit from Sub-Zero and Wolf. I bought it from the Better Housekeeping over in Red Bank and the people I have dealt with were great. But the unit has a poor design and if I had to do it again, I will not purchase this refrigerator. The spring on one of the doors has a sound and the ice tray was poorly made because on the first week I pulled it out and the handle snapped right off. The magnet of the butter tray on top isnt good and every time I pull the refrigerator, if I have a stick of butter inside, it falls out. Also, compared to a regular KitchenAid, which are the deeper refrigerators, Viking units are more counter depth, so in terms of storage there isn’t a lot of cubic feet in there to use. With my particular model, there are four trays for produce and those trays are much smaller so I can’t really put a lot of stuff in there.I also have the Professional Series for the oven, which is the one with the French door. Even though it’s a beautiful look, it’s really stupid that it’s said to be self-cleaning but because there’s no latch for the French doors, it’s not the same kind of self-cleaning at the lower oven. It’s just like a steam clean kind of effect and stuff like grease doesnt come off. I also already had a problem with our blower on the fan where it was making a lot of noise and I’ve already had a service call on it. So to spend what I totally paid, which is at $25,000 for my entire kitchen, I really shouldn’t be expecting or experiencing problems like these within the first year. These are high-end products, and it’s a professional series, so it’s very disappointing.

I have owned a Viking range oven, microwave and refrigerator for over two years. Although I did not purchase them I was very excited when we found out they would be included with the purchase of the house. Since then I have been less than impressed. The refrigerator constantly leaks from the bottom of the pullout freezer. I have taken it apart myself and had multiple repairmen look at it to no avail. It has ruined my wood floors and constantly has to have a towel placed under it to soak up water. My oven was working ok for longer however now the fan constantly runs. Regardless of what mode its in (including when its off.) This has made my kitchen a very noisy place. I have yet to take a part and diagnose this issue. Lastly my microwave constantly blows fuses. The clock is too hard to see on the small screen and when it does work it is very inconsistent. To add insult to injury, the cost of fixing any of these issues by certified Viking suppliers is absolutely outrageous! For the time being we are dealing with what we have until we can save money to replace each product in the kitchen. I am very disappointed and would not recommend this company to ANYONE! Buyer beware.

I liked Vikings reputation with the stoves, and form and fit. However, Im disappointed with the refrigerator. We already had three service visits. We find it loud, which is a surprise to us. And it tends to ice things up in the fridge. The dealer has been responsive but they havent been able to solve the problem. They said we have to live with the icing issue. Thats by the design of the refrigerator. And that is also true of the compressor fan noise, which is, compared to the unit that we had that this replaced, its significantly louder than I would expect any in-home refrigerator to be. And especially a high-end refrigerator like Viking. For instance, for a long time it was loud enough that even the service person said, “Yes, that sounds like a failed bearing on the compressor fan.” And they came out and replaced that compressor fan. So they did that service. The original fan certainly had more of an issue. But the replacement fan is still significantly louder than the fridge that we had beforehand. If I could do it again, I wouldnt buy Viking.

I have some problems with the Viking Refrigerator that we got. The unit functions well, but I have problems in the way it is laid out. It seemed very stripped down. The crisper drawer is not divided, it is just one big drawer that is supposed to hold both fruit and vegetables. That was surprising. Fruits and vegetables require different temperatures and different humidities. There wasn’t any delicatessen or cheese drawer too. The fridge is also very high so that the taller shelves were not accessible. I called Viking to find out how I could better accessorize the refrigerator, and there didnt seem to be any answer to that and apparently, for this model, there are no Viking accessories available.

I bought a $12,000 built-in Viking fridge from an online store (AJ Madison). It was discounted. It was supposed to have a scratch on the side, but it had a dent in the front. I bought an extended warranty. I bought it for a home in Florida that I rent out weekly. I vacation down there a few times a year. The first time I went down there, I noticed that the fridge temperature would spike up to 61 degrees. This was May of 2021. I called Viking and they sent a repairman out (Mr. Appliance). He said it was working perfectly. Then the renters started demanding money back for food that spoiled. Mr. Appliance came out again and said it was working perfectly. I went down there again, and the temperature would go up to 61 degrees and the food would spoil. At this point Viking told me they had to send a repairman out 3 times to deem it unrepairable. Mr. Appliance came out a third time and again said it was working perfectly. Now Viking said they would not take care of it, because I “accepted a broken refrigerator.“ Mr. Appliance came out again, put in a probe that showed that the temp went up to 61 degrees for 4 hours. He actually interpreted this as working perfectly. Viking got the temperature graph showing sustained temperatures at 61 degrees for 4 hours and claimed it was working fine. Viking refused to deem the refrigerator unrepairable. I got nowhere with Mr. Appliance, Viking or with the extended warranty people (New Leaf). Nine months later, I finally bought a working refrigerator from Home Depot. Nine months later, AJ Madison says they will give me a refund if Viking deems it unrepairable, which they will not. I am negotiating for a partial refund with AJ Madison now with new difficulties.

My Viking refrigerator and dishwasher are just over four years old. We have had constant problems with the fridge beginning within a year of purchase. Ice maker replaced twice, unit not cooling, plastic cracking, doors not sealing. We have had the entire unit replaced, since then the ice maker is still working but the plastic is cracking again on the covers to the butter storage. The dishwasher has been repaired at least twice, once due to a fire hazard recall. Now it doesnt dry the dishes and needs repair again. In over 30 years of homeownership I have owned several homes with other appliance brands at much lower cost - have never had any single appliance come even close to having major issues such as this. When I paid top dollar for professional appliances I never expected this low level of quality.
