Im a general building contractor, so I research every refrigeration system I can find. I had an existing cutout where I had a Sub-Zero refrigerator from years past and the Viking box size was almost identical to the Sub-Zero that I removed. So far I like it very much. It keeps everything cold and crisp the way its supposed to, and its exact in the areas that its supposed to be and in the areas that its not supposed to be that way. Its an intelligent machine. I especially like the icemaker and the pizza box shelf at the bottom. Their products are good and as advertised. For the price and performance, Viking would be my number one suggestion.

I heard about Viking Ranges online and from friends that had it. I liked the name, the look and the feel. There’s a lot of good parts, and as far as the performance, the heating elements of it, especially the oven, its very good. It heats up really fast and I really like the feature. However, the main issue I have with the range I bought is the door being so heavy. It has different panels and then those panels are latched to each other. I’ve been having issues with the door not latching all the way because it’s so heavy that it’s coming apart. And since the door doesn’t close all the way, now the heat is escaping. I had a technician come out here twice already who tried to repair that and rescue that back in there, but now it’s the same issue happening. They won’t replace the door. I’ve called everywhere and nobody gave me a satisfactory solution. At first I called from the retailer I bought it from. It was right at the end of the warranty period. So the first time they came out here, it was still under warranty. They repaired it and no charge. And then, six to eight months later the same thing happened again and the guy came out here again. So, he wrote it up and apparently they didn’t want to replace the door. They just repaired it. So, we’re having the same problem. And then I tried to call Viking directly and then I had under the warranty extended warranty go to waste. If you pay a lot for something you have high expectation and high quality, but it doesn’t seem like it. And then we call and don’t get the resolution that we expected. For that reason, I would never buy a Viking again.

We bought a complete Viking package including fridge, microwave, dishwasher and, the bane of my existence, a 30 gas range. The range would get to 400 degrees OUTSIDE the over making a burning hazard for anyone who touched the medal on the top of the range. This bad design caused the electronic ignition to fry. We had repair service done on it 3 times at a cost of roughly 2500.00. The ignition is out again and the quote we have had to repair it is $2000.00. That came with a 3 month guarantee. Since the other times we needed repairs there was only once that it was within the 3 month (we still had to pay for the service call to install the part) we decided against having it repaired. We will be buying a Whirlpool to replace it. I made numerous calls to Viking direct and was never able to get anything resolved.

The Viking stovetop is a safe stove and the quality is good. I use it almost every day. However, after I’m done using it, the fans inside it turns on twice to get rid of the hot air. And then it makes noise for an hour or sometimes even longer. I just use the oven to bake a tiny bit of stuff but now I don’t want to use it often because I don’t like to hear that noise. The stove itself is good but that oven is a problem and it’s annoying. When it’s working, it’s okay. I stop it and it starts to have something wrong. I won’t recommend it.

Overall experience is very positive. Viking Range delivered and installed in satisfactory order. Range is working very well. Product meets the expectations. Two comments: The roasting pan was not included with the range. Had to call Viking Direct and order from Parts Dept. Evidently, the dealer said that I was not the only customer who did not receive the roasting pan. VIKING should ensure that roasting pans are included with the stove when delivered. One of the burners does not fire up as well as the other. Will need to call the dealer for service. Overall - happy to have made the purchase.

The quality of the range was okay, but after a few months, the igniters were not lighting up properly. Then one time, I opened up the door and it came off, so I dont think it was a good range that we got. They came once to fix the door and then they came out again to fix the igniter. I wish I had a better stove.

We had Viking previously in North Carolina and liked it very much. We bought a brand-new Viking French door oven and a stove top. But the refrigerator, we bought second-hand from a friend of mine. She ended up buying a brand-new pair for almost $20,000 and we’re like, “Good God! We can’t afford that.” We asked what shell do with the others and she said shell just donate them so we bought them from her. We’ve only been using them for two weeks but we like how it’s not deep. So, everything’s not buried in the fridge. Plus, the quality is second to none.

I had a Viking stove for 30 years and I like the Viking company as a whole. I wanted to try the Viking refrigerator and I never had one before, so I purchased one. The quality is good but Im not as happy as I thought I would be with it. It has some things that dont work very well. For instance, the ice maker is defective. Every time I open the freezer, ice cubes get out on the floor. So the refrigerator is not the best and Viking could have done better. I should have bought another one. Id also tell my friends that its good but they should check others. Other than that, I bought a Viking barbecue and it came defective as well. I had to call the Viking service but I also have to work and its not that easy to do these things.

I have an electric oven from Viking Ranges and it works okay. They had somebody who was very good at installing it. The only thing is we have a little problem with taking one of the racks out in the oven. We have no problem with the others and we can pull them out all the way. We have a problem with holding one of them and we thought maybe were doing something wrong. If I cant figure it out, Im going to call somebody to look at it because I have insurance on it.But other than that, I like it. I like that I can go off to the other side on the top and that I could move from one area to another easily. I like that its apple red because I dont like the stainless steel which is so hard to clean. I also like the way the knobs are covered from the top and its size. I like everything about it. My friend also has a Viking and she only has broil and regular bake on it. I like the simpler one but mine has all these other options that Im working on how to figure it out. I recommend it and I already had to a friend because of my experience in New Hampshire.

Viking Ranges look beautiful that’s why I chose Viking over a different name, also because of the quality and the name behind it. I wanted everything to match, so I went with the range and the dishwasher as well. The range has worked really well, but the dishwasher had problems when it was first originally shipped. The team with Viking came in and had to replace two parts, but for a brand-new appliance having two new different parts, having someone come in was not something I expected. In the future, I would stick with the actual cookware and not the auxiliary accessories.I have the standard range and stovetop, but its built well. Everything on it is really strong and really sturdy like it would be lasting a long time. I dont worry about if its gonna break if I move to someplace Im gonna have to be of if Im gonna end up replacing it in the next five years. On top of that, I really like the timeless design, where it wont go out of style if I switch from plain marble to black marble. Its not something Im gonna have to replace.

This is the worst refrigerator that Ive ever purchased. We ordered all of our Viking appliances while our kitchen was being remodeled. It arrived on February of this year, when our new kitchen remodel was finished. After delivery, I saw that the refrigerator doors were not parallel to each other. From then on I kept on calling them so they could fix it. They finally fixed it but then again the freezer started frosting very badly. So I called them again, after 2 weeks I received the new part and they finally came and installed a new part for freezer. So now my refrigerator started frosting again. I keep telling them that this refrigerator needs to be exchanged but they just keep sending me a technician to come fix it. They cant. I made a big mistake getting the Viking refrigerator.

Had two issues with my range. First, the grate feet have come off my grills. After much back and forth (6-8 emails) a link was sent to me to order on my own. Unfortunately the feet and link were not available to be shipped to Canada. As well my range was still under warranty. I emailed back for another option for a Canadian supplier and my thoughts that this would be under warranty. I had no response (still have not). Secondly, the motherboard and fan stopped working, less than a year old. The process (online) was great to set up a call, however the process of having the claim put through to a technician and to have the product repaired took over a month. I love the product, but would still like an answer to the feet. Thanks.

The last repairman said he thought the previous repairman (Bobby Dollar Appliance) crossed several wires and that it might not be repairable. Ive tried to contact Viking about selling me another oven at a wholesale price, but they are ignoring my emails. I will only buy Viking again if they sell me one at wholesale.

I bought a new home and Viking came with it. I like that the appliance cooks well. To be honest though, I haven’t had the best experiences. We’ve had to have some repairs for every appliance since I’ve lived here in one year of owning brand-new products. So I’m not exceptionally thrilled. I have a fridge, a stovetop and a microwave. There was some build-up of ice in the freezer. The most aggravating part is that I sit and wait for installers all day long. Then, they do it over and over and over, so it doesn’t sit very well. I had three times they had to come out for the freezer and the stovetop. Twice they had to come out for the microwave. But at this moment, everything is working fine.

What I liked about Viking was the unwavering quality but I dont think thats true anymore. The Viking appliances that I have that were supplied with the apartment are of a much lower quality than I had come to expect from them. Theyre only a couple of years old but Im not happy with them. Im very disappointed with Viking and Im looking to replace the appliances that I have. With the open burner range, it feels very rickety and I have to take it apart to clean it quite often. But Im fearful about cleaning it. Looking inside, there are these loose wires and I need to clean the inside very carefully for fear that I will dislodge some wire or something. Also, I have a dishwasher and a microwave that have failed and the refrigerator freezes milk but doesnt have even temperature regulation. They replaced the microwave fairly quickly but when the dishwasher broke, I was without a dishwasher for almost two months. Viking seems to be able to replace things, but they dont seem to be able to fix things.

We liked the professional quality of the range itself and we’re very satisfied. Purchasing it was quite a pleasurable experience. We had a very knowledgeable sales lady. We had a built-in grill when we moved into the house about 40 years ago. We then replaced that and got a 24-inch Viking grill. When we decided to get a new stove, we wanted to match it up. Previously we had an electric stove. We checked other things like BlueStar, but we liked the looks and the style of Viking so we selected it. Its great and the heat of the range is so much even and it works so much better. The temperature control is really nice and I like the one pullout rack which is really convenient. The product is also easy to clean. I lift up the racks on top of this each day and I can dust underneath there. You can take the ceramic tops or the steel tops off the burners as well. It’s really nice and so much better than electric. It also looks like a million bucks and will never go out of style. It always looks like a professional item and is classy looking too. Its the best there is. The installers did an excellent job and we had all the trim pieces. We inquired about getting a broiler from them but Viking doesnt make them anymore. I’m going to have to have some Viking products when we move. I was in the Fire Department before I retired and all the fire stations had Viking grills and gas stoves. There were about 8-burner stoves and that’s where I first saw them. They always worked well. I am thankful for Vikings good products and am appreciative of them. I’d highly recommend Viking.

We bought a home with an Italian Fhiaba refrigerator. We had a lot of problems with it and we had to replace it. It cannot be repaired and we only had a certain amount of money that the manufacturer had given us to purchase another refrigerator. The Viking was on sale and thats why I purchased it. It was not my first choice though. The drawers for produce, meats and cheese storage bins are so cheap and I was shocked at the interior for a Viking product. I was sad to lose my Italian refrigerator which was well-made and had beautiful interiors. I would not have bought the Viking refrigerator but it was at the right price, so I ended up with it. But would I buy another one? Absolutely not. We purchased a completely renovated home, and all the appliances were Vikings. The six-burner gas stove and the microwave are all okay, and they work great. But I would not recommend the refrigerator. When I knew I had to replace my previous refrigerator, I went onto several websites to read reviews, and very few of them were good. But my husband wasnt going to spend more money because we bought a house with a $10,000 refrigerator that ended up not working after two years. Even the plastic inside of a Sears Kenmore refrigerator is better. Viking has these soft close drawers for cheese and veggies, which are awful. I have to treat them with kid gloves, because Im afraid theyre going to break on me at any given moment. The company that owns Viking make commercial grade refrigerators and U-Line is one of their products. Its an amazing refrigerator. Why dont they use some of the same materials? Viking has been synonymous with high-end quality. But they really fell short on this one. Looks good on the outside, poor quality on the inside.

I’ve been having a lot of trouble recently with our Viking Refrigerator and it’s been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I liked the great arrangement design in the freezer and that it had a three-year warranty. But, the freezer leaks water onto the floor, which then pools under the fridge and then leaks into my basement. I have to get in there every week and break up the ice at the bottom of the freezer so it doesn’t break the seal. I sent an email to Viking several weeks ago and I was in touch with somebody there and we have emails back and forth. I opened up a service ticket about three months ago and I’m only now starting the service process since it wasn’t until this week that I actually got confirmation. Our old Viking Refrigerator was unimpressive for the price. It was just an ordinary refrigerator with a Viking label on it. It was eight years old and a particular part broke. We could have fixed the thing for $200 but they discontinued that part and it was not available. They supposedly keep spare parts for 10 years, but I suspect that this part was defective or broke a lot, so they ran out. So our opinion of Viking is not very good.We bought a new refrigerator and it was the only one that fit in the space that we had. It also costs $1,000 more than other virtually identical refrigerators made by the same company. There were also other better refrigerators that are too tall. The new refrigerators drawers and shelves worked better than the old ones. Its a decent refrigerator, but all refrigerators in that price range are at least as good. Theres nothing special about it.

Ive been cooking my whole life and my parents had a couple of Viking Ranges. I went with them as well because of the quality and a specific offering that they had that included a free dishwasher. The range is excellent. I like the simplicity, the quality, and the ability to rebuild, repair over time and the lack of any real computers and microprocessors. But I have never been more disgusted in the service that I received from a company, let alone one that Ive just given $5,000 to. I interacted with tech support a couple of times. The individual I was talking with was mumbling into the phone and acted like he was doing me a favor for helping me. He acted like my questions were completely ridiculous. When I talked to somebody at a call center in India for an appliance I bought at Home Depot, they treated me better than this. I had to tell him to put me on the phone with a different tech support person but they have no further help. I talked with people in the parts department who told me I was incorrect with regards to where the data tag was for where the serial number and model number were. It was an all-around garbage experience and they will never get another dime of my money.Ive since talked to other owners of Viking products as well as some technicians and they say that this is a common trend. I have written Viking and theyve not gotten back to me. Quite frankly, my next purchase will not be a Viking because Ive never encountered such pathetic treatment of a customer, especially one who thought they were buying a luxury brand which would come along with the support. Ive just convinced somebody not to buy a Viking as a result of this because that is unacceptable to me.

We bought a new-build and the Viking range was already installed in the house. Viking had a reputation that I heard of and the builders use of that appliance increased our impression of the rest of the house. We really like and enjoy our Viking range, and weve only had minimal issues with it.

My Viking refrigerator has lasted 10 years with three service calls mostly related to small things. Its great looking and it works well. The only complaint I have is the drawers within the refrigerator, such as the crisper drawer, all cracked and will need to be replaced. But they are very expensive to replace.

The people who repaired at our beach house in Florida did a great job and they were very nice. They got our Viking fixed. But when I spend that kind of money on appliances, I shouldnt have to have them fixed, especially two of them the day they were installed. The way the world is today, it took eight weeks to get somebody to fix them. It was not a good situation. We will not be buying any more Viking appliances, though we bought a lot in the past and they look great. We’ve been very, very disappointed with the quality of them. It has gone downhill. Weve had problems with a lot of the appliances we bought lately, starting with ones we bought for our ranch. I bought five new appliances in the last four months, and after they were installed, the oven and the dishwasher didnt work.

The tech said that the first Viking range we got looked like it was dropped
The tech said that the first Viking range we got looked like it was dropped. Thats the only thing that would explain the problems with the oven cavity being kind of out of kilter. The rep I spoke to about it got kind of snappy with me and said that the tech was not telling me the truth. Also, the range wasnt level. The island vent was up higher on one side than the other and it stood out like a sore thumb. They tried to level it and the only way they could do it was in such a way that the tile backsplash behind it, with the grout lines running across horizontally. And one of the igniters was bent in to touch the burner and the tech said that because of that, it would not ignite. They replaced the range. They brought the new range in but it has the same problem as far as the back in the island grill not being level with the tiles behind it in the backsplash. The tech came out and he said the guys that installed it screwed up. He was able to level it and it looks fine. But the oven door is also off exactly the same as the first range was. We had a tech here last week for the fourth time. He tried everything, as far as tweaking the door hinges to see if he loosened the hinge screws and tried to move that oven door over to see if that would indeed get some clearance. He was able to improve it a little bit, but its still clearly wrong when you look at it from the top. Also, theres a kickplate that goes along the bottom of the range and when it was delivered, it was like it was knocked off of the little hooks that hold it in place. And it was scratched. He looked at the scratch and said they would replace that. He properly reattached it so it looked true and ordered a replacement part. But the replacement part was cut wrong and wouldnt fit. I still have the scratched kickplate. One more thing is the grates on top. There are three grates, one for each set of two burners, front to back. The one on the right was lower and was kind of dipped to the right side. The tech replaced the little stoppers that it sits on to see if that would make it work but it was still lower on the right side. He had to put washers in the brand-new range to make the grates level. This is their flagship 36-inch range. Its a $14,000 appliance. But the quality could not have been worse. We’re baffled. If I could do this all over again, I would not get a Viking product.

I’m not happy at all with the microwave and refrigerator. The refrigerator has caused us problems such as freezing things. I had the maintenance guy come out five times and we had to get extra parts, but it’s still not fixed. This has been going on since August when we moved in and it’s now the end of January. So we’ve been dealing with this for six months off and on. We would like a brand-new fridge but I don’t know if Viking is going to do it. There still the one-year warranty. The only thing I was really happy with is the stove. The oven has been okay but it doesn’t heat up very quickly.

I wanted a nice, basic door cabinet refrigerator that I can slide it in, but not built in. Ive done the research on the competitors and Viking Refrigeration always had a high rating. The quality is good and I like that I can really see well in there. I’m very satisfied. I bought it from an appliance store, and I can’t say that they know what they’re doing. I also needed a range, but the appliance company didn’t set in there right. The range arent as good as they used to be, but our refrigeration is good and I would recommend it to anybody.

At first, we were thinking about Thermador, but the package that Viking offered with the microwave at the time coaxed us to go the Viking route so that we could have a Viking range and microwave. Were very happy with the range. It cooks phenomenally and bakes pretty evenly, which is really great. Plus, the way the dials light up at night looks pretty cool. But my favorite thing is the blue lights that light up under the lighting on the external part of the range.

I am writing to publicly declare I could not be more disappointed in the 4 Viking appliances my family has purchased. I have the 48” duel fuel range in my home. Both ovens are now not working after using the self clean features on both ovens. I am very upset. The fault is with the Viking appliance company. The cost of the repair should not be my burden. I would never recommend this brand to any of my friends. The one positive thing I have to say is that the range is beautiful. My brother’s family have 2 exterior refrigerators and an exterior ice maker both from Viking. Each appliance has required multiple repairs yearly. It is infuriating to spend so much money for a professional brand we trusted, that fails repeatedly. It’s a bitter disappointment to walk outside and not be able to have a cold drink with a glass of ice waiting for you, after investing so much money. Furthermore, the repairs were expensive and repeatedly done by certified Viking repairmen, using Viking parts. The fact that Viking cannot effectively repair their faulty product is pathetic. The Viking company should replace all these appliances free of charge if they are to have any integrity at all.

We have owned many Viking appliances over the years. Our most recent purchases have been a $5,000.00 freestanding gas range (VGSC530-4B) with 2 safety recall problems. Very inconvenient and required 2 days of my time to coordinate service people and repairs. Second, an undercounter microwave oven (VMOD240) which cost $1,300.00 and has a cheap plastic keypad. The finish started wearing off of the numbers within 18 months of normal use (by 2 people). Now it looks unsightly and dirty even though it is clean. I just ordered a replacement keypad part which cost $90... ridiculous for a strip of plastic. A microwave this expensive should be of higher quality and last longer. Also, over the phone, Viking customer service representatives can be snooty and surly. Hello... I am a C U S T O M E R... who has spent a significant amount of money on your products. Maybe you should be nice!! I will consider purchasing appliances from another manufacturer for my next project.

I believe I can beat all negative reviews that I have read this evening... my Viking almost killed me tonight. It had been pulled out from its location into the kitchen because it had ceased to operate during the night... After a lengthy process we found a vendor to fix the problem. Whilst waiting for the part to be delivered tomorrow I said we must open the doors because as we have been told if a fridge is not functioning the doors should be open to prevent odors etc. As I opened the bottom drawer the fridge started to topple on top of me... my reaction was to try to stop it. However a 2 inch jut out in my counter caught the top door and prevented it from falling on top of me.Everything crashed out of the fridge and I was surrounded by broken glass etc. We tried to push it back in place but it is on wheels and the disaster was about to be compounded... trying to hold it in place we called the local fire dept... They arrived and carefully pushed it back into place. I have no words for this piece of junk... excuse me - very expensive piece of junk. Lucky to be alive tonight!

After I bought Viking appliances, Ive been having problems, and the products are less than two years old. In the first year, we had a problem with the dishwasher. Something went wrong. But they came out and fixed it. Then we had a problem with the refrigerator. The heater for the ice maker didnt work, so there was water pooling at the bottom and then flat out. They came and they changed the heater one time. Then a week later, the same thing, water was coming out again. They said there was some piece over there that was missing. I was disappointed. A $10,000 refrigerator, and within two years, we have problems. For products like these, it should have a longer warranty than one year. But I like it. It has all the features that I need. Its a stainless steel finish but it has a scratch. Theres a stainless steel repair kit that I have to get to polish it back to before.

Dana is the cook in the family and he’s done lots of research on the Viking company. We also visited many stores and tried many models. This is his second stove. He originally had the 36-inch that was black with brass trim all over it and that’s what he really wanted to get this time. The oven enameling of the first range flaked off, so they had to replace it for us. The dealer was great and customer service has been very good.He really likes that there’s a smaller oven where we don’t have to heat up a great big oven to cook. He uses the griddle a lot and likes the speed that they cook at because of the high heat. He also likes the grill, the dual fuel and the six burners. It’s an impressive piece of machine and the quality of the stove itself is superior. The one thing I know that we both miss is that Viking has taken the clock off of the face of the stove. There’s no time at all, which we relied on for our time in our kitchen. But Danas very pleased with the stove. It has many features that I know he likes to use and we’re very impressed. It’s a Cadillac sitting in our kitchen.

Viking is the better brand and I give it a high rating. I like everything about my stove and it is very nice -- premium stoves do not have a lot of push button screen on them as those are problems and they are not made for heat. I had a premium brand once and I threw it out as I did not want to fix it again. So I bought a Viking. Visually, it is nice, including its knobs and color. Initially, when I did my research, I did not even know where they are from as I thought they were manufactured overseas. But when I went to purchase it and I started doing more research, I found out that they are all over New York. Anytime I go to a restaurant, they have Viking stoves, and those stoves are here forever! It will be the last stove you ever own.

However, there were some issues with my oven. Somehow, something stopped working. I called them and in two years, we were not offered the warranty for the service. We had to find our own way and I thought of every procedure possible to get the oven started again. But even today, it still hasn’t been repaired because I don’t have a warranty. And although the other Viking products are working fine, Im dissatisfied with Viking as I did not get what I needed at this point.

Everything I put in it, either in the vegetables part or the upper part, is freezing. Everything in the back is freezing. We purchased a Viking microwave, range/oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator in February 2008. The appliances were beautiful. Unfortunately, they did not last. Between February 2008 and November 2012, the oven had to be repaired twice. There was an issue with the temperature gauge both times. In addition, the microwave/range hood required multiple service visits, and at one point Lakeview (the authorized repair facility) took the microwave back to the shop and replaced every working part in the appliance in order to get it to function again, according to the repair person who worked with us. The microwave completely stopped working in 2010, and we purchased a temporary countertop microwave to use. In 2012, the dishwasher completely broke down and was irreparable. In 2011-2012, I repeatedly contacted Viking Customer Service and attempted to get our microwave repaired again. After numerous unsuccessful attempts to get any sort of information or resolution (multiple emails went unanswered after I provided the information requested by the customer service agent), I contacted the Better Business Bureau. After Viking was contacted by the BBB, a representative contacted me relatively quickly. But Viking would only offer to cover the cost of the parts needed for the repair and would not cover the cost of repair, although we had already paid for the microwave to be repaired more than once. Lakeview, the only authorized repair group in our area, charges $180 for the first hour of service and $90 per hour after that for repairs. In the end, we ended up sending the appliances to the junk yard and paid $1000 for a temporary microwave and dishwasher from GE, both of which function just as well or better as the Viking appliances when they still worked. We are now waiting for our Viking refrigerator to stop working. The water and ice dispenser in the door has already stopped functioning very well, so we do not use them any longer. In addition, the temperature in the freezer occasionally fluctuates for absolutely no reason. Sometimes it is 5 degrees, sometimes it is 0 degrees, or some other random temperature.Additionally, when we purchased the appliances from a licensed vendor, we were informed that we were eligible for a small rebate for the appliances. We verified that we were eligible with the manager of the vendor, who confirmed that we would be able to obtain the rebate. Viking refused to honor the rebate. We will never purchase Viking appliances again, and we make sure that we advise our friends, family, colleagues, and acquaintances to avoid the companys products as well. When we redo our kitchen in a year or two, we are planning on purchasing our appliances from Wolf and Subzero.

We remodeled our kitchen and have replaced all of our appliances with new Viking models to include: a 6-burner, 2-oven range; a 36 built in freezer, a 36 built in refrigerator, 2 dishwashers, a microwave and a double electric oven with French doors on top. I have had problems with not one, but ALL of my appliances within the first two years of owning each of them. The problems that were covered under warranty eventually got fixed, but the service provided in Rancho Santa Fe by the southern California servicer recommend on the Viking website (Executive Appliance), has been slow and unreliable. I was without a freezer for two weeks and only got it fixed because I repeatedly called them to chase the electrical board part and their technician (after losing several hundred dollars worth of food). The refrigerators hinge had a metal part that literally broke apart and fell on the floor. Again another, several week wait to get this fixed. Both dishwashers stopped working within the first two years and have been repaired and are working, but one has control buttons that constantly stick and the paint labeling the buttons is rubbing off. The electric oven does not heat evenly and the food at the back gets cooked faster, so you have to rotate your cakes and cookies or use the convection feature to minimize burning at the back. The small oven in my gas range does not work consistently, so I just use the electric ones now. So, if you intend to use your appliances regularly, I would advise avoiding Viking. Like other reviewers, its just a fancy name badge on your appliance, whats beneath is not well constructed or reliable. I am so DISAPPOINTED and will NEVER again purchase a Viking product. I cannot imagine how they will stay in business with such unreliable products. I am just furious about the time and effort Ive had to spend getting things fixed that are not even old. I guess I should have kept the very old appliances - - at least they worked.

I was looking for a new range and I saw the Viking Range in the store and I really liked the look of it. We have known the owners of the store for a really long time and it was also the best brand that they sold. There are a couple of things that I was disappointed with like the front panel looked like it wasn’t finished correctly. It looked like it was almost rusty. But they ordered a new panel for that. And the first time I used it there was steam and something got in between the glass so they feel that the seal on the oven door wasn’t really correct and they ordered a new glass for the door. So we had a couple of issues but it’s my first experience with a gas range and I really like it so far. They are taking care of the issues so I’m pleased. Those things can happen to any range but I really like the gas burners. I really like the little LED lights underneath that shine over the knobs and I just really love the overall appearance of the whole thing. I love the grates -- they’re very heavy and heavy duty and quality looking. And I think the soft closing door is really nice.

I bought a new Viking 48” side by side fridge freezer 10 years ago and had the kitchen built around it. It looks fantastic and I felt pretty smug thinking I had a sub zero look but for a fraction of the price. However, 2 months ago it suddenly failed and started heating up rather than cooling. Here is the problem - I’m in the UK and Viking no longer trade in the UK. Despite contacting Viking numerous times I am yet to find an accredited engineer that will touch it. Quote “ I used to work on them but it got so difficult to get parts”. I found a local engineer who has serviced it and replaced the refrigerant but it is still faulty and now he tells me there must be an internal leak and therefore impossible to fix. So I have a £6,000+ fridge freezer which is useless and being more than 300kg in weight I don’t even know how I can remove it. To date Viking has offered no advice or help. Perhaps like many others that purchase Viking appliances, my wife and I were enamored with the design, size and look of the Viking refrigerator. We spent close to $20,000 and purchased a 36 refrigerator with a separate 30 freezer to go beside it. Looking at our kitchen you see nearly five feet of fridge/freezer. It looks amazing. Stupidly, this was the reason we bought the brand. My neighbor has a similar set-up and he told us over and over again not to invest in Viking. He swore it would be a mistake. My attitude was it wont happen to us. Was I wrong.Within one year, back in 2018 (pre-Covid; so no excuses yet about shipping issues/health issues/work shortage issues), the refrigerator stopped working altogether. Everything inside was ruined. The refrigerator was hot. It would not cool anything. I called Viking and it took 3 days to get a repairman to our home. Three days of no food. Then of course the part had to ordered. This took another 2 weeks. The part arrived and within another week it was installed. One month of no working refrigerator. I asked for a loaner... nope. I asked for a replacement... nope. I asked for a food stipend... nope. I asked to reimbursed for the ruined food... nope. After the month delay, it was noted that the refrigerator was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. This took another month for the new refrigerator to arrive. A $12,500 refrigerator that we could not use for two months. Now check this out; within a month or two of the new refrigerator being installed, my 7 year old son opened the fridge to get something. He pulled the door and as he pulled his foot was in the way and the door punctured his foot. He required 7 stitches. Our family wrote it off as the craziest accident ever. But... within another month or so, the door was not closing properly. This was a brand new refrigerator and the door would not close right. The magnet would not catch and the door was essentially always open. Viking sent a repair guy. He could not figure it out. He kept stating that the hinges were unlike anything he had seen. Then it dawned on him, the door was installed upside down. He had to take it off, flip hinges and reinstall. What??? Upside down? How is that possible? I then realized that this is probably the reason why my son punctured his foot. It was too low.Six months after replacing the refrigerator, the freezer stopped working. Everything melted. The compressor (?) was shot and it was replaced. For the continuing hassle, Viking extended our warranty an additional year. We now had 3 years of warranty. Within the three years, we have had to replace the ice-maker at least 5 times. Every 4 months it develops a leak and water drips into the ice bucket. Soon the ice bucket has an inch or so of water at the bottom and the entire ice bucket turns in to a solid block of ice. They send a repair guy and he replaces it. This has happened five times. It is broken again now. Unfortunately we are now out of warranty. I argue that the problem began while we were under warranty. This apparently does not matter. Viking wants to charge me $150 for the part and $150 to install it. Again a $7,500 freezer with an ice-maker that does not work. Dumb.Today, the produce tray in the refrigerator broke. Looks like a plastic piece fell off and the side by side drawers came off. This overpriced appliance is an absolute joke. Like my neighbor did with me, I tell all people that compliment our gorgeous appliances to NEVER buy the Viking brand. I warn everybody that I cannot to make the same mistake we did. Viking sucks.

We had a lot of small hiccups because of COVID and because of the supply chain issues. Initially, we purchased our Viking stove through Best Buy. But it kept getting pushed out and I wanted to get our kitchen up and running. So, I ended up finding a floor model out of Stockton, that had the piece in stock. It had some scratches on it but they were very minor and they guaranteed a six-month warranty. They delivered it and got it in service. The Viking is simple to use and theres not a lot of electronics on it which is nice compared to Thermador and other high-end brands. I went with the one with an open range and even though its rated at 15,000 BTUs, its probably more because its open. Youre getting the airflow better, so its actually heating it up better. So far, I love it. Its easy to start. The one thing I dislike is if you take off any of the igniters to clean, they get a little bit on the porcelain and I have to readjust them in order for the igniters to ignite sometime. The other issue Ive had is that it has to kick on numerous times to get the igniter to ignite. So, every once in a while, itd have a little gas smell. I talked with the retailer that I bought it from about it, and they were gonna fix that. But my father-in-law whos familiar with Viking stove, he’s like, “Yeah. I’ll show you. It’s just this.” We ended up just moving the igniter a little bit. And then it took off, and no questions asked. Also, Im not sure if the convection part is working properly because it makes a little rattle from time to time. Otherwise, the Viking has been reliable.

The Viking range is a good range. It has high heat. I selected it because I do a lot of stir-fry and I wanted something that has good heat control. However, it has some rattles that I dont like. I did have somebody come in and look at it. He corrected a few things and said, Because it is a custom kitchen, there are some places that the range touched, which he said normally wouldnt have been the case in a traditional installation. He seemed to have a reason for it. I was pleased when I called. I was smelling gas. They put me on to a service guy in New York. I was able to arrange a visit with him pretty quickly. He came over and corrected the problem very quickly. The pipe where the gas comes in was a little shifted. He was able to crack that. He said it wasnt a serious problem and its been working fine since. I havent smelled gas. He also explained to me what the situation was and the safety features with the Viking. If I was going to do it again, I wouldnt do it so quickly. I’d probably end up with a Viking because of the reputation and because of things Ive heard. But I was kind of rushed when I made the purchase so I might have looked around a little more. But in terms of cooking, Im very satisfied.

We wanted high-end kitchen appliances so we were looking at either Viking or Sub-Zero Wolf. We wanted to make sure that all of our appliances match so we went with Viking. Weve had the range for about a month now and so far, no issues. I feel like its pretty high quality, although when I put it on simmer or very low heat, it tends to lose the flame, so it is hard and I have to really adjust. I cant go all the way low or it will flame out, and it halts my cooking. Other than that, were happy with the oven. It definitely feels sturdy from the knobs to the door. It seems like its well put together so I appreciate that. I havent had issues with cooking. It seems to have a pretty strong flame and for everything that we are using it for, it is doing the trick. The infrared boiler is really nice. I just have to get used to it because it would get very hot. We burned a couple of things and we realized how powerful it was.We had an issue with the fridge. The right door that has the little piece that is supposed to move when shutting it so it can go in wasn’t lining up with the tracker thing that pushes it outwards. They came out and fixed that. Also, the top piece of the microwave wasnt put properly, so we just had the guy who was fixing the door do it as well. Overall, I am happy and I will definitely recommend Viking.

We got the 5 Series and theres a part of me that wishes it had a little more bells and whistles in the oven. We purchased a house that had a Viking refrigerator and we didn’t realize the value of the appliance. When it broke and wasn’t cooling in the freezer, we looked and it cost $9,000 to replace, which was a shock. I would never buy a $9,000 refrigerator unless it was to match one that broke and it wouldnt have been my first choice by any means. I don’t think I wouldve ever bought a Viking appliance on purpose. Plus, theres nothing better about the refrigerator and its small for its size. We called a tech from Johnson Service last October and somebody came out. He said that it needed either an inverter or a compressor. One was gonna be 600 bucks and the other one could cost a couple of thousand dollars. Then he took off and we didn’t hear anything from anybody for a couple of months. We would call and ask if somebody was gonna come here and fix our fridge and they would say that they were still waiting on a part. That went on for a couple of weeks. We went through Thanksgiving and Christmas without a refrigerator. We were calling them once a week to ask for an update. They said that the refrigerator was an expired model that Viking doesnt make anymore and that they had to make a whole new kit for the refrigerator, which was what was taking time. Finally, after Christmas, I called Viking directly and asked what the heck was going on. The lady said that that was the first she had heard about it, even though they were the ones that had initially referred me to call Johnson Service. The lady was helpful though. She got on the phone and started making calls to Johnson herself. The next day, I got a call from Johnson and they said that Viking freed up one of the parts needed and that they would be able to get over here in a couple of days to fix the refrigerator. A couple of days went by, but we still hadnt heard from them. Then finally, a week or so later, we got it fixed. It took 10 weeks to get the refrigerator fixed and we didnt get a deal. It still cost $650 to fix it. It was an awful experience. I would never deal with the refrigerator again. I would work with local stuff that I can get people to fix easier.

We were doing a complete remodel of our kitchen, so I was looking at all the appliances for the kitchen. Ive done remodels of kitchens for five or six years and Ive always used Sub-Zero but we decided to try how Viking would work out. We liked the look, the overall aesthetics, and quality of it and the pricing was a big thing, too. There seemed to be a good overall package deal with the broad suite of Viking appliances. What we ended up doing was our entire kitchen is all Viking appliances. The refrigerator has been good so far. The lighting and design are good and I like the easy closing of drawers which is kind of nice. Also, the ability of not to have to do the cleaning of the vents and things was an important feature.

When we first took delivery of our Viking stove (double oven, 4 burners and grill) the larger of the two ovens didnt work and the computer motherboard had to be replaced. The company servicing it was great so the impact was minimal. Within the first few months, the black finish on the grease trough, although never used, started to peel, exposing the shiny metal underneath. Since it is so visible on top of the stove, I reached out to Brigade (the new name for Viking in Canada) for a replacement part, under warranty. After much waiting on hold, and back and forth emails, they agreed to send the replacement part.I waited five months only to find out that the order was never placed and a new company has taken over their parts distribution. They have informed me that since my warranty has now expired, they will SELL me the part at a discount. How nice! This stove, which looks beautiful, was meant to be a once in a lifetime purchase. Not only is it showing early signs that it wont stand up to normal use, the lack of customer service is disheartening! I wish I loved my stove but I dont and would not recommend a Viking/Brigade due to the poor customer service.

Ive had the refrigerator for a couple of months and Im very happy with its quality. I like the new LED lights and the French doors. The refrigerator is beautiful and it works well. Our previous refrigerator was a Sub-Zero, and Viking has more cubic feet of space than the Sub-Zero. The interactions with the Viking reps were fine. We bought it at Best Buy and had a helpful sales clerk there. We happen to hit a sale which also helped out. They provided delivery service and that was seamless. The guys carried the refrigerator in and placed it on the floor. They hooked up the icemaker, pushed it back in the hole, turned it on, and away they went.

I bought a $12,000 built-in Viking fridge from an online store (AJ Madison). It was discounted. It was supposed to have a scratch on the side, but it had a dent in the front. I bought an extended warranty. I bought it for a home in Florida that I rent out weekly. I vacation down there a few times a year. The first time I went down there, I noticed that the fridge temperature would spike up to 61 degrees. This was May of 2021. I called Viking and they sent a repairman out (Mr. Appliance). He said it was working perfectly. Then the renters started demanding money back for food that spoiled. Mr. Appliance came out again and said it was working perfectly. I went down there again, and the temperature would go up to 61 degrees and the food would spoil. At this point Viking told me they had to send a repairman out 3 times to deem it unrepairable. Mr. Appliance came out a third time and again said it was working perfectly. Now Viking said they would not take care of it, because I “accepted a broken refrigerator.“ Mr. Appliance came out again, put in a probe that showed that the temp went up to 61 degrees for 4 hours. He actually interpreted this as working perfectly. Viking got the temperature graph showing sustained temperatures at 61 degrees for 4 hours and claimed it was working fine. Viking refused to deem the refrigerator unrepairable. I got nowhere with Mr. Appliance, Viking or with the extended warranty people (New Leaf). Nine months later, I finally bought a working refrigerator from Home Depot. Nine months later, AJ Madison says they will give me a refund if Viking deems it unrepairable, which they will not. I am negotiating for a partial refund with AJ Madison now with new difficulties.

When I shut the freezer door of the Viking refrigerator, it hangs up about a half an inch on one side and then I gotta slam it in. Its also overheating. Then every time I open the freezer drawer, the ice bin flips out on the floor, it goes backward. The machine rubs on the top of the ice because the ice bin is full and so the ice flips out. Now Ive got to open the door very carefully so I dont get ice on the floor because my floor is not in yet. But if I normally pull the door, it would do that. Viking could have designed this a little bit better.I called the retailer, Freds Appliance, immediately for repair and they said theyd get somebody out. A week passed and nobody called so I called again. The guy asked if somebody called me and I said no. He said that hed get right on it. Then another few days passed and we finally got a call. The people are not coming out till the 28th so Im dealing with the door being crappy. Im not happy that I paid a lot of money -- cause I bought the fridge, the oven, the dishwasher, the microwave, the icemaker, the range from Viking and then I gotta deal with this. I bought a Viking dishwater 11 months ago. During this time, I had to call their repair representative 5 times. I was very dissatisfied with this as I had paid more than twice an average dishwasher and expected better quality and not worse. I have been using dishwashers for more than 30 years and never had any problems before this one. Last week, the washer broke down again and the repair guy said that an olive pit had gone past the filter and into the drain, and he claimed that this was my fault and the warranty would not cover this situation! Now, I always wipe plates and try to get everything off but it is possible thata pit might be stuck to the bottom of a plate or glass and isnt the filter suppose to get that? I consider the design of the filter to be faulty and called Viking but they would not accept paying for the repair. I will never buy Viking again and will relay my experience to everyone I know and recommend them to stay away from Viking products which are highly priced, have poor reliability, and bad customer service.

One of the things that I didnt consider was Viking because Viking and Thermador are usually premium, luxury, and mansion-type brands, until seeing at that price point-wise. They make for the regular persons reasonably-priced refrigerators. We didnt need a water dispenser in the front or ice sensor and they were one of the few manufacturers that didnt have that. The house that I bought had the Viking range in it. Im really happy with my experience with it. I love the center stove. Its huge and it helps me put my plate in there and then make pancakes for the whole house which is very convenient. However, in terms of difficulty, its just very hard to know what temperature the oven reached and how long that would take. Because it doesnt have the setting to say, Okay, pre-heat it. I have to go at least 400 degrees Fahrenheit. And theres no way that tells me that its ready at 400. One time I had one knob that my son broke so I had to call them. But it was out of warranty, so they just said it was out of warranty. I said, Okay, no problem. But they provided me information in terms of who can help me fix it. We bought a Viking stove, hood/microwave, and dishwasher when we remodeled for our dream kitchen. Each appliance has had problems. First the bottom of the utensil basket disintegrated. It was flimsy and brittle after a few months of use. Brand specific replacement, $70 from our local appliance store. Fewer than 20 months later the control panel on top acted up. The appliance repair person said it would be at least 6 weeks to get a replacement part, if it was even available. It would cost, with installation, over $300. The stove has had several problems, the microwave/hood has problems. None of this was covered under any warranty. For a low end product the performance would be poor. Because its expensive, wed say it was abysmal.

I really like my Viking stove thats why I looked into buying a Viking refrigerator, too. I researched a lot and it seemed like Viking had the least number of complaints regarding breaking down or having trouble within the first five years. I like having two temperatures in the refrigerator. I can pull out the drawer and put a flat and large plate of cake or tart in the different section and control the temperature. Moreover, the Viking team at the dealer was nice, friendly and knowledgeable. They knew what the difference was between Viking and the other manufacturers which was great. However, Im having an issue with the fridge already. The second week after I purchased it, I noticed theres an icy patch in the back of the drawers. Some of the vegetables in the drawers were getting frozen. I had the temperature set at 37 Fahrenheit, in which nothing should be freezing at that point. I had to wait 20 minutes to speak to any technician then had to hold another 15 minutes to set up an appointment. I just bought it so I expect to get it fixed. I had to speak to the servicer in my area who called me back but there was a scheduling conflict so I havent seen them yet. Theyre supposed to come on Monday. I expected more.
