I really like my Viking stove thats why I looked into buying a Viking refrigerator, too. I researched a lot and it seemed like Viking had the least number of complaints regarding breaking down or having trouble within the first five years. I like having two temperatures in the refrigerator. I can pull out the drawer and put a flat and large plate of cake or tart in the different section and control the temperature. Moreover, the Viking team at the dealer was nice, friendly and knowledgeable. They knew what the difference was between Viking and the other manufacturers which was great. However, Im having an issue with the fridge already. The second week after I purchased it, I noticed theres an icy patch in the back of the drawers. Some of the vegetables in the drawers were getting frozen. I had the temperature set at 37 Fahrenheit, in which nothing should be freezing at that point. I had to wait 20 minutes to speak to any technician then had to hold another 15 minutes to set up an appointment. I just bought it so I expect to get it fixed. I had to speak to the servicer in my area who called me back but there was a scheduling conflict so I havent seen them yet. Theyre supposed to come on Monday. I expected more. Im slightly disappointed with the problem I had.

My wife wanted a Viking range and the purchasing process went smooth and fast. The quality is great. The only thing is the door hinge of the oven is a little weird. It keeps on popping out and I just pop it back in. I dont think its to the quality of Viking but I never reached out. I don’t think theyre gonna give me a whole new door hinge. Besides that, everything else is perfect. It works great.

Our GE refrigerator doesnt have as good as the quality that we expected for the price. The worst part is I cant really get it cleaned. I follow the instructions as to how to get that stainless cleaned and it doesnt do what the manual tells me. It doesnt really look like I would want it to look, which is to look uniform. It doesnt come out even and the surface is so bad to clean that I keep those fiberglass things so that when I open and close the doors, I dont have to do the handles constantly. And the other thing which we didnt know when we purchased it was we just assumed it had an ice maker and it doesnt have an ice maker.

Viking was the affordable choice and a better choice than some Maytag. Its got a quality name to it. Its the rep. However, there was a problem with the shipping of our Viking Refrigerator, and we had to get another one. The first one got replaced. Even the second one, the freezer door is a little loose. I didnt wanna deal constantly having to send it back. The handle was loose, so I tried adjusting the handle. It doesnt adjust anymore. But, its good. It works. We got it from Best Buy. They were nice enough to accommodate switching out the first one. They wouldve switched out the second one cause I wasnt happy with the freezer door being crooked and the handle being loose. The handle is still loose. We were able to fix the crookedness a little bit, but at that point, we needed a fridge. Our old fridge had crapped out, so I didnt have time. They werent gonna bring it till the next day. So, thats my only gripe. The product is not 100%. I wouldnt recommend this Viking Refrigerator ‘cause its a hassle.

We were in the market for something above the ordinary so we went and looked at a Viking range at some of the appliance stores and it certainly was. It was really what we wanted. The dealers did everything we could have expected and more. My neighbors came into the house and said, “Ooh.” Everybody’s in awe of it because they’re expensive. But it’s a beautiful appliance. My favorite feature of the range is the convection-cook part. I bake in that so much more even than a convection oven. All the burners are nice and even the burner liner on them. I recommend this appliance. I would do it again and wouldn’t look anywhere else because I love it.

I bought the Viking dishwasher about 3 years ago and I only use it less than once a week. The circuit board has to be replaced for over $550 including labor. I am very disappointed in the quality of this expensive brand. It only has the name!!! My old Jenn-Air dishwasher lasted for years without problem. What a shame! I will never buy a Viking again!

We purchased our apartment last year and everything was installed already. It’s all Viking. We’re quite happy with the equipment. Everything is working smoothly and the range is great although we have an issue with the noise. It took me really long to have the technician come over, which was probably a few months but he came and looked at it. He said that it was a manufacturer issue so, he put a few bolts on the back. The noise is still there but it’s less. I like that the microwave is spacious and then, my stove is good. The oven is okay too, even though I prefer to have an even bigger oven. The fridge with a French door freezer is big too but I will benefit more if the freezer compartment would be larger, but it’s okay. We still fit it. We’re just a family of five people but we need more space.

We paid $1,600 for this high end dishwasher (Model VDB 450ESS) that does not dry dishes and smells all the time. The clip, which holds the little folding shelf in the top rack, broke. And guess what? I wanted to pair up all my products with the same thing. I was choosing from Viking, Wolf, and Sub-Zero, and it was a comparison between them. We chose Viking over the Sub-Zero line cause Sub-Zero has a dishwashing machine that has an interior that I wasnt completely satisfied with. In addition, Viking should also make a wine fridge so that my entire houses appliances would be a Viking. I have their range, the hood, and the dishwasher cause thats pretty much the only appliances that they offer. The range is good, but its burner tends to leave a lot of watermarks which is like a darkening stain. And for whatever price Im paying for them, it shouldnt be something like that. The appearance on the burner of a Viking should have been a little cleaner. The main effect that just blows me off. No matter how much I do, it looks like its dirty but its not. From my experience, I have heard of lots of people telling its gonna do that, and I already knew about it before I bought the product. I even asked the person where I picked it if there was any way to prevent it. I was told Ive got to replace it. I called Viking up and replaced the little lid. But the main thing is that it heats up all my food and I love that its flame. Its so powerful that everything just heats up twice as fast compared to a regular Sears product that I would have bought. I have a close relative that owns the Wolf line of the same exact products that I have from Viking, and I have used their products before I bought the Viking products. The Viking does everything like a commercial grade appliance would do but its not commercial grade so it does the effect for our household, in general. And it does work 20% faster with me cooking on a Viking than on a Wolf. But at the same time, the Wolf that I used was three years older than the newer series that most probably came out with the changes that they have. As for the dishwasher, its great and it matches all my appliances but I wish it was more fancy enough. If I have to pick a dishwasher all over again, I would have gone with Sub-Zero. Even though I didnt like the interior much, it is a little bit nicer in the features that Ive seen on the newer ones. Other than that, everything else seems fine and well-warrantied.

The rep from the Viking dealership was really helpful. He pulled out the range and showed us the gas line and how it was going to be installed. Viking is supposed to be a really good range as far as reputation, but mine doesnt work. I turn it on, it reaches temp, the fan comes on and then it stops lighting. It just slowly winds down and stops, so a repairman came out and hes going to replace the computer board on it. He seemed like he knew what he was talking about and I expect that everything is going to turn out just fine after he gets that repair done. But first, the board has to come in and then hell call me to reschedule, which should be within two weeks. The elevation burners are pretty cool and they have a constant slow simmer. Im still happy with the range because some things not working could happen sometimes. Im a little more mellow than some people and Im not angry about it. The range came with a two-year full warranty and so far, everything has been covered. Luckily this year, Im having Thanksgiving at my daughters house so I dont need the stove done before that day. Now, if I had family coming in, Id probably be sweating about now and ordering turkeys in from someplace. Im good and I can wait for the perfect oven.

I see Viking in other peoples homes, and I got them because I thought the quality was good and they were kind of upper-end. However, the quality is not what I thought it was. We have the whole suite -- we have the refrigerator, a 36-inch freezer, a 48-inch stove, two dishwashers and a microwave. The fridge is fine and I like the size of it. However, I’m surprised at how poorly the others were built. We ended up having to get six dishwashers in total because four of them were bad. The other two, we finally said we were sick of being without a dishwasher, so we just accepted the poor quality. The stainless steel is thin, and it was dented on the front. The drawers on the side were broken, and we ended up having to pay shipping on it because Viking wouldn’t warranty it.

I got lucky while shopping for a counter depth refrigerator at Best Buy. It happened that BB had a discount on their Viking 36 French Door Bottom Freezer floor model as they were replacing that model with a newer model. On top of that the floor model had a small dent on the door, so it was further discounted. Im have never owned a high end refrigerator... Its amazing in comparison to my last GE Profile. Good looking design, even down to the control panel. I was concerned about having the bottom freezer and now prefer it over a side by side. The interior LED lights are amazing. Fitting a pizza box on the wide shelving is fantastic. The motor is relatively quiet, a bit noisier when it goes through some sort of cycle every so often for a few minutes.

We bought a Jenn-Air package. And our Jenn-Air range was leaking gas for several years, and they couldn’t seem to figure out how to stop it from leaking gas. So, I had them take it back and give me a credit. And the store manager recommended Viking as a replacement, and so I went with his recommendation. And that’s how I ended up with Viking. I love my Viking range. However, I feel like the oven takes too long to warm up. It’s a lot slower than the Jenn-Air one was. The Jenn-Air had some neat features that the Viking doesn’t have like it had a timer associated with it. It had a couple of different technological bonuses. But as far as the way it cooks and the way it looks, Viking’s great.

We bought a home that was completely renovated three and a half years ago and the decorator and contractor chose all Viking appliances for the home. We have a wine refrigerator, regular refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, wall oven, range with a small oven, big oven, hood and stovetop. We have had a couple of issues with the big refrigerator we have. The first time, the meat or vegetable drawer at the bottom of the refrigerator section froze and ruined the vegetables, and we had someone out a couple of times to look at it. Finally, they said there was nothing they could do to fix it, so we increased the temperature for the overall refrigerator. It’s keeping the vegetables from freezing but the refrigerator is not at the suggested temperature. Also, the hinge on the bottom right of the refrigerator has gone bad and the door squeaks when it opens and closes. But I like having separate drawers. It’s a great idea as long as it works the way it’s supposed to. Over the past week, we spoke with a gal named Veronica in customer service and she was great. We would have been normally forwarded to the warranty department but they were closed, so Veronica took the initiative to go to her supervisor and we were well-taken care of. That’s why we would buy another Viking appliance. I didn’t think the squeaking would be a big deal to fix but they have to put a whole new hinge and it costs $800. Viking is coming to fix it and they’ve been great about it ‘cause we’re just outside the warranty time. Everybody at Viking has been very good so I don’t mind if things go wrong if the company takes care of it. They haven’t come to fix the refrigerator yet, but Viking is doing a great job at taking care of the customer and that’s the most important.

Im very dissatisfied with my Viking Refrigerator. I find the design of the refrigerator really crazy. You have to open the refrigerator doors to get water out of a spigot inside the door, which when youre filling drips onto the bottom of the refrigerator. And we have been having horrendous problems with the door sticking at the bottom. Weve had the freezer door fixed four times that it gets to the point where you just cant open it. The service company has been in four times and they pull it all out. They clean out all the ice and do everything they need to do and they put it back. It works better because when they arrived you couldnt open it at all. But once they leave it is still not working properly. I dont know what the solution is because A-1 Appliance solved it for maybe two days, three days, four days and then it just sticks again.

We have a Viking stove and an oven as well. Then, we were shopping around for a new stove and we really liked our Viking stove. They stopped selling Viking up here in Canada and when we bought the stove, it was just at the point when Viking lost that trademark. We were looking for a stove that didn’t have a lot of sort of electronics but would be really a good gas stove. It’s an electric oven and that would stand the test of time. The salesperson really highly recommended the stove and she was right. We love it. Then, when it came time to replace our fridge, we just naturally leaned towards looking for a fridge that had the same quality. We were lucked out that the timing was such that they started selling Viking again here in Canada.I love the icemaker that’s in the pullout drawer. We didn’t think we wanted any kind of an icemaker or a water dispenser but this one came with the ice dispenser inside and we love that. We use it all the time. And I love the layout of the drawers on the inside, the flexibility with being able to move the shelves around. I love that the shelves are glass. They’re clear so I can see through into them. Also, there are lots of space in the bottom and there’s like a pullout temperature control drawer that holds lots and lots of fruits and vegetables in there. They’re smartly designed and its a really nice fridge. One thing that would be great would be if it was easier for us to get our hands on the replacement water filters and the air filters. Its a little bit of a challenge. They have to get ordered from the States and then they go to the appliance store. It takes a long time. Other than that, I would highly recommend Viking.

I purchased my Viking refrigerator along with my Viking stove and dishwasher with my new townhome in 2003. I had to have service within the first year for my Viking refrigerator and then again. I guess the freezer had shut down and water had been on the bottom of the freezer, then froze and had to try and scrap it off. I called the repair and he supposedly fixed it, but then it became rusted. I had other problems which I won’t get into. The list goes on, but now for the last year (8th year) there is a cooling problem and the alarm goes off constantly. Had the repair guy out here and so he said what I may need, which will now cost me $1000 but he is not sure that will fix the problem. My neighbor has put thousands dollars into theirs and now it is not even repairable.Of course I have called Viking several times and they do nothing for me. My repair man came out again and told me what they were offering 1/2 off a new Viking, but who can afford another $3600 plus tax when the first one was expensive enough? I don’t seem to have a choice because I don’t know if I can fit anything else in my built in and match, etc. Something should be done about Viking. Pay up. That’s all I have to say. I need a new refrigerator and they should pay for it. Let’s do something. They are getting away with it!

My Viking range that was purchased in 2005 has never worked properly and I have had numerous service calls. Most recently, the burner bases have been misfiring and was told by an authorized Viking repairman that about 3 years ago Viking updated the burner bases due to a design flaw! When I called Bonnie at Viking customer service to question why had Viking owners not been informed of this design flaw, she said it was just an updated equipment and they could not contact all their customers. This house has a built-in Viking refrigerator and on the right is the all-freezer. The refrigerator is loud and the compressor was constantly running so the previous owner of this home had to have it replaced under warranty in 2016, which was only a year after he bought it. When we purchased the house in August 2017, and just before we closed escrow, he had to call Viking to get service because the temperature of the refrigerator was not keeping cold and there was a leak in the coil. The appliance is relatively new and that worries me but so far, the refrigerators been keeping cold so I’m thankful for that. But I am surprised at the compressor noise and we live in a development where the builder got Viking for all the units. I looked at several units when I was purchasing and I noticed the same noise in every kitchen because the floor plans are similar. It’s quite loud and it’s not infrequent. I even talked to the owner in one of the homes and she had changed out the Viking for a Wolf refrigerator. She said she did it because the Viking was so loud. Also, at first I was worried that there was a problem, but I looked at the freezer temperature and it’s constant at what it should be used. It just runs hard and it’s very sad to me because I’m going to end up having to replace it at some point. The refrigerators features are reasonable, but for that kind of investment, I would never buy one of this. I have an experience with a built-in Thermador and that has superior quality compared to this Viking.

I saw the Viking refrigerator in the store and I liked the way it looked. I liked the way the handles were. It pretty much had straight lines. Weve had it for a couple of months now and we love everything about it. It’s the first time weve had a bottom freezer. Before, we had a side-to-side which my wife and I both hated. Because with the side-to-side, at least at the time that we had it, you couldnt even get a pizza a box in there. Although there was an issue with the trim kit that we got, I cannot brag enough about Viking. When I called to report that problem, they put me in touch with the right person right from the very beginning. I took pictures of it and sent it to them then they looked at it and got right back to me. They said, “Guess what? You found something we didn’t know about. We actually have a problem with the manufacturing and so we’ll get it corrected. He said they would get another one sent right out to me and he did. Even after I got it, I got a phone call, following up, to make sure that we got it. They could not have been better.

The quality of Viking is very good. The stovetop and the oven get hot really quickly. I wish it was a little bigger but that was a decision we made and I didnt realize that it would feel as small as it is. But, it doesnt have any fancy electronics and thats a bit hard to get used to at first. We also used to have a griddle but its okay. We have a better functioning stove or oven and its definitely an improvement from what we had last. However, Im having some trouble. When the Viking arrived, it took some time to get it installed because our kitchen was under renovation. It was more than a month. We got a range, and with it, we also got a dishwasher and that came dented. When we called, the reps were like, “Why didn’t you open it right away?” And were like, “We were told that it was going to be a very, very long wait because of COVID. And so we ordered it in April, knowing we were renovating in June.” The company that we bought it through was very nice, and they ended up working with us on it. So it turned out to not be a problem. But they came to replace the dented door of the dishwasher and they brought another dented door. So then we waited again. It took a long time to get it all settled. On the oven, the light shows that its preheating or that its on. Sometimes, we can hear the gas lighting. Also, there have been numerous times where I come back to look at my potatoes and the oven has been off the whole time and this happens a lot. But it’s not like it was smelling gas in the house. So we’re starting to be able to piece together that there’s something that’s not right. It has happened at least seven times where Ill start the oven, it will be hot, Ill put my food in, Ill go back, and then the whole meal is ruined because its not hot anymore. But its on 400.

The tech said that the first Viking range we got looked like it was dropped
The tech said that the first Viking range we got looked like it was dropped. Thats the only thing that would explain the problems with the oven cavity being kind of out of kilter. The rep I spoke to about it got kind of snappy with me and said that the tech was not telling me the truth. Also, the range wasnt level. The island vent was up higher on one side than the other and it stood out like a sore thumb. They tried to level it and the only way they could do it was in such a way that the tile backsplash behind it, with the grout lines running across horizontally. And one of the igniters was bent in to touch the burner and the tech said that because of that, it would not ignite. They replaced the range. They brought the new range in but it has the same problem as far as the back in the island grill not being level with the tiles behind it in the backsplash. The tech came out and he said the guys that installed it screwed up. He was able to level it and it looks fine. But the oven door is also off exactly the same as the first range was. We had a tech here last week for the fourth time. He tried everything, as far as tweaking the door hinges to see if he loosened the hinge screws and tried to move that oven door over to see if that would indeed get some clearance. He was able to improve it a little bit, but its still clearly wrong when you look at it from the top. Also, theres a kickplate that goes along the bottom of the range and when it was delivered, it was like it was knocked off of the little hooks that hold it in place. And it was scratched. He looked at the scratch and said they would replace that. He properly reattached it so it looked true and ordered a replacement part. But the replacement part was cut wrong and wouldnt fit. I still have the scratched kickplate. One more thing is the grates on top. There are three grates, one for each set of two burners, front to back. The one on the right was lower and was kind of dipped to the right side. The tech replaced the little stoppers that it sits on to see if that would make it work but it was still lower on the right side. He had to put washers in the brand-new range to make the grates level. This is their flagship 36-inch range. Its a $14,000 appliance. But the quality could not have been worse. We’re baffled. If I could do this all over again, I would not get a Viking product.

We had good luck with our Viking dishwasher and we really liked that a lot so we ended up doing the Viking refrigerator. We bought it from Best Buy and the woman was really knowledgeable and knew the brand well. She made the experience easy. I like that the Viking refrigerator is a counter-depth unit that we didnt have to have a built in. It was perfect for what we were looking for cause we didnt want to remodel the kitchen right away. The refrigerator also doesnt mark up easily and its perfectly designed. The drawers, cabinets and storage spaces are very well-organized. We dont have any problems shifting things around.

Four years ago, I used to deliver the appliances myself and I fell in love with Viking Refrigerators then. I like the looks and convenience of use. However, the situation I have now needs to be rectified. The old refrigerator I have was a great quality. This one now is working great but the door grinds and doesn’t open and close properly.I’ve contacted the store and they sent somebody. Then I contacted Viking Refrigerators because it’s not an installation problem, it’s a problem with the refrigerator. And they sent somebody out to the house a week and a half ago and I have to hear back from them. They said they had to order parts. The product was installed on January 3rd. I contacted them on the fifth and the problem has yet to be rectified. They could have been aware that it is a warranty issue and they should have fixed it immediately. Viking Refrigerators needs to respond better. It was an issue trying to get in touch with somebody but when I finally got somebody, they were very good and they were trying to work with me. Overall, I would still recommend them.

Viking Model VCBB536ELSS has been a nightmare. This is an $8,000 refrigerator. Constant ice buildup. Finally, it died completely after many visits from repairman trying to thaw the back of the unit out and replacing motors. Viking agreed to replace for free. They even extended the warranty for me because it was 8 months of dealing with this nightmare. I have had the new one since November 2020 and the SAME THING IS HAPPENING again!! I cannot stress enough what a pain and expense with wasted food this has been.

My battle with my Viking product began 8 yrs ago. We bought a new with new appliances. All Viking. Living 8 yrs with this refrigerator has been like living in the 1800s. We have had our ice maker break 3 times. Hinges break. But the biggest problem is the food staying fresh. Mainly because the only choice in cooling for this refrigerator is Lukewarm and rotten food or your eggs yogurt and all food frozen. I am writing this once again because I own a very expensive refrigerator and without and help this company has not recalled this lemon of a product. The frustration level is so bad I had to take to Facebook last time I sought out help for this problem. I then made friends with people in Vancouver Colorado and Brazil all whom had the same problems and the company took back their refrigerator. They sent me repair man and blocked me from their social media. But I still continue to have Massive problems with this refrigerator.Ice maker once again broken. Broken shelving and cooling problems begin to plague me once again. Imagine your danger comes home from college has surgery before the holidays and you take out the large tub of yogurt frozen solid. You like to drink cranberry juice frozen solid. Take something off a different shelf moldy. It is almost impossible to deal so I go buy a garage refrigerator to try to survive the holidays. I will never purchase a Viking product again and when Im in store I do walk up to complete strangers and tell them to run from this product. It saddens me because I would love to support a company made in the USA. I just would like a company to stand by this and make good.

I thought Viking had a good reputation and high-quality appliances. Ive had my Viking refrigerator since November 1st and the buying process was fine. The rebate process was pretty good too. It’s just that the $10,000 refrigerator isn’t working that great. It doesn’t make ice and/or whatever makes the ice sort of bloated out and puts frost all over the freezer. Viking customer service sent out a local firm to fix the problem and they came out multiple times. They said they fixed the refrigerator twice but it’s still not fixed. I’m not feeling too good and I need to call Viking back again. My wife is screaming at me to do so.

The fridge model that we got does not have an in-door ice maker. We hate that the ice gets everywhere in the ice maker in the freezer, and it even gets underneath and falls out. We are building a brand new house, so we went to the appliance store and they showed us all kinds of different options. I knew I wanted the 36-inch or I want it bigger and I want the more commercial-like because I like to cook and I like to bake. The Viking range is what the sales guy had and he showed us. We were interested in the dual because I know an oven is nicer to have electric for baking and stuff like that and the gas for the top. Its very nice. But weve had problems right from the get-go. We love the top, but the oven part is where we having all the issues. The installer noticed an issue with the fan being super loud whenever we run it on convection. He started the claim for us. The installer worked with the store that we bought the range from and was gonna have them come out and take a look at it. Weve had the guy out here twice and we still dont have it fixed. The guy said he was gonna order some parts and he would be back out. He came back out and he said it was not the right thing. He went back and we havent heard from him since.Weve had it since October so the known problems have been since then and we cant get anybody to fix it. We cant even get them now to return our calls. My husband tried to reach out to him a couple of times and havent gotten a callback. The range seems to run really hot. I keep burning stuff in it and Im kinda irritated. But the top is fine and we love the griddle. Other than the oven issue, everything works really great.

The quality of the service from Viking is pretty good and their reps have been great. On the very top of the refrigerator door where you put the butter, it has these little flimsy plastic doors that hang over. When you shut the refrigerator, the plastic doors open and the butter comes out. Viking could make those a little bit more stationary or stick more. I also had to have someone come because the ice maker wasnt working. But the problem was they could only come and service our house on Tuesdays and Thursdays but wed be at work. So its hard to have someone come out to service the ice maker. They were great about getting to send someone out but I had to cancel it because I thought I was going to be able to have someone here. We had run our course with other good, run-of-the-mill brands. One was a side-by-side and my wife liked it because it was a counter-depth but it didn’t have enough fridge space and had too much freezer space. It was a Samsung that had four doors and a three-zone in it. They were good on their warranty but we had nothing but problems with it. Then I had to wait six weeks to get a check from them. So I said, Nevermore. I’ve seen Viking Refrigerators in homes. They had built-in units in nice, fancy custom kitchens and I knew of their reputation like a Sub-Zero. Plus, I liked the simplicity, the build and the feel of the Viking refrigerator. That was what I set out to buy in the first place. We had a very good experience with the Viking dealer and we were well-served by the individual who sold the appliance to us. The one we got has a French door and the bottom drawer. It was the only model that was standalone and the rest of them were for custom kitchens. Its top-shelf and I’m very pleased with its quality. I like the feeling I get when I open up the door then the LED lights illuminate the inside and just slowly fade. It’s very pleasant to operate and it has lived up to all the expectations I’ve had of it.

I have had my Viking built in side by side for one year -- I chose Viking thinking it was a quality product. It is NOT -- the items on the top shelf the refrigerator ice up, the items in the freezer frost up and at six months a new part had to be installed in the freezer compressor. It was defective and froze the whole compressed up -- we had to move everything to a cheap Kenmore freezer which has worked for years to keep until the part came in and the repair was made. Now 3 months later it is doing the same thing. This is either a defective unit or Viking is making junk and charging a lot for it. Next step for us is to demand a replacement for this side by side and if they wont do that we will sue for a refund! Sad that this brand has become junk!

We like the Viking range because of its style and how it fits with our cabinets. It was ultimately the better fit for what we were trying to get. I compared it to the Thermador and the Thermador had a smaller range for the same price. With the Viking, I can control the stove top of the gas burners, which is nice. It also fits into our kitchen wall. I use it every day and so far it has performed very well. However, weve had a couple of service issues with it. The first was the door did not close all the way. It was not aligned properly, so we couldnt get full closure. The other thing was the steel would pop when we turned the oven on. Weve already had service calls to come out for the range within the first 12 months. They were able to resolve the door issue, which apparently was a shipping thing. We still have the metal popping but we learned how to fix that. Also, customer service has been good. I had a lot of issues with the dealer, and by the time I got to Viking, the gentleman I spoke with was very compassionate and had a lot of empathy. He cheered me up and did everything he could to help in our situation.

I own a Viking range and I use them for customers. When I built a new home, they were clearing out at the Ferguson showroom and there was a Viking and a Thermador. The Thermador was under warranty in a matter of a year and that was good. It was a 48-inch, it went through bolts and boards, and it went through the heating element. So it went through a lot and to me, that was not great. Its convection also had a huge loud sound and I didnt like that at all. On the other hand, the Viking was very quiet and I really liked it a lot better. So I gave it a shot and purchased it online. I could have gone through the dealer in Salt Lake, but I would have had to pay taxes. If I had to do it again, though, Id probably go with the dealer thats close because I had to return one item and it has been a real pain. At first, they told me that they were not going to take the part back. But it was still in the box and we couldnt install the back part because there wasnt enough room. And we didnt know that until we got the back part. Then, they said they would take it back, but I had to ship it back and it was a double package so it would cost $75 to ship it. It also took forever for them to acknowledge they got it and when they said they have issued the credit, I still hadnt seen it. Overall, I love Viking and its various simmers. Its a beautiful stove and it works great. Its also functional and very effective. Its commercial great, too, so its worth the money. But I really wanted to get certain features and to get them, I had to keep upgrading. Then, when we moved, I had to downgrade to a 30-inch. So, that was hard when I had the nice, big double ovens. They should also make the colored ones cheaper so I could get the beautiful cobalt blue or the red one. I love the easy glide over rack as well and I want to know where to purchase it.

We had the range installed about three weeks ago and we love it. This is a Series 5 model and the one thing that we dont like about it is the fact that the knobs got that little blue marker at the top and we thought it would lit up when you turn it on to show that its on, but they dont. Its there just to show the off position. We do have the LED lights under the panel that come on, but youve gotta physically look at every knob to make sure that theyre in the off position to make sure its not on a really low simmer where you cant see the flames. They should put a light on each one of those knobs to show when you turn it on. Other than that, it’s performing well. We cook a lot on it.I looked at some of the other models that were less expensive. Some of them were half the price but then, I looked at the consumer reviews and the people that were giving it 4 or 5 stars were only about 60%. But the Viking Range was in the high 90s. Some of these other ranges look good, but according to a lot of the customers who had bought them, they didnt function properly. So that was the main driving force for going with a Viking.

Professional Refrigerator/freezer model #VCFF236SS002 - Purchased an existing home with barely-used 2012 Viking appliances. Within a week neither refrigerator nor freezer were holding temperatures. The shelves in freezer were also easily off-track. Took 3 days to reach Viking Corporation since it does not take calls on weekends or holidays, nor after 5pm ET. Once connected to Viking Corp service rep I learned that the appliance is under warranty for 30 more days. But the approved service provider/distributor for the state of WI is in IL, and the first available diagnostic appointment was one week out. The company rep at LV Distributors in IL gave a 50-50 chance that the service tech would be able to repair the refrigerator on the first visit, and could not estimate the time it would take to obtain necessary parts, nor when a tech would return for 2nd time. Calls to local high end appliance sellers & Viking owners about alternative service providers were fruitless. Reading Consumer Reports and other posts from owners in same circumstance makes it clear that this $3600 appliance is a bad choice if one wants a reliable, sturdy appliance.

I have a Viking freezer and a refrigerator and I haven’t been really pleased with either one of them. Ive had the refrigerator for eight years and it was the refrigerator of the home that I built. The problem Im having now is the coolant and there was some defrosting in it. The technicians had replaced it and tore this thing apart, but Viking sent them a defective part. When the technicians found out about it, they had already drained all the stuff out of the refrigerator and started putting it back together. The refrigerator has been down for a week now. We’ve been looking for parts for three months and it’s just not been a good thing. The refrigerator door doesn’t close right and the guy was trying to work on that too. The freezer seal has always been an issue as far as the white trim and we’ve replaced that a couple times. The refrigerator itself is fine, but as far as the room goes and the expenses, I’ve had a lot of difficulty with it and the freezer. Ive had the ice maker repaired and its been a terrible experience. I don’t think I’d buy another Viking. If someone asks me about them, Id tell them not to get a Viking.

I read the review from C of Cleveland, OH Nov. 21, 2019 and decided to provide my own feedback. We installed a Viking Double Oven over 10 years ago and it stopped working correctly after 3 or 4 years. We havent been able to use the lower oven for over 3 or 4 years. It keeps giving a cooling error, then stops working. The Birmingham Viking certified service people have replaced several parts including the control panel. Now Viking is trying to say that it was installed incorrectly which is total baloney! Just an excuse from Viking to get rid of us. We made SURE the contractor and cabinet builder followed the specs when it was installed and the installation was approved by the Viking Dealer. So this $6,500 unit can’t be repaired? Spend a third of the price and get the same quality with another cheaper brand!

In 2005 in gave myself my dream kitchen. Room for 4 + of us to work in the kitchen at the same time, lots of cabinets for storage and countertops for work space and, most of all, high end appliances. Almost from the beginning I regretted my choice of Viking products. They look good, but... Lets start with my double wall oven, one of the ovens takes 30-40 minutes to come to temp, wile the other is about 8-10 minutes. They claim it was designed that way. Why? No answer. The thermostat in one oven went out within 2 years, which meant I had to have the cabinet person here at the same time to fix the oven because they wouldnt work on it otherwise. Then there is the cleaning process which takes darn near a whole day not to mention a lot of electricity! Next, the stovetop, backsplash, hood units. The hood works fine, not very easy to clean and is very loud. The stainless backsplash arrived with scratches. It has the fold down racks for warming etc. When I called, they said they would send someone, so it was installed, after a couple of months, they said I needed to return it for repair! Not possible! I would have to uninstall cabinet trim, stove top and hood for that to happen. They said that was my only option so I have lived with the scratches for the last 15 years. The stove top is 90% great! However, cleaning is a nightmare! There are so many nooks for things to spill into, crumbs to fall into and NO way to get them out short of totally dismantling the whole stove which would require a pro. There is a pull out crumb tray but its always un-nerving to clean it as there are random wires hanging down and seem to manage to get caught when you are trying to clean. Next the 48 refrigerator/freezer unit. Just over the 6 year mark by a couple of months, the fridge stopped working! Service people had been here on 2 prior occasions for the temp of fridge not being correct. They basically said, too bad, soo sad! The unit became a storage compartment as I battled with Viking. They finally offered a 50% off a new unit which was still a hefty price tag for a 6 year old fridge even though service had been here for cooling issues. The new one has been mostly fine but, the freezer gaskets dont seal well til the door is leaned on! Last but not least, the dishwasher, First it took a few months for them to get the order right, there was a bracket required for the install and they couldnt manage to get one here, nearly 6 months later, I finally had a dishwasher. What I quickly learned is that you almost have to wash your dishes before you put them in the washer, and the bottom rack rollers are insufficient for rolling the rack in and out when it is only half full of dishes. Their solution is to SELL you wider rollers for $100. and the rack still wont stay on the track! It is quiet (some consolation) So, in the 15 years since my dream kitchen was built, I get lots of WOWs when people come in for the first time but I always tell them, looks can be deceiving and if you actually want to use the products, cook with them, bake with them, dont bother with Viking, coz looks are their only specialty.

We purchased a home with Viking appliances and in about four months that weve been here, the products were okay but I would not recommend them. The refrigerator is noisy, with a lot of clicking noises. We think it’s associated with the filtration system and when it makes ice. And it takes about between three and four days to fill the bin of ice. We tried to use some of the functions where it says excel ice where it leads the user to think that it speeds up the time of making ice. But it still takes three days to fill the little bin in there. But the Viking customer service has been extremely well and Im very, very happy with that aspect.

Side by Side Refrigerator/Freezer Model FOSB 5422D - Beautiful built-in refrigerator freezer with ice dispenser in door. VERY expensive. Major design problem with icemaker. The basket holding ice has a metal part that connects with a plastic part to propel the ice into the dispenser. The metal part quickly destroys the plastic part, rendering the ice dispenser useless. All this within the first four months of use. The replacement ice basket has been on back-order for seven weeks. If and when it is replaced, I have no reason to believe the new part will enjoy a greater life expectancy unless Viking changed the design. If you intend to dispense ice from your freezer, be very wary of buying this model.

30 Double French Door Oven - I must say that I am extremely pleased with this product! Being a Chef, I am very particular on whats in my home kitchen, seeing that my wife and I like to entertain (as my time permits). This oven has exceeded my expectations. Not on just looks, but performance. It heats very quickly, cooks/bakes very well, and the temperature probe is accurate. Its a real eye-catcher when someone walks into my kitchen.

I was replacing an oven that I had for years and was gonna go buy new appliances. Plus, I wanted an electric range. I looked at Viking and the quality of the appliance was pretty good for the price. The struggle that I had was I could not see the exact stove that I bought because nobody had one in Columbus, Ohio. I could see pictures in the brochure of what Viking looked like and looked at it online, but I couldnt see it, feel it, or touch it. So for me, it was a big risk and a little frustrating. But its been great so far. I like its oven capacity a lot.

I purchased my 36 dual fuel oven the summer of 2005 and had installed by mid-fall. It hasnt worked properly since the day I bought it. I threatened legal action after the first oven was installed as the the burners would not ignite and the oven would not maintain a consistent temperature. After several months of frustration and battles, they replaced the unit with a brand new one which has not worked properly since the day it was installed. For the second Christmas in a row, I have not had an oven. I have manually lit the burners for 2 years now after spending a small fortune on replacing ignition units. There has not been a six month period since the unit was installed without one or several repair calls. Viking has no interest in standing behind their products. I know several people personally that have purchased Viking products and got to the point of legal action because of their appliances not working. One in particular installed a wall oven only to have the glass melt off and fall onto her brand new kitchen floor the first time she used (thank God someone wasnt standing in front of it).

Theres a drawer in my Viking refrigerator and it was broken right after the first couple of days I used that. Also, when I called Viking for warranty on oven, fireplace, and the refrigerator, they couldn’t even help me to find the serial number. The reps were extremely impatient and they even sighed on the phone. For a $400 refrigerator, Im okay with that but not for a $10,000 one. And then, once the technician arrived, they checked the serial number and it was completely a different place than what the reps told me. Up to now, I still havent received my the part for the drawer. The technician said he will order the part and it has been a month since then. I don’t like Viking at all.

I bought a $12,000 built-in Viking fridge from an online store (AJ Madison). It was discounted. It was supposed to have a scratch on the side, but it had a dent in the front. I bought an extended warranty. I bought it for a home in Florida that I rent out weekly. I vacation down there a few times a year. The first time I went down there, I noticed that the fridge temperature would spike up to 61 degrees. This was May of 2021. I called Viking and they sent a repairman out (Mr. Appliance). He said it was working perfectly. Then the renters started demanding money back for food that spoiled. Mr. Appliance came out again and said it was working perfectly. I went down there again, and the temperature would go up to 61 degrees and the food would spoil. At this point Viking told me they had to send a repairman out 3 times to deem it unrepairable. Mr. Appliance came out a third time and again said it was working perfectly. Now Viking said they would not take care of it, because I “accepted a broken refrigerator.“ Mr. Appliance came out again, put in a probe that showed that the temp went up to 61 degrees for 4 hours. He actually interpreted this as working perfectly. Viking got the temperature graph showing sustained temperatures at 61 degrees for 4 hours and claimed it was working fine. Viking refused to deem the refrigerator unrepairable. I got nowhere with Mr. Appliance, Viking or with the extended warranty people (New Leaf). Nine months later, I finally bought a working refrigerator from Home Depot. Nine months later, AJ Madison says they will give me a refund if Viking deems it unrepairable, which they will not. I am negotiating for a partial refund with AJ Madison now with new difficulties.

I love my stove. I had to get used to it because of the temperature variation from my old stove to this Viking stove. But I love the style of the stove and the self-cleaning elements of it. I love that it’s lifted from the floor that you can sweep underneath. I also love that it heats up quickly. I love, love, love that it’s stainless steel and you can wipe it down polished easily. Im very satisfied with my stove. I have two issues with my stove. One issue is that my kickplate was dented a little bit when they delivered the stove. So I went back to the store and they said that the company was going to call me because they thought they had the kickplates in storage. But then nobody has contacted me yet. The dent is not noticeable. But when I spend that kind of money for an appliance, I want to make sure that theres no dents anywhere. I got the stove delivered in December and it’s April. I know there was a backlog on them, so I was giving them the opportunity to catch up in the backlog and the whole bit, but this has a been a bit long. The other issue is that the knob on the right gets stuck sometimes and it doesnt turn on or off. You cant do anything with it. If I give it a hard turn, then it will go up or down. You dont want anybody that doesnt know the stove doing that. So this developed within the last two weeks and I have to call them in for that.

We inherited our Viking refrigerator when we bought our house. I heard that Viking was a sort of a higher-end product. When we knew the house had Viking products in it, that spoke well to us. Weve had our fridge for about two years now and I like it. It works really well and Im pleased. But we had this unfortunate experience at outset with repairs that needed to be made for the fridge to be at my standard because I try to keep things really nicely. Im pretty careful with things. The previous owner, on the other hand, didn’t take good care of things. He broke the handle that fitted into the fridge and we paid to get that done. The drawer at the bottom of the fridge didn’t have a cover on it which I couldn’t believe. We had that one replaced. The people at Priority Appliances in Vancouver helped us out. They told us how to remove the grill and keep it clean underneath. I get weary of parts breaking and the cost of repairing them. The gasket that goes around to keep the door closed keeps ripping. We replaced it once and I don’t wanna replace it again for another couple of hundred dollars.I hope our Viking last us a long time. It is much better than my LG fridge that I had before.

I spent $9,900 for a top of the line refrigerator. Less than 3 years later, both refrigerator and freezer do not cool past 57 degrees. It took 5 days to get Viking to tell me they wont cover it. They sent me 5 repair companies - two dont cover my area. One has kept me on hold for 57 minutes. All my food is wasted. This is on top of the fact that two motors had to be replaced in year one; the door had to be repaired in 18 months and all three plastic drawers cracked almost immediately. Do NOT waste your money. This is a TERRIBLE PRODUCT.

We couldnt get anybody to wait on us in the Vikings dealer close to where we live, so we went elsewhere. Its nothing against Viking, because this is a place weve been buying appliances for 30 years, and normally, when you would go in there, they would always greet you and ask you what you wanted help with. However, in this particular time we went in, we just got ignored. So we ended up buying at the closest dealer listed on the Vikings website that we felt had really good customer service and it was indeed really good. Im satisfied with the quality of the range and I like its usability particularly the fact that my wife can use the oven and all four burners at the same time. Its been a joy to cook on.

We purchased an entire suite of professional-grade Viking kitchen appliances. My wife is a very good cook, so she wanted a gas range with Viking as a name, and we thought the refrigeration would be good too. However, I just had somebody come in to repair my refrigerator cause its a defect. The drain was not designed properly, so it would basically freeze up or clog up at the end of the day and then back up. And then, I ended up with ice below my freezer tray. It would melt on the door below the freezer door and then get my floor wet. As a result, I have cupping on my wood floor. So, not only did I pay the repair company that just recently came over $170-$200, which I havent even been reimbursed yet for, but I also have damaged floor.I havent had Viking contact me regarding that yet, and that was something I was expecting a call on. I reached out to them first, and they informed me that if it was a sealed component, it would be covered under warranty but if it wasnt, it wouldnt be. I ordered a part for the snap tray from a repair company, and I asked about the refrigerator and its leaking characteristics. They mentioned that there was a fix for it, and Viking knows about it. A notice was sent out and apparently, Viking has amnesia with that. They dont know of any notice. Theres no recall, yet its clearly a defective product.

I decided to make the purchase and so far theyre okay. However, it is not cold all the way. Sometimes the freezer ices up a bit. And then I had to make sure that ice is not stuck in the ice maker because ice won’t come out. The ref is great, but it’s having twerks. I reached out to Viking Refrigerators but they wanted me to register everything first and then call back. Also, the dealer was just all about the sale and after that, he kept having a follow-up and a follow-up. I wouldn’t use that dealer again. The dealer I was buying from was having a weekend event and they had reps from different appliance companies. I didnt want the typical LG or any of the regular brands like GE Profile or KitchenAid. I had KitchenAid gas range before and I wasnt happy with it because the burner wasnt totally heating. It had a little gap, so I had to keep turning whatever I was cooking so it would cook evenly. I also had a GE refrigerator and that was awful. This time, I wanted something higher-end and so we decided to go with Viking. Also, Viking was still more affordable. I purchased a whole kitchen and all my appliances are now Viking. It looks great and it’s definitely high-end. The range definitely cooks evenly and Im happy with it. The stovetop has been my favorite feature as well. Overall, one can tell the quality of Viking just in cooling down the stove or the oven door. Having a Viking Range is something that Ive always wanted for quite some time. Theyre expensive, but at my age now, I am finally able to afford it. I enjoyed cooking and never had this stuff with a high-end range before. I enjoy Viking a lot. I like the six-burner. I never had that many burners before. I could do simultaneously more things on the stove instead of taking turns before. Theyre all have nice sizes too. With the classic, it is just a four-burner range, you only have two small ones. You couldnt put a big pot on it. Then youre limited only to two larger ones. With Viking, theyre basically all the same size. It gave me a lot of options. We had some issues with the installation from Monark Appliances which is the store where we bought the appliances. But after that, when we contacted Viking, they were quite helpful. We had four appliances we got from them and they helped me register all the products online. I got the tall, 36-inch one-door refrigerator with the drawer-freezer on the bottom. I got three of those. I got one for the basement and two for my kitchen. So, I put them side-by-side. We have a big family, and we buy a lot. The refrigeration’s going okay. After like a month, the one in the basement stopped working. They did set up service. Something was leaking up on top. So, they did schedule somebody to come out, and it took a while to get the part. Then, by the time the tech came out, it was three months later. So, there was no refrigeration usage in the basement. It was kind of a little disappointing that we had to deal with that. Also, whenever I open that one little drawer where the ice bin is, I always seem to lose ice cubes into the freezer. It shuts itself off, but I dont think it shuts itself off soon enough once its a bit full, or if the bin is not large enough that ice cubes tend to fall out whenever we open that door. So, that was something I wasnt too crazy about because now I got ice cubes on the bottom of the freezer that I gotta try to get out. I think theyre priced high because of these little issues. When you spend so much money, you expect it to be perfect. You dont expect these little things just happen the way they do. I would expect that on a very less expensive refrigerator freezer.

I wanted all my appliances to match. So I went and got the Viking refrigerator. My stove is really good but I see the refrigerator and I dont see the same quality. Im not very satisfied for the price I paid. The refrigerator has some issues. I have spoken to customer service and the year was going by and I thought I need to call them again. The refrigerator freezes food in the refrigerator area. But even at the bottom of the refrigerator, Im starting to see some sort of accumulation. The maintenance people are not very familiarized because the rep told me that down where Im from, there are not many people that own Viking. But the lady that does also had the same issues of food freezing. The handles are very wobbly. I constantly have to tighten them up. It doesnt have a feature in the ice machine where it stops after it feels that it has made enough ice. For such an expensive and quality brand, those features would have been looked into. They had to also repair, just within purchase, the deli meat door because it was off. It was crooked. Right away, they sent the deli door. But the guy hasnt even called me.
