Purchased a complete kitchen full of Viking professional series products in 2008. In 2011 the microwave quit working. In 2011 the stove top igniters are always trying to light a lit stove. 2011, dishwasher spray arm fell off (plastic broke). Ongoing is my fridge freezer side by side. Too warm on top but frozen veggies in the crisper. The oven always seems to take a little longer to get to temp then in 2014 would never get to temp. Have called the Authorized Viking distributor and have always been transferred around. I have been pushed to an authorized repair company and been fleeced for labor and materials. Dealer came out for dishwasher and after talking on the phone for an hour told me it would be over $500 to fix. I paid him for the service call and found the part online, and put it in myself. Took the microwave out and just bought a GE. No one wanted to work on the micro. Pulled the oven out of the wall, called the technician and he came out to troubleshoot. Told me the lower element was out. He quoted me over $550 to fix when the part came in within the next few weeks. I paid him the 140 for the trip charge and service call and found the element online for 111. I put it in myself. An absolute hassle and this is unacceptable for appliances that are supposed to be top of the line. Never, I mean never... NEVER will I ever buy another Viking product. Pure 100% crap. I have a mother in law apartment that does not have a single Viking product. Never have issues. I have Kohler throughout the main house. Hardly ever an issue. If there is one, I talk to KOHLER and they send me what it takes to fix. I cannot wait to remodel my kitchen!!!

Side by Side Refrigerator/Freezer Model FOSB 5422D - Beautiful built-in refrigerator freezer with ice dispenser in door. VERY expensive. Major design problem with icemaker. The basket holding ice has a metal part that connects with a plastic part to propel the ice into the dispenser. The metal part quickly destroys the plastic part, rendering the ice dispenser useless. All this within the first four months of use. The replacement ice basket has been on back-order for seven weeks. If and when it is replaced, I have no reason to believe the new part will enjoy a greater life expectancy unless Viking changed the design. If you intend to dispense ice from your freezer, be very wary of buying this model.

I liked the Viking brand and since my friends had their products, I purchased a Viking refrigerator. They were slow to deliver and it took a while to get everything moving. I like the French doors and the freezer on the bottom of my refrigerator. But my ice maker went out already so I’m a little skeptical about its quality. I have their stove-top as well and the metal piece has discolored on one of them. When I had the service man here, I asked him about it and he said sometimes that’ll happen to those black pieces in the middle of the stove, so I was disappointed by that too.

I bought brand new Viking Professional line 48 refrigerator and 48 Oven about 4 years ago. Since this was for a major renovation to our personal home, we decided on what was easily the most expensive appliances weve ever purchased. I liked that they are American Made, and figured that certainly Viking would stand behind their highest end products, and I wouldnt have to wait weeks for replacement parts from overseas (if I ever needed them). What a BAD DECISON! Since installing the Oven, weve had to pay for replacement of the main circuit board in the oven two times. Now for the Refrigerator: DDSB483DS6. This is the most expensive yet, WORST appliance I have ever purchased. (Im a builder, remodeler, and property manager- so believe me, Ive purchased many refrigerators in my career). The Ice Maker has been replaced twice. The chute where the ice drops from the ice maker to the door does not accept the shape of the ice, so it constantly gets stuck- and definitely DO NOT USE the crushed ice feature as it will freeze and clog this chute! The next hour or so the ice in the chute then melts and drips into the small holding tray which does not drain into the pan below the fridge, so it overflows and runs down the front of the fridge and onto the floor. Further, the pan below the fridge has continuously filled up to overflowing since day 1. To address this we had to create a calendar reminder to empty the pan every 3 days. If not, the water overflows onto the floor!Needless to say, my wood floor in front of the fridge is completely ruined. Over multiple service calls by the Viking Factory recommended repair company(s) to address this, weve purchased a recommended $500 heater element designed to evaporate the water from the pan, and multiple other expensive suggested repairs- all to no effect! It got to the point that I had a drain tube installed from the pan that leads the water outside the house! The latest unpleasant experience began in September 2015. The new Viking repair company (exclusive appliance Svce 770-888-9555- they are awesome!) representative came out, saw the issues and determined that there has been a defective gasket within the door. He explained that this is what has been causing the problems all along. We disconnected the water line to the fridge in order to stop the leaking (therefore, no filtered water or ice since September) while we waited for Viking to provide us with the replacement gasket. Furthermore, this representative made a few calls to Viking on our behalf to explain the cause and ultimate damage caused by this defective part. He took and submitted multiple pictures and written explanation of the damaged floor, and filed a claim on our behalf to have Viking pay to repair the damages. While we waited for the claim to process, the Gasket was finally delivered about 6 weeks later, only to discover that the replacement part was DEFECTIVE as well!! We were then told that the entire manufacturing run of these gaskets are defective, so the new expected delivery date for the new gasket will be 8 weeks later. Ironically, the same day we received this information, the Viking Claims Department contacted me to tell me that Viking had determined that the damage to my floor was not caused by the defective appliance!LONG STORY SHORT, Viking Appliances are the WORST I have ever owned, and even worse, Viking could not care less, and is apparently unwilling to stand behind their products at all. This is the first review I have ever written on a public forum, but if it helps even one person from suffering through this very expensive, horrible experience, then it was well worth my time.

I googled stoves and ranges and we liked the looks of Viking ranges and the reputation that we had learned that they have. It has great good quality too and the griddle is my favorite. The Viking dealer were all real helpful. Ms. Jordan helped us, and she was real good and answered all our questions. They delivered the range, and then we hired somebody to have it installed. Overall, it’s a great stove.

Viking has a good reputation, but weve never used a Viking refrigerator, so we didnt know what to expect. The refrigerator has been better than what we thought, and it was well priced. We went by the brand name, and so far, we havent been disappointed. Weve had our Viking since November 20th of 2018. We purchased the product from a Bellevue Albert Lee office, and they were great to work with. They were very responsive and helped us make the right selections on our appliances in general and the Viking refrigerator in particular. Weve been very pleased with the Viking refrigerator. It meets our needs. I like that it has a really good size freezer and ample compartments. The way the compartments work and the way were able to access and store food products has worked out well for us.

I have owned Viking appliances before like the stovetop and the double oven in my previous home and now in a different home, my Viking refrigerator is doing great. It keeps everything cold and the frozen food frozen and makes ice. Weve been well pleased. I had an excellent experience with the Viking dealer, too. I do real estate development work and have used the company Ferguson for a lot of things and they do an excellent job. Their guy is very knowledgeable. He can answer all the questions and was very helpful to make sure that we were fully informed on what we need to be informed on. It was good price and he handled everything perfectly. Viking is high quality, top-of-the-line and a great product to invest in. They did the gas cooktop in a good way for a modern look. Through the years, they kept it looking the way I like it. Its of great quality, too. I had a great experience thats why Im buying a Viking again.

We got a Viking Range and one of the burners is not working. The place where I purchased it, Ferguson in Pasadena, sent a repairperson to come and it turned out one of the modules was not working. They were surprised that the module wasnt tested before it left the factory. We ordered a module and they are scheduled to come out and replace that. Also, some of the knobs with which I turn the range are starting to become really sticky and its taking a bit of force to turn them. Usually, when I turn the range on, I push it in, turn and then Ill hear the clicker start and the burner will come on. Now, I cant feel whether Im pushing it in or not and the turning isnt as smooth. Otherwise, the burning is fine. Ferguson was very helpful in getting the repairperson and with scheduling. If something like this occurred after maybe a year or two of use then I would say Well, maybe the product was kind of defective and using it made it fail. But this is right out of the gate, less than 30 days. Im having to deal with these two situations in a premium range. I have the Viking hood and microwave oven. Theyre all working fine except for this range which is not living up to the Viking reputation.

The reps influenced us in a way to buy the Viking versus any other. I wanted to go to Miele, but I would have to pay for transportation and for installment. Viking Ranges was quite a good deal at that time and I could get the dishwasher for free. We bought some extended warranty and I thought I could negotiate it and I think it was cut a bit too much. It was my fault though. Other than that, Viking range is an excellent product and we had a very good experience. I like the simplicity of Viking ranges. I had one with all those lights and buttons and electronic stuff and I wasn’t happy.

This pertains to Viking microwave RDMOR200SST over the range unit. Purchased 12/12/13, installed 12/26/13, broken 1/18/14, lasted less than a month. Being in the HVAC field, Im very familiar with many brands, reputable and not so reputable. I recently read a tech article about Vikings new owner (CEO) and it seemed very promising. Boy was I wrong and he has a quality control/customer service nightmare on his hands. I have dealt with many companies in the field and this is without a doubt the worst. $650.00 microwave and the micro switches I found in this unit I would not have used in my daughters $5 toy. Youre probably saying, Why did you fix this yourself, you voided the warranty. Have you ever seen some of these morons they call appliance repairmen? Believe me, I have and I wouldnt trust 95% of them. Problem - wife shut the door and the micro circuit tripped, reset, breaker held but the micro was dead. Dissembled (only takes 2 minutes) and noticed 4 micro switches mounted on a cheap plastic rack, one of the switches the plunger was stuck in the down position. Upon inspection, the contact of the switch was welded together. These switches are rated at 16 amps, there is absolutely no way this switch holds 16 amps, no way. This is a fire hazard and a design defect. I removed all four switches and replaced with Ormon micro switches and NO THEY ARE NOT MADE IN CHINA , they are made in Japan. If I would have had warranty service tech perform this, they would have used the same cheap factory switches and the problem would have been reoccurring and caused more damage to the unit. For all of you do-it-yourselfers out there, change all of these switches out with quality ones. This will solve the majority of your issues with this unit.

I bought my first Viking in 2004 with my inheritance from my grandmother. I always dreamed of having a professional kitchen. I purchased all Thermador except for my Fridge. I have a Viking 36inch drawer freezer on bottom. Never ending recalls and issues then I purchased a new one from the company on a recall. The man showed up with the new unit and fixed the recall on the recalled unit. Well, that was in 2011, it is now 2017 and guess what? I am in the same shape as I was before. However, no deal. I have fallen on pretty much deaf ears. You can even YouTube funny skits about it, but the techs will look at you like you are the only person in the world. I have a mental block on that beeping noise when the compressor goes out and I am about to lose all my food. Good news though, I just found out they are indeed suppose to defrost themselves. So, if you are a gambler, like taking chances... maybe just maybe you will be lucky enough not to deal with what I have. Cheers!Updated on [05/06/2018]: I wanted to follow up with all the promises that were made to me. Well, that just did not work out so now I have a trusty 159.00 freezer from Sams Wholesale Club and my ice cream is now frozen. I found out that well they had also replaced the parts they replaced while I was ill for a pretty penny and they are still claiming no fault. However, my Thermador products are working like a charm and I will be investing in their products. Please learn from my experience... when you buy expensive products make sure the quality and customer support is behind you. I have no problem paying... but don’t give me Magic Chief with a Viking name on it. Not to mention treat me like a human being. I work hard for my money. I’m sure even Viking would not tolerate what they do to their clients.

Ive known about Viking Refrigerators for a long time. We purchased a home recently that had a built-in refrigerator and it had a sub-zero that was not working. I went over to Best Buy to check some stuff out. I knew they had the Pacific Home in there so I went in and got the Viking fridge. We had a rocky start because when they came and delivered it, the refrigeration door was approximately a half an inch lower than the freezer door. And there was no adjusting it. They had to basically come out, take the door off, put some spacers underneath the one side to level it out and get it all to work right, which is pretty frustrating for a $12,000 refrigerator. At first, Best Buy said, Well, youre gonna have to call Viking. and I said, Im not gonna call anybody. I bought it from you so you guys can figure it out or you can come pick up your refrigerator and Ill buy from somebody else. And they figured it out. The lady I talked with at the dealership was very helpful. When she wasnt available the day that I called and there was an issue, she called me the next day. She also called me after the follow up when they came out and fixed it to make sure everything is okay and did a great job.Everything is great. I do like that all the shelving on the doors is all metal instead of the flimsy plastic. We have a separate ice maker so we don’t really use the one inside of it too much. It doesnt seem to hold a lot so if that was our only ice maker, that would probably be a downside for us. Overall, the refrigerator is very solid. Were looking to hopefully buy an in-wall oven and a dishwasher from Viking soon.

We bought a Viking stove, hood/microwave, and dishwasher when we remodeled for our dream kitchen. Each appliance has had problems. First the bottom of the utensil basket disintegrated. It was flimsy and brittle after a few months of use. Brand specific replacement, $70 from our local appliance store. Fewer than 20 months later the control panel on top acted up. The appliance repair person said it would be at least 6 weeks to get a replacement part, if it was even available. It would cost, with installation, over $300. The stove has had several problems, the microwave/hood has problems. None of this was covered under any warranty. For a low end product the performance would be poor. Because its expensive, wed say it was abysmal.

I originally purchased a different brand of refrigerator and I wasn’t happy with it. I needed to have it exchanged and I went with Viking since I got a wine cooler and a stove from them before. My Viking refrigerator is fine and its quality is very good. But its size is a little bit small and there is less space in there with the kind of depth it has. Also, its freezing at the top part of my refrigerator when I put things up there. The serviceman said he had to order a part and he was supposed to come back and replace it, so Im waiting. But so far, everything is very good and working out okay now, and I would recommend the refrigerator to people. Although I was not very happy with the sales people when I bought the first refrigerator, I would recommend the store to anybody.

It took a month for us to figure out that there was something wrong with the stove and then realized that it wasnt closing properly and that the hinges are broken. My Viking stove was purchased in 2001. We have had issues with it ever since. My stove has a double oven, both of which have required several repairs. The self cleaning on each oven has broken twice, and the heating elements constantly burn out. Both heating elements are now burned out, and I have been without a working oven for four weeks. Of course the heating elements have been on back order all this time, and nobody, including Viking, has a clue as to when these heating elements will be back in stock. Its probably fair to assume that if these items are currently on back order, then many Viking customers are having the same issue with their stove as I am. Each time I call for repair, its a minimum of $350. What a waste of money, this purchase has been for me. The Viking Corporation is an absolute mess, and I continue to tell anyone who is willing to listen, my sad, but very true story. Never again, will I purchase a Viking.

We had some problems with it when we got it and we got the runaround from Viking getting it repaired, so it was kind of an arduous process. I purchased an extended warranty from the company that we bought it from and when we had the problem, we called the extended warranty company. I liked Vikings reputation for quality, specifically the range. I live in an all-electric home and adding gas would’ve been pricey. I got a high-quality range still within the parameters of my house but purchasing with the Viking dealer was the one bit of a dark spot. Appliances Connection wasnt very good at communicating the timeline for the reception and the arrangement for shipping was not great either. The communication on that was poor. When they finally scheduled the delivery, they told me when it was going to occur and I waited two hours after the fact. I was waiting at our work site since I don’t live where I was renovating. I finally called them to see what was going on. They said that the shipment was delayed and that they weren’t going to deliver it that night. It was 10 p.m. after they told me I had to wait, so that was frustrating. Nonetheless, the range looks incredible and I’m very anxious to test it out in cooking. Also, we liked the color options. It was silly, but it was really nice. We picked the graphite gray and it’s perfect. Although the dealer and the delivery were a little frustrating, everyone was professional when they delivered and they did a really nice job of getting it into the house quickly and safely. They had the tools to do it well.

In our kitchen, we have a Viking cooktop and a Viking dishwasher. So, when we moved into this house, we decided to go with Viking to complete the set and for the quality. I purchased a Viking Series 5 built-in refrigerator through Best Buy. It was delivered and installed, and it was working fine for about two days. Then, one of the hinges seemed to have broken on the door. I went back to Best Buy and told them about it. They said they would order a new one and have it delivered, take the old one and send it back. This was about six weeks ago and the new one was supposed to show up yesterday. I got a phone call in the morning saying that it was not gonna show up. Its been quite frustrating to call me the day its supposed to arrive and tell me that it was not gonna come. They scheduled a day that it might come which is for August 28th but I got three different emails, which all say 28th, 29th, and 31st. So, I dont know what day its actually coming at this point.Originally, I thought it was only gonna be five weeks. So, they offered for me to purchase a substitute refrigerator until the other one came in and I could return the substitute at a later time. If it was gonna be another five weeks, we can live with it but the door thing has been getting progressively worse to the point where Im the only one in the house that can shut it. Its a 48-inch refrigerator, so its a heavy door. You can lift the door up to get it to shut and it seals once its shut. Also, to add insult to injury, when you pull the door down of the Viking dishwasher, theres a rubbing noise and you have to sort of push it a little. So, Ive been trying to call the appliance vendor that we got that through, but I cant get a call back from them. When Viking works, it’s great. But when there’s an issue, it can’t get resolved. And Best Buy is throwing Viking under the bus saying that they were the ones who didnt deliver it.

Viking is the better brand and I give it a high rating. I like everything about my stove and it is very nice -- premium stoves do not have a lot of push button screen on them as those are problems and they are not made for heat. I had a premium brand once and I threw it out as I did not want to fix it again. So I bought a Viking. Visually, it is nice, including its knobs and color. Initially, when I did my research, I did not even know where they are from as I thought they were manufactured overseas. But when I went to purchase it and I started doing more research, I found out that they are all over New York. We needed a new fridge, and we heard that Viking was a good model, so we decided to buy it. But ever since we’ve had it, it has been giving us nothing but a problem. We’re working with Best Buy to have it replaced as soon as they can get us a different model or unit, not even Viking. The compressor seems to be humming a lot louder and unusually higher. So it’s this annoying, high-pitched hum that we constantly hear. Also, the alignment of the bottom freezer drawer is a bit off. They tried to replace it with different Viking units from different warehouses, but all of the refrigerators had the exact same problem. So we did not go with a replacement, and we came to a mutual decision that we’re gonna have the Viking taken back by Best Buy and have it replaced by a completely different brand. We got the 36-inch freestanding unit and it is absolutely not one I would recommend. Best Buy asked us to reach out to the manufacturer directly, and they came over and saw the unit, and they didn’t really do anything. They told us that they were not gonna be able to help or do anything here and that we just have to talk to Best Buy. So while they were polite, they were utterly useless.

From the time I bought 2 top-of-the-line Viking dishwashers, I have had problems. I am noticing that most people in this room experienced similar laissez-faire attitude from Viking who must have bounced me from one representative to another a good 5 times over the years, only to tell me that my warranty ran out. One lady tried to help me but was swiftly replaced and I never got the attention this needed. $4500 spent and most wash (all of them) end with error/fault codes and need resetting. This message, I hope, will discourage people from being lured into believing that Viking is a stand up company and that they place good emphasis on making sure the client is taken care of. Additionally, where I think they really should rethink the way they treat clients, is that in my case, I am looking to replace refrigerator, freezer and 60 inch cooking surface. They will be missing out on this (however small) amount of revenues. If anyone gets thru to management or customer service for any kind of help, I would like to know about it as I am not yet able to replace it for a competitor and would still like Viking to make me whole on this bad purchase.

I bought a new Viking 48” side by side fridge freezer 10 years ago and had the kitchen built around it. It looks fantastic and I felt pretty smug thinking I had a sub zero look but for a fraction of the price. However, 2 months ago it suddenly failed and started heating up rather than cooling. Here is the problem - I’m in the UK and Viking no longer trade in the UK. Despite contacting Viking numerous times I am yet to find an accredited engineer that will touch it. Quote “ I used to work on them but it got so difficult to get parts”. I found a local engineer who has serviced it and replaced the refrigerant but it is still faulty and now he tells me there must be an internal leak and therefore impossible to fix. So I have a £6,000+ fridge freezer which is useless and being more than 300kg in weight I don’t even know how I can remove it. To date Viking has offered no advice or help. No customer service whatsoever.

When I shut the freezer door of the Viking refrigerator, it hangs up about a half an inch on one side and then I gotta slam it in. Its also overheating. Then every time I open the freezer drawer, the ice bin flips out on the floor, it goes backward. The machine rubs on the top of the ice because the ice bin is full and so the ice flips out. Now Ive got to open the door very carefully so I dont get ice on the floor because my floor is not in yet. But if I normally pull the door, it would do that. Viking could have designed this a little bit better.I called the retailer, Freds Appliance, immediately for repair and they said theyd get somebody out. A week passed and nobody called so I called again. The guy asked if somebody called me and I said no. He said that hed get right on it. Then another few days passed and we finally got a call. The people are not coming out till the 28th so Im dealing with the door being crappy. Im not happy that I paid a lot of money -- cause I bought the fridge, the oven, the dishwasher, the microwave, the icemaker, the range from Viking and then I gotta deal with this. Its not fair because Ive just had it for two weeks.

We just had our nice kitchen remodeled beautifully so, we wanted to get a nice refrigerator. Ive seen Viking refrigerators in different rental properties weve been in and also, some friends have had it. Weve always had different brands like Westinghouse and KitchenAid and we thought we wanted to step it up a little. We got a Viking and I love it. It looks very nice and the size is beautiful. Weve never had a freezer on the bottom and a double door before. Also, we never had an ice maker before so its very exciting. Viking is a beautiful product and Im very happy with it. I would definitely buy them again.

I bought a refrigerator, a dishwasher and a range based on Vikings reputation. Their appliances quality is good. I like the power burners which is like 15,000 unit burners. However, Vikings customer service stinks. I had a problem with my refrigerator. When it was delivered, I couldn’t use it for two months. I spoke with a customer service rep and it was very hard to get the pieces. I waited for two months. Now it’s finally done, but I must have made 30 or 40 phone calls. I was very unhappy with that.

I had a problem with my door. I was given Absolute Parts Repair as the service agent. I have ZERO complaints about them (especially Brandi ** who was an absolute delight to work with!!) BUT I have 2 complaints about Viking Parts Service. It took more than ONE MONTH to get the new door to fix my brand new stove. I finally called directly and talked to a gentleman who said my part should ship in 2 business days. IT DID NOT, in fact there was no part but rather the next time I called Viking Parts directly, I was told that they were manufacturing a whole new door. The second experience was good with Melody **. She kept me up to date and watched my order but honestly ONE PLUS MONTH for a part?? Luckily my kids have moved out but to not have an oven for more than one month is not acceptable as far as I am concerned.

My husband did some research on the ranges and he said that Viking was rated high. We had a wonderful experience with their dealer, and we got a refrigerator, a microwave, a dishwasher and the hood and the oven. The appliances are of good quality, but weve had a couple of issues with the microwave door as well as the hinges on the oven, which we had to have replaced and has already been handled.

Everything is fantastic with my Viking range. The brand was associated with high-end quality, durability and functionality and I wasnt misled, thats for sure. I really liked the fact that it seems like a commercial kitchen, but yet there are some modern aspects to it. It works how I want it to work. While I dont anticipate purchasing another one anytime soon, I have no doubts that if I ever needed another range, I would be coming back to Viking.

Ive known about Viking forever and as a matter of fact, the brother of one of my friends in Iowa used to be a distributor for Viking. I had a GE Profile that broke down after about five years and I was not about to put any money into it, so I thought Id invest in a Viking. Ive dealt with the dealer, Abt, before for other things and I got my Viking refrigerator from them. The guys who installed it were absolutely wonderful and they tried not to scratch floors. They did a good job and it was first class as far as installation. While the water for the GE was hooked up with plastic, the Viking has a nice metal flexible pipe. Howeve, the bottom drawer broke apart when I pulled it out. A gentleman came out, looked at it, and said that theyll send me a new one. They sent another drawer out and so that was no problem. Another thing also is that every time I looked at the temperature on the GE, it was the same temperature on my little thermometer. On the Viking, the temperature jumps around so it does things differently. Still, it runs quite a bit more than my GE ran.

I had a Viking refrigerator in my first house and then I got a new one now. It looks magnificent but I cant tell if the quality is better. My last refrigerator did not break twice but the new one did. The freezer and the refrigerator doors should stop at about 100 degrees and both of them broke, which happened twice. The parts werent in stock and it could take 2 weeks to get them. And now, its already been six weeks to get it fixed and Im still waiting for it to get repaired.

I had a Viking range in my last house and I liked it. I like gas cooking. However, when it came, the front griddle was scratched. Viking put in a ticket for service to get that replaced. They came out once. The tech couldnt do it. Came out again. He couldnt do it. Came out the third time with the replacement burners. Instead of being the silver, they were rose gold. Came back a fourth time. Now, this is only being here to make sure he could get in. In the meantime, also the griddle came. It was rusted. I just got that griddle three weeks ago after purchasing back in August. I love the product but the service was horrendous. I have all Viking in my house. I got another French door oven, the dishwashers, the microwave. It was terrible. A lot of my time spent trying to get things fixed that I shouldnt have been spending time on. Nobody listens to me.There was so much trouble trying to get the stove in and get it to be finished that I almost said to them, “Come and take it back.” Putting in tickets, waiting here for people to come to the house during COVID. Coming in, he couldnt fix it. Hours taking the whole stove apart, putting stuff all over the floor. Meaning that when his visits came, like the one time he came at 4:00 and I would start cooking dinner around 4:30, he came until 6:30. A lot of little problem things that shouldnt have had to happen. And then they give you a window of eight hours that they will be there. So, you take a day off work. That was just the messy part of it. I did that three times. But the products that they make, I absolutely love. Ive had them in my last two homes, and I have a 48- inch stove fuel and I love it.

My dishwasher was recalled due to fire hazard. It stopped working. They would NOT fix it for free. Then silverware basket fell apart with very little use. I called Viking in Concord, CA and spoke to a woman who works for Viking. She said she could order a replacement silverware basket for my tenant (The house and dishwasher is hundreds of miles away so I had no idea of its size.). I paid for the basket and was told it would arrive in 3 weeks. After two MONTHS, it had not arrived, per tenant. I called the appliance store and they called the lady in Concord and she said it had been shipped out twice. However, this proved not to be the case at all. When I spoke to her, she said that due to the fact that the dishwasher was 4 years old and discontinued, she couldnt find any baskets. She had none available and had made no progress in finding me one. She never once bothered to contact me, or the store for two months to inform of us of the situation. She could not give me the size or any helpful information so I could search for it myself. I went out online and found a website that locates parts and I had one ordered in 5 minutes. After I spent $20,000 on VIKING appliances, I have much regret. I will never buy from them again and beware, this is how they will treat you, too.

We had a very easy experience purchasing the Viking range from Hahn Appliance. They had stuff displayed so we were able to look at the range and it was nice. Im loving the quality of our range so far. Were a few weeks into our home using it and we did a whole lot of cooking. Also, I love the gas and the French-open doors for my oven. I also think its pretty cool how the lights all light up at night. However, if I need to put cookie sheets in the built-in refrigeration in a longer way instead of side-by-side, they take up the whole shelf. The built-in refrigeration needs to be a bit deeper so I could slide the sheets in. Still, Id recommend Viking.

After only 1 1/2 years my Viking range began to smell like gas when the temperature was set below 300 degrees. I had SoCalGas come out to check it and I was told the gas emission was at a safe level. A couple of years later one of the $62 lights inside ceased to function. Finally, the last straw, at the age of 5 1/2 years the oven didnt even heat up past 110 degrees. I had it repaired one week ago by having the spark igniter replaced, as well as the light. The oven worked only once after that. I have had other ranges in the past and not one of them has been as sub-par as this Viking. It is pretty to look at, but thats not the point is it?

We had a Viking refrigerator for 15 years and it was built-in. It was good until it conked out. We had to go with the same refrigerator because we happen to have certain size constrictions. I called Viking because we needed a specific size and I was checking on all the measurements on the 48-inch. The gal told me that it should all work out as far as the fit because we didnt want it to get here and not have it fit in its space. I also asked about the pricing so that I knew I wasnt going to be ripped off. The new refrigerator is updated and it seems to have a better seal. Theres also supposed to be a thing inside where we never have to clean it. Id like my refrigerator to last longer than 15 years because its expensive. Thats like 1,000 a year when you add it up and I dont wanna have to pay that for a refrigerator. They said that the new one supposedly is gonna be lasting longer. Im hoping thats true and so far, it seems to be fine.

Then they had a person who came out and examined the range. After that, they exchanged it. The process took a week or so and it was very quick. I used to be a decorator in New York but now Im in Portland. I was doing caregiving for my mom, but I got her into renovating and I wanted to upgrade the whole kitchen. I wanted a sturdy commercial fridge that would still look nice in a residence and Viking Refrigerators already has the reputation. In addition, I like that the interior parts of their refrigerators were metal and not plastic. I had a simpler fridge the first time and I was amazed at how quickly the plastic parts started getting smashed when a bottle fell. I went to Eastbank Contractor Appliances. They represent a bunch of different companies, and what I liked about them was that they team up with Basco Appliances here in Portland. They picked all the brands that they like the best and put together the showroom. So you get good people who are seasoned in the industry. I trust them and they helped me go through everything. So far, I like my fridge and Im very pleased with it. I love the lighting when you open it up. There are lights all over the place. Its LED so I dont worry about wasting energy. Even though Viking Refrigerator was expensive, its worth the price. Its worth it to get something thats going to last because it just pays off in the long run.

We purchased an expensive D3 series Viking oven thinking that paying a LOT more (than ie a Samsung or Kitchen Aid) will offer us a lot better product. WRONG!!Yesterday midnight we heard a loud noise in the kitchen. Short story we went to the kitchen and found the décor front oven black glass on the floor shattered in a thousand tiny pieces (the oven was off!). We babied this oven and it has low use!! I mean we babied it like our own eyes!!I called several places that carry Viking authorized parts to replace the glass at my expense (even though I am most sure this was a defect on the glass that on the long run stressed out) and I was SHOCKED to hear that this is a special order that the factory no longer makes. SO I am now stuck with an originally $4,000+ boat anchor that we cannot use due to the fact that Viking, supposedly a very high end American manufacturer decided not to sell replacement parts anymore. I have had several other ovens during the course of my life. MUCH lower priced i.e Samsung that NEVER - EVER had an issue getting service, replacement parts and certainly not a single one had a glass explode on its own. This is TOTAL GARBAGE - stay away from this manufacturer and buy other appliances. UNHEARD OF!!!

I have a Viking freezer and a refrigerator and I haven’t been really pleased with either one of them. Ive had the refrigerator for eight years and it was the refrigerator of the home that I built. The problem Im having now is the coolant and there was some defrosting in it. The technicians had replaced it and tore this thing apart, but Viking sent them a defective part. When the technicians found out about it, they had already drained all the stuff out of the refrigerator and started putting it back together. The refrigerator has been down for a week now. We’ve been looking for parts for three months and it’s just not been a good thing. The refrigerator door doesn’t close right and the guy was trying to work on that too. The freezer seal has always been an issue as far as the white trim and we’ve replaced that a couple times. The refrigerator itself is fine, but as far as the room goes and the expenses, I’ve had a lot of difficulty with it and the freezer. Ive had the ice maker repaired and its been a terrible experience. In the summer of 2018 we purchased a Viking range model VGR5606GQSS, serial number 081018C10297709. It is a 60” 6 burner, double oven, grill and griddle gas range. We purchased it from Fred’s Appliance in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for our all new kitchen remodel. We have a large family was and this was chosen to provide for our needs especially on holidays. This is where the nightmare begins. This is a short synopsis, as I am an aerospace engineer I have hundreds of pictures of the failures, parts replaced from service calls and lots of documentation, emails, Viking parts book, if anybody wants any of them I will be happy to provide it.1) Shortly after installation, October 2018, the first thing that was noticed was the smell of gas, not a huge leak but noticeable every time walking past the unit. Not long after that we discovered the right side broiler did not work. Now comes Thanksgiving with about 40 people assembled for a happy time. Well what do you know the left oven was not working and we had both ovens running with something in each. 2) On the subsequent service call form Fred’s the first tech did not even know how to work on the unit and had a terrible customer service attitude nor did he even bring a gas sniffer or a way to move a 750 lb stove. We were also told by somebody at Fred’s that some gas leak is normal. Also moving the 750 lb. stove alone he damaged the floor under it. Nothing was fixed on this call.3) The second service request was for the same 3 items, Gas leak inside someplace. Right broiler will not stay on. Left oven acts up sometimes. 4) We did not see any service personnel again until March 6th 2019. A whole team from Fred’s showed up and managed to verify there was in fact a gas leak. It was caused by an improperly installed ferrule on a gas fitting on a regulator on the right side of the oven from the factory. Two issues of concern here, the first the leak was fixed not by replacing the faulty tube but tightening it really tight, the second if you look at the end of the tube it has been cut and not deburred allowing small aluminum chips to possibly enter the regulator and jam it up.. The second is that workmanship at the factory is substandard. Not only was this not checked for leakage at the factory, this leak would have been easily detected at the factory. Pictures available on request.5) So now we have only one of three items repaired. We still have a right broiler issue and a left oven issue. A note here when the left oven stops working the LED by the control flashes 4 times then pause and repeat and nobody not even at Viking knows what that means. The temperature control is made by ELAN Industries, and I believe the part number is EC021006, again pictures are available on request. 6) Now along to the service call on 6-26-19 hopefully (but did not) solve the oven issue(s). Here we are one year later and the left oven is doing the same thing. On 6-26-19 a team from Fred’s arrived again in a convoy of service trucks. This time their goal was to replace the ignitor boards on each oven hoping that would work. The boards are made by Invensys Controls P/N 100-01720-00, (recently acquired by Schneider Electric). They are a microprocessor based board using the PIC16C58B microcontroller by Microchip. They are 120V powered and receive one of two command signals from the oven thermostat telling it to open the gas valve and ignite the gas on either the oven or the broiler on that oven. Each oven has one. Again pictures and schematic available on request. This has resolved the right broiler issue but NOT the left oven failing and not restarting again until it is cool and giving the unknown 4 flashes code.7) We were told by one of the service technicians on one of the visits from Fred’s that if we wanted quality we should have chosen a Wolf range. There is something telling about that statement and I have heard it from others. 8) Now it is getting close to Thanksgiving 2019 for another large family gathering. Brent from Viking and Freds appliance came out Mid November 2019 and replaced the oven controls and changed the orifice on the left oven to a smaller diameter. This did stop the four flashes of the LED but caused a natural gas smell whenever the left oven was on for an extended period of time, it took about 30 minutes and gradually got worse through the house. This triggered a service call from Brennan at Northern Appliance to come out and verify the gas smell, which he did and reported it to Viking. Later just before Christmas Brennan made another service call to change the gas orifice on the left oven, back to a larger one, (the right oven works great). This solved the gas smell, however Christmas dinner was a disaster as the left oven 4 flash issue was back and we could not use the left oven as it would not stay running. 9) Now we initiated another service call over a year and the left oven still will not work correctly while the right one does and the parts list shows them both having the same controlling parts. So I received this e-mail from Jeff the service manager at Fred’s Appliance. They can’t fix it so they are taking it back and refuse to sell us anything now or in the future no matter what brand. I’ve been tasked with informing you that the manufacturer, and Fred’s appliance are working together to refund your range and the 8” back-guard accessory purchased with it. We will make arrangements for an installation company to work with your schedule to remove the range, and we will credit you back the full purchase price for those items upon return. I’ve attached a copy of your invoice and the total to be reimbursed is $14,181.69. The manufacturer and Fred’s appliance management have concluded that it’s not within our best interest to ship out a replacement range because it’s likely that a replacement will not address your on-going concerns. We are initiating return documents and an independent installation company will be in contact soon. Thank you, Jeff

I have been doing some online research for a while on professional cooktops and was looking at Viking and Wolf. I liked the style and the look of Viking and from the reviews that I got, it sounded like they provided superior customer service and they backed their products 100%. I feel that the quality is really good too. But presently, Im running into an issue because the installer didnt install the unit properly so I havent been able to use my oven. They had it plugged into a 120-outlet while my oven requires a 240. Were anxious to really try the oven but its not getting powered enough. But as far as the gas part or the top of the 40-inch range, its phenomenal and we totally love it. There is consistent flame starting off the burners, theres consistent heat, and its quick how Im able to whip up a meal. I wish I would have bought one sooner.I bought my Viking from Ferguson and I have mixed reviews for the original distributor. It seems like they didnt give the attention that they really needed to give to Vikings product. However, the people that Im working with now are trying to rectify the situation. They seem to be really on it and on top of everything. Other than that, Viking has been very responsive. Right now, Im really happy with my purchase and I would buy some additional Viking products at this point in time.

I liked Vikings name and reputation. The quality of the range that I got is excellent. I really like the six burners on the top and the control that I have when Im cooking. However, cleaning the range is like an event. I dont like doing it very often because its so much work. I have to take all the six burners off individually and have to clean them. Then, I have to take those little things underneath the burners that catch everything. You have to take all six of those off and clean them, then dry them after which you wipe down the stove. You then take everything out from the crumb catcher underneath.Ive had other ranges where the grates are one piece, you pick them, lean it up against your backsplash, wipe it down, put it down, and youre done. With this range, my husband and I always yell about whos gonna clean it. So, consequently, we just let it go. We would clean it maybe once a week cause I cant do that every single time I cook. I just wipe it down and wait until Sunday to clean it.

We chose the Viking range for the BTU that it is putting out. Ive also heard that they are very long-lasting. They professional ranges compared with our standard ranges. I love everything about it. I love the broil temperature that they have in their oven. I love their racks because it slides out, while with other brands, it doesnt. If they like to cook a lot at home, Id definitely suggest picking a Viking over anything else out there if you like to cook at home.

Unit kept freezing up. After 4+ service calls and after talking with a technician that knew his stuff, he told me unit has a design flaw. We purchased a complete Viking kitchen which included a range top, downdraft hood, a dishwasher, a Dutch oven, the refrigerator and the convection microwave. We’re satisfied with everything except for the refrigerator because every time you open the freezer, the ice overflows to the floor and I think it’s a design flaw. It doesn’t happen every single time, but the ice builds up and theres no back on the refrigerator, so it goes straight down and falls on the floor. So, somebody has to get to the floor and pick up the ice cubes. But I like the digital controls of the fridge and everything else is fine. Im very surprised about this one item and I know that LG makes their refrigerators so that may be the issue here, but I have heard only good things. I did a research because I know that previously, there were problems with the Viking refrigerators, and I was assured that that had been taken care of. It may be a minor adjustment but weve only had it set in place for three weeks, so weve been dealing with it. If it continues, then Im gonna rattle some cages.

It’s been the worst nightmare that I’ve ever experienced on an applianc
It’s been the worst nightmare that I’ve ever experienced on an appliance with this amount of money. I had a Hardwick oven when I bought my house in 1985. I replaced it because we couldn’t get parts with it, and I needed a whole kitchen. So I figured I’d buy really good high-end appliances. So I bought an Electrolux refrigerator and then a Bosch dishwasher. I got a Viking electric wall oven, convection microwave, and a range. I’ve had problems with the range coming in cosmetically. There were a lot of inherent little scratches, and they took care of that. I couldn’t get it to work as well. For some reason when you put it on convection bake, it shuts off. It’s got a mind of its own and this is a $5,000 appliance. Thank God I bought it from ABW because they’ve been wonderful to deal with. After a year and a half, I had every single part replaced three times including cosmetic parts. The other thing is every time they come in and they would take it apart, the repairman would inherently scratch the surface or would chip on the bottom because it’s porcelain-lined and has to take the bottom out. I also have to check and put my hand over the vent to see if the heat is going on and I shouldn’t have to do that. So I finally convinced them that it’s a lemon. Viking had their representative come out from another repair place because they didn’t believe that the people at ABW were handling it properly. The representative replaced the part and it still didn’t work, so Viking replaced the range. The second one was a little better. Then when I turned it on and off, I still have the same kind of issues but I can’t go through a repairman coming in my house for another two years. They need to fix it. It’s a damn oven and it doesn’t work on the convection bake cycle. I like the convection bake cycle, that’s why I bought it.I probably have the biggest file on them. What’s really bad is that I found out later from another guy who delivered that this Viking range has problems and they just wouldn’t admit it. There’s something wrong with it and its motherboard but I have no idea what it is and I need it to work. It only came with a one-year warranty, but they promised to give me a two-year warranty on the replacement because of the issues that I had with it, and I haven’t heard anything from Viking. I reported it to them because I thought it would be a learning experience. The other thing is the cooktop. We bought it because it has steel burners and a porcelain back top. I cook nothing but the condensation of the water. With the other top I had, it stained in two places when the condensation of the pot hit the water. It was a mess. But this one seems to be better. I haven’t had problems with the convection and I haven’t had operational problems with the electric, but this gas has been a huge disappointment. If it lasts how long it lasts, I will never buy another Viking product again. It’s like it’s possessed. It’s supposed to be high end and not a cheap appliance. I wish I had my 30-year-old Hardwick back. Otherwise, I’ve had no problems. It’s a beautiful-looking appliance. I would never recommend to a friend to buy a Viking. They’re coming on Friday and would be replacing the two cosmetic parts that were scratched upon delivery. I have to stay home from work again for them to come over. This has been going on for almost two years. I have my daughter who’s an attorney and I was going to sue them. They had two contractors who came out and two different companies who said that there’s nothing they can replace it with anymore. They replaced it, but it was a fight.

Both our built-in freezer and refrigerator were purchased brand new with extended warranties. Freezer constantly breaks down and the technician cannot fix it right away and they have to keep coming back to change parts and still it take 3 to 4 weeks sometimes to fix it. That is why I purchased a spare Kenmore freezer used for $200.00 and it works better than my $5000.00 dollars Viking freezer, it does not break down. The refrigerator is falling apart. All the drawers are all broken or cracked from change in temperature and the warranty does not cover bad quality products. In short my recommendation to all Americans is dont buy Viking, it is a very bad company with a big line of bad products and bad customer service. My previous built-in refrigerator and freezer was Thermador and I did not have any problem for 24 years.

Two year old oven breaks down 3-4 times - We purchased their top of the line double oven range. Within two years one of the ovens has stopped working. Viking has sent out two companies to fix the issue, but one has refused to take on any more Viking range service calls because they cannot obtain parts from Viking. Thanksgiving was very disappointing because Viking was unable to supply the service company with parts even though the service call was place in September. We were told that Viking was doing inventory; therefore, was unable to send out the parts. After contacting Viking, the person I spoke with stated that the service company should not be sharing the information with me. It is now December 4 and still the parts have not been shipped to the service company. Yes, Viking has beautiful appliances, but they are not dependable. We will never buy another Viking product again.

We had a horrible time with our Viking when we first got it in. I contacted Viking and they got on the ball and got the range serviced. I liked the people I dealt with. Also, the range cooks good, although Im not used to the oven yet. It seems like my cakes and stuff have been all right but with biscuits, Im having to put it up on a higher temperature to even get them to brown good. That bothers me. And the quality inside the oven kind of disappointed me. The racks from the other stove that I had were more of a quality than the ones I have now. Also, in the book, it says to use just soap and water for cleaning but that wont do it all the time. That worries me. Its very important to have a product that you can clean with other than just soap and water.

We got several appliances at the same time, so I had to interact with Viking a couple of times. They’re doing great. If I had the opportunity to compare some side by side over the years, that would be nice, but we didnt, so we spent the money. Although there’s a little insulator flap on the door of our fridge, and it’s got a little rip in it, the fresh drawer that you could set the temperature to is a good feature. We went with Viking because it was highly recommended but the doors of the range we got were off and they would stick out to one side. The quality was horrible. They brought me another one and I told the guys to make sure that the unit is okay before they remove the one that I had. When they opened it, the guy said it’s worse than what I got. They took it back and brought me a different one. The one I ordered was a Series 5 and when the man came from Viking, he looked at them and said he was gonna move me up to a Series 7. It still had a little bit of a problem but their guys came and removed the bottom plate and kind of played with it. Now, it works perfectly. It took about a year until I finally got the one that I presently have. I had to go and buy an induction hotplate. Whoever is putting these things together, their quality control people are not doing a very good job. The range is wonderful but the experience was terrible. After paying so much money for a range and then have to deal with so much drama with it, I wouldn’t do it again. My son is building a new house and I told him to not get into a Viking stove.

I like the look of Viking Refrigerators and it was a right fit for what we needed. So we got a package deal from them and ended up getting two refrigerators. They’ve been great up until a month ago where unfortunately, one of them malfunctioned. The refrigerators are in our vacation home, and the gentleman who came out and checked it said the foam came loose and got caught in the fans. There was no coolant happening and no fans were going off, and it was heating up the temperature so all of the fixtures on the doors cracked from the heat. The food in my refrigerator also cooked for about two weeks, so it took 11 hours for the cleaners to get it cleaned and it still smells.I was still hoping that Viking will get it fixed, but parts have to be ordered and the gentleman who came out and told me to put coffee or charcoal in the refrigerator also said that the inside of my refrigerator got cooked. Its now beige and is off color. He said if I can live with that, then my refrigerator will probably be okay. But I was asked what I wanted and I said Id like the refrigerator replaced because it’s clear that theres something wrong and they came out and confirmed it. But theyre going to send all the pieces to put it together, and thats very silly to replace all the stuff as I don’t think my refrigerator is going to be all right because of the inside coloring. Its going to cost them as much for each of those drawers because everything inside the refrigerator wasn’t metal and most of the shelvings cracked and completely dropped to the bottom of the refrigerator, smothered in whatever food I had there, and it was just not good.My second Viking refrigerator, a small one that’s on the counter by my stove, also decided to kick out, which is weird because Viking is usually a very good product. The tech said he’s seen it on three others in his time and he’s worked for 20 years on Viking, but he’s never seen it this bad. So I hope they do the right thing and replace the product because it clearly was faulty. I think its a great product. Its sleek and I loved it, but Im still a little frustrated. Its been two weeks and I haven’t heard anything back, so Im going to call and see what was happening with my refrigerator.

We purchased a Viking microwave, range/oven, dishwasher, and refrigerator in February 2008. The appliances were beautiful. Unfortunately, they did not last. Between February 2008 and November 2012, the oven had to be repaired twice. There was an issue with the temperature gauge both times. In addition, the microwave/range hood required multiple service visits, and at one point Lakeview (the authorized repair facility) took the microwave back to the shop and replaced every working part in the appliance in order to get it to function again, according to the repair person who worked with us. The microwave completely stopped working in 2010, and we purchased a temporary countertop microwave to use. In 2012, the dishwasher completely broke down and was irreparable. In 2011-2012, I repeatedly contacted Viking Customer Service and attempted to get our microwave repaired again. After numerous unsuccessful attempts to get any sort of information or resolution (multiple emails went unanswered after I provided the information requested by the customer service agent), I contacted the Better Business Bureau. After Viking was contacted by the BBB, a representative contacted me relatively quickly. But Viking would only offer to cover the cost of the parts needed for the repair and would not cover the cost of repair, although we had already paid for the microwave to be repaired more than once. Lakeview, the only authorized repair group in our area, charges $180 for the first hour of service and $90 per hour after that for repairs. In the end, we ended up sending the appliances to the junk yard and paid $1000 for a temporary microwave and dishwasher from GE, both of which function just as well or better as the Viking appliances when they still worked. We are now waiting for our Viking refrigerator to stop working. The water and ice dispenser in the door has already stopped functioning very well, so we do not use them any longer. In addition, the temperature in the freezer occasionally fluctuates for absolutely no reason. Sometimes it is 5 degrees, sometimes it is 0 degrees, or some other random temperature.Additionally, when we purchased the appliances from a licensed vendor, we were informed that we were eligible for a small rebate for the appliances. We verified that we were eligible with the manager of the vendor, who confirmed that we would be able to obtain the rebate. Viking refused to honor the rebate. We will never purchase Viking appliances again, and we make sure that we advise our friends, family, colleagues, and acquaintances to avoid the companys products as well. When we redo our kitchen in a year or two, we are planning on purchasing our appliances from Wolf and Subzero.

One time, we were doing routine cleaning and it was very dark in there even with the light on. I turned the flashlight and I could see that there was a scratch. For the price-point we paid, it shouldnt be scratched already. Its a year old. I called somebody and he took all my information. I bought stove of my dreams in 1997 after waiting decades to be able to afford it. It is a Viking 6 burner/with griddle (which I wish I hadnt gotten), double gas ovens. Since day one the ovens smell like gas while on. I have to run my ventilator while the oven is on to keep the odor under control. I have had several repair men, always changing the igniters. The part is $16.00 on Amazon by the way. I pay a lot more than that! Anyway it has never fixed the problem. It makes me think twice about using the oven as I have to listen to the noise of the vent for hours if I choose to bake or roast anything. I am truly disappointed with this range and after reading all of the other reviews realize that Im not alone. I would never recommend any Viking product. I wish I had never gotten with this stove. My first choice was Wolfe, and I was talked out of it and into Viking!

Viking Refrigerators could pack a little bit better. When we pulled it out of the box, there were one or two dents on the front of the fridge that happened when it was getting taken down off of the warehouse and shipped. Also, it makes a little bit more noise than a conventional refrigerator but I’m assuming that’s because of the size of it and the inner workings. Whenever we noticed that it was running a little bit louder than we thought it would, we would call them to come out, look at it, and make sure there was nothing wrong with the fans or anything like that. And it was super easy getting somebody out. Overall, the quality of the refrigeration has been pretty decent. It has sturdier build quality, the doors close better, and the drawers inside of it slide better.

Purchased Viking 48 wide by side in 2002. Compressor went out within 6 months, thankfully was under warranty. There was a door recall a few years later AND then another recall for those doors! The company that replaced the doors are familiar with Viking fridges and were able to to be somewhat helpful, suggesting we not place anything within 8 inches of any of the interior vents. We have NEVER been able to get the temp right. We have never been able to keep our fruits and veggies in the produce drawers as they become frozen. If we turn the temp down the milk goes bad, etc. Several of interior the plastic parts have broken under normal use: handle portion of ice maker drawer broke off in my hand, lid of bottom meat/produce drawer snapped off. Now the fridge lights have gone out (all simultaneously.) Try going to the Viking site to find a manual or worse yet parts. Everything there is SO difficult! They sent us a manual and I was able to download two, but none of them show the same control panel as what we have, since when there was a door recall, we received a new control panel as well... I feel sorry for the people that work for Viking. I will never purchase another Viking product. We purchased a high end Thermador range and KitchenAid Micro-Convection oven the same year and have had no problems with those appliances!

This is the worst refrigerator on the market. In the 2.5 years we have owned the unit, we have had the following issues: handle broke off the ice drawer, handle broke off the vegetable crisper drawer, the hinge that keeps the door from hyper-extending has busted twice, the fan went bad, AND on top of that there is a faulty design with the circulation system that is supposed to circulate air from the freezer to the refrigerator -- it causes everything on the top shelf of the refrigerator to freeze, so we cant put anything on the top shelf (I talked to many Viking employees who admit they are aware of the problem and theres nothing they can do about it)! I just called customer service to plead for a new crisper drawer since our warranty just expired and it is clearly a faulty design. The handle is not secure on the drawers and breaks off very easily and they said, No, you will have to pay $213 PLUS shipping and handling for a new plastic drawer. The last refrigerator we owned cost $10,000 less and we didnt have a single problem in 10 years. Please dont buy a Viking refrigerator!

I make a cake, slide the racks out and the racks stick and go off the track. They dont slide in and out comfortably. And then, I have a vent above the stove and I have glass in the back of the stove instead of stainless steel. My husband pushed the stove too close to the glass so the first time I used the oven, the glass exploded. Also, its very busy to keep the top clean because it doesn’t have sealed burners. It has grates that I have to take in and out and steel wool in between every little crevice there on the top. I have adult sons that are slobs when it comes to cleaning so it’s an extra effort for me to keep this range clean on the top. I would have looked at something different and paid $1,000 extra and gotten a sealed burner. But I got what I got and I use S.O.S Steel Wool to keep the top clean every day. Otherwise, the stove is terrific and I like it.

Viking had a real good reputation and it’s considerably more expensive than others so we expected a lot more from it. But right now, were on the fence about it. We found out the range was damaged when it was installed and we had the local vendor, AllSouth, come out and look at it to see what the deal was. They said it could be fixed and it could be 5,000. But even if we replaced it, they were somewhat reluctant to say they feel safe with the internal portion of the gas part of it. That made us still somewhat reluctant to use it.They handed it off to Viking and Viking did not call us back so we had to call them and they apologized. They said they were sorry the other guy didnt call us back and that they have cameras that look at the production process so it couldn’t have been on their part. But the end result is we paid almost $7,200 for the range and its damaged. Im not real happy with Viking and I was real disappointed with them. If I had to do it over again, I would not go with them. Its been somewhat of an uphill battle with Viking and AllSouth and were hoping that it will be rectified.

Im a general building contractor, so I research every refrigeration system I can find. I had an existing cutout where I had a Sub-Zero refrigerator from years past and the Viking box size was almost identical to the Sub-Zero that I removed. So far I like it very much. It keeps everything cold and crisp the way its supposed to, and its exact in the areas that its supposed to be and in the areas that its not supposed to be that way. Its an intelligent machine. I especially like the icemaker and the pizza box shelf at the bottom. Their products are good and as advertised. For the price and performance, Viking would be my number one suggestion.

We had Viking Refrigerators in our last house. So when we renovated, we wanted to have it again. The quality of the Viking refrigerator has been my favorite and it has been good. I got a French door refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. We worked with the appliance place and I thought the interactions I had with the Viking team were great. Id recommend Viking.

I saw Viking Ranges a few times and I liked the quality that it provided and how everything was cast-iron, durable. I like to cook so I told my wife if we’re going to upgrade the kitchen, I’m going to go all-out and get the stove that I want. Something that blended a little bit and had that commercial, restaurant look, and Viking was definitely a factor and their warranty was a big reason too. It is what I was looking for. I also looked at some of the higher-end products but I thought of just getting the one that I want with a higher quality. I got the 30” Series 5 and I like its broiling infrared feature. I also bought a range hood for the top. I already told my wife that if we sell the house, they’re either going to have to pay cash for the appliances or they’re coming with me. I went through Elite Appliance and the shipping was free and the delivery was on time. They had it tracked for me. I got a good deal on my 5 Series. So, I was really happy with them. I would definitely recommend Viking Ranges to whoever is upgrading their house. I know it’s hard. People don’t want to spend that kind of money on a stove. My wife still thinks I’m crazy, but every time somebody comes over, it’s the wow-factor. They walk in and say, “Wow, it’s a beautiful stove.” It makes the kitchen almost like a chef-style kitchen and that’s what I like about it.

We bought the freezer and refrigerator from Viking 12 years ago. The freezer is still doing great but the refrigerator went out. It would freeze up, and one of the default wires were loose. We hooked it up and then it had another problem. When I called in with problems, they were good about helping to get somebody to look at it. I had two different Viking certified people come out to work on it and they took it quickly apart, defrost it totally and then put it back together and say my drip pan wasnt lined up properly. Both times someone came it cost me $800 each and the second time I decided to just replace it because itll be cheaper in the long run. When I got the new one, the door seal on it would not seal. We travel a lot and we come back home and see that there would be rust inside our brand-new refrigerator. It took three times to get somebody to figure out the problem and fix it and had it slamming shut. Were loving it now. It’s great. The new lighting is so bright and pretty and I really like it. The fridge isnt pretty when you open it up and you see this $9,000 refrigerator with rust inside it, but its still a good deal.

It took a lifetime and a half to get the range because of COVID. Once we got it, it sat in the garage for a while while we waited for things to happen in the kitchen that were also delayed for a while. Then my contractor and I installed it with no difficulty whatsoever mostly because he knew what he was doing. The quality control of the range is great. Theres one little tiny nick in a piece of have stainless steel and weve got one of the burner knobs that sticks ever so slightly. The Viking range puts out ferocious heat so we find ourselves turning the gas down more than turning it up. But thats just a learning process. Were learning the tricks with the multiple things you can do with the oven. My wife is on a very restricted diet so she bakes with weird stuff rather than buying things that are baked elsewhere at the store. She loves that oven.
