We needed a new fridge, and we heard that Viking was a good model, so we decided to buy it. But ever since we’ve had it, it has been giving us nothing but a problem. We’re working with Best Buy to have it replaced as soon as they can get us a different model or unit, not even Viking. The compressor seems to be humming a lot louder and unusually higher. So it’s this annoying, high-pitched hum that we constantly hear. Also, the alignment of the bottom freezer drawer is a bit off. They tried to replace it with different Viking units from different warehouses, but all of the refrigerators had the exact same problem. So we did not go with a replacement, and we came to a mutual decision that we’re gonna have the Viking taken back by Best Buy and have it replaced by a completely different brand. We got the 36-inch freestanding unit and it is absolutely not one I would recommend. Best Buy asked us to reach out to the manufacturer directly, and they came over and saw the unit, and they didn’t really do anything. They told us that they were not gonna be able to help or do anything here and that we just have to talk to Best Buy. So while they were polite, they were utterly useless.

I was all the way around looking at different places and I ended up buying the Viking fridge through the kitchen design place that I used. One thing that was attractive was the breakdown in price when I bought four appliances. I like the quality of the Viking fridge. It does the job well and I like the design. However, when the ice maker is in ice making mode, the arm is down and the drawer is full, then I open the drawer, a whole bunch of ice gets pushed out to the back and on to the floor. When I slide out the drawer, the arm takes some ice cube with it. Theres gotta be something that wasnt done quite the way it should be because I always have to put the ice maker arm up when I can see its getting full. Its not really engineered very well there and I wish that was a little different. But I like the way it looks and the way it feels sturdy when I use it.

Besides finding out that their side-by-side refrigerator is the biggest disappointment in home appliances, I found out that their customer service is the same! I had some warranty repairs done by Vikings preferred service provider and during the work, they installed an upgrade kit for the refrigerator. Months went by and we would occasionally see water under the unit. Our warranty was up so we had a different service provider come over to estimate what was wrong, a service provider we found out later that Viking had put on their list of preferred repairers. The service person found that while the unit was under warranty and the upgrade was installed, the wiring was preformed incorrectly causing the refrigerator to leak water underneath, damaging the wood flooring in the house. I called Viking on the subject and they first told me that they would not cover the faulty workmanship so I complained that it was their provider that I had used. They gave me a case number and told me that they had 24 hours to research the case and they would call me back. They did not call back and the case was left unsolved. The Viking company does one thing very well, disappoint their customers! This is not the first time that I have had the experience of poor service from Viking. Buyer beware.

I got a whole kitchen package two years ago. Ive had some things break on them but every time Ive called, Ive had great customer service under the warranty in getting items replaced. So, its never been the issue. My husband and I put houses for a living and we decided to put Viking in one of our high end properties that we do. When we went to the International Builders Show, we stumbled upon the owner who was speaking at the first day to a group of people and were intrigued by his speech. So, we decided to solicit the package about trying to improve the quality of the product. Viking is comparable to Wolf but Wolf is still slightly ahead as far as quality. I have a 60-inch range, refrigerator, dishwasher and hood and theyre all Viking. I like the griddle in the range but I hate the indoor barbecue. I wish I had the double griddle. If I could switch it out, I would. So, that was my huge mistake but its fine. I just dont use it because its too much of a mess.

I am aware of the Viking name, and quality made me purchase from them over others. I’ve been very pleased with the performance of the unit. The four burners are very fast to ignite. The range has met my expectations, with one exception having to do with the temperature of the oven not being accurate. If you set it to 350 degrees, it is not 350 degrees. It’s actually around 325 degrees. Viking ranges are very nice, not necessarily all of them, but we’re very happy with the style and appearance of the Series 3 model. We purchased it online and it was easy to navigate the website.

My stove didn’t work very well on Thanksgiving. We leave the bird cooking in the oven and weve put a timer. But when we go check it, the oven was off. We turn it back on and it lights on. And then when we go back to check, it was off again. That happened three times. But I have no complaints over their services. Overall, Id still recommend Viking.

3 or 4 times now (Ive lost count!) the freezer drawer has broken after just opening it. Just from pulling it and opening it! The first time we dealt with it the Service company came to fix it. Well, it’s been fixed and it has broken in the same exact way with the same pieces breaking 3 other times!. We paid a lot of money for our Viking appliances, expecting a superior product. To be honest, viking products are GARBAGE! GO ELSEWHERE! We’ve had nothing but headaches. It is extremely disappointing and aggravating. And Viking customer service is non existent and not at all helpful. Do not buy a Viking appliance!

Ive had Viking in a previous home 15 years ago. At that time, I liked it better than anything else that was comparable of the professional series. However, theres one thing that some of the other ranges have that Viking didn’t and maybe still doesn’t have, and that’s different sized burners. My wife makes espresso every morning with the little Italian coffee pot, and all of the flame diameters are bigger than the actual espresso pot that were using. So we have to put it on the side and it uses about a third of the flame and two-thirds that has nothing. I know that some other brands have ones where the back burners are small. It’s the only thing that I wish was different. But I like that Viking is sturdy and uses gas.

We were trying to do a fixer-upper and we needed to renovate. Then, our realtor recommended Viking to us and we consulted with them. We went to a showroom in Reno, New Jersey and we also saw some from P.C. Richards. We did some research online to know what models we like then, we went to the showroom and ordered Viking. Their reps were all good as they know their products. We talked about what we wanted and they gave us a number of options and recommended all the different products. They gave us the pros and cons of each and the price point too. It was informative. However, we had a couple of issues. We ordered a professional range with a Viking label on it. So, we called the person and complained about it. Then, they sent out someone to fix it and it was fixed yesterday. Also, the LED light was not working on one of the double French ovens for some reason but the oven was working. The guy who did he fix said he would submit another ticket for us to order the part then they will come to fix it. Other than that, the quality of my Viking is good. I am happy with it and compared with Sub-Zero, which is one of the main competition, Viking has a good price. It is also well embossed.

Viking Ranges was one of the higher-end ranges in the store where we bought it. Having the same size burners on all four on top was attractive to us and the ability to clean up the top compared to some of the other ones. It didnt take long to install the range but we had problems with it for almost two months. The stove wouldnt light on the first try and it took several tries for it to light. We had a technician in. He had to come back four times before he was finally able to figure out what was wrong with it. It was easy enough to get the reps. They come and do it, and think they had it fixed. Wed call them back and then, it would take them a week to come back but they were good to deal with. Were generally happy. The broiler is amazing in it.

I bought a house and a Viking range was already selected by the builder. So far, I already had to call out the technicians because some of the rings did not ignite properly with the spark. It seems the igniter is extremely fussy about the distance of the conductor the spark starts from to either the inner circle where the gas comes out of or the outer circle, which is to stop the food dropping down into your stove. They are two pieces of metal and if its too close to either one of them, then the spark does not travel enough distance in the air to actually ignite the gas. Basically, you cant switch on the gas using that igniter. Its a bit of a pain in the neck. When it stops igniting, you have to go and try and work out if it is too close to the inside or to the outside. You try and bend the thing. It would be really good if they had a bit of a more reliable electronic ignition for the rangetop.I also got the microwave, the refrigerator, and the dishwasher. The refrigerator came with a dent in the door while the dishwasher has some sort of plastic piece that is hanging down from the door. The door that you open to the dishwasher is hanging there. I dont know whether it wasnt installed properly. Ive looked in the installation manual and it doesnt tell you what to do about what that is or where it should connect. The other thing about the dishwasher is its a little on the noisy side. We had a Bosch 800 series before that and that was near silent. We had Miele before that and that sorta cleaned better than the Viking one does. The microwave has a bit of a strange design. Its one of those drawer microwaves so you’re below the waist level. Its not very easy to see what buttons to press. The most common thing you want to be able to do is to be able to open the microwave drawer but its really hard. With every single button, theres no way to feel without getting down, bending, and looking for where the open button is. Its not in an obvious place. Its doesnt stick out at all and you cant do it by touch.Bizarrely, there is a separate open button and a close button. Why on earth do you need that? They could have just had a double-sized button that combined both. You might actually have a chance of pressing it without going searching for it. There is a bit of a usability problem. In order to open or close the microwave, you have to locate these tiny buttons that are the same size as all of the other buttons. And theyre right in the middle of the touchpad so its not something you can find without looking.

We’ve had our old Viking Range for at least 14 years. We did some comparisons this time but still ended up with Viking because of our past ownership. The quality of the new range is top-notch and it has the ability to do the low simmer on the burners, which is really nice. In the oven, the slide rails are really nice, for the racks, too. The Viking dealer was terrific, knowledgeable and very nice and we had done a lot of background research so we didn’t really have many questions for them. However, we had a problem with the oven igniter so we called them back and they had somebody out to fix it the very day that I called. They were completely supportive.I love the burners and the oven itself and I’m getting used to using convection. The old oven didn’t have convection so I’m playing around with temperatures. I really like the new ranges quality and some of the features but there could be some improvements. One of those is the oven fan runs for a really long time after I turn the oven off and it is annoying to have that constant fan there. The oven window and the oven light are really miserable. There might be better ovens out there, in terms of the oven light, oven window, and that annoying fan. But other than that, it’s really nice and sure is pretty.

Back in 2013, I was going to do a remodel to my house kitchens with a centerpiece. It was gonna be open to all of the appliances and we’re going to be in view in the open area. I was looking for a bit more than the GEs but there’s quite a few to choose from and Viking was close. The Viking range is excellent. It’s the leader of the pack and we’re so happy with it. The burners can be quickly assembled for cleaning purposes and I like their layout. The range is very serviceable, very durable, and the oven is fantastic. The racks in the oven are extremely easy to move and work with, very heavy and it gives me a lot of confidence working with them. The stove has a dent in the back for the heat to come out and that creates a primary heat in the backslash. I don’t think there’s another stove out there that would beat Viking but they’ve got to get rid of the heat somewhere. There was absolutely no service calls on the range. It’s been perfect and it’s amazing.

The ice machine in our Viking Refrigerator doesnt work. Ive had a service technician out because its still under warranty but they cant get the parts. They cant even confirm when theyre going to fix it. I’ve known Viking products for years. In fact, all of our appliances are Viking. We got the lower end model of refrigerator. Im not an expert on refrigeration, but I dont think that its up to par with other units at its price range. Their upper end models may be totally different but the ice maker design of this unit is not good and it needs to be changed. We cant pull the drawer out because the bearings had gone bad. So, the ice making location or the way it works is not good. Now, I cant even get parts for it but the parts are backlogged. They said its going to take over a month to six weeks to get them. They need to keep these parts in inventory. I can understand if theyre not readily available that day but I hope we could get them within a week. Six weeks is ridiculous. They cant even confirm when theyre going to get the parts, and theyre saying hopefully by Thanksgiving which is not good.

We love our Viking Refrigerator so far. The size is great because it is a really tall one. And of course, side by side is good. The only thing is that the side door where the butter is held, on occasion, if I put butter in there whatever keeps that door closed isnt strong enough and it pops open and the butter falls out every once in a while. But overall the refrigerator is restaurant quality, and Viking is professional. And when I originally mailed in the warranty and I had to call because I have the wrong address, whoever helped me there was wonderful.

Ive worked with AJ Madisons, which is who I ordered the refrigerator through, and that was a terrible experience. My product came so late. It was promised to me like months before I got it. We had a new $8000 refrigerator from Viking. Over 5 years we had it repaired 18 times. The refrigerator was recalled so Viking charged us half price for a new one about 8 months ago. This evening - all of the food in the freezer is now thawed out. The refrigerator is not getting cold. Youve got to be kidding. Even the replacement of the recalled refrigerator isnt working now after 8 months. We have an old GE refrigerator out in the garage that weve had for 16 years and it still works perfectly with no repairs in 16 years. Bought two Viking refrigerators in 2006, started using them in 2007 and encountered major issues while still under warranty. We just replaced the door gaskets for the third time at a cost of $700 (parts and labor) for one of the refrigerators, but we totally needed them replaced because they ripped apart and refrigerator door would not seal. So far we had replaced: bottom set of fans, gaskets, computer panel, ice maker, and door hinge. The refrigerator freezer unit door still swings open by itself, always have to hold on to it otherwise it can hit person behind, which happens. Interior plastic bins all show signs of cracks. Water evaporating fan has stopped working on one of the units. Water breeds mosquitoes unless you clean tray by removing from panel screws.Today, second time in the past month that the unit started beeping because freezer and fridge temperature reached high temperature, meaning refrigerator stopped working because unit iced over inside. We emptied out the unit and will let all ice defrost for two days and then hope it works again. I will never buy another Viking product of any kind again and truly hope they go out of business.

I was looking for a new range and I saw the Viking Range in the store and I really liked the look of it. We have known the owners of the store for a really long time and it was also the best brand that they sold. There are a couple of things that I was disappointed with like the front panel looked like it wasn’t finished correctly. It looked like it was almost rusty. But they ordered a new panel for that. And the first time I used it there was steam and something got in between the glass so they feel that the seal on the oven door wasn’t really correct and they ordered a new glass for the door. So we had a couple of issues but it’s my first experience with a gas range and I really like it so far. They are taking care of the issues so I’m pleased. Those things can happen to any range but I really like the gas burners. I really like the little LED lights underneath that shine over the knobs and I just really love the overall appearance of the whole thing. I love the grates -- they’re very heavy and heavy duty and quality looking. And I think the soft closing door is really nice.

We have had our Viking stove for about 8-years (it was part of the home when we bought it) and if I couldve replaced it after the first year... I would have. Its an overpriced over-hyped piece of junk. In the first year, we had 4-service calls on it. The cooktop grates were unbalanced and wobble. When you turned on the gas to full high it smelled of gas. Two of the knobs cracked and broke within a few months. We ordered - more than once - new grates, some of which were fine... some of which still wobbled. In response to our complaint about the gas smell we were told just dont turn it on so high. I couldnt believe it! We had to BUY new knobs for a ridiculous price! We complained that the red light indicating the oven was always on. After trying to figure out what the problem was, we were told to just ignore it. AMAZING! We finally got an outside source to figure out what the problem was. He was not fond of Viking either! The configuration with the ovens so low, it is back-breaking trying to get anything out of there. The shelves dont glide smoothly in and out of the oven. And Customer Service is pretty terrible, as well. We get the impression that once weve purchased the thing they couldnt be bothered with us anymore. Overall, I really am quite disappointed that a company that sells such expensive tools for the home doesnt really stand behind their products. We had problems with another appliance - and were treated pretty terribly as well. After much wrangling, we returned the device - and got our money back - but I can tell you... it wasnt easy!

I bought a new home and the Viking refrigerator and the freezer were purchased by my builder through a supplier. I like the space because its a full-size refrigerator and I have great lights on the side of the inside of it and along the top, so its easy to see things. The fridge looks nice but Ive had some issues with it. It was making a terrible noise and then it went away. I didnt get around calling the repair people. Also, I was working and while I was away on vacation and my daughters were home this summer, the refrigerator lost cooling. So, the repair people came and they had to replace the circuit board which was odd. Prior to that, we had some drips in the back of it and then it went away and now its back so I have to call someone again. Its an expensive refrigerator and Im disappointed in its performance when it has, supposedly, had a good name and many years behind it. It has failed a couple of times and its only a year old.

Viking ranges are known and they are aesthetically better than their competitors. I had to reach out to them to confirm and they responded to me saying that the delivery is gonna be delayed by a week but it wasnt a big deal. We got the professional series and its quality is good. One igniter wasnt working well and we called up the company and they sent someone quickly. The service was good and it was covered under warranty. The burners themselves leave stains so it’s weird given the price point of the range. If something goes on it and I dont wipe it immediately, which when I’m cooking Im not gonna wipe it immediately, it leaves a stain. They need to improve the quality on all the burner caps. The gold burners are beautiful though, the heating is great and it cooks up really well. Our experience with the Viking range has been good so far.

We bought our Viking range when we built our house and wanted good range. So we purchased a 36 with a griddle and 4 burners. The problems started 3 months into the lift of the range with the oven igniters failing. After 2 of those calls ($600), I started replacing myself with Viking parts, and soon switched to non OEM parts from Ebay that actually lasted longer. Spent some time on the Viking service/support line on the root cause and was told that I probably had dirty power, so I had a electrician check it out and reported all was fine. I have not mentioned that the burners also burned through and needed to be replaced twice in the course of this as well as well as the burner igniter that never stops sparking after the burner is lit. The hinges on the oven door have now broken and rather than spend a couple of hundred dollars on this, we have decided to finally invest in a new range. It is most disappointing when you spend nearly $6000 on a range, but when you have to put in $500/ year to keep in working properly, it is just ridiculous. So today, we have decided not to invest one more penny in the stove and go shopping for a new range. Sad to say, but the experience of the top notch Viking was a very bad experience. I long for the old gas range from our last house. The best part is that this is my first online review. As I was looking for new ranges, I just happened across this discussion and if I can prevent one other person from wasting their time/money on a Viking range, I have done a service. I wish someone had saved us.

A Viking range was in the house when I bought it and I haven’t had a good experience with it so far. It cooks well when it is working but I got a knob that broke off and I have to get a burner replaced. There’s a place of service in my area, but I haven’t had the chance to get it scheduled yet so the range hasn’t been fixed yet.

My Viking range cooks great and very fast, too. Its a beautiful appliance however, I don’t believe theres a timer on this thing to time anything. I don’t like the fact that when I turn on the oven, theres a blue light that comes on but theres no signal that says when its gotten to the proper heat where the blue light goes out. And I have to be basically sitting on top of it to know the proper heat. Ive had other ovens that will beep when they’ve hit the right temperature. The other thing I don’t like is the ergonomics of it because I have to bend over to read the dials to see where theyre at because my particular range has a little bit of an overhang to it and the dials are underneath it. That’s a very minor thing but an important one to me.

Viking was on sale and that led us to have a look at it. The construction of the range and the write-ups on it seemed generally good. Although, the one in Consumer Reports sucked and so it caused us to think about it. But I chose to ignore their relatively negative reports on the range. The sales representative was a very knowledgeable guy and took us through not only the Viking Ranges, but several of the other competitor ranges to look at the different features, trade-offs, and sort of helped with getting rid of some of the marketing stuff that doesnt matter as much as the functionality. We love it. Its been nice to use and cooks really well. The only thing that were having some trouble with is a piezo igniter on the front left. I was wondering what to do about that because it doesnt work very often at all. I might need to have somebody come, have a warranty look at it. But other than that, its fabulous. Were enjoying it and would recommend it certainly to other people.

We got a Viking refrigerator that was a brand new floor model even though I’m a die-hard Sub-Zero girl and I only like Sub-Zero. If I would have paid about $10,000, then I wouldn’t have been super thrilled. Then during delivery, we got a leaking seal on the freezer that we needed to deal with. But I haven’t dealt with that yet and I’m assuming that’s under warranty. Also, if they were gonna sell a $10,000 fridge, then they have to make sure that it has dual compressors where one gets the fridge and the freezer. So while I’m not super happy with the Viking, its overall quality of the refrigeration is good. My produce seems to keep not quite as long as the Sub-Zero but the Viking is better than a standard refrigerator one buys at Home Depot. The lighting is also very bright and good.

We purchased it at Ferguson in Scottsdale and the gal who helped us there, Veronica, was very knowledgeable and she had great suggestions. Also, she knew what she was doing and I appreciated her input on appliances. I had a Sub-Zero one time, which I hated and I tore it up. On the contrary, I love my Viking refrigerator and the freezer. The quality is fine, its fairly modern and it has nice LED lights. P.C. Richard was the dealer and they were professional and very good about it. The only thing I was a little disappointed is that it didnt have any cold water coming out and I would have expected that for a $3700 appliance. But overall, its a nice refrigerator and I would recommend it.

The stove has been nothing but a headache. This oven worked for literally 5 months then stopped working. We attempted to fix it with experienced repair men but after changing the spark module and the ignitor, still nothing. What the heck have you manufactured Viking. For $5500.00 all we have at the moment is a hunk of metal with a $660 repair cost to boot to the original cost. Thanks for taking my money out of the bank and tossing it in the garbage. I had a Viking for a dozen years, and I wanted to fill the space where it came out, so I got another Viking refrigerator that is about the same model to fit back into the built-in site. The people at the Viking dealer were very professional and knowledgeable. My experience of getting a new one, getting it put in, and getting it working was about as painless as it could have been given that the people who came out to do it have to come up to a condominium setting in downtown San Francisco which is not trivial. This particular Viking fits my needs because of the space I have to put in. I like its size and how it looks. Its a good size refrigerator, its narrow, and the width of it is 24 inches out so it doesnt stick out in the room. It does a good job. The first one should have lasted longer than it did. I had three major repairs in the last three years of it. I hope this next one would last longer.

The rep was very knowledgeable and had a lot of experience, but it probably came down to when we knew about the really good price on which we got it. The quality of the range is okay although its not as well-thought-through as we might have thought it would be. The inability to effectively clean it is the most disappointing part of it. The technician who came out and serviced it knew what he was doing. He once said this is a known issue, and it just came with the range. My husband’s a contractor and Viking was his choice. He had clients that had put them in their homes multiple times and he, for whatever reason, liked them. I’m very happy with the Viking appliances but I wish I could keep the fingerprints off my refrigerator. And I had done without for so long, I’m just so happy with the stovetop I have. Also, I love having the six burners of the gas range. However, there was a complete lack of follow up from our salesperson. It was worse than bad, if that’s possible. We had a horrible fire in October [Novato, CA brush fire, October 2017] and maybe my sales rep somewhat got evacuated for a week from his home. That’s a really bad thing but someone should’ve been there to take care of his clients while he was out. And we didn’t have any kind of customer service prior to that and even after that and there were delays. So I called his boss and they compensated us on something. We were looking at the Wolf, and it was out of my price range. And the only reason I looked at the Wolf is because of its name in the industry. When we went to the store, the gentleman pointed out that its not necessarily the best product on the market. Its just got a following and a name. It was my first time purchasing a gas stove and he showed us the Viking. He told us a little bit about it and the features, and it had a model that they were actually discontinuing and it was a really good deal and we picked it up.Even our renovator who installed it said, This is a really good oven, because of the way it cleans. The grill of Wolf is tight so its harder to clean. With Viking its so easy to just pick up the grill and wipe it and its done. I love the product. You can really control the heat and Ive never cooked with gas before. I was reluctant, but its a lot more controlled in the heat in how you cook so I like it.The rep was also really good and knowledgeable and not pushy when I first went. He educated me on this. So check out the product because the Wolf and the Sub-zeros got its name in the industry and then everybody wants one, but they don’t realize that theres this other product that are just as competitive and has better price points that are equally or if not, better.

Ive been using Viking for the past 13 years but I dont think Im gonna buy Viking appliances moving forward. I was very happy but not anymore. I have lots of properties and in most of them are Viking. I like the design of the refrigerator but in the past three years, the refrigerators are very bad quality. They just keep breaking down and all the repair people would come in and say not to get Viking. I like too that the dishwasher can have the filter but it breaks too often. Last year, I spent over 20 grand but some stuff was on backorder. So, I told the supplier that bought one for me to put in my invoice that I bought two. Then, when I asked for the rebate, they said that I didn’t qualify because I have one invoice. Even though the guy who I bought it from said it was gonna be okay, I didnt get my rebate of 5%. They could have looked at my file and made an exception because they would be out of pocket fast and it wasnt my fault. They should have fought with the reseller, but I didn’t bother. So, theyve lost a loyal customer.

Have full Viking kitchen - dual-fuel range, fridge/freezer, dishwasher. Difficulty in obtaining parts in Ireland, and would never, ever recommend Viking - anything - to anyone. All have had problems, but none more so, from day one, the range. Markers on dials rubbed off after months. Oven door has never fit flush and hinges squeaked/squealed whenever opened or closed. Often, could not open door parallel to floor. Finally replaced both door hinges - at astronomical customs charges for delivery from USA - only to find that self-clean function now not working. Self-clean circuit board described, variously, as no longer available to obsolete, do not have to maybe were getting new manufacturer but dont know how or when to sorry, no substitute recommended.Have begun shopping new/used parts, incl eBay, world-wide, spending hours of time without success. Have fabulously expensive oven that is filthy. In addition, weve had to replace 3 ignitors, our repairman discovered that instructions for wiring were actually reversed from positions described in manual (EU compromises?) and any part that costs US$100 direct from USA seemingly soars to more than 4 times that price once it reaches Ireland and our local recommended Viking supplier. We have all Viking appliances. We have the convection oven, microwave, dishwasher and range. All are great. We had been going to open houses and a lot of the model homes have Viking appliances. I got a Viking refrigerator for the high-end performance and the quality is very good. However, I had gone to an authorized Viking dealer and the people there were not so great. I would not recommend that store ever again. It was just a regular store in Pleasanton. They sold many different high-end brands but we had already chosen Viking so we went in and just said we wanted Viking. The sales guy was fine but once we got to the order phase, the manager of the store dropped the ball and didn’t place the order. They told me it would be two weeks and it ended up being about seven weeks before the appliances arrived. We were under a full kitchen remodel so all the old appliances were gone, and it was the holidays. I had to get involved with the corporate office before they did anything about it. Also, one of the burners on the range isn’t working very well now so I have to call for service on that. Its a six-burner stove and its only a month old. But I hear it’s pretty common with gas burners to do that. Other than that, I would buy a Viking again. I’m pretty satisfied right now.

I have Viking refrigerator (48 by 84) with a diagnostic of internal leak made by authorized expert. Non-repairable. Still under the warranty (12 years sealed system). Viking Service Manager at the distribution center received the experts report on August 29, 2013, but ignored it. After I contacted them on September 23, 2013, they started to interpret the warranty in different ways. Also told me to contact Viking customer service by the phone. I stay without a fridge till now. I had a meeting with the Service Manager. He apologized for the delay (about a month!) and asked to wait again. To show his work he provided me with the email sent by him to the Regional Service Manager and the reply. General idea - lets make her go back and forth while we get Viking on the same page. We got a Viking Range and one of the burners is not working. The place where I purchased it, Ferguson in Pasadena, sent a repairperson to come and it turned out one of the modules was not working. They were surprised that the module wasnt tested before it left the factory. We ordered a module and they are scheduled to come out and replace that. Also, some of the knobs with which I turn the range are starting to become really sticky and its taking a bit of force to turn them. Usually, when I turn the range on, I push it in, turn and then Ill hear the clicker start and the burner will come on. Now, I cant feel whether Im pushing it in or not and the turning isnt as smooth. Otherwise, the burning is fine. Ferguson was very helpful in getting the repairperson and with scheduling. If something like this occurred after maybe a year or two of use then I would say Well, maybe the product was kind of defective and using it made it fail. But this is right out of the gate, less than 30 days. Im having to deal with these two situations in a premium range. I have the Viking hood and microwave oven. Theyre all working fine except for this range which is not living up to the Viking reputation.

I called Viking because we needed a specific size and I was checking on all the measurements on the 48-inch. The gal told me that it should all work out as far as the fit because we didnt want it to get here and not have it fit in its space. I also asked about the pricing so that I knew I wasnt going to be ripped off. The new refrigerator is updated and it seems to have a better seal. Theres also supposed to be a thing inside where we never have to clean it. Id like my refrigerator to last longer than 15 years because its expensive. We had a lot of small hiccups because of COVID and because of the supply chain issues. Initially, we purchased our Viking stove through Best Buy. But it kept getting pushed out and I wanted to get our kitchen up and running. So, I ended up finding a floor model out of Stockton, that had the piece in stock. It had some scratches on it but they were very minor and they guaranteed a six-month warranty. They delivered it and got it in service. The Viking is simple to use and theres not a lot of electronics on it which is nice compared to Thermador and other high-end brands. I went with the one with an open range and even though its rated at 15,000 BTUs, its probably more because its open. Youre getting the airflow better, so its actually heating it up better. So far, I love it. Its easy to start. The one thing I dislike is if you take off any of the igniters to clean, they get a little bit on the porcelain and I have to readjust them in order for the igniters to ignite sometime. The other issue Ive had is that it has to kick on numerous times to get the igniter to ignite. So, every once in a while, itd have a little gas smell. I talked with the retailer that I bought it from about it, and they were gonna fix that. But my father-in-law whos familiar with Viking stove, he’s like, “Yeah. I’ll show you. It’s just this.” We ended up just moving the igniter a little bit. And then it took off, and no questions asked. Also, Im not sure if the convection part is working properly because it makes a little rattle from time to time. Otherwise, the Viking has been reliable.

My family moved into a new home with nice-looking Viking appliances in the kitchen. We only experienced minor malfunction of the refrigerator in the 1st year. After 14 months, or about 7 weeks ago, the range knob that controls the range fan motor stopped working, and I contacted Viking warranty service a week later. A local authorized repair shop was quickly assigned the job and they determined they have to replace the knob, and they need to order it through Viking for that, in order to comply with Viking warranty policy. And I was told to wait about 3-4 days.A week later, I called the repair shop only to find out the knob is on back order, and I need to wait 2 more weeks. And 2 weeks later, it was still not invoiced through Viking parts, and now 6 weeks later, the range is still not repaired!!! And the shop has no idea/no control over when the part will come in. They also told me in one case, a customer had to wait a year and 2 months for some parts to come in! It had been very frustrating not having a working range in the kitchen! It is even more so to think Viking warranty service is so lousy and unreliable! I am so disappointed how long I have to wait (so far) for warranty service for a common appliance! I wanted a red refrigerator and we found one from Viking Refrigeration. Our decorator also told me that this was the largest refrigerator and freezer and they had good reviews. However, Im not real happy with it. Weve been in the house for a while and Im still waiting for the icemaker to work and Im having a problem with the Viking hood too. Everything else is fine. The refrigerator keeps food cold.

Updated on 11/10/2021: I was prompted to respond to a previous review “privately” and feel my response should be “public” so I am requesting that this be linked to that previous complaint or minimally be made public as Viking’s public response was a deflection. The claim that it’s been sent to their escalation team is false as I have already been told by their in-house reps it’s been “escalated” for a the past week. Transparency is a good thing.Thank you for your response. After 9 months and numerous eta postponements I have been working with representatives within Viking aka Middleby Residential and have been told that our order was already expedited to your escalation team as of Tuesday November 9, 2021. In addition to speaking and emailing your internal representatives I have left a voice mail for Kevin ** -Viking President at ** to no avail. As of this evening 11/10/21 I have been emailed to direct all further inquires and questions to my local (NC) appliance dealer. Hmmm????? What??? I have filed formal complaints with BBB as well as this forum of ConsumerAffairs. I have also been contacted by Mississippi’s state Attorney Generals office today at 5:30 PM EST to provide them with more documentation. Which I will gather and forward tomorrow 11/11/21 -no problem. The issue at hand is: I AGREE WITH YOU that because of the upside down and unprecedented supply chain disruption the world has limped through the past two years demand is up and supply is down. Where we part is: y’all should be clear and truthful with your valued customers. Good grief we love your slate blues and your apple reds and would partner with you unflinchingly but when you deflect and push off candidness with punting etas month to month to month ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. You’ve had my $36,343.96 for 9 months and are asking to hold it without delivering for 10-11 or more months. 3 out 6 appliances I have received are defective or damaged and I’d like to have to parts expedited to the repairman you’ve scheduled.Be clear with your customers. Stop taking new orders on refrigeration products if you can’t fulfill them. Work on your current paid in full orders and field the questions your customers have. We’re all in this together. Quit hiding behind the retail and supply chain layers. Total looking forward to hearing from your escalation team personally. Make it a conference call and loop everyone in. Viking has all my contact information… I know Kevin ** Viking President does for sure.Original Review: We purchased a suite of 8 kitchen appliances from an authorized Viking dealer in Feb. 2021. Viking aka Middleby Residential requires customers to sign a contract acknowledging 16-20 week turnaround and payment in full. We complied knowing it would take longer than the stated eta due to the pandemic and unsettled supply chain as well as paid $36k in full at time of order. After 6 months of waiting I started to press for delivery so our contractors could wrap up our kitchen remodel. At the end of Sept (8 months later) I received 6 of the 8 Viking components and three (3) of them were defective or damaged; the built-in oven has a defective exterior cooling fan, the exhaust vent has a defective speed control knob and we forgave the dented side panel on the dishwasher as it is hidden (although it appeared to be damaged before packaging for shipment). The real problem is the non-delivery of the 36 5 series refrigerator and 18 7 series freezer. After many emails and phone calls this past week I spoke with a Viking inside rep (Hannah W) today and she conveyed Viking is unable to source grill kits for their entire 5 series refrigeration line and has no information on availability for the parts needed for the entire 7 series line of refrigeration. This is basically what we suspected since June and had been given vague excuses and phantom etas that came and went every 4 weeks. I have tried to email Kevin ** Vikings president without success so today I left a voicemail for him at ** with my contact information as he needs to hear his customers concerns first hand. How is it that this manufacturer can continue to place orders and demand payment in full on products they know they cannot supply?? Is this not deceit?? I have asked Viking to stop selling their refrigeration until all previous paid orders are completed. I have asked that they suspend their advertising of these units while knowing they do not have materials on hand to complete. I have also asked that they stop requiring 100% upfront payment knowing they cannot fulfill these orders and are basically able to use their customers cash as interest free loans.I have filed a grievance with the BBB and the state of Mississippis Attorney General Lynn Fitchs office stating the above issues. Had Viking been upfront in the beginning and honest about availability, adjusted their payment policies to reflect the uncertain supply capabilities and provided repair parts for defective shipped appliances this would have felt more like a partnership instead of a grab and go sales deal.

We bought a Viking oven three years ago and its been one problem after another. The temperature controls are wonky, there was a gas leak (gas company had to come and turn it off) and the fan is much louder than other comparable high-end models. All in all, the oven is a huge disappointment and I would not recommend anyone buying it.

Our Viking fridge/freezer came with the house as new 10 yrs ago. Weve already had an issue with the ice machine but wrote that off to a clumsy appliance repair man. About a month ago we noticed the high temp alarm go off and the appliance stopped cooling. We called out Viking approved technician and he diagnosed the control boards, which I paid 1k to have replaced. Three days later, the alarm goes off again and everything starts to defrost. The technician is unsure what the problem is but suspects a sealed system issue (another 1k). I am fuming about, what is a highly priced fridge freezer needing all this work at only 10 years old.

My wife knew about the name Viking and saw it in the stores when we were looking for refrigerators that had a reputable name. However, the Viking refrigerator we have makes a vibrating noise all the time and thats very annoying. They had people come out here twice and there was nothing they could do about it. One person from their support group said that its a manufacturing problem and that theres nothing they could do about it. He said its not a Viking problem and it doesnt make sense to me. I asked him if theres someone else I could contact and he said no. That was very discouraging. I finally tried on my own to find somebody high up, but I couldnt get it. Nevertheless, the refrigerator itself is nice. It has a lot of room and it works well.

We have known for years that Viking a quality appliance, and we chose to go with them because of the name recognition. We also wanted a good quality product. However, there have been some hiccups. One of the refrigerator doors was damaged during the installation. It was installed a couple of weeks before we moved in, and that was when I notified them right away. They came to replace it in about three to four weeks after we moved in. And so, a new one was ordered, but the new one was worse than the one we had on, so we are still waiting on that. A couple of weeks back, I opened the refrigerator door and one of the parts, the locking mechanism to make sure that it does not open all the way broke off. I did not slam it open. It is like a cast metal part, so Im thinking that there had to be a crack or something in there. Fortunately, it is covered under warranty, but if it had not been, that would have been a very disappointing month and a half usage.I did my research, kind of on my own. We were to go through Builders Supply warehouse. Their prices were extremely marked up compared to what I could go get it from Pacific Sales. I had to show them documentation about the rebates and things that were going on, and I was willing to just buy the appliances myself and have them installed after the house was done. But the builder did not want that. So, basically, I was stuck at having to pay thousands more for the same product. That was frustrating. In the initial installation, they had one gentleman and his son installing it. I think that was very poor planning because that was a $10,000 refrigerator that was wobbling and coming off the trailer. He was also struggling to get it off the trailer, It was not enclosed, so it was open to the elements, and that was a little disheartening. I think that their installation should have shown a little more pride of ownership.

We purchased the DMOC in 2007 (no longer available). Beginning in 2009 the problems began. First, a fuse. Then the wiring circuit was bad, followed by the door switch which was faulty.. was repaired. Then replaced a fuse again (same one), and it quit again a week ago. We called the Viking Southwest President and spoke with him. Unsympathetic, unapologetic, he informed me that microwaves only have an anticipated lifespan of 6.5 to 7.5 years - the 10 that we have read about! He stated he would get the record of repairs from their authorized service company (whom we did use!) and he would get back us. No call back. We called again and left a message 4 days after our initial conversation. No call back. Today, a new convection microhood from the competition was installed!

After two repairmen from two different companies offering to repair everything from the motherboard to the seals (for the same stated problem) and spending over $1500, I still cant bake cookies that dont turn into rocks as soon as they cool. No one has heard of this problem (they suggested the $5 inside thermostat which I got). Everything seems to check out but it is like all the moisture gets sucked out of really small items like cookies when cakes do fine. There must be something also wrong with the uneven heat because 2 roasted chickens had to be pan fried (with 8 guests offering suggestions) after 1.5 hrs of cooking at 425. I hate this oven. Anyone heard of this desiccating cookie problem?

My son and my daughter used to rent places with Viking appliances and they loved it. They suggested it to me and we went with it because of the reputation and the good quality product. I purchased the refrigerator from the local appliances store and it was wonderful because we had done the research. We came up with what we wanted and looked up who could order it for us. Then we went to the store where they recommended online from Viking and we ordered that. So it was good. I like the look of the refrigerator and how all the buttons are inside. Theyre not visible. Weve installed everything according to the instructions but the ice is not working. So the dealer who sold us the refrigerator is coming to see what’s going on. Hopefully, they will fix it. But other than that, there has been no problem and overall, the experience has been excellent.

We originally had a Northland refrigerator and it had a single, swing-out door. We started looking for another ref and we decided to go with a ref with double doors. I opened every two-door, swing-out model and looked at the trays, shelves, drawers, and guides, and how well these were made and fitted. Compared to their competitors, Viking had the product with the best custom interior and guides for drawers and shelves, and they were hands down above all the other ones that we saw on the market. Also, our experience with the dealer was excellent. They do a nice job and we buy a lot of appliances from them. The ref we got from them is nice and we like it. It keeps our food cold and frozen the way its supposed to and everything is operating the way we expected, so were happy with it. We like the double doors too. Buy from Viking. They do their homework well.

Our new house came with the upgraded package of Viking, but the range never worked. The stove wouldn’t light and we couldn’t keep it lit. It took us almost a year of repeated people coming out. We couldn’t get it right and it was because of multiple things. When they put it in, they got the wrong backing and it took three different people just to get that right. It was a huge relief when Viking replaced the stove for us. I like the stove, but when its on the blower is so strong that I can’t put a low heat on my stove top. If I have the oven on, I can’t put low on the burners because the blower blows into the burners. The repair people that we had were polite and professional and I dont fault them in any way. It was one of them that helped me get the new range. But Im disappointed and I will never buy a Viking again.

We bought two dishwashers at the same time and the rep was really great. We just went back and bought our range from them. The refrigeration is good. Im not crazy about the drawer layout but it was the only one they had. The drawers aren’t deep enough for the vegetables and the fruits. They don’t have a lot of bottles to choose from. Also, they should have a water dispenser. Theyre not practically designed. But I don’t have to clean the coils and when you have four cats, it makes a difference that you don’t have to vacuum all those cat hair.

My sister has a Wolf range and Ive seen friends of mine who has a Viking. I did my research and I ended up buying a Viking. Its just a sexy looking machine and I like its power and the way it cooks. Its probably the best in the market. However, when I cleaned the range, I did not know that there was a special way to put the pots back on to control the gas. And so, I wasnt too happy at first. But when the guy came out, he showed me what I was doing wrong. And so, right now, I like the range. However, its ridiculous that they have a Viking product through Best Buy. It was three days before Thanksgiving when the installer was to put the range into my kitchen and I noticed that my range wasnt the right range. The specs that I gave them was from the guy at Best Buy. It was the correct specs but that guy ordered the wrong range. And so, Best Buy lucked out because it could have been a disaster with the guy that was remodeling my kitchen because he put in new cabinets. I would suggest that if Viking is going to continue to use Best Buy, they should train their people to benefit Viking because Viking is a really wonderful product. But the Best Buy people in Buford have lied. They wind up doing me right towards the end but two of their employees lied about it and I have no tolerance for that. But I will still buy another Viking range if my range holds up to par. If it does anything like my blower did, I probably would not buy another one. But I have not had any problems yet.

Viking is a good brand. Its made in the USA and we like the look and size of their refrigerators. Ours is working great so far. The temperature control is nice and the doors open and close easily. Its like a French door refrigerator, but they dont hit each other. My sister has a Sub-Zero but its doors would hit each other if they didnt close them the right way. As with ours, the doors seem to be pretty seamless, which is good. However, the freezer in our fridge is like a pull out drawer and if I pull the freezer from one side, it gets off the track a little bit. Sometimes I have to straighten it out and push it back in, which is a little weird. Also, it would be cool if there was a water dispenser inside the fridge, though Im sure Viking has that on some of their high-end refrigerators. As for the Viking dealer, their team was on-time and they answered all my questions. They were absolutely friendly and respectful as well. It was an easy experience overall.

After spending $25K on high end, top of the line appliances my response, JUNK, JUNK, JUNK! I should have stuck with Sears or GE. What went wrong: 1) MW door needed to be replaced out of the box. Kept sticking closed and would not open. Had to have it serviced. At least it was under warranty; 2) Wine cooler fan motor stopped working within the first month. Needed to be replaced. Replaced under warranty; 3) Beverage center relay needed to be replaced. Had I been able to buy one from a supplier it would have cost $45 dollars. NO I had to get the part from Viking $475.00!!! No Warranty. 4 year old appliance. Beverage center door seal had to be replaced after one year. Under warranty. 4) $5900 Refrigerator! EVERY interior drawer CRACKED AND SPLIT after 4 years of operation and had to be replaced for $500 dollars!!! Its get WORSE. The freezer door rusted after one year. Had to be replaced. Thank g-d it was under warranty.Came home to a refrigerator in cardiac arrest 5 years after being placed in service. Alarms going off. Food spoiled. This was just after spending $200 shopping for the week. Turned out the 3 phase rectifier was toast. No warranty. $545 to replace it. Then one day later alarms going off again. Serviceman comes out finds coolant level low. Cant find the reason. Says there is a small undetectable leak. Fills the system. No WARRANTY. $400 more dollars; 5) $2500 dollar under counter professional ice machine. Pump stopped working. Next the temp probe stopped working. Fixed under warranty. Then the temp probe went out again. I finally unplugged the unit and there it sits today unplugged. More junk. Contact Viking. Response, YOURE ON YOUR OWN. No nothing! JUNK STAY AWAY. I want something sturdier and has more performance than what Im usually getting. I got Viking with the oven and its super sturdy. However, I also have the dishwasher and with both of them, I have some issues. Like with the range, one of the bars inside of the oven came loose. So, I had to wait for two months to get the part back and to service it. And the first dishwasher I got wasn’t starting, so I had to get another one. I was a little bit disappointed, especially for the price. Other than that, performance-wise, both the dishwasher and the range have been great. The dealer was also phenomenal. I couldn’t ask for better. They knew what Viking has on the website and were very knowledgeable. They knew their product. We’ve always known about Viking Ranges, and personally, I didn’t want to buy a Viking range because it was too expensive, but we did because my husband wanted it for the quality. Also, it’s made in America, which was a huge factor for our purchase. In fact, I wanted an Italian made oven since it was cheaper, but then we went with the American made Viking range. The people at the Viking dealer were good. However, there was a conflict between the brochure that was on the display and what was actually available. So, that probably needs to get tightened up. I like the qualities that the Viking Range has as well as the look. I chose it since I wanted more of an industrial look in my kitchen and a product that was mostly made in America. But I had a little disappointment. When the range was installed, it wasnt installed appropriately. I think it was set to propane when my home is on natural gas. Beyond that, I had to have four service calls because the oven was not working properly. It would come to temperature and then it would just shut off. I questioned my judgment in choosing to pay a premium for that appliance and then I have to do so many service calls to figure out whats wrong with it. The servicemen checked the stove then talked to Viking. They decided it required a specific solution and put that solution in place. They went away and then the next time I used the oven, it was clear that it hadnt been fixed. They went through a process of elimination to figure out what the problem was but it took some time. The good news is that the range works beautifully now and I am pleased with it.

I ordered the Viking over the phone with someone. I had to wait for the hood and the dishwasher for quite a while, but it was okay because we were waiting on other stuff for the kitchen remodel. I like the style of Viking Ranges and nobody else makes red in that kind of an industrial feel. Its quality also has been great so far. I like all that all the burners are the same size and its iron top is simple. It was pretty good and I’m glad that they just left it to me to install. However, the dishwasher that I’d gotten originally from them has no damage on the outside but was all dented on the inside, so I don’t understand how that could have happened and I didn’t realize this until I went to put it in after having it for 20 days after they delivered it. Then at the beginning of March, it stopped working. The pump that takes the water out just continually would run and it would never start another program. Viking replaced it for me because they couldn’t find a service person in my area. But they wouldn’t just send it to me to put in, so I had to deal with letting an installer put it in. The installer did not do a great job so right now, I have to go back and level it. Now I have to find some additional insulation because they took that with them and they didn’t put all the insulation in the front so it’s louder now. They also didn’t put one of the screw covers on and it’s a stainless steel screw on a black background so now the black tic-toe panel on the bottom has one screw that’s glaring. I gotta fix those things and I’ll paint the screw. I wish they would have just sent it to me and let me put it in, but they insisted on it. In terms of the way they handled the situation, I thought I was dealing with someone who wasnt able to make any decisions. It took them from the beginning of March until they put it in on Thursday to get a working dishwasher. But I would still endorse my friends in getting Viking because I think that’s not necessarily a manufacturing problem.
