I like the size of the Viking refrigerator. Also, the icemaker is something that I like. Its on the inside, not on the outside. Theres a small bracket thats built in to keep the door from opening all the way. But that broke and they told me that it was common breakage. It probably could be made out of some better materials so it wouldnt break. Other than that, the customer service was good.

We bought an entire kitchen of Viking appliances in September 2019. This included a dishwasher, gas range, and double ovens. The double ovens broke less than 3 months after installation. The lower oven would not turn off and the series of buttons on the control panel fell inside the housing. After 2 weeks of calling, they sent a repair service to diagnose the problem. The circuit board was melted from heat. They came back a few days later and said it was a bad design and would fail again. 1 day later it failed again. Now we have been without ovens thru the Christmas holidays and the entire month of January. This equipment is junk and we wasted $20,000.

We owned this fridge for 7 years. After 1 year, the plastic started cracking and falling apart. The shelves were partially exchanged under warranty but another year later started falling apart again. Now all of the plastic is cracked (clear and white plastic) and today the shelf fell off entirely onto my wifes foot with all of the condiments in it. I cant believe that such an expensive fridge has such poorly made plastic that wouldnt even be acceptable for a cheap fridge. If Viking was proud of their products, they should exchange or fix these kind of things, but it does not seem they care.

We got a Viking Refrigerator primarily because of the name and reputation. But then unfortunately, Vikings name has suffered in the last few years but hopefully, I wont have any issues with this one. The quality is fine, its fairly modern and it has nice LED lights. P.C. Richard was the dealer and they were professional and very good about it. The only thing I was a little disappointed is that it didnt have any cold water coming out and I would have expected that for a $3700 appliance. But overall, its a nice refrigerator and I would recommend it.

I would say that the experience with this product is very poor. The worst! Oven igniters have failed 5 times! It burnt/deformed the burner tubes 5 times! I need to replace it at least every 20 months! Oven hinges operate very poorly! Many times on lighting, the oven door has blown open! This is a total junk for over $6,500! Pass the word to stores not to market the Viking Brand! What a junk!

We bought a bunch of brand new appliances, and Ive had an issue with just about everything not quite working the way its supposed to. But weve had to get service and got the warranty worked on about every piece of equipment that we purchased. With the refrigerator, the freezer was frosting up. It had something to do with the heating unit or defrosting unit of the freezer. They replaced it and now its working. We love the Viking refrigerator. Its nice, big and awesome.

There was nothing else on the market I would look at. I would buy it again. There isnt anything I dislike about the range. It does a beautiful job. The design is beautiful too. I love the style and what it does. Everything is great on the stove. I wish I had a proofing feature though because I bake a lot.

I don’t like Viking appliances. I’ve had issues with the ice maker ever since I bought my refrigerator. They came out one time and replaced it because they said there was a fly in it. After they fixed it, it worked for about six months. And then I have to always pull the bin out, empty it out, clean it out and put it back in so it could work again. Now it doesn’t work at all. I’ve called Appliance Masters and they’ve been out many times. The repairman comes and he says nothing is wrong with it but I still have an issue. At this point, I have no warranty on it but I need someone to come out and actually fix it. I ordered the part to change it myself. The dealers were nice. But as far as when I emailed them, I got absolutely no response.I’ve had my dishwasher for seven years and when I turn it on, it runs over three hours and I have to open the door and see if it’s clean or dry. I never know how long it’s supposed to take. I never knew from the beginning because it never ran a full cycle. When I open it, I see all this water and soap in the bottom. I wash my dishes by hand. The water is sitting there. I have to spoon it out or cup it out because it starts to smell after a while. It’s a big issue for me because I’ve never been able to have a full cycle of clean dishes. When I called this last time to get somebody to help me with my appliances, the repairman told me he gets a negative call every single day and he’s always apologizing to the customers when they call. Consumers like me don’t know who to contact to say their complaint to. The sales guy was telling me that he gets this kind of call every single day. Generally, I’m easygoing and I don’t really like complaining about anything. But when it comes to a point when somebody’s so top-notch, I get very disappointed because of the name.Viking has a name like Mercedes-Benz. I was thinking I was getting the best and I was very wrong because if Viking was so great, their appliances would work properly. And even if I get a lemon, I understand that at least it could be fixed when someone comes out to check it. I was disappointed. I would not recommend Viking to anybody. I would not recommend the places I called for service for Viking. They just can’t fix it. I used to have a GE and it’s in my garage now. It works a lot better than Viking and I’ve had that a lot longer.

The store I went to had the Viking refrigerator at 18 months with no interest. But I had a horrible experience. They had a typical salesman who was just selling a product. But Im not very happy with the refrigerator. The door was bent a little and when I called the store for the warranty, they told me that I had to call Viking myself. A store should have a department to take care of the warranty for the product and not me calling 200 people to the warranty service. It was difficult. And the process that Viking had with their warranty made me feel like they didnt care about their customers. I called several times and they didnt know which companies in my area could take care of my appliance and they asked me to call the companies. I called several but they said they didnt work for Viking warranty. There was a lack of communication. If I’m a company and a customer that buys stuff in San Diego, Id know exactly which to call. It took several calls for me to get what I wanted. I had to wait for a company to come from LA, I live in San Diego, to come to my house to do my repairs. The tech showed up two weeks later. ut because he said there wasnt anything wrong with it, I had to fix the fridge myself. I work in the maintenance division.I will not buy another Viking in my life as I would have paid something cheaper with the same quality. I could have bought a GE or an Electrolux and I would have gotten the same result or better. Availability of parts is better too. I’m a reasonable person. If you spend about $14,000 on an appliance, they should treat you better. Right now, I try to order parts for my refrigerator because parts are not available. The appliance model number is also not in the system yet.

I chose a Wolf range and they had a part problem and couldnt get the range in in time. So, my second choice was Viking. The oven is great but the burners are hard to regulate and I don’t like them. I had somebody from one of Vikings vendors come in to look at it and make sure it was operating correctly, and it wasnt completely operating well. They fixed it. I still am not completely satisfied though. The deal was I wanted a different range to begin with, and somehow, this one arrived. I was moving into a new house, so I had to have a range to get a certificate of occupancy. So, I ended up keeping it. But my struggle with it is I can never get the burners to go low enough just to simmer. Im constantly playing with them and its irritating.

I bought a new Viking 48” side by side fridge freezer 10 years ago and had the kitchen built around it. It looks fantastic and I felt pretty smug thinking I had a sub zero look but for a fraction of the price. However, 2 months ago it suddenly failed and started heating up rather than cooling. Here is the problem - I’m in the UK and Viking no longer trade in the UK. Despite contacting Viking numerous times I am yet to find an accredited engineer that will touch it. Quote “ I used to work on them but it got so difficult to get parts”. I found a local engineer who has serviced it and replaced the refrigerant but it is still faulty and now he tells me there must be an internal leak and therefore impossible to fix. So I have a £6,000+ fridge freezer which is useless and being more than 300kg in weight I don’t even know how I can remove it. To date Viking has offered no advice or help. No customer service whatsoever.

I previously owned a Viking when we remodeled my kitchen. I really liked the product, but not this time around. Everything that weve ordered, theres been something wrong with it. It took us six to eight months just to receive the product because it was on back order. And then when we received it, it was damaged. We had to deal with the company we bought it from going back and forth, and it took another four months to get the replacement. They kept pushing the buck. I kept getting transferred, making calls and I wouldn’t get a callback. It was poor customer service. I love the older Viking, but I dont like the new one. Its not the same quality. My old range was great to cook on and bake on. The one I have now sometimes turns on, and sometimes it doesnt. Also, my refrigerator has been down since before Christmas and the parts have not come. I had to throw all my groceries away. So, Ive had nothing but bad luck. I just finished talking to Viking yesterday to find out how soon I can get my stuff, and the gal was very nice and helpful. And shes pushing things forward, so I really appreciate that. But I would not recommend Viking.

My husband and I like to cook a lot and we like the high BTUs. Viking is known for quality, and we also like the elegant style of the range. We did a professional kitchen with a remodel and really liked it. My husband likes the Viking ranges ability to sear steaks. He actually likes the steaks in the oven better than on the grill now. The only thing I dont like about the oven is when you close the door, it really wants to close. The first time I went to close it, it slipped out of my hand and it slammed shut. You have to really hold on to the door, unlike other stoves where theres some tension at the end and it wont shut all the way until you push it to close. Other than that, Ive put some water on the stove and I was amazed. I put it on the front burner, the high BTUs, and the water heated up. It was boiling within a couple of minutes and it was very nice to be able to have the features that allow it to work as well as it does. Weve enjoyed the range and I would recommend it.

I finally got a whole set of the Viking Professional at Fergusons. The refrigerator has been installed for one year now and so far, I like it. It’s a tall refrigerator with a big door. The freezer is at the bottom and is spacious, then there’s a drawer that comes out where you could put meat or veggies. You can see everything, and nothing gets lost. I saw a Viking refrigerator at Colders Appliance Store and bought it. It was significantly discounted because it was a floor model. Its a side-by-side fridge and the two doors dont align perfectly. Its something you can see and it stands out a little bit. And theres no easy way to adjust in and out and get things in perfect plane. I would have preferred French doors because I could have gotten a full sheet tray in the refrigerator. Whereas with the side-by-side, I cant. Viking Combi oven model vcso210ss - This is an unsafe product. The trays on this small unit have no stops. As a result of this design defect, the trays slide forward and down. Because of this downward motion, anything on or in the tray has the potential to splash or fall onto the door, which pulls down, or onto the hands of the consumer. Fortunately, no injuries to date but will probably use mostly in the microwave mode which requires no tray.

Im a chef instructor and Viking is among the top brands. My choice was between Viking and Wolf, and Viking, hands down, won out, certainly among all my colleagues. Viking was also offering awesome sales that I felt I needed to take advantage of because I also needed a microwave. However, going through the purchase was absolutely horrific. My biggest mistake was that I went through an online retailer, Appliances Connection, instead of going through someone local. They were offering, at the time, the best price but they were miserable. They were really good at taking my money. It took several months for everything to be in stock. When the delivery was scheduled, they were supposed to give me warning but they did not and I had to rush home from work. Im a teacher so I had to have somebody cover my class because they called and said they were going to be at my house in 10 minutes. It was absolutely ridiculous. We were told that we would have their white glove service, which means putting the appliances in place and installing it but they did none of that. They left all of that plastic on that the refrigerator comes delivered with which was excruciating to get off. It took my husband and I about two hours to get all that plastic off. The biggest problem that we still have to this day is the fact that we cant get the refrigerator leveled. The bottom freezer door sometimes closes but sometimes it doesnt. If we dont shove that door in, it will sit ajar and Im very frustrated by that. I get that all of these French door refrigerators are persnickety in a way, but I expected more from Viking. I called Appliances Connection and they said theyd refund me the installation fee. But they didnt do that and it doesnt solve the problem. I had sent a message through Vikings online service several months ago but I never heard back from that. I finally had some time where I could stay on the phone and got through to Viking. I was told to call a number and theyd take care of it. I called the number and the woman was very nice. She said Id be hearing from somebody in a week to 10 days but I never did hear from anybody.I still have a refrigerator that I would like to love very much but Im not loving it so much right now. I would love to hear from somebody from Viking because Im not a happy customer. If their representative had done what they were supposed to do, it probably would never have gone back to Viking. But I dont think Vikings done a good job of having a proper network in place to make sure that customers get taken care of. These are not cheap products. I can get a crappy appliance and crummy service by going anywhere. Between the pieces that I got, I spent close to $12,000. Thats a lot of money. But I would still buy Viking products because theyre a leading brand in the industry, they have a good warranty and I love the way they look.

The Viking range was so pretty. I got one thats jet black with rose gold accent. Its one of my fancy splurges for the kitchen. My house was being renovated and the designer did all of the ordering. The installation of the range was easy. They had a nice team come in and set everything up and level it. The range works really well. I like the fact that youre not actually sitting the pot on the burner. Youre sitting it on the little metal thing above the burner. Its set up pretty high from the burner. Theres an indentation in the burner so the flame is set down in the indentation, which means that it keeps you further away from the flame. You have to work very hard to burn yourself. Thats a really nice safety feature. The range also works quickly. There are lots of options on how to set the temperature. I like the fact that the knobs light up when a particular burner is being used because its also easy to know if a burner is on. If the pilot light didnt light, you dont have to worry about gas flowing because the light is on will tell you which burner is active.

I love the amount of space of my Viking refrigerator. It’s really good for an office. However, it wasn’t getting to the appropriate temperature. So, the serviceman came in and replaced the fan and something else. Those parts were not under warranty anymore, so we were looking at four years with the refrigerator. The freezer was working fine, but the two parts that he replaced didn’t do the trick. He had to come back, and then it was something that he needed to fix. He came out a couple of times before we finally got everything back up and running. So, we were without a refrigerator through most of the holidays, which was kind of a pain. And it made it hard to get him in. The serviceman was great. The only issue we had at one point was finding out when the parts were coming in. We waited and waited and finally, I called the serviceman and they said that they were having a hard time getting the parts. So, I ended up calling one of Vikings customer service numbers to find out what the issue was, and the part was in the following week. But there was this waiting time where we didn’t know anything, and it was because the part was taking forever to come in. Viking needs to set interaction between whoever provides the parts to the technician, and then the technician’s communication with who’s waiting on the part and the repair.

Ive known of Vikings brand reputation for 20 years and although I was looking at a few others, Viking had a better price point for entry. However, the dealer didnt set expectations of timeline for delivery very well and the project was contingent on that so we could build countertops and finished cabinets. It had taken a couple of months to deliver the products, which was longer than the three to five weeks reported on their website. It forced us to live somewhere else for a couple of months so that was not good and we wouldnt do that again for sure.Afterwards, we wanted some minor adjustments done so we called and had somebody sent out right away. A lot of times, thats undervalued because I could have voided the warranty if I had a local repair shop come and fix it. But Viking made all the final adjustments and thats a huge benefit of the product. Its the best takeaway so far as that service aspect and after using the range for four months, the quality seems great too.

He was insulting AMANA because this brand was worse! Not less than 2 months later, the top of the cold cut drawer snapped off. The produce drawers cracked shortly afterward. Obviously the interior was sub-optimal and did not live up to the Viking brand. Overtime, I realized that the storage is not practical either. I cannot fit all of my produce in those two tiny drawers, and the bottom freezer cannot hold a large turkey. Also, the freezer drawer does not come out enough so that you have to bend down and INTO the freezer. Finally the entire refrigerator crashed this weekend and we need to buy another, after owning it for 6 years. Went to SEARS and fell in love with a Kenmore french door... price 2000.00. Price of Viking 3560.00. Do the math! I will never purchase high end appliances again.

We have owned many Viking appliances over the years. Our most recent purchases have been a $5,000.00 freestanding gas range (VGSC530-4B) with 2 safety recall problems. Very inconvenient and required 2 days of my time to coordinate service people and repairs. Second, an undercounter microwave oven (VMOD240) which cost $1,300.00 and has a cheap plastic keypad. The finish started wearing off of the numbers within 18 months of normal use (by 2 people). Now it looks unsightly and dirty even though it is clean. I just ordered a replacement keypad part which cost $90... ridiculous for a strip of plastic. A microwave this expensive should be of higher quality and last longer. Also, over the phone, Viking customer service representatives can be snooty and surly. Hello... I am a C U S T O M E R... who has spent a significant amount of money on your products. Maybe you should be nice!! I will consider purchasing appliances from another manufacturer for my next project.

I like that the Viking ranges construction and the reports that I’ve seen about it, and being six burners with an extra-large oven made it a perfect match for the kitchen. The craftsmanship of the range that I got is beautiful and everything is enclosed. It has the proper sparkers to hook up the gas and the electric. And the burners are fantastic but Viking really did a great job on the engineering of the simmer. It’s beautiful. And I like that I can take the knobs off and wash them. Theyre metal and looks like they’re gonna be there for a long time.I bought my Viking range through ABT Electronics in Chicago. And the packaging was perfect and it came perfectly protected. Their giveaway, the Viking dishwasher, also helped me with the purchase and further rebates in another order is always a nice thing to have. All in all, the Viking range is a great product. And from what I’ve seen, it is really nicely engineered with all heavy cast iron components and burners, the knobs, and the interior enforcement. I haven’t seen a product that’s like this yet and the simmer is adjustable and its really nice that I can put it up or down. The range sits off the floor, too, so I can sweep underneath.

The refrigerator has doors that did not line up properly from the time it was received brand new. Viking already replaced the door on the frig side, and they have sent out techs to fix the alignment problem, and they sent their head guy. None of these efforts fixed the problem. Viking replaced the motherboard on the refrigerator too. The shelves and doors and drawers all have broken multiple times. Food freezes, milk freezes, we have wasted thousands in spoiled food because of this faulty refrigerator. Viking is now pulling the it is out of warranty game although they promised me they would extend the warranty since they wanted me to allow them to fix the original Pro Series Refrig when they should have replaced the lemon appliance from the start. Dont trust them. Make them put it in writing. Better yet, dont let them constantly repair their junk, and make you live through inconvenience in a kitchen you paid $25k for their top of the line Pro Series. Insist on a refund or new replacement, otherwise you will be constantly living with techs and once the warranty expires they will say you are all on your own.Viking replaced the double ovens, and the two dishwashers. Amazing no more problems and no service calls since the original junk was removed from my home. It should be noted that we replaced the dishwashers with LG, and no problems. In fact our CA home has Sub Zero, Fisher & Paykel and Miele, and they are all twice the age of this Viking junk that is in our AZ home and no problems. We also have Kitchen Aid in our TX home and no problems. Our Viking problems over the past 3 years since building our new home has caused huge inconvenience, and the problems are obviously correlated to the poor quality control that allowed such defective appliances to be sold. As with all the other Viking problems, once the original appliance has been removed and a different one installed, we have zero service calls. Why would Viking Customer Service fight me on this? Viking had a great rep who did such a good job of trying to correct the problems with all of their other appliances, yet they now will not acknowledge the multiple times their techs have been out and in fact they recently stated there has only been one functional service call. Apparently Viking does not keep good records or they dont consider replacing an entire door, or replacing the motherboard, or replacing cracked drawers, or fixing a constant alarm, or fixing a freezing of milk problem, or replacing cracked shelves, or replacing broken rollers, etc to be functional service calls. If Viking will live up to their commitments they made to me I will gladly let other consumers know but as of this writing they are ignoring me and leaving me with a broken refrigerator, one that was broken from day one, and hiding behind a warranty expiration date. I called who they claim is the head of all customer service, but she would not speak with me and the receptionist told me someone else is actually the head for my region. I do not want to speak with a regional head, as this is a matter that Vikings Chief Quality Officer needs to be made aware of. Viking if you care about your customers you will have someone contact me immediately to remedy this horrible situation.

We were limited with space and size and since Vikings one of the ones that fit in it, we decided to choose this brand. We know that its so good. In fact, weve had Viking in other houses and my mother-in-law also has it in their house in Montana. The quality has been excellent. However, were having some problems with the ice maker either because of the way it was hooked up or were not used to it. Also, I like the look of it. So even though we had to go with one of the smaller ones, its a gorgeous refrigerator and its doing its job.

The house that my wife and I bought in 2016 has Viking appliances in the kitchen. The refrigerator was a 2012 model that was installed and purchased in 2013, so we were a little disappointed that it released all the Freon and was unrepairable by 2021. Were disappointed that though the Viking Refrigerator that we had to get fit in the space for the one that we had without having to redo cabinets, it no longer has a water dispenser in the door. That was a big letdown. We also had to replace the door seal on a dishwasher and Viking had stopped making replacement parts for it. We ended up replacing the entire dishwasher. The repair service is a real pain in Connecticut because theres only one authorized company. To get them out to actually look at our refrigerator, even on an emergency basis, was a matter of weeks.

I liked how the Viking products were built. They seemed very sturdy and the quality was very good. I love the high powered burner. Theres one thats super high power so I can boil water really fast. But recently the timer broke on my range. I called the repairman who found damage to the door. The range was working fine but this was something that couldnt be repaired so it was a big deal. He then contacted his Viking rep but afterwards they sent me an entirely new range and covered the installation. They were no longer making the model that I had, so I ended up with an upgrade and I didnt have to pay for a thing. I was blown away. The issue with the timers is that when the oven is heated up really high for cleaning, that destroyed the timer mechanism. The ranges dont come with a timer anymore and they had improved the range since I got mine in 2012. They sell a kit in case peoples timers go out. But what they did for me was amazing. They stand by their product. I will be a Viking owner for life.

Viking 48 Built in Refrigerator recall and problems - Ive had this refrigerator for 10 years and had custom panels to match our new kitchen cabinets made and install without problem when we bought it from the Great Indoors (now out of business). Shortly after, Viking had to replace a faulty compressor. Then a few years ago we had a recall for door hinges needing replacement, which they did.Last year it stopped cooling properly and I paid $350 to fix leaky refrigerant problem. Now, door recall number two happens (class action lawsuit). We were given the option to fix or replace the unit with a new one for a reduced cost of new. We chose a new one but wanted one that would work with our custom door panels as the first one was. I was told by a Viking recall rep that some modification of the panels might have to be done by an installer at our cost and I was fine with that. I ordered the refrigerator through the Viking distributor, Lakeview in Elk Grove, IL and was told 4-6 weeks. It took two months. The original service manager left company during this time. The refrigerator was installed and the installers said the original panels cannot be made to fit as we were told. An estimate of $2,000 for new panels, plus there were no handles so add that to additional cost I wasnt expecting. 4 calls to Viking customer support over 3 weeks and no help, just excuses and theyd have to listen to call records to see whose fault it was why this wont work. Lakeview was also contacted and I had to keep emailing/calling them to get help and they said it was in Viking’s hands but nobody took the effort to call me and keep me informed. I called Discover and filed a dispute to halt payment. That working for 3 weeks until Lakeview responded to Discover and said there was no way the panels would work because the owner customized the doors for the panels and that was not true. Both Viking and Lakeview knew my original model and serial number and should have been aware that the old and new units were not the same. Viking customer support called yesterday and left a message saying its not their problem that I ordered the wrong refrigerator. Now, I have a refrigerator without panels, no handles and to add to the ** is this $10,000 refrigerator has been freezing all my vegetables in the bottom keep fresh drawer! Bottom line, stay away from Viking!

Vikings customer service was outstanding. The guy that remodeled my house was pretty cuckoo, in no real detail or into especially for that kind of stuff. There were six appliances here that are all Viking and the reps worked with me very nicely about getting all the model numbers and the serial numbers. We got them all registered. There was never any question that it was a maintenance issue or a warranty issue. The only drawback I see about the refrigerator is that when I pull open the drawer of the icemaker, ice falls behind the drawer and into the cabinet where I cant get those loose cubes out. Still, its a great product.

I like the French doors and the freezer on the bottom of my refrigerator. But my ice maker went out already so I’m a little skeptical about its quality. I have their stove-top as well and the metal piece has discolored on one of them. We had nothing but trouble with the Viking Range that we first received. It was a gas range, the simplest model that Viking makes and I felt like I got a lemon unit. We were without an oven for five weeks. I contacted Viking and I spoke with a gentleman named Tony who should have been responsible for resolving these kinds of issues. Basically, he said that Viking would only come and replace parts on the unit even though we had had the repairman out three times. He also said that they would restart our warranty once the range started working. Tony was nice but he had a very condescending attitude. He should not be dealing with end-users.Viking never got me a new range and I am rather disappointed with them. They were exceedingly stubborn with replacing it. I didn’t even wanna go with the same model and I wanted to get a different one. I wanted to go to a dual convection and I wouldve paid the difference if Viking wouldve stepped in and did something about it. It took a lot of work and coordination that the consumer and the end-user should not have had to go through. I have never dealt with a more frustrating company and I’m astonished that they treat an end-user like that. It ruined my opinion of them. The dealer I purchased it from replaced the range, and that was before Viking agreed to make the transfer. This was all done through the retailer. They brought a new one out and it worked right away, and it’s been working since then. Viking is a very good range while it’s been working, but with all the experience I had with the last unit, I was not happy. Any time that somebody will ask me about my range, I will be more than happy to tell them the story of how Viking basically did nothing.

The Viking registration site would not accept my information so it was somewhat of a hassle to get both of my products registered. I had to go through one of their customer service supervisors. It was a little laborious. I had to produce copies of the tags on my product. I had to produce a sales receipt and a lot more information than I would have had I been able to just use the website. The operator’s manual for the appliances is also not specific enough. The instructions are vague in regard to operating the range and turning it on. But Im generally pleased with the range. It cooks so much faster than a gas or an electric range. I also like the size of it and the interior of the oven.

We went through an open house and we saw one with Viking as one of the stuff they put in their kitchen. My parents really love Sub-Zero and we were wondering if we’d go with Sub-Zero or Viking, and we picked Viking out of price. I like how cold it is and I like the fact that food doesn’t go spoiled as easily as with my traditional $2,000-range fridge. I bought a floor model and I called Viking ‘cause it had an installation issue. They sent a third-party company fast, which is good in terms of their customer service. However, the company who did the repair was not as good as I would like them to be because they couldn’t do it right and they put on the report that it might be a different issue. They scheduled it for another three to four weeks ‘cause of the parts. Overall Viking is pretty solid, but from the design point-of-view, it’s a bit outdated compared to others. Sub-Zero is better but it’s a little bit pricier and it’s harder to find a floor model than Viking.

Ive known about Viking Ranges for years. I wanted a six-range top, so we went out and look at them at ABT and they seemed to have the cleanest look. They had somebody who comes out especially for Viking who was very knowledgeable. When we first got it, it wouldnt go on properly so somebody came out and adjusted it. Then when I clean and put the pieces back together, one or two of the jets would flare. Also, when I put it down on low, I get this ticking sound which means that the gas is not coming through properly. It is also a little crowded, so I have to remove one rack to get anything big in. We wanted a commercial range. We looked at Thermadors but we liked the way Viking Range looked and the price was okay. Viking had a tough track record but we understand they were bought out by another corporation and they supposedly turned things around. The team at the dealer wasn’t great when we went to buy the range. They handle a lot of different lines. They were very nice but not extremely knowledgeable. I would think anybody who represents the commercial people like that would be very well trained. They provided all the information I needed as I asked it, but most of the time, they had to look it up. I think this particular dealer was more into GE, LG and the lower-end or middle-end stuff. They werent impressive by any means. Also, once you pay for them, you would almost think that when they install them, they would run through a tutorial. But the delivery was okay.We like it a lot and have cooked and maked tea on it. Yesterday, we just baked with it and it was making a few popping noises. Were not accustomed to a gas oven and hopefully, its a learning curve but Im assuming that was some of the stuff burning off because its new. Thats a question I have for the technician whos coming to look at the knobs in the front that are rubbing when I turn them and the front kick plate on the bottom that is crooked. But we like that were being able to control the heat on the burners and its appearance as well. It looks very commercial, industrial and it’s well designed. Right now, we’re satisfied.

Ive had Viking products before and I heard about the Viking refrigerator from friends and people whove had Viking appliances. In fact, this is the only slide-in refrigerator that Viking makes, and it was perfect for my kitchen thats relatively small. I just couldnt justify going up to a commercial grade refrigerator with a small kitchen. I also love the components of the freezer units. There are different areas where I can freeze things. Its very compact and efficient.I had a few questions regarding the refrigerator and the rep pointed out how to do the adjustments. I had called the Viking headquarters in Tennessee and asked for a hard copy version of the manual, even though its available online, but I never received it. Ive had my brand new Viking refrigerator since September 8 and it has been a lemon. It’s the third icemaker that’s been gone into it. The doors were supposed to come and before they could, the inside of the doors just started falling out of it. I had no icemaker during Thanksgiving and Christmas. They put one in one week and immediately it went before Christmas day. Weve been waiting and waiting and waiting, and a new icemaker came yesterday. And after 2 months, the icemaker decided to start working. This is a very sick refrigerator. I had a Sub-Zero refrigerator before and it was wonderful. But on my Viking refrigerator, every time I close the door, it dumps ice on the floor. The repairman said yesterday “Well, all refrigerators do that.” But my Sub-Zero didn’t. I was led to believe that Viking was a better appliance than the Wolf packages, but its not. I am very disappointed in what I thought was gonna be a very good product. And another thing was Ive had to ask for books to operate it. I called and told them I didn’t get any manual to work with me. They told me I can go online and print it out but it was 30 pages to print out.

First we tried to have it fixed ourselves, and then I remembered that the salesman of Specialty Appliance had said, If anything is wrong, call us. Were in the Florida keys and we just spend a couple of months a year at this house. We had to get a local company to take out the old refrigeration units and put the new ones in. We needed someone that would guarantee they could get the units upstairs. It was a complicated matter so we chose Viking Refrigerators for practicality purposes. The couple times I saw the Viking rep, he was very pleasant and it was so nice that he could call the company to get right in with somebody to troubleshoot problem. It was really good that they offer that so I know I wasnt relying on one person with very limited knowledge as to what they have. The refrigerator was doing well but there was a lot of noise in the beginning. I took a peek on the top for some vibration and I read in the instructions 22 screws go in there. Once those were put in the noise went away. Also, the quality control needed some help. In the freezer the sensor at the bottom of the door was installed backwards. They had several visits but they couldnt figure out what was wrong with it. And they finally got it, had to order in a part and then we had ice. But other than that, they have been great. Right now, Im super happy with them. I love the size and quality of the ice cubes. My refrigerator has leaked for 10 months. I have a side-by-side freezer and refrigerator each freestanding unit, but they are mounted in together. My freezer was reinstalled crooked, and now I’m waiting to hear back from Viking to get it adjusted and installed correctly. I first reported the incident with my original refrigerator in July of 2018. It took me 10 months and 11 service calls to get my unit replaced, and many windows of times waiting for someone to come and service it as recent as yesterday because my Viking refrigerator and my Viking freezer had two different badges on them -- the tag on it that says Viking. One says Viking Professional, and it’s 2x4 inches large, and the other one is 1 inch by 2, 3 inches wide, so they dont match. They sent someone out to fix the badges, and the repairperson was not able to because of the badge that was sent. So, I took time out of my day to be home during my service window, only for him to tell me, “Sorry, I can’t do anything for you. You’ll have to call again.” I would tell others to buy a Sub-Zero instead.

I heard better reviews on Viking from people that have had them, and I wanted to go in the direction of a range like this only because less bells and whistles means less to break. The quality is good. The door handle wouldnt open one time and the rep that came to do the repair was excellent. He was on time and it was easy to make the appointment. They were very good and professional. I also like that they took care of the problem quickly. Plus it was covered under warranty.

I’ve been in the restaurant business for so many years and Vikings name has been around. It’s quality product and all that good stuff. I’ve watched them over going to Best Buy and thought that one’s beautiful. My recent purchase was a single oven, microwave steam convection oven, all in one dishwasher, gas range and the refrigerator. So far so good but I kind of wish Viking offered a filtered water system through their refrigerators but they don’t. But it does make ice which is nice. I’d definitely recommend their product to a friend. But Viking is top of the line, top dollar. It’s not for the average consumer. I didn’t buy it to make my house value go up because what I’ve heard is all the high end kitchen equipment doesn’t really hold value because not everyone takes pleasure in that. But I wanted the best I can have and my choice was Viking.

The house we moved into in July of 2016 has a Viking all-refrigerator (no freezer). Ice builds up on the inside bottom left-hand side of the back at an alarming rate. I have defrosted it 3 times in the 8 months weve lived here. The repairman from the local company that services Viking appliances is here for the third time, and now thinks that the ice build up behind the inside wall is so great that it continues to cause the interior of the refrigerator to build up ice. I love the size of the interior and its a nice looking appliance, but this frost issue is making me crazy!

Id heard of Vikings reputation and I went with them for the rebates. I’m having a problem with their microwave as the tape over the keypad is bubbling. I contacted Viking and they referred me to another company to come fix it. I was in contact with that company twice and they said, “Can you send us pictures of it so we know what our repairman is looking at?” And I did, but it’s been close to two weeks and I haven’t heard back from them. Nonetheless, Im very happy with the range. I like how the burners are raised, so it makes it easier to clean. It’s expensive, but if you’re going to really indulge in cooking and you want longevity, then it’s worth it.

Viking Range is difficult to get in touch with customer service and parts t
Viking Range is difficult to get in touch with customer service and parts take WEEKS to get. And when they do arrive they dont always work. I have had my Viking range since 2006. In the beginning we had to have the ignitor switches replaced. I believe it was under warranty at the time. The smoke eliminator fell out of the larger oven but it is very difficult for the homeowner to replace as the heating element covers the area where the casing of the smoke eliminator and I do not feel comfortable removing the heating element. Another issue that we have had is the self-cleaning on the small oven stopped working. I have since figured the issue out that the door wasnt closing enough for the self-clean to work. I now need to push the door tightly closed until the self-cleaning function kicks in.Now comes my biggest issue. On the morning of December 25, 2016, I cooked a breakfast casserole in the larger oven. Later in the morning I went to put the turkey in the larger oven to find that there was no heat. The fan continued to run but neither the broiler or bake element would work. I called one of the two certified Viking specialists in my area. They couldnt come out until December 29. Once they arrived they called Viking who told them that I needed a new circuit board. I had issues with getting in touch with the Viking recommended Mr. Appliance after I put down a 50% deposit and was forced to call another Viking recommended certified appliance repair company. The second company called Viking Range and ordered the parts that were needed for the repair. It took 3 weeks to get the parts because they were in production. The parts finally came in and the repair guy came out to the house, put the part in... it didnt work. The circuit board was faulty. He then tried to move the small oven circuit board to the larger oven and it shorted because once he tried to put it back into the small oven it didnt work.So now I sit here on February 20, 2017, almost TWO MONTHS LATER, with no oven at all (it was difficult only having access to an oven that only holds a 9x13 pan) and no stove top (one of the repair guys told us that we had to disconnect the gas in order to repair so we had to hire a plumber to come out to disconnect the gas for the low low price of $130. That was done on 1/3/17). I have since had to purchase a countertop burner because I am assuming these parts will take weeks to get. Every Appliance Repair company complains about how hard it is to get in touch with Viking Range. I am fed up with Viking Range and will never recommend their products to anyone, especially for the price.UPDATED ON 04/07/2017: I continue to stand by my stance on NOT purchasing Viking products. It took close to $1700!!! (Over $1200 was for parts alone - several that werent needed had Viking been able to figure out what was wrong with the oven) and close to THREE AND A HALF MONTHS TO FIX my range. First due to the fact that circuit boards are manufactured by different companies and thus are not made the same so they need to be rewired to adapt to your oven. Second, parts take a long time to get. 2-3 weeks was the average time it took to get my parts. Third, Viking has a problem figuring out what is wrong with their OWN product.

We purchased a house that had a Viking refrigerator and we didn’t realize
We purchased a house that had a Viking refrigerator and we didn’t realize the value of the appliance. When it broke and wasn’t cooling in the freezer, we looked and it cost $9,000 to replace, which was a shock. I would never buy a $9,000 refrigerator unless it was to match one that broke and it wouldnt have been my first choice by any means. I don’t think I wouldve ever bought a Viking appliance on purpose. Plus, theres nothing better about the refrigerator and its small for its size. We called a tech from Johnson Service last October and somebody came out. He said that it needed either an inverter or a compressor. One was gonna be 600 bucks and the other one could cost a couple of thousand dollars. Then he took off and we didn’t hear anything from anybody for a couple of months. We would call and ask if somebody was gonna come here and fix our fridge and they would say that they were still waiting on a part. That went on for a couple of weeks. We went through Thanksgiving and Christmas without a refrigerator. We were calling them once a week to ask for an update. They said that the refrigerator was an expired model that Viking doesnt make anymore and that they had to make a whole new kit for the refrigerator, which was what was taking time. Finally, after Christmas, I called Viking directly and asked what the heck was going on. The lady said that that was the first she had heard about it, even though they were the ones that had initially referred me to call Johnson Service. The lady was helpful though. She got on the phone and started making calls to Johnson herself. The next day, I got a call from Johnson and they said that Viking freed up one of the parts needed and that they would be able to get over here in a couple of days to fix the refrigerator. A couple of days went by, but we still hadnt heard from them. Then finally, a week or so later, we got it fixed. It took 10 weeks to get the refrigerator fixed and we didnt get a deal. It still cost $650 to fix it. It was an awful experience. I would never deal with the refrigerator again. I would work with local stuff that I can get people to fix easier.

The Viking range is a great product and most of all, they have great customer service. I had some problems with the first Viking range from the beginning when we bought it. But things like that happen and the way it was handled was very good. Overall, the experience in terms of the customer service, getting everything done and changing the range was excellent. They listened and paid attention to the problem that I told them we had with the range. And they acted on it. That aside, the quality is very good. I like the style and the look of the product and my favorite feature is the oven. I did not have the convection oven before and I like that I can have both features now, conventional and convection, as well as the different settings. Whenever I cook or bake, it comes out better.

The product performance and durability of Viking refrigerators led me to purchase from them. However, I’m very disappointed and frustrated because I have a French door refrigerator, and it is accumulating a lot of ice all the time. The service in Rio de Janeiro, where I live, is very poor. There’s only one authorized dealer that does customer service and he never has the time. He advised me to change the seal rubber that goes on the door, which I did, but the problem continued. I told him this, but there was no response. I was about to write a letter to Viking because this is unacceptable. I’m also not very happy with my experience with the dealer. They sold me one model and they delivered another. I had to keep the one they sent me but I want the model that I purchased. But since they refused to change it, I ended up having received a penalty from them.

We were very excited to purchase multiple kitchen appliances from Viking. In the 14 months Ive owned them, I have had to have the stove serviced 5 times, including visits where the tech didnt even bring the correct parts for our model. Ive had a Viking stove for the past 10 years and I was pretty pleased with the product. And I bought a Viking dishwasher because my old dishwasher, that was approximately over 20 years old, went. So, when my built-in refrigerator went as well, I got a Viking refrigerator because I said, Im just gonna get a Viking. Everything else is Viking. I got my Viking refrigerator through P. C. Richard. In fact, I bought pretty much all my appliances through them and theyve been pretty good.I love my Viking refrigerator. Its roomy and holds a lot. So far, its a great product, so Im happy. I like the fact that the lighting is wonderful. You can see everything thats in it. In addition, I like the way that they have the drawers stacked. I have extra room to put other things in that I couldnt do with my other refrigerator because I had a side-by-side refrigerator then. So, if I had a wide tray, I could never fit it in that other refrigerator. But this one holds everything beautifully. The freezer is a little small, though. It holds a little less than my other refrigerator did but thats okay.

Finding service has not been easy. Theres a list of certified vendors, but its not as easy. I am extremely frustrated with my viking appliances. We saved a long time to purchase the best I thought at the time to be viking. I purchased the microwave, dishwasher, and range. From the very first month I had nothing but problems!! I have never been able to use the stove. It had to be repaired from day one. Cant bake cookies - one side is done, the other burnt. What is sad is that I a have brand new stove and cant use it. Last Thanksgiving I had a half done turkey with 20 people waiting to eat dinner. This is after it was repaired for the 5th time. Now it is Thanksgiving again and I cant use my brand new stove and have to go rent one because my Stove is not working again. The repairman informed me that the part had to be back ordered. Are they Kidding!! With a company their size and how expensive their unusable appliances are, you would think they would have a little replacement part that they could fed-ex the next day especially when they know it is close to a holiday, especially Thanksgiving. The microwave didnt work either and had to be replaced and it still doesnt work, it continually kicks a breaker. We have lived in our house 20 years and never had a breaker problem with our old microwave. Also the knobs on the front of the stove are a fire hazard, if someone even brushes up against them they will turn on. Afraid for the kids.. I would like to take my overly expensive VIKING APPLIANCES that are nothing but junk straight to the city dump. I would NEVER purchase anything that is VIKING again!

The fan of the Viking refrigerator we purchased was annoyingly loud. I have very sensitive hearing and it’s getting me crazy. We also purchased a Viking Range which I like it, but I had some issues with it. And they were not able to completely resolve it without tearing out the range and putting a new one in. When I had service on it, the gentleman said that the very low thats almost like a buzzing sound was just normal for the refrigerator. It sound like I have a constant bumblebee in my home. When I was choosing what refrigerator to buy, I’ve heard nothing but grief from people who are dealing with Sub-Zero, so that eliminated that one immediately. And the other two that I was familiar with were Viking and Thermador. I have a Thermador range in my second home and I’m not thrilled with it so I eliminated that. So I went with Viking and was holding my breath when I did. However, I was misled by the salesman. It was a significant purchase that was almost $12,000. He led me to believe that we were going to get 10% off our purchase back based on the program that Viking was running. But when I read the fine print of the information, that obviously was not the case and I haven’t even had a chance to submit my paperwork. But all in all, I had a good experience as far as the refrigerator, the delivery and the installation were concerned.

We had an old FiveStar 48-inch and we were the second owner and it was on its last legs, so we decided to get a new one instead of spending a lot of money fixing it up. But of course we had a 48-inch space, so we needed a big oven to fill that space instead of redoing the counters. My wife looked at Wolf, Thermador, and the likes and they were all comparably priced. Viking was on the higher end, but one of the main things that had my wife decide was that she was able to get it in colors. Also, she had worked in the restaurant business before and had used Viking on the commercial side. So she knew that they held up and they lasted. The Viking Range works as advertised. It has a griddle and a convection feature. It also has a small oven for a casserole dish and a big one that would fit a full-size cookie sheet with room to spare. We bought it in a store and the dealer was helpful and courteous. They also answered all our questions. However, we had to wait for 12 weeks because of the color but on the day we decided to buy it, we were in and out of there in no time at all.

We had a Viking range and refrigerator in our old house and the range was fabulous and the fridge was terrible due to the interior water dispenser that constantly leaked water that pooled inside the fridge. When we moved to our new home, we needed to, once again, buy a new fridge and we (stupidly) purchased another Viking fridge because we were told the interior water dispenser was discontinued because it was a defective design. NOW, we have no water dispenser and we have an entirely new problem -- where the ice maker sprays water all over the inside of the freezer causing a film of ice to cover everything. Now, I have to defrost my freezer ever 3 weeks like my mom did in the 1970s by taking everything out and scraping chunks of ice out of of the freezer. When the ice maker DOES work, it makes one tray of ice about every 12 hours which is not helpful for a family of 5. We have had the freezer serviced 3x which has cost us a thousand dollars and each time the repairman tells me how many Viking fridges he is called for -- and how AWFUL Viking customer service is. They wont even return his calls. If I could give them a ZERO, I gladly would.

I saw a Viking Range for the first time when I was 13 in Architectural Digest and I wanted it ever since. I finally was able to get one. I did look at competitors but the Viking Range was my favorite. I love that its built with such quality and such simplicity. Its the best of design. Its not overfussy. One of my big worries when I got it is whether or not it would be easy to clean. But the fact that the parts all come off and you can just throw them in the sink, I was surprised by how easy it is to clean. Its everything that it needs to be. We got good service and its a good product. It not only works well but also we enjoy the experience of cooking on the range. We live on a farm so were not on natural gas and we had to adapt to propane. Everyone else that we talked to was not particularly helpful. I built a custom home in 2008 and chose to install an all-Viking kitchen, based on their supposedly superior professional performance, quality and reputation. Specifically, I purchased a 6-burner range with a grill and griddle, double oven, double door ref, wine cooler, microwave, dishwasher and food warming drawers! Within the first month, the drawers in my refrigerator both cracked because the door trays hit them every time they are opened and closed. Then the top shelf and the vegetable drawer froze all of my food! The door to my wine cooler keeps flying open and the dishwasher was serviced several times because it started to smell like a wet dog. The repairmen (several came and couldnt fix the thing) said that it was because the hose kinks trapping food and causing it to ferment. So appetizing! Currently, my dishwasher has been out of service for six months and counting because the authorized Viking servicer cant seem to get the part from the factory because its been discontinued! (My GE dishwasher lasted over 26 years and I could always get parts!). Finally, my Viking microwave broke twice in the first four years! All of this inconvenience and frustration just to have friends come over and admire the Viking Professional logo on all of my appliances, at least until I tell them that Viking has the worst-designed appliances ever made and the quality control department should be standing in some unemployment line somewhere for bilking customers out of their hard-earned money! Dont be a victim! Do not buy Viking!

We had a lot of problems with our old refrigerator. It was a nightmare so I didnt want to buy that same band. I wanted an American made refrigerator so I went through a whole lot of options. We owned other Viking appliances so we looked at them at a store. We bought the Viking ref from an appliance store in Minneapolis. They were very nice. They didnt scratch it during the delivery and the delivery guys were very friendly. There were no issues. The Viking ref is not a regular refrigerator. Its built in so it fits a very specific size and it matches the cupboard, so it cant be easily thrown away. You got to fix them. Another thing I really like about it is I installed it myself and bolted it into the wall. They gave me the directions and showed me where and how to bolt it into the wall. It has a lot of nice lighting. My wife noticed that it doesnt get any mold in it because it has an ozone generator so she doesnt have to sit and clean it up. That is the absolute best feature of the Viking ref. The old ref was always moldy and yucky inside and we hated it. There was no egg holder in the door of the Viking ref. They provided a closed egg container where one had to take it up the shelf, open the cover and take an egg out. That was just a pain. So I made really nice trays that sit in my doors. Viking might want to consider doing that because the other company did that. The ice maker tends to run too much ice that it overflows. When you open up the door it dumps the ice out into the cabinet. But that is little bit of a pain compared to my old refrigerator. Its interesting because its the same exact brand of ice maker my old ref uses. They should improve their icemaker because they buy it from the ice maker company. I hope that Viking is better, but I don’t hold that hope. The most important thing will be to determine how long it lasts without giving us any trouble. They were a good company. Were very happy with the refrigeration from Viking.

We purchased our Viking 30 4 burner range in 2006 and have had to replace the spark ignition module three times in that period. It is a $180 part, and though it is easy to replace, it always results in a minimum service charge of $110 for the first hour. Adding it all up, thats nearly $600 in failed spark modules, adding significantly to the cost of an already-expensive oven range, but the worst thing is it is unreliable. Only two companies had the configurations I wanted for my refrigerator and Viking was one of them. The refrigerator is fine and I like it. Either its not installed right or its just not a good product. Its been months and I havent gotten the new trim kit to see if the issue was in the installation. We chose Viking over GE because of the trim kit, but thats where were having trouble with and the design may not be so great. Ive had my Viking range for about six weeks and I just started to get used to the noise of the fan. But so far, it cooks very well. I’ve always heard of Viking and a lot of places were pushing it. Their reps were excellent and they knew very well. They answered all my questions. They even said how much they love Viking and I’m going to love it. Then, because of my situation with the hood range recirculating, I was told it was better than Wolf and the one that I got is a much safer situation. I have the 3 Series so it’s different. It’s not like the 5 or the 7 and I love the 3 too. It’s just perfect for what I have on the top. It holds my pots nice and its a nice stove for my house. It was also much prettier looking and I liked it better instead of the red knob. I like its knobs versus my old type of stove which was electric. I also like that the Viking is very clear-cut simple. The range is of very good quality, very solid, stern and very powerful. When I used to fry stuff, I used to get oil everywhere. When I fry stuff on here, I’d barely see any oil. It means that the simmer is more professional than what I used to have. Plus, the cleanup is so easy.

We purchased 3 Viking appliances (French door refrigerator, free standing range, dishwasher) in the middle of Sept. 2019 as part of their 3 for 2 deal at close to $10,000. Two of the appliances (range and refrigerator) had problems within the first week. After 2 visits from a technician from the store we purchased the appliances from, the stove seems to be working (for now). Not sure if the problem is really fixed, but hopeful. However, the refrigerator is still defective. The freezer door sagged, went out alignment and appears to be warped. That happened not more than a week after delivery.A technician sent by the company we purchased the appliances from couldnt fix it, had no idea why it happened in the first place. We were told that a technician from Viking approved company would need to attempt a repair. If a repair wouldnt be possible, Viking would exchange the refrigerator. Unfortunately the technician sent by Viking on Monday couldnt fix the problem either, identify the problem or offer any solutions. After reaching out to Viking customer support today (they dont contact you) I was told that they would send another technician from the same company who may have an idea how to fix it! Really? I choose to purchase Viking appliances because I expected good quality products and excellent customer service. Good customer service means that after delivering a defective appliance + 2 attempts to fix a new appliance - you exchange the appliance without asking your customer to take off more time from work to try to fix the problem. I am very disappointed and honestly very surprised that this is the customer service Viking provides.

The first Viking refrigerator that was delivered off of the truck was dirty
The first Viking refrigerator that was delivered off of the truck was dirty. The seams were split and the logo on the front was crooked. The truck people looked it over after taking the plastic off and put it right back on the truck. They rejected it before I did. It was 10 days until I got a new one and the second one has been good so far. We like it but I have one minor complaint. I have to turn off the ice maker because if I let it fill completely, opening the freezer drawer will knock a bunch of ice on the floor. I dont use that much ice and the ice tray is oversized anyway. Other than that, my Viking is high quality and it works well.

Built a home and got all Viking appliances. The dishwasher was included in a special package. I like my french oven and my microwave and 6 burner range top. Theyre fine. The dishwasher I would never purchase again. It is very noisy when its washing. But what really bugs me is the control panel. You cant save any thing like your favor wash cycles. Every time you use it you have to turn it on and press the P button till you get the wash cycle you want then press an F cycle for drying which is like a double switch so Im never sure if I got the right one or not. I should have checked it out better then I never would have bought it.

Viking 36 inch convection range. I prefer gas but we dont have that option, so I went with the electric convection model. I chose Viking because of their reputation. I am not a fan of this range. The 36 inch range has four burners with the smallest burners in the front. The right side burners can be used as a single cooking zone, but the heat isnt consistent. All of the burners adjust the temperature throughout cooking which I suppose is a good feature unless youre trying to boil water. The oven is noisy even without the convection. The oven is self cleaning but it takes 8 hours to go through the cycle! Make sure your installer is familiar with Viking. Ours was not. He was there all day trying to get the range installed, and we had to have a technician back immediately to make adjustments. The range is nothing special for the money. It isnt cheap or cheap looking, but I have had much less expensive ranges that I liked better than this one. I find this range very frustrating to work with. The 36 inch, ceramic top convection model ran about $5000. Its self cleaning, assuming you have the 8 hours needed. The middle rack in the oven glides beautifully which avoids spilling of quiches, souffles, etc. The features I find the least appealing are the ceramic top and the tiny burners in the front. The ceramic is impossible to keep clean and the small burners dont heat the pan evenly. Also, the knobs dont lock into place, so you constantly have to check the settings. The burners self regulate, so the burner will reduce the heat throughout cooking. This becomes very frustrating if you are trying to boil water. Gas is probably more consistent. The oven seems small. The racks do not cook evenly, so you cant use all three simultaneously. I cant tell any difference between convection and non-convection cooking except convection is louder.

My daughter-in-law has a Viking Range and I know that it performs well compared to other company. I love its very accurate cooking, the jets are very powerful and water boils quite quickly. Im just happy with the overall performance. Plus the Viking dealer was very thorough. Theyre just very straightforward and honest about things. They showed a lot of attention when I was there shopping and trying to find that information. Delivery was on time, everything was installed properly and the range itself performed very well.
