Product Reviews:

Our house was on fire and we had deadlines on different things to get done.
Our house was on fire and we had deadlines on different things to get done. We needed the liquid propane and so instead, we got natural gas and had to do the conversion and had to get reimbursed by the dealer. It was not a pleasant experience. Our house had a Viking Range in it so we had to buy a Viking Range to replace it. However, the dealers were terrible. We went to two different places and they both wanted to sell me something that isn’t in stock. They told me, “Oh, yeah. We can get it and we’ll have it in such and such period of time.” Then they wait 24 hours or so and then called me and said, “Oh, I am sorry. We just learned that this is backordered and you’re not gonna get it until hell freezes over.” So I canceled one order with one dealer, then went to another one but they pulled the same stunt on us. But it was nice that we got an extra microwave and a 5% rebate, both offered by Viking. Also, I like the small oven and the hood.

When we went to Nebraska Furniture Mart they had just taken the Viking Ranges out of a showroom because they were showroom models so the price was really good. Ive had the Viking range in my home for about a month now. I can read up on how to do some of the stuff but other than that I like them. My favorite thing is the ball bearing slide-out shelf. I recommend Viking Ranges.

Ive been a cook for many years and I was always fond of the brand. I was torn between Viking and Wolf, and even Monogram. I did a lot of research on all three, and then ended up choosing the Viking. I like the dual oven. That has been convenient to have. The amount of ranges I have on top helps as well, that I can glide the pots across the ranges to move them from one to the other. I also love how fast it heats up. I feel my range took my cooking to another level.

I bought my Viking Range at Best Buy and I love it. Pacific Sales, the company that sold me the floor model, was very helpful. We were in the middle of a remodel at our house so we were buying a refrigerator, a dishwasher, and a microwave for the counter. We looked at the Viking ones and we were kind of disappointed with them. They didnt live up to the Viking quality. Also, the salespeople there told us that they are actually made for Viking by another company because people want the Viking line and matching appliances. Nevertheless, Ive always liked Viking gas ranges because theyre most well known for their commercial type features. Ive liked the cooktop most of all because I like cooking with gas. In sum, my experience with Viking Ranges has been fantastic.

The builder of our home referred us to an appliance place and we ended up with a Viking refrigerator because of the style. We also like the freezer at the bottom. Its three years old now. However, the ice makers broken which is not great. We called and were working on the repair but its taken several weeks.

Ive known of Vikings brand reputation for 20 years and although I was looking at a few others, Viking had a better price point for entry. However, the dealer didnt set expectations of timeline for delivery very well and the project was contingent on that so we could build countertops and finished cabinets. It had taken a couple of months to deliver the products, which was longer than the three to five weeks reported on their website. It forced us to live somewhere else for a couple of months so that was not good and we wouldnt do that again for sure.Afterwards, we wanted some minor adjustments done so we called and had somebody sent out right away. A lot of times, thats undervalued because I could have voided the warranty if I had a local repair shop come and fix it. But Viking made all the final adjustments and thats a huge benefit of the product. Its the best takeaway so far as that service aspect and after using the range for four months, the quality seems great too.

Our Viking range has been really good. We did have one small problem with it very shortly after owning it. Two of the burners wouldnt light. But they quickly got us in touch with somebody to come out and replace the igniters. The person who they had come out and service it was awesome and had it fixed really quickly, but he said, “I just dont like how one of these is lighting. Its still lighting fine, but I just dont want to leave here and say it’s fixed. And then in three months, you have another problem.” So, he came out a second time, even though it was working when he left, and replaced that igniter entirely. It was great customer service from them. The only challenge with Viking is totally esthetic. The only frustrating part is that the surface below the grates are very shiny black, and theyre the ultimate dust collector if youre not keeping on top of it.

I liked how the Viking products were built. They seemed very sturdy and the quality was very good. I love the high powered burner. Theres one thats super high power so I can boil water really fast. But recently the timer broke on my range. I called the repairman who found damage to the door. The range was working fine but this was something that couldnt be repaired so it was a big deal. He then contacted his Viking rep but afterwards they sent me an entirely new range and covered the installation. They were no longer making the model that I had, so I ended up with an upgrade and I didnt have to pay for a thing. I was blown away. The issue with the timers is that when the oven is heated up really high for cleaning, that destroyed the timer mechanism. The ranges dont come with a timer anymore and they had improved the range since I got mine in 2012. They sell a kit in case peoples timers go out. But what they did for me was amazing. They stand by their product. I will be a Viking owner for life.

Our Viking microwave oven stopped working and the parts took over two weeks to come into the warranty service company. That part arrived broken (or the service man broke it) and we waited another three weeks for the part to arrive. The part was in stock according to the Viking parts rep, so that delay is not acceptable. The functioning of both the microwave and oven are fine not great (cant use timer on microwave if its heating something and its unclear when the oven has reached the desired preheat temperature). All these issues make it highly doubtful wed purchase or recommend Viking again.

I bought 1st one mid Year 2015, the panel buttons caved in, rendering the microwave unusable, at 18 months. Purchase a second identical microwave July 2018.Second microwave had no updraft of exhaust, tons of exhaust flow from the top, repairman couldn’t determine where exhaust was coming from. Magnetron did not operate properly microwave, sounded as if motor was straining, lagging and power was not even. Excessive condensation built up inside door. Viking replaced microwave instead of trying to fix it. It took about a month to get replacement. I received a call at 445 that installer was Enroute and should be here by 6pm same day.Last night I got the 3rd otr microwave, in 3 years. Mentioned that updraft exhaust was not good, microwave #1 had excellent exhaust (updraft). Was told by installer that these don’t really operate that well. Probably the most honest thing I’ve heard. Love my Viking range. Hate the microwave, wouldn’t buy another Viking microwave, yes I realize 80% are made by Sharp. Would look to another brand.

But once I paid, I was had a hard time getting updates on the delivery date. Another thing was the range was too expensive. Other than that, the design of the range fits my kitchen and my cooking style. I do quite a bit of stir-frying so a high BTU range helps quite a bit. I also like the amount of flame that comes out. Its really nice.

My friends have Viking Ranges and I like their price so I got one too. However, the handle on my oven door broke so I put in a service request over a month ago and their technician came and ordered the parts for the door, and I havent heard from them since. All the fans are not working either. It makes a loud noise and it doesnt heat up properly. I have no oven for over a month now and I cant get anyone to come over and fix it. I have three teenagers and I cant entertain, and I wasnt able to entertain last Easter. I sent a nasty email last week and they told me that the parts take a long time to order so Im not a happy camper. I would have been happy with it, but I cant use it. I bought it last July so it hasnt been a year yet. I think its a discontinued model thats why its giving me the trouble.

Bought both (Viking 30 All Fridge, and Viking 30 All Freezer) as showroom models at a discount manufactured 2009 and 2006. Thought they would be under warranty. Problems began - freezer does not freeze my ice cream. They replaced the coils, the fan, the thermistor, the thermistor connector wire. And STILL it does not freeze my ice cream. I have to manually defrost the freezer, then it works ok for a week then back again. Fridge is another story. Started off randomly beeping once a month or so. So I turned off the fridge and turned it back on, and it seemed fine. That was 3 months ago. Now it does not stop beeping, and the fan does not come on. We replaced the thermistor, the powerboard and still it’s beeping. Viking has now told me it is no longer under warranty and so Im on my own. They cant understand why it beeps. Ive had 4 different technicians come out and they are at a loss. Viking does not want to speak to me, since I am not a technician, and have no warranty. Problem is, it’s not easy to replace a 60 space in the middle of the cabinets and I cant think of replacing the whole kitchen which is only 2 years old.

Viking ranges are so expensive and buying one was not our goal. But we just remodeled out kitchen and when we went into the showroom to start buying all the appliances, we walked by a Viking range and it was the most beautiful thing we ever saw. My husband loves to cook and we thought we had to have that. So we spent the money and bought one because of how it looked. Also, the brand name is nothing but the best. Viking is synonymous with quality and youre gonna lay down some bucks for it but it is worth it.The reps at the Viking dealership were super great. It was a location where they sell several brand names but the rep that helped us couldnt have been more helpful, nice, and informative. We bought the one with the four burners and the grill in the middle. My husbands favorite feature is the grill and mine is the baking oven. I like the way it has the latch pull out which are like on rollers. The quality of the range is beautiful and our experience with it has been great so far. But Im concerned about the way that little vent that is at the back of the cook area is placed because when it bends out, it kinda hits on our backsplash and over time, that heat at the scene may be an issue. I wish the guy told us that when we bought the range, but that is not a complaint. We bought the Viking dishwasher as well. We had a guy come out and he said that they are great dishwashers but he hates to work on them because they are so complicated. Youve got to pull things apart. But he said that he doesn’t have a lot of problems with them other than it sucks when he has to work on them. As a consumer, we bought it because it has the bottom rack, the top rack, and this little rack underneath that you pull out where you can put utensils or knives. That is brilliant. I show everybody that feature and every person Ive shown it to said that they wish their dishwasher had that. So it had an extra feature that, for a consumer, is a winner. We almost bought an under-the-cabinet-microwave-drawer from Viking, too. But we didn’t do it because in the Viking ones, the buttons are on top so, there wasn’t going to be enough room once you put your granite countertop on. People don’t generally put those low so you cant really get your hand to touch them. So, we went with a Sharp microwave drawer because its feature was you pop open that little drawer for all the buttons. So, it was better and easily accessible. Aside from that, we would have bought all Viking.

It didnt have coolant in it. So we had a couple of people come out to fix it. Weve also ordered parts for the new freezer but were still determining whether we want to put them in or not because it seems to be working now. Other than that, its a great refrigerator and the quality is good. I like the dispenser of water inside the refrigerator and it looks good.

This over/under built in refrigerator looked like a carbon copy of the Sub Zero we had, and loved, in our prior home. Looks can be deceiving. This refrigerator is really a portal to, well, you know where. Why travel to Alaskas famed Mendenhall Glacier to watch huge chunks of ice calve when you can recreate the experience on your hands and knees, blow-drying the freezer section of your Viking, chipping away ice chunks in the faint aurora borialis of the refrigerator light? Over, and over again. I would have to pull repair invoices but venture that weve spent $2,000 in service calls and repairs in the last 8 years: > Broken door shelf brackets > Door seal replacements (think middle of the night temperature warning beeper) > Main control board replacement> Multiple repair visits in attempts to address freezer defrost issuesThe freezer section has been a nightmare. Poor defroster system design leading to repeated, massive ice build-ups and melt-water dripping out of the door and ruining our hardwood floor. Incredibly disappointing for the cost, and perceived quality of this appliance. We highly recommend avoiding Viking.

Im a fireman and we have professional restaurant quality ranges so Im familiar with Viking. I like the style, quality and price of my Viking range. It needed a little bit of adjustment and thats about it. I also like the fact that it allows to heat up the pots, and the oven heats up really well so its very efficient. The dealer and delivery crew were great. And the service person has been here to look at it for a couple of issues. It was perfect. Overall, I got a good product for the money I paid and the individuals there at Viking really tried to help me when I called them up with an issue. We bought an entire set of Viking appliances: vegetable drawer, beverage fridge, and ovens. The fridge specifically has been fantastic, just the quality of it and the features that it has. Having the freezer at the bottom is a great feature. We have the two drawers there that pull out separately. Also, theres a separate rolling tray that separates between the upper and lower half of the freezer itself, which is great. We also like that since the door is a French door, we can put in wider items there like a tray of longer cake, whereas if its double doors, it wouldnt be like that. We highly recommend it and its a game-changer.

My mom had a Viking range. I liked that it had the dual fuel and self-cleaning oven, so we got one too and we really like it. It is sturdy and seems very well-made, unlike some of those cheap or lower-end brands. I like all of its features. I like that the burner grates are individual, so they’re not so heavy to lift up. I saw that some other brands had only three burner grates or these were doubles, and I did not like having to pick up that heavy stuff. I had Viking for 14 years and I never had a problem with it. I liked it very much and decided to go with it again. The first one I had, I liked its dependability and the way it cooked. It was a high performing stove, and I liked that. What I have now is the same model, newer, and it’s no different. I had two problems however. I ordered my Viking range and when it came, there was a gas leak in it. The Viking person could not find any smell of gas, and he thought I was crazy. I had the gas company out and they found that it was inside the stove. Then the second time, they took that stove away and gave me another one, and I had a defect in that one also. In 2009, we replaced our 17-year-old SubZero with a Viking Refrigerator (15.2 cu ft of fridge and 5.1 cu ft of freezer). Aitoros in Norwalk, CT threw in a Viking wine fridge for free. The doors to the butter shelf broke very quickly after purchase and the cheese door is cracked. We also purchased an extended warranty. Bottom line, the service company after 5 attempts to fix the refrigerator told us we were keeping the door open too long. We are empty nesters who work all day and are nowhere near the kitchen. Calls to Aitoros did nothing. Calls to Viking Custom Service referred us to another store who does not service appliances purchased elsewhere. The service company who covers the warranty is unresponsive. For the last 6 months, our food is in the vintage, mustard yellow, GE refrigerator vintage 1977 (in the basement) which works like a champ. I would never, ever recommend a Viking appliance to anyone. I will never purchase another appliance from Airotos who we have used for the last 20 years. Whatever happened to customer service? It seems we have no other alternative than to go and buy a new refrigerator.

Viking refrigerators had the designs we were interested in so I bought from them. But the quality is very substandard. They had to replace the first refrigerator because it was defective. It took eight service calls with countless calls back and forth over a period of seven months to finally replace it. Then, they shipped a new one and before they installed it, the installer scraped off the insulation on the outside of the door. It was a custom ready refrigerator so we installed our own custom panel on the outside of the refrigerator. So now, we’re getting water drippage between the refrigerator door and the inside surface of the custom panel onto our hardwood floors. And the food is freezing inside the refrigerator.I’ve been going back and forth with Viking for a couple of weeks about this and I found out that they changed the engineering on the door. They’re saying that they can have new doors installed but they can’t be held accountable if my custom panels won’t fit the door. They’re not giving me any help. I called Juanita, the supervisor in the customer service department and she doesn’t answer our calls and doesn’t return calls readily. It’s ridiculous. My whole kitchen was breaking. I have this very expensive 42-inch side by side refrigerator, the dishwasher and the warming drawer. All the appliances are Viking. And then I don’t get straight answers from them at all. Wolf and Viking were our go-to brands and Viking Ranges price point was better than Wolf. The Viking dealer we bought it from was more of a challenge. We had a damaged Viking hood that we had to get replaced and I know the product was non-Viking. We got a fourth trim kit before it was not dented out of the box. If I didnt go in there and follow up all the time, I wouldnt have it. They could have answered emails or returned phone calls. And I was very disappointed that we spent like $38,000 of them. But we eventually got it all resolved four months later. Its the best oven weve ever owned. When you cook meat in it, everything just comes out so much better. Its easier to cook them to temp. We cooked one of those Tomahawk steaks for the first time and it came out just like in a restaurant. It was amazing. The freezer side continually has frost issues, and 3 times since we purchased, the temperature spikes high and we have to discard hundreds of dollars of frozen items. We dealt with it over the phone, and the rep answered a few questions for me over the phone. We’ve only had our Viking refrigerator for about a month but we like it. It works, and it gets my beer cold.

There have still been some installation problems, but we’re working on it
There have still been some installation problems, but we’re working on it. The range does not sit all the way in because the gas hookup isn’t compatible with a spec home. So theres a three-inch gap between the range and the wall. We were told by Nebraska Furniture Mart, which is where we bought the range, that we needed to get an L joint to connect it and push it further back. But they havent been able to do that. Theyve given us absolutely no guidance in what to do about it now. Changing it from a connector that comes up through the floor is simply not an option. According to our builder, its not usual to put the gas line through the floor. It’s usual to put it through the wall because ranges normally have a dead space at the bottom. Apparently, Viking does not. It’s not my first Viking, so I dont know why it never happened before. Nebraska Furniture Mart has been zero help. So we’re working with our builder to see what we can do. The range is not flushed against the wall. So when the automatic fan comes on, it vibrates like crazy. We’ve built several houses and we’ve had Viking range before. We like it and it’s a good range. We’ve never had any problems with the actual functioning of the range.

I would NOT buy these overpriced, underperforming units again.

I purchased all Viking appliances for my newly remodeled kitchen 2 years ago. I have had to have each of them repaired at least once. I am currently waiting for the fourth service call on the refrigerator. There is only one warranty repair service company in my area and I have to wait at least 2 weeks to get service. The dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave and 6 burner dual fuel range are not worth the money I spent. I would absolutely not recommend Viking appliances to anyone. I am very concerned what they will cost to repair when the warranties expire. I would strongly suggest potential consumers to look for an alternative product unless you enjoy waiting for repair service.

Horrible dishwasher. A yard hose would do a better job. The top tray was never stable so I threw it out! Now we have only the bottom tray. Sometimes I literally have to start and restart up to 7 times for the cycle to catch. Btw, Viking refrigerator works exception but the clear hard plastic interior trays/covers cracked every three months. After the third time they replaced the butter cover, meat cover, etc. I was advised they would no longer honor the warranty. Redic company!

I had a girlfriend who had a Viking range from years ago and it worked really well for her with no problems. That was encouraging for me. Although Viking started having a lot of issues, it sounded in various sites that I was reading that they had been taken care of so I decided I would go with the company. The sales rep showed us a lot of variety of different brands of stoves. When it came to us looking at the Viking range, he didnt pressure us and he told us to take our time. He just showed us the various features of it. We were pleased and we went back a second time. We were still satisfied with the way he was handling everything. Were really were enjoying our range. Were happy with the intensity of the heat and how it responds. Its such a solid range and its very efficient. It looks good and it feels good to work with it. Also, we got our range at a reduced price as it was on sale. That helped. For what we paid for it and given the quality, it was money well-spent. I looked at other models of stoves and this one seemed superior for the difference in cost.

Ive built a few houses myself and somewhat custom kitchens in them, and Ive known about Viking Ranges for years. I always liked the Viking product and the experience purchasing online was very good. Before I shopped, I went on the website and navigated through it, looking at what features they had and what I was interested in with respect to packages that were available. I bought the package which includes the refrigerator, a range, a dishwasher and an icemaker. After that, I was directed towards where I purchased. The supplier did a very good job of walking me through my options and my rebate options, which was something I hadn’t thought of, and it saved me some good money. Im putting a new kitchen in and the range is not up and running yet, but I have plugged it in. I love the LED lights that are displayed on the front, so that was really cool. I have a Wolfe upstairs in my kitchen and it doesn’t have the features this one has.

We moved into a brand new home about four weeks ago and I think I was most excited about the Viking range. Wed worked really hard for this house and Id always viewed Viking as top drawer. What a disappointment its been. Since the day we moved in, it hasnt worked and multiple visits by Viking repair people still havent helped. Were about a hot minute from replacing it. The salesperson at our Best Buy who weve come to trust tells us that Thermador is a much better buy. So the morale to the story is buyer beware: go with quality even when it might not have the name quotient.

The Viking Range in our house has been in it longer than we have and weve been here for maybe four years but its pretty good. I got it serviced last Friday to make sure all the parts are working in order and for the most part, everything is working fairly well. I like the griddle part of the range because its fairly easy to use and clean. The whole range is easy to clean because everything pops off fairly easy. Im not a neat freak but its nice to be able to get all the food out of the crevices. Also, cooking on it is fairly easy. But, I cant get the temperature low enough. The low feature is too hot and when I simmer, I cant seem to get close enough to it without igniting the pilot light again. For example, usually with rice, you put on a low simmer and the low setting is just still too hot for it. Also, I dont know if this would interfere with the flame but we have a gas stove and an overhead exhaust and it would be nice to have the exhaust where the oven outtake is. Because instead of having an exhaust over the food, it would just be more on the same plane as the food. Its also nice to not have the fan on because its so loud when Im cooking and I feel like Im in a wind tunnel. But other than those, the functionality of the stove is quite useful. The dual oven is also pretty nice but its cavity cant fit a turkey. You have the three-inch roasting pin, the elevation to that and then you have the bird which has a big breadth to it so Im not able to put it in the oven. But, for the most part, its pretty nice with the conduction and all those features. Then, we have an industrial professional grade, so its raised off the floor a good three inches. You could use that to gain more cavity space. In addition, we have a little warming oven to the side and the width of that is too narrow but the height on it is perfect. I would like it a little bit wider for most dishes and sheet pans.I think its very reliable and very consistent. However, my husband said that if he had his wishes, he wouldnt buy a Viking range again, but he doesnt cook and he doesnt get into the kitchen at all. I think its because its such a big piece of equipment but the actual components of it are very small. Wolf is what he really liked and the dial controls are a lot more flexible based on what youre cooking and the cavity is much bigger. But I would say some positives with Viking is that the cooktop space of the range is very open. I have a lot of big pans but Im able to put two big pans side-by-side without having problems. Also, I can put a small pan on top and not feel like its being swallowed up by the burner.

I own a heat and air company so we work on these refrigerator units and Viking is a middle-grade nice refrigerator. Then other brands, like Sub-Zero, have two pieces of refrigeration. They have a separate unit for a freezer. So I chose Viking. Besides, the floor-plan price for this unit was $7,500. I was going there thinking I was gonna spend about $17,000. But I bought this from Plugs and although this one is normally $12,000, the guy there said he would sell it to me for 7,500 bucks. I told him I didnt want a year-old model. I wanted to have a new one and he said that it was a brand new model. But I later found out that it was a year- or two-year-old unit sitting on the floor. The way it was sold to me is my only problem. But as far as the unit itself, it’s fine. I like everything about it.When we had a water leak problem, I had my son go look at it and it was bad water inlet valve. It was no big deal. But when I called the factory, they said that it was not under warranty. I told them that it was though. It was brand new and it had not been in the house for four weeks at the time. It took three months but I finally got a water inlet valve. The salesman from Plugs got involved with his Viking representative so he got it for me. However, if I have a problem tomorrow, what’s gonna happen with my warranty? I gotta call that dude back now at Plugs and ask about that. But now, I’m having a problem with everything freezing on the front shelf. It’s just on the top shelf though, where the air blows out of the evaporator. And they have a fix and it doesn’t cost me anything. I recently found out Viking actually makes a piece of duct, that I just need to call in the factory to get.

I own a Viking range and I use them for customers. When I built a new home, they were clearing out at the Ferguson showroom and there was a Viking and a Thermador. The Thermador was under warranty in a matter of a year and that was good. It was a 48-inch, it went through bolts and boards, and it went through the heating element. So it went through a lot and to me, that was not great. Its convection also had a huge loud sound and I didnt like that at all. On the other hand, the Viking was very quiet and I really liked it a lot better. So I gave it a shot and purchased it online. I could have gone through the dealer in Salt Lake, but I would have had to pay taxes. If I had to do it again, though, Id probably go with the dealer thats close because I had to return one item and it has been a real pain. At first, they told me that they were not going to take the part back. But it was still in the box and we couldnt install the back part because there wasnt enough room. And we didnt know that until we got the back part. Then, they said they would take it back, but I had to ship it back and it was a double package so it would cost $75 to ship it. It also took forever for them to acknowledge they got it and when they said they have issued the credit, I still hadnt seen it. Overall, I love Viking and its various simmers. Its a beautiful stove and it works great. Its also functional and very effective. Its commercial great, too, so its worth the money. But I really wanted to get certain features and to get them, I had to keep upgrading. Then, when we moved, I had to downgrade to a 30-inch. So, that was hard when I had the nice, big double ovens. They should also make the colored ones cheaper so I could get the beautiful cobalt blue or the red one. I love the easy glide over rack as well and I want to know where to purchase it.

Weve had a very poor experience with our Viking. I had to return it to the store twice and then ultimately replace it with a different brand altogether. Most of the issues stem from a true ignition type igniter which is how the Vikings operate. So, when you set it to cook, it goes tick, tick, tick, and then lights itself up. But then, it shuts down. Also, to maintain temperature every few minutes, it tick, tick, ticks and fires up again. Once it comes up to temperature, it has clanging sounds. It also has an extremely loud fan that runs constantly the moment you turn the oven on. That was what we sought to fix via a replacement of the unit. The first one we received had a miscut piece in the air vent at the back. At first, they serviced it and said it was probably a defective fan. So, we swapped it with a brand-new one and it had the same problem. It cooks fine but its loud. My wife is a gourmet chef and she can appreciate the higher quality of things. Shes much happier with the LG that we ended up getting versus the Viking.

My husband enjoys cooking. We were looking at other ranges all around the same price and we found Viking. It was on sale at the store and we were saving a couple of thousand bucks. So far, it seems it has a good quality. I like the blue light that lights up the knobs. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to see what I’m doing. I also like the way the racks inside the oven slide nicely. The sales rep was friendly. But after the purchase was made my husband had a few questions, and they weren’t so quick to talk to him or call him back like they were before the purchase. Also, I find it odd that it doesn’t have a self-cleaning oven. When I turn the burners on they don’t always ignite and burn evenly the way I would expect them to. I do the baking and seeing that it’s Christmas, I’ve been making cookies that I can only bake in the middle rack. It’s funny because in all the advertisements they show a door opens full of all kinds of goodies on all three levels, and I can’t cook that way. I have the middle rack and that’s it. Anything on top or bottom burns. And they’re not removable racks, except for the middle one. The top and the bottom are on roller slide, that’s why they move so easily. I can’t just pull it out and move it up or down.

Viking is reasonably priced and is a decent-looking commercial brand. I like my refrigerator. The quality is fantastic. I like the size of it. It’s big and bulky, and probably a waste of time and money but I like it. I also got a stove, a little 30- or 36-inch, the hood, the microwave, the dishwasher and then I have a wine cooler. But I wasn’t that happy with the people. They didnt take me seriously, first of all. I went and spent like $20,000 or so and then I spent more, and they were acting like idiots. They didnt know half of what was going on with what they were selling. They didnt sell anything, actually. If I hadnt known what I was gonna get, I wouldn’t have a clue. But I had done all my investigating ahead of time. I’m a contractor too so I’ve seen stuff. The delivery service was terrible as well. They dropped my fridge when they delivered it and if I hadnt been there that day, it wouldve rolled over. I thought people who would sell this material would be told they better put their heart into it and act like they know what theyre doing. But they didnt actually have that. So Viking is not being represented so well where I bought it from. That was not a Viking dealer that I went through though. It was just a store that sold their products. We have a full suite of Viking appliances. Its pricey but we chose them for their reputation and style. My wife likes the refrigerator more but I find it a little too shallow. Everythings up front. But aesthetically, its very pleasing and it goes with the other appliances as well as the rest of the redone kitchen, and it’s so far, so good. Initially, we had a problem with the refrigerator. It was probably within the first month. Id found a puddle of water below the freezer on the floor. I did not appreciate that at all. It had gone into a defrost mode unexpectedly, and we had to throw everything in the freezer away. The icemaker has that bar that will cut it off as it slows up. That doesnt work. The ice overflows and ends up on the bottom of the freezer. It’s never turned itself off, so you have to turn it off manually to stop the ice being generated. Otherwise, if you pull out the top shelf of the freezer, its higher than the rod because it pushes it out of it, pushes it to the back and out the back, off the end. Were not the only ones. We speak to other people who have it, and they say they have the same issue. From what I understand, there is no fix. It just doesnt do what you thought it would do. Thats something that from a design perspective should be looked at.

When I shut the freezer door of the Viking refrigerator, it hangs up about a half an inch on one side and then I gotta slam it in. Its also overheating. Then every time I open the freezer drawer, the ice bin flips out on the floor, it goes backward. The machine rubs on the top of the ice because the ice bin is full and so the ice flips out. Now Ive got to open the door very carefully so I dont get ice on the floor because my floor is not in yet. But if I normally pull the door, it would do that. Viking could have designed this a little bit better.I called the retailer, Freds Appliance, immediately for repair and they said theyd get somebody out. I bought a $8,500 Viking Refrigerator in late 2004. When I started having problems in 2017, I called the only appliance repair in Fredericksburg, VA for Viking. They arrived and charged $90 and told me to plug the fridge in after it defrosted. The repairman had taken out the basket and freezer door and took the screws with him. When I called them, they sent me an estimate for $1500. I asked them why $1500 estimate when they didnt run the diagnostics? They said that was the worst case scenario. How can anyone decide whether to repair or not if you dont know whats wrong. I called Viking customer service and they were indifferent. DONT BUY VIKING!

Im a kitchen and bath remodeling contractor and I installed a Viking rvgr3305bss 30 gas range and, it came with 2 out of 5 knobs, were missing inserts, and called, and was on hold forever. Then when I explained the problem, they said it was probably Best Buys fault??? Luckily they are sending replacements but its a problem that should not exist. They should check these out before shipping them. Ive installed ranges from others that are a third the price and have much better quality - very disappointed. Might I mention this range cost $3,600. Buy Kenmore or Whirlpool, they are of much better quality.

I have a Wolf grill and a Heartland stove. I have very high-end appliances in my home and the Viking fridge is a dog. When the reps brought it out here, they scratched my floor. Then, the door handles had a dent in them, which took six weeks to get fixed. Aside from that, the ice maker wasnt working and when they came out, they told us the motherboard was fried. It was a brand-new $11,000 refrigerator and the motherboard was fried. And the repairman said that happens a lot. So, Im not happy with it. I had a Sub-Zero for 21 years and it never gave me a problem. Viking has been nothing but problems. Its loud and when the motor goes on, I hear it.

I got my Viking Refrigerator when I bought the house one year ago and the fridge was awesome. But then a drawer came out and I couldnt get it back in. I spent five hours trying to get that back together. Even my husband tried and he couldn’t do it, then other pieces were falling out. I tried to hold it up with water bottles at one time. I called Viking and someone is coming to fix it tomorrow free of charge. They ordered all new replacement parts. Still, the Viking fridge is an excellent product. I like the door alarm too. If you don’t get it shut, it beeps.

Viking customer service, should be called customer LACK OF SERVICE. 30-40 minute hold times on phone, lack of knowledge of product parts. Viking has discontinued the part for an 8 year old dishwasher, and only resolve is to charge you for a new appliance, with less discount than I can get at big box store and a charge for installation. Do not use Chesterfield Appliance for Viking repairs. Overpriced and not knowledgeable about product.

Replaced an existing 36 built in Viking with the same size ($7700.00). Didnt want to repair the wood molding to fit a non-built in unit. One year, both Crisper drawers (middle shelves) are cracked in front. Both have vertical cracks in the middle of the drawers. Doesnt affect the operation, but it is at eye-level to remind you every time you open the door. I did save the shelves/drawers from the old removed Viking unit. Unfortunately, I only have one spare shelf left because the Wife has sold my spares to other unfortunate Viking Customers. Oh, and the same issue as everyone else with the Ice Maker; if you dont monitor the amount in the bin and shut-off the arm, every time you open the freezer door ice falls out the bin into the back of the freezer. Doubt I will purchase $180.00 drawers because of cracks.

I went to the building in Manhattan. It has all the showcases and thats where I picked out the Viking Range. I liked their reputation and the price point. Then I called Appliance World and they had it shipped to my house. During delivery, it came damaged as the bottom trim piece was dented. I called Appliance World and within three days, I had the little piece over here ready in the mail. The fact that I went from an electric grill to a gas grill makes a big difference to me. Its been about a year now since Ive had it and its been a good stove and hood.

I wanted to make sure everything matched for my wife and that my wife enjoyed it, and that it would look fine in the house that we live in, so we bought our appliances from Viking. I liked their stove and I was hoping that theirs would be better products than the other products right now. So far, nothing has broken down. I like my appliances, and everything I bought is great and excellent. At the Viking dealer, one of the salesmen helped me and as we were talking, the manager came up and then I was talking to him. They were really polite and kind and courteous. I appreciated that he took his time to explain things to me the things I would ask him about (like the warranty). Then he set up the delivery date and everything came out on time. Everything was fine. I have nothing bad to say about the people that helped me there or my whole experience with Viking. They were wonderful.

I went into a model home and compared Viking Refrigerators to Wolf and some other ones. Vikings quality and price were a little bit better so I decided to give it a try. I like the two lower drawers, one for the refrigeration and one for the freezer. However, it takes longer for it to make ice. We also had to get a part replaced because we had some leaking from the freezer. But, we were able to get a repair guy out to handle it during the warranty period. Other than that, everything is fine.

We thought Viking had a good reputation. We bought a brand new Viking stove oven but it was defective from the start. It has been months since we reported the issue and Viking has been looking into it. However, it has been extremely slow and unsatisfactory plus we have to keep doing the follow-up. They had to order parts and it was absurdly a long time. They should be able to put the order and have it on a day or two and not weeks then tell us its on back order. We do have a service call. They said that the parts came in and its gonna fix it.Viking is poorly handling our situation. We asked for this thing to be escalated weeks and months ago but it doesnt go anywhere. Weve been trying to talk to someone in quality control since they should know about the production issue and fix it. We got promises that they will get back to us but no one does that. They also promised that they would send us a summary via email and there is no email. At this point, we’re clearly not happy Viking customers and we would never ever recommend a Viking product.

My range performs as it should and its a very different cooking experience than what I had prior. We are very happy with the product and overall, Im pleasantly surprised. We knew we were buying a higher-end appliance set and our Viking has exceeded expectations which is great.

When we did a complete remodel of our kitchen in 2018 we purchased Viking range top, downdraft vent & dual wall ovens. Viking had a promotion going where they threw in the dishwasher. The dishwasher stopped working in late January 2019, about 8 months after installation. We called the Viking authorized appliance repair company. They sent a service tech out 8 days later. He informed us the dishwasher had a bad water pump and circuit board. Told us it would take a week or two to get replacement parts. Never heard back so after two weeks I called the service center and was informed the parts would be in late March which means were out of a dishwasher for over 2 months.I am a general contractor with over 40 years in the business and have never experienced a dishwasher failure. I guess that is why Viking is giving them away! I may go ahead and purchase a Miele and throw this Viking unit out. I dont know how Viking can justify two month wait times for parts. Im really happy that it wasnt the cooktop or oven with a problem but now wondering if we do have an issue with either of those how long will it take to get parts.

After 4 repairs on an original and 10 repairs on a complete replacement Viking double wall oven, we gave up. We couldnt spend any more time waiting the four-hour window for repairmen, and no correction to maintaining a constant oven temp. Two repairmen broke fingers during repairs, no lie. Viking warranty people lacked response often, and convinced me to keep trying. Also, the cook top grates have little rubber feet that kept melting and falling off. DANGEROUS! Replaced about 6 times. Ten years later, dozens of burnt or under cooked meals, cookies etc., we are finally able to and frustrated enough to get something new. The hesitation is the cabinet was cut larger to fit Viking. And what do you buy? This is a short version on the problems with Viking and Viking associates. I could go on and on. BUY SOMETHING ELSE and save your sanity.

I bought it in an open-box store, so I didn’t have to deal with the Viking dealers who are inflexible on pricing and everything else. I was looking for a pro series refrigerator to match my professional appliances. The Viking Refrigerator met my requirements plus it was around my budget. The person from the store has been helping me with the appliances and choosing the right ones, and thought highly about the Viking Refrigerator. It’s very well lit with the LED lighting and it’s nice being able to open it and see everything. I like the number of shelves and the fact that I can reconfigure them. I have one that folds in half, so thats also neat because I may not need a full shelf. I could fold one of the shelves in half to fit a gallon of milk or orange juice, but if I dont have that, maybe I want to have the shelves instead. Also, the control panel lights up and temperature cool zone can be adjusted to cool whatever food you’re storing and it will keep it at that temperature plus the dial setting can be easily accessed because it’s in the inside of the door. Thats very helpful because with other refrigerators, they have it in places where someone cant even reach. The only issue that I had was that I had to have the refrigerator replaced 3 times because of the doors being not aligned and even. They tried to align the doors but the top part was wider open than the bottom. The store said that they couldnt do anything with it because the wheels in the back were not adjustable and they could not also adjust the doors. They could only do operating on adjustments. I called Viking service and they sent a repairman who said that it was actually defective and I need it to have it replaced. The reason it happened twice is because the store said, Well order a replacement, but when it came, one of the doors was dented. Theyve had the same issue, and they were not going to leave it with me. Theyre going to take it back. The store said, If youre not happy with the Viking maybe you could choose a different model or a different refrigerator. But even though the Viking refrigerator has those issues, I liked it and was already in love with it. I couldnt find that different selection. So then they delivered a new one and it was better than the other one. It wasnt wobbly but it still had an issue with the doors. However, when the repairman came and told me that it was defective, he said the doors could be fixed but not the wobbly part. They called the service again and I said, I got the replacement refrigerator. Can you come fix the door? They did, so now its good.At least, they let me keep the refrigerator until I got the replacement so I was not without a refrigerator. But because it was a special order it would take long time, like in a month. I wasnt happy because of everything else, but regarding the unit itself and how it operates, I would definitely recommend it. For the price, its great because it competes with the professional refrigerators.

I like that Vikings interior was metal and not plastic. Its a beautiful 42 inch brand new fridge but my experience with it has been sucky. The ice maker didnt work. It would make one layer and then it would stop. It took three trips from the repairman to fix it and it was frustrating. They came here once and couldnt figure it out. They brought a new ice maker and put it in. It still didnt work. I had to call again and they told me stupid things to do like turning down the freezer, but it was already at minus one. How the hell low do they want me to make the freezer? Then they changed the ice maker again. It is now fixed and doing good but Im worried that its gonna go out of warranty if it breaks again. I wasnt happy with the service at all.

Ive always heard good things about Viking. Several years ago, I heard bad things about them but I decided to give them a chance because they are out of Greenwood and my niece lives there. I chose Viking because it did have a good reputation. Plus, they offered the free dishwasher to come with the range. Building a home, that was an incentive for us. I absolutely love the quality of the range. We lived in military housing for so long and we had an electric stove and all my pots would hit each other. I couldnt wait to get a gas range. My brother said to get a 36-inch and Im so glad that I did because my pots can breathe. They dont touch each other. I love the roominess. Weve used it for about two weeks now and weve been very pleased. They have set off our alarms but thats because we didnt put the hood on. Other than that, it heats up immediately and it puts out just the right amount of heat. I love that it cooks my potato quickly. Its also easy to clean. I do have a sponge that I use to make sure it doesnt scratch because when I inquired one time, you have to be careful not to use something that would be abrasive to scratch it. I like the grates. Theyre very heavy-duty. I do like the knobs too. They are big and easy to turn. I thought it would be cute if they came in different colors but when I called in, they said theres another competitor that is known for certain colors. Ive noticed that the back cooks faster than the front but it performs beautifully. It looks like theyve improved from what had happened a couple of years ago. Theyre trying to get their name back.

At the beginning, I wasnt happy with Viking - they didn’t have good reviews. After I went to the store, the guy convinced me that they had changed and they were doing a better job with them. He told me to try it out and that if I didn’t like it, they would take it back. The refrigerator was making a noise and that was bothering me. We had a GE for 16 years and it was fantastic so when I started hearing the noise, I figured I made a mistake. We have called somebody to come and check it out, but they said everything was okay. I dont know if they adjusted something but after that, it’s been working pretty good. I like the bottom drawers of the refrigerator. It’s like a long drawer and has a nice size since I can put a lot of stuff in there. On the other hand, the toe grille was not put in properly. One side is lower on the floor and the other one is higher. Even though we try to screw it in, it doesnt do anything and it just keeps coming down. I was thinking of calling the other day about that because it was bothering me. But other than that, Im very happy with my Viking. I havent had any problems yet and I have it almost for a year now at the end of August.

Dishwasher 1: The on-off switch has failed 4 times! The first time was covered under warranty. The exact same problem kept occurring after the warranty expired. It was obviously defective from the beginning. After paying for the repair twice, Viking agreed to cover the part but I had to pay for labor again. Dishwasher 2: Leaked and needed a $350 repair in less than 4 years!I live in a major city and very few service companies service Viking. Appointments take weeks to schedule and parts are not stocked locally. Hence, I have waited up to 6 weeks for repairs by the time they come to diagnose the problem, order the parts and then come back to install. BTW, the Viking customer support people are friendly but are not able/authorized to do anything to accommodate on issues or expedite the process. I like my Viking gas cook top, double oven and microwave (have had Viking in 4 houses now), but I will NEVER buy anything Viking again.

I like my new refrigerator and the way it keeps everything cold in each area. There are no warm spots and it fits the space that we have perfectly. I wasnt gonna get a refrigerator with a rollout drawer on the bottom but it seemed to be made well so I opted to go with that instead of the side-by-side. People should do some research into what features each one has and then pick the one that fits overall what their needs are because one of the other reasons we didnt go with the side-by-side is because Viking makes them too tall. We couldnt have something that tall in our space. We only have 70 inches and a lot of those side-by-sides are 72-plus, and thats not gonna fit in the space. Wed have to take the cabinets out at the top and I dont wanna do that because I use those cabinets. So, it would be nice if Viking would make them a little smaller in a side-by-side too. I know two other people who are struggling with the same thing. They have this standard spot that contractors made in their house for the refrigerator, and theyre only about 70 inches tall. When you read the specs, a lot of those refrigerators want you to give them a 2-inch clearance at the top for air and we dont have that. Ours is smack way up to the top but we have air on each side. We havent had the refrigerator that long but Im anticipating that its gonna be a real worker.

I always wanted Viking appliances. I love to cook, so it is a brand that was instilled in me that is quality and a professional kitchen. Initially, I should have looked. I went to Best Buy to look at them, but I ordered these online, and I never really tested them out. I like certain things that I bought, but there were certain things I don’t like. I like the refrigerator because it’s large. But I’ve seen others that the inside interiors are better made, more stylish, and the placement of the shelves are a lot more intuitive than the Viking. The doors and the bins are fine. It’s just the placement of them is not as functional as we thought it would be. We like the soft-close doors but we didn’t expect it to be so small inside being a 48-inch. We thought it’d be a lot larger because we had other appliances like LG or Samsung, and those were standard-sized, and they seemed to have more space. I like the Viking because of the aesthetics. It’s a beautiful refrigerator. But in terms of functionality, it’s just plain-Jane. It’s a $10,000 fridge so I was expecting more. It’s a 48-inch refrigerator, and its freezer is tiny, unfortunately.
