Weve had Viking Ranges for years. My wife likes the look and the performance of these ranges. Our current range is night and day compared to the one that weve bought 10 years ago. The quality and the features have improved. We got an eight-topper, and it really accents a high end kitchen well for looks and performance. We had a little bit of an install issue with the dealer named Big Georges in Ann Arbor. One of the lights was not screwed in and I didn’t feel I got a good follow up from them. I called, went down there and asked for some help but they were kinda telling me that I am own my own. That pissed me off. I wasn’t happy with the dealer, but the warranty guy from High End Appliance here in Michigan made up for some of the lackings of the appliance dealer.

Weve had Viking for a long time in our family and the range fits with the design of our kitchen. We got it from a local dealer and they were easy to work with. However, the quality of the range has been a little bit surprising. For the price, Im surprised that weve had issues with the burners not working compared to other ranges weve owned from other manufacturers. We had someone out to fix our Viking dishwasher which had issues, and at the same time, they addressed the burner. Although after they addressed it, it was broken again so theyve been out again. So weve had bad experience.

The team at the Viking dealer was very helpful and knowledgeable as compared to the other dealers that I saw and I had a very pleasant experience. Aside from the Viking name, we purchased our range for the three-year warranty which was a really big thing. The sales people were very knowledgeable. The quality of the product is great and we are blown away by how much more power the Viking has compared to our previous gas stove. Were very satisfied.

Viking stove should be recalled. Since the first use, we have been having the same problems all of the other people have been having with the stove. It should be recalled because it is a danger to use. Our oven gets so hot that it has melted the stove wires and control box. It has warped our oven door so it doesnt shut all the way, and the heat reflector (not sure if this is correct name) in the bottom of the oven is cracked and buckled. The oven gets so hot that if you touch the outside of it, you will get burned. The oven also fills up with gas and makes a popping sound or just blows the door right open! It scares me with my children if the oven is on. They can get burnt or hurt with the door blowing open. Also, because of the intense heat and the wires melting, the left side of the stove doesnt work.

The rep from the Viking dealership was really helpful. He pulled out the range and showed us the gas line and how it was going to be installed. Viking is supposed to be a really good range as far as reputation, but mine doesnt work. I turn it on, it reaches temp, the fan comes on and then it stops lighting. It just slowly winds down and stops, so a repairman came out and hes going to replace the computer board on it. He seemed like he knew what he was talking about and I expect that everything is going to turn out just fine after he gets that repair done. But first, the board has to come in and then hell call me to reschedule, which should be within two weeks. The elevation burners are pretty cool and they have a constant slow simmer. Im still happy with the range because some things not working could happen sometimes. Im a little more mellow than some people and Im not angry about it. The range came with a two-year full warranty and so far, everything has been covered. Luckily this year, Im having Thanksgiving at my daughters house so I dont need the stove done before that day. Now, if I had family coming in, Id probably be sweating about now and ordering turkeys in from someplace. Im good and I can wait for the perfect oven.

Bought a brand newly built house with all new Viking appliances. The first week we owned the house, the doors on the appliance needed to be repaired. Then we had an electric short due to the range needing to be required. Approximately after 1 month of ownership, the defroster in the freezer died causing the refrigerator to shut down. We had to manually defrost the freezer every day for over a week before we had a functioning refrigerator. In August, 6 months after installation, the lights in the freezer stopped working. 3 months later, 4 service calls later, we were told the lights couldnt be repaired. Even heard the Viking tech tell the service guy on the phone there was nothing more he could do. Oh yeah, sometime between August and Nov, the ice maker died. So we have a very expensive attractive piece of garbage that isnt as good as our LG that was less than 1/3 the cost. We would like a refund in order to purchase a different appliance but do not expect that. A replacement is being requested.

Ive been cooking my whole life and my parents had a couple of Viking Ranges. I went with them as well because of the quality and a specific offering that they had that included a free dishwasher. The range is excellent. I like the simplicity, the quality, and the ability to rebuild, repair over time and the lack of any real computers and microprocessors. But I have never been more disgusted in the service that I received from a company, let alone one that Ive just given $5,000 to. I interacted with tech support a couple of times. The individual I was talking with was mumbling into the phone and acted like he was doing me a favor for helping me. He acted like my questions were completely ridiculous. When I talked to somebody at a call center in India for an appliance I bought at Home Depot, they treated me better than this. I had to tell him to put me on the phone with a different tech support person but they have no further help. I talked with people in the parts department who told me I was incorrect with regards to where the data tag was for where the serial number and model number were. It was an all-around garbage experience and they will never get another dime of my money.Ive since talked to other owners of Viking products as well as some technicians and they say that this is a common trend. I have written Viking and theyve not gotten back to me. Quite frankly, my next purchase will not be a Viking because Ive never encountered such pathetic treatment of a customer, especially one who thought they were buying a luxury brand which would come along with the support. Ive just convinced somebody not to buy a Viking as a result of this because that is unacceptable to me.

I do a lot of cooking so I was looking for something that was more durable
I do a lot of cooking so I was looking for something that was more durable than the normal retail types of range. My brother and sister have Viking Range for 15 years before they started having any issues with it. My sister does a lot of commercial type of cooking and baking which is a real testament to its durability. Its quality is good for the most part. However, I have a unit that has a griddle in the middle and we find that difficult to clean. When we use the griddle, theres a lot of splashing and the whole top gets soiled. Just because of that, I dont use it sometimes and Id go back to a frying pan. And if Im cooking something in a frying pan, it will then splash over onto the griddle. I have no type of covering for it so it gets soiled. Also, I was very dissatisfied with the installation and the actual purchase of it. When I initially bought the unit, we looked at some pictures and we picked the one that we want. However, they did not include the backsplash with the initial purchase. I didnt know that they were separate and that I got to pay an additional $350 for it. The item was back ordered so I had to do without it for six weeks. So, I was very disappointed with that experience after spending so much money on a high-end grill like that. That turned me off. Other than those, everything else is great. I definitely love it. The temperature and convection of the oven is really the biggest part of it as far as the reliability. It definitely cooks a lot different. Its something that I use a lot out of everything.

I chose a Wolf range and they had a part problem and couldnt get the range in in time. So, my second choice was Viking. The oven is great but the burners are hard to regulate and I don’t like them. I had somebody from one of Vikings vendors come in to look at it and make sure it was operating correctly, and it wasnt completely operating well. They fixed it. I still am not completely satisfied though. The deal was I wanted a different range to begin with, and somehow, this one arrived. I was moving into a new house, so I had to have a range to get a certificate of occupancy. So, I ended up keeping it. But my struggle with it is I can never get the burners to go low enough just to simmer. Im constantly playing with them and its irritating.

I’m in the food business and all of my big appliances in my stores are Viking. I heard about them from PC Richard, and the quality of their range is good. The microwaves blower, however, does not have enough power to it, so it brings the smoke out when you are cooking around the house. It does not have the exhaust. Its not that great. Nevertheless, the Viking range, even at home, cooks food better.

I have owned a Viking range oven, microwave and refrigerator for over two years. Although I did not purchase them I was very excited when we found out they would be included with the purchase of the house. Since then I have been less than impressed. The refrigerator constantly leaks from the bottom of the pullout freezer. I have taken it apart myself and had multiple repairmen look at it to no avail. It has ruined my wood floors and constantly has to have a towel placed under it to soak up water. My oven was working ok for longer however now the fan constantly runs. Regardless of what mode its in (including when its off.) This has made my kitchen a very noisy place. I have yet to take a part and diagnose this issue. Lastly my microwave constantly blows fuses. The clock is too hard to see on the small screen and when it does work it is very inconsistent. To add insult to injury, the cost of fixing any of these issues by certified Viking suppliers is absolutely outrageous! For the time being we are dealing with what we have until we can save money to replace each product in the kitchen. I am very disappointed and would not recommend this company to ANYONE! Buyer beware.

Viking Professional Microwave VMOC205WH - Purchased this $1000 microwave as a Christmas gift for my wife in 2010. It replaced a 20 year old microwave (that still worked). Will not pop popcorn to this day. My wife noticed a place in back that looked like rust a couple of years ago. It has progressively gotten worse. I finally contacted Viking and told them that their stainless steel (inside) was rusting. I was given a Viking service center to contact. It had started sparking inside at rust occasionally. The tech came out and said he was not going to charge service charge because it was obviously a manufacturer defect. Stainless steel is not supposed to rust. He took photographers and turned in report to Viking. I called Viking and they said they needed photographs, to which I replied, the tech has already sent them. Approximately two months later, I received a call from tech service center (not Viking) that Viking was waiting for receipt. I contacted the store that I purchased the microwave and after much searching, found invoice and forwarded it to tech center who sent it to Viking. Their response was it was out of warranty. I had a 20 year old $200 microwave that performed well, yet this top of the line Professional unit didnt make it two years and then would not stand behind their product. Getting ready to replace stove and refrigerator. Guess which brand that will not be considered? Very disappointed. The place where I purchased unit said that Vikings service was horrible. I can certainly testify.

I had a recommendation of Viking Ranges. I also love to cook and wanted a professional oven. The oven is a bit of learning curve in terms of induction cooking and convection cooking, so I’m kind of working on that. I understand it’s better technology but most people don’t want to learn anything new. The range does boiling within 60 seconds, and it’s a hard-boil. We did a complete kitchen remodel and I told my wife she could pretty much have what she wanted. We have the Viking everything like the dishwasher and microwave, except for the fridge. We have the Viking range too and its an awesome machine but it has some gremlins in it. Multiple times during the hours and the cooking process on a long day, the thing just shuts itself off.We called customer service and weve had a maintenance repair guy out. The problem is its duplicating the issue because its always into a lengthy process like youre cooking a roast for a turkey for hours and hours. Now we just kinda documented it best we can. We know the product comes with a two-year warranty so were kinda waiting to see if it gets any worse or what. My wifes frustrated because she should be able to deal with it, walk away from it and not worry about the thing turning itself off.

I was very familiar with The Viking Commercial Ranges and when I remodeled my kitchen I decided to go with the Viking and expected to get same quality product. I have owned it now for 3 years and been sorry about my decision ever since. The oven doesnt have a temperature display and you never know what the temperature is. The controls are mechanical and connected to a electronically controlled board that fails after short use. The oven does not retain temperature and takes extremely long time to heat up. The cooking time is much too complicated for normal use and even the clock and timer are no simple task. To top it all, it is price at double the price of a Kitchenaid or a GE that do a much better job. I would stay away from Viking, save some money the agony.

I saw that the refrigerator was much better because in the beginning, I was close to buying Sub-Zero. But because all of my appliances were Viking, I didnt want to make a mix. That’s why I bought my own refrigerator. But by the day I bought it, it started to have many problems. The engine turned off by itself. It worked once in a while.Viking fixed it three times. When they were fixing the last time, the tech broke the main doors arm so he couldn’t close the refrigerator. I got more upset about it. He then made the refrigerator open and said, “You have to turn it off, and you have to wait like three or four days for us to have the part for me to be able to fix it.” I said, “Are you gonna leave me without a refrigerator, without a freezer? I mean, it wasn’t my fault. I mean, you are fixing something new, and now, you are telling me I have to wait four days without a refrigerator because you broke the arm?” And the fourth time, they again wanted fix it. I bought something new. I dont want it to be fixed all the time. So, I brought it to the place that I bought it, they spoke to me and they changed the whole refrigerator.Hopefully, I will buy the same Viking set because all appliances on my kitchen are Viking. It came with the house. But the ones they have in the house are the worst ones that Viking has. The cooking appliance turns on by itself too. It has the same problem. Almost all the people who have the same system said all of it came like that. So, if I want something better, I have to change the model and get something more expensive or higher quality. Also, I want something bigger because the one that I have is really small.

We have had the appliance store where we purchased it come out numerous times and I am regularly told that I am being too rough with the door. Well, the door has never closed properly, and because it doesn’t close properly the oven turns off whenever I set the oven to a temperature above 400 degrees. We made a big city-to-city move and bought a new home in another city. A key feature of which was a custom high-end kitchen renovation of which these Viking appliances are a core feature and part of the financial value of the decision to purchase this home. Weve never had high-end appliances in our past because we couldnt afford them nor did we really think we needed them. The appliances were professionally installed as part of a kitchen renovation by the previous owners, purchased new, and they were less than four years old when we moved in. Its a Viking Professional, 48-inch wide range which is one of very few of that width, and a very high Viking Professional refrigerator. We moved in mid-2015 and were approaching two years in the home. Ive had six service calls and multiple, very expensive parts replacements in the Viking gas range and the oven has not worked since we moved in. Initially, it turned on but the front panel was overheating excessively to the point where you had to put oven mitts on to turn the knobs. It was that hot. Also, when we first moved in, we had trouble with the refrigerator initially and I hadnt really noticed because we were busy moving in and doing a lot of take-out. I also didnt notice the problem with the oven until a month or so in.Now that Im looking back on it, what happened is our local service partner - who is a Viking certified partner and is one of the top family-owned appliances repair companies in the entire city with a very good reputation - has told me repeatedly that there is no telephone number which their service partners can call. They have to email as the only way to communicate with the parts department but Im assuming that with Viking as a provider or manufacturer, they had a parts plant here in Canada. First the service guy said there are problems like the door wasnt fitting perfectly flushed and he thought because of the clients who had problems with the door hinges that if we replace those it might seal the unit better and therefore address the overheating issue because he wasnt getting any error codes at that time when he did a scan of the electronics inside the oven. He decided to do that and he also ordered a griddle and the main knob, which I knew was gonna be an expensive part. I figured it would be about $600, plus labor and it was. It had been chipped and sheared off by the previous owner when they installed the kitchen. They sheared it off with a piece of granite for the counter when they were doing the renovation so, I knew that was gonna be expensive, but that has nothing to do with the ongoing issue. We replaced the hinges and another small component. Those parts took six months to arrive. Every month, I was calling the local service partner and after the second or third month, because I didnt wanna push, I thought maybe theyre back ordered. It turned out that Vikings parts plant in Canada and the whole manufacturing facility plus customer service had moved to the United States across the border at the same time that our parts order went in. Not only that but by the time they identified that Viking had actually lost the order six months later, they claimed they never received it. The customer service call center had moved to a second US location like within a years time so, there were multiple communication operational issues on the Viking end.By the third time, I asked them to call Viking parts and escalate this because Ive been with no oven for two months and the first $1,000 repair didnt do anything. The lady insisted that there was no way to do that. They dont have a phone number like the technicians and if theyre on site and they need to talk to a Viking technical support personnel, they have a phone number they can call. But between the service partners and the parts department, its only by email. We waited six months and we identified the issue four months later. They sent another email and Viking finally replied and said they dont have any orders for those two parts. They replaced the order for both parts in month four and its like they should have those parts within a couple of weeks. But two weeks later, I hadnt heard from the local partner. So, I called them and learned that the second part is on back order and it wont be ready for six weeks. When those parts finally came, the technician was very good, knowledgeable and he has a lot of experience, which is rare out there with Viking. He replaced the parts, tested it and it seemed to be okay. The very next day, I was all excited so I bought a roast. Within about an hour to an hour and 15, I noticed the oven had shut off automatically and would not restart. At the same time, when the panel would overheat if you tried to use the top of the range to make potatoes and vegetable or if the oven had shut off and was overheated, the gas range atop would not ignite like a safety shut off feature so, I couldnt make a meal. Then, he came and replaced another major component and not only did it shut off but it started to not even ignite in the first place. You wouldnt hear the click before the gas engages and it would not start at all. So, I called the local service partner back and he said that they had built a cooling fan which wasnt part of the original design. But it seemed to resolve the overheating and the spark module most of the time in the repair environment. Sometimes, they cover it for some customers if they complained enough. So, I spent two weeks going back and forth with a very nice customer care warranty person because its out of warranty four or five years later, but its a newer appliance. These things are like $15,000 and thats like a car. Given how young it was when we bought it as part of the home and the cost of the thing, I wont do it. Even if I was a gazillionaire, just on principle, I wont do it nor can we afford to and nothing else will fit in that space either because its a custom kitchen designed around these appliances. I think there are only three 48-inch wide ranges that would fit into that space, gas ranges that are even available from any manufacturer. Finally, I had to fight because the previous owner hadnt registered it. She said she cant do anything for me because they dont recognize a registration for warranty purposes of the original purchase. I went to the package with all the receipts the previous owner left with us for all the renos and purchases and found the bills from where they purchased. I was on hold with the warranty department for more than 45 minutes and I work full time, after all of this for a year and a half. I called her back and I asked if there is a fast track that she could help me out with because I was on hold for 45 minutes and I had called before calling her. I called back a second to the number she gave to me in case I got disconnected and waited another half an hour and I was just getting frustrated. I figured out for myself on their website that I could do it online because I had the receipt and the serial number and the date and all the information required. So, I did it online myself and then called the customer service person back and told her that it was done. She said that now that its registered, shes going to ask their regional service manager for Canada who works with Canadian providers if they will, as an exception given what Ive been through, still cover the cooling unit to go with the spark module. I dont know how much the cooling thing would be but its probably another $500. Weve spent about $4,000 or $5,000 on these appliances in 17 months and theyre less than five years old. Thats parts and labor and the labor is like nothing compared to the cost of the parts. So, she said shes gonna ask for an exception under the circumstances.I waited and it was 10 days or two weeks later that I got a voicemail message from her letting me know that their service manager has declined to cover it back for me. Im usually a fairly reasonable, calm person, but I was like going up straight. I got really angry and I called her back and as calmly and politely as I could, I told her I dont think shes being reasonable. Not her personally but the process and the disconnected communication. I would like for their regional sales manager to please talk to my local technician from their service partner directly so they can understand the history. Then, he might make a more favorable decision. Eventually, the technician had to send a big detailed ticket of the most recent part replacement that he did, his idea of the diagnostics and circumstances and what his recommendation was. They talked on the phone together and it was approved right away.My impression right now of Viking as a manufacturer and the post-sale service is not positive. Ive worked in the network telecom business most of my career. Customer market facing and I know a lot about manufacturing, about different types of business operations and customer service but Ive never seen something this bad in my entire life. Until I see it given, what Ive experienced so far, I have no confidence that this repair part replacement will address the issue. Id really like them to ship me a brand new replacement oven, in working order, and install it for me cause at this point, I think we have a lemon. I feel its a defective unit and it should probably be replaced.I dont want what happened to us to happen to other people. I had seen the negative reviews because of the problems that we were having from the beginning and if we had known this, we might not have even purchased this house. I would recommend pretty much any other brand. Thats a lesson Ive learned from this manufacturer.

We bought a house that needed to be updated and remodeled. We decided that the one thing we would splurge on was kitchen appliances. We purchased a range, hood, and dishwasher from Viking. From the moment we began the install, we were disappointed at every turn. For starters, the company sent the wrong metal bracket that attaches to the underside of the hood where the exhaust pipe attaches. It took them THREE MONTHS and three tries to send the right piece! The woman who answered the phone at Viking was useless and it took my husband days to of calling to get someone who could answer questions on the other end of the phone. When they sent the first replacement piece, we called the installer and had to pay him even though he couldnt finish the install because it was the wrong piece. When the right part finally arrived we had to take the hood down and start all over again. The customer support? As far as Im concerned it was nearly nonexistent. The oven itself doesnt seem to be regulated properly. On a 350 degree setting, baked goods bake too fast or burn. Im 62 and Ive baked all my life. Its not me, its the oven. And trying to slowly simmer on the stove-top? FORGET IT! Everything boils away. The dishwasher is another story. It was part of a package deal and now I know why they were practically giving it away. I have two college degrees and I cant make this thing operate properly. No matter what I press when I open it after a cycle everything is wet. The other night my husband started the cycle before we went to bed. When I woke up in the morning it was STILL RUNNING. I am so disillusioned with the products but even more so with the VIKING Company itself. I would never recommend this company to anyone. AT these prices one would expect consumer service to be stellar. Instead I felt as if they resented our calls. SHAME ON YOU VIKING. I was so happy when the appliances arrived. Now Im thinking of selling them.

I liked Vikings double oven, and I read some reviews that Viking seemed better than the Wolf Range. I purchased mine online and I was really happy with their website. It was easy navigating and the information was plain and easy to get to. I owned mine for a couple of months and so far, it’s a pretty nice unit.

30 Double French Door Oven - I must say that I am extremely pleased with this product! Being a Chef, I am very particular on whats in my home kitchen, seeing that my wife and I like to entertain (as my time permits). This oven has exceeded my expectations. Not on just looks, but performance. It heats very quickly, cooks/bakes very well, and the temperature probe is accurate. Its a real eye-catcher when someone walks into my kitchen.

Wife and I bought a house with a beautiful kitchen. We saw the Viking professional line in the house and it seemed like a blessing... until we moved in and the nightmares began. Two months into our living there, the dishwasher and refrigerator, both 2006 models have already broken several times. Little things are broken all over the inside of the fridge. The freezer does not seem to defrost and Ive manually had to chop out ice from the pan inside, which is nearly impossible. Dishwasher cannot get dishes clean at all, leaves a deposit. Weve been using citric acid and scrubbing inside of washer by hand... no effect. We know an appliance repairman and he has a policy of not touching VIKING at all costs. Our nearest repairman who says they will fix is miles and miles away, and gives a no guarantee disclaimer on all things related to Viking. Another guys asked us for an up front retainer and our credit card before hed even start and when we said no (seemed shifty) he said good luck because nobody wants to touch them. My parents had a GE refrigerator for 40 years. Our last fridge was Maytag and was 1/8 the price, no probs. Had a $200 GE dishwasher in old house that did a better job and no breakdowns for 10 years. Stay away from Viking.

Viking is a brand name thats been known for quite some time. We did a fair amount of research and, in my personal opinion, Viking is overpriced fairly significantly. But beyond that, the simplicity of it was important and there arent a lot of electronics involved although one major flaw is having no timer. Our Viking range is not very big but its certainly well-made, well-constructed and very durable. My wife does a lot of baking and she is getting used to the stove. There were some spills on it and we tried to clean them up. We got the manual out and read it. It said to put a wet towel down for a period of time, but that doesnt work at all. It said not to scrub it with abrasive scrubbers and so were trying to figure out how to keep it spotless as we can. I paid to have the range installed and had it all prepared for the installers. I had cut the countertop, vacuumed everything out, and removed the old stove so they had a pretty easy job. One thing I dont understand is Vikings concept of forcing people to buy a stove with a washer. We wanted a stove and we didnt need or want a dishwasher, but that was part of the deal. It was a deal-breaker for me, but my wife was pretty much convinced thats the stove that she wanted. It doesnt make any sense to force somebody to get a washer and I would have rather taken the cost of the dishwasher off the stove and felt much better about that.

Were contractors who do high-end kitchen and bathroom remodeling and we used Viking on projects. We were going to get a Thermador for the price difference, but the Viking rep thought it would be beneficial to their company to give us a heck of a deal on their product to put the Viking in. In the end, it came in the same price as the Thermador. Plus the Viking dealer was perfect and the rep was super, so we went with them. But there were a couple of drawbacks. Viking used these drill bit screws that stripped if you tighten them too much. So the door has a couple of stripped screws and it rattles too, so I replaced them with larger sheet metal screws. So one of the people in the assembly line overtightened and its stupid. Its nothing I cant fix, but for its value, I shouldnt have to. Viking is made in Mississippi and its very important to me its made in the US. But Im shocked that Viking uses a Broan motor. The motor in ours was brand new but it lasted only 10 minutes and Im still waiting for the replacement. If I had known Viking had a Broan motor, I wouldnt have bought it. The quality of Viking over Thermador is really nice but Broan motors are garbage. Also, the only thing weve used is the burners, but were still waiting for the guy to adjust them. My wife likes the little window in the range, though.Viking looks beautiful and I know the issue with the parts is going to get taken care of but its been a long time. I called the dealer and I asked where the parts were at. He told me it was kind of difficult. If I was Viking, Id get the customer a new motor and ask him not to slam us. In our line of work, we deal with all these high end people and Thermador knocks the teeth out of Viking for sales.

I had a Viking Refrigerator in my last house and I liked it. it’s great! The only thing is at my old house, the drain at the bottom plugged real easy but you can’t really move it in and out because it’s built in, so that was a little bit of a drawback. It’s expensive to get that repaired when it plugs so I finally learned how to do it myself. I put towels all over the place but it freezes up. I got a good deal on floor model for my new house. I got the whole suite of products. Its one of the nicest fridges Ive ever had and Im really happy with it.

I like the way Viking operates and I especially like the look of the Viking professional stove. Ive had Viking before so I got them again when I moved into a new home and I went to replace the appliances. The quality has been good. But I moved into a condo in Florida and they don’t allow gas so I got the induction. It’s different for me because it’s an induction and before I’ve always had gas. The rep was helpful the first time I went in and helped me select the product. But when I had some questions and went back, it was like they didn’t have time for us. They did it twice. She was doing something else and she was dealing with some other customers. I got the Viking professional range and I thought I was getting the Viking professional microwave. I didn’t realize until after they had installed it in that it was Viking and not the Viking professional. There was nothing I can do about it but I was disappointed in that because I was trying to get matching appliances. But overall, I’ve been very pleased with Viking.

Viking Refrigerator is a higher end product. It’s a good appliance. There was a slight beneficial discount for the Viking at the time we purchased it even though it was more money than some other appliances. I haven’t had a problem with it other than a drawer breaking, and they sent us a replacement. I called Viking and they said to make sure the appliances are registered. So, they registered, and once they were registered, they were gonna send somebody out. I couldn’t believe they were gonna do that. When they realized it was just a drawer, they just sent the drawer. The process was easy. I like all the features of the refrigerator. One feature is kinda interesting. They made it so you can put a full-sized pizza on the bottom of it, which is pretty cool because you always have a problem with the box of the pizza. Also, the dealer, Pacific Appliances at Best Buy was great.

We moved into a brand new home about four weeks ago and I think I was most excited about the Viking range. Wed worked really hard for this house and Id always viewed Viking as top drawer. What a disappointment its been. Since the day we moved in, it hasnt worked and multiple visits by Viking repair people still havent helped. Were about a hot minute from replacing it. The salesperson at our Best Buy who weve come to trust tells us that Thermador is a much better buy. So the morale to the story is buyer beware: go with quality even when it might not have the name quotient.

Before we purchased a range from Viking Ranges, my husband knew about the product and liked it. It was due to the companys name and because we liked the look of their product, that we went with them. We got the fridge, the oven, and the range. The range that we got is good. We havent had any issues yet with it. Weve just started using it about a month ago because we have just moved into the house which was previously under construction. For the last month, the range has been working fine. However, I surely wont ever buy a Viking product again because Ive tried to get through to Customer Service to tell them that I have a problem with my fridge, was on the phone for 40 minutes, and spoke to five different people, but I never got anywhere. So, Im not happy with Viking. Moreover, nobody in the area where we live in Toledo, Ohio, which is not a small city, will service and fix Viking products because of the experience that theyve had with the company. So, I have to go an hour away to get somebody to come in.

After 20 years in our home, we finally were able to build my dream kitchen with Viking Professional appliances. Weve had multiple problems with the oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Both sides of the oven have broken and the igniters break from time-to-time, too. The repairman told me I wasnt turning it on properly. What? After calling him back several times, Viking finally agreed to replace it. The repairman tells me not to get the igniters wet. Ok, I got it. I dont do it. Its not me! The ice maker in the freezer is horrible. The water line freezes all the time. Weve replaced the ice maker, added something to the unit to keep the water circulating, and not the water overfills. What a freaking mess it makes. The dishwasher is the worst ever made. It may or may not turn off. The repairman says to open it and let it dry out. Ok, but that doesnt work either. I wont even use it anymore. Viking Professional is terrible and has ruined my dream kitchen. :(

In the last month (September 2018), I have had three door containers fall off the door and shatter on the floor when I opened the refrigerator. All three door containers broke about one week apart. In addition, my cold storage drawer handle broke (plastic). What is going on with these components? Has anyone else experienced failure. This refrigerator was purchased in 2012, along with five other stainless Viking appliances. No problems with them. Viking says there is no recall and my warranty has expired. I would Viking to step up to the plate and assist. These are solid pieces that have appeared to fracture after six years of use. I would expect other things to malfunction but not solid plastic pieces.

I could kick myself for not reading these reviews before buying Viking!!! Built a new home with all Viking appliances. Serious quality problems on everything except the range....so far. They are not a refrigerator company or a dishwasher company. I am as far to say they cheap quality! We absolutely wish we could go back to our GE or Maytag kitchens. In 2 new house with GE and Maytag and 15 years we did not even have 1 service call. Viking in 1 year of our 3rd new house 3 problems with ref. and just a bad dishwasher (never dries). I am in the midst of a kitchen remodel. When searching for a range, Viking was definitely the brand at the top of my list. We were in Best Buy one afternoon for something unrelated. I went over to the range section of the store to browse, not knowing that Best Buy even carried Viking. As I walked through the aisles I noticed a white Viking Range. It was beautiful and fit my kitchen design perfectly. When we asked about the range, we were told it was returned by the customer, it didnt fit their design. So we purchased it immediately out of box. Last week, my contractors brought it into our home and installed it. Right away, we realized it was not working properly. We were told when we bought it, there was a two year warranty. I made a call to customer support. They patched me through to a technician who thought the issue was air in the gas line. We ran the range several times, following his instructions, and it still did not work. I called back to customer support and was told I had to register first and that takes 24 hours. I registered the range and called back the next day. I was then told the product was registered to someone else. The rep said he had to do some investigation and called me back. Turns out my warranty is expired because the customer who returned the range registered it and this had occurred two years prior. That was their final answer and they did nothing to rectify my issue. So, now I sit here with a Viking range that does not work in my brand new kitchen. While we are pursuing Best Buy to resolve our issue, I feel that the help I receive with my issue was unacceptable, given the price and reputation of the product. I will never look at another Viking product.Updated on 07/05/2018: We bought an “out of box” Viking range from Best Buy. We were told there was a 2 yr warranty - that was Best Buy’s error. When installed, the range did not work. After calling Viking Customer Service 4 times, I gave up. No one called me back. I called a Viking certified repair place and paid to have them come out. It was going to cost $1700 to fix my NEW range. AND, the technician recommended I return it as it looked like it had been taken apart. I did as he recommended and bought a different brand. I will NEVER buy Viking again.

I purchased a home that was 1 year old with Viking fridge/freezer and Viking oven in 2005. We had problems with the defrost cycle of the freezer section, within a year of moving in. Ice would freeze up on the back of the freezer then defrost. I called an authorized Viking service to come and fix the problem. He came, used my hair blow dryer to melt the ice, made some adjustment and left. It happened again and again. The melting ice ruined my wood floor and I had to pay to get it replaced. Then a year later, the door started to hang crookedly. I decided to purchase a new Viking fridge/freeze, same type but newer for about $10,000. I also bought the extended warranty on it. Within 6 months, the first drawer cracked. I called the dealer and they told me my extended warranty would not cover broken drawers or shelves because that is considered wear and tear. I was completely annoyed. I tried to fix the drawer by crazy gluing it together. I also have red sticky tape wrapped around it to hold it together. I had to do the same with the cracked door shelf. Now 3 years later, I have three broken shelve doors and the broken drawer, all taped with red tape. It is absolutely disgusting the shabby quality of product that Viking builds. The oven that came with the house, the door became crooked too and doesnt close all the way. I had an authorized service come and see what could be done. Nothing! They no longer sell the hinge replacement part. I had the same problem with the printing on the oven panel too. It has worn off and I had to write the temperatures and the baking programs with a black magic marker! I also called them to find out what I could do about that and they said I would have to buy a new front panel! I am 56 years old and have had many fridges and ovens in my life. I have never had any problems with any of them. Most of them were about $1,500.00-$3000.00. I will never buy a Viking product and when I am in an appliance store, I try to stand by the Viking section for as long as I can and tell anyone considering buying a Viking to not do it! I tell them to read the reviews about Viking products first. I decided to add my review so that if I can save one person from wasting their money, I will then be a satisfied Viking customer!

Me and my wife decided to get a Viking Range because of the build quality and simplicity. We like it better based on appearance and what our relatives told us of their experiences. However I had a bad experience with the dealer. They told me at that time I purchased that if Im not ready to put a delivery, I can have this range later. Several months later when I was ready, my dealer all of a sudden told me that they cannot deliver Viking anymore. There was some sort of disagreement and they couldnt sell Viking anymore because Viking specifically prohibited this dealer from selling their brand. I actually lost money because Viking raised the price by that time and the dealer referred me to a different dealer and promised that they will give the same price. But the new dealer couldnt provide the same price. The second dealer sold me a Viking and gave me a free warranty. Im not sure if I needed it but at least something as a compensation for a little loss. They delivered a new range. A few days after the delivery when I installed the range, I noticed when turning the handles it caused some sort of noise or feeling that something fishy is going on. So I called and they sent a repairman. The repairman took the handle off, adjusted something around it and after that it became better. The repairman also noticed that one of the screws was not original and it was quite surprising. Either Viking quality control is not correct or someone else changed the screw. I dont know how it would happen. But I rate it as minor inconveniences.

My wife likes cooking so we wanted to buy a professional-level range. We got one from Viking Range and it has an oven and convection and it heated up very fast to the temperature that I set up when broiling. But when I tried to do baking and set up the temperature to 300 it never heated up to 300. I thought there were some ignition issues so I tried for a couple of times and sometimes it worked but sometimes it didn’t. I planned on trying more times to see exactly what the issues were. I also called them before to tell them what the issues were and they said they couldn’t help unless I register my product so I did. And when I called them back I waited for around five minutes but they were busy and I couldn’t get an answer so I just hung up and stopped trying. The call didn’t go to voicemail as well but they were nice during the conversation with them. Overall, it was good. My wife cooks all the time using it and I notice that the power is really strong. We have six burners and the heat is very consistent and in general I like it a lot.

I know about kitchen brands since we have a restaurant, and though Wolf is my favorite, I went with a Viking range for its size. I like the Wolf way better. I like the way the Wolf looks more commercial. Vikings a little modern for my liking but I enjoy that it fits in our tiny condo and its a commercial range. However, it was installed crooked and its still crooked. It slopes, so the trays slide out when Im cooking. Its dangerous when Im cooking greasy items. I dont know if the guy that installed it is also the reason why it doesnt ignite properly or if its a Viking problem, but it explodes when I try to light it. I havent been able to use it for quite some time and Ive tried to get the guy out to fix it. Ive reached out to them a couple of times but he is a no-show and a no-callback. On the other hand, I called Wolf for my Sub-Zero at the same time I called Viking, and the Wolf guys were on it.

We had a custom kitchen built in Texas that I’ve had Viking products. Of the high-end brands, they were the least expensive and they were very reliable. But the quality of their refrigerator is not great at all. I would’ve been better off going to Home Depot. We’re on our third fridge from Viking. The first fridge we bought, we were told that it was a floor model, brand new, so we bought that one. It was shipped to us and we installed it. Three months later it broke. I called the Viking service tech. There is only one service tech in the Colorado area, so it took a while for him to get to me. He opened up the back of the fridge and said that it is a used fridge and it’s not under warranty. He looked up the serial number and he found out that that fridge was actually already warrantied by Viking and it was supposed to be destroyed. Then Viking West Coast and Viking East Coast, the two corporate offices got into a pissing match on who was responsible for it. So we were caught in the middle of food that wasn’t cold… while they tried to figure out who was gonna warranty it because Viking West Coast said it’s already been warrantied and its not their problem because we bought it from an East Coast dealer. It eventually got up to one of the VPs at Viking corporate and they said Viking East Coast will take care of it. They sent me a replacement refrigerator that the shipper dropped off the back of the truck. And then we rejected that fridge. Then they told us, “I’m sorry but that was the last fridge in North America.” The next fridge was on a set of containers coming over from China. And that’s when I found out that Frigidaire made their fridge. I told them I’m not paying an extra thousand dollars for a Frigidaire then. We eventually got one that was supposed to be going to one of their preferred dealers to market. It was a new fridge - a new model, because they weren’t making the old model anymore. And it’s been working ever since.

I am having an issue with my Viking refrigerator. Its my second unit and sometimes it makes a weird, whirring noise like the ice makers about to go. But when I turn the unit on and I turn it off, turn it off and turn it on again, the noise stops. Then, a guy came to look at the unit and it wasnt making weird noises. It has made it once since then and I just turn it off and I turn it back on and it runs again. Also, my unit alerted me that it needs a new air filter but I cant find where it is in the unit! Its also tough to get water filters. I prefer Sub-Zero but theyre like monsters and you have to have a different house for them. I love Vikings refrigerators. I like how they look, the clean lines, the straight edges, and their sturdiness. I also like the fact that they dont have water on the outside and that you have the option for water on the inside if you wanted. Its awesome.

I had a Viking range in my older home. So when I was remodeling the house over a year ago, the designer who was helping me with the kitchen picked it, and it was installed over the summer because renovation takes a long time. Then I moved in November of this past year. I used it during Thanksgiving and it worked briefly for a second, but then it broke. Every Viking product that Ive purchased is broken - the range hood, the refrigerator, and the range. I have a very busy life, so by the time I get around to calling for anything and figuring out where I need to call and what I need to do, and get everything registered, and realizing what is all wrong, it takes me a while. I have a job, so every time I try to call and stay on hold, I cant call in, because your business hours are my business hours. So Im not happy and I would never buy one again.

Everythings working fine with our Viking range. However, we need a replacement part and it seems to have taken quite some time to get that part. There was a problem with the door, in the door handle. It happened in January when it was discovered, and we still havent had it resolved and the COVID-19 pandemic hasnt helped. But Ive enjoyed cooking on the top and we also have a double oven as well. It all seems to be working well.

We purchased an expensive free standing gas range, model VGCC530-4BSS, because we were tired of having to fix our old electric range. From day one the front knobs got hot when the oven was on for a long period of time. We never really thought too much of it until just recently when the oven would quit working after being on for a while, for example, when cooking a turkey etc. Through my own investigation, along with limited help from Viking I figured out that the oven door doesnt seal at the top. There isnt an adjustment to rectify this problem. Viking suggested new hinges, at the bargain price of $120 each, which I fail to see making any difference as this has been an issue from day one. Not to mention I removed the door, inspected the hinges and could not find anything wrong with them. I strongly feel that the only solution to this problem is to buy a new stove, one that doesnt have the Viking label on the front. This will be our first and last Viking product EVER!

I had a friend that had a Viking range. It was reliable and I also like the way it looks. The Viking range was good, once I got it fixed. My favorite feature would be how quickly I can cook a meal, the burners get hot and the oven stays relatively warm. The feature that I do not like is on the oven, how the temperature resets. If it gets up to 400 degrees, and you’re baking a cake, and then, it stops. Once it reaches 400 degrees, a fan comes on, it’s like I have to cook the cake a little bit longer. I dealt with my home warranty company. I think it was the igniter switch but it took of months to get the part ordered. But that was the only bad part.

Viking is a pretty well-known brand as compared to some other available in the market. I was looking around and I felt that Viking is a good choice. The fridges design, the outside appearance and inside, everything looks good. It fit my purpose. Its not too big and not too small. If I want to save something inside, I can fit a space there well. I also like my freezer in the bottom. Im moving to a new home in North Carolina so I purchased a new one there, and compared to my old one, that ones design has more flexibility. Its good, interior-wise. The one I have here was done by another company and their design is a bit crowded.

My Viking refrigerator is good. The only thing is its such a humungous refrigerator but its so tiny inside. Its only like 19 cubic feet, and I just disregarded that whenever I was picking it out. Ive worked with AJ Madisons, which is who I ordered the refrigerator through, and that was a terrible experience. My product came so late. It was promised to me like months before I got it. When I ordered it, I had AJ Madison call the manufacturer and find out when to expect it by. I was promised that it would only take three months, and it took six months to get it once I paid for it.

We have owned many Viking appliances over the years. Our most recent purchases have been a $5,000.00 freestanding gas range (VGSC530-4B) with 2 safety recall problems. Very inconvenient and required 2 days of my time to coordinate service people and repairs. Second, an undercounter microwave oven (VMOD240) which cost $1,300.00 and has a cheap plastic keypad. The finish started wearing off of the numbers within 18 months of normal use (by 2 people). Now it looks unsightly and dirty even though it is clean. I just ordered a replacement keypad part which cost $90... ridiculous for a strip of plastic. A microwave this expensive should be of higher quality and last longer. Also, over the phone, Viking customer service representatives can be snooty and surly. Hello... I am a C U S T O M E R... who has spent a significant amount of money on your products. Maybe you should be nice!! I will consider purchasing appliances from another manufacturer for my next project.

Viking had a sale going on. The refrigerator I was looking at was discounted and with the rebate I was getting, that put it in a price range that was comparable to Sub-Zero. Plus, the store was saying that they have had good success with the refrigerator and that people liked it. I decided to take a chance on their technology. So far, food doesnt go bad in it and I love it. The refrigerator has technology that pulls out the gas that makes food go bad. Before, I would wind up throwing so much food out because it goes bad by the time I get around to cooking. Now, I make less stops at the grocery store. Additionally, water that that comes from my Viking tastes really good. Its much better than the GE Monogram that I used to have. However, the ice maker has a little wire bar that comes down when the ice tray fills up. Its supposed to set off but then it goes a little overboard such that I find ice outside the ice tray. Still, this was the only thing that was wrong. This is the second Viking that I have had and I have been very pleased with the service. With the first one I had, there was moisture building up on the inside. Everything was getting wet inside that refrigerator and almost every day I had to wipe it down. I complained and Viking sent servicemen out a couple of times. They couldnt figure out why the door wasnt sealing properly. They told me that they couldnt figure out the issue and that they would just get me a new refrigerator. I didnt have to pressure them so much and they gave me a new unit that works. So far, it works fine and its beautiful. I like the way its saving me money through not wasting food. Ive already recommended Viking to other people. I let people who have stayed at my place see it and I tell them about the refrigerators technology. They have been saying its a beautiful refrigerator.

Aside from the Viking name, the ranges value would add to our property in the kitchen. So far, I’ve been very satisfied with their product. It’s basic, not over the top and gimmicky like some of the other ovens have. It’s a good looking piece of equipment that works really well so far. I called the customer support when I had issues with it. They’re professional. They gave me a number for their local dealer out here and I called them up. Viking themselves have done a really good job and then the contractor is satisfactory as far as my dealings with them. I got two burners that don’t work and I’m still waiting for them to come back. Someone already came out to see what the issues were, ordered some parts and they’re coming next week. These two burners haven’t been working for about two months now. But it’s sure it’s going to get fixed this week. So far I’ve been happy with everything that works on it because other than the two burners it works great. The even heating in the oven is the one I’m most happy with. The quality is exactly what I expected.

I was looking for refrigeration, and I was doing renovations. I went online. I had wanted to upgrade from what I currently had, which was the JennAir Professional Series. I wanted something on the Wolf or Viking line. I did not go with Wolf because I could not afford the Sub-Zero Refrigerator. So, I decided to go with Viking. I looked at the reviews. I had ordered it from an appliance shop. Then I went to Ferguson Showroom to see what it looked like because the appliance shop didnt have a display. I knew it was looking like what I wanted it to look like. When I went to Ferguson, they didnt have any Viking on their floor. The salesperson said, “You know what, Latrina, I wish you would have came to us first because our customers had so many problems with Viking. We had to take it off our floor as display items.” I said, “Well, frankly, I wont have these problems.” So, I got the product. But I couldnt have the contractors in because of COVID, so I had the products here for a while. So, they installed them, and now its about the eighth month. My microwave already went out. The refrigerator handles are not so nice. The guy who came and fixed the microwave also had to tighten up the handles. At the top of the refrigerator shelf, you can set it to different levels. At the very top, it’s freezing my food. I cant set it to go any lower than the level that it’s at. Viking needs to revamp.

Our Viking fridge/freezer came with the house as new 10 yrs ago. Weve already had an issue with the ice machine but wrote that off to a clumsy appliance repair man. About a month ago we noticed the high temp alarm go off and the appliance stopped cooling. We called out Viking approved technician and he diagnosed the control boards, which I paid 1k to have replaced. Three days later, the alarm goes off again and everything starts to defrost. The technician is unsure what the problem is but suspects a sealed system issue (another 1k). I am fuming about, what is a highly priced fridge freezer needing all this work at only 10 years old.

I remodeled my house in 2009 and changed all my appliances to Viking Professional appliances. I was under the assumption that this is the best product available and moreover it is made in USA!!!! I came to find out this is the biggest and worst scam to rub people of their money with nothing but a heavy chunks of metal. I have had problem with my gas cook-top where I had it repaired 4 times. It kept clicking and the technician said the board was bad. Changing the board resolved it for a day and then he said the ignition parts are bad so he changed them. This started again so another company came and fixed it somehow and said the wiring was bad. After all this the cups around the burners changed color. Refrigerator does not dispense water and leaks in freezer and freezes all the time making it impossible to dispense ice and only way to get ice is to carve it because it is clumped together. Microwave oven does not heat as much as $150 microwave and has been corroding inside. Oven stopped working during Christmas time and took 6 months for them to figure out what was wrong with me being on the phone for hours with Viking executive offices. Vent unit has four settings which one has never worked. Viking does not take any responsibility for any of the problems you get. Standing behind their products is a news to them. I think their policy is sell, run and hide. I do have a Whirlpool Refrigerator that has spend most its life of 21 years in the garage with harsh temperatures but is still running like the first day. I would not buy and would discourage anyone that I care about to stay away from these products. I bought these items from Number 1 Appliance and they said these come with 10 years of warranty but each time I called the warranty company they told me that problem is not covered. I think they just warrant the heaviness of the product not its functionality.

We are told no mother boards out there to replace with - back ordered. I have Viking in other homes, and this time, they were running a rebate which was a considerable amount of money. Also, Viking was acquired by another company and word on the street was their quality issues had been fixed. I also looked at Wolf and Thermador and read horrendous reviews about them, but they’re great products too. Ultimately the price point made the big difference for me and I bought a range from Viking. The qualitys pretty good. Upon unboxing and installation, there were two burners that were inoperable so that was not a good start. I then got a service call in and haven’t heard anything from them and it’s been two weeks. But I have been able to use it. I like the rapid heat oven which is very nice. I also like the true convection oven portion of it. It has three different convection modes, but the true conduct is very nice. And the overall appearance was very sharp. The dealer was good too. I did most of my research online and I have a rep that I used. I simply called him and said, “Order it.” Its a great product, well-made craftsmanship, and a value in the realm of high end, other than the burners. On 1/6/2005, I purchased a Viking 36 inch free standing range model VDSC3656BSS dual fuel, 6 gas burners open face, and a single electric convection oven costing approximately $7,000. This oven had no frills, no electronic digital displays, just a good basic heavy duty range. This was a major investment in a kitchen appliance for our 7th new home. My husband was very resistant to making that type of investment, but I stated it’s a “Viking” and very dependable. The 6 gas burners were great (and still function) and the electric oven (although was running cooler than other cheaper oven and had to increase the temperature settings by 25 degrees to achieve correct temperature) functioned. That was up until 3/8/13 when the electric oven failed; the heating elements will not get hot.The oven on light turns on, the interior light turns on and the electric convection fans work but no heat to both (top and bottom) oven elements. On 3/11/13, a repairman was out and identified the defective part, the oven control (not the thermostat or the elements). The power is getting to the control but not passing through. The part was ordered the same day. There have been several follow up calls with the parts distributor. As of 4/9/13, there is still no replacement part. Both the repairman (a certified Viking repairman who has worked on Viking ranges for over 10 years) and I have been searching the internet and warehouses for this part.I emailed Viking, no response to the emails. I called Viking customer support and related the repair issues specifically noting the lack of (availability of) a replacement part and asked if there is a problem with this range. Viking stated that there is no recall or safety notices for this range and provided a name and phone number of a parts distributor. I forwarded this information to my repairman; however to date, 4/9/13, no replacement part. From internet blogs, this particular model with an electric oven (no heat to elements) is a common repair problem resulting in down time anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months. Imagine a restaurant with a Viking range that is out of use for 6 weeks to 6 months! I am an individual who loves to cook and bake; Viking is breaking my heart! Okay, so the range is out for a month, I shouldnt complain compared to others out 6 months. However, an extended outage of any duration is not acceptable for professional ranges. A cheap range can be fixed generally the same week it is serviced, arent expensive ranges deserving of something much faster than 1-6 months? So what do I do with a $7,000 paper weight? I find it extremely difficult to recommend a “Viking” range. As of my posting today, the Consumer Affairs website has 266 complaints about Viking, numerous ones similar to mine. Is anyone considering a class action suit on this particular model for this particular repair problem? Maybe that would get some attention! In any event, the oven is down and out for the count. Next stop might be the scrap metal dealer! Viking what happened to you?

At first, when my Viking range was installed, the installers pushed it too
At first, when my Viking range was installed, the installers pushed it too far back and the cord broke when it got pinched between the gas line and the stove. When I was ready to clean it, the main big oven never shut off. Its like it never got to the heating temperature and it just heated well exceedingly. So it burns up the igniter and some other part because the oven got too hot. I couldnt even touch the stainless steel on top of the stove. Id washed the whole thing like I was supposed to and then Im supposed to run the oven at 450 degrees for an hour to an hour and a half to burn everything out. And I found out that it got so hot and it would work until it melted everything. The Monarch people came and replaced the cord but it still didnt work. So the Viking rep came out, replaced the cord with a Viking approved one and replaced some other parts but it still didnt work. Two weeks ago, he came back out again, replaced some more parts and then ignited it. It didnt work, it didnt shut the heat down and then he started looking at the wiring and he found that the wire that was connected to the knobs was connected to the wire to the griddle and vice versa. So when we turn the oven on, it thought it was heating the griddle but was never getting heated so thats why the oven never shut off. He fixed those two wires that were crossed and then the oven started working again. But that night, we were starting the oven and then the igniter kept shutting itself off. It would try and ignite after five times and then it just quit. So, were still trying to get it fixed and he scheduled to come back again to look at that. This has been going on since the Viking range was delivered to our house. I am nearing two months that weve had the stove and its still not working properly. It seems that even have they not pinched the cord, because of the wiring issues which we didnt know about, the oven would have still done the same thing. It just happened to be something that happened that we thought might have caused the problem while in retrospect, it didnt. When we bought it, it was a floor model and we knew that. However, we did not know at the time, we didnt ask and they didnt disclose, that it was seven years old so, there was no warranty on it. Ive got all the emails from them that states everything theyre saying they asked their Viking reps and Viking is not really standing behind the product because it was a seven-year-old floor model. That would make a big difference in our decision to purchasing. When we bought this stove, we were offered at the time an extended warranty for five years for $400. We thought that its a Viking stove and were paying $8,000 for it. It should have the factory warranty so we chose not to buy the additional warranty. But then, when we started having problems with it right away from day one, I wanted to buy the additional warranty. I asked if it is too late to do it because we were not told that this Viking stove is seven years old and we wanted to protect ourselves. And I found out that they should never have offered us the extended warranty because the stove was over five years old, that it was their mistake to offer us that warranty and that we cannot get any Viking warranty because of the age of the stove. It sounds ridiculous to me because its still a brand new stove. But they have been paying for all the repairs because I went online and I registered the Viking product. They gave me a 90-day warranty for doing that. Im trying to get everything done within this 90 day because after that and if we have issues, I dont know what were gonna do. Im sure that the repair person is in contact with Viking because thats how hes getting paid. So now, my husband and I feel that when it was put together, the manufacturer miss-wired it.Also, I strongly feel that especially because there was manufacturer problem in the range and because it sat for seven years, it would have been a problem they would have had with ranges sold seven years ago. So, personally, I feel like we should have more warranty because I dont know that were gonna have everything that could happen, happen in 90 days. But I told them that Im not paying a dime to repair the stove and if it cant get fixed, then they can take it back and I want my money back.My experience has not been great. I feel like Viking is dropping the ball with standing behind their product as the manufacturer. But I dont know if they know that the wiring issues were their fault. Whoever put the stove together made a mistake. Between the stove and the hood, weve spent $10,000 so were not talking about a $1,500 stove. Ive been very patient, I sent numerous emails and Id let Monarch know what happened and where we stand. Im not happy and I feel like we need to have a warranty. But their stand is they cant offer us any warranty that Viking wont back. All in all, if we can ever get it working properly, we can use the small oven but not the big one. Its my husband and me right now so it hasnt been an issue but if we have a dinner party, it would be. Also, I am a little concerned that Im only getting a 90-day warranty, Im two months into this, I still dont have a working stove and whats gonna happen at the end of the next 30 days because it was faulty wiring which caused all the damage to my stove. The repair guy is out at South Lake Tahoe and I live in Sparks, Nevada so its an hour and 20-minute drive for him. He only goes to the Reno-Sparks area on Thursdays. So hell come out on Thursday and then if there are issues after he leaves, then hes not coming back till the following Thursday. I thought he was gonna come last Thursday and he didnt put me on the schedule. So I have to wait until this Thursday and its eating up my time.I have gotten nowhere because Im always the third party person dealing with Viking. The repair person talked to Viking, Monarch talked to their Viking reps and I havent had anybody from Viking contact me to talk to me about my issues. I told Monarch that if this cant be resolved, Im returning it and I want a full refund. If I have issues, then I will contact the appropriate department. They need to make this right. Im trying to be very reasonable and Im starting to get to the point where Im not gonna be. I am one of those people that try and work with everybody. Things happen and it doesnt do any good to get all upset. Its not the sales persons fault. But Im starting to get to the point where frustration is starting to set in. But we love the range and the parts that are working. We love everything weve used on the stove, the small oven and the broiler.

Ive had Viking products before and I heard about the Viking refrigerator from friends and people whove had Viking appliances. My son-in-law works for a company thats owned by Viking, so I got the friends-and-family deal, and it was a great deal. I like the French doors. In fact, this is the only slide-in refrigerator that Viking makes, and it was perfect for my kitchen thats relatively small. I just couldnt justify going up to a commercial grade refrigerator with a small kitchen. I also love the components of the freezer units. There are different areas where I can freeze things. Its very compact and efficient.I had a few questions regarding the refrigerator and the rep pointed out how to do the adjustments. I had called the Viking headquarters in Tennessee and asked for a hard copy version of the manual, even though its available online, but I never received it. Thats an oversight on their part, but I should just go ahead and print out the manual off of the internet. But other than that, Im very happy with the refrigerator. Its great. Its perfect for my needs and its a good-looking refrigerator, too.

In Dec. 2013, I began to have an issue with my Viking Dishwasher, purchased the previous March. It made a honking noise when changing cycles. I called Viking, got the name of their local authorized service company, and had that company come out. That was visit one. Need a part. Part ordered and service rep returns (Visit two). Dishwasher apparently repaired, but malfunctions the next time I used it - this time the audible warning beep wont stop. Call the repairman, who comes back and, you guessed it, needs to order a part (Visit three). When he returns and installs the part, the beep still wont stop, so apparently it is the wrong part (This completes visit four). Today he came for the fifth time and, you guessed it, apparently the part he replaced in one of the earlier visits is broken.Compounded the fact that I have been without a dishwasher for seven weeks is the terrible response I get when I try to contact Viking. The only time I was able to reach the company easily was in December. Since then, I am rerouted, given the wrong person, put on hold, etc. More important, apparently Viking has moved the consumer service warranty department to various locations, none of which have access to Vikings warranty records for its existing customers. I have given my serial number to three different Viking company reps over the course of my phone calls to the company, but apparently Viking either doesnt have a system that records this information or its system is not available to the reps assigned to handle customer warranty calls. Now this may make sense to someone, but that someone is not me. I do hope that my Viking fridge, range, and microwave, all purchased at the same time as the dishwasher, never malfunction. I certainly would not have bought any of these products if I had know how terrible the warranty customer interaction is.

We were home builders and we were at Pacific Sales looking at different ranges, and because of the design and quality, we went with Viking. We bought a double oven set for us. They are side by side and one is smaller and one is larger. However, the large oven did not work. I spoke to Viking, and it took five visits before they replaced it. They replaced it a month ago after I threatened to sue them.

Viking Combi oven model vcso210ss - This is an unsafe product. The trays on this small unit have no stops. As a result of this design defect, the trays slide forward and down. Because of this downward motion, anything on or in the tray has the potential to splash or fall onto the door, which pulls down, or onto the hands of the consumer. Fortunately, no injuries to date but will probably use mostly in the microwave mode which requires no tray.

We purchased a Viking range and it says it includes a boiler pan. We called the company we purchased it from and said the boiler pan is listed as part of what we shouldve received and we didnt receive it. They said theyd get us one, but its gonna be a while. I just got an email this morning that said itll be three to five weeks. We got a nice, new stove. Its great. Were enjoying the range, and we cant boil. We paid a lot of money for it and expected better service than this. It seems like were kinda getting the runaround. Someone should just take customer service seriously and send us a boiler pan.

Purchased one three years ago and are currently on our 7th repair visit. Reached out to customer support and there is none. Our latest issue was with the heat pump. Just melted the wires. Checked and they had a recall but it started with models later than ours. This is truly a safety hazard. Not to mention we paid twice what you would normally pay for a dishwasher based on the name and reputation of Viking appliances. We totally regret that decision. No product support, no customer support, how embarrassing.

I like the look of the Viking Ranges, the quality of the oven and the elect
I like the look of the Viking Ranges, the quality of the oven and the electric oven that’s hard to find. We got one that is 36 inches and has six burners. And this feature of the oven is my favorite. It’s a great looking range and of good quality. When we got it, we thought we had one burner that would not light. But I called and they had somebody come out right away and fixed it. It was quick and it was all covered in the warranty so it was nice and easy. The customer service has been great. Overall, I’m happy.

I like the reputation of the Viking refrigerator, and I like that they didnt have an ice dispenser on the door. So far, Ive had some issues, but they quickly repaired it. The fridge has been great except for this freezer function thing. It was kind of upsetting considering how much money the refrigerator cost. You think theyd work that out before it got to me. I would recommend it, but Id tell others about the icemaker issue. Other than that, the Viking looks amazing and the overall quality is great. I like the metal functions. The inside of the doors are not plastic so they’re cleaner. What I like the most is that somehow my food lasts longer. All the organic stuff that I normally buy spoils really quickly in my old refrigerator. On this one, they seem to last much longer.
