We owned a Viking beforehand. However, when we went into their store, we were not going to consider them. But we changed our mind and continued to use the brand because we were convinced by the sales rep that they had done some serious improvements in the product and that we should always consider them. Also, we were impressed by what we saw. The Viking team was excellent as well. They had the patience to work through all my wife’s questions and issues since she was the one that needed to be comfortable that we were making the right decision and that Viking had all the right stuff that she wanted. However, the drawers were supposed to be self-closing, but they don’t close. The repair guy was here for that and for the oven.

Purchased about six months ago and I have been picking up ice off the floor several times a day since! It overproduced ice into the bucket and when you open freezer ice falls out. I contacted customer service and a technician came to house. After consulting Viking directly it was found that this is a known problem and there is no fix for our model. I was told I need to lift the ice handle to stop making ice and put it down again when I need more. Can’t believe I have to make my own ice for a fridge that cost close to $10,000! The rep I purchased the fridge from contacted Viking to see if I could return and the answer was NO! Very disappointed!

The range is expensive, but you get what you pay for. So, Im very happy. I love the grill top. The Viking range works great, but it doesnt have a couple of key features. There are two things that I would love to see incorporated into the range. One, theres no clock, which makes me a little bit crazy because I’m obsessed with time sometimes. Two, being able to program the oven. Theres no programming feature. With the old oven I had, you could put something in the oven and program it to start baking in an hour or two hours. The range is a professional system and it’s designed for professional kitchens. So maybe some of those retail-oriented features dont come in that model. But it would be good if it did.

Weve had a Viking Refrigerator for as long as I can remember. We always like how the line of products look. Unfortunately, our own Viking Refrigerator has been terrible and we had a lot of issues with Viking because of it. We bought a new house and then the refrigerator stopped working. We had contacted Viking about 15 times to talk to them about replacing it but they kept sending somebody out to keep repairing it but it didnt work. They refused to replace it until the serviceman said theres nothing more he could do. So we went about eight weeks without having a refrigerator and thats not ideal when there are kids. We had to have the refrigerator replaced and its going to be our last Viking just because the customer service was absolutely horrific. They were very difficult to deal with and theyre worse than the refrigerator.

My mother has a Viking Pro since 1989 (25 years). No problems. At all. Nothing. Nothing but even oven temps throughout the cooking temp cycle. Steady, 3 setting flame burners that spread the flame evenly and have never failed. Solid as a rock construction. Dont know what to tell you - other than, you get what you pay for.

The service couldnt be worse. The 48 refrigerator unit overall is very nice - unfortunately the support staff is awful. This will be my last Viking unless something changes fast! I sure miss my Sub-Zero! The rep also lists an incorrect phone number on her email which just blows me away - when I email her it takes almost a week to get back to me as well.

We’ve known about Viking Refrigerators for years and never thought to buy one until we did a renovation in our kitchen. The quality and the warranty made us choose them. We bought it through Best Buy and it went okay. It’s a French door and we like its accessibility. Plus, we love its quality.

My Viking Refrigerator seems pretty high quality and well-built. Im impressed by the aesthetics and how it fits its space. The other feature was a light that turns on and off slowly. Its nice to have a little touch. But, getting it delivered was a huge pain. We told them specifically that we have a driveway thats not going to fit a large truck. They showed up with a semi-truck and they had no way to unload the refrigerator. Three weeks later, they came back with another truck. It took several tries to get the delivery right.

So far, Im very pleased with the Viking gas range six burner that I purchased. I like the reliability of the range. As far as the oven, I like the quality and the fact that when I open one of the French doors with one hand, they both open. My only concern was the knobs on the range didn’t match the French door oven. The French door oven has the stainless knobs and my range has dark, smoky, shiny knobs. I was trying to get those changed out and I was told by my dealer that Viking wouldn’t change those out for me. Nonetheless, their reps were great. They did everything they could to help this be a good experience. So, I’m very pleased with them. I just wish I had better knobs. I would love to be able to change them so that they match.

Viking has quality products and everybody says that their customer service
Viking has quality products and everybody says that their customer service is good. I got myself a Viking range and we have a problem with the grates. It is peeling. I sent them pictures and it’s taking a really long time to resolve. Viking said they were gonna send me a full set of replacement grates and then they said, “Okay, they’re shipping out.” I didn’t hear anything afterwards so I emailed the person I had been in contact with again and months after we still never got it. They said, “Oh, you have to register your product.” So I registered my product and then I said, “Okay, all registered,” and then I got no follow-up again. I now have to call the parts department so it has now been a three-month runaround. I thought that it was all taken care of on the backend. Its just a little confusing what’s going on with it. But the Viking range is great. I just wanna get the grates thing resolved.

My mom had a Viking range. I liked that it had the dual fuel and self-cleaning oven, so we got one too and we really like it. It is sturdy and seems very well-made, unlike some of those cheap or lower-end brands. I like all of its features. I like that the burner grates are individual, so they’re not so heavy to lift up. I saw that some other brands had only three burner grates or these were doubles, and I did not like having to pick up that heavy stuff. We went through Ferguson to buy our Viking range and they were great. We spent a lot of time looking into the range that we would buy because we just remodeled our whole kitchen and I’m hoping that our range will last for a very long time like my mom’s. I would recommend Viking.

Eight years ago, we remodeled our kitchen and purchased four Viking appliances - two wall ovens, an eight-burner gas range and a microwave. We spent in excess of $10,000 on these products with the expectation of high quality and the hope that they would be life-time investments. All still function well and we have had no problems up until now.Approximately 3 months ago the lettering and numbering on the oven control panels began to come off. I contacted Viking regarding this issue and was informed that I would need to purchase new control panels at a cost of over $100 each plus the cost of installation. Not only is the problem disappointing, Im even more disappointed in the complete lack of customer care or support demonstrated by Viking. I was unable to speak directly to a Viking customer support representative, instead was directed to a regional supplier who was less than engaged or helpful. The Viking call center is a maze of transfers and the corporate office phone number listed on the web site is simply a number that directs you to the same maze of transfers and select-an-options. Viking manufactures a good product and should stand behind it with stellar customer service and support. Numbers/letters rubbing off on a product meant to last a life-time is unacceptable and Viking should be willing to rectify the problem with minimal inconvenience and cost to their customer.I suggest Viking review the customer service/support policies of other high-end home product manufacturers and implement some of their strategies. In particular I mention Kohler. We are also experiencing a minor issue with a faucet we purchased during our kitchen renovation. Upon contacting Kohler, I spoke directly to a representative who immediately placed the order for the replacement part. It is being shipped directly to me at no charge. Companies who market themselves as offering high-quality products to discriminating customers should stand behind their products no matter how large or small the issue may be.

When we went to Nebraska Furniture Mart they had just taken the Viking Ranges out of a showroom because they were showroom models so the price was really good. Ive had the Viking range in my home for about a month now. I can read up on how to do some of the stuff but other than that I like them. My favorite thing is the ball bearing slide-out shelf. I recommend Viking Ranges.

We liked the looks and functionality of Viking but the quality is not so good. A couple clickers went out almost immediately, the ones that’s lighting the fire itself. Since my remodeling still going on and we have to call warranty and for the range of this price, this should be better. Some materials that are used for burners make it really impossible to clean including the griddle. But my favorite feature is how much room it has on the top.I bought the blower, the range, the microwave, the dishwasher and the refrigerator from Best Buy so, it’s pretty close to a $30,000 on the Viking products. But I could not get my products delivered. I paid for Everything was paid for and they got me a few items delivered. But the freezer was scratched and theres no one to talk to. That guy who was taking care of me at Best Buy left.Stove was nowhere to be found. I called the store and left messages, nobody answered. The people on the phone promised me to call me back all the time. Finally, I went into the store. They told me to stop by the following week and I did that again because I can’t get anybody on the phone every time I call. I tried to get on some guy, they looked for it, then three days after that, they finally delivered the range. It showed it was backordered, tracked it down that they arrived in Denver three weeks ago and it was sitting in a warehouse somewhere. It was a horrible experience.Think thrice because there’s Sub-Zero brand that is totally competitive and just go with them, that’s all [unclear 0:06:54] makes no sense to spend 50 grand with this kind of service or this kind of follow-up.

I went with the Viking refrigerator over a competitor because of its appearance. It is heavy and solid and because of that, some of the parts might have shifted during shipping. They needed quite a bit of adjustment at the beginning when its installed. The doors didnt shut well. But whats good about Viking is that they send people who handle their services well and they know how to deal with it. It is a process. But once its settled in, its all very good. Overall, it is an expensive set of products and the quality is great. But for the price I paid, it could be better.

Side by Side Refrigerator/Freezer Model FOSB 5422D - Beautiful built-in refrigerator freezer with ice dispenser in door. VERY expensive. Major design problem with icemaker. The basket holding ice has a metal part that connects with a plastic part to propel the ice into the dispenser. The metal part quickly destroys the plastic part, rendering the ice dispenser useless. All this within the first four months of use. The replacement ice basket has been on back-order for seven weeks. If and when it is replaced, I have no reason to believe the new part will enjoy a greater life expectancy unless Viking changed the design. If you intend to dispense ice from your freezer, be very wary of buying this model.

My mom is a chef and she said Viking is the best stove made. I like my range a lot. It’s a dual-energy. So, I’ve got a gas stovetop and an electric oven that has a convection. All the convection settings are really awesome. It takes too long to heat up. But once it gets hot, it’s great. The rows are nicer and much more even heating. It’s a very high-quality product. Im happy. The Wolf range was a little bit more money, but from the visit in the store, I didnt see that much difference in quality with the Viking range. One of the things that sold me on the gas stove top is that it has 55,000 Btu burners, and then, it’s got a little tiny one for simmering. That is awesome because the other products that I’ve owned only had one high-power burner, so I couldnt boil water and fry meat at the same time. But I do not have that problem anymore with Viking.

We purchased a free standing Viking Professional Range for our kitchen remodel. After a couple of years the griddle went on one night by itself and started a fire in our kitchen at 3am. Needless to say this was a harrowing experience. We had to have our entire kitchen and living room cleaned and repainted. The response from Viking was to send out a repair guy and change the control. Viking offered nothing for the cost of the fire damage and pushed back on helping out with even providing a new griddle cutting board.A couple of weeks ago the replacement switch went off by itself in the middle of the night again. Causing a second fire in our kitchen at 1:30am. We have contacted Viking and they offered to send out a repair company to replace the control again. We want this range removed from our home. This Viking Range is dangerous. There is a national recall on these. Look out for their expensive junk.Viking was bought by Middleby a few years ago. Since then the products are truly not worth it. They are cheaped out cost contained products at a high price. They put some stainless steel fronts with nice logos and call it professional. It is very poorly made unreliable sparkly stuff. Run from this place. Dont walk. Buy a Wolf or a Samsung not this junk....

I have a Viking freezer and a refrigerator and I haven’t been really pleased with either one of them. Ive had the refrigerator for eight years and it was the refrigerator of the home that I built. The problem Im having now is the coolant and there was some defrosting in it. The technicians had replaced it and tore this thing apart, but Viking sent them a defective part. When the technicians found out about it, they had already drained all the stuff out of the refrigerator and started putting it back together. The refrigerator has been down for a week now. We’ve been looking for parts for three months and it’s just not been a good thing. The refrigerator door doesn’t close right and the guy was trying to work on that too. The freezer seal has always been an issue as far as the white trim and we’ve replaced that a couple times. The refrigerator itself is fine, but as far as the room goes and the expenses, I’ve had a lot of difficulty with it and the freezer. Ive had the ice maker repaired and its been a terrible experience. I don’t think I’d buy another Viking. If someone asks me about them, Id tell them not to get a Viking.

The oven will intermittently not cycle and reignite to maintain temperature. The range is now nearly the end of the warranty and replacement parts, motherboard, and gas valve have been on backorder for months. After numerous calls to the authorized service center over the past two and a half years, the problem is getting worse. Just last Saturday, a family dinner was ruined because the range shut off and refused to reignite. The next day, no problem, the oven fired right up. Overall we are very disappointed in the lack of quality, value, reliability, and factory support. We would not recommend purchasing Viking products, and will not in the future.

When we first got the refrigerator, the bottom of the freezer started filling up with ice. The technician came out. Somehow, in the construction of the refrigerator, all this insulation had been sprayed down the tubes and supposed to drain that stuff out. They replaced the whole refrigerator. But then the bottom of each of the doors of the new refrigerator were all clogged up with the same sort of spray foam insulation. The technician came out again said that the doors needed to be replaced. NOW, Im going on five months waiting for that. Viking is just waiting for the new doors to be manufactured. The refrigerator works, but its not right yet, and I took a five-year extended warranty on it. With this defect, Im wondering if that five-year extended warranty is going to be extended when I finally get a refrigerator that works properly. I wish it was something that could be resolved in a timely manner. I understand people gotta wait for parts, but I bought the refrigerator at the end of December, and Im still waiting for it to be fixed.

Viking has been around for a while. We knew about the quality when we chose it. The rep was very knowledgeable and had a lot of experience, but it probably came down to when we knew about the really good price on which we got it. The quality of the range is okay although its not as well-thought-through as we might have thought it would be. The inability to effectively clean it is the most disappointing part of it. The technician who came out and serviced it knew what he was doing. He once said this is a known issue, and it just came with the range. I love my grill though, and I’m satisfied with my Viking range.

I like the durability, functionality, and ease of use of Viking ranges. We went to a Pacific Sales store very close to us. And my wife and I loved the 8-burners. We bought a Viking range and a few other Vikings such as microwave, dishwasher, and the hood. However, Pacific Sales screwed up the sales and they were not knowledgeable at all. There were delays in the delivery, and then when they scheduled it to come, we had to call multiple times. At one time, they delivered it to the wrong address, too, and the credit card that they charged was another issue. So, Viking really should check to see how Pacific Sales sell because of the experience. We finally got our purchase and we installed it, and I have nothing but good things to say about the look, the layout, the design, and the functionality. I love the burners and I love to cook. If I want to put something, I get a good enough heat in there, and that stuff is very good. I also like the traditional knobs. With the other companies, you really have to guess which knob to turn which burner on. The Viking is designed so well. Im very pleased with it. And now Im dealing with the rebate, which Im dealing directly with Viking. I sent them all the receipts to work on my rebates and I havent heard anything back from them yet. Also, when I call for the customer support, there was a lack of knowledge. And then, the website is designed for us to register there and its not as friendly as I want it to be and even though, when I call customer support and asked them, they didn’t know. So, I still hadnt registered my products with them yet.

I wanted a Viking since I was a kid and I know that they have the reputation for being the best stove. A few times that I’ve seen them, they seemed to cook the best. However, Im disappointed with the stove that I got. I’ve called them a couple of times for an issue that I’m having. I’ve had the stove since May and it’s not working correctly still. I have a 36-inch stove and it has a long piece of metal on the bottom. When you bake with a sheet pan, it sometimes pops so when I heat up the oven, once before it gets to a temperature, it makes this bang that shakes the whole house. Apparently, there was some kind of fix order, but they’re still going back and forth with me about whether to fix it or how they’re gonna fix it. I contacted their service company and someone came out to take a look at it. It was a younger guy and he said that its the way the metal is and there’s not really a fix for it.Then they called me and said that he wasn’t advised of what the fix was at that time and that they have to send somebody back out because the holidays are coming quickly and I still have a stove that doesn’t work. I can still use the stove, but I can’t pull my racks out of my oven, which I’m used to doing when cooking. If I have to take the pan out, the racks do not line up right, so I can’t take them out. I’m constantly reaching into a hot stove and it’s a hazard. On the other hand, their reps are very courteous and they’re great. It’s easy to get someone on the phone, they make appointments, and they have certified people that can come out to fix it, but the process is very slow. I wish they would move a little bit quicker when it comes to service considering the amount of money that I paid for this thing. I expect top-of-the-line service and at this point, my issue should be resolved. Other than that, I would still recommend Viking and it’s still my favorite brand. The stove works quicker than any other stove. It boils water in 60 seconds and it’s unreal. It’s almost too powerful to the point where I had to relearn how to cook. I was burning things initially because I couldn’t get over how strong it is.

The problem that I have is that the ice maker arm doesnt stop the ice tray from overfilling - when you open the door ice falls in the back and the arm drops -making additional ice, this causes the cubes to drop in the back of the freezer. Theres not enough space to remove the fallen ice and it also causes issues closing the door. The refrigerator is very good otherwise. Looks like a built in.

They listened and paid attention to the problem that I told them we had with the range. And they acted on it. That aside, the quality is very good. We had a custom kitchen built in Texas that I’ve had Viking products. Of the high-end brands, they were the least expensive and they were very reliable. But the quality of their refrigerator is not great at all. I would’ve been better off going to Home Depot. We’re on our third fridge from Viking. The first fridge we bought, we were told that it was a floor model, brand new, so we bought that one. It was shipped to us and we installed it. Three months later it broke. I called the Viking service tech. There is only one service tech in the Colorado area, so it took a while for him to get to me. He opened up the back of the fridge and said that it is a used fridge and it’s not under warranty. He looked up the serial number and he found out that that fridge was actually already warrantied by Viking and it was supposed to be destroyed. Then Viking West Coast and Viking East Coast, the two corporate offices got into a pissing match on who was responsible for it. So we were caught in the middle of food that wasn’t cold… while they tried to figure out who was gonna warranty it because Viking West Coast said it’s already been warrantied and its not their problem because we bought it from an East Coast dealer. It eventually got up to one of the VPs at Viking corporate and they said Viking East Coast will take care of it. They sent me a replacement refrigerator that the shipper dropped off the back of the truck. And then we rejected that fridge. Then they told us, “I’m sorry but that was the last fridge in North America.” The next fridge was on a set of containers coming over from China. And that’s when I found out that Frigidaire made their fridge. I told them I’m not paying an extra thousand dollars for a Frigidaire then. We eventually got one that was supposed to be going to one of their preferred dealers to market. It was a new fridge - a new model, because they weren’t making the old model anymore. And it’s been working ever since.

Were contractors who do high-end kitchen and bathroom remodeling and we used Viking on projects. We were going to get a Thermador for the price difference, but the Viking rep thought it would be beneficial to their company to give us a heck of a deal on their product to put the Viking in. In the end, it came in the same price as the Thermador. Plus the Viking dealer was perfect and the rep was super, so we went with them. But there were a couple of drawbacks. Viking used these drill bit screws that stripped if you tighten them too much. So the door has a couple of stripped screws and it rattles too, so I replaced them with larger sheet metal screws. So one of the people in the assembly line overtightened and its stupid. Its nothing I cant fix, but for its value, I shouldnt have to. Viking is made in Mississippi and its very important to me its made in the US. But Im shocked that Viking uses a Broan motor. The motor in ours was brand new but it lasted only 10 minutes and Im still waiting for the replacement. If I had known Viking had a Broan motor, I wouldnt have bought it. The quality of Viking over Thermador is really nice but Broan motors are garbage. Also, the only thing weve used is the burners, but were still waiting for the guy to adjust them. My wife likes the little window in the range, though.Viking looks beautiful and I know the issue with the parts is going to get taken care of but its been a long time. I called the dealer and I asked where the parts were at. He told me it was kind of difficult. If I was Viking, Id get the customer a new motor and ask him not to slam us. In our line of work, we deal with all these high end people and Thermador knocks the teeth out of Viking for sales.

We had to replace our six-year-old Viking which was in our house when we bought it. Only another Viking would fit in the hole for the fridge. We got a new model and it has been great. The company that brought the fridge out did a fantastic job. We like the lights inside which are really bright. Its also a lot quieter than the old Viking we had. It also has sliding drawers on it that you’d touch and they just shut on their own. One time, we called to talk to somebody at Viking about the warranty and my wife said that went really well. Overall, the refrigerator we have is very nice and were really happy with it.

This refrigerator is a disaster! The ice maker has broken repeatedly since Ive owned it. Repair calls and bills for that and it still doesnt work. The plastic handles on the bins are all broken. When you pull on them to open the drawers, they break. And the worse thing? It leaks. I have thousands of dollars of damage to my bamboo floor. After having this repaired, I see that the pan under the refrigerator fills up with water every few days. This is a refrigerator, not a high tech device. The engineering should be mundane. Ive had other refrigerators from GE that are far less expensive that never needed servicing. Nothing with this refrig works and I dont understand how this company could release it for sale, not have a recall, not replace them, not offer money back. The product is totally defective.I see that many others on this site have experienced the same problem. I am considering instituting a class action lawsuit. If you are interested, please let me know. It is unethical, bad business and fraudulent for the company to sell defective products and then not stand behind them.

I’ve known about Viking Refrigerators for years and I purchased from them because of the warranty. I’m happy overall with the fridge, but I expected a little better quality of the drawer pull-outs and the freezer. They’re kind of flimsy. Also, during the purchasing process, I had a horrible experience as it took forever to get the fridge purchased. It was not a streamlined process. And when we were having this horrendous noise, we ended up having to go back to the store two or three times before they would finally send somebody out. It turned out that their delivery people left a big cardboard in the back which was causing the problems. All we had to do was remove it. I also wish the fridge had a water dispenser.

BUYER BEWARE. They will NEVER replace a product that is brand new and doesnt work, they WILL keep sending repair people and order parts. Fact: Bought a new Viking refrigerator/freezer. Fact: Doors are cracked and freezer doesnt work, refrigerator freezing everything. Fact: Notified retailer, they sent two repair people to appraise, both said it should be replaced. Fact: Third repairperson finally told us what Viking wanted to say, which was it can be fixed if we replace the doors and thermostats.Vikings policy is they will NOT take back, even a brand new appliance, if they can replace all of the parts. Problem, parts have been on backorder so we have no freezer for 2 months and our refrigerator freezes our food. Viking did offer us $400 to buy another refrigerator until the parts finally come in. Where are we to put this, and where can I get one for $400 with installation? I have begged, literally, for them to replace it... I didnt ask for our money back, just replace with a quality item... They refused. I was better off with my other brands that were less money. I will NEVER EVER tell anyone to buy Viking. Honestly, it is a horrible situation.

I had a Sub-Zero for 23 years and it broke. I always knew about the Viking Ranges but never knew about the refrigeration. When I went to replace it, I had to get something with the same size so I decided to go with the Viking this time instead of Sub-Zero. Viking had everything that I liked about the Sub-Zero. I liked the freezer on the bottom, the drawers, the style, stainless steel, and the three-year warranty. I liked the look of it and it fits perfectly. I like everything about the lighting inside, too. Its awesome. I’ve only had it for a few weeks, but so far everything’s good. My refrigerator didnt come with a kickplate and I am still waiting for it. I’m hoping that it will come soon. It’s been a few weeks and everythings been fine. The quality of the refrigerator has been good. I like the ice machine thats why I bought it. Its just not been putting out as much ice as it should for the money. It only made eight ice cubes every four hours on Thanksgiving when we were actually using a lot of ice. We had a lot of people, and we ran out of ice by noon. I was using my ice quicker than it was making ice. I understand that Thanksgiving is a different whole thing, but I would have expected it not to take till Saturday before I had a lot of ice. The company in Houston handles the maintenance and right now, with COVID, everything had to wait.

I like the quality and the fact that Viking refrigerators are made in the US. We got one delivered in June and it was a $3,500 fridge, but there were many issues with it. The doors could not be adjusted and the panel on the bottom didnt lay flush. On the second day we had it, it went up to 80 degrees inside. It started heating up at about noon and then by that evening, it was around 84 degrees. My husband reset the fuse box the next morning at 6:00 AM. It must have rebooted it so it started working again. When I spoke with the customer service representative, she told me they were not going to send somebody to look at it because it was working. I found that unacceptable because there was something wrong with it. There was moisture in the seal between the refrigerator itself and the freezer. I could see where the freezer had somewhat warmed up because there was icy buildup on the shelves. Initially, I wasn’t that satisfied with the customer service with Viking. The freezer was lukewarm so we had the approved rep here in Hawaii come and look at it. He couldnt figure it out so we ended up ordering a replacement for it. The new one was delivered two days ago and I like the double door opening. Right now, though, I feel that I am satisfied but I hope something doesn’t go wrong because of the issues Ive had.

We got a Viking Range and one of the burners is not working. The place where I purchased it, Ferguson in Pasadena, sent a repairperson to come and it turned out one of the modules was not working. They were surprised that the module wasnt tested before it left the factory. We ordered a module and they are scheduled to come out and replace that. Also, some of the knobs with which I turn the range are starting to become really sticky and its taking a bit of force to turn them. Usually, when I turn the range on, I push it in, turn and then Ill hear the clicker start and the burner will come on. Now, I cant feel whether Im pushing it in or not and the turning isnt as smooth. Otherwise, the burning is fine. Ferguson was very helpful in getting the repairperson and with scheduling. If something like this occurred after maybe a year or two of use then I would say Well, maybe the product was kind of defective and using it made it fail. But this is right out of the gate, less than 30 days. Im having to deal with these two situations in a premium range. I have the Viking hood and microwave oven. Theyre all working fine except for this range which is not living up to the Viking reputation.

I purchased a Professional Series Viking Range this past summer. Used it very little until the holidays came and day before Thanksgiving, it pooped out. So long story short, they got it working for a few days then 10 days before Christmas and all the house guests, the oven stops again. Parts ordered over 10 days now and no one seems to know where they are. The people who are contracted to service the oven are most definitely not the problem, it is Viking. This company has bar none the absolutely worst customer service I have ever encountered. They do not return calls, they put you on hold for literally hours. No one seems to know anything about anything. Even their supervisors are bad. All you can do is leave a message. It is a true shame that a company that is representative of how things are done in the United States of America has screwed it up so badly. They are apathetic. Too bad because not every American company is this bad. I have had a much better customer service experience with my foreign made TV. I would recommend that just because you pay top dollar does not guarantee you will get great service. They are the worst.

Th experience with Viking has been good so far. The silver is fantastic but it’s funny how things are made nowadays. The old Viking stove was a lot heavier and solid compared to the new one. But the stove works great and I have no issues with it. When it first came out, they had to come and fix the seal on the front glass. During manufacturing, it was smooshed and not done right. But they fixed it quickly. I like how quickly and evenly the range cooks. But in trying to clean it up, I take the grates on and off and I noticed that the shiny part that’s the top of the stove scratches super easily. My last one didn’t do that so the coating isnt as good as it used to be.

We recently built a new house and purchased a Viking range, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and wine refrigerator. In a short amount of time, we have had the refrigerator repaired four times - all involving issues with the ice maker and water dispenser. The dishwasher still works but the button that lights up when you push start does not. Apparently, that costs a couple of hundred dollars to repair. The wine refrigerator needed a new thermostat - that was a $400 repair. So far, we have not had any issues with the range or microwave. A Viking representative came out and repaired the refrigerator free of charge, but the other items were out of warranty (only 15 months old!). I have emailed customer support several times, but to no avail. I am a very, very unhappy and dissatisfied customer.

We did a kitchen remodel in 2005. Just like all of you, we thought we were buying the top of the line appliances. We have replaced the hinges twice, the freezer seal, the icemaker three times, had water flowing out of the corner of the bottom freezer, the alarm going off constantly, and now - a refrigerant leak. We were told that it is a ten-hour repair for two repairmen - approx. $1800! We are going to buy a new unit this weekend, and you can bet that it will not be a Viking. We bought a new house 3 years ago. The house came with all brand new Viking appliances, wonderful we thought... until we actually wanted to use them. We have a microwave, fridge/freezer, 6 burner range oven and dishwasher. Fridge/freezer and microwave have worked fine, so no complaints there.Oven and dishwasher however, are a bit of a disaster. First of all the oven - the gas was coming in too far from the flame, so it would never light properly, or it would light and then go out after a few seconds, just leaving the click click click as it tried to reignite, and the smell of gas everywhere. Called the engineer and he repositioned the pipe so it would work properly (the original issue might have been the problem from installation and not a Viking problem, Im not sure). Then after this visit, the fan in the oven makes a ting ting ting noise knocking against something if we try to use it - as wed had the engineer out for the dishwasher in the middle of this, I couldnt face getting him here again, so we have lived for 3 years without using the fan. Now onto the dishwasher which wasnt working when we moved in (brand new dishwasher), sometimes it would stop mid-cycle, other times it wouldnt go on at all. We had the service engineer out several times. First time he tried resetting everything, then second time he ordered a new electric panel on the front and came back and installed it later, then after that it seemed to work fine. Until yesterday, when the electric heater failed - at least this is the word on the Viking website talking about this very issue on a product recall (which doesnt include our dishwasher). As I sat about 3 feet from the machine, I heard a strange short circuit sound and a pop, seconds later there was smoke coming from the machine (which was running), I grabbed the fire extinguisher and switched everything off. Moved our two babies to another room, and pulled the machine out of the wall with my husband, smelt where it was coming from, and dismantled the thing to find a completely burnt out electric heater and wiring on the bottom. Very dangerous. We now have a semi-dismantled dishwasher in the kitchen and we are trying to get the part replacement - officially this is on a 6-week order lead time. More to come, but 100% sure that I would not purchase Viking again.

Dana is the cook in the family and he’s done lots of research on the Viking company. We also visited many stores and tried many models. This is his second stove. He originally had the 36-inch that was black with brass trim all over it and that’s what he really wanted to get this time. The oven enameling of the first range flaked off, so they had to replace it for us. The dealer was great and customer service has been very good.He really likes that there’s a smaller oven where we don’t have to heat up a great big oven to cook. We wanted to have a name brand appliance for our home and the cost point for Viking Range was slightly better. It has a noisy fan that runs after you run the stove and you turn it off and you’re having dinner and this thing just keeps running and running. There’s no adjustment to it and there’s no way to bypass it. It’s a deficient feature and that is a cause of some significant dissatisfaction. Other than that, I like it. The local guy from East River Appliance Repair was completely clueless and had really no value. I was ready to return the thing and I was really unhappy with it. But Viking was willing to bring a guy four hours from Denver up to Crested Butte, Colorado and fix a problem that the local guy was clueless about. The guy up from Denver was a real pro. He knew what he was doing and fixed everything. He said that the door was not primarily damaged and it could be adjusted. He saved the day for Viking. We had run our course with other good, run-of-the-mill brands. It was a Samsung that had four doors and a three-zone in it. They were good on their warranty but we had nothing but problems with it. Then I had to wait six weeks to get a check from them. So I said, Nevermore. I’ve seen Viking Refrigerators in homes. They had built-in units in nice, fancy custom kitchens and I knew of their reputation like a Sub-Zero. Plus, I liked the simplicity, the build and the feel of the Viking refrigerator. That was what I set out to buy in the first place. We had a very good experience with the Viking dealer and we were well-served by the individual who sold the appliance to us. The one we got has a French door and the bottom drawer. It was the only model that was standalone and the rest of them were for custom kitchens. Its top-shelf and I’m very pleased with its quality. However, the process of this particular case of me getting this range on a deal (I found a great deal of a new unpacked range for almost half the price) and the things that followed werent great. I got the range, brought it home, installed it then there were some problems which I reported in my communication with the company. It was quite lengthy to get the proper technician to come and look at it. Theres a whole process that I experienced talking to the company and the company has another company hired for public relations. I got an email from that second company that the issues were being looked at. Then the same second company recommended the local tech but I wasnt happy with the tech that worked initially. The local company that was hired to look at the things that are not functioning reported something that wasnt complete. So, I had to recall the technician and another technician came. They ordered the parts that were malfunctioning and they installed it. The second tech finally solved it but it was about two months of smelling gas and its been quite stressful. The process could be something more straightforward like you talk to the company and get a response from the company. There are no middlemen and no broken chain of relaying the problems that are reported.

We were at Best Buy looking at a different refrigerator brand and there was a wonderful Viking refrigerator on sale there because it was being discontinued. We ended up buying it and it’s been an outstanding product. I like that it’s huge compared to any that I’ve had in the past. I don’t currently have the Viking range but I had one in Chicago, and that is another reason why we looked at Viking. However, I’ve had some problems with the ice-maker so we had some service going recently. Customer service had to order some parts for me so it’s not fixed yet. But overall it’s a wonderful product if you’re able to afford it.

Ive had the range for less than a year and there were all these things wrong with it. We had to have the repair people out. I purchased it through Abt and they did not have a repair person out for six weeks. I was without a stove over Thanksgiving and up to about a week before Christmas. I was not happy. Abt said those stoves are solid. But theyre not reliable quality machines. Im very upset with the whole thing. Now we purchased a Viking convection, that we cooked a little bit. But its not the same. So Im not happy with it. I would appreciate a call from Viking. I should be given some kind of five-year warranty on this because I dont know whats going to happen. I dont trust the machine.

Not going to go long. I will say that the dishwasher has never worked right. Leaks, fails to start, doesnt clean well and finally went up in smoke. This appliance is made by Bosch for Viking so dont go running to them thinking youre going to get an upgrade. Just terrible. The fridge? It leaks, its complicated and makes strange noises. Oh and the shelves just randomly break and are very expensive to fix. Customer service? They have none. The times I have actually gotten through to a person have been accidentally erased from their logs. I am so sorry I bought this stuff. What an incredible waste of money.

I had a Viking cooktop before and last August, I had a Viking Range installed. Since I didn’t want all the electronics that most ranges have and wanted to keep it simple and fewer things to break, I went with Viking and it seemed to meet that need. I had a very good experience with the company where I got the range from and they were very helpful. I feel good about the quality of the range. I wish the oven was a little deeper but having the convection part, I love the depths of the oven. The range is working well and is easy to use, and a lot of my friends have Vikings too.

We love our Viking appliances. We dont regret spending that money. I like how high our refrigerator is. It feels like Im at a grocery store. Theres items at the top shelf. It makes it like I know whats in my refrigerator. And I love the design. The people at Viking were also very professional. But we had some issues with the installation because we went with a general contractor, and they installed some stuff wrong because they dont deal with Viking often. So if I were to do this over again, I would have somebody who knows Viking. The contractor couldnt open the door. We couldnt open the door. We couldnt figure it out. And we had to call Viking and then they sent somebody to open the door for us.

I was a little disappointed in the delivery from the vendor that I got the range from. He kinda just threw it on the front door and left. It wasn’t installed, so I had my contractors install it. But there was some damage. I don’t know if the guy damaged it on the front kick plate right under the oven. Once I called, they sent someone quickly and replaced it. Overall, it’s a great product. I wanted a classic gas stove and didnt want one with computers. The Viking range was simple and that was why I got it even though it was not as good as Wolf. But I had a question about the product because it was so hard to see one. I got the cheapest 30-inch range and the showrooms had none. I was told by a Ferguson person that there was two of this one and so she called and said, Oh, ones not supposed to be there, they have upgraded it. I called Vikings to find out what they changed because the price was lower. The rep was short with me and she wasnt the best customer service. Also, when I was buying it, I was told there was nobody to service it in Williamsburg. I told them that Port City does and so the rep called them and they go, Yeah, we work on them. They even put it down on my sales receipt. The day after I got it, I roasted a bunch of vegetables and there was moisture in between the glass on the oven door. It didnt go away for four days. I called Ferguson and they called Port City who sent a guy out. My stove has a middle burner thats oblong and its one of the lowest BTUs. This one wouldnt light like the other one. The repair guy said that it was the same as the round one but there were more holes and that was normal. The installers said they were gonna replace the glass thing in the middle. But its never done it again and now, Im worried and Im afraid to say, Dont fix it cause theyll say later, Oh, you wouldnt let us fix it. The moisture does dissipate eventually and I have faith in my repair guy that hell do it right cause Ive known him for years. But since the day I got the oven until now, I still dont have the part. Other than that, everything seems fine to me.

When I shut the freezer door of the Viking refrigerator, it hangs up about a half an inch on one side and then I gotta slam it in. Its also overheating. Then every time I open the freezer drawer, the ice bin flips out on the floor, it goes backward. The machine rubs on the top of the ice because the ice bin is full and so the ice flips out. Now Ive got to open the door very carefully so I dont get ice on the floor because my floor is not in yet. But if I normally pull the door, it would do that. Viking could have designed this a little bit better.I called the retailer, Freds Appliance, immediately for repair and they said theyd get somebody out. A week passed and nobody called so I called again. The guy asked if somebody called me and I said no. He said that hed get right on it. Then another few days passed and we finally got a call. The people are not coming out till the 28th so Im dealing with the door being crappy. Im not happy that I paid a lot of money -- cause I bought the fridge, the oven, the dishwasher, the microwave, the icemaker, the range from Viking and then I gotta deal with this. Its not fair because Ive just had it for two weeks.

My son and my daughter used to rent places with Viking appliances and they loved it. They suggested it to me and we went with it because of the reputation and the good quality product. I purchased the refrigerator from the local appliances store and it was wonderful because we had done the research. We came up with what we wanted and looked up who could order it for us. Then we went to the store where they recommended online from Viking and we ordered that. So it was good. I like the look of the refrigerator and how all the buttons are inside. Theyre not visible. Weve installed everything according to the instructions but the ice is not working. So the dealer who sold us the refrigerator is coming to see what’s going on. Hopefully, they will fix it. But other than that, there has been no problem and overall, the experience has been excellent.

We built our house two years ago and put in over $60,000 in Viking appliances double over, two dishwashers, stove top, microwave, outdoor grill, fridge, and under counter fridge. I have problems with my dishwashers since day one. They have been serviced 5 times in 2 years. Last week when my one year old daughter opened the door of my under counter fridge, the whole door fell off and landed on her leg, trapping her under the 70 lb door. When I called Viking range to let them know and ask them to recall the fridge and replace mine they did nothing about it. I have had problems with my other Viking products. Do not buy Viking appliances. They are defective and Viking will not stand by their products. I have contacted a lawyer and am going forward with legal action.

I have a 36 Viking refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. Generally it does what its supposed to do -- keep food cold. But its rather noisy. I can hear it running in the next room. The refrigerator door has an annoying tendency stay open; it has to be closed with a deliberate push or it will swing wide and bang into an adjacent wall. I assumed it would be a simple adjustment to rebalance the door so that it would close with a slight nudge as most refrigerator doors do, but a Viking repairman said there was nothing he could do to correct the problem. The ice maker has also been troublesome. There is a thin metal bar that senses when the ice cube bin is full and shuts the ice maker off. The same bar also acts as a manually operated switch to turn the ice maker back on when more ice cubes are needed. However, the bar is rather flimsy and has a tendency to come loose from its socket, with the result that the ice maker runs continuously churning out buckets of ice cubes with no way to stop it (echoes of The Sorcerers Apprentice) other than by turning off the water supply -- not very well engineered.

My battle with my Viking product began 8 yrs ago. We bought a new with new appliances. All Viking. Living 8 yrs with this refrigerator has been like living in the 1800s. We have had our ice maker break 3 times. Hinges break. But the biggest problem is the food staying fresh. Mainly because the only choice in cooling for this refrigerator is Lukewarm and rotten food or your eggs yogurt and all food frozen. I am writing this once again because I own a very expensive refrigerator and without and help this company has not recalled this lemon of a product. The frustration level is so bad I had to take to Facebook last time I sought out help for this problem. I then made friends with people in Vancouver Colorado and Brazil all whom had the same problems and the company took back their refrigerator. They sent me repair man and blocked me from their social media. But I still continue to have Massive problems with this refrigerator.Ice maker once again broken. Broken shelving and cooling problems begin to plague me once again. Imagine your danger comes home from college has surgery before the holidays and you take out the large tub of yogurt frozen solid. You like to drink cranberry juice frozen solid. Take something off a different shelf moldy. It is almost impossible to deal so I go buy a garage refrigerator to try to survive the holidays. I will never purchase a Viking product again and when Im in store I do walk up to complete strangers and tell them to run from this product. It saddens me because I would love to support a company made in the USA. I just would like a company to stand by this and make good.

Updated on 12/23/2018: Viking contacted me a few weeks after I posted the below review in May 2017, and asked if they could send a local area authorized Viking repair technician to come out and look at my D-3 Dual-fuel 30 (RDSCD2305BIB), which I agreed to. The tech came out not long after, I explained all the problems and prior two service repairs by the store I purchased through (Abt), showed him pictures of a pizza I cooked (I included photos with original review), the bottom was still pale and not cooked, the top was almost burnt. He assessed the oven, made a phone call and determined what parts needed to be replaced, including part for the burners, which spontaneously adjust the flames on occasion. He put the order in, but was not completely sure this would fix the problems. I waited several weeks until parts came in and technician came back.I was hopeful on this 3rd time fixing on an expensive oven, but to no avail. The oven temperatures are still not regulating correctly, they dont hold or get too hot, takes far too long to heat up, and still doesnt cook/bake food properly. My most recent baking fail was a homemade apple pie I made for Thanksgiving, a pie Ive made many times in many ovens with no issues. I followed my normal process, but within the first 20 minutes the top crust was starting to burn, so I covered with foil and kept baking because the rest and bottom still needing more time. When it was time to take out, it was a disaster, it wasnt an apple pie, it had cooked it into an APPLESAUCE pie! Ive never had this happen before, there was nothing salvageable and ended up in the garbage. This range is terrible and a complete waste of money, Im so disappointed since Viking used to be a quality brand, in hindsight I wish I had bought something different, Im glad I didnt buy Viking for my other appliances. Everyone I tell whats been happening says Viking should have replaced with a new unit by now.I will say again, I will never buy another Viking product again or recommend. I feel that I have been patient and trying to work through these problems, I enjoy cooking and baking, but not with this oven, its too frustrating and irritating, but I cant justify spending money to buy a new, different oven.Original Review: I did a kitchen gut renovation in 2013 with all new appliances. I wanted to do a dual-fuel because I read those were better for cooking. I researched a lot of options. At the time when I was shopping in 2012, the Viking D3 was still kind of new, but I didnt see any negative reviews and I always had heard Viking was a good brand. I proceeded to purchase the D3 dual-fuel 30 range in a color that is no longer an option and matching hood to coordinate with a color scheme in my kitchen (pop of color) and I dont like stainless, the range was $3400 and the hood $2000. The reputable company I ordered this through and who did the install, had a tech come out to make sure the ventilation parts were installed correctly on the hood, all was good. The range and hood were installed in 2013 and all seemed fine. Not long after, I was cooking something in the oven and the bottom was not cooked properly. I later cooked some pizzas, all them came out with the underside almost raw (pale colored too), but the top cooked fine. I called the company who I ordered through, technician came out and said the Molex(?) part had not been connected at the warehouse. It was still covered under warranty. Keep cooking things and still the same issues. I cooked a pizza once directly on the bottom rack, the underside should have been almost charred, but it was mostly uncooked, the topside was almost burnt (pictures shown).Called again (May 2015) and said it must be something with the cooking element and will order a new part, of which they called me back to say Viking told them the part would not be available until August, 3 months?! I felt that was unacceptable and emailed Viking directly telling them it was ridiculous I had to wait that long for a part when given how much I spent on this range and it doesnt cook properly, Viking rep apologized and shortly thereafter the part arrived in about 2-3 weeks.I also in this time experienced an issue with the vent hood, I was cooking something that kicked up smoke, I turned on the hood and the smoke curled around the hood not into it, I ended up having to open windows to air out kitchen. The technician came out, installed the new part, I told him about the vent hood, said all looked hooked up correctly and I told him what we had to do before installation, he subsequently called Viking who had no answers for him.So the new part was installed and it has made no difference at all. I have a separate temperature gauge for the oven and it never heats to the proper temperature, food doesnt cook properly, I have to monitor it closely. I have to heat the oven at least 30 minutes or more and theres no indicator of when its ready, the blue light on the front is useless except to tell me the oven is on. Once I was cooking something that needed to be cooked at 450(F), after 30 minutes I opened the oven and the gauge said it was over 525-degrees. The gas burners are average, they never seem to be at the correct level according to the dial, and the flames adjust themselves at times. I havent even tried the broil or convection options, too concerned what might happen. It has been extremely frustrating and not pleasurable cooking with this range as its so unpredictable, doesnt cook/bake foods properly. Ive spent all this money for something that looks pretty, and a total waste of $, I truly regret buying it and would never buy another Viking product or recommend it to others. People come into my kitchen and say what a pretty oven and cool color, which I tell them yes its pretty, but its a piece of crap. My other appliances (Whirlpool and GE) have been working great since I bought them through same vendor, no servicing since buying in 2013. I had better cooking experiences on my old, cheap all electric oven, even the cheap one before that, which was 20 years old. Of course the Viking range is out of warranty now and Im stuck with this hunk of junk and based on what Ive heard of Viking customer service and reviews, I dont expect them to be much help. They should replace it. I see they are still selling these models, but are just calling it the Series 3. I cant justify spending the money buying a new range and hood. Its an oven, it shouldnt be that complicated to manufacture something that works properly for that kind of money.

What I liked about Viking was the unwavering quality but I dont think thats true anymore. The Viking appliances that I have that were supplied with the apartment are of a much lower quality than I had come to expect from them. Theyre only a couple of years old but Im not happy with them. Im very disappointed with Viking and Im looking to replace the appliances that I have. With the open burner range, it feels very rickety and I have to take it apart to clean it quite often. But Im fearful about cleaning it. Looking inside, there are these loose wires and I need to clean the inside very carefully for fear that I will dislodge some wire or something. Also, I have a dishwasher and a microwave that have failed and the refrigerator freezes milk but doesnt have even temperature regulation. They replaced the microwave fairly quickly but when the dishwasher broke, I was without a dishwasher for almost two months. Viking seems to be able to replace things, but they dont seem to be able to fix things.

I had a Viking range 20 years ago. I was looking for a new gas range with certain features and Viking filled the spot. So far, I love the quality of the range that we received from Viking. I like that it’s simple, very direct, and does what it says it’s gonna do. I turn it on and off, and there are no hidden electronics to mess up. It has worked ever since we set it up, so it’s great. Also, I absolutely love the broiler. But any time that people buy something online and it’s being shipped from New York, nobody gives them a date on when their product is going to arrive and there’s a bit of tension that goes on with that. In this case, our product arrived two weeks later than what we were promised, so there was some angst with that. But scheduling was the only issue that we had and other than that, the people that I talked to were very nice and polite.

We purchased a Viking Gas Range this summer for our kitchen renovation. We were excited about our purchase as we had saved up for this particular gas range. After install, we have been less than impressed. When preheating, the gas oven makes a very loud bang! (As if metal is expanding inside.) It scares me every time I hear it, even though I know its coming. When I called customer service, I was told once that it was normal and a second time, I was put on hold for 20 + minutes, only to hang up because I didnt feel my concern was being valued. We also smell a very strong smell of gas or exhaust when the gas oven is on.My concern is that the loud bang and smell of gas/exhaust should not be present in an appliance that is so expensive. We expected higher quality when we made this purchase. Ive tried calling customer service and entering a claim on the website (which seems to be permanently down and unable to accept claims online). I want to be in love with this purchase, but Im not. In fact, I feel a little uneasy using the gas oven due to the experience Ive had so far.

I’ve worked in restaurants for a very long time and I came to know about Viking Ranges. I decided to buy one from PC Richards since for a home oven, I wanted something that has more fire and a more professional look. I like it a lot. It’s a very good quality and high-powered oven and I like that the internal temperature is more accurate than most home ovens. I had some issues with the oven turning on and the pilots, but I had it serviced within a few months of buying it. I also had a problem with the little rubber stoppers on the underside of the grates that go over the burners. Those fall off all the time and it’s a hassle because I’m worried about the grate scratching the oven underneath when I take them off to clean and put them back on. But those little rubber things gone missing is probably the biggest issue I’ve had, which is good.

We wanted an all-gas oven and Viking had it. We also wanted self-cleaning, and the one we got came available with white on the front, which we wanted. The dealer was great. However, on the back of the range, we bought a separate piece for the air to come up from the oven, and it blows the burners when the oven is on and causes the burners not to be as efficient. That’s a big flaw. Because that air is blowing the burners and the flame is flickering, it takes forever to boil something. I wouldn’t recommend it because of that. If I were to do it again, I wouldn’t get it.

There were a couple other brands that we were looking at that had added features that we didn’t need. We chose Viking for the price and it was what we needed. I really like the pizza pocket thing in the refrigerator, which is really awesome. Its cool that I don’t have to rearrange my entire refrigerator for that. I also like the humidity-controlled drawers because we don’t keep meat in the house, so we have a lot of vegetables. They tend to stay better longer than in other refrigerators through that. It seems like Viking has really thought this product through. Stuart, probably the store owner or a manager, was really knowledgeable and was able to direct us. He was able to show us the things that make all the difference with the price tag between Viking and the other high-end or low-end products. His sales technique was really good and he was very respectful. The only thing that was a little irritating was for the price tag of the refrigerator, better communication should have come from him. We seemed like an afterthought once he got the money and we werent sure when the refrigerator was coming in or when it was going to be delivered. We expected a certain level of service and Stuart seemed like he dropped the ball after we paid him. I had to chase him down and lock in a date instead of him communicating with us. Other than that, everything else was really great and were really happy with our fridge. The delivery team was amazing and they were quick and very careful with our house and with our refrigerator. There was a little hiccup with the installation. The guy said they’ll troubleshoot it and see if they can make it work, and they did. People are really impressed when they come over and see that we have a Viking.

The refrigerator door fell on my wife out of nowhere when she opened it. But Viking they did an exceptional job in making sure that my wife was okay and that we received a new unit. We couldn’t be happier with their response. I assume it was because of the liability and the potential for an injury. They also probably wanted to prevent that from ever happening again. We have three little kids and God forbid it was one of them who opened those doors. It weighs 150 to 200 pounds fully loaded. Viking said it has apparently never happened before but that can happen with any product. Still, we’re happy with the product, its looks and its performance. We’ve owned the Viking refrigerator for some time now, along with the oven, the microwave and the dishwasher. We have the whole Viking outfit. We purchased a Viking D3-RDDFF23655, 12/10/12, all was fine until Nov. of 2015, when there was water leaking onto the bottom of the freezer, a water device was changed and cost us $333.36 (just out of the 3 year warranty). July of 2017, 5 years after purchase. Ice maker was not working, filtered water was not working correctly. Another repair bill of $840.26 to fix problem. We paid $2,800.00 and in just 5 years have had to pay another $1,173.62. Averaging over $270 a year. When we went looking for a refrigeration system for Thanksgiving the salesperson showed us different brands and the Viking appealed to us. My wife liked the configuration of the shelves inside. She also likes the openness of this refrigerator. Its not cluttered and we could adjust the shelves. Diana, the person I dealt with at Viking, was super. The only thing is that they were so busy that they couldnt deliver the refrigerator so I went to pick it up.However, were having trouble with the icemaker. The refrigerator takes a couple of days for it to generate. It was making a little bit of ice and then all of a sudden it didn’t make ice. So we called the repair facility and that was not a happy thing for me because we had to find different dealers that would service Viking. We finally found one and they came out and worked on it. But after four days it had spit out about five ice cubes and that was it. We had the repair technician come out again and he said that theyll order a new one. I said okay and were waiting for the part to come in. Viking Refrigerators is one of the best ones a person could get. The biggest features would be its reliability and functionality.

Bought a home with all-Viking appliances. They LOOK heavy duty, and the range certainly is. Problem is, they dont work as well or have many features available on more popular consumer brands like GE, KitchenAid, etc., that cost much, much less. Our Viking range has racks that are impossible to pull out. In our other home, our GE Monogram has beautiful ball-bearing shelves that glide fully in or out with ease. The Viking fridge has shelves and compartments that are all cracked, even though its pretty new. It beeps once in a while for no apparent reason (the door is CLOSED! ); its slow to make ice, and has no ice or water through the door. Seriously? Why would anyone pay thousands for this junk when other brands have better features, more durability and cost far less to service?

The current situation with Viking is an oven relay that has been backordered for over six weeks. Considering the poor quality of Viking appliances, their parts department should be overstocked. The Viking refrigerator is even worse. Egg bin door broken. Deli drawer (big drawer on bottom) broken twice. Have not replaced it yet because it costs over $500 for this plastic piece. Never will I buy Viking again and I tell anyone and everyone not to do so.

Our Viking refrigerator stopped working. Then the oven that we chose worked
Our Viking refrigerator stopped working. Then the oven that we chose worked for a month and stopped working, too. We had technicians coming back and forth with new parts for three times, but it never worked. And it took a while, from February until October, until Viking decided to give us a new one. We have a new oven now and its working. The refrigerator is also working now, so Im happy. But I was three weeks without it and it was a nightmare. The delivery of the part took forever and I didnt know what was causing the delay, especially with something so important like a refrigerator. When I was talking with the company that Viking recommended me to call, they said that we had to wait, that the delay was not on them, and that it was Viking that was taking forever to deliver the part. We also have an issue with the dishwasher. It’s not working properly because it’s not drying the dishes. But I haven’t called and made a complain about it because the repair took so long with the oven and the refrigerator. So our Viking experience hasn’t been good at all. It was frustrating and more than challenging. We thought we had the best appliances when we got Viking. But my husband and I were talking and we said that if we move, Viking would not be the brand we’re gonna choose.

Ive known of Vikings brand reputation for 20 years and although I was looking at a few others, Viking had a better price point for entry. However, the dealer didnt set expectations of timeline for delivery very well and the project was contingent on that so we could build countertops and finished cabinets. It had taken a couple of months to deliver the products, which was longer than the three to five weeks reported on their website. It forced us to live somewhere else for a couple of months so that was not good and we wouldnt do that again for sure.Afterwards, we wanted some minor adjustments done so we called and had somebody sent out right away. A lot of times, thats undervalued because I could have voided the warranty if I had a local repair shop come and fix it. But Viking made all the final adjustments and thats a huge benefit of the product. Its the best takeaway so far as that service aspect and after using the range for four months, the quality seems great too.

We got a Viking fridge as it had good reviews and we like the configuration
We got a Viking fridge as it had good reviews and we like the configuration of the doors and the depth. The quality is really great and the vegetable crisper drawer keeps things fresh longer. Theyve been great at Eastbank appliances where we bought it. Its all have been a good experience, I would do it again.

Our fancy refrigerator was replaced 3 times before we had a fully functioning refrigerator. First the doors did not align. Second and third time the ice maker did not work and finally on the third attempt the refrigerator install was completed.
