My husband was looking into a whole bunch of different brands and Viking was a little less expensive but just as good quality. Its been great and I like having all the space in it. However, Im waiting for them to call me back because the fridge and freezer arent side-by-side as the fridge is pushed back a little bit. Im waiting for them to contact us to schedule the installers to come back and fix it.

The Vikings Range was already in my fourth house when I bought it in September 2015. The range, including the oven, gets hot super super fast and that concerns me because it cooks food so fast. When I scramble eggs, the estimated time is half of what it would normally take. Im concerned about burning and fires so I have to watch it. Its almost short of a microwave, and because of that it creates potential danger.

Im sitting here frustrated and angry as my Viking refrigerator has done the same thing as the person who reviewed before me. As of the other day I heard a grinding noise and now my food was all thawed in the freezer and my refrigerator does not seem to be cold. I cant tell you the amount of times this refrigerator (in fact my VIKING trash compactor, gas cooktop and refrigerator) have been serviced over the years. I would never purchase another VIKING appliance based on my experience. I know the repair folks are happy for the business but each time they come out I cringe as VIKING repair parts are as outrageously priced as their appliances!

I got my Viking package at Best Buy when they had a Buy three things and get one for free promo. I got an oven, a cooktop, refrigerator and a dishwasher. The French-Door oven is the best Ive ever had. Its unbeatable and the ease of use is incredible. The stove top and the refrigerator are also fabulous. The refrigeration is perfect. Im very picky about ice makers but the one I have is great. It makes sufficient amount of ice and the ice is hard and lasts forever. But I cant stand the dishwasher and I want to upgrade it. Its a piece of garbage and I cant believe Viking would even put their name on it. Its been a huge disappointment, phasing me out of plastic. I called an issue on the dishwasher and the reps were very helpful. Apart from that, the refrigerator, the oven and the cooktop are great and I love them.

The builders of our home had already selected Viking, and we had seen the Viking appliances at a friend’s place and we were very happy with the appliances, so there was no regret. Most of our appliances are from Viking and I had to contact their customer service for the registration of the appliances. I had trouble registering the products once we occupied the house, and that was resolved. The customer service team was very helpful. They knew exactly what my request was and they were able to help me register the products. There were a couple of times it took me a while to connect to the customer service, though. The quality of our Viking refrigerator is great and it is easy to use. I like that the configuration of the compartments could be changed. There are many configurations that I could do to suit the container size that I am storing in the refrigerator. Thats the biggest plus for me. All the products are from Viking, so they are all coordinated. They blend very well together in the kitchen. Viking products are durable and they last for ages, so I’m very happy that we’ve made the right choice. Overall, our experience has been great.

We have a 2 year old Viking range that unfortunately required service. We called Viking and they gave us 2 companies that they recommended. Oceanic Repair was one of them. Not to sound silly but living by the water made me choose them over the other one. They did such a great job I wanted to let others know. They went through all of our appliances with us, I feel like we got a lesson instead of a service call. I saw a lot of bad press about Viking, I no longer agree with most of it. We now understand the reasons why our range was built as it is and now that were are using it with our new found understanding, our level of joy has gone through the roof. Remember the internet is full of people who have had issues, most people forget to say the good things as well. I would buy a Viking again and if it needed service I know who to call.

Viking Refrigerators came in with the house that we bought. My ref is the double-door open and I love that I can open both doors and see everything. Theres no division and I can put whatever I want in the refrigerator part. And I like the presence of it. I also have a Viking range and a Viking dishwasher and I love my range. Ive had the range for less than a year and there were all these things wrong with it. We had to have the repair people out. I purchased it through Abt and they did not have a repair person out for six weeks. I was without a stove over Thanksgiving and up to about a week before Christmas. I was not happy. Abt said those stoves are solid. But theyre not reliable quality machines. Im very upset with the whole thing. Now we purchased a Viking convection, that we cooked a little bit. But its not the same. So Im not happy with it. I would appreciate a call from Viking. I should be given some kind of five-year warranty on this because I dont know whats going to happen. I dont trust the machine.

My Viking lettering on the face plate to set the knobs and buttons to has been wiped off and now we do not know what temps we have set at or any of the other functions such as self-cleaning. We used standard Windex to regularly clean the oven face and eventually the lettering just dissolved. We had Viking replace the plate at no cost and with great hassle through Friedmans appliances and the second time we requested another plate they just blew us off. They would not even order it through Viking because they said it was discontinued. I will Never buy another Viking appliance as long as I live - I am a chef and cook at least 5 times a week. This has been extremely frustrating.

I owned a 48-inch Thermador that we bought 20 years ago. Some of the burners were going out, and so we started researching for a new one. I bought my Viking range on the 27th of July. When I got my range, I never got a manual. I called and spoke with a gal. She told me I could download it. Its like 30 something pages. I paid $12,000 for a range and theyre telling me I need to download 30 something pages for me to have a manual? After fighting with me, she said she would have someone send me a manual. But Ive never received a manual. I like my range though and I definitely like it better than my Thermador. Its easier to clean too.

Purchased Viking 48 wide by side in 2002. Compressor went out within 6 months, thankfully was under warranty. There was a door recall a few years later AND then another recall for those doors! The company that replaced the doors are familiar with Viking fridges and were able to to be somewhat helpful, suggesting we not place anything within 8 inches of any of the interior vents. We have NEVER been able to get the temp right. We have never been able to keep our fruits and veggies in the produce drawers as they become frozen. If we turn the temp down the milk goes bad, etc. Several of interior the plastic parts have broken under normal use: handle portion of ice maker drawer broke off in my hand, lid of bottom meat/produce drawer snapped off. Now the fridge lights have gone out (all simultaneously.) Try going to the Viking site to find a manual or worse yet parts. Everything there is SO difficult! They sent us a manual and I was able to download two, but none of them show the same control panel as what we have, since when there was a door recall, we received a new control panel as well... I feel sorry for the people that work for Viking. I will never purchase another Viking product. We purchased a high end Thermador range and KitchenAid Micro-Convection oven the same year and have had no problems with those appliances!

I am a general contractor and custom home builder and also own a remodeling company. We are in the building business and one of our primary vendor reps here in North Carolina is Appliance World. We do quite a bit of business with them and the relationship from them and getting to know them is how we heard about Viking. We have a client that goes through the design process and they are assisted by Appliance World with the selection of their appliances. We work with them four days a week with our clients visiting their location. Theyve obviously stood behind Viking and have a showroom and merchandising set up. Recently they downsized their showroom and kept the Viking line pretty prominent with still having 10 or 15 other lines. We bought about $20,000 worth from Viking the last couple of months and so far, so good. The registration online is great. From a consumer standpoint, some of the information can be hard to extrapolate from the website. For selling $8,000 to $40,000 refrigerators, there could be some better photos and better highlights of what makes the company different. That market has become quite crowded and most folks have some brand loyalty, whether its Sub-zero or Dacor or some of the others. Viking could do a better job of letting the consumer know via the website what those features and benefits are and where variance is between them and the next guy.

We have all Viking appliances. We have the convection oven, microwave, dishwasher and range. All are great. We had been going to open houses and a lot of the model homes have Viking appliances. I got a Viking refrigerator for the high-end performance and the quality is very good. However, I had gone to an authorized Viking dealer and the people there were not so great. I would not recommend that store ever again. It was just a regular store in Pleasanton. They sold many different high-end brands but we had already chosen Viking so we went in and just said we wanted Viking. The sales guy was fine but once we got to the order phase, the manager of the store dropped the ball and didn’t place the order. They told me it would be two weeks and it ended up being about seven weeks before the appliances arrived. We were under a full kitchen remodel so all the old appliances were gone, and it was the holidays. I had to get involved with the corporate office before they did anything about it. Also, one of the burners on the range isn’t working very well now so I have to call for service on that. Its a six-burner stove and its only a month old. But I hear it’s pretty common with gas burners to do that. Other than that, I would buy a Viking again. I’m pretty satisfied right now.

Viking VMOS200 died after 7 years of very little use - repairs quoted in the $200-$250 range... not worth it. So now had to find exact same size replacement because of its existing Viking Trim Kit ($400+ by itself) and which matches other trim kits in kitchen. Anyway, only new Viking unit that fits our trim kit is the VMOS201 unit - at a fixed price of $689 plus local tax. Took old unit apart and discovered its basically a Sharp 2.0 cubic foot R530ES model... also obsolete. Note that the current Viking VMOS201 is also Sharp inside.Did some research and found that Frigidaire uses the same Sharp box, model FGMO205KF - and its half the cost of the Viking/Sharp VMOS201. All you give up is the heavier Viking stainless steel door and the Viking emblem. And if you must have the Viking emblem to match other appliances, just remove it from your old unit (use a hot hair dryer and saw the adhesive away with dental floss) and swap with the Frigidaire label. Hope this help other folks that dont want to pay $400. Too much for a commodity Sharp microwave.

The Viking refrigerator is well-lit and well-designed. The only criticism I have is that when we open up the bottom drawer and let the icebox fill up to the top, as we pull out that drawer that has the icebox, the little metal piece that you flip up and down to turn off or on the icemaker very often grabs a roll of ice cube, shoots them into the back of the refrigerator, and they come flying out underneath the freezer compartment. If I was 30 years old picking up the cubes it wouldn’t bother me as much, but Im 70 years old and having to lean over and pick up the ice cubes when they fly across the floor is not something Im enjoying. What weve been doing is once the icebox is filled, we flip the metal bar up and we leave it off until the box is fairly empty and then put it back up again. I don’t think it has to do with a malfunction and that they could fix that without redesigning the refrigerator. If someone asks about Viking, I would tell them to consider making sure that they look at the design of each of the refrigerators and make sure that this particular design is something theyre gonna be aware of in case they buy this model. This is a problem Im having with this model and maybe another model doesn’t have that problem.

I like my Viking Range very much. I looked at Wolf and a couple of other brands and I just liked Viking’s clean look. I also liked that fact that I could get the eight-burner without the griddle. I didnt want the griddle and not all of them have that option. Theres one feature about it that is completely lacking. I dont understand who designed this range. Theres no clock or timer on it and thats the goofiest thing Ive ever seen. Why wouldnt I have a timer on this when I can time my cakes and everything that Im cooking and a clock so I can see?We bought the range from an appliance store and we were very pleased with our buying experience. The reps were professional. They delivered on time. The price was as quoted. I was very happy with the service. Everything was good. The range is wonderful and I would recommend it. I love cooking and baking on it but it needs a timer.

I have a 60 professional quality Viking freestanding oven & range. Its never worked correctly - the oven fails with one or two uses, and this started within 24 months of original installation. Ive spent over $1,500 on repairs (Viking said it wasnt under warranty, though the warranty clearly states THREE YEARS) and it still doesnt work. The Viking authorized repairman told us this week Viking is not willing to take responsibility for their product and theyve suggested you have the oven wiring replaced at your cost....I am so frustrated with Vikings treatment of our customers that Im considering not working for them any longer. This is the one and only online product review I have ever written, and in spite of the many that precede mine, I feel compelled to chime in and advise other consumers to avoid Viking refrigerators (and dishwashers too, for that matter) like the plague!! We spent 2 1/2 yrs. on a complete state-of-the-art rebuild of our official historic landmark Victorian, to which we returned in July, 2007. As a Realtor who specializes in the sale of luxury properties in the San Francisco Bay Area. I had been recommending top-of-line Viking products to clients who needed to refurbish and stage their homes for resale. Today, I feel badly for ever having done that!We have a built-in custom paneled upper/lower Viking fridge that acted up immediately. Within a matter of months, the fresh produce in the lowest pullout semi-froze and had to be discarded. I believe (but am not certain) that special heater was installed under warranty to prevent this from happening again. Before the year was out, another problem (forget the details) and was fixed. Then, right after the warranty expired, the contents of the freezer melted and we paid for the installation of another heater... At some point thereafter, water from the fridge started pouring out onto the hardwood kitchen floor. Thank God we were in town when this happened and able to towel up the leakage for a few days until another heater could be installed. The entire bottom of the unit was frozen solid, and the floor boards immediately against the unit had warped.. Under duress, Viking paid for this repair. Finally, within the past year, the cooling of the refrigerator compartment ceased and we were without refrigeration for 4 or 5 days before -- you guessed it -- yet another heater could be installed (the cooling ducts had frozen). Additionally, we got a recall notice for the defective front door. The dealer who enthusiastically sold the Viking appliances to us stated in response to my expression of distress & disgust: Demand a replacement from Viking. Theyve had nothing but problems with those refrigerators (and dishwashers) -- they suck! I requested a replacement, without success... As for the dishwasher, while all the interior components had to be replaced and I must basically hand wash everything and use the unit for sterilization purposes only, at least its performed better than the refrigerator. Enough said!

Everything in the kitchen is Viking. Ive seen Viking at my other friends house and Ive heard good things about it. And when we went through the website, they gave us several different options and Viking came on top. What I found it interesting is we had different experiences with different pieces. The dishwasher does not dry dishes very well. I dont know whether Im not very familiar with it or if that I have to read the instructions. Also, from a volume point of view, it feels much smaller than an LG or other ones. It looks the same size as everybody elses, but its just bulkier. The range that was put in did not connect the gaps right and it was leaking. I had to bring a plumber back in in order to figure out why it smelled gas in the kitchen. on the other hand, the microwave installation went okay but the techs had a really hard time with installing the double oven. It is too heavy and the installers didnt have the proper equipment and proper training to do it right. We bought the fridge about a month ago. The first time they got the wrong refrigerator, then the right refrigerator, and they had to change it to a new one. They sent the wrong size again, and then they had to come back a week later with the right size. So, from a responding to a customer, Viking has been good. However, we had a problem with the unit. We lost all of the Freon. I was happy about the fact that they were gonna send somebody to repair it. But Viking sent a new one and replaced the refrigerator. From that service point of view, it was very good. The installation is part of what was wrong with it. The first company that installed the fridge, within about two weeks we lost the Freon in it. The next guy that came in told us that it was the way they installed it that probably caused the damage, but it was replaced. When the next guy came in, they hemmed and hawed a bit when they were putting it in but eventually, everything went in okay.

Viking is a well-known name and I made the assumption that since it was extremely expensive, it would be good. The good part is that its nice looking, it heats up quick and it functions well. Unfortunately, we have a warranty repair situation thats still ongoing. The oven has a cooling fan which is quite aggressive, so anytime the oven goes on, theres a fan that blows air from behind the oven to keep the electronics cool, so it really throws off a lot of heat. The problem is as the oven is warming up and/or cooling down, the cooling fan starts to make something in the oven rattle quite loudly. So at a certain point in time, it’ll start to rattle for about a minute and then as the oven warms up, the rattle will go away. Youll get the same thing on the cool down. After the oven is shut off, it’ll come on for some period of time. We had the fan replaced under warranty last week and it didn’t fix the problem. But the store where I purchased the Viking put me in touch with the independent appliance repair place that would do the warranty work, and the repair place was prompt in doing their work. So my experience has been good except for the part that its not fixed yet.

I was looking for higher end appliances, so we decided to go with Viking and have had nothing but problems. The refrigerators doors had a crack in it. The doors were not aligned. The freezer is always kind of opening and not sealing properly. Its a bit noisy. Then there was indenting, and this is the second time it happened in the fridge. I dont know why. I realized I have an extended 10-year warranty with PC Richard so I had the guy come out again, and he said he had to order a bunch of parts, and he placed the order. I hope that is being handled. As far as my range, its horrible. Im always having trouble. It is a very high-end stove that the burners half the time arent working. Its not holding the proper temperature inside. I feel like its a limit. I would put it on 400 but it only went to 300. Viking replaced the burners a couple of times. They come and fix it, but it reoccurs. Theres something wrong with the actual range itself. And then, when I called Viking because of everything that happened to have it serviced again because they canceled my last service due to the COVID, they told me Im out of warranty now. But its the same problem Ive been having since I got the range. Ive called in again but nobody has gotten back to me. They were supposed to push it up to management. I made a complaint with the Better Business Bureau regarding whats going on.

I purchased an entire kitchen of Viking appliances minus the fridge. The appliances were installed approximately 3 months ago, but have never been used because we are just moving back into the house. So far, we have had a repairman out for the stove, the microwave and most recently was told that the wine cooler has to have the control panel replaced. Are you kidding me? I haven’t had the first glass of chilled wine. I called corporate and was told that sometimes it happens. Not much concern was shown. They made sure that I knew that the cooler has a 2-year warranty. I used an online Viking dealer to purchase the range and the sales was very good. But the dealer sent out a really bad delivery crew and it cost a whole set of headaches. They sent the wrong person to do the installation and left a scratch on the floor. Ive been using my Viking range for six months and I like the look of it. However, it makes a large banging noise every time I turn on the oven and they told me that its normal. Also, its a product thats so expensive but weve already had one issue where two of the burners didnt light. So they came and fixed the burners within a week. Their customer service team was fantastic and I had a really good experience with them.

We purchased a VCRB536 Refridgerator and separate matching freezer for a kitchen remodel. Our Subzero 532 was operating perfectly although it was over 20 years old. The Viking door hinge spring broke, maybe $ 1000 to replace a $ 10 spring. Warranty coverage was denied. Now, the door bins are falling apart. Nothing heavy in them, but the ALL METAL door bins have plastic end caps that are cracking. Now I need to be careful the door doesnt fall off, but also watch the bins and contents falling when I open the door. Im very disappointing in this product and lack of support.

My wife got this unit thinking we were upgrading from a Samsung. To my surprise this unit was horrible. Forget about the fact of how small it was, but if you put eggs next to the ice maker you ended up with frozen ones!! Since this was a French style with the split doors we were blessed to have our jarred fresh garlic freeze when the unit was set at 40 degrees. After the technician came out the second time he told us that this unit with the Viking name was in fact either a Maytag or a KitchenAid. Nice!! Im off on a mission to purchase a Sub Zero - never to buy Viking products again!!!

We’ve had Viking for years and thats the reason we got them the second time. We like the stove for the way it’s set up. The refrigerator’s open a lot and the temperatures on it have always stayed the same unless it’s real hot out. The new one has got the LEDs in it, which is nice. The doors in it are a little bit nicer than the old ones we had. We bought the items over the internet and it was real good. At this day and age, it seems like most of the time you buy something, it’s good for three years, and it goes to hell on you. We try to buy quality, and it shows. Viking has been a good product. The stainless steel is nice. The only thing we didn’t have last time was a dishwasher. This time we bought one. My wife had used the dishwasher once and it worked good. It’s real quiet.

I had a Jenn-Air range but I didn’t like the way it cooked on the gas. A couple of my cousins and family members have Viking ranges and I also researched on them. I liked the reputation that I read about them and bought a few things - a range, a washer and dryer, and a refrigerator. The Viking range is much better. It cooks much faster. It’s of good quality but the only thing I’m having a problem with is the grates in the oven. I can’t get it in and out easily. It sticks. Also, they didn’t explain clearly that I bought the non-self-clean oven. They didn’t go through everything for me. They didn’t tell me the ins and the outs of each of the ranges. If I could exchange this, I would get the other one.

The Viking range is a quality product but we had a very rough start with it
The Viking range is a quality product but we had a very rough start with it. We got a $10,000 range and its not a cheap item by any chance. But the handle on the small oven door was not mounted properly. It was crooked. And then, the igniter on both ovens didnt work properly. One oven didnt work at all. It would get hot once and then, wouldnt, and would turn off. And the other oven would click, click, click a whole bunch of times every time it went on an on-off cycle. So were not too thrilled. They should do a better job inspecting and testing the product and shouldnt be delivering defective items. In the Vikings website, their request for help is broken. I went in the customer support area and requested help. It triggered an automated email that told me that they were going to look into my question and respond soon. I also got a second email that was an error, that said some other email was undeliverable. And then, I never heard back. So Im guessing that the email was my request going to some support on the Viking side and for some reason, it didnt go through. It was a fiasco. When I told the vendor who sold us the oven of the problem, they were quick to respond. They gave me the name of the local repair guy who provides support for Viking. They were scheduled to come within a couple of days but they didnt come, call or follow up. So a week later, I called them and they sent somebody but didnt fix it. They ordered a part, and two weeks later, theyve never called us back. So I had to call them back. I escalated and they sent somebody who was sharp. He had to adjust the igniter. It wasnt sparking close enough to the burner so the burner wasnt lighting up.To make the long story short, the salesperson at the store should have called us and followed up to make sure our problem got fixed but never did. They did not even check that the range was delivered. Then the repair people dropped the ball and never followed up with us. So it took us almost a month from when it was delivered to when we were able to use the oven. Other than that, everything is working fine. We love the Viking range. Its a very nice stove and the cooktop is great. Its nice to work with and hopefully will last a long time. Were happy with it but their support system is pretty badly broken.

Its wide so its easy access in and out. I like the different drawers and the accessibility to the refrigeration part. Plus, you can adjust the temperature and humidity. The wide shelf space also makes it very convenient. Overall, it’s been easy, manageable, and it sits perfectly in our kitchen.

We bought the new model of Viking Refrigerator that was a little less expensive than Subzero and got better reviews. We like it and my favorite is its lighting feature. Viking Refrigerator is okay but we’re not blown away. We noticed that the icemaker doesn’t know when to stop making ice, it just overflows. It does all right keeping things cold but sometimes it’s freezing something and sometimes it’s not. It’s just bizarre, it’s like some things in a certain area of the refrigerator tend to freeze. Almost not solid frozen but get close to frozen. It looks great though. Its aesthetically pleasing. I have a cheap refrigerator in Florida that performs the same. Nonetheless, the Viking dealer was great. We got all of our appliances through them. If someone would ask about Viking, Id tell them to do the research and really find out what products work the best. Viking is a good line but I think refrigerators are overrated.

However, its ice machine had not been working and Ive had to have it repaired three times in six months which doesnt make me happy though I didnt have to pay for the repairs. But I love the refrigerators look and quality, and its got beautiful lighting. Shelving is more than enough for me and my husband though it wasnt as big as I thought it was. I wanted a classic gas stove and didnt want one with computers. The Viking range was simple and that was why I got it even though it was not as good as Wolf. But I had a question about the product because it was so hard to see one. I got the cheapest 30-inch range and the showrooms had none. I was told by a Ferguson person that there was two of this one and so she called and said, Oh, ones not supposed to be there, they have upgraded it. I called Vikings to find out what they changed because the price was lower. The rep was short with me and she wasnt the best customer service. Also, when I was buying it, I was told there was nobody to service it in Williamsburg. I told them that Port City does and so the rep called them and they go, Yeah, we work on them. They even put it down on my sales receipt. The day after I got it, I roasted a bunch of vegetables and there was moisture in between the glass on the oven door. It didnt go away for four days. I called Ferguson and they called Port City who sent a guy out. My stove has a middle burner thats oblong and its one of the lowest BTUs. This one wouldnt light like the other one. The repair guy said that it was the same as the round one but there were more holes and that was normal. The installers said they were gonna replace the glass thing in the middle. But its never done it again and now, Im worried and Im afraid to say, Dont fix it cause theyll say later, Oh, you wouldnt let us fix it. The moisture does dissipate eventually and I have faith in my repair guy that hell do it right cause Ive known him for years. But since the day I got the oven until now, I still dont have the part. Other than that, everything seems fine to me.

Its a New Year but I have an old and all to common complaint about a Viking Professional 36 Dual Fuel Range with an electric oven Model VDSC3676BSS. The ignitors for the gas range did not work when the stove was installed in 2007. They were replaced under warranty. Four years later, the spark module has failed again. I can see from all the post that this is far from unusual. I cannot recommend Viking appliances to anyone. Quite the opposite. Save yourself money and trouble and buy another brand.

Its heavy but we got it moved in all right and the installation was easy. We switched over from electric to gas and we really like the gas stove part of it because it feels industrial. Weve been real happy with it and the only issue weve had is a light bulb that burned out. We havent had anybody locally to come out and repair it yet. Weve been trying to contact the people at the place we bought it from or the local shops that work on Viking but we havent had heard back from them. They suggest we dont replace the bulb because its still under warranty, and so were waiting.

Also, the salespeople there told us that they are actually made for Viking by another company because people want the Viking line and matching appliances. I wanted to get a Viking Refrigerator for its quality. I like the brand, thats why I purchased a second refrigerator. But Im not happy with the grid up top. When I got the first refrigerator, the grid was higher and the height of the cabinet above the fridge was based on that grid. But now this one is lower, so now I can see a gap between the cabinet and the top of the fridge. Their quality is just not as good as it used to be. I still like it, but Im not happy with the way they changed things. The fridge has the same features and size as the first one. But I liked the way the light didnt dim on and off when I open the fridge. Its drawers and cooler are also different and better. In terms of my experience with the Viking dealer, I’ve dealt with them in the past and I purchased my baking products from them originally. I would have been happy if they were more knowledgeable about the grid on the new fridge. I feel like it ruined my kitchen. I designed the original kitchen around my appliances so it doesn’t make sense to me why they would shorten the grid up top. My experience with the Viking Refrigerator would be nicer if it lasted more than 10 years for that amount of money. Other than that, it was fine.

The Viking range was so pretty. I got one thats jet black with rose gold accent. Its one of my fancy splurges for the kitchen. My house was being renovated and the designer did all of the ordering. The installation of the range was easy. They had a nice team come in and set everything up and level it. The range works really well. I like the fact that youre not actually sitting the pot on the burner. Youre sitting it on the little metal thing above the burner. Its set up pretty high from the burner. Theres an indentation in the burner so the flame is set down in the indentation, which means that it keeps you further away from the flame. You have to work very hard to burn yourself. Thats a really nice safety feature. The range also works quickly. There are lots of options on how to set the temperature. I like the fact that the knobs light up when a particular burner is being used because its also easy to know if a burner is on. If the pilot light didnt light, you dont have to worry about gas flowing because the light is on will tell you which burner is active.

Our new house came with the upgraded package of Viking, but the range never worked. The stove wouldn’t light and we couldn’t keep it lit. It took us almost a year of repeated people coming out. We couldn’t get it right and it was because of multiple things. When they put it in, they got the wrong backing and it took three different people just to get that right. It was a huge relief when Viking replaced the stove for us. I like the stove, but when its on the blower is so strong that I can’t put a low heat on my stove top. If I have the oven on, I can’t put low on the burners because the blower blows into the burners. The repair people that we had were polite and professional and I dont fault them in any way. It was one of them that helped me get the new range. But Im disappointed and I will never buy a Viking again.

Bought a brand newly built house with all new Viking appliances. The first week we owned the house, the doors on the appliance needed to be repaired. Then we had an electric short due to the range needing to be required. Approximately after 1 month of ownership, the defroster in the freezer died causing the refrigerator to shut down. We had to manually defrost the freezer every day for over a week before we had a functioning refrigerator. In August, 6 months after installation, the lights in the freezer stopped working. 3 months later, 4 service calls later, we were told the lights couldnt be repaired. Even heard the Viking tech tell the service guy on the phone there was nothing more he could do. Oh yeah, sometime between August and Nov, the ice maker died. So we have a very expensive attractive piece of garbage that isnt as good as our LG that was less than 1/3 the cost. We would like a refund in order to purchase a different appliance but do not expect that. A replacement is being requested.

I like that it’s easy to clean and take apart. I like the aesthetics, the way it feels and looks, as well and it seems good quality. Its industrial quality is my favorite. I bought a new home and theres a Viking Range in it. It took a while for me to get used to the idea of having a convection oven because I’ve never had that before but I like it a lot. It seems to be really good quality. But I’m not exactly enjoying the cleaning process of the surface on the top where the burners are. It’s got the grills under every burner and it’s not fun to clean all that if there are spills or things on top of the cooking surface. There are way too many little parts to clean and I was coming off of just a solid surface cooktop which was pretty easy to maintain. Other than that, I’m enjoying the gas. I like the fact that the burners light instantly and get hot faster than an electric stove. Also, when I had a service guy out from Viking for the door of my brand-new dishwasher that had a broken latch on the side, he played around with the oven, too. When it was running, the convection stops and starts, and stops and starts. I asked him if that was normal and he said yes. But he still made sure it was working right and tinkered with it a little bit.

My hope was that a big investment in appliances would mean less maintenance headache down the line and the Viking name will preserve the resale value for my house. Unfortunately, Ive had nothing but trouble since. Ive had multiple issues with the fridge (4 axial fans replaced, Defrost terminator replaced, defective bolt in fridge door replaced), the freezer (rust on the ice drawer), both dishwashers (electronic card/display already replaced on one and currently needs replacement on the other, Diverter valve replaced on the other), the microwave (electronic card/display currently needs replacement. It is worth mentioning that the appliances werent in use until late January 2017 since the house was still under construction. When all these issues started, Ive contacted your customer service number and was referred to one of your certified repair services, Executive Appliance Service in Garden Grove, CA. They can confirm all the issues mentioned above as they made NUMEROUS service calls to my house. I was about to call them again to replace the electronic display for both the dishwasher & the microwave when I realized that the amount of times Ive had to service those appliances is excessive & abnormal. Ive had to purchase a very basic appliance package for a guest house at the same time Ive purchased the Viking package and I havent had a single issue with them.Thats why I decided to to share my concerns with you and ask what could be done for me. Did I purchase what would be called a lemon in car terminology? Can you send someone to take a look at them? How can you help me with all the issues I mentioned & restore my trust in your brand? Thank you very much for your help & understanding. Looking forward to receiving your response.Their response was to cover parts only for the dishwasher. They wouldnt do anything about the microwave and said that rust inside the freezer is a cosmetic issue therefore would only give me %15 off their ice drawer which came out to $218.37. When I said that Id want them to cover parts and labor for the dishwasher & microwave, they refused. The appliances I purchased are most definitely defective. There are many similar complaints on the Better Business Bureau website. STAY AWAY AT ALL COST!

But the installation went well. The range is consistent and it cooks great. The BTUs in all the burners work great and cook evenly. I bake a lot and it just performs well. I’ve referred Viking to a couple of other people.

I build houses and I recommend Viking to all my customers. However, I didnt like the range that I got from them that I bought from Nebraska Furniture Mart. The handle on it broke and they sent out a service guy to fix it. I took a video with my phone of exactly what was wrong so there was no reason for them to come out without the part. However, the guy from Viking still came out without the part that he needed. Then, two months later, he came out with the part and fixed the unit. For three months, I had to go without my middle burner thermostat controller working, which was unacceptable for a $7,000 stove. Ive given you guys countless customers when I build homes. How am I going to be able to recommend Viking after the experience I just had?

Weve had the Viking refrigerator since ’07 when we remodeled the kitchen.
Weve had the Viking refrigerator since ’07 when we remodeled the kitchen. Unfortunately, weve had a number of issues with the unit since we bought it. The compressor went out within the first three years and although it was covered, the hassle of having a refrigerator not working was not desirable. We also had something else similar go out that we had to cover labor on. Then we had an icemaker go out and it got replaced. Then back in July, it stopped refrigerating. We had a leak in a tube for the Freon. This tube system had a little pan that had water in it so it corroded and that was where it leaked. So we had a guy come in and do a repair on it. But that was only a temporary repair. In August, it failed again. We realized that the unit was still covered for parts although not for labor because it was a six-year parts and labor then a 12-year parts warranty. At that point, the refrigerator was just under 11 years. So we called about having the part covered but the guy that we had through that one repair that failed said the he couldnt submit that to the factory because he was not factory-authorized. So I looked up an authorized repair center which was located in Wisconsin, about 60 miles away from us. But we were told that at that point, our warranty was null and void because the repair was done by an unauthorized repair guy and he did something that the factory would not have authorized. When we contacted Viking, they confirmed that the repair that was done, which was putting a sealer into some Freon, was not really authorized and it could cause other parts to fail. I also talked to two technicians and when the customer service person came back, they offered us a different unit, a brand new unit, at a 25% discount. But it was still gonna be a lot of money. Plus the new unit did not have some of the features we had. It did not even have a water dispenser. Then I contacted this other repair guy. He said that he was pretty sure he knew what was wrong. He came back and fixed it, and its been working fine ever since. Hailey, from the unit factory, contacted us and she was a very nice person. My wife explained to her what had happened and that we were just gonna stay with what we had and see how it goes. So the refrigerator had four different repairs and the door ripped on it as well. There is no perfect but you would think some of these things would be more long-lasting than what they had been. The design is really poor unfortunately. While we like the unit, were disappointed with the quality of the high-end appliance that we paid a premium price for. We initially paid somewhere in the $5,000 range for it and the fact that it has gone out so many times is disappointing.

We purchased our Viking 48 built in in 2005 and during the next two years, had (11) service calls to either fix the ice maker or the temperature control module. The ice maker never functioned properly and we finally replaced it at a cost of over $550. Their service rep. actually argued and yelled at my wife on the phone because the item was out of warranty. How in the hell can any company stand for that type of customer relations and expect people like us to recommend their products?? But there is a light at the end of the tunnel and there are some companies that still know the business of good customer relations and that is Wolf / Sub Zero. Point in fact, my double oven control unit went out. We called the Wolf service center and asked them if there was anything they could do for us to minimize the cost of replacing the module at $760.00. They immediately said that they would waive the cost of the parts but we would have to pay a service fee of $125. DONE DEAL. By the way, the unit was ten years old. I tell this story to everyone who will listen, perhaps Viking will, someday. To be fair, I did find out that there was a recall on the refrigerator door pins that could break and the door could fall off. I called and they were very nice and will cover the replacement costs and parts 100%, which they should on any safety recall.

This is the 2nd time since owning my Viking range that Ive experienced TERRIBLE service - the first time was when the range was brand new - it took months to get a new door. And now 2-1/2 yrs later the door has fallen apart AGAIN - service call started on 1/3/2018 - Service came out to assess the issue on 1/8/2018 - and NOTHING SINCE - Ive called on 1/11/2018 and 2/13/2018 both times never getting a call back with a status as promised. I must say that for what this range cost I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in the quality and the companies that provide service for Viking products. I owned other brands of ranges over the past 20 years and never once needed service.

We were looking for a new refrigerator and I looked online and found out that Viking was the leader in kitchen appliances but nobody seemed to really know anything about their refrigeration. Then we went to a couple of places here in town, I researched it on their website and we fell in love with their ref so, we ordered it. This is my first Viking appliance. I had heard of Viking in the restaurant business and people seemed to be impressed. The quality of the product is excellent. The space is perfect. For the size that it is, it holds a lot of food and were really happy. When we build the new house, Ill probably buy two Viking refrigerators. The only problem we had, and this seems to be not specific to Viking, were the people. We like trying the new things on the market but things that last, and so, we were very pleased with this purchase. But the salespeople werent prepared. Theres more of a market here in San Diego but their salespeople just werent ready to sell it. Either they were too busy or weren’t educated. When we find something that we want, we usually are more educated than the sales people and that seems to be the case with their people. Its something that could still be improved.

We were doing a remodel addition to an old family cabin and when it came to looking at appliances, Viking had the right size, the configurations that we wanted, and it checked on the boxes. Plus, weve had a Viking stove for a very long time. However, weve had major issues with the refrigerator. Were not in a remote area, but its not as highly populated so getting service people out has caused delays. Were actually on our third Viking refrigerator. The first one had been damaged in shipping, and the shipping caused some issues because of the supply chain. Then it sat in our garage because of construction delays. When they came to unbox and install it, it had major physical damage, so we didnt go any further. It took a while to get one, but they found it, and then we had nothing but problems with that second one. Alarms were going off all the time, it wasnt holding, its cold in either side, the ice maker wasnt working, it was horrible. Weve had to throw massive amounts of food away because we bought all new stuff for the cabin so its been a pain. They had somebody come out, did a couple of things, it worked for a day, and then we have more issues. They replaced all these different parts to it and this took us quite a long time because the service company doesnt do repair. Finally, they realized that they would never be able to get it worked so they ordered us another one and that one was delivered and installed and its worked really well, except for the ice maker.I understand the delays in getting attention placed on our case. Im usually a pretty calm person, but I had to get a little nasty with the sales rep because I didnt feel like she was helping. The holidays are coming. We needed refrigeration in our house. It was difficult so I had to put my foot down and demand a loaner. She ended up coming through with that and then she said that I would have to pay for it as well as the delivery and installation. I told her I wont. It was a back and forth show. Also, every step of the way, somebody made a commission off of this and so they needed to come to the table to help a little more. We felt like we got a fair price, buying two Viking items and get a set of cookware free, and we got a free microwave, so we wanted to make this work. Plus, we have wood paneling for the doors. If we were to switch and go with a different brand, which we wanted to do, it would have been a major additional cost to us. Well, Viking has been responsive. Its a $10,000 refrigerator and so they need to go through what they need to do to make sure its working right before they scrap the whole thing. It was just really frustrating while it was all happening.

We wanted a high-end range. We needed something ultra dependable and something with great reviews. I cook a lot and I use good quality pots and pans. We use a lot of cast iron skillets and Le Creuset. Everything thats out there right now is even broken in the store. We went to Lowes a couple of times and the grates of some of their higher end ranges were snapped in the store. It was pretty dumb. Another big factor for us is we did not want a display board. Our previous couple ranges had that kind of electronic stuff and we wanted dials we could turn. We understand there are electronics in there but I dont need a pizza setting or anything like that. We bought the Viking range professional model so its an open burner and we love it. We are now calling it the turbo stove and turbo oven because the stuff cooks so fast. But we had to have a guy come out and check it because some of the igniters werent igniting right away on the stove. When we would turn it off, it would go poof and there is a big flash of flame. We had converted to propane. He checked everything and said it was fine. He explained something about the valve that lets the gas in is further back so we are gonna have that. Its not a problem though as it’s not dangerous. Its just something that had to get used to. And then the guy figured out what we could do where it wont poof. Right now, I have a Le Creuset on the stove and I’m making a bone broth. If I put the two back burners on the simmer function, it’s really nice and low. My broth simmers nicely. It kinda huffs but it doesn’t do that on the front burners. I got a huge stockpot on a front burner. It’s in the lowest setting and its beautiful. Our range works fantastically but it is different from what we were used to. Were adaptable though. We’re gladly working with it. Also, the range doesnt have a timer but Im okay with that. I baked a sourdough loaf this morning and it’s beautiful. The oven is consistently 25 degrees off according to my Amazon internal cheapo thermometer in there. But were also at 4,200 feet. As long as I know that its 25 degrees off, I can deal with that. Our last range was all digital and it was so unpredictable. Thats why we wanted something predictable. Our Viking range is, so far. It’s beautiful and it’s a work of art.

We purchased a full Viking Professional Kitchen - range, refrigerator, microwave oven, dish washer, hood. We have had at least one issue with everything (except the hood). We spent about $22,000 on appliances that are supposed to be high-end. What an absolute joke. My neighbor also has Viking appliances, same issues. Viking should be ashamed of their products and customer service. When you call to complain, their responses basically too bad if you dont have a warranty.

Weve had Viking for a long time in our family and the range fits with the design of our kitchen. We got it from a local dealer and they were easy to work with. However, the quality of the range has been a little bit surprising. For the price, Im surprised that weve had issues with the burners not working compared to other ranges weve owned from other manufacturers. Its a tough year because we bought the Viking range during COVID. We bought it last October but we couldnt get it until February or March. It was the same with our SubZero refrigerator. Its just the way it was last year. Our contractor put the range in and the ease of install was fine. They did the kitchen remodel and then, we redid counters and cabinets. The range heats up fast and even, and the stove and the burners work well. But the grates started showing wear. There are dings in it, like you dropped something on the grates or theyre torn off, and we hardly use it. The quality is not standing up to the price we paid for it. One thing I would like to have known is to burn it up before you try to cook something in it. I should have read the directions. We set off the smoke detectors. A sticker on the window might be a good idea. My wife had surgery and we had someone come to help my wife, and she was the one who used the oven first. The burners were easy to use. I had gas for the last 30 years so it was not hard so we didnt think about reading the instructions. We read them after we almost had the fire department called. Fortunately, we have good ventilation in the house and we have a Viking hood but that was what was expensive.

We liked the functionality of the Viking Ranges, the induction on one side, gas and griddle. When I was getting my range, it was quick because it was on the floor and they wanted to get it out as soon as possible. So through TA Appliances, I got it within a week or so. Then I had an appliance guy who came in, installed a power cord, and put it in for me. We use our stove quite a bit and in terms of functionality, it’s very good. But I ran into one problem that is currently being looked into. The ignition of my backburner is not coming on and not lighting that well. I called the TA Appliance guy who I got the range from and he set things up so that I was called by whoever the service team is here close to me. They were okay but some better communication as to what the problem was in the process would have been appreciated. I had to call a few times to really understand what the holdup was on getting parts. They said that they couldnt get parts over right away, but that wasnt communicated well.Other than that, my Viking range is fantastic. There are two ovens and theres a small oven on the right side. It would have been nice to get a second rack in there since we often have multiple things in there because of the conduction. There are three positions you can put the racks in but I couldnt find one. Theres none on the website or anywhere you can buy one. Itd be nice to grab some of those kind of accessories. But I managed to get a bamboo cutting board cover for the griddle and that worked out nicely.

I love the amount of space of my Viking refrigerator. It’s really good for an office. However, it wasn’t getting to the appropriate temperature. So, the serviceman came in and replaced the fan and something else. Those parts were not under warranty anymore, so we were looking at four years with the refrigerator. The freezer was working fine, but the two parts that he replaced didn’t do the trick. He had to come back, and then it was something that he needed to fix. He came out a couple of times before we finally got everything back up and running. So, we were without a refrigerator through most of the holidays, which was kind of a pain. And it made it hard to get him in. The serviceman was great. The only issue we had at one point was finding out when the parts were coming in. We waited and waited and finally, I called the serviceman and they said that they were having a hard time getting the parts. So, I ended up calling one of Vikings customer service numbers to find out what the issue was, and the part was in the following week. But there was this waiting time where we didn’t know anything, and it was because the part was taking forever to come in. Viking needs to set interaction between whoever provides the parts to the technician, and then the technician’s communication with who’s waiting on the part and the repair.

Purchased this 36 gas range in 2006 for over $6k. A week before Christmas, it broke down. Several parts were replaced by a reputable, local repair firm, but the key one is PJ030015, the 6 prong selector switch was not available. Called Viking and was told it has been discontinued since 2016. The customer service person kept telling me that sales had specials going on so I should contact them. Asked her if she would replace a $6k range because a $100 part wasnt available. This is totally unacceptable. The company should have an solution for this other than check eBay and Craigslist. Its just a fridge, and frankly a poorly designed product, that for some reason costs an order of magnitude more than others. My Viking is 19 years old but the first failures started in the first year. Shelf units and other plastic parts crack and break and the price of replacement is half the cost of a brand new fridge of another brand ($600 for a plastic drawer cover! - be warned!). Im about to haul my $15,000 fridge to the dump because the back is rusting out, it leaks water onto the floor whenever it defrosts, and the control panel no longer responds to key presses. Ive taken my fridge apart. Im a former VP of Engineering for a few product development companies and in my opinion there is nothing in this fridge to justify the price. Its just a fridge. Cheap electronics, poor mechanical design, and for some reason this company is able to charge a huge premium for their product and extortionist prices for replacement parts. Save your money! Buy something else!

We purchased a complete Viking kitchen which included a range top, downdraft hood, a dishwasher, a Dutch oven, the refrigerator and the convection microwave. We’re satisfied with everything except for the refrigerator because every time you open the freezer, the ice overflows to the floor and I think it’s a design flaw. It doesn’t happen every single time, but the ice builds up and theres no back on the refrigerator, so it goes straight down and falls on the floor. So, somebody has to get to the floor and pick up the ice cubes. But I like the digital controls of the fridge and everything else is fine. Im very surprised about this one item and I know that LG makes their refrigerators so that may be the issue here, but I have heard only good things.
