We have a refrigerator which is only a few years old but my wife wanted the ones with industrial-looking handles so we bought a Viking Refrigerator. Also, a friend said that they would be better than Thermadors and Viking has a good reputation. But it had issues with the cooling that was running almost 24/7. It kept running and running and never shuts off except for five minutes and it will run for another six or seven hours. Then, opening the freezer door, it looked like a mist was coming in from the cooling bins where the cool air comes in. According to the sales guy, this indicates too much humidity but he didn’t really know where this was coming from.We contacted the retailer and a guy came by and said there might be an issue. He suggested waiting until it’s in its final place because its still in the living room. Then, hed come by to level out the refrigerator and freezer appropriately and hopefully, the issue would be addressed. If not, they will have to provide some parts. It was a little disheartening considering it’s a brand new unit we paid a lot of money for. Therefore, we will know more in two weeks once it’s in its final place in the kitchen.

The refrigerator was broken so we called the warranty company. It didnt resolve until one month later so we didnt have a refrigerator for a whole month. I guess everybody was busy. We just wish that Viking will have warranty people who come a little earlier to get the problem resolved. But they changed some part, including some sensor somewhere. It was defective, initially. It has been working since the repair was done and we havent seen any similar issue coming up.

The Viking Range works. My wife and I think its design looks really cool and shes heard great stories about the way it works. I also heard that the quality lasts a long time. My wife wanted a Viking, nothing else. She was shopping left and right for it, including seeing if she can get a used one. She walked into the Viking dealer where we purchased the range from and they had a sale of this particular range along with a free dishwasher. Our experience at the dealer was nice and easy. We just signed the bottom line and the range got picked up when we needed it to. Im not a professional chef, but with the Viking Range, it looks like Im in a professional kitchen. The controls on the burners seem to work a lot better than any other range Ive had before, starting from the simmer up to the high temperature. Im happy that I bought it.

The current situation with Viking is an oven relay that has been backordered for over six weeks. Considering the poor quality of Viking appliances, their parts department should be overstocked. The Viking refrigerator is even worse. Egg bin door broken. Deli drawer (big drawer on bottom) broken twice. Have not replaced it yet because it costs over $500 for this plastic piece. Never will I buy Viking again and I tell anyone and everyone not to do so.

Same issues as most everyone else. Viking refrigerator model #DFRB530 has been a nightmare. Constant broken and cracked drawers, ones are the door so bad that they randomly just bust loose when you open the door and smash jars and bottles all over the place. Ice maker works when it feel like it, and door makes very weird sound that is progressively getting worse.... Now Im wondering if I will just fall off as others did? All this after paying $12,000.00 for side by side top of the line units that have been nothing but a disappointment! My Sub Zero that I had for 20 years I put in basement to use as extra refrigerator until it breaks. Its still going like a champ! Never ever again will I purchase a Viking appliance, and like others we live in very high end neighborhood, and I will spread the word to everyone I know, building or remodeling, to steer clear of Viking!

I went through a dealer in a showroom. They suggested Viking and presented it. Since on the day we had it installed, we kept on having issues. We had a cracked hinge which is steel right from the beginning. Right now it’s making a noise when opened. There was also a loose fan inside that was making a noise at the beginning. That would have to be repaired. There was another issue with the bottom drawer, the front door alignment, which is still not perfect. They said it cannot be corrected anymore. If I call directly to Viking, they seemed not very helpful directly. They basically try to avoid any replacement or anything like that because we had a big issue with the first refrigerator, which we had to throw out. That one was brand new that was damaged right at the beginning. This is our second brand-new refrigerator, again with issues. Very pricey too. I have another issue with my stove now, and it’s also Viking. Im not happy. Maybe we just had bad luck, but definitely not buying Viking again. On the other hand, we are very happy with the local service they contracted with. These guys are very responsive and very knowledgeable. They fixed everything pretty much quickly, and were really very courteous. That was a good experience with them. But overall so far, it’s a little bit of a disappointment. We never expected from the beginning to have the service over so many times since it’s brand new. I was actually about to call today again ‘cause there’s another issue. With this price point, buying brand-new appliances are a huge investment for many, many years for me. It’s definitely not worth the price.

Horrible dishwasher. A yard hose would do a better job. The top tray was never stable so I threw it out! Now we have only the bottom tray. Sometimes I literally have to start and restart up to 7 times for the cycle to catch. Btw, Viking refrigerator works exception but the clear hard plastic interior trays/covers cracked every three months. After the third time they replaced the butter cover, meat cover, etc. I was advised they would no longer honor the warranty. Redic company!

We bought a complete Viking package including fridge, microwave, dishwasher and, the bane of my existence, a 30 gas range. The range would get to 400 degrees OUTSIDE the over making a burning hazard for anyone who touched the medal on the top of the range. This bad design caused the electronic ignition to fry. We had repair service done on it 3 times at a cost of roughly 2500.00. The ignition is out again and the quote we have had to repair it is $2000.00. That came with a 3 month guarantee. Since the other times we needed repairs there was only once that it was within the 3 month (we still had to pay for the service call to install the part) we decided against having it repaired. We will be buying a Whirlpool to replace it. I made numerous calls to Viking direct and was never able to get anything resolved.

When it works it works great. I have this stove over 10 yrs. Easy to clean but the controls on the oven parts are not so great. Problems is getting service on this stove nearby. Its a commercial quality stove and somewhat an overkill for the average homeowner. Newer stoves today have more electronic controls while this stove doesnt. I can interchange both natural and propane gas.

Four years ago, I used to deliver the appliances myself and I fell in love with Viking Refrigerators then. I like the looks and convenience of use. However, the situation I have now needs to be rectified. The old refrigerator I have was a great quality. This one now is working great but the door grinds and doesn’t open and close properly.I’ve contacted the store and they sent somebody. Then I contacted Viking Refrigerators because it’s not an installation problem, it’s a problem with the refrigerator. And they sent somebody out to the house a week and a half ago and I have to hear back from them. They said they had to order parts. The product was installed on January 3rd. I contacted them on the fifth and the problem has yet to be rectified. They could have been aware that it is a warranty issue and they should have fixed it immediately. Viking Refrigerators needs to respond better. It was an issue trying to get in touch with somebody but when I finally got somebody, they were very good and they were trying to work with me. Overall, I would still recommend them.

Im a fireman and we have professional restaurant quality ranges so Im familiar with Viking. I like the style, quality and price of my Viking range. It needed a little bit of adjustment and thats about it. I also like the fact that it allows to heat up the pots, and the oven heats up really well so its very efficient. The dealer and delivery crew were great. And the service person has been here to look at it for a couple of issues. It was perfect. Overall, I got a good product for the money I paid and the individuals there at Viking really tried to help me when I called them up with an issue. I also have a Viking refrigerator and Ive had to live with two dings in its door for about four weeks. But theyre willing to help me because the doors have to be made and theyre replacing them. I have no problem with that but it is kind of an inconvenience when I spent $5,000 on the refrigerator. Its not cheap.

The dealer I was buying from was having a weekend event and they had reps from different appliance companies. I didnt want the typical LG or any of the regular brands like GE Profile or KitchenAid. I had KitchenAid gas range before and I wasnt happy with it because the burner wasnt totally heating. It had a little gap, so I had to keep turning whatever I was cooking so it would cook evenly. I also had a GE refrigerator and that was awful. This time, I wanted something higher-end and so we decided to go with Viking. Also, Viking was still more affordable. I purchased a whole kitchen and all my appliances are now Viking. It looks great and it’s definitely high-end. The range definitely cooks evenly and Im happy with it. The stovetop has been my favorite feature as well. Overall, one can tell the quality of Viking just in cooling down the stove or the oven door. I can feel the quality compared to the other standard brands.

Our Viking Professional Kitchen included an under counter bar fridge. It worked for less than a month before needing repairs. About every three months after that, it would suddenly just stop working. Parts for repair would take up to a month and a half. I tried talking to Viking but they would not accept that this product was a lemon and maintained that it was covered by warranty (so why should I complain). They didnt get the issue was that we paid way more for a high-end product that worked for only a few months total out of the first year. It has been repaired a half dozen times now (appears to be a poorly designed electronics control - not a compressor).Fortunately, we purchased extended warranty as the same problem has occurred again. Once again, its a month or more waiting for parts. Our Extended warranty is over this fall. If something goes wrong after that, then we are on our own. I will toss it and buy another brand. No problem with any other Viking products, but based on the terrible Viking corporate response, I would not buy from them again. Wolf /Sub-Zero is a better combination if you are springing for high-end appliances.

Purchased this stove (VESC Professional 30 Freestanding) in April 2012 because we wanted a Viking Kitchen. Big mistake. Here are the comments I sent to the chairman and CEO of the company after using the stove for two months: At the front of the cooktop there is a small gap/crack between the cooktops metal frame and the main body of the stove. Crumbs and other waste accumulate in this space, which is very difficult to clean. The GE range and many others have a completely smooth top, with no gaps around the cooktop, making them much easier to clean. We ordered the optional backsplash, not realizing that it completely replaces the original vent grill which has become surplus. Rather than forcing customers to order both, it would be much more reasonable, and less wasteful, to substitute the optional backsplash at the factory and not send the vent grill, offering an corresponding price adjustment. Ranges costing much less have more features and are better designed. I cannot recommend paying Vikings very high prices (the stove cost over $5000) for a poorly designed product and this will be my last purchase of a Viking product.

I bought a Viking dishwater 11 months ago. During this time, I had to call their repair representative 5 times. I was very dissatisfied with this as I had paid more than twice an average dishwasher and expected better quality and not worse. I have been using dishwashers for more than 30 years and never had any problems before this one. Last week, the washer broke down again and the repair guy said that an olive pit had gone past the filter and into the drain, and he claimed that this was my fault and the warranty would not cover this situation! Now, I always wipe plates and try to get everything off but it is possible thata pit might be stuck to the bottom of a plate or glass and isnt the filter suppose to get that? I consider the design of the filter to be faulty and called Viking but they would not accept paying for the repair. I will never buy Viking again and will relay my experience to everyone I know and recommend them to stay away from Viking products which are highly priced, have poor reliability, and bad customer service.

The dishwasher we bought 3 years ago has been a disaster. This week, the start button fell into the dishwasher. Then the rocket scientist repair person (who is an authorized repair person for Viking) comes to check it, ends up ordering the wrong part because he thought that was the problem, after disassembling the entire panel. Now he says the correct part is backordered for 3 weeks at least. I called All Viking Parts.com and Viking and confirmed this. How is it possible that a $28.00 part cannot be found in the United States of America? Viking is SO proud it is made in the USA, yet cannot have a $28 part in stock. Also, when we bought our 3 viking appliances, they came with a 1 yr warranty. Now they come with a 3 year warranty..... must be due to the fact they are absolute pieces of jump. The stove, fridge and dishwasher have ALL broken. The dishwasher being the most to break. In fact, a part I bought myself and installed in the fridge, has broken.... again... literally within 2 weeks of installing it. NEVER BUY VIKING APPLIANCES..... NOT WORTH IT. I wish I would have listened to the reviews I read about Viking before purchasing.

We had Sub-Zero in our previous house and we were thinking about buying Sub-Zero again but Viking had a promotion, which was if you bought so many appliances, for every dollar over $10,000 that you spent, you get a 10% rebate. It pushed the cost in our favor so we got their unit. The first fridge that they sent had some damages on it and was making a loud noise. The damages were in the white parts on the inside of the unit, and it was something they could not repair. ApppliancesConnection.com, the place where I bought the unit, asked me to send pictures, and I did all that. Then, they sorted all that to the Viking rep. Viking made me an offer, but it was not a large enough discount to make me want and take it. I told them that if they want to make a more substantial financial offer, I would consider taking the damaged one. However, they never got back to me. I had to chase them down for weeks. I called again and again and they told me that the woman who was working on it doesnt do that anymore. Finally, I was like, “You know what, forget it, I’m not taking the offer. Just come out and replace it.” So they came out and took care of its replacement and the new one they sent has been fantastic. Overall, Im satisfied with my experience. Everything got handled pretty quickly and got fixed. However, if there was any way that Vikings could make a refrigerator that has filtered water, that would be a bonus. That was the only feature that we could not get in the Viking fridge and we really miss having it.

I originally had a Thermador, but I was looking at Consumer Reports and the ratings, and the next best one I saw was the Viking. It was a little less expensive than the Thermador, so I went with them. I liked that they have professional-grade appliances, so I purchased from an online dealer, appliancesconnection.com. I got the Viking dishwasher, fridge and stove on a package deal. I live in California and the appliances came from across the United States, so it took a couple of weeks to get them. At that time, I was in Spain and my house is under construction, so that didnt matter to me very much. When I received the items, the front part of the dishwasher was damaged. I contacted Viking to let them know. I spoke with a reps but the interactions I had with them were so-so. I said that I wanted to keep the dishwasher, but I asked them if I could have a new faceplate put on. They said yes, but they kept giving me the runaround for a couple of months. They said that the appliance would be coming from overseas, which wasnt true because it is manufactured in the United States. Also, the refrigerator lights already went out, so I need to call them and let them know to have them come and repair it. In addition, the dishwasher keeps leaking from the door. I always knew of Viking and I wanted more of a commercial stove. But when I bought from them, the time frame was awful. I ordered in November and I got it in January. There was also an issue with the stove and that was very frustrating. But it got fixed. Then, I had a scratch on it which was right at the surface of the stainless steel ledge. Their person ended up telling me that it was a really common place and it was going to get scratched eventually. So I just told her to forget it, which stinks. But it is what it is and I couldnt wait any longer. I wasnt going to send the range back for a small scratch, but it still shouldnt have been there.Aside from that, Viking did not handle any issues with me. I had to go through the seller, which was frustrating because they just kept saying they were waiting. So because of COVID, it took a while, which I understand. But there was no follow-up whatsoever, so you felt it was a burden calling. Everybody was calling with the same stuff and they were mad about it. I have little children and I didnt have appliances for months. That was so hard and I will never do that again. I love the stove now. Its big and I can cook whatever I want whenever I want because the size is nice. I also like that each burner is the same size. But there was so much trouble that I dont know that I would buy a Viking range again.

I’ve had multiple problems with the range. It doesn’t go to temperature. It doesn’t cook food the way it should. It takes very long to heat up. The top of the stove is very difficult to clean. I would never buy it again. I had the rack inside my oven replaced. If youre going to pull it out, it has so much play and wiggle room. When you have food on it, it dips down because there is so much play. When I replaced it, they told me it would probably do it again and they were right. It did. So I am not truly a fan. It’s not worth the money you spent. Also, their customer service portion really needs to be a little bit better. But I do like how the top of the stove cooks. I like the output there. I also like the look of it.

We completely renovated our kitchen with new cabinets, marble counters, and all Viking Pro stainless steel built in appliances with the sole exception being the Bosch dishwasher. In the 10 years since we purchased the appliances, we have had repeated problems, year after year, with the double ovens (VED0127SS), microwave (VMOR205SS), nat. gas cooktop (VGSU1626BSS), cooktop downdraft (VIPR161SS), and refrigerator (VCSB423DSS). We paid $19,115 for what we thought were the top of the line appliances. Their service providers do not help much, and their customer service is terrible and useless. In hindsight, we should have kept our GE Profile appliances that came with the original home purchase and had no problems. Viking claims to have very satisfied customers but I have not encountered one. I will go out of my way to not recommend Viking appliances to all including my enemies.

We were building a house and knew that we wanted a chef standard range. Viking was one of the options and the price was fairly decent when we purchased it. I like the gas burners and the convection oven which cooks our food faster. The quality is also very good. I previously had an electric range and its not even in comparison with my Viking range, not even close. However, we recently had to get two of the switches replaced for the ovens and the ovens were down for almost a month. There are only 2 companies authorized to work on them through Viking and the D&T Appliance is not a very good company. Viking had over 300 of the parts in stock, but it took forever to send them and get my ovens fixed. Were in the process of selling the house and I dont know if Ill buy another Viking because of that. Viking knows theres something wrong with it. They wont have 300 of those parts in stock if those switches werent bad. I love my Viking range but I dont know if I would recommend it because of the customer service. If there’s nothing with it, it’s the best range out there. If something goes wrong with it, good luck.

When I moved into my house, it had a Viking six-burner cooktop which I thought was very well-done. It was enamel, not stainless steel, but was much sturdier than what I have now. I was impressed with it but its been there a while so I wanted to replace that. We redid our kitchen about five years ago and thought I would use Viking products. Thats how I started looking at the other matching pieces. I do a lot of cooking but the quality of what I purchased is not the same with what I had before. In hindsight, I wish I had just kept the Viking cooktop and had gotten double-oven in its place from somebody else. The stainless steel on the cooktop scratches. Ive already had to replace the grates once. Then the temperature on the double oven wasnt getting correct because the hinges were not strong enough. They had to be replaced to the tune of $400. Even after that was done, I still had to have a repairman come again to calibrate it correctly.Aside from the cooktop, we bought a Viking refrigerator whihc we picked in particular because we have space constraints and it worked well. The only thing I like in the new configuration of the model I have is that theres extra shelf at the top. Its very small but Im a baker so I put my pieces right in there to cool in the freezer. But the quality is horrible. Ive had several other refrigerators with which Ive been far more impressed with. The plastic inside is poorly designed in that the butter dish slides open when the door opens. Now, theyve changed it and within days it dented my initial fridge. I also had to replace an internal part as one of the drawers cracked. My first fridge had an ice maker problem and then the compressor went.I went through many months of badgering Viking to replace this thing. The Viking team members have been respectful but not timely. If I hadnt been a diligent pain in the neck, nothing wouldve happened. I had to keep contacting them before they had somebody come. When they contacted a person and I never heard anything, I contacted Viking again and finally got an email that she had left the company. But there was no follow-up.I finally got a new fridge and the people that Viking contracted with to come out were very helpful. When they came out, I spoke to Sally from Viking and wanted to verify that the trim kit will fit in the unit because I spent nearly $1,000 for the kit to make this thing look built-in. Sure enough, the contractors who came forgot the kit. So they came back again with it and only was able to put it in on one side. I then had to call a carpenter and pay out-of-pocket to have it replaced. I then called Viking again who ultimately recouped that fee for me and made me whole. But then again, the ice maker doesnt work in this new refrigerator. The repairman that Viking contracted with from Dillon Appliance came out this week and said that it doesnt function. So Im very disappointed. For the amount of money and time Ive spent on this, its crazy. I shouldnt have to have a part-time job tracking down Viking. They should do what theyre supposed to do. First of all, they should produce a good product. And second of all, Ive dealt with all these different people to have these things repaired and still have a refrigerator that doesnt have a working ice maker and this is my second fridge. And I was out of a fridge for five weeks. It was a long time and I have four kids. I have a backup fridge in the garage but its small. Nobody at Viking really seemed to be worried about this or really apologetic that their products shouldnt break and theyre very sorry that my compressor completely went under five years.I would never buy another Viking product. Its not worth the money, especially the refrigeration. Its like any other refrigerator and they slapped the Viking logo on it. Thats actually what the guy at Dillons told me. Theres nothing exceptional about it. Then Ive been somewhat pleased with the double oven except I had another double oven for years and never had to replace the hinges. Four and a half years in, Im already replacing hinges which is not exactly what I wanted to do. But I needed to retain the heat. Its a very disappointing experience. The product is by no means worth the amount of money I spent on it. The value isnt there.

The Viking refrigerator is horrific and I never would have purchased this product but unfortunately, it came with the house. It was a brand-new, unused refrigerator and yet we had nine repairs on it. The builder worked really hard to get a new one as replacement but it also broke down and, to make it even more insulting, that happened on the day of delivery. It got repaired that day but it’s already starting to show the problem with the frosting and the freeze so we are so done with Viking. We’re in the process of getting a Sub-Zero and I definitely have been passing the word to stay away from this company.

Viking Refrigerator had the most cubic feet in all refrigerator units in 2006. I owned one since 2006 but there was a corrosion issue in it which caused some problems. The warranty honored most of the repairs and it had been fixed. Then I just put in a replacement for the 2006 model that I had. I have high expectations that this new one will be a little more durable. The interior lighting on the new one is great and the accuracy of the temperature seems to be very good. The only drawback is they are extremely expensive. They jumped in cost tremendously from the first time I bought it. But it would have cost even more to reset the space for a different model. So I went ahead and bought a second Viking. Other than that, Im happy with the performance of it. The length of the order time for the new refrigerator was really excessive. I ordered this new unit in October in hopes of getting it in before the holiday season cause I was having a big party where Id cook enough food for 100 people. But I didnt get it delivered to me until May. Apparently, Viking had to send it back to the factory a couple of different times because there were defects and it didnt make it through inspection.

We purchased the high end Viking Double French Door Oven model VDOF730SS approximately 16 months ago. Right away we noticed that the lower oven door did not close properly. Just walking past it could jar it a bit and cause the light to come on. Viking had a repairman come out and replace the hinges (this was a brand new oven mind you), but it did not alleviate the issue. We put off requesting another repair but the warranty is only for 2 years, so we recently requested another repair. The repairman called this morning and said Viking had informed them that our warranty had expired. Our registration plainly states 2 years, and weve only had it for 16 months. We paid $$$ for that oven because of Vikings reputation for high quality. We are very, very disappointed.

In addition to that, it took them forever to get the parts in. We remodeled our kitchen and we liked the quality that Viking Ranges seemed to have. Moreover, it seemed like a very good product. The salespeople in the store really helped us as well. We were in between Wolf and Viking, so they explained to us a few of the things that were going on with Viking at the time. They told us that in the past, Viking did not have such good reviews as far as their home appliances and that theyve come through the last couple of years and changed some things in the way they deal with things. Plus, they had a nice rebate going on at the time. Ive gotten to use the range quite a bit and Im very happy with it. Its heavy and sturdy, which are the greatest things about it. However, you have to make sure that you get a good exhaust fan. With the kind that we purchased, you have to get a separate fan. Also, we purchased the range in October and we had it installed in January, but we still have not received our rebate.

Aside from that, I'm a big person that grew up where you didn't rely on other countries for anything and with Viking, everything is made here in the USA. We did some research on the appliances before we had our house built. There were Viking appliances at the stores then I ordered and read their book. I thought the quality was good. My granddaughters school had Viking appliances. I talked with the people that run the facility there and asked them what they thought of the Viking and how it worked. They convinced me that it was definitely worth it.All of my kitchen appliances are Viking and I wanted to register for all of the warranties. I went to the Viking website and it would not allow me to do that. Then I was having an issue with the dishwasher, and I couldn’t find in the book to correct it. I ended up having to call the repair personnel to get out of the mode as it went into an error code. I had to schedule an appointment and then it took a couple of weeks for them to get here. I also asked the gentleman to help me register the appliances for warranty and he did that. I gave him the information and he was very helpful. For the money that I spent on this kitchen, I expected a concierge service. But Im pretty much pleased with it. Its pretty good and right now, it seems to fit my needs. I like the way the doors are softly closed in the refrigerator. Its good and its a little larger than the standard size. I also like the ice dispenser. I would like the water dispenser but then that would be an additional cost. Overall, Im well satisfied and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

I have owned Viking appliances before like the stovetop and the double oven in my previous home and now in a different home, my Viking refrigerator is doing great. It keeps everything cold and the frozen food frozen and makes ice. Weve been well pleased. I had an excellent experience with the Viking dealer, too. I do real estate development work and have used the company Ferguson for a lot of things and they do an excellent job. Their guy is very knowledgeable. He can answer all the questions and was very helpful to make sure that we were fully informed on what we need to be informed on. It was good price and he handled everything perfectly. Viking is high quality, top-of-the-line and a great product to invest in. They did the gas cooktop in a good way for a modern look. Through the years, they kept it looking the way I like it. Its of great quality, too. I had a great experience thats why Im buying a Viking again.

We were looking for a 48-inch gas range and the two choices on the market from the decent ones were a Wolf and a Viking. So I did the whole digging and Viking had a better reputation in the past, but it still has a good one right now. The oven was the main seller and once we decided to get that, the rest of the appliances followed. I found Viking on Frederick’s Appliances on Amazon initially and I ended up buying all my Viking directly there. They had better prices than all the stores. We like them so much and the griddle is my favorite feature by far. Viking Ranges has really good quality. However, weve had some trouble with our smaller compartment in Viking. It doesn’t work perfectly sometimes and weve had technicians coming over but it’s mostly being blamed on the altitude. We’re at 7,000 ft. We hardly ever use it, so I haven’t called them back. But everything else works perfectly. All in all, Viking has great products and great service.

However, we had to have a repair immediately because a fan was defective on it. They were prompt in getting the repairman out and getting it repaired under warranty work. I was pleased with that. But I still need to figure out how to monitor the temperature to make sure it’s calibrated right because my baking seemed to be different than in the past ovens. It doesnt seem to be baking as quick. I was so happy when we bought our beautiful (blue!) range and fridge in 2011 for our weekend cottage, which is only important because they did not even have daily use. Within the first 2 years the fridge started leaking, the ice maker broke numerous times, the drawers cracked (replacements were hard to find and ridiculously expensive) and now the temperature cannot be adjusted and everything in the fridge freezes. The range is no better. The temperature is uneven, one knob came off, the doors (both) came off their hinges. Now only the small oven closes properly and I have to lean against the large door to get an accurate amount of heat. I’ve spent hours trying to find somebody to fix these two items. When I did, they charged a fortune and the repair lasted no longer than a few weeks. Since about a year I have given up and am living with the expensive mistake I made 9 years ago. I’ve tried contacting Viking directly but they were no help either. I will never buy a Viking again.

There was not a Viking dealer close to me in West Virginia. So I bought a Viking gas range in Maryland and I paid to have it shipped. I had it for a few months now, but the oven quit working. I had it repaired five times and every time it died, it was the same part. Finally after about a year and a half, Viking offered to give me another range and another warranty. I got the same model but a year newer. They had the rollers on it where mine didnt. I used it for six months but the oven quit working. It was repaired twice, but what they decided after the second time was that it needed what I call a torpedo fan that would come on when the oven got hot and blow on this little electronic part that kept dying. It was repaired once after they put the fan on and in June of last year it died again. After about a year and a half, the store that was sending a repairman to me from Pennsylvania went out of business and all of a sudden I didnt have a repairman that could come. So Viking made arrangements with Bridgeville Appliance in Bridgeville, Pennsylvania to come and service. Each time that I had a service, I called up and then in two weeks the guy had come and sometimes hed have to order a part. The guy came from 15 miles away and when he looked at the stove, he had no idea how to attack it. I dont know whether they paid the guy or not but it was under a warranty. When the second oven died last June I told them, I absolutely wanted my money back and they did not offer me that. I told them, I do not want the same model. Ive had two and neither ones worked. They then emailed me and I talked to somebody in Mississippi. They finally put me over to somebody who offered me four models. I told them, I would be willing to pay a normal fee to upgrade but I wasnt going to pay the full price. I chose a gas top with electric oven and it was finally installed last December. So its been six months without an oven. Right now, the oven is still working but I havent used it a whole lot because Ive kind of got away from using it. But Its been almost three years playing with this.Viking honored their warranty but the first product I bought was not even self-cleaning. It was a basic stove and I dont think they had enough installation around the oven to protect that because that electronic part sat on top of the oven underneath the burners. And when they had to repair, they took the top off, different repairman did different things. After four or five repairs, you get a little disgusted. They kept telling me that I was the only one who had the part was dying. But that didnt make sense. There should have been a recall. When they put that little torpedo fan blowing on, I could hear the little fan go on.When they brought this last oven, there was a $6,900 and some dollar price tag on it and I only paid about $4,000 for the first one. So, they really upgraded me. Ive got really good service with the repair, except sometimes, getting someone here took a time. Each time the oven broke down, I had at least a month or six weeks without an oven. I was more without than I was with an oven. So I would not recommend this product.

My mom has a Viking range and I really like it. It’s bigger than 36-inch and she uses it when everyone comes over for Christmas and Easter. It just works so well. It would boil a pot of water within minutes which was way different than when I boil a pot of water on just a conventional oven. I felt like I was waiting for 20 minutes. So, I got one too and we really liked it. However, I got a replacement because for three years that weve had it, the door would fall off every three months and Viking couldn’t fix it. A whole slew of things happened throughout the first six months that led to more things, and it just broke. I asked Viking to replace it because it was not repairable and they’ve already repaired it 12 times. So finally, I got a new version of what I had bought and it’s working. I didn’t get to use the oven as much as I wanted to, but when I did, the convection was also one of the features that I wanted Viking for, and the self-clean which I really love. The cooktop is strong and it has a different side burners. The one at the back for simmer and then I have the oval one for a grill effect. The design is really nice. It’s low in the back which is basic to turn it on and clean it, and that’s all I have. The dealer was so sweet and she worked so hard with me. I had a lot of anxiety with my range and the appliance guy said, “You’re really lucky that you’ve got this replaced. No one gets a replacement.” It’s a $5,000 purchase and every time their techs would come out, it would be $200 just to assess it and it’s a high price to pay. So, to those who wanted to buy a Viking, they have to have some money to back it up if something goes wrong. They can’t just have it under warranty at Sears because Sears doesn’t cover a high-end appliance like Viking.

I went with a five-piece Viking appliance package for its price and the brand reputation. I was able to get the five pieces that worked best for me at that time. However, I found that Viking appliances as a whole are very simplistic. Its great in a refrigerator, but not so much in some of the other appliances. I had Jenn-Air previously and their appliances just had more features. But for refrigeration, it just needs to keep cool things cool and frozen things frozen. The refrigerator is the Viking appliance that we have that I like the best. It’s nice-looking and seems to be doing what it’s supposed to do. It also has a good amount of space. The lighting is nice. I purchased brand new Viking appliances for my entire kitchen. I got a refrigerator, a dishwasher, a microwave, and a 36-inch gas range. I happened to be at Best Buy and walked by their display. I knew Viking was very reputable. I had it quoted to see if it would fit my needs. However, purchasing the appliances there was a nightmare. It was probably the most painful thing Ive been through. Every single product delivered to me by Best Buy was a disaster. Its because once it leaves Viking, it actually goes into a contracted service that Best Buy uses, and its their distributorship that caused the problem. They had way too many hand offs, they had a product coming out of Mississippi and went into distribution centers, and they were supposed to make it to Minneapolis. This is also when the products will be damaged as well, like the dent in the microwave. My refrigerator was delivered completely dead on arrival. They installed it and told me it was gonna take 24 hours for it to cool. The next morning, its as hot as it was when they installed it. The fridge had to be completely replaced. Furthermore, it took almost 12 weeks for my range to be delivered. I was getting the runaround from Best Buy. I kept getting excuses on why they told me they couldnt find my range. I told them, How do you lose a 36-inch range? I dont understand. They said, Well, it didnt arrive. They were a no-show at the loading dock. I had used the range one day, it had a short in it and burned up the entire range. I know that these issues wasnt Vikings fault and I dont think they had any control over what was happening once it was purchased. I felt like the CEO of Viking needed to know about my experience because of the distribution. I did a Google search for the CEO of Viking, and I called and left a message for him on his voicemail. He called me within an hour. And the next day, I had resolution. I had appliances being delivered and everything being handled. They sent a Viking representative out of a smaller-type of distributor, and not a big box company. He was fantastic. Best Buy was putting all the blame squarely on Vikings shoulders because every time I would call them they told me that all the delays were because of Viking. It was ironic that once I did get a hold of Viking, the problem was handled within a day or two days. I would recommend Viking to a friend, although I would tell them never to buy through Best Buy.

Recently they downsized their showroom and kept the Viking line pretty prominent with still having 10 or 15 other lines. We bought about $20,000 worth from Viking the last couple of months and so far, so good. The registration online is great. From a consumer standpoint, some of the information can be hard to extrapolate from the website. For selling $8,000 to $40,000 refrigerators, there could be some better photos and better highlights of what makes the company different. That market has become quite crowded and most folks have some brand loyalty, whether its Sub-zero or Dacor or some of the others. Viking could do a better job of letting the consumer know via the website what those features and benefits are and where variance is between them and the next guy.

We bought a Viking stove, hood/microwave, and dishwasher when we remodeled for our dream kitchen. Each appliance has had problems. First the bottom of the utensil basket disintegrated. It was flimsy and brittle after a few months of use. Brand specific replacement, $70 from our local appliance store. Fewer than 20 months later the control panel on top acted up. The appliance repair person said it would be at least 6 weeks to get a replacement part, if it was even available. It would cost, with installation, over $300. The stove has had several problems, the microwave/hood has problems. None of this was covered under any warranty. For a low end product the performance would be poor. Because its expensive, wed say it was abysmal.

Two year old oven breaks down 3-4 times - We purchased their top of the line double oven range. Within two years one of the ovens has stopped working. Viking has sent out two companies to fix the issue, but one has refused to take on any more Viking range service calls because they cannot obtain parts from Viking. Thanksgiving was very disappointing because Viking was unable to supply the service company with parts even though the service call was place in September. We were told that Viking was doing inventory; therefore, was unable to send out the parts. After contacting Viking, the person I spoke with stated that the service company should not be sharing the information with me. It is now December 4 and still the parts have not been shipped to the service company. Yes, Viking has beautiful appliances, but they are not dependable. We will never buy another Viking product again.

Viking Ranges look beautiful that’s why I chose Viking over a different name, also because of the quality and the name behind it. I wanted everything to match, so I went with the range and the dishwasher as well. The range has worked really well, but the dishwasher had problems when it was first originally shipped. The team with Viking came in and had to replace two parts, but for a brand-new appliance having two new different parts, having someone come in was not something I expected. In the future, I would stick with the actual cookware and not the auxiliary accessories.I have the standard range and stovetop, but its built well. Everything on it is really strong and really sturdy like it would be lasting a long time. I dont worry about if its gonna break if I move to someplace Im gonna have to be of if Im gonna end up replacing it in the next five years. On top of that, I really like the timeless design, where it wont go out of style if I switch from plain marble to black marble. Its not something Im gonna have to replace.

Based on reviews online and their reputation with their consumers and my friends, we decided to get a Viking range. The cost of their range is twice the quality ratio. Im not quite sure what I paid the premium for and the quality of the range is in the middle: not great nor bad. The infrared broiler is my favorite feature of the range, but it does not work that well. I also like the convection and the high-BTU burner. The gas regulator stopped working. It malfunctioned and I couldnt get any gas output from anything including the oven or the burner. I made a service call for it and they took care of it pretty quickly. Overall, Viking range is overpriced with limited options.

I was very familiar with The Viking Commercial Ranges and when I remodeled my kitchen I decided to go with the Viking and expected to get same quality product. I have owned it now for 3 years and been sorry about my decision ever since. The oven doesnt have a temperature display and you never know what the temperature is. The controls are mechanical and connected to a electronically controlled board that fails after short use. The oven does not retain temperature and takes extremely long time to heat up. The cooking time is much too complicated for normal use and even the clock and timer are no simple task. To top it all, it is price at double the price of a Kitchenaid or a GE that do a much better job. I would stay away from Viking, save some money the agony.

I am in the midst of a kitchen remodel. When searching for a range, Viking was definitely the brand at the top of my list. We were in Best Buy one afternoon for something unrelated. I went over to the range section of the store to browse, not knowing that Best Buy even carried Viking. As I walked through the aisles I noticed a white Viking Range. It was beautiful and fit my kitchen design perfectly. When we asked about the range, we were told it was returned by the customer, it didnt fit their design. So we purchased it immediately out of box. Last week, my contractors brought it into our home and installed it. Right away, we realized it was not working properly. We were told when we bought it, there was a two year warranty. I made a call to customer support. They patched me through to a technician who thought the issue was air in the gas line. We ran the range several times, following his instructions, and it still did not work. I called back to customer support and was told I had to register first and that takes 24 hours. I registered the range and called back the next day. I was then told the product was registered to someone else. The rep said he had to do some investigation and called me back. Turns out my warranty is expired because the customer who returned the range registered it and this had occurred two years prior. That was their final answer and they did nothing to rectify my issue. So, now I sit here with a Viking range that does not work in my brand new kitchen. While we are pursuing Best Buy to resolve our issue, I feel that the help I receive with my issue was unacceptable, given the price and reputation of the product. I will never look at another Viking product.Updated on 07/05/2018: We bought an “out of box” Viking range from Best Buy. We were told there was a 2 yr warranty - that was Best Buy’s error. When installed, the range did not work. After calling Viking Customer Service 4 times, I gave up. No one called me back. I called a Viking certified repair place and paid to have them come out. It was going to cost $1700 to fix my NEW range. AND, the technician recommended I return it as it looked like it had been taken apart. I did as he recommended and bought a different brand. I will NEVER buy Viking again.

Viking has a long history, good quality, and beauty, so we decided to get a range, and it is superb and beautiful. My wife is in love with it, so’ I’m very jealous of it. We like how it cooks. It’s so even, and it doesn’t need much gas on it. So, it’s a very nice cooking experience. I’m very satisfied with the range. However, I would like to add a thermometer in the oven because we don’t know what the temperature is. We had an electric oven before, and we set it up to a certain temperature and that will do it. However, it is a different experience with gas. So, I dont see a reason why they shouldnt put a thermometer on it. Other than that, the range is very good. And their representatives were wonderful and supportive.

I researched on the website a while back and to me, Viking products were outpriced out, so I didn’t care for Viking at all and I was looking more into BlueStar and Wolf. But then this year I went to Best Buy and I saw the Viking range, and the customer service guy there, Cary, started telling me about it. I was looking at it and ended up buying it. And I was surprised because I never thought I was gonna have a Viking. But I love it and I’m happy with the customer service. Now the only thing is the cleaning portion of the ceramic part where I can’t get some tough stains out. And customer service doesnt have anybody that I can call and walk me through it or give me ideas. I have to look on the web, and that’s the only bad part. The baking feature of the range is great but it’s a little bit slow. If I have a cake that is a 30-minute cake, the baking time goes close to an hour. I love to bake and a pound cake is supposed to be 45 to an hour and 15 minute and Viking goes close to the two hour time. The oven turns off and it comes back on, so baking takes longer. I may be doing something wrong but I don’t press the button for a convection oven. So I’ll ask the technician when they come. The dealer in the Pacific Department at Best Buy was an excellent help and Viking Ranges is excellent. Go ahead and purchase one if you can do it.

I have had a Viking stove for about 30 years. When I went into a store, I saw that there were Viking displays and the refrigerator really looked very nice. I needed the built-in one because I was taking out the bad old built-in. The Viking refrigerator had all the features I wanted and had good quality parts and interior too. The ice machine is in the freezer. And I like the ice to be in the tray where I could scoop it out. I got a side-by-side that looks good in my kitchen. I like the same feel and that it was constructed with a simple design. I also like the clean stainless steel doors and the way its very vertical and tall. I hope that it would last a very long time. If it does, then Id be happy. My experience with the dealer was pretty good but they dont use the best people to do the installation. Their people are not really specialized for Viking. They brought the first refrigerator in and installed it in such a way that they damaged one of the doors. And then they had to send another refrigerator to replace it and it was a big ordeal. Nevertheless, I would tell my friends that so far, I am happy with my Viking refrigerator.

We liked the look of the Viking Ranges. We also liked the multiple burners and the size of the double oven. We knew what we wanted as we shopped, and we picked Viking out. Weve had a couple of problems, though, but it is covered by warranty because we built the house. We had to have it completely replaced once, because the main oven door wouldnt close and seal. The original dealer stopped carrying Viking, so we ended up having to get the replacement from another dealer. Because it was an all-new construction, the builder handled finding the other dealer, and he contacted them. They quoted all the same appliances and everything was smooth. The pricing wasn’t any different. It was just a matter of waiting for construction completion, and everything was here when we moved in. It didnt hold up construction. With the replacement, though, the two oven doors dont align. There’s an uneven gap, so it looks like somethings crooked. But theyre coming next week to try to get that fixed. Were hoping that its some adjustment that they can make and not another problem. Another thing is that it has all large burners. Theres nothing smaller for just a small pot to simmer something, so I’m always dealing with a larger wider diameter pot. But it’s a nice product, so far. Theyve been accommodating with the issues that weve had, so I would recommend it.

I purchased 27 Viking “professional” double wall ovens to replace old GE model in November 2010. I used them successfully to cook Thanksgiving dinner (I dont use an oven very much!). In 2011 around September, I cooked something that gave off a lot of steam and fogged up the analog clock which stopped. Reset it a few days later and it was fine. In January 2012, I roasted some wild mushrooms. The moisture from the mushroom stopped the clock again and I realized at that time it has also stopped the other timing controls. This time the controls stayed broken. I called Viking and I was told the ovens were out of warranty. I called for service and was advised to turn off the circuit breaker which may reset the controls. That didnt work. I called back and the operator was very surprised that Viking didnt “step up” and pay for the repair (they quoted $200 or so to send someone out). I called Viking back to ask again but couldnt reach anyone so I left a message. Then I emailed their customer support. I received a response that they would fix the controls for FREE. But after numerous emails and calls to Karen ** (senior customer support representative: **), I am still waiting. I will never purchase another Viking product! I love my Wolf exhaust fan and my Miele dishwasher and my very old Chambers gas cook top (I will never replace it).

We bought a home with an Italian Fhiaba refrigerator. We had a lot of problems with it and we had to replace it. It cannot be repaired and we only had a certain amount of money that the manufacturer had given us to purchase another refrigerator. The Viking was on sale and thats why I purchased it. It was not my first choice though. The drawers for produce, meats and cheese storage bins are so cheap and I was shocked at the interior for a Viking product. I was sad to lose my Italian refrigerator which was well-made and had beautiful interiors. I would not have bought the Viking refrigerator but it was at the right price, so I ended up with it. But would I buy another one? Absolutely not. We purchased a completely renovated home, and all the appliances were Vikings. The six-burner gas stove and the microwave are all okay, and they work great. But I would not recommend the refrigerator. When I knew I had to replace my previous refrigerator, I went onto several websites to read reviews, and very few of them were good. But my husband wasnt going to spend more money because we bought a house with a $10,000 refrigerator that ended up not working after two years. Even the plastic inside of a Sears Kenmore refrigerator is better. Viking has these soft close drawers for cheese and veggies, which are awful. I have to treat them with kid gloves, because Im afraid theyre going to break on me at any given moment. The company that owns Viking make commercial grade refrigerators and U-Line is one of their products. Its an amazing refrigerator. Why dont they use some of the same materials? Viking has been synonymous with high-end quality. But they really fell short on this one. Looks good on the outside, poor quality on the inside.

The oven that we bought from Viking took about eight months to ship and when it came, it was damaged. We had to wait another month and a half to fix one part, so it could be fully operational. So, I dont have a lot of confidence that the rest of the machine is going to last that long. The broiler specifically had to be rebuilt in our house. The microwave hasnt worked properly since installation and after three months, we finally got Viking to replace it instead of fixing it. Its nice having a high BTU range, which was what I was looking for, as a home chef. The oven seems to be working fine and the microwave has some good features if it would work. There should be open communication between the retailer and the Viking Middleby company. Im disappointed. If I had known now what we would have gone through, I probably would have chosen a different option. We were simply upgrading our kitchen and we had something that was working that we got rid of for this.

The unit I purchased had a dent in the front door and I got it for a discount at Lowes. It was a really good price. A year later, it has stopped cooling. Lowes told me when I bought it that even though it was cosmetically damaged, itd be under factory warranty. Viking sent a repairman out because they acknowledged the warranty. When they were at my house, they said, It was damaged in shipping and you have to call Lowes.” So I called the warranty company and they said “You bought it on sale from Lowes. Therefore, it’s as is.” Then I said, “I wouldnt have bought the refrigerator for $6,000 if I thought it was not under warranty.” So they said, “You’re beat.” And Lowe’s said, “You’re beat ‘cause you bought it at a discount.” So I had to buy a Sub-Zero. Neither company helped me. Needless to say, I don’t have confidence in either Lowes or Viking. I wasted $6,000 in one year. I lost the $6,000 and then I paid $12,000 for the Sub-Zero. So, I paid $18,000 really for the fridge. I tried to fight it, and I tried to argue with them, and tried to ask everybody that I could for help. When we first took delivery of our Viking stove (double oven, 4 burners and grill) the larger of the two ovens didnt work and the computer motherboard had to be replaced. The company servicing it was great so the impact was minimal. Within the first few months, the black finish on the grease trough, although never used, started to peel, exposing the shiny metal underneath. Since it is so visible on top of the stove, I reached out to Brigade (the new name for Viking in Canada) for a replacement part, under warranty. After much waiting on hold, and back and forth emails, they agreed to send the replacement part.I waited five months only to find out that the order was never placed and a new company has taken over their parts distribution. They have informed me that since my warranty has now expired, they will SELL me the part at a discount. How nice! This stove, which looks beautiful, was meant to be a once in a lifetime purchase.
