I wanted a classic gas stove and didnt want one with computers. The Viking range was simple and that was why I got it even though it was not as good as Wolf. But I had a question about the product because it was so hard to see one. I got the cheapest 30-inch range and the showrooms had none. I was told by a Ferguson person that there was two of this one and so she called and said, Oh, ones not supposed to be there, they have upgraded it. I called Vikings to find out what they changed because the price was lower. The rep was short with me and she wasnt the best customer service. Also, when I was buying it, I was told there was nobody to service it in Williamsburg. I told them that Port City does and so the rep called them and they go, Yeah, we work on them. They even put it down on my sales receipt. The day after I got it, I roasted a bunch of vegetables and there was moisture in between the glass on the oven door. It didnt go away for four days. I called Ferguson and they called Port City who sent a guy out. My stove has a middle burner thats oblong and its one of the lowest BTUs. This one wouldnt light like the other one. The repair guy said that it was the same as the round one but there were more holes and that was normal. The installers said they were gonna replace the glass thing in the middle. But its never done it again and now, Im worried and Im afraid to say, Dont fix it cause theyll say later, Oh, you wouldnt let us fix it. The moisture does dissipate eventually and I have faith in my repair guy that hell do it right cause Ive known him for years. But since the day I got the oven until now, I still dont have the part. Other than that, everything seems fine to me.

Viking Combi oven model vcso210ss - This is an unsafe product. The trays on this small unit have no stops. As a result of this design defect, the trays slide forward and down. Because of this downward motion, anything on or in the tray has the potential to splash or fall onto the door, which pulls down, or onto the hands of the consumer. Fortunately, no injuries to date but will probably use mostly in the microwave mode which requires no tray.

What I liked about Viking was the unwavering quality but I dont think thats true anymore. The Viking appliances that I have that were supplied with the apartment are of a much lower quality than I had come to expect from them. Theyre only a couple of years old but Im not happy with them. Im very disappointed with Viking and Im looking to replace the appliances that I have. With the open burner range, it feels very rickety and I have to take it apart to clean it quite often. But Im fearful about cleaning it. Looking inside, there are these loose wires and I need to clean the inside very carefully for fear that I will dislodge some wire or something. Also, I have a dishwasher and a microwave that have failed and the refrigerator freezes milk but doesnt have even temperature regulation. They replaced the microwave fairly quickly but when the dishwasher broke, I was without a dishwasher for almost two months. Viking seems to be able to replace things, but they dont seem to be able to fix things.

Viking Refrigerators has a good quality and I really like their water dispenser. We went with them because of their name, but the dealer either sold us a defective refrigerator or it was dropped when they installed it. So we contacted Viking and had it replaced. We got it resolved and everything has been fine.

We had Viking Ranges in our previous home that we sold and my wife wanted another one so we bought one for this new home. We had phoned what we wanted to the Viking dealer we worked with. There are a little bit different ones he wanted us to buy but we told him we wanted what we saw online that they have for $4,999. Once we told him that he looked it up and that was what we got. Its quality is excellent and we really like it. They changed the top where the burners are so they’re a little bit easier to clean. We like the way the stove cooks and its oven. We are happy with it.

I liked the blue color offering of Viking Ranges and they werent as expensive as other ones. I knew exactly what I wanted, so purchasing it was easy once I found where to buy it. It was installed wrong though, so I had to have them come out. Once it was fixed, I love it. I like that it has two ovens but the racks slide almost too easily, and sometimes, they just kinda go in and out too fast. Sometimes, Im trying to grab it and forget that I need a hot pad but I have never burned myself.

I love the quality of Viking Ranges. My husband had a restaurant before so we had some of their products. We picked it because there’s no electronic stuff. It’s very simple. We tried different stoves and they have electronic components in them and they went bad quickly. On the last one we had, the little plastic with all the stuff that they have where they push the button burned. So, we got fed up with it. Our favorite feature so far with our Viking is the burners. You can put four pots and pans, big ones at a time, and have enough space to cook without having to move anything. Also, the lady who helped us at the dealer was super nice. Not only did she know what she was talking about when we asked for stuff, she showed us a couple of them. Viking is worth the money that youre spending on it.

I wanted a French Door refrigerator that had more of a Pro Style versus something super modern and I wanted it to have a water dispenser. There werent very many options that fit that on the market, though. I was looking between a Viking and a KitchenAid at two different dealers, and they had a Viking as a floor model. It was a good deal to me. There were bad things I heard about refrigeration at one of the appliance dealers that I went to, but so far, Ive been happy with my Viking refrigerator. Overall, my experience with Viking has been fine.

I heard better reviews on Viking from people that have had them, and I wanted to go in the direction of a range like this only because less bells and whistles means less to break. The quality is good. The door handle wouldnt open one time and the rep that came to do the repair was excellent. He was on time and it was easy to make the appointment. They were very good and professional. I also like that they took care of the problem quickly. Plus it was covered under warranty.

The Viking Pro dishwasher we had was recalled because the heater would start fires, apparently about 20 of them! So they sent a tech to fix it - that took 3 months! So we washed dishes by hand. Then after they supposedly fixed the dishwasher it would give error codes like flooding, but it was not doing that it just would stop mid cycle - sometimes. So they came again after much complaining and could not fix it and suggested it MIGHT be a control board problem. Even though when they ran diagnostics there was nothing found to be broken. It was clear to me that fixing the heater problem caused the machine to randomly stop, yet they refused to fix it. Viking wanted to charge me for a new controller board so adding $400 to a unit I already do not trust. Clearly if it worked before they took it apart and replaced the wiring harness and heater then something they did during the repair broke something else!

Purchased top of the line Viking fridge for 10K 3 years ago and about 9 months after purchase the crisper drawers were collapsing down onto the bottom shelf of the refrigerator making about half the fridge unusable. Viking sent out their service company and changed the middle shelf which the crisper drawers hang from and changed the slider brackets. Worked fine for about 3-4 months and then the same thing happened again. Viking came out and changed the parts again with exactly the same type of parts. Worked fine for about 4-5 months and then the drawers started collapsing down again when you would open a drawer. Well this went on for 3 more additional services and I think at about the 3rd or fourth service Viking said the fridge was out of warranty! LOL!I informed them that you cant replace defective parts with the same exact defective parts until the warranty runs out and then say the fridge is out of warranty. So they sent a repair company back out who charged me $149.00 to look at the crisper drawers laying at the bottom of the fridge and said yep theyre broke and left. Then they sent a different service company out and they changed the parts again and again it failed after several months. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and I rigged a plastic spacer and thick brass washer behind the middle shelf to kind of wedge the crisper drawers in place. That has held up but was only suppose to be a temporary fix until Viking came up with a permanent solution. Kim from Middlebery that owns the Viking brand said they are working on it, that was back in February and now its radio silence 3 months later. Kim asked me at that time do I want them to come out and fix the shelf till the engineers come up with a solution. I said no my Rig is working so far and no sense having Viking come out and waste both our time and money installing more defective parts. Well no good deed goes unpunished cause it looks like Im stuck with my fancy refrigerator being rigged up so that its functional. And oh by the way the crisper drawers are now all cracked and the sliders broken from falling down so many times. This is frustrating, embarrassing and not right, to spend ten thousand dollars on whats suppose to be a superior brand and have it fall apart and get no company support! Our KitchenAid fridge lasted 20 years and we could have bought the exact replacement for 2 k less! But we wanted to upgrade but instead got a tremendous downgrade. If you want a built in stick with Sub Zero. Thats why my son in law Vince The Builder only uses Sub Zero in his multi multi million dollar homes he builds. He will soon be doing a video of my fridge for his 200K instagram followers to show his clients why he wont use Viking appliances. I hope this saves the next person from going thru the same ordeal as me.

I was looking into a more professional level of cooking appliances. My husbands parents have had Viking for years and he really liked them so we just went with that one instead of a Wolf. Theyre all very similar but I liked the name recognition and experience of Viking. The dealer was excellent, very knowledgeable about the product and helpful with questions. Our Viking range is of excellent quality. We have a dual range and a cooktop thats propane so we really like the feature of the convection and all the options in the oven. We like the size of it too. We have six burners and it definitely functions with big holiday events. And when we had any repair issues, which had been minimal, they were very quick to get us a repair guy here and they did a great job.

When we decided to purchase a new fridge, there were only a couple of choices - GE, Sub-zero and Viking, so I went with the better choice. We also got a Viking dishwasher, stove and hood, and so far, they have been okay. But we had a problem with the freezer down below. Someone came and fixed it, but it took a long time. Other than that, its still in good shape and its doors are nice. Ive had other brands and the Vikings quality seems okay. I wouldve preferred to have a mostly full refrigerator and a small freezer, and didnt wanna have one with a freezer below because the ice maker was also below, and I dont freeze a lot of stuff. But this particular Viking fridge came like that.

The Viking appliances came as a package with the house that I purchased and I was like, “Wow, these are really good appliances in the place.” I just had contact with Viking Refrigerators when I was registering the appliances. I needed to register them for them to be serviced under warranty. But I was a little surprised that sometimes the serial numbers and product numbers didn’t go into the side of the appliances. Then I would call Viking Refrigerators and they gave me a procedure for dealing with this which made the whole process of registration a little more complicated. We just had our Viking refrigerator serviced because the ice maker was not working properly. Apparently, it was freezing the water on the way in. It took a while to get people to service the refrigerator, then they had to order the parts. It has been a week and a half now since the repair and the same thing is starting to happen again. Ive been seeing water freezing and dropping down, so I’m about to make another call to Viking Refrigerators in the next couple of days. When the technician repaired the refrigerator earlier, he said, “I’ve changed everything that I could. If this doesn’t work, I don’t know what else would.” But I was a little baffled that six months into living into my house, my super expensive, top-of-the-line Viking refrigerator didn’t work and then they serviced it, and now there’s water frozen. When the water seeps, it starts freezing, and the frozen thing eventually blocks the water in, and that was what also happened the last time. The quality of the Viking refrigerator seemed nice, but I was a little surprised that something so upscale with such a great reputation had this kind of failure in the first six months of its life. The refrigerator was covered under warranty because the Viking appliances came with the same one-year warranty that the builder gave. But Im going to reach out to Viking Refrigerators and find out if I can extend the warranty because I’m a little concerned and we’d love to have that extended warranty.

I spent almost $1000 on a Viking Microwave/Convection Oven - this was a terrible mistake. Service techs have been out 6 times repairing fuses etc. The control panel also broke which trips my circuit breakers. A new panel costs around $500. Ridiculous. I purchased a Viking refrigerator on a scratch and dent auction at a pretty good deal. They did not promise any warranty and I’m in Iowa so there are no resources for people to look at it. The refrigerator performs very well and it keeps everything cold. However, I dislike that it is very difficult to move around as it is 48-inch wide. We installed it ourselves and it was difficult to do it. It was a big process but we are happy now that it is in. Viking is still based in the United States so, there is very much of the hometown feel connection and I’m still working with someone local. Also, they have invested in hiring people and they are paying Americans to do a job. I appreciated that and it makes me feel like Im coming home when Im talking to them. When I called to follow up and ask questions about the cabinet being built, the technical support was very good. But the person at the parts department was not. Ive worked with him a few different times and he didn’t have technical knowledge of his job. He was very demeaning too. When we were talking about parts I needed to order, I got transferred back to technical then back. I got transferred back again when the numbers were not right. If they could combine their knowledge of the technical with the parts department, it would create a much better and efficient process.

Viking Ranges is all over and I know it’s a very good range so I went with them. Im happy with its quality and I like their six burners. Also, I’ve never had a gas oven so I’m happy with that too. The people I bought the range from was Ferguson, and I had some issues when it was delivered. There was a part where the oven door shut and we couldn’t get the light to go off. I had to call Ferguson, then they had to notify Viking so they could come out and fix it. It was evidently a factory flaw. It took about a couple of days to get someone out. Nonetheless, I had an excellent experience. I would encourage my friends to seriously consider purchasing Viking appliances.

We had a built-in grill when we moved into the house about 40 years ago. We then replaced that and got a 24-inch Viking grill. When we decided to get a new stove, we wanted to match it up. Previously we had an electric stove. We checked other things like BlueStar, but we liked the looks and the style of Viking so we selected it. Its great and the heat of the range is so much even and it works so much better. The temperature control is really nice and I like the one pullout rack which is really convenient. The product is also easy to clean. I lift up the racks on top of this each day and I can dust underneath there. You can take the ceramic tops or the steel tops off the burners as well. It’s really nice and so much better than electric. It also looks like a million bucks and will never go out of style. It always looks like a professional item and is classy looking too. Its the best there is. The installers did an excellent job and we had all the trim pieces. We inquired about getting a broiler from them but Viking doesnt make them anymore. I’m going to have to have some Viking products when we move. I was in the Fire Department before I retired and all the fire stations had Viking grills and gas stoves. There were about 8-burner stoves and that’s where I first saw them. They always worked well. I am thankful for Vikings good products and am appreciative of them. I’d highly recommend Viking.

The techs came in and had to replace the whole shelf because they noticed that it wasn’t glued in from the factory. It came apart. The middle shelf that we had to have repaired that had the deli drawers in it isnt stable enough to put heavy items on it. And there is no other place to put heavy items on it. Weve had a Viking Refrigerator for as long as I can remember. We always like how the line of products look. Unfortunately, our own Viking Refrigerator has been terrible and we had a lot of issues with Viking because of it. We bought a new house and then the refrigerator stopped working. We had contacted Viking about 15 times to talk to them about replacing it but they kept sending somebody out to keep repairing it but it didnt work. They refused to replace it until the serviceman said theres nothing more he could do. So we went about eight weeks without having a refrigerator and thats not ideal when there are kids. We had to have the refrigerator replaced and its going to be our last Viking just because the customer service was absolutely horrific. They were very difficult to deal with and theyre worse than the refrigerator.

I have a Viking stove that Ive been pleased with it so I assumed their refrigerator would be of good quality. I got a brand new one and it was a store model because the other refrigerator was going to be a three-month wait, which I couldnt wait for. I received the refrigerator in June and I like the appearance of it. But I noticed one issue in mid-July where the door doesnt shut properly. The icemaker then broke in September. I noticed that it was freezing stuff in the back of the fridge. That was probably a few weeks afterward but I suspect it hadnt worked at all. When I built my house in 2006, I put all Viking appliances in, without regard for price, because I thought I would have quality products for many years. The dishwasher was labeled as not worth fixing, after 4 years. The temperature control on the built-in oven is so sloppy and inaccurate that you are always guessing at what the actual temperature is. I was told even the new control knobs are that inaccurate. The ice dispenser on the built-in side-by-side fridge dispenses ice to the floor almost every time it is used. I have to post instructions for use on the fridge when we are entertaining. The plastic pull-out ice drawer broke after the 4th year. The automatic ice maker stopped working completely in the 11th year and it took over a year to diagnose, get parts and repair the problem. Parts took 9 months to get. One positive, the meat drawer keeps the meat unbelievably fresh for extended amounts of time. No children here so the wear and tear is very minimal. I will never purchase another Viking product.

My husband enjoys cooking. We were looking at other ranges all around the same price and we found Viking. It was on sale at the store and we were saving a couple of thousand bucks. So far, it seems it has a good quality. I like the blue light that lights up the knobs. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to see what I’m doing. I also like the way the racks inside the oven slide nicely. The sales rep was friendly. But after the purchase was made my husband had a few questions, and they weren’t so quick to talk to him or call him back like they were before the purchase. Also, I find it odd that it doesn’t have a self-cleaning oven. When I turn the burners on they don’t always ignite and burn evenly the way I would expect them to. I do the baking and seeing that it’s Christmas, I’ve been making cookies that I can only bake in the middle rack. It’s funny because in all the advertisements they show a door opens full of all kinds of goodies on all three levels, and I can’t cook that way. I have the middle rack and that’s it. Anything on top or bottom burns. And they’re not removable racks, except for the middle one. The top and the bottom are on roller slide, that’s why they move so easily. I can’t just pull it out and move it up or down.

I ordered the Viking over the phone with someone. I had to wait for the hood and the dishwasher for quite a while, but it was okay because we were waiting on other stuff for the kitchen remodel. I like the style of Viking Ranges and nobody else makes red in that kind of an industrial feel. Its quality also has been great so far. I like all that all the burners are the same size and its iron top is simple. It was pretty good and I’m glad that they just left it to me to install. However, the dishwasher that I’d gotten originally from them has no damage on the outside but was all dented on the inside, so I don’t understand how that could have happened and I didn’t realize this until I went to put it in after having it for 20 days after they delivered it. Then at the beginning of March, it stopped working. The pump that takes the water out just continually would run and it would never start another program. Viking replaced it for me because they couldn’t find a service person in my area. But they wouldn’t just send it to me to put in, so I had to deal with letting an installer put it in. The installer did not do a great job so right now, I have to go back and level it. Now I have to find some additional insulation because they took that with them and they didn’t put all the insulation in the front so it’s louder now. They also didn’t put one of the screw covers on and it’s a stainless steel screw on a black background so now the black tic-toe panel on the bottom has one screw that’s glaring. I gotta fix those things and I’ll paint the screw. I wish they would have just sent it to me and let me put it in, but they insisted on it. In terms of the way they handled the situation, I thought I was dealing with someone who wasnt able to make any decisions. It took them from the beginning of March until they put it in on Thursday to get a working dishwasher. But I would still endorse my friends in getting Viking because I think that’s not necessarily a manufacturing problem.

I was all the way around looking at different places and I ended up buying the Viking fridge through the kitchen design place that I used. One thing that was attractive was the breakdown in price when I bought four appliances. I like the quality of the Viking fridge. It does the job well and I like the design. However, when the ice maker is in ice making mode, the arm is down and the drawer is full, then I open the drawer, a whole bunch of ice gets pushed out to the back and on to the floor. When I slide out the drawer, the arm takes some ice cube with it. Theres gotta be something that wasnt done quite the way it should be because I always have to put the ice maker arm up when I can see its getting full. Its not really engineered very well there and I wish that was a little different. But I like the way it looks and the way it feels sturdy when I use it.

Viking had a large selection, a solid website and competitive pricing. Thats why weve chosen to use them. Unfortunately, I regret purchasing from a wholesale applianve store. I understood that because of COVID, the fridge took a very long time to arrive at our house. But from day one, the fridge never even worked. I contacted Appliances Connection and never heard an answer back. So I went through a technician who referred me to the Viking warranty technician in town. He came out and told me that the Viking fridge that I purchased had a manufacture date of somewhere in 2018. This was the fall of 2020 when I got the fridge. He also said that there was damage on the inside of it. He has replaced it and the fridge has been working fine since. But for about 90 days, I had a refrigerator in my kitchen that wouldnt get cold.I never got in touch with Appliances Connection ever. I had to go out on my own to find out who was the Viking warranty technician in town and that process was very pleasurable. Once I got hold of Viking Corporate, they resolved the issue very easily. Now that the fridge has been fixed by the warranty technician, nothing out of my pocket, everything has been great. Viking, as a company, has done a great job. Were enjoying the fridge and I love it. All the new technology is new and fun to us since my wife and I havent purchased a new fridge in probably a decade.

We got a Viking Refrigerator three months ago. The freezer stopped working, we called the service and the lady who talked to me on the phone was rude. They sent someone and he found that the fan was broke. They came again last week, they ordered a new fan and they put it in. The fan was working, but the problem was not solved. The problem was the freezer temperature was 14 degrees higher than preset. And the refrigerator part, the upper shelf temperature was 10 degrees below the preset, so all the yogurt are frozen. I called them again and they will send another company to fix it. Its an expensive piece we paid for. Its not even as good as the cheap refrigerator we bought from Fensa. I suggest quality control.

Since they will not service it even after being told that my wife is pregnant and it’s dangerous to operate a broken ceramic electric range top. May 22nd I pay 178 bucks to their agent Oceanic repairs to tell me how to fix the ceramic top of my electric oven which is broken. Now two weeks after repeated calls to their agent and Viking, no one even has told me when it will be fixed. Since it’s dangerous to operate a cracked ceramic oven top, we couldn’t even boil water for two weeks. And probably will have to sit a few more weeks before they will enlighten me when this ceramic top will be fixed. By then, I will be forced to buy another oven, of course never Viking again. Please don’t pay this kind of money for a brand which will take weeks to just tell you when your oven will be fixed.

We’ve always used high-end appliances and we have always used Viking. For the second house we purchased, the appliances came with it but with the first house, we purchased appliances and it was either Viking or Wolf, and we just went with Viking. The refrigerator is usually good. I also liked the size our refrigerator. We’re a little disappointed that it broke and to have a repair so quickly after moving in. The refrigerator stopped cooling, which is a pretty big thing for a high-end refrigerator. For appliances that are so expensive, we expect, number one, not to have as many necessary repairs as we have had in the past; and number two, we expect the experience to be more seamless when we do have that.

I followed the seasoning directions for my range. After attempting to season the grill, it immediately rusted. When I contacted Viking about this problem; they responded first with having a certified personnel come out and take a look at the rust. Then when the personnel reported it back to Viking they responded with it was a human error and did nothing about this at all. I followed the seasoning procedures in their manual. Viking blamed me for the rust. Unprofessional and ridiculous.

I hope people read this review and decide not to purchase thousands of dollars worth of **!!!! Do not buy!!!! Oh yeah, I’ve tried to have it worked on and called Viking several times. Guess what! They don’t service my area! It was serviced when this POS was sold for $5000! Save your money and get something that works! I HATE my oven especially since today is Thanksgiving and it will not keep a steady temp! I have been trying to bake biscuits for over two hours! I wish I could put in better words how much this oven sucks and so does the customer service!

Viking has high-end products and has been around for so long. I have friends and colleagues who had used their products. When we renovated the entire house, we bought the whole set of Viking composed of the refrigeration, dishwasher and a range. I got a warranty for three years. However, there were some issues with my oven. Somehow, something stopped working. I called them and in two years, we were not offered the warranty for the service. We had to find our own way and I thought of every procedure possible to get the oven started again. But even today, it still hasn’t been repaired because I don’t have a warranty. And although the other Viking products are working fine, Im dissatisfied with Viking as I did not get what I needed at this point.

Forget the fact my 2010 Viking oven has never heated properly or that we couldnt use our 2010 Viking dishwasher for 5 weeks because we couldnt get a part to fix it. Now, we have been without the use of our 2010 Viking refrigerator for a month. Five service calls, five missed days from work to wait for a repairman, and now, the repair service says it’s not fixable. Its two years old! We have called, emails documented and Viking says they will review the case. An hour on hold today, waiting to talk to a supervisor and all she could tell me was to wait for someone from the distributor to call me sometime. Thanks, big help. Do not buy Viking products. Let me know where to sign up for a lawsuit. We have spent hundreds of dollars on eating out and lost food from the broken fridge. Not to mention, our custom cabinets were built specifically to the specs for these products. If I spend the money to buy something else, I will have to re size all our cabinetry. So frustrated.

I love to cook and Ive always loved and wanted a Viking range for many years. We finally decided to get a range and Im very happy with it. Our Viking range is something Ive wanted for many years and it is fantastic. I love that I have six burners, that I have the option of convection and that its gas, since Ive always had electric. The team at the Viking dealer was wonderful and great but I was not impressed with all the demonstrations there. We also got a dishwasher, a refrigerator and a hood. Upon delivery, we had a dented dishwasher, which was not anybodys fault, and they replaced it which was fine.

It took a lifetime and a half to get the range because of COVID. Once we got it, it sat in the garage for a while while we waited for things to happen in the kitchen that were also delayed for a while. Then my contractor and I installed it with no difficulty whatsoever mostly because he knew what he was doing. The quality control of the range is great. Theres one little tiny nick in a piece of have stainless steel and weve got one of the burner knobs that sticks ever so slightly. The Viking range puts out ferocious heat so we find ourselves turning the gas down more than turning it up. But thats just a learning process. Were learning the tricks with the multiple things you can do with the oven. I built a custom home in 2008 and chose to install an all-Viking kitchen, based on their supposedly superior professional performance, quality and reputation. Specifically, I purchased a 6-burner range with a grill and griddle, double oven, double door ref, wine cooler, microwave, dishwasher and food warming drawers! Within the first month, the drawers in my refrigerator both cracked because the door trays hit them every time they are opened and closed. Then the top shelf and the vegetable drawer froze all of my food! The door to my wine cooler keeps flying open and the dishwasher was serviced several times because it started to smell like a wet dog. The repairmen (several came and couldnt fix the thing) said that it was because the hose kinks trapping food and causing it to ferment. So appetizing! Currently, my dishwasher has been out of service for six months and counting because the authorized Viking servicer cant seem to get the part from the factory because its been discontinued! (My GE dishwasher lasted over 26 years and I could always get parts!). Finally, my Viking microwave broke twice in the first four years! All of this inconvenience and frustration just to have friends come over and admire the Viking Professional logo on all of my appliances, at least until I tell them that Viking has the worst-designed appliances ever made and the quality control department should be standing in some unemployment line somewhere for bilking customers out of their hard-earned money! Dont be a victim! Do not buy Viking!

We wanted an all-gas oven and Viking had it. We also wanted self-cleaning, and the one we got came available with white on the front, which we wanted. The dealer was great. However, on the back of the range, we bought a separate piece for the air to come up from the oven, and it blows the burners when the oven is on and causes the burners not to be as efficient. That’s a big flaw. Because that air is blowing the burners and the flame is flickering, it takes forever to boil something. I wouldn’t recommend it because of that. If I were to do it again, I wouldn’t get it.

Ive known about Viking forever and as a matter of fact, the brother of one of my friends in Iowa used to be a distributor for Viking. I had a GE Profile that broke down after about five years and I was not about to put any money into it, so I thought Id invest in a Viking. Ive dealt with the dealer, Abt, before for other things and I got my Viking refrigerator from them. The guys who installed it were absolutely wonderful and they tried not to scratch floors. They did a good job and it was first class as far as installation. While the water for the GE was hooked up with plastic, the Viking has a nice metal flexible pipe. Howeve, the bottom drawer broke apart when I pulled it out. A gentleman came out, looked at it, and said that theyll send me a new one. They sent another drawer out and so that was no problem. Another thing also is that every time I looked at the temperature on the GE, it was the same temperature on my little thermometer. On the Viking, the temperature jumps around so it does things differently. Still, it runs quite a bit more than my GE ran.

I also had a LG refrigerator that was a lemon and it stopped working after about a year and a half, and the dealer was really difficult to work with. But every call that I made to Viking so far has been answered right away and they’ve been very helpful. We were looking at all the high end range brands and went into Best Buy and had a look at Viking. We liked what we saw and the price was more economical for the quality that we get compared to the others. We had a very good sales rep who was able go into detail about a Viking range and what to expect from it versus a lower end priced brand. He explained things like how to clean the oven and how high heat with the self-cleaning ovens would typically end up destroying the integrity of the inside enameling. He gave a variety of information about little details that we would not think of.We got the series 5 which is easy to clean and does not deteriorate compared to the standard stove. It also cooks differently as theres an even heat. Plus, it also comes with the pull-out drawer in the oven which I love. My only two gripes is my particular series doesn’t come with a timer where I can time the temperature within the oven or have a timer right there on my stove if I’m baking a cake. We went back a second time looking for the timer and the salesman said it’s been discontinued and was only available to a certain model. The other one is I can’t seem to remove any stains from the golden-looking metal that extrudes from the surface of the stove top where the burner is without scratching it. I’ve used soap and water and I’m afraid to do anything else because I don’t wanna destroy the surface. Other than those, it’s a nice-looking range.

10 years ago we did a remodel of our kitchen and game room after saving up for eight years to pay for it. I convinced my wife to purchase the Viking refrigerator over the Sub Zero which she really wanted. She had purchased a Viking range at our old house which she loved and we moved it to our new home. After it and the new refrigerator were installed I felt that it was perfect and I was proud of the fact that we were able to afford such a nice kitchen. Well soon after we had problems that everyone here has had and more. I have been holding back from blasting Viking on the net for a while. Tonight we came home to see water stains in our game room ceiling, coming from the kitchen upstairs right under the fridge. I followed the water line through the drop ceiling up under the fridge. All good, no water or leaks from the line or connection. Then I notice that the drip pan is MELTED completely and is stuck to the floor like TAR. So if you are reading this and you had over heating/thermostat and coolant leaks and ice buildups and gasket replacements and hinge recalls and numerous service calls. YOU better check your drip pan. Did I mention that I work for a moving company and bash Vikings name everywhere I can. Imagine moving furniture for 8 years to pay for this.

However, I found that Viking appliances as a whole are very simplistic. Its great in a refrigerator, but not so much in some of the other appliances. I had Jenn-Air previously and their appliances just had more features. But for refrigeration, it just needs to keep cool things cool and frozen things frozen. The refrigerator is the Viking appliance that we have that I like the best. It’s nice-looking and seems to be doing what it’s supposed to do. It also has a good amount of space. The lighting is nice. I was looking for a new range and I saw the Viking Range in the store and I really liked the look of it. We have known the owners of the store for a really long time and it was also the best brand that they sold. There are a couple of things that I was disappointed with like the front panel looked like it wasn’t finished correctly. It looked like it was almost rusty. But they ordered a new panel for that. And the first time I used it there was steam and something got in between the glass so they feel that the seal on the oven door wasn’t really correct and they ordered a new glass for the door. So we had a couple of issues but it’s my first experience with a gas range and I really like it so far. They are taking care of the issues so I’m pleased. Most of the stoves out there, you get one that maybe can put out the BTUs. But all the ones, Viking can do.Having now owned our second Viking, it seems, however, like the lighting on the burners is always a little tricky. Lighting the burners, its clicking and it’s not lighting and then I have to turn the knob. We have tenants in the condo that has a Viking and more often than not, especially when they’re new, people have a little issue lighting it and that’s one area that Viking could improve on. We had someone come out with the one in the condo and they said it was the igniter. We replaced that and the unit performed exactly the same way after, so it seems like it’s just the way it works.

I heard Viking Ranges are the best of the best so I bought them. I like that the range heats up my food and makes simple food. Great quality, too. The installers were really sweet and nice, as well. One of my stoves couldn’t come out so they helped me get it out and put the new one in. And its a great experience.

Ive always bought Viking products, and its been that forever. All their ranges, especially, have been terrific. I got a dual fuel range this time instead of an all-gas one. I bought it in an open-box store, so I didn’t have to deal with the Viking dealers who are inflexible on pricing and everything else. Ive had my old Viking range for 30 years and its still working fine. So, the new range is just an upgrade for my wife. The product is great and I love it.

Of the three Viking appliances I recently purchased, I love the range and dishwasher, however this is a 1-star review and that is due to the refrigerator having been nothing but problems. Viking sent a 3rd party repair person to correct the issue. Due to my location (apparently) it took the repair company 2 weeks to get out here, 5 weeks to order parts and another week to return. I live an hour outside of Pittsburgh and an hour from Cleveland, so the location really shouldnt be a problem. However, I waited 2 months to get the refrigerator fixed (it freezes our food - even when set to 37 degrees). The problem still persists. I called Viking Customer Care again today, and expressed my frustration not only with the quality of the product, but also the time it took (2 months) to get the repair parts installed and that didnt even fix the issue. I think Viking refrigerators are generally great, but I got a defective unit. And rather than send me a replacement unit (since weve already gone down the repair path). Viking is sending another repair technician to my home. The customer care representative, asked for my serial number. After providing it, she indicated that it wasnt valid - which she confirmed later on in our conversation that it was indeed correct. I also had to repeat my address several times. When she would look up a service option, and return to the screen she told me my address was gone. My appliances are all registered on Vikings website, why the customer care representative wasnt able to pull my information from that or from my previous support case seems counter-intuitive. For a supposed higher quality appliance, Im disappointed I wasnt provided higher quality of service. And I have to wonder how many times Ill be doing this until my refrigerator works as advertised, or until I give up and get rid of the unit. I NEVER had this issue with my Sub-Zero!

Viking Range Hood - We went with Viking and paid extra for the hood thinking we would get exactly what we wanted and good customer service. On delivery we were sent the wrong size chimney to fit the range. This was in April of 2016. The part was ordered and did not arrive until October 2016. When we finally received the part it had a scratch down the front of it which means it had to be reorder again. I have contacted customer service 2 times and cannot get an explanation to why it takes so long to get the correct part sent to us. This is a mistake that they made in the first place. We now have been told we may get it by the end of January 2017. Our kitchen backsplash has been hold for 8 months because of this issue. I would never buy from Viking again.

Weve owned a built-in Viking refrigerator before. The new home we purchased was a construction and the area was really unusual. They had already picked G.E. Monogram appliances but we heard their refrigerator wasnt good. We wanted a higher end refrigerator and since we had experience with Viking, we ordered one online through AJ Madison. It was a stand-alone and theres not many high-end companies that make a stand alone. We didnt have to pay self-tax and shipping. The refrigerator looks pretty cool and the functions are great. Weve been very happy with Viking.

We were trying to do a fixer-upper and we needed to renovate. Then, our realtor recommended Viking to us and we consulted with them. We went to a showroom in Reno, New Jersey and we also saw some from P.C. Richards. We did some research online to know what models we like then, we went to the showroom and ordered Viking. Their reps were all good as they know their products. We talked about what we wanted and they gave us a number of options and recommended all the different products. They gave us the pros and cons of each and the price point too. It was informative. However, we had a couple of issues. We ordered a professional range with a Viking label on it. So, we called the person and complained about it. Then, they sent out someone to fix it and it was fixed yesterday. Also, the LED light was not working on one of the double French ovens for some reason but the oven was working. The guy who did he fix said he would submit another ticket for us to order the part then they will come to fix it. Other than that, the quality of my Viking is good. I am happy with it and compared with Sub-Zero, which is one of the main competition, Viking has a good price. It is also well embossed.

I bought a house with a Viking range. I like the range, but I’m not happy with the oven --- I’m not able to really cook in the oven. The range, on the other hand, looks like a solid piece of equipment. The range is pretty and the stovetop cooking is my favorite feature.

I used to be a restaurant owner so Ive always known what a great product Viking gives out. My daughter is a chef so shes heard of them, and we have some friends that have Viking. Everything was great. The Viking dealer was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The range is perfect and has excellent quality. It was sturdy, perfectly flamed, and keeps the temperature. All is very good, and its a stove that I only buy once in a lifetime. Everything I need as a cook is there, and I dont need to buy anything else.

We want to have high end appliances and our refrigerator choice were between Viking and Wolf. But we felt Viking was more professional grade, so we went with it. Its overall quality was good, but the door was not aligned when they were delivered. So we had to follow up, and they brought a technician through the dealer to readjust the door. I was disappointed about that and I was not 100% satisfied. But in terms of the condition, its working fine, so Im good. So far, my experience with them was satisfactory and their product looks dependable.

My experience has been really bad at this point. Ive had Viking appliances before in another house and I was extremely happy with them but the refrigerator that we got is horrendous. The freezer doesnt close and the bottom drawers are not level. When you get the handle, the handle is loose and the doors feel like they are made out of aluminum. They are so light and clumsy. The refrigerator drawer has a middle handle and you have to hold it with two hands because if you hold it with one hand, it does nothing. Ive been complaining. This is beyond bad.

Im a chef and Ive been a Viking fan for the longest time. Ive been waiting to have it. I totally saved to have the money up to have a Viking kitchen. People come in and they go Wow. I dont know if theyre amazed by the performance or maybe the way it looks. Maybe it looks expensive, especially the microwave. I press the button and it pulls up and people freak out. I also have an oven and a fridge. My fridge is good and beautiful. It keeps the food fresh. Its classy and its nice. It has the part where if I wanna put the pizza in the bottom theres a storage for that. I love it however I got some issues that theyre supposed to take care of but because of the Coronavirus, I dont know what happened. Overall Viking is the best. They have a little competition there, but its not as good. What I like about Viking is it has a bold look to it and when you see it in the kitchen, it stands out. Im pretty happy and my kitchen is very exotic. I am satisfied all the way.

My husband did his research online about the stoves and he surprised me with a Viking for my 50th birthday. He bought it at Ferguson and had a wonderful experience with the saleswoman. He was told it was an updated version of the stove and it fit perfectly into our space. Were in a walk-up and the installation team, the two gentlemen that came and delivered, did a hell of a job. Everything went so smoothly. The stove is wonderful and beautiful. Plus, I love that the knobs have not only low, medium, high, but low medium. Because when youre doing a recipe, it goes medium low. So I like that it has more temperature points than just low, medium, high. However, the booklet was talking about how to broil and to make sure to use the broiling pan, and I was disappointed that the stove didnt come with a broiling pan. I assumed thered be one. I would have kept the one from my GE stove, but I threw it out. Also, after using nonprofessional stoves my whole adult life, Im having a hard time getting used to a stove that doesnt have a timer. Im getting better with it but its a weird change. But overall, the service and the product are excellent.

Do not buy Viking appliances. I have the professional series, dishwasher, stove, microwave, wall oven and built in refrigerator. I have had an issue with 3 of my appliances. The oven stop working after very limited use. The recalled parts did not get it working, so now I am told it is the DSI module. I have had much lower priced appliances with basically not problems, and NEVER had the oven/stove to go out after being only 6 years old. Viking appliances just look good on the outside and a piece of junk on the inside.

My wife and I perceived the Viking refrigerator as high quality just by certification. We like the look of it as well as the configuration with the door freezer and double open top. We also wanted to get a matching set for we did a remodeling in our kitchen. So far, we really like it but theres one thing that kind of drives me crazy, and its in the minor side. On the freezer, when you open that the big drawer down below, it has an ice maker, and you pull it out. The way the ice is dumped it into the tray and it builds up, about every fourth time, it pushes the ice behind and comes on the floor. But if I open it slowly, reach back, and try to move the ice, it doesnt happen. But sometimes, I forget. The other thing that weve experienced, and I dont know that its the refrigerators fault, is that if our power goes out or trips, then the power comes back on again, the refrigerator doesnt automatically come back on. That could be bad and we initially had a problem when we first got the refrigerator. Aside from that, sometimes we spend a couple of weeks away from the house. Were trying to figure out if theres a way I could get a beeper on my panel or something that would tell me that the fridge is off. But I want it to just automatically cycle back on when the power comes back on.Also, I wish they can come up with something a little better and easier to remove than that plastic coating that they put on it to protect it during transportation. Its really a great idea to have that protective plastic but it is a royal pain to remove it for installations. Other than that, I feel like we got good value on the Viking refrigerator, so Im pretty happy.

I’ve known about Viking Refrigerators for years and I purchased from them because of the warranty. I’m happy overall with the fridge, but I expected a little better quality of the drawer pull-outs and the freezer. They’re kind of flimsy. Also, during the purchasing process, I had a horrible experience as it took forever to get the fridge purchased. It was not a streamlined process. And when we were having this horrendous noise, we ended up having to go back to the store two or three times before they would finally send somebody out. It turned out that their delivery people left a big cardboard in the back which was causing the problems. All we had to do was remove it. I also wish the fridge had a water dispenser.

I had an excellent experience with the Viking dealer. Their professionalism and knowledge of the product were good. The Viking refrigerator is good overall, but we had issues when we got it. We bought a brand new house and all the appliances were Viking. The original refrigerator that was discontinued was really substandard in the sense that the design was flawed. The freezer is at the bottom half so anything that tumbled from the refrigerator fell on the freezer and the freezer frame was dented. It kept getting dented. I wasnt very happy with the quality so I had to replace that with the model that came about after it was discontinued. I was trying to replace the bottom freezer and I called their parts department and one was better, but the other was charging me $2,000 just for the bottom freezer while a new model costs $3,500. Theres just no recourse as far as their customer service. In addition, somebody recognized that the design was flawed, so they changed it. The freezer frame was no longer stainless steel. It was very very hard plastic and it didnt jut out anymore. So, its horrible that such a design was at all created. There was no quality control. We then got a new refrigerator from Best Buy and they were pretty good except for the delivery that had so much bumbling all over the place. The first people who delivered it didnt know how to handle refrigerators because the foot was dented. Im very dissatisfied with all the Viking appliances we had and Im never going to recommend Viking ever.

I wish I had read these reviews before I bought my brand new Viking refrige
I wish I had read these reviews before I bought my brand new Viking refrigerator this year. Here is an excerpt from my letter to the editor of Consumer Reports Shop Smart Magazine about Viking. They had a piece in their latest October 2012 issue on recalled dangerous products and the Viking refrigerator is among the top 10 and clearly verifies the companys lack of responsibility.Letter to Editor: I wanted to thank you for your recent coverage on the top 10 Dangerous Recalled Products and the companies that are in the Hall of Shame. I am a very dissatisfied Viking customer and was an owner of the refrigerator that was on recall. The fridge was recalled because of faulty and dangerous door hinges. Viking replaced the hinges and then soon after, the replacement parts themselves were on recall! The Viking recall center called me to offer me a new fridge at 50% off. I took them up on the offer because my fridge was over 10 years old and is a built-in. I thought it would be nice to have a new fridge that would be similar to the old one and fit into the built-in space in my kitchen. I got the new fridge in February of this year and have constantly had problems with it overheating and spoiling my food. I have had it repaired many times under the warranty but it continues to have the same problems. The Viking techs seem to be at a loss as to how to permanently fix it and have now been slow in getting back to me. I continue to have a fridge that I cannot count on and a company that I cannot count on either. I have had to purchase a small dorm-size fridge to put in my high-end kitchen right next to my high-end Viking fridge that doesnt work properly. I was not surprised and somewhat relieved to see the article in your magazine about Viking. I now know that I am dealing with a company that fails to report defective products and continues to produce defective products. The lack of responsibility that this company shows to their customers and to the consumer is appalling and they deserve to be in the Hall of Shame. I am writing to their President and CEO and am enclosing a copy of your article in my letter. Thank you again for looking out for the consumer.

I went from electric to gas with the Viking range. Aside from wanting gas, I liked the looks of it and the knobs. Theyre big and theyre easy to use. I like the sliding rack too but they should have two of them in there and not just one. Also, when we got the range home, the convection oven did not work. I didnt know it for a while because I didnt use it. But Viking was really prompt about getting it taken care of and getting a man out here to fix it. Ive had it for a couple of months now and everything has been great so far. We also bought the microwave and the convection on it didnt work. Because Viking dropped the ball on that one, they just ordered us a new one and sent it out instead of having the microwave repaired. Theyve taken care of us really good.

I went to culinary school and we used Viking ranges all the time so I know that theyre reliable. They cook well and very evenly which is awesome. They usually dont break which is very good. Unfortunately, we had some problems with the one we got. The racks in it dont slide out. We also had a problem with one of the burners that wouldnt light. Were still waiting for pieces to come in for a few months now. The company has been fine but since theyve come to fix it, we still havent heard anything about the parts coming in. I’m sorry to say that this $7000+ refrigerator is the biggest piece of crap I ever owned as an appliance. I spent $1000 for custom panels too when I bought it in 2009 for my kitchen remodel. It broke so many times that it made me cry. I took care of the recalls with the door, had a new seal, had to change all the electronics on top, freezer always breaks and leaks, changed the fan too. I really want this replaced with something else. It’s all built-in too. Kitchen-aid made the same size in 36.” Wish I got that instead. Everything in my kitchen is KitchenAid and I’m quite pleased with it.

I have always dreamed of having Viking appliances. I moved into a new house and my wish came true, Viking refrigerator, Viking double ovens, Viking 6 burner gas stove and Viking warming drawer. This came with a hefty price tag but I was over the moon. A few issues with the appliance company, that was a little over 5 yrs ago. Then May 2014, out of warranty we were told by Viking and had to replace the motherboard in both ovens!!! To the tune of over $500. Viking had issues with this problem so extended warranty slightly on newer ovens, so they were aware of problems in past ovens. Fast forward 2 yrs and both ovens are down again. Big pop and smoke. Both ovens again. I have left messages with Viking. No response as of yet.
