Just purchased a home with GE Appliances. Dishwasher suddenly wont start and showing 1H code. Nothing in the user manual that explains what this means. Called customer support. After they requested unnecessary personal information (like email address, physical address, etc.), I was finally able to ask what this code meant. She went straight to, We are unable to provide that information over the phone. We have to send one of our service technicians out to your home. She refused to tell me what the code meant, and instantly wanted to charge me for tech visit. I hung up. Then I googled it, and found out right away that it meant the start was paused/delayed for 1 hour. I had hit the delay button by mistake. This was not specified in the manual under Delay Start, nor was customer support trained or willing to provide the answer to such a simple question. GE Support is just a Scam.

I have had it with GE! Only 18 months after install, my beautiful, stainless, three-rack, GE, top-dollar dishwasher will not turn on. Repair attempts have been futile. Tech said not to expect more than seven years service out of new appliances. Were tossing this junk and buying CHEAP replacements going forward since all we have to choose from is throw away products. OEMs like GE should realize they are shooting themselves in the foot with their planned obsolescence business plan.

Bought the new dishwasher in Dec. 2013. In November 2014 a month shy of warranty expire, the detergent dispenser did not release or partially released the detergent. GE sent out A&E Factory service to fix. First visit initiated the parts order which was a new computer board and a Cascade Series detergent dispenser. A month later the second visit to install parts, the A&E tech was at our home for 3 hours and it took that long to remove and replace detergent dispenser. The tech did not replace computer board stating it was not needed? A week later the detergent dispenser still did not release the detergent! Called back to set up another appointment which was at the earliest Jan 19th 2015. Meanwhile last Friday Jan. 9th 2015 the dishwasher started to smoke heavily causing smoke detector to go off at 9 p.m. at night. Thank goodness!! We were home so that I could disconnect the power. Third visit was 1/12/15 and was informed by Lead A&E tech that the board should have been replaced and that the tech that was sent out was a trainee and inexperienced to work on my dishwasher. He should of never worked on my dishwasher(!!) according to the Lead A&E tech. The Lead A&E tech also stated that my model has had a problem with the computer boards which is essentially the brain of the dishwasher. I am currently taking my fight back to GE since A&E Factory is a subcontractor to GE and is not authorized to replace appliances. I told GE that I want a new dishwasher that is not using the problem computer boards even if it is an upgrade. It is not our fault that they have work with A&E who send out inexperienced techs to work on complicated GE appliances. We want a dishwasher that we both feel safe to run while we are not home. Is that too much to ask for?

I have purchased a GE microwave/convection oven 7 months ago. A month ago, the control panel broke down and it would not turn on. I called up customer service and a technician was sent after a week. They have diagnosed it and the motherboard needed to be replaced. The said part was ordered and I was told it would be delivered in 2-3 days and a service will be scheduled in a week. A week came and no parts showed up. I have called up customer advocate and they assured me the said part will be delivered in time for the service appointment.Unfortunately, when they came, the said parts have not been delivered and I was given the lame excuse of systems failure; the request has not gone through their system. So the technician assured me that he will put in an overnight request for the said parts and the oven could be fixed within the week. He even gave me his work and cell number for me to call if I have any inquiries. But he never picks up or even returns my calls. So another service appointment was scheduled and parts were delivered, only to find out that it was the wrong parts, supposedly for another customer and for a different microwave model. Its really frustrating when people keep on reassuring that they are going to get it done, but has done nothing but lip service. Its been over a month and my microwave is still a broken microwave. I have learned my lesson and will never again in my life time purchase a GE appliance. PS: I should have listened to the Home Depot guy that sold me this microwave.

PDT845SMJES - I purchased the entire GE Profile series when we remodeled our kitchen in October 2016. The first time I started the dishwasher, it leaked out the bottom of the door. The store where I purchased it sent out a plumber who discovered the soap dispenser was missing the seal. Took a week to order and replace the seal. Worked fine for 5 weeks. Then, on December 17, 2016, it quit mid cycle and I got the leak detected error message. Now I am in dishwasher hell. The store where I bought it said they were too busy to come and check it, so they told me to call GEs customer service number. GE sent out a plumber from Iowa (I live in SD). He removed the bottom panel, to look underneath and decided it needed a new pump and also a new soap dispenser part. That was on back order, so I had to wait until January 11, 2017 for him to come back. When he pulled out the dishwasher to replace the pump, he discovered the tub was leaking along the left side. He said the unit could not be fixed and suggested I call the store where I originally purchased it. They agreed the unit could not be fixed and contacted GE and got me a case number and said GE would call me by the end of the week. Im still waiting for that call. Do NOT buy this model GE dishwasher. GE apparently doesnt stand behind its products and the stores that sell GE are helpless to do anything for you.

In January 2013, my husband and I purchased new appliances from Home Depot,
In January 2013, my husband and I purchased new appliances from Home Depot, including the above referenced dishwasher. The first dishwasher was delivered broken. The display panel was detached from the body of the dishwasher. At that point, I was concerned about the quality of the product. From the way it was detached, it appeared to be very cheaply made. (It was also installed incorrectly, causing a leak under our sink and ruining the bottom of our cabinetry. We settled this with Home Depot, but I include this detail to help emphasize my frustration over this whole situation.)When I contacted Home Depot about the faulty product, they agreed to provide a replacement, so I decided to give it another try. I wish now that I had simply returned the product and purchased another brand. Upon receiving the new dishwasher, I noticed immediately that the edge of the inner rack was scratched so badly that the plastic coating was gone, and rust had already begun to appear. I had to call customer service and get replacement racks. (More on this to follow.) Allow me to detail our service call records:Call #1. Heat dry didnt work at all. The technician told me that I needed to run the water in the sink and make sure it was very hot before running the dishwasher, and he changed the settings. This created a slight improvement, but not much.Call #2. Soon after, detergent tabs started to get stuck in the dispenser cups. I was using the exact brand recommended in the manual. The technician told me that detergent tabs were just the worst, and that I should try gel detergent, even though this is contrary to what the manual states. The detergent ruined my silverware, and I have had to purchase a new set, which I now hand wash.Call #3. Using gel detergent did not work. Technician came back, and told me the wrong replacement racks were sent. That must be what was blocking the water from getting to the soap. He ordered another replacement rack. He brought a plastic door, watched the water, and told me the upper arm wasnt spinning fast enough. He made an adjustment and claimed to fix that.Call #4. Detergent still not emptying from the cup. A different technician came back and used the plastic door. He found a different problem, but did not have the parts to fix it, so, another service call had to be scheduled.Call #5. Technician comes back, and finally fixes the detergent cup problem. For now.Call #6. Heat dry now does not work at all. There is so much water on the dishes that I have to hand dry them, and afterward, I have to mop my floor. There is just a massive amount of water in the dishwasher. In addition, it will not start except on a one-hour delay. Pushing the delay button does nothing to change the settings, and does not allow me to scroll through like it should. This appointment is scheduled for today, but I am not hopeful that anything will change. At this point, I have no faith that this dishwasher will ever work. Customer service did extend my warranty for six months, but that is the only concession I have gotten from them. That extension will expire soon, and I fear that at that point I will simply have to spend another $600 on a new dishwasher and leave this one on the curb. Its unacceptable for any consumer to have to purchase a new dishwasher less than two years after purchasing from GE.

Due to my hectic work schedule, my dishwasher was installed about 2 weeks later. 5. Dishwasher was not cleaning. 6. Technician came out another week later and I was told it was MISSING parts from the manufacturing plant and should have never passed QC. In addition, It was missing the bottom spinner and the top spinner was snapped off. The technician glued it back on.7. This GE dishwasher is not designed to last. The exterior outlook is unfortunately poor. It is not water conservative, makes noise during the cycle, does not dry dishes very well which inevitably means a poor conductor of heat. I will not buy anything like this product again! I wish I can get something that is economical and energy efficient this time around. I had a GE dishwasher installed by the builder when I purchased my home. The dishwasher had a fire in the wiring harness for the energy save drying switch. The dishwasher was under warranty and was repaired by GE without issue, and they told me it was safe. About 2 years later, GE recalled the dishwasher for having started numerous fires throughout the country. As part of the recall program, GE offered incentives towards the purchase of a new dishwasher; however, unless you purchased another GE dishwasher, you received virtually nothing. I purchased the top of the line GE Triton performance plus dishwasher and had it professionally installed, and given my previous dishwashers history, I purchased an extended warranty from GE. This new allegedly top of the line dishwasher blew a hose and flooded my kitchen, causing several thousand dollars in damage to the floor / sub floor and ceiling below. GE was contacted, came out, and made a repair; and my damage claim was paid by GEs insurance carrier Electric insurance. Once again, 2 years later, this same dishwasher blew a hose and flooded my kitchen and downstairs. I contacted GE and found that my warranty had been sold by GE to an outside company named Assurant without my knowledge. They were unable to provide me with a service appointment for about 2 weeks and advised me not to touch anything until the damage was documented by a GE technician or my damage claim would be denied. I contacted GE customer service and explained the circumstances and that the water damage would need to be mitigated in order to prevent additional damage to my home. GE scheduled a sooner appointment, but they failed to show up. I called GE again; they rescheduled for the following day and failed to show again. GE was re-contacted, and they scheduled a third appointment with A&E, a GE affiliated outside repair service. This time, the technician arrived but was unable to do anything unless I made a cash payment to him, as GE failed to include my extended warranty information when they booked my appointment. I re-contacted GE, and the next available appointment date was more than two weeks away. I was concerned that the water damage would cause mold and create an electrical hazard due to wet wiring, and the water caused the laminate floor and sub floor in my kitchen and downstairs den to warp and buckle. I was forced to contact my homeowners insurance in order to get this damage addressed. GE has been unable to get anyone to my home to address the situation. In total, I have spent about 16 hours on the telephone remaining on hold an average of 1 to 1 1/2 hours for each call, only to be told there was nothing they could do or that no supervisor was available or authorized to do anything. Assurant advised me they would look into it and get back to me, but I have yet to receive a return call. GE corporate headquarters was contacted, and they were polite but unable to accomplish anything either. I am removing the appliance myself and having it replaced at my own expense with any brand other than GE. I would strongly urge anyone making an appliance purchase to choose another brand; GEs appliances, customer service, and repair service are all unreliable and well below standards based on the hundreds of dollars we spend on appliances. My decision to purchase a GE dishwasher has resulted in damage to my home in excess of $10,000.00 and an unbelievable amount of frustration and aggravation waiting for repair personnel that dont show and waiting on hold to speak to people who can do nothing for you. If I performed this badly at my job, I would have been fired a long time ago. Learn from my situation and dont buy GE!

I may be speaking too soon because I need to run my dishwasher again to make sure the minor leak truly has been fixed, but I am very impressed with the responsiveness of GE customer support. There was virtually no wait to talk to a rep about my 2-month-old dishwasher with a drip (plus water was collecting inside). Less than twenty four hours after my call, a friendly man was at my door to fully diagnose and then correct the issue. This was the cheapest, bottom-of-the line model that they so quickly came to service! Now in an ideal world, a new dishwasher wouldnt need any servicing at all, but I think all dishwashers are pretty finicky so at the moment, Im pleased.

Wife started using the microwave. Within a minute she smelled something burning. She opened the door and a flame shot out. Thankfully she remained at the microwave as it was running. Could have been catastrophic if the microwave continued to run for another minute. There is a charred 2 inch section at a circular piece in the inside top of the microwave.

Absolutely silent! Several features and cycles such as crystal, normal, pots and pans and drying options such as air dry or heat dry. Standard size dishwasher. The key is in the loader. Stainless steel with no handle or anything plastic. Flush. Stainless interior as well. It did have a food disposal but to avoid smells since we start the dishwasher only twice a week, we rinsed off our dishes. Another important element we learned from the previous dishwasher is to use the heat dry if you want your load to be dry with as little puddles of water as possible.

We selected this microwave because it has a toaster and baking feature as our small kitchen would be better without a toaster oven taking up space. Turns out user must change accessories from glass to metal when using the toaster and baking feature. The space needed to store accessories rendered the space saving concept as useless. Also, the toasting is slow and does not quite equal what a toaster oven accomplishes. Also the baking/convection mode is so noisy, one cannot hear radio/tv. 30 minutes for a baked potato is a long time for excessive noise. We bought from Kitchen Solutions in the Bronx about May 2014.

We purchased this dishwasher for our rental. The last dishwasher was over 30 years old and still working but the racks were coming apart so we opted for a new one from Home Depot. A year later our tenants called saying when they used the dishwasher it rained in the basement. Our maintenance man called and said the dishwasher melted a hole in the right side about 1.5 inches by a 1/4 inch. Midway to the heater element. He did a temp fix with silicone.I called GE Recall number and was told it was not on a recall list. I called customer service and was told they would waive the service call. I explained this was a FIRE HAZARD. They insisted all they could do is send their tech out for repair. Since I paid about 280 dollars for the dishwasher I decide a service call would probably run near that and told them NO! I am now sending all information to consumer affairs department with my STATE REPRESENTATIVE. I also am putting the fire hazard info out there on facebook and twitter. I am waiting for someone else to say they also had a fire hazard. This should be on a recall list!

My prior GE ref was 13 years old. New one, now four months old, has cut my electric bill by 40%, runs much more quietly. It is a 15.3 cu feet side-by-side; the top area of the refer side has a bulky light cover that interferes with what you can put on the top shelf. The pockets on the inside door of the freezer side are a bit too small. But, all things considered, it's a great unit and I'd probably buy it again, considering the price.

We bought a GE dishwasher a little over 3 years ago. In the last week of September we awoke to the smell of hot or melted plastic. We found the source to be the dishwasher. I had loaded and started it before going to bed the night before. The counter-top above the dishwasher was stove top hot and upon opening the dishwasher found that a cutting board that we have had for many years and have always put in the dishwasher had melted on top of the heating coil. Dishwasher safe items on the top rack melted as well. It had been drying for at least 9 hours. After pulling the dishwasher out we saw the heat shield had melted and was crumbling. We contacted GE, sent them all the pictures and they told us it was not a safety issue. We have no doubt that if we had not woken up so early we would have had a fire in our house caused by the dishwasher.

Of course, I rinse my dishes, but Ive had few incidences of dishes coming out dirty. Hot start, start (long wash), short wash, rinse only and plate warmer. The interior is set up well with a good variety of spaces. I would say its a normal-sized household dishwasher, not compact, with approximately a 24 width, 24 depth and height. White with gray lettering; four buttons and one dial. Simple design that is easy to understand and operate. The run-time of this dishwasher is quite long, and it is very loud.

I had a new house build and it came with all GE appliances. The dishwasher Model GDT530PSD255 was not drying the dishes and the run time could be as much as 3 hours. The service man was there with in week. He said the dishwasher was working properly. After running through the cycles he said its working just fine. I open the door and it was all wet and the silverware tray and the silverware was wet and some soap was still on the door. He said everybody complains about the same thing. High efficiency Dishwasher have long run cycles and most dont dry to well. The silverware trays hold water because the tray sides are flat (horizontal) and that holds about a half of cup of water. All they have to do is put them on a 45 degree angle and the water will run off. Apparently it worked well on paper and no one actually ran it through its cycle. Needless to say I hate this dishwasher and its almost at the point to do them by hand. A lot of time is spent drying off dishes and silverware.

We purchased our new GE Over-the-Range Microwave (model HVM1750DPWW, 1.7 cu. ft.) for $269.00 in February of 2012 and in August of 2013 it started to malfunction. Specifically the microwave would start on its own whenever we would OPEN the door. Now the microwave does not work at all (with the door closed or open). Based on the feedback that I have read in some of the posts on this site, I will replace the microwave since the maker can no longer be trusted to manufacture units that are robust and safe. But what manufacturer can be trusted at this point? It is my understanding that all microwaves (from all major companies) are currently made overseas with poor materials and highly suspect safety and quality standards. (Note - previous GE Microwave [same type - over the range] lasted for 14 years.) Thanks to Consumer Affairs for allowing us to post unfavorable reviews.

After several attempts to get recommended parts and repairs we are now having additional issues. The quality of the GE brand has really gone down compared to our older products that lasted 15+ years. I have a 3 and a half year old GE Cafe Dishwasher which I paid over $1400 for and yesterday, when I ran it, I had a couple of cups melted when I opened it. This morning, I opened it to remove the remaining dishes. I closed the door to it and left for work. I did not run it again, just emptied it. My husband came home about an hour after I left to a house filled with smoke and the smell of melted plastic. He opened the dishwasher and found everything inside melted. The spinners, the silverware holder and all the plastic rack dividers were totally melted.Apparently, the heating element stuck on and overheated it. If he hadnt come home when he did, I believe our home would have caught fire. He said the whole kitchen was much hotter than the rest of the house. The service repair man said it cant be fixed because it got so hot it melted the seals in the motor. It was not a wiring problem with the house. It was a problem with the dishwasher itself. So now, I am out $1400 plus a house full of very toxic smelling smoke.

Our GE Microwave Oven/Convection Oven Combo (Model: PT970SRSS) is a little over 2 years old. The interior paint on the ceiling of the microwave oven is chipping and bare metal is exposed. In addition, the microwaves glass turntable frequently slips off its plastic tripod base. Circular scratch marks, which also expose the underlying metal are evident in the area which is located directly below the glass turntable. The circular scratches are a direct result of the glass turntable scraping against the paint. The GE repairman said chipped paint is not repairable and that paint should not ever chip in a microwave, let alone a relatively new microwave. After many calls back and forth to the GE Consumer Relations person, we were offered a new combo at a discounted rate of approximately $1,000. (We paid around $2,000 originally.) Im not satisfied with this offer. I strongly feel that consumers should NOT have to pay to replace a defective item. GE needs to pull these defective and dangerous products off the market! I purchased a GE Microwave oven, model #JVM1540DP1BB and, in seven months, the interior paint started peeling. I contacted the company and they said, go ahead and use it. It wont hurt anything. (Well, actually, it doesnt heat as well now.) They offered me a discount on another GE Microwave. I advised them that the oven was manufactured three months prior to my purchase and so the Microwave was only ten months from birth to death - it was also made in Malaysia and so was purchased practically straight off the boat - and should have been covered under warranty. The response to that was, Im sorry. Im only authorized... Fine. Let me talk to your boss, I said.I was connected to another company mouthpiece who promised to send a serviceman out to look at it. The next week, said serviceman did come to the house. He told me they could take it in and ...see if they could fix it or they could give me a discount on another one. Again I iterated that the microwave should be replaced at no cost. He flat out told me, They wont do that.My next fiasco with this danger trap was several months later when it started turning on of its own accord. So, we had to keep the oven unplugged at all times unless actively in use. I again contacted GE and was again advised that they would be happy to offer me a discount on another... blah, blah, blah. After a couple of years of using this machine, I called GE one last time. I spoke to the regional vice-president, Gary **. The response this time was truly mind-boggling. They had no record of my having called previously!!! But, after telling them I felt their product was inherently defective by design and, not only would I never purchase another GE product EVER, I have emptied my house of any and all GE products right down to the light bulbs, have purged my mothers house, and advise everyone I know of my experience, recommending they, too, do not patronize GE.He began repeatedly screaming at me, What do you want me to do? I told him that, two or three years previous, I wanted them to replace a defective microwave. Now, and following their abhorrent customer service, I wouldnt want anything from them and, if they were to tell me the sky was blue and water was wet, I would not believe them. I was not inclined to pay six hundred dollars yearly for a new microwave oven, so there was nothing they had I would ever want. I then pointed out that I purchased a Sony microwave for my mother when my grandson was six years old. Hes twenty-four now and both the id and the oven are still going strong. Then HE hung up on ME! I have noticed others here who have had similar experience with GE Microwaves so my recommendation to anyone considering a new microwave oven is to steer clear of GE at all costs. I only gave them a one star rating because I couldnt give them a negative star rating.

I purchased a stainless steel GE dishwasher for $508.68 since I remodeled my kitchen October 2016, I contacted GE in March 2017 because the stainless steel on the dishwasher door started to have rust spots, they sent a technician to look at it, they told me that they cannot replace it because the aesthetic warranty is only good for 30 days. They authorized the technician to replace the door, however I have the same issue with the new door, and also the dishwasher stopped working. I contacted them again. The technician was able to fix the dishwasher, but as far as the stains on the door they told me thats an aesthetic issue. They cant do anything about it. I called the consumer relations department. I spoke with CIARA GE case # **. They offered me a small discount and I have to come up with $400.00 to buy a new dishwasher.I feel that a good business should always stand behind its products. The dishwasher obviously is defective, they sold me an appliance that supposed to be stainless steel but its something else, the right thing for GE to do is to exchange the defective product for the right one. I am very frustrated that in less than a year I have to spend over $900.00 for a dishwasher. I am great customer for GE, I remodeled my kitchen, I purchased a GE refrigerator, cooktop, oven, kitchen hood, microwave and dishwasher, I think I deserve better than a small discount for a defective product.

Our $599 GE dishwasher of 3 years is literally falling apart. We have a GE Slate Colored Stainless Steel Interior Dishwasher (GDT580SMFES) and over the past two weeks, the water stopped heating and 2 seals in the dishwasher started disintegrating. If you touch the seals (the main gasket at the bottom of the dishwasher and the main seal that keeps water from leaking outside of the dishwasher), parts of the seals come off on your fingers. We bought our dishwasher through Lowes with the extended protection plan and were having a hell of a time getting it fixed... Every time we call to make an appointment, its a minimum of 15 minutes on hold and it takes FOREVER for the new part to arrive/get the new part installed (almost 3 weeks now). So disappointed in our appliance and in Lowes for selling us such a lousy extended warranty. Never again!

The GE MICROWAVE MODEL JVM6175EF1ES was manufactured in August 2015. I purchased it in November of 2015, brand new from Home Depot. It was not installed until April 2016. So less than 2 years after installation it malfunctioned. (The unit brand new only has a 1 year warranty). The parts the tech replaced have a 5 year warranty. That demonstrates to me that GE does not have a lot of faith in their appliances. Aside from that I paid $375 for the repair, thats almost the price of a new microwave. But I paid since it made more sense to have a 5 year warranty on the parts instead of a 1 year with a brand new unit. I WILL NOT be buying GE products in the future due to this product defect.

I had a blow up with my GE microwave which came with 2 metal racks. I used the rack once and the microwave flared up as if I had warmed something on aluminum foil. I removed the racks. The microwave is 2 years old. Last week I warmed a chocolate chip cookie on a paper plate for 10 seconds. Immediately the microwave flared up, the plastic bracket that the shelf rest on burned and melted. I was lucky no one was hurt or a fire resulted. GE came to inspect the microwave and offered to replace it for $258.80. I am arguing with GE. I want them to replace it free of charge. My husband ran our 4-year old GE stainless steel dishwasher (PDW8980N00SS)
My husband ran our 4-year old GE stainless steel dishwasher (PDW8980N00SS) at 9 pm, 2/4/13. At 11 pm, he emptied and put away the dishes. At midnight, we went to bed. At 4:50 am on 2/5/13, we were awakened by a burning smell and discovered the heating element of the dishwasher either turned back on or never turned off. We were unable to touch the granite counter, the front of the dishwasher, and both wooden cabinets on either side of the dishwasher were very warm. The spinning arms and other plastic parts were melted. The only way it could be turned off was to unplug it from the outlet in the cabinet. We were leaving for the airport at 7:30 am on 2/5/13, so needless to say, we would have lost our home if this occurred a couple of hours later. The Assurant tech said it was repairable and ordered a part, which would take at least a week. Assurant customer service had us call GE. When we stated we didnt want the faulty dishwasher repaired, but wanted a new dishwasher, the best the GE customer service rep could offer us was 38-40% off several new different Profile dishwashers. After reading page after page of bad reviews, most of which detail either one or multiple fires from different GE dishwashers, we dont even want another GE dishwasher in our home. We already needed the smart soap dispenser replaced, since it clogs periodically and doesnt wash dishes very well. We also have a countertop GE Profile microwave, and the turntable motor has gone out 3 times so far. Weve purchased the replacement motors ourselves since it isnt under Assurant insurance. Not sure what the resolution will be on the dishwasher, but wed be happy if GE would give us at least $500 toward a different brand dishwasher. I know well never ever buy another GE appliance after this. We wouldnt sleep at night or ever want to go out of the house without unplugging another GE dishwasher, so dont want one.

This review is related to the Monogram 2.2 Cu. Ft. Built-In Microwave Oven model #ZEB1227SLSS. The GE site: https://appliances.monogram.com/us/specs/ZEB1227SLSS indicates in two places that the built-in trim kit is included (and one place where it is listed as additional), yet GE has confirmed that in fact, the trim kit is an optional add-on with a $325 additional cost. Me: Your website says its included, and is in a section with other features that are in fact included but not additional fees; GE: We have confirmed that the trim kit costs extra. We have, in fact, purchased the oven and are awaiting its installation, and I have other experience with GE Monogram appliances so I expect this to operate well. But I cannot understand their reluctance to acknowledge this error on their site. Potential buyers, please beware of this issue.

I purchased a GE Profile stocks in 2007 and a GE microwave model JVM7195SK1SS purchased 12/30/16. We have replaced the knobs on the stove 2 times because of peeling in the past. Now we need to replace the microwave handle. The handles and knobs look like metal but they are cheaply made white plastic covered with a sharp silver coating that peels. It appears the knobs get overheated when the oven opens and the microwave handle from the steam when cooking on the stove. Last night I cut my hand on the handle! We reordered the faulty handle and now getting charge $100 from GE. The company should take responsibility for their poor design and replace it for free with a nonpeeling part. I know that we will get the same handle and won’t be able to use the burner below or hope that using the fan will keep it from cracking again. I would never recommend a GE product again.

We remodeled our kitchen three years ago and purchased three GE cafe products: the dishwasher, microwave, and stove. The stove has been wonderful, no problems. The microwave was defective when we purchased but was easily repaired by the install of a new circuit board (I believe that is what it was called). Anyhow, no problems since. The dishwasher has been a big disappointment (it too needed a new circuit board) in regards to its performance. Dishes come out looking horrible as if there is still soap on them! I tried different types of soaps, the liquid, tabs, and rinse aids. Nothing seemed to work! I finally gave up on the liquid and my husband cleaned out the liquid dispenser completely and I only used the tabs as the results seemed to be a bit better. I regretted trashing our 15+ year old dishwasher that worked wonderfully! I am giving my review three stars because my coworker suggested I try a product called Lemi Shine (you can purchase at Target). I was not hopeful but it was the answer to my dishwasher prayers! It is incredible and I have used it for a few months now and have no complaints about my dishwasher’s performance. I use only the tab dispenser (Finish Powerball) and then I sprinkle Lemi Shine around the tab and my dishes are clean with NO residue! As an added bonus, the inside of the dishwasher is spic and span too! I guess I didnt notice how filmy and cloudy it had become. Try Lemi Shine and I hope it works for all of you too!

I bought a 1.6 cu ft microwave at Christmas, microwave failed within a month (electric burning smell and microwave quit). Contacted GE to replace and was given a run around (told to buy first, send them the receipt, then they sent a check). Finally they replaced now - have the same issue with the new one. Never buy a GE appliance, I certainly will not!!

My GE microwave oven turns on by itself. The GE microwave oven model number: JVM1540DN1WW. The serial number is: RS903539B. My GE microwave oven turns on by itself usually as if the one minute express button was pressed in. This has been occurring for about 2 years and has been doing this normally when the air conditioner is not turned on. It appears this is a humidity issue. All summer it has been working fine. As the weather has started to be lower and we turned off the air conditioner, the problem has come back. When the temperature rises and we put the AC on again the unit will work fine. We live in Florida and it can be humid outside but with the AC turned on the humidity is lower and the microwave will work fine.

We purchased a GE dishwasher model GDF 510 in December 2012. We have had three service calls with a fourth one recommended. The first complaint was that dishes were not dry at the end of the cycle. After service calls to replace a faulty heater and install two computer upgrades, the silverware still is not dry. Finally after about 45 minutes into the cycle, it leaks onto the floor. GEs answer is to send another service technician. No thank you! They can have their dishwasher back.

The GE dishwasher was in place in the home that we bought in 2017. I like the stainless steel outer color, the noise level is minimal, which I like. The options for different cleaning levels are great. It does a good job at cleaning our dishes. My only negative comment is that it was new when the house was built in 2017. For the past three months it has been stopping repeatedly, multiple times, mid-cycle so that you have to repulse the start button multiple times to finish the cycle. It is barely three years old and seems to already be giving out which means we will have to replace it, probably soon.

My GE microwave (Model: JVM1540SN1SS) that I bought new two years ago for $250.00 broke already. The table doesnt turn and nothing heats up even though the timer works. There are only two adults in the household using it, and we dont even use it very often. I find this pitiful service. My last microwave lasted about 15 years.

Model gdt580sgfbb - About 2 weeks after the warranty expired, the dishwasher stopped filling with water. So, our friend replaced the water inlet valve. No change. If you pour water into it, it kinda pushed it around, but empties it out, wont refill, and starts whining. Then, if you open it, and turn it off, and re -shut it, it starts itself back up again! What?! This stupid thing is essentially brand New! To be truthful, it has never cleaned very well, leaving residue on dishes, and NEVER getting dishes dry. I regret buying this item! And its still not fixed. I will not buy another GE appliance.

Two years less three weeks after we started using the dishwasher in our new home the plastic at the top of the door where all the buttons are cracked. So far it hasnt interfered with the way its working, but were on alert that it might not be too long. Ive owned dishwashers before, one for 32 years, one for 9 years. There is no acceptable reason for there to be a crack in less than 2 years. This, coupled with a refrigerator that had a broken drawer in 13 months, I will NEVER buy another GE product again!

GE microwave model JES1344ES. This is a stainless steel with black accent 1.34 cubic foot microwave oven. It looks great. The micro is heavy for its size. The stainless steel is brushed and low luster finish. The door handle is chrome as is some of the other accent pieces. The push button panel is easy to read and has a large knob for making manual time adjustments. The light inside is very bright. There is a rotating platter in the oven compartment that is not knocked off of its guide rollers very easy. The push button panel is a glossy black material that is easy to attract fingerprints. The preset times that are programmed in the microwave is the only part of the product that could be an issue. For example the popcorn button when used has burnt all of the different brands of microwave popcorn that we have tried. It is set about 30 seconds too long. There is no way to adjust the preset time that I can figure out. We set the time with the large knob manually and the popcorn comes out just fine. The preset times for the Auto Defrost are also a bit off. They are not long enough. We also have a Subzero freezer set at minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit so that may be too cold for the defrost presets. Overall the microwave is great except for the preset times that Ive mentioned. We use it daily and have done so for five years. It still looks excellent inside and out.

I purchased this dishwasher on April 2018 and from the beginning was not working well. I called a technician about 2 months ago, came with the computer and told me it is working fine, but my dishes are never well cleaned. Anyway on Nov 27, 2018 the water started coming out from my tiles and I didnt understand why? I kept drying and it kept dripping. I was so worried and called a handyman. He told me it is the dishwasher dripping water. All my cabinets, my tiles are wet inside. I have called and report it and today a technician was coming to repair it (which I will not accept.) I want a peace of mind. I need a new working dishwasher. Today, the technician was supposed to call me before arriving and I was 5 minutes away and left. Now, your customer service reps are telling me to wait till Tuesday. I am having guests and my house is a mess, I have the dishwasher in the middle of my kitchen, everything is stinking to humidity and all happens because of this BAD PRODUCT. I want this trash to be exchange as soon as possible.

Purchased a GE Profile (oven and microwave unit) for over $3000.00 seven years ago. The protective coating on the interior of the microwave completely wore off down to the metal under the wheels of the turntable. GE calls this minor chipping (which it is not), advises to stop using the product, and offers a $100.00 off a new GE unit because they cannot fix it. The product should be recalled, just like Honda did when their Pilots were peeling.

I am glad I was home when it happened. I am now wondering if I should repair it or replace it.

Less than three years ago, I purchased a microwave oven wall unit to replace an existing unit. Due to the size of the built-in cabinet, I was limited in choices. The cost of the unit was $2400. A few months ago, the interior wall of the unit began rusting and the enamel is peeling. I contacted the customer service dept via e-mail on their site. I was asked to send pictures and then informed that I should stop using the unit immediately due to the danger of arcing. I was also told that because I did not purchase the extended warranty, the best that GE could offer me was a new unit for $800. I asked for names of warranty companies and was given one name and number but told there were others that also offered the same service. I called this company and they clearly told me that the peeling and chipping was a manufacturer’s defect and would not have been covered by an extended warranty had I purchased one from any company. Then I contacted the GE repair service center and spoke with them. The man who answered explained that this is a cosmetic problem and that there was no danger of the microwave arcing unless there was less food in the microwave than the size of the area that was chipping. I am very disappointed in the response of GE, the pressure placed on me to make a decision in 7 days or the offer would be withdrawn, and the fact that the service department and the consumer service (complaint) department gave me entirely different responses to the same information and problem. I will probably have my cabinet rebuilt to avoid having to replace this unit with another GE appliance. Who would pay $$1600 for the use of a microwave/oven unit for less than three years? Unfortunately, GE seems to be the only company that makes a unit that fits the existing cabinet in my kitchen. Disappointing to say the least.

My Profile dishwasher is not on the recall list, yet the heater element malfunctioned and did damage the entire inside racks and spin bar along with contents. GE told us to have their recommended repairman provide estimate. Repair guy estimated over $600 to fix. The unit was smoking hot which caused bubbling on the exterior and the dishes to show signs of burning. Well with estimate, GE is offering a discounted top of the line dishwasher for over $600. Pretty sure, I do not want another GE. Also, when I told the agent that I was afraid that if I had not been home, it may have initiated a fire, she said it would not have happened. Really?

Our Profile over-the-range microwave failed after 2 years. (Warranty was for one year!) One day it suddenly died. The repairman ($100) said repeated twisting of the wire from the oven to the door (which contains all the electronics) is inevitable with opening and closing. The wire often breaks within its insulation: a bad design fault. No question of replacing the wire; we would have to order a new door, for nearly $400 plus $200 for installation, which requires 2 service technicians. This is more than the cost of a new OTR microwave. He advised us to get one with the controls beside, not in the door. Unfortunately GE is the only company that makes a microwave in the same colour as our range.

We purchased a GE Profile dishwasher, model PDW9880J00ss, in July 2005, along with GE range, refrigerator and microwave oven. We have had nothing but trouble with them. Most currently, the power board did not shut off at the end of the cycle, overheated and melted the harness also. We were alerted when the odor of burnt plastic filled our home. It was fortunate that we were home and in the next room, or our house could have burned down. The dishwasher cannot be repaired. I will contact GE to see what, if anything they will do to compensate me, but I am not optimistic. I will never buy GL products again. I thought by buying top of the line products from a well-known manufacturer, I would have a quality product. I was totally wrong. Sometimes, you dont get what you pay for.

Im just beginning the process of investigating this dishwasher I bought that doesnt work. I am a snowbird so this machine has only been used part time for a family of 2. We installed it March 2010 and it’s October 2013. But during that time frame weve only used it approx. 3 months in 2010, 7 months in 2011 and 7 in 2012 and 5 months in 2013. I noticed a smell of something burning before we left in May but thought it was something from the outdoors. So blew it off and left. When we returned last week, we discovered that the water wouldnt fill up but the heat would come on..... even if you turned off the heat feature!!!! And it gets hot. Weve unplugged it and was going to call GE repair tech until I read these reviews. Now I dont know what to do because its not under warranty.
