I am now facing my 5th repair appt about my 2 year old microwave. I have spent nearly $300 on repairs to be told I can purchase a new one for 50% off. Well, $426 plus my $275 I have paid IS A NEW One! 20 hours of me having to be available for service. I did not know the life of this appliance was 2 years. GE complaint number **. This is an unacceptable resolution offered by GE!

After many searches trying to do due diligence, we bought a GE dishwasher online Nov 2014. It was delivered and installed two weeks later. The day (Saturday) after delivery we loaded it and started the cycle; water went in, the circulation pump started and then the machine stalled. The machine was reset pumped out, restarted but no further improvement.Called the GE service number and after a 20 minute wait was informed that a request would be placed to a local service company. Monday the local service company (30 miles away) called to inform us they had to reject the service request and that GE would set up another. Three days later GE was called again. They were unaware that the service request was rejected so had not attempted to find someone else. They could not get another company to respond and told us to arrange the service call ourselves, pay the bill and submit it to them.My wife and I are now wanting to return the machine but were informed we would have to go through the local Home Depot. They informed us that we would need to have GE arrange it. GE was called back and informed us that the dishwasher could not be returned as long as it could be repaired which leaves it to their discretion. The process to arrange these things took a long time, many delays and many phone calls back and forth to Home Depot and GE. The calls to GE often took 15 minutes to get someone who would forward the call to the service rep which placed back in another 15 minute queue. Do not believe that Home Depot will take returns. The advertising makes you believe they will take but they do not without GEs RGA which GE is reluctant to provide. Avoid GE. I am not the first to find out that GE warranty (one year) and service is poor and that they are more than willing to wait out the warranty to leave their customers with a possible lemon. Other dishwashers are available with 5 year warranties.

I may be speaking too soon because I need to run my dishwasher again to make sure the minor leak truly has been fixed, but I am very impressed with the responsiveness of GE customer support. There was virtually no wait to talk to a rep about my 2-month-old dishwasher with a drip (plus water was collecting inside). Less than twenty four hours after my call, a friendly man was at my door to fully diagnose and then correct the issue. This was the cheapest, bottom-of-the line model that they so quickly came to service! Now in an ideal world, a new dishwasher wouldnt need any servicing at all, but I think all dishwashers are pretty finicky so at the moment, Im pleased.

This dishwasher was provided in our new manufactured home. It is the cheapest and loudest dishwasher I have ever had. But to be fair, I didnt pick it out. My friend just bought a new Bosch dishwasher and returned it because it didnt come with a heating element! Make sure (with the new energy saver models) that it comes with a heating element! I bought this over the range microwave in 2009 to go with my other Cafe appliances (dishwasher and range). After a few months, it stopped working and ge sent a repairman to fix it under warranty. He took it apart, replaced the touchpad panel, but told me that the old panel was still good and that I could keep it for the future in case I needed it. And I did. It stopped working a year ago. I took the whole machine apart, put in the original touchpad, and it worked. Until about a week ago. I went away on the Fourth, and when I returned 3 days later, I had the same problem for the third time. I just called ge service and was told that the replacement for the touchpad is $600. When I started to say that I could buy two Microwaves for that amount, the ge service person cut me off and asked if she could help me with anything else. Rude. In addition to this, the Cafe Range ($3000) has three unusable knobs because they were made of cheap PLASTIC and are cracked. They just spin and turn nothing on. When the third one broke, my wife had turned on the power boil and was unable to turn it off until I came home 2 hrs later. A huge FIRE HAZARD!! To replace the six knobs is, you guessed it, $300. I could buy an inexpensive stove for that. I have purposely used ge in lower letters because that is the way I feel about their appliances and their service.

I have owned this microwave for a little over a year and its pile of **. All they wanted to do is sell you their products and they dont stand behind what they make anymore. I have had this GE microwave for over a year now and have not had a problem with it. It has a variety of settings and it doesnt quit if something causes a spark/feedback, like a tiny piece of foil. It has a spacious interior and a large turntable. Also, the light stays on while cooking and comes on when the door is opened allowing one to watch and check on the cooking process even in a dim night light environment. Mid-morning munchies without having to turn a bright light on. I have tried other GE products and was disappointed with their performance. This GE microwave has worked well and I have not had any problems with it.

My GE Profile Dishwasher is a plain Jane without the bells and whistles, yet is a trusted, working appliance. Honestly, the only beef I have with this model is that plastic articles do not dry completely unless placing the controls on Heated Dry, and leaving the dishes in the dishwasher for the entire drying cycle. I have had my kids place some dishes in the dishwasher, caked in day old food. I left the plates in the dishwasher, hoping to teach my kids a lesson about rinsing off their dishes before placing them in. Imagine my surprise when after running the dishwasher through its normal cycle, the plates came out spotlessly clean! Impressive!

We bought our home 4 years ago. After 2 years and 8 months the bottom of the door cracked and a piece fell off, then the door wouldnt close. We were past the warranty so we bought a new one since it would be cheaper to replace it than repair it. We didnt complain because we thought it was put in incorrectly by the builder. The new one was installed correctly this time. After 1 year and 8 months the door is doing the same thing. I contacted GE and they said there is no manufacture defects. Because we didnt purchase the extra warranty it would cost us $90 to have someone come out and look at it. We only paid $179 for the microwave. It is a huge problem for us! We will not buy another GE product. Mostly because the customer service isnt willing to help at all. They just transfer you to different departments who all tell you the same thing. Very disappointed in GE.

I like microwaves to a point. If my wife puts my dinner the refrigerator and I take it out and put it into the microwave if the dinner has let’s say pork chops, mashed potatoes, peas everything gets cooked except the mashed potatoes. They’re always cold and sometimes the peas will pop. There’s never a good medium for all foods at once and if you have any bread or biscuits you have to take it out after 15 seconds. The same goes with turkey cranberry stuffing and other things that go on the plate at Thanksgiving. Some stuff gets very hot. Some stuff stays cold.

It constantly leaves water droplets inside on top, sides and door of dishwasher as well as all plastics are covered in water after even using heated drying selection. The GE dishwasher was in place in the home that we bought in 2017. I like the stainless steel outer color, the noise level is minimal, which I like. The options for different cleaning levels are great. It does a good job at cleaning our dishes. My only negative comment is that it was new when the house was built in 2017. For the past three months it has been stopping repeatedly, multiple times, mid-cycle so that you have to repulse the start button multiple times to finish the cycle. It is barely three years old and seems to already be giving out which means we will have to replace it, probably soon.

Bought a GE dishwasher that a service bulletin was generated by GE on a fault in their manufacturing. DD03-16 for reference. The door does not stay shut and continues to open. GE customer service suggested replacing hinges and brackets on the door. So I ordered the parts and changed them. It did not work. I called them back and they suggested purchasing and replacing additional parts. I called a local 3rd party and they provided the service bulletin and said that this is a problem in the design of these models. GE will not repair the problem. The cost has been shifted to me or they suggest buying a new dishwasher for only $150 over retail. They are hiding behind a warranty that expired, but the problem started at time zero when it was made. This is garbage and I have been without a working unit and continuing to argue with them over the repair or replacement cost. Call if you have this problem because they have identified it and have a solution that they will not tell you about.

I own a GE counter-top sensor microwave oven model #JES1451, which was only 2 years old. At 3:00AM, I woke to a room full of smoke and a burning plastic smell. I immediately rushed to the source which was my microwave oven. It was going by itself and the panel read sensor error with smoke billowing out of it and flames erupting. I purchased 5 new GE Appliances delivered June 1, 2014. Within the first 2 weeks, the dishwasher wouldnt drain and had the repairman out to fix it. Within the next 2 weeks, the door wouldnt stay closed and had the repairman come. He took the rubber off around the door so that the door would close and said he was not familiar with GE dishwashers and would go to showroom and look at it and come back. I said as long as I dont have a flood. He assured me that the water only fills up so far and would not leak. Within the next 2 weeks, I was downstairs and heard water running and it was pouring through the ceiling. I ran upstairs and very hot water was all over my kitchen and pouring through the floor into the basement. The unit malfunctioned and wouldnt shut off. I had to shut off the water to the DW and run to the electrical panel to shut off power. I then had to call insurance to get a restoration company to dry out and fix my house. I phoned Arkona Appliances to let them know and they gave me a toll free number to call for GE. The toll free number when you call you are on hold for at least an hour to talk to a receptionist which puts you on to someones voicemail. I was on hold for one hour the first time and one hour and eleven minutes the second time and begged to get a direct line for future calls. Reluctantly, the receptionist gave it to me. The technician had to come out and assess the dishwasher and said I needed a new dishwasher and sent the report in Friday, August 1. Because of the long weekend, I waited to call until Wednesday and they said they didnt receive the report. She asked me whether it was emailed or faxed - how would I know. Then she found the report and said I would get a new dishwasher Wednesday, Aug 13 or the 20th. Still havent heard anything. If received next week, it will have been 5 weeks from the time of the flood I have been washing dishes by hand. Awful customer service from retailer as well as GE. Problems dont go away they just get worse. Initially upset - NOW I AM FURIOUS!!!

We bought 6 new GE appliances when we purchased a new home. The reason: my husband worked for GE for 35 years and we wanted tell our friends how happy we are with them! Now, we are sorry we have to complain about the dishwasher (Model #GDWF160R1OSS). The only good thing about it is how quiet it is. We have tried many different soap products, a little soap, more soap, Rinse Aid, half clean or nearly clean dishes placed inside, only to have the glassware looking horrid, not clean and cloudy. Service man offered suggestions but none have worked. The stainless steel interior also looks horrid because of streaks. So much for energy efficiency when we have to wash all our glassware by hand to get the residue of soap off them. Another dishwasher we have had for 25 yrs. does an excellent job - so dont blame it on the phosphate removal from soap.

We purchased a manufactured home that had brand new, GE appliances in it. We have been in the home for almost two years, but the dishwasher has never worked well, at ALL, even when it was brand new. We called GE and they sent a local appliance repairman to our house. He said that there was nothing wrong with the dishwasher. They are just junk. Amen! I have tried running the water in the sink until it is hot before the dishwasher fills up, we have tried using a citrus additive that is supposed to help it clean better, we have tried several different kinds of soap, NOTHING works. It never gets the dishes clean, there is always residue and food left at the bottom of the dishwasher, and it runs for hours on end. We had a GE microwave that my parents got when I was in elementary school that lasted us through graduation (when I got it), and it then lasted me another 6 or 7 years after that. It was a great microwave, so we went with GE for our next one. What a mistake that was. The new one died completely less than a year after we got it (less than a year after its manufacture date at that!). The one after, one of the same make and model, lasted 3 years to the month after its manufacture date. Sorry GE, but I just do not have any interest in spending so much for so short a lifespan on your products, and its a damn shame that your quality has suffered so badly that you have lost a once-loyal customer of your brand.

I purchased a GE monogram microwave along with all the other brand new appliances when I remodeled my kitchen. Let me be clear when I say I will never buy another GE product again in my life. Not only is the product inferior but the customer service department is run by a group of very inept people that lack basic communication skills. The microwave I purchased needed two repairs within the first five years of purchase. I have a microwave in my office at work that I purchased over 10 years ago and Ive never had an issue with it. Needless to say, it isnt a GE product. Last April the microwave started acting up again and kept turning itself off. We didnt even bother calling GE because like everything else their repairmen are also incompetent. 1-800-Appliance came out and found that the magnetron needed to be replaced and we should just purchase a new appliance. Because our microwave had been installed in a custom made cabinet and the trim kit was still good, we made the mistake of purchasing the same exact microwave from GE for convenience. This was in April of 2014. Right now I am waiting for a GE repairman to come and take a look at it because it is already not working. This is after I spent an hour on the phone with consumer relations. I will never purchase a GE product again.

I am a licensed master plumber. I do a fair share of high end kitchen installs, I noticed that in the last 5 years that all GE dishwashers I installed had a whole lot of extra parts to be installed by the installer. For example. Today I uncrated and tried to roll a GE dishwasher I got 6 and a drip tray fell out. Then when I went to install the dishwasher in the cabinet I had to install 4 different rubber flanges. When I went to push the dishwasher in the flanges came loose and hindered the install. The the insulation jacket kept binding up. The last 10 of these GE dishwashers I have installed the dishwasher appears to be racked or not square. I had to tell the General Contractor that I dont want to install the GE dishwashers any more. Way too much trouble. I have much better luck and ease of installation with Miele and Bosch. The GE dishwasher are very frustrated to install. Bob Licensed Master Plumber since 1982Richmond VA

We purchased our GE dishwasher in September 2014. In December 2014 the dishwasher started to make a loud grinding noise. I contacted GE and a repair man was sent promptly to do the repair. Upon arrival and looking at the dishwasher he advised me that it was the motor. He then stated that he would order the parts and also stated that he did not have the correct tool to remove the motor and has not had one since they have changed the manufacturing process. At this time I am still waiting for the parts and I have contacted GE numerous times to find that the parts were either on back order or had been shipped out. I am still waiting for the parts and the repairs to be done. The estimated date of the parts to arrive is January 29th. At that time I will have been without a dishwasher for a month that I have just purchased.

I have a GE Profile model JT965SK4SS micro/oven combo. It came new with my new home. A couple years into it, the paint (lining) interior of the microwave start to bubble and peel and eventually started rusting. Had SEARS come out (warranty had expired) who contacted GE and they concluded it was only cosmetic that it doesnt affect the functioning of the microwave. Well, its gotten a LOT WORSE now, bubbled peeling paint all over inside, rust, exposed metal, and the paint is falling onto food. I can NOT even wipe out the interior to clean it, it makes more stuff come off/fall down. I called GE last week, was told by 2 employees that it is NOT safe to use anymore, discontinue use. I had SEARS come again (per GE). The tech said he had NEVER seen anything like it before. He called GE to tell them its not safe, exposed metal, and its dangerous. They again said, well maam, youve gotten 8 years use of it. We wont replace it, but will offer you a discount for a new one ($2,500 out of pocket for me). The person who had offered me the discount (yes, I sent pictures, showed how bad it is) also gave me a tip regarding the unit I have now with the exposed metal and the chance of arcing (spelled? like Ark) if the unit catches on fire, make sure not to open the doors, the fire should contain itself. 2 employees told me its not safe, a 3rd gave me helpful info for if/when it catches on fire... and yet, they still wont replace the unit... and do not stand behind their own products. I plan to go to our local news station, see if they can get anywhere with this, since they wont do anything. Patiently waiting and unable to afford a new unit.

I bought GE Profile dishwasher (PDT750SSFSS) from Home Depot on Sept 2014. First week it had some drying issue and GE service technician told no issue with dishwasher. After 4 months, electronic control board stopped working and GE service technician replaced the board. It worked for about a month and again same control electronic board failed and need to be replaced by GE technician. Again within a week again board failed for 3rd time. This time I asked for a replacement from GE since same board failed 3 times but GE refused to replace and told they can only repair and cannot give a replacement of dishwasher. Again for 4th time same control board failed now and I have contacted Home Depot for help. I dont know what to do this time and I dont want to repair this dishwasher anymore. It is only June 2015 and it had been repaired for more than 4 times. Ill try through Home Depot to get a replacement, if not Im planning to go through consumer court and file case against GE Profile. I would appreciate if somebody can help in resolving this issue and you can contact me through my email.

GE contacted, company not too responsive, miscue with technician, failure to reschedule, unknown when it will get fixed. Purchased as a complete set (dishwasher, range/oven, refrigerator, microwave). My GE counter top microwave (JES1456), purchased from Home Depot less than a year ago, just stopped working today. No lights, or anything. The electrical outlet is fine. The GE warranty appears to be effectively meaningless. It is cheaper to replace the oven, than have it repaired. I will avoid GE products in the future.

I have to agree with other post about the customer service. Our dishwasher is only 15 months old. First call went fine after that everything is with email. Tried calling several times to get correct parts shipped after only getting one of three needed, I called and finally after 45 minutes an agent answered. After several attempts to get recommended parts and repairs we are now having additional issues. The quality of the GE brand has really gone down compared to our older products that lasted 15+ years. Now waiting for a new assessment of what the issue might be and hopefully will be able to get the parts without issue.

My GE Profile Dishwasher was serviced 2 years ago for a faulty electronic control pad. It made starting the dishwasher a complete gamble, you never knew when it would actually turn on. I paid a couple hundred dollars to fix this problem 2 years ago and of course it has stopped working once again. So frustrating! GE decides to replace one bad part for another bad part. I then asked for the service call to be covered since it was obviously the same problem but they refused. So, GE am I to keep paying $89 for service fees so that you can keep replacing one faulty part for another? STAND BY YOUR PRODUCT!

When I entered my home I notice the microwave door was open and light was on. I closed it and took packages to my room. When I entered the kitchen I seen flames coming from inside unit. I put out flames with a fire. The panel was off and microwave was empty. My son said he left the door open because when he closed it hummed. I am very blessed that my home or loss of life did not happen. I contacted GE to see if there was a recall and was offered a 20.00 discount. I really feel that this is a hazard waiting to happen.

I moved into our house about 27 years ago, and have had to replace every single appliance except the microwave. The oven, fridge, washer, dryer, dishwasher—all replaced at least one time over. But this 90s GE microwave keeps humming along. I really should replace it just because it is this awful off-white color and everything else in our kitchen is part of a beautiful stainless steel/black/white scheme, but it is actually built right into a cabinet and I fear I will not be able to get another microwave in there. The only gripe I have about its performance is the fan comes on and roars full-blast anytime the stove or oven is on. It is so loud its difficult to talk over.

However, the GE Monogram Microwave ($499 at Best Buy) broke down 17 months later, a few days before Thanksgiving 2015. GE claimed it was out-of-warranty, and I would have to pay $99 to have a technician look at it, and would charge for repairs. We are stuck with the GE Monogram Microwave as it is a built-in unit and our cabinet is built around it. So we went and got a new one from Best Buy. When the new one came and when we removed it from the box, it had a large dent in it - a very large one. It clearly indicates a shoddy QC job, as the unit should not have left the factory with such an obvious dent. We asked BEST BUY to replace it, but a new one is not going to come till after Christmas. So it was 2 strikes against GE Microwave ovens for me.We spoke to GE and they were not very sympathetic, and amazingly did not even apologize for the inconvenience caused!! They just stuck to their out-of-warranty mantra, which I understand. But then the occurrence of a second event with another GE Microwave, and the inconvenience of sending back a big dented one was also not acknowledged or perhaps even understood by their CS representative. So it is strike 3 against GE Appliances for me.I would never recommend GE microwaves and was totally disappointed with the Customer service of the GE Appliance division. I also have GE Cooktop and two GE wall ovens and shudder to think what will happen if they should break down. Just sharing a sad experience that holds some lessons for me and my family and friends. (Rethink buying GE Appliances.)

Our GE Microwave Oven/Convection Oven Combo (Model: PT970SRSS) is a little over 2 years old. The interior paint on the ceiling of the microwave oven is chipping and bare metal is exposed. In addition, the microwaves glass turntable frequently slips off its plastic tripod base. Circular scratch marks, which also expose the underlying metal are evident in the area which is located directly below the glass turntable. The circular scratches are a direct result of the glass turntable scraping against the paint. The GE repairman said chipped paint is not repairable and that paint should not ever chip in a microwave, let alone a relatively new microwave. After many calls back and forth to the GE Consumer Relations person, we were offered a new combo at a discounted rate of approximately $1,000. (We paid around $2,000 originally.) Im not satisfied with this offer. I strongly feel that consumers should NOT have to pay to replace a defective item. GE needs to pull these defective and dangerous products off the market! Take a lesson from GM!!!

Does not clean well nor dry well even on the more powerful cycles. I rinse off all the food and if anything is accidentally missed, it just gets baked on. Very disappointing. Also much of the upper rack item remain very wet at the end of the cycle. Drying issues: I use the most powerful drying cycle option but contents remain wet at the end of the cycle, especially plastics and top rack utensils. Not just damp, but large drops of water remain. Cleaning issues: Even when I use the heavy cycle, unless I remove all traces of food from the contents, the food remains and worse, now baked on. This model has a sanitized cycle so basically I use this dishwasher to sanitize only rather than clean, dry and sanitize. Completely unacceptable.

I purchased a GE Profile stocks in 2007 and a GE microwave model JVM7195SK1SS purchased 12/30/16. We have replaced the knobs on the stove 2 times because of peeling in the past. Now we need to replace the microwave handle. The handles and knobs look like metal but they are cheaply made white plastic covered with a sharp silver coating that peels. It appears the knobs get overheated when the oven opens and the microwave handle from the steam when cooking on the stove. Last night I cut my hand on the handle! We reordered the faulty handle and now getting charge $100 from GE. The company should take responsibility for their poor design and replace it for free with a nonpeeling part. I know that we will get the same handle and won’t be able to use the burner below or hope that using the fan will keep it from cracking again. I would never recommend a GE product again.

We recently purchased our second dishwasher in 16+ years (the other one (a Kenmore) is still running fabulously but staying with the sale of our former home - however I am tempted to swap it out with this new one from GE). This beautiful inside and out dishwasher has a couple main flaws that has me wanting my old dishwasher back. The buttons on the front are super sensitive, causing it to come on countless times a day as we get items out of cabinet above. This is not something we thought about. Our old one had the controls on the front but they were under plastic that you pushed... not actual buttons like this one.The second issue is minor. The rack on the bottom is set up very wide on one side and our dinner plates are smaller than some and they do not sit firmly in between the tines. The spacing is great for larger plates or serving items but not for medium size plates. We use a lot of bowls so the other side with closer together tines is always full. Like I said just a minor flaw. Lastly, the unit puts off a high-pitched sound during certain parts of the cycle. It is not really loud but it is bothersome if we are still in the kitchen when it is running.

We are on our second GE Profile Series 60ssf dishwasher. The first one began to leak all over the floor. The store replaced it with a new one. We have had our present one about ten months. The first several months it did great and we loved it. The last two months we have noticed the dishwasher not drying our dishes. We have talked with the store several times to make sure we are doing all the right things. We are using sanitary level, power dry, Rinse Aid. We have had two technicians out and according to their computer it does not detect anything wrong. Interesting. The temperatures of the water quoted by the two were 60 degrees different. So what else is different? We received a call from supposed management of customer services saying, since the technicians could not find anything wrong, that we will have to live with whatever is going on. They will do nothing more.BUYER BEWARE! The GE brand used to be good, but not anymore. At least not in dishwashers. I definitely would not recommend this dishwasher to anyone even though it is top of the line, supposedly the best in proficiency. We moved into our new manufactured home in May of 2013. That is the month our above range built-in GE microwave was installed. In October of 2013, one of my sons heated a frozen chicken cordon bleu serving for 3 minutes, 45 seconds, according to packaging directions. He said that some of the inside of his food was cool, so my other son put in his serving for four minutes, zero seconds. All of the packaging was removed and each serving was placed on a separate Corelle plate and covered with Glad microwave-safe plastic wrap. While heating the second serving, the microwave started on fire. Fortunately, my son extinguished the fire before it spread. The food did not combust. The fire seems to have started from the ceiling behind the fan. The entire inside of our microwave is clean except for the soot that billowed out from the center of the ceiling. When the service tech came, he scrubbed the soot off of the ceiling with some paper napkins (which he left inside of the unit) and said that the microwave was a total loss. He also said the fire was caused by misuse, because plastic wrap is not meant to be used in the microwave, therefore even though the fire happened within a year of purchase and installation, our warranty was void. I asked GE to get a second opinion and they agreed to send a third party servicer (A&E) who stood me up three times! I finally got to schedule a GE tech to come at the end of December and they sent the same guy who said the fire was our fault! He told me that he never said plastic wrap is not meant for the microwave, but that we are being dishonest because fires only start when the food is left in the microwave for too long. He accidentally let it slip that he is seeing the same problem with GE microwaves in a lot of new construction for student housing in Tallahassee. (We live 20 minutes south of there.) He attempted to recover GEs reputation afterward by saying that of course it was the students faults, too, for misusing the microwave units. Anyway, GE has graciously offered to sell us a new microwave at slight discount. Haha, no thank you!

We bought a model PVM9215SK3SS microwave as part of an over-the-range microwave oven/extractor fan combo. Unlike every other microwave combo weve ever had in our frequent moves, this microwave cannot run the kitchen timer independently of the microwave. If you try to set the kitchen timer when the microwave is running, the cook-time changes and overcooks whats in the microwave. If you try to set the microwave to cook while the timer is timing a food cooking on the range, it simply refuses to work. The instructions are very hard to both find and then understand, having been written in China to cover many different models. Apparently I can ask my phone to turn it on. I sure cant manage that very often in person! The fan is too loud for comfortable use even at the lowest speed, which is a great disappointment. A former Profile model was very quiet at every speed, and much more efficient. Were saving up for something that works.

Purchased an entire line of GE appliances for kitchen after having prior (still working) appliances for 13 years. Have had at least 5 services calls and countless emails and phone calls for non functioning Dishwasher. Here is response from GE Manager: I have reviewed the pictures and no I would re-wash those 4 dishes if they came out of my dishwasher prior to using them with my family. Dried on fruit, starches and dairy are tough for any dishwasher to take off as the sugars in them act like glue. Again for these types of foods we would highly recommend more pre-washing to make sure that they are not left on the dishes after the dishwashing cycle. CAUTION: DO NOT BUY.

About two years ago I moved into my condo and as a housewarming gift my sister gave me money to buy a microwave oven. I bought a GE over the range microwave. Well it quit over two months ago - really disappointed. I bought the next one but now after reading all these similar experiences I am sorry I bought the same problem.

I purchased a GE Microwave Oven model # JES1139WL03 in late May of 2010. In early July, the paint started coming off the inside of the door when I wiped it with a damp dishcloth. I called Lowes, where I had purchased it, but was told that their warranty was only 30 days. I called GEs Consumer Support line and was told that for $65, I could ship the microwave to a repair center who would determine whether the machine could be repainted or would need to be replaced. I was told that either would require me to pay for it, since the machine still worked and peeling paint was not considered to be a warranty item. I guess if it catches fire, then they might warranty it.

My GE Profile Spacesaver XL 1800 microwaves megatron went out. It is still under warranty, but GE refuses to send me the new megatron because they demand that their service company needs to install it. Estimate is $300 for installation. I had a local appliance repair shop look at it and they will install for $80. GE refuses to ship to them or me and state that their legal department has restricted sending to the customer or unauthorized repair shops. So I am being blackmailed for $300 in order to get the megatron replaced under warranty.

We bought a brand new GE dishwasher from our local hardware store on Black Friday. It was $600 dishwasher on sale. It was installed on December 5th, it broke on December 6th, and we had a repair man come out to take a look at it. To be fair, the local hardware store did ask if we wanted to replace (2 week wait time) or repair (2 day wait time) it. Since it was a bolt that was severed (by opening the door to the machine, mind you), we figured it would be an easy fix. The first technician who visited said, Yeah, its broken. I have to order a new bolt and then come back out in a week to fix it. And oh, by the way, Ill have to drill a new hole for it too. Thats when I called GE customer service to request a new product. But since my 48 hour window had passed, and we opted to have it fixed, it was keep it or ask our local hardware store to replace it at their expense. I bit the bullet and just had it repaired. Now, less than 2 months later, the technician has been at our house three times. He’s soon to have a fourth visit because we need a new dispense modulator. After speaking with customer service several more times, and with a not very nice lady in the Chairmans office, I still have a defective product. Oh, did I mention that Im paid hourly and have now taken off 13 hours? So what’s the use of that $600 dishwasher that we bought? Its been out of commission for more than 2 weeks, in less than 2 months, and has now cost us $900. Thanks, GE! We’re so glad to see you stand behind your product.

Microwave Model JVM1750DP2bb defective construction- Plastic is protruding
Microwave Model JVM1750DP2bb defective construction- Plastic is protruding inside the Oven. Took possession of a new home in January 2014, but only occupied part time. I estimate we had the equivalent of 6 months being occupied. In January 2017 the magnetron broke down, at which time I noticed a piece of plastics protruding inside the microwave through a vent hole on the Magnetron side. I did not take the extended warranty and GE only offered to send a repair man. Since this is an over the stove model venting outside, it had to be repaired or replaced. Checked with the supplier and they estimated a minimum of $ 300 repair cost. Home Depot had model JVM6175DKBB on sale for 249.00, and with delivery, and installation, were talking $ 350.00 to $400.00 to replace. I got in touch with GE Consumer Affairs, and they did eventually agree to provide the JVM6175DKBB for $ 270.00 including installation. They will take possession of the old model, so there wont be any way for me to confirm or deny a manufacturing defect.

Our GE microwave just stopped working after 3 or 4 years. It was manufactured 4 years ago, but I am not exactly sure when we purchased and installed it... It may have sat on the shelf for a year. It is not the touch panel, the lights, timer, clock... They all work. In fact, I can put in a time to cook and push START and the timer will start counting down as if the microwave is cooking, but it is totally silent, no turntable, no noise, no nothing. The new replacement model number is the JVM6175 but I am scared to buy it, as I am so disappointed in GE. All the washers, dryers, microwaves, and refrigerators we have bought over the last 30 years have only lasted 3 to 7 years. The only appliance by GE we have purchased that seems to be still working is the dishwasher. We only used this microwave to heat up coffee or some leftovers. It is not being used to cook big meals or anything like that. GE has just gone downhill, it appears. I think I will just give up on them totally.

I like the look of the oven but it took 3 shots to get it right. I had some bad luck with 2 out of 3. It seems the first 2 were damaged. I know many people would have given up but I owned one before this one and the only reason I gave it up was remodeling. The oven worked fine after 5 years. I guess I gambled on past performance and it still paid off. But I am really not sure about the door sometimes because it is a big door and it can seem tinnee and cheap at times. The overall performance is good and the looks are what I was looking for.

We upgraded our appliance package when we bought our village builder home 8 years ago. All GE Monogram appliances have rusted and now need replaced. New liners needed in oven which was so rusted we couldnt get the screws out to replace the originals. Was told by GE customer service rust to be expected when cooking. It creates steam and food particles can cause scratching!!! Maybe it should be steam proof especially a microwave. Even the door on this is rusted! Why the shelf ends in a freezer are rusted not sure on that one! Will NEVER buy this brand again and shame on them my upgraded appliances dont even make it to 10 yrs. A disgrace. My mother just replaced her 20 yr old oven. What is wrong that nowadays things dont last 5 minutes? Shame on you GE not recognizing a definite flaw in your products.

We purchased a GE Profile Microwave with our GE Profile range in 2010. In 2016 we noticed an area on the bottom of the back wall that was peeling. It is in an area where nothing is rubbing or touching it. After taking photos and contacting GE customer service I was offered a discount on a replacement microwave. I expressed my concern that a new microwave might do the same thing--peel. I was told that the newer microwaves have a moisture resistant paint. The area that has peeled is much larger now than is shown in the attached photo taken in 2016. I expected my oven to last longer than 6 years; its a GE Profile and we take excellent care of our appliances.

We purchased a GE over-the-range microwave oven last November 2010 and it was installed in February 2011 when our addition was finished. Last week, it decided to stop responding to instructions. When the door is closed, it just continues to run--the turntable turns, the light stays on and the fan keeps running. It will respond to instructions, but when we want to shut it off if the door is shut, we have to unplug it--which is a real pain because it is over the range. We have an old microwave that was my wifes parents and it still works fine even though it is about 20 years old. The new one stops working in a little more than a year which is not acceptable. We contacted GE and were told that we would have to pay over $100.00 to get the thing fixed. I dont think so. We will not purchase anything GE again.

I have a new GE profile model PDWT380VSS - Two in fact. The first one kept breaking glasses in the top rack. GE technicians could not find an answer so they replaced the Dishwasher. Now six months later its doing it again. This replaced a perfectly good, older model as part of a remodel. Theyll be sending another tech who I suspect will not have an answer. Any thoughts on what could be causing this or a way around it or is it to be expected? The first GE profile I had for several years with no such issues.

Its been a decent dishwasher. Usually residue left on something. Even with rinsing. And weve tried all brands of detergent. Rinse, China, speed cycle, normal, pots/pans and anti-bacteria cycles. 9 hour delay and extra hot wash and heat dry settings. It works for our family. A load every 2 days or so. Its almond/bone colour. The hoses are flimsy. They seem like they could leak at any moment. Not sure Id buy another GE.

We moved in a newly built home and resided in this home for three years. The house came equipped with a GE Microwave: Model: JNM1541DM5BB, Serial: ZZ 201867 L. While in the house the microwave came on by itself with flames coming from the center of the unit. The plastic in the center of the unit was on fire. Had I not been home at the time this took place, I would not have a home to live in today. A review of the construction of this product is needed. An investigation to the cause of this mishap is needed.

Had model JES1460DS3BB less than 2 years. I started to smell burning plastic when using it. Research tells me the wiring is burning up. Im sick and tired of GE appliances. Ever since my GE toaster caught on fire in 1969 Ive had bad luck with GE. I gave the company another chance when I bought this microwave. I will never buy another GE appliance - large or small.

Very convenient. Easy to use. Take some time to clean though, have to cover all food for splatter of food on the topside inside of microwave, have scour off with strong pad. Also it is not radiation free for health. But the microwave is easy to lift. The best thing about it you can cook frozen foods. Like meatloaf, beef stew my favorite, pizza, chicken.

Of course, I rinse my dishes, but Ive had few incidences of dishes coming out dirty. Hot start, start (long wash), short wash, rinse only and plate warmer. The interior is set up well with a good variety of spaces. I would say its a normal-sized household dishwasher, not compact, with approximately a 24 width, 24 depth and height. White with gray lettering; four buttons and one dial. Simple design that is easy to understand and operate. The run-time of this dishwasher is quite long, and it is very loud.

GE had recalls on models 8500 and 8700 due to the motor catching fire but not my 8600 which is right in between. So besides it being the worst working dishwasher weve owned by not even cleaning well, the unit catches fire and almost burns my house down and GE wants to give me a credit toward buying another fire trap as opposed to replacing it because its 5 years old. I expect appliances to last more than 5 years and not catch on fire. No more GEs for me!

I own a GE over the stove Microwave that spontaneously turned on while I was sleeping. Once the unit was running for a bit, it caught on fire. It melted thru the glass plate before I woke up and was able to remove power from the unit and stop the fire. To GEs credit, they did send a tech out to our place. The tech never did anything to find out what caused the problem. Instead he was just looking to see if the unit was salvageable. He condemned the unit, and GEs solution was a $25 rebate on the next one of their products I would purchase. The liability GE would have been up for if I were not home would have been astronomical. This appliance put my property and the life of my family and neighbors in danger. GEs inaction on this problem shows that they have no concern for the safety of the consumers that use their products. The HR response has been appalling.
