Is my microwave slanted up Normal?
Posted On: May 26, 2023

Question from user xjonahanx at Appliances at reddit.

The Microwave is noticeable pointing upwards.

The contractor that installed it said thats more than likely how it is.

Is this actually normal? Any ideas on how to fix it?

A microwave oven is typically designed to be placed on a countertop or mounted in a specific position, such as above a stove or within a cabinet. It is not considered normal for a microwave to be noticeably pointing upwards, as it could indicate an installation issue or a problem with the mounting bracket.

To address this problem, here are a few steps you can take:

  1. Check the installation instructions: Review the user manual or installation instructions provided by the manufacturer. These documents usually contain specific guidelines on how to correctly install and position the microwave.

  2. Verify the mounting bracket: If your microwave is mounted, check the mounting bracket to ensure it is properly aligned and securely attached to the wall or cabinet. If it seems loose or misaligned, you may need to adjust or reinstall it.

  3. Seek professional help: If you're unsure about the installation or if the microwave's position doesn't seem right even after checking the bracket, it is recommended to consult a professional technician or the manufacturer's customer support for assistance. They can provide guidance or send a technician to inspect and fix any installation issues.

  4. Safety considerations: It's essential to address this issue promptly, as an improperly installed microwave may pose safety risks. Microwaves generate heat, and if the appliance is not positioned correctly, it may lead to uneven heating, potential damage to the unit, or even accidents.

Remember, it's always best to consult the manufacturer's guidelines or seek professional help to ensure the microwave is correctly installed and safe to use.
