Rheem Heat Pump Model WP14AZ

WP14AZ Endeavor Line Select Series

The Rheem WP14AZ Endeavor Line Select Series Heat Pump is a residential HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) system designed to provide both heating and cooling for your home. The "Select Series" indicates that it is a mid-tier model in Rheem's product lineup, offering a balance of performance and efficiency. Here are some key features and information about the Rheem WP14AZ Endeavor Line Select Series Heat Pump:

1. Heat Pump Functionality:

The heat pump is capable of providing both heating and cooling by transferring heat between the indoors and outdoors.

In the heating mode, it extracts heat from the outside air and transfers it inside to warm your home.

In the cooling mode, it removes heat from indoor air and releases it outside to cool your home.

2. Efficiency and Performance:

The Rheem WP14AZ Select Series Heat Pump is designed to provide efficient performance and energy savings.

It likely comes with a SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) rating, which indicates its cooling efficiency, and an HSPF (Heating Seasonal Performance Factor) rating, which indicates its heating efficiency.

Higher SEER and HSPF ratings generally indicate higher efficiency and potential energy savings.

3. Quiet Operation:

Rheem emphasizes quiet operation in their products, so the WP14AZ may come equipped with features to minimize noise during operation.

4. Durability and Construction:

The Endeavor Line Select Series is likely built with durability in mind, using quality components and materials.

5. Refrigerant Type:

The heat pump may use R-410A refrigerant, which is more environmentally friendly than older refrigerants.

6. Warranty:

Rheem typically offers warranties for their products. The warranty coverage can vary, so it's important to check the specific warranty terms for the WP14AZ model you're considering.

7. Professional Installation:

Proper installation is crucial for the efficient and effective operation of the heat pump. It's recommended to have the heat pump installed by a licensed HVAC professional.

Before purchasing the Rheem WP14AZ Endeavor Line Select Series Heat Pump, it's a good idea to consult with an HVAC professional to ensure that it's the right choice for your home's heating and cooling needs. They can assess your home's size, layout, insulation, and other factors to recommend the appropriate size and model for optimal performance and energy efficiency.

Here are some general Rheem heat pump error codes and their potential meanings. Keep in mind that these are generic examples, and your specific model may have different codes:

LP: Low-Pressure Switch Open (LP) - Indicates a low-pressure condition that may be caused by issues such as low refrigerant levels, a refrigerant leak, or a faulty low-pressure switch.

F: Defrost Control (DFC) - Indicates a problem with the defrost control. This could be related to issues with the defrost thermostat, defrost control board, or sensors.

H: High-Pressure Sensor Fault (HPF) - Indicates a fault with the high-pressure sensor. This could be caused by issues such as a malfunctioning sensor or a high-pressure condition.

L: Low-Pressure Sensor Fault (LPF) - Indicates a fault with the low-pressure sensor. This could be caused by issues such as a malfunctioning sensor or a low-pressure condition.

C: Open Circuit or Sensor Fault (OSF) - Indicates an open circuit or sensor fault. This could be related to various sensors within the heat pump.

Other Codes: There may be other codes specific to your model, and their meanings will be outlined in the user manual.

Always refer to your specific model's documentation for accurate information about error codes and their meanings. If you encounter an error code on your Rheem heat pump, it's advisable to consult the user manual first. The manual typically includes a troubleshooting guide that may provide steps to address common issues associated with specific error codes. If you're unable to resolve the problem or if the issue persists, it's recommended to contact Rheem customer support or a qualified HVAC technician for assistance. I have a Rheem Water Heater and a valve went out. The service tech had to order a replacement part. After talking to the people from Rheem about my shipping information, I was told it would take 2-3 days to get the part. Okay fine. Then I get the FedEx notification and it is a week till the estimated delivery date. What happen to 2-3 days? I called the help number and come to find out that I could have overnight the stupid part for a small fee and had hot water in a couple of days instead of over a week, but the guy processing the order the first time failed to mention that option to me. Needless to say the part is now overnight but since it was a Friday afternoon it wont go out till Monday so when the thing finally comes in and can be installed it will be 5 days since the service tech got out there to begin with to get the hot water heater running. Seriously what are these people thinking, you as a homeowner dont want hot water in winter for more than a week.

Our water heater was professionally installed in May 2011. Last month the unit started leaking. I pulled out the paperwork and went online to verify the warranty. According to their warranty verification site, the warranty was valid through 6/11/2024. I called the Rheem customer service line (800-432-8373) and spoke to someone that confirmed that the warranty was valid. He said I needed to have a plumber look at the unit first and he gave me the name of a plumber that I could use. I paid $140 for him to come out and he confirmed that the unit was properly installed and the heat exchanger was leaking. I called Rheem back on 6/26/15 and the customer service agent (Scott, who was very nice) asked some basic questions including Were you the homeowner at the time the unit was installed? I bought the house one year ago. He then told me that because I was not the owner of the home when it was installed, the warranty was not valid.I asked to speak to a supervisor and he told me was the one in charge. I asked to speak to his manager and he took my information and told me he would have him call me but no one ever did. I sent an email to Rheems customer service center and again got no response. As a result, I have had to pay $1,975 to buy a new tankless water heater and have it installed. To make matters worse, I was forced to buy another Rheem as any other brand would have required additional costs to retrofit the piping to fit that product (according to the plumber that Rheem referred). I feel that the product failed after 4 years and this should have nothing to do with the fact that I bought the house 3 years after it was installed. I would like to be reimbursed for the cost of the new unit under the original warranty. I am also disappointed that Rheem did not respond to my request to speak to a manager or my email to their customer service center.

This company doesnt stand behind their product. They installed the water heater at at 4 star hotel and it leaked within two months of installation. It wasnt a small leak. It was a steady stream from the internal tank on the bottom. I called the company and spoke with Daniel ** and he said they could replace it but basically I was on my own. It didnt matter that it had caused some structural damage to the walls or molding. They wouldnt send a representative to inspect the unit. The unit was faulty and the company did not stand behind their product or the contractor that installed a product we believed to be good or offer good customer service for products. Things like this causes contractors like us a huge liability and possibly lost us a big client.

We installed a Rheem tankless water heater system in February 2017 and starting about a year ago, it has consistently failed to produce hot water. It appears to be a computer/software problem, as our plumber is able to reboot it, but we have not been able to do so following the manual. The reboot may last a few weeks, or 24 hours, and there seems to be no discernible trigger. Our next step will be to remove the system and replace it with traditional water heaters.

So every time I have to reignite my water heater I add something to this comment. This is the 2nd water heater in 4 years, they replace the first one because it was fully covered. The new 2nd one lasted about a year and a half and started to have problems. I have received 1 head and sensor replacement due to 9 blinks. Paid to have some one professionally repair it. Now I am still out of hot water in December. Customer service is great but you have to wait on the line for 45 minutes. Just proves how much issues they are having with their products. They are sending another head replacement and sensory in case the first one they sent was a dud. Going to waste more money to have it install. Find another brand of water heater, Rheem seems to be living on their past quality and makes crap now.

We purchased a Rheem furnace 3 years ago and have problems ever since. It quits every winter. The control panel goes and there is not much you can do. At this time, I have been without heat for five days. We live in Prince George and the temperature was over 30 degrees below. Needless to say, we have been very cold. Fraser did come out right away and determined that the control panel was not working again. The water pipes were freezing and despite our small heaters, we had to call in a restoration company to heat the basement so the pipes wouldnt break at $150.00m call out plus $35.00 per day. It would seem that we have a very inferior product. Our old furnace was 30 years old and we never had any problems. Thirty below is very cold and we have had enough. The parts were supposed to be in yesterday but now we have been told maybe tomorrow. Any advice and how to we get this bad product replaced?

I will never again buy a Rheem water heater, and I recommend you dont either. Two years ago I bought, had installed, at a cost of over 1200.00 a Rheem water heater. You would think that the manufacturer of this product would stand behind it. Well they dont. To have this unit fixed it cost me an additional 600.00 dollars. Their response was, Sorry sir. We cant help you. Two years for something that should of lasted at least eight years. By the way that is what they told me my warranty was good for. So do yourself a favor and never buy a Rheem water heater, or any other of their products.Shame on you Rheem. I am certain Im not the only one who got reamed.

We bought ten of the direct vent models for our 10 apartments and they turned out to be the worst nightmare we got into. Everyone has failed either with hard lockout or leaking at the drain valve. Their technical support is always looking to deflect the fault to installation, venting or something else. Their use a plastic pipe for drain valve which cracks and leaks. We was on the phone every other day to asked for support. Some of the techs came to their sense and request brass drain valves, many of them just insisted on sending the same plastic valve again. They never tested these drain valves. Everyone has a hairline crack which leaks out water making a mess. Every time this happens, it takes them a couple of days to send replacement. After I gave a scathing review on their website, they quit talking to me. I now pledge to make sure consumers do not buy these direct vent heaters again from Rheem. Please avoid at all costs!

Pilot issues, part will take 2-4 days to get here. Already been without hot water 10 full days. Long waits on customer service lines, nobody cares. Worst company and product ever! I will NEVER again deal with Rheem products or furthermore Home Depot for installs either. Do yourself a favor. My air conditioning company came out Sunday and removed the cover and the whole inside was covered with oil. Its still under warranty, so they ordered a replacement coil on Monday and I received a call today that it is on back order from Rheem and they dont know when they will receive it. I called Rheem customer service and was told to call my service company and have them call a district supervisor. I live in Florida and it is getting a little cooler (80s during the day). Its still hot without an air conditioner. Ive been reading other reviews and it seems that Im not alone. THIS WILL BE MY LAST RHEEM PRODUCT.

I called Rheem, and was told the supplier’s representative could help. The manager told me they have tried with no success. He told me that they no longer recommend Rheem. I replaced my 15 yr old HVAC unit with a Rheem about 3 years ago. Since then, Ive had the fan unit outside replaced in yr 2 as it was unbalanced. Not from misuse and not from damage. That leaves quality. Now in yr 3 I have a blower unit that is acting up and goes into alarm so frequently well turn the system off at night as there is no way to suppress the alarm. The tech said that the control unit in the motor senses hesitation in the motor and throws the alarm. When the blower doesnt start a second alarm is thrown for the main limit switch. A061F and T022F are the codes shown on the EcoNet t-stat display. The system is still under warranty but Ill end up paying over $300 in labor to replace another major component due to another quality issue. My old system wore out but never had issues like this. I would advise anyone NOT to buy a Rheem. Hope their QA people read this.

Purchased a Rheem 3.5 ton 15 SEER split heat pump system in January 2014. Because of all the problems with the unit right after installation the outside unit was replaced March 2014. Weve had constant service calls for the unit not cooling, abnormal loud noises when the unit comes on, wires touching that disabled the system, coils leaking in the inside unit which called for replacement. We were promised in 2014 that a Rheem rep would come out and that didnt happen until March of 2015. I have a service technician here right now because the unit decided to quit cooling yesterday. I wouldnt recommend this unit to anyone, even my worst enemy. The Rheem rep in my area, Sleeping Giant in Childersburg AL, doesnt care about service after the sale but Ill save that for another review.

On Tuesday, May 1, 2018 my water heater, which was purchased and installed on 8/28/17 stopped working. We contacted Rheem and was told that they would send a replacement part and would send someone to install it. After we received the part, Rheem told us that they did not have anyone to service our area and we would have to find our own person. We contacted several companies and we finally found someone to come out, but they wanted to be paid at the point of service. The contractor informed us that it was the wrong part, so we contacted the company again and they sent us another part. The new part arrived on Friday, May 4, 2018 and after installation the contractor informed us that the machine needed to be replaced. We contacted Rheem again and they told us that they would put in a request for replacement through one of their companies and we would be contacted within 24 hours. We waited the entire weekend and Monday morning to be contacted. Finally, we called Rheem back and they gave us the number to the contractor whom they sent the order. The contractor told us that they told Rheem that they do not service the area. We contacted Rheem again and they told us that they would need 24 more hours to contact another company. On Wednesday, May 9, 2018, I was told by a rude representative that they have done all they can do and she would transfer me to another department, who she said could help me. I spoke with a new rep who was more understanding of the fact that I have not had hot water in over a week; however, he put me on hold and transferred me to another department. I spoke with another rep who told me that I can find a person on my own because it was nothing they could do. I asked to speak with a manager and she told me to hold on and transferred me to Fidelity Bank. We have not found a company who are wants to work with this company and no one can help us with this faulty product.

First of all, because this is a new tank, the parts are not available in stores or from suppliers. And of course it always works out that things quit on a Thursday or Friday. That said after a misdiagnosis they sent me a part that worked for one day then quit but being the person I am, I dug farther and found that what they said was broken and the part that was broken were two different things. They sent me the assembly for the igniter, the problem was a cheap weld job on the circuit board. A piece fell off and I resoldered it which fixed the problem but created another. They wont send me a new part under warranty as I modified it in their words. I never heard such a crack but anything to not have to warranty something. Moral of the story is buy a reputable brand with parts that can be purchased off the shelf. When youre out a thousand bucks and have no hot water, youll remember this if you buy what I bought. Model XG50S09EC40B0 by Rheem and I bought mine from Home Depot. They had no parts and offered no solutions.

Please before you buy a Rheem HVAC, research the quality of their coils. A year after purchasing a new system I have been experiencing dirty sock syndrome. It is a known issue with the coil and there is a known fix, the coils need to be dipped with in a bronzing solution or an epoxy. This prevents mold and bacteria buildup on the coils and then spewing the spores throughout your home. Rheem calls it an environmental issue and refuses to reimburse for the costs to have the problem remedied. After installation either a UV light or a Global Plasma System at my expense, my issue may be resolved, again Rheem refuses to reimburse my costs. I am also reading that their coils have a problem with corrosion and failure, once again a problem corrected by dipping to prevent the corrosion. Buyer beware, the limited warranty is just that, extremely limited, no labor to replace defective parts, no Freon replacement costs on defective equipment, no labor to correct their known issue with dirty sock syndrome. I guess they think these things just magically fix themselves. I bought my unit from an authorized Rheem dealer and was told these were some of the best units on the market.

As part of a major remodel project, which included new plumbing and gas lines, we had a Rheem tankless water heater installed in the summer of 2012. In about 7 months we began to have trouble. When the hot water was turned on somewhere in the house, the tank would attempt to fire up but wouldnt actually ignite, and then the unit would flash an error code #11. The person needing hot water would wait and wait for it but would never get it. This happened more and more frequently. The plumber who installed it sent a Rheem rep out who blamed it on insufficient gas pressure, without actually testing the pressure. HVAC guy said we had large supply line to the unit. Rheem manual (only obtainable online) was of no help. Finally after months of a continually worsening problem, a person on the Rheem help line told us it was probably dirty ignition coils. She gave us instructions on opening up the unit and gently cleaning the fragile coils. Now we have to do this complicated process every few months. Very annoying! And the most frustrating thing is that my friends with other brands of tankless heaters have never had to do anything to theirs after many years and they LOVE their tankless heater. I HATE mine!

I bought a Rheem water heater in May 2017 from Home Depot. 7 months later it failed right on Christmas Eve. I called Rheem and the warranty part was sent quickly, but since they could not find any contractor in my area to do the work, they said I can use anyone local. I filled out the warranty claim and sent all the required paperwork back on Jan 2nd, 2018. First they said itll take 6 - 8 weeks to process the claim. Its now 2 1/2 month (March 16th, 2018) and my claim was still not processed. The last time Ive called, I was told that they were back-up in the warranty claim department (wow... imagine how many units have failed that could create such a back-up), but since its more than 8 weeks, theyll expedite my claim. Guess what, expedite or not, my claim is still in limbo somewhere. Very disappointed with how Rheem handles customer claim. No wonder no contractor in my area wants to work with Rheem. People, please dont buy Rheem, not worth it when you have to be hold 45 minutes on the phone with them or call them every month to check on your warranty claim just to hear the same excuse.

Now Im told that I will receive an e-mail in a couple of days telling me how to get a part a couple of days after that. That means no hot water for six days. Request to speak to a supervisor. After 30 minutes on hold, I get tier 2 support - just another call center. Told that the warehouse is closed at 3:00 pm and the part might ship tomorrow - meaning only five days with no hot water - If they really do ship the part and it isnt defective - which some other posts suggest it might be. Two months after purchasing three Rheem hot water heater on July 6, 2015, the water started smelling like rotten eggs in two of them. Contacted Home Depot where I purchased them. They told me the heaters were still under manufacturers warranty. I contacted Rheem numerous times via email on Rheems website and did not get a reply. Home Depot then gave me their number. Spoke with a representative who told me it was not their problem it was my water. I explained about the other heater that did not smell. She said I would have to purchase a chlorinator for each heater about $250 ea. and sent me an email with information where to buy them. I said it was the anode rods and they said that was not covered under the warranty. After that, a friend would flush the heaters with hydrogen peroxide and that would help until I went out of town. I was tired of asking him to do this so contacted Home Depot again on Jan. 8, 2017. This time they told me to call Asurion, the extended warranty I bought. That was a huge waste of time and money as they gave me the runaround too! After reporting Home Depot to the BBB, I was contacted and they contacted Rheem. Fortunately, the device is still under warranty, so the plumber directed me to inform Rheem so that I could be sent a replacement. I called Rheem and was surprised that Rheems customer service wanted me to do a bunch of diagnostic maneuvers on the device. Isnt that what the plumber listed on their website who came out did?Regardless, I did as Rheem wanted. Finally, they conceded that it needed to be replaced and was under warranty. But then they said for me to take advantage of the warranty, I need to disconnect the water heater, take it back to the place of purchase, pick up a new water heater there, and bring it back to my place. The water heater is 75 gallons in capacity, and disconnecting and transporting a water heater isnt something the average residential consumer can be fairly expected to do. Requiring me to do all of that functionally more or less makes the warranty a non-warranty. Overall, Ive been unimpressed with Rheems service and warranty.

I purchased this unit from a very reputable HVAC installer in the Knoxville TN area. The unit was installed in June 2010. Less than a year I had to call them because the unit went down. It was repaired under warranty which also included the labor. From then I had to have it worked on every year. Usually the parts were under warranty but the labor and freon were not. Once I spent over $800 dollars for Freon. I switched to another company for service a couple of years ago. They have since replaced two condenser fans (fans were under warranty but the labor was not). I have had relays replaced. They installed a hard start on it.This last week, would not heat except on auxiliary/emergency. I was told that the compressor was shot. It went out of warranty in June of this year. It has been an absolute piece of JUNK!! I was told by my technician that this unit was made the first year that the Freon was changed over. I guess that they did not do enough testing before putting this piece of junk on the market.

I purchased a brand new unit in July 2019. It was installed on July 26, 2019. On Sept. 22, 2019 the unit stopped working due to the refrigerant totally leaking out of the unit. My cooling service man found a leak where the tube coming out of the expansion valve was split at the connection. Since it is brass it can not be welded so had to be replaced. Original installation and unit cost $4200. Cost to replace parts (after rebate for warranty parts of $99.00) $630.00. (I have to pay to have them ship me the parts also, $25.00.) Cost of room a/c unit due to medical issues and 10 days to wait for repair $341.00. This is a manufacturers defect so be aware that this problem exists. They will not cover it. They do not stand behind their product.

Purchased new Rheem water heater. Installed in new home 8/27/2020. Tested pressure relief valve as instructed in Use & Care Manual. Valve would not fully re-seat and leaked to ½ gallon in 24 hours. Tried valve several times to see if it would flush out any material that may prohibit it from closing properly, leak continued. Called Rheem Tech Support at 1-800-995-0982 on 8/23/21. Sat on hold for 27 minutes before being disconnected. Called a second time, on hold for 51 minutes before someone answered only to tell me I had wrong department and they could not help. Called Tech Support # again, on hold 37 minutes, asked for a supervisor. Was told that Parts Warranty only good for 1 year from manufacture date. I was given a part # and told I would need to purchase part for about $37. Told them I have documentation of when Water heater was installed and put into service, that doesn’t matter, parts only good for one year from manufacture. Started calls at 11:30 AM, ended 1:45 PM, over two hours. This water heater touts a 10 year Warranty, evidently need to get to fine print to learn that parts that will commonly fail are only given one year from date of manufacture. I am a builder and have had multiple Rental properties, this water heater was for my own home. This in my experience is the worst customer service/support ever, I will personally never purchase or install another Rheem product. Buyer beware, you are dealing with a bloated, self-important company if you deal with Rheem.

On 8/2/2013 I purchased a 5 ton a/c system model# RPHLHM6024JC, serial # W201312660 from ARS. On 2/12/15, a leak on the outside unit, which resulted in loss of freon, had to be fixed. This was deemed a manufacturers problem. After a long argument ARS decided to pay for the repair. On 3/17/2016, during a routine servicing, the tech advised me of another manufacturers problem - a leaking evaporator coil resulting in loss of R410 refrigerant. I was told workmanship will be $585.00 (part is covered by Rheem). Two major problems tell me that this product is a LEMON. I think Rheem should stand behind its products and do not make consumers, especially the elderly, bear the burden of its shoddy manufacturing process. I am just one of the hundreds of Rheem customers who have claimed about their products and I hope some agency will make this company shoulder its burden.

The problem I experienced is a serious safety issue and I hope as many people read this and spread the word as possible. My Rheem 40 gallon hot water tank started to leak gas at the Honeywell valve internally. The tank is installed in a small closet which is a confined area in which combustible natural gas can accumulate. When I contacted customer service they tried every way they could to get out of sending a replacement part. Because of my experience and the seriousness of the issue I decided to do a little bit of research and discovered that I am NOT the only individual who has had this problem.I used to install hot water tanks when I was younger with a plumber friend of mine and I can tell you that I have never heard of this issue before. It just did not happen on the older non digital gas valves. I have since found out that these Honeywell gas valves are notorious for breaking down and they are used by many different hot water tank manufacturers. The leakage issue is a serious problem in a confined space natural gas can easily blow up and cause a fire. To make matters worse if you live in the country and use propane which is heavier than air the combustible gas will build up around the combustion chamber making an explosion very likely. These malfunctioning Honeywell valves are all over the internet and YouTube and have been a well known problem by the manufacturers for several years yet nothing seems to be done about them! I would advise people to avoid any tank with these potentially dangerous malfunctioning valves period. I would also advise people to avoid Rheem products in general based on my customer service experience. They should have been happy to replace the valve considering the dangerousness of the situation instead of asking so many questions and trying to get out of it. They dont have the customers best interests in mind based on my experience.A lot of the issues with this companys hot water tanks are with the Honeywell gas valve and malfunctions of said valve. Neither company seems to be interested in fixing this problem. I would stay away from these hot water tanks and these valves in particular if I were you! You just shouldnt have to deal with these kind of problems.

In September 2016 we had to replace our Trane A/C and heating unit, because a/c went out and the Freon situation. It was replaced with a Rheem 410A Heat pump. We had A/C repair issues before the end of 2016. Probably 3 or 4 in 2017 the same in 2018. Now we are in 12/2019 about the same amount. The A/C is out which went unnoticed to the cooler weather until the heat went out. So here I am in Mississippi in December with no heat or A/C. Since the loss of our Trane unit we have had to invested in portable A/C units. Have always liked Rheem water heaters, never a minutes trouble with one in my home while under warranty.

Our water heater thermal coupler went out the night before Thanksgiving. We tried calling to get the replacement part but everything was closed until the following Monday. We called the tech support and the customer service said that he has been doing his job for so many years and it was not the thermal coupler and said it was the gas control unit. We took his word since he said he was the expert. We paid to have it expedited for next day. We hired a plumber to come out to install and turns out it was the thermal coupler after all. I paid for the plumber for the service call. I called Rheem and after over an hour waiting was finally able to talk to the manager and he agreed to refund the expedited delivery charge. Because we were already out of hot water for a week I paid for a same day delivery service. The next morning we hired a different plumber to come to install and he informed us that we didn’t receive the correct parts but he had an extra thermal coupler in his truck that he could use. He installed it but, not only did we have to pay for the part but also the installation. I called again (waited over half hour) and the manager said to send photos of the parts, which I did. He sent an email for me to call to discuss.Again, waited on the line only to be put through to someone else, went through the whole story again only for them to tell me I had to speak to another manager. Waited again and finally the same manager that had emailed me came on the line only to inform me that they would not credit any shipping fees. I offered to compromise and pay for the same day service but he refused, was condescending and not willing to help at all. I highly recommend you stay away from any RHEEM water heater products. Both plumbers that came said that they are the worst to deal with.

I purchased a 7 year warranty water heater in 2017 at Home Depot. I installed it (Im a mechanical engineer and have lots of home improvement experience). About 18 months after I purchased it, it started having long recovery times. And after 20 months it quit altogether. A quick troubleshoot indicated that the elements were shot - and that the factory installed lower element had a pinched gasket which was causing a pinhole drip type leak. This obviously was starting the entire lower part of the water heater to start to corrode. I called the folks at Rheem, and they talked me through a complete troubleshoot again - and with my handy volt/ohm meter they determined that not only were the elements bad, but the upper thermostat was too. I mentioned the gasket issue which they brushed aside as a normal operational issue. They promised prompt shipment of the parts.About 10 days later the elements and the thermostat showed up. I drained and pulled them. No surprises - both were burnt through. Im pretty shocked - Ive never seen this ever before! EVER. And Im 54... I replaced the parts and figured that Id be good for a bunch more years (before this experience I was used to water heaters lasting 12 to 20 years!!). Imagine my surprise to hear a sound come from my water heater that sounded like my Arc Welder turned all the way up and welding 1/2 plate steel! The sound stopped after about 30 seconds and sure enough: no hot water. Didnt pop the breaker either. Removing the upper and lower thermostat, I discovered significant corrosion in the lower one (probably due to the leak - I checked mine after install several times and no leak - but I used a bit of food grade silicone grease on my install to prevent kinking, just like on a oil filter of a car) was corroded. A bench test of the upper confirmed that it was dead too. And, to make it a trifecta, the lower element showed infinite resistance (burn out). The upper showed 14 ohms so I left it in place. I drained the heater and removed the lower element to find that yes, it was burned thru. Cheap junk, just like the thermostats. At this time Im real unhappy with Rheem. I suspect a serious supply chain problem with shoddy parts may be to blame, but I am concerned about the manufacturing quality as well because of the gasket. Im a bit concerned that maybe the steel (which shows surface corrosion already!!) may be substandard and have rot starting. Or inferior welding... or.... Im thinking that even though I spent $850 for this junker, its time for a new one. I live 40 miles out in the country and dont want my house burning down due to an arcing heater - or someone getting electrocuted.

We have now been six days without hot water as the rep forgot to overnight the part and it now the weekend and they cannot send it until Monday for Tuesday delivery. We called Home Depot for help at this point and their policy is after 90 days we own it and they cannot help us with it unless we want to pay them an additional $100.00 then they would try to help. Dont waste your money and time on this product and think twice about purchase a major buy at Home Depot! Going to give up and just throw away the Rheem and purchase a different brand! I purchased three separate Rheem HVAC units for three of my house. Has one unit failed within three months and needed a new water pump. One unit failed within 9 months and needed a new fan motor and the third unit managed to last two years and needed a new condensing fan motor. For what you pay for these systems I cant even see one of them failing this quickly but three systems is inexcusable and I dont run my air conditioning hard at all. I keep my house at 81 degrees and the two other houses are kept at about 75 or 76 degrees. There is no excuse for these units to fail this quickly.Every time I call Rheem they just tie me up in questions about serial numbers and product numbers and they never give me a firm answer as to why the systems failed so quickly and they obviously have never made any offer to reimburse the expenses of repairing these systems. The first two were covered under the warranty. The third one was not because it failed in two years so I was stuck paying for the repair. Im actually afraid to use my air conditioning for what might break down next and I cant see these systems lasting 10 or 20 years. If theyre breaking down like this now I dont know who regulates HVAC companies but Rheem needs to be reported. They are either making substandard products or they are pawning off reconditioned systems as new systems.

The electrician double-checked all the wiring but it didnt work and mentioned that there is some problem inside. We called customer service and they said, We can send parts, and we have to get it repaired at our end. THIS IS RIDICULOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE. How can we repair and why should we spend another hundred bucks to get it repaired. We didnt buy this brand new product to take the pain to repair. The buyer is taking possession next month. I want it to be repaired or replaced asap. I would appreciate if this matter is taken seriously and solved immediately. Manish

Last Spring 2016, I had a contractor install air conditioning in my 2 story house beach house. It was not possible to run ducts on the first floor so Fujitsu ductless was installed and works beautifully. Unfortunately, on the second floor I had central air conditioning installed and paid additional to upgrade to the Ruud brand. Big Mistake! The contractor had problems upon problems with the equipment. Because the equipment did not work, the compressor had to be installed twice and the coil/air handler needed to be installed three times. In summary, the contractor wasnt happy with all the time he spent and wasnt paid for and the installation wasnt finished until mid summer ruining my summer.

We had a new air handler installed in our condo in the spring of 2014. Since that time, we have had the evaporator coil replaced three times and the blower motor replaced once. Although Rheem offers a ten year warranty for the parts, they will not pony up for labor for the customers out of pocket expenses. It cost me $1450. Despite the fact the coils are obviously defective, Rheem will not take any responsibility for a product that is less than reliable. I bought a new property in 2/2006, warranty for water heater is 6 years. I did not occupy the property until 7/2006. Rheem will not consider move-in date inreplacement of unit. However, aside from the six year limit, this unit has been defective from the start with major replacement parts, motor, vents, etc., which are on file with Rheem. Now, the water heater itself is leaking a few weeks over warranty. This unit is defective and should have been replaced. Does Rheem considers 6 years to be the normal working life of their water heater? Since I have been informed by the plumber that this is the only water heater that can be installed, I have no choice but to replace with inferior Rheem water heater again. I would have expected to be compensated by Rheem for the water heater, especially since this is the only model which can be used.

This is the 2 Rheem 360 gallon hot water heater model G65-360-1 that has leaked in less than 5 years. The 1st one lasted under 4 years but because Rheem only offers a 4 year warranty from date of manufacture not install we had to fork out $15,000 to have another heater installed Dec 2016. Going with the same model allowed for quick replacement which when your business is closed because of lack of hot water fast is best. Now 14 months later our heater that cost more than a small car is leaking. Rheem comment although they have agreed to replace the heater not sure yet if they are paying the $2000 install fee was that they very seldom have what they call a leaker. When I told them to look up the serial number of the one the new leaker replaced the agent claimed we are not having much luck with their heaters, we would send it back and put in a John Wood but Rheem wont give us a refund. The price was reasonable and I received tax credits. On Jan. 13 this year after 5 and a half years the blower motor went out on a night where it was 7 degrees. That cost me $574.00 account 10-year warr. void if you dont have annual maintenance. This is an easy way to not stand behind your product. Sunday night furnace went out again. The crew couldnt repair the problem because it now needs a whole new circuitry board which is the brains of the unit. Im the one who needs some new brains for buying this lemon. Rheem Corp. Office or website has no phone # to vent. I guess they got tired of all the whining. So Ill grin and bear it. You have to admit it is a brilliant strategy to sell and service poor quality units, the business never quits. My Rheem heat pump is barely 2 years old and Ive had to have the refrigerant filled up 3 times!! Last winter, unknown to me, it all leaked out after being filled in June and my heat bill skyrocketed to between $200-390 for 4-5 months due to not having the refrigerant in it. Then this morning I had to have it serviced again due to no refrigerant. Thats how I found out about the defective copper. My serviceman finally told me what the problem is. My heat pump is supposedly under full warranty, but, and because of, RHEEM using this faulty copper, I have to pay for the refrigerant, and the labor to have new coils put in to replace the defective ones!! Im on disability and DO NOT have the money to get it replaced. I am still paying off loans for the heat bills this past winter. The labor is approximately $300-500 to replace the bad one, with the cost of the refrigerant on top of that? Please help us wit h this.In my opinion as a consumer, if they used faulty material, why do I have to pay for it to be replaced? I had good faith that this was a brand new, in working order, heat pump and ac unit. I read a lot of bad reviews on this manufacturer and am wondering why no one is doing anything about this? We spoke to someone from the company this morning and yes, they knew about the issues that myself and apparently, hundreds of other people, are having with this manufacturer.

Plus, I could not get any of their contractors out for at least another 2-5 days. I called back and spoke with a supervisor who said I could take it back to store and get replacement. I told her I did not have receipt but I did purchase date and product registration. She said that would not be a problem because they have the ability to look that up in their system. The store only prorated the product. I called again and spoke to another supervisor, Mike #**. I told him that the price difference it ended up costing me was $65.42. He said they would not be able to reimburse me because I didnt have original receipt. I told him that the supervisor I talked to previously said it would not cost me anything. They confirmed they only came as a complete system and I would need to purchase the replacement air handler. I questioned that logic as since the original outdoor unit was being replaced due to a problem the attic unit should be replaced at no cost. The system has been down since the first week of July 2018. Have made several follow up calls to no avail. Stay away!

Rheem is a good product, well made, and has a great track record. Parts are easy to get and it is easy to repair when needed even though that’s rarely. The life span of a Rheem is 20-25 years. If I had to purchase another heating and air unit it would be a Rheem.

We had a Rheem two-stage R-410A Heat Pump (4 ton) (2 speed) outdoor unit with matching 4 ton air handler (variable speed) installed in September 2014 by Home Depots contractor ARS with county permit. We know it was professionally installed correctly. We signed up for the service program with twice yearly inspections for maintenance. Everything checked out until our March 2017 service call when it was discovered that the static pressure was too high. When the air handler panel was removed you could see that 2/3rds of the A coils was covered with frost, a result of internal restriction. Also, on close examination, you could see rust all around the tubes where they came out and went back (U shape). My contractor did a replacement installation of the coil unit. The unit itself was covered by Rheems 10 year warranty but not the labor, so I was out $997. This for a coil unit that was not 3 years old, the date of manufacture was July 2014, installed September 2014. Very poor quality. What is most interesting is that the replacement coil unit is all aluminum. The contractor/installer said all the new Rheem units similar to mine now come with the all aluminum coil units. This tells me that Rheem knew it had junk and switched out to the all aluminum, which will not have a rust issue and hopefully not an internal issue with restrictions.

I had completed construction of my new home in 2001 with a 40 gallon Rheem water heater. It lasted until mid year 2012 at which time it developed a leak in the side of the tank about half way down from the top. I was surprised that it only lasted eleven years when past experience was more like 20 to 25 years. I purchased a Rheem 50 gallon water heater on 6-20-12 and immediately experienced trouble with the lower element leaking. The plumber came out and removed the element, cleaned everything and put it back together with Teflon sealer. I notified Rheem, but no one ever returned my call. Yesterday, 11-27-17 I noticed water in the containment pan. I pulled the lower cover and found the lower element leaking again. I tried to reach Rheem customer service with no luck! I strongly recommend avoiding Rheem Manufacturing water heaters. Looking around on the internet, I am not the only one who feels this way. What a terrible company.

6 years ago, I purchased a RHEEM water heater from Home Depot which lasted only 3 years with only two in the household. June 18, 2015, I purchased an American Standard from a private retailer after researching the best water heater to purchase which also lasted only 3 years. It was a terrible, stressful ordeal with both companies. Rheem and American Standard each sent parts for their 6 year warranty stretching two weeks until Im stressed to the point of purchasing a new one because none of the parts solved the problem. Apparently this is what these companies count on... the customer getting fed up to the point we choose to buy another water heater for $800 every 3 years in exchange for a hot shower!!! I am a single parent working part time for LAUSD on summer break with $766 to my name. There goes our summer savings... again. Time to try another company. Im convinced all are the same... they may last 3 years with if youre lucky. Its like pulling teeth to get them to honor the warranty, and you will not get a replacement without spending a ton of money for a licensed professional in the process, which is why Im buying another brand. The water heater I had when I moved here lasted approximately 12 years with no problems. Old school. They dont make them like they used to. See you all in 3 years.

18 months ago I bought a Rheem water heater from Home Depot and had it installed by them. Friday night, May 25, the pilot light went out. We were unable to keep it relit. Called Rheem. (Has six year warranty.) Paid $1600 for the heater. They said it probably needed a Pilot Assembly Replacement kit. They would send one to my home from the parts dept. However, since it was the beginning of the Memorial Day weekend, the part couldnt be delivered until Tuesday!!! (Four days later). Their parts department wasnt open all of the three day holiday. So, on Tuesday morning, I called to track the part. They couldnt tell me anything, except it would be sent out that day, and arrive on Wednesday. Now five days without hot water. I asked to speak with a manager. Said nothing he could do would expedite the part. He was sorry. Very poor PR for Rheem. Additionally, Consumer Reports, that I belong to had no ratings for Water Heaters. Not a happy consumer today. Very upsetting.

I purchase my unit in 2013 and have had trouble with it ever since. The heat works fine, but the a/c does not work for an entire season. When it was first installed it would not stay on because of the water sensor. I had to reset the sensor multiple times, until they finally replaced it. Turned the unit on in 2014 and it didnt come on. They had to come out three times that summer. Now its 2015 and again the unit would not come on. They got it running. A month later it is frozen up because it is leaking. They put in a sealant and now another month later it is leaking again. They refuse to replace it and just keep wasting my time fixing it.

I had 2 Rheem HVAC units oGas/AC) installed in my home in May 2014. One unit is for upstairs, the other for downstairs. In October 2018, the downstairs unit would not cool properly, low on freon, technician added freon and a sealant to hopefully seal the leak in the A coil. Then May 2019 the upstairs unit A coil had to be replaced. Now today June 24, 2019, the downstairs unit A coil has to be replaced (guess the sealant did not work). By the way, according to the technician who installed the unit and did the repairs, in the upstairs unit stated that the warranty did not cover or expired?? Do money out of my pocket for PART & labor. Now today the downstairs unit needs A coil replaced. I contacted the technician today and gave him a rundown on the dates, charges, and work done over the last (barely) 5 years since the install of these units and asked if these units didnt have at least a 5 year warranty? Note.... The company that installed the units amis the same one that services them. Researching in the internet, it appears that many units are warrantied for at least 5 years, some 10, 12 years or more. So, in my opinion, go purchase another brand of HVAC.... Stay away from Rheem. Check the warranty and get it in writing before you decide to have it installed.

Our experience is exactly the same. So what can we all do. We are about to replace the coil (aluminum versus copper, our HVAC serviceman says will make the difference). He is not 100% sure the problem is there since the leak is very small. To really check will cost about 600 for a nitrogen test. I bought a Rheem 50 gal. residential gas hot water heater. Installed it myself, because its not difficult. Lit the pilot and gave it ample time to heat. Got a shower that evening and the water temp. alternated from warm to cool and continued to cycle that way throughout the entire shower. Couldnt get any help from Home Depot. Most reps there dont know their ** from a hole in the ground. Looked online and found some broke-** plumbers asking for donations to solve problems. What I did is what most should do, but dont because they dont have the time or cash. This is precisely how a company like this survives. There is not enough coverage on what a piece of ** product these ** put out. Just another sell out company that has junk put together by those from the land of dirty **. Had a plumber buddy suggest Rinnai. So I drained the Rheem and took it back. Put a Rinnai in and lived happily ever after. Because Im from back east and dont mind speaking out. Every time Im in Home Depot, supply yard, hardware store, etc.. Ill check the plumbing supply aisle, and have thus far talked 3 people out of buying Rheem products. Feel like getting Rheemed Id say. That doesnt hurt their profit, but if people keep it up and bad mouth them every chance they get, especially us contractors, eventually they may build a better product or at least hire a few professionals to help. Either way, Im from the old school and its too late, will never buy anything this company puts out and have steered other contractors to this site, so they can see for themselves the amount of dissatisfaction. Thank you Consumer Affairs and all those who took the time to help talk me out of buying Rheem.

I turned it off for 10 minutes, turned it back on and watched through the window. I watched the igniter turn red and the gas turned on the burner, lit for a second or two and a click and it shut down and recycled and lit again, this time staying on. This has happened 2 more times. I had an A.O. Smith power vent for 10 years and the only reason I replaced it was because I didnt want to spend $175 on the new power vent that was coming apart. If it was they would send another part out. We have been without hot water for almost two weeks. Im tired of the runaround and took it back to home depot for a refund. Not say same part each time either. Multiple parts have been replaced each summer for the past 4 years. Alternative, replace unit. Really after spending $360,000 to build house. Parts are always on back order with Rheem, the parts you get from them seem to fail quickly and multiple times, and when the repairman has to make multiple calls to even get the parts department from Rheem to call him, theres a problem. I replaced my water heater with a 50 gallon propane unit after my previous water heater failed. I dont recall which brand was replaced but it had been trouble free for years before the bottom rusted out. The new unit started having hot water consistently issues and because the warranty department said they were out of stock on replacement control valves which troubleshooting identified as the problem. I was authorized to get a new replacement water heater from HomeDepot. Within a year, the water temperature stopped holding. Warranty sent a new control valve. This took care of the problem for several months until it repeated. This time they wanted me to contact a repair company to verify there were not external issues like low propane pressure, water supply issues, etc. All checked out and they sent me a new control valve. 7 months later, and the problem repeats! I called again, got transferred and put into a queue with a half hour delay and hung up in frustration. Ill call again when I have more time but I have lost all confidence in this brand. When I had asked a previous service support tech at Rheem about the issue, he said they were getting the parts out of Mexico and chuckled.

For those who do not like to read long reviews, all I can say is that I cannot be more disappointed than I am with Rheem. Simply DO NOT buy a Rheem product, unless you like dealing with a product of marginal quality, and a customer support team that is beyond incompetent. Early in 2017 our 40 gal water heater needed to be replaced. We went to a local store and found a nice Rheem (or so we thought) gas water heater. Had it installed professionally, good to go. Soon after installation, every time the burner lit, there would be a loud bang of a small gas explosion. We called Rheem, and they said they ...have no technicians in the area, call a local plumber to look at it and well reimburse you. OK. We did as directed. The plumber came over and suggested a complete replacement of the burner assembly. Rheem declined, and sent only a small part. It didnt fix the problem. Another call to Rheem. And another. And another, with repeated visits by the plumber. Finally, after three months of back-and-forth, Rheem sent a full burner assembly. It fixed the problem. We then read the instructions on how to get reimbursed. It was quite complicated, and required all sorts of paperwork, including a W-9 from the plumber (even though Rheem must have had records of all calls and directions). I submitted the paperwork via email. I waited. And waited. No acknowledgment of receipt of paperwork. I called Rheem. After being put on hold for 1/2 hour, I finally talked to a representative. They claim that my reimbursement had never arrived (this is email, folks, if it doesnt arrive, you get a bounce-back message). I patiently resubmitted the paperwork via email. And waited. And waited. I called again 2 months later. By this time the fun had dragged on for 5 months. The rep said that the paperwork had been received, but that it was under review and a decision would be made whether or not to refund within 6 weeks. Six weeks passed. No check. The clock is now at 6 1/2 months in this story. At about 8 weeks, I tried calling again. The customer service option when calling Rheem was disconnected. I tried calling the contractor line, but they would not talk to me unless I had a contractor license number. I told them that the residential customer line was disconnected, and they babbled something about a technical problem. Right. Sure... I went to the plumber and asked for assistance. They called the contractor line, spoke to someone, and that person said the check would be sent immediately, and that there had been a problem with the paperwork I had sent (they had never told me this). When the plumber asked what the problem was, the Rheem representative couldnt be specific. At this point I was getting ready to go to small claims court. Three weeks after the plumbers call, the check finally arrived. Ive deposited it, and, based on historical activities, have my fingers crossed that it doesnt bounce. In the end, Rheem reimbursed us over $600 for repairs to an $800 water heater. If they had just authorized the full burner assembly requested at the first call, it would have been closer to $150. I have dealt with terrible customer service in my past, but this is a new low. And sadly, from what I understand, this is a more common occurrence than any decent company should allow. DO NOT BUY RHEEM!! By the way, the technical issue with the residential customer service line is still on-going, 4 weeks after I first encountered it. Pathetic.

Well thought I was making a good purchase. The first electric water heater that I bought had the element go out twice. The first time they came and repaired it. Now the heater was only 6 months old on the first repair. After that not even a month passed and the element went out again with water also leaking everywhere. So after that on the third visit they notice that the element was not screwed in right causing it to leak again. They replace it with a newer model that was going to be better but my luck, one week into it and eco goes out. They send the part. Had to wait a week for it just for the repairman to put it on and now my breaker is jumping. The repairman then tells me thats its probably my breaker. Hint my breaker had never jumped having the first water heater. So technically the repair did an incomplete job because I still have no hot running water. Now customers services doesnt want to deal with my wife. It is up to you if you think its worth buying this product. But I will never buy from them again. Not worth dealing with the repair people and their customers services. Best of luck if you buy.

I probably need to replace the Rheem water heater installed in new house in 1974. Its still working with only heating elements being replaced a couple of times. But reviews I read online about newer water heaters of any brand has me wondering if I should just hang in there!

Had a plumber install a Rheem 40 gallon propane water heater installed in December 2018. In September 2019 the unit quit working. After several hours on hold and some troubleshooting identified that the internal combustion shut off device had failed. Had a plumber out who confirmed issue and was perplexed with an unusually high amount of soot in the water heater. I explained there was a fire below the burner, which seemed very odd. Once the new part came in we replaced it and it lasted for less than 15 minutes. I then had a second plumber out who checked gas pressure, venting and that everything was installed according to code. We discussed the issue and that Rheem no longer makes good products. We both contact Rheem and explained all the trouble shooting we had done. After an hour on the phone with multiple contacts they finally agreed to send a new burner and internal combustion shut off device. After more than a week of cold showers for this family of six we finally got the parts. New parts were installed and it seemed to work great until today December 1 2019 when the internal combustion shut off device failed again. Been on hold for 45 minutes waiting for customer service. Keep in mind that there has been no change to the venting or the gas pressure. Save yourself some headaches and buy a different brand.

Compressor on my Rheem unit serial # 7842W281100514 failed 9 years into a 10 year warranty. Oil leaked from compressor into lines destroying entire system...coil, condenser, transfer lines. Got 2 estimates to replace and both were appx $5500. Rheem said they would give me $570 only to compensate for their faulty compressor but after spending half of summer 2020 with no a/c whatsoever, and countless hours on the phone with two different Reps, I have received nothing. Comically, the last correspondence I received was a rep explaining Id receive the $570 after I paid the installer in full myself. When I questioned this and asked how this would be done procedurally, they went dark...have not heard from them in months. I have literally spent 20-25 hours trying to recoup their measly $570 offer. At this point, I do not want another Rheem system and am pursuing alternatives.

We installed in January 2010 an RGRM 95% efficiency brand new furnace with an authorized contractor from Rheem. In September of 2010, we had to call the dealer to help turn the furnace on. We are once again unable to get the furnace to turn on this October. The Rheem technician is asking us to call the dealer back in and pay for labor. This is a brand new furnace, why should we have to call the dealer in every September/October to help start this furnace? Obviously, we have a faulty unit that Rheem is refusing to help us with. An older 30-year-old furnace did not give us any problems. This is supposed to be a brand new furnace and Rheem is asking us to purchase an extended warranty

I called the company about my tank that’s 2 years old and started leaking, the plumber I called told me that the gas control has to be replaced. Every representative said it’s a different problem and they didn’t want to send me the part my plumber needed to fix the tank. Now I’m stuck with a leaking tank that’s only 2 years old.

NEVER BUY A RHEEM HOT WATER HEATER. We bought a 40 gallon Rheem hot water heater from Home Depot. After 2 weeks we awoke with the house full of fumes and the carbon monoxide alarm was sounding. Here is my experience: 1. They dont actually have technical support. What they have is untrained people, without any actual experience reading a script from a manual. 2. If you have the same issue 2 or 102 times they will repeat the same painstaking process each time as though you never had the problem before. 3. If you ask to speak with a supervisor, they are basically hired to ** the customers and duck liability.About me: I just completed building a duplex single handed. Foundation, framing, electric service, gas service etc. I have done my own HVAC and H2O heaters in my own homes and apt buildings for 40+ years. My workmanship is excellent and take pride in getting it right the first time, every time. So after only a few weeks operation, an H2O heater comes close to killing my wife and myself I call the company. After very frustrating phone calls, they send out a tech. After 45 minutes, without checking gas pressures, or pressure switch or actually doing any diagnostics he resets the controller, starts the heater and leaves. 15 minutes later it is in lockout. More calls, nobody listening to the CO/fume issue, they decide to send a new pilot assembly. There is zero possibility of this fixing a draft problem, but it is the cheapest part they could send. So, their solution is to send a 15$ part that wont fix the issue and turn the thing back on and see if it poisons us again.I declined that solution. They said that was all they were willing to do. Home Depot has said they will replace or give store credit which would be acceptable, but we will see if that follows through. One of the HD workers says he gets a very high return rate on the Rheem unit so my guess is HD will stop selling these in a year or two. In short, Rheems response to a critical, even life threatening situation is completely inadequate, technical assistance is less than what any handyman could find on the web in a couple of minutes, and at 1/10 the aggravation.Another issue (might be the same issue) is the bearings in the blower are awful noisy for a new unit. Rheem used to be a good dependable brand and I still have 3 of their older furnaces installed which I have been mostly satisfied with the exception of the cheap bearings they put in the induction blowers. I wont be buying Rheem/Rudd units again unless they have exceptional reviews.

I have 2 homes. Both had brand new Rheem tanks. Neither lasted 6 months. Customer service despicable. They sell you garbage. Take your money. Hour long wait times to get thru to a human. Offer to replace after hours of calling. Weekdays ONLY. My one home had 3 replacements. Other home had 2. 5 tanks total. None worked. Has one job. HEAT WATER. Threw them both away and paid out of pocket for a reputable brand.

I have now bought 2 Rheem water heaters in less than 5 years.. The first one had the burner and ignition fail. The second one started leaking at the bottom in less than 2 years. Customer service is not only difficult to get on the line but unhelpful once you do. Avoid this company at all costs!
