Samsung fridge freezer slider does not move

Samsung fridge freezer slider does not move
Posted On: July 17, 2023

I have a Samsung fridge passed down from the old tenant.

It was working fine till summer weather hit hard.

It was not cooling properly, so I tried to set the slider to the recommended setting.

It does not move! I forced it but it just won't budge.

Does anyone have a Samsung fridge with the same setting type? What am I doing wrong?

Question from user spesifikbrush at Appliances at reddit.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your Samsung fridge. While I can't know the exact model or settings of your fridge without more information, I can provide you with some general troubleshooting steps that might help.

  1. Power cycle the fridge: Unplug the fridge from the power outlet and wait for about 10 minutes before plugging it back in. This can sometimes reset the control panel and resolve minor issues.

  2. Check the temperature settings: Some Samsung fridges have separate controls for the freezer and refrigerator compartments. Make sure you're adjusting the correct slider for the section you want to change. The recommended temperature settings are typically around 37°F (3°C) for the refrigerator and 0°F (-18°C) for the freezer.

  3. Consult the user manual: Locate the user manual for your specific Samsung fridge model. It should provide detailed instructions on how to adjust the temperature settings and troubleshoot common issues. You can usually find the manual on Samsung's official website by searching for your fridge's model number.

  4. Seek assistance from Samsung support: If the above steps don't resolve the issue, it's recommended to contact Samsung support directly. They will have access to specific troubleshooting steps and can provide guidance based on your model and situation.

Remember, it's important to exercise caution when trying to force any component of your fridge. If you're unable to move the slider after following the troubleshooting steps, it's best to reach out to Samsung support or a qualified appliance repair technician for further assistance.
