I like Vikings refrigerator and its use of space. But Im not crazy about the bottom drawer. Many times when I would open it, the sliding drawers would get stuck. The baskets would move and then everything would get crushed. But other than that, everythings good and I would recommend it.

We have had the following issues with this horrible product: (1) sealing system needs replacing; (2) motherboard replaced; and (3) ice maker motor replaced. Additionally, the icing issue in the freezer that others have mentioned also occurred with us. This is the worst appliance ever.

I have used Vikings many times in many homes in the past. I liked the way it functions, and it cooked even. I liked the way it looks, too. It is built well. The range tops and the ranges seem sturdy. I had a conversation with the regional Viking manager. Her name is Sue, local in Sonoma or Marin County. She was very helpful and very compassionate about our issues. As a result, she sent out a second technician to try to troubleshoot what we felt was the problem. They kept insisting that this was just how the Viking refrigerator sounded and sort of that was that.It would be nice if the knobs didn’t stick out so far on the rim. There is about a 4-inch piece of metal on the top that sticks out, so, aesthetically, it would be nicer if it fit back into the counter depth. Also, it would be nice if they manufactured some sort of a piece out of the stainless steel to go with the oven that fits in the crack behind the oven. I know that these ranges don’t all flushed to the wall because you have to have enough room for the plug to go into the outlet and enough room to attach the gas hose. So, it forces the range to stick out even a little further, then it creates a one to two inches behind where you are cooking. So, things can spill or splatter or go down in that hole. I could not get any help from anybody on that. We had to make something ourselves. They have a thing that they put underneath the front of the range to cover the gap where the legs are. They made something for that.

Viking has a long history, good quality, and beauty, so we decided to get a range, and it is superb and beautiful. My wife is in love with it, so’ I’m very jealous of it. We like how it cooks. It’s so even, and it doesn’t need much gas on it. So, it’s a very nice cooking experience. I’m very satisfied with the range. However, I would like to add a thermometer in the oven because we don’t know what the temperature is. We had an electric oven before, and we set it up to a certain temperature and that will do it. However, it is a different experience with gas. So, I dont see a reason why they shouldnt put a thermometer on it. Other than that, the range is very good. And their representatives were wonderful and supportive.

My husband and I remodeled and bought the Professional side by side in 2006. We had it replaced due to a dent in it and the ice machine not working in 2008 by warranty. The replacement had issues too. We have replaced the ice container a couple of times for $300 ea. Now its broken and it will cost $500. We noticed that there were 2 screws that are missing. It has been worked on but not sure if it was factory or labor issue. Plus water dispenser doesnt work. That’s been worked on too. Recently cleaning the fridge out, I noticed cracks on the inside of the door unit. The drawers are all broken. We replaced a couple of them about two years ago for $100 ea. Broken again. The fridge still works, but the breakage is not good.We had a refrigerator for over 20 yrs prior to this that still worked and had no problems. Buyers remorse? Probably. I have pictures showing the issuer cracks inside of the unit. By the way, my hubby and I are senior citizens and take care of our things. I would love to be able to send my concerns to the company with pictures.

Our house had a Viking refrigerator installed when we purchased it. I had a problem with the refrigerators drawer so I spoke with their team and they were great. They said the drawer that I wanted was back stocked. Theyd shipped it to me as soon as they had it in stock but it took about a month and a half. I’m also having problems with the controls. The usual temperature for a refrigerator is 30 degrees and they recommended zero for the freezer. But when I do that, the top shelf which is the refrigerator side gets frozen. We also found out that our icemaker was making noises because there was no water supply, so I had people come out in maintenance. The person who serviced it said that I could be blocking the vents, so we removed stuff in the vents but the refrigerator still does that.

I had my Viking range delivered a month ago. However, Ive been disappointed. It was a new purchase and new installation. I have a double door 48-inch range and they werent level. And then there was a crack with the interior of one of the ovens, and the main oven has stopped working when I was getting my range replaced. It doesnt heat up and I dont know if that is installation or bad switching. The small oven works fine, but the big oven does not work at all. I went on record with the company that I bought the appliance with just to say that I know its getting swapped out but I havent done anything to it. I had used it twice. Also, Ive been forever delayed on getting a griddle cover. I have to think its coming soon but its been on perpetual back order with Viking and right now it looks like a margarined, ugly griddle. I just wanna get the cover. I wanna like it. I want it replaced. I dont wanna have to call anybody on it again and hopefully well never speak again. I hope its not an indicator of any sort of change thats happened to Viking because I did have a range in a previous home and I loved it so much. I had not a single problem with it and I wanted to go back to it again.Their people have been very responsive. There has been many cooks in the kitchen in my liking and I cant keep up with whos doing what, but I appreciate the calls. I wanna get the range replaced but the installation of the new one has been pushed back again which bugged me because that was another weekend of no real sizeable oven. Also, I have small children so its a pain in the behind but I just wanna have it done and over with. I picked Viking over some of the other premium lines and I wanna stay with it but I wanna get it right this time.

Weve had Viking in the past and the Viking refrigerator was in the house when we bought it. It was a new Viking, so we registered it. Its probably the model that was chosen, but to not be able to have water in the door is difficult. When I open the door and want to pull out that longer middle drawer, I cant without opening both doors. And if I want to pull out the right side drawer, I cant do that either without opening the door. Theres nothing I can do about the shelving or the way the drawers is pulled out. So, it isnt really all that convenient. We cook all the time and its difficult to arrange the refrigerator. A Sub-Zero is a better refrigerator for us.Also, were used to having a gas range, so Im not familiar with having electric. The rangetop doesn’t heat quickly and when I turn it off, it doesn’t turn off quickly either. So, its really a challenge to get it figured out on how long do I cook something. And the oven, too. It’s not calibrated properly. So what I normally would cook in 20 minutes takes closer to 30 minutes. I would not recommend Viking to a friend. The dishwasher is the same thing. Those are expensive appliances and I am not that thrilled with any of them.

I bought a Viking dishwater 11 months ago. During this time, I had to call their repair representative 5 times. I was very dissatisfied with this as I had paid more than twice an average dishwasher and expected better quality and not worse. I have been using dishwashers for more than 30 years and never had any problems before this one. Last week, the washer broke down again and the repair guy said that an olive pit had gone past the filter and into the drain, and he claimed that this was my fault and the warranty would not cover this situation! Now, I always wipe plates and try to get everything off but it is possible thata pit might be stuck to the bottom of a plate or glass and isnt the filter suppose to get that? I consider the design of the filter to be faulty and called Viking but they would not accept paying for the repair. I will never buy Viking again and will relay my experience to everyone I know and recommend them to stay away from Viking products which are highly priced, have poor reliability, and bad customer service.

Wife and I bought a house with a beautiful kitchen. We saw the Viking professional line in the house and it seemed like a blessing... until we moved in and the nightmares began. Two months into our living there, the dishwasher and refrigerator, both 2006 models have already broken several times. Little things are broken all over the inside of the fridge. The freezer does not seem to defrost and Ive manually had to chop out ice from the pan inside, which is nearly impossible. Dishwasher cannot get dishes clean at all, leaves a deposit. Weve been using citric acid and scrubbing inside of washer by hand... no effect. We know an appliance repairman and he has a policy of not touching VIKING at all costs. Our nearest repairman who says they will fix is miles and miles away, and gives a no guarantee disclaimer on all things related to Viking. Another guys asked us for an up front retainer and our credit card before hed even start and when we said no (seemed shifty) he said good luck because nobody wants to touch them. My parents had a GE refrigerator for 40 years. Our last fridge was Maytag and was 1/8 the price, no probs. Had a $200 GE dishwasher in old house that did a better job and no breakdowns for 10 years. Stay away from Viking.

I bought 1st one mid Year 2015, the panel buttons caved in, rendering the microwave unusable, at 18 months. Purchase a second identical microwave July 2018.Second microwave had no updraft of exhaust, tons of exhaust flow from the top, repairman couldn’t determine where exhaust was coming from. Magnetron did not operate properly microwave, sounded as if motor was straining, lagging and power was not even. Excessive condensation built up inside door. Viking replaced microwave instead of trying to fix it. It took about a month to get replacement. I received a call at 445 that installer was Enroute and should be here by 6pm same day.Last night I got the 3rd otr microwave, in 3 years. Mentioned that updraft exhaust was not good, microwave #1 had excellent exhaust (updraft). Was told by installer that these don’t really operate that well. Probably the most honest thing I’ve heard. Love my Viking range. Hate the microwave, wouldn’t buy another Viking microwave, yes I realize 80% are made by Sharp. Would look to another brand.

We wanted high-end kitchen appliances so we were looking at either Viking or Sub-Zero Wolf. We wanted to make sure that all of our appliances match so we went with Viking. Weve had the range for about a month now and so far, no issues. I feel like its pretty high quality, although when I put it on simmer or very low heat, it tends to lose the flame, so it is hard and I have to really adjust. I cant go all the way low or it will flame out, and it halts my cooking. Other than that, were happy with the oven. It definitely feels sturdy from the knobs to the door. It seems like its well put together so I appreciate that. I havent had issues with cooking. It seems to have a pretty strong flame and for everything that we are using it for, it is doing the trick. The infrared boiler is really nice. I just have to get used to it because it would get very hot. We burned a couple of things and we realized how powerful it was.We had an issue with the fridge. The right door that has the little piece that is supposed to move when shutting it so it can go in wasn’t lining up with the tracker thing that pushes it outwards. They came out and fixed that. Also, the top piece of the microwave wasnt put properly, so we just had the guy who was fixing the door do it as well. Overall, I am happy and I will definitely recommend Viking.

Ive always heard that Viking Refrigerators were top-of-the-line. I looked at brands like Samsung but they were kinda new in the market and we preferred going with someone who has been doing it for a while. We have never really gone top-of-the-top but we were doing a remodel. We went to Pacific Sales and it was very good. We started looking at top quality versus the standard ones that they offered and decided we could spend a little more money. The dishwasher was thrown in for free so, that made it a no-brainer. I called in to get everything registered and the gal who answered the phone was great. She helped me because we had to add some zeros to the model number. She was really good because she gave me a heads up when I was doing the refrigerator and hadn’t done the stove. Calling in to get the service was very good too.The layout of the refrigerator was really good as well as the warning system. We liked the shelves and the door. We can pull up the grids on the burners of the stove, take the burners out and there’s a little shelf that you can pull out. It’s great and makes it so much easier to clean the stove. Its also easier to cook and I don’t have to worry about the surface top getting dirty. Also, switching to gas from electric made a huge difference. We heard the oven was good quality, but unfortunately, we used it once and the igniter was not working. So, were waiting for the part and we want to use it.

I have had my Viking 2 door refrigerator since 2001, I love it! I say that, but it has been leaking since day 1. I have had more repair people out to my house than I care to admit, because tempory fixes are still cheaper than a new one. My issue? Water leaking from under the refrigerator, it has been happening off and on since 2001. And today, 6/8/2018, there is so much water on the floor of my kitchen I had to leave the house today (for work) with a ton of towels on the ground and I am working to get someone to come out to my house (AGAIN) to try and fix it. My other concern is even attempting to try and find a fridge large enough to fit into the spot that the Viking fridge is in (if I attempted to replace it). Sad, but still LOVE my Viking (I know, I am crazy).

Our house came with Viking appliances. The refrigerator/freezer VCSB423SS started thawing food in the freezer. The Viking authorized repairman diagnosed the problem as a floating restriction and quoted us $4,000 to decontaminate each unit that uses freon (evaporator, heat expander, etc.). That amount is only for labor since the unit is still under the 12 year warranty. I cant believe it will cost $4,000!!! Can someone from Viking verify this amount?

Would NOT recommend to anyone a Viking dishwasher... Purchased Viking products for newly constructed home 2 years ago. Because it had the Viking name I thought it was a trusted brand. Lesson learned big time to do the homework prior to a purchase. My Viking dishwasher mirrors the innumerable complaints in this thread... Its loud, cycle lasts 3-4 hours (absurd), never dries OR cleans completely... and also has a funny smell. I must also mention the design internally... machines priced at 1K less are more functional and hold more.ONE MONTH AGO as I started washer it made a grinding noise. I located authorized dealer that handles Viking appliances still under warranty (mind you Houston 4th largest city in US and they have one (1) authorized dealer for entire city). It took one (1) week to get an initial appointment - tech arrived week two (2) diagnosed problem, drain pump broken and placed order for new part. Week three (3) I was phoned by authorized dealer and told part SHOULD arrive week five (5) and only given a TENTATIVE timeline as to when to expect tech to return. Needless to say I am not a happy camper, and it should not take over 5 weeks to service a dishwasher. More expensive is NOT always better and VIKING is a perfect example. My advice: DON’T BUY VIKING - do your research!!!

We bought the Viking stove through Setzers and as a part of getting that, we also got a dishwasher. It was a deal they had going on. But the dishwasher has a gasket down the side which slid down and got bent. So we contacted Setzers and told them, and they contacted Viking. It was really strange though. They sent us a note saying that someone was gonna come out and I thought it was crazy. They were coming out to put a gasket on, which was something that I feel like we could do. But okay. They could do whatever they wanted to do. But when the guy came from Viking, his work order said that we had a gas leak and that was why they came. It was really strange. I told him we didnt have a gas leak and that we just needed the plastic gasket piece. He said he he was gonna order it but it’s been three weeks and we still haven’t gotten it. So I probably need to check on it. That aside, he was super nice and really helpful. He even showed us a few things about the stove that we didn’t realize it could do. And even with that, I would absolutely recommend Viking. It has always been my husband’s dream stove. He’s a builder and when he would build upscale houses, they always seemed to have Viking appliances. So when we were building our house, that was his thing. If it was possible, he really wanted the huge six-burner Viking stove. Viking is definitely a pricier stove but it’s worth the money. The quality is good, and the unit is beautiful and substantial. We love it, particularly the six burners on the cooktop. You can have plenty of things going at one time, and that makes it easy.

We purchased a new Viking all refrigeration unit and it has been nothing but trouble. Ice forms on the back wall and around the fan unit. The fan started to make a terrible noise because it was hitting the ice. Hadco (the Viking rep in Florida) has sent repairmen a number of times, but the issue is still not solved. It appears to me to be an engineering problem as there is no positive seal when the door closes. This would allow humidity to build up inside the unit. We have used Sub Zero before, but the Viking unit appeared to be better designed - it is not. I am in the process of trying to arrange for a replacement refrigerator.

It’s expensive to get that repaired when it plugs so I finally learned how to do it myself. I put towels all over the place but it freezes up. I got a good deal on floor model for my new house. Wolf and Viking were our go-to brands and Viking Ranges price point was better than Wolf. The Viking dealer we bought it from was more of a challenge. We had a damaged Viking hood that we had to get replaced and I know the product was non-Viking. We got a fourth trim kit before it was not dented out of the box. If I didnt go in there and follow up all the time, I wouldnt have it. They could have answered emails or returned phone calls. And I was very disappointed that we spent like $38,000 of them. But we eventually got it all resolved four months later. Its the best oven weve ever owned. When you cook meat in it, everything just comes out so much better. Its easier to cook them to temp. We cooked one of those Tomahawk steaks for the first time and it came out just like in a restaurant. It was amazing. My wife likes the gas grills because before weve had all kinds of high-end electric ovens over the years and they were okay but not like this oven.

However, the door doesnt look like it closes all the way but they told me that’s ‘cause of the gasket that’s on it. It almost looks like it’s a little open on the side but they said that all the Viking Ranges are like that. There was also a problem with one of the gas jets when we first got it. I’ve owned Viking before, and I like the features they had on this particular model. It’s easy to purchase. But Ive had to contact them multiple times. It’s a piece of garbage. It’s broken multiple times. We have a two oven model. The oven will go into self-cleaning mode and lock, even though we’re not trying to clean, we’re trying to cook. And it’ll take days to get the oven unlocked with food stuck in it. Ovens will just die because they won’t heat properly. We have the electric oven with the gas burners. And so, we’ve had failure to heat multiple times as well, with defective relays, defective elements. It’s also very hard to get a serviceperson to come. And when they come, they dont fix it. I have been using Viking products for a couple years now. However, one of the things that I’m having a problem with, and this is the second kitchen we put in, is it seems like every time I buy Viking, it comes in broken. Last 2012, we did the kitchen and the refrigerator came in and they had no compressor. I told them to take it back, but they wouldn’t take it back. So, I bought a rebuilt. They can fix it, but I tested that and then I was like okay. I supposed it was just bad luck. And then this time, I used it and the refrigerator came in broken again. So, I have a broken refrigerator there with the door that is not working. Then, they got to come back and then the dishwasher got a bulk. As soon as the guy came out, I’m like, “What is wrong with you guys? Every time I get something from you guys, is it just my bad luck or what?” Out of four appliances, two of them broke. That is ridiculous. I also said that we do our kitchen every four years and I’m doing a kitchen down in Florida. That was to start this month and I’m behind and I told him I can’t be bringing in stuff that I know I got a way to get it fixed and I’m not there. I said I can’t do this. Nevertheless, everything else looks good. The Viking dealer was fine.

The first time they came, they installed a product that was damaged and they were very good about coming and removing it. They gave me a new one because it obviously had been dropped. They got that done within a month. I like that I can control the temperature which is easy to do but the refrigerator that we got needs some work. The rubber seal that goes around the outside is not good at all. It’s folded over and not sealing on one side. The quality is fair and the door that opens down should be tighter.

I like my Viking refrigerator. Its a good-quality refrigerator. When it got delivered, there was a piece of plastic wrapped around the motor inside of it. There was no problem getting someone out here to work on it. They came out really quick. Also, whenever I had an issue with it, I went online and I was helped out and pointed in the right direction very quickly.

At the beginning, I wasnt happy with Viking - they didn’t have good reviews. After I went to the store, the guy convinced me that they had changed and they were doing a better job with them. He told me to try it out and that if I didn’t like it, they would take it back. The refrigerator was making a noise and that was bothering me. We had a GE for 16 years and it was fantastic so when I started hearing the noise, I figured I made a mistake. We have called somebody to come and check it out, but they said everything was okay. I dont know if they adjusted something but after that, it’s been working pretty good. I like the bottom drawers of the refrigerator. It’s like a long drawer and has a nice size since I can put a lot of stuff in there. On the other hand, the toe grille was not put in properly. One side is lower on the floor and the other one is higher. Even though we try to screw it in, it doesnt do anything and it just keeps coming down. I was thinking of calling the other day about that because it was bothering me. But other than that, Im very happy with my Viking. I havent had any problems yet and I have it almost for a year now at the end of August.

The Viking range is a great product and most of all, they have great customer service. I had some problems with the first Viking range from the beginning when we bought it. But things like that happen and the way it was handled was very good. Overall, the experience in terms of the customer service, getting everything done and changing the range was excellent. They listened and paid attention to the problem that I told them we had with the range. And they acted on it. That aside, the quality is very good. I like the style and the look of the product and my favorite feature is the oven. I did not have the convection oven before and I like that I can have both features now, conventional and convection, as well as the different settings. Whenever I cook or bake, it comes out better.

Our Viking Microwave was 5 years old when it stopped working. We had an authorized service person come to fix it, at great cost - more than most new microwave ovens cost - but within six weeks it was broken again. We got the same repair service in, but again it broke. Now we need to pay for the company to pick up the microwave and fix it - all on our dime. When I suggested it wasnt worth it, the service guy agreed - especially as it only costs $1400 to buy a new one! - #nomoreviking.

Viking has a good reputation, but weve never used a Viking refrigerator, so we didnt know what to expect. The refrigerator has been better than what we thought, and it was well priced. We went by the brand name, and so far, we havent been disappointed. Weve had our Viking since November 20th of 2018. We purchased the product from a Bellevue Albert Lee office, and they were great to work with. They were very responsive and helped us make the right selections on our appliances in general and the Viking refrigerator in particular. Weve been very pleased with the Viking refrigerator. It meets our needs. I like that it has a really good size freezer and ample compartments. The way the compartments work and the way were able to access and store food products has worked out well for us.

I have owned Viking for the last 15 years, in 4 different homes. One of my kitchens is a full suite of Viking appliances, with a 48 range oven. In the past 5 years Ive moved three times, and each move I purchased a Viking range, to make me feel like home. Over the course of the last 5 years, I was able to experience the changes, primarily changes to cut costs, but the warranty was 3 years, something that Viking was very proud of. So, I continued to purchase with confidence. In May of 2014, I purchased a range with a 5-year warranty, which remained at my old address. My last range purchase was Oct. 2017, which I believed to have the normal 3-year warranty. I had to change the oven fan last year, which is an ongoing problem with Viking. There are also ongoing issues with their oven doors and grates, which prompted my call to Viking customer service today. I wanted to schedule service for the continuous problem with the fan, the oven door which does not close properly, discoloration on the stainless lip that meets the burners, unsafe oven racks. The customer rep that took my call, was rude and told me my warranty was expired. I told her my range is less than 2 years old. I was shocked when I learned that my warranty was up, and with her rudeness and dismissiveness. She told me that Viking changed the warranty program and that I should read my manual. I then called the company I purchased from and they confirmed the 1-year warranty and that I should have read my warranty before purchase.I feel as though Viking has been dishonest with customers who are repeat customers and familiar with them. There was no way for me to know about this change unless the salesperson made me aware of it, and they may have not known themselves. At the time of this purchase for the range or for any purchase of any appliance, which I have bought my fair share of, I have never been given manuals to read before purchase. Ive always relied on my experience with products, companies and salespeople. This is disappointing as I have nowhere to go and this point, no one ever contacted me with perhaps purchasing an extended warranty either. Im confident that Im not the only consumer whos experienced this surprise in the last 2 years. And Im also confident that customers whove spent well over 30K in repeat business would be treated better than a buyer beware clause.

In 2009, we replaced our 17-year-old SubZero with a Viking Refrigerator (15.2 cu ft of fridge and 5.1 cu ft of freezer). Aitoros in Norwalk, CT threw in a Viking wine fridge for free. The doors to the butter shelf broke very quickly after purchase and the cheese door is cracked. We also purchased an extended warranty. Bottom line, the service company after 5 attempts to fix the refrigerator told us we were keeping the door open too long. We are empty nesters who work all day and are nowhere near the kitchen. Calls to Aitoros did nothing. Calls to Viking Custom Service referred us to another store who does not service appliances purchased elsewhere. The service company who covers the warranty is unresponsive. For the last 6 months, our food is in the vintage, mustard yellow, GE refrigerator vintage 1977 (in the basement) which works like a champ. I would never, ever recommend a Viking appliance to anyone. I will never purchase another appliance from Airotos who we have used for the last 20 years. Whatever happened to customer service? It seems we have no other alternative than to go and buy a new refrigerator.

The sales part was absolutely a pleasure. I bought the Viking appliances at a great store which has all the high-end stuff. For some reason, I picked Viking because I have heard of it in the past. I didnt know any of the other names but I looked at everything. I liked the oven probably because my wife is short and the way the door opened and the way she could access the oven was probably the only oven that was like that. So, we purchased it. We knew that Viking was a good name, which was why we purchased all the rest of the appliances to match. Every appliance in my kitchen is Viking and I’m very unhappy that every piece came with some kind of damage. The refrigerator door never opened correctly and the cooktop has a little blemish on the front of it in the face panel. But I have no problems with the top and bottom oven. Thats been great. The refrigerator was less than a year old and it has been having a problem with the LED lighting. They have been going out so I called for service. They sent somebody who came completely unprofessional and scratched the inside of my refrigerator with a pick trying to get the light out. The whole inside of the refrigerator is powder-coated and it is not replaceable. The service guy spent two hours there and never fixed it. I called complaining that he made a mess out of my refrigerator. He said that with everything thats going on in the world, there are worse problems in life than a scratch inside my refrigerator. This is a $12,000 refrigerator. After about two months later, he finally came and replaced the burnt-out LED lights that were in it and he touched up the scratch.

I purchased brand new Viking appliances for my entire kitchen. I got a refrigerator, a dishwasher, a microwave, and a 36-inch gas range. I happened to be at Best Buy and walked by their display. I knew Viking was very reputable. I had it quoted to see if it would fit my needs. However, purchasing the appliances there was a nightmare. It was probably the most painful thing Ive been through. Every single product delivered to me by Best Buy was a disaster. Its because once it leaves Viking, it actually goes into a contracted service that Best Buy uses, and its their distributorship that caused the problem. They had way too many hand offs, they had a product coming out of Mississippi and went into distribution centers, and they were supposed to make it to Minneapolis. This is also when the products will be damaged as well, like the dent in the microwave. My refrigerator was delivered completely dead on arrival. They installed it and told me it was gonna take 24 hours for it to cool. The next morning, its as hot as it was when they installed it. The fridge had to be completely replaced. Furthermore, it took almost 12 weeks for my range to be delivered. I was getting the runaround from Best Buy. I kept getting excuses on why they told me they couldnt find my range. I told them, How do you lose a 36-inch range? I dont understand. They said, Well, it didnt arrive. They were a no-show at the loading dock. I had used the range one day, it had a short in it and burned up the entire range. I know that these issues wasnt Vikings fault and I dont think they had any control over what was happening once it was purchased. I felt like the CEO of Viking needed to know about my experience because of the distribution. I did a Google search for the CEO of Viking, and I called and left a message for him on his voicemail. He called me within an hour. And the next day, I had resolution. I had appliances being delivered and everything being handled. They sent a Viking representative out of a smaller-type of distributor, and not a big box company. He was fantastic. Best Buy was putting all the blame squarely on Vikings shoulders because every time I would call them they told me that all the delays were because of Viking. It was ironic that once I did get a hold of Viking, the problem was handled within a day or two days. I would recommend Viking to a friend, although I would tell them never to buy through Best Buy.

My friend had a Viking Range and had a good experience. Viking brand is also well-known so a level of trust comes with it however, I was a little disappointed in the overall experience of getting the range. I ordered it from ABT Electronics, an online store not local to my place, and the first time it came here, it was damaged. So we had to return it but it took a little bit of persuasion from our side to make them understand that if it’s broken, it’s not our fault. They shipped another one and we got it installed by a professional here who does Viking installations, even for the local store where we had seen the range. When we used the oven and the fan started, it started making a lot of buzzing noise and there seemed to be something loose inside the thing. So we asked for the warranty repair and it took weeks for them to schedule a repair. The guy who came was very nice though so I was totally satisfied with the behavior of the individual. He tried to fix it and it appeared, at that time, that it was fixed. He pushed it back and then he went away. But after that, the noise was still there. It was less but it was still fairly loud.

I am a advocate of buying American-made every chance I get. So, I was excited that our new place was equipped with all Viking appliances. That being said, I have been very disappointed with all of our Viking appliances, and wish we had something else. As we speak, our dishwasher is making an obnoxious beeping sound. It will not stop. It has been going on for an entire day. I have tried disconnecting, shutting of the main power switch--everything, but to no avail. Dishes are piling up and I am just angry at this stupid machine. What is the point of this stupid design flaw? What is the beep telling me and why cant I shut the stupid thing off. This is just one of my many complaints about Viking. The oven hood/exhaust is insufficient. The burners do not always ignite and when they do the click of the igniter will not stop. The heat distributes unevenly. The oven often just shuts off and ruins whatever I am baking. It will reach 400 degrees and then I come back and my bread is a gooey gob because the oven is cold. The refrigerator/freezer is very poorly designed and the plastic shelves and drawers break very easily. The freezer has basket shelves--it is a bottom freezer drawer under the fridge. So, you put stuff in and the stuff ends up slipping through. The refrigerator water dispenser does not have a light to indicate when the filter needs to be replaced. The dispenser doesnt work if you put the fridge onto the lowest temp available in the model. And, the company has a poor environmental rating because they use a lot of energy--a lot more than Sub-Zero or Bosch, and the filters are not recyclable. With our Bosch, we could send the filters back to the company for recycling. So I would never buy another Viking product. I have used Thermador ranges as a personal chef in other peoples home and they are far superior. I have also envied their Sub-Zero and Bosch appliances. In our other home we had Swedish (Aksa) washer/dryer and Bosch appliances. I miss them. A lot.

Ive had a Viking before in my old house but Ive had this new fridge for three weeks and so far, Ive had nothing but problems with it. Everything I put in it, either in the vegetables part or the upper part, is freezing. Everything in the back is freezing. Even though it is cheaper than what I had before, no one will wanna spend $5,000 on a fridge and have problems the very first day it gets there. It doesn’t make sense to have that. Me and my wife decided to get a Viking Range because of the build quality and simplicity. We like it better based on appearance and what our relatives told us of their experiences. However I had a bad experience with the dealer. They told me at that time I purchased that if Im not ready to put a delivery, I can have this range later. Several months later when I was ready, my dealer all of a sudden told me that they cannot deliver Viking anymore. There was some sort of disagreement and they couldnt sell Viking anymore because Viking specifically prohibited this dealer from selling their brand. I actually lost money because Viking raised the price by that time and the dealer referred me to a different dealer and promised that they will give the same price. But the new dealer couldnt provide the same price. The second dealer sold me a Viking and gave me a free warranty. Im not sure if I needed it but at least something as a compensation for a little loss. They delivered a new range. A few days after the delivery when I installed the range, I noticed when turning the handles it caused some sort of noise or feeling that something fishy is going on. So I called and they sent a repairman. The repairman took the handle off, adjusted something around it and after that it became better. The repairman also noticed that one of the screws was not original and it was quite surprising. Either Viking quality control is not correct or someone else changed the screw. I dont know how it would happen. But I rate it as minor inconveniences.

Ten years ago, we saw Viking ranges when we did some other kitchen. We had bought a Samsung Dual Fuel and it was a month-old when it broke, so we sent it back. They brought us another one and that one broke too, so we decided not to go to Samsung anymore. We went out to look for a stove and where we had just remodeled our bathroom, they had a kitchen display for all their kitchen wares and were moving showroom, so all their kitchen stuff were on sale. The Viking Range was 50% off. It was $6,000 but we got it for $3,000. We were looking for a stove, so why not? Ive only had it a couple of months, but I like it. However, Im not crazy about how I cant get it to simmer low enough, and the blue light that clicks off and on, so I dont really ever know when the ovens preheated. Theres no bell that dings and says that its ready, so Im constantly looking at that light to see if it has preheated, and I wish there was. Also, I miss my drawer in the bottom where I kept all my cookie sheets and stuff, and the Viking Range doesnt have it. We had to take our microwave out and get a downdraft, and that was a bummer. It wasnt really a Viking dealer who sold it to me. It was a Fergusons Plumbing lady who did. On the other hand, one thing I do like about it real well, is the way the telescopic tray pulls out in the center.

We installed a Viking range, wall oven and microwave in 2006. In the first few years, we had to repair the range for not igniting properly and the wall ovens thermostat. In 2011, the thermostat on the wall oven stopped working (twice now) as well as the thermostat in the range. This is not a thermostat that is just a bit off. It is so off that they make the ovens unusable. We have been trying to install working thermostats since September 2011.First, the part was back ordered for three weeks. Once installed, it did not work. After three subsequent visits from the appliance repair company, during which, technicians at Viking insisted via phone that nothing was wrong. That repair company found it necessary to hand it on to the distributor, as they had no confidence that Viking could even provide a thermostat that would work. They agreed that the thermostats were broken, but wanted to charge labor, even though we were within the labor warranty guarantee. I wrote the owner of company with a complaint but there was no response. Now, the distributor is refusing to come out again saying that they were doing us a favor by coming out the first time. They did us a favor? Horrible, horrible product and horrible, horrible customer service.

There was a panel that just got replaced this week, and that is not working. And then on the range, the glass in the oven door slid around a little bit. I built a custom home in 2008 and chose to install an all-Viking kitchen, based on their supposedly superior professional performance, quality and reputation. Specifically, I purchased a 6-burner range with a grill and griddle, double oven, double door ref, wine cooler, microwave, dishwasher and food warming drawers! Within the first month, the drawers in my refrigerator both cracked because the door trays hit them every time they are opened and closed. Then the top shelf and the vegetable drawer froze all of my food! The door to my wine cooler keeps flying open and the dishwasher was serviced several times because it started to smell like a wet dog. The repairmen (several came and couldnt fix the thing) said that it was because the hose kinks trapping food and causing it to ferment. So appetizing! Currently, my dishwasher has been out of service for six months and counting because the authorized Viking servicer cant seem to get the part from the factory because its been discontinued! (My GE dishwasher lasted over 26 years and I could always get parts!). Finally, my Viking microwave broke twice in the first four years! All of this inconvenience and frustration just to have friends come over and admire the Viking Professional logo on all of my appliances, at least until I tell them that Viking has the worst-designed appliances ever made and the quality control department should be standing in some unemployment line somewhere for bilking customers out of their hard-earned money! Dont be a victim! Do not buy Viking!

We tried to use some of the functions where it says excel ice where it leads the user to think that it speeds up the time of making ice. But it still takes three days to fill the little bin in there. But the Viking customer service has been extremely well and Im very, very happy with that aspect.

Viking was what the builder was providing as appliances, so we went ahead and bought the Viking fridge to match. The installers didn’t put the basket straight in the freezer so I had to figure that out. I had to go to one of the other houses and look at their fridge to see how to do it. The builder also gave me the wrong fridge. It’s the one with the water feature inside. They gave me an upgrade but we liked to have cold water coming out of our fridge, so that’s the only thing we miss. Other than that it’s been great. I love the freezer in the bottom and the double door where I could put big stuff in. That’s what Ive always wanted. Plus the crisper is really good. Its a very reliable product.

I have a Viking stove that Ive been pleased with it so I assumed their refrigerator would be of good quality. I got a brand new one and it was a store model because the other refrigerator was going to be a three-month wait, which I couldnt wait for. I received the refrigerator in June and I like the appearance of it. But I noticed one issue in mid-July where the door doesnt shut properly. The icemaker then broke in September. I noticed that it was freezing stuff in the back of the fridge. That was probably a few weeks afterward but I suspect it hadnt worked at all. I was told that there are three broken parts in my fridge and there is nothing that Viking can do until the supply chain works its way out. Im not pleased.

I saw a Viking Range for the first time when I was 13 in Architectural Digest and I wanted it ever since. I finally was able to get one. I did look at competitors but the Viking Range was my favorite. I love that its built with such quality and such simplicity. Its the best of design. Its not overfussy. One of my big worries when I got it is whether or not it would be easy to clean. But the fact that the parts all come off and you can just throw them in the sink, I was surprised by how easy it is to clean. Its everything that it needs to be. We got good service and its a good product. It not only works well but also we enjoy the experience of cooking on the range. We live on a farm so were not on natural gas and we had to adapt to propane. Everyone else that we talked to was not particularly helpful. But Viking was able to quickly and effectively solve the issue that we had without replacing the appliance which was really nice cause we were trying to get moved into our house. We also have the dishwasher, the vent hood and the refrigerator from Viking and we really love them. Were really happy with them.

I saw Viking in other peoples home and Ive heard about it before. I liked the look or their design. My builder bought the Viking refrigerator when I moved to the new construction five years ago. The refrigerator part is okay. I like the shelving and the refrigerator is very spacious. The look of the refrigerator looks great and looks very modern. Functional-wise, its a big refrigerator and it has a lot of space, but other than that, its just a refrigerator. Also, I had an issue with the freezer recently. It has a drain pipe to a pan underneath it to drain water. The pipe got blocked and there was icing there. I had the repair service to repair it. I learned from the service guy that I need to do maintenance every year to move the refrigerator out and then its back to prevent any blockage. I had a bit of interaction with the vendor and their service was okay, although it will be helpful if the appliance dealer could have a stronger service department.I have about everything from Viking. I also have a dishwasher, microwave, range, and the hood above the range, but the dishwasher has many problems. It has been serviced by the technician three or four times already. When I had the dishwasher problem, I called the service company and it took seven to 10 days for them to show up. Sometimes I had to wait for a long time for them to show up. I may not want to buy Viking at all because although I had good experience with the refrigerator and everything else, if one has a problem, I may have to buy another different set. I need to have matching appliances. Viking has to take care of everything including the one that I have a bad experience with, the dishwasher.

My experience has been horrible. I planned and did everything right. I wanted to make sure I researched. I wanted to support the country too. What I was thinking was either Miele or Viking. Miele was made by Germany while Viking was made in the US. Ive built my house and everything we use is made in the USA. Pacific Sales told me to go with a Viking. I asked how was their service and they said everything is perfect. When we called them, they said it would take longer. It was about closer to Thanksgiving time. They said it takes about eight weeks to build it. Somehow, somewhere, somebody called me one day and said they had one Viking unit sitting in the warehouse. I asked if it was a return unit and the guy said no. They brought it to the house and installed it. After a couple of months, we smelled gas. I called the gas company and they detected the whole house and found out it was the unit which was leaking the gas so they shut it off. When you turn the oven on, youll hear a tick, tick, tick but it will not ignite. Then it will fill up the whole house with gas smell. When I called the service company, I told them, “The gas company canceled my gas. Can you send somebody so they can fix it? The lady said, Oh, we have until next week. When we told the gas company we smelled gas, they showed up within an hour because it was urgent. The guy opened the whole unit and found out that the end of the gas igniter and all the electrical were exposed. It was sparking at the back of it instead of the front. He said it could cause an explosion so he unhooked it and said I could not use it until they replaced it. They came over and changed it but again, it started the other side. At that moment, I called Pacific Sales. I told them I bought this thing for safety. I have young children. It made me uncomfortable to use this unit. I didnt want it anymore. If they could replace it, that would be great. I didnt wanna keep calling somebody. What I found out was that the best interest of the companies that they use for repairs is to come back because every time they come back, theyre charging Viking service fee. Theyre the one who can make the decision whether things could be repaired or whether things could be exchanged and they always say it will not be exchanged it but it will be repaired. They came back again and this time, the grill was not fitting. The guy bent the pipe. I said, Isnt this pipe engineered and shouldnt have bent like the way youve done? He said it was okay. Theyre supposed to quality check before they ship it. It should have been tested if it closed perfectly. So I called called Pacific Sale back. They kept giving me the runaround. The other day, I called them and said, Every time you do it, the same thing keeps going. Im tired of somebody coming to my house and doing this thing.” They said they were not gonna change. They were gonna send another third party company to look at it if I wanted that but they were not gonna replace it. The griller doesnt work. You turn it on and wait. One day it works, one day it doesnt. They said somebody will contact me within 24 to 48 hours but they never contacted me. The other day, I told the lady, You know me. I talked to you many times, right? She said, Yeah, yeah, Mr. **. I talked to you. Now, I actually have a report for you. My boss told me no, were not gonna do it. I asked if he could call call me but she told me he doesnt call. Im discussing with my attorney what are my options are. Its not right. My familys safety is important. I regret it ever buying this unit. I wish I never dealt with them. I spent closer to $60,000 for that purchase. Viking hood and Viking range are the two things I bought. The rest of it was Sub-Zero and Miele and I have no issue with those equipment.

In March 2016, I spent 17,000 on a Viking professional oven and refrigerator. The oven broke TWICE within the first 6 months. Last week... just over 1.5 years after purchase... the refrigerator went out. Seriously?! I thought I was spending a large amount of money for a better than average product. The Kenmore refrigerator in my garage lasted 10 years, and my Sub-Zero lasted 20! When I called customer service, it took 2 days for them to tell me they would be out in 8 more days! No. They final acquiesced and agreed to come earlier... but they tried to make me wait more than a week. I threw away several hundred dollars worth of food and, evidently, several thousand dollars on sub-standard, overpriced professional appliances. I would steer anyone away from Viking!!! I purchased mine at Best Buy in Houston, and fell for the quality sales pitch. So far, just a quality price tag.

I purchased a Viking 30 electric cooktop Model RVEC3305BSB. It was installed and after they left, I turn on the stove to cook. One of the lights remained ON indicating that the heating element is HOT when the stove is not even on (the light stayed on since then, and it still on). I called Viking and they send someone to fix the issue. The guy said they had to order the part and it was going to take a week. His words hopefully thats the issue, if its not then Viking will switch it for another one. I called to get the status and this time they said 10 days! I called Viking to complain and they said it was expedited to a week. It is not what I expected from a brand like Viking. I bought a new appliance, and yet it has to be fixed, why not replace it with one that has no issues and save us all the inconvenience of all these calls and following up? Three years ago we built our dream home and in it we decided to go high end on all the kitchen appliances. Our oven/range and dishwasher were both Viking. In fairness to all reading this...I love my Viking oven/range. I got the 48 version with 6 burners and a griddle and two ovens. The only thing I regret about it is I wish I had gotten a larger griddle rather than two extra gas burners. So, that being said, I could not be more disappointed in our Viking dishwasher. It NEVER washed the dishes well and drying the dishes was also a big disappointment. We paid over $1200.00 for a dishwasher that not only performs absolutely horribly, but also has started to fall apart. Within two years (of course it broke after the first year because it only had a one year warranty) the L.E.D. displays have already lost half of their lights. One of the folding dish holders in the bottom section has already broken. And this is with just my wife and I living at this home, and for the first year it was our second home.I did call the company I bought it from even though it was out of warranty to see if Viking may actually come through and take care of it, but was told that they wouldnt. Elite Appliances in Dallas is who we bought it through. When Elite gave me the name of someone who could come look at it, the trip charge alone was going to be $125.00. When I inquired what he thought the cost to repair the L.E.D. display...well over $400.00.I am in the real estate investment business and have remodeled well over 100 properties. Ive used nearly every major brand you can imagine and the Kenmore Elite series dishwasher that I paid about 1/3 of the cost of the Viking in our previous home was much more efficient. Let me clarify. The Kenmore worked. The Viking doesnt. Avoid them. Overpriced and under performing piece of junk.

My 36 gas range is 10 years old and the oven has never operated properly. I was told that the gas smell was because our propane was running low. The oven takes forever to come to temp. Now the oven is shot and Viking will not stand behind their product. The gas company came to my house last week and I discovered that two of the ignitors do not work. The heat shield is warped and split on the one side because that ignitor was working so hard on that side. The porcelain is chipped at the back of the oven. There are small holes in the burners, hence the gas leak. And if that is not enough, the springs on the door are not working. I sent pictures to Viking and their reply was, Sorry but here is the name of the repair company in my area (three hours away) and they can fix these problems as long as I pay in advance of their service call. Our favorite feature is the burners and we have five burners now that we’ve actually all been able to use.The sales guy at the Viking dealer was great and did no pressure. He has very high professionalism and knowledge for the product. He totally helped us out and then we looked and told him that we would look somewhere else and get another quote. It was no problem with him so we went and looked at another Viking range somewhere else. We realized that what we first saw was the one that we should have bought all along so we went right back and got it. Viking went well with the house I was remodeling. We replaced a pretty old refrigerator, and I like Viking better. I also like the temperature control feature. But the dealer and the delivery company were jerks. They were just opportunistic and cutthroat. Their business practices were if you don’t say something, its your fault for not asking and you got it. Basically, the kind of person Id never recommend to deal with again. I told the delivery company, “Typically, bring a small van cause you cant get up of my drive way.” The idea was to get the van, instead of a 40-foot or 24-foot semi tractor trailer. And they said it was my fault. They refused to redeliver it, so I called the people who sold it to me and said, “Hey, this is crazy. I told you ahead to have a small van, and the delivery company that you paid to do it is refusing. They said not only theyre not gonna help me, but if I didn’t pick it up in the next two days, they were gonna start charging me for storage.” They pointed the contract clause and said that it has to be deliverable by a full size truck. It didn’t matter if I said something on the phone to them. The contract clause specifically go down the detail, black and white and I was at fault. Therefore, they were not gonna help me. So its pretty bad. But we managed to get it home because my nephew had a pickup truck, so we picked it up. I bought every single Viking thing in my house online from different places, but this is the first time Ive had that problem. Ive never had any problem with the equipment itself. Viking itself is fine, but everybody else did a bad job.

We have a refrigerator which is only a few years old but my wife wanted the ones with industrial-looking handles so we bought a Viking Refrigerator. Also, a friend said that they would be better than Thermadors and Viking has a good reputation. But it had issues with the cooling that was running almost 24/7. It kept running and running and never shuts off except for five minutes and it will run for another six or seven hours. Then, opening the freezer door, it looked like a mist was coming in from the cooling bins where the cool air comes in. According to the sales guy, this indicates too much humidity but he didn’t really know where this was coming from.We contacted the retailer and a guy came by and said there might be an issue. He suggested waiting until it’s in its final place because its still in the living room. Then, hed come by to level out the refrigerator and freezer appropriately and hopefully, the issue would be addressed. If not, they will have to provide some parts. It was a little disheartening considering it’s a brand new unit we paid a lot of money for. Therefore, we will know more in two weeks once it’s in its final place in the kitchen.
