Before the start of our home construction, we asked our developer what appliances theyre going to have. They mentioned they were going to do a Viking Range. I did a bit of research and I thought the Viking would be sufficient. However, we were concerned with the first problem that we had. We had the range on August 28 and we noticed around Thanksgiving that the pilot light struggles into lighting when the oven would go out. It would make a lot of clicking sounds, and surely thereafter, it went out. Unfortunately, we didn’t fill out the warranty certificate at that time. We just moved into our new home. So immediately, we filled out the warranty and called Viking and their customer service team was extremely helpful. Their rep immediately put in the claim to the local service vendor. But the local service vendor was really, really slow. One, their availability to even come out here and look at the range, and then from that moment they identified the problem, they said they needed a new part and we didn’t hear anything from them for a week. We called back to ask the status of the new part, and they said that it’s still in order. At that point, I called Viking and asked if they can help and they expedited the process on their end. It took about a month and a half to get our range from the time it went out to the time that it was operational again. I did not fault Viking because they were very responsive. It was the local service providers which resulted in the delays. Overall, Viking is a good quality and very durable appliance.

I saw Viking Ranges a few times and I liked the quality that it provided and how everything was cast-iron, durable. I like to cook so I told my wife if we’re going to upgrade the kitchen, I’m going to go all-out and get the stove that I want. Something that blended a little bit and had that commercial, restaurant look, and Viking was definitely a factor and their warranty was a big reason too. It is what I was looking for. I also looked at some of the higher-end products but I thought of just getting the one that I want with a higher quality. I got the 30” Series 5 and I like its broiling infrared feature. I also bought a range hood for the top. I already told my wife that if we sell the house, they’re either going to have to pay cash for the appliances or they’re coming with me. I went through Elite Appliance and the shipping was free and the delivery was on time. They had it tracked for me. I got a good deal on my 5 Series. So, I was really happy with them. I would definitely recommend Viking Ranges to whoever is upgrading their house. I know it’s hard. People don’t want to spend that kind of money on a stove. My wife still thinks I’m crazy, but every time somebody comes over, it’s the wow-factor. They walk in and say, “Wow, it’s a beautiful stove.” It makes the kitchen almost like a chef-style kitchen and that’s what I like about it.

The house that I bought had the Viking range in it. Im really happy with my experience with it. I love the center stove. Its huge and it helps me put my plate in there and then make pancakes for the whole house which is very convenient. However, in terms of difficulty, its just very hard to know what temperature the oven reached and how long that would take. Because it doesnt have the setting to say, Okay, pre-heat it. I have to go at least 400 degrees Fahrenheit. And theres no way that tells me that its ready at 400. One time I had one knob that my son broke so I had to call them. But it was out of warranty, so they just said it was out of warranty. I said, Okay, no problem. But they provided me information in terms of who can help me fix it. So I just called an external agency and then set it up with them. Id definitely recommend Viking to a friend.

For 11 LONG years I have struggled with my Viking Refrigerator/bottom drawer freezer. I have had numerous service calls. The freezer/refrigerator drains as it is supposed to but I have ice build up in the freezer. I have been defrosting it every two weeks with a hair dryer for many years. Viking has not been supportive at all and neither has Ferguson from where I purchased it. If a company sells a product, you would think you would have backup, especially since the appliances are so expensive. I have had problems with my Viking stove - wont lock. Problems with my under counter ice maker, problems with my wine cooler and problems with my stove. I keep living with them because they were so expensive and they look good - they just dont work well! Ive learned my lesson. I will never deal with Viking or Ferguson again.

We built and had a bunch of work done, and we bought five Viking Ranges. Everything was shipped good and there was no damage to anything when we brought them in. The quality of the ranges is great. We’ve got three floors and we’ve got two kitchens on each floor, so they pretty much do what a normal household would. We do breakfast, lunch and dinner inside of our kitchens. Right now, we’re having issue with a burner and we’ve already put in a service call for it so we’re waiting for them to come out and look at it. Other than that, everything that we’ve dealt with so far has been great and customer service has been good. We’ve had them since we started the renovation a little over a year ago. They get used and abused, and they’re holding up great.

When we bought the house, we had a Viking refrigerator, a hood and a dishwasher. When we had to replace the refrigerator, we got another Viking because it would fit in to the space in the cabinetry. We bought it from an outlet store where they receive overstock, stuff that people ordered and didn’t like it or something that had been discontinued. Our new unit is working fine and if that’s the type of refrigeration unit you wanna build in, its a fine unit. But theyre expensive and I would advise others to shop around.

Viking has been on our radar for quite a long time and it was something that my wife wanted to buy again since our prior experience in another property. She liked the product and we had good luck with it. We purchased the refrigerator over a year ago and I’ve registered the warranty information in the last few months. I like the appearance of the stainless look to the refrigerator, the layout inside and its capacity. I like it much better than my refrigerator here at home. The product itself is excellent and the Viking dealer was great at selling it. However, the installation focus was not what we hoped for since we had some issues with it but we got that rectified. Viking vet on the dealers very carefully to make sure that they’re being represented well because installation will make or break someone’s view of the product sometimes. They have to make certain that they honor the warranty in case it’s ever needed and to stand behind their product.

We bought a Jenn-Air package. And our Jenn-Air range was leaking gas for several years, and they couldn’t seem to figure out how to stop it from leaking gas. So, I had them take it back and give me a credit. And the store manager recommended Viking as a replacement, and so I went with his recommendation. And that’s how I ended up with Viking. I love my Viking range. However, I feel like the oven takes too long to warm up. It’s a lot slower than the Jenn-Air one was. The Jenn-Air had some neat features that the Viking doesn’t have like it had a timer associated with it. It had a couple of different technological bonuses. But as far as the way it cooks and the way it looks, Viking’s great.

A condominium I bought in California many years ago already had a Viking installed. It was brand new and it had one of the big double ovens with the six things on top and the grill. The gas burners are very efficient, very powerful and I love them. However, were now in our second home in Washington state, and we found out that most of the dealers here have quit carrying Viking. They said it was very difficult to get service up here, so Im a little concerned that I made the choice. I didnt realize they were closing it out when I got this last range. Ive had four ranges, and Ive been happy with them. I had trouble with a couple of things on the range I bought in California in my condominium, including the modernized clock it had on it, but I always got service out and they took care of it. So far Ive had a really good experience with Viking and they were good.

I will never buy another Viking product after what we have experienced with our 5-year old Viking refrigerator. Until this year, we were so thrilled with our new kitchen. Then Jan 5, 2013 came and our refrigerator stopped working. We had to throw out well over $1000 in ruined food. Imagine my surprise to find that we couldnt get same day service for such a serious problem. Only after contacting Dave and Donna from RiverBend and Co, where we purchased all of our appliances, did we finally hear from a service company. They came out 2 days later. Since the parts are so expensive for this appliance, they are not kept in stock. Not only were we charged for the new part over $500, we had the honor of waiting almost 2 more weeks for the part to arrive and a service person to come back to install it. A horrible 2 weeks, but at least it was after the holidays and the refrigerator was able to be repaired. October 28, 2013, I came home from work to an alarm. Our freezer had defrosted again! By the middle of the night, the refrigerator alarm was going off. We lost everything for a second time! I called VESCO, the company who repaired our refrigerator the first time and they had no availability to send someone out and were not very interested in our situation. They recommended I call HADCO, and after 24 hrs received a response that they had great news - a serviceman would be in our area in 8 days! I think that is unacceptable. I started searching online to see if other Viking owners had had similar experiences. There are thousands of us posting similar reviews online about these refrigerators. We are heading out to buy a cooler today and now have to wait until Monday to start calling again to get a resolution. We are so disappointed that Viking does not care about its customers. Buyer beware.

I like to cook and nothing is better than a Viking range. It looks great, professional and it heats up super fast. I also love that there is no electronics on it and the convection oven is awesome. On the other hand, the delivery was a bit of a snafu. I was supposed to get set up for install and delivery. They came and they said they were only there for delivery. When I said no, the guy told me the price of the install and hauled away. I was not in town, so it didnt get installed and I had to reschedule. I also got the dishwasher with the range and the face on the top of the dishwasher got scratched. I called and called, and left a message to have the dealer fix it. The little flap where the detergent is put to soak off also needs to get fixed. Other than that, it all worked out because I got the awesome range which is quality.

Viking Combi oven model vcso210ss - This is an unsafe product. The trays on this small unit have no stops. As a result of this design defect, the trays slide forward and down. Because of this downward motion, anything on or in the tray has the potential to splash or fall onto the door, which pulls down, or onto the hands of the consumer. Fortunately, no injuries to date but will probably use mostly in the microwave mode which requires no tray.

Where do I begin. 4 and half years ago, we remodeled our home and bought Viking appliances which we have been very happy with EXCEPT for the horrible, horrible dishwasher. It has NEVER worked properly, EVER. So much so that after 2 years, I got Viking to replace it with a new one and its still doesnt work well. It spontaneously starts beeping, non-stop, the cycle takes FOREVER. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. A friend recommended to get a less expensive one, stainless steel but that will work better. I have been familiar with the Viking brand all my life. I bought a 30-inch dual fuel range from them two months ago. It is the very first Viking appliance I owned. However, we had to have a repair immediately because a fan was defective on it. They were prompt in getting the repairman out and getting it repaired under warranty work. I was pleased with that. But I still need to figure out how to monitor the temperature to make sure it’s calibrated right because my baking seemed to be different than in the past ovens. It doesnt seem to be baking as quick. So, I wonder if it might need to be calibrated that the temperature is running a little bit low. Other than that, the dealer and the technician were very good. I got a good deal on the product and so far, Im satisfied with Viking.

I was looking for higher end appliances, so we decided to go with Viking and have had nothing but problems. The refrigerators doors had a crack in it. The doors were not aligned. The freezer is always kind of opening and not sealing properly. Its a bit noisy. Then there was indenting, and this is the second time it happened in the fridge. I dont know why. I realized I have an extended 10-year warranty with PC Richard so I had the guy come out again, and he said he had to order a bunch of parts, and he placed the order. I hope that is being handled. As far as my range, its horrible. Im always having trouble. It is a very high-end stove that the burners half the time arent working. Its not holding the proper temperature inside. I feel like its a limit. I would put it on 400 but it only went to 300. Viking replaced the burners a couple of times. They come and fix it, but it reoccurs. Theres something wrong with the actual range itself. And then, when I called Viking because of everything that happened to have it serviced again because they canceled my last service due to the COVID, they told me Im out of warranty now. But its the same problem Ive been having since I got the range. Ive called in again but nobody has gotten back to me. They were supposed to push it up to management. I made a complaint with the Better Business Bureau regarding whats going on.

We then picked out other Viking products to go with it. However, the refrigerator has leaking problems and I’ve been waiting for about two weeks now to get any sort of service from Viking. I must manually defrost a several thousand dollar machine every few months or the repair will cost $1100. Not happening. The refrigerator will only cool to 43 degrees Fahrenheit. I would replace it in less than 3 seconds but I paid to have it built in with cabinetry on the front which cost a ton. BUT there is almost no one to repair it. I am seriously thinking about trashing this one. Very disappointing. Since I bought it 12/31/2003 it has been repaired several times. I think I have spent enough repairing a BAD machine. Viking couldnt even get the cabinetry specs correct on the website. It has been a nightmare from day one. Model # DFBB363L Serial # G0000000582.

My brother bought a Viking range. His wife is a really great cook and they loved the range. We had a range that worked off one of those panels and it broke down so we had to replace it twice. We wanted to get something that was totally manual and looked sturdy. the Viking range looked like the real thing. And it was a special with the dishwasher. We needed one of those so it all kind of worked out together. The qualitys great and its a real pleasure. I like the grill on top and you can slide everything across. However, I would never go back to the Viking dealer, P.C. Richards, again. Their guys came and I made the mistake of letting them install the unit instead of calling the plumber. They wound up cutting the heat shield at the back of the stove and they had to replace it. It was two weeks of back and forth and it wasn’t fun. That aside, we talked to Viking Ranges and they gave us a list of dealers since we wanted to get their runners. Our kitchen countertop is Butcher Block and the stove is sitting in the middle of the Butcher Block. I like the same stainless steel edging that I could put on the Butcher Block that would be alongside the side of the stove, like an angle iron. It would be attached between the countertop and the stove.

We called Viking Ranges and they told us who to call. Then when we called the people out here in Los Angeles who are the authorized service reps, the rep thought it was normal. The second time we called was when the rep was really informative and checked with the service tech. She confirmed that it is normal to take that long for the oven to preheat. I went right to the stores. I wish someone would confirm that sounds too long. It seems like there would be way too many complaints to get away with that. We rarely use it but aside from the oven, the range also has a range top which is great.

And when we were having this horrendous noise, we ended up having to go back to the store two or three times before they would finally send somebody out. But I got just a regular sized cookie sheet and it almost scraped the walls of the oven because of the way they have the handles on the edges. I have to get rid of that now and get smaller ones.

I purchased a new home with a Viking VWH3648SS professional style residential range hood to accompany the Viking Range that was installed below. It is fitted with a 1200CFM in-line blower. The package cost close to $2500 new. We use our kitchen daily for a family of 4. At the 8 year point, the lighting control knob began to loosen. Eventually, we called an authorized Viking Service provider called, Mr. Appliance They sent out a repairman who worked on the hood and seemed to have repaired the problem. But within three or four weeks, the knob came loose again. We called and the head honcho from Mr. Appliance came to fix the problem. We thought that was the end. Fast forward 5 years later and the knob loosens again. Not wanting to spend another several hundred dollars, I decided to address the problem myself. As an degreed engineer, I am not one to avoid a technical challenge.I pulled the hood switch panel apart only to discover that the switch had been tie wrapped into place. Over the years, heat, vibration and usage caused the tie wrap to stretch. The proper way to have made the repair was to remove the switch face plate which is held in place by the fan, lights and heating lamp rocker switches (spring clips). This provides access to an underlying nut plate to which the control should have been mounted using a 1/2 inch nut. In the process of disassembly, I discovered that the control thread, made of nylon or plastic, had been stripped which might explain why a tie wrap had been used. I ordered a new part for $58 and mounted it correctly, adding a lock nut to the assembly. But thats not the biggest problem. Upon disassembling the hood, I discovered inaccessible areas to be caked with grease so thick that it took a scraper to remove. This grease was checked separately as being flammable. The recess areas and sockets where hot halogen light and heat bulbs sit was particularly thick with burned grease. There were pools of liquid and solid grease in inaccessible areas of the hood that if ignited during a pan fire or electrical fire would provide fuel to burn the surrounding wood cabinets, the drywall and the exposed studs behind the hood covering. Mind you, these areas are not normally accessible for cleaning by a consumer. In my attempt to clean and repair this poorly constructed product, I was exposed to razor sharp sheet metal edges and burrs which had not been properly or safely machined during the manufacturing process. Particularly dangerous is the access holes surrounding the range hood lights where a consumer might attempt to clean only to be cut in the process. There are dozens of complaints in various internet review sites that complain about this issue in consumer accessible parts like the filter elements. Any machine shop professional will tell you that Viking Range has used improper technique in their manufacturing process which expose service people to the possibility of serious cuts.A call to Viking Range customer service resulted in the answer: We dont recommend that consumers access these areas and any tampering will void the warranty. Of course, the warranty is long expired. There didnt seem to be any concern (or understanding) by the Viking Range person of the dangerous design that Viking Range has released to the market.I have video taped my work and after I have a chance to edit the raw material, I will post the shocking videos and will be sending a copy to the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) for recall consideration. This range hood is a fire danger and a health hazard that should be addressed with the thousands of customers who unknowingly have installed this product.I would love to see responses from authorized (or freelance) service personnel with opinions on these issues. By the way, the Viking Range VGRC365-6BD commercial grade open burner gas range that accompanies this hood is just as poorly constructed with dangerous sharp edges. It is a nightmare to clean. Never again a Viking Range product.

We happened to get a very good deal on the Viking range that we saw. The quality is good. But we had a problem with the thermostat. It wasnt keeping temperature. So we had to have it replaced recently and well see if that will resolve the problem. Other than that, we had a very good experience with the team at the Viking dealer. I bought a Viking range, dishwasher, and refrigerator at the same time. I heard it was a pretty good brand and I liked their looks. Ive had them for six months and so far so good. We purchased from a Viking dealer and the refrigerator is competitive with others in the price range. They came within five days after I ordered. It was a pretty good delivery and they didn’t do any damage when they came to the house. However, its hard to set up a service with them. They need better customer service availability, like on weekends. We’re happy with the overall quality, however, its easily scratched and stained with oily fingerprints. I think that goes for all stainless appliances though.

Viking 36 inch refrigerator, as well as dishwasher, and range were installed in my new high-end condo over 4 years ago. Unit was very noisy. Viking told me that was normal for this unit. Had Viking authorized service tech out today to repair my 2 other Viking appliances (thats 3 out of 3 defective), and was told that refrigerator defective also. Despite reporting problem when unit was new, Viking refuses to offer repair under warranty. Customer service agent and supervisor both declined help and said I had no other recourse. Defective product, poor advice from corporate support initially, no ownership of problem from company despite Viking presenting itself as high-end company with quality products and service. Quality is lousy. Customer service and relations are lousy. Value is horrible.

My Viking lettering on the face plate to set the knobs and buttons to has been wiped off and now we do not know what temps we have set at or any of the other functions such as self-cleaning. We used standard Windex to regularly clean the oven face and eventually the lettering just dissolved. We had Viking replace the plate at no cost and with great hassle through Friedmans appliances and the second time we requested another plate they just blew us off. They would not even order it through Viking because they said it was discontinued. I will Never buy another Viking appliance as long as I live - I am a chef and cook at least 5 times a week. But when the range came in, the small oven was not working that well and then it broke. When we bought the house, we requested for Viking appliances. We wanted to get the big 42-inch refrigerator but our realtor failed to tell us at the last minute that they ordered a 36-inch model instead. But even though its not the model I liked, I love its quality. The aesthetics, as far as the door hinges, doesn’t get in my way. It was well-thought out and well-engineered. I also like the option that the temperature is different in certain compartments. However, I dont like the freezer part. As far as the stovetop, we had a choice in that. We got the eight-burner stove and it is phenomenal. It also has a conventional oven built in. All in all, I like Vikings appliances because I can buy a certain model and it has options that come along with it.

Ive had Viking products before and I heard about the Viking refrigerator from friends and people whove had Viking appliances. My son-in-law works for a company thats owned by Viking, so I got the friends-and-family deal, and it was a great deal. I like the French doors. In fact, this is the only slide-in refrigerator that Viking makes, and it was perfect for my kitchen thats relatively small. I just couldnt justify going up to a commercial grade refrigerator with a small kitchen. I also love the components of the freezer units. There are different areas where I can freeze things. Its very compact and efficient.I had a few questions regarding the refrigerator and the rep pointed out how to do the adjustments. I had called the Viking headquarters in Tennessee and asked for a hard copy version of the manual, even though its available online, but I never received it. Thats an oversight on their part, but I should just go ahead and print out the manual off of the internet. But other than that, Im very happy with the refrigerator. Its great. Its perfect for my needs and its a good-looking refrigerator, too.

I like the reputation of Viking. I purchased a refrigerator-freezer from them but then it came without the leveling package at the bottom. Furthermore, it doesnt make ice and it makes a weird “boing” noise when I open the freezer door. Also, the door on the freezer got scratched when the men came to put my cabinets in. That’s being replaced under the 90-day cosmetic warranty. But in the meantime, I asked them to put the grill on the front of the refrigerator down at the bottom. However, the guy who was installing the cabinet said that he couldnt because my leveling package isnt there. Their techs are coming out to put it in, and that’s gonna be quite an ordeal ‘cause it’s gonna take three men to stand it on its side and put it the leveling package. Also, Im not happy with this issue because I’m gonna have to sign a waiver telling them I won’t sue them if my floor gets damaged.Furthermore, the people who are dealing with the warranty issue regarding the door and the leveling package kept asking me who delivered my refrigerator. So, the people who delivered it to me knew that the leveling package wasnt there and didnt say a word to me. I wouldnt have known had I not had cabinets built around the refrigerator. Nevertheless, the refrigerator-freezer works very well, except with not making ice.

In the later part of September 2016 we purchased a Viking Range model # VGIC 53014bss with high expectations only to find problem after problem with this range, as a matter of fact its a laundry list of problems and too many to mention. I could write a book in less time, its just not believable!!! My theory is and its verifiable that some of the more important components (parts) they install are sourced from China, Mexico etc. They are not manufactured in the U.S. or Europe and this is where the PROBLEM lies. This might not be politically correct but its a matter of fact, if you use inferior parts you should expect problems, and the words (made in the U.S.) becomes ambiguous, it should state assembled in the U.S. Its like buying a Cadillac only to find it has a Japanese motor. Buy cheap you get cheapNow onto the Viking customer care reps, these poor people are subjected to more abuse from disgruntled customers and their complaints, its as if they were part of the manufacturing process, I personally have had only good if not excellent experience with them! They can only do so much and have no options other than to say theyre sorry when problems arise, the executives are solely to blame (Accountability). It seems they must be distant from the overall process i.e. quality control, part supply, etc, etc, in actuality they should be embarrassed. Why should any Viking customer have to wait weeks or even months for service due to a lack of part availability? This also reflects on the service people and their small companys service job becomes protracted and customers like myself get disgusted.Ive recently dissuaded two of my friends from making a Viking Range purchase and not for any reason other than reliability, I am not going to be embarrassed. I just say dont judge book by its cover (oh but its beautiful). I agree but it does NOT live up to its name, its so sad especially when you spend big $$$s and thats for low end of the Viking range line. In summary and again I will not recommend Viking, hence to be forewarned is to be forearmed!!!

We purchased a 36 Viking Range model #VDSC5366BSS with 6 sealed burners, sealed broiler, sealed heating element and have had three significant issues. I saw the Viking refrigerator in the store and I liked the way it looked. I liked the way the handles were. It pretty much had straight lines. Although there was an issue with the trim kit that we got, I cannot brag enough about Viking. When I called to report that problem, they put me in touch with the right person right from the very beginning. I took pictures of it and sent it to them then they looked at it and got right back to me. They said, “Guess what? You found something we didn’t know about. We actually have a problem with the manufacturing and so we’ll get it corrected. He said they would get another one sent right out to me and he did. In March 2016, I spent 17,000 on a Viking professional oven and refrigerator. The oven broke TWICE within the first 6 months. Last week... just over 1.5 years after purchase... the refrigerator went out. Seriously?! I thought I was spending a large amount of money for a better than average product. The Kenmore refrigerator in my garage lasted 10 years, and my Sub-Zero lasted 20! When I called customer service, it took 2 days for them to tell me they would be out in 8 more days! No. They final acquiesced and agreed to come earlier... but they tried to make me wait more than a week. I threw away several hundred dollars worth of food and, evidently, several thousand dollars on sub-standard, overpriced professional appliances. I would steer anyone away from Viking!!! When our builder gave us two options, whether the lower grade or the higher grade, I went with the higher grade which was Viking. I have already known that Viking Refrigerators were better and I like them. I like how easily I can move the shelf and I like the partial shelf a lot which drops under so I can put more tall things on the inside shelf. But one thing I don’t like about the Viking Refrigerator is the icemaker. The refrigerator is a three-door and I love the way the bottom freezer opens but every time I do the ice, it knocks an ice cube underneath. It’s crazy and I can’t get it to stop doing that. I’ve called it in but they told me that it is a standard problem. If I would have known that problem, I wouldn’t have bought it because it’s aggravating for me to chase around ice cubes under the refrigerator. They shouldn’t be there but it spits them out to the floor in front but if I pull the door out, they drop down behind the door. Also, the freezer part needs development because the top tray sticks and it’s hard to remove sometimes, and it’s brand new. I’ve seen the double drawer and I don’t know if I can have that in the freezer part at the bottom where the one big solid door with two racks inside is. They have a slim drawer on the outside and it’s the rest of the door, and even that would be a better model. Then, the first time I got my refrigeration filters, it took three months to get the filters replaced. It was some back order and I never knew the status of it. It was really aggravating and absolutely crazy how long it took to get the filter cartridge because it’s brand new. I really wanted them replaced for a while and it took at least two months come through. I didn’t even know that the order was still placed because I never got any feedback. So, there was really poor communication. I called Viking customer service and it was crazy. When I called the warranty department, the phone went automatically to their “We’re out for lunch.” I ended up calling a different department and said, “I’ve left messages on the line. I’m in the east coast. You can’t be out for lunch at 1 because it’s 8 AM.” They called me back and Desiree was lovely and was wondering why I was getting that message so I told her to try the number I called. There was another person who helped me, because the house was in North Carolina, and we’ve had an easy 10 hours in trying to contact Viking, which is beyond reasonable. I’m surprised they haven’t called to follow up on the status yet. Viking sent three different people to see if they would fix the machine. The first two wouldn’t even come for service because they don’t service Viking. Now, I fully expect the service for any repairs to be that awful. I should have shopped for a different model or looked for different ones because they’re a pain in the butt.

Besides finding out that their side-by-side refrigerator is the biggest disappointment in home appliances, I found out that their customer service is the same! I had some warranty repairs done by Vikings preferred service provider and during the work, they installed an upgrade kit for the refrigerator. Months went by and we would occasionally see water under the unit. Our warranty was up so we had a different service provider come over to estimate what was wrong, a service provider we found out later that Viking had put on their list of preferred repairers. The service person found that while the unit was under warranty and the upgrade was installed, the wiring was preformed incorrectly causing the refrigerator to leak water underneath, damaging the wood flooring in the house. I called Viking on the subject and they first told me that they would not cover the faulty workmanship so I complained that it was their provider that I had used. They gave me a case number and told me that they had 24 hours to research the case and they would call me back. They did not call back and the case was left unsolved. The Viking company does one thing very well, disappoint their customers! This is not the first time that I have had the experience of poor service from Viking. Buyer beware.

I purchased a Viking range in 2007 and paid almost $5,000 for the unit. In November 2011, the oven stopped working. Mr. Appliance of New York City was recommended by Viking as the authorized service representative. Between November 2011 and June 2012, I have had 8 visits by Mr. Appliance. They replaced a thermostat control (twice), replaced the circuit board and still havent found the problem. Amount paid by that point was $670. At the 8th visit, they said the reason my oven wouldnt work was a broken oven door latch, broken (they said) during the self-clean cycle. Additional expected cost, $460, except I have never once used the self-clean cycle. It was most likely broken by the repairmen in their attempts to find the source of my problem. In dealing with Viking Customer Service, they didnt even bother to be charming. The people I spoke with were defensive, unsympathetic and unpleasant. Maybe they have had too many fed up customers and are tired of all of us. They simply told me to try another authorized service dealer in my area. Frankly, this is outrageous. I had expected more of a company that charges $5,000 for its products. The quality of the unit is low. The customer service was poor and the authorized service dealer (Mr. Appliance) is even worse. I will never ever buy another Viking product again, of any kind, and under no circumstances could I recommend Mr. Appliance of New York City. They do not have even basic competence.

I was looking at the Viking refrigerator and it was fit for what I wanted it for. It was also better priced than most of the other commercial units, so I decided to purchase it. I have it in my home for a year in May now and its a good refrigerator. But I had problems with it and I had technicians out here at least four times to work on it.I had a tech out twice for the icemaker when it wasnt working. Something had burned out in there so they had to come and replace that. From what I could tell, these repairmen were not familiar with these products, so they were not too sure. They were constantly making phone calls asking someone else how to do things but most of all, it was like some of these things were failing inside of the refrigerator. I also had a problem with the water dispenser. The rubber over it was broken and Viking shipped one part out. Then the repairman was out for that but it still didn’t work properly. So now, I’ve been waiting for this thing to be fixed and it has been three months. Aside from that, the BlueZone bulb burned out when it should not be going out after only seven months. I didn’t even have the refrigerator for a year. So, I had to buy another bulb which was a hundred bucks. Then, the refrigerator kept beeping after I replaced the BlueZone bulb, so I had to call somebody to come out to turn off this annoying beep. It was weird. All in all, Viking hasnt fine-tuned some of the little things on their product and everything there needs to be looked at. Even the replacement parts werent fitting and I don’t understand it. It’s also a little disappointing. I haven’t even paid the thing off and I’ve had the service guy five times out. They need to care more about customer service, too. The refrigerator is under a three-year manufacturer’s warranty but they wouldn’t replace the bulb. First, they told me that they didn’t have the bulb. So, I got the bulb at no cost. Then I didn’t hear anything, so I followed up with them and they said that I had to go back to my dealer, buy the bulb from them, and let them come and install it. Not only that, when I called Viking, they didn’t have the bulb in stock and I had to wait four months for someone to get this stupid bulb in stock. But Viking sells an $11,000 refrigerator, so they gotta have the replacement parts.

I have had my Viking Range since last September and I have had technicians out here eight times and my 36 inch range is still leaking gas, they can’t figure it out, so if you want a range that works, don’t choose Viking! I spent $500 to have Thanksgiving delivered to my home, and Christmas wasn’t any better.... What holiday will I NOT be cooking for next. I’d like to say it looks good, but the front of it already has some rust spots/pitting marks right in front of the burners! I was trying to decide between Wolf or Viking; I work with high-end kitchens a lot in my business, clearly I chose badly. Don’t make the same mistake! And seriously never use Appliances Connection; they are awful, rude customer service and no follow-up, not a customer centric company!

I needed a particular oven size and Viking Range has them. I like the burners to their double oven. but were now on range number 4. Their corporate guy came out when we had a problem and he solved it. After we got through the the second one, we were good. We had good help at solving the problem. As a matter of fact, they cut the manufacturing down on them until they figure out whats wrong.

Viking stove should be recalled. Since the first use, we have been having the same problems all of the other people have been having with the stove. It should be recalled because it is a danger to use. Our oven gets so hot that it has melted the stove wires and control box. It has warped our oven door so it doesnt shut all the way, and the heat reflector (not sure if this is correct name) in the bottom of the oven is cracked and buckled. The oven gets so hot that if you touch the outside of it, you will get burned. The oven also fills up with gas and makes a popping sound or just blows the door right open! It scares me with my children if the oven is on. They can get burnt or hurt with the door blowing open. Also, because of the intense heat and the wires melting, the left side of the stove doesnt work.

We had a tricky experience with Viking and we are still hoping for help. The builder, whom we bought the home from, selected Viking appliances. It is a brand new beautiful home but our refrigerator just freezes all the food. It is not consistently cooling in a way that a high-quality refrigerator should. It is brand new so we are miserable and it has been a terrible experience. The refrigerator is vital because we had to throw out groceries through the holidays. We’ve lost food and have lost much money. On the other hand, the range is fine but it’s not something I can really grieve about. The Viking dealer gave us a number for a local person to come look at it. The first person never called us back so we called Viking back. They assigned a second person and the second person came out and told us that they do not know what was wrong. He also told us that Viking told them that they should counsel customers to keep all the things to the front of the refrigerator. It was ridiculous. It was so bad and negative and we were really frustrated because we did not even know. We are not difficult customers on any level and so we’re so sad because this is the first time we bought a brand new home with new appliances and we have not been able to get a resolution. I have been calling Viking probably under 10 times and I’ve called the local repair people a few times as well but nobody came up with a solution. Viking told us to listen to whatever the repair people say. Also, to wait and do it and see what happens. No one really seems to care. We got a lemon and Viking isn’t owning up to it yet. We’re just sitting, waiting, and throwing away food that it’s horrible.

I would not recommend buying this refrigerator. After spending $4,000.00 on this refrigerator, we have waited 4 days for customer service to assist with warranty and have now had to contact an outside agency. After 2 hours of attempting repair and figuring codes we still have a non working Viking refrigerator. I have never had an issue with a cooling fan (per code) and have paid less than half of this money for other refrigerators. Appliance repair state this refrigerator is made by too many different companies and is very difficult to fix. I hope Viking stands behind its product and fixes this refrigerator or sends us a new one.

Second failing of self cleaning feature on a dual gas/electric Viking Range
Second failing of self cleaning feature on a dual gas/electric Viking Range that I bought specifically so that I could have gas plus electric self cleaning. The range is 11 years old and Ive infrequently used the self cleaning, perhaps 7 times at the most. First repair in 2009 cost $700 and now it is broken again. At this rate, self cleaning is costing $100+ per use. When I complained the first time about the outrageous repair cost to Viking, they figuratively shrugged their shoulders. I have another complaint in again. I would not recommend this range in particular and I would be hesitant to buy any Viking appliance without careful review.

We purchased a Viking 36 electric oven/gas cooktop at great expense 28 months ago. Since that time, we have two major problems with the failure of the main circuit board. Replacement costs approx. $450-$500 each time. We have been very disappointed with the product and also disappointed with the customer care of the company. I would not recommend the purchase of any Viking product and Im certainly going to tell anyone else considering buying a so-called premium product. Im quite surprised that the company is still in business.

Weve heard about Viking Ranges for years and wed been wanting one all these years, so we finally got one because we got gas hooked up. I grew up with gas, and when we moved to Florida, Florida had mostly just electricity or electric ranges. My husbands from Mississippi, so we had to look at Mississippi in getting a Viking and we love it. Its the first time hes cooked on a gas stove, and its so much better. It cooks so much nicer and the food tastes better. Everybody from Viking was great. The gas that we put in had been delayed and they kept the stove there, and then they brought it as soon as we needed it.

Ive used Viking for a couple of decades in my home. Vikings range has an 18,000 BTU burner on one side and the other ones are 15,000, whereas the main competitor, Wolf, has 15,000, 15,000, 9,000 and 5,000. However, I don’t like the new design. It used to be a more commercial-looking cookware and it has become more blingy now than it used to be. It also got shiny rings on it that I didn’t know I was gonna get. The quality is fine, though. I like the new slide-out drawers and that the light turns on when the door opens. The little lights that illuminate the numbers on the dials are nice. We have a Viking stove in our city home and we bought another one for our weekend home, and the new one doesn’t simmer as low as the old one.Vikings dealer just does the minimum. I ask a question and they give me one answer. They don’t try to be accommodating. Instead, they need to do value because they were the only one that would service the warranty in the area. Also, we had no choice but to buy the range from them. I ordered an eight-inch skirt on top of the back of the stove, but it didn’t arrive, so they had to come and install it and they had to come back again. They were not very flexible when they could come back. There was also a microwave that was a gift and I chose an install kit as a promotion gift, but they didn’t order the install kit even though I put in the form clearly. There were many steps to get the simplest order through.Being an old Viking customer, its really tricky to get things repaired and the parts are extremely expensive. When I talked to a couple of dealers, they were pointing the client towards Wolf because they feel that Viking’s quality has dropped and that the repair is very expensive. In the end, I bought Viking because I wanted the 18,000 versus the 15,000-burner, and that’s what pushed me back towards going with Viking. We have a friend in the city that just renovated their apartment and they bought a Wolf. We asked them why they bought a Wolf and they said that the dealers told them that Viking has gone down and it is not what they used to be. We had an issue with the old one being that all the colors wear off after a while. All the markings rubbed off and the repair is lengthy and expensive. But other than that, it works fine.

Our home is new construction and not our permanent home. We plan to live in the house 50% of the time. We moved in October 20, 2020. We purchased all Viking kitchen appliances and mind you this is our first Viking purchase and will be our last. After the first use of the stove top, it started rusting. The front panel and the back vent panel. No chemicals were used to clean. All I used was dawn detergent, water and a microfiber cloth. After contacting Viking we were told that we have a 90 day cosmetic warranty so they are willing to replace the parts that are rusting. Huh??? The oven had not been used or the oven door had not been wiped down. The microwave or dishwasher had not been used either at this point. So Viking was to just replace the parts that are rusting and Im to hold my breath that nothing else rusts in the 90 days or it will not be covered. Am I the only one who thinks this is unacceptable?I told Viking that stainless steel should not rust and so quickly. After submitting a request to Viking for a replacement range, management declined my request. I bet if “management” paid $7000 for a range and it rusted the first time they cooked, they would not find this acceptable. I will never buy Viking again and their customer service stinks. I’ve had to call Viking every time because they do not call back or follow up.

I liked Vikings looks and reputation. However, we already had the refrigerator serviced. There were issues with the door. We bought it through Best Buy and they were difficult to deal with. They put the fridge in a flush mount and the one that we got is not a flush mount. So, its just not installed correctly. Also, we had a lot of issues with Best Buy. Just having them set up delivery, their delivery people coming out, not telling us to do certain things that we needed to do before installation. And it went with everything that we had, with the stove and the dishwasher. The only thing that went okay was the microwave. I love my stove. But I had two things serviced already.

I purchased my Viking refrigerator along with my Viking stove and dishwasher with my new townhome in 2003. I had to have service within the first year for my Viking refrigerator and then again. I guess the freezer had shut down and water had been on the bottom of the freezer, then froze and had to try and scrap it off. I called the repair and he supposedly fixed it, but then it became rusted. I had other problems which I won’t get into. The list goes on, but now for the last year (8th year) there is a cooling problem and the alarm goes off constantly. Had the repair guy out here and so he said what I may need, which will now cost me $1000 but he is not sure that will fix the problem. My neighbor has put thousands dollars into theirs and now it is not even repairable.Of course I have called Viking several times and they do nothing for me. My repair man came out again and told me what they were offering 1/2 off a new Viking, but who can afford another $3600 plus tax when the first one was expensive enough? I don’t seem to have a choice because I don’t know if I can fit anything else in my built in and match, etc. Something should be done about Viking. Pay up. That’s all I have to say. I need a new refrigerator and they should pay for it. Let’s do something. They are getting away with it!

The people at the Viking dealer were friendly and there were issues that they took care of. Altogether, they were good and shipping was great. They sent the refrigerator out quickly. I’m having a little problem with it at the moment though. The temperature is not setting the right way for some reason. It’s not matching what it says on the display. While I like the simplicity of it since I have too many gadgets, I would like to see a feature to dim the lights because they are too bright on the refrigerator. But I like the new shelving system which we did in heavy glass and also the drawers that are metal. Those are good features. I like them much better because they broke on my old refrigerators. We were promised the delivery date of our Viking Range was some time at the end of June of last year. But we kept getting pushed off. We were told it would be two more weeks. It just kept going and going. Finally, we got ahold of somebody high up in Pirch who said that we might not have it until the middle of this year. We started calling around. I decided that if I couldnt have a Viking, it was okay because I just wanted an oven. I hadnt had one in almost a year. We finally found someplace in New York that had a model that we ended up purchasing. It got delivered in November of last year, five months after our original date was promised and it was dented. We got ahold of somebody. They told us that they would get a new part out to us. But we still havent gotten a new part out. Im super disappointed. It was also broken when it was delivered and it took five weeks to get it fixed. But I love cooking on it. Its amazing. I was in real estate for some time. I’m into remodeling and I love interior design, so I’m aware of Viking Refrigeration. We just redid our entire kitchen and put all new Viking appliances, everything from oven to a huge cooktop to the refrigerator, downdraft, the dishwasher, and I am not overly pleased with the refrigerator. I called Viking directly and they sent somebody out and repaired a couple of the things that were wrong with the refrigerator. But the main problem that I still have, which is something that I need to make another phone call on, is the ice maker. The refrigerator is a French door with an under mount freezer and when I pull open the freezer door, the little metal handle that comes down to regulate when the ice maker is on and off almost rakes the ice. And so, it all falls out through the back of the freezer. I have to literally army crawl and break my arm to get my hands at the back to clear out the ice that’s fallen at the back on the floor of the freezer or else the freezer door does not close properly. I wonder how many tens of thousands of dollars did I spend on all those appliances. I should have gone back to my GE Profile. I’ve been really disappointed.

The quality is excellent and this is probably the best refrigerator weve ever owned. Its so easy to navigate in there. You can see and reach everything. But the ice maker could be improved. The bin that the ice goes into should be raised in the back so that the ice falls to the front. When questioning the repairmen (I have tried 2 different service companies) they all stated that they were unable to get anyone to answer any questions, had no tech support, and were very hard to work with. I love my appliances, however going without a dishwasher for over 1 month, after 3 service calls and still the part is not on its way. And of course the warranty is out! The quality of the Viking refrigerator is good and the performance is great. However, the functioning of the doors is not good which might have been due to the installation. The center tab of the door doesn’t match correctly. It slams into the other door. The clearance there is just off sixteenths of an inch. Any weight that you put on the door would make that clearance such that that tab will pop out again then you end up closing the door and slamming the other door so you can close it. I called different people who are Viking certified to look at it three times but they couldnt fix it. I dont know if this door issue is a manufacturing issue or an installation issue. I have another cheap refrigerator for 600 bucks and that works a lot better when it comes to doors and functionality.

I sent in a big complaint to Viking and I’m getting very poor service. I spent $25,000 on a new suite of Viking and had it installed by a professional and several things went wrong. The first thing, I had a 700 series range top and the Downdraft. When we got them, there was a gap between the back of the Downdraft and the back of the range top so I called my retailer Appliance Works and they were excellent in everything we did. I said, “Isn’t there a trim or something like that?” He goes, ”Well, let me call my district sales manager.” He did that and then he said, “Oh, yeah. You need a trim piece.” So we got an installer here which I paid money for. I had to wait a week and a half and I had to pay for it to have that trim sent to me. We got the back trim and the installer started to install it. Then it stuck out an inch longer than the sides of the range top. I said, “This doesn’t look right.” So I called them back and he called back the district sales manager and the district sales manager said, “Oh, yeah. There’s side trim that goes with that. I had the installer come back again so I paid more money for an installer every time the man showed up. Then I got the side trim and he fixed it. We had to cut it off because of the of the configuration. Ive incurred another $300 to bring the installers back to do the trimming. It was not an easy task to install these range tops and all of these, especially the Downdraft, and the instructions were very vague. We’ve finished a brand-new renovation so then we hooked up the dishwasher and it didn’t work. There was an “error code 02” flashing. Nowhere in any of the brochures or online does it say what the hell error code 02 means. E02. The system was giving me a code of something wrong and there was no way to determine what that error was. So I called my retail manager back again and they said, “Oh yeah. E02 means there’s a lack of water supply. I said, “Lack of water supply? That doesn’t make sense.” I had to call the installer back again and it had been twice because they were trying to figure out what was going on and they weren’t sure what it would look like. It was starting to work then it would shut off and the error code was last. He took the front panel off and the darn hose that drives the water to the washer that was installed by the manufacturer was bent. It’s a reinforced hose with metal in it and the purpose of the metal is so that it doesn’t bend easily. However, when it does bend, then it’s a permanent kink and it restricts the water to flow. What had happened was the hose was too long and somebody forced it into the receptacle that you have to hook to when you install the water. The hose was bent therefore there was a lack of water supply. We had to cut that off, installed it, and the dishwasher works fine now. Then, I got a service call in on another issue. When I was checking the washer out, a lot of times I’d press the P and nothing would happen and the codes wouldn’t work. It wouldn’t come up and give me an option whether I wanted it on quick wash or extra duty wash or cleaning. So I called the customer service and said all of these to the Viking customer service. Another issue was that he referred it to the people here in Salisbury as a service center. I don’t want to work with these people because I gave them the option of buying Viking through them. They were charging me $3,000 more and charging me for every nut and bolt they thought they would need to install it so I went elsewhere. So I called back my retailer and he said he’ll put another service order and I have yet to hear about that warranty schedule being done. Third issue, I went to register these stuff and everything worked fine. But I tried to register the dishwasher and it said, “Well, you can’t register. Your numbers are invalid.” So I called Viking and the lady was nice and she went, “Oh, you have to add a 1 to your model number in order to register.” I said, “Really. That’s nice to know. Can you do that for me?” She said, “Yes. But if I register it, you can’t see it on your account.” The whole purpose of registering this stuff is that if you have warranty work, people can go look and see what’s going on, that it’s a bona fide, the date of sale, and all that other stuff. But if you register it over the phone, then it’s not on my account and unless you ask for it specifically through customer service, you can’t verify that this system was purchased through Viking on a certain date. I went back and registered with adding the 1 so there’s a glitch in the IT system there. Then I tried to register my Downdraft and I can’t do it even though it’s covered on their site. I called back Viking service and they said, “That’s right. We can register the Downdraft on the system. You can’t. But we can register it for you.” And I said, “Yeah. Let me ask you this. If you register it for me, I’ll bet you I can’t see it on my account. Is that correct?” They replied, “Yup. That’s right.” I sent all of these to Viking customer service and sent a long letter that went over each of those things and all the details. After three weeks, I had heard nothing. Two days after I had sent the initial e-mail, I sent a note back to customer service, “Can you at least acknowledge receipt of my e-mail about these problems?” They replied, “Yup. We got it. Upper-level management is looking at it and will get back to you.” After about two and a half weeks, I called back and the first lady I talked to said, “I’ll look into it and I’ll call you back.” She never called me back after two days so I called again and I got a hold of a young man who was very helpful to a point. Within that day, he provided information back and said it’s been passed to the district sales manager for action. I said, “Well, I didn’t ask for reimbursement but I did tell you that I had spent over $500 in additional charges to have this stuff installed and fixed. Because of these issues, I’m still waiting for warranty work and not to mention your other problems with IT, so I’d really like a response from you all.” The only response that I’ve received to date is that they’ve passed the information on to the district sales manager who has had this action for three weeks and I haven’t heard a thing from her. The retailer which is up in Easton, Maryland, said they have continual problems with this district sales manager. She never returns the calls. She’s had the action when the second trim kit was ordered back to the stove again. He passed her the action and said, “Look. You need to do something with this customer.” I had never heard anything from her about reimbursing me for the money Ive already spent to pay for the trim kit or doing something to acknowledge the fact that I had had serious problems with this $25,000 set and I haven’t even used it yet. I don’t know what the status is but this district sales manager is not helping Viking image whatsoever.

We just moved, and we thought of buying a nice set of appliances when we remodeled our home. We bought an all-in-one fridge, a dishwasher, and a stove top range oven and hood from Viking. We also bought a Viking refrigerator back in 2012, and we didn’t have a good experience with that one. They had the drain set up, and we had issues with that the whole time we had it. They told us that it was just the way it was made. So, when we went with Viking again, they told us that their refrigerators are designed differently now, so we shouldn’t run into the same issues that we had. So, we went with a larger version of the same fridge. We also got an oven range, but it has a little issue with the way it was set up. So, I had the general manager from Main call me, and it sounded like he knew what the issue was. He said that it was something in the way it got set up, and they should be able to fix it. So, they’re coming to fix that. However, trying to find someone to come help with it is hard because there’s no one to service it in this area. But other than that, I’m happy with Viking.
