We moved in a brand new building and a Viking range came with our place. Its brand new and it seems to be of good quality, but it seems to take a very long time to pre-heat the oven and were not sure if thats normal. Its certainly not the case in my older cooktop. Well call consumer department and see what they say. On the stove part, I have to make coffee and I set down a diffuser because the openings on this grate are too large to hold my little Bialetti coffeemaker. It works much better than when I put it directly on the burner like I do at home, which is also a Viking, so we like that. We also have a refrigerator, a range, a dishwasher and a fan vent that are all Viking. I had some problem, called the dealer and they were not helpful at all.

I bought my first Viking Professional eight years ago for aesthetic purposes and alleged reliability. Unfortunately, the freezer section broke down five years into it and I subsequently had to pay $1,000 to get that fixed. Where I am now, all of the built-ins of the Viking Professional line were already installed when I got here and six months into using it, one of the the refrigerator sections broke down even though my freezer section was cooling. I had not registered my refrigerator, but the customer service center expedited the service and the authorization code to the local service center so that we could address it quickly. Luckily, the repair guy had the part on hand or I would have been sitting without a refrigerator for a week or two if he had to order it. But he told me that he has seen this before with all the built-ins. The one that I have retails for $12,000 and if Im paying top of the line for the Viking Professional line, I expect some type of reliability. So Im a little disappointed. They probably didn’t engineer a certain piece correctly and in the manufacturing world, that may cause the piece to break down sooner rather than later or stop functioning the way it needs to.I have friends who use Sub-Zero, which has a price point thats a little higher, and I have other friends who have Wolf. When I benchmark my peers and what we have, mine’s average in terms of reliability. I don’t know their everyday details but I expect a little more reliability especially for the first five years of a product. Viking Professional is perceived as a high quality brand appliance and I think the salespeople and the dealer provide service to the best of their knowledge, but my personal experience has been such that I question the reliability of it. It hasnt met my expectations and unfortunately, I cant return it either.

I bought a Viking dishwater 11 months ago. During this time, I had to call their repair representative 5 times. I was very dissatisfied with this as I had paid more than twice an average dishwasher and expected better quality and not worse. I have been using dishwashers for more than 30 years and never had any problems before this one. Last week, the washer broke down again and the repair guy said that an olive pit had gone past the filter and into the drain, and he claimed that this was my fault and the warranty would not cover this situation! Now, I always wipe plates and try to get everything off but it is possible thata pit might be stuck to the bottom of a plate or glass and isnt the filter suppose to get that? I consider the design of the filter to be faulty and called Viking but they would not accept paying for the repair. I will never buy Viking again and will relay my experience to everyone I know and recommend them to stay away from Viking products which are highly priced, have poor reliability, and bad customer service.

I bought a 48 range, dishwasher, ice maker, refrigerator, beverage cooler and warming drawer from Viking 5 years ago. Everything but the warming drawer has stopped working and had to be repaired, several such as the dishwasher numerous times. I am convinced these products are the most poorly engineered and manufactured kitchen appliances on the market today! And very expensive to boot! My suggestion for anyone looking to buy new appliances for their home... STAY AWAY FROM VIKING!

The quality is good. I like the simmer quality. However, Im having difficulty cleaning the top of the range because it says that youre only supposed to use soap and water, but that doesnt clean it. I went to Trail Appliances - one on King George, in Surrey, and the new one in Cloverdale. I went to two branches to try to ask them about accessories for the Viking because I wanted to get a grill cover, and I also wanted to ask them about how to clean and the maintenance, but they werent very helpful. I have the six plates and the grill. Its a 5 Series. I would like a better engineering of that particular product. They should have made at least one of the plates a small one, because its six large plates.

Viking Range was fined for ranges that turn on by themselves (article dated 4/17/17) for 15 models sold between 2007 & 2014. We have a Viking Range that was purchased in 2017 when our home was under construction. 11/9/19 the oven ignited by itself in the middle of the night; our fire alarm went off & woke us. The house was filled with smoke; we have to flip the circuit breaker to turn the oven off. It was super-heated & left marks on our brick backsplash. It also melted the igniter & safety features of the oven, as well as the mechanisms for the sliding racks. Clearly, Viking has not remedied the faulty part issues that caused this.I called them & their blanket answer is thats not one of the recall ranges, albeit the exact circumstances around the previous problem were evident. The specialist that serviced the oven said it looked exactly like the previous problems, although the part in the oven read as the updated version. The customer service rep stated to send her the service notes & shed forward to management, but didnt think repair would be covered (for new racks and the melted parts due to their faulty parts = $1,600) because the range was not under recall. For $14,000, youd expect better response, customer service, and quality out of a product.

I have a 60 professional quality Viking freestanding oven & range. Its never worked correctly - the oven fails with one or two uses, and this started within 24 months of original installation. Ive spent over $1,500 on repairs (Viking said it wasnt under warranty, though the warranty clearly states THREE YEARS) and it still doesnt work. The Viking authorized repairman told us this week Viking is not willing to take responsibility for their product and theyve suggested you have the oven wiring replaced at your cost....I am so frustrated with Vikings treatment of our customers that Im considering not working for them any longer. This is what I get for $9,000?

Our refrigerator is very convenient, large, and has good quality. The only thing I dont like about it is that adjusting the temperature, which is two little controls up on the top, is not very clear and it doesnt read out the exact temperature, just has these little bars. So, it takes a lot of time to figure out how to use it, how to set it, and get it to the right temperatures. At the very bottom, it freezes up and the water gets into the drain in the back on the bottom and we once had to thaw it out ourselves. Another time, we had to call a repair person cause there was no way for us to do it. If only they have as many other refrigerators have where you set the temperature and it shows you what its set for and what its actually reading, and I would make sure that they have improved the heating unit that would prevent the drain in the freezer from freezing.

Purchased one three years ago and are currently on our 7th repair visit. Reached out to customer support and there is none. Our latest issue was with the heat pump. Just melted the wires. Checked and they had a recall but it started with models later than ours. This is truly a safety hazard. Not to mention we paid twice what you would normally pay for a dishwasher based on the name and reputation of Viking appliances. We totally regret that decision. No product support, no customer support, how embarrassing.

I like the qualities that the Viking Range has as well as the look. I chose it since I wanted more of an industrial look in my kitchen and a product that was mostly made in America. But I had a little disappointment. When the range was installed, it wasnt installed appropriately. I think it was set to propane when my home is on natural gas. Beyond that, I had to have four service calls because the oven was not working properly. It would come to temperature and then it would just shut off. I questioned my judgment in choosing to pay a premium for that appliance and then I have to do so many service calls to figure out whats wrong with it. The servicemen checked the stove then talked to Viking. They decided it required a specific solution and put that solution in place. They went away and then the next time I used the oven, it was clear that it hadnt been fixed. They went through a process of elimination to figure out what the problem was but it took some time. The good news is that the range works beautifully now and I am pleased with it.

I’m from Mississippi and Viking is a local company. I chose it ‘cause I could get the full suite in the same brand, the fridge, range, dishwasher, and door microwave. The appliances are well-built and the appearance is good. The fridge, dishwasher and microwave have been okay, but I’ve had a few issues with the stove. There’s something on it thats supposed to be wiped off when installed and that wasn’t done, so the front of the stove rusted between the opening of the oven and the top of the range where the control knobs are at. Also, the igniter gave a little issue one time and my oven quit in the middle of cooking a strawberry cake.I was without an oven for over a week before they came to fix it and my other complaint is the response time on getting the warranty repairs completed, but some of that is not in Viking’s control. It’s the repair facility picking it up. The appliance repair company came and cleaned the thermal cut on the system. If it quits again, the igniter would need to be replaced. There were a few minor issues, but I’m pleased and satisfied overall.

I’ve had two other Viking kitchens and I like the quality and the look of the product. The cost is a little bit high. But I like having the broiler in the oven. It’s high temp so it’s easy to cook indoors when you can’t go outside to grill. The appliance dealer was very difficult to deal with. They provided no information as to the status where my stuff was. So I actually had to get Kevin Brown, the CEO of Viking involved. Everything’s here now but if I had I not gotten Kevin involved this could’ve gone on forever. The customer service of Viking and the inside sales manager did a fabulous job at pulling us out of the ditch. Viking itself handled themselves very well. My husband enjoys cooking. We were looking at other ranges all around the same price and we found Viking. It was on sale at the store and we were saving a couple of thousand bucks. So far, it seems it has a good quality. I like the blue light that lights up the knobs. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to see what I’m doing. I also like the way the racks inside the oven slide nicely. The sales rep was friendly. But after the purchase was made my husband had a few questions, and they weren’t so quick to talk to him or call him back like they were before the purchase. Also, I find it odd that it doesn’t have a self-cleaning oven. When I turn the burners on they don’t always ignite and burn evenly the way I would expect them to. I do the baking and seeing that it’s Christmas, I’ve been making cookies that I can only bake in the middle rack. It’s funny because in all the advertisements they show a door opens full of all kinds of goodies on all three levels, and I can’t cook that way. I have the middle rack and that’s it. Anything on top or bottom burns. And they’re not removable racks, except for the middle one. The top and the bottom are on roller slide, that’s why they move so easily. I can’t just pull it out and move it up or down.

And now, the new ones that are just a year and a half old are having issues too so the quality is not that great. There is ice buildup in the freezer and mold in the gasket. When we remodeled our kitchen we purchased all Viking appliances -- BIG MISTAKE! From day one the refrigerator leaked water out the freezer. Soon thereafter the seal had to be replaced. The motor failed and we lost hundreds of dollars of food. And the open door alarm went berserk and kept beeping even with the door shut for 6 days straight (day and night) until the repair guy finally came to turn it off. The oven has been through 3 electronic boxes and the burner lighters go bad every few months. As for the dishwasher... we have had the motor replaced once, the pump replaced twice. The water fill thingy (not sure what its called) replaced twice and three leaks from the bottom fixed. Do yourself a big favor and do not purchase Viking products unless you are having an affair with a Viking Appliance repair man, lol!

We bought the freezer and refrigerator from Viking 12 years ago. The freezer is still doing great but the refrigerator went out. It would freeze up, and one of the default wires were loose. We hooked it up and then it had another problem. When I called in with problems, they were good about helping to get somebody to look at it. I had two different Viking certified people come out to work on it and they took it quickly apart, defrost it totally and then put it back together and say my drip pan wasnt lined up properly. Both times someone came it cost me $800 each and the second time I decided to just replace it because itll be cheaper in the long run. When I got the new one, the door seal on it would not seal. We travel a lot and we come back home and see that there would be rust inside our brand-new refrigerator. It took three times to get somebody to figure out the problem and fix it and had it slamming shut. Were loving it now. It’s great. The new lighting is so bright and pretty and I really like it. The fridge isnt pretty when you open it up and you see this $9,000 refrigerator with rust inside it, but its still a good deal.

I have had my Viking Range for three weeks. My son has one and he knew I needed a new range. He researched on the internet and he found it. I cooked on his stove quite a bit, so I liked it especially its sturdiness as well as its grills. The grates are really heavy duty. The only downside is that the burners don’t go down far enough to low heat. Other than that, it’s working very well. The dealer was excellent and he was efficient. Weve had several visits already for the fridge that we bought from Viking even though its still under warranty. Right after it was installed, the ice and water features were not working. They came out a couple of times for that and eventually they figured it out and fixed it. Then more recently, the unit completely died and it turned out to be the board for the inverter was bad. But the thing thats maddening is how long it took for them to come and fix it. The parts were in stock but it took three days to have the order put in and then these cant be shipped fast. We were without a fridge for two weeks. That to me is a poor customer service. Luckily we had a spare fridge in the garage that we kind of lived out of for two weeks. If somebodys fridge breaks, they should ship that thing via FedEx. They should come, fix it and not screw around. Then just this week, the ice thing was not working. I figured it out when somebody in the house that looks at appliances noticed that where the water is coming out to make the ice is completely frozen. I would think twice buying another Viking.

I have owned Viking appliances before like the stovetop and the double oven in my previous home and now in a different home, my Viking refrigerator is doing great. It keeps everything cold and the frozen food frozen and makes ice. Weve been well pleased. I had an excellent experience with the Viking dealer, too. I do real estate development work and have used the company Ferguson for a lot of things and they do an excellent job. Their guy is very knowledgeable. He can answer all the questions and was very helpful to make sure that we were fully informed on what we need to be informed on. It was good price and he handled everything perfectly. I like that the burner of the Viking range is bigger than the other ones so I bought it. But I dont like the range. There is too much problem with the oven. Within six months, the oven is not working properly and there is a problem with the cleaning. The large shaft doesnt come out. So you have to maintain the range. Stephen and I purchased a Viking kitchen package and the 5 year warranty in October 2010. We spent over $16,000.00 on your kitchen package. When the Viking range arrived we were extremely disappointed to discover the range rear panel exhaust fan was broke. Since then we have had repeated calls to the repair company for the same problem never to be resolved. The oven shuts off in the middle of cooking when at 425 degrees. The range will not go on until it cools down after 30-45 minutes. After the oven is turned off it makes a terrible loud noise. Our warranty has ran out and I will not pay out of pocket for repairs. That have been occurring since day one. I want my oven repaired as soon as possible. If no repair can be done then I would like a new range that works! This was November 2015, still have not received the fan. Range is still not working. Called repair center over and over they have not received the part and Viking does not answer the phone or call back after leaving messages. Viking has never back these products or been concern with our problems. We had many issues and repairs. Range is not used daily, should not have all these issues. Advise anyone looking at their products should take the time to educate their self on Viking issues. Sales man talk us out of Wolf and subzero. I should of stay with my first choice. Were from Mississippi, and supporting a local company seems like a good thing to do. We bought our Viking range from Southern Pipe and the sales team seemed to really know their stuff. My wife had a ton of questions for them and weve had good answers. They seemed to have dealt with those questions before or the saleslady might even own one, so she was able to speak about personal experiences too. We like all the features that came with the range and it has been really good. We havent had a gas stove before, so the fact that everything heats up really quickly is awesome to us. Plus it looks really good in our kitchen. We bought it back in the fall, but only got it installed in February, so were still sort of in a trial period of using it. It still feels pretty new, but everything weve thrown at it so far, its done exceptionally. Its the best stove Ive ever owned.

I purchased the VGCC5304BSS Professional Range and had it professionally installed. We immediately noticed a very strong gas smell. Viking sent their service person out (who complained to me about having to drive so far). The oven was not lighting because the spark plug was not positioned properly. It still has gas smell and the knobs get hot when the oven is in use. Viking sent another service person who adjusted the burners and grounded the oven igniter, still there’s the gas smell. We had the gas company out numerous times to check for leaks. They have said the problem was with the regulator inside the range. I contacted Dale Person, VP for Business Development and his office assigned Bonnie ** as our contact. Bonnie does not answer her phone, does not return calls, and does not care one bit that my house gets filled with propane gas. Since their service company, Distinctive Appliances, has only 1 person for Viking service, and he must service 4 states, the earliest he can get to my house is April 4th! Viking will not refund my money. Viking will not replace the range...basically Viking will not do anything. I have now been without a working range since March 3, 2012. The refrigerator is brighter than before and I like when the door close I feel like it’s suctioning the air kind of feeling. But I hope for the shelves to be strong in the future because it’s a little bit weak. We were remodeling our home and wanted to get some built-in appliances. We compared Viking to Thermador and some of the other top brands and decided to go with Viking because of their great promotion. The refrigerator looks deceivingly small. So, when you open it, you feel like, Im not going to fit as much stuff in there. But you do fit a lot in there. So, Im pretty pleased with it. The freezer portion makes a couple of noises. It sort of snaps and crackles and makes some little noises there that probably could be improved. But otherwise no, its great. We actually are on our second refrigerator. The first one that arrived was defective. We got a hold of Viking through the company that sold it to us. Viking was great. They sent out a new refrigerator. They came picked up the old one, and there was no problem. It took a little while, but there were some other complications probably that were at play at that time. Other than the delay, it was a smooth process.

Viking has a good reputation, but weve never used a Viking refrigerator, so we didnt know what to expect. The refrigerator has been better than what we thought, and it was well priced. We went by the brand name, and so far, we havent been disappointed. Weve had our Viking since November 20th of 2018. We purchased the product from a Bellevue Albert Lee office, and they were great to work with. They were very responsive and helped us make the right selections on our appliances in general and the Viking refrigerator in particular. Weve been very pleased with the Viking refrigerator. It meets our needs. I like that it has a really good size freezer and ample compartments. The way the compartments work and the way were able to access and store food products has worked out well for us.

I wanted to get a very solid looking refrigerator, but it needed to fit in the existing space, which was a little tricky. I had a choice between Viking and one other. But I liked the way the Viking French door refrigerator looks, the layout, and the fact that it fit in the slot. The dealer has been excellent but they only delivered to the garage and they dont do the installation for liability reasons, at least from Mount Vernon location. So I had to hire someone to install the fridge. One issue that I find that in the refrigerator section is if Ive got lettuce or something near the back, the fridge will freeze it. So I just turned down the temperature in the refrigerator to see if that would do it and so far, its working fine. I like my Viking refrigerator - its very solid, looks well-made and has a nice warranty.

I like the look of Viking Refrigerators and it was a right fit for what we needed. So we got a package deal from them and ended up getting two refrigerators. They’ve been great up until a month ago where unfortunately, one of them malfunctioned. The refrigerators are in our vacation home, and the gentleman who came out and checked it said the foam came loose and got caught in the fans. There was no coolant happening and no fans were going off, and it was heating up the temperature so all of the fixtures on the doors cracked from the heat. The food in my refrigerator also cooked for about two weeks, so it took 11 hours for the cleaners to get it cleaned and it still smells.I was still hoping that Viking will get it fixed, but parts have to be ordered and the gentleman who came out and told me to put coffee or charcoal in the refrigerator also said that the inside of my refrigerator got cooked. Its now beige and is off color. He said if I can live with that, then my refrigerator will probably be okay. But I was asked what I wanted and I said Id like the refrigerator replaced because it’s clear that theres something wrong and they came out and confirmed it. But theyre going to send all the pieces to put it together, and thats very silly to replace all the stuff as I don’t think my refrigerator is going to be all right because of the inside coloring. Its going to cost them as much for each of those drawers because everything inside the refrigerator wasn’t metal and most of the shelvings cracked and completely dropped to the bottom of the refrigerator, smothered in whatever food I had there, and it was just not good.My second Viking refrigerator, a small one that’s on the counter by my stove, also decided to kick out, which is weird because Viking is usually a very good product. The tech said he’s seen it on three others in his time and he’s worked for 20 years on Viking, but he’s never seen it this bad. So I hope they do the right thing and replace the product because it clearly was faulty. I think its a great product. Its sleek and I loved it, but Im still a little frustrated. Its been two weeks and I haven’t heard anything back, so Im going to call and see what was happening with my refrigerator.

We did some research on the appliances before we had our house built. There were Viking appliances at the stores then I ordered and read their book. I thought the quality was good. My granddaughters school had Viking appliances. I talked with the people that run the facility there and asked them what they thought of the Viking and how it worked. They convinced me that it was definitely worth it.All of my kitchen appliances are Viking and I wanted to register for all of the warranties. I went to the Viking website and it would not allow me to do that. Then I was having an issue with the dishwasher, and I couldn’t find in the book to correct it. I ended up having to call the repair personnel to get out of the mode as it went into an error code. I had to schedule an appointment and then it took a couple of weeks for them to get here. I also asked the gentleman to help me register the appliances for warranty and he did that. I gave him the information and he was very helpful. For the money that I spent on this kitchen, I expected a concierge service. But Im pretty much pleased with it. Its pretty good and right now, it seems to fit my needs. I like the way the doors are softly closed in the refrigerator. Its good and its a little larger than the standard size. I also like the ice dispenser. I would like the water dispenser but then that would be an additional cost. Overall, Im well satisfied and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

I bought my Viking microwave (which is really made by Sharp) in August of 2013 and have already had to have the door switch replaced 3 times. It is only Nov. 4th, 2013! Guess what, today the microwave quit working for the 4th time. The same thing happens as the last 3 times. I can reset the breaker and as soon as I open the microwave door, the breaker trips again. So, I have learned to put the food in the microwave, flip the breaker and heat my food. As soon as I open the door to take out my food the breaker trips again. This has to be some kind of joke. I paid a hefty price tag for my Viking appliances and have only had a working microwave for just over half of the time Ive owned it. It always takes at least 10 days for parts to come and then 2 days to schedule a repair man. So, for a total of 35 days or so since mid-August until now, I havent had a working microwave. Now my Viking stove has an issue after just a few months. The center burner constantly tries to light. The burner is on with a flame, but the ignitor is constantly clicking and sparking, but thats another review.

I bought a house on June 1 that has all Viking appliances. Since I bought the house, the start button has broken twice, each time taking 2 weeks to repair. Luckily the old owner purchased an extended warranty so it was covered, but I literally used it twice and the button broke again. He told me to tap very lightly, but even with that, a tiny plastic part cracked and the dishwasher wouldnt work. Then I received a notice that an electrical part in the dishwasher was on recall and would take 14 business days to arrive at my house, at which point I could schedule a repair person to fix it. Again, the dishwasher will be out of service for 4 weeks. I called Viking and asked them to extend the warranty because the dishwasher has so many problems but they declined. They said the start button will be covered for a year, but labor isnt covered once my extended warranty is up. Ive never had a dishwasher problem before, and this one has only worked for 4 washes in the last 3 months. Save a lot of money and aggravation and pick a different one.

I wanted a Viking range for decades, so every time I looked at commercial-type ranges, it was usually either Viking or Wolf. But, Viking has always been the commercial style range that I wanted, but I put it off for years and years because I wanted the double oven size with six burners. Then I realized that to get the one I wanted, it would involve remodeling half of my kitchen to make space for it. So, I finally decided that, instead of putting it off because of that, Im just going to get the 30-inch one, so it would fit into the existing space. And so I did and Im happy. I bought ours at Colders, a furniture store, and I worked with someone who specializes in Viking ranges. It is an authorized dealer.Ive always had electric ranges my whole life. And one of the things that I havent liked in the past about gas ranges is the gas oven. Id prefer an electric oven and a gas stovetop. And now that they make dual-fuel ranges that are the perfect answer for me. Also, I just like the ruggedness of it. The hole that you put the pots on, theyre like army tanks. Theyre big, heavy, iron grates that are just so well-built. And the whole thing is heavy-duty that can last a lifetime. I like the simplicity of it, too. The electric range that I replaced was all digital. It had all kinds of extra digital features that I never used. This one has mechanical knobs, and everything works perfectly. However, the caveat is theyre expensive. So, you really have to be dedicated to cooking. If they were cheaper, I would have bought two. You really have to want that kind of a range before you are willing to spend that much money. Other than that, from the performance and quality of the Viking, it is 5-star all the way. It would be my top recommendation for a commercial range.

The company that brought the fridge out did a fantastic job. We like the lights inside which are really bright. Its also a lot quieter than the old Viking we had. It also has sliding drawers on it that you’d touch and they just shut on their own. One time, we called to talk to somebody at Viking about the warranty and my wife said that went really well. I’ve known about Viking for a while and I love their appliances. I went to a kitchen showroom in Concord and Viking had all the requirements that I wanted for my range. The burners today have different gas ranges on them and it drives me crazy. Theres a range for simmering, another one for boiling and then one for regular cooking. Viking is one of the very few appliance makers that has a range top that every burner has the same BTU capacity so I can cook on any burner I want. Also, Im only 54 and when I have a regular door on the top, I have to reach in. I had a double oven before and I burnt my arms a couple of times trying to reach in and get the stuff out. Viking has this double oven that I can open with one hand and both doors open. I was going for the complete functionality and that is why I chose Viking. My refrigerator is working well and keeps my Cokes cold. I like it. But I had to call Viking for a service because the icemaker wasnt working. It would turn on but it wouldnt make ice. The plug in the back for the condenser wasnt plugged in all the way. When it was installed, nobody caught it because it looked like it was plugged in and its not something I would see until I took the back off. The techs said it might have wiggled off a little during transit. There was also a spring that was not quite right on the freezer door but the techs came and fixed the issues. They are also changing a rheostat, a component in the hood, cause the light flickers and they have that on order. All in all, the Viking team is very professional and the techs were attentive and did a good job.

I always knew of Viking and I wanted more of a commercial stove. But when I bought from them, the time frame was awful. I ordered in November and I got it in January. There was also an issue with the stove and that was very frustrating. But it got fixed. Then, I had a scratch on it which was right at the surface of the stainless steel ledge. Their person ended up telling me that it was a really common place and it was going to get scratched eventually. So I just told her to forget it, which stinks. But it is what it is and I couldnt wait any longer. I wasnt going to send the range back for a small scratch, but it still shouldnt have been there.Aside from that, Viking did not handle any issues with me. I had to go through the seller, which was frustrating because they just kept saying they were waiting. So because of COVID, it took a while, which I understand. But there was no follow-up whatsoever, so you felt it was a burden calling. Everybody was calling with the same stuff and they were mad about it. I have little children and I didnt have appliances for months. That was so hard and I will never do that again. I love the stove now. Its big and I can cook whatever I want whenever I want because the size is nice. I also like that each burner is the same size. But there was so much trouble that I dont know that I would buy a Viking range again.

Trying to get parts in has proven to be next to impossible. On three different occasions, different parts were needed for 3 separate Viking appliances, it took over one month to get parts delivered to service repairman. When questioning the repairmen (I have tried 2 different service companies) they all stated that they were unable to get anyone to answer any questions, had no tech support, and were very hard to work with. I love my appliances, however going without a dishwasher for over 1 month, after 3 service calls and still the part is not on its way. And of course the warranty is out! I need a motherboard replaced after only under 2 years of buying the appliances. $345 for just the motherboard, not to mention 3 service calls. We liked Vikings name recognition and aesthetics. I feel good about the quality of the range that we got. The installer commented that it was the heaviest range of that size he had ever tried to lift in his life. And he’s been installing high-end appliances for 15 years. Weight is a good indication of quality to me. You can typically look at the weight of something and figure out whether it’s made well or not. I also liked that we could get the Viking range in a custom color because my wife wanted a black one. We had to wait a couple of extra months for Viking to build that one. Having the dual fuel, which is the gas range and the electric oven, is good too.We got our Viking range at Bob Wallace Appliance in Huntsville, Alabama. They were really good and I would definitely recommend them. I picked out the range online, talked with the salesperson, ordered it over the phone, and had it delivered to my house. The whole thing from step one to the final step was done without me ever stepping foot in the store.I know that Viking and other high-end brands like this have like a no discount policy. But we were able to take advantage of a sale going on to where when we bought the range, we got a free Viking dishwasher with it. Also, one of the things that I wanted, we were going from a electric stove to a gas stove and I wanted a vent hood. And as part of that Viking promotion, we could pick a microwave or a dishwasher. In the future, they could add to the list of free products that one could get. I would’ve taken a free vent hood even though it’s less expensive than a dishwasher because I didn’t need a new dishwasher. I just got it anyways because it was free. The promotions like that are really good and as far as the stove, everything works perfectly right now.

We have owned many Viking appliances over the years. Our most recent purchases have been a $5,000.00 freestanding gas range (VGSC530-4B) with 2 safety recall problems. Very inconvenient and required 2 days of my time to coordinate service people and repairs. Second, an undercounter microwave oven (VMOD240) which cost $1,300.00 and has a cheap plastic keypad. The finish started wearing off of the numbers within 18 months of normal use (by 2 people). Now it looks unsightly and dirty even though it is clean. I just ordered a replacement keypad part which cost $90... ridiculous for a strip of plastic. A microwave this expensive should be of higher quality and last longer. Also, over the phone, Viking customer service representatives can be snooty and surly. Hello... I am a C U S T O M E R... who has spent a significant amount of money on your products. Maybe you should be nice!! I will consider purchasing appliances from another manufacturer for my next project.

A Viking fridge was part of our home purchase. We were able to pick out the refrigerator that we prefer within some limitations. We could pick the fridge with or without the ice dispenser on the door but we couldnt really change the size because weve already locked in the design of the cabinet. Still, we had the option of picking one from three different vendors. I like the size and the overall layout of the one we ended up with. The quality of refrigeration is okay, however, theres a lot of temperature differential within the interior of the refrigerator - the top shelf might be 34 degrees and the bottom shelf might be 41 degrees. The reason I know the temperature now is because the temperature that it was set to wasnt anywhere close to what it actually was. Hence I bought a little wireless thermometer that I could put in the refrigerator to tell me in real time what the temperature was. Just from putting that in different places in the refrigerator, I found that theres more difference in temperature than I wouldve expected. I havent worried as much about the freezer although we had a number of service issues. With these service issues, it took three or four service calls to finally get the problem sorted out.

However, on the back of the range, we bought a separate piece for the air to come up from the oven, and it blows the burners when the oven is on and causes the burners not to be as efficient. I have several friends who have Viking Ranges and they all have raved about it. I use it often at their lake houses, vacation homes, and homes. I purchased mine from Elite Appliances in Dallas and my personal contact was Jeff. He was the most responsive vendor I’ve ever worked with. He would follow up on a regular basis via email, phone call, and text messaging. I was very impressed with him. He really took me on as a very personal customer and he was very good about understanding what I really needed. I was buying five or six different Viking pieces which was a big order that I’m sure was small to him. The product quality is exceptional and the range itself is very sturdy and more commercial like.

I have been to quite a few places and then I came across the range. I did a little research online and found that the product is reputable and reliable and thats when I decided on Viking. I selected the model and then I went through my home builder. They bought it and put it in for me. Then one of the sparkle was not lighting up. The people came out right the next day and had it fixed in a jiffy so it was great. The quality is excellent. I love it. I like that the power outlet is able to get my pan really hot quickly.

When we remodeled our kitchen I decided to purchase all Viking appliances based on their reputation, and I thought they were built in the US. I have had issues since day one and have never really had anything resolved satisfactorily by Viking. My double oven has slow heating up times, uneven cooking, even on convection, and now has issues with the digital timer. My biggest disappointment however is the refrigerator. I was so excited to have a large all refrigerator in my kitchen. It has had multiple cooling problems since day one. I think the real problem has never been diagnosed and is now so bad that it is not fixable. I have spent over $2000 on repairs and it still doesnt work. The door is simply too heavy for the hinges and will not close in the top left corner. This produces massive condensation on the inside which freezes. It also causes uneven cooling where my vegetables in the crisper at the bottom are frozen and the milk on the middle shelf is warm. We have replaced the gasket and adjusted the hinges but it simply will not close the gap. This is a design problem. Disgraceful for a product that cost over $7000. As of yet Viking seems on interested in resolving a problem. They are certified repair company has said that they are unable to help any further.

We bought a brand new Viking Professional 301 Series Built-In Dishwasher when we moved into a new townhouse 18 months ago. It hasnt worked in a month, although we have had 4 service calls and 4 parts replacements in 3 weeks - after the last visit it flooded the kitchen floor after the tech left. I think we have had 8 service calls in 18 months. There is obviously a problem with the dishwasher (it has been discontinued) however Viking refuses to consider replacing it. Viking does not stand by their product - rather than provide us with a working unit, they prefer to jerry-rig a series of failing repairs. This is one of the worst customer service experiences we have ever had. I would not recommend Viking to anyone. I understand that appliances fail, however for us the failure has been the integrity and quality of Viking Customer Service. What a disappointment.

Within 3 months, I started having problems with all three appliances. The decals wiped off. When I complained to Viking, they said that cosmetics were not covered after 3 months. I dont know if my oven is on or what the temperature is. How is this cosmetic? I have had dozens of visits from Viking repair experts. They dont know how to order the correct parts. I have been taken away from my work for nothing. They come out but they leave without accomplishing a thing. I have had 2 door hinge repairs and the refrigerator will not automatically close. Viking has driven me insane. With all the money they have spent trying to repair my appliances, they should have just replaced the items free of charge. We, the consumer, are the ones suffering while they sit back and laugh. Dont ever buy Viking products. You will be sorry.

I got a French Door Refrigerator from Viking and I like that part of it. However, Theres a ding on the door because the people who designed my kitchen didnt have clearances from Viking. So far, the quality of refrigeration hasnt been than great. Plus, the refrigerator lost power completely one time. We didnt realize it at the time and so we lost everything in the refrigerator. Additionally, one of the drawers inside the refrigerator doesnt fit properly. We called in to Viking and they sent another drawer out. However, theres a fitting below the bottom of the door which doesnt line up right. That needs to be fixed. Somebody from Viking is gonna come by my place to talk about the clearance of the door.

In 2012 we replaced a 14 year-old JennAir oven and microwave, which were old but working fine, with what we thought were upgraded Pro Viking products. We are sorely disappointed with both but I will focus on the microwave for now. VMOS201SS with trim kit came to over $1000 with taxes and looked lovely. However, the control pad is impossible to clean and the microwave oven, after 4 years of moderate use for reheating only, works intermittently. Sometimes it works... sometimes it is dead. Apparently there is a switch in the door that is malfunctioning. Repair company that services Viking charged $160 to look at it and ordered a new part from Sharp, who manufactured this piece of junk. That was in early January. I am writing this in mid March with no part in sight. Repair company is not at fault. Viking is stalling sending the part. It is not worth replacing the part at this point so I will reuse the trim kit and order from a different manufacturer. Frigidaire FGMO205KF looks like it will fit and has good reviews. I will never buy another Viking product.

We have had Viking Ranges since they pretty much came out. We are on our third Viking Range. When we remodeled our house, my husband wanted to get me something high quality because I’m a baker and I cook a lot. So we’ve researched and thats what came up. I like the way the Viking Range looks. We also renovate houses since the 80s and we always put a Viking Range in there. We flip higher end houses and people wanted Viking look or Wolf. We bought one Wolf and I hated the Wolf. I was like, Forget it. I don’t have to buy another Wolf. Weve bought plenty of Viking Ranges. The first one I had was a gas range and I loved it. And then we traded that for a dual fuel electric oven which I hated. The oven was much smaller and I couldnt fit all my baking pans. I couldnt even fit a turkey in it. I was really disappointed in that. It also started arching, spitting and shooting flames out the vent and the top. Wed called Viking to find out if there was any root cause. And they said not that they are aware of. So we ended up going through our insurance company in getting a new one. I got the Dual Fuel Viking Range. Its the four-burner. They did change the oven so its much bigger. Ive baked four cakes already with it and its only been a month. I wish they would have had one on the floor so I could have looked at it. But most people arent caring them because theyre so expensive. The people that I talked to at Viking have been very nice. But I wish we could have gotten more information about the other one that had started the fire. They didnt seem very interested and we still have that oven. They werent also going to take the oven so we figured we just hang on to it and see. Were thinking of making an outside kitchen and just tearing the oven apart and turning it into an outside stove. They also have people who came to hook a Viking Range up but hooked up the electric cord wrong. So then we didnt have an oven for a week cause it wouldnt work. Somebody came to fix it. They replaced the cord and took it right one on and that works great.

I paid over 5K for this American-made range (ordered March 2018). I expected the quality to be top-notch. Not only does the sheet metal have stress cracks, many screws were loose and stripped out, the unit is not square and fits the space like a rhombus, but the door wont even close right. A third-party tech looked at it and simply commented that hed seen much worse come out of their factory. The side panel overlaps the rear panel, so that the gas line wont fit in the slot described on the installation diagram. This extra piece had to be trimmed off by me! The porcelain coating is abraded on one of the 3 grate supports, and the grates themselves had numerous casting flaws that had to be ground down, or additional severe scratching would have occurred. Burner assemblies are stamped China. The oven cycles about every 2 minutes, and when it does only runs for about 8 seconds - I understand that this means the temp. is more stable, but also feel this contributes to shortening the life of various components. Ive partially blocked the ridiculously large vent holes, which helps considerably. Im still waiting for the 24 high shelf - ordered 7 weeks ago - still on back order. After contacting Viking, I received a nice reply that theyre going to forward my concerns to their quality control dept. How does that help me? My advice - try another brand. It seems Vikings quality control is currently non-existent. Maybe Wolf?

I remodeled my kitchen in 2018 and purchased all Viking appliances. Less than 2 years later I already have problems with the dishwasher (the detergent door doesnt open during the wash cycle), the freezer stopped making ice and the door to my steam oven spontaneously shattered when I opened it. I know this sounds crazy but it is absolutely true. I was opening the door, heard a pop and all of a sudden the glass started shattering. When I contacted Viking I was told my appliances were out of warranty. They only warranty them a year but who expects these expensive, high end appliances to start having problems so soon? My old (non-high end) appliances lasted 20 years! I never once had a problem. Whats most upsetting is Vikings attitude. I thought I was purchasing high quality appliances from a reputable company but thats not the way I feel anymore. Their customer service is terrible. They are slow to respond to emails and phone calls and truly dont seem interested in helping their customers or standing by their product.I had one service company they recommended come and leave with out fixing anything. The service tech said I should just put the detergent pod in the utensil holder and he glanced at the ice maker, said there was an ice cube stuck and declared it fixed. So here I am, a month later with nothing resolved. My biggest regret is not researching. Before you buy: research, get recommendations from friends, visit different appliance stores and talk to the sales people. And read reviews on web sites other than the brands site. I noticed Viking has no negative reviews on their site.

My 3-yr-old Viking refrigerator RDDFF236SS stopped cooling on Oct. 20, 2015. We lost everything in the fridge and freezer. I have discovered online that countless people have had this same thing happen with this same model. Our local repair person told me its the compressor and other sealed parts, so I had to go directly to Viking. The Viking authorized repair shop cant come out until Oct. 28!Like others in reviews Ive read with the same problem, we are camping in our own home with camp coolers and daily runs for ice. If the repair person cant fix it on the visit tomorrow, Im contacting Viking again to request they buy back this lemon, which I had to do with our Viking stove a year ago, after the oven failed three times, two of those on successive Thanksgiving Eves -- not the holiday tradition I want. I finally insisted, on the third failure, that they buy the stove back at full price, which they grudgingly did after many, many phone calls. Now I have a Wolf range and couldnt be happier. I will never recommend Viking to anyone -- in fact, I actively tell people not to buy Viking. (I do want to say that the people at the authorized repair shop couldnt have been nicer about the Viking stove each time they had to come out.)

A friend of ours also had a Viking that we really liked the style of. We compared it against other ones in the showroom and generally liked the look of it better. We got a Viking range and dealt with MD Appliance in La Canada, California, and they were great. They were good at calling out the features and differences between them and the other top-of-the-line one that was like a Wolf. There are also a couple of very small, little, kinda like nitpicky things I noticed with the range. When the burner is at a very low setting, almost like on the simmer setting, it has a flickering effect on the gas burner. Also its not a smooth, sort of clean sounding burn when it’s up higher. So if I were to perfect the range, I would eliminate that kind of irritating flicker sound. The burners themselves are very heavy, which is fine. But the metal bottom of the burners is very rough, and it’s not a finished metal. So unfortunately when our house cleaner was taking it off of there, she scratched some of the surface of the range which freaking killed us, because it was like the price of a car. I wished that there was either some of sort of powder coat or some kind of finish on the underside of the burner that would prevent that type of thing from happening. But other than that were pleased with the quality and I have no problem recommending it.

I have the old Viking Professional series range and I really like that the oven is hot and the burner is very strong. I also use the broiler a lot for cooking. The power of the stove is very important to me. I changed the old one because the fire doesnt start anymore. I chose a different series since I wanted to have a five-burner, however, it is not as good as the old one. I cant believe Viking used rubber for some of the parts and it melted and fell off, even though its only been two months. I called the dealer and they ordered the parts for me. Hopefully, it will go back in. Right now, the grate wobbles since theres no rubber underneath to prevent it from scratching. The materials used for making the grate is cast-iron material which is very hard to clean. Anything that touches it leaves marks. Also, after cooking, theres a fan to cool off, but it goes on for a very long time. Next is that the oven takes much longer to cook. If Im making a chicken for one hour, I have to add 10 more minutes and it doesnt reach the temperature that it promised. Another is the knobs. Theyre metal so they turn very hot and burn me. Also, the print for the temperature and the off and on came off from the rubber. I have had the old range for 10 years, but I have never seen such bad quality printing. It doesnt look like it has been properly done. Hopefully, these knobs will last better. There are a lot of flaws with this series and since its a stove, I cant return it. But if people are looking for temperature similar to a strong fire on a stove, then this Viking range is good.

We were not given full information about the internal cooling fan, which was not only loud, but it didn’t just cool down and then shut off. Through our entire dinner, we heard the fan going on and off. Another other issue was that the burners all fluttered and made noise. We had our propane company come out and check the pressure of our propane and everything was fine. But we couldn’t get it to simmer without it going out and we couldn’t get it on high, even the highest flame without it fluttering. It never worked properly. We remodeled our kitchen eight years ago. We were so excited that our new kitchen was going to be an all Viking Professional kitchen, seven appliances. Unfortunately, our excitement was short lived. We began having issues, first, with our range. After several years of dealing with the oven we finally got those issues resolved. The refrigerator is just not well made. The crisping drawer has lost its plastic windows. The plastic butter keepers on the door have broken also. But we have had to have the ice maker repaired continually. Currently, the water dispenser and ice bucket have broken again. We had our repairman find out how much it will cost to replace them. Its going to cost $1,600 to replace the parts. So we have decided not to put any more money into repairing this refrigerator since we could have bought a brand new one with the money we have already spent on repairs on this one. We also have a Viking Professional three zone wine refrigerator. The fans for the different zones continue to break. We are currently waiting on two fans because two zones fans are broken. In fact, this time one fan broke and we ordered the fan. When it arrived it had broken in the mail. In the meantime another fan has broken. So we are currently waiting on two new whole fan units. Our Viking Professional dishwashers bottom rack only has one wheel because the others have broken. On the top rack there are folding panels on the sides that have broken so many times that we have just zip tied them on. And the door on the soap dispenser has broken off. I realize our appliances are eight years old but we have had problems with them from the very beginning. I also realize Viking is under new ownership. But, unfortunately, Ive lost my faith in the brand.

We have had a Viking range for almost our entire married life. We lost our range in the tornado the day after Christmas, and we did not rebuild. We bought another house. The range that we had in here was an LG and it was a piece of crap. I had to turn off the air conditioning because the gas burner would blow the flame to the right and it wouldnt heat anything. The broiler never got hot enough. I could put my hand under it. It did not do anything it was supposed to do. So, we went back to a Viking. Our other Viking was a double oven, griddle, grill, four-burner and it was wonderful. Our kitchen is not that big this time, so we just got a four-burner gas range and the single oven. The broiler works and the burners have power. I like the center thing where I can put an oval pot in the center. The fellows who delivered it were above and beyond. They spent a lot of time here, carted away our other range and got this one situated. At first, we thought it was gonna stick out from the wall too much and wed have to relocate the gas line a bit, but once they put it in place, it was fine.

When I shut the freezer door of the Viking refrigerator, it hangs up about a half an inch on one side and then I gotta slam it in. Its also overheating. Then every time I open the freezer drawer, the ice bin flips out on the floor, it goes backward. The machine rubs on the top of the ice because the ice bin is full and so the ice flips out. Now Ive got to open the door very carefully so I dont get ice on the floor because my floor is not in yet. But if I normally pull the door, it would do that. Viking could have designed this a little bit better.I called the retailer, Freds Appliance, immediately for repair and they said theyd get somebody out. A week passed and nobody called so I called again. The guy asked if somebody called me and I said no. He said that hed get right on it. Then another few days passed and we finally got a call. We purchased a newly built home and had all Viking appliances installed. The range puts out good heat but the oven is definitely malfunctioning. It cycles every minute no matter what temperature you set it to so if I am baking something that takes 2 hours, Ill hear the igniter click and the flame come on over 100 times. I dont know if its because the flame is reigniting so often but the smell of gas is so strong. Also, the door gets so hot you cant even touch it without wearing an oven mitt. All of these make me afraid to use the oven. I called Viking and theyve sent out the same repair person twice who told me that the cycling every minute is normal and the door is supposed to get hot because heat radiates. I understand heat radiates but it shouldnt get so hot you can burn yourself. What happens if children accidentally get close to the oven? I also dont understand why for a supposed high end oven, the temperature cant be maintained for more than a minute when the flame goes out before it reignites again. And since its cycling every minute no matter what temp you set it to and regardless if you leave the oven door closed for 2 hours (yes, we tested it with the door closed for 2 hours to make sure we werent losing heat from opening the door), it doesnt seem like the cycling is temperature related at all. When I call Viking, they tell me this is NOT normal and a repair person needs to come out to make adjustments. Theyve sent the same repair person twice who insists this is normal. I called again today and asked for a different company. The same person has been scheduled to come out tomorrow, wholl likely tell me again that this is what I have to get use to with this oven. This oven is a hazard. Youll either be afraid to use it or youll end up burning yourself or inhaling carbon monoxide fumes. I had to turn the oven off yesterday because I got a terrible headache from the fumes. I am writing this to advise everyone to not buy a Viking. Also, now it is documented that these issues existed in the event something bad happens.

I want a grill like the grill top that I could just put on. I called when we first got the range last year and they said theyll be coming out with it. I called again this year and they still havent. The second thing is one of the burners got defective. It leaks, so we cant use them. It shoots up flames that could cause a fire. When you put it on low and then high, there are flames that really come out of it. But, other than that, were very happy with our Viking Range.
