The Viking hood that goes with the Viking range could not be installed in my house because I do not have 10-foot ceilings. We had to purchase a non-Viking hood to match the range. We did need to call in a repairman because the ovens werent lighting nor were they maintaining the heat and the interior lights werent coming on. He said that they were not plugged in on the interior. We had been using it for a year and exactly a year later, without moving the oven or anything else, it became unplugged from the inside. But because it was still under warranty, we had it serviced very quickly. The quality has been superb.

Ive known about Viking for years and they have always been a commercial line. My wife and I have always enjoyed cooking. We thought we would take a step up in quality so we got one. We are enjoying the Viking range. We had a different range for a few weeks but we decided to have a cast plate into our house. So I did that first then, I ordered the Viking range from the retailer inside Best Buy. We bought the 30 inch, which is the smallest one that Viking makes but it makes a heck of a difference in cooking. However, I wish we would have a larger space. We wanted to widen the kitchen, take some cabinets down and put in either 38 or the 42 but we just couldnt scrape up enough pennies because Viking is not a cheap stove. We also got the combination which we like because the oven is larger to do the cooking. The oven is electric and the top is gas so its really nice because the oven is all hidden and sealed. I also love the idea of the quick heating. It has the solid, medium and the consistent heating where you just set it and its awesome. Unlike when it’s electric, the heat is always coming off and on in order to maintain a certain temperature. Were really happy with the Viking range. We love the feature of the sealed burners as well. Its so easy to clean. The stainless steel takes fingerprints that bad but with just a couple of wipes, its all cleaned up. Viking range is beautiful but it’s not for someone who doesn’t cook that often or not a good cook. It’s an overbuy for them. But I would recommend it to anyone who has the enthusiasm that my wife and I have when it comes to cooking. We really appreciate it and we love it. Its worth every penny.

We bought a brand-new house and the builder put all Viking appliances in it. We bought a brand-new refrigerator and two things went wrong with it. The fan in the freezer stopped working so everything was at 20 degrees instead of 0 degrees and things started getting soft. Also, one of the hinges of the door broke. We contacted the builder and he told us to call Viking, so we did. And then Viking gave us the local repair shop who came and fixed everything. Once everything was fixed, everything worked beautifully. We’re very happy with it.

I have always heard about Viking Ranges and always wanted one. We remodeled our whole house, so we got all new appliances. We did some research and Viking Range was really out of my cost range but I found one at Best Buy that was being discontinued and it was locked down and so we got it. I chose Viking because I liked the look of it. I wanted a dual fuel and I liked the look of the cooktop and I particularly like the self-cleaning range. I was also looking at a KitchenAid but when I dug deeper, I found that it wasnt self-cleaning and Viking Range appeared to be. I havent cleaned it yet. We used to have just a cooktop and a separate oven and I wanted both of those combined together. Other ranges were far away from the actual burner itself and I really wanted one that was closer. I really like the shelf, pulling it in and out and Viking was very smooth in that. So, we decided to go with a Viking Range. However, the quality is not so good. We bought it in October off the showroom floor. They sat here for over a month and then they installed it and it didnt work. The gas cooktop worked but the electric oven did not work. Since we bought it at Best Buy through Pacific Sales and we signed up for their Geek Squad offer or the five-year plan, we called them and someone came out the next day. They told us that the motherboard was fried. So, they said I have to order another one. So, we waited and waited and finally, they ordered the part, the part came and the guy who came to install it said, Oh, this is the wrong part. This is not what we ordered. So at that point, this was in January, I was fed up with them because both who came had no good things to say about Viking. We started questioning if we made the right decision. Maybe we loved the way it looks, but if I have problems with it, then this is not the range for us. So, we went to Best Buy and Pacific Sales, and we talked to them and they were very nice about it. They asked if we want our money refunded or if we want to pick out another one instead. I selected the KitchenAid that I wasnt going to get the first time. And in the meantime, they gave me the name of the Viking dealer in Dallas area that provides some support for that kind of thing and told us, Call them directly and see what they can do. And if they get it fixed and you want to use it, use it until your other one comes in. So, the KitchenAid was back ordered and it was just supposed to be delivered last Thursday. The guy came out from the other place and he worked on the Viking range and he said, Well, I think its just the power supply thats bad on it. Let me get a part for it. So, he ordered a part, he came out and it was just the power supply. He fixed it and got it up and running and thats been a couple of weeks ago. Now, its up and running and I love it. The guy who fixed it recommended that we should call Viking and get an extended warranty from them. I did but Viking doesnt offer an extended warranty. Also, theres a lot of things in there and I have not used but I did not get anything with it that tells you not to do or how to convert or any of that. I got to figure that out. I have conventional kitchen instructions and I wanted it to convert it to convection but I dont know how thats going to work yet. We bought an extended warranty with Best Buy or Pacific Sales because it does have a material warranty on it. So, Im going to call the people who can fix it for two years and then we go back to Best Buy for the last three years. I havent used all the functionality on there but I love what Ive used, which is bake and Ive used the cooktop and the grill on the cooktop. If I had purchased it from someone else who knew more about Viking, I might have had a different experience. I dont know how long they studied Viking. But when I called the Viking repair people directly, they said not everyones authorized to make changes. If youre going to buy something off the floor, it should work, and you should have people who are authorized to fix come out and work on it. And whoever comes out, since you spent a ton of money on it, you want someone to confirm that you made the right decision and not bad mouth what you had.

We’ve just moved into a new build and we got to pick the appliances, and the contractor ordered everything for us. I like the fact that the Viking ranges rolling shelf that can roll in and out and I can actually adjust the height of it because a lot of ovens that I’ve seen before were fixed in a certain place. So, that’s handy and it seems to cook evenly. We like everything about it - the way it looks, the little lights that come on it, where the knobs are, and it also functions well. We’re very happy with it. Its of very good quality and its worth spending the extra money.

When we decided to purchase a new fridge, there were only a couple of choices - GE, Sub-zero and Viking, so I went with the better choice. We also got a Viking dishwasher, stove and hood, and so far, they have been okay. But we had a problem with the freezer down below. Someone came and fixed it, but it took a long time. Other than that, its still in good shape and its doors are nice. Ive had other brands and the Vikings quality seems okay. I wouldve preferred to have a mostly full refrigerator and a small freezer, and didnt wanna have one with a freezer below because the ice maker was also below, and I dont freeze a lot of stuff. But this particular Viking fridge came like that.

We bought our house about 5 years ago and it came with Viking appliances which we were excited about. The fridge worked great for a few years but about 2 years ago it started leaking water all over the floor. Huge pools of water would collect in the bottom of the freezer and freeze over, which prohibited us from closing the freezer door all the way. We had an authorized repairman come twice and they told us it was probably a clogged drain line. We got really tired of stepping into huge piles of water on our floor every few weeks and starting to damage our hardwood floors. After the 2nd repairman visit told us it probably wasnt going to get better we finally just got a new Kenmore fridge last week. Now we have an old Viking fridge sitting in our hall and Im wondering if we try to sell it on Craigslist at a deep discount as its a bit of a lemon. We also havent loved our dishwasher as even though we clean the drain at the bottom, it still starts to smell between washings. The oven and range work great, though!

Our house came with Viking appliances. The refrigerator/freezer VCSB423SS started thawing food in the freezer. The Viking authorized repairman diagnosed the problem as a floating restriction and quoted us $4,000 to decontaminate each unit that uses freon (evaporator, heat expander, etc.). That amount is only for labor since the unit is still under the 12 year warranty. I cant believe it will cost $4,000!!! Can someone from Viking verify this amount?

We just got a range that we knew had worked for many years. Theyre a little expensive, but the quality is excellent, so it may be worth it. One time, we were doing routine cleaning and it was very dark in there even with the light on. I turned the flashlight and I could see that there was a scratch. For the price-point we paid, it shouldnt be scratched already. Its a year old. I called somebody and he took all my information. He said that they would call me to set up a person to come take a look at it and nobody followed up with that. That was two months ago. But then I like all of this range. Its very easy to clean, and the heat is very easy to control.

I am writing you this letter to make you aware of the quality control, R&am
I am writing you this letter to make you aware of the quality control, R&D and customer service issues that you have with your products and within your company. As you read this letter, you will see that I have purchased quite a few of your products and have owned eight homes which exposed me to many brands. I also cook almost every night. Unfortunately, my Viking appliances have been the worst appliance purchases I have ever made. The issues I have with my Viking appliances are what I would expect from a much cheaper brand. With the money I spent on your products, I expected your products to be of commercial grade and able to hold up to repeated use. Based on the blogs all over the internet, I can see that my issues are in line with a lot of other folks. I have outlined the issues of each Viking product that I have owned for your review. In 2005, I bought a Viking 54 gas grill in Texas which I used through 7/8/2008. This item was a fire hazard waiting to happen. We used it 3-4 days per week. The grates that redirected the grease down to the grease pan were poorly designed. It was shaped in a V with round holes the size of a pencil eraser. The holes would clog and the grease and droppings would stay in the V. This forced me to clean them weekly to reduce the risk of fire (hardly ever had to clean the grease pan). Even after a thorough cleaning, you could not leave the hood down for extended time (even on low) or you would have a fire (my wife and post owner blew the knobs off the grill.). Fortunately, no one was in front of the grill at the time. I would never buy another Viking grill. The grates were a poor design. Weber and Wolfe have a much better design.I had a Viking dishwasher DFB450 (serial # 031109D00003895 & 031109D00003878) installed on 7/14/2009. I have two of them. First, the technology in the motherboard creates more problems than the benefits. After trying to reset the dishwashers by holding down the buttons (in manual), I can only get it to work occasionally. I do not know of too many people that enjoy pulling out the manual to decipher the many error codes your dishwasher has. There has got to be a better way to let the customer know what to do when an error light flashes. At least once per month, I have to flip the circuit breaker to each dishwasher to reset it. This cost me $75 for an appliance technician to show me this. I have never had this issue with the other seven brands I have owned. There is no indicator light to let you know the dishes have been cleaned (i.e., green light next to the blue running light). Since the dishwashers do not clean well all the time, we rinse our dishes off before putting them in the dishwasher and we end up running them again. Enclosed is a plastic clip that snaps in and holds a wire shelf for long spoons, knives, etc. All four clips are the same design thus preventing a snug fit causing the shelf to constantly fall/come undone. One of my clips broke (clip in itself is a bad design) and guess how much your company wanted to charge me to replace it? You can’t buy the clip. You have to buy the entire rack for $360 plus tax and shipping. You talk about putting the screws to your customer. Would you be happy if your clip broke and you could not replace it for a reasonable price? After about an hour on the phone with customer service, they finally authorized a new rack to be sent to me. How much did that cost you for the part and an angry customer? There is another plastic part (U- shaped) that snaps on to the right side of the dishwasher that also continually falls off. Again, this is what I would expect from the cheap brands, not a Viking. My two and a half year old dishwasher (031109000003895) needs a new heater/wire harness (part#016403-000/P870612). This is something that is not needed by most dishwashers until much later in their life cycle (never had this issue with any of my previous 7 dishwashers including the one we owned in Texas for nearly 10 years). Also, when the non-Viking technician came out to look at my problem (popping the circuit breaker), he noticed a wire that had been crimped badly which he thought was the cause to the circuit popping. After running the dishwasher and watching until it popped, it was determined that the heater was bad. Was the poor quality (crimped wire) the reason my heater went out? After arguing with your customer service department, I am having a Viking technician (Lakeview) come out to tell me why the wire is crimped and how it would affect other parts to my dishwasher. Unless he is a certified electric engineer, his word is not any better than the other technician. Unless this is covered by Viking, I am being given a $500 price to fix it. Before I throw that kind of money at a Viking product, I will replace it with another brand. Lakeview fixed the issue prior to me sending you this letter. Covered by Viking because of a bad harness. My last dishwasher of 10 years was a KitchenAid and I never had it serviced. We used it every day not every other day (have two) like this dishwasher.Viking 6 burner stove with griddle VGRC6056GDSS (Serial # 050609C00015117) installed 7/14/2009 - First time I used the griddle, one side did not heat up and one of the control knobs did not work. Viking replaced both. The convection switch keeps popping out due to a poor design. Should have a nut on the backside to hold it in place instead of a cheap plastic catch. My wife and daughters were baking Christmas cookies in 2009 and had to open the windows (Chicago) to cool down the kitchen. After looking at the stove, I noticed one oven door stuck out more than the other one. A non-Viking technician came out and replaced the hinges and made other adjustments. We have not had that problem again when baking Christmas Cookies. I won’t even touch on the clicking noise from burners not in use and the sound of the gas being blown-sounds like wind in the oven blowing out the flame. Again, this gets back to my letters theme - this is what I expect from a cheap brand not a $13,000 Viking product. After reading hundreds of blogs on the internet, I have a feeling the worst is yet to come. My last stove and oven (10 years) was a Jenn-Air and I never had it serviced. The hinges of my Viking refrigerator DFSB483 (serial # 051508R00010392) replaced to support the custom wood covers. If Viking is going to sell a refrigerator with custom built in capabilities, your R&D team should have accounted for weight greater than the heaviest wood cover. Heavy-duty hinges should have been the norm not the afterthought. My wife left Warming Drawer DFWD101 (serial number hidden behind custom cover) on high for three days and it caused the custom wood cover to separate where it had been glued ($100 replacement). I realized that leaving the warmer on was my wife’s fault. However, your R&D department should have realized that a custom cover would hide the control knob, thus out of sight, out of mind. My last warming drawer had a timer which shut off the unit after a period of time. I ended up getting thermal heat foil and placing it between the warming drawer and the custom cover. I assure you that it will not be the last time my wife or other Viking customers leave the warming drawer on. Again, with the amount of money the Viking warming drawer cost versus other brands, your customers should not have to worry about these things. I would not have purchased the drawer if it wasn’t for the discount we received by buying all Viking. I had a feeling this purchase would come back and bite me and it did to the tune of $100 and a lot of legwork to get the cover fixed and prevent future issues.Viking Microwave DMOS200 (Serial # 05772W205079) - Over heated and caused the glass plate to break and the tri-wheels to melt. I replaced the glass plate and the Tri wheels for around $30 but the turn motor was destroyed. Viking replaced the motor at no cost to me. The problem was due to a sensor not responding to the issue. I was told by the technician that there were several sensors. We were lucky we caught it before a fire broke out. Is this a quality control issue or a fluke? I have no issues with my Viking Dishwasher DFVD042 to date because we hardly use it. It’s in the basement bar and we use it two to six times a year.As for the Viking customer service, after spending a lot of time on the phone with your customer service about the enclosed part, I was told that Viking would send me a new rack at no cost. Three weeks went by and I called customer service again. I was told that an Email was sent to Lakeview. I called Lakeview and they had no record of the email. I called back customer service and they informed me that they would resend the request. The next day, I called Lakeview and they still had no record of the request. I called your customer service again and had them copy me on the third request (which I never received). The whole point is that I had to do all the follow up, do your employees job and waste my time (not to mention Lakeview’s). Your customer service team should have put me on hold or a conference call and resolved this issue on the spot.I called customer service about the heater element on my dishwasher and they gave me the cookie cutter response that it was out of warranty. I explained the crimped wire and all the other issues I had with Viking products and that I was very upset because I would have to pay a Viking technician to come out to dispute the observation of a reliable technician that I used and had already paid for. I was told that Lakeview would call me to set up an appointment. After not hearing from Lakeview for 30 plus hours, I called your customer service again to find out when I could expect a call (I needed it fixed with Christmas coming up and knowing I was going to have lots of guests). I was informed to call Lakeview directly. Again, an already unhappy customer was asked to do your employees job and waste more of my time. After leaving a message with Lakeview to call me, I received a call 60 hours after I had my initial call to your customer service department. After talking with your customer service department, I get the feeling they are there to do a 9-5 job and after they hit send, they are relieved from all obligations related to that call. There is no sense of urgency to take care of an irate customer. Maybe this is the norm within Vikings customer service department because the internet blogs and the issues I have with my purchases tell me you have a lot of irate customers. Lake view does a good job.As you can see, I have had to deal with several issues concerning your products. To say the least, I am a very unhappy customer and will be very reluctant to buy another Viking Product. I am also informing everyone I know about the Viking quality and customer service issues. I wrote this letter in hopes that you are not aware of the quality issues your brand is having as well as the lack of vision by your R&D department. I just don’t understand why your company would risk the loss of customers over the cheap parts you are designing and putting on your expensive products. Being an owner of a company myself, I just don’t get it. Below is Viking response, a couple of generic I- am-sorry letters:Both dishwashers have been fixed since these letters at a cost of approx $200 each (motherboard went out on one-labor only, rubber gasket came off the other parts/labor). There should be no reason a rubber gasket comes off on a $1700 dishwasher. Also, the icemakers water line froze and was replaced with a better one. How long have icemakers been sold to the consumer?

I wanted upscale appliances and I wanted to buy American. I had a general knowledge of the Viking brand and I liked the products themselves. They were really pretty. I got a solid chef kind of a range. It was very attractive. It has good features and layout of the burners. But the range had a number of issues along the way. The last issue was the ignition wasn’t working in the oven. The repair people were prompt. They were good.

We have a 2 year old Viking range that unfortunately required service. We called Viking and they gave us 2 companies that they recommended. Oceanic Repair was one of them. Not to sound silly but living by the water made me choose them over the other one. They did such a great job I wanted to let others know. They went through all of our appliances with us, I feel like we got a lesson instead of a service call. I saw a lot of bad press about Viking, I no longer agree with most of it. We now understand the reasons why our range was built as it is and now that were are using it with our new found understanding, our level of joy has gone through the roof. I wanted a Viking range for decades, so every time I looked at commercial-type ranges, it was usually either Viking or Wolf. But, Viking has always been the commercial style range that I wanted, but I put it off for years and years because I wanted the double oven size with six burners. Then I realized that to get the one I wanted, it would involve remodeling half of my kitchen to make space for it. So, I finally decided that, instead of putting it off because of that, Im just going to get the 30-inch one, so it would fit into the existing space. And so I did and Im happy. I bought ours at Colders, a furniture store, and I worked with someone who specializes in Viking ranges. It is an authorized dealer.Ive always had electric ranges my whole life. And one of the things that I havent liked in the past about gas ranges is the gas oven. Id prefer an electric oven and a gas stovetop. And now that they make dual-fuel ranges that are the perfect answer for me. Also, I just like the ruggedness of it. The hole that you put the pots on, theyre like army tanks. Theyre big, heavy, iron grates that are just so well-built. And the whole thing is heavy-duty that can last a lifetime. I like the simplicity of it, too. The electric range that I replaced was all digital. It had all kinds of extra digital features that I never used. This one has mechanical knobs, and everything works perfectly. However, the caveat is theyre expensive. So, you really have to be dedicated to cooking. If they were cheaper, I would have bought two. You really have to want that kind of a range before you are willing to spend that much money. Other than that, from the performance and quality of the Viking, it is 5-star all the way. It would be my top recommendation for a commercial range.

I am very disappointed with my Viking gas range (2 years old). Although it is quite beautiful, it does not function well. It smells of gas anytime the oven is on at 350 degrees or less. No one will repair it. I have had the gas company out to check on it. They said that the odor is very unfortunate, but it is not leaking enough to be unsafe. I used to enjoy the aroma of bread baking. I hate my beautiful, expensive range. I do not recommend purchasing a Viking product.

We had Viking in the past. It was something we became accustomed to and it really never gave us a bunch of problems. We decided to stay with something that we like and we got a Viking range. The Viking dealer was great. He was helpful, showed us the different products and features, and led us in the right direction. Our range is really nice, and I really like its portable griddle top.

Do not buy Viking Appliances! Our stove and refrigerator have both needed service of major parts from day one. Viking customer service was helpful with my stove with 3 issues in the last 5 years. Now our refrigerator doesnt work. No repair place will work on Viking and guarantee parts. Reaching out to Viking for a certified Viking repair place, its taken 6 days with follow-up every day on my part for them to finally refer me to a company that wants $200 just to come out to look for the first 1/2 hour and charging additional per half hour. This does not include repairs or parts. If it takes a second trip, I pay another $200 trip charge. Viking has such poor products and you the customer will be paying for it with your time, money, and inconvenience... Very disappointed.

We couldnt get anybody to wait on us in the Vikings dealer close to where we live, so we went elsewhere. Its nothing against Viking, because this is a place weve been buying appliances for 30 years, and normally, when you would go in there, they would always greet you and ask you what you wanted help with. However, in this particular time we went in, we just got ignored. So we ended up buying at the closest dealer listed on the Vikings website that we felt had really good customer service and it was indeed really good. Im satisfied with the quality of the range and I like its usability particularly the fact that my wife can use the oven and all four burners at the same time. Its been a joy to cook on.

My stove had a manufacturing defect and failed to work properly from the outset. The oven would not hold a temperature and could not be calibrated. It took weeks and many, many phone calls and threats to get it repaired. After many requests and escalation to Viking customer relations, Viking finally agreed to send the necessary part by overnight mail. However, they did not make good on this promise. The part did not arrive for another week. We were exceedingly unhappy with the initial defect and with the very poor customer service. We liked the look of Viking and their reputation as well so we went with them. Were not so thrilled with the double wall oven but the refrigerator is awesome. The quality is excellent and this is probably the best refrigerator weve ever owned. Its so easy to navigate in there. You can see and reach everything. But the ice maker could be improved. The bin that the ice goes into should be raised in the back so that the ice falls to the front. Im always winding up with ice all over the floor and on the inside of the freezer because it builds up then theres no way to open the freezer without the ice falling over like a deck of cards. Other than that, weve had a fairly good experience so far.

Viking has been around for a while. We knew about the quality when we chose it. The rep was very knowledgeable and had a lot of experience, but it probably came down to when we knew about the really good price on which we got it. The quality of the range is okay although its not as well-thought-through as we might have thought it would be. The inability to effectively clean it is the most disappointing part of it. The technician who came out and serviced it knew what he was doing. He once said this is a known issue, and it just came with the range. We purchased a newly built home and had all Viking appliances installed. The range puts out good heat but the oven is definitely malfunctioning. It cycles every minute no matter what temperature you set it to so if I am baking something that takes 2 hours, Ill hear the igniter click and the flame come on over 100 times. I dont know if its because the flame is reigniting so often but the smell of gas is so strong. Also, the door gets so hot you cant even touch it without wearing an oven mitt. All of these make me afraid to use the oven. I called Viking and theyve sent out the same repair person twice who told me that the cycling every minute is normal and the door is supposed to get hot because heat radiates. I understand heat radiates but it shouldnt get so hot you can burn yourself. What happens if children accidentally get close to the oven? I also dont understand why for a supposed high end oven, the temperature cant be maintained for more than a minute when the flame goes out before it reignites again. And since its cycling every minute no matter what temp you set it to and regardless if you leave the oven door closed for 2 hours (yes, we tested it with the door closed for 2 hours to make sure we werent losing heat from opening the door), it doesnt seem like the cycling is temperature related at all. When I call Viking, they tell me this is NOT normal and a repair person needs to come out to make adjustments. Theyve sent the same repair person twice who insists this is normal. I called again today and asked for a different company. The same person has been scheduled to come out tomorrow, wholl likely tell me again that this is what I have to get use to with this oven. This oven is a hazard. Youll either be afraid to use it or youll end up burning yourself or inhaling carbon monoxide fumes. I had to turn the oven off yesterday because I got a terrible headache from the fumes. I am writing this to advise everyone to not buy a Viking. Also, now it is documented that these issues existed in the event something bad happens.

My husband and I remodeled and bought the Professional side by side in 2006. We had it replaced due to a dent in it and the ice machine not working in 2008 by warranty. The replacement had issues too. We have replaced the ice container a couple of times for $300 ea. Now its broken and it will cost $500. We noticed that there were 2 screws that are missing. It has been worked on but not sure if it was factory or labor issue. Plus water dispenser doesnt work. That’s been worked on too. Recently cleaning the fridge out, I noticed cracks on the inside of the door unit. The drawers are all broken. We replaced a couple of them about two years ago for $100 ea. Broken again. The fridge still works, but the breakage is not good.We had a refrigerator for over 20 yrs prior to this that still worked and had no problems. Buyers remorse? Probably. I have pictures showing the issuer cracks inside of the unit. By the way, my hubby and I are senior citizens and take care of our things. I would love to be able to send my concerns to the company with pictures.

Consumers BEWARE. Viking products are overrated and no better than buying a cheap brand. We purchased a Viking Built-in Microwave Hood (VMOR506) and Viking Range (model # VDER5304BSS), installed November 6, 2018. After just TWO weeks use (Nov 22), the microwave and vent QUIT WORKING. Finally SIX weeks later (Jan 2, 2019) the microwave was repaired. The range also needed repair... but lucky us... that was just the external decorative lighting. Throughout the process, the Viking Customer Service has not been helpful. We are told company policy is NO replacement unless the product breaks down consistently and that we should view the repaired product as a NEW microwave. The Viking message is simple: we sell you a defective product and made our profit. Meanwhile you get to wait 6 weeks for the repair (no microwave, no vent, no convection oven) and hope that the repair indeed makes it like new. And if it fails again after the one year warranty is up...well thats the consumers problem.

I have had my Viking built in side by side for one year -- I chose Viking thinking it was a quality product. It is NOT -- the items on the top shelf the refrigerator ice up, the items in the freezer frost up and at six months a new part had to be installed in the freezer compressor. It was defective and froze the whole compressed up -- we had to move everything to a cheap Kenmore freezer which has worked for years to keep until the part came in and the repair was made. Now 3 months later it is doing the same thing. This is either a defective unit or Viking is making junk and charging a lot for it. Next step for us is to demand a replacement for this side by side and if they wont do that we will sue for a refund! Sad that this brand has become junk!

Ive always known about Viking Refrigerators for a long time and it was in the house that we purchased. There was a Viking Range, a Viking refrigerator, and a stove then. I was replacing an existing Viking refrigerator that was about 17 or 18 years old. It was built-in so I was looking for something that would fit into the exact space where it was. And when I went to the appliance store, the salesperson at the appliance store steered me to Viking. I was buying a refrigerator and a dryer that day and he showed me something else but he strongly suggested the Viking and since I didn’t have any negative feelings about Viking, I went with it. This refrigerator will be the third refrigerator and the first one kept having problems. It would freeze up and the icemaker wouldn’t work. The refrigerator section would heat up to about 43 degrees and the freezer would get down incredibly cold. I had six service calls on it and finally, the service guy said, “I think we need to get this thing replaced.” So Viking replaced it after several weeks and sent a new one out to Asien’s Appliance here in Santa Rosa and they delivered it. However, the guys that delivered it couldn’t align the doors properly. The refrigerator section was about half inch or a bit lower. The door was lower than the freezer side so I called the people that handle the warranty repairs again and the guy came out and looked at it. He said that there was something wrong with it and maybe it was dropped. He couldn’t fix it and jury-rigged it so the door worked. For a while, the door wouldn’t even close but then he worked on it again and he got the door to close by taking some part out. I got word that Viking set up a delivery of a replacement for that one. This will be the third one and hopefully, it will be okay. I wouldn’t recommend them to a friend but at least Viking is faithfully standing by their warranty.

Everything with Viking range is beautiful and works great, but there’s a couple of things we’re concerned about, that aren’t working right. The racks in the oven are not lined up right. It’s very hard to move them in and out. It’s almost like they’re too narrow for the track, like they’re lopsided. It’s weird. And I got the microwave oven, the drawer one, to go with the stove and a part of it looks warped. But other than that, it’s perfect. I love it. They were installed last end of July. I love how it performs and it’s very easy to clean. The only thing, the burner size itself is very broad, so some of my pots, the heat comes more to the side versus the center. I wish it was adjustable, like the circle for the burner where the gas comes out. I wish they were able to do some smaller and some bigger, depending on what pot size I had.

It doesnt have a water dispenser. I had expected a refrigerator with water dispenser, but apparently, Viking doesn’t make those anymore. I also would like to have a doorstop. The way the refrigerator is installed, it is very close to the oven handle, and if I open it down there, it hits the refrigerator door and puts a dent. So, I have to be careful. If it could have a doorstop that I could adjust and limit the opening of the door, that would help.

We bought a home and had the full line of Viking appliances put in the home. The dishwasher has broken down roughly 6 times in 4 1/2 years of use with a family of 4. The worst part is that once it breaks down it takes about a week to get a service tech to your home and EVERY TIME Viking needs to order parts. Parts take 4-6 weeks to arrive!!! So every time the Viking dishwasher breaks down we have no dishwasher for about a month to a month and half. So in 4 1/2 years our Viking dishwasher has been off of service for about 6 months. Customer service will not help and you CANNOT get transferred to a supervisor. Viking rep REFUSES to transfer us for additional help. I have NEVER seen such poor service with any company let alone one with appliances at the high price point of Viking. The plastic in the refrig cracks and has been replaced 3-4 times in 4 years!! We moved into a new house and wanted to get a new cooking range. We bought one from Viking, which is our second Viking range, and its all gas. Its the smallest of the 500 series and 30 inches in size. I like the way it works for the most part and the fact that it doesn’t have a lot of electronics on the front. The soft-closed door and the roller-bearing shelves are nice, too. The quality of our new range is pretty good. However, we’ve had two real and serious issues in the last six weeks that we’ve owned it. The first problem was that the cooling fan had a bad bearing. It was making a total racket and it was an issue right out of the box. But Kimball Electronics, one of Vikings factory authorized dealers, was able to replace the cooling fan. The second issue was that the oven would not light and it was very temperamental about getting the spark for the oven. But Kimball Electronics fixed that this week by putting in a new orifice where the gas comes into the oven and adjusting the air so the spark could ignite without spreading gas all over the kitchen. Kimbal Electroniics have been great and so far, we have been very pleased with Viking. We have been for many years and with our new range. We got the dishwasher special with that as well and the dishwasher has been good, too.

From the day my refrigerator was installed, it didnt work. The temperature was always above 45 degrees. A repairman was sent to my house 12 times between April 2008 and May 2009. Then miraculously, a different guy came and it seemed worked for 14 months. To this day, I do not know how one guy fixed it in 10 minutes when another guy came 11 times, spent hours and still couldnt fix it. When I voiced this concern, the company accused me of saying the guy did something unethical. So I let it go. A huge mistake. Now, the same old problem is back. I had to agree to pay for the service call and parts which I did. The tech guy recommended certain parts. The repair guy never used those parts instead, he installed a part for $165.00 which was already replaced twice. It cost me $404.00 and the refrigerator is once again not working. Temperature is above 45 degrees. So now what? Junk a $6000.00 refrigerator? I continue to pay for service calls that should have been taken care of when the refrigerator was installed. This is a black hole. No way out. Viking service is terrible. They do not back their products. Do not buy Viking.

Ive used Viking Ranges in the last 2-3 houses that Ive owned over the years. During the first purchase, I was looking for a commercial type range. I investigated what ranges were available so I looked at consumer ratings and decided to purchase Viking. I never had a problem with the first Viking that I owned. However, I had a problem with quality with the latest one Ive purchased. I had a technician come out for 5-6 times and when we still couldnt get it resolved. I called them and they offered to replace it. I wasnt really that happy with the dealer. I dont know if Id still go back there. I was trying to decide between Viking and another oven. Their oven would take a while to get so I went with the Viking, and it didnt come in as quickly as I had anticipated. Nevertheless, I love it. I have the dual range so I have the electric oven, the gas cooktop and two ovens. I love the convenience of having the two ovens. I have lots of room when I cook big meals. The surface of the stove is great because I have lots of burners that I can use. I also have the big overhead stand and the heat lamps. It makes it a lot easier to cook and I like to cook. Its a great oven for cooking and baking.

This piece of junk is putting Viking products mildly. I threw out the $3,000.00 dishwasher after the fire (in the dishwasher) and bought Miele. I’m thinking of doing the same for this one.

In my last home that I built, we put a Viking range and a hood in it. I did research on it at the time and it was one of the highest rated in Consumer Reports. From experience with it before, I went to purchase another one when I redid my new kitchen. Everything’s been fine with it and I’ve been very pleased. I love everything about the range except two things. The first is the old stove I had had individual grates for each burner and I miss that. With this one, I have a five-burner stove and its got three grates. I would prefer to have each burner have their own grate. Its easier for me when Im cleaning it to be able to lift one of the grates to wipe out the area which needs to be wiped down. The second issue is the knobs. There should be a safety locking device on it for children.

The range that I got from Viking is not very different from the one I had that was 20 years old. It had fewer features though. I used to have a separate grill and a separate griddle. They consolidated them into one area with a pan that flips over and its not quite the same. But the burners are nicer and it’s easier to clean. The top of the stove looks great and the lights are a nice accent. But after that, I had problems. Ive had to call repair services out here three times, so far. They eventually got them fixed. But its strange. I buy a $500 stove that lasted me 10 years and I had no problems. I buy a $15,000 range and within two or three months of owning it, I have to call to get repairs made. It was not what I was expecting. I regret, a little bit, buying the range. I was banking on the American made name and Viking has a long history, but Middleby has purchased them, seeing there have been some changes in quality and how it was working. And the new range manifested this very same issue as the 20-year-old one I replaced started to have towards the end of its lifecycle. So that was unfortunate. Probably, had I done it again, I would have bought a Wolf or some other range instead.

Our neighbor has a Viking refrigerator and I like the appearance. It also seems like they last longer. We bought one through Best Buy and the specific sales person was really good. I like that the fridge has more shelves than usual, but when we had it installed and opened it, the drawers were cracked and I am frustrated with that. It would have also been nice for the fridge to make crushed ice, instead of the big ones.

Im very happy with Viking products. I consider them very good and very well-built. Its very reliable. I had the previous Viking range for eight years and there were no problems at all. Its a very good brand thats why I wanted to have it. However, the process of this particular case of me getting this range on a deal (I found a great deal of a new unpacked range for almost half the price) and the things that followed werent great. I got the range, brought it home, installed it then there were some problems which I reported in my communication with the company. It was quite lengthy to get the proper technician to come and look at it. Theres a whole process that I experienced talking to the company and the company has another company hired for public relations. I got an email from that second company that the issues were being looked at. Then the same second company recommended the local tech but I wasnt happy with the tech that worked initially. The local company that was hired to look at the things that are not functioning reported something that wasnt complete. So, I had to recall the technician and another technician came. They ordered the parts that were malfunctioning and they installed it. The second tech finally solved it but it was about two months of smelling gas and its been quite stressful. The process could be something more straightforward like you talk to the company and get a response from the company. There are no middlemen and no broken chain of relaying the problems that are reported.

I love to cook. My next-door neighbor used to be a head chef for a French restaurant in New York City and she has a Viking. So I was looking at getting one. At the time, I was also looking at Wolf and an Italian stove. But the guy at the Appliances Connection down in New Jersey talked me into buying the Viking. I heard that Viking had some issues back and he convinced me that those issues had been resolved. So I believed him and I bought it. But Ive been frustrated a little bit because it came not working. The small stove would ignite but it would go out and it would keep trying to ignite over and over again. I called Viking and I registered it, but she told me they didnt have anyone who repairs it in our area. I told her my next-door neighbor has a stove and that Id ask her. But the woman said no and never followed through with getting someone to repair it.However, the people I bought this stove from, Appliances Connection, stepped up and found a repairman. They organized the repair and now it is fixed. Im very happy. But someone needs to talk to Vikings service department rep. Other than that, the quality of my Viking range is fantastic and the cooking capacity is awesome. I would recommend it.

When we first got the refrigerator, the bottom of the freezer started filling up with ice. The technician came out. Somehow, in the construction of the refrigerator, all this insulation had been sprayed down the tubes and supposed to drain that stuff out. They replaced the whole refrigerator. But then the bottom of each of the doors of the new refrigerator were all clogged up with the same sort of spray foam insulation. The technician came out again said that the doors needed to be replaced. NOW, Im going on five months waiting for that. Viking is just waiting for the new doors to be manufactured. The refrigerator works, but its not right yet, and I took a five-year extended warranty on it. With this defect, Im wondering if that five-year extended warranty is going to be extended when I finally get a refrigerator that works properly. I wish it was something that could be resolved in a timely manner. I understand people gotta wait for parts, but I bought the refrigerator at the end of December, and Im still waiting for it to be fixed.

We bought a house in 2011 that had a 36 Viking gas range. The kitchen had been remodeled the year before so the appliances were all practically new, and the old owners asked us to pay for them separately. Im so glad we didnt, because this Viking stove is a piece of junk. We have twice had it stop working and it took a long time to get it fixed because the Viking specialists wanted to charge us an arm and a leg just to come look at the appliance. I have never known anyone who has had fuses just stop working on their oven -- this happened to us. Then, we discovered this winter that the igniter was melting onto the burner, which was triggering the whole unit to turn off for safety. This started happening when we were throwing a dinner party and I was trying to cook for 25 people. We got it fixed but it still sometimes doesnt heat up reliably. I would never recommend Viking products based on our experience with this stove. I never know if it will heat up as it should or if I will just have to figure out another way to cook my food. Its been totally horrible.

My wife wanted to get matching appliances in our new kitchen, so we got Viking Refrigerator to match with our French door oven. I like the control panel on the inside of the door of the refrigerator with the display, temperatures, and the different controls. Pacific Sales was my dealer and they were very friendly and helpful. Overall, the experience has been good. However, I was a bit disappointed with the issue of the refrigerator and it happened after a year, so it was just out of warranty. Before the Christmas break, I opened the fridge one morning and noticed it was warm. It continued to get warm and got up to about 65 in the fridge and well above freezing in the freezer. I placed a service call with a local company Pacific Sales recommended. They told me to reset the power. It didn’t really make any difference that day, then the next day, I checked again and noticed the fridge was working. I kept my eye on it and its been working ever since.

The Viking refrigerator size fits really well into the already pre-sized area for a refrigerator in the house I purchased and the range was packaged with it. And Ive cooked on the ranges before and they were good so I decided to buy one. But when I got it, it was broken and it took them about a month to repair it. The problem was the two of the valves werent working. So if I had the gas on on the stove, it was constantly leaking gas so we had to keep the gas off all the time.Vikings preferred vendor that they hooked up with me was just a nightmare. So everything just took a long time. Like the parts took a long time to come in so they took a long time to come. But they were able to have it fixed last week. It took them a week to come out and look at it, and then it took them almost two weeks for the part to come in. And then it took them another week to come and actually fix it.But The customer service woman I spoke to was really nice. Shed provided me with tracking update and would call the company. I think its just a matter of them getting a more reliable, certified Viking repair specialist because when you have to rely on one place, locally that doesnt seem to make your priority, that can get a little frustrating. But other than that, Viking themselves seemed to be pretty good in terms of their customer service, like being responsive to me. But if you spend almost $6,000 on a stove, it should probably come to your house working. And then your customer service is only as good as the people you have working with you, and partnering with you and I didnt think it was wonderful.

The Viking Pro dishwasher we had was recalled because the heater would start fires, apparently about 20 of them! So they sent a tech to fix it - that took 3 months! So we washed dishes by hand. Then after they supposedly fixed the dishwasher it would give error codes like flooding, but it was not doing that it just would stop mid cycle - sometimes. So they came again after much complaining and could not fix it and suggested it MIGHT be a control board problem. Even though when they ran diagnostics there was nothing found to be broken. It was clear to me that fixing the heater problem caused the machine to randomly stop, yet they refused to fix it. Viking wanted to charge me for a new controller board so adding $400 to a unit I already do not trust. Clearly if it worked before they took it apart and replaced the wiring harness and heater then something they did during the repair broke something else!

My wife first heard of Viking Refrigerators, and we went with them for the price of the unit, the model we purchased and the brands reputation. The team at the Viking dealer was very helpful and delivery was done on time. The style and the temperature settings are nice. However, I dont know if Viking was worth the money we paid for. Weve had less expensive brands in the past that worked as well or had fewer issues than weve had with it. It should be more reliable for its price. The water dispenser is leaking and the ice dispenser has been replaced twice since we purchased the Viking refrigerator. Also, the approved service provider that was recommended on Vikings website was terrible. They came on April 17th, ordered several parts and then they communicated but there hasnt been anything done. They said they havent gotten the parts in yet or they are not sure if theyve gotten the parts in yet. Im having to contact them to follow up, and theyre not calling me despite our verbal agreement. When selecting our refrigerator, we went on Vikings reputation. Also, my husbands in interior design and that was also part of the reason why we chose Viking as opposed to a GE product, which we have at another house. However, we are a little disappointed with Viking. We’ve had the refrigerator for less than a year and all this stuff started happening right around a month’s time. We were having problems with the ice maker and when I called Viking repair service, they put in a service call. Somebody came out but didn’t really do anything other than change the ice maker. He said that it should be working within 24 hours but it still is not. They came for a second service call after that. The contractors follow-up was not up to what I think Viking would expect from their name though. Ive had to follow up twice with the service repair people to find out what was going on with my refrigerator. They have been telling me that they needed to order another ice maker and a different part but based on the recent weather in the Southeast, it was being delayed. There are also other things that I have to have the repair person look at. We have a bottom refrigerator and the door clicks every time we hold the door open. Other than that, I had received a part that is supposed to be on one of the doors so that you can have butter or whatever else you want to use in a climate-controlled environment. But it doesn’t fit in there and nobody that I’ve called at Viking has been able to give me an answer on how to have it fit. But other than that, we like the refrigerator, me probably more so than my husband.

I have had a Series 3 gas range for less than 2 years & have had nothing but problems with the oven. When I first got it, it sounded like it was sucking air. The temp is always 25-50 degrees lower than the temp dial indicated. I ran the self-clean cycle twice & both times the door wouldnt unlock after the oven cooled down. I have had parts replaced multiple times. Most recently the main control panel was replaced so I figured all would work fine but it is worse than before. Now the oven lights, the fan comes on, the light to indicate the clean cycle is finished comes on (I wasnt running a clean cycle), the fan turns off & the oven shuts off so now I have no functioning oven at all. When I called for service it would take at least 10 days for the tech to come out... Guess they only have 1 service guy. Finally heard from Viking who said they will replace my range but the replacement range is a downgrade (does not have the self-clean feature). That is not acceptable so theyll give me store credit. The dealer has nothing available in black, w/ self-clean option in the same price range as the Viking. So if I get a different brand & dont use all of the store credit, I forfeit the unused amount. That is not acceptable. The dealer has an I dont care attitude.I have told both the dealer & Viking that at this point I will only be happy with a refund. Talked to Lindy at Viking on 10/24 & had no response w/in 24 hours so called again on 10/26. Got the impression she had done nothing about my request. She told me shed call me on 10/27 in the morning but I have had no call back. I called Viking & was told a VP has to review and they will get back to me hopefully within the hour or tomorrow morning. Unbelievable that a company with their reputation would be so difficult to work with. Their product stinks! Their response time stinks! Their attitude stinks! I will never recommend Viking to anybody.

Bought a Viking that never ran properly, parts broke, mother board changed 3 times. Company agreed to replace but we had to pay up half the value. Then the replacement broke down, mother board, in less than 9 months and finally got replaced again. 2 months into owning it broke down!!! We are told no mother boards out there to replace with - back ordered. So we bought a defective Viking at full price the first time then had it replaced and paid another $5000+ so now our investment total about 16,000$ plus time spent away from work for repair guys to come and fix numerous times per year plus horrible costumer service. One repair company purported to order a part and we paid for it and never got it. They disappeared. Worst product ever!!!! DO NOT BUY A VIKING FRIDGE! My refrigerator has leaked for 10 months. I have a side-by-side freezer and refrigerator each freestanding unit, but they are mounted in together. My freezer was reinstalled crooked, and now I’m waiting to hear back from Viking to get it adjusted and installed correctly. I first reported the incident with my original refrigerator in July of 2018. It took me 10 months and 11 service calls to get my unit replaced, and many windows of times waiting for someone to come and service it as recent as yesterday because my Viking refrigerator and my Viking freezer had two different badges on them -- the tag on it that says Viking. One says Viking Professional, and it’s 2x4 inches large, and the other one is 1 inch by 2, 3 inches wide, so they dont match. They sent someone out to fix the badges, and the repairperson was not able to because of the badge that was sent. So, I took time out of my day to be home during my service window, only for him to tell me, “Sorry, I can’t do anything for you. You’ll have to call again.” I would tell others to buy a Sub-Zero instead.

I liked how the Viking products were built. They seemed very sturdy and the quality was very good. I love the high powered burner. Theres one thats super high power so I can boil water really fast. But recently the timer broke on my range. I called the repairman who found damage to the door. The range was working fine but this was something that couldnt be repaired so it was a big deal. He then contacted his Viking rep but afterwards they sent me an entirely new range and covered the installation. They were no longer making the model that I had, so I ended up with an upgrade and I didnt have to pay for a thing. I was blown away. The issue with the timers is that when the oven is heated up really high for cleaning, that destroyed the timer mechanism. The ranges dont come with a timer anymore and they had improved the range since I got mine in 2012. They sell a kit in case peoples timers go out. But what they did for me was amazing. We purchased the high end Viking Double French Door Oven model VDOF730SS approximately 16 months ago. Right away we noticed that the lower oven door did not close properly. Just walking past it could jar it a bit and cause the light to come on. Viking had a repairman come out and replace the hinges (this was a brand new oven mind you), but it did not alleviate the issue. We put off requesting another repair but the warranty is only for 2 years, so we recently requested another repair. The repairman called this morning and said Viking had informed them that our warranty had expired. Our registration plainly states 2 years, and weve only had it for 16 months. Viking is overpriced garbage. The larger oven bottom metal has warped badly. The stove top burners are hard to auto light. The middle griddle has had a temperature control problem since new and now barely heats up. The fridge/freezer condensation drip pan on the bottom overflows every other month. I believe this is because they tried to not use an electric heater for evaporation to save electricity but it is an energy pig anyways. I changed the ice maker which now works fine because it isnt made by Viking. The through the door ice dispenser has never worked consistently even after being replaced. Viking has been a long-standing name. I’ve remodeled my kitchen and Viking is one of the models that we looked to buy, and we ended up purchasing the whole package, including the dishwasher, fridge, stove, the 36-inch. We love the stove and the dishwasher. We are having a slight issue with the stove, and we’re waiting for a call back from somebody to come and take a look at it. The refrigeration, as far as how cold it is, it’s been great. Our initial experience was not good though. The refrigerator came with a big wave, a number of waves, and not really dents. The initial response to my request was kind of flawed a little bit, and I didn’t know if that was so much at the manufacturer or it was the person the we purchased it from or the company we purchased it from.Viking said they would replace the door and I said it was not just a door and it was three doors. After some photos and back and forth, it was eventually replaced. So, I’m happy. I love the style and design. On each side of the door, there’s a lower part for drinks. It pivots and it kind of goes in and out a tiny bit. There’s a shelf that you can lean towards you, and I think it’s for small drinks. I just think that could be a tiny bit bigger. I do like the shelf and we didn’t even know it existed. I didn’t read the whole book when I got it. And you can tuck the one-half of the shelf back so you could fit a taller bottle in there. We have started using that. That’s a nice feature.

Bought a brand newly built house with all new Viking appliances. The first week we owned the house, the doors on the appliance needed to be repaired. Then we had an electric short due to the range needing to be required. Approximately after 1 month of ownership, the defroster in the freezer died causing the refrigerator to shut down. We had to manually defrost the freezer every day for over a week before we had a functioning refrigerator. In August, 6 months after installation, the lights in the freezer stopped working. 3 months later, 4 service calls later, we were told the lights couldnt be repaired. Even heard the Viking tech tell the service guy on the phone there was nothing more he could do. Oh yeah, sometime between August and Nov, the ice maker died. So we have a very expensive attractive piece of garbage that isnt as good as our LG that was less than 1/3 the cost. We would like a refund in order to purchase a different appliance but do not expect that. A replacement is being requested.

Friends who had Viking in the past had good things to say. But it was the quality and the nice looks of it that made me decide to go with them. However, I was surprised that the hinges on the door had to be replaced so soon. The oven is about three and a half years and their warranty was only three years. The dealer was great though. When they called, they were engaged and got back to me right away. The oven is great. It has a good temperature and it feels very durable. Overall, I had a good experience with Viking. Ill definitely call them again if I ever should.

I own a Viking range and I use them for customers. When I built a new home, they were clearing out at the Ferguson showroom and there was a Viking and a Thermador. The Thermador was under warranty in a matter of a year and that was good. It was a 48-inch, it went through bolts and boards, and it went through the heating element. So it went through a lot and to me, that was not great. Its convection also had a huge loud sound and I didnt like that at all. On the other hand, the Viking was very quiet and I really liked it a lot better. So I gave it a shot and purchased it online. I could have gone through the dealer in Salt Lake, but I would have had to pay taxes. If I had to do it again, though, Id probably go with the dealer thats close because I had to return one item and it has been a real pain. At first, they told me that they were not going to take the part back. But it was still in the box and we couldnt install the back part because there wasnt enough room. And we didnt know that until we got the back part. Then, they said they would take it back, but I had to ship it back and it was a double package so it would cost $75 to ship it. It also took forever for them to acknowledge they got it and when they said they have issued the credit, I still hadnt seen it. Overall, I love Viking and its various simmers. Its a beautiful stove and it works great. Its also functional and very effective. Its commercial great, too, so its worth the money. But I really wanted to get certain features and to get them, I had to keep upgrading. Then, when we moved, I had to downgrade to a 30-inch. So, that was hard when I had the nice, big double ovens. They should also make the colored ones cheaper so I could get the beautiful cobalt blue or the red one. I love the easy glide over rack as well and I want to know where to purchase it.

The ice machine in our Viking Refrigerator doesnt work. Ive had a service technician out because its still under warranty but they cant get the parts. They cant even confirm when theyre going to fix it. I’ve known Viking products for years. In fact, all of our appliances are Viking. We got the lower end model of refrigerator. Im not an expert on refrigeration, but I dont think that its up to par with other units at its price range. Their upper end models may be totally different but the ice maker design of this unit is not good and it needs to be changed. We cant pull the drawer out because the bearings had gone bad. So, the ice making location or the way it works is not good. Now, I cant even get parts for it but the parts are backlogged. They said its going to take over a month to six weeks to get them. They need to keep these parts in inventory. I can understand if theyre not readily available that day but I hope we could get them within a week. Six weeks is ridiculous. They cant even confirm when theyre going to get the parts, and theyre saying hopefully by Thanksgiving which is not good.

Totally disappointed with their service. We are retired. My husband is Vietnam veteran suffering exposure to Agent Orange so the oven is an integral part of our meal preparations. We had a service technician evaluate the problem which was faulty oven door hinges. We asked Viking service could they give us any assistance in covering some of the cost of the hinges or possibly the installation cost. We were told, No. That it is not our policy and we were on our own. As good as this stove has been, I would never buy another Viking product again. I caution anyone considering purchasing their products.

Purchased top of the line Viking fridge for 10K 3 years ago and about 9 months after purchase the crisper drawers were collapsing down onto the bottom shelf of the refrigerator making about half the fridge unusable. Viking sent out their service company and changed the middle shelf which the crisper drawers hang from and changed the slider brackets. Worked fine for about 3-4 months and then the same thing happened again. Viking came out and changed the parts again with exactly the same type of parts. Worked fine for about 4-5 months and then the drawers started collapsing down again when you would open a drawer. Well this went on for 3 more additional services and I think at about the 3rd or fourth service Viking said the fridge was out of warranty! LOL!I informed them that you cant replace defective parts with the same exact defective parts until the warranty runs out and then say the fridge is out of warranty. So they sent a repair company back out who charged me $149.00 to look at the crisper drawers laying at the bottom of the fridge and said yep theyre broke and left. Then they sent a different service company out and they changed the parts again and again it failed after several months. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and I rigged a plastic spacer and thick brass washer behind the middle shelf to kind of wedge the crisper drawers in place. That has held up but was only suppose to be a temporary fix until Viking came up with a permanent solution. Kim from Middlebery that owns the Viking brand said they are working on it, that was back in February and now its radio silence 3 months later. Kim asked me at that time do I want them to come out and fix the shelf till the engineers come up with a solution. I said no my Rig is working so far and no sense having Viking come out and waste both our time and money installing more defective parts. Well no good deed goes unpunished cause it looks like Im stuck with my fancy refrigerator being rigged up so that its functional. And oh by the way the crisper drawers are now all cracked and the sliders broken from falling down so many times. This is frustrating, embarrassing and not right, to spend ten thousand dollars on whats suppose to be a superior brand and have it fall apart and get no company support! Our KitchenAid fridge lasted 20 years and we could have bought the exact replacement for 2 k less! But we wanted to upgrade but instead got a tremendous downgrade. If you want a built in stick with Sub Zero. Thats why my son in law Vince The Builder only uses Sub Zero in his multi multi million dollar homes he builds. He will soon be doing a video of my fridge for his 200K instagram followers to show his clients why he wont use Viking appliances. I hope this saves the next person from going thru the same ordeal as me.

We purchased all new Viking Appliances from Pacific Sales in Santa Barbara.
We purchased all new Viking Appliances from Pacific Sales in Santa Barbara. Within 1 year we threw out the Viking dishwasher and replaced it with a Bosch. Within 5 years we had about a dozen services on the Viking built-in refrigerator due to leaking water and icing up in the freezer. We are extremely disappointed with Viking products. We spent about $1500 on the dishwasher and $7,300 on the refrigerator. I would strongly discourage anyone from buying Viking products. We are about to buy a new refrigerator and it certainly will NOT be a Viking and we will not be buying our refrigerator from Pacific Sales due to their lack of customer support. Not only that but when Pacific Sales originally delivered the appliances their truck smashed a wall in our entry driveway. It took us a couple of months and many complaints to multiple levels of management to get them to fix the wall - and after all of our efforts they would only pay for half of the damages.

The Viking Range makes me feel like a Master Chef... In 30 years and many gas ranges, this is the best range we have ever had. We had a minor service problem with our grill and gas broiler which was immediately taken care of without charge. The service department was by far the best Ive dealt with in my experiences with other companies. We are going to be moving soon and I will get another Viking - The Best Gas Range Ever!!!

Ive had 20 years of experience with Viking before and never had a problem with it. Its quality and they last a long time. But these last six years that I had wasn’t as good as the first time I had an experience with their refrigerator 20 years ago. The quality of it wasn’t as good and I had trouble with my installation. They didn’t really install it very well so I had to have them come back again. And I also had a defect in one my shelves that had to be returned. Other than that, I usually call the manufacturer in Mississippi if I need anything and they are the most excellent to deal with the troubleshoots. I can call them if I suspect that I have a problem and they’ve been the best. If you call the purchase department, theyre very good at saying, “Well, I dont think that, Maybe that’s not it, or Yes. You can order this part, or You can’t order this part. So, I depend on them a little bit more than a local person.
