When I was reading the reviews, there was an oven from Viking that was great for baking and cooking. And since I’m a big baker, I decided to get one. I bought it from Best Buy and initially, I bought it with the floor model which came completely destroyed. I was so upset. This oven costs $6,000 and granted, I got the floor model so I got a discount but it doesn’t matter if it’s the original price. It was a little chaotic but they were very nice enough to swap it out for a brand new one. The manager was very forthcoming to exchange my oven and everything was fine. The quality is great. I’ve only had it for two months now and it seems durable. The only thing I get a little upset about is that I can’t have my oven and burner on at the same time. When the oven’s on, the fan starts and it starts cooling until it keeps the temperature. Then, the air from inside comes out from the back of the oven and blows towards the burner. So when I have the flame on, the flame is not steady and it’s like putting a flame in the wind. It’s like boiling all over the place. I also called the company when my broiler wasn’t turning on, and they sent someone. I asked if they sell anything that maybe blocks the wind and instead of coming straight towards the burners, they’d be going upward. But their rep said there isn’t anything. I thought it was simple and I don’t think I’m the first person that had that problem.

This is my second review of the Viking 36-inch all refrigerator. Ice formed inside the unit and this interfered with the fan. Water collected on shelves and under refrigerator. The first unit was repaired a number of times. Viking then replaced it with a new refrigerator. Same problems. We insisted that Viking refund money to the dealer and we now have a Sub Zero. Finally, after almost six months, we have a refrigerator that works. While the interior design of the Viking is better, their engineering is poor. I will suggest to the dealer, who was helpful, that he considers to stop recommending Viking refrigerators. I have no experience with other Viking products.

I have had a Viking stove for about 30 years. When I went into a store, I saw that there were Viking displays and the refrigerator really looked very nice. I needed the built-in one because I was taking out the bad old built-in. The Viking refrigerator had all the features I wanted and had good quality parts and interior too. The ice machine is in the freezer. And I like the ice to be in the tray where I could scoop it out. I got a side-by-side that looks good in my kitchen. I like the same feel and that it was constructed with a simple design. I also like the clean stainless steel doors and the way its very vertical and tall. I hope that it would last a very long time. If it does, then Id be happy. My experience with the dealer was pretty good but they dont use the best people to do the installation. Their people are not really specialized for Viking. They brought the first refrigerator in and installed it in such a way that they damaged one of the doors. And then they had to send another refrigerator to replace it and it was a big ordeal. Nevertheless, I would tell my friends that so far, I am happy with my Viking refrigerator.

I originally had a Thermador, but I was looking at Consumer Reports and the ratings, and the next best one I saw was the Viking. It was a little less expensive than the Thermador, so I went with them. I liked that they have professional-grade appliances, so I purchased from an online dealer, appliancesconnection.com. I got the Viking dishwasher, fridge and stove on a package deal. I live in California and the appliances came from across the United States, so it took a couple of weeks to get them. At that time, I was in Spain and my house is under construction, so that didnt matter to me very much. When I received the items, the front part of the dishwasher was damaged. I contacted Viking to let them know. I spoke with a reps but the interactions I had with them were so-so. I said that I wanted to keep the dishwasher, but I asked them if I could have a new faceplate put on. They said yes, but they kept giving me the runaround for a couple of months. They said that the appliance would be coming from overseas, which wasnt true because it is manufactured in the United States. Also, the refrigerator lights already went out, so I need to call them and let them know to have them come and repair it. In addition, the dishwasher keeps leaking from the door. But other than a few little problems that I had, everything has been great. I love the oven and the stove works great. I like Vikings products and I would tell people to order them.

I read all the reviews I could and while most were positive, there were a few negative. The negatives gave me a little concern but I had to believe that a quality brand like Viking wouldn’t make a bad product so I went ahead and bought one. It is a great product! I’m so happy with it! It’s not noisy like some reviewers said. It dries just fine unlike some reviewers said. I have to deduct that some people either had defective units or they are chronic complainers. My unit works great and I am very happy with it!

We wanted a good range and Viking had a good reputation. However, it was not a good experience. We were not given full information about the internal cooling fan, which was not only loud, but it didn’t just cool down and then shut off. Through our entire dinner, we heard the fan going on and off. Another other issue was that the burners all fluttered and made noise. We had our propane company come out and check the pressure of our propane and everything was fine. But we couldn’t get it to simmer without it going out and we couldn’t get it on high, even the highest flame without it fluttering. It never worked properly. We have good people here in the area who came out with an additional set of burners, but it never got fixed. So, we were completely disenamored of Viking altogether.

We were pleased with the Viking oven and microwave in our other house so we wanted a stove with a black face on it when we build our new house. We’ve only been using it for about a month and a half but we have no issues, we are delighted and it worked out well. Being able to cook with gas is nice. You can control the heat and with the grill on the top with six burners, you can cook a lot. One burner also has a higher BTU on it which is nice. We bought it from Ferguson in the town we lived in. The Viking dealer has a good reputation and known for its bath and kitchen showroom. We didnt hesitate to go to them when we wanted to pick out the appliances. It was a good experience, delivery was on time and they did exactly what they said they were going to do. Registering on the website was easy. We looked at the serial and model number which I got off the stove and the instruction booklet.

The Viking range has all the features I wanted and a good reputation for being a quality product. It lasts a long time with not a lot of maintenance issues. We wanted a blue range to match our blue kitchen, so we got a custom one. The first one that we received was a disaster. It never worked from the minute we got it. The spring on the door was damaged so the oven never shut properly. Every time it got up to a high temperature, it would drop suddenly down and just remain there. Every day, they sent a bunch of people out to look at it and the whole process was annoying. After a lot of complaining, they finally replaced it. But even if they could have fixed it, I still wouldn’t have wanted it. Why would I want a defective stove that didn’t work from the second it was installed? It was definitely not an easy process. They were blaming the distributor and each step that we had to go through was very frustrating to deal with. The brand new range doesn’t bake well at all. My wife tries every day to bake in it but it burns. We got the dual range with the gas top and convection electric oven. The gas range itself is great, but the actual oven is not very accurate in terms of temperature. The way it cooks food is very inconsistent and I wouldnt recommend it to anyone who wants to do a lot of baking. I would like to take an actual temperature reading on it because it seems to cook hot. Im overall disappointed with this product.

I have a 36 Viking refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. Generally it does what its supposed to do -- keep food cold. But its rather noisy. I can hear it running in the next room. The refrigerator door has an annoying tendency stay open; it has to be closed with a deliberate push or it will swing wide and bang into an adjacent wall. I assumed it would be a simple adjustment to rebalance the door so that it would close with a slight nudge as most refrigerator doors do, but a Viking repairman said there was nothing he could do to correct the problem. The ice maker has also been troublesome. There is a thin metal bar that senses when the ice cube bin is full and shuts the ice maker off. The same bar also acts as a manually operated switch to turn the ice maker back on when more ice cubes are needed. However, the bar is rather flimsy and has a tendency to come loose from its socket, with the result that the ice maker runs continuously churning out buckets of ice cubes with no way to stop it (echoes of The Sorcerers Apprentice) other than by turning off the water supply -- not very well engineered.

We have recently moved and want to update our new kitchen with Viking as well. Im researching product to see the reviews on their newer models. I really am shocked at all the negative comments. I just thought with all the negativity out there, I would jump in to say I have really enjoyed my beautiful kitchen for 6 years. I am very anxious to outfit my new home with Viking! Our family and friends spend a lot of time in the kitchen and it has yet to let me down.

I had seen some Viking refrigerators in friends’ houses and I like the aesthetic. I got my own Viking refrigerator and we got it from Abt in Chicago. While we had a run-in with Abt towards the end in regards to how they went about declaring undeclared costs, it has nothing to do with Viking. Still, the refrigerator is expensive so it better be good quality. My favorite feature is its capacity. We have a small issue with the icemaker but Viking had been quite responsive in getting somebody out to repair it. Overall, the Viking refrigerator has been great.

Ive had a Viking before in my old house but Ive had this new fridge for three weeks and so far, Ive had nothing but problems with it. Everything I put in it, either in the vegetables part or the upper part, is freezing. Everything in the back is freezing. Even though it is cheaper than what I had before, no one will wanna spend $5,000 on a fridge and have problems the very first day it gets there. It doesn’t make sense to have that. And when I called in, the customer service gentleman that I talked to was not nice at all. Then Ive had to wait three weeks to get them to fix it. The technician is coming out tomorrow though and the company Viking used was really friendly. It was nice. But it doesn’t feel good to spend $5,000 and find yourself with problems and trying to figure out to fix something. It’s a little disappointing.

When we remodeled our kitchen we purchased all Viking appliances -- BIG MISTAKE! From day one the refrigerator leaked water out the freezer. Soon thereafter the seal had to be replaced. The motor failed and we lost hundreds of dollars of food. And the open door alarm went berserk and kept beeping even with the door shut for 6 days straight (day and night) until the repair guy finally came to turn it off. The oven has been through 3 electronic boxes and the burner lighters go bad every few months. As for the dishwasher... we have had the motor replaced once, the pump replaced twice. The water fill thingy (not sure what its called) replaced twice and three leaks from the bottom fixed. Do yourself a big favor and do not purchase Viking products unless you are having an affair with a Viking Appliance repair man, lol!

In the later part of September 2016 we purchased a Viking Range model # VGIC 53014bss with high expectations only to find problem after problem with this range, as a matter of fact its a laundry list of problems and too many to mention. I could write a book in less time, its just not believable!!! My theory is and its verifiable that some of the more important components (parts) they install are sourced from China, Mexico etc. They are not manufactured in the U.S. or Europe and this is where the PROBLEM lies. This might not be politically correct but its a matter of fact, if you use inferior parts you should expect problems, and the words (made in the U.S.) becomes ambiguous, it should state assembled in the U.S. Its like buying a Cadillac only to find it has a Japanese motor. Buy cheap you get cheapNow onto the Viking customer care reps, these poor people are subjected to more abuse from disgruntled customers and their complaints, its as if they were part of the manufacturing process, I personally have had only good if not excellent experience with them! They can only do so much and have no options other than to say theyre sorry when problems arise, the executives are solely to blame (Accountability). It seems they must be distant from the overall process i.e. quality control, part supply, etc, etc, in actuality they should be embarrassed. Why should any Viking customer have to wait weeks or even months for service due to a lack of part availability? This also reflects on the service people and their small companys service job becomes protracted and customers like myself get disgusted.Ive recently dissuaded two of my friends from making a Viking Range purchase and not for any reason other than reliability, I am not going to be embarrassed. I just say dont judge book by its cover (oh but its beautiful). I agree but it does NOT live up to its name, its so sad especially when you spend big $$$s and thats for low end of the Viking range line. In summary and again I will not recommend Viking, hence to be forewarned is to be forearmed!!!

The quality of our Viking Refrigerator is not up to par. There are trim pieces that are exposed. You can see the white plastic trim pieces on the inside of the full-sized freezer and the full-size two refrigerators. One of the under-counter refrigerators in the master bedroom has been making a rattling noise ever since weve received it. I dont expect to deal with those issues when weve spent nearly $100,000 on appliances. We ordered our appliances through Winsupply and they sent out a license authorized service repair person. He relayed to us the message from Viking that the refrigerators and freezers we got were within their variants of production. Were used to using other appliance brands and they will never say that that is an acceptable variant. Our induction cooktop didnt work when we first got it and we had multiple trouble calls. They said they had to make a new part. Every month, they would call us and tell us that it was backlogged another month, and theyd push it out another month. It took them four months before the Viking representative finally called us and said that they would just replace it. They should have just replaced it brand new upfront when it wasnt working. We still dont have an industrial cooktop that works.

Our business is residential remodeling. In 2006 we remodeled our home and spent extra money on Viking appliances (double ovens, cooktop and microwave), because of their previous reputation and because clients often look at our kitchen. Weve had issues with each of the Viking appliances, but weve had the most complaints with the ovens from the beginning. They take a long time to heat up and the bottom oven does not heat up as well as the top one. The broil function is ridiculous because there is no prop on the door to leave it slightly open when broiling, so the oven gets too hot and turns off the broiler and my steak doesnt cook properly unless I leave the door completely open to keep the top coil hot. A couple years ago the clock went out on the oven and when we tried to have it repaired we found the part had been discontinued after only 7 years. I havent been able to find an aftermarket part so my self-clean and timed baking are virtually gone. When spending extra for high end appliances, I expect them to function properly and to last and to be able to find parts for them for at least 10-12 years. Ive tried on different occasions to contact Viking, but have gotten nowhere. I know appliances dont last as long as they used to, but to quit providing parts on appliances after 6 or 7 years seems ridiculous in the customer service world. I dont recommend Viking to any of my clients.

My wife and I purchased a Viking 36, four Burners, approximately 18 years ago. The range worked fine for most of the years. Recently the oven door started giving us problems, door would come off its clips, as it turns out the clips on the sides of the inner oven door are no longer manufactured. The oven door for this model is no longer manufactured. In short, we have a range that does not have a door. When you pay $5000.00 for a product, this should not be a large companys response. Viking appliance are beautiful to look at, however, the quality of them, not so much. I bought a suite of Viking products in 2009 (Stove, Refrigerator, Hood, Convection Microwave, Dishwasher) and have had consistent problems with them since day one. The range being the worst. Its an all-gas 30 model. The surface burners on the range work beautifully. They have gotten me through holiday and entertainment cooking when the oven would stop working. It seem that the oven has a known issue caused by cooking at high temperatures (400 degrees) for a period of time. Not only does the knob control area get so hot that you need an oven mitt to touch them it also, over time, burns out the circuitry that is behind those knobs, caused by condensation and/or heat. The last incident was the icing on the cake when the oven wouldnt shut off. I had to turn the oven off at the breaker -- a safety issue no doubt. The circuitry is clearly fried again from cooking a chicken in the oven at 425. (The same faulty circuit board was replaced exactly one year ago.) Viking has told me before that the molding needs to be replaced, which it was. No change in heat coming out. The door shuts fine and solid from what I can tell. A recall was done on the stove that supposedly corrects the oven from turning on by itself. I sense that wasnt fixed because I couldnt get the oven to turn off the last time I had an issue. In a recent email correspondence with Viking, a parts tech said that a fan needs to be repaired or installed under the range-top area where the circuitry is housed. What?! There is no fan and whos paying for that work-around. (Honestly I dont think he knew what he was talking about. This is Viking (Middleby) customer service, mind you.) I dont use my oven that much as Im usually grilling. I probably use it 10-15 times per year and rely on a larger Breville toaster oven to roast/bake smaller things for the two of us. (That appliance has saved me many times and is worth every penny and has lasted well beyond the life of the Viking stove, at a fraction of the price.)Ive given up on Viking, as other appliances in this suite have been problematic just as much. I stopped using the dishwasher years ago. Thats a saga unto itself. Sometimes it works, sometime it doesnt You never know. You get a light show on the control panel telling you why it failed cleaning. My point here is that Viking Appliances needs to be held accountable for the quality of their products. Supposedly they are premier appliances that should be built to last. The Consumer Safety Commission needs to be aware as well, especially with regard to safety concerns with the range. I cant in good faith recommend buying a product from this company. Again, they look great but they just dont hold up. I will buy American again but not them!!

The dishwasher we bought 3 years ago has been a disaster. This week, the start button fell into the dishwasher. Then the rocket scientist repair person (who is an authorized repair person for Viking) comes to check it, ends up ordering the wrong part because he thought that was the problem, after disassembling the entire panel. Now he says the correct part is backordered for 3 weeks at least. I called All Viking Parts.com and Viking and confirmed this. How is it possible that a $28.00 part cannot be found in the United States of America? Viking is SO proud it is made in the USA, yet cannot have a $28 part in stock. Also, when we bought our 3 viking appliances, they came with a 1 yr warranty. Now they come with a 3 year warranty..... must be due to the fact they are absolute pieces of jump. The stove, fridge and dishwasher have ALL broken. The dishwasher being the most to break. In fact, a part I bought myself and installed in the fridge, has broken.... again... literally within 2 weeks of installing it. NEVER BUY VIKING APPLIANCES..... NOT WORTH IT. I wish I would have listened to the reviews I read about Viking before purchasing.

We went through an open house and we saw one with Viking as one of the stuff they put in their kitchen. My parents really love Sub-Zero and we were wondering if we’d go with Sub-Zero or Viking, and we picked Viking out of price. I like how cold it is and I like the fact that food doesn’t go spoiled as easily as with my traditional $2,000-range fridge. I bought a floor model and I called Viking ‘cause it had an installation issue. They sent a third-party company fast, which is good in terms of their customer service. However, the company who did the repair was not as good as I would like them to be because they couldn’t do it right and they put on the report that it might be a different issue. They scheduled it for another three to four weeks ‘cause of the parts. Overall Viking is pretty solid, but from the design point-of-view, it’s a bit outdated compared to others. Sub-Zero is better but it’s a little bit pricier and it’s harder to find a floor model than Viking.

I got my Viking package at Best Buy when they had a Buy three things and get one for free promo. I got an oven, a cooktop, refrigerator and a dishwasher. The French-Door oven is the best Ive ever had. Its unbeatable and the ease of use is incredible. The stove top and the refrigerator are also fabulous. The refrigeration is perfect. Im very picky about ice makers but the one I have is great. It makes sufficient amount of ice and the ice is hard and lasts forever. But I cant stand the dishwasher and I want to upgrade it. Its a piece of garbage and I cant believe Viking would even put their name on it. Its been a huge disappointment, phasing me out of plastic. I called an issue on the dishwasher and the reps were very helpful. Apart from that, the refrigerator, the oven and the cooktop are great and I love them.

My refrigerator freezer was delivered defective. I just got a replacement but I am still waiting on parts for it to be adjusted by the repair guy. I had to argue with people at Viking for two to three months for me to say Im not taking this refrigerator because its cracked in one of inside framing. The local, regional manager wanted me to caulk it to fix the whole thing. But I said, Look, I paid $14000 for this freezer refrigerator. Im not doing that. After three months of just saying no, Im thankful that I finally got it. Its been frustrating and I hope I can get my part and stuff soon.

My Viking range cooks great and very fast, too. Its a beautiful appliance however, I don’t believe theres a timer on this thing to time anything. I don’t like the fact that when I turn on the oven, theres a blue light that comes on but theres no signal that says when its gotten to the proper heat where the blue light goes out. And I have to be basically sitting on top of it to know the proper heat. Ive had other ovens that will beep when they’ve hit the right temperature. The other thing I don’t like is the ergonomics of it because I have to bend over to read the dials to see where theyre at because my particular range has a little bit of an overhang to it and the dials are underneath it. That’s a very minor thing but an important one to me.

I like that the burner of the Viking range is bigger than the other ones so I bought it. But I dont like the range. There is too much problem with the oven. Within six months, the oven is not working properly and there is a problem with the cleaning. The large shaft doesnt come out. So you have to maintain the range. When I turn on the burner, it goes right away sometimes but sometimes it takes four attempts to put on. Viking sent me some specialist and they told me there is a problem with the part. But the range is just one year old and its expensive too. I never recommend this product anymore.

They were also doing a rebate. Plus the Viking place in Suwanee offers classes, and thats not that far for me so we can learn more about it. This is the first gas range Ive ever had. I’ve owned Viking before, and I like the features they had on this particular model. It’s easy to purchase. But Ive had to contact them multiple times. It’s a piece of garbage. It’s broken multiple times. We have a two oven model. The oven will go into self-cleaning mode and lock, even though we’re not trying to clean, we’re trying to cook. And it’ll take days to get the oven unlocked with food stuck in it. Ovens will just die because they won’t heat properly. We have the electric oven with the gas burners. And so, we’ve had failure to heat multiple times as well, with defective relays, defective elements. It’s also very hard to get a serviceperson to come. And when they come, they dont fix it. One problem has recurred and not been repaired several times, and then, I had another problem as well. They always try to charge me for the call, even though it was under warranty. I would never buy Viking again.

We bought a Viking refrigerator 15 years ago. We purchased a new refrigerator to replace one that wasnt working anymore. We had no choice but to buy another Viking because we invested in cabinetry and it’s the only thing that would fit. However, it doesnt fit even if the specs said it would. It was a disappointment. The current model is two inches deeper than the original side by side that fit in the 24-inch cabinet. Viking would not take it back but the appliance company would, but we had looked at other side-by-side models. We would have had to use a stainless and our panel wouldn’t fit. In addition, nobody makes a counter depth refrigerator anymore. Wed have to invest in the columns to do that, and they’re significantly more expensive. We’re stuck with the Viking refrigerator. Also, they gave us a deal and we had gotten a dishwasher for free that came along with the refrigerator. Vikings specs need to be more accurate in terms of calling something counter depth when it’s really not counter depth. The refrigerator freezes things on the top shelf. Then we had a hinge problem. We had people out of here twice to fix the hinges. The door is also extremely heavy and has a metal compartment on the door. And it’s much heavier than the other unit. Although its a great refrigerator, I’m not enamored with Viking products. I also own a second Viking, a 36 inch with a lower freezer, which is still working after 15 years.

I started my degree in design and have always been very into design, form, function and how things look. I go through all the magazines and when I saw Viking the first time, I thought I wanted those in my home. One of the main reasons I loved the Viking is because it’s very simple, the lines are very sleek, and elegant. I went to an appliance dealer in Spokane, Washington and the salesman showed me all of the appliances. Wolf is a little intense for me. Six months later, we had to hone in on what we were gonna put in the house and so we went to that dealership in Bend, Oregon. I kept bringing Viking up and the rep kept taking me away from it. He said the brand doesnt update and doesnt have anything new and fancy with their machine. But thats why I want it. I don’t want anything fancy. There’s not even a clock on my stove. First I was kind of taken aback and I thought, “Oh, I have to use my own timer.” Now that I’ve used it, it’s what I love about it. There’s none of those pieces that often have problems down the road. The temperature is very true to the dial. I have a thermostat in there and when I put it on 350 and I wait 30 minutes, it’s at 350. The refrigerator doesn’t have the water feature that a lot of refrigerators have. When I open it up, it’s incredibly bright and it’s like the heavens open up. You just see everything. I’ve noticed that I can also keep vegetables or fruits in the compartment for a longer period of time than I’ve been able to in the past. It’s interesting how many people have come in to look at the house and they’ve all made comments on Viking. It just works so well and accentuates everything else that is in this kitchen.

My parents owned a Sub-Zero which only makes built-in refrigerators and not stand-up ones. Ive heard of Viking in the past and theyre my number two choice. However, I received my refrigerator damaged. A lot of parts under it were bent so its not leveled and I have to put a piece of wood behind the fridge to level it. Also, the bottom grille doesnt line up with the fridge. Theres also frost build-up all around the inside of the fridge where the cool air comes out of the little vents. Theres supposed to be a gap in between the shelves but theyre touching. And the door slams hard. It doesnt feel like a normal fridge. Its hard and its like plastic on plastic when it closes. The freezer door is not even with the refrigerator doors like its pushed in on one side. When I close it, it’s supposed to be flush with the doors but only one side is pushed down and one side is pulling out. The Viking team was friendly but they took a while to return calls. I spoke to a representative and she said she was going to check on my fridge. I had to call her the next week and they were supposed to call me back two days later and this last week but I still havent heard from them. They said they were going to send out somebody to repair the fridge but the company guy said its irreparable. Overall, Vikings built-ins are very good but their stand-ups are not.

Viking seems to have a pretty good reputation. Also, I had a Viking stand-alone refrigerator before that I bought on sale and it was good for years. So, when I saw that they had a floor model sale, I took it as a good opportunity to upgrade. I got another stand-alone refrigerator and its interior design is nice and quite functional. It also seems solid and reliable, like the Viking refrigerator that I had before. Viking Support has been very good, too. When the dealer sent a crew who was not a certified installer and did an extremely poor job, I ended up calling Viking Support and that was when I finally got help. So far, I like the refrigeration part of my current Viking refrigerator, but Im not too pleased that its freezer. It is so noisy and on all the time, which is quite bothersome when it is in the middle of a kitchen or family room area. It did not occur to me when I had the smaller refrigerator that the freezer kicked on all the time. With this one, the compressor kicks on for a few times a day and when I open it, which I find unnecessary. Even in a cool day in Northern California, it would kick on and last for a long time. And I hardly use the freezer. I have called their technical support and the guy said that the freezer does that because it needs defrosting. But why would it need to do that all these times? I was also told that it’s normal, which I find counter intuitive when I hear the freezer cranking more often than I open it. So if thats really not a defect, then it is a very poor design.

I purchased my Viking side by side built in refrigerator in 2011... I have had ongoing problems... The dealer sent out a technician with a list of problems we were having... Water freezing within the door to dispenser, rattle within the grille, door hinge catches and pings when opened and closed. After a couple of times with dealer technician, they sent me to a local authorized Viking repair business. Numerous technicians were sent out to work on previous problems and then we started adding additional problems... The back wall piece that ice tray connected to came loose, and again no ice or water dispensing. Auger motor broke. As to date, 2014 I am still contacting technicians to repair my frig. I just contacted Viking direct and wanted to know what can be done! She apologized and apologized and yet said that Viking will not take any steps to review and/or replace my messed up refrigerator... I was so displeased. The Viking appliances are high-end and I paid quite a nice ticket price for a kitchen full of Vikings... And being American made, which is why we chose Viking. We thought they would be a service quality company. Not the case in my experience. I would not recommend Viking appliances.

We like that Vikings were brushed stainless. So, that fits with our current appliances. They have a nice, clean, sort of no-frills look. We got the ceramic top mostly because we dont have any venting in our house, and it would be a real rigamarole to put in. We would have preferred the gas range, but so far, the ceramic range is working really, really well for us. Its easy to clean and it looks nice all the time. It works like a champ, so were really tickled with it.The Vikings dealer was wonderful. Everybody was very knowledgeable, and they understood our specific constraints. Once we saw the Viking line, we really wanted to stay with it, and they were able to match us up with what we needed. We also purchased a Viking dishwasher at the same time and I registered both appliances. During the registration, there were a couple of numbers missing from serial numbers that didnt match up. That was a bit of a hassle, and I couldnt really complete the registration online without some help from tech support. But overall, Im very satisfied with Vikings.

We bought a Viking range, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. We redid our entire kitchen, and we bought all-Viking appliances based on reputation. The stove has been great. The induction cooktop is fabulous but Im not real convinced about convection oven yet. I don’t see the advantage of that being faster than normal cooking. But that could be that it’s relatively new to us, and we don’t know exactly how to use it yet. But I think we’re gonna be very happy with it. We actually have an electric stove because we don’t have gas in our area. But to see that you can boil water so quickly, the cooking has been incredible on the oven-top. The customer service has been good as well. We waited a long time for a range. The people that we bought the appliances from didn’t know why it was in such a delay. So I just called Viking myself and the woman I spoke to was incredibly nice and told me that the issue was they were waiting for parts from Germany. We waited like a month for it. But that was nobody’s fault. It’s just the way it was. The people that we bought it from, which was at Pacific Sales in Best Buy, have been pretty good. But the guy who installed our refrigerator worried me a little bit because he never heard of Viking. He never had installed Viking and he didn’t do it right. But the people that came out the second time were in and out of my house within 5 minutes because it was a very, very simple fix. The guy who did my dishwasher, oven, and microwave went to Viking training school, so he was very knowledgeable.

I have a Viking side by side fridge, double oven unit and a range top - While the range top seems to work Ok The Fridge is the worst, between the ice maker not working properly, water evaporation unit does not work (a known problem) where you have to empty/wipe off the water from under the unit, and various shelf draw handles and side door, doors have broken off (replacements are expensive). The oven works ok but in the first year all the temperature and oven controls (bake, convection bake, broil etc) have worn off, and its not like I used steel wool to clean this, but really how is this even possible? We wanted a happy marriage of performance and utility so we figured wed buy Viking. One of the big things involved in my purchase was BTUs, the power of the burners. I had something which was similar but the Viking range outperformed anything that Ive ever used. Its so much more efficient. I also have their microwave and we’ve had zero issues with it. Were super happy with it. I had paid for installation and delivery because that was part of the whole package. But with COVID, they couldnt do it. I just got my handyman to come and install it and it was super easy. The performance has been amazing. I love cooking on it. Its one of those free-standing ranges. However, the convection oven button blew out in about a month which kind of surprised me. I had used it once. Once I turned the convection oven on, I could not turn itself off. It was still under warranty so I did call Viking. The people at Viking were amazing. They were like, “Yes, absolutely. Its all covered. Its a brand new appliance. That should have never happened.” The service technicians that they contracted out to, not so much. I live in Austin and it took them forever. It ran for two days straight before they could come out and turn it off. Then they told me that there was some circuit that was broken so they needed to order a part. They came out and said they had the part. Five minutes later, the guy said it was the wrong part and left. I received no communication to the point where I had to reach out to Viking. I wrote them a very lengthy email saying, “Im not happy. This is not what I expected out of a premium product. This may not be you directly, but this is your contractor. I havent heard from them. I love to cook and Ive always loved and wanted a Viking range for many years. We finally decided to get a range and Im very happy with it. Our Viking range is something Ive wanted for many years and it is fantastic. I love that I have six burners, that I have the option of convection and that its gas, since Ive always had electric. The team at the Viking dealer was wonderful and great but I was not impressed with all the demonstrations there. We also got a dishwasher, a refrigerator and a hood. Upon delivery, we had a dented dishwasher, which was not anybodys fault, and they replaced it which was fine.

I liked the blue color offering of Viking Ranges and they werent as expensive as other ones. I knew exactly what I wanted, so purchasing it was easy once I found where to buy it. It was installed wrong though, so I had to have them come out. Once it was fixed, I love it. I like that it has two ovens but the racks slide almost too easily, and sometimes, they just kinda go in and out too fast. Sometimes, Im trying to grab it and forget that I need a hot pad but I have never burned myself.

Viking oven quite beautiful blueberry blue, came with amazing home we purchased, number of problems in the 5 years we have been here. Currently the door to the small oven is hanging open, we cannot fix it. Called and left voice mail messages for the service manager and NO CALL BACKS. We cannot do business like this and are positively shocked that no one cares enough about such a valuable brand to look after maintaining or building the value. Sounds like its almost game over from reading about other peoples unfortunate experiences.

I bought a Viking range, dishwasher, and refrigerator at the same time. I heard it was a pretty good brand and I liked their looks. Ive had them for six months and so far so good. We purchased from a Viking dealer and the refrigerator is competitive with others in the price range. They came within five days after I ordered. It was a pretty good delivery and they didn’t do any damage when they came to the house. However, its hard to set up a service with them. They need better customer service availability, like on weekends. We’re happy with the overall quality, however, its easily scratched and stained with oily fingerprints. I think that goes for all stainless appliances though.

Most of the Viking items weve had are in our Florida house which is of a quality where I would put Viking products in. The range has been great. Its the second range my wife and I had purchased from the company and at this point, if I had to buy a third one, I would buy one from them again. Were in the middle of a couple of warranty things that they are taking care of. Dealing with their customer service crew at this point, I would say that I could not ask for more. In fact, last week, I sent back an email because their customer service person reached out to find out if we had success in getting the appliance repair people to take a look at the product, and the Viking people are very gracious in the way they take care of problems which is a nice thing. Theyve got the parts ordered already. I am very pleased with Viking Ranges. I hope theyd be really good people which they seem to be.

I had Sub-Zero for years, and it was leaking and leaking. We had it fixed a million times before we changed. We also needed a built-in and we wanted a bottom freezer so we went with the Viking. I like the lighting. Also, the ice maker works well and the ice is clear. However, Im not happy with the door. It closes but when you open it, it slams open. Its not balanced. Viking installed it improperly so we had to change the doors. When the doors came, they were all scratched. We had to get a brand-new Viking fridge and there were all these scratches on the doors, which was unacceptable. But they brought new doors and they just didnt balance them.I filled out a form, I registered online, and Viking Refrigerators called me a local company and weve been playing phone tag. I want them to send somebody to fix the door but it hasnt happened. Ive been waiting for a month for that. Also, the drawers are poorly designed. Theyre flimsy and not elegant. Theyre not as sturdy for a $10,000 refrigerator that should be better quality.

We sent back a previous refrigerator to Viking as the water dispenser wasnt working. The ice maker was working initially but it stopped working as well. A technician came first to evaluate the refrigerator and said he needed to replace some parts. It took weeks for him to get the parts and he finally came back saying that the refrigerator needed to be replaced. It took a while to get the issues resolved and we had to take time off of work to do that. The coordination was a little frustrating, but the process of getting their product replaced went smoothly. The guys who delivered the new refrigerator and helped set it up were great. However, it doesnt have a water dispenser and I wished that Viking had told us that because I spent money buying the charcoal filtration and I dont know what to do with it now. Other than that, their overall service was good. The installation of the refrigerator went fine and the ice maker is working okay.

Viking is the better brand and I give it a high rating. I like everything about my stove and it is very nice -- premium stoves do not have a lot of push button screen on them as those are problems and they are not made for heat. I had a premium brand once and I threw it out as I did not want to fix it again. So I bought a Viking. Visually, it is nice, including its knobs and color. Initially, when I did my research, I did not even know where they are from as I thought they were manufactured overseas. But when I went to purchase it and I started doing more research, I found out that they are all over New York. Anytime I go to a restaurant, they have Viking stoves, and those stoves are here forever! It will be the last stove you ever own.

The builders of our home had already selected Viking, and we had seen the Viking appliances at a friend’s place and we were very happy with the appliances, so there was no regret. Most of our appliances are from Viking and I had to contact their customer service for the registration of the appliances. I had trouble registering the products once we occupied the house, and that was resolved. The customer service team was very helpful. They knew exactly what my request was and they were able to help me register the products. There were a couple of times it took me a while to connect to the customer service, though. The quality of our Viking refrigerator is great and it is easy to use. I like that the configuration of the compartments could be changed. There are many configurations that I could do to suit the container size that I am storing in the refrigerator. Thats the biggest plus for me. All the products are from Viking, so they are all coordinated. They blend very well together in the kitchen. Viking products are durable and they last for ages, so I’m very happy that we’ve made the right choice. Overall, our experience has been great.

The whole thing is awesome because right now in my other home, I have an electric range and theres no comparison. You can cook faster and you can turn it off and on and have the heat go away. We have the grill part in the middle of our range, which I havent used yet but I love that feature. I grew up with gas, and when we moved to Florida, Florida had mostly just electricity or electric ranges. My husbands from Mississippi, so we had to look at Mississippi in getting a Viking and we love it. Its the first time hes cooked on a gas stove, and its so much better. It cooks so much nicer and the food tastes better. Everybody from Viking was great. The gas that we put in had been delayed and they kept the stove there, and then they brought it as soon as we needed it.

I have a double electric built-in oven approximately 11 months old. The temperature has never worked properly, and in August, I had a technician come out to regulate the temperature. In the process, we realized the convection feature did not work properly in the top oven (and later also in the bottom oven). After two trips to regulate the temperature, the technician also ordered a new fan for the convection portion. Shortly after that, we told him to order a bottom fan as well, as that was not properly working either. He called and told me the fan would take three weeks to arrive from the factory. I asked if it was in China, and he said no, he got parts faster from China than he did from Viking in the Midwest!!I had bought the oven from Albert Lee Appliance in Bellevue, WA. I called their service department initially to complain about the temperature, and they put me in touch with the local technician, who is excellent! I never had any follow-up call from Albert Lee to see if I was being taken care of. As time progressed, and the parts had not arrived, I again called Albert Lee service, and later the salesman I bought the oven from to ask for their help. The salesman referred me to to his service department, and they said they would look into it. After three weeks, and another call to the service department, I have never heard from Albert Lee.I finally called Viking, and after three re-routings of my call, was connected to the rep in Southern California, who told me to call the Northwest rep. He returned my call the next day, and promised to get the parts overnight so my oven would work. After a week and a half, and no parts forthcoming, he called and said he would replace the oven with a new one. He did mention receiving an email notification about bad convention fans in wall-mounted ovens (which I knew from three weeks prior from the technician!). At any rate, I am now awaiting a new oven (no delivery date yet). I would NOT recommend Viking to anyone based on my experience with their sloppy, untimely repair issues. I do have a Viking cooktop, and am happy with it, but hold my breath if something goes wrong with it after this experience. Also, I would not recommend Albert Lee Appliance to anyone, for their lack of customer care, and general lack of any follow-through on customer complaints. They sell and forget, it seems, so I will buy there no more.

Were purchasing a new house and we wanted to replace all the old appliances with new ones. Weve always had other types of refrigeration but since we were also looking at enhancing the resale value of the house, we considered upgrading to Viking for the new home. Weve had issues with their refrigerator so we had it replaced. The new refrigerator we received needs a new panel because there were some dents in the delivery, but that is more on the delivery and the installation, rather than the actual product itself. They will be replacing the panels free of charge since its under warranty but its a little inconvenient because someone has to be at home. We have to leave for work and we have a baby.A lot of Viking products, including their refrigeration, are not necessarily standard size or there are certain components that need to be installed properly so it needs a special kind of installation to make sure that they fit. So theres a gap between the retail sale and the actual installation of the product. It ended up being a pain for us in receiving our Viking package because it wasnt installed properly initially and then we had to get the installers. We also ended up waiting from September until January to get the kitchen appliances all right so, my husband and I are now thinking why we didnt go with the higher end LG line that recently came out or some of the higher end Samsung or Bosch appliances or something that’s not necessarily a Viking or Wolf or Jenn-Air, but still in the big-box type chain. We dont know if we would do it again.

We have known Viking for many years. The Viking Range was high-end quality and we wanted a commercial type of stove. We bought it from a dealer who was very nice and helpful to us. So far, the range is wonderful. The oven cooks very quickly and it’s different from any other ovens I’ve ever had. I like the convection in it. I also like the fact that we have the grate on top where we could grill. Although we bought that separately from the stove, you could grill things on it and make pancakes on the other side. The oven is sturdy and easy to clean. But Im not too happy about the shelves. They dont come out very easily and they stick out a bit. You cant get a round pizza pan in there. Also, the fascia came bent twice. It came right off the box that way. So the second time, we just had the installer push it back up. But all in all, our experience with Viking has been pretty satisfying. The oven works very well as far as cooking food.

The refrigerator has doors that did not line up properly from the time it was received brand new. Viking already replaced the door on the frig side, and they have sent out techs to fix the alignment problem, and they sent their head guy. None of these efforts fixed the problem. Viking replaced the motherboard on the refrigerator too. The shelves and doors and drawers all have broken multiple times. Food freezes, milk freezes, we have wasted thousands in spoiled food because of this faulty refrigerator. Viking is now pulling the it is out of warranty game although they promised me they would extend the warranty since they wanted me to allow them to fix the original Pro Series Refrig when they should have replaced the lemon appliance from the start. Dont trust them. Make them put it in writing. Better yet, dont let them constantly repair their junk, and make you live through inconvenience in a kitchen you paid $25k for their top of the line Pro Series. Insist on a refund or new replacement, otherwise you will be constantly living with techs and once the warranty expires they will say you are all on your own.Viking replaced the double ovens, and the two dishwashers. Amazing no more problems and no service calls since the original junk was removed from my home. It should be noted that we replaced the dishwashers with LG, and no problems. In fact our CA home has Sub Zero, Fisher & Paykel and Miele, and they are all twice the age of this Viking junk that is in our AZ home and no problems. We also have Kitchen Aid in our TX home and no problems. Our Viking problems over the past 3 years since building our new home has caused huge inconvenience, and the problems are obviously correlated to the poor quality control that allowed such defective appliances to be sold. As with all the other Viking problems, once the original appliance has been removed and a different one installed, we have zero service calls. Why would Viking Customer Service fight me on this? Viking had a great rep who did such a good job of trying to correct the problems with all of their other appliances, yet they now will not acknowledge the multiple times their techs have been out and in fact they recently stated there has only been one functional service call. Apparently Viking does not keep good records or they dont consider replacing an entire door, or replacing the motherboard, or replacing cracked drawers, or fixing a constant alarm, or fixing a freezing of milk problem, or replacing cracked shelves, or replacing broken rollers, etc to be functional service calls. If Viking will live up to their commitments they made to me I will gladly let other consumers know but as of this writing they are ignoring me and leaving me with a broken refrigerator, one that was broken from day one, and hiding behind a warranty expiration date. I called who they claim is the head of all customer service, but she would not speak with me and the receptionist told me someone else is actually the head for my region. I do not want to speak with a regional head, as this is a matter that Vikings Chief Quality Officer needs to be made aware of. Viking if you care about your customers you will have someone contact me immediately to remedy this horrible situation.

We bought Viking Professional which we thought would have been their best of the best and we’ve not been happy with it. I was really excited about the purchase and it’s been a disappointment. With the first fridge we had, water was pooling. We had three different service guys out, the last one being a Viking service person who couldn’t figure it out. They ended up replacing it, and with the fridge that they replaced it with, the door is not aligned correctly. We’ve had two people out to try to fix that and that has been unsuccessful. After three service calls, a fridge replacement and two additional service calls, six different times I’ve spent the day in the house waiting, we’re done. I would tell anybody else not to purchase it because it’s a lot of money and we’re settling because I’m truthfully just tired of it. I wouldn’t purchase another one.

We had our kitchen remodeled and our contractor recommended Viking Refrigerators. We went and looked at appliances and all different brands and we really like Vikings look and functionality. The price was also right. There’s a lot of great features, little things like it will beep if the door is open too long and its ability to program the temperature versus using a dial in older electronics. It has a really nice ice maker, too. The lighting is beautiful on the inside, it is bright. The quality of refrigeration is great. It keeps the vegetables and fruits cold in the compartment. The Viking appliances are made to last. Between this refrigerator and my old refrigerator, for some reason, the things wouldnt last as long as they do in this Viking. The different departments and the bins in the refrigerator makes it so you can put things in different temperatures. That’s a heaven-sent. When youre a chef or you like to cook, you need things right there. You dont need to be running around the kitchen. With all those different drawers, I got the vegetables in one thing and I even have wine in one of the compartments. So, its an excellent piece of equipment. It makes cooking easier. My favorite feature of the range is the simmer. But I like the one on the right-hand side in the front because I like to cook things and get the heat high on it. You could cut up two chicken breast that might be cold and put it in there, and it would get nice and hot where it would start to brown. In a normal stove, that would not happen. If I had to do it again, I’m definitely going to be using Viking. When you want something to last and you want to pay the money for a good appliances and good equipment, Viking’s the best. When you spend the extra dollars for something, it changes your life. I was cooking on just an electric stove top and I only had four burners. So, to go from that electric stove top to my Viking, its like getting a brand new Mercedes Benz. I cant believe how easy it is for me to cook things such as baked potatoes and big rib roast. Ive cooked them all. Viking is expensive but youre paying for the quality of it. If you want the best, you got to pay a little extra, and it’s well worth it.

However, it was installed crooked and its still crooked. It slopes, so the trays slide out when Im cooking. Its dangerous when Im cooking greasy items. The first range, a 36 open burner and the range hood, have been fine for 12 years. Surviving a move to a new house even. The dishwasher purchased at the same time started badly staining glassware & silver after a couple years. Viking said it was crappy dishwasher soap (phosphates removed) but the Bosch at our ranch did fine. Limeaway removed the staining temporarily. Inspected the racks and found the plastic coating cracked exposing the carbon wire core which was rusting. Viking said theyd happily sell me new racks for $450. Compared it to a neighbors dishwashers, found it to be an Asko. Racks were less than half Vikings. Very Funny. 30 open burner gas stove at ranch would not light/stay lit. Viking said likely master propane regulator was bad (but fireplace & Rannai water heater worked fine). Third-party repair person specified by Viking found range regulator out of limit, requested replacement. A month later, no regulator after many calls. I built a water manometer, adjusted Viking regulator to spec, range worked fine. Then noticed when range top leveled, triangular gaps between range & counter face. Adjusting feet to plumb range sides with counter made range top 1/2 bubble off. Viking said floor not level (it was fine). Problem was range not square, back had been screwed on with sides not plumb. Called third party repair person, he said call somebody else. Viking hadnt paid him for diagnosing the regulator problem. Removed back, squared stove, replaced back (new screw holes required), problem solved. BBQ looked massively professional but cast-iron burners holes continually rusted shut, had to be reamed twice a year. Porcelainized sheet iron flame diffusers and grates didnt last two years (their new ones are stainless), found SS burners, diffusers & grates on the internet for 1/4 Vikings prices. Drip-drawer plastic (!), rollers melted immediately, replaced with SS. Moral: Great appearance, great brochures, celebrity endorsements (paid, most likely), a generous retail mark-up (probably) encourages dealer loyalty and dealer omission of known crappy quality control, crappy build details and total absence of warranty service discharge. Wouldnt buy anything Viking again...

I wanted to get a Viking Refrigerator for its quality. I like the brand, thats why I purchased a second refrigerator. But Im not happy with the grid up top. When I got the first refrigerator, the grid was higher and the height of the cabinet above the fridge was based on that grid. But now this one is lower, so now I can see a gap between the cabinet and the top of the fridge. Their quality is just not as good as it used to be. I still like it, but Im not happy with the way they changed things. The fridge has the same features and size as the first one. But I liked the way the light didnt dim on and off when I open the fridge. Its drawers and cooler are also different and better. In terms of my experience with the Viking dealer, I’ve dealt with them in the past and I purchased my baking products from them originally. I would have been happy if they were more knowledgeable about the grid on the new fridge. I feel like it ruined my kitchen. I designed the original kitchen around my appliances so it doesn’t make sense to me why they would shorten the grid up top. My experience with the Viking Refrigerator would be nicer if it lasted more than 10 years for that amount of money. Other than that, it was fine.
