Our Viking refrigerator was bought along with our new house. Its quality is good but my wife is very upset about the noise. We have called for support but the guy who came here didn’t fix the problem, and we’re still suffering with the noise.

We had a tricky experience with Viking and we are still hoping for help. The builder, whom we bought the home from, selected Viking appliances. It is a brand new beautiful home but our refrigerator just freezes all the food. It is not consistently cooling in a way that a high-quality refrigerator should. It is brand new so we are miserable and it has been a terrible experience. The refrigerator is vital because we had to throw out groceries through the holidays. We’ve lost food and have lost much money. On the other hand, the range is fine but it’s not something I can really grieve about. The Viking dealer gave us a number for a local person to come look at it. The first person never called us back so we called Viking back. They assigned a second person and the second person came out and told us that they do not know what was wrong. He also told us that Viking told them that they should counsel customers to keep all the things to the front of the refrigerator. It was ridiculous. It was so bad and negative and we were really frustrated because we did not even know. We are not difficult customers on any level and so we’re so sad because this is the first time we bought a brand new home with new appliances and we have not been able to get a resolution. I have been calling Viking probably under 10 times and I’ve called the local repair people a few times as well but nobody came up with a solution. Viking told us to listen to whatever the repair people say. Also, to wait and do it and see what happens. No one really seems to care. We got a lemon and Viking isn’t owning up to it yet. We’re just sitting, waiting, and throwing away food that it’s horrible.

Its a nice refrigerator. The only thing I didn’t like was we had a repair guy here twice already for two fans and then the ice wasnt working either. The technicians were very knowledgeable and courteous. They had to order a couple of parts. The first time we had a fan that went out, it took about two months to get. But the tech rigged it up some kind of way and it was not losing any kind of coolness to it, so it stays running. It’s just made it louder. Then we just got that other fan replaced last week. The tech came out and fixed that for us. It took us about three weeks before he got that part in to get it fixed for us. So quality-wise, its not worth the price.

Our neighbor has a Viking refrigerator and I like the appearance. It also seems like they last longer. We bought one through Best Buy and the specific sales person was really good. I like that the fridge has more shelves than usual, but when we had it installed and opened it, the drawers were cracked and I am frustrated with that. It would have also been nice for the fridge to make crushed ice, instead of the big ones.

We were promised the delivery date of our Viking Range was some time at the end of June of last year. But we kept getting pushed off. We were told it would be two more weeks. It just kept going and going. Finally, we got ahold of somebody high up in Pirch who said that we might not have it until the middle of this year. We started calling around. I decided that if I couldnt have a Viking, it was okay because I just wanted an oven. I hadnt had one in almost a year. We finally found someplace in New York that had a model that we ended up purchasing. It got delivered in November of last year, five months after our original date was promised and it was dented. We got ahold of somebody. They told us that they would get a new part out to us. But we still havent gotten a new part out. Im super disappointed. It was also broken when it was delivered and it took five weeks to get it fixed. But I love cooking on it. Its amazing. Weve made some pizza dough and Ive used the proofing feature, which I didnt even know it had. That was really cool.

I got a Viking fridge knowing that it was one of the more expensive, better products for kitchen appliances. The purchasing process has been fine but the appliances have not been that great. Within one month of moving in, the defrost sensor crapped out and we lost all the food in our fridge. There was still a warranty for it but we had to lose money. The problem was we purchased a home from a builder and it came with Viking appliances. So that stuff was out of warranty and the builder didnt cover anything. Based on what Ive read, I would go with a Wolf instead of Viking.

Viking has been around for a while. We knew about the quality when we chose it. The rep was very knowledgeable and had a lot of experience, but it probably came down to when we knew about the really good price on which we got it. The quality of the range is okay although its not as well-thought-through as we might have thought it would be. The inability to effectively clean it is the most disappointing part of it. The technician who came out and serviced it knew what he was doing. He once said this is a known issue, and it just came with the range. I love my grill though, and I’m satisfied with my Viking range.

I have a lot of problems with Viking. The oven is really loud. When you set the temperature for 300, it goes to 300, and then it tries to go on and off just to maintain the temperature. I can hear that on and off sound -- the clicking and the sparks -- in the living room which is a good 30 or 40 feet away. I dont know if I have a faulty unit or thats the way its built. Also, the dishwasher doesnt really clean really well. Ive looked online and at the manual. I tried to tweak things like settings and gears. I also make sure I use rinse aid and high-quality detergents but there have been some issues. One more thing was the fridge. When I set it at a temperature like 37 degrees Fahrenheit, things start freezing in the back of the fridge. If I put a jar of olives towards the back of the fridge, it gets frozen. These are very expensive appliances and theyre considered high-end, but I dont feel like I have that quality in them. Ive had a Frigidaire fridge in my garage and Ive had it for about seven years, and thats working perfectly. I dont think I would recommend Viking but that could change. Ive been meaning to contact support and once I get in touch with them and they can help me resolve these issues, I think maybe it would be different.

I’ve known about Vikings Refrigerator for years. They were in my family growing up and I liked their dependability. I like the design of the unit I have. But I had a poor experience with my Viking dealer, an online dealer. I purchased from a company called Appliances Connection and theyre out of New Jersey while I’m in Atlanta. I knew exactly the model I wanted and did everything online. But there were problems with the communication between the sales representative when I ordered the unit and the shipping department, and theres the need or knowledge of being service oriented. It was committed to me that it going to be a white glove delivery experience and that the old refrigeration unit would be removed. But when the delivery people got here, they dropped the Viking Refrigerator in my front door and left. I wasn’t able to inspect it and I had to struggle and had to pay them additional cash to be able to get the old unit removed. Other than that, the overall quality of the refrigerator is great.

Just describing facts: you can judge if you want to go through this headache. Bought in 2011; Model # CVDSC548T64SS. First problem: noisy vibrating fan required between 2012 and 2013 several service. First replacement fan had same problem needing replacement again. Now, in 2015 (oven is just 4 years old!!) the Temperature selector switch not working. Needs to be replaced (cost 435 $ + tax + service call). The service company has had to change this part 4 times already for other customers. I called BRIGADE but they refuse to consider this a defect.Considering that this range costs at least 10,000$ I CAN NOT RECOMMEND SPENDING THIS MUCH MONEY FOR POOR QUALITY OF PRODUCT AND SERVICE. Just found out Viking no longer called Viking but BRIGADE! Daniel came a few times until June 6, 2013 to solve the problem of the noisy oven. Now Sep 11, 2015: control knob for temperature and mode not working clockwise only counter clockwise.

We’ve had a Viking Range in our prior house for 12-15 years now, and I like that we could get their range with the eight burners but not have the griddle. I love their burners. However, the grates in the top plates on top of the burners are hard to keep clean. But besides that, I like it.

We live far out so it was hard to find a Viking dealer. The closest to us was three hours away. But the dealer we had was very accommodating. He gave us all the information we needed. We bought a stove and it was challenging to setup because we did it ourselves. Getting the gas connected in the back was difficult. It was in a hard to reach location so unless one has the right tools, it was hard to do from a laymans perspective. We finally called somebody in to do it for us.My husband said that the grills over the burners are big. You have to balance a small pan on it but it has worked. Ive done it and it seems sturdy. The stove works well and I like that its just a basic range. It holds the heat for me which, my other stove gave up on. It doesnt have all the computer parts, which is what our other stove gave us issues with. The motherboard in the other gas range we had went out three times and it was very frustrating.

I was putting in a high-end kitchen and purchased all Viking products. Theyre industrial feeling. I like the size and capacity of the refrigerator. I also like the way it looks and the ability for it to be built into the kitchen. However, Best Buy managed to make the experience very difficult. There was a significant delay in a lot of the products and they couldnt figure out how to get updates. I ended up finding the 1-800-VIKING number and calling them directly to find out what was going on. I got updates myself because Best Buy acted like their hands were tied in the process. Then Viking doesnt have support and service in my area other than Best Buy to install it, which makes the experience poor. So, even when I got my refrigerator installed, Best Buy acted like they werent gonna be able to do it. They gave me a hard time about it ‘cause I didnt have cabinets in that they wanted. I had to escalate it just to get them to install it. It was so troublesome. I had the same issue with the hood for my range. But Best Buy ended up compensating me by giving complimentary five-year warranties on all my products. They also gave me a free range for about three months during the delay of the range from Viking because the delivery deadline was so different than what they originally communicated to me. They redeemed themselves, but it doesnt change their inability to deal with the process during the process.

I liked Vikings looks and professional-grade. The quality is okay, but there was an issue. There was a dent in one of the refrigerator doors. Im trying to get that thing sorted out but its still not been resolved. Ive been emailing service at Viking and its been almost three weeks but its still not been taken care of. After spending $12,000 on a refrigerator, I would expect a little more response.

The ice cube crusher/cube maker has broken twice. The first time it was still under warranty but it took over a month for the company to send a repairman. The second time that the ice crusher/cube maker broke, it was just out of warranty. The very rude Viking phone representative said that the part (ice cube tray with auger) was back ordered for over 3 months due to the faulty design of the unit noting that the plastic parts keep breaking. I like that Vikings interior was metal and not plastic. Its a beautiful 42 inch brand new fridge but my experience with it has been sucky. The ice maker didnt work. It would make one layer and then it would stop. It took three trips from the repairman to fix it and it was frustrating. They came here once and couldnt figure it out. They brought a new ice maker and put it in. It still didnt work. I had to call again and they told me stupid things to do like turning down the freezer, but it was already at minus one. How the hell low do they want me to make the freezer? Then they changed the ice maker again. It is now fixed and doing good but Im worried that its gonna go out of warranty if it breaks again. I wasnt happy with the service at all.

We had a horrible time with our Viking when we first got it in. I contacted Viking and they got on the ball and got the range serviced. I liked the people I dealt with. Also, the range cooks good, although Im not used to the oven yet. It seems like my cakes and stuff have been all right but with biscuits, Im having to put it up on a higher temperature to even get them to brown good. That bothers me. And the quality inside the oven kind of disappointed me. The racks from the other stove that I had were more of a quality than the ones I have now. Also, in the book, it says to use just soap and water for cleaning but that wont do it all the time. That worries me. Its very important to have a product that you can clean with other than just soap and water.

On the top part of the oven door towards the inside of my Viking range, the metal was not filed or buffered or sanded down. It’s a real dangerous place for it to be and I cut my finger closing it one time. I took the time to take everything off and use some sandpaper to sand down those edges. Thats something that they need to look at. Also, I wish the legs were more adjustable than they are. My counter height is about an inch lower than what they had because of tile that was put on the floor, so I had to do some modifications to make all that work.Vikings pricing is a little high and for that price, I would have figured it would not have the issues that I had. I wouldnt have minded paying the price. But I had to do all these little things to it and that kind of bothered me. Other than those, I love it and I enjoy everything about it. I love the burners and the layout. I love to cook and it does really good. This particular model is the only model that they offer like this with a convection oven in it, which I think is awesome.

The ice machine in our Viking Refrigerator doesnt work. Ive had a service technician out because its still under warranty but they cant get the parts. They cant even confirm when theyre going to fix it. I’ve known Viking products for years. In fact, all of our appliances are Viking. We got the lower end model of refrigerator. Im not an expert on refrigeration, but I dont think that its up to par with other units at its price range. Their upper end models may be totally different but the ice maker design of this unit is not good and it needs to be changed. We cant pull the drawer out because the bearings had gone bad. So, the ice making location or the way it works is not good. Now, I cant even get parts for it but the parts are backlogged. They said its going to take over a month to six weeks to get them. They need to keep these parts in inventory. I can understand if theyre not readily available that day but I hope we could get them within a week. Six weeks is ridiculous. They cant even confirm when theyre going to get the parts, and theyre saying hopefully by Thanksgiving which is not good.

I have had a Series 3 gas range for less than 2 years & have had nothing but problems with the oven. When I first got it, it sounded like it was sucking air. The temp is always 25-50 degrees lower than the temp dial indicated. I ran the self-clean cycle twice & both times the door wouldnt unlock after the oven cooled down. I have had parts replaced multiple times. Most recently the main control panel was replaced so I figured all would work fine but it is worse than before. Now the oven lights, the fan comes on, the light to indicate the clean cycle is finished comes on (I wasnt running a clean cycle), the fan turns off & the oven shuts off so now I have no functioning oven at all. When I called for service it would take at least 10 days for the tech to come out... Guess they only have 1 service guy. Finally heard from Viking who said they will replace my range but the replacement range is a downgrade (does not have the self-clean feature). That is not acceptable so theyll give me store credit. The dealer has nothing available in black, w/ self-clean option in the same price range as the Viking. So if I get a different brand & dont use all of the store credit, I forfeit the unused amount. That is not acceptable. The dealer has an I dont care attitude.I have told both the dealer & Viking that at this point I will only be happy with a refund. Talked to Lindy at Viking on 10/24 & had no response w/in 24 hours so called again on 10/26. Got the impression she had done nothing about my request. She told me shed call me on 10/27 in the morning but I have had no call back. I called Viking & was told a VP has to review and they will get back to me hopefully within the hour or tomorrow morning. Unbelievable that a company with their reputation would be so difficult to work with. Their product stinks! Their response time stinks! Their attitude stinks! I will never recommend Viking to anybody.

After 20 years in our home, we finally were able to build my dream kitchen with Viking Professional appliances. Weve had multiple problems with the oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Both sides of the oven have broken and the igniters break from time-to-time, too. The repairman told me I wasnt turning it on properly. What? After calling him back several times, Viking finally agreed to replace it. The repairman tells me not to get the igniters wet. Ok, I got it. I dont do it. Its not me! The ice maker in the freezer is horrible. The water line freezes all the time. Weve replaced the ice maker, added something to the unit to keep the water circulating, and not the water overfills. What a freaking mess it makes. The dishwasher is the worst ever made. It may or may not turn off. The repairman says to open it and let it dry out. Ok, but that doesnt work either. I wont even use it anymore. Viking Professional is terrible and has ruined my dream kitchen. :(

I heard of Viking Refrigerators through my friends. Viking has favorable feedback about the appliances and their quality overall. I also like the competitive pricing bundles that they had put a place for this past year-end. They had an aggressive buy two, get one appliance free. And then also, they had a 5% discount rebate built in. It outpaced most of their competitors and at that point of seeing that, it became a no-brainer to buy a Viking. We have an 84 inch by 42 side by side and it works fantastic. The only thing it doesnt have is the water dispenser, but thats not a problem for me. It has been working great so far. Also, my experience with the Viking dealer was great. They did really well and inspected everything out for us and made sure the appliances were gonna fit in terms of measurement, design, and all those basic necessities that I was looking for from a product across the board. We put in our entire kitchen with the Viking products and they did great. I would recommend Viking to others.

Viking is a great brand and has a good reputation. My parents had a Viking range when I was a kid and we just redo our kitchen so we got our own Viking range for its price and quality. We looked at discount places and priced out Viking ranges. We bought a model from last year and we like its BTU for the burners. The overall quality is good and we love it. Our favorite feature is the burners and we have five burners now that we’ve actually all been able to use.The sales guy at the Viking dealer was great and did no pressure. He has very high professionalism and knowledge for the product. He totally helped us out and then we looked and told him that we would look somewhere else and get another quote. It was no problem with him so we went and looked at another Viking range somewhere else. We realized that what we first saw was the one that we should have bought all along so we went right back and got it. Were very happy with our Viking range and it’s simply one of those things we’re going to have for a very long time.

In my last home that I built, we put a Viking range and a hood in it. I did research on it at the time and it was one of the highest rated in Consumer Reports. From experience with it before, I went to purchase another one when I redid my new kitchen. Everything’s been fine with it and I’ve been very pleased. I love everything about the range except two things. The first is the old stove I had had individual grates for each burner and I miss that. With this one, I have a five-burner stove and its got three grates. I would prefer to have each burner have their own grate. Its easier for me when Im cleaning it to be able to lift one of the grates to wipe out the area which needs to be wiped down. The second issue is the knobs. There should be a safety locking device on it for children.

When I walked into the showroom, I saw this Viking refrigerator and I liked the look of it. Viking has a good name too. When I made the purchase, the reps I dealt with were good and helpful. Ive had my Viking refrigerator for about three weeks now and I like it overall. However, there are some things I have some issues with. The refrigerator is so-called commercial and the compressors are a little louder than I would have expected. Also, the ice bin is trash. There are major problems with it. For one, there is a lower side in the back so when the ice fills up and you pull the ice bin out, the ice falls into the track. When you try to close it, the ice gets crushed in there and you have a hard time closing it. The ice bin also leaks so it freezes over the wires that are underneath the ice bin. At some point, that is probably gonna be an issue. Another issue is the toe kick although its not a big deal. They just didnt put it on yet and I cant figure out how to do it. On the other hand, I like the pizza box holder at the bottom. And although I didnt like these at first, I now like the automatic closing doors, as well as all the meat and vegetable compartments. It is also very bright inside the refrigerator. I like the lights.

The tech said that the first Viking range we got looked like it was dropped
The tech said that the first Viking range we got looked like it was dropped. Thats the only thing that would explain the problems with the oven cavity being kind of out of kilter. The rep I spoke to about it got kind of snappy with me and said that the tech was not telling me the truth. Also, the range wasnt level. The island vent was up higher on one side than the other and it stood out like a sore thumb. They tried to level it and the only way they could do it was in such a way that the tile backsplash behind it, with the grout lines running across horizontally. And one of the igniters was bent in to touch the burner and the tech said that because of that, it would not ignite. They replaced the range. They brought the new range in but it has the same problem as far as the back in the island grill not being level with the tiles behind it in the backsplash. The tech came out and he said the guys that installed it screwed up. He was able to level it and it looks fine. But the oven door is also off exactly the same as the first range was. We had a tech here last week for the fourth time. He tried everything, as far as tweaking the door hinges to see if he loosened the hinge screws and tried to move that oven door over to see if that would indeed get some clearance. He was able to improve it a little bit, but its still clearly wrong when you look at it from the top. Also, theres a kickplate that goes along the bottom of the range and when it was delivered, it was like it was knocked off of the little hooks that hold it in place. And it was scratched. He looked at the scratch and said they would replace that. He properly reattached it so it looked true and ordered a replacement part. But the replacement part was cut wrong and wouldnt fit. I still have the scratched kickplate. One more thing is the grates on top. There are three grates, one for each set of two burners, front to back. The one on the right was lower and was kind of dipped to the right side. The tech replaced the little stoppers that it sits on to see if that would make it work but it was still lower on the right side. He had to put washers in the brand-new range to make the grates level. This is their flagship 36-inch range. Its a $14,000 appliance. But the quality could not have been worse. We’re baffled. If I could do this all over again, I would not get a Viking product.

We bought a new-build and the Viking range was already installed in the house. Viking had a reputation that I heard of and the builders use of that appliance increased our impression of the rest of the house. We really like and enjoy our Viking range, and weve only had minimal issues with it.

Viking had a professional-style model that would fit in the space that I had versus having to cut out and build new space for the size to have a built-in look. However, the quality of their refrigerator was not great. It doesnt close wonderfully and Ive had issues with the seal. But the team at the Viking dealer has been excellent. Theyre very helpful in getting all these stuff for me.

Viking has been a long-standing name. I’ve remodeled my kitchen and Viking is one of the models that we looked to buy, and we ended up purchasing the whole package, including the dishwasher, fridge, stove, the 36-inch. We love the stove and the dishwasher. We are having a slight issue with the stove, and we’re waiting for a call back from somebody to come and take a look at it. The refrigeration, as far as how cold it is, it’s been great. Our initial experience was not good though. The refrigerator came with a big wave, a number of waves, and not really dents. The initial response to my request was kind of flawed a little bit, and I didn’t know if that was so much at the manufacturer or it was the person the we purchased it from or the company we purchased it from.Viking said they would replace the door and I said it was not just a door and it was three doors. After some photos and back and forth, it was eventually replaced. So, I’m happy. I love the style and design. On each side of the door, there’s a lower part for drinks. It pivots and it kind of goes in and out a tiny bit. There’s a shelf that you can lean towards you, and I think it’s for small drinks. I just think that could be a tiny bit bigger. I do like the shelf and we didn’t even know it existed. I didn’t read the whole book when I got it. And you can tuck the one-half of the shelf back so you could fit a taller bottle in there. We have started using that. That’s a nice feature.

I knew Viking from the installation in multiple houses from friends but in this particular case, the builder had Viking as the official product to be selected from. We didn’t have an option but to select within Viking products. Its a good brand though and I like their refrigeration products look, that the drawers close softly and that it works. I would recommend them with a caveat of what the person might be looking for exactly. For example, this refrigerator doesn’t have the option to access water or ice from outside the door so it’s just practical issues depending on how you want to use it and what is your preference.

We bought the Viking Series 7 48” Dual fuel range with the ViChrome gridd
We bought the Viking Series 7 48” Dual fuel range with the ViChrome griddle for our remodel. The range looks really good, unfortunately we need one that works as well. Let me start with what works well. The burners are very nice, delivering consistent heat. The stove top is easy to clean with few nooks and crannies. Now for the things that don’t work well. The ViChrome griddle looks good but a horrible surface to cook on. The only thing that doesn’t stick like superglue to the surface is pancakes, as long as we use ghee. Any other fat or oil does not work at all. The surface is very difficult to clean. The griddle itself has a problem that there is a high temperature difference between front and back. The back will burn things while the front will undercook. Only about a 6” piece of the griddle cooks at the set temp. I had the workings of the griddle changed out by Viking service but it did not change a thing. We gave up using it as it’s not worth the trouble.By far the biggest disappointments are the two electric ovens. There is also a large temp difference between front and back of the ovens, upwards of 10 degrees. This too was addressed by Viking service but no change. The only way to get even cooking is to manually rotate the dish. The convection fan sounds like a jet engine and makes this very large range shake. Viking service replaced the fan in the larger oven but it shakes now more than ever. We gave up using the convection ovens as the noise and shaking are just too much to stomach particularly given the $15,000 price tag. Finally, each oven has a heating element at the top which shuts off when oven reaches temperature, unfortunately it will kick on during cooking when oven is at temp and proceed to burn whatever it is we are cooking. I lost count of how many dishes have been ruined by this. We have to watch the heating element constantly to insure the dishes don’t burn. The range looks great, but what a huge disappointment. I am a second generation Viking customer, growing up with the older models that built the great Viking name. There will not be a third generation Viking customer in my family. There are better products out there a 1/4th the price.

I love the amount of space of my Viking refrigerator. It’s really good for an office. However, it wasn’t getting to the appropriate temperature. So, the serviceman came in and replaced the fan and something else. Those parts were not under warranty anymore, so we were looking at four years with the refrigerator. The freezer was working fine, but the two parts that he replaced didn’t do the trick. He had to come back, and then it was something that he needed to fix. He came out a couple of times before we finally got everything back up and running. So, we were without a refrigerator through most of the holidays, which was kind of a pain. And it made it hard to get him in. The serviceman was great. The only issue we had at one point was finding out when the parts were coming in. We waited and waited and finally, I called the serviceman and they said that they were having a hard time getting the parts. So, I ended up calling one of Vikings customer service numbers to find out what the issue was, and the part was in the following week. But there was this waiting time where we didn’t know anything, and it was because the part was taking forever to come in. Viking needs to set interaction between whoever provides the parts to the technician, and then the technician’s communication with who’s waiting on the part and the repair.

I do like my range so far. It heats my food which the oven is supposed to do. It feels sturdy, reliable and doesnt have a lot of bells, buttons and whistles. It looks as though it will do what its supposed to do for the next 20 years. My expectation is that because it is expensive, Im going to have it for a long time. It is easy to clean. Im not a big cook, but my understanding from people who do is that its important to have the temperature consistent inside of the oven. Thats one of the things that Viking is known for - even heating. So if ever I take up baking, Ill find that to be true.

I was familiar with the Viking brand and it felt that I like the quality better than the alternative brand. The only problem is that its supposed to be fixed. The knobs that turn the gas on and off don’t pop out as they should. Some of them are maybe defective and even the ones that appear to work well really aren’t very good. The other day I was walking by it and I had a shoulder bag and it swung and just bumped against the range. And the gas went on full blast and flames were coming up about a few inches. So it literally turned on the whole stove by just swinging against it, which is concerning for everyone. I’ve never experienced that with the other range before so I would definitely redesign that system to be safer.

Our Viking range has been really good. We did have one small problem with it very shortly after owning it. Two of the burners wouldnt light. But they quickly got us in touch with somebody to come out and replace the igniters. The person who they had come out and service it was awesome and had it fixed really quickly, but he said, “I just dont like how one of these is lighting. Its still lighting fine, but I just dont want to leave here and say it’s fixed. And then in three months, you have another problem.” So, he came out a second time, even though it was working when he left, and replaced that igniter entirely. It was great customer service from them. The only challenge with Viking is totally esthetic. The only frustrating part is that the surface below the grates are very shiny black, and theyre the ultimate dust collector if youre not keeping on top of it.

We went looking at different stoves and we were impressed with Viking by what we were getting for our money. Our place is propane/electric and we wanted a gas top and its got a convection oven in it. We liked that idea in case the power goes out. Were in the mountains and the power goes out here once in a while. This range is super expensive and I would never normally go out and buy a stove like this. But weve got a beautiful house and this stove fits the house to a T. However it was hard to get the kit to transform into propane at the top and we had to wait quite a while. We were cooking on our camp gear outside because they had to go back East for the kit and we had to wait over two weeks. That was the downfall and that wasnt very impressive. I was at the point of canceling the range because of it. Its a high-quality stove and they should have no problem getting parts for that stove. I wanted those parts flown to my house like next day delivery so we could get the stove into place and we couldnt even get that done. I also didnt like that I have to get my glasses on and look really close at the dials. The stove has got a switch on the side. You push the button and the light comes on and it lights up the dials. It shows you when you turn the dial, youre gonna turn it up to high or medium, but its very hard to see. Its got to upgrade. Otherwise, we love the stove. The stove is an awesome product, a very beautiful stove. It does a really good job of cooking and Im impressed. My favorite feature is the convection oven.

Being empty nesters, and retired we rarely use your oven, except for when company comes. So even though it was past the warranty, plus we had a problem at the beginning with the settings of the range, we believe this range is a lemon. They say because we didnt have complaints earlier, its not. Customer service was horrible! Our oven stopped working during roasting our prime ribs, we had to ask neighbors to finish the prime rib and barbecue the other one; the hot dishes that were going to go into the oven after the prime rib was done had to go to other neighbors house. We would call customer service and ask them to return our call, but they never did. So we had to call over and over again. That meal was at Thanksgiving time and we still dont have it repaired yet, and they called saying the part hasnt come in so theyre canceling tomorrows appointment! Right during the holiday season when we like to do a lot of Christmas baking! So its ruining our Thanksgiving and Christmas! Thanks a lot Viking! Learn from us, and our experience: never buy a Viking!

The house we purchased had a Viking Range and it was un-repairable according to our insurance so they said, “Replace it,” and we decided we want to keep the same. The one we had before was a four-burner and we replaced it with a five-burner. But my wife wants me to call on it for service now because the guy who installed it said to do a deep cleaning right away. So we did for like two and a half hours and after that every time we turn the oven on the fan has a weird noise it didn’t have before. Before everything was nice and quiet. We could hear the fan coming on exhausting the oven. And then after we did the deep clean -- the high temperature clean, now it sounds like the fan is hitting something. When we installed it the place I bought it at said that they would be putting in something like anti-tip or something to the oven so if someone stands on the door the oven wont tip over. But they did not put that in. We also ran across some problem when we were trying to fix the original stove. The cleaning function would not work on it and the burners wouldn’t fire up every time. We had to use an igniter. But I had maybe four different people out here to look at it and said, “No, we don’t do this Viking.” They wont do it. That had scared my mother a little because we were remodeling her apartment and she was thinking of getting Viking but were not too sure now because its difficult to find service for them. Not everybody deals with Viking.

Theyre not in-house so they had no clue and they didnt set up my range. But once I got my appliances, I was satisfied. All my kitchen is Viking and IIm really happy with my appliances. I bought an electric, five-burner convection since I live in a townhome and were not allowed to have gas. Ive had the range for about two months now and so far, everything has been excellent. My favorite feature of all time is the rack in the oven thats on hinges. You can pull it out completely without pulling it from the sides. You can extend the rack stand.

A Viking fridge was part of our home purchase. We were able to pick out the refrigerator that we prefer within some limitations. We could pick the fridge with or without the ice dispenser on the door but we couldnt really change the size because weve already locked in the design of the cabinet. Still, we had the option of picking one from three different vendors. I like the size and the overall layout of the one we ended up with. The quality of refrigeration is okay, however, theres a lot of temperature differential within the interior of the refrigerator - the top shelf might be 34 degrees and the bottom shelf might be 41 degrees. The reason I know the temperature now is because the temperature that it was set to wasnt anywhere close to what it actually was. Hence I bought a little wireless thermometer that I could put in the refrigerator to tell me in real time what the temperature was. Just from putting that in different places in the refrigerator, I found that theres more difference in temperature than I wouldve expected. I havent worried as much about the freezer although we had a number of service issues. With these service issues, it took three or four service calls to finally get the problem sorted out.

He has told me that he doesnt know how to repair it - has tried replacing the sensor, drain pump, taken it all apart. All of our appliances are Viking, which is a high-end brand. But I guess Viking is new with refrigeration. The quality of the refrigerator we got from them has been horrible. Here in Canada, the price is very steep (7500$ )thus expecting quality and long troublefree life. Well it was ok for 6 years then problems one after the other. The latest one is the Broil unit which costs more than 1000$ to replace. The other expensive repair was the left Induction unit which was 1500$ to replace and repair. I suppose the was a known problem with this since Viking agreed to replace the part but I had to pay for labour. Changed the oven door seal at 100$ also out of my pocket. It is a nice design works ok (not really more than others) but worst I have ever had. At that price it should have been really reliable. Before this I had standard ranges at around 1500$ and I gave them (2 different makes) to my kids many years ago and they are still working great with NO parts replaced whatsoever. I think my guess that paying more for quality really does stand. Is it worth paying much more just for the looks???

Now all of the plastic is cracked (clear and white plastic) and today the shelf fell off entirely onto my wifes foot with all of the condiments in it. I cant believe that such an expensive fridge has such poorly made plastic that wouldnt even be acceptable for a cheap fridge. I like the quality and the fact that Viking refrigerators are made in the US. We got one delivered in June and it was a $3,500 fridge, but there were many issues with it. The doors could not be adjusted and the panel on the bottom didnt lay flush. On the second day we had it, it went up to 80 degrees inside. It started heating up at about noon and then by that evening, it was around 84 degrees. My husband reset the fuse box the next morning at 6:00 AM. It must have rebooted it so it started working again. When I spoke with the customer service representative, she told me they were not going to send somebody to look at it because it was working. I found that unacceptable because there was something wrong with it. There was moisture in the seal between the refrigerator itself and the freezer. I could see where the freezer had somewhat warmed up because there was icy buildup on the shelves. Initially, I wasn’t that satisfied with the customer service with Viking. The freezer was lukewarm so we had the approved rep here in Hawaii come and look at it. He couldnt figure it out so we ended up ordering a replacement for it. The new one was delivered two days ago and I like the double door opening. Right now, though, I feel that I am satisfied but I hope something doesn’t go wrong because of the issues Ive had.

We had to replace our former slide-in in a rush because we were expecting holiday cooking soon. We purchased a Viking D3 after glowing reviews by our saleswoman. But the D3 has never worked right including a month after we purchased it. We had to cook the holiday turkey in the microwave, one part of the bird at a time. After contacting Viking, they sent out a certified repairman who had to order a part from Viking to make the oven usable. That took two weeks. From then on, the temps seemed to be accurate (we had to buy a hanging oven thermometer to tell), but the oven took forever to heat up. Even then, we couldnt cook anything then or now other than one item at a time and have it cook in the desired time. There are three racks in the oven... the instructions even show and explain how to cook using the three racks at once. However, the oven temps will not support using all three racks. We are also dissatisfied with the five upper burners. The center burner can only be used if the cooking pot/skillet is smaller than the large burner size indicates IF you are trying to use the other four surrounding burners simultaneously. You either use the four outside burners OR you use the large center one, but not all five at once due to size of the cooking containers. I am so disappointed. I wish I had purchased a low-end quality stove. This one sure isnt it. DO NOT BUY A VIKING APPLIANCE!!!!!

I really like my Viking stove thats why I looked into buying a Viking refrigerator, too. I researched a lot and it seemed like Viking had the least number of complaints regarding breaking down or having trouble within the first five years. I like having two temperatures in the refrigerator. I can pull out the drawer and put a flat and large plate of cake or tart in the different section and control the temperature. Moreover, the Viking team at the dealer was nice, friendly and knowledgeable. They knew what the difference was between Viking and the other manufacturers which was great. However, Im having an issue with the fridge already. The second week after I purchased it, I noticed theres an icy patch in the back of the drawers. Some of the vegetables in the drawers were getting frozen. I had the temperature set at 37 Fahrenheit, in which nothing should be freezing at that point. I had to wait 20 minutes to speak to any technician then had to hold another 15 minutes to set up an appointment. I just bought it so I expect to get it fixed. I had to speak to the servicer in my area who called me back but there was a scheduling conflict so I havent seen them yet. Theyre supposed to come on Monday. I expected more. When we first took delivery of our Viking stove (double oven, 4 burners and grill) the larger of the two ovens didnt work and the computer motherboard had to be replaced. The company servicing it was great so the impact was minimal. Within the first few months, the black finish on the grease trough, although never used, started to peel, exposing the shiny metal underneath. Since it is so visible on top of the stove, I reached out to Brigade (the new name for Viking in Canada) for a replacement part, under warranty. After much waiting on hold, and back and forth emails, they agreed to send the replacement part.I waited five months only to find out that the order was never placed and a new company has taken over their parts distribution. They have informed me that since my warranty has now expired, they will SELL me the part at a discount. How nice! This stove, which looks beautiful, was meant to be a once in a lifetime purchase. Not only is it showing early signs that it wont stand up to normal use, the lack of customer service is disheartening! I wish I loved my stove but I dont and would not recommend a Viking/Brigade due to the poor customer service.

My dishwasher has not been working since the beginning of July 2013 despite 4 visits by a tech and numerous phone calls to the extended warranty company and Viking. It was also repaired in 2010 and 2011. My refrigerator is also on its third repair and is failing to keep a consistent temperature... It is either freezing food or else keeping food in the 40-42 degree range. These are marketed as Professional appliances and certainly do not live up to this reputation. I discourage all consumers from purchasing Viking appliances... They come with a hefty price tag and leave the consumer frustrated, disillusioned and dissatisfied.

We researched Viking and Wolf, and we decided to go with Viking. The sales rep at Best Buy kind of talked us into it when we went and started pricing out and looking at all the different merchandise. Then when we heard that we could get a 5% cashback by purchasing them, that was the determining factor. The look of our Viking range is stunning. We love how it cooks everything evenly. We bought the range and we bought the French wall oven. We like both of them. Weve been trying to clean the wall oven and we are a little confused on that because you put water because it’s a steam clean, and it’s just different than what were used to how an oven cleans. My husband put some water in it and then turns it on to self-cleaning. It just didnt clean as much as we thought. We bought the hood, the range, the wall oven, the microwave and we have been waiting six months for a fridge and freezer that we purchased as well. But I left a message this morning because I have not received any of my rebates when I went online and did all that. When I renovated my kitchen in 2007, I purchased the Viking Professional Series dishwasher, fridge and gas top stove. IVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH ALL OF THEM. After spending $11,000.00+ for these three appliances (that came highly recommended by the salesperson at a large, high end appliance store), I expected a good quality product to don my newly renovated dream kitchen... WHAT A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!Initially, the appliances all Sat in their boxes until my kitchen renovation was completed about 6 months after my purchases. Several months after installing the appliances, the DISHWASHER broke... the water would not drain properly. Viking repair man fixed, then happened again about a year later. I asked Viking rep to replace product since same issue was re-occurring and appeared to be a pre-existing problem. I was told no; that since the dishwasher was still under warranty they would send another repair man. Fixed again... then same thing happened again within a year... except now (even though they Sat unopened in boxes first the 6 months) the warranty was over.I was told the diverter valve needed replaced, and it would cost over $600.00 to repair!!! I was beside myself, I called Viking and said this was ridiculous since this was a pre-existing problem and I should not have to pay for repair. Well we all know their response... Cant help as no longer under warranty. A frightening and dangerous feature of the GAS STOVE TOP is the design of the on/off knobs. I am all of 110 lbs, and sometimes when I lean forward to stir a pot on a back burner, the pressure from my body will actually turn the flame from the front burner on!!! Also, periodically when I turn one burner on, one of the burners that is off will make a clicking noise. The REFRIGERATOR water dispenser broke after the first year. Later had troubles with the ice maker bar getting stuck in the on position, and more recently the clear plastic on the large pull out drawer cracked. Finally, the other day the refrigerator just stopped working - like it went into a defrost mode - ruined all frozen foods, and most of the refrigerated items. I called the store where I purchased the Vikings to see if maybe the refrigerator was still under warranty - they said no. I mentioned all the troubles I have had with these products, and the sales representative said they stopped carrying Viking products. I think that says it all!!!The repairman came, said it was the poorly designed freon line which was directed into a drip pan (for cooling purposes) causing the line to rust/corrode, and consequently leak the freon. He was surprised to see this since he said, running the line in this manner was stopped years ago. The repair was estimated at $600.00 to replace the line, but possibly $1000.00+ if other related problems were found. The repair man said probably better to cut my losses and go with a more reliable refrigerator like GE, Kenmore or Whirlpool - rather than throwing good money after bad. Like many I want to repair since cheaper than buying new... but based on reading these postings, and past repair experiences... Im afraid of getting burned once again. Being stuck between a rock and a hard place. :(I would NEVER, ever recommend buying these overly expensive appliances built with their cheap parts, and poor design features. I feel like I spent a lot of money and never received a good return on my hard earned dollars. Should be illegal. Guy who mentioned a class action suit may be on to something.

When we were searching for a range, some people were trying to sell me Wolf, Thermador, and Bertazzoni. There were some other brands they were telling me and I didn’t like what I was hearing. They were also telling me not to buy Viking but I stuck with my plan to either buy Wolf or Viking. I looked at Wolf first but then I didn’t like what some people were telling me about Wolf. They have good equipment but the price was extremely high. Then I found a guy who was willing to negotiate the prices so I decided to go with Viking. He did a really great job. He brought out all kinds of brochures that he had and gave it to me for me to look into it. Im gonna go back to his place because we are also interested in buying a refrigerator and we want to go with Viking. My wife and I are really happy with the Viking equipment that we bought. Everything’s working very well and we love that. Viking is the best.

Purchased a beverage center/Mimi fridge with a 5-year service contract, thank god! It has never worked properly. We have had at least 6 service calls and probably several thousand dollars in repairs. The unit has never worked properly and has be out of service longer than it has worked. By the time we get the call to the repairman they order the parts they come back to fix, the fridge breaks in about another week. It mainly freezes the contents which leads to exploding sodas and cracked glass. It has read the incorrect temperature as well as unable to change the temperature.Right now the unit was fixed yesterday after waiting several weeks for parts and just today called the store where it was purchased to have someone come out and check it for yet another issue. The store we purchased it refuses to exchange it because it is a high endproduct and they cant take it back... I wish we purchased a 300 hundred unit from Costco instead of wasting $ 2000 on this...at least it looks pretty! We have a 5 yr service agreement so when that runs out it will be placed on the curb. Do NOT waste your money.

We had a Viking range before and it was over 20 years old, so we figured that if something worked for 20 years, wed buy another one. We purchased it around April of last year and were totally disappointed with it. Around March of this year, we had to call Appliance World because it wasn’t working. Then we called them again last month for the same exact reason. Now we have to pay for it because it’s not under warranty. I contacted Viking itself and I’m still waiting on somebody to respond to my concern.

The Viking Range fit all of the requirements that I had. Its a professional range and has a 36-inch all-gas oven. But Ive had a lot of issues with the range. I had to have the ignition switch replaced about a week after it was installed because the oven would not light. And now Im waiting for them to come and replace the burner in the oven because it wont stay lit. It was installed in the middle of September and it hasnt functioned properly since. But the dealer has been helpful as far as sending someone out to repair it. The Viking rep called and was very pleasant. He offered to come out and do a free demonstration whenever the unit is functioning properly. Theyre supposed to come out and replace the burner. Hopefully after that he can come out and show me some features of the oven.

My experience has been really bad at this point. Ive had Viking appliances before in another house and I was extremely happy with them but the refrigerator that we got is horrendous. The freezer doesnt close and the bottom drawers are not level. When you get the handle, the handle is loose and the doors feel like they are made out of aluminum. They are so light and clumsy. The refrigerator drawer has a middle handle and you have to hold it with two hands because if you hold it with one hand, it does nothing. Ive been complaining. This is beyond bad.

My brother bought a Viking range. His wife is a really great cook and they loved the range. We had a range that worked off one of those panels and it broke down so we had to replace it twice. We wanted to get something that was totally manual and looked sturdy. the Viking range looked like the real thing. And it was a special with the dishwasher. We needed one of those so it all kind of worked out together. The qualitys great and its a real pleasure. I like the grill on top and you can slide everything across. However, I would never go back to the Viking dealer, P.C. Richards, again. Their guys came and I made the mistake of letting them install the unit instead of calling the plumber. They wound up cutting the heat shield at the back of the stove and they had to replace it. It was two weeks of back and forth and it wasn’t fun. That aside, we talked to Viking Ranges and they gave us a list of dealers since we wanted to get their runners. Our kitchen countertop is Butcher Block and the stove is sitting in the middle of the Butcher Block. I like the same stainless steel edging that I could put on the Butcher Block that would be alongside the side of the stove, like an angle iron. It would be attached between the countertop and the stove.

Instead, Im having a problem with this brand-new and expensive oven thats over $5,000 after having it for less than two months. Ive bought a lot of different appliances in my time and Ive never run into a problem with an appliance immediately. I asked my husband to preheat the oven and he had to shut it off because it wasnt turning on and there was a gas smell in the house. Also, the microwave is a little weird. The fan has two speeds but it certainly sounds the same to me. I reached out to where I purchased the oven from and they sent somebody to service it.

Our experience with the Viking dealer was touch-and-go. There was a promotion and the package deal for the appliances was better than their competitors. We committed to buying the appliances and knowing that we were doing a big kitchen remodel, we gave the best timeframe we could, but we missed the timeframe. There was a lot of patient pushbacks from the team at the dealer and when it finally came time for delivery, we ended up with a problem with one of the appliances. I had to call up to the home office of the appliance dealer and then they had to call Viking to get it resolved. It took about eight weeks for the defective dishwasher to finally be replaced which was disappointing. So far, the range seems okay and were happy with it. We like the size of it, the amount of heat that it generates, and how fast it cooks. The quality of the cooking surface is the most important thing so far. All the major stuff works and it cooks, but weve had to have a couple of minor repairs done to it within the first month.

I had a Viking for a dozen years, and I wanted to fill the space where it came out, so I got another Viking refrigerator that is about the same model to fit back into the built-in site. The people at the Viking dealer were very professional and knowledgeable. My experience of getting a new one, getting it put in, and getting it working was about as painless as it could have been given that the people who came out to do it have to come up to a condominium setting in downtown San Francisco which is not trivial. This particular Viking fits my needs because of the space I have to put in. I like its size and how it looks. Its a good size refrigerator, its narrow, and the width of it is 24 inches out so it doesnt stick out in the room. It does a good job. The first one should have lasted longer than it did. I had three major repairs in the last three years of it. I hope this next one would last longer.

I knew about Viking Ranges from back in the days that it’s a high-end commercial range. I like that it’s easy to clean and take apart. I like the aesthetics, the way it feels and looks, as well and it seems good quality. Its industrial quality is my favorite. Ive used my range and have gone back to the department store. I looked at the lower-end models and the integrity of the material isn’t there, like the grill grates and the griddle. Everything is just built a lot better on the Viking gas range.

We purchased this unit, Viking Refrigerator DDSB423SS, when we remodeled ou
We purchased this unit, Viking Refrigerator DDSB423SS, when we remodeled our kitchen in September of 2006 at a cost of $6,000! We also purchased the 5 year extended warranty. We have had ongoing issues with the unit, but most recently it has become unbearable. On Feb 17, 2012, the unit stopped cooling. Everything in the freezer melted. I contacted Carl Schaedel & Co, the authorized repair company in my area. They could not come to diagnose the problem until 11 days later, February 28th. When they came, I had to pay them $189 for the service call. I then received a call from the office indicating that it was a problem with the sealed system, and that the cost of parts and labor to repair the unit was covered under the manufacturer’s warranty, but my $189 fee was not returnable. Furthermore, the first available appointment to come to do the repair was three weeks later, March 19th! Mind you, both my husband and I work for a living, so in addition to not having a refrigerator, we have to take time off from work to deal with this. On March 19th, 2012, the service man came and replaced the mother board. The refrigerator appeared to be working after the mother board was installed. He told me to wait 24 hours before using, which we did. After 24 hours it seemed okay, it was making ice etc. So, I went grocery shopping and purchased $175 worth of fresh and frozen items, put them in the unit and 6 hours later, I opened the freezer and everything had melted. Furthermore, now there appears to be a broken gasket, which was not broken prior to the service call, so the door is not sealing properly when closed. On March 21, my husband called Carl Schaedel again. At this point, he was angry and frustrated so he gave the long list of issues over the years and then indicated that the March 19th repair did not fix the problem and he also mentioned the broken gasket. It took 8 days to get another service call. On March 28, a different repair person came to the house. He walked in to the house and within 30 seconds said that it’s not a problem with the mother board, it’s something else. But he did not have the part on the truck. He will have to order the part! He did however have the new gasket which he put on the door and then told my husband to pay him for that since its not covered under warranty! My husband made him put the broken gasket back on. Why on earth would we pay for a repair to a refrigerator we cant use anyway? So today is March 30. I have just gotten off the phone with Carl Schaedel customer service rep again, asking when the tech will come to do the repair. I was told that she does not have the report from the tech yet, that it usually takes 24 hours. Okay, well its been 36 hours. I am now waiting for her to call me back, to tell me when they will come and whether or not it is covered under the warranty! We have been without a fridge for 6 weeks now. We have two kids and have been living out of a cooler! Doing our best to shop for breakfast and lunch items that dont require refrigeration but dinners have been tough, so we have been eating out most nights which we cannot afford! We also have a Viking 6 burner range which also had problems and had to be repaired several times, but that is another long story and my major concern right now is the fridge, as the situation is really debilitating. We are, beside ourselves and after reading the numerous other complaints, it appears we are not alone. Is there nothing that can be done? I am sure the CEO of Viking is very well to do, at the expense of us consumers. I have seen references to a class action suit. I am willing to participate, will even take a leadership role in making it happen, but I have no idea how to go about this. Can anyone assist? Please?!

I replaced the range I had and bought two Viking Ranges. It was attractive and it was exactly what I was looking for. Their reps were very nice and accommodating and Im completely satisfied with the quality of their product. However, Ive had a lot of things going on so I havent used them that much. I may have used the oven once and the burners, half a dozen times on one of them and I havent even used the other one at all, which is in my lower level kitchen. Also, there was no timer built into the stove or the range at all so I didn’t have anywhere to give timed cooking. I didn’t think about it when I got it and I guess its part of the professional type atmosphere or professional type product they were trying to portray. But the features I like the best right now is the knobs, the way the knobs feel. That was one of the reasons I didn’t like my previous range. Moreover, the wrap on the stove for shipping was so difficult to remove. The delivery team wanted to get it in and get out of there and deliver. I couldn’t let them bring it in and set it where it belongs until I had all that plastic off. I had to pay the two drivers to help me get the stuff off. I could have never done it myself. And even when it was over with I still felt like I could see remnants of it in the corners and where the metal meets the metal. And then inside the range, they used white tape on the bar of the racks on either side so that they won’t move under shipment. I was sweating on the floor trying to get that tape off of there. Maybe they can use a zip tie or something that you could just cut with the scissors. I sell expensive merchandise and one of the things that is required of us is that we contact the customers within a couple of days to see how they are enjoying their new product. It has been a month since I got the stuff so I was wondering if they were ever gonna contact me. I did go right online and registered them right away on their website because I felt that was important that they have that registration. So, I was surprised that I never got anything, even a thank you letter in the mail, not that I needed it. But to me, that was something I thought a company like that would do for when youre buying a high line product like that. Many companies send thank you notes when you do business with them for the smallest things much less a major purchase like this. I wasn’t expecting they send me a dozen roses, but I was expecting something. Nonetheless, its a good product and Im very happy with it. That wouldn’t make me not buy another one.

The Viking Range is really good and I like their burner power feature. However, we ended up getting one that we didnt even buy which is the appliance dealers fault. But trying to get the griddle and our money back has been a chore and we have been at it for two months and cant understand why it hasnt been done. Everything I put in it, either in the vegetables part or the upper part, is freezing. Everything in the back is freezing. I like the quality of the Viking and they seemed to be the only one of the few who had the type of configuration we wanted. Our Viking fridge is great and it works well for what we need. It has a lot of space, and the space is very well designed overall. I bought the unit at Pacific Sales in Best Buy, and it took a while to order a Viking from them. The dealer doesn’t usually have them in stocks. I had to wait for two weeks for them to be available. The installation process was a bit of a journey of its own. The people in the store did their best but they are not very knowledgeable about what exactly was needed for the installation. But the people who installed the unit were really knowledgeable. They came to my house four times, so I got to know them a bit. What they do is they install high-end appliances, and theyre the ones who know exactly what needs to be done and in what order. So, I think it will be better if customers like us can speak to somebody that is knowledgeable after we purchased, so they can tell us exactly what to do because theres a complexity in terms of the water line and where the power outlet needs to be.So, this company came to my house four times during the course of two weeks. One time, we were missing a part. And then they came, and they couldn’t install it because we didn’t have the right cabinet dimensions in. I, as a consumer, could have saved a lot of time if I just had one phone call with somebody who would explain things to me and give me the specific details. When you buy a piece of equipment that is $12,000, a phone call like that should be granted. If I was buying a $1,000 refrigerator, I wouldn’t expect that type of service. Other than that, Im very satisfied with the product and I would recommend Viking.

This came with a hefty price tag but I was over the moon. A few issues with the appliance company, that was a little over 5 yrs ago. Then May 2014, out of warranty we were told by Viking and had to replace the motherboard in both ovens!!! To the tune of over $500. Viking had issues with this problem so extended warranty slightly on newer ovens, so they were aware of problems in past ovens. Fast forward 2 yrs and both ovens are down again. Big pop and smoke. Im not very satisfied for the price I paid. The refrigerator has some issues. I have spoken to customer service and the year was going by and I thought I need to call them again. The refrigerator freezes food in the refrigerator area. But even at the bottom of the refrigerator, Im starting to see some sort of accumulation. The maintenance people are not very familiarized because the rep told me that down where Im from, there are not many people that own Viking. But the lady that does also had the same issues of food freezing. The handles are very wobbly. I constantly have to tighten them up. It doesnt have a feature in the ice machine where it stops after it feels that it has made enough ice. For such an expensive and quality brand, those features would have been looked into. They had to also repair, just within purchase, the deli meat door because it was off. It was crooked. Right away, they sent the deli door. But the guy hasnt even called me. It was leaking so it damaged our floor. I still have to file an insurance claim for that. I think there was a damaged part, and when I had a claim, the company wasn’t expedient in their response.

I bought a house and it had an older Viking range and a Bosch dishwasher. I needed to replace my refrigerator so I wanted it to be Viking. I chose Viking because I wanted it to match the stove. Besides, Bosch did not have as good reviews as Viking. And I was a bit limited as I live in a very old house and it’s a standalone refrigerator. It’s not a built-in and there aren’t a lot of those high-end available and Viking had a nice one. So I purchased the refrigerator through Best Buy and they were very nice. They didnt have the refrigerator on the showroom floor and this guy named Ryan found it for me when I told him exactly what I needed. When I bought the French Door refrigerator, it was fine. I like the way it looks, as well as its lighting. But then it began making high-pitch tinging noise that was driving me crazy. I had an appliance guy come in to check it and I pointed it out and he took a video and told me that its no good. It was not the fan which a lot of people thought. The fan makes a fine sound. Almost a comforting sound. But this was a metal on metal and it was the condenser. They put me in touch with Viking and they sent out a technician and he put some sound deadening material on the condenser which has solved the problem. Thing is, it should be designed that way in the first place. Its silly. And also right there in the back of the fridge is a crazy piece of cardboard which doesn’t make any sense. It should be a metal panel. But overall, its a very nice fridge with a very good price. I would recommend Viking.

We have had the thing since 1999 and it has never lived up to what it was cracked up to be. It does no good to call Viking. When they first answer the phone, you will think you are on a straight track to be taken care of, but once you get to the source, all you will get is the runaround. The oven has had trouble a number of times, it is always the igniters that are bad. As for the broiler, we just learned to live without one, it will not last long when they change the igniter for some reason. What I dont understand is how this company is still in business? There needs to be someone to start a class action suit against this company. The burners work, but there is no such thing as low. If you turn something to low, it will still burn whatever you are trying to cook. All the heat is on the outside edge of the burner. Our Viking range model number is VGIS360BDSS, serial number R06289813435. I would not advise anyone to buy such a piece of high price junk.

Viking double oven ved0207css - I am writing this review in search of a remedy. In hopes to be able to amend my experience to 5 stars! Residential estate has all Viking Professional appliances down to four fridges, range, oven etc. All other appliances work fantastic! This leads me to a double oven that has been causing some issues. The lower oven will not heat up. The fan will command on when it is turned on but will not do anything else. Not sure where to start. Please help Viking. I can explain in more depth if needed. Thank you in advance for your Time. Lets make it 5 stars soon.

We got a Viking refrigerator that was a brand new floor model even though I’m a die-hard Sub-Zero girl and I only like Sub-Zero. If I would have paid about $10,000, then I wouldn’t have been super thrilled. Then during delivery, we got a leaking seal on the freezer that we needed to deal with. But I haven’t dealt with that yet and I’m assuming that’s under warranty. Also, if they were gonna sell a $10,000 fridge, then they have to make sure that it has dual compressors where one gets the fridge and the freezer. So while I’m not super happy with the Viking, its overall quality of the refrigeration is good. My produce seems to keep not quite as long as the Sub-Zero but the Viking is better than a standard refrigerator one buys at Home Depot. The lighting is also very bright and good.

We purchased our apartment last year and everything was installed already. It’s all Viking. We’re quite happy with the equipment. Everything is working smoothly and the range is great although we have an issue with the noise. It took me really long to have the technician come over, which was probably a few months but he came and looked at it. He said that it was a manufacturer issue so, he put a few bolts on the back. The noise is still there but it’s less. I like that the microwave is spacious and then, my stove is good. The oven is okay too, even though I prefer to have an even bigger oven. The fridge with a French door freezer is big too but I will benefit more if the freezer compartment would be larger, but it’s okay. We still fit it. We’re just a family of five people but we need more space.

I bought a Viking Induction Range and dishwasher in June 2010 and the left side burners do not work now, May 2012. On August 12, the new parts needed to be replaced again. This piece of junk is putting Viking products mildly. I threw out the $3,000.00 dishwasher after the fire (in the dishwasher) and bought Miele. I’m thinking of doing the same for this one.

Beware of purchasing Viking Appliances!!! We purchased a Viking Range, double oven and beverage from Macon Appliance Store in Franklin, NC and spent almost $18,000 only to find out that Viking only carries a 2 year warranty. We had Blossom Gas come out to inspect our gas and they discovered there was a leak coming from the gas range. We contacted Macon Appliance and a repairman contacted us and set up a service call. It was discovered that the gas range had a gas leak and parts were ordered. On 10/31/19 the serviceman returned with the parts to repair our gas range. It was at this time that he informed us that we owed $670.00 because the 2 yr warranty had expired. Needless to say I was livid as what company sells such expensive appliances with a 2 yr warranty. The appliances were delivered in Aug 2017 but our home was not completed until the later part of September. I have also read other reviews from customers that had the same problem with a gas leak so this is obviously a problem with Viking gas ranges yet your company wants to gauge customers that are paying high prices for these appliances with a warranty that is worth nothing. Even Lowe’s, Home Depot and other companies offer a 5 yr warranty and much better service. I will NEVER purchase another Viking appliance again and will ensure that I let people know about the terrible quality of service that Viking provides. It is a shame that a company like yours takes people for their money. I contacted your customer service to report this only to speak with a representative that was rude. I asked her to have a supervisor contact me and I never received a callback. I am also contacting the BBB to report this matter!

Viking is got a good name and I liked the size of the burners. The range is dual fuel, which is what I wanted. Right now, there’s a very narrow slot in the back of the range for the gas piping. If that slot could be made larger, it would make it easier to conceal the piping. Viking could also put in a smaller burner. Because right now, youve got four large burners, and sometimes you only got to cook with a small pan. But I like the ignition. It lights up really quick. Its a good stove.

I used to work in restaurants. I’ve known Viking for years, and I love the quality of their ranges. From having a noncommercial unit previously they work better. The oven makes heating temperatures more exact. It cooks more evenly. The burners are designed to where they actually just operated at a different level, a higher level. I would recommend it. You wouldn’t be disappointed, and youd be happy with it. Theres definitely a difference between a commercial unit and the standard gas range that you could buy anywhere.

My friend had a Viking range and I liked it. I like the look and feel of them, the professional grade and quality. Those have been questionable, however. The stovetop works fine but the oven never worked right and it took me a long time to finally get a service tech out. He came last week and ordered the parts, so I’m waiting for them. I bought the oven stove brand new online for $5,000, yet it hasn’t been working for a month and a half now. I heard and I saw consumer feedback bashing the maintenance support but despite that, I bought it because it was something I wanted. I figured it is high quality and it won’t need that much work, but it has turned into that already, so theres a little buyer’s remorse. I buy something high-end like that and I expect good service, and I havent seen that so its disappointing. I’ve since gone to Wolf and I checked it out, and their product support is over the top. If I had to do it all over again, I’d probably go with Wolf.
