Our Viking Professional Kitchen included an under counter bar fridge. It worked for less than a month before needing repairs. About every three months after that, it would suddenly just stop working. Parts for repair would take up to a month and a half. I tried talking to Viking but they would not accept that this product was a lemon and maintained that it was covered by warranty (so why should I complain). They didnt get the issue was that we paid way more for a high-end product that worked for only a few months total out of the first year. It has been repaired a half dozen times now (appears to be a poorly designed electronics control - not a compressor).Fortunately, we purchased extended warranty as the same problem has occurred again. Once again, its a month or more waiting for parts. Our Extended warranty is over this fall. If something goes wrong after that, then we are on our own. I will toss it and buy another brand. No problem with any other Viking products, but based on the terrible Viking corporate response, I would not buy from them again. Wolf /Sub-Zero is a better combination if you are springing for high-end appliances.

I used to be a restaurant owner so Ive always known what a great product Viking gives out. My daughter is a chef so shes heard of them, and we have some friends that have Viking. Everything was great. The Viking dealer was very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The range is perfect and has excellent quality. It was sturdy, perfectly flamed, and keeps the temperature. All is very good, and its a stove that I only buy once in a lifetime. Everything I need as a cook is there, and I dont need to buy anything else.

Viking makes very good appliances. Haven't had any major issues with it. But their warranty is excellent. For some reason the door mechanism wears out and has to be replaced every 4 to 5 yrs. Service tech will replace it in about 30 minutes, no charges.

I wanted to get a really good refrigerator that would last a long time. I know Vikings top of the line products and so weve purchased refrigerators from them. Our first one had a water dispenser on the inside of the door. When we tried using the dispenser it wouldnt work as the water line kept freezing up. We ended up getting another refrigerator but a different model without a water dispenser, which is what we really wanted. The second one worked fine and then it stopped making ice. A service guy came out five times, replaced the ice maker twice, replaced the track twice and he said the water line was fine but he couldnt understand why its not making ice. So hopefully, this third refrigerators a charm. I hope it stays working and it seems to be fine. It makes some weird noises sometimes. It probably has something to do with the water line and the connection for the ice maker. But other than that, its producing ice. So far, so good.

Well, in the event that a Viking representative would ever read these reviews, I thought I would add our experience. We have a 48 side by side professional unit which, thank heavens, the previous owners paid for, not us. I would definitely give 1 star if we were the ones out $11,000... The day we moved in there was a puddle of water on the floor under the freezer side. Since that day - 6 months ago - we have had a technician out 4 times for the same problem. He has tried multiple solutions. One day the freezer just quit working. So much ice had built up inside that the fan broke. Now the second fan has broken. The contents of our freezer have just melted for the second time. We eventually said, Forget the ice maker! Who needs ice?! Just disconnect the water from the freezer! And today, again, the freezer is dead and water is puddling on the floor. Its a mystery to us, and obviously the technician. Since we cant afford to replace this beast - and dont really want a gigantic built-in space with a tiny-looking regular fridge in it - we are going to buy a freezer for our garage and just use the fridge side! Maybe I can use the freezer to store extra light bulbs and paper towels...I will never buy Viking!

Viking has a long history, good quality, and beauty, so we decided to get a range, and it is superb and beautiful. My wife is in love with it, so’ I’m very jealous of it. We like how it cooks. It’s so even, and it doesn’t need much gas on it. So, it’s a very nice cooking experience. I’m very satisfied with the range. However, I would like to add a thermometer in the oven because we don’t know what the temperature is. We had an electric oven before, and we set it up to a certain temperature and that will do it. However, it is a different experience with gas. So, I dont see a reason why they shouldnt put a thermometer on it. Other than that, the range is very good. And their representatives were wonderful and supportive.

My wife wanted a Viking range and the quality of the equipment turned out to be fantastic. The kids and my wife do all the cooking and they love working on it. The BTU that Vikings have warmed up things a lot quicker. I would recommend Viking Ranges. The dealers that we went to were good, however, I don’t think they knew their equipment that much. We already knew what we wanted and I went with some questions like if we should go with a smaller or bigger and they couldnt answer it. They didn’t seem to be extremely sharp at it. They told me to go with the bigger motor and asked me why would I go with the small one but that was why we were asking.

I had a frustrating and disappointing experience with Viking Ranges. I chose it because of the style and cost but the range I received was horrible. The first time I used it, I turned on the burners and then I turned on the oven. Underneath the burner, it exploded into a flame so I got a fire extinguisher and put it out. I called Viking and they sent out a repairman. He looked at it and he said that the range was a total loss so they arranged to have it replaced. When they came out to replace it, they arranged the time with me.The night before the agreed time, they called me on a robocall and told me a different time. So I called them back and I said, Ive already arranged to meet at the time we agreed. They called back and said, No, we cant do that. They said that the only way I can arrange the time is to wait til 24 hours before theyll tell me when the time would be. Thats hard to do if youre working so that was a hassle. So I said, I dont know what to do because I cant meet that time you want cause Ive already arranged with my work to be the other time, which we already agreed to, well, I already made the appointment. That was a week earlier and they said at that time it was fine to have the time that we arranged. So I did, then they said they didnt have another day when they could tell me when they could come back. They called me an hour later and said, Okay, we can meet your original time. They came and replaced my range.Viking’s customer service reps were fine but their service people were a hassle because of the scheduling. The actual service man who came out was fine. What happened was very dangerous. The repairman even said that if I turned on the oven first, let it go for a long time and then turn the burner on, there could have been an explosion. But I had the burner on first and then I turned the oven on so all it did was catch fire underneath the burner. My Viking Range works fine now. Its just that I got a really bad Viking Range in the beginning.

Given my understanding of the quality of Viking, the fact that they had a freestanding refrigerator that would fit in my space and the configuration that I really liked, I went with the brand. The fan of the Viking refrigerator we purchased was annoyingly loud. I have very sensitive hearing and it’s getting me crazy. We also purchased a Viking Range which I like it, but I had some issues with it. And they were not able to completely resolve it without tearing out the range and putting a new one in. When I had service on it, the gentleman said that the very low thats almost like a buzzing sound was just normal for the refrigerator. It sound like I have a constant bumblebee in my home. When I was choosing what refrigerator to buy, I’ve heard nothing but grief from people who are dealing with Sub-Zero, so that eliminated that one immediately. And the other two that I was familiar with were Viking and Thermador. I have a Thermador range in my second home and I’m not thrilled with it so I eliminated that. So I went with Viking and was holding my breath when I did. However, I was misled by the salesman. It was a significant purchase that was almost $12,000. He led me to believe that we were going to get 10% off our purchase back based on the program that Viking was running. But when I read the fine print of the information, that obviously was not the case and I haven’t even had a chance to submit my paperwork. But all in all, I had a good experience as far as the refrigerator, the delivery and the installation were concerned.

I did a lot of research on the internet on various high-end stoves and I looked to see about the problems with repairs. I knew that Viking was having a lot of issues before it was bought out a few years ago, but I saw that they had redone a lot of the parts and re-designed them. Their newer reviews were fine, too. They were pretty similar to the other high-end stoves. So, my wife decided Viking was the one she liked the most based on the way it looked. However, there was a scratch which was fairly deep on the stove door. It was installed about a month ago and I didn’t notice until right after the installers left. I was looking at the back of the stove when they took it off the truck. So I called up the store and sent them a picture right away. They acknowledged that it was obviously a problem because its not caused by me. I suggested they just send me a door and I would replace it myself as it is easy to install. I would just send them the old one if they wanted to. But Viking wouldn’t do that for some reason. They sent me a whole new stove. We also got side trim because we have a stone countertop that didn’t have a perfectly straight edge. The side trim makes the stove look like a slide-in type range. We couldn’t use the screws to install the side trim because they stick out and we can’t fit in a normal countertop within a 30-inch distance. It was kind of odd, but it’s no big deal. We just used the side trim and laid it in there, and it worked fine. Other than those, everythings fine. My wife is happy with the Viking stove. She loves it. We like the top of the stove the most. Also, when I had a question about how to remove the lower grate, the Viking rep answered the question right away.

I bought all Viking appliances. They are all 1 1/2 years old. The refrigerator doors are rusting! The range continues to go in self clean mode when Im trying to cook so I cannot use it and the dishwasher has such a foul odor! I live alone and barely have used the appliances and Im so disappointed in my decision to go with Viking. I should have stuck with GE monogram. They were much better.

Agreed Viking appliances are 100% crap! I have 4 of them. All over $7000.00 each and they have all failed many times. Control boards in the all fridge model and the gas ovens do not light or function correctly, and in some cases not at all. The burn tubes are HAND drilled like from the 40s!!! Basically like some kid with a hand drill trying to drill the gas holes into a tube so it might work! Unreal. The service guy has been out 8 times to try and make it light correctly! The fridge, what a total waste of $7000.00!!! If and when it cools it will freeze the food or just alarm or stop cooling at +14 degrees c! This Viking crap has ZERO consistency and is RUBBISH! Even the Viking toaster had to be returned as it failed the first DAY!

When we went looking for a refrigeration system for Thanksgiving the salesperson showed us different brands and the Viking appealed to us. My wife liked the configuration of the shelves inside. She also likes the openness of this refrigerator. Its not cluttered and we could adjust the shelves. Diana, the person I dealt with at Viking, was super. The only thing is that they were so busy that they couldnt deliver the refrigerator so I went to pick it up.However, were having trouble with the icemaker. The refrigerator takes a couple of days for it to generate. It was making a little bit of ice and then all of a sudden it didn’t make ice. So we called the repair facility and that was not a happy thing for me because we had to find different dealers that would service Viking. We finally found one and they came out and worked on it. But after four days it had spit out about five ice cubes and that was it. We had the repair technician come out again and he said that theyll order a new one. I said okay and were waiting for the part to come in. Viking Refrigerators is one of the best ones a person could get. The biggest features would be its reliability and functionality.

My husband enjoys cooking. We were looking at other ranges all around the same price and we found Viking. It was on sale at the store and we were saving a couple of thousand bucks. So far, it seems it has a good quality. I like the blue light that lights up the knobs. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to see what I’m doing. I also like the way the racks inside the oven slide nicely. The sales rep was friendly. But after the purchase was made my husband had a few questions, and they weren’t so quick to talk to him or call him back like they were before the purchase. Also, I find it odd that it doesn’t have a self-cleaning oven. When I turn the burners on they don’t always ignite and burn evenly the way I would expect them to. I do the baking and seeing that it’s Christmas, I’ve been making cookies that I can only bake in the middle rack. It’s funny because in all the advertisements they show a door opens full of all kinds of goodies on all three levels, and I can’t cook that way. I have the middle rack and that’s it. Anything on top or bottom burns. And they’re not removable racks, except for the middle one. The top and the bottom are on roller slide, that’s why they move so easily. I can’t just pull it out and move it up or down.

In 2012 we replaced a 14 year-old JennAir oven and microwave, which were old but working fine, with what we thought were upgraded Pro Viking products. We are sorely disappointed with both but I will focus on the microwave for now. VMOS201SS with trim kit came to over $1000 with taxes and looked lovely. However, the control pad is impossible to clean and the microwave oven, after 4 years of moderate use for reheating only, works intermittently. Sometimes it works... sometimes it is dead. Apparently there is a switch in the door that is malfunctioning. Repair company that services Viking charged $160 to look at it and ordered a new part from Sharp, who manufactured this piece of junk. That was in early January. I am writing this in mid March with no part in sight. Repair company is not at fault. Viking is stalling sending the part. It is not worth replacing the part at this point so I will reuse the trim kit and order from a different manufacturer. Frigidaire FGMO205KF looks like it will fit and has good reviews. I will never buy another Viking product.

I owned a 48-inch Thermador that we bought 20 years ago. Some of the burners were going out, and so we started researching for a new one. I bought my Viking range on the 27th of July. When I got my range, I never got a manual. I called and spoke with a gal. She told me I could download it. Its like 30 something pages. I paid $12,000 for a range and theyre telling me I need to download 30 something pages for me to have a manual? After fighting with me, she said she would have someone send me a manual. But Ive never received a manual. I like my range though and I definitely like it better than my Thermador. Its easier to clean too.

When we remodeled our kitchen I decided to purchase all Viking appliances based on their reputation, and I thought they were built in the US. I have had issues since day one and have never really had anything resolved satisfactorily by Viking. My double oven has slow heating up times, uneven cooking, even on convection, and now has issues with the digital timer. My biggest disappointment however is the refrigerator. I was so excited to have a large all refrigerator in my kitchen. It has had multiple cooling problems since day one. I think the real problem has never been diagnosed and is now so bad that it is not fixable. I have spent over $2000 on repairs and it still doesnt work. The door is simply too heavy for the hinges and will not close in the top left corner. This produces massive condensation on the inside which freezes. It also causes uneven cooling where my vegetables in the crisper at the bottom are frozen and the milk on the middle shelf is warm. We have replaced the gasket and adjusted the hinges but it simply will not close the gap. This is a design problem. Disgraceful for a product that cost over $7000. As of yet Viking seems on interested in resolving a problem. They are certified repair company has said that they are unable to help any further.

Gas Range model VGCC5366BSS installed Oct. 2013. Oven continually failed due to fried control module. The module was replaced over a dozen times, and during one period where we were waiting for parts, the company installed a temporary 30 range of the same model, and it failed within 2 months for the same reason. The repairman set up surge protectors, ran a new electrical circuit, had the utility monitor for electrical surges, and had us use a door wedge to hold the oven door tightly closed (the last theory was that heat was escaping from the oven and burning the circuit board). I just found out today (not from Viking!), that there is a huge recall on Viking and Brigade freestanding gas ranges (US & Canada), including my model. Go to Consumer Product Safety Commission (US), or Healthycanadians.gc.ca.

I am only writing this review here because I see that Viking actually monitors this and sometimes responds. The salesman at Pacific Sales was pushing this brand over others and especially over Sub Zero, stating that they are owned by a new company and the customer service has become much better. I have written to Viking three times, 11/15, 11/22, and again around 11/30 to tell them to pound sand. Since it had been 15 days with zero response to my requests from them, they clearly arent interested in my business. The saddest part is that my second response was to have a representative look at my existing appliance, and that I may choose to just replace it, depending on the quote they offered. Nothing from them. I refuse to consider spending $10k on a refrigerator with a company who cant answer two different requests after 15 days. I guess they dont need my money, so Ill spend more at SZ when this one finally dies.UPDATED ON 03/25/2018: The Viking refrigerator that I had broke down and I replaced it with the same one. I did not want to spend over $10,000 on a refrigerator except that the hole in my house fits that one and it was more affordable than the Sub-Zero. I really wanted the Sub-Zero, but I didn’t want to spend an extra $6,000. Vikings website is terrible. If you put in a request for information on their website and submit the button, you do not get a response. I was looking for somebody to service the broken refrigerator and to check it out because maybe I didnt need to replace it. But they did not respond and I had to go to the website to complain about them. They reached out to me through the website and told me that they dont have access to the the account that those emails go to since the new company bought them a few years ago. I told them that they need to update their website so they could have access. They apologized but they never pointed me to any person who could come and check my refrigerator. Their customer service is nonexistent and I’m banking on the warranty that I have with the store that I purchased the refrigerator from and the reps that they have there.

What I liked about Viking was the unwavering quality but I dont think thats true anymore. The Viking appliances that I have that were supplied with the apartment are of a much lower quality than I had come to expect from them. Theyre only a couple of years old but Im not happy with them. Im very disappointed with Viking and Im looking to replace the appliances that I have. With the open burner range, it feels very rickety and I have to take it apart to clean it quite often. But Im fearful about cleaning it. Looking inside, there are these loose wires and I need to clean the inside very carefully for fear that I will dislodge some wire or something. Also, I have a dishwasher and a microwave that have failed and the refrigerator freezes milk but doesnt have even temperature regulation. They replaced the microwave fairly quickly but when the dishwasher broke, I was without a dishwasher for almost two months. Viking seems to be able to replace things, but they dont seem to be able to fix things.

My battle with my Viking product began 8 yrs ago. We bought a new with new appliances. All Viking. Living 8 yrs with this refrigerator has been like living in the 1800s. We have had our ice maker break 3 times. Hinges break. But the biggest problem is the food staying fresh. Mainly because the only choice in cooling for this refrigerator is Lukewarm and rotten food or your eggs yogurt and all food frozen. I am writing this once again because I own a very expensive refrigerator and without and help this company has not recalled this lemon of a product. The frustration level is so bad I had to take to Facebook last time I sought out help for this problem. I then made friends with people in Vancouver Colorado and Brazil all whom had the same problems and the company took back their refrigerator. They sent me repair man and blocked me from their social media. But I still continue to have Massive problems with this refrigerator.Ice maker once again broken. Broken shelving and cooling problems begin to plague me once again. Imagine your danger comes home from college has surgery before the holidays and you take out the large tub of yogurt frozen solid. You like to drink cranberry juice frozen solid. Take something off a different shelf moldy. It is almost impossible to deal so I go buy a garage refrigerator to try to survive the holidays. I will never purchase a Viking product again and when Im in store I do walk up to complete strangers and tell them to run from this product. It saddens me because I would love to support a company made in the USA. I just would like a company to stand by this and make good.

In 2006 I purchased a 36 4 burner with griddle range, the under counter dishwasher, the large Viking fridge and outdoor pit - all Viking. I strongly recommend staying away from all Viking appliances. I have been dissatisfied with every single one of these appliances! They are very expensive and I am now on a first name basis with my repairman. When I attempted to contact Viking, their customer service was beyond inept. They never ever returned my phone calls and when I reported this to the BBB, I finally got a response. After a long discussion, I was supposed to get a return phone call. Well 3 months went by, then 6, then 12. I reported it to the BBB again. So lo and behold, I got a phone call. Nothing was done. There was excuse after excuse. Regardless of money, there are better alternatives to Viking. Talk to your local appliance repair company and they will tell you who to look at and who to avoid. I promise that they will not recommend Viking. Proceed with caution.

We had to wait a couple of weeks before they were able to come out and look at it. The guy comes out and confirms that the fridge doesnt work. He wasnt sure what was wrong and had to order some parts. Weeks and weeks and weeks went by and they are still not scheduled to come back to install what they ordered. Plus, the dealer was horrible.

Viking has top quality and I love it. Also, it’s simple to use. I had a LG previously and it had all the million different settings and bells and whistles, but I never used any. I also had a LG refrigerator that was a lemon and it stopped working after about a year and a half, and the dealer was really difficult to work with. But every call that I made to Viking so far has been answered right away and they’ve been very helpful. I called them once to get the correct model numbers for the product registration and then I also did two follow-up calls to the parts department because my 1-year old slammed into the freezer and dented it. So, I had to order the freezer door. And it was really easy to do. I would highly recommend them.

The tech said that the first Viking range we got looked like it was dropped
The tech said that the first Viking range we got looked like it was dropped. Thats the only thing that would explain the problems with the oven cavity being kind of out of kilter. The rep I spoke to about it got kind of snappy with me and said that the tech was not telling me the truth. Also, the range wasnt level. The island vent was up higher on one side than the other and it stood out like a sore thumb. They tried to level it and the only way they could do it was in such a way that the tile backsplash behind it, with the grout lines running across horizontally. And one of the igniters was bent in to touch the burner and the tech said that because of that, it would not ignite. They replaced the range. They brought the new range in but it has the same problem as far as the back in the island grill not being level with the tiles behind it in the backsplash. The tech came out and he said the guys that installed it screwed up. He was able to level it and it looks fine. But the oven door is also off exactly the same as the first range was. We had a tech here last week for the fourth time. He tried everything, as far as tweaking the door hinges to see if he loosened the hinge screws and tried to move that oven door over to see if that would indeed get some clearance. He was able to improve it a little bit, but its still clearly wrong when you look at it from the top. Also, theres a kickplate that goes along the bottom of the range and when it was delivered, it was like it was knocked off of the little hooks that hold it in place. And it was scratched. He looked at the scratch and said they would replace that. He properly reattached it so it looked true and ordered a replacement part. But the replacement part was cut wrong and wouldnt fit. I still have the scratched kickplate. One more thing is the grates on top. There are three grates, one for each set of two burners, front to back. The one on the right was lower and was kind of dipped to the right side. The tech replaced the little stoppers that it sits on to see if that would make it work but it was still lower on the right side. He had to put washers in the brand-new range to make the grates level. This is their flagship 36-inch range. Its a $14,000 appliance. But the quality could not have been worse. We’re baffled. If I could do this all over again, I would not get a Viking product.

Just describing facts: you can judge if you want to go through this headache. Bought in 2011; Model # CVDSC548T64SS. First problem: noisy vibrating fan required between 2012 and 2013 several service. First replacement fan had same problem needing replacement again. Now, in 2015 (oven is just 4 years old!!) the Temperature selector switch not working. Needs to be replaced (cost 435 $ + tax + service call). The service company has had to change this part 4 times already for other customers. I called BRIGADE but they refuse to consider this a defect.Considering that this range costs at least 10,000$ I CAN NOT RECOMMEND SPENDING THIS MUCH MONEY FOR POOR QUALITY OF PRODUCT AND SERVICE. Just found out Viking no longer called Viking but BRIGADE! Daniel came a few times until June 6, 2013 to solve the problem of the noisy oven. Now Sep 11, 2015: control knob for temperature and mode not working clockwise only counter clockwise.

Ive always wanted Viking appliances and I got a really good deal. I did it through AJ Madison. It was a package, so I got the fridge, the range, the hood, and the dishwasher. The range is beautiful. I havent gotten to using it, but Im very excited. I love everything. It really fits my house. It looks like everything is really good quality. AJ Madison was pretty good on the Viking products. However, they had a convicted felon deliver my products and steal my stove. AJ Madison and the freight company they subcontracted out to didnt do background checks and they hired a felon. He unloaded my stove before he delivered it to my house and tried to tell me that he delivered it and didnt know where it went. But AJ Madison made it right.

We liked the Viking double oven that was available, so we got the Viking refrigerator to match the oven. I like the lights inside the ref. Theyre pretty cool. However, I did not have a very good experience with the Viking dealers. I had a lot of issues with Allstate Appliances, but the person I originally worked with there is no longer with them. But Ive had good experiences whenever Ive called in to Viking for problems. We had our handle going off, but its been fixed since then. The guy that came out to repair the handle was nice and good, and I really liked him.

We wanted a happy marriage of performance and utility so we figured wed buy Viking. One of the big things involved in my purchase was BTUs, the power of the burners. I had something which was similar but the Viking range outperformed anything that Ive ever used. Its so much more efficient. I also have their microwave and we’ve had zero issues with it. Were super happy with it. I had paid for installation and delivery because that was part of the whole package. But with COVID, they couldnt do it. I just got my handyman to come and install it and it was super easy. The performance has been amazing. I love cooking on it. Its one of those free-standing ranges. However, the convection oven button blew out in about a month which kind of surprised me. I had used it once. Once I turned the convection oven on, I could not turn itself off. It was still under warranty so I did call Viking. The people at Viking were amazing. They were like, “Yes, absolutely. Its all covered. Its a brand new appliance. That should have never happened.” The service technicians that they contracted out to, not so much. I live in Austin and it took them forever. It ran for two days straight before they could come out and turn it off. Then they told me that there was some circuit that was broken so they needed to order a part. They came out and said they had the part. Five minutes later, the guy said it was the wrong part and left. I received no communication to the point where I had to reach out to Viking. I wrote them a very lengthy email saying, “Im not happy. This is not what I expected out of a premium product. This may not be you directly, but this is your contractor. I havent heard from them. Theres no timeline and its been months. Finally, it got fixed after multiple trips three weeks ago. That was not super nice.

I’ve known of the Viking brand off and on for years. We were getting ready to renovate our kitchen and I like Vikings brand reputation. Plus there was a really good package deal that the store offered, in which we would get either a microwave or a dishwasher for free. The reps at this store were also knowledgeable overall and very accommodating. We’ve only had the range installed and working for about two and a half weeks and we really love it so far. It’s fast and very powerful. If you can afford Viking and are considering it, you should definitely get it.

We upgraded our kitchen with all Viking appliances a couple of years ago, and I have never been so disappointed in a product line. All of the major appliances (refrigerator, stove and dishwasher) had to be serviced within the first year. The refrigerator has been serviced twice, the dishwasher three times and Im waiting as I write this for a call back from the service technician whom I paid $400 for repairs last week. On a positive note, the microwave works fine, but the trim at the base fell off of it, so I threw it away. The trim, not the microwave.Obviously there is a quality control issue that I am told Viking is working to resolve. In the meantime, my problem is the availability of servicing. The closest and ONLY certified Viking repair technician is an hour away (though the closest Viking distributor is 10 minutes away). Even though my appliances are out of warranty, I still have to rely on a Viking repair tech because Viking makes it nearly impossible for anyone else to service their appliances. If they cant make the stuff work right, youd think that they might at least Make it possible to get it fixed, since its obviously not a rare occurrence. Maybe they want us to toss the stuff out and buy new? Never again.

Updated on 11/10/2021: I was prompted to respond to a previous review “privately” and feel my response should be “public” so I am requesting that this be linked to that previous complaint or minimally be made public as Viking’s public response was a deflection. The claim that it’s been sent to their escalation team is false as I have already been told by their in-house reps it’s been “escalated” for a the past week. Transparency is a good thing.Thank you for your response. After 9 months and numerous eta postponements I have been working with representatives within Viking aka Middleby Residential and have been told that our order was already expedited to your escalation team as of Tuesday November 9, 2021. In addition to speaking and emailing your internal representatives I have left a voice mail for Kevin ** -Viking President at ** to no avail. As of this evening 11/10/21 I have been emailed to direct all further inquires and questions to my local (NC) appliance dealer. Hmmm????? What??? I have filed formal complaints with BBB as well as this forum of ConsumerAffairs. I have also been contacted by Mississippi’s state Attorney Generals office today at 5:30 PM EST to provide them with more documentation. Which I will gather and forward tomorrow 11/11/21 -no problem. The issue at hand is: I AGREE WITH YOU that because of the upside down and unprecedented supply chain disruption the world has limped through the past two years demand is up and supply is down. Where we part is: y’all should be clear and truthful with your valued customers. Good grief we love your slate blues and your apple reds and would partner with you unflinchingly but when you deflect and push off candidness with punting etas month to month to month ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. You’ve had my $36,343.96 for 9 months and are asking to hold it without delivering for 10-11 or more months. 3 out 6 appliances I have received are defective or damaged and I’d like to have to parts expedited to the repairman you’ve scheduled.Be clear with your customers. Stop taking new orders on refrigeration products if you can’t fulfill them. Work on your current paid in full orders and field the questions your customers have. We’re all in this together. Quit hiding behind the retail and supply chain layers. Total looking forward to hearing from your escalation team personally. Make it a conference call and loop everyone in. Viking has all my contact information… I know Kevin ** Viking President does for sure.Original Review: We purchased a suite of 8 kitchen appliances from an authorized Viking dealer in Feb. 2021. Viking aka Middleby Residential requires customers to sign a contract acknowledging 16-20 week turnaround and payment in full. We complied knowing it would take longer than the stated eta due to the pandemic and unsettled supply chain as well as paid $36k in full at time of order. After 6 months of waiting I started to press for delivery so our contractors could wrap up our kitchen remodel. At the end of Sept (8 months later) I received 6 of the 8 Viking components and three (3) of them were defective or damaged; the built-in oven has a defective exterior cooling fan, the exhaust vent has a defective speed control knob and we forgave the dented side panel on the dishwasher as it is hidden (although it appeared to be damaged before packaging for shipment). The real problem is the non-delivery of the 36 5 series refrigerator and 18 7 series freezer. After many emails and phone calls this past week I spoke with a Viking inside rep (Hannah W) today and she conveyed Viking is unable to source grill kits for their entire 5 series refrigeration line and has no information on availability for the parts needed for the entire 7 series line of refrigeration. This is basically what we suspected since June and had been given vague excuses and phantom etas that came and went every 4 weeks. I have tried to email Kevin ** Vikings president without success so today I left a voicemail for him at ** with my contact information as he needs to hear his customers concerns first hand. How is it that this manufacturer can continue to place orders and demand payment in full on products they know they cannot supply?? Is this not deceit?? I have asked Viking to stop selling their refrigeration until all previous paid orders are completed. I have asked that they suspend their advertising of these units while knowing they do not have materials on hand to complete. I have also asked that they stop requiring 100% upfront payment knowing they cannot fulfill these orders and are basically able to use their customers cash as interest free loans.I have filed a grievance with the BBB and the state of Mississippis Attorney General Lynn Fitchs office stating the above issues. Had Viking been upfront in the beginning and honest about availability, adjusted their payment policies to reflect the uncertain supply capabilities and provided repair parts for defective shipped appliances this would have felt more like a partnership instead of a grab and go sales deal.

I was in real estate for some time. I’m into remodeling and I love interior design, so I’m aware of Viking Refrigeration. We just redid our entire kitchen and put all new Viking appliances, everything from oven to a huge cooktop to the refrigerator, downdraft, the dishwasher, and I am not overly pleased with the refrigerator. I called Viking directly and they sent somebody out and repaired a couple of the things that were wrong with the refrigerator. But the main problem that I still have, which is something that I need to make another phone call on, is the ice maker. The refrigerator is a French door with an under mount freezer and when I pull open the freezer door, the little metal handle that comes down to regulate when the ice maker is on and off almost rakes the ice. And so, it all falls out through the back of the freezer. I have to literally army crawl and break my arm to get my hands at the back to clear out the ice that’s fallen at the back on the floor of the freezer or else the freezer door does not close properly. I wonder how many tens of thousands of dollars did I spend on all those appliances. I should have gone back to my GE Profile. I’ve been really disappointed.

I had heard about the Viking range at the culinary school, and I got one because I really liked its performance. Ive had my Viking range since November and its really good. I like the open burner and that it has the two ovens, and I love to work with the griddle. But it was actually pretty rough with the team at the Viking dealer where I purchased it. I bought it from the website and they dropped it off, but they didnt install it, and it was here lying in my kitchen without the feet for a few weeks. I was going back and forth with them on the phone, asking them to come and install it because its a heavy range and I couldnt install it myself or with my husband. I remember that I was preparing this huge dinner for Thanksgiving with my family and we just ended up going to my in-laws house. Finally, they installed my range in the first week of December, almost four weeks after it was delivered. Despite that bad experience with the delivery, however, I will surely recommend Viking. The experience I had with my Viking range was amazing. Everybody said theyre very impressed with my range, and I love it. I love to cook and bake in it.

I’m an architect so I’m familiar with Viking Ranges through my profession. They had a promotion where they’re offering a free dishwasher with the range and that kind of sealed the deal. In terms of the quality of construction and the materials it weighs almost 400 pounds. My only issue was the control knob on the oven. Even though it’s a very sturdy unit the shaft that held that onto the actual control was made out of cast metal. I just thought personally it was a poor choice of materials but they are fixing it under warranty. It’s actually done through Viking and one of their local representatives. When I had the warranty issue I contacted Viking directly in Mississippi and they were responsive and they had the issue resolved in a day. They scheduled something within the day. I’m just currently waiting for the replacement part and then it’s going to be installed. I would recommend Viking Ranges. We were also looking at Sub-Zero but we heard that there was a lot of maintenance that needed to be done every year for their compressors. The people that we talked to said that Viking didn’t have that sort of maintenance requirement and we heard that Viking was really good. So, we went with them. We were also looking for something that was fairly wide and the one that we got from Viking was a pretty big unit. We have it for a while now and our experience has been good. Its quality is okay although some things get really frozen at the top of the refrigerator. There was also a squeak in the door, and people came out and fixed it. When we did a complete remodel of our kitchen in 2018 we purchased Viking range top, downdraft vent & dual wall ovens. Viking had a promotion going where they threw in the dishwasher. The dishwasher stopped working in late January 2019, about 8 months after installation. We called the Viking authorized appliance repair company. They sent a service tech out 8 days later. He informed us the dishwasher had a bad water pump and circuit board. Told us it would take a week or two to get replacement parts. Never heard back so after two weeks I called the service center and was informed the parts would be in late March which means were out of a dishwasher for over 2 months.I am a general contractor with over 40 years in the business and have never experienced a dishwasher failure. I guess that is why Viking is giving them away! I may go ahead and purchase a Miele and throw this Viking unit out. I dont know how Viking can justify two month wait times for parts. I purchased a home that was 1 year old with Viking fridge/freezer and Viking oven in 2005. We had problems with the defrost cycle of the freezer section, within a year of moving in. Ice would freeze up on the back of the freezer then defrost. I called an authorized Viking service to come and fix the problem. He came, used my hair blow dryer to melt the ice, made some adjustment and left. It happened again and again. The melting ice ruined my wood floor and I had to pay to get it replaced. Then a year later, the door started to hang crookedly. I decided to purchase a new Viking fridge/freeze, same type but newer for about $10,000. I also bought the extended warranty on it. Within 6 months, the first drawer cracked. I called the dealer and they told me my extended warranty would not cover broken drawers or shelves because that is considered wear and tear. I was completely annoyed. I tried to fix the drawer by crazy gluing it together. I also have red sticky tape wrapped around it to hold it together. I had to do the same with the cracked door shelf. Now 3 years later, I have three broken shelve doors and the broken drawer, all taped with red tape. It is absolutely disgusting the shabby quality of product that Viking builds. The oven that came with the house, the door became crooked too and doesnt close all the way. I had an authorized service come and see what could be done. Nothing! They no longer sell the hinge replacement part. I had the same problem with the printing on the oven panel too. It has worn off and I had to write the temperatures and the baking programs with a black magic marker! I also called them to find out what I could do about that and they said I would have to buy a new front panel! I am 56 years old and have had many fridges and ovens in my life. I have never had any problems with any of them. Most of them were about $1,500.00-$3000.00. I will never buy a Viking product and when I am in an appliance store, I try to stand by the Viking section for as long as I can and tell anyone considering buying a Viking to not do it! I tell them to read the reviews about Viking products first. I decided to add my review so that if I can save one person from wasting their money, I will then be a satisfied Viking customer!

Weve had our Viking fridge for five years now and our experience has been very good. We had a problem with the compressor and because its under warranty, we called Viking Refrigerators a few weeks ago to have the piece repaired, and we had a very good service. Initially, we were renovating the kitchen and we wanted a fridge that is not too deep and that is bigger than the standard and we thought that the Viking was the one we needed. We like that we can easily find things in the fridge because its only 24 inches in depth. The only thing is we were a bit disappointed with the cheap drawers because theyre plastic and everything was cracked. So for the price we paid for the fridge, the drawers should have been of a better quality. However, Ive been a little disappointed with some of the Viking products because I know it has got such a good reputation. The Viking refrigerator seems to be building up the ice cubes like you got a pull-out drawer. I really like the style of the double doors on top with the freezer at the bottom, but when I open the door for the freezer all the ice falls out the back of the tray. It was a brand-new kitchen when we got the condo and there was all this frost buildup. Evidently, somebody hadn’t put the shelves in right, so it pushed the door out a little bit. I had a Viking repairman come in and he fixed that and he said a lot of people had this complaint as the tray isn’t tall enough at the back of it. I guess Viking has done something to order a higher back on the ice tray to hold the ice cubes in. He said he ordered it. I had spoken to somebody at Viking and it seemed that the people that remodeled did not register any of the products. I had to get online as well as on the phone to register the products and that was a challenge as well. Im pretty efficient on the product code, yet it took about three days to get all the products registered through the website and for customer service to call me back and tell me, “Don’t put that number in. Leave that letter off.“ Viking customer service and repair was excellent. The customer service was very helpful getting back to me, double checking and calling me back. They were prompt and they were fine. It was just so odd about this logging in the product serial number and stuff and then not having to go through. The refrigerator was just good to average and I really like the bottom freezer. The refrigerator has a feature that has chilled water on it, but that’s something that I had no choice because the refrigerator came with it. Also, the refrigerator doors are not quite sturdy. It seems like when I open the double doors, everything seems to rattle and move around. But Ive never had a double door before since Ive had a KitchenAid with a bottom freezer and a big single door. So, maybe its just the nature of having the double refrigerator doors.

My husband is from Mississippi and everybody there has a Viking range. His mom had a Viking range and its just a family thing. I used to have a Thermador and I switched over to a Viking when my Thermador went out. I bought it online. The delivery was fine and it showed up on time. I had a professional come and install it. Ive had my Viking for about three months and I love it. Its a convection and its dual fuel. It is heavy duty and it is very easy to clean compared to my Thermador.

We live far out so it was hard to find a Viking dealer. The closest to us was three hours away. But the dealer we had was very accommodating. He gave us all the information we needed. We bought a stove and it was challenging to setup because we did it ourselves. Getting the gas connected in the back was difficult. It was in a hard to reach location so unless one has the right tools, it was hard to do from a laymans perspective. We finally called somebody in to do it for us.My husband said that the grills over the burners are big. You have to balance a small pan on it but it has worked. Ive done it and it seems sturdy. The stove works well and I like that its just a basic range. It holds the heat for me which, my other stove gave up on. It doesnt have all the computer parts, which is what our other stove gave us issues with. The motherboard in the other gas range we had went out three times and it was very frustrating.

I purchased a Viking range in 2007 and paid almost $5,000 for the unit. In November 2011, the oven stopped working. Mr. Appliance of New York City was recommended by Viking as the authorized service representative. Between November 2011 and June 2012, I have had 8 visits by Mr. Appliance. They replaced a thermostat control (twice), replaced the circuit board and still havent found the problem. Amount paid by that point was $670. At the 8th visit, they said the reason my oven wouldnt work was a broken oven door latch, broken (they said) during the self-clean cycle. Additional expected cost, $460, except I have never once used the self-clean cycle. It was most likely broken by the repairmen in their attempts to find the source of my problem. In dealing with Viking Customer Service, they didnt even bother to be charming. The people I spoke with were defensive, unsympathetic and unpleasant. Maybe they have had too many fed up customers and are tired of all of us. They simply told me to try another authorized service dealer in my area. Frankly, this is outrageous. I had expected more of a company that charges $5,000 for its products. The quality of the unit is low. The customer service was poor and the authorized service dealer (Mr. Appliance) is even worse. I will never ever buy another Viking product again, of any kind, and under no circumstances could I recommend Mr. Appliance of New York City. They do not have even basic competence.

We owned our first Viking for 15 years. That worked perfectly and we never had any problem with it. And so, we decided to purchase a second one, but were encountering a problem with it. The cooker that’s in front of the stove is not working properly. When you turn on the stove, whatever one you’re trying to use, it starts to fire right away. This has been going on for a month and a half. My husband has been calling Viking back. He has not been able to resolve anything with them. Right now, I’m not happy with this purchase.

This is my second review of the Viking 36-inch all refrigerator. Ice formed inside the unit and this interfered with the fan. Water collected on shelves and under refrigerator. The first unit was repaired a number of times. Viking then replaced it with a new refrigerator. Same problems. We insisted that Viking refund money to the dealer and we now have a Sub Zero. Finally, after almost six months, we have a refrigerator that works. While the interior design of the Viking is better, their engineering is poor. I will suggest to the dealer, who was helpful, that he considers to stop recommending Viking refrigerators. I have no experience with other Viking products.

I absolutely love the Viking range. Besides the look, I love the cooktop in it. I ordered extra racks and got all the rollout racks, which I love for baking multiple sheets of cookies at one time. I also love all the different ranges that you can put your oven on with the convection, which can be the low, the medium, or the high. It gives you so many options. All the burners come off so nicely and I havent had problems cleaning it. People should get Viking if they were thinking about it.

Ive known Viking from many years ago in the food service business. I wasn’t going with the Viking Refrigerator, but with the Viking cooktop. Both appliances came as a package deal and the sales pitch was one item would be free, so it was easier for me to do that. I would have never gone with Viking for my refrigeration purchase. I’ve been using the refrigerator for about a month now and it appears very sturdy and I feel its gonna last. It also appears to do a great job to have the room that I thought it did for its size. I also like the digital controls on top that tells me what’s going onPeople have to understand the options that come with their Viking Refrigerator, like the ice maker versus non-ice maker, down to if they have water filtration for access to waterspouts. Viking is really there when you’re looking at the quality. On the other hand, Viking is not sitting extremely well with me on the customer service side. I had the direct vent and it hasn’t worked since day one. After three months, they finally decided to replace it. I saved my money for a very long time for those items and they are the biggest expense Ive ever made on appliances. It was quite depressing knowing that Viking didn’t stand by some of their equipment. So, be cautious.

We did a kitchen remodel and the person whom we were using to do the kitchen was the distributor for Viking. We got a Viking Refrigerator but then it woke me up last night as there is some sort of sensor that goes off and sets the alarm off. We have already had this sensor fixed once and now its broken again. Additionally, the drawer doesnt seem to shut right. The way freezer drawers work should be that they slide really easily, regardless if theres a lot of weight. However, after two weeks of operation, our freezer drawer has slowed down to the point where we have to push it with effort to get it to close.Viking has tried to have that fixed and nobody has been able to fix it. They contract with local repair people who have been very responsive. These repair people have addressed the issues, as reported but then theres still some sort of sensor that fails. The problem wasnt too bad when the sensor was going off at 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM. However, it has been going off at 3:22 in the morning and its annoying. There are beeping sounds coming from the kitchen thats surrounded by hardwood floors. The techs who have come have replaced several pieces the last time they came out. The problem with the sensor stopped for two or three weeks after that but then started again.

I’m in the food business and all of my big appliances in my stores are Viking. I heard about them from PC Richard, and the quality of their range is good. The microwaves blower, however, does not have enough power to it, so it brings the smoke out when you are cooking around the house. It does not have the exhaust. Its not that great. Our new house came with the upgraded package of Viking, but the range never worked. The stove wouldn’t light and we couldn’t keep it lit. It took us almost a year of repeated people coming out. We couldn’t get it right and it was because of multiple things. When they put it in, they got the wrong backing and it took three different people just to get that right. It was a huge relief when Viking replaced the stove for us. I like the stove, but when its on the blower is so strong that I can’t put a low heat on my stove top. If I have the oven on, I can’t put low on the burners because the blower blows into the burners. The repair people that we had were polite and professional and I dont fault them in any way. It was one of them that helped me get the new range. But Im disappointed and I will never buy a Viking again.

Ive been a homeowner for a lot of years and Ive always seen and known about Viking Ranges. Theyre lovely, a dream come true and everybody wants one. We have an appliance store down the street and when we went down there to look for dishwashers, they were running a special where if we bought a range, wed get a dishwasher for free. So, we just dove in, bit the bullet and got it. Weve dealt with the fellow there several times and hes always been great with us. Weve had to purchase items over the years and we always go back to him. He had a floor model of this particular range and he said that it was a great product, so thats what we went with. Everything was great and it worked out really well. Viking speaks for itself and you cant go wrong with it. Its a beautiful piece of appliance and I love it. Its a statement piece when you walk into the kitchen.

Save yourself the trouble and read all the previous one star reviews. I wish I had done that. Two years ago when building my dream kitchen, I splurged and purchased a Viking stove. The stove would not heat up consistently as many others have noted and I finally called Viking for advice. Apparently, the warranty period had changed from 3 years to 1 year so I was on my own. They gave me an authorized dealer and I had to pay $450 for a service call and new igniter part. I was not happy but at least my stove would be working properly. Its now just three months later and again the same thing is happening. The oven turns on but in the middle of cooking, the igniter keeps clicking and the temperature does not remain consistent. Its hit or miss whether youll be able to cook your food. I had a GE stove in my previous home that cost a fraction of my Viking stove and it worked perfectly for 10 years and was still going strong when I moved. Dont waste your money on this overpriced defective product.

I had a Viking at my previous home. I just like their product and the commercial aspect of it. The first one I had was the open burner kind of thing and all steel. With the new range, I like the way it cooks and the little LED light thing thats underneath that you can actually see the knobs that illuminate it. Compared to the old range I had that had a softer side and could easily be scratched at the back, this new one has a softer cushion and it doesnt mark like the first. The only shortcoming was my experience with the Viking dealer. I like the range and if I had just gotten it from someone else, it would have been a whole lot better. Everything did not happen like it was supposed to. The salesperson neglected to schedule the installers so I had appliances sitting in my kitchen for three days uninstalled. I went to that store so many times prior to them doing the delivery because I had such a bad feeling it wasn’t going to go right and I was right. But theyre the only game in town and I was trying to buy local instead of ordering it on the internet.

We love our Viking Refrigerator so far. The size is great because it is a really tall one. And of course, side by side is good. The only thing is that the side door where the butter is held, on occasion, if I put butter in there whatever keeps that door closed isnt strong enough and it pops open and the butter falls out every once in a while. But overall the refrigerator is restaurant quality, and Viking is professional. We ordered the Viking Refrigerator and were very happy with it. We got it from the Ferguson in Sarasota. The salesman knew what he was selling. I wasnt over-the-top with him but he was okay. What was a little unusual was that they didnt have the stuff in-stock and we had to wait for production and delivery for about a month. The installation was rather annoying too. The guys that delivered it werent plumbers, so they took out our existing refrigerator, put it in the garage where we wanted it, and left the Viking out in the garage as well because they couldnt install the water element. They had to send somebody back the next day and we were inconvenienced by that. On the other hand, the quality of the refrigeration we received from the Viking seems excellent, so far. Also, I like the looks, the heavy door, the lighting, the way its organized, and the freezing compartment because of the French door. Wed recommend it to a friend.

We owned all Viking appliances in our previous home. We had about 14 years of experience with the range, hood, refrigerator, dishwasher, and wine fridge. Weve just started remodeling our kitchen here in Texas and purchased a Viking package here as well because of their reputation and the quality and the look of the appliances. We were comfortable moving forward with Viking again though what we got were kind of different products than what we purchased before in some ways. The range we had was a double oven and was kind of super high end range. This time, we have a stand alone LPG all-steel cook top and then a wall oven. I like some of the improvements theyve made to the product line. The cook top is much easier to clean than the more commercial style we previously had.We went for a French door refrigerator this time which got the freezer above and has two French doors. The whole refrigerator unit is really good and convenient. It fit in to the opening we have perfectly at the right depth. Everything about it is also pretty first rate. We are happy with the refrigerator and with everything but one thing I have is on the packaging of the product particularly on the refrigerator. When the installers came to install it, they spent forever trying to take the protective material Viking uses over the stainless steel off. They never got all of it off and I can still see some of the adhesive that was used to hold it on there even though Ive used stainless steel cleaners that were recommended. We did the purchase from Pacific Sales which is a brick-and-mortar store in Austin and is apparently a subsidiary of Best Buy. However, the experience was not good with Pacific Sales and horrible with Best Buy. The whole delivery process was a nightmare. We love the products and we had no issues with the installers that Best Buy used, but the length of time the scheduling took and the constant lack of information and the change of information were not good at all. I would probably never buy from Pacific Sales again. When we first started looking, we went online and found vendors that would ship the appliances to our home for free and no sales tax because they had no brick-and-mortar presence in Texas. But I thought of paying the extra sales tax which was substantial just to have that local touch and that good quality customer service which couldnt have been farther from whats the reality. The Viking Range Corporation needs to know that when a customer decides to buy a Viking products from Pacific Sales, which is Best Buy, theyre likely in for a tough go of it. The sales person who we dealt with never called and kind of washed his hands off once we get handed off to this contact person with Best Buy when things started getting kind of going sideways. But now that we have the appliances and theyre all in place, everything seems to be working great. I placed a call with Viking today as I was having some issues with the new wall oven and I got connected to a very knowledgeable person in tech support. He walked me through what he thought were the probable issues. It was more of a problem with me understanding the directions though I read the owners manual pretty closely, but after talking to him, he provided a lot more information about how to use the oven properly than what I got out of reading the owners manual. Also, we had some repairs that needed to be done and Viking always seems to have good customer service. Viking corporate had to handle recall issues and they were good about notifying us for that. However, Ive tried to register these appliances online and Ive only got about half of them done. For some reason, it comes back and says they dont recognize the model number or the model number and the serial number dont match so they cant do it. I have yet to call so thats been a little bit of a pain but no big deal.

We purchased a 36 Viking Range model #VDSC5366BSS with 6 sealed burners, sealed broiler, sealed heating element and have had three significant issues. The first, a cracked broiler occurred in the first month after installation. The second time, the broiler broke (November, 2012). We could not get a technician to fix it for weeks (still not fixed until today). Today (Nov. 21, 2012), the day before Thanksgiving, the entire oven does not work. We have called Viking, we have called the distributor (Gene Schick company) and we have called local service people but no one could service this unit. I am writing to publicly declare I could not be more disappointed in the 4 Viking appliances my family has purchased. I have the 48” duel fuel range in my home. Both ovens are now not working after using the self clean features on both ovens. I am very upset. The fault is with the Viking appliance company. The cost of the repair should not be my burden. I would never recommend this brand to any of my friends. The one positive thing I have to say is that the range is beautiful. My brother’s family have 2 exterior refrigerators and an exterior ice maker both from Viking. Each appliance has required multiple repairs yearly. It is infuriating to spend so much money for a professional brand we trusted, that fails repeatedly. It’s a bitter disappointment to walk outside and not be able to have a cold drink with a glass of ice waiting for you, after investing so much money. Furthermore, the repairs were expensive and repeatedly done by certified Viking repairmen, using Viking parts. The fact that Viking cannot effectively repair their faulty product is pathetic. The Viking company should replace all these appliances free of charge if they are to have any integrity at all.

I had a Viking range when I lived in Southern California for 20 years and couldnt kill the thing. Initially, I purchased it for status. It looked so great in my house. With a culinary background, I quickly found out that this range was amazing. It performed. I moved and could not take it with me. We finally built our forever home and one of the requirements was that I bring that Viking back. I have a whole Viking kitchen. The window in the range in the oven part of it is not the same as it used to be. This seems like it needs some kind of gasket around it. I sometimes see steam between the glass. I was told thats normal but it wasnt like that on my other range. But all in all, it works really well. I love it. I had a GE in another home and it was like junk. You couldnt clean it. It’d scratch. I took the air filters out and washed them. They fell apart the first time. You dont get that with Viking. It is a lot more money but you get what you pay for. Ive known about Viking forever and as a matter of fact, the brother of one of my friends in Iowa used to be a distributor for Viking. I had a GE Profile that broke down after about five years and I was not about to put any money into it, so I thought Id invest in a Viking. Ive dealt with the dealer, Abt, before for other things and I got my Viking refrigerator from them. The guys who installed it were absolutely wonderful and they tried not to scratch floors. They did a good job and it was first class as far as installation. While the water for the GE was hooked up with plastic, the Viking has a nice metal flexible pipe. Howeve, the bottom drawer broke apart when I pulled it out. A gentleman came out, looked at it, and said that theyll send me a new one. They sent another drawer out and so that was no problem. Another thing also is that every time I looked at the temperature on the GE, it was the same temperature on my little thermometer. On the Viking, the temperature jumps around so it does things differently. Still, it runs quite a bit more than my GE ran.

We had a Sub-Zero and then we decided to try a Viking. We wanted a freezer on the bottom rather than the side to side, and it’s stainless steel. However, we’ve had some problems with the freezer as it stopped working. Somebody came in and defrosted the drain line or whatever that gets clogged up with a hair dryer. We had to spend about $400 to $500 to get that fixed as it was out of the warranty. Also, Im not all that impressed with the set up for the authorized repair. We called customer service, and the repair people are coming again tomorrow. But it’s like I’m talking to somebody where I got a phone bank somewhere, and it’s not a local business. For one thing, we can’t find the stupid model number or the serial number. They’re underneath somewhere strange in the back of the freezer, and one can’t get down there to see it. Also, the other day, one of those bookcases with the sliding shelves on the door broke apart for no reason. I had to order from Viking a new one for a couple hundred dollars for half of one of those bookcase sliding units. It’s so stupid that I’m trying to get that plastic. This unit just broke apart for no reason, and then I’m trying to go find the model number and the serial number so that I could talk intelligently with Viking support, and I can’t get it. The only way I found it was to go back to the original invoice from ABW who were the people who get all the appliance for us when we were renovating the kitchen. Other than having these incidents, Viking is a good refrigerator and we like it.

Vikings price point was within our target range so we decided to go with them. The Viking dealer was good. The product looks cool and people think it looks cool too. The quality is fair but I’ve got some issues and I’m hopeful that those will be fixed.

I don’t like Viking appliances. I’ve had issues with the ice maker ever since I bought my refrigerator. They came out one time and replaced it because they said there was a fly in it. After they fixed it, it worked for about six months. And then I have to always pull the bin out, empty it out, clean it out and put it back in so it could work again. Now it doesn’t work at all. I’ve called Appliance Masters and they’ve been out many times. The repairman comes and he says nothing is wrong with it but I still have an issue. At this point, I have no warranty on it but I need someone to come out and actually fix it. I ordered the part to change it myself. The dealers were nice. But as far as when I emailed them, I got absolutely no response.I’ve had my dishwasher for seven years and when I turn it on, it runs over three hours and I have to open the door and see if it’s clean or dry. I never know how long it’s supposed to take. I never knew from the beginning because it never ran a full cycle. When I open it, I see all this water and soap in the bottom. I wash my dishes by hand. The water is sitting there. I have to spoon it out or cup it out because it starts to smell after a while. It’s a big issue for me because I’ve never been able to have a full cycle of clean dishes. When I called this last time to get somebody to help me with my appliances, the repairman told me he gets a negative call every single day and he’s always apologizing to the customers when they call. Consumers like me don’t know who to contact to say their complaint to. The sales guy was telling me that he gets this kind of call every single day. Generally, I’m easygoing and I don’t really like complaining about anything. But when it comes to a point when somebody’s so top-notch, I get very disappointed because of the name.Viking has a name like Mercedes-Benz. I was thinking I was getting the best and I was very wrong because if Viking was so great, their appliances would work properly. And even if I get a lemon, I understand that at least it could be fixed when someone comes out to check it. I was disappointed. I would not recommend Viking to anybody. I would not recommend the places I called for service for Viking. They just can’t fix it. I used to have a GE and it’s in my garage now. It works a lot better than Viking and I’ve had that a lot longer.

I was very happy with the quality of the Viking Range. I had a Viking gas range for probably 12 years, and this time, I went with a Viking induction range because my house didn’t have gas hooked up. Im still trying to get accustomed to the induction range because its different than gas. But I love the way that its easy to clean. It looks great. The control knobs and everything are really sharp looking.I would buy a Viking product again. However, I did not have good experiences with the dealers. I had been trying to buy a Viking range at least two months before I actually got to purchase it because I was already a Viking customer. Every place I went to said they were not doing Viking anymore. They said they were phasing it out. So, I was just kind of laid back and waited, and then I contacted Viking directly and tried to get information on my own. I finally went to Nebraska Furniture Mart, and they had given me the runaround the first time. The next time we went, I found somebody that would sell it to us, but they didn’t have much in stock. We had to buy just from a picture.

I’m a real estate agent and I see homes a lot and through visiting these houses, Ive seen and liked how sleek the Viking products look. I then got a Viking refrigerator. In fact, my whole kitchen set, which includes the range and microwave, is from Viking. I like my fridge a lot. It’s very nice and efficient. It’s awesome that the fruits and vegetables last longer inside the Viking than in a regular fridge. The only thing is that I have the 48-inch and it seems too small inside, but other than that, it’s functioning perfectly. It is a great product.

There are vent holes at the bottom of oven. Owner must remove bottom plate to clean food debris that falls into the oven’s burner area which creates an adverse hygienic condition. Also, annoying oven fan stays on 45 minutes after use.

I already had a Viking oven so I wanted the appliances to match. I like the way the refrigerator looks and so far, the quality is good. The people I dealt with in sales didn’t have all the information I needed but they were fine. It was just because I had researched it and I knew a lot more about the fridge than they did. That aside, I would advise others to make sure their measurements are right when looking into Viking refrigerators.

We saw at Best Buy that they had some Viking Ranges along with some other commercial brands. My wife was interested in a gas range with a black porcelain top. It came down to styling for us and we ended up with one from Viking. We like the appearance. However, Best Buys people really didn’t know a whole lot about Viking. Viking had a promotion going on with their commercial ranges where they provided a free dishwasher. Because we didn’t buy the professional line, we couldn’t get that promotion. It was a little disappointing ‘cause the stove we bought costs as much or more than the original professional model we were going to purchase. We’re also having problems with the Viking range as the oven hasn’t worked from day one and weve had it for over a month. We have an open service call right now and we’re waiting for parts. The service guy was out once but he didn’t have the right parts. He has to come back and hopefully, itll be this week. We had a Samsung top-of-the-line Chef Collection gas range in our old house right before this Viking range and it caused us nothing but grief. It’s a little disappointing for us to move up to Viking, which should be a higher class, and now we’re having problems with our brand new range. My wife likes the heat control of the Viking range, though, and that it simmers much better than the Samsung did. She loves the cooktop. At this point, the Viking range has a great appearance but questionable reliability.

I bought the Viking range. I thought they actually could be sturdier or more solid than they actually are. Also, when you buy the products within the instruction manual, you get that piece of paper that you’re going to fill in and send back to Viking. It’s for the warranty so it gets registered. Four of them came back, return to sender, which I found very strange that they were preprinted Viking pieces of paper. All you have to do is put your name and address in front of them and put in the mail, and yet they all came back. I didnt call because I figured, I bought them from Pacific Sales and they had the information regarding them, so the warranty would be through them. I didn’t really think twice about it. And then, I managed to register some of them online, but then, I think two of the products weren’t even online to be able to register, which I thought was a little strange too. You need some ways where you feel confident about it the warranty process. Even so, Viking Ranges has been pretty good.
