We just had our nice kitchen remodeled beautifully so, we wanted to get a nice refrigerator. Ive seen Viking refrigerators in different rental properties weve been in and also, some friends have had it. Weve always had different brands like Westinghouse and KitchenAid and we thought we wanted to step it up a little. We got a Viking and I love it. It looks very nice and the size is beautiful. Weve never had a freezer on the bottom and a double door before. Also, we never had an ice maker before so its very exciting. Viking is a beautiful product and Im very happy with it. I would definitely buy them again.

We purchased a home with Viking appliances and in about four months that weve been here, the products were okay but I would not recommend them. The refrigerator is noisy, with a lot of clicking noises. We think it’s associated with the filtration system and when it makes ice. And it takes about between three and four days to fill the bin of ice. We tried to use some of the functions where it says excel ice where it leads the user to think that it speeds up the time of making ice. But it still takes three days to fill the little bin in there. But the Viking customer service has been extremely well and Im very, very happy with that aspect.

I heard better reviews on Viking from people that have had them, and I wanted to go in the direction of a range like this only because less bells and whistles means less to break. The quality is good. The door handle wouldnt open one time and the rep that came to do the repair was excellent. He was on time and it was easy to make the appointment. They were very good and professional. I also like that they took care of the problem quickly. Plus it was covered under warranty.

I have had a Viking gas oven that has had the same recurring issue since it was brand new, 3 1/2 years ago. The oven heats up but then fails to reignite, causing the oven to lose temperature. Viking service providers have put band-aids on this issue 3 times, the latest 4 months ago. These have helped for a short period of time, but eventually have all failed. When I called Viking today to let them know that the issue is happening again, neither Viking (nor the service provider) would stand behind the product or the work that was done to fix it. The customer care department told me that I would need to pay for the service, and then Viking would decide whether or not it was a quality issue. They would not escalate the issue to a supervisor, claiming that there was no such person. I am writing the review here in the effort to get some resolution.

I saw a Viking refrigerator at Colders Appliance Store and bought it. It was significantly discounted because it was a floor model. Its a side-by-side fridge and the two doors dont align perfectly. Its something you can see and it stands out a little bit. And theres no easy way to adjust in and out and get things in perfect plane. I would have preferred French doors because I could have gotten a full sheet tray in the refrigerator. Whereas with the side-by-side, I cant. But I wanted the 42-inch and Viking dont make a 42-inch with a single door. But other than that, it has been fine.

We have used Viking products in the past and really liked it. We have a Viking range and an oven, a cooktop stove, and a microwave so we got a refrigerator and it matched everything else. Weve been using it for about a month now and so far, its good. The experience is absolutely great. Its pleasurable and hassle-free. The only thing is its not the easiest thing in the world to level in comparison to any other fridge that Ive had. But its not that big of a deal and we got it leveled. Other than that, everything is absolutely fantastic.

My wife got this unit thinking we were upgrading from a Samsung. To my surprise this unit was horrible. Forget about the fact of how small it was, but if you put eggs next to the ice maker you ended up with frozen ones!! Since this was a French style with the split doors we were blessed to have our jarred fresh garlic freeze when the unit was set at 40 degrees. After the technician came out the second time he told us that this unit with the Viking name was in fact either a Maytag or a KitchenAid. Nice!! Im off on a mission to purchase a Sub Zero - never to buy Viking products again!!!

We liked the look of Viking and their reputation as well so we went with them. Were not so thrilled with the double wall oven but the refrigerator is awesome. The quality is excellent and this is probably the best refrigerator weve ever owned. Its so easy to navigate in there. You can see and reach everything. But the ice maker could be improved. The bin that the ice goes into should be raised in the back so that the ice falls to the front. Im always winding up with ice all over the floor and on the inside of the freezer because it builds up then theres no way to open the freezer without the ice falling over like a deck of cards. Other than that, weve had a fairly good experience so far.

To say that I have been extremely disappointed with my Viking oven is putting it mildly. This oven has broken three times since 2012. Two of those times was in the middle of cooking Thanksgiving Dinner. The problem with this oven is a computer chip panel that continually burns out when the oven becomes hot. I have had to replace this part twice. I question why Viking would engineer such a problematic oven and then offer a replacement part that is only under warranty for a year. I have contacted Viking customer service by phone and by letter and their only response is to tell me the part is no longer under warranty. I have replaced the Viking oven and I will never buy another Viking product. I am writing this to alert other consumers to be aware of this issue and the lack of customer service when considering purchasing a Viking range.

My wife liked Viking Ranges because of its quality. The last couple of ranges that we bought were not Viking and we didn’t like them. We bought our Viking Range through a retailer in Tupelo. We’re happy with it but we have an issue with condensation coming from underneath when we’re running the oven. We paid extra for this trim piece on the bottom that goes on the front so things wouldnt go up underneath the stove. Then the hot air coming from the oven is causing that water to condensate and drip out. Also, the fan is really loud for the convection oven.

We did some research and we were debating between Sub-Zero and Viking. Because of the layout of our kitchen, we couldnt fit a bigger fridge so we decided to go with Viking. Were happy that the freezer is at the bottom, but if an improvement can be made, we feel that the ice maker is not conveniently placed. We have to open the whole freezer to get the ice and theres a lot of cold temperature while were taking the ice out as well as the ice cubes having a tendency to fall off. But its very well-built and it shows high quality compared to other products. Its also backed up by a great warranty. As far as the refrigeration, were so far satisfied and would certainly recommend Viking to other people. We dont have any issues like we had with the range.I was very frustrated with the gas range that we have. I had a bad experience with that way Vikings customer service work. Communication was what really drove everything off. I called and there was a service scheduled, which was supposed to be within a one-week time frame. It turned out that we were without a gas range for almost a month. The people that Viking originally set up a schedule with, apparently, were booked up for over three weeks. So I had to call in and there wasnt a Viking customer service. They called and asked me if I would be okay with sending a different company. I had to call in and follow up what happened and then they scheduled my service with another company.

Viking VCBB5361RSS 36 built-in is crap. Weve gone through 2 of these now and the second one is dying after 4 years. Viking repair has been here 4 times in a year. Every part has been replaced and it is still dying. Its a beautiful unit but its completely unreliable. Viking has no idea how to make refrigerators. We thought we would give them a second chance and replaced the first one with another thinking that all the bugs Viking had were worked out. Surely they would have figured out how to make a fridge by the time we got #2 but no! Weve had a terrible repair record with this one too. Come on Viking! Its a great fridge, lets get this worked out.

The new house I bought already had a Viking range and everything else, except for the refrigerator. I then bought a Viking fridge. All is great except with the ice-maker, which is annoying. Ive already had to have it replaced. Its a brand new machine, and every time I open up the door, the ice falls down. It is horribly designed. They should have figured it out. The ice machine is not one of those where you put a cup into it. Its just like a normal ice machine where one has to open up the door. So every time I open up the door, the ice falls down the back side and then I cant shut the door until I go down on all fours and pull it out from that.

Purchased a complete kitchen full of Viking professional series products in 2008. In 2011 the microwave quit working. In 2011 the stove top igniters are always trying to light a lit stove. 2011, dishwasher spray arm fell off (plastic broke). Ongoing is my fridge freezer side by side. Too warm on top but frozen veggies in the crisper. The oven always seems to take a little longer to get to temp then in 2014 would never get to temp. Have called the Authorized Viking distributor and have always been transferred around. I have been pushed to an authorized repair company and been fleeced for labor and materials. Dealer came out for dishwasher and after talking on the phone for an hour told me it would be over $500 to fix. I paid him for the service call and found the part online, and put it in myself. Took the microwave out and just bought a GE. No one wanted to work on the micro. Pulled the oven out of the wall, called the technician and he came out to troubleshoot. Told me the lower element was out. He quoted me over $550 to fix when the part came in within the next few weeks. I paid him the 140 for the trip charge and service call and found the element online for 111. I put it in myself. An absolute hassle and this is unacceptable for appliances that are supposed to be top of the line. Never, I mean never... NEVER will I ever buy another Viking product. Pure 100% crap. I have a mother in law apartment that does not have a single Viking product. Never have issues. I have Kohler throughout the main house. Hardly ever an issue. If there is one, I talk to KOHLER and they send me what it takes to fix. I cannot wait to remodel my kitchen!!!

We got a stove and some other appliances. The stove, we had issue with. Its a gas stove. The proper gas nozzle apertures were requested when we ordered it but they were not sent. And there were some issues between our local dealer getting that correct nozzle. That took time. And during the installation, the installers broke a piece of the stove or the oven. And it took two times to get the correct part. They got it the first time and they installed it, and the local people who were our installers and our repairer as well, said, “This isnt right.” So it went back to Viking. We talked to somebody. Got it right. And same thing with those nozzles. It wasnt done correct the first time. I dont know where that issue lies, if it was with our local person not being able to articulate what was properly needed, or Viking not understanding or sending the wrong piece altogether. We chose Viking for several reasons. The aesthetics of it, how it looks, the way it would fit into our kitchen, the design, and its reliability, that it was a very good brand. I like how, when we open the doors, they feel substantial. Most refrigerator and freezer doors, you open them, they feel lightweight and not put together well. The Viking, when you open it up, that door is heavy. Its not heavy like I cant open it. But it feels very substantial, that I have something there that would hold up and done well.

We have a refrigerator which is only a few years old but my wife wanted the ones with industrial-looking handles so we bought a Viking Refrigerator. Also, a friend said that they would be better than Thermadors and Viking has a good reputation. But it had issues with the cooling that was running almost 24/7. It kept running and running and never shuts off except for five minutes and it will run for another six or seven hours. Then, opening the freezer door, it looked like a mist was coming in from the cooling bins where the cool air comes in. According to the sales guy, this indicates too much humidity but he didn’t really know where this was coming from.We contacted the retailer and a guy came by and said there might be an issue. He suggested waiting until it’s in its final place because its still in the living room. Then, hed come by to level out the refrigerator and freezer appropriately and hopefully, the issue would be addressed. If not, they will have to provide some parts. It was a little disheartening considering it’s a brand new unit we paid a lot of money for. Therefore, we will know more in two weeks once it’s in its final place in the kitchen.

My experience with my Viking has been great so far. I enjoyed the guy who sold it to me at Finwood Appliances. Its so much better than KitchenAid for about the same price. I like the way it looks and it feels well-made. Ive had a stainless steel refrigerator before and I was constantly having to get fingerprints off. The Viking is better at not showing fingerprints. But unfortunately, the people that service around here are just a little bit slow and they operate on their own time. The temperature of my freezer gets really hot so I have to keep hitting max freeze all day. If I dont, the alarm starts going off, so its really irritating. Its like a child I have to watch so I dont let my food get bad. The technician that came out said he fixed it. Yet, it was still getting too hot. I purchased my Viking refrigerator along with my Viking stove and dishwasher with my new townhome in 2003. I had to have service within the first year for my Viking refrigerator and then again. I guess the freezer had shut down and water had been on the bottom of the freezer, then froze and had to try and scrap it off. I called the repair and he supposedly fixed it, but then it became rusted. I had other problems which I won’t get into. The list goes on, but now for the last year (8th year) there is a cooling problem and the alarm goes off constantly. Had the repair guy out here and so he said what I may need, which will now cost me $1000 but he is not sure that will fix the problem. My neighbor has put thousands dollars into theirs and now it is not even repairable.Of course I have called Viking several times and they do nothing for me. My repair man came out again and told me what they were offering 1/2 off a new Viking, but who can afford another $3600 plus tax when the first one was expensive enough? I don’t seem to have a choice because I don’t know if I can fit anything else in my built in and match, etc. Something should be done about Viking. Pay up. That’s all I have to say. I need a new refrigerator and they should pay for it. Let’s do something. They are getting away with it!

Our Viking Range is beautiful. We looked at the features and, its just so solid. The burners are huge which was something we definitely wanted, and its perfect for our kitchen as it fits in with everything else. Their reps were very helpful and knew the product well. We had it installed, and then, all of a sudden, there was a gas leak. But it wasn’t the stove. It was the plumber. Apparently, the back-left of the stove, the part that comes from the gas line that goes into the back, hadn’t been tightened and he put pipe dope on a compression fitting, which was stupid. Some of that got into the two back burners and they weren’t working, and we smelled gas every morning. So, we had their authorized tech come out and he was fabulous. He found it, cleaned out the ports, and all the burners worked beautifully. So far, it’s the best oven-stove combo we’ve ever had and we love it.

We purchased an entire suite of professional-grade Viking kitchen appliances. My wife is a very good cook, so she wanted a gas range with Viking as a name, and we thought the refrigeration would be good too. However, I just had somebody come in to repair my refrigerator cause its a defect. The drain was not designed properly, so it would basically freeze up or clog up at the end of the day and then back up. And then, I ended up with ice below my freezer tray. It would melt on the door below the freezer door and then get my floor wet. As a result, I have cupping on my wood floor. So, not only did I pay the repair company that just recently came over $170-$200, which I havent even been reimbursed yet for, but I also have damaged floor.I havent had Viking contact me regarding that yet, and that was something I was expecting a call on. I reached out to them first, and they informed me that if it was a sealed component, it would be covered under warranty but if it wasnt, it wouldnt be. I ordered a part for the snap tray from a repair company, and I asked about the refrigerator and its leaking characteristics. They mentioned that there was a fix for it, and Viking knows about it. A notice was sent out and apparently, Viking has amnesia with that. They dont know of any notice. Theres no recall, yet its clearly a defective product.

I like everything about the particular Viking refrigerator that I bought. Its very quiet and the quality is very good. The lighting inside is amazing and the outside and drawers are nice. However, their setup was totally not what it shouldve been. They came in, put in the refrigerator and that was it. When they set it up, they put the handles on and they left. But the handles need to come back off to get the plastic out, which they never did, so it was there. It took me about two weeks to peel off the plastic thats so tight on that refrigerator. It was like pulling off glue off the refrigerator. They came back once and the guy was late, and I had to go to work. And then I never recalled them to come back. My husband peeled off the rest. Also, when you pull out the drawer on the bottom, the other drawer comes out with it, and you have to push it back. Other than that, Im really happy with the refrigerator. We purchased a complete Viking kitchen which included a range top, downdraft hood, a dishwasher, a Dutch oven, the refrigerator and the convection microwave. We’re satisfied with everything except for the refrigerator because every time you open the freezer, the ice overflows to the floor and I think it’s a design flaw. It doesn’t happen every single time, but the ice builds up and theres no back on the refrigerator, so it goes straight down and falls on the floor. So, somebody has to get to the floor and pick up the ice cubes. But I like the digital controls of the fridge and everything else is fine. Im very surprised about this one item and I know that LG makes their refrigerators so that may be the issue here, but I have heard only good things. I did a research because I know that previously, there were problems with the Viking refrigerators, and I was assured that that had been taken care of. It may be a minor adjustment but weve only had it set in place for three weeks, so weve been dealing with it. If it continues, then Im gonna rattle some cages.

I was all the way around looking at different places and I ended up buying the Viking fridge through the kitchen design place that I used. One thing that was attractive was the breakdown in price when I bought four appliances. I like the quality of the Viking fridge. It does the job well and I like the design. However, when the ice maker is in ice making mode, the arm is down and the drawer is full, then I open the drawer, a whole bunch of ice gets pushed out to the back and on to the floor. When I slide out the drawer, the arm takes some ice cube with it. Theres gotta be something that wasnt done quite the way it should be because I always have to put the ice maker arm up when I can see its getting full. Its not really engineered very well there and I wish that was a little different. But I like the way it looks and the way it feels sturdy when I use it.

I like that Viking has a gas range and its large enough for the six burners that I have. I knew about them through word of mouth and after looking online at different options, I chose to buy from them due to brand recognition and the more commercial look of their ranges. When I called Viking, their reps were very helpful, easy to deal with, and immediately helped me register my range so I could get the process started in the repair that I needed. I’ve had a couple of issues but they’ve been addressed through the warranty. They referred me to a local appliance repair company and theyve been responsive. It took a few weeks to fix the issues and there was a back-and-forth on getting the right parts in, but there had been no extraordinary delays. Currently, there’s still one remaining item for repair and they’re ordering a separate part for that.

Installed a Viking kitchen including dishwasher 4 years and 11 months ago. Dishwasher failed just short of 5 years. Viking service came out & advised that electrical components, wiring harness and rubber seal failed. I paid $180 for service call and Viking refused to help in any way to repair the dishwasher. Service advised me that replacement was the only practical option as multiple repairs necessary would be cost prohibitive. We are very disappointed in Viking quality (except for range). Purchase Viking products at your own risk is my advice. Many better options are available in the price range they market their products in.

Im enjoying my Viking Refrigerator. It has great lighting. The shelf space has a nice arrangement. Theres a lot of storage on the doors. I was particularly interested in a drawer freezer, and a one door upper unit versus side by side and it fit the bill. I also was interested in customizing the front of the fridge and it was able to accommodate that as well. I had a problem with one of the door shelves, and it was replaced. So that was fine.

We went through Pacific Sales at Best Buy and they were able to work with us and help us out. We got the range, microwave and dishwasher. We had to wait for five weeks to get the stuff. And when they came to install it, there was a problem with the microwave. There was a broken screw inside the microwave itself so the installers could not put the screw through to mount it onto the cabinet. We called Vikings and they told us that we have to wait another three weeks. And that they couldn’t order one until this unit was turned back in. Finally they were able to get one in a couple of days and they came out to install it. And the second microwave had the exact same problem. I confirmed that it’s not the same microwave to make sure that they didn’t turn around and bring the same one back. It was a totally different serial number, so two microwaves had the exact same broken screw. The installer just happened to have another microwave on their truck that was supposed to be delivered to some other lady’s house and it was too big for her house so she had to cancel the order. There was some issues about whether or not he could install it because he had to turn that one in and then it had to be reassigned. But I was able to call Best Buy and they worked around it and they were able to give him the okay to install that other microwave. So we finally got it installed. It wasn’t the original one that we had ordered, but it did not have a problem. It all got worked out. But it was a headache for us trying to get everything installed correctly. Best Buy was kind enough to give us a $250 check towards the headache that we had. They were very friendly and helpful. And so, at the end of the day, we were happy.

Ive had my Viking range for four weeks and I absolutely love it. When I turn on the knobs, it’s very precise. It doesnt have any play in it, especially the oven, so when I set a temperature, I’m confident that that’s the temperature. I like how it’s raised up on the bottom so that I can get a Swiffer and clean up under there instead of just the dust building up. The range has been fabulous and I’m really happy with it. When I called the first time trying to get my Viking appliances registered, their reps were really helpful and told me where to look.

I heard about Viking through some friends of mine that are builders. The Viking rep here is a friend of one of my friends and he talked me into going with Viking, although I wasn’t going to go with them because I had heard in the past that they were having long term issues with the oven. But he convinced me that Viking had corrected the flaws that their products had. The dealer was good and he had just the right amount of information and push. The cooktop that we got from Viking has been amazing and I like the burners on top. The fridge has been awesome and the dishwasher seems to be good so far. But the oven hasn’t been working and we haven’t been able to use it for a week or so. It worked fine before and then the appliance repair guy came out and made an adjustment, and the oven went from working to non-working. They had to order a new regulator, but the part doesn’t work at all. So, he had to order some new parts last week.

I paid over 5K for this American-made range (ordered March 2018). I expected the quality to be top-notch. Not only does the sheet metal have stress cracks, many screws were loose and stripped out, the unit is not square and fits the space like a rhombus, but the door wont even close right. A third-party tech looked at it and simply commented that hed seen much worse come out of their factory. The side panel overlaps the rear panel, so that the gas line wont fit in the slot described on the installation diagram. This extra piece had to be trimmed off by me! The porcelain coating is abraded on one of the 3 grate supports, and the grates themselves had numerous casting flaws that had to be ground down, or additional severe scratching would have occurred. Burner assemblies are stamped China. The oven cycles about every 2 minutes, and when it does only runs for about 8 seconds - I understand that this means the temp. is more stable, but also feel this contributes to shortening the life of various components. Ive partially blocked the ridiculously large vent holes, which helps considerably. Im still waiting for the 24 high shelf - ordered 7 weeks ago - still on back order. After contacting Viking, I received a nice reply that theyre going to forward my concerns to their quality control dept. How does that help me? My advice - try another brand. It seems Vikings quality control is currently non-existent. Maybe Wolf?

Ive had my Viking range for about six weeks and I just started to get used to the noise of the fan. But so far, it cooks very well. I’ve always heard of Viking and a lot of places were pushing it. Their reps were excellent and they knew very well. They answered all my questions. They even said how much they love Viking and I’m going to love it. Then, because of my situation with the hood range recirculating, I was told it was better than Wolf and the one that I got is a much safer situation. I have the 3 Series so it’s different. It’s not like the 5 or the 7 and I love the 3 too. It’s just perfect for what I have on the top. It holds my pots nice and its a nice stove for my house. It was also much prettier looking and I liked it better instead of the red knob. I like its knobs versus my old type of stove which was electric. I also like that the Viking is very clear-cut simple. The range is of very good quality, very solid, stern and very powerful. When I used to fry stuff, I used to get oil everywhere. When I fry stuff on here, I’d barely see any oil. It means that the simmer is more professional than what I used to have. Plus, the cleanup is so easy.

Viking Range is difficult to get in touch with customer service and parts t
Viking Range is difficult to get in touch with customer service and parts take WEEKS to get. And when they do arrive they dont always work. I have had my Viking range since 2006. In the beginning we had to have the ignitor switches replaced. I believe it was under warranty at the time. The smoke eliminator fell out of the larger oven but it is very difficult for the homeowner to replace as the heating element covers the area where the casing of the smoke eliminator and I do not feel comfortable removing the heating element. Another issue that we have had is the self-cleaning on the small oven stopped working. I have since figured the issue out that the door wasnt closing enough for the self-clean to work. I now need to push the door tightly closed until the self-cleaning function kicks in.Now comes my biggest issue. On the morning of December 25, 2016, I cooked a breakfast casserole in the larger oven. Later in the morning I went to put the turkey in the larger oven to find that there was no heat. The fan continued to run but neither the broiler or bake element would work. I called one of the two certified Viking specialists in my area. They couldnt come out until December 29. Once they arrived they called Viking who told them that I needed a new circuit board. I had issues with getting in touch with the Viking recommended Mr. Appliance after I put down a 50% deposit and was forced to call another Viking recommended certified appliance repair company. The second company called Viking Range and ordered the parts that were needed for the repair. It took 3 weeks to get the parts because they were in production. The parts finally came in and the repair guy came out to the house, put the part in... it didnt work. The circuit board was faulty. He then tried to move the small oven circuit board to the larger oven and it shorted because once he tried to put it back into the small oven it didnt work.So now I sit here on February 20, 2017, almost TWO MONTHS LATER, with no oven at all (it was difficult only having access to an oven that only holds a 9x13 pan) and no stove top (one of the repair guys told us that we had to disconnect the gas in order to repair so we had to hire a plumber to come out to disconnect the gas for the low low price of $130. That was done on 1/3/17). I have since had to purchase a countertop burner because I am assuming these parts will take weeks to get. Every Appliance Repair company complains about how hard it is to get in touch with Viking Range. I am fed up with Viking Range and will never recommend their products to anyone, especially for the price.UPDATED ON 04/07/2017: I continue to stand by my stance on NOT purchasing Viking products. It took close to $1700!!! (Over $1200 was for parts alone - several that werent needed had Viking been able to figure out what was wrong with the oven) and close to THREE AND A HALF MONTHS TO FIX my range. First due to the fact that circuit boards are manufactured by different companies and thus are not made the same so they need to be rewired to adapt to your oven. Second, parts take a long time to get. 2-3 weeks was the average time it took to get my parts. Third, Viking has a problem figuring out what is wrong with their OWN product.

We wanted a high-end range. We needed something ultra dependable and something with great reviews. I cook a lot and I use good quality pots and pans. We use a lot of cast iron skillets and Le Creuset. Everything thats out there right now is even broken in the store. We went to Lowes a couple of times and the grates of some of their higher end ranges were snapped in the store. It was pretty dumb. Another big factor for us is we did not want a display board. Our previous couple ranges had that kind of electronic stuff and we wanted dials we could turn. We understand there are electronics in there but I dont need a pizza setting or anything like that. We bought the Viking range professional model so its an open burner and we love it. We are now calling it the turbo stove and turbo oven because the stuff cooks so fast. But we had to have a guy come out and check it because some of the igniters werent igniting right away on the stove. When we would turn it off, it would go poof and there is a big flash of flame. We had converted to propane. He checked everything and said it was fine. He explained something about the valve that lets the gas in is further back so we are gonna have that. Its not a problem though as it’s not dangerous. Its just something that had to get used to. And then the guy figured out what we could do where it wont poof. Right now, I have a Le Creuset on the stove and I’m making a bone broth. If I put the two back burners on the simmer function, it’s really nice and low. My broth simmers nicely. It kinda huffs but it doesn’t do that on the front burners. I got a huge stockpot on a front burner. It’s in the lowest setting and its beautiful. Our range works fantastically but it is different from what we were used to. Were adaptable though. We’re gladly working with it. Also, the range doesnt have a timer but Im okay with that. I baked a sourdough loaf this morning and it’s beautiful. The oven is consistently 25 degrees off according to my Amazon internal cheapo thermometer in there. But were also at 4,200 feet. As long as I know that its 25 degrees off, I can deal with that. Our last range was all digital and it was so unpredictable. Thats why we wanted something predictable. Our Viking range is, so far. It’s beautiful and it’s a work of art.

Ive known Viking from many years ago in the food service business. I wasn’t going with the Viking Refrigerator, but with the Viking cooktop. Both appliances came as a package deal and the sales pitch was one item would be free, so it was easier for me to do that. I would have never gone with Viking for my refrigeration purchase. I’ve been using the refrigerator for about a month now and it appears very sturdy and I feel its gonna last. It also appears to do a great job to have the room that I thought it did for its size. I also like the digital controls on top that tells me what’s going onPeople have to understand the options that come with their Viking Refrigerator, like the ice maker versus non-ice maker, down to if they have water filtration for access to waterspouts. Viking is really there when you’re looking at the quality. On the other hand, Viking is not sitting extremely well with me on the customer service side. I had the direct vent and it hasn’t worked since day one. After three months, they finally decided to replace it. I saved my money for a very long time for those items and they are the biggest expense Ive ever made on appliances. Our Viking Adventure. In 2012 we started planning for a major remodel to our home, and part of this was gutting and updating the Kitchen. One of our choices for the kitchen update was an 8 burner (6+griddle) gas and electric range. We had always been Thermador and Sub Zero people having used these products with no issues in two previous homes for 25+ years.Viking had always had a big reputation in the range market so we decided to try one of their products and in early 2013 we purchased a new Viking range from Setzers Appliance in Ocala, FL along with other non-Viking major appliances. The range was installed in fall of 2013 by a professional installer, along with all the other appliances, at a charge of 250$ per appliance. Initially we were thrilled with the new toys but then the igniters on the range had to be replaced. This was covered under warranty. Then the doors started sagging and wouldnt seal. Viking tried to fix this on two occasions but the issues never did get resolved. Then the small oven wouldnt maintain temperature, often being off as much as 100 degrees. The range was still under warranty and they attempted to fix this... they got it close but it never did work reliably. There were several service calls over the next few years, all documented and covered by warranty covering mainly issues with the ovens not working properly. We also had a very... irresponsible and grouchy, shall we say? local service person in the Gainesville, FL area.In August of 2018 the small oven again started not maintaining temp by more than 100 degrees. We called our local service man and he gave us an appointment time a week from that day... which he missed. We called him after the no show and he said oops, I forgot.... be there by 1 tomorrow. He showed up, turned on the oven, borrowed a thermometer and said the bad news is you need a new control board and it is 600$. We told him to hold off until we contacted Viking and he took his check for the service call and headed down the road.We contacted Viking and the service rep said to have the tech email him the info on the range so he could see if Viking could do anything despite the range being out of warranty because of the extensive list of issues on the service history. We called the service tech and he said he was driving and would call back for the email address when he got back to his office. Never called. Called him a week later, again, driving... will call back when I can. Never called. This went on for almost 6 weeks before we contacted Viking again and laid it all out... he was very helpful and said, Send me all this in writing and I will see what I can do and try to find you another service tech. After a month or so it boiled down to sorry, nothing we can do including apparently the inability to even provide another service tech in all of north Florida. We are now pursuing getting the range repaired on our own and with a rather bad opinion of our 13,000.00 Viking range. It may be petty but I take some small pleasure in knowing for a fact that at least three other couples purchased products from other makers after hearing about our experience over the last few years. So, while I know there must be a reason for Vikings reputation over the years I and my wife are... less than impressed.

We just finished remodeling our kitchen and we were looking at refrigerators. We happened to come across Viking in an appliance store. We purchased our other appliances through a distributor in Portland, and the dealer didnt happen to carry that particular refrigerator. But when we asked if they could get it, they said yes, and thats how we did it.We wanted some simplification. We liked the handles that were on the refrigerator and the way it was constructed on the inside as it looked well-finished. We also like the fact that the doors were not so thick as the other refrigerators we were looking at. It was that or the KitchenAid. The first refrigerator that they installed did not work. It wouldnt cool. They brought a service person out to look at it, but he couldnt figure out what was going on, so they got us another one. That was okay with us, though, because we happened to be gone for vacation that week, and the person who was installing the refrigerator took care of it and it worked out. At this point, were very satisfied with our Viking refrigerator.

We owned all Viking appliances in our previous home. We had about 14 years
We owned all Viking appliances in our previous home. We had about 14 years of experience with the range, hood, refrigerator, dishwasher, and wine fridge. Weve just started remodeling our kitchen here in Texas and purchased a Viking package here as well because of their reputation and the quality and the look of the appliances. We were comfortable moving forward with Viking again though what we got were kind of different products than what we purchased before in some ways. The range we had was a double oven and was kind of super high end range. This time, we have a stand alone LPG all-steel cook top and then a wall oven. I like some of the improvements theyve made to the product line. The cook top is much easier to clean than the more commercial style we previously had.We went for a French door refrigerator this time which got the freezer above and has two French doors. The whole refrigerator unit is really good and convenient. It fit in to the opening we have perfectly at the right depth. Everything about it is also pretty first rate. We are happy with the refrigerator and with everything but one thing I have is on the packaging of the product particularly on the refrigerator. When the installers came to install it, they spent forever trying to take the protective material Viking uses over the stainless steel off. They never got all of it off and I can still see some of the adhesive that was used to hold it on there even though Ive used stainless steel cleaners that were recommended. We did the purchase from Pacific Sales which is a brick-and-mortar store in Austin and is apparently a subsidiary of Best Buy. However, the experience was not good with Pacific Sales and horrible with Best Buy. The whole delivery process was a nightmare. We love the products and we had no issues with the installers that Best Buy used, but the length of time the scheduling took and the constant lack of information and the change of information were not good at all. I would probably never buy from Pacific Sales again. When we first started looking, we went online and found vendors that would ship the appliances to our home for free and no sales tax because they had no brick-and-mortar presence in Texas. But I thought of paying the extra sales tax which was substantial just to have that local touch and that good quality customer service which couldnt have been farther from whats the reality. The Viking Range Corporation needs to know that when a customer decides to buy a Viking products from Pacific Sales, which is Best Buy, theyre likely in for a tough go of it. The sales person who we dealt with never called and kind of washed his hands off once we get handed off to this contact person with Best Buy when things started getting kind of going sideways. But now that we have the appliances and theyre all in place, everything seems to be working great. I placed a call with Viking today as I was having some issues with the new wall oven and I got connected to a very knowledgeable person in tech support. He walked me through what he thought were the probable issues. It was more of a problem with me understanding the directions though I read the owners manual pretty closely, but after talking to him, he provided a lot more information about how to use the oven properly than what I got out of reading the owners manual. Also, we had some repairs that needed to be done and Viking always seems to have good customer service. Viking corporate had to handle recall issues and they were good about notifying us for that. However, Ive tried to register these appliances online and Ive only got about half of them done. For some reason, it comes back and says they dont recognize the model number or the model number and the serial number dont match so they cant do it. I have yet to call so thats been a little bit of a pain but no big deal.

The only thing that I dont like is that the stovetop is very hard to keep clean. Its got a shininess, and so it always seems like its very hard to clean. Other than that, the quality is great. They blame it on Viking and so they’re supposed to come back out and do some other stuff to it and they just haven’t followed back up with it. But, I enjoy the flat grill on my range and all the burners that I have. I also like that it heats up fast.

The knobs were falling off and one couldn’t control the height of the flame so that got me looking for another stove. My wife’s sister purchased a Viking Range a couple of months ago and I also decided to buy one. We had some problems about purchasing in the beginning but it all worked out. My wife loves our 36-inch Viking Range. I feel good that it’s in the house and it gives some class to the kitchen. I would recommend Viking Ranges.

We went to a home remodeling show and we liked the way Viking Ranges looked. Aside from that, it was a pro stove with a high performance. We were buying a whole kitchen worth of appliances and the guy that helped us at the Viking dealer was very helpful in picking out all the different models and various other things we wanted to get. He had some good ideas and suggestions about things, so it was all good. We love the quality of the range but the oven igniters kept turning off by themselves, so we had to do a warranty claim. I called Viking directly and they had someone out. Half an hour later, he was done. The igniters were off location and the guy bent them. He knew what he was doing and he also pointed out that one of the four rubber mounting buttons was missing on the grill tops. He told us to call Viking and they would send us a new one for free. He did more than what he was supposed to do. The experience with Viking was all positive and if you can afford it, you should get it.

My choices are limited when I go to 36-inches as far as the manufacturers. Viking was one of them. And at the time, they gave an incentive. When I bought the range, I got a free Viking dishwasher. The quality is good. When the range was delivered, there were some scratches on it. The store that I purchased it from had somebody come out and take care of it. I used the broiler six months after I bought the range and it didnt work. So, the appliance store sent out whoever they use for repairs and service and they were able to fix the problem. The one question I have is why when you go to a 36-inch range, Viking doesnt offer a self-cleaning oven. Also, the 36-inch range is more of a commercial range. Because we pay a good amount for these ranges, Viking should give a tutorial after they install it. How to use it, what to look for, how to clean it. That would be helpful.

New home with all stainless Viking appliances. Microwave great. Electric range, dont like the electric but good product. Refrigerator model RWFVRF1 with interior water system. This appliance has leaked since day 1. The water pooled in the bottom shelf of lower freezer section, iced up, and leak out onto floor often. Had appliance center come and put new drain tube in, which resolved this issue. The ice maker never made but a few cubes, and leaked within unit. The ice maker stopped working and now another $180 for repair. Now that we have ice, we have bigger leak problem onto floating wood floor, which now swelled and needs $1,600 repair. Really looking into replacing the fridge, but may need another Viking to match other appliances. UGH. Viking has been awful as to responding, nothing after trying to contact up to 28 times. They always refer you to appliance centers to fix - $$$ and still leaking. Maybe this is a fluke and the product is good, but not sure how to move forward here.

We have seen Viking in new houses and we liked the look and the reliability. Our range was delivered last year and we installed it a couple of months ago. Its heavy but we got it moved in all right and the installation was easy. We switched over from electric to gas and we really like the gas stove part of it because it feels industrial. Weve been real happy with it and the only issue weve had is a light bulb that burned out. We havent had anybody locally to come out and repair it yet. Weve been trying to contact the people at the place we bought it from or the local shops that work on Viking but we havent had heard back from them. They suggest we dont replace the bulb because its still under warranty, and so were waiting.

After reading some of the reviews, I guess Ive gotten off easy with my fully Viking stocked kitchen, but nevertheless I feel compelled to add to the pile of one star ratings. Granted my Viking appliances are 10 years old, but having had GE and KitchenAid appliances, which last 20 years, my expectations are that if Viking is going to charge THAT much money for an oven, or a dishwasher, then itll last even longer than the other brands. We had a years worth of trouble with our oven burning everything before it finally exploded (literally). After 2 months Viking finally sent the right part. Oh, but they told the repairman to bend the piece to make it fit; even the repair man was incredulous. Now we have been waiting 4 weeks for a part for our dishwasher. I called the day it was due in (today), and nope, not ready. Itll be another 2-3 weeks. Its back ordered. Who is making these parts? Elves that work only by the light of the moon?! Viking: Figure this out. Figure out how to make better appliances (Many, many of your competitors have already figured this out. Its not rocket science). And then, figure out how to get your parts faster. Your turnaround time takes me back to the 1860s. Its absurd. Thankfully we didnt buy these appliances, the previous owners did. But I cannot wait to replace them. My plan is to take all 4 Viking appliances to Burning Man and set them on fire.

I like the look of the stove that I got from them. I also like its quality, which is great. There’s no comparison between my Viking oven and the one that I had in the past, as Ive never had anything of this quality before. The sturdiness of the range is my favorite feature. In addition, the burners are all very accurate and I like the way they burn. I would tell friends to go ahead and buy a Viking range.

I am a advocate of buying American-made every chance I get. So, I was excited that our new place was equipped with all Viking appliances. That being said, I have been very disappointed with all of our Viking appliances, and wish we had something else. As we speak, our dishwasher is making an obnoxious beeping sound. It will not stop. It has been going on for an entire day. I have tried disconnecting, shutting of the main power switch--everything, but to no avail. Dishes are piling up and I am just angry at this stupid machine. What is the point of this stupid design flaw? What is the beep telling me and why cant I shut the stupid thing off. This is just one of my many complaints about Viking. The oven hood/exhaust is insufficient. The burners do not always ignite and when they do the click of the igniter will not stop. The heat distributes unevenly. The oven often just shuts off and ruins whatever I am baking. It will reach 400 degrees and then I come back and my bread is a gooey gob because the oven is cold. The refrigerator/freezer is very poorly designed and the plastic shelves and drawers break very easily. The freezer has basket shelves--it is a bottom freezer drawer under the fridge. So, you put stuff in and the stuff ends up slipping through. The refrigerator water dispenser does not have a light to indicate when the filter needs to be replaced. The dispenser doesnt work if you put the fridge onto the lowest temp available in the model. And, the company has a poor environmental rating because they use a lot of energy--a lot more than Sub-Zero or Bosch, and the filters are not recyclable. With our Bosch, we could send the filters back to the company for recycling. So I would never buy another Viking product. I have used Thermador ranges as a personal chef in other peoples home and they are far superior. I have also envied their Sub-Zero and Bosch appliances. In our other home we had Swedish (Aksa) washer/dryer and Bosch appliances. I miss them. A lot.

Less than a year ago, when we needed a new refrigerator, we were talked into buying a new Viking (as opposed to a Sub Zero that served us so well after many years). Worked fine for the first 8 months or so but 3 weeks ago we realized that our freezer temperature (and then the refrigerator itself) was going up. It got up to almost 70 degrees. We quickly put in a call to dealer who sold and installed our refrigerator. They could not get to us for 3 days because of the Memorial Day week-end. We took everything out of the freezer and refrigerator and took them downstairs to a little portable unit. The service tech called us back the next day and told us to turn off the refrigerator/freezer and leave the doors open for 24 hours. The unit started working the next day so we put everything back in it. The service tech came and told us to keep things away from the vents and that would probably do it. Refrigerator/freezer worked for another 5 days and then it bombed out again. Once again we removed everything and brought it to the small unit downstairs. Once again, it took 3 days to get the service tech back. He put in new control boards and said everything was fine. And again, with great optimism, we moved everything back into the unit.Last night, while making dinner, the upper vent in the refrigerator started making a loud noise. I immediately grabbed my phone and took a video. The freezer temp was already at 16 degrees and going up. Guess what we did? We again moved everything out! We called the service tech right away and sent him the video. He will be here in 3 days. Obviously we are extremely discouraged about this $10,000 unit. And I am extremely tired of running to the little unit downstairs everytime I need something. Give us back our Sub-Zero!!!

I wanted a restaurant quality range for my house because I do a lot of cooking and I wanted something that was gonna last. I know Viking lasts a long time. The dealership took care of me because we do so much business with them since Im a mechanical contractor by trade. I got a good range from Viking. Originally, when I was looking up the part number when I ordered it, I thought I ordered the sealed burners. But when it came to me, they were the open burners, which I decided to go ahead and live with. When I went back and checked the part number, it was my mistake. Other than that, my purchase was exactly what I expected. I like the feature of being able to pull the tray out and clean it so I’m happy with it. I didn’t have a Viking before, personally but I’ve used them though not for myself. All the burners are the same BTU and they all have a simmer function. However, I can’t tell the difference by putting it on simmer, which is like a selection right before high or turning it all the way down to low. The flame looks the same to me. It’s just a very low flame on this big burner. If I need to simmer something, I crank it all the way down to low and it’s simmering. When I bought my Viking, I bought a six-burner range but I only got four of the burner covers in the box that it’s shipped in so I sent an email to a rep. It went to Viking and then it ended up bouncing to a couple of different people. It went from customer service to parts. It was a lot of back and forth and it must have been 12 emails to finally get it sorted out with all these different people that they needed to send me two more burner covers. So that was a little weird. They eventually did send them which took two weeks. But a week later, I got another set of two burner covers. So, there was a little disconnect there. They were kind of screwed up on the parts side of it and now, I got two extras. But overall, I would absolutely recommend Viking. They’re topnotch in quality and service.

Our old Viking Refrigerator was unimpressive for the price. It was just an ordinary refrigerator with a Viking label on it. It was eight years old and a particular part broke. We could have fixed the thing for $200 but they discontinued that part and it was not available. They supposedly keep spare parts for 10 years, but I suspect that this part was defective or broke a lot, so they ran out. So our opinion of Viking is not very good.We bought a new refrigerator and it was the only one that fit in the space that we had. It also costs $1,000 more than other virtually identical refrigerators made by the same company. There were also other better refrigerators that are too tall. The new refrigerators drawers and shelves worked better than the old ones. Its a decent refrigerator, but all refrigerators in that price range are at least as good. Theres nothing special about it.

We were remodeling our home and wanted to get some built-in appliances. We compared Viking to Thermador and some of the other top brands and decided to go with Viking because of their great promotion. The refrigerator looks deceivingly small. So, when you open it, you feel like, Im not going to fit as much stuff in there. But you do fit a lot in there. So, Im pretty pleased with it. The freezer portion makes a couple of noises. It sort of snaps and crackles and makes some little noises there that probably could be improved. But otherwise no, its great. We actually are on our second refrigerator. The first one that arrived was defective. We got a hold of Viking through the company that sold it to us. Viking was great. They sent out a new refrigerator. They came picked up the old one, and there was no problem. It took a little while, but there were some other complications probably that were at play at that time. I bought brand new Viking Professional line 48 refrigerator and 48 Oven about 4 years ago. Since this was for a major renovation to our personal home, we decided on what was easily the most expensive appliances weve ever purchased. I liked that they are American Made, and figured that certainly Viking would stand behind their highest end products, and I wouldnt have to wait weeks for replacement parts from overseas (if I ever needed them). What a BAD DECISON! Since installing the Oven, weve had to pay for replacement of the main circuit board in the oven two times. Now for the Refrigerator: DDSB483DS6. This is the most expensive yet, WORST appliance I have ever purchased. (Im a builder, remodeler, and property manager- so believe me, Ive purchased many refrigerators in my career). The Ice Maker has been replaced twice. The chute where the ice drops from the ice maker to the door does not accept the shape of the ice, so it constantly gets stuck- and definitely DO NOT USE the crushed ice feature as it will freeze and clog this chute! The next hour or so the ice in the chute then melts and drips into the small holding tray which does not drain into the pan below the fridge, so it overflows and runs down the front of the fridge and onto the floor. Further, the pan below the fridge has continuously filled up to overflowing since day 1. To address this we had to create a calendar reminder to empty the pan every 3 days. If not, the water overflows onto the floor!Needless to say, my wood floor in front of the fridge is completely ruined. Over multiple service calls by the Viking Factory recommended repair company(s) to address this, weve purchased a recommended $500 heater element designed to evaporate the water from the pan, and multiple other expensive suggested repairs- all to no effect! It got to the point that I had a drain tube installed from the pan that leads the water outside the house! The latest unpleasant experience began in September 2015. The new Viking repair company (exclusive appliance Svce 770-888-9555- they are awesome!) representative came out, saw the issues and determined that there has been a defective gasket within the door. He explained that this is what has been causing the problems all along. We disconnected the water line to the fridge in order to stop the leaking (therefore, no filtered water or ice since September) while we waited for Viking to provide us with the replacement gasket. Furthermore, this representative made a few calls to Viking on our behalf to explain the cause and ultimate damage caused by this defective part. He took and submitted multiple pictures and written explanation of the damaged floor, and filed a claim on our behalf to have Viking pay to repair the damages. While we waited for the claim to process, the Gasket was finally delivered about 6 weeks later, only to discover that the replacement part was DEFECTIVE as well!! We were then told that the entire manufacturing run of these gaskets are defective, so the new expected delivery date for the new gasket will be 8 weeks later. Ironically, the same day we received this information, the Viking Claims Department contacted me to tell me that Viking had determined that the damage to my floor was not caused by the defective appliance!LONG STORY SHORT, Viking Appliances are the WORST I have ever owned, and even worse, Viking could not care less, and is apparently unwilling to stand behind their products at all. This is the first review I have ever written on a public forum, but if it helps even one person from suffering through this very expensive, horrible experience, then it was well worth my time.

We had to replace our former slide-in in a rush because we were expecting holiday cooking soon. We purchased a Viking D3 after glowing reviews by our saleswoman. But the D3 has never worked right including a month after we purchased it. We had to cook the holiday turkey in the microwave, one part of the bird at a time. After contacting Viking, they sent out a certified repairman who had to order a part from Viking to make the oven usable. That took two weeks. From then on, the temps seemed to be accurate (we had to buy a hanging oven thermometer to tell), but the oven took forever to heat up. Even then, we couldnt cook anything then or now other than one item at a time and have it cook in the desired time. There are three racks in the oven... the instructions even show and explain how to cook using the three racks at once. However, the oven temps will not support using all three racks. We are also dissatisfied with the five upper burners. The center burner can only be used if the cooking pot/skillet is smaller than the large burner size indicates IF you are trying to use the other four surrounding burners simultaneously. You either use the four outside burners OR you use the large center one, but not all five at once due to size of the cooking containers. I am so disappointed. I wish I had purchased a low-end quality stove. This one sure isnt it. DO NOT BUY A VIKING APPLIANCE!!!!!

When we bought the house, it was a new construction. Apple Homes has been building since the Truman administration and we went with the quality and reputation of the builder. Ive had a number of different houses and appliances like Wolf, Thermador, Sub-Zero and LG. The appliances I was really satisfied with was Wolf but Ive always wanted Viking. Then this house had Viking and one of the considerations when we bought it was having the appliances we liked. We had used the Viking range for almost a year and then it freaked everybody out during a dinner party, because as my girlfriend opened it up, the door literally came off in her hand and when she let down, it hit the floor pretty hard. The range is a Professional and it has a heavy door. It was lucky it didnt land on her foot as the door couldve broken it. There was only one service tech in this area and that’s who came out and put the door on. He also said that when it was installed, it may not have had the door adjusted right because it was bent and it fell out. From what Apple Homes told me, the installer was Viking-approved because they got it from whoever could sell Viking. Yet they did it incorrectly so its like damned if you do and youre damned if you dont.Plus, weve had problems with the Viking refrigerator too. The ice machine goes everywhere when we use it and it doesnt click off. Its just poor design. I even thought it was a Professional but the service person told us it was actually another manufacturer that did that particular model for Viking. It wasnt really a Viking. Thats very misleading and I wasnt aware of that. The service cost us $100 because when the service person came out, they said he couldnt find our warranty online and we couldnt find copies either. We had sent all the registration and we dated it from when we first moved in. So we got it again from the builder and refilled it out. However, the service guy did say that Viking might reimburse the $100 service call fee. This happened just right after our first year and Im not sure but I think appliances got more than a one-year warranty. I hope so, for something that expensive. Hopefully it wont have any other issues because we like the way it cooks. We loved the stove and we wouldve recommended it until the door fell off. When that happened, we hated it.

We were pleased with the Viking oven and microwave in our other house so we wanted a stove with a black face on it when we build our new house. We’ve only been using it for about a month and a half but we have no issues, we are delighted and it worked out well. Being able to cook with gas is nice. You can control the heat and with the grill on the top with six burners, you can cook a lot. One burner also has a higher BTU on it which is nice. We bought it from Ferguson in the town we lived in. The Viking dealer has a good reputation and known for its bath and kitchen showroom. We didnt hesitate to go to them when we wanted to pick out the appliances. It was a good experience, delivery was on time and they did exactly what they said they were going to do. Registering on the website was easy. We looked at the serial and model number which I got off the stove and the instruction booklet.
