Im not satisfied with Viking and I dont recommend them. I bought a whole bunch of their appliances but most of them had an issue. The refrigerator has missing parts and the icemaker doesn’t work. I called customer service, then someone came to my house and ordered the parts. But after that, nobody contacted me. The telephone call is friendly, and so were the people that came to my house. Theyre just too slow.

I am very disappointed with Viking. I purchased a Viking Dishwasher (Model VDB450SS, Serial No. 081910D00018347) for my home and subsequently registered the product. I was never notified of a fire hazard recall on my unit (Recall date: April 10, 2012; Recall number: **) which states [c]onsumers should immediately stop using the recalled dishwashers and contact Vikings hotline for a free in-home repair. I discovered the recall on or about January 25, 2016, when my units electrical circuit ceased operation and I inquired about service. Thankfully no fire. I called the recall hotline, (800) 241-7239, was assigned Customer ID No. **, and was promised a repair kit would be delivered to my home within 15 business days. On March 1, 2016, I call back to the hotline to report that the repair kit still had not arrived, and I was advised that the issue was escalated and that another kit would be sent because they could not trace the 1st one. On March 24, 2016, I again called the hotline because no repair kit has been received. I was told that the company answering the hotline reported the matter to Viking and while I was placed on hold, they tried without success to reach Viking. I left my cell number and demanded a call back. The failure of Viking to timely address the recall is unacceptable. My family of 4 has been without a dishwasher for 2 months now.

My experience with the refrigerator purchased from Viking has been a huge disappointment. Since my purchase I have had over 15 service calls on my frig. Although Ive contacted Viking to express my frustration, the best I get from their service department---- is well nothing! Since my warranty has expired they no longer care that the product is defective. I wanted to send the service records to show that we have had problems day one but they refused. You would think that an 8,000 dollar refrigerator would have been built better---not the case. I will never buy another Viking product!

We purchased a home which has a Viking Dual Fuel Self-Clean range. The previous owner rarely cooked, so the range should have been like new. My wifes hobby is cooking. The oven temp. was never correct. The self cleaning worked only once. The second time we tried to use it the heat never came on and the door locked. Now the door lock continues to lock and unlock making it impossible to use the oven (this continues to cycle even though everything on the range is off???). Thanks for the heads up in your long list of complaints. We will save enough on service calls to buy a quality product. This expensive, useless, paperweight is going to the curb.

Vikings customer service was outstanding. The guy that remodeled my house was pretty cuckoo, in no real detail or into especially for that kind of stuff. There were six appliances here that are all Viking and the reps worked with me very nicely about getting all the model numbers and the serial numbers. We got them all registered. There was never any question that it was a maintenance issue or a warranty issue. The only drawback I see about the refrigerator is that when I pull open the drawer of the icemaker, ice falls behind the drawer and into the cabinet where I cant get those loose cubes out. Still, its a great product.

We bought a $9,000 refrigerator from Viking two years ago and we experienced some problems with it during Labor Day weekend. The freezer would work but the refrigerator part wouldn’t get cold. It was frustrating because we called the repair service but they didn’t have any record of us. So, we had to fax them the bill of sale and they said it would take three or four days for us to get into their system which was unacceptable because we had no refrigerator.I called them on a Wednesday and they arranged for someone to come out. But they were tied up Thursday, Friday and the holiday, plus they didn’t work Saturday or Monday, so it was Tuesday when they came out. They looked around and found that there was a part that was supposed to be attached to a cooling conduit and it wasn’t. Apparently, they didn’t do it in the factory. So, their reps put a new part and left. Two days later, the refrigerator still wouldn’t get cold. I called the guy again and he came out a day later and found out that the fan in the refrigerator part wasn’t working. He replaced the fan but the refrigerator part still did not get cold. So, we had to call him the third time. This time, he discovered that the conduit in the freezer was freezing up. They ordered the parts and it was going to be four days more before it came in. We were out of a refrigerator for a month and it was inconvenient. Finally, he put heaters in the conduit which they probably should have done in the factory when they made the refrigerator. It’s working fine now but I’m a little concerned now to be having all these problems. Fortunately, it was under warranty. But if something happens in another year when the refrigerators out of warranty, its on me. Those parts that they were putting in were quite expensive. Viking should’ve anticipated some of these problems. When you manufacture a refrigerator that costs that much money, you expect it to be working fine. I have an old refrigerator in my pool house that’s 30 years but still working perfectly and I paid $150 for it several years ago.

I had a lot of trouble with my Viking range. When I turned the convection, it was so loud that I would never use it. But Ive not had a convection option before, so I didnt know that what I had wasn’t how it should be. And because it was way too hot, I called to have it calibrated, and the man who came out was outstanding. He tested the temperature, turned on the convection and said, That shouldnt sound like that. So he took it off and ordered the part. But the first time they ordered it, the wrong part came in. They called me that day and told me that he had checked it and it wasnt the right part, then they ordered the new one and they were wonderful. After it was fixed, I baked a cake and I loved it.We also bought another non-Viking appliance from Specialty Appliance in Colorado, where we bought our Viking range, and that had trouble, too. First we tried to have it fixed ourselves, and then I remembered that the salesman of Specialty Appliance had said, If anything is wrong, call us. So, I called them and they jumped all over getting somebody here and getting it fixed. And as for my range I love how it looks and how easy it is to take the grids off the top and clean it. I also love the gas cooktop with the electric oven. Im very happy with Viking.

I wanted a Viking range for decades, so every time I looked at commercial-type ranges, it was usually either Viking or Wolf. But, Viking has always been the commercial style range that I wanted, but I put it off for years and years because I wanted the double oven size with six burners. Then I realized that to get the one I wanted, it would involve remodeling half of my kitchen to make space for it. So, I finally decided that, instead of putting it off because of that, Im just going to get the 30-inch one, so it would fit into the existing space. And so I did and Im happy. I bought ours at Colders, a furniture store, and I worked with someone who specializes in Viking ranges. It is an authorized dealer.Ive always had electric ranges my whole life. And one of the things that I havent liked in the past about gas ranges is the gas oven. Id prefer an electric oven and a gas stovetop. And now that they make dual-fuel ranges that are the perfect answer for me. Also, I just like the ruggedness of it. The hole that you put the pots on, theyre like army tanks. Theyre big, heavy, iron grates that are just so well-built. And the whole thing is heavy-duty that can last a lifetime. I like the simplicity of it, too. The electric range that I replaced was all digital. It had all kinds of extra digital features that I never used. This one has mechanical knobs, and everything works perfectly. However, the caveat is theyre expensive. So, you really have to be dedicated to cooking. If they were cheaper, I would have bought two. You really have to want that kind of a range before you are willing to spend that much money. Other than that, from the performance and quality of the Viking, it is 5-star all the way. It would be my top recommendation for a commercial range.

I went around to a lot of different stores, saw the different functionalities and I liked what Viking had to offer. The range has a great quality. Were waiting on parts and it seems to be a waiting game with Viking. We have a serviceman working on it. But its a good range and I really have no problems with it. I had a friend that had a Viking range. It was reliable and I also like the way it looks. The Viking range was good, once I got it fixed. My favorite feature would be how quickly I can cook a meal, the burners get hot and the oven stays relatively warm. The feature that I do not like is on the oven, how the temperature resets. If it gets up to 400 degrees, and you’re baking a cake, and then, it stops. Once it reaches 400 degrees, a fan comes on, it’s like I have to cook the cake a little bit longer. I dealt with my home warranty company. I think it was the igniter switch but it took of months to get the part ordered. But that was the only bad part.

We then picked out other Viking products to go with it. However, the refrigerator has leaking problems and I’ve been waiting for about two weeks now to get any sort of service from Viking. It’s been really awful. They only have one person in the Des Moines area who services the product, and when the rep called to set something up, she was really rude and refused to service my refrigerator. I was choosing between a Wolf or a Viking and at that time, Viking was having a rebate so I went with them. I like that it was made in America and have the stickers on it but the quality is horrible. On Thanksgiving day, it caught on fire. The conduction oven doesnt work and the regulator for the gas has had to be adjusted three times. The product is a total lemon. Im working with the supplier who says hes working on my behalf with Viking and I am going to go to every review site I can find and post if they dont do something to remedy this $5,000 stove that I invested in. Prior to when I first built my house, I bought good appliances and I was hoping that this Viking would be even better and this would be the last range that I would have to purchase, being of the quality. But every time I bake, it rattles the vent or fan but theyve tried taping it.My husband and I are so disappointed. We made this decision together. I cook all the time and it doesnt even completely work. It caught on fire because they didnt connect it to the gas thing properly. It wasnt a plumbers fault. They didnt make the stove correctly so I am upset. Its documented through the repair person including the type of visits. I even had a plumber come and look at it separately from the repair person. Even the repair person said Viking is not very good at standing by their equipment once we get it. And thats from the person whos selling it in his store. Unfortunately, Im all the way in Hawaii so I realize they dont want to pay shipping. I had a KitchenAid prior to this and I didnt want an electronic motherboard. That was another big decision maker, cause its very humid in Hawaii. In Vikng, the knobs are on the front so I felt its a better investment cause in the long run the motherboards breakdown. Also, theyve had to move the range in and out and its gotten scratched, not because of anything Ive done. The racks are now uneven inside of it because the repair guy has had to take them in and out so many times. My husbands tried fixing it himself but the only thing thing that works properly are the burners on the top and thats it. Everything else is wrong. Ive had to call Viking when it first caught on fire. Its still under warranty but it is only good for so far. And in the first three months, this thing has had four repairs and thats not right. They should try to work with me and replace it. But theres been no contact and no accountability.

I originally had a Thermador, but I was looking at Consumer Reports and the ratings, and the next best one I saw was the Viking. It was a little less expensive than the Thermador, so I went with them. I liked that they have professional-grade appliances, so I purchased from an online dealer, appliancesconnection.com. I got the Viking dishwasher, fridge and stove on a package deal. I live in California and the appliances came from across the United States, so it took a couple of weeks to get them. At that time, I was in Spain and my house is under construction, so that didnt matter to me very much. When I received the items, the front part of the dishwasher was damaged. I contacted Viking to let them know. I spoke with a reps but the interactions I had with them were so-so. I said that I wanted to keep the dishwasher, but I asked them if I could have a new faceplate put on. They said yes, but they kept giving me the runaround for a couple of months. They said that the appliance would be coming from overseas, which wasnt true because it is manufactured in the United States. Also, the refrigerator lights already went out, so I need to call them and let them know to have them come and repair it. In addition, the dishwasher keeps leaking from the door. But other than a few little problems that I had, everything has been great. I love the oven and the stove works great. I like Vikings products and I would tell people to order them.

Weve had Viking Ranges for years. My wife likes the look and the performance of these ranges. Our current range is night and day compared to the one that weve bought 10 years ago. The quality and the features have improved. We got an eight-topper, and it really accents a high end kitchen well for looks and performance. We had a little bit of an install issue with the dealer named Big Georges in Ann Arbor. One of the lights was not screwed in and I didn’t feel I got a good follow up from them. I called, went down there and asked for some help but they were kinda telling me that I am own my own. That pissed me off. Of the three Viking appliances I recently purchased, I love the range and dishwasher, however this is a 1-star review and that is due to the refrigerator having been nothing but problems. Viking sent a 3rd party repair person to correct the issue. Due to my location (apparently) it took the repair company 2 weeks to get out here, 5 weeks to order parts and another week to return. I live an hour outside of Pittsburgh and an hour from Cleveland, so the location really shouldnt be a problem. However, I waited 2 months to get the refrigerator fixed (it freezes our food - even when set to 37 degrees). The problem still persists. I called Viking Customer Care again today, and expressed my frustration not only with the quality of the product, but also the time it took (2 months) to get the repair parts installed and that didnt even fix the issue. I think Viking refrigerators are generally great, but I got a defective unit. And rather than send me a replacement unit (since weve already gone down the repair path). Viking is sending another repair technician to my home. The customer care representative, asked for my serial number. After providing it, she indicated that it wasnt valid - which she confirmed later on in our conversation that it was indeed correct. I also had to repeat my address several times. When she would look up a service option, and return to the screen she told me my address was gone. My appliances are all registered on Vikings website, why the customer care representative wasnt able to pull my information from that or from my previous support case seems counter-intuitive. For a supposed higher quality appliance, Im disappointed I wasnt provided higher quality of service. And I have to wonder how many times Ill be doing this until my refrigerator works as advertised, or until I give up and get rid of the unit. I NEVER had this issue with my Sub-Zero!

Ive always known about Viking Refrigerators for a long time and it was in the house that we purchased. There was a Viking Range, a Viking refrigerator, and a stove then. I was replacing an existing Viking refrigerator that was about 17 or 18 years old. It was built-in so I was looking for something that would fit into the exact space where it was. And when I went to the appliance store, the salesperson at the appliance store steered me to Viking. I was buying a refrigerator and a dryer that day and he showed me something else but he strongly suggested the Viking and since I didn’t have any negative feelings about Viking, I went with it. This refrigerator will be the third refrigerator and the first one kept having problems. It would freeze up and the icemaker wouldn’t work. The refrigerator section would heat up to about 43 degrees and the freezer would get down incredibly cold. I had six service calls on it and finally, the service guy said, “I think we need to get this thing replaced.” So Viking replaced it after several weeks and sent a new one out to Asien’s Appliance here in Santa Rosa and they delivered it. However, the guys that delivered it couldn’t align the doors properly. The refrigerator section was about half inch or a bit lower. The door was lower than the freezer side so I called the people that handle the warranty repairs again and the guy came out and looked at it. He said that there was something wrong with it and maybe it was dropped. He couldn’t fix it and jury-rigged it so the door worked. For a while, the door wouldn’t even close but then he worked on it again and he got the door to close by taking some part out. I got word that Viking set up a delivery of a replacement for that one. This will be the third one and hopefully, it will be okay. I wouldn’t recommend them to a friend but at least Viking is faithfully standing by their warranty.

We have had a Viking french door refrigerator installed since November 2016. First the ice in the freezer spills out behind the drawers not allowing the freezer door to always close completely, or the ice spills out over our wood floor when we open the door. We have had frozen food ruined and continuously have to dig behind the drawers and remove ice. Then ice began forming in the regular refrigerator drawers. A repairman has been out twice and says he is awaiting parts. Why he did not identify the need for the parts the first time he was out, I dont know. The refrigerator is a lemon and should be replaced. It has not run correctly since we bought it. Photo of serial number attached.

We have a problem with holding one of them and we thought maybe were doing something wrong. If I cant figure it out, Im going to call somebody to look at it because I have insurance on it.But other than that, I like it. I like that I can go off to the other side on the top and that I could move from one area to another easily. I like that its apple red because I dont like the stainless steel which is so hard to clean. I also like the way the knobs are covered from the top and its size. I like everything about it. My friend also has a Viking and she only has broil and regular bake on it. I like the simpler one but mine has all these other options that Im working on how to figure it out. We know and we like Viking so we go Viking all the way. We have two stoves, one gas, one electric, a microwave, and a dishwasher. Theyre easy to use and everythings upfront. Everything else we buy these days, including a car, comes with a tutorial on DVDs and 48-page pamphlets just to introduce the other pamphlets. But Viking we just look at it and there it is. Our Viking refrigerator is only a few days old and so far its been fine compared to the other one, which was a disaster. Its very steady and has a door alarm. In case I get caught in a fugue like state I can always be reminded by the alarm. And everythings uniform in terms of refrigeration throughout the compartment, which we like. I also like that it has a barrier bar between in the back of the right hand door so when we’re closing it it really seals. The ice maker is good. We can turn it off if we dont want it and there are no issues about leaks and going into trays. It is very self-contained and efficient. The Viking dealer have very friendly folks. They told us about others brands, more for contrast. They didn’t try to sell us anything else. Once they saw we were going Viking they reinforced things and they were very efficient. There was a lot of communication. They called us back and forth. The driver with the appliance had called us three times telling about his route. They did exactly what they said they were going to do, price wise and in terms of the delivery date and the people who brought it in. The delivery folks were great. They spent over an hour leveling things and they did a great job. They were very careful and neat and one of the best deliveries weve had since we were here. The only thing that Id have to get used to is the bottom drawer which is a long drawer and gives good storage for the cold zone but theres nothing about that that we use right now. Although I could see for the future we might be loading different sorts of perishables in there. We have to open both doors to get that lower drawer open. Its not a problem it just culturally I hadnt been doing that. And should a friend ask me about Viking refrigeration I’d say, “If youre rich, get it.”

My Viking is about a year old, and within this first year, Ive had to replace an igniter for the griddle on the top and the bulbs for all the lights in the front. Ive found that the preheating cycle on these ovens is extraordinarily long compared to most other ovens. I dont like the feature that while its preheating, you cant put anything in because it will just scald it. There are some ovens that even during the preheating cycle, you can start heating up something or put your food in there. I do all my baking in my $500 gas oven because I just turn it on and I stick my stuff in. But I dont even use the oven of the Viking because it takes about 20 minutes just to preheat. I cant put anything in until the light turns off and its ready. Also, the ceramic paint on the top of my stove has already started to chip off so Ive had to put touch-up paint on it. I had a Dacor stovetop before this and I had it for 15 years, and the ceramic or painted metal part at the top never had any kind of scratching or damages. When I bought this Viking I thought, Wow, Ive got the top-of-the-line. I spent a lot of money. This is gonna be the best. But the burners have been very nice. I enjoy cooking on the gas burners.

I used to work in restaurants. I’ve known Viking for years, and I love the quality of their ranges. From having a noncommercial unit previously they work better. The oven makes heating temperatures more exact. It cooks more evenly. The burners are designed to where they actually just operated at a different level, a higher level. I would recommend it. You wouldn’t be disappointed, and youd be happy with it. Theres definitely a difference between a commercial unit and the standard gas range that you could buy anywhere.

I bought a refrigerator and a freezer from Viking Refrigerators because of their reputation. My favorite feature is the built-in lock. However, Im not satisfied with them because of the issues that were having and theyre coming tomorrow to fix them. The drain at the bottom of the refrigerator doesn’t drain correctly so it fills up with water inside below the meat compartment and sometimes it runs onto the floor. On the freezer, were having an issue with the icemaker. The service was the only contact I had with them. Our conversation went fine but the only problem was that Im in a rural area. I had to wait six weeks for them to come over to where this was located to do service. That part has been a bit of a hassle. It was frustrating just because of the service issue.

Being a Chef, I am very particular on whats in my home kitchen, seeing that my wife and I like to entertain (as my time permits). This oven has exceeded my expectations. Not on just looks, but performance. It heats very quickly, cooks/bakes very well, and the temperature probe is accurate. Its a real eye-catcher when someone walks into my kitchen.

Were happy with the range but the purchase experience was not without difficulties. Immediately after installation, three warranty service calls were necessary due to faulty wiring on the convection fan and broiler ignition failures. The issues were not due to shipping. The stove came with a list of quality control checks but obviously, the factory is hasty in final QC. Its a pity because the build and design are so nice. Checking its operation at the factory would have revealed the problems and saved everyone a lot of inconvenience.

The refrigerator was broken so we called the warranty company. It didnt resolve until one month later so we didnt have a refrigerator for a whole month. I guess everybody was busy. We just wish that Viking will have warranty people who come a little earlier to get the problem resolved. But they changed some part, including some sensor somewhere. It was defective, initially. It has been working since the repair was done and we havent seen any similar issue coming up.

Plus, I didnt feel like I was getting pushed into something I didnt want. We had an issue when the first range showed up with some markings and scratches so we had to return it. The next one we got had a problem with the bottom right range igniting. Still, the range I got in the end works fine and looks good. It has four burners. It also has an open burner and I like the BTUs on it. I also like its low simmer feature.

Weve been having a lot of problems with our refrigerator. From the beginning, the freezer side would not seal properly and we couldnt figure out why. The contractor took a look at the door and he realized that the seal thing was disconnected. It took them three or four weeks to get the part here to get it fixed and meanwhile, our freezer was working really hard but that got fixed. But from the get-go, our fridge has been super loud. At first, we thought it was because the cabinet up above was a little loose. We tightened that cabinet up and the fridge is still super loud. Were still going back and forth with Wiking and it is not resolved. Its just a bunch of escalation to somebody who doesnt call back. The people are very nice at Viking but nothing has really been accomplished. Its not the right fridge to buy for $10,000. We should have bought a different fridge.

We bought a new construction condo about 11 years ago and the builder put a Viking in there. That was the first Viking we owned. This time, we did our due diligence in looking at some of the other things that were out there. We looked at Wolf, but I liked the simplicity of Viking. We’re also very happy with the quality of the range. My wife does the bulk of the cooking and she really likes the evenness of the heating in the oven. All the burners are like power burners. Most of the stoves out there, you get one that maybe can put out the BTUs. But all the ones, Viking can do.Having now owned our second Viking, it seems, however, like the lighting on the burners is always a little tricky. Lighting the burners, its clicking and it’s not lighting and then I have to turn the knob. We have tenants in the condo that has a Viking and more often than not, especially when they’re new, people have a little issue lighting it and that’s one area that Viking could improve on. We had someone come out with the one in the condo and they said it was the igniter. We replaced that and the unit performed exactly the same way after, so it seems like it’s just the way it works.

I had a kitchen remodel and they installed the Viking range, and the unit itself was level front to back and side to side. But the cooking surfaces, which include the range top and the ovens, were not level. They dipped down in the front. I only noticed it when I was making Christmas morning breakfast and I was cooking pounds of bacon on the griddle that covers both the burners. All the grease was collecting in the front of the griddle, which is not safe. If I had not been paying attention, it would have overflowed into the front, right into the burner and cause a fire.I called Viking to state that I had this issue, and they sent one of their authorized service people to come out and look at it. The tech guy was by himself and he couldn’t do much. He fiddled around and then he left. I got a phone call a couple of weeks later that said, “Your case has been closed. There is nothing that can be done with your range. I went back to Viking and they were like, “We got a copy of the report and the report states that it’s an installation problem which is not our issue. You need to go back to whoever installed it.” When they came out to look at my range, my contractor was here. He was talking to the service man and said, “Everything is perfect. I followed all the instructions. Everything is laid out the way it’s supposed to be. Nothing is butting up against it.” It went back and forth and finally, I asked for another different authorized service company to come out. Before they came out, Viking called me and said, “This second opinion you’re getting is not covered.” The second service company came out, and they came out with two guys. The older gentleman looked at the range and said, “Your surface isn’t level.” They took care of it and now its level. He gave me my slip and I was like, “How much do I owe you?” He said, “We are charging Viking for this. It is their problem. You’re not paying for this.” Overall the Viking range is a wonderful thing to cook on when everything is okay. Up until recently, I was cooking for a very large family and boys eat a lot of food on a four-burner cooktop. Now I have an eight-burner range so I can cook to my heart’s content and not have to shuffle things around, shove them in the oven or put them in the grill. I got the range and it came with a microwave drawer which is wonderful. The only thing that I did not get was the range hood because they charge you for it and then they charge you for the fan motors separately.

Wolf and Viking were our go-to brands and Viking Ranges price point was better than Wolf. The Viking dealer we bought it from was more of a challenge. We had a damaged Viking hood that we had to get replaced and I know the product was non-Viking. We got a fourth trim kit before it was not dented out of the box. If I didnt go in there and follow up all the time, I wouldnt have it. They could have answered emails or returned phone calls. And I was very disappointed that we spent like $38,000 of them. But we eventually got it all resolved four months later. Its the best oven weve ever owned. When you cook meat in it, everything just comes out so much better. Its easier to cook them to temp. We cooked one of those Tomahawk steaks for the first time and it came out just like in a restaurant. It was amazing. My wife likes the gas grills because before weve had all kinds of high-end electric ovens over the years and they were okay but not like this oven.

We inherited our Viking refrigerator when we bought our house. I heard that Viking was a sort of a higher-end product. When we knew the house had Viking products in it, that spoke well to us. Weve had our fridge for about two years now and I like it. It works really well and Im pleased. But we had this unfortunate experience at outset with repairs that needed to be made for the fridge to be at my standard because I try to keep things really nicely. Im pretty careful with things. The previous owner, on the other hand, didn’t take good care of things. He broke the handle that fitted into the fridge and we paid to get that done. The drawer at the bottom of the fridge didn’t have a cover on it which I couldn’t believe. We had that one replaced. The people at Priority Appliances in Vancouver helped us out. They told us how to remove the grill and keep it clean underneath. I get weary of parts breaking and the cost of repairing them. The gasket that goes around to keep the door closed keeps ripping. We replaced it once and I don’t wanna replace it again for another couple of hundred dollars.I hope our Viking last us a long time. It is much better than my LG fridge that I had before.

I have some friends that own Viking appliances in their home and they have gourmet kitchens. When I’m over there, sometimes they extend their kitchen to me and it’s beautiful. We love to cook. When we have other visitors that come in, they utilize our kitchen, so I want the best stuff. We have not had the full experience with our Viking range, but so far the stove top is awesome. I also used the broiler for some great T-bone steaks. I like that it’s so spacious and easy to clean. I had one bad experience with their team at the dealer, but that was in-house and the general manager extended a conversation with us and took care of that. The only thing I wish I would’ve gotten was the wheels, but that would’ve made it a little different configuration. Other than that, it’s perfect.

When moved into a brand-new house, our Viking refrigerator came with it together with a stove and dishwasher. I like the refrigerators big drawer thats underneath the space for vegetables and fruits. So far, we already had some huge part replaced on it which cost about $2,000. We called Viking about it and they gave us the repairman that they recommended. The repairman came out and the refrigerator got fixed a month ago. But I can hear the sound starting to build up again so Im a little concerned about that. Other than that, Ive had an awful experience with the dishwasher. It broke and it took almost three months to be replaced because they couldn’t fix it. So I went all the way through Thanksgiving and Christmas without a dishwasher. They finally replaced it by the end of November because they could never get the part in. As for the oven, as expensive as it is, we already had to have a $3,000 replacement part for it. That was done about two weeks ago but when I turned it on yesterday to cook dinner, the part’s already broken. So, I need to have a repairman come again and replace it or fix it again because it will turn on to 350 but it won’t change temperature. When the appliances are working, it’s great but when it doesn’t work, it is horrible. Viking doesn’t come to replace things and the quality of their products doesn’t hold up to what the expense is going to cost.

This morning my Viking range turned on by itself. I researched and found that there is a voluntary recall by Viking for this exact problem, but when I called I was told that my model was not covered under the voluntary recall, so they would not send me the repair kit. Instead they told me to contact an authorized repair service. While in the phone with Viking, my oven turned on by itself four more times. My oven is now unplugged and we have disconnected the gas line. I am extremely nervous about this issue. My model is the 307 series. Covered under the recall is the 306 and 308 series, among others. Does this make sense? No. In addition to this problem, we have had to replace the glass seal, hinges and oven igniters. We also purchased a Viking microwave which broke within the first 13 months. Very unhappy. Should have purchased a Wolf.

My parents owned a Sub-Zero which only makes built-in refrigerators and not stand-up ones. Ive heard of Viking in the past and theyre my number two choice. However, I received my refrigerator damaged. A lot of parts under it were bent so its not leveled and I have to put a piece of wood behind the fridge to level it. Also, the bottom grille doesnt line up with the fridge. Theres also frost build-up all around the inside of the fridge where the cool air comes out of the little vents. Theres supposed to be a gap in between the shelves but theyre touching. And the door slams hard. It doesnt feel like a normal fridge. Its hard and its like plastic on plastic when it closes. The freezer door is not even with the refrigerator doors like its pushed in on one side. When I close it, it’s supposed to be flush with the doors but only one side is pushed down and one side is pulling out. The Viking team was friendly but they took a while to return calls. I spoke to a representative and she said she was going to check on my fridge. I had to call her the next week and they were supposed to call me back two days later and this last week but I still havent heard from them. They said they were going to send out somebody to repair the fridge but the company guy said its irreparable. Overall, Vikings built-ins are very good but their stand-ups are not.

We purchased a free standing Viking Professional Range for our kitchen remodel. After a couple of years the griddle went on one night by itself and started a fire in our kitchen at 3am. Needless to say this was a harrowing experience. We had to have our entire kitchen and living room cleaned and repainted. The response from Viking was to send out a repair guy and change the control. Viking offered nothing for the cost of the fire damage and pushed back on helping out with even providing a new griddle cutting board.A couple of weeks ago the replacement switch went off by itself in the middle of the night again. Causing a second fire in our kitchen at 1:30am. We have contacted Viking and they offered to send out a repair company to replace the control again. We want this range removed from our home. This Viking Range is dangerous. There is a national recall on these. Look out for their expensive junk.Viking was bought by Middleby a few years ago. Since then the products are truly not worth it. They are cheaped out cost contained products at a high price. They put some stainless steel fronts with nice logos and call it professional. It is very poorly made unreliable sparkly stuff. From the day my refrigerator was installed, it didnt work. The temperature was always above 45 degrees. A repairman was sent to my house 12 times between April 2008 and May 2009. Then miraculously, a different guy came and it seemed worked for 14 months. To this day, I do not know how one guy fixed it in 10 minutes when another guy came 11 times, spent hours and still couldnt fix it. When I voiced this concern, the company accused me of saying the guy did something unethical. So I let it go. A huge mistake. Now, the same old problem is back. I had to agree to pay for the service call and parts which I did. The tech guy recommended certain parts. The repair guy never used those parts instead, he installed a part for $165.00 which was already replaced twice. It cost me $404.00 and the refrigerator is once again not working. Temperature is above 45 degrees. So now what? Junk a $6000.00 refrigerator? I continue to pay for service calls that should have been taken care of when the refrigerator was installed. This is a black hole. No way out. Viking service is terrible. They do not back their products. Do not buy Viking.

We have had Viking Ranges since they pretty much came out. We are on our third Viking Range. When we remodeled our house, my husband wanted to get me something high quality because I’m a baker and I cook a lot. So we’ve researched and thats what came up. I like the way the Viking Range looks. We also renovate houses since the 80s and we always put a Viking Range in there. We flip higher end houses and people wanted Viking look or Wolf. We bought one Wolf and I hated the Wolf. I was like, Forget it. I don’t have to buy another Wolf. Weve bought plenty of Viking Ranges. The first one I had was a gas range and I loved it. And then we traded that for a dual fuel electric oven which I hated. The oven was much smaller and I couldnt fit all my baking pans. I couldnt even fit a turkey in it. I was really disappointed in that. It also started arching, spitting and shooting flames out the vent and the top. Wed called Viking to find out if there was any root cause. And they said not that they are aware of. So we ended up going through our insurance company in getting a new one. I got the Dual Fuel Viking Range. Its the four-burner. They did change the oven so its much bigger. Ive baked four cakes already with it and its only been a month. I wish they would have had one on the floor so I could have looked at it. But most people arent caring them because theyre so expensive. The people that I talked to at Viking have been very nice. But I wish we could have gotten more information about the other one that had started the fire. They didnt seem very interested and we still have that oven. They werent also going to take the oven so we figured we just hang on to it and see. Were thinking of making an outside kitchen and just tearing the oven apart and turning it into an outside stove. They also have people who came to hook a Viking Range up but hooked up the electric cord wrong. So then we didnt have an oven for a week cause it wouldnt work. Somebody came to fix it. They replaced the cord and took it right one on and that works great.

We were looking for those high-end ranges and we looked at the model. We liked the self-closing feature the most and the other brand name didn’t have it, which was why we chose Viking. The quality of the range is not bad but it doesn’t have a lot of features. Compared to my old one, which is about $3,000, the Viking range doesn’t have a timer, a warm-up feature and a clock. We had an issue with it in the beginning but we asked for service and the guy fixed it for us, but I don’t know if it is a strong range. Also, once I roast or bake something, the grease spreads out and I have to clean the oven very hard every time. Mine is a 7 Series Viking Range and it doesn’t have self-cleaning, but my old one has that. Some repair people come with knowledge and some have different opinions. I did not buy the Viking refrigerator from the same dealer, so I did not register my refrigerator but they have a warranty for 10 years. The handle came off after less than a year of using the refrigerator and it did not come with any instruction to fix the handle but I figured out how to fix it. That’s top-of-the-line so I was expecting it to be quiet but that’s not the case. The actual noise that comes out of that refrigerator is absolutely unacceptable and terrible. Its super high pitched, like a whistling sound. Its the loudest refrigerator Ive ever had. Ive had two people come out and look at it and they weren’t very helpful. One was here for five minutes and said, “No, that’s just the compressor. No, its a little bit louder than most but that’s just normal.” That was it and then he left. I had three homes and several different refrigerators and for them to act like it was normal but mine was a little bit louder than the rest made me wonder if there was really something wrong with it. Even my husband said that weve spent almost $4,000 on this fridge and its super loud. Im just going to have to live with it and maybe down the line, if it doesn’t break in, then Im going to have them come back out. And Id tell others not to buy one because they might get a loud one like mine.

I’ve had friends with Viking and I thought it was a really good one. But mine has had a lot of trouble. My range was put together wrong so it burned out wires. It won’t work half of the time. I’ve only had it since November and I probably cooked on it three months out of all these months I’ve had it. It’s not really good. Viking sent someone to look at it and they worked on it one time, replaced some things, and got it going. But something else went wrong and maintenance people were sent to check it but Viking refused to pay for the service. They were supposed to get in touch with me to figure out what Viking is gonna do about my problem. The guys who worked on my unit said Viking just needs to send me a new one because mine never worked. We’ve spent a ton of time and I haven’t been able to use my range. It’s still sitting there. Viking got feedback from me and I’m still waiting on them to call me back. They won’t return my phone calls. I used my unit when it worked but I waited two months to fix it the first time. That’s so unsatisfactory. I need someone to fix my Viking.

We renovated our entire kitchen through P.C. Richards and we purchased Viking through them for our cooking range and I like the look of it. I was supposed to contact them because of two things. One is I was very disappointed aftermarket that I couldnt get a grill pan. We have a lot of company in our summer house and we cook a lot of eggs and bacon. I want a grill like the grill top that I could just put on. I called when we first got the range last year and they said theyll be coming out with it. I called again this year and they still havent. The second thing is one of the burners got defective. It leaks, so we cant use them. It shoots up flames that could cause a fire. When you put it on low and then high, there are flames that really come out of it. But, other than that, were very happy with our Viking Range.

We had Viking range many years ago in our other home. We purchased again and when I got the oven, three months later, it stopped working. So I called the distributor that I bought it from and they contacted Viking and got the approval for warranty repair. Then they had a local service company contact me to take care of the problem. The contractors were fine. The issue with the Viking oven is that the hinges were either the wrong hinges or installed improperly. The oven did not close and stay closed. So during baking, it would overheat and a safety feature would kick in and turn the oven off. It was disappointing to have an oven that we had thought was really a good product, come and basically stop working, not being usable within three months. The service repairman replaced two parts that he thought were temperature-related. But it turned out that it was the door not staying closed that was causing the oven to malfunction. Its working fine now that the door stays closed. I like the range itself now that it works.

Viking refrigerator is very expensive at $13,000 plus tax. However, it was not that great because within a few months it stopped cooling down. On the contrary, it was warming up so it was losing a lot of food a couple of times. Luckily, it was under warranty so they replaced the fan, but that shouldn’t happen with a $13,000 refrigerator. I was not happy with that at all. We chose Viking because when we bought this house, they had used Viking professionals. We just wanted to match it when I replaced the dishwasher and the refrigerator. They have a good brand name that’s supposed to be really good quality, but it isn’t. Im building a house in Malibu and I don’t think Ill get another Viking because of that experience.

Im having so many issues with Viking. I’m very mad about it and I have a huge regret right now. The repairman came last week to work on the large oven and the range because they quit working. In addition to that, it took them forever to get the parts in. And when I called them with an issue such as my $30,000 appliances not working, they would act as if you’re bothering them and the customer service is rude. I’ve also had a repairman at my house to work on my Viking refrigerator four times.

We just got a new home here in Denver and they came with Viking appliances. I like the use of the gas range and the fact that I’ve got not only the four burners but the central burner too which is used for keeping things warm. We’re just beginning to use the stove a few times, and the refrigerator is in constant use. I had a bit concern though because we weren’t getting any ice. The problem was, it wasn’t hooked up properly. I had a representative come out here and turn it on and make sure it was hooked up properly. Otherwise, everything’s fine.

I have always dreamed of having Viking appliances. I moved into a new house and my wish came true, Viking refrigerator, Viking double ovens, Viking 6 burner gas stove and Viking warming drawer. This came with a hefty price tag but I was over the moon. A few issues with the appliance company, that was a little over 5 yrs ago. Then May 2014, out of warranty we were told by Viking and had to replace the motherboard in both ovens!!! To the tune of over $500. Viking had issues with this problem so extended warranty slightly on newer ovens, so they were aware of problems in past ovens. Fast forward 2 yrs and both ovens are down again. Big pop and smoke. Both ovens again. I have left messages with Viking. No response as of yet.

We did some research on the appliances before we had our house built. There were Viking appliances at the stores then I ordered and read their book. I thought the quality was good. My granddaughters school had Viking appliances. I talked with the people that run the facility there and asked them what they thought of the Viking and how it worked. They convinced me that it was definitely worth it.All of my kitchen appliances are Viking and I wanted to register for all of the warranties. I went to the Viking website and it would not allow me to do that. Then I was having an issue with the dishwasher, and I couldn’t find in the book to correct it. I ended up having to call the repair personnel to get out of the mode as it went into an error code. I had to schedule an appointment and then it took a couple of weeks for them to get here. I also asked the gentleman to help me register the appliances for warranty and he did that. I gave him the information and he was very helpful. For the money that I spent on this kitchen, I expected a concierge service. But Im pretty much pleased with it. Its pretty good and right now, it seems to fit my needs. I like the way the doors are softly closed in the refrigerator. Its good and its a little larger than the standard size. I also like the ice dispenser. I would like the water dispenser but then that would be an additional cost. Overall, Im well satisfied and I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

Bought Viking double oven, cooktop and dishwasher March, 2018. After opening the items, the oven and the dishwasher were damaged. They were heavily damaged with dents so deep that there were holes. After weeks of complaints, numerous talk with customer service rep, I am still nowhere. About a month ago, I was finally granted a replacement for both of them. (Even though the entire time, so, the last 4 months I was told that the parts are arriving). Now, today, Sept, 5, I decided to call and make an official complaint against Viking dept handling my case. A person called TONY, said he could help. After he realized that I want to file a complaint, he started avoiding the issue. I asked for a supervisor and these were his answers: none is available, they are all in a meeting. I could hear laughter in the background. He started mocking me as well. I asked for an email of any supervisor and he said that he is not authorized to give out their emails!!! I still cannot believe the disrespect shown towards a customer. Complete lack of professionalism as well. If I had known that this is going to happen, I would have never bought Viking. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING VIKING RANGE.

I have discovered online that countless people have had this same thing happen with this same model. Our local repair person told me its the compressor and other sealed parts, so I had to go directly to Viking. The Viking authorized repair shop cant come out until Oct. 28!Like others in reviews Ive read with the same problem, we are camping in our own home with camp coolers and daily runs for ice. If the repair person cant fix it on the visit tomorrow, Im contacting Viking again to request they buy back this lemon, which I had to do with our Viking stove a year ago, after the oven failed three times, two of those on successive Thanksgiving Eves -- not the holiday tradition I want. I finally insisted, on the third failure, that they buy the stove back at full price, which they grudgingly did after many, many phone calls. Now I have a Wolf range and couldnt be happier. I will never recommend Viking to anyone -- in fact, I actively tell people not to buy Viking. (I do want to say that the people at the authorized repair shop couldnt have been nicer about the Viking stove each time they had to come out.)

I read the review from C of Cleveland, OH Nov. 21, 2019 and decided to provide my own feedback. We installed a Viking Double Oven over 10 years ago and it stopped working correctly after 3 or 4 years. We havent been able to use the lower oven for over 3 or 4 years. It keeps giving a cooling error, then stops working. The Birmingham Viking certified service people have replaced several parts including the control panel. Now Viking is trying to say that it was installed incorrectly which is total baloney! Just an excuse from Viking to get rid of us. We made SURE the contractor and cabinet builder followed the specs when it was installed and the installation was approved by the Viking Dealer. So this $6,500 unit can’t be repaired? Spend a third of the price and get the same quality with another cheaper brand!

So, we called the person and complained about it. Then, they sent out someone to fix it and it was fixed yesterday. Also, the LED light was not working on one of the double French ovens for some reason but the oven was working. The guy who did he fix said he would submit another ticket for us to order the part then they will come to fix it. Other than that, the quality of my Viking is good. Perhaps like many others that purchase Viking appliances, my wife and I were enamored with the design, size and look of the Viking refrigerator. We spent close to $20,000 and purchased a 36 refrigerator with a separate 30 freezer to go beside it. Looking at our kitchen you see nearly five feet of fridge/freezer. It looks amazing. Stupidly, this was the reason we bought the brand. My neighbor has a similar set-up and he told us over and over again not to invest in Viking. He swore it would be a mistake. My attitude was it wont happen to us. Was I wrong.Within one year, back in 2018 (pre-Covid; so no excuses yet about shipping issues/health issues/work shortage issues), the refrigerator stopped working altogether. Everything inside was ruined. The refrigerator was hot. It would not cool anything. I called Viking and it took 3 days to get a repairman to our home. Three days of no food. Then of course the part had to ordered. This took another 2 weeks. The part arrived and within another week it was installed. One month of no working refrigerator. I asked for a loaner... nope. I asked for a replacement... nope. I asked for a food stipend... nope. I asked to reimbursed for the ruined food... nope. After the month delay, it was noted that the refrigerator was beyond repair and needed to be replaced. This took another month for the new refrigerator to arrive. A $12,500 refrigerator that we could not use for two months. Now check this out; within a month or two of the new refrigerator being installed, my 7 year old son opened the fridge to get something. He pulled the door and as he pulled his foot was in the way and the door punctured his foot. He required 7 stitches. Our family wrote it off as the craziest accident ever. But... within another month or so, the door was not closing properly. This was a brand new refrigerator and the door would not close right. The magnet would not catch and the door was essentially always open. Viking sent a repair guy. He could not figure it out. He kept stating that the hinges were unlike anything he had seen. Then it dawned on him, the door was installed upside down. He had to take it off, flip hinges and reinstall. What??? Upside down? How is that possible? I then realized that this is probably the reason why my son punctured his foot. It was too low.Six months after replacing the refrigerator, the freezer stopped working. Everything melted. The compressor (?) was shot and it was replaced. For the continuing hassle, Viking extended our warranty an additional year. We now had 3 years of warranty. Within the three years, we have had to replace the ice-maker at least 5 times. Every 4 months it develops a leak and water drips into the ice bucket. Soon the ice bucket has an inch or so of water at the bottom and the entire ice bucket turns in to a solid block of ice. They send a repair guy and he replaces it. This has happened five times. It is broken again now. Unfortunately we are now out of warranty. I argue that the problem began while we were under warranty. This apparently does not matter. Viking wants to charge me $150 for the part and $150 to install it. Again a $7,500 freezer with an ice-maker that does not work. Dumb.Today, the produce tray in the refrigerator broke. Looks like a plastic piece fell off and the side by side drawers came off. This overpriced appliance is an absolute joke. Like my neighbor did with me, I tell all people that compliment our gorgeous appliances to NEVER buy the Viking brand. I warn everybody that I cannot to make the same mistake we did. Viking sucks.

I knew of Viking 30 years ago. I live near the North Shore which is a pretty area and Viking was all they had in their houses. Thats what they got and that’s what I wanted. It was either Viking or Wolf stoves we were looking at. Wolf only had built-in refrigerators but when we designed our kitchen, we didnt do a built-in area for the refrigerators. Viking had the range, the microwave, and the refrigerator so we went with them. We used Grand Appliances in Libertyville and they were phenomenal. I was a pretty savvy consumer so I went about and did my research before I went in. We had a saleswoman who was fantastic too.We like the Viking range. It works and I like the blue light. The only thing we dont like about it is it doesnt have a timer on there, like a digital display. It has the knob on it that tells the temperature, though. When Im cooking something in the oven, I have to set the timer. Other than that, every appliance in our kitchen is all Viking. We bought a Viking microwave, so we set the timer on that. Our dishwasher is Viking too. When we had one little problem with our refrigerator, they came out to fix it. Now, its making a knocking noise but hopefully, it will go away before we call back. We purchased a home with Viking appliances and in about four months that weve been here, the products were okay but I would not recommend them. The refrigerator is noisy, with a lot of clicking noises. We think it’s associated with the filtration system and when it makes ice. My brother does kitchen remodels and installs appliances and I used to install Viking Ranges with him. As Ive seen those ranges coming out of the boxes and see them perform I said to myself that when I do my own kitchen Im going to get one. Ive installed some of the KitchenAid ones and I always went back to the quality of Viking. Our dealer held our oven for us until it was ready for delivery for almost three weeks which I was appreciative of. The installation was done by Jose and it went smoothly. He advised us where we had to put the level of the gas line for that particular model. I like the condensing fan in the oven when I’m baking at two different levels. It rotates the heat. Another thing is the burners are strong at high and I can adjust it to where I need it to be. There was a manufacturer defect though. On the bottom part of the oven there was a scratch all the way to the rear. I didnt notice it until I was cleaning it about three months later which is over the warranty period already. But this defect is more aesthetic than performance and the oven is still running great. My wife who doesn’t know anything about a Viking Range is totally convinced that we made the right choice. She was leery about $3900 for a range but now when she uses it she can see the difference in the way it cooks versus regular stoves. Id recommend Viking to a friend anytime.

We liked the Viking brand name and the look of their products. So, we redid our whole kitchen with all Viking and got their products through a dealer. Our Viking range is good and powerful but it is so much stronger than what I was used to, so I burned a pot early on. That has been a learning curve for me and I dont know if that’s in the materials because it’s sort of overwhelming when you get all new appliances and unpack from a renovation. That might be my fault but that could be somehow highlighted for other people. Also, there was a problem with the ranges starter from the beginning so I had to have that repaired. One of the grate panels rusted, too and it was replaced. But the black on the replacement is a little different though and it doesn’t match the others if you look at it. Plus, a little piece fell off of one of the grates and I still have to glue it. I paid for it and Viking was supposed to send us two pieces of that but they sent only one. I also find it difficult to clean or get stuff off the stove top, although I try to not worry about it as much. That has been a bit of a learning curve as well. We have the Viking range for a little over two years so far and I don’t think that these problems should have happened. That is not what I would expect.

It almost looks like it’s a little open on the side but they said that all the Viking Ranges are like that. There was also a problem with one of the gas jets when we first got it. There was a loose connection inside. They sent a repair guy down and took the whole stove apart. We tightened every connection in it. He was there for three or four hours and I haven’t had problems since. My experience with Vikings is great and I would recommend the Viking range.

My husband wanted to go with Viking. When we were at a store, they were trying to persuade us not to. They kept telling us that the Viking refrigerator tend to fail quite often and a lot of their customers actually had problems with it once it goes out of warranty, and so they have to pay out of pocket to get it fixed. So, we were persuaded not to get it but my husband was determined to get it because we bought extended warranty. We like our refrigerator. We dont have any problems with it overall. We have the one side freezer, and one side fridge. We like it. Its big. I like the icemaker. Its convenient because its so wide. I wish theres more space, but overall, it functions fine. So far, were satisfied.

We bought a house and it already had a Viking range and some other Viking appliances. I had an opportunity to use the old range, and I liked it. It was a good range but it was like 20 years old and essentially needed to be replaced. So I went with Viking because I had an opportunity to use it and the price also played a role a bit when compared to Wolf, and then the features. I had issues with the oven not working. I bought the range through Best Buy and they had to bring two service people out to get it fixed. Ive been a little disappointed that I did have issues with the oven not working and a couple other things but, overall, its a good range.
