I got my Viking package at Best Buy when they had a Buy three things and get one for free promo. I got an oven, a cooktop, refrigerator and a dishwasher. The French-Door oven is the best Ive ever had. Its unbeatable and the ease of use is incredible. The stove top and the refrigerator are also fabulous. The refrigeration is perfect. Im very picky about ice makers but the one I have is great. It makes sufficient amount of ice and the ice is hard and lasts forever. But I cant stand the dishwasher and I want to upgrade it. Its a piece of garbage and I cant believe Viking would even put their name on it. Its been a huge disappointment, phasing me out of plastic. I called an issue on the dishwasher and the reps were very helpful. Apart from that, the refrigerator, the oven and the cooktop are great and I love them.

Growing up, Ive always known Viking has great appliances. They’re the best and I liked the look and the quality of their appliances. All my appliances in my kitchen now are Viking and theyre beautiful. They look classy or expensive. The Viking team has been wonderful as well. They sent me replacement parts and had somebody out to fix the refrigerator, no questions asked. The refrigerator didn’t work but it does now, so that’s good. The repair guy was fantastic too. They have been better than I could have imagined or hoped for and I would always recommend them. I would never not get a Viking product again.

Our house was under construction for two months so I didnt get to use it for two months after it was delivered. When I first used it, the switch was not working and did not light up the fire. I still have to call in to Viking for repair. But the exterior of the range looks great and the quality has been good so far.

Being in real estate, I’ve sold a few homes and looked at a lot of upper end homes and most of the nicer homes have the Viking appliances in them and that always piqued our interest. Ive also done a couple of build-outs where Ive used the Thermador and Viking and I tend to lean more towards Viking. I liked the performance of Viking. My wife is quite a good cook and she has an oven also from Viking. It performs really well and she’s happy with it.We like the style of the Viking Refrigerator. We also like the size of the pullout freezer and the adjustability of the shelves is another nice feature. We purchased through Pacific Sales and they were very knowledgeable on all the products. I financed the refrigerator because it was a 0% for 18 months. I ended up buying all four Viking products individually because they all matched. Im very impressed with the overall service. We’ve had a couple of needs for the appliance repair team to come out. They were very knowledgeable on the repair, were good communicators and took care of the problem. I’m very happy with all the units, the service and the sales team. I’d recommend Vikings.

I liked the Viking brand and since my friends had their products, I purchased a Viking refrigerator. They were slow to deliver and it took a while to get everything moving. I like the French doors and the freezer on the bottom of my refrigerator. But my ice maker went out already so I’m a little skeptical about its quality. I have their stove-top as well and the metal piece has discolored on one of them. When I had the service man here, I asked him about it and he said sometimes that’ll happen to those black pieces in the middle of the stove, so I was disappointed by that too.

Viking customer service, should be called customer LACK OF SERVICE. 30-40 minute hold times on phone, lack of knowledge of product parts. Viking has discontinued the part for an 8 year old dishwasher, and only resolve is to charge you for a new appliance, with less discount than I can get at big box store and a charge for installation. Do not use Chesterfield Appliance for Viking repairs. Overpriced and not knowledgeable about product.

The Viking hood that goes with the Viking range could not be installed in my house because I do not have 10-foot ceilings. We had to purchase a non-Viking hood to match the range. We did need to call in a repairman because the ovens werent lighting nor were they maintaining the heat and the interior lights werent coming on. He said that they were not plugged in on the interior. We had been using it for a year and exactly a year later, without moving the oven or anything else, it became unplugged from the inside. But because it was still under warranty, we had it serviced very quickly. The quality has been superb.

The range that I got from Viking is not very different from the one I had that was 20 years old. It had fewer features though. I used to have a separate grill and a separate griddle. They consolidated them into one area with a pan that flips over and its not quite the same. But the burners are nicer and it’s easier to clean. The top of the stove looks great and the lights are a nice accent. But after that, I had problems. Ive had to call repair services out here three times, so far. They eventually got them fixed. But its strange. I buy a $500 stove that lasted me 10 years and I had no problems. I buy a $15,000 range and within two or three months of owning it, I have to call to get repairs made. It was not what I was expecting. I regret, a little bit, buying the range. I was banking on the American made name and Viking has a long history, but Middleby has purchased them, seeing there have been some changes in quality and how it was working. And the new range manifested this very same issue as the 20-year-old one I replaced started to have towards the end of its lifecycle. So that was unfortunate. Probably, had I done it again, I would have bought a Wolf or some other range instead.

I heard good things about Viking Ranges. Their price was reasonable, too, so I bought one. I live in San Luis Obispo County and I couldn’t get it delivered to my home. So I had to pick it up myself. I have it for less than a month now and so far, the quality is good. I had another stove that had every bells and whistles on it and everything was breaking on that. I like the fact that my Viking doesn’t have a lot of bells and whistles. I spent that kind of money on a stove and I didn’t want things to be breaking all the time.

I purchased a Viking refrigerator in 2006 and have had nothing but problems. Weve had thousands of dollars of repairs including replacement for several plastic pieces for over $750. In 30 years, Ive never replaced an interior part on a refrigerator. Viking said the interior pieces are only under warranty for 30 days. Relays have been replaced, the motherboard, and in October the compressor died and was still under warranty. The part was promised by Hadco and then rescinded. It took well over 3 months for the part to come into the dealer. Meanwhile, I had to buy a new refrigerator. I was supposed to go through Thanksgiving and Christmas without a working refrigerator. After the part was finally sent, they sent a customer satisfaction survey. Why they bother, I do not know. They have the worst product and service I have ever encountered. I will never buy another Viking product. Ive shared my experience with everyone I can to spare them my inconveniences.

Im seriously disappointed in Viking. Redid my whole kitchen and got a good deal to get all Viking appliances. The fridge drawers dont stay closed. Yes we leveled it. But the worst is our stove top. The induction range stopped working three times in the first year. Had both sides replaced. Then a month after my warranty was up the second side let go again. Customer service then wanted us to pay to have a repair man to come and say it was not working. That was done and we got a 1200$ plus time estimate to fix it. Customer service was not helpful and for some reason we can not submit a complaint on the website. I now have 2 plug in induction stove tops from Canadian tire sitting on my 4000$ range that have worked well for 3 years. Dont know what to do with my range now. The only upside is the oven. That works very well.

I got a Viking range, dishwasher and a smaller baking oven. The dealer was knowledgeable and my experience in dealing with him was good. The range has a griddle in the middle which is a high polished stainless look and I liked that. It is super easy to clean and it looks brand spanking new, spotless and shiny after I clean it. I also like how underneath where the burners are, its like a black enamel, so its easy to hide whenever its not so clean. Also, I like the quality of Viking a lot and so far, I’ve been happy with all the Viking products that I have.

I love to cook and I’ve always been impressed with the stuff from Viking. Ive always wanted a range from them. Some of the other brands dont meet my expectations. I got a Viking range lately and Ive had a bit of an issue with the burners. I’m out in the boonies so it’s on propane. But then, I don’t think the burners on the range burn evenly as I can get a higher flame on one side. Nevertheless, I love the six burners and the way the range looks. Its a convection oven also and overall its been performing well.

We had dinner with my sister and brother-in-law who have a Viking range. I got to cook on the range and I liked it. We saw an ad for the closeout on the stove at a local appliance dealer. We got the last Viking appliance that they had there. The range was sold to me at $1000 on the list. It’s a great cooking appliance and I love the heat control on it.

I sent in a big complaint to Viking and I’m getting very poor service. I
I sent in a big complaint to Viking and I’m getting very poor service. I spent $25,000 on a new suite of Viking and had it installed by a professional and several things went wrong. The first thing, I had a 700 series range top and the Downdraft. When we got them, there was a gap between the back of the Downdraft and the back of the range top so I called my retailer Appliance Works and they were excellent in everything we did. I said, “Isn’t there a trim or something like that?” He goes, ”Well, let me call my district sales manager.” He did that and then he said, “Oh, yeah. You need a trim piece.” So we got an installer here which I paid money for. I had to wait a week and a half and I had to pay for it to have that trim sent to me. We got the back trim and the installer started to install it. Then it stuck out an inch longer than the sides of the range top. I said, “This doesn’t look right.” So I called them back and he called back the district sales manager and the district sales manager said, “Oh, yeah. There’s side trim that goes with that. I had the installer come back again so I paid more money for an installer every time the man showed up. Then I got the side trim and he fixed it. We had to cut it off because of the of the configuration. Ive incurred another $300 to bring the installers back to do the trimming. It was not an easy task to install these range tops and all of these, especially the Downdraft, and the instructions were very vague. We’ve finished a brand-new renovation so then we hooked up the dishwasher and it didn’t work. There was an “error code 02” flashing. Nowhere in any of the brochures or online does it say what the hell error code 02 means. E02. The system was giving me a code of something wrong and there was no way to determine what that error was. So I called my retail manager back again and they said, “Oh yeah. E02 means there’s a lack of water supply. I said, “Lack of water supply? That doesn’t make sense.” I had to call the installer back again and it had been twice because they were trying to figure out what was going on and they weren’t sure what it would look like. It was starting to work then it would shut off and the error code was last. He took the front panel off and the darn hose that drives the water to the washer that was installed by the manufacturer was bent. It’s a reinforced hose with metal in it and the purpose of the metal is so that it doesn’t bend easily. However, when it does bend, then it’s a permanent kink and it restricts the water to flow. What had happened was the hose was too long and somebody forced it into the receptacle that you have to hook to when you install the water. The hose was bent therefore there was a lack of water supply. We had to cut that off, installed it, and the dishwasher works fine now. Then, I got a service call in on another issue. When I was checking the washer out, a lot of times I’d press the P and nothing would happen and the codes wouldn’t work. It wouldn’t come up and give me an option whether I wanted it on quick wash or extra duty wash or cleaning. So I called the customer service and said all of these to the Viking customer service. Another issue was that he referred it to the people here in Salisbury as a service center. I don’t want to work with these people because I gave them the option of buying Viking through them. They were charging me $3,000 more and charging me for every nut and bolt they thought they would need to install it so I went elsewhere. So I called back my retailer and he said he’ll put another service order and I have yet to hear about that warranty schedule being done. Third issue, I went to register these stuff and everything worked fine. But I tried to register the dishwasher and it said, “Well, you can’t register. Your numbers are invalid.” So I called Viking and the lady was nice and she went, “Oh, you have to add a 1 to your model number in order to register.” I said, “Really. That’s nice to know. Can you do that for me?” She said, “Yes. But if I register it, you can’t see it on your account.” The whole purpose of registering this stuff is that if you have warranty work, people can go look and see what’s going on, that it’s a bona fide, the date of sale, and all that other stuff. But if you register it over the phone, then it’s not on my account and unless you ask for it specifically through customer service, you can’t verify that this system was purchased through Viking on a certain date. I went back and registered with adding the 1 so there’s a glitch in the IT system there. Then I tried to register my Downdraft and I can’t do it even though it’s covered on their site. I called back Viking service and they said, “That’s right. We can register the Downdraft on the system. You can’t. But we can register it for you.” And I said, “Yeah. Let me ask you this. If you register it for me, I’ll bet you I can’t see it on my account. Is that correct?” They replied, “Yup. That’s right.” I sent all of these to Viking customer service and sent a long letter that went over each of those things and all the details. After three weeks, I had heard nothing. Two days after I had sent the initial e-mail, I sent a note back to customer service, “Can you at least acknowledge receipt of my e-mail about these problems?” They replied, “Yup. We got it. Upper-level management is looking at it and will get back to you.” After about two and a half weeks, I called back and the first lady I talked to said, “I’ll look into it and I’ll call you back.” She never called me back after two days so I called again and I got a hold of a young man who was very helpful to a point. Within that day, he provided information back and said it’s been passed to the district sales manager for action. I said, “Well, I didn’t ask for reimbursement but I did tell you that I had spent over $500 in additional charges to have this stuff installed and fixed. Because of these issues, I’m still waiting for warranty work and not to mention your other problems with IT, so I’d really like a response from you all.” The only response that I’ve received to date is that they’ve passed the information on to the district sales manager who has had this action for three weeks and I haven’t heard a thing from her. The retailer which is up in Easton, Maryland, said they have continual problems with this district sales manager. She never returns the calls. She’s had the action when the second trim kit was ordered back to the stove again. He passed her the action and said, “Look. You need to do something with this customer.” I had never heard anything from her about reimbursing me for the money Ive already spent to pay for the trim kit or doing something to acknowledge the fact that I had had serious problems with this $25,000 set and I haven’t even used it yet. I don’t know what the status is but this district sales manager is not helping Viking image whatsoever.

We bought a Viking refrigerator in 2005 and since then we had nothing but problems with it. It started with leaking water and damaging our floors and continued with changing 3 ice-makers in it which we still have problems with. The water dispenser freezes frequently and recently the door hinge is getting loose, not closing properly. We are afraid of injuries in case it comes off (as it has happened to other owners) and what makes it worse is the companys rude and nasty attitude when contacted. I would never buy another Viking appliance and hope there was something I could do to be remedied for all the hardship that me and my family have endured. If anyone has a lawsuit against them I will be glad to join.

I find the Viking refrigerator a steal of a deal. The quality of the refrigerator I received is good. I like its overall look, its aesthetics. The product was still under warranty and I tried to have it serviced because I was having an issue with it. It kept freezing up and then it would have to be defrosted. Viking Refrigerator is a higher end product. It’s a good appliance. There was a slight beneficial discount for the Viking at the time we purchased it even though it was more money than some other appliances. I haven’t had a problem with it other than a drawer breaking, and they sent us a replacement. I called Viking and they said to make sure the appliances are registered. So, they registered, and once they were registered, they were gonna send somebody out. I couldn’t believe they were gonna do that. When they realized it was just a drawer, they just sent the drawer. The process was easy. I like all the features of the refrigerator. One feature is kinda interesting. They made it so you can put a full-sized pizza on the bottom of it, which is pretty cool because you always have a problem with the box of the pizza. Also, the dealer, Pacific Appliances at Best Buy was great.

I have some problems with the Viking Refrigerator that we got. The unit functions well, but I have problems in the way it is laid out. It seemed very stripped down. The crisper drawer is not divided, it is just one big drawer that is supposed to hold both fruit and vegetables. That was surprising. Fruits and vegetables require different temperatures and different humidities. There wasn’t any delicatessen or cheese drawer too. The fridge is also very high so that the taller shelves were not accessible. I called Viking to find out how I could better accessorize the refrigerator, and there didnt seem to be any answer to that and apparently, for this model, there are no Viking accessories available.

I like to cook and I wanted a gas range. Initially, I looked at the Wolf one which was a very nice range but the Viking range was less expensive. Plus, my best friend Jody has a Viking range and she likes hers so that was good. It fit in my space as well so it was economical and it was still an upper-end range. Its been installed for about two months but Ive only used it three times now for various reasons. It takes a very long time to heat up to temperature so that I can start cooking. And the other day, I was cooking and I was wondering whether it runs or goes off when it is at temperature. I still cant figure it out and I have to get used to it so its not confusing. However, the installation was dicey from the beginning and that was frustrating to me. I was under the impression he was a Viking installer who knew how to install Viking products, but he wasn’t and it was a nightmare. I also got the convection microwave hood and the installer separated the bottom of the microwave to shove the deflector between the bottom plate and the microwave. The deflector and screw were falling off of my microwave. It was leveled left to right but it wasnt leveled front to back and it was tilting so far forward that things were rolling out of the microwave. I asked him if he can put something behind it to support the whole thing. He got sassy and said that it’s an older house and that happens.I called Viking about it and talked to five different people. The first gentleman was so kind and said he was sorry. The first young lady I got after him was also really great. Then I got to talk to the next rep when it came to having to arrange having to arrange to have somebody to come out, I was told that I could pay somebody to come out and look at it because they dont do installations. They also said that they don’t train people to do the installations and that the instructions are online. So I should look online to see how to install my Viking range and microwave myself and tell the installers how to install it? I dont think so. Theyre not even typical stick it in and plug it in products. It didnt make sense to me that they’re all behind quality and made in America but they don’t train people to install their products. And when they’re not installed properly, its not covered by warranty. If they dont train their people to install their products then they dont have to be responsible for the warranty. Its bad business. Also, when I asked them to give me a name of anybody who can install the appliances, they told me that they can’t recommend anybody. The only thing that Viking would cover was if something was wrong with the products under warranty. So Viking has repair people but they can’t recommend anybody to do the installations. Its a stupid system.I went around and around with these people and I was very upset and distressed. In fact, I told them that Im an unhappy customer with nearly $18,000 worth of appliances sitting here that I cant use because Viking doesnt care that they’re in working order so I can enjoy them. Then, they said they could send somebody out and but it’s $100 an hour and since I dont live near any place where they keep anybody, I have to pay a trip charge. But it already cost me $430 to get the products installed and they weren’t installed properly. I was also told to call Best Buy instead because that’s where I bought the appliances and theyre the ones who are going to care if the products are installed since its their reputation. I never received a letter from Viking and I would have also appreciated if somebody would call me instead of me leaving voicemails for people to call me back. So I have this beautiful convection microwave and this Viking range that I have to wait four weeks for somebody to come out and look at them. Im not impressed with Viking’s service and I’m extremely dissatisfied with my experience. I’m also very unhappy with the way I was treated and the attitude of their reps. Then, now that the range is under a year, Viking came and took a look at it, only to find out that the knobs are not even on the right place on the stove. Thats why it still was not working. I’m done with Viking and I would not recommend them to anybody.

I purchased a Viking 30 electric cooktop Model RVEC3305BSB. It was installed and after they left, I turn on the stove to cook. One of the lights remained ON indicating that the heating element is HOT when the stove is not even on (the light stayed on since then, and it still on). I called Viking and they send someone to fix the issue. The guy said they had to order the part and it was going to take a week. His words hopefully thats the issue, if its not then Viking will switch it for another one. I called to get the status and this time they said 10 days! I called Viking to complain and they said it was expedited to a week. It is not what I expected from a brand like Viking. I bought a new appliance, and yet it has to be fixed, why not replace it with one that has no issues and save us all the inconvenience of all these calls and following up? I am frustrated and disappointed with how this was handle.

Its just a fridge, and frankly a poorly designed product, that for some reason costs an order of magnitude more than others. My Viking is 19 years old but the first failures started in the first year. Shelf units and other plastic parts crack and break and the price of replacement is half the cost of a brand new fridge of another brand ($600 for a plastic drawer cover! - be warned!). Im about to haul my $15,000 fridge to the dump because the back is rusting out, it leaks water onto the floor whenever it defrosts, and the control panel no longer responds to key presses. Ive taken my fridge apart. Im a former VP of Engineering for a few product development companies and in my opinion there is nothing in this fridge to justify the price. Its just a fridge. Cheap electronics, poor mechanical design, and for some reason this company is able to charge a huge premium for their product and extortionist prices for replacement parts. Save your money! Buy something else!

Viking, you SUCK. 3+ months with a $3,000+ fridge that was delivered broken and all the local warranty reps you outsource to are saying is Viking switched its distributor two times so you will have to wait longer? How about some lemon laws here. I called Viking directly and the brain dead receptionists can not get me to the right person. Why? Because they cant fathom why someone with a California phone number lives in Texas. Gee, if you want to be elite Viking, you might want to consider that your customers have multiple homes in other areas. I regret buying a Viking Dishwasher (POS does not even have heated dry), Viking Range (delivered broken), Viking Microwave (over priced Kitchen Aid) and Viking D3 Fridge (Broken on Delivery). I have yet to get a customer service rep to call me back. No one is empowered to make a decision. I will be buying Wolf/SubZero next time.

The Vikings Range was already in my fourth house when I bought it in September 2015. The range, including the oven, gets hot super super fast and that concerns me because it cooks food so fast. When I scramble eggs, the estimated time is half of what it would normally take. Im concerned about burning and fires so I have to watch it. Its almost short of a microwave, and because of that it creates potential danger.

My husband did some research on the ranges and he said that Viking was rated high. We had a wonderful experience with their dealer, and we got a refrigerator, a microwave, a dishwasher and the hood and the oven. The appliances are of good quality, but weve had a couple of issues with the microwave door as well as the hinges on the oven, which we had to have replaced and has already been handled.

I had a bit of a challenge with the customer service. I bought the range online and when it was delivered, they dropped the dishwasher that came with the range off the back of the truck. It took some convincing to have that replaced. But theyre really communicative and the guy whos come out a couple of times is really nice and very quick. As for the range itself, I appreciate how quickly the eyes on the top get hot. It took some getting used to not having an indicator that the oven was preheated. But one of the hinges was messed up and it looks like its gonna mess up again. Im not satisfied with that.

We love our Viking range and I use it every day. I like the open range design element of it. It’s a little bit harder to clean, but it’s better for the temperature control, which I think is why it’s used professionally by professional chefs. It was a personal recommendation from a family member who had one as well, and we purchased it through a local affiliate of a Best Buy. It’s been great. I have had no problems with it, and it’s probably the best stove that we’ve ever had.

I had a Sub-Zero for 23 years and it broke. I always knew about the Viking Ranges but never knew about the refrigeration. When I went to replace it, I had to get something with the same size so I decided to go with the Viking this time instead of Sub-Zero. Viking had everything that I liked about the Sub-Zero. I liked the freezer on the bottom, the drawers, the style, stainless steel, and the three-year warranty. I liked the look of it and it fits perfectly. I like everything about the lighting inside, too. Its awesome. I’ve only had it for a few weeks, but so far everything’s good. My refrigerator didnt come with a kickplate and I am still waiting for it. I’m hoping that it will come soon. It’s been a few weeks and everythings been fine. Just started cooking in brand new oven. The smaller left side oven just made a loud sound and is now not functioning. The right side oven door hinge came off when opening the door and nearly slammed on my foot. I was barely able to lift the door to get it in place. I inherited the Viking Range on the house that we bought. Its great and the convection feature in the oven is nice, except that it does some weird things. The electronic igniters sometimes will just keep clicking even after the burner is lit. The technician said it happens when its wet or when its more humid. Ive never ever had that happen before and with Viking being top-of-the-line, I would not expect that. Still, Viking is durable and it looks nice too.

New home with all stainless Viking appliances. Microwave great. Electric range, dont like the electric but good product. Refrigerator model RWFVRF1 with interior water system. This appliance has leaked since day 1. The water pooled in the bottom shelf of lower freezer section, iced up, and leak out onto floor often. Had appliance center come and put new drain tube in, which resolved this issue. The ice maker never made but a few cubes, and leaked within unit. The ice maker stopped working and now another $180 for repair. Now that we have ice, we have bigger leak problem onto floating wood floor, which now swelled and needs $1,600 repair. Really looking into replacing the fridge, but may need another Viking to match other appliances. UGH. Viking has been awful as to responding, nothing after trying to contact up to 28 times. They always refer you to appliance centers to fix - $$$ and still leaking. Maybe this is a fluke and the product is good, but not sure how to move forward here.

The dishwasher I would never purchase again. It is very noisy when its washing. But what really bugs me is the control panel. You cant save any thing like your favor wash cycles. Every time you use it you have to turn it on and press the P button till you get the wash cycle you want then press an F cycle for drying which is like a double switch so Im never sure if I got the right one or not. Viking Refrigeration is supposedly one of the best brands in the market and my wife likes them better than the others. I’m a hundred percent satisfied with the quality. We had issues that I didn’t expect because of the price of my refrigerator but I’m not gonna say it’s a bad or terrible refrigerator and they replaced it so I cannot complain at this point, although this is mostly what I feel should not happen. Our Viking refrigerator is huge and the freezer is on the left side while the refrigerator is on the right. My wife, three adult daughters, and I are very careful at home and don’t beat up our kitchen appliances. But the drawers are breaking apart and the shelves and door shelves were disintegrating which is really weird and that I would not expect from a refrigerator with a price tag that Viking has. I assume they crack with the cold. I was very surprised and I really expected a little bit more. So I called the warranty and they sent me new ones.I had an issue with a microwave that Viking ended up fixing, though I wasn’t happy at all with the first company that came. Then I had another issue with a cooktop and the company that came to do the repair was very good. When I buy appliances with a price tag of Viking, I expect their life to be longer. The problems we had are not terrible and would not keep me from buying Viking again in the future, but I was disappointed that I had much more issues with the microwave and cooktop, that I did not expect with luxurious appliances such as Viking.

The BTU that Vikings have warmed up things a lot quicker. I would recommend Viking Ranges. The dealers that we went to were good, however, I don’t think they knew their equipment that much. We already knew what we wanted and I went with some questions like if we should go with a smaller or bigger and they couldnt answer it. They didn’t seem to be extremely sharp at it. Being empty nesters, and retired we rarely use your oven, except for when company comes. So even though it was past the warranty, plus we had a problem at the beginning with the settings of the range, we believe this range is a lemon. They say because we didnt have complaints earlier, its not. Customer service was horrible! Our oven stopped working during roasting our prime ribs, we had to ask neighbors to finish the prime rib and barbecue the other one; the hot dishes that were going to go into the oven after the prime rib was done had to go to other neighbors house. We would call customer service and ask them to return our call, but they never did. So we had to call over and over again. That meal was at Thanksgiving time and we still dont have it repaired yet, and they called saying the part hasnt come in so theyre canceling tomorrows appointment! Right during the holiday season when we like to do a lot of Christmas baking! So its ruining our Thanksgiving and Christmas! Thanks a lot Viking! Learn from us, and our experience: never buy a Viking!

We bought a Viking fridge and separate freezer in 2006 when we remodeled our home because they replaced SubZero products and fit into the spaces perfectly. We assumed when you pay for top end products, you get top end products. Instead, we have become used to the freezer leaking onto the floor and a sheet of ice on the bottom shelf. Meanwhile, our fridge has begun acting up and is unable to regulate its temperature. We have been getting up in the middle of the night every night to turn off the alarm and have been dealing with frozen fruit and slushy milk. We called a repairman out who told us the door hinge needs replacing and the door doesnt shut properly, so a couple of sensors now also need replacing. We are facing a $1300 bill for that alone, and also have to pay an installer to come out and re-level the fridge. Because we have a malfunctioning fridge and are trying to operate in a family home, this is an urgent repair for us. Today we found out the parts are backordered and it will be up to six weeks before they arrive. How is a family supposed to manage for six weeks without a properly functioning fridge???We were also told the water lines to the freezer are frozen up and we need to turn the freezer off for two days and defrost it. What exactly we are supposed to do with a freezer full of food during this process seems to be our problem. We read some of these reviews while trying to troubleshoot our own issues and hoped we would not end up adding a review to this site, but sadly, you can add us to the list of disgruntled Viking owners who are wondering exactly what they paid for when they bought top of the line appliances and ended up with an unreliable money pit instead. I will think long and hard before spending another penny on Viking products again.

I had a Viking range that lasted for 18 years, which was great. When we replaced all our appliances, we stayed with the whole Viking line, ‘cause we got a discount. They included the refrigerator if you bought the range. However, when they plugged the refrigerator that they installed, it didn’t work. It didn’t even come on. Then we got into a little argument with the guy and told him that they gotta take the refrigerator out if it doesn’t work because P.C. Richard, where we bought it, said that they should not leave it there. But they made good and they came back the next day with another refrigerator. At the same time, the range didn’t work either. I had gotten into a big argument with Viking headquarters and P.C. Richard that the range doesn’t work and they didn’t believe me so I had to wait a couple of days to get a Viking repair guy to confirm that it wasn’t working. Then, I had to wait four days for them to take the range out of my house and bring a new range. Also, theres a minor issue with the dishwasher. So, overall, the appliance purchase was a very bad experience because the guys were in my house installing everything half of the day and I gotta wait for them. We wasted five days on the whole process. Moreover, they have a Viking pots and pans set, which is $500, and I told them that they should send me a gift certificate for all the hassle that I just went through, but I never heard anything back. Lastly, the customer service reps at Viking knew everything that was going on but no one from them ever got back to me even though they told me I had to keep going to the retailer, and that was a nightmare because of the way P.C. Richard set up with inventory. Given my feelings with Viking, I have mixed emotions about recommending their products.

We did some research on the appliances before we had our house built. There were Viking appliances at the stores then I ordered and read their book. I thought the quality was good. My granddaughters school had Viking appliances. I talked with the people that run the facility there and asked them what they thought of the Viking and how it worked. They convinced me that it was definitely worth it.All of my kitchen appliances are Viking and I wanted to register for all of the warranties. I went to the Viking website and it would not allow me to do that. Then I was having an issue with the dishwasher, and I couldn’t find in the book to correct it. I ended up having to call the repair personnel to get out of the mode as it went into an error code. I had to schedule an appointment and then it took a couple of weeks for them to get here. I also asked the gentleman to help me register the appliances for warranty and he did that. I gave him the information and he was very helpful. For the money that I spent on this kitchen, I expected a concierge service. But Im pretty much pleased with it. Its pretty good and right now, it seems to fit my needs. I like the way the doors are softly closed in the refrigerator. Its good and its a little larger than the standard size. I also like the ice dispenser. My wife and I perceived the Viking refrigerator as high quality just by certification. We like the look of it as well as the configuration with the door freezer and double open top. We also wanted to get a matching set for we did a remodeling in our kitchen. So far, we really like it but theres one thing that kind of drives me crazy, and its in the minor side. On the freezer, when you open that the big drawer down below, it has an ice maker, and you pull it out. The way the ice is dumped it into the tray and it builds up, about every fourth time, it pushes the ice behind and comes on the floor. But if I open it slowly, reach back, and try to move the ice, it doesnt happen. But sometimes, I forget. The other thing that weve experienced, and I dont know that its the refrigerators fault, is that if our power goes out or trips, then the power comes back on again, the refrigerator doesnt automatically come back on. That could be bad and we initially had a problem when we first got the refrigerator. Aside from that, sometimes we spend a couple of weeks away from the house. Were trying to figure out if theres a way I could get a beeper on my panel or something that would tell me that the fridge is off. But I want it to just automatically cycle back on when the power comes back on.Also, I wish they can come up with something a little better and easier to remove than that plastic coating that they put on it to protect it during transportation. Its really a great idea to have that protective plastic but it is a royal pain to remove it for installations. Other than that, I feel like we got good value on the Viking refrigerator, so Im pretty happy.

When we remodeled the house two years ago, we put in all Viking appliances because they were cheaper. Then about a month ago, I got a new fridge from Viking as a warranty replacement. Im not happy about the replacement fridge because the one that I had before was better quality. The quality of the stainless steel of this new one is very marginal. Everything is on the stainless such as fingerprints. Viking also didnt give me options for a water dispenser. Furthermore, it was a very long process to get it replaced. I got the phone call in March and the fridge was eventually replaced in August. The refrigerator that came was damaged with shipping, so they took it out and had to put it all back again. I’ve heard of the Viking brand over the years and when I was redoing my kitchen I found them at Best Buy. I liked a few of the features and I was trying to buy a cheaper brand. But the main item I wanted was more of the double oven which has side doors like a baker’s oven. The oven was very nice however, I was a bit concerned about the cooktop because I can’t seem to find the right cook temperature. When you turn that on, you put it on really high and it heats up fast because it’s induction. I can’t seem to get used to it and I’m having a hard time getting used to the different burners. I either get stuff too hot or it doesn’t get hot enough. For what I spent for the whole kitchen, I’m not overwhelmed with all the quality. The refrigerator and the stove are very nice. The refrigerator doors open and close and keep the food cold. It’s very expensive though. But some of their other appliances are not up to par. The cook-tops should work better. I think it was a brand new design and with this induction, it’s a little tricky to use and it was very difficult to get service. I had to call up and they had to give me a company that would give me service. When I called, I was told that it will be a month and a half before they can come out. I called and tried another company and then I was able to arrange for them to come out a week and a half. Usually, with that kind of money, I should be able to get service in the same week, not two and three weeks for you to use outside service companies. That was a little disappointing. I would have expected better customer service. Furthermore, they offer rebates for buying certain things and I have to beg to get my rebates. With the amount of money I spent and with the company as big as Viking, I shouldn’t have to do that. It took weeks upon weeks and then they said I didn’t have the right serial number. They made me run through hoops and I had to wait and keep calling and finally, I got the money. We’re talking $1,400. All in all, I shouldn’t have a problem with the rebate nor getting serviced. I think the equipment set would be working a little bit better for the amount of the money I spent. I’m a little disappointed in the dishwasher but they told me that there’s not much they can do.

I am almost certain that my Viking Range was not installed properly. I have a video recording when its in convection mode and it sounds like an airplane taking off. Theres something thats not right and I have to figure that out. I don’t know if it’s a defect from Viking or if it was something that happened during the installation. Nevertheless, my initial impression of the cooktop is that its fabulous and it has really high output burners. I love the way the range looks too. Still, Viking Ranges are extremely expensive so the quality better match. This range was $9,000 and it doesnt even have a timing feature on it.The contact at Best Buy that helped us with the purchase was very good and very attentive. But the installation was a miserable experience. The people who came who had to be certified Viking installers didnt appear to have any special skills nor abilities. They were private contractors, not Best Buy employees. Now, I have to call in Best Buy to send someone to check the installation. Still, Best Buy did a good job representing Viking Ranges and was very knowledgeable about the products features and functions while I was purchasing.

We were looking for a new refrigerator and I looked online and found out that Viking was the leader in kitchen appliances but nobody seemed to really know anything about their refrigeration. Then we went to a couple of places here in town, I researched it on their website and we fell in love with their ref so, we ordered it. This is my first Viking appliance. I had heard of Viking in the restaurant business and people seemed to be impressed. The quality of the product is excellent. The space is perfect. For the size that it is, it holds a lot of food and were really happy. When we build the new house, Ill probably buy two Viking refrigerators. The only problem we had, and this seems to be not specific to Viking, were the people. We like trying the new things on the market but things that last, and so, we were very pleased with this purchase. But the salespeople werent prepared. Theres more of a market here in San Diego but their salespeople just werent ready to sell it. Either they were too busy or weren’t educated. When we find something that we want, we usually are more educated than the sales people and that seems to be the case with their people. Its something that could still be improved.

I already had a Viking oven so I wanted the appliances to match. I like the way the refrigerator looks and so far, the quality is good. The people I dealt with in sales didn’t have all the information I needed but they were fine. It was just because I had researched it and I knew a lot more about the fridge than they did. That aside, I would advise others to make sure their measurements are right when looking into Viking refrigerators.

We bought the freezer and refrigerator from Viking 12 years ago. The freezer is still doing great but the refrigerator went out. It would freeze up, and one of the default wires were loose. We hooked it up and then it had another problem. When I called in with problems, they were good about helping to get somebody to look at it. I had two different Viking certified people come out to work on it and they took it quickly apart, defrost it totally and then put it back together and say my drip pan wasnt lined up properly. Both times someone came it cost me $800 each and the second time I decided to just replace it because itll be cheaper in the long run. When I got the new one, the door seal on it would not seal. We travel a lot and we come back home and see that there would be rust inside our brand-new refrigerator. It took three times to get somebody to figure out the problem and fix it and had it slamming shut. Were loving it now. It’s great. The new lighting is so bright and pretty and I really like it. The fridge isnt pretty when you open it up and you see this $9,000 refrigerator with rust inside it, but its still a good deal.

Not going to go long. I will say that the dishwasher has never worked right. Leaks, fails to start, doesnt clean well and finally went up in smoke. This appliance is made by Bosch for Viking so dont go running to them thinking youre going to get an upgrade. Just terrible. The fridge? It leaks, its complicated and makes strange noises. Oh and the shelves just randomly break and are very expensive to fix. Customer service? They have none. The times I have actually gotten through to a person have been accidentally erased from their logs. I am so sorry I bought this stuff. What an incredible waste of money.

We purchased a free standing Viking Professional Range for our kitchen remodel. After a couple of years the griddle went on one night by itself and started a fire in our kitchen at 3am. Needless to say this was a harrowing experience. We had to have our entire kitchen and living room cleaned and repainted. The response from Viking was to send out a repair guy and change the control. Viking offered nothing for the cost of the fire damage and pushed back on helping out with even providing a new griddle cutting board.A couple of weeks ago the replacement switch went off by itself in the middle of the night again. Causing a second fire in our kitchen at 1:30am. We have contacted Viking and they offered to send out a repair company to replace the control again. We want this range removed from our home. This Viking Range is dangerous. There is a national recall on these. Look out for their expensive junk.Viking was bought by Middleby a few years ago. Since then the products are truly not worth it. They are cheaped out cost contained products at a high price. They put some stainless steel fronts with nice logos and call it professional. It is very poorly made unreliable sparkly stuff. Run from this place. Dont walk. Buy a Wolf or a Samsung not this junk....

In December of 2010, I had my kitchen remolded and bought an 8 burner, double oven Viking Pro range. When I owned a restaurant in the mid 80s we had a Viking range and I loved it. It cooked evenly and baked, roasted, broiled - fantastic. So Viking was naturally my choice. I paid around $12,000 for the range and $4,000 for the vent hood. The first year after it was installed, I did not use it much. My Mother became ill and I went to take care of her. When I started using it last year, it worked fine for a few months. Then in October of 2013, the oven started to cool down after an hour or so of cooking. Thank goodness I purchased a warranty for five years. The Viking certified repairman came out in November 3 times until a part was replaced that was recalled or so they said. The ovens and burners worked fine when the repairmen left. Two hours later, nothing worked - not even the burners which had no previous problems. Nothing would come on. Three more times repairmen come out. Finally in February, it was fixed until May when it started to do the same thing. The oven would not hold heat. Two more service trips and two months later, it was once again fixed. 10 days later after cooking and baking every day, the oven did not cook properly. My cheesecake and pies were not done in the middle and the bottom crusts were uncooked. A 3-lb chicken took 3 hours to roast and still was not hot enough to be safe to eat. A week later, the repair service is out again. Only this time he only puts his thermometer in the oven and after 30 min. says its holding temp. properly. Cant tell you how frustrated I am. I am not an amateur cook. I was a chef for 15 years and I used good ole recipes that have worked more than a thousand times in the correct time limits. Even after adding an additional hour to hour and a half baking time, pies and cakes were raw in the middle. Repair man doesnt understand it should be cooking properly. Hello, I showed him one of the pies I kept - nothing to say. Hate this oven by now. Cant understand, unless it cant work when used daily, for more than an hour. I will never buy a Viking range again. Bought my son a nice LG. Works beautifully - no problems at all.

It has been over a month now and mine hasnt been fixed. We had Viking replace the ice tray. They had to send the whole tray when it was just the round thing in the back. Its made of plastic and if the ice gets jammed, its knocked off. It should have been made of metal. Also, the board went out and it has been on backorder for a month.

Over the years I’ve always wanted to get a Viking range. We moved back to America about five years ago and I went to remodel the kitchen, and that’s when I purchased one. The look is very nice. There’s a couple of quirks on it ‘cause when it came, the knobs were all put in the wrong thing. I didn’t know what was going on when we turned the stove on. I couldn’t understand why we couldn’t turn it smoothly from one adjustment to the other. We came to find out that the back of these knobs were put on wrong. So when the service guy came out, he looked at it and changed the knobs. As far as working with the Viking people, they’ve been very good and the service is top-notch.One of the things Ive noticed is its difficult to see the numbering on the Viking oven on what you want to set it to since its chrome and it is very shiny. When we turn the oven on to 350, we can’t tell when the light goes on or off when it becomes 350. We wait for five minutes and it should be there. We’re trying to get a little external temperature thing to put on there. Other than that, it’s really nice and it gets hot really fast. We like it a lot.

We sent back a previous refrigerator to Viking as the water dispenser wasnt working. The ice maker was working initially but it stopped working as well. A technician came first to evaluate the refrigerator and said he needed to replace some parts. It took weeks for him to get the parts and he finally came back saying that the refrigerator needed to be replaced. It took a while to get the issues resolved and we had to take time off of work to do that. The coordination was a little frustrating, but the process of getting their product replaced went smoothly. The guys who delivered the new refrigerator and helped set it up were great. However, it doesnt have a water dispenser and I wished that Viking had told us that because I spent money buying the charcoal filtration and I dont know what to do with it now. Other than that, their overall service was good. The installation of the refrigerator went fine and the ice maker is working okay.

In 2009, we replaced our 17-year-old SubZero with a Viking Refrigerator (15.2 cu ft of fridge and 5.1 cu ft of freezer). Aitoros in Norwalk, CT threw in a Viking wine fridge for free. The doors to the butter shelf broke very quickly after purchase and the cheese door is cracked. We also purchased an extended warranty. Bottom line, the service company after 5 attempts to fix the refrigerator told us we were keeping the door open too long. We are empty nesters who work all day and are nowhere near the kitchen. Calls to Aitoros did nothing. Calls to Viking Custom Service referred us to another store who does not service appliances purchased elsewhere. The service company who covers the warranty is unresponsive. For the last 6 months, our food is in the vintage, mustard yellow, GE refrigerator vintage 1977 (in the basement) which works like a champ. I would never, ever recommend a Viking appliance to anyone. I will never purchase another appliance from Airotos who we have used for the last 20 years. Whatever happened to customer service? It seems we have no other alternative than to go and buy a new refrigerator.

A repairman told me that it has defective parts. Nothing caused by us. Total cost for the repairs is $576. The warranty states that only one part is covered for 5 years - of course, not the parts I need. The company (Viking) wasted a lot of my time only to state the same, Sorry, not covered. Frustrating. Viking has quality in its name and it was on sale at the store so I bought a stove that is a combination convection and a radiant oven. The quality of the construction is good and the oven works well, but the durability of the trim and details is poor. The grates have a little rubber piece that plugs into the bottom of it that separates from the range-top that it sits on and those have started falling out. I called Viking and they said that those were only covered by a 90-day warranty. I was pretty displeased about that. I talked to managers there and they wouldn’t stand behind their product so it left a pretty sour taste in my mouth. I thought that they needed to take this seriously. I was shocked by their willingness not to stand behind the three months when this company has such a good brand reputation. And no one seemed to really care about it. The house that we purchased already had a Viking Range and so, we wanted to continue using Viking. So far, were not impressed with the refrigerator. Weve used Samsung more than anything else before and weve never had so many issues come up as we have with this $15,000 fridge. For one, Viking doesnt have a great after purchase service. When they delivered the fridge, there was something wrong with it. The whole process took about two months for them to come and exchange the fridge. And then this year, weve had issues with the freezer, where a portion of it doesnt seem to be working. Weve been back and forth with them trying to find some service provider in the vicinity. Only after two months and a lot of follow up did they finally have someone coming in to check and see whats going on. As to how long it would take them to actually fix it, Im not even sure. The thing is, they have a third party that deals with these things, so its not really the Viking dealer. Its just a number on the brochure. You call them and they send you off to some independent company that they have in your area, and theyre the ones that are supposed to come and take care of it. As a result, it keeps ping-ponging back and forth. Besides that, the fridge looks sleek and its nice to look at. Its wide and its spacious. I definitely dont have issues with storing anything. I like that the shelves are wide and tall. So in terms of space and cooling issues in the refrigerator, we havent had an issue. Although, our ice cubes have been melting since summer. But still, when things get out of hand, theyre gonna have a third party, not necessarily a Viking technician coming and dealing with your issues and theres a lot of bureaucracy and telephone calls involved in the middle that waste our time as a consumer. And when you spend so much money on a refrigerator, you sort of dont expect this. You want things to go smoothly. And it all goes back to how great that service provider is, which from my initial experience, theyre not great. We even had an issue finding the refrigerator in the beginning. We had to go to another city and order it. So, if I were to recommend Viking to somebody else, I would say make sure that if its not that easy to procure the item from the beginning, maybe it wont be that easy to get service after the purchase.

A friend of ours also had a Viking that we really liked the style of. We compared it against other ones in the showroom and generally liked the look of it better. We got a Viking range and dealt with MD Appliance in La Canada, California, and they were great. They were good at calling out the features and differences between them and the other top-of-the-line one that was like a Wolf. There are also a couple of very small, little, kinda like nitpicky things I noticed with the range. When the burner is at a very low setting, almost like on the simmer setting, it has a flickering effect on the gas burner. Also its not a smooth, sort of clean sounding burn when it’s up higher. So if I were to perfect the range, I would eliminate that kind of irritating flicker sound. The burners themselves are very heavy, which is fine. But the metal bottom of the burners is very rough, and it’s not a finished metal. So unfortunately when our house cleaner was taking it off of there, she scratched some of the surface of the range which freaking killed us, because it was like the price of a car. I wished that there was either some of sort of powder coat or some kind of finish on the underside of the burner that would prevent that type of thing from happening. But other than that were pleased with the quality and I have no problem recommending it.
