We had Viking in the past. It was something we became accustomed to and it really never gave us a bunch of problems. We decided to stay with something that we like and we got a Viking range. The Viking dealer was great. He was helpful, showed us the different products and features, and led us in the right direction. Our range is really nice, and I really like its portable griddle top.

Viking has always been one of the top brands to buy in status, quality and functionality. I’m 63-years-old and I’ve had Viking for 40 years. I just purchased a range for a second home, and I’m satisfied with the quality of the product. The whole package is good. The quality of the stainless steel and the knobs too. They also moved up to LED light, which is nice. I am a builder in Manhattan and I do some high-end residential and commercial work. I am not a cook but I recognize quality when I see and work with it. Viking is one of the brands that I would always recommend.

I love my range. It cooks much better than anything else I’ve ever had and that’s what I’m excited about. Viking has a good reputation and I was glad they were made in the US. I also like the fact that it doesnt have any electronic components. The other range I had before was a Dacor range and the electronic part of it just went out all the time. So I was just really happy with this one. The simpler, the better. Plus it lasts long. However, when I had an energy check, it was discovered that there was a gas leak. I then had a well-recommended company come by. That company thought that they fixed the problem at the connecting site in the back, but then the Energy Check people came back and it really wasn’t fixed. So they came out again and they said they fixed it but they really didn’t. They were just putting it tighter and tighter there on the connector where the tube comes in from the wall from where the gas comes. Then finally their best guy came out and he replaced the whole hose and said that the units fixed. However, I still smelled gas and Energy Check told me that I shouldnt smell that. I think the smell thing was there ever since I got the range and I dont know if its a defect. Also, I am gonna have to pay for part of it, which I understand. But I was really impressed that Viking came out and fix the problem. Therefore, I would have no reservation with buying a Viking Range.

It would take days to fully explain all of the trouble weve had with our Viking refrigerator and freezer. They are both about five years old and have been nothing but trouble. The first freezer was deemed a lemon and was replaced just before we purchased our home. The replacement freezer has never worked properly. Over the past year, I have had the local repair company at my home about a dozen times. My children are familiar with the man. They greet him by name; we even got him a Christmas gift! That is how familiar we are with the repairman.Last March, the refrigerator stopped working. It took over a week just to have someone come and diagnose the issue. Then, the part we needed was on back order. We were without a refrigerator for over a month. As a wife and a mother of two young children, you can imagine the problems this caused. Once it was repaired, it worked for a few months, until we began having issues again in the summertime. We also had an ongoing issue with the freezer developing a sheet of ice on the back wall. On December 18, 2018, we had the repairman come for the issue with the ice in the freezer (I think this was his fourth time coming for that particular issue), as well as an issue with the refrigerator developing a sheet of ice behind the drawers. Each time we have one problem repaired, a new one comes up. I actually called Viking Customer Service and spoke in detail with a representative on February 12th. I explained that we had been without a refrigerator since December (in addition to the ice developing, there was another issue that caused the refrigerator to stop cooling). The part needed to repair this problem was on backorder. She was very kind and helpful and assured me she would return my call within 48 hours. I have yet to hear back from her.The cost to replace the refrigerator and freezer is over $20k. The fact that we have an appliance that is that expensive and it rarely functions properly is absolutely ridiculous. I would happily purchase another brand, but nothing is the same size as the Viking. Therefore, were looking at having to renovate our kitchen and change the cabinets to accommodate a new refrigerator and freezer. I had a sliver of hope after speaking to the customer service representative, but now I know that was too good to be true. Not only are the Viking products unreliable, they dont care about the consumer.I have never been so dissatisfied with a product or a company. I have spent countless hours on the phone with the repair company and days at home waiting on service. Ive wasted money on the repairs, not to mention the obscene amount of food, both refrigerated and frozen, that Ive had to throw away. I honestly cannot believe they are able to get away with selling these products.

We had a Viking range in our previous home and then we moved and we updated our kitchen. We wanted the same appliances that we had in the other home because we liked them. We got the range, the hood, and a dishwasher. The leads broke but they sent somebody out for free within a couple of days to fix it. It was all covered. I was very happy with it and everything has been perfect since the tech came out.

Our Viking sealed 6 burner cook top is about 8 or 9 years old. Five of the 6 burners are fine. One burner (front right of course) ignites, but keeps clicking the starter for all 6; after it ignites. Called Viking and then their genuine parts distributor for suggestions and parts. Bought a new sensor (with only comes with ring) for about $90.00 with shipping. Although they wanted me to buy a $50.00 tool to remove/install, I rigged my own special wrench to unscrew and screw in the ring/sensor. In short, the burner does the exact same thing it did before. A lot of time, effort and $90.00 wasted. As an FYI: when we did this kitchen, we also got a Viking built in side by side refrigerator. After 3 defective units in less than 6 months, they gave me my $$ back. All units were bad in multiple ways. Gotta give them credit as they really tried to satisfy my wife and me, but they just could not. I hope I have better luck with this professional style range top. To be continued....

I had Viking for 14 years and I never had a problem with it. I liked it very much and decided to go with it again. The first one I had, I liked its dependability and the way it cooked. It was a high performing stove, and I liked that. What I have now is the same model, newer, and it’s no different. I had two problems however. I ordered my Viking range and when it came, there was a gas leak in it. The Viking person could not find any smell of gas, and he thought I was crazy. I had the gas company out and they found that it was inside the stove. Then the second time, they took that stove away and gave me another one, and I had a defect in that one also. So, I’m on my third stove, but it’s finally the right one. The installation teams have been fine too.

We had the range installed about three weeks ago and we love it. This is a Series 5 model and the one thing that we dont like about it is the fact that the knobs got that little blue marker at the top and we thought it would lit up when you turn it on to show that its on, but they dont. Its there just to show the off position. We do have the LED lights under the panel that come on, but youve gotta physically look at every knob to make sure that theyre in the off position to make sure its not on a really low simmer where you cant see the flames. They should put a light on each one of those knobs to show when you turn it on. Other than that, it’s performing well. We cook a lot on it.I looked at some of the other models that were less expensive. Some of them were half the price but then, I looked at the consumer reviews and the people that were giving it 4 or 5 stars were only about 60%. But the Viking Range was in the high 90s. Some of these other ranges look good, but according to a lot of the customers who had bought them, they didnt function properly. So that was the main driving force for going with a Viking.

The dealer I was buying from was having a weekend event and they had reps from different appliance companies. I didnt want the typical LG or any of the regular brands like GE Profile or KitchenAid. I had KitchenAid gas range before and I wasnt happy with it because the burner wasnt totally heating. It had a little gap, so I had to keep turning whatever I was cooking so it would cook evenly. I also had a GE refrigerator and that was awful. This time, I wanted something higher-end and so we decided to go with Viking. Also, Viking was still more affordable. I purchased a whole kitchen and all my appliances are now Viking. It looks great and it’s definitely high-end. The range definitely cooks evenly and Im happy with it. The stovetop has been my favorite feature as well. Overall, one can tell the quality of Viking just in cooling down the stove or the oven door. I can feel the quality compared to the other standard brands.

This speaks to the response of Viking to their potential customers - beware!

The quality of the Viking Range is fine. However, the oven doesn’t cook evenly. It’s also very small. The square footage inside of the oven is very small compared to my old GE, in my old apartment that I loved. It’s cooking thoroughly but its not even. So, if I’m going to bake cookies, I have to turn the tray around to get the back. Moreover, the knobs to turn on the oven and the stove get very, very, very hot when the oven is on. But the door closes fine. There’s nothing wrong with the unit. But I probably wouldnt buy it again. On the other hand, I had to call and have the Viking people come out a couple of weeks ago and they were really helpful. And then, the check was even lovelier, so their customer service is great.

In 2009, we replaced our 17-year-old SubZero with a Viking Refrigerator (15.2 cu ft of fridge and 5.1 cu ft of freezer). Aitoros in Norwalk, CT threw in a Viking wine fridge for free. The doors to the butter shelf broke very quickly after purchase and the cheese door is cracked. We also purchased an extended warranty. Bottom line, the service company after 5 attempts to fix the refrigerator told us we were keeping the door open too long. We are empty nesters who work all day and are nowhere near the kitchen. Calls to Aitoros did nothing. Calls to Viking Custom Service referred us to another store who does not service appliances purchased elsewhere. The service company who covers the warranty is unresponsive. For the last 6 months, our food is in the vintage, mustard yellow, GE refrigerator vintage 1977 (in the basement) which works like a champ. I would never, ever recommend a Viking appliance to anyone. I will never purchase another appliance from Airotos who we have used for the last 20 years. Whatever happened to customer service? It seems we have no other alternative than to go and buy a new refrigerator.

Weve had our Viking fridge for five years now and our experience has been very good. We had a problem with the compressor and because its under warranty, we called Viking Refrigerators a few weeks ago to have the piece repaired, and we had a very good service. Initially, we were renovating the kitchen and we wanted a fridge that is not too deep and that is bigger than the standard and we thought that the Viking was the one we needed. We like that we can easily find things in the fridge because its only 24 inches in depth. The only thing is we were a bit disappointed with the cheap drawers because theyre plastic and everything was cracked. So for the price we paid for the fridge, the drawers should have been of a better quality. The person who came to change the compressors said that it would cost us a big amount to change the drawers, so we will keep them with all the cracks.

Weve been having a lot of problems with our refrigerator. From the beginning, the freezer side would not seal properly and we couldnt figure out why. The contractor took a look at the door and he realized that the seal thing was disconnected. It took them three or four weeks to get the part here to get it fixed and meanwhile, our freezer was working really hard but that got fixed. But from the get-go, our fridge has been super loud. At first, we thought it was because the cabinet up above was a little loose. We tightened that cabinet up and the fridge is still super loud. Were still going back and forth with Wiking and it is not resolved. Its just a bunch of escalation to somebody who doesnt call back. The people are very nice at Viking but nothing has really been accomplished. Its not the right fridge to buy for $10,000. We should have bought a different fridge.

I saw that the refrigerator was much better because in the beginning, I was close to buying Sub-Zero. But because all of my appliances were Viking, I didnt want to make a mix. That’s why I bought my own refrigerator. But by the day I bought it, it started to have many problems. The engine turned off by itself. It worked once in a while.Viking fixed it three times. When they were fixing the last time, the tech broke the main doors arm so he couldn’t close the refrigerator. I got more upset about it. He then made the refrigerator open and said, “You have to turn it off, and you have to wait like three or four days for us to have the part for me to be able to fix it.” I said, “Are you gonna leave me without a refrigerator, without a freezer? I mean, it wasn’t my fault. I mean, you are fixing something new, and now, you are telling me I have to wait four days without a refrigerator because you broke the arm?” And the fourth time, they again wanted fix it. I bought something new. I dont want it to be fixed all the time. So, I brought it to the place that I bought it, they spoke to me and they changed the whole refrigerator.Hopefully, I will buy the same Viking set because all appliances on my kitchen are Viking. It came with the house. But the ones they have in the house are the worst ones that Viking has. The cooking appliance turns on by itself too. It has the same problem. Almost all the people who have the same system said all of it came like that. So, if I want something better, I have to change the model and get something more expensive or higher quality. Also, I want something bigger because the one that I have is really small.

Ive heard of Viking for years because my son-in-law builds very high-end homes, and I know that at times they use Viking appliances. We bought our Viking refrigerator through Best Buy, and the reps there were fabulous. This fridge was on display at Best Buy when I was there. The reps said that normally Viking refrigerators arent on the Best Buy floor, but this fridge had been returned because it had a slight dent in it and the customer wouldnt accept it. One of the big reasons that I bought this fridge was the counter depth, and that was key. We ordered our Viking refrigerator back in October, but weve been under construction all this time and we just finally got it put in. Weve only been using it for about three weeks to a month. The quality of the fridge that we got is good. I like the brightness and how the doors open very fully. However, the only complaint I have right now with it is about the ice in the container in the freezer. Sometimes, the container overfills and when you open it, it pops the ice out down into the bottom. Nevertheless, I had a good experience overall with Viking.

The models that were manufactured between 2001 and 2007 were total crap. And they knew there were problems. The owners had significant repairs and costs. I had issues with the thermostat, compressor, evaporator, and hardware falling off. The evaporator was 1,500 bucks to replace and Ive done that twice. When it came down for replacement, Viking offered us a 40% discount to stay with them and give their product another chance. So far, Im very pleased with the new refrigerator. Ive seen Viking Ranges in some upper-class homes and some friends of ours have them. My wife and I had a premium range, one of the chef cook ranges in another house but it wasn’t a Viking. So, when I looked around in Harway, one of the dealers had four models of Viking. They have a showroom floor that has almost every Viking range they made and then they have a couple of other brands as well. I pretty much knew I wanted the Viking one when I walked in there but I looked at the other one. There were a couple of range that when you put them on simmer, the simmer runs out completely different holes that you just think about the burner. The other range has big holes and it turns the gas down but if you really want the simmer, that may be too many holes to stay lit and it might be too much heat. The other one changes to an inner burner to do that. I thought that was cool but at the end of the day, theres just more stuff to go wrong. I looked at Viking and figured it out. Surprisingly, there was so little difference between them. You could get six burners in 36 inches’ range which is pretty good. And I liked the way Viking looks. Theyre very premium ovens. I also liked that the Viking burners were all the same size instead of having a simmer burner, a non-simmer burner, a big burner and a little burner. Theyre all identical and they all have a simmer feature so you don’t have to try to figure out and it’s one of those kinds of deals. Its designed a bit more for somebody that never forgets. The range I purchased is awesome. I ordered the 36-inch range which comes with a six-burner version. When the box came, it said it was a six burner but when we took it out, the range was the one with the griddle in the middle with its own four burners. I pulled the guys and told them that was the wrong stove. They pulled the box out and showed me the box that has the right part number with the right words on it. It was a big shock to us. I waited five weeks for the range to get here and I didn’t want to wait again. So, I had the range with the griddle installed. I was here when the guys installed it and I had a whole kitchen renovation done when adding this range. I was the only one who wanted and liked the six-burner one but now, I have four burners and the griddle works really nice. My wife also informed me that she liked the griddle one better. The burners work well and they put a lot of heat. Im on propane and theyre 15,000 PTV burners each so it turns out we could really cook something. And all the dishes and pots use the lowest setting now and that we don’t even need that high burner. I like being able to utilize one of the burner stove and the cooktop wont get hot enough. When I bought the range, I wasn’t trying to buy the griddle one but had I known I was getting it, the reps would have told me that there was a wooden cutting board that goes on the griddle. And it covers the griddle up so youre not looking at the ugly black griddle that gets naturally darker with time. Theres also the stainless-steel cover for it. The Viking Range stove itself has a dust-cover bottom. So, I was surprised that the Viking people didn’t try to upsell any of the options. I wanted the dust-cover bottom cause it keeps things from going under the range. These things are made like commercial ranges where theyre open at the bottom but most people don’t want that. So, I had to go back and buy that part. Then I found out that they had a wooden piece that goes in the griddle and the cover that goes over the griddle. I drove back from driving 27 miles to pick them up. I would have rather they showed me all that stuff when I bought the oven. The only reason I knew it was when I went on a Viking website and I saw all that. When the wooden thing that goes in the griddle, the cutting board and the cover first came in, they were wrong and the guy told me that he knew that I already had a bad experience. He looked and came back and told me that those were the wrong parts. So, he reordered them again so something is going on with Viking shipping. They cant put the right stuff in the right box and thats frustrating especially when youre on back order and I had to wait six weeks. When I got the stove, Viking gave me a discount coupon for their pots, pans and the skillets so I went back and bought a bunch of skillets and stuff using their discount which was really cool. Viking has a lot of accessories that were not in the store. You would never know about them unless you read their little coupon that you normally throw away. I ordered the big stainless spatula and spoon that hang and two of them are on back orders. But, the two I got were gorgeous and I’m going to hang them on the wall. If a person buys an $8,000 oven, Viking salesmen should sell up and show all the accessories. I love the Viking equipment but their process of shipping the equipment is flawed. I don’t like ordering things and getting the wrong things. Im okay with the griddle now although its not what I ordered.

We can arrange them to where we have a place at the bottom that we can put platters into or a pizza box or whatever we want to. We also like the fact that everything was made out of metal. Aside from the refrigerator, we also got the French door double oven, the six burner cooktop with the griddle and thee optional griddle, the vent hood, two warming drawers, and a microwave, from Viking. We love the quality of our Viking appliances and we would recommend them highly.

I worked in the consumer electronics industry about 30 some years ago so I was well aware of Viking. We were building our house. I have a friend whos a chef and we consulted him on a number of different products, and the Viking range was the one that he recommended. I bought the unit through a Viking dealer. Pacific Kitchen and Home was great. Its a Best Buy thing. And then, weve had it serviced once and there were just problems getting parts, and part of it is where we are. Theres no local place around here, so we had to call a place that was a bit further away. The COVID19 issue is one of the issues that people were suffering from because the dealer was closed for a period of time. When the parts came in, they were wrong and they had to get another part. But that was the only issue we had.The combination of the Viking range and the hood is just excellent because they work seamlessly together. Everything about the unit is very nice. I love the sealed burners. I like the fit and finish. I like that its above the floor and it has the different types of burners. There are things that Id like to see different, but those are minor.

I was looking at the Viking refrigerator and it was fit for what I wanted it for. It was also better priced than most of the other commercial units, so I decided to purchase it. I have it in my home for a year in May now and its a good refrigerator. But I had problems with it and I had technicians out here at least four times to work on it.I had a tech out twice for the icemaker when it wasnt working. Something had burned out in there so they had to come and replace that. From what I could tell, these repairmen were not familiar with these products, so they were not too sure. They were constantly making phone calls asking someone else how to do things but most of all, it was like some of these things were failing inside of the refrigerator. I also had a problem with the water dispenser. The rubber over it was broken and Viking shipped one part out. Then the repairman was out for that but it still didn’t work properly. So now, I’ve been waiting for this thing to be fixed and it has been three months. Aside from that, the BlueZone bulb burned out when it should not be going out after only seven months. I didn’t even have the refrigerator for a year. So, I had to buy another bulb which was a hundred bucks. Then, the refrigerator kept beeping after I replaced the BlueZone bulb, so I had to call somebody to come out to turn off this annoying beep. It was weird. All in all, Viking hasnt fine-tuned some of the little things on their product and everything there needs to be looked at. Even the replacement parts werent fitting and I don’t understand it. It’s also a little disappointing. I haven’t even paid the thing off and I’ve had the service guy five times out. They need to care more about customer service, too. The refrigerator is under a three-year manufacturer’s warranty but they wouldn’t replace the bulb. First, they told me that they didn’t have the bulb. So, I got the bulb at no cost. Then I didn’t hear anything, so I followed up with them and they said that I had to go back to my dealer, buy the bulb from them, and let them come and install it. Not only that, when I called Viking, they didn’t have the bulb in stock and I had to wait four months for someone to get this stupid bulb in stock. But Viking sells an $11,000 refrigerator, so they gotta have the replacement parts.

Have problems with this since 2008, with the little square pipes that connect from the refrig section down into the freezer freezing up solid with ice. When this happens the refrigerator warms up as it cuts the circulation from the freezer to the refrigerator. I have tried modifying the ducts to no avail... This is a crappy design, never seen anything like this. Ive had GE appliances that are almost 50 years old that never ice up... The VIKING is defrosting, but it looks like the cycle is too short to warm the ducts properly - either they should be tied physically to the coil for warming or changed to teflon so ice wont stick....ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET DATA OR SERVICE BULLETINS from VIKING, and their STAFF are clueless.... These appliances are of such poor quality, how do they manage to market this junk? Class Action? Consumers Reports?? Someone needs to shake these guys up.... The basic design is good but the product delivery is awful...

I have had a Viking gas oven that has had the same recurring issue since it was brand new, 3 1/2 years ago. The oven heats up but then fails to reignite, causing the oven to lose temperature. Viking service providers have put band-aids on this issue 3 times, the latest 4 months ago. These have helped for a short period of time, but eventually have all failed. When I called Viking today to let them know that the issue is happening again, neither Viking (nor the service provider) would stand behind the product or the work that was done to fix it. The customer care department told me that I would need to pay for the service, and then Viking would decide whether or not it was a quality issue. They would not escalate the issue to a supervisor, claiming that there was no such person. I am writing the review here in the effort to get some resolution.

We have a lot of friends who own Viking appliances, both refrigerators and stoves. This is our first Viking fridge and we love it. I like the bottom drawer for the freezer cause we got the big swing door. It was a little bit hard to install because it had to be in a wall unit. Other than that, were happy with the product itself. We were fine with the dealer, however, we are still missing pieces of equipment, such as pieces of trim. We had someone from Viking come over and he supposedly ordered the trim pieces. Its been a month and we still havent seen him though. Then, theres a spacer between the hinged top when the door swings open that was broken. We are missing that little barrier in between, to keep it from swinging more than 180 degrees. Still, I would recommend Viking refrigerators.

We got a slide in six-burner, dual-fuel Viking range, which I absolutely love. Its fantastic. I havent had any problems with it. The hood is great. I felt like the Viking was more substantial. It was a little bit better built. I tried the Wolf, and I felt like the knobs on the Wolf were not as solid. They felt more jiggly. The Viking range felt very solid. When I pushed it in and turned it in, its all super solid. Im very satisfied. It was a very expensive range, but it is fantastic.

We’ve been told that Viking is one of the best in that price range and this is our second Viking range so it has excellent quality. Now, I have six burners as opposed to four. Our new stand-alone stove has stainless steel knobs but our old built-in electric stove has black knobs. I wanted to match the knobs but Viking doesnt offer the option to change the black ones with stainless steel. It’s frustrating that the older models and the newer models can’t mesh together. But aside from that, I had another part replaced and it was very easy.

My wife is a good cook and she wanted to make sure that she had something that was good for baking that has a good stovetop on it. We decided to get a Viking range based on its resale value - I know a lot of homeowners who are looking at a kitchen recognize the Viking brand. We bought our unit online and it was delivered after a few days. The range is a great purchase and it is a nice addition to the kitchen. Its really dependable, cooks well, and its overall aesthetic is really pleasing. It has PowerPlus so we could boil water quickly and the griddle works really well as well. The ability to be able to cook two different things in the oven has also been a big plus, especially for Thanksgiving.

My Viking range cooks great and very fast, too. Its a beautiful appliance however, I don’t believe theres a timer on this thing to time anything. I don’t like the fact that when I turn on the oven, theres a blue light that comes on but theres no signal that says when its gotten to the proper heat where the blue light goes out. And I have to be basically sitting on top of it to know the proper heat. Ive had other ovens that will beep when they’ve hit the right temperature. The other thing I don’t like is the ergonomics of it because I have to bend over to read the dials to see where theyre at because my particular range has a little bit of an overhang to it and the dials are underneath it. That’s a very minor thing but an important one to me.

When we purchased our new home, the Viking product line was used by the builder. The quality of the refrigeration is really good. We have a unit that has the freezer at the bottom and then the upper unit is the refrigeration unit. The double-door unit is really good. Its a definite upgrade from our previous refrigerator in our old home and definitely a lot cheaper and a lot bigger than our previous refrigerator unit.I had no issues with the dealer. But I noticed that after a year, we got invitations from the deputy on board or the integrated maintenance feature refrigerator to replace a water filter and air filter so I purchased those through the Viking website. We recently had it installed, and it was really easy to do. Viking has very well built quality products. In fact, we have the kitchen full of Viking products. We have a Viking gas stove range as well as a double-oven. Were very satisfied with all of the products.

Bought a Viking that never ran properly, parts broke, mother board changed 3 times. Company agreed to replace but we had to pay up half the value. Then the replacement broke down, mother board, in less than 9 months and finally got replaced again. 2 months into owning it broke down!!! We are told no mother boards out there to replace with - back ordered. So we bought a defective Viking at full price the first time then had it replaced and paid another $5000+ so now our investment total about 16,000$ plus time spent away from work for repair guys to come and fix numerous times per year plus horrible costumer service. One repair company purported to order a part and we paid for it and never got it. They disappeared. Worst product ever!!!! DO NOT BUY A VIKING FRIDGE! It is unconscionable for Viking to still be selling fridges at these price points.

Im a hobby chef and I like the Viking we have in some vacation homes, the more expensive ones. And I love the old ones. 10 years old, 15 years old, or brand new. A Viking is a Viking. Im very happy with my Viking range. I have the 8-burner range with the dual oven, all-gas. But the broiler comes on and shuts off after three minutes. So, theyre gonna put a new one in to fix it. Other than that, it has convections, the lights, the temperature control, the small one and the big one, the lights and the knobs. I truly like everything about the range and I will not want anything else. Our Viking Dishwasher is my problem. It has been repaired four times now. They came out as soon as they could. They fixed it and then they had to come back, then they fixed it again. Either they are not very knowledgeable about the dishwasher or the dishwasher really has a serious problem. First, the mechanic was out two times for the lock. Then the dishwasher ran all night twice and the kitchen was really hot and then they put a new electric board, which was underneath the dishwasher. Now, every once in awhile, when I close the door and I want to put the program in, whether pot scrub or normal wash or what, it doesnt come on. You have to do it two or three times. Im not happy with it.

Ive been very familiar with Viking for many years but Im very unhappy with their service, and the service who I bought the Viking from. I knew it was a floor model at the showroom and they told me that it had been out there for less than a year and had never been used, and it was like new and would have the full warranty. But several pieces broke within 24 hours of me getting this $10,000 refrigerator. It keeps things cold but all of the door inserts, such as the shelves in the door, all were broken. When I called Viking, they said that this was a five-year old model. It had been sitting on the showroom for that long, which was never disclosed and they wont cover anything. It was a very disappointing experience and makes me want to avoid using Viking. It’s a nice refrigerator. Unfortunately, they are selling it through dealers that dont understand their process and theyre not standing behind it and not willing to stand up to their dealer. So, its not a company I would want to do business with again.

I bought a house and it had an older Viking range and a Bosch dishwasher. I needed to replace my refrigerator so I wanted it to be Viking. I chose Viking because I wanted it to match the stove. Besides, Bosch did not have as good reviews as Viking. And I was a bit limited as I live in a very old house and it’s a standalone refrigerator. It’s not a built-in and there aren’t a lot of those high-end available and Viking had a nice one. So I purchased the refrigerator through Best Buy and they were very nice. They didnt have the refrigerator on the showroom floor and this guy named Ryan found it for me when I told him exactly what I needed. When I bought the French Door refrigerator, it was fine. I like the way it looks, as well as its lighting. But then it began making high-pitch tinging noise that was driving me crazy. I had an appliance guy come in to check it and I pointed it out and he took a video and told me that its no good. It was not the fan which a lot of people thought. The fan makes a fine sound. Almost a comforting sound. But this was a metal on metal and it was the condenser. They put me in touch with Viking and they sent out a technician and he put some sound deadening material on the condenser which has solved the problem. Thing is, it should be designed that way in the first place. Its silly. And also right there in the back of the fridge is a crazy piece of cardboard which doesn’t make any sense. It should be a metal panel. But overall, its a very nice fridge with a very good price. I would recommend Viking.

My husband knew a long time ago about Viking Refrigerators and we did some comparison with Wolf. We liked the looks of Wolf and the pricing was about the same. We wanted to go for Wolf, but they only do the built-in refrigerator, so we looked at Viking. We went to Midwest TV and Appliances and I liked the salesman, although she didn’t really influence my purchase because when we went there, we knew what we wanted at that point.I really liked Viking. I liked the look also and they have the freestanding refrigerator, so we decided to buy everything from Viking -- a freestanding range, a freestanding refrigerator, and a wine cellar. We got for free our dishwasher and we got the hood, which was with the ventilator. We also bought the fan plus the hood and we were very happy with it. We havent figured out the wine cellar because it is not very clear how to set up the temperature, but other than that, we are very happy with it. I also bought some of their cookware from the website and I like the pans and the other stuff. The core in our freestanding range came broken, but they said its still good if I plug it. It took around six weeks to get the core and for them to come and replace it. Our oven in our range, because it is brand-new, still has the oily smell, so it bothers me when we use the oven, but everything is looking good and we are very happy with our appliances. Viking is a good brand and I will tell my friends to buy Viking. I have some friends and they are renovating their house. They are so excited about Wolf, but I told them they could try with Viking, it’s nice and it’s quality. I will recommend them to go directly to Viking showroom. It really helps if you go directly to the Viking store instead of going to a dealer that has different brands. The reps will pay more attention to you. Otherwise, youre gonna do so much research online.

We purchased a Viking Range and Microwave 5 years ago and we believed it would be a wise choice but it was anything but. The quality was poor. The oven door never closed right and the oven light stayed on all the time. And after many complaints we finally had to have service to change the hinges that never worked right. The bill for that was $600 and the electric oven takes way too long to heat up and the thermostat had to be changed twice. The microwave just failed and that is costing $400 to fix. I will never recommend Viking or the dealer Pacific Sales in So Cal to anyone, dont waste your money on Viking. They are not the company of the past and the quality and durability is no longer there, as for Pacific Sales after they take your money they are no longer interested in satisfying their customers needs. Overall, the experience has been good. However, I was a bit disappointed with the issue of the refrigerator and it happened after a year, so it was just out of warranty. Before the Christmas break, I opened the fridge one morning and noticed it was warm. It continued to get warm and got up to about 65 in the fridge and well above freezing in the freezer. I placed a service call with a local company Pacific Sales recommended. They told me to reset the power. It didn’t really make any difference that day, then the next day, I checked again and noticed the fridge was working. I kept my eye on it and its been working ever since.

Installed Viking appliances in our brand new home and it didnt take long for problems to start. The dishwasher model #VD8200SS started leaking and not drying after the first wash. I had the unit serviced twice to finally find out the entire soap dispenser piece needed to be replaced. The unit stopped leaking, but still wont dry. The serviceman was dumbfounded. The unit began smelling and stopped working all together. The service discovered it needed a brand new drain pump. Drain pump installed and turns on, but it still smells and the washer still refuses to dry anything. Double oven model #VED01302TSS now makes humming noise while the unit is off. The serviceman went back out to the house and said it needs a transformer and advised me Viking ovens are pretty much a joke and suggested to not use the self-clean function. He said it only greases up the inside wires and gadgets, and is very expensive to replace after the warranty expires. Out of the 7 Viking appliances I currently have, the stove top and toaster are probably the only two which didnt see a lot of problems with. Dishwashers, stoves, fridge, beverage centers and microwaves - forget it. Viking is simply overpriced and a total joke. Viking, you can pretty much stick it. I went with a five-piece Viking appliance package for its price and the brand reputation. I was able to get the five pieces that worked best for me at that time. However, I found that Viking appliances as a whole are very simplistic. Its great in a refrigerator, but not so much in some of the other appliances. I had Jenn-Air previously and their appliances just had more features. But for refrigeration, it just needs to keep cool things cool and frozen things frozen. I purchased a separate Viking VCFB304 fridge and freezer model from Designer Home Surplus in Dallas, Texas four years ago. For the last year, we have been having problems with an alarm going off intermittently, more commonly at about three or four in the morning. I contacted a general appliance service center in my city and they came out and unsuccessfully tried to fix the problem. After this experience, I contacted another service center and this time searched for an authorized Viking repair technician. This repair center was very professional. They came out, knew the product and the problem I was dealing with. However, there was a problem! The units I had purchased from had been stripped of their ID Tags with model and VIN ID tag. For this reason, the authorized Viking repair tech could not work on my product as it was either a written off product or stolen. Both units, fridge and freezer, had the same issue.I contacted the retailer I purchased them from Designer Home Surplus and spoke to their customer service rep, and they told me that I should try another service company. I contacted Viking and explained my problem. I forwarded them a copy of my purchase invoice to prove I bought them. They didnt have much interest that their authorized Viking dealer might be selling written off merchandise, and they didnt really have an answer on what to do next but that I should contact the retailer. My fridge still is not fixed and I have been told it is being looked into. I asked them to authorize their authorized tech to fix the problem in the meantime not expecting it to be under warranty, just wanting to pay to fix my problem and use my fridge, but they wont make a call to authorize it. I would throw this unit in the trash but its built in to my custom kitchen cabinets, so this is not an option as my kitchen was built to accommodate these horrible appliances.

Then a year later, the door started to hang crookedly. I decided to purchase a new Viking fridge/freeze, same type but newer for about $10,000. I also bought the extended warranty on it. Within 6 months, the first drawer cracked. I called the dealer and they told me my extended warranty would not cover broken drawers or shelves because that is considered wear and tear. I was completely annoyed. I tried to fix the drawer by crazy gluing it together. I also have red sticky tape wrapped around it to hold it together. I had to do the same with the cracked door shelf. Now 3 years later, I have three broken shelve doors and the broken drawer, all taped with red tape. It is absolutely disgusting the shabby quality of product that Viking builds. The oven that came with the house, the door became crooked too and doesnt close all the way. I had an authorized service come and see what could be done. Nothing! They no longer sell the hinge replacement part. I had the same problem with the printing on the oven panel too. It has worn off and I had to write the temperatures and the baking programs with a black magic marker! I also called them to find out what I could do about that and they said I would have to buy a new front panel! I am 56 years old and have had many fridges and ovens in my life. I have never had any problems with any of them. Most of them were about $1,500.00-$3000.00. I will never buy a Viking product and when I am in an appliance store, I try to stand by the Viking section for as long as I can and tell anyone considering buying a Viking to not do it! I tell them to read the reviews about Viking products first. I decided to add my review so that if I can save one person from wasting their money, I will then be a satisfied Viking customer!

My friend has a Viking range and hes had it since the mid 90s. Weve been to his house and used it numerous times. When we bought our house, it had a Thermador stove range and it started to die this year. It was 20 years old and the parts were unavailable anymore and Thermador wouldnt give us anything to help us out to replace it. So we got a Viking range and we have it for a month now. We like that the cooking temperature in the oven is accurate, and that its a professional size. It has six burners which is great on holidays. During the week, I just keep a griddle on the middle too. But for holidays, its perfect for doing all that cooking. The Viking range is made well and theyre made to last, unlike the newer ovens that are out there that last four or five years, and then you have to replace them.We got the range from Gerhards and the guy that we worked with was nice but he didnt have a really good knowledge of all the brands. When the installation guys unpacked the range and put it in, I asked where was the backsplash and they told me that I had to order it extra as it didnt come with this model. I would have bought it initially with the range if I had known that it didn’t come with any backsplash because it comes flat with just a small bump in the back for the heat distribution from the oven. So the guy at the store wasnt a great salesman. We bought a dishwasher from them previously and their installers were terrible, so I was a little leery of going back. But theyre a local company that has been in business for generations. The installers for this range were much nicer than the installer for the dishwasher. So, they did a much better job. But overall, Viking is a wonderful range and Id definitely recommend them to a friend.

The current situation with Viking is an oven relay that has been backordered for over six weeks. Considering the poor quality of Viking appliances, their parts department should be overstocked. The Viking refrigerator is even worse. Egg bin door broken. Deli drawer (big drawer on bottom) broken twice. Have not replaced it yet because it costs over $500 for this plastic piece. Never will I buy Viking again and I tell anyone and everyone not to do so.

Bought a Viking range due to their good warranty and so far, the quality is good. But I had a little bit of an issue in the beginning. The range wasnt holding the right temperature and it had to do with a computer glitch within the motherboard. So I called up Viking, and with the warranty, they sent someone within the week, and he fixed it, and I havent had a problem since. Everything in general is very high-quality made. The people at the Viking dealer at P.C. Richard were knowledgeable and overall, it was an excellent experience.

Second failing of self cleaning feature on a dual gas/electric Viking Range
Second failing of self cleaning feature on a dual gas/electric Viking Range that I bought specifically so that I could have gas plus electric self cleaning. The range is 11 years old and Ive infrequently used the self cleaning, perhaps 7 times at the most. First repair in 2009 cost $700 and now it is broken again. At this rate, self cleaning is costing $100+ per use. When I complained the first time about the outrageous repair cost to Viking, they figuratively shrugged their shoulders. I have another complaint in again. I would not recommend this range in particular and I would be hesitant to buy any Viking appliance without careful review.

The house we purchased had a Viking Range and it was un-repairable according to our insurance so they said, “Replace it,” and we decided we want to keep the same. The one we had before was a four-burner and we replaced it with a five-burner. But my wife wants me to call on it for service now because the guy who installed it said to do a deep cleaning right away. So we did for like two and a half hours and after that every time we turn the oven on the fan has a weird noise it didn’t have before. Before everything was nice and quiet. We could hear the fan coming on exhausting the oven. And then after we did the deep clean -- the high temperature clean, now it sounds like the fan is hitting something. When we installed it the place I bought it at said that they would be putting in something like anti-tip or something to the oven so if someone stands on the door the oven wont tip over. But they did not put that in. We also ran across some problem when we were trying to fix the original stove. The cleaning function would not work on it and the burners wouldn’t fire up every time. We had to use an igniter. But I had maybe four different people out here to look at it and said, “No, we don’t do this Viking.” They wont do it. That had scared my mother a little because we were remodeling her apartment and she was thinking of getting Viking but were not too sure now because its difficult to find service for them. Not everybody deals with Viking.

We bought a complete set of appliances in 2014. After just four years of normal use, the water dispenser wont stop, the dishwasher display failed and the oven stopped working. When we called the authorized service technician, he charged me $264 just to tell me that some parts need to be replaced and all of them are not covered under the extended guarantee. Just to replace the control board of the oven will cost me more than $800. Also when called the customer service to get a clearer explanation about what is covered and what is not, the representative failed to explain where it says that the control board of the oven is excluded. We are very disappointed with Viking, we bought these appliances believing that they are better than less expensive brands but turns out that they lasted less than our previous appliances and the customer service is far worst. Sorry Viking, but this is not the way to keep your customers faithful to your brand.

Our Viking fridge/freezer came with the house as new 10 yrs ago. Weve already had an issue with the ice machine but wrote that off to a clumsy appliance repair man. About a month ago we noticed the high temp alarm go off and the appliance stopped cooling. We called out Viking approved technician and he diagnosed the control boards, which I paid 1k to have replaced. Three days later, the alarm goes off again and everything starts to defrost. The technician is unsure what the problem is but suspects a sealed system issue (another 1k). I am fuming about, what is a highly priced fridge freezer needing all this work at only 10 years old.

I got my Viking package at Best Buy when they had a Buy three things and get one for free promo. I got an oven, a cooktop, refrigerator and a dishwasher. The French-Door oven is the best Ive ever had. Its unbeatable and the ease of use is incredible. The stove top and the refrigerator are also fabulous. The refrigeration is perfect. Im very picky about ice makers but the one I have is great. It makes sufficient amount of ice and the ice is hard and lasts forever. But I cant stand the dishwasher and I want to upgrade it. Its a piece of garbage and I cant believe Viking would even put their name on it. Its been a huge disappointment, phasing me out of plastic. I called an issue on the dishwasher and the reps were very helpful. Apart from that, the refrigerator, the oven and the cooktop are great and I love them.

Our old Viking Refrigerator was unimpressive for the price. It was just an ordinary refrigerator with a Viking label on it. It was eight years old and a particular part broke. We could have fixed the thing for $200 but they discontinued that part and it was not available. They supposedly keep spare parts for 10 years, but I suspect that this part was defective or broke a lot, so they ran out. So our opinion of Viking is not very good.We bought a new refrigerator and it was the only one that fit in the space that we had. It also costs $1,000 more than other virtually identical refrigerators made by the same company. There were also other better refrigerators that are too tall. The new refrigerators drawers and shelves worked better than the old ones. Its a decent refrigerator, but all refrigerators in that price range are at least as good. Theres nothing special about it.

Viking is reasonably priced and is a decent-looking commercial brand. I like my refrigerator. The quality is fantastic. I like the size of it. It’s big and bulky, and probably a waste of time and money but I like it. I also got a stove, a little 30- or 36-inch, the hood, the microwave, the dishwasher and then I have a wine cooler. But I wasn’t that happy with the people. They didnt take me seriously, first of all. I went and spent like $20,000 or so and then I spent more, and they were acting like idiots. They didnt know half of what was going on with what they were selling. They didnt sell anything, actually. If I hadnt known what I was gonna get, I wouldn’t have a clue. But I had done all my investigating ahead of time. I’m a contractor too so I’ve seen stuff. The delivery service was terrible as well. They dropped my fridge when they delivered it and if I hadnt been there that day, it wouldve rolled over. I thought people who would sell this material would be told they better put their heart into it and act like they know what theyre doing. But they didnt actually have that. So Viking is not being represented so well where I bought it from. That was not a Viking dealer that I went through though. It was just a store that sold their products. It wasn’t actually Pacific Sales or Snyder Diamond. The Pacific Sales store over in Burbank is very attentive. I just don’t like going so far but when I do go, theyre all over you.

I recently purchased what I thought was a nice used fridge (Viking Designer Series Fridge DDFF136DSS0) from someone only to find out that it most likely has a bad motherboard. It doesnt cool at all and the display on the front shows nothing but a blue screen. The buttons dont do anything except for light up. After researching, apparently these motherboard controls have been failing a lot with these models and Viking charges $1,000 for a new control board. That is insane for something that is failing regularly. For that price and the repair, I might have to just go and buy a new fridge from a different company. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of care that Viking has presented in the matter. This is a major problem with Vikings product and they do not care. I commented that I could buy a new fridge for the price of the part and the Viking agent laughed and said, I dont know why you think that, people say that all the time but you cant buy one from us at that price. It was rude. I am extremely disappointed. This was for my family but I am a home remodeller and will not be recommending Viking with this type of repair cost and horrible service.

Our Viking Professional Kitchen included an under counter bar fridge. It worked for less than a month before needing repairs. About every three months after that, it would suddenly just stop working. Parts for repair would take up to a month and a half. I tried talking to Viking but they would not accept that this product was a lemon and maintained that it was covered by warranty (so why should I complain). They didnt get the issue was that we paid way more for a high-end product that worked for only a few months total out of the first year. It has been repaired a half dozen times now (appears to be a poorly designed electronics control - not a compressor).Fortunately, we purchased extended warranty as the same problem has occurred again. Once again, its a month or more waiting for parts. Our Extended warranty is over this fall. If something goes wrong after that, then we are on our own. I will toss it and buy another brand. No problem with any other Viking products, but based on the terrible Viking corporate response, I would not buy from them again. Wolf /Sub-Zero is a better combination if you are springing for high-end appliances.

We wanted an all-gas oven and Viking had it. We also wanted self-cleaning, and the one we got came available with white on the front, which we wanted. The dealer was great. However, on the back of the range, we bought a separate piece for the air to come up from the oven, and it blows the burners when the oven is on and causes the burners not to be as efficient. That’s a big flaw. Because that air is blowing the burners and the flame is flickering, it takes forever to boil something. I wouldn’t recommend it because of that. Over the years I’ve always wanted to get a Viking range. We moved back to America about five years ago and I went to remodel the kitchen, and that’s when I purchased one. The look is very nice. There’s a couple of quirks on it ‘cause when it came, the knobs were all put in the wrong thing. I didn’t know what was going on when we turned the stove on. I couldn’t understand why we couldn’t turn it smoothly from one adjustment to the other. We came to find out that the back of these knobs were put on wrong. So when the service guy came out, he looked at it and changed the knobs. As far as working with the Viking people, they’ve been very good and the service is top-notch.One of the things Ive noticed is its difficult to see the numbering on the Viking oven on what you want to set it to since its chrome and it is very shiny. When we turn the oven on to 350, we can’t tell when the light goes on or off when it becomes 350. We wait for five minutes and it should be there. We’re trying to get a little external temperature thing to put on there. Other than that, it’s really nice and it gets hot really fast. We like it a lot.

We have a Viking stove and an oven as well. Then, we were shopping around for a new stove and we really liked our Viking stove. They stopped selling Viking up here in Canada and when we bought the stove, it was just at the point when Viking lost that trademark. We were looking for a stove that didn’t have a lot of sort of electronics but would be really a good gas stove. It’s an electric oven and that would stand the test of time. The salesperson really highly recommended the stove and she was right. We love it. Then, when it came time to replace our fridge, we just naturally leaned towards looking for a fridge that had the same quality. We were lucked out that the timing was such that they started selling Viking again here in Canada.I love the icemaker that’s in the pullout drawer. We didn’t think we wanted any kind of an icemaker or a water dispenser but this one came with the ice dispenser inside and we love that. We use it all the time. And I love the layout of the drawers on the inside, the flexibility with being able to move the shelves around. I love that the shelves are glass. They’re clear so I can see through into them. Also, there are lots of space in the bottom and there’s like a pullout temperature control drawer that holds lots and lots of fruits and vegetables in there. They’re smartly designed and its a really nice fridge. One thing that would be great would be if it was easier for us to get our hands on the replacement water filters and the air filters. Its a little bit of a challenge. They have to get ordered from the States and then they go to the appliance store. It takes a long time. Other than that, I would highly recommend Viking.

I got the tall, 36-inch one-door refrigerator with the drawer-freezer on the bottom. I got three of those. I got one for the basement and two for my kitchen. So, I put them side-by-side. We have a big family, and we buy a lot. The refrigeration’s going okay. After like a month, the one in the basement stopped working. They did set up service. Something was leaking up on top. So, they did schedule somebody to come out, and it took a while to get the part. Then, by the time the tech came out, it was three months later. So, there was no refrigeration usage in the basement. It was kind of a little disappointing that we had to deal with that. Also, whenever I open that one little drawer where the ice bin is, I always seem to lose ice cubes into the freezer. It shuts itself off, but I dont think it shuts itself off soon enough once its a bit full, or if the bin is not large enough that ice cubes tend to fall out whenever we open that door. So, that was something I wasnt too crazy about because now I got ice cubes on the bottom of the freezer that I gotta try to get out. I think theyre priced high because of these little issues. When you spend so much money, you expect it to be perfect. You dont expect these little things just happen the way they do. I would expect that on a very less expensive refrigerator freezer.

We wanted to have a name brand appliance for our home and the cost point for Viking Range was slightly better. It has a noisy fan that runs after you run the stove and you turn it off and you’re having dinner and this thing just keeps running and running. There’s no adjustment to it and there’s no way to bypass it. It’s a deficient feature and that is a cause of some significant dissatisfaction. Other than that, I like it. It has good quality and Im pretty happy with it. We’re 9,000 feet and the gas nozzles were the wrong size for this altitude. The local guy from East River Appliance Repair was completely clueless and had really no value. I was ready to return the thing and I was really unhappy with it. But Viking was willing to bring a guy four hours from Denver up to Crested Butte, Colorado and fix a problem that the local guy was clueless about. The guy up from Denver was a real pro. He knew what he was doing and fixed everything. He said that the door was not primarily damaged and it could be adjusted. He saved the day for Viking. The quality of our Viking Refrigerator is not up to par. There are trim pieces that are exposed. You can see the white plastic trim pieces on the inside of the full-sized freezer and the full-size two refrigerators. One of the under-counter refrigerators in the master bedroom has been making a rattling noise ever since weve received it. I dont expect to deal with those issues when weve spent nearly $100,000 on appliances. We ordered our appliances through Winsupply and they sent out a license authorized service repair person. He relayed to us the message from Viking that the refrigerators and freezers we got were within their variants of production. Were used to using other appliance brands and they will never say that that is an acceptable variant. Our induction cooktop didnt work when we first got it and we had multiple trouble calls. They said they had to make a new part. Every month, they would call us and tell us that it was backlogged another month, and theyd push it out another month. It took them four months before the Viking representative finally called us and said that they would just replace it. They should have just replaced it brand new upfront when it wasnt working. We still dont have an industrial cooktop that works.

I spent over $20,000.00 on a complete Viking appliance replacement for 15-year-old Whirlpool Gold appliances. Most expensive mistake I ever made. The dishwasher does not dry the dishes at all and the inside of the dishwasher is always wet after a cycle. The refrigerator is very noisy and the condenser fan is louder than a jet engine when running on full. Freezer items have frost on them and I can only hope it does not break down in the near future. The convection microwave does not even pop popcorn correctly (or at all) unless bag is placed on a bowl turned upside down? Convection cooktop seems to be working okay as does the oven thus far. I have had several repair calls on the refrigerator with no repairs. One repair person indicated it was supposed to be loud. Do yourself a favor and buy Kenmore Elite or something else besides Viking for 1/3 the cost and 100 times better quality. I want my Whirlpool Gold back (as well as my $20,000.00). Viking needs to wake up before they go out of business. Is there a lemon law for appliances. These are all appliance purchased in late 2013 and I am already looking to replace them all.

We bought a brand-new house and the builder put all Viking appliances in it. We bought a brand-new refrigerator and two things went wrong with it. The fan in the freezer stopped working so everything was at 20 degrees instead of 0 degrees and things started getting soft. Also, one of the hinges of the door broke. We contacted the builder and he told us to call Viking, so we did. And then Viking gave us the local repair shop who came and fixed everything. Once everything was fixed, everything worked beautifully. We’re very happy with it.

Our experience with the Viking dealer was touch-and-go. There was a promotion and the package deal for the appliances was better than their competitors. We committed to buying the appliances and knowing that we were doing a big kitchen remodel, we gave the best timeframe we could, but we missed the timeframe. There was a lot of patient pushbacks from the team at the dealer and when it finally came time for delivery, we ended up with a problem with one of the appliances. I had to call up to the home office of the appliance dealer and then they had to call Viking to get it resolved. It took about eight weeks for the defective dishwasher to finally be replaced which was disappointing. So far, the range seems okay and were happy with it. We like the size of it, the amount of heat that it generates, and how fast it cooks. The quality of the cooking surface is the most important thing so far. All the major stuff works and it cooks, but weve had to have a couple of minor repairs done to it within the first month.

The quality of the Viking refrigerator is good and the performance is great
The quality of the Viking refrigerator is good and the performance is great. However, the functioning of the doors is not good which might have been due to the installation. The center tab of the door doesn’t match correctly. It slams into the other door. The clearance there is just off sixteenths of an inch. Any weight that you put on the door would make that clearance such that that tab will pop out again then you end up closing the door and slamming the other door so you can close it. I called different people who are Viking certified to look at it three times but they couldnt fix it. I dont know if this door issue is a manufacturing issue or an installation issue. I have another cheap refrigerator for 600 bucks and that works a lot better when it comes to doors and functionality.

We purchased a newly built home and had all Viking appliances installed. The range puts out good heat but the oven is definitely malfunctioning. It cycles every minute no matter what temperature you set it to so if I am baking something that takes 2 hours, Ill hear the igniter click and the flame come on over 100 times. I dont know if its because the flame is reigniting so often but the smell of gas is so strong. Also, the door gets so hot you cant even touch it without wearing an oven mitt. All of these make me afraid to use the oven. I called Viking and theyve sent out the same repair person twice who told me that the cycling every minute is normal and the door is supposed to get hot because heat radiates. I understand heat radiates but it shouldnt get so hot you can burn yourself. What happens if children accidentally get close to the oven? I also dont understand why for a supposed high end oven, the temperature cant be maintained for more than a minute when the flame goes out before it reignites again. And since its cycling every minute no matter what temp you set it to and regardless if you leave the oven door closed for 2 hours (yes, we tested it with the door closed for 2 hours to make sure we werent losing heat from opening the door), it doesnt seem like the cycling is temperature related at all. When I call Viking, they tell me this is NOT normal and a repair person needs to come out to make adjustments. Theyve sent the same repair person twice who insists this is normal. I called again today and asked for a different company. The same person has been scheduled to come out tomorrow, wholl likely tell me again that this is what I have to get use to with this oven. This oven is a hazard. Youll either be afraid to use it or youll end up burning yourself or inhaling carbon monoxide fumes. I had to turn the oven off yesterday because I got a terrible headache from the fumes. I am writing this to advise everyone to not buy a Viking. Also, now it is documented that these issues existed in the event something bad happens.

I had a kitchen remodel and they installed the Viking range, and the unit itself was level front to back and side to side. But the cooking surfaces, which include the range top and the ovens, were not level. They dipped down in the front. I only noticed it when I was making Christmas morning breakfast and I was cooking pounds of bacon on the griddle that covers both the burners. All the grease was collecting in the front of the griddle, which is not safe. If I had not been paying attention, it would have overflowed into the front, right into the burner and cause a fire.I called Viking to state that I had this issue, and they sent one of their authorized service people to come out and look at it. The tech guy was by himself and he couldn’t do much. He fiddled around and then he left. I got a phone call a couple of weeks later that said, “Your case has been closed. There is nothing that can be done with your range. I went back to Viking and they were like, “We got a copy of the report and the report states that it’s an installation problem which is not our issue. You need to go back to whoever installed it.” When they came out to look at my range, my contractor was here. He was talking to the service man and said, “Everything is perfect. I followed all the instructions. Everything is laid out the way it’s supposed to be. Nothing is butting up against it.” It went back and forth and finally, I asked for another different authorized service company to come out. Before they came out, Viking called me and said, “This second opinion you’re getting is not covered.” The second service company came out, and they came out with two guys. The older gentleman looked at the range and said, “Your surface isn’t level.” They took care of it and now its level. He gave me my slip and I was like, “How much do I owe you?” He said, “We are charging Viking for this. It is their problem. You’re not paying for this.” Overall the Viking range is a wonderful thing to cook on when everything is okay. Up until recently, I was cooking for a very large family and boys eat a lot of food on a four-burner cooktop. Now I have an eight-burner range so I can cook to my heart’s content and not have to shuffle things around, shove them in the oven or put them in the grill. I got the range and it came with a microwave drawer which is wonderful. The only thing that I did not get was the range hood because they charge you for it and then they charge you for the fan motors separately.
