Viking refrigerator VCSB483DSS. Purchased this very costly unit in late 2008. The ice maker and water dispenser has failed many times, we had to pay to install a heater inside the unit to stop it from freezing. The motor that turns the ice maker has broken twice. The door hinge has been replaced twice. The ice drawer has split. The water pump has malfunctioned three times causing the entire interior of the freezer to freeze over and today another $425 to replace the touchpad thermostat. My floors are ruined from all the assorted leaks. Should have just bought a simple $900 refrigerator from Sears. We have spent $3000 on repairs. Total failure. Never again for Viking.

Given the quality and the value of the house and other appliances that were in it, it just figured that the house required the very best appliances. So, we got our refrigerator from Viking. Its good, without a doubt very consistent with the temperature and very spacious. However, there was frustration at the beginning because there was a bit of damage with the refrigerator from a delivery perspective, but they repaired it.

I wanted to get a very solid looking refrigerator, but it needed to fit in the existing space, which was a little tricky. I had a choice between Viking and one other. But I liked the way the Viking French door refrigerator looks, the layout, and the fact that it fit in the slot. The dealer has been excellent but they only delivered to the garage and they dont do the installation for liability reasons, at least from Mount Vernon location. So I had to hire someone to install the fridge. One issue that I find that in the refrigerator section is if Ive got lettuce or something near the back, the fridge will freeze it. So I just turned down the temperature in the refrigerator to see if that would do it and so far, its working fine. I like my Viking refrigerator - its very solid, looks well-made and has a nice warranty.

I have several friends who have Viking Ranges and they all have raved about it. I use it often at their lake houses, vacation homes, and homes. I purchased mine from Elite Appliances in Dallas and my personal contact was Jeff. He was the most responsive vendor I’ve ever worked with. He would follow up on a regular basis via email, phone call, and text messaging. I was very impressed with him. He really took me on as a very personal customer and he was very good about understanding what I really needed. I was buying five or six different Viking pieces which was a big order that I’m sure was small to him. The product quality is exceptional and the range itself is very sturdy and more commercial like.

We just got a Viking range installed. We liked the industrial look that Viking Ranges provides and then we found a decent deal through an appliance company so we made the purchase. The range is limited in terms of features. Its an on/off gas range and there wasnt even a timer on it. But, in a way, its also what we like because theres not a lot of technologies built into it.

We purchased our Viking 30 4 burner range in 2006 and have had to replace the spark ignition module three times in that period. It is a $180 part, and though it is easy to replace, it always results in a minimum service charge of $110 for the first hour. Adding it all up, thats nearly $600 in failed spark modules, adding significantly to the cost of an already-expensive oven range, but the worst thing is it is unreliable. You never know if it will fail the day before Thanksgiving or some other big event.

I went with Viking for their style and quality. However, the quality of the range that I bought from them is mediocre for what I paid. It cost $5,000 and it’s not really living up to it. The door is loose. It hasn’t worked properly and its slow to start sometimes. I had tried to rectify the door myself a few times and Viking did come out to rectify it. I called Viking and it was pretty good. I complained about the door and they were nice. But the dealers at Karl’s Appliance wasn’t so great. They’re sort of flakier. But I like the five burners. It’s the 30-inch stove. It fits the space. Those who come to my apartment love looking at it. They’re jealous. But that wasn’t what we were going for. We wanted a big stove/oven. Its the wider range, its freestanding. It gives you more capacity inside. It has three racks as opposed to just two. It would be better if Viking could extend the warranty. Mine’s good for like three years allegedly. And now, its only a year-long from what I hear which is sort of silly. Mine hit the cut-off date unless the seller offers included the warranty. My LG washer has a 10-year warranty. And it’s expensive to install and what have you. The result is expensive. This one is a $5,000 range and then, two, it’s expensive to just connect it and reconnect it with the new ones. Moreover, it would be better for it to have heat-resistant handles. When you’re cooking at a high temperature for a while, the knobs near the top front of the top of the space get really, really hot and they’re not supposed to. And the door is not supposed to get that hot, either. For instance, if youre cooking turkey for a long time. It takes three hours and it gets hot. They should work on that and get that fixed.

We got a slide in six-burner, dual-fuel Viking range, which I absolutely love. Its fantastic. I havent had any problems with it. The hood is great. I felt like the Viking was more substantial. It was a little bit better built. I tried the Wolf, and I felt like the knobs on the Wolf were not as solid. They felt more jiggly. The Viking range felt very solid. When I pushed it in and turned it in, its all super solid. Im very satisfied. It was a very expensive range, but it is fantastic.

I like Vikings BTUs and the way their ranges look. I like the price as well. I decided to buy a range from them and so far, Ive been loving it. Compared to the lower-end stove that I had, the BTUs really change the effectiveness especially of the convection oven. Before, when I would try to cook things in the oven, I had to work very hard to get the results that I get with the Viking. Also, their dealer was very good. There was a time when I had an issue with my hood and when I ordered it back for the stove that I didnt know how to put on, he called me back and talk me through the process. Exceptional.

We purchased a Viking D3-RDDFF23655, 12/10/12, all was fine until Nov. of 2015, when there was water leaking onto the bottom of the freezer, a water device was changed and cost us $333.36 (just out of the 3 year warranty). July of 2017, 5 years after purchase. Ice maker was not working, filtered water was not working correctly. Another repair bill of $840.26 to fix problem. We paid $2,800.00 and in just 5 years have had to pay another $1,173.62. Averaging over $270 a year. Based on reviews before we purchased this refrigerator, we had never expected such needed replacements and problems.

I want something sturdier and has more performance than what Im usually getting. I got Viking with the oven and its super sturdy. However, I also have the dishwasher and with both of them, I have some issues. Like with the range, one of the bars inside of the oven came loose. So, I had to wait for two months to get the part back and to service it. And the first dishwasher I got wasn’t starting, so I had to get another one. I was a little bit disappointed, especially for the price. Other than that, performance-wise, both the dishwasher and the range have been great. The dealer was also phenomenal. I couldn’t ask for better. They knew what Viking has on the website and were very knowledgeable. They knew their product. Every question that I had, they called me immediately, and if there was something they couldn’t answer they got back to me very, very quickly.

I do like my range so far. It heats my food which the oven is supposed to do. It feels sturdy, reliable and doesnt have a lot of bells, buttons and whistles. It looks as though it will do what its supposed to do for the next 20 years. My expectation is that because it is expensive, Im going to have it for a long time. It is easy to clean. Im not a big cook, but my understanding from people who do is that its important to have the temperature consistent inside of the oven. Thats one of the things that Viking is known for - even heating. So if ever I take up baking, Ill find that to be true.

The logistics company delivered my Viking refrigerator to my house and dropped it off in my living room. They pushed it into the wall because its one of those built-in wall units. They didnt connect it or they connected it but it wasnt right. There was this bottom metal piece that was supposed to be installed. I asked the guys if they were supposed to do that. They said they were not allowed to install those for liability purposes. I would have to get somebody to do it. It cost me almost $500 to have a Viking specialist come out and install it.When the specialists came out, they said, “Your refrigerator’s not even drilled to the wall. Because if its not, what can happen is if you open the door, the whole thing could tip over and could crush you.” The guy said they were gonna secure it, which they did. That was a pain, to begin with. The refrigerator side works fine. But we noticed that the icemaker was really slow from day one. We went back and forth with the Viking warranty people and Build.com where I purchased the refrigerator from. They sent somebody out to fix it four times. After the last time, it still wasnt working right. It never would produce over 20 ice cubes. Every time they would come out, they would tell me to give it 24 to 48 hours and I would have a big bin full of ice cubes. That never happened. We had family over and birthday parties. I had to go to 7-Eleven and grab a bag of ice and stick it in my freezer. After paying $15,000, that doesnt make me happy.Build.com replaced the ice maker and its still not working right. They apologized and they went ahead and ordered me a new refrigerator. But that refrigerator is not going to arrive until April 2022 so Im stuck with this thing. It’s beautiful but it doesn’t make ice and the motor is really loud. I could have bought a car for that price I paid for the refrigerator so I want it to work 100%. Viking has been around for many years and they have beautiful products. After I placed the order with them versus Wolf, I happened to go online and I did some research and there are actually lots of really bad reviews. Viking is the least recommended. I have many regrets. I hate my refrigerator. We had issues with our other Viking products too like our stove and dishwasher.

We had to replace our former slide-in in a rush because we were expecting holiday cooking soon. We purchased a Viking D3 after glowing reviews by our saleswoman. But the D3 has never worked right including a month after we purchased it. We had to cook the holiday turkey in the microwave, one part of the bird at a time. After contacting Viking, they sent out a certified repairman who had to order a part from Viking to make the oven usable. That took two weeks. From then on, the temps seemed to be accurate (we had to buy a hanging oven thermometer to tell), but the oven took forever to heat up. Even then, we couldnt cook anything then or now other than one item at a time and have it cook in the desired time. There are three racks in the oven... the instructions even show and explain how to cook using the three racks at once. However, the oven temps will not support using all three racks. We are also dissatisfied with the five upper burners. The center burner can only be used if the cooking pot/skillet is smaller than the large burner size indicates IF you are trying to use the other four surrounding burners simultaneously. You either use the four outside burners OR you use the large center one, but not all five at once due to size of the cooking containers. I am so disappointed. I wish I had purchased a low-end quality stove. This one sure isnt it. DO NOT BUY A VIKING APPLIANCE!!!!!

We bought this range 10 years ago, brand new for $6000. We have had it repaired by Viking authorized dealers 4 times over the years for $500 each time. All problems were electric failures. I wrote to Viking the first time it broke, (on Thanksgiving no less), after owning it for 18 months, and they never responded. They have poor customer service and do not stand behind what they sell. Our range has broken again and were done with it. Well be selling it on offer up. I would advise never buying a Viking product.

One of the selling points of the home we just bought was that it had Viking appliances, and weve had nothing but trouble from them. Ive been calling since the beginning of December. I was told that the earliest appointment anyone could come to see our freezer was January 18th, but no one has called to confirm that with me. Someone is supposed to be coming. We keep kosher as part of our dietary restrictions and our meat is rather expensive. Weve had to throw out hundreds of dollars of meat because every night, my freezer stops being cold and goes up to 7,8,9, 10 degrees above freezing so it all thaws. Every morning, I have to put on max freeze. I would much prefer to have my GE stuff at my old house any day of the week. Also, their customer service has been terrible and its a bad product overall.

My Viking dishwasher is terrible, but my oven has been great. It has been perfect and I love it. I like the looks of it too. I can set most of the pots and pans on there without them being crowded. Its sturdy and Ive really enjoyed it. I don’t necessarily know how to clean out the vented area and that’s the depressing stuff that I don’t like about it. On the other hand, my dishwasher is like an expensive drying rack and Viking doesn’t know when theyre going to get the parts to me. I would love it if it works just like the oven did. Our countertops are being replaced, so I have nowhere to wash dishes right now. The other thing is when I tried to register my appliances online. It was just really weird. For whatever reason, the model numbers that are on the appliances has to be entered differently. I had to call in the center because there was one too many numbers are not enough but their staff was super nice.

I bought stove of my dreams in 1997 after waiting decades to be able to afford it. It is a Viking 6 burner/with griddle (which I wish I hadnt gotten), double gas ovens. Since day one the ovens smell like gas while on. I have to run my ventilator while the oven is on to keep the odor under control. I have had several repair men, always changing the igniters. The part is $16.00 on Amazon by the way. I pay a lot more than that! Anyway it has never fixed the problem. It makes me think twice about using the oven as I have to listen to the noise of the vent for hours if I choose to bake or roast anything. I am truly disappointed with this range and after reading all of the other reviews realize that Im not alone. I would never recommend any Viking product. I wish I had never gotten with this stove. My first choice was Wolfe, and I was talked out of it and into Viking!

Weve had our Viking for years now since we renovated our kitchen. I love the look of it as well as the induction cooktop. It is incredible. But in the last year, we spent thousands of dollars on getting both the panels of our induction cooktops replaced. The guy that I called at Viking was awesome and he helped get it through. That one was covered under warranty. But there was a stocktake that happened right before Thanksgiving and Viking shut down for it. That meant that parts didn’t ship for weeks and weeks. Who shuts down a cooking warehouse for stocktake the week before Thanksgiving? It’s the most important food holiday in the entire country. What kind of management decision was that? It was insane. We didn’t get the part for our range until after Thanksgiving. We got the first side fixed just before Christmas. And then about three months ago, the other one went out and. That wasn’t under warranty anymore and that cost us over $1,300. The same thing happened with the part too. The guy gave the part but Viking sent the wrong one. The guy came and installed it, but it didn’t work. He then got another part. It came back and it still wasn’t working. He finally figured out that time that they sent the wrong part. The guy came back a third time. It was like a complete saga. I had to be home four times to get the second side fixed. Viking range is incredibly expensive. We probably could’ve bought a range for a third of the price. I expected this thing to last for 30 years and not have a problem with it. But since these induction panels started going out, it had been a nightmare. The other one that was replaced under warranty the other day is doing something funky. We have to keep an eye on it because it has a 12-month warranty on it. Also, my understanding from the text is that there are only a couple of companies in the world that make induction boards. Whatever products you buy, you’re basically getting the same induction board in there. And this one is the best. But it still seems like there are some issues with the technology. At this point in time, it’s been very disappointing overall. You don’t expect to pay for a top-of-the-line range to have to then deal with this repeatedly. When the range is working, it’s wonderful. I love it! I just don’t love that it keeps breaking and it cost me a fortune to get it fixed. It is unacceptable. The interesting thing is the company we’ve been dealing, Appliance Pros, has been pretty great although it was frustrating having to call and be told that Viking was shut down or the part was not yet shipped. We felt bad for the guy who came and fixed the last issue we had. He made four visits for one repair that could have been done in two visits. Im dissatisfied with Viking.

When we came in, the refrigerator was brand-new, but the ice maker wasnt making any ice. We thought it was still under warranty, then it wasnt because the warranty started when the builder finished the property, and we purchased it eight months later, then we came in several months after that, so it had been over a year. But then, Viking went ahead and sent someone out and fixed it. They said to make sure that its on vacation mode and the levers up for the ice so we did that. We were there during the summer and we came back for Thanksgiving and it was not working again. It was apparently something a little bit more major. But I love its double doors and where the freezer is at the bottom, and then it has the little buttons on the side with all the temperatures control. We also had a bit of an issue with the dishwasher too. But that was fixed. Were just waiting on a part. Overall, were very satisfied with Viking.

The range is expensive, but you get what you pay for. So, Im very happy. I love the grill top. The Viking range works great, but it doesnt have a couple of key features. There are two things that I would love to see incorporated into the range. One, theres no clock, which makes me a little bit crazy because I’m obsessed with time sometimes. Two, being able to program the oven. Theres no programming feature. With the old oven I had, you could put something in the oven and program it to start baking in an hour or two hours. The range is a professional system and it’s designed for professional kitchens. So maybe some of those retail-oriented features dont come in that model. But it would be good if it did.

Viking 36 inch convection range. I prefer gas but we dont have that option, so I went with the electric convection model. I chose Viking because of their reputation. I am not a fan of this range. The 36 inch range has four burners with the smallest burners in the front. The right side burners can be used as a single cooking zone, but the heat isnt consistent. All of the burners adjust the temperature throughout cooking which I suppose is a good feature unless youre trying to boil water. The oven is noisy even without the convection. The oven is self cleaning but it takes 8 hours to go through the cycle! Make sure your installer is familiar with Viking. Ours was not. He was there all day trying to get the range installed, and we had to have a technician back immediately to make adjustments. The range is nothing special for the money. It isnt cheap or cheap looking, but I have had much less expensive ranges that I liked better than this one. I find this range very frustrating to work with. The 36 inch, ceramic top convection model ran about $5000. Its self cleaning, assuming you have the 8 hours needed. The middle rack in the oven glides beautifully which avoids spilling of quiches, souffles, etc. The features I find the least appealing are the ceramic top and the tiny burners in the front. The ceramic is impossible to keep clean and the small burners dont heat the pan evenly. Also, the knobs dont lock into place, so you constantly have to check the settings. The burners self regulate, so the burner will reduce the heat throughout cooking. This becomes very frustrating if you are trying to boil water. Gas is probably more consistent. The oven seems small. The racks do not cook evenly, so you cant use all three simultaneously. I cant tell any difference between convection and non-convection cooking except convection is louder.

My dishwasher has not been working since the beginning of July 2013 despite 4 visits by a tech and numerous phone calls to the extended warranty company and Viking. It was also repaired in 2010 and 2011. My refrigerator is also on its third repair and is failing to keep a consistent temperature... It is either freezing food or else keeping food in the 40-42 degree range. These are marketed as Professional appliances and certainly do not live up to this reputation. I discourage all consumers from purchasing Viking appliances... They come with a hefty price tag and leave the consumer frustrated, disillusioned and dissatisfied.

We have a Viking stove and an oven as well. Then, we were shopping around for a new stove and we really liked our Viking stove. They stopped selling Viking up here in Canada and when we bought the stove, it was just at the point when Viking lost that trademark. We were looking for a stove that didn’t have a lot of sort of electronics but would be really a good gas stove. It’s an electric oven and that would stand the test of time. The salesperson really highly recommended the stove and she was right. We love it. Then, when it came time to replace our fridge, we just naturally leaned towards looking for a fridge that had the same quality. We were lucked out that the timing was such that they started selling Viking again here in Canada.I love the icemaker that’s in the pullout drawer. We didn’t think we wanted any kind of an icemaker or a water dispenser but this one came with the ice dispenser inside and we love that. We use it all the time. And I love the layout of the drawers on the inside, the flexibility with being able to move the shelves around. I love that the shelves are glass. They’re clear so I can see through into them. Also, there are lots of space in the bottom and there’s like a pullout temperature control drawer that holds lots and lots of fruits and vegetables in there. They’re smartly designed and its a really nice fridge. One thing that would be great would be if it was easier for us to get our hands on the replacement water filters and the air filters. Its a little bit of a challenge. They have to get ordered from the States and then they go to the appliance store. It takes a long time. Other than that, I would highly recommend Viking.

We’ve known about Viking Refrigerators for years and never thought to buy one until we did a renovation in our kitchen. The quality and the warranty made us choose them. We bought it through Best Buy and it went okay. It’s a French door and we like its accessibility. Plus, we love its quality.

I purchased a 6 burner range with a grill in the middle. The center started to sag. I called the authorized service person in my area and he said he had installed a kit to fix the problem that Viking provided but that it wouldnt be free because my unit was no longer under warranty. He said the center grill wasnt properly supported so over time it sagged with heat or pressure. I complained to Viking because this was a defect they knew about. First excuse: they said they couldnt help because my unit wasnt properly registered even though the matching fridge was. I provided proof of purchase (original receipt) so they registered my unit. Second excuse: there was no kit ever produced perhaps because so few people complained. I said a manufacturing defect is a defect. They should fix it even if only one complained. I mentioned the repairman had fixed the problem for others and gave them his contact info. They said they would follow up but never did.

Ive heard of Viking for years because my son-in-law builds very high-end homes, and I know that at times they use Viking appliances. We bought our Viking refrigerator through Best Buy, and the reps there were fabulous. This fridge was on display at Best Buy when I was there. The reps said that normally Viking refrigerators arent on the Best Buy floor, but this fridge had been returned because it had a slight dent in it and the customer wouldnt accept it. One of the big reasons that I bought this fridge was the counter depth, and that was key. We ordered our Viking refrigerator back in October, but weve been under construction all this time and we just finally got it put in. Weve only been using it for about three weeks to a month. The quality of the fridge that we got is good. I like the brightness and how the doors open very fully. However, the only complaint I have right now with it is about the ice in the container in the freezer. Sometimes, the container overfills and when you open it, it pops the ice out down into the bottom. Nevertheless, I had a good experience overall with Viking.

The refrigerator keeps food cold.

We live far out so it was hard to find a Viking dealer. The closest to us was three hours away. But the dealer we had was very accommodating. He gave us all the information we needed. We bought a stove and it was challenging to setup because we did it ourselves. Getting the gas connected in the back was difficult. It was in a hard to reach location so unless one has the right tools, it was hard to do from a laymans perspective. We finally called somebody in to do it for us.My husband said that the grills over the burners are big. You have to balance a small pan on it but it has worked. Ive done it and it seems sturdy. The stove works well and I like that its just a basic range. It holds the heat for me which, my other stove gave up on. It doesnt have all the computer parts, which is what our other stove gave us issues with. The motherboard in the other gas range we had went out three times and it was very frustrating.

Ive known Viking for decades. They were offering a rebate on the refrigerator so I went with them. I also had a free refrigerator and the range hood with blower, which made my purchase more enticing. Without them, I might have bought the unit from Sub-Zero and Wolf. I bought it from the Better Housekeeping over in Red Bank and the people I have dealt with were great. But the unit has a poor design and if I had to do it again, I will not purchase this refrigerator. The spring on one of the doors has a sound and the ice tray was poorly made because on the first week I pulled it out and the handle snapped right off. The magnet of the butter tray on top isnt good and every time I pull the refrigerator, if I have a stick of butter inside, it falls out. Also, compared to a regular KitchenAid, which are the deeper refrigerators, Viking units are more counter depth, so in terms of storage there isn’t a lot of cubic feet in there to use. With my particular model, there are four trays for produce and those trays are much smaller so I can’t really put a lot of stuff in there.I also have the Professional Series for the oven, which is the one with the French door. Even though it’s a beautiful look, it’s really stupid that it’s said to be self-cleaning but because there’s no latch for the French doors, it’s not the same kind of self-cleaning at the lower oven. It’s just like a steam clean kind of effect and stuff like grease doesnt come off. I also already had a problem with our blower on the fan where it was making a lot of noise and I’ve already had a service call on it. So to spend what I totally paid, which is at $25,000 for my entire kitchen, I really shouldn’t be expecting or experiencing problems like these within the first year. These are high-end products, and it’s a professional series, so it’s very disappointing.

The first problem I had with my range is the oven taking forever to preheat. Then an incessant clicking began on the burners. I was lucky enough to purchase a repair contract for $65.00 for a year. They fixed the oven preheating problem and also fixed the clicking problem, but now it has began again. It is so annoying. My burners do work, but I want to scream sometimes when I am trying to use all of the burners.

We renovated our entire kitchen through P.C. Richards and we purchased Viking through them for our cooking range and I like the look of it. I was supposed to contact them because of two things. One is I was very disappointed aftermarket that I couldnt get a grill pan. We have a lot of company in our summer house and we cook a lot of eggs and bacon. I want a grill like the grill top that I could just put on. I called when we first got the range last year and they said theyll be coming out with it. I called again this year and they still havent. The second thing is one of the burners got defective. It leaks, so we cant use them. It shoots up flames that could cause a fire. When you put it on low and then high, there are flames that really come out of it. But, other than that, were very happy with our Viking Range.

Viking Model VCBB536ELSS has been a nightmare. This is an $8,000 refrigerator. Constant ice buildup. Finally, it died completely after many visits from repairman trying to thaw the back of the unit out and replacing motors. Viking agreed to replace for free. They even extended the warranty for me because it was 8 months of dealing with this nightmare. I have had the new one since November 2020 and the SAME THING IS HAPPENING again!! We purchased from a Viking dealer and the refrigerator is competitive with others in the price range. They came within five days after I ordered. It was a pretty good delivery and they didn’t do any damage when they came to the house. However, its hard to set up a service with them. They need better customer service availability, like on weekends. We’re happy with the overall quality, however, its easily scratched and stained with oily fingerprints. They have a beautiful stove ring and some of the pieces that we were thinking about were on display which helped to be able to open the doors and look in and see some of the new features. Bought Viking double oven, cooktop and dishwasher March, 2018. After opening the items, the oven and the dishwasher were damaged. They were heavily damaged with dents so deep that there were holes. After weeks of complaints, numerous talk with customer service rep, I am still nowhere. About a month ago, I was finally granted a replacement for both of them. (Even though the entire time, so, the last 4 months I was told that the parts are arriving). Now, today, Sept, 5, I decided to call and make an official complaint against Viking dept handling my case. A person called TONY, said he could help. After he realized that I want to file a complaint, he started avoiding the issue. I asked for a supervisor and these were his answers: none is available, they are all in a meeting. I could hear laughter in the background. He started mocking me as well. I asked for an email of any supervisor and he said that he is not authorized to give out their emails!!! I still cannot believe the disrespect shown towards a customer. Complete lack of professionalism as well. If I had known that this is going to happen, I would have never bought Viking. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING VIKING RANGE.

The quality of the service from Viking is pretty good and their reps have been great. On the very top of the refrigerator door where you put the butter, it has these little flimsy plastic doors that hang over. When you shut the refrigerator, the plastic doors open and the butter comes out. Viking could make those a little bit more stationary or stick more. I also had to have someone come because the ice maker wasnt working. But the problem was they could only come and service our house on Tuesdays and Thursdays but wed be at work. So its hard to have someone come out to service the ice maker. They were great about getting to send someone out but I had to cancel it because I thought I was going to be able to have someone here. The refrigerator is usually good. I also liked the size our refrigerator. We’re a little disappointed that it broke and to have a repair so quickly after moving in. My mom has a Viking range and I really like it. It’s bigger than 36-inch and she uses it when everyone comes over for Christmas and Easter. It just works so well. It would boil a pot of water within minutes which was way different than when I boil a pot of water on just a conventional oven. I felt like I was waiting for 20 minutes. So, I got one too and we really liked it. However, I got a replacement because for three years that weve had it, the door would fall off every three months and Viking couldn’t fix it. A whole slew of things happened throughout the first six months that led to more things, and it just broke. I asked Viking to replace it because it was not repairable and they’ve already repaired it 12 times. So finally, I got a new version of what I had bought and it’s working. I didn’t get to use the oven as much as I wanted to, but when I did, the convection was also one of the features that I wanted Viking for, and the self-clean which I really love. The cooktop is strong and it has a different side burners. The one at the back for simmer and then I have the oval one for a grill effect. The design is really nice. It’s low in the back which is basic to turn it on and clean it, and that’s all I have. The dealer was so sweet and she worked so hard with me. I had a lot of anxiety with my range and the appliance guy said, “You’re really lucky that you’ve got this replaced. No one gets a replacement.” It’s a $5,000 purchase and every time their techs would come out, it would be $200 just to assess it and it’s a high price to pay. So, to those who wanted to buy a Viking, they have to have some money to back it up if something goes wrong. They can’t just have it under warranty at Sears because Sears doesn’t cover a high-end appliance like Viking.

I am writing to publicly declare I could not be more disappointed in the 4 Viking appliances my family has purchased. I have the 48” duel fuel range in my home. Both ovens are now not working after using the self clean features on both ovens. I am very upset. The fault is with the Viking appliance company. The cost of the repair should not be my burden. I would never recommend this brand to any of my friends. The one positive thing I have to say is that the range is beautiful. My brother’s family have 2 exterior refrigerators and an exterior ice maker both from Viking. Each appliance has required multiple repairs yearly. It is infuriating to spend so much money for a professional brand we trusted, that fails repeatedly. It’s a bitter disappointment to walk outside and not be able to have a cold drink with a glass of ice waiting for you, after investing so much money. Furthermore, the repairs were expensive and repeatedly done by certified Viking repairmen, using Viking parts. The fact that Viking cannot effectively repair their faulty product is pathetic. The Viking company should replace all these appliances free of charge if they are to have any integrity at all.

I used to work in the restaurant biz and I’ve heard about Viking for a long time. I knew it was gonna be a good stove oven and I liked the way it looked. I keep on telling everybody it’s like my whole life I’ve been driving a beat up Datsun and now I’m driving a Volvo or Rolls-Royce. You can just feel how the quality is and it’s excellent. Also, I like its sturdiness, the rollout shelves, the LED lighting over the little controls, the handles and everything about it. My husband was good with Viking. He is a contractor and he did the installation. My plumber had roughed out the gas line, according to the install directions, and then when the actual oven showed up, you couldn’t install where that gas line was. My husband called Viking and explained the problem about their drawings. That went well but we had to move the gas line which was not great. Still, people should go for Viking Ranges. It’s an expense and it’s gonna be more expensive but it was the biggest choice I had to make. The Viking Range in our house has been in it longer than we have and weve been here for maybe four years but its pretty good. I got it serviced last Friday to make sure all the parts are working in order and for the most part, everything is working fairly well. I like the griddle part of the range because its fairly easy to use and clean. The whole range is easy to clean because everything pops off fairly easy. Im not a neat freak but its nice to be able to get all the food out of the crevices. Also, cooking on it is fairly easy. But, I cant get the temperature low enough. The low feature is too hot and when I simmer, I cant seem to get close enough to it without igniting the pilot light again. For example, usually with rice, you put on a low simmer and the low setting is just still too hot for it. Also, I dont know if this would interfere with the flame but we have a gas stove and an overhead exhaust and it would be nice to have the exhaust where the oven outtake is. Because instead of having an exhaust over the food, it would just be more on the same plane as the food. Its also nice to not have the fan on because its so loud when Im cooking and I feel like Im in a wind tunnel. But other than those, the functionality of the stove is quite useful. The dual oven is also pretty nice but its cavity cant fit a turkey. You have the three-inch roasting pin, the elevation to that and then you have the bird which has a big breadth to it so Im not able to put it in the oven. But, for the most part, its pretty nice with the conduction and all those features. Then, we have an industrial professional grade, so its raised off the floor a good three inches. You could use that to gain more cavity space. In addition, we have a little warming oven to the side and the width of that is too narrow but the height on it is perfect. I would like it a little bit wider for most dishes and sheet pans.I think its very reliable and very consistent. However, my husband said that if he had his wishes, he wouldnt buy a Viking range again, but he doesnt cook and he doesnt get into the kitchen at all. I think its because its such a big piece of equipment but the actual components of it are very small. Wolf is what he really liked and the dial controls are a lot more flexible based on what youre cooking and the cavity is much bigger. But I would say some positives with Viking is that the cooktop space of the range is very open. I have a lot of big pans but Im able to put two big pans side-by-side without having problems. Also, I can put a small pan on top and not feel like its being swallowed up by the burner.

Refrigerator Model VCFF136DSS2. Almost four years old and of course the warranty runs out 6 months ago. Started two years ago with the water filter holder. The cover for the filter has a clip that breaks easily. Viking store sold me a replacement and it broke within six months. I drilled a hole in the front and put a screw into the frame and it works great. Our biggest problem now is the fridge quit working. Only the lights work. Viking said to replace the front computer board. $922 and two weeks later that did not work. Now Viking does not know how to fix it? Local repairman asked me to call Customer Relations. My husband enjoys cooking. We were looking at other ranges all around the same price and we found Viking. It was on sale at the store and we were saving a couple of thousand bucks. So far, it seems it has a good quality. I like the blue light that lights up the knobs. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to see what I’m doing. I also like the way the racks inside the oven slide nicely. The sales rep was friendly. But after the purchase was made my husband had a few questions, and they weren’t so quick to talk to him or call him back like they were before the purchase. Also, I find it odd that it doesn’t have a self-cleaning oven. When I turn the burners on they don’t always ignite and burn evenly the way I would expect them to. I do the baking and seeing that it’s Christmas, I’ve been making cookies that I can only bake in the middle rack. It’s funny because in all the advertisements they show a door opens full of all kinds of goodies on all three levels, and I can’t cook that way. I have the middle rack and that’s it. Anything on top or bottom burns. And they’re not removable racks, except for the middle one. The top and the bottom are on roller slide, that’s why they move so easily. I can’t just pull it out and move it up or down.

Where do I begin. 4 and half years ago, we remodeled our home and bought Viking appliances which we have been very happy with EXCEPT for the horrible, horrible dishwasher. It has NEVER worked properly, EVER. So much so that after 2 years, I got Viking to replace it with a new one and its still doesnt work well. It spontaneously starts beeping, non-stop, the cycle takes FOREVER. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it. A friend recommended to get a less expensive one, stainless steel but that will work better. Thats all from me.... Grrr.

We chose Viking because we just built a house and we wanted all the appliances to be the same. And we’ve made contact with an appliance company and they had a package with the three - the oven, dishwasher and refrigerator. The quality of the appliances is terrible. It was absolutely horrendous and we would never recommend, per our experience, Viking appliances again. We had three, now we have two Viking appliances, which caused an astronomical amount, and every one of the three appliances had defects and issues. We are superiorly disappointed in the quality of the appliances for the amount that they cost. The hinges are broken on our range. They had to replace the fan on our oven. The latch on the dishwasher is broken. The door was damaged. They had to replace the door on our dishwasher. I don’t know if that happened in shipping or not, on the dishwasher. But all three of our appliances have had issues. Our refrigerator was so bad that they had to take it out and replace it with a different brand completely. Our Viking fridge had a stainless finish and it looked like dimples on a golf ball on all the doors. They replaced them three different times, and every single time that they replaced them, it was the same exact thing. It’s definitely a defect in manufacturing. What happens is that they spray the foam insulation in there, and when it dries, it adheres to all over on the stainless steel backing and it sucks it in and it makes it look dimpled like a golf ball. They came out and replaced the doors three different times. They got the Viking representative involved and they said, “We’re gonna send you brand new ones from the factory.” When they came and installed them, those ones looked worse than the ones before. The appliance company felt so bad that they said, “We’re going to replace your Viking Refrigerator with a GE Café.” And that refrigerator is absolutely beautiful.

The dealer, Mario, did an awesome job of telling us all the benefits. We ended up going with Viking because he said that they stood behind their product and he had never heard complaints from anyone. That was the bottom line where we ended up buying 30 some thousand dollars of equipment there from Best Buy. I bought an entire kitchen of Viking. We have a microwave, a wine cooler, the gas range and the hood. So, all we need is a ship now to be a complete Viking. The Viking refrigerator is good although some of the soft close drawers on the bottom of the refrigerator dont exactly soft close but Im not gonna go crazy over that as much as that thing cost us. I also had some issues with the icemaker but we got that resolved and it was more of a connection issue. We had some issues with our dishwasher and we had to have it replaced. Also, I’m disappointed that the French oven doors didnt seal correctly. But other than that, they look fine. Were working through the service folks that Viking recommended to us and right now, Im still waiting for those. But so far, Im very happy.

I’m from Mississippi and Viking is a local company. I chose it ‘cause I could get the full suite in the same brand, the fridge, range, dishwasher, and door microwave. The appliances are well-built and the appearance is good. The fridge, dishwasher and microwave have been okay, but I’ve had a few issues with the stove. There’s something on it thats supposed to be wiped off when installed and that wasn’t done, so the front of the stove rusted between the opening of the oven and the top of the range where the control knobs are at. Also, the igniter gave a little issue one time and my oven quit in the middle of cooking a strawberry cake.I was without an oven for over a week before they came to fix it and my other complaint is the response time on getting the warranty repairs completed, but some of that is not in Viking’s control. It’s the repair facility picking it up. The appliance repair company came and cleaned the thermal cut on the system. If it quits again, the igniter would need to be replaced. There were a few minor issues, but I’m pleased and satisfied overall.

The temperature is always spot on even with the abuse of my 4 children going in and out for drinks. We love the LED interior lighting and heavy duty door rails on the drawers. We own a built-in Viking refrigerator that was manufactured in 2013. Over the past year, its plastic bins have started to disintegrate spontaneously. Nothing was abused or overstuffed. So far the following have fallen apart: (1) The pull for the ice drawer. (2) Three bins in the refrigerator door. (3) All bins in the freezer door, although two have lost pieces but the damaged bins havent yet fallen out. (4) The clear front of the deli drawer has cracked. (5) The clear top of the chiller drawer at the bottom of the refrigerator has fallen off.Obviously without the bins the refrigerator is nearly useless, unless one uses only its floor, and the wire shelves in the freezer which appear to have survived. Viking quoted a replacement cost for all these plastic items that would run more than $2000. To put this in perspective, a month ago I paid $650 for the 21 cu-ft GE refrigerator in my garage. I had to buy it partly because the Viking could hold less and less.We called Viking and were told that the refrigerator is out of warranty. When I asked the rep if he had ever heard of all the plastic disintegrating 6-7 years into the life of the unit, he said he had. When I asked if this was typical, he said it wasnt. When I suggested that our unit may have been manufactured with a bad batch of plastic and that Viking should take some responsibility to replace it, he said that they will not.In the past I have used a Kitchenaid built-in, GE, Whirlpool, Amana. In the early years I even bought used refrigerators from previous homeowners or used old ones in rental houses. Never have I seen bins crack and disintegrate as if this were timed to bring in another injection of revenue to Viking 6 to 7 years after the sale. Viking is not a low-cost brand that is trimming pennies on their product to lower the sale price; they position themselves as a high-end luxury brand. Whatever happened to reliability, durability, and pride in the brand?

We liked the people we bought our refrigerator from and they recommended Viking Refrigerators. We were going to go with Sub-Zero but they steered us in this direction. However, our Viking freezer keeps breaking down on us and we have a lot of ice forming at the bottom. Weve had, at least, four service calls and were due for another one cause more ice is accumulating at the bottom part of the freezer. Having people service a call has been a huge inconvenience cause I have to be there. The window of opportunity is like from 12:00 to 4:00. Service guys are sent out here which is great and the freezer works when it gets fixed, but I wouldnt recommend this appliance to anybody else.

I purchased close to $30,000 of Viking appliances. I bought two under cabinet refrigerators, wine coolers, a cooktop, a built-in microwave, and built-in oven, but never had a problem with them. The main problem was the refrigerator as it constantly broke down. We were very dissatisfied with it. We had to contact their technician three times to come out and fix the problem. But their repair guys were always good. They came with the knowledge of what the problem is and they fixed it. We also had a very bad experience with their dealer Pacific Sales at Best Buy in San Jose. They kept blowing me off even if I purchased extended warranty. I feel I could get the same type of quality or use out of something that wouldn’t have cost me as much. The ranges door, which has been loose for a long time, could be improved. When I renovated my kitchen in 2007, I purchased the Viking Professional Series dishwasher, fridge and gas top stove. IVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH ALL OF THEM. After spending $11,000.00+ for these three appliances (that came highly recommended by the salesperson at a large, high end appliance store), I expected a good quality product to don my newly renovated dream kitchen... WHAT A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT!!!Initially, the appliances all Sat in their boxes until my kitchen renovation was completed about 6 months after my purchases. Several months after installing the appliances, the DISHWASHER broke... the water would not drain properly. Viking repair man fixed, then happened again about a year later. I asked Viking rep to replace product since same issue was re-occurring and appeared to be a pre-existing problem. I was told no; that since the dishwasher was still under warranty they would send another repair man. Fixed again... then same thing happened again within a year... except now (even though they Sat unopened in boxes first the 6 months) the warranty was over.I was told the diverter valve needed replaced, and it would cost over $600.00 to repair!!! I was beside myself, I called Viking and said this was ridiculous since this was a pre-existing problem and I should not have to pay for repair. Well we all know their response... Cant help as no longer under warranty. A frightening and dangerous feature of the GAS STOVE TOP is the design of the on/off knobs. I am all of 110 lbs, and sometimes when I lean forward to stir a pot on a back burner, the pressure from my body will actually turn the flame from the front burner on!!! Also, periodically when I turn one burner on, one of the burners that is off will make a clicking noise. The REFRIGERATOR water dispenser broke after the first year. Later had troubles with the ice maker bar getting stuck in the on position, and more recently the clear plastic on the large pull out drawer cracked. Finally, the other day the refrigerator just stopped working - like it went into a defrost mode - ruined all frozen foods, and most of the refrigerated items. I called the store where I purchased the Vikings to see if maybe the refrigerator was still under warranty - they said no. I mentioned all the troubles I have had with these products, and the sales representative said they stopped carrying Viking products. I think that says it all!!!The repairman came, said it was the poorly designed freon line which was directed into a drip pan (for cooling purposes) causing the line to rust/corrode, and consequently leak the freon. He was surprised to see this since he said, running the line in this manner was stopped years ago. The repair was estimated at $600.00 to replace the line, but possibly $1000.00+ if other related problems were found. The repair man said probably better to cut my losses and go with a more reliable refrigerator like GE, Kenmore or Whirlpool - rather than throwing good money after bad. Like many I want to repair since cheaper than buying new... but based on reading these postings, and past repair experiences... Im afraid of getting burned once again. Being stuck between a rock and a hard place. :(I would NEVER, ever recommend buying these overly expensive appliances built with their cheap parts, and poor design features. I feel like I spent a lot of money and never received a good return on my hard earned dollars. Should be illegal. Guy who mentioned a class action suit may be on to something.

I bought a Viking Range for the size because I had a very limited space on my counter. I thought it was a good brand but Im disappointed. They have all this gas power but if you spill anything on the ceramics and the top, it’s a major disaster. If by accident you spill oil or water, you need to burn yourself and clean the stove immediately. It gets marked very easily. Im a cook so it’s crazy. Im completely shocked. I Googled what to use to clean it and everybody is complaining that it’s ridiculous that you spend so much money and you can’t clean the stove afterwards. No water, or anything because it will leave a mark.

As a very dissatisfied and disappointed Viking customer, I would never recommend the product to anyone. I have often said to anyone who listens that our Viking kitchen appliances was the worst purchase we ever made. We have had more repairmen here to work on the highly touted Viking appliances in the last 6 years than in our entire 40-year history of home/appliance ownership. It is a joke. We are currently waiting for the Viking repairman once again to come fix the refrigerator to hopefully stop the leaking that is damaging our hardwood floor. If I was independently wealthy, I would throw them all away; but Im not. We made what we thought was a wise investment that would last us through retirement. Im sure we will end up replacing all at some point when Ive lost all my patience. If I do a Pinterest, it would be labeled Stay away from Viking far, far away. There are much better, more reliable, less expensive products. Viking beauty is only skin deep.

A friend of mine owned a Viking range and I thought that I just had to have it. I like to cook and Viking was a higher end range. And since I was building a house, I had to get it now because I won’t be able to get it later on. I went to Cowboy’s Kitchens in Ridgeland and everybody was very accommodating. When I had a problem with one of the ignitions on one of the burners that wouldn’t light, they sent a repair personnel who replaced a part. They were efficient and Ive been happy with everybody. I love mt range too and I want to get the griddle that goes in the middle. Were barely 60 days in and Im looking forward to experimenting with my range. Im still tinkering with it and have learned that it cooks much faster than other ranges so it is more efficient and saves time.

I am very disappointed with Viking. I purchased a Viking Dishwasher (Model VDB450SS, Serial No. 081910D00018347) for my home and subsequently registered the product. I was never notified of a fire hazard recall on my unit (Recall date: April 10, 2012; Recall number: **) which states [c]onsumers should immediately stop using the recalled dishwashers and contact Vikings hotline for a free in-home repair. I discovered the recall on or about January 25, 2016, when my units electrical circuit ceased operation and I inquired about service. Thankfully no fire. I called the recall hotline, (800) 241-7239, was assigned Customer ID No. **, and was promised a repair kit would be delivered to my home within 15 business days. On March 1, 2016, I call back to the hotline to report that the repair kit still had not arrived, and I was advised that the issue was escalated and that another kit would be sent because they could not trace the 1st one. On March 24, 2016, I again called the hotline because no repair kit has been received. I was told that the company answering the hotline reported the matter to Viking and while I was placed on hold, they tried without success to reach Viking. I left my cell number and demanded a call back. The failure of Viking to timely address the recall is unacceptable. My family of 4 has been without a dishwasher for 2 months now.

I’ve known about Viking Ranges forever. I felt that it had everything that I needed at the price point that I could afford. I wanted a Wolf because everybody has a Wolf and raves about it. But I thought that it was out of my price range. I wondered where could I get something of equal quality but without all the bells and whistles, which was why I bought a basic Viking range with no electronics, just the straight goods. We dealt with Trail Appliance and liked them very much. The salesman there had the very same Viking range and was really positive about it. They also offered a free set of pots and pans once you bought your Viking range, but I’ve contacted them twice, and nobody has gotten back to me about it. That bothered me. We went to a local Best Buy store looking for appliances and chose to buy Viking over other competitors because of the quality and the customer reviews that we had seen online. Best Buy assured us that because they sell the product, they were associated with Pacific Sales which sells Viking. They went ahead and did what they could to earn our business and matched the price that weve had gotten at our local friends appliance. They beat it by $500.However, it was probably the worst purchasing experience I have ever gone through. We purchased it on September 6 and by the week of Thanksgiving, we received part of our purchase which were the refrigerator, the microwave, the dishwasher, and the range. The people who installed the refrigerator broke the handles and dented the doors so they had to replace those. The double oven showed up totally damaged. The entire front looks like it have been dropped. It was mangled and we couldnt even open the doors. We refused delivery on it so that they would take it back and get us a new one.We had spoken with Best Buy and Pacific Sales numerous times and they had given us the name and number of the Viking rep who serviced that door. The Viking sales rep assured us that everything would be taken cared of but she stopped returning my husbands call. We got our range that was damaged about five weeks ago and it was installed but about a week later, it had an F3 error on the bottom oven. So now we are waiting for the local rep because I did an online service call and they sent the information to the local person to fix them. They were scheduled to come yesterday but they didnt come. Now, theyre scheduled to come sometime this afternoon. It has been a bad experience from start to finish. Outside of the purchase itself and the fact that we finally got the oven with some sort of an error wouldnt have been a big deal if we hadnt waited almost eight months for it to arrive. It wouldnt have been such a terrible experience as far as Viking is concerned, but I am concerned as to who sells their product because it doesnt care well for Viking. Nevertheless, our Viking appliances are all great. We love all of them when everythings working. Even the oven is great with the top one thats working. The refrigerator has been the most beneficial for our family. I like that it has great space and everythings there. With it having different temperatures on, Im able to keep the cheese and the vegetables from freezing. Its an all around good product and is well built.

I really like my Viking range. They’ve updated them over the years and tried to make them a little bit easier to clean since this is not self-cleaning type which is fine with me. Its very even cooking and heats up quickly. I like that its sturdy. The grates are really heavy and I know that theyre solid and not going to bend on me. The salesperson did a great job and was very helpful. I had a huge double oven that had a grill on it. It worked really well, and I really liked it. I only had it serviced once. It was having a little trouble igniting. The sparks would fly but it wouldnt ignite. Some guy came out and fixed it and it was fine ever since. So in our second home, I got another Viking. Its the oven and a half on the bottom. Its not quite as big as the other one but both places have been great. It has little lights on top of each control knob, which my older one didnt have. So at night when the whole kitchen is dark, it’s almost like a little night light which is cool. I also like that its not electronic. I get to turn the knob and tell it what to do. It doesnt ask me questions. I have the Viking range hood as well. Some people do Wolf, some people do Dacor but I like Viking. They have a good reputation and its restaurant quality for the home. Wife and I bought a house with a beautiful kitchen. We saw the Viking professional line in the house and it seemed like a blessing... until we moved in and the nightmares began. Two months into our living there, the dishwasher and refrigerator, both 2006 models have already broken several times. Little things are broken all over the inside of the fridge. The freezer does not seem to defrost and Ive manually had to chop out ice from the pan inside, which is nearly impossible. Dishwasher cannot get dishes clean at all, leaves a deposit. Weve been using citric acid and scrubbing inside of washer by hand... no effect. We know an appliance repairman and he has a policy of not touching VIKING at all costs. Our nearest repairman who says they will fix is miles and miles away, and gives a no guarantee disclaimer on all things related to Viking. Another guys asked us for an up front retainer and our credit card before hed even start and when we said no (seemed shifty) he said good luck because nobody wants to touch them. My parents had a GE refrigerator for 40 years. Our last fridge was Maytag and was 1/8 the price, no probs. Had a $200 GE dishwasher in old house that did a better job and no breakdowns for 10 years. Stay away from Viking.

And the installation of the dishwasher was crazy. Ive installed probably a couple of hundred dishwashers before but for that particular dishwasher, I had to do some modifications and stuff on it to get the water in. If Im not mistaken, these dishwashers are made overseas. But the only frustrating thing that weve really had with the appliances has been the microwave. The LED lights have gone out. And the same is for the dishwasher. So the repair person who came out ordered new panels for both. He said it may take up to a month to get the parts. But so far, weve been really happy with the oven for the price that we got it for. The other one was about $8000 and it was 48-inch range. But now this one, its a cheaper designer line. And the service has been good with it. Its not the dual fuel. Its all gas and its cooking great.
