The Viking range was at my house when I moved into it, but Ive heard great things about the quality and that they last a really long time. It works really well, and it is very clean and sleek. The easiest thing is cleaning the range and the stove top. Its very easy to remove and you can put it in the dishwasher, which is great. One time, the oven door was a little bit loose. I reached out, they had someone come out within a couple of days and fixed it. Since then it has been working great.

I like the price of the Viking Ranges and also the access to obtaining the part so I got one from them. I bought my oven from a store in Chicago that sells Viking appliances, and the service that I got was excellent. Everything looks great and whatever was advertised for the type of oven we bought was exactly what we got and if not more, so its been very pleasant so far.

In 2012 we replaced a 14 year-old JennAir oven and microwave, which were old but working fine, with what we thought were upgraded Pro Viking products. We are sorely disappointed with both but I will focus on the microwave for now. VMOS201SS with trim kit came to over $1000 with taxes and looked lovely. However, the control pad is impossible to clean and the microwave oven, after 4 years of moderate use for reheating only, works intermittently. Sometimes it works... sometimes it is dead. Apparently there is a switch in the door that is malfunctioning. Repair company that services Viking charged $160 to look at it and ordered a new part from Sharp, who manufactured this piece of junk. That was in early January. I am writing this in mid March with no part in sight. Repair company is not at fault. Viking is stalling sending the part. It is not worth replacing the part at this point so I will reuse the trim kit and order from a different manufacturer. Frigidaire FGMO205KF looks like it will fit and has good reviews. I will never buy another Viking product.

I wanted the French doors on top and the drawer at the bottom. That month, Viking came out with a new model but it did not have the water dispenser either inside or on the door and that was something I was looking for because everywhere that I did research on, the word was that there was a glitch with every refrigerator that has either a water dispenser inside or outside and you always have to buy the filter. I thought that was a hassle so I was pleased that Viking came out with a model that didnt have that. It was also a good made on their part because the one they had before the new model had an internal water dispenser and I dont drink cold water. I like either tepid or hot water so this refrigerator was made for my needs. It was perfect. But the crisper drawers would ice up and there would be big chunks of ice there. They wouldnt thaw out so I would have to go at it with an ice pick. Viking brought a technician over to try and fix it but he said he couldnt do a fix. He said the refrigerator was a lemon. He worked on other refrigerators of Viking and they were fine. Mine was the only model where the defrost wasnt working. But they couldnt repair it so they swapped it out with a new refrigerator. And I love the meat drawer of the new refrigerator. It keeps the meats colder so that it lasts a little longer. If I dont use the meat thats in there for three days, it would still be okay. I also like the freezer drawer. The fridge I had before I remodeled my kitchen was a side by side door. By then side by side refrigerators were not that well made because all the refrigerator manufacturers were moving toward the French doors with the drawer freezer. Some people say that one of the problems is when you have the drawer that pulls out, youre always fishing for space. But I find that I didnt have to do that because within the freezer, theres two pull out and one at the bottom. I can always see whats there which is nice. And then all of the freezer baskets that pull out, theyre all wire baskets and not solid panels so the frozen food gets frozen hard.I also like the fact that the lighting is in the front. In the Hotpoint refrigerator we had before we remodeled, the light is in the back of the refrigerator. So if I have any item thats tall enough, itll block the lights and I dont get the light in the front. But with Viking, they put the light in the front and the lighting is good. I can see everything so Im impressed with that, too. So overall, I like the layout and the one that I bought was counter depth which is nice too. The Hotpoint refrigerator that we had stuck way out in front of the cabinet so everyone is always bumping into it. So now being counter depth, theres enough room in the inside, too. Its a little bigger than my Hotpoint but efficiency-wise, its all around so much better. The delivery person had to deliver and install it and he was very conscientious about not marring the parquet hardwood floors and all of the other stuff. They made sure before he left that everything was up and running very well. I was impressed with the installer they hired as well. They didnt cut corner on service and didnt corner on the refrigerator which is nice. But Im most impressed with the Viking service. Usually, companies dont replace defective products. They keep sending a technician once a month to try to mess with it. Viking couldnt repair the fridge so they swapped it out with a new refrigerator and Im pleased with the decision. I never had that before so that was quite a statement as to how well Viking stand behind their product.

I bought a $8,500 Viking Refrigerator in late 2004. When I started having problems in 2017, I called the only appliance repair in Fredericksburg, VA for Viking. They arrived and charged $90 and told me to plug the fridge in after it defrosted. The repairman had taken out the basket and freezer door and took the screws with him. When I called them, they sent me an estimate for $1500. I asked them why $1500 estimate when they didnt run the diagnostics? They said that was the worst case scenario. How can anyone decide whether to repair or not if you dont know whats wrong. I called Viking customer service and they were indifferent. DONT BUY VIKING!

Bought a Viking that never ran properly. Company agreed to replace but we had to pay up half the value. Then the replacement broke down, when under warranty and had to throw all the foods in trash again. 2 months after the warranty expired it broke down again. The part not functioning was told is not necessary but then we had to pay $350.00 for some kind of repair that didnt make sense regarding the electrical was reversed. Worst product ever!!! DO NOT BUY A VIKING FRIDGE! It is unconscionable for Viking to still be selling fridges at these price. When you add the cost of spoiled foods, repair cost, and waiting and change of schedule for repair person to come and cost of refrigerators itself we are talking close to $20,000.00. Shame on Viking. The customer service not helpful either. It should be reported as crime, since the temperature never reach to what standard should be 35-38.

We saw Viking at the Hahn Appliance store and my wife specifically liked the style and look of it. The one we bought was the 48-inch and it had the ice and water in the door, and we had a small fire inside the freezer door because the wires melted together. We stood toe-to-toe with Viking ‘cause they just wanted to replace the part. I said to them that the freezer caught on fire so they should replace the refrigerator and they did. They were easy to work with. We got a new one replaced about a month ago but it does not have the water and ice in the door. Other than that, we’re very pleased with it.

Also, when I called Viking for warranty on oven, fireplace, and the refrigerator, they couldn’t even help me to find the serial number. The reps were extremely impatient and they even sighed on the phone. For a $400 refrigerator, Im okay with that but not for a $10,000 one. And then, once the technician arrived, they checked the serial number and it was completely a different place than what the reps told me. Up to now, I still havent received my the part for the drawer. The technician said he will order the part and it has been a month since then. I don’t like Viking at all.

I like the idea that Viking is made in the US. I also like the idea of the prestige of the brand. I fix and flip houses so whenever I have it in the budget, Id like to go Viking because it helps with the resale. Their customer service is very accommodating. There is a bit of a challenge of me being on the West Coast and them mostly in the South and the Eastern Time Zone. But I have no complaints. I like the styling of what they do. I like the industrial look of them and how the range fits into a home. Sometimes, the Viking ovens can run hotter than they should. So I had a crispy turkey for Thanksgiving. But that was kind of my fault.

We purchased the top of the line (so we thought) Viking double wall ovens for our re-model. They arrived with broken glass in the 2 doors. The oven was installed, without the doors, into the custom built cabinet based on the specs from the manufacturer. It didnt fit properly, no matter how hard we pushed on the approx. 400-lb. appliance. There was nothing in the way of it being pushed fully into the cabinet, and finally we realized that the oven itself was twisted a bit so that while the right top corner and bottom corners fit, the top left corner sits out about 1/2 to 3/4 inch. It looks hideous but we live with it because the company wouldnt respond to our concerns. We assume the unit was dropped somewhere before it reached us. Replacement doors finally came, one had broken glass again. New one came and it was installed. Then when I began using the top oven it burned the bottom and left the top undercooked. I thought it was me at first, since I may not have been used to this particular oven. Not me. Its the oven. If I use it, then I lower the temp. 50 degrees and hope for the best. I contacted the company from which we purchased it as well as Viking, but nothing was addressed to remedy the problems and, funny thing, our warranty expired. Then there is the issue of the self-cleaning function which I used maybe 4 or 5 times. I dont use it any more. I am worried, because of the extreme heat coming from the ovens and what I can feel on the wood around it, that it will catch fire. We heard that the self-cleaning is a problem with Viking. Anyway, we limp it along because we spent thousands on it and to replace it is an expense we cant assume right now, but I tell everyone how much I hate our Viking ovens and that they should never buy one. At a home show convention several years ago, the Viking reps were out trying to drum up interest. I told them of my experience and they took my name, etc. with the promise that theyd help me... Right, never happened. Lousy product, lousy customer service.

I like it. The only issue we had with it was when we first got it, when we turned on the oven and after it warmed up, I could hear the metal expanded and it would pop. But now, weve had it so long that the heat has expanded the metal already, so we dont hear any kind of weird noises. But its been a great range. Weve cooked some awesome meals on it. We always had electric, so this gas is a new thing for us and we really enjoyed it. Their team has been great too. Anything Ive needed help with, they were always there to help me out. I had a few issues with the appliances when they got delivered, they were damaged. It was a great experience with them.

This refrigerator is a disaster! The ice maker has broken repeatedly since Ive owned it. Repair calls and bills for that and it still doesnt work. The plastic handles on the bins are all broken. When you pull on them to open the drawers, they break. And the worse thing? It leaks. I have thousands of dollars of damage to my bamboo floor. After having this repaired, I see that the pan under the refrigerator fills up with water every few days. This is a refrigerator, not a high tech device. The engineering should be mundane. Ive had other refrigerators from GE that are far less expensive that never needed servicing. Nothing with this refrig works and I dont understand how this company could release it for sale, not have a recall, not replace them, not offer money back. The product is totally defective.I see that many others on this site have experienced the same problem. I am considering instituting a class action lawsuit. If you are interested, please let me know. It is unethical, bad business and fraudulent for the company to sell defective products and then not stand behind them.

We bought a new house and all the appliances in it were from Viking. A lot of our friends with high-end homes also have either Viking, Sub-Zero or Wolf, and a lot of them are getting serviced. I also had a lot of problems with the first refrigerator, and when I would call up Viking, people picked up right away. Carters Appliances, one of their authorized repair contractors, came out to service, and they were awesome and super-nice, and came out right away. They had to come out a bunch, but they were great. However, we had to throw out about $800 worth of food because the problems happened three or four different times. They had to change the motherboard in the ref. Then the bottom of the refrigerator, where the coils are, kept freezing. The ref also had a problem where there was so much ice, so the coils got pushed into the plastic, then the ice started melting, and all the food had a smell to it. It was frustrating to deal with Viking about this, but they did replace the ref. They gave me a new one, and thats been perfect. I like the pizza box storage on the bottom.

In 2007, when we had our hood installed, we thought the contractor installed it wrong because we could not get the waffle plates out to clean. A service technician was ready willing and able to come and take the whole thing apart, but thank God I also called another technician who came first and said that the motor was installed correctly but that there was something wrong with the design and the filters were not able to come out. I called Viking and they sent one of their technicians. This guy sat on the stove and told me to look carefully. He said, You have to punch in this side while pulling down and shake it around a lot.Needless to say, that idiot was out of my home in a flash. I had not yet paid for all of our appliances with the retailer: Viking 6-burner stove, two Bosch dishwashers, one Subzero fridge, one Subzero freezer, etc. A big bill. Eventually, a Viking big shot came to our home and redesigned pieces so that the filters could drop out easily. Customer service on the phone had asked me why I needed to take the filters out so often. Hello? I cook. Hate Viking. Today, June 5, 2013, the hood which has been turning on its own for a month with minimum heat blew. Wish me luck. Have to make one of many calls. Oh, and the burners in the oven had been replaced 3 years ago and I was told that I use my oven a lot, NOT. The burners cost over $1,000 to replace. Hate Viking.

A friend of mine in North Carolina had a small Viking in her kitchen and I liked the way that Viking Ranges look and I wanted something that was a step above whats in a regular big-box store. However, it rattles so I had Midwest Appliance Repair come out for it. It was still under warranty so they had the fan fixed but I never called them back for them to fix it again, so now its out of warranty and having to put a new fan in there would cost around $300. Also, it wasnt cooking evenly on the front right burner. So when Midwest was out here, they told me that there were two missing silicon bumpers that were supposed to be on the grates to hold it way up from the flames to the proper height. I asked them to order me a whole set for all three grates so I can replace them if I lose one, but the guy called me back and told me that it was $28 a piece so I will just go down and find something else at Lowes that will do the trick. The parts are pricey especially given how much the cost of the range was. Other than that, my friends call it diamond mill because its fancy and Im happy with it. I love the quality in terms of the weight of the piece and the way it cooks that food. I also love that roll-out rack on ball bearings and the freezer doesnt dry things out and theres never a freezer burn. Overall, its the kind of stove that if I ever move, it will go with me.

We purchased an expensive D3 series Viking oven thinking that paying a LOT more (than ie a Samsung or Kitchen Aid) will offer us a lot better product. WRONG!!Yesterday midnight we heard a loud noise in the kitchen. Short story we went to the kitchen and found the décor front oven black glass on the floor shattered in a thousand tiny pieces (the oven was off!). We babied this oven and it has low use!! I mean we babied it like our own eyes!!I called several places that carry Viking authorized parts to replace the glass at my expense (even though I am most sure this was a defect on the glass that on the long run stressed out) and I was SHOCKED to hear that this is a special order that the factory no longer makes. SO I am now stuck with an originally $4,000+ boat anchor that we cannot use due to the fact that Viking, supposedly a very high end American manufacturer decided not to sell replacement parts anymore. I have had several other ovens during the course of my life. MUCH lower priced i.e Samsung that NEVER - EVER had an issue getting service, replacement parts and certainly not a single one had a glass explode on its own. This is TOTAL GARBAGE - stay away from this manufacturer and buy other appliances. UNHEARD OF!!!

We switched it to Viking and Ive been really happy with it so far. But the back of the range has a cut-in, assuming that your gas feed comes on the left side. Our feed comes in on the right side so we had to slide the range out until we were able to move our gas feed to the left side. If it had probably cut out going across it and the air would cut out, that would have been much better than having a big cut-out only on one side.

There have still been some installation problems, but we’re working on it
There have still been some installation problems, but we’re working on it. The range does not sit all the way in because the gas hookup isn’t compatible with a spec home. So theres a three-inch gap between the range and the wall. We were told by Nebraska Furniture Mart, which is where we bought the range, that we needed to get an L joint to connect it and push it further back. But they havent been able to do that. Theyve given us absolutely no guidance in what to do about it now. Changing it from a connector that comes up through the floor is simply not an option. According to our builder, its not usual to put the gas line through the floor. It’s usual to put it through the wall because ranges normally have a dead space at the bottom. Apparently, Viking does not. It’s not my first Viking, so I dont know why it never happened before. Nebraska Furniture Mart has been zero help. So we’re working with our builder to see what we can do. The range is not flushed against the wall. So when the automatic fan comes on, it vibrates like crazy. We’ve built several houses and we’ve had Viking range before. We like it and it’s a good range. We’ve never had any problems with the actual functioning of the range.

We built our house two years ago and put in over $60,000 in Viking appliances double over, two dishwashers, stove top, microwave, outdoor grill, fridge, and under counter fridge. I have problems with my dishwashers since day one. They have been serviced 5 times in 2 years. Last week when my one year old daughter opened the door of my under counter fridge, the whole door fell off and landed on her leg, trapping her under the 70 lb door. When I called Viking range to let them know and ask them to recall the fridge and replace mine they did nothing about it. I have had problems with my other Viking products. When I walked into the showroom, the people were nice and I liked them. I went with Viking ranges because of the quality of the product and we like it a lot. We have the whole set -- the range, the refrigerator, the under cabinet microwave, dishwasher. All of it is easy to clean and they work well. The Viking dealer, Judys Appliance, was also good. The only comment I have is I have a couple issues with my refrigerator. They came out and fixed it. But with the range itself, the one time I needed a service, it was supposed to have a five-year warranty on the burners, the one part was not covered under the warranty. So, why advertise a five-year warranty on the burners if they are not going to cover the burner part? Nevertheless, I recommend it to anybody.

We werent originally getting Viking Refrigerators but after looking at refrigerators, I liked the features on it and the quality of the refrigeration is good. It has the two doors on top and a door freezer. I like that the ice tray is not in the door because you lose space when it’s in the door, that was why we ended up going with Viking. I originally wanted refrigerators with the ice maker in the door, but it doesn’t work well with this kind of model. We got the Viking also because when you pull the ice tray, there are three drawers that pull out so when you do one pull of the drawer on the outside, the ice tray drawer comes out as well. It’s magnetized to the door and that’s a big feature. A lot of times with the other refrigerators. Once you open the drawer and then you get to pull another rack to get the ice, it’s two steps, which is annoying. This way, you pull it once and then you can get the ice. But when it was delivered, they took that feature off. It was on the showroom floor, but then they changed the model and they no longer did that feature so a part was ordered for us to put the back of that on the door. So now, it’s magnetized and the ice tray drawer pulls out. They were able to do that but they should put that feature back in. That was the selling feature for us. Thank goodness they were able to retrofit that. We had a problem with the doors. When you look at the two top doors, there’s a weave in the stainless steel on one side and there’s none in the other so we had the salesperson from Appliance World come in and checked it. She came, verified it and then went back to the reps who deal with the Viking people. They said that cosmetic problems are supposed to be told within three months, and we were six months out. I’m going to call my sales rep and tell her that I was not happy with that. She saw that there was a problem and I was told that one side door will be switched out. The other sales rep from Appliance World that deals with the repair people said, “You’re out of warranty. Sorry. Bye.” She wasn’t very nice. She also said, “I deal with these people all the time. Viking is not going to change their mind. Blah, blah, blah.” The other reason that we liked the feature is that we were able to create this to make it look like a built-in because Viking simply gives built-in refrigerator and this particular model is the only one they make that’s not a built-in. We have custom cabinetry so they made it look like it was a built-in and it came out nice. We didn’t want to spend the money on a built-in and this is not a built-in but we can make it look like one.

The sales rep showed us a lot of variety of different brands of stoves. When it came to us looking at the Viking range, he didnt pressure us and he told us to take our time. He just showed us the various features of it. We were pleased and we went back a second time. We were still satisfied with the way he was handling everything. Were really were enjoying our range. Were happy with the intensity of the heat and how it responds. Its such a solid range and its very efficient. It looks good and it feels good to work with it. Also, we got our range at a reduced price as it was on sale. That helped. For what we paid for it and given the quality, it was money well-spent. I looked at other models of stoves and this one seemed superior for the difference in cost.

We were without an oven for five weeks. I contacted Viking and I spoke with a gentleman named Tony who should have been responsible for resolving these kinds of issues. Basically, he said that Viking would only come and replace parts on the unit even though we had had the repairman out three times. He also said that they would restart our warranty once the range started working. Tony was nice but he had a very condescending attitude. He should not be dealing with end-users.Viking never got me a new range and I am rather disappointed with them. They were exceedingly stubborn with replacing it. I didn’t even wanna go with the same model and I wanted to get a different one. I wanted to go to a dual convection and I wouldve paid the difference if Viking wouldve stepped in and did something about it. It took a lot of work and coordination that the consumer and the end-user should not have had to go through. I have never dealt with a more frustrating company and I’m astonished that they treat an end-user like that. It ruined my opinion of them. The dealer I purchased it from replaced the range, and that was before Viking agreed to make the transfer. This was all done through the retailer. They brought a new one out and it worked right away, and it’s been working since then. Viking is a very good range while it’s been working, but with all the experience I had with the last unit, I was not happy. Any time that somebody will ask me about my range, I will be more than happy to tell them the story of how Viking basically did nothing.

I went with Viking for their style and quality. However, the quality of the range that I bought from them is mediocre for what I paid. It cost $5,000 and it’s not really living up to it. The door is loose. It hasn’t worked properly and its slow to start sometimes. I had tried to rectify the door myself a few times and Viking did come out to rectify it. I called Viking and it was pretty good. I complained about the door and they were nice. But the dealers at Karl’s Appliance wasn’t so great. They’re sort of flakier. But I like the five burners. It’s the 30-inch stove. It fits the space. Those who come to my apartment love looking at it. They’re jealous. But that wasn’t what we were going for. We wanted a big stove/oven. Its the wider range, its freestanding. It gives you more capacity inside. It has three racks as opposed to just two. It would be better if Viking could extend the warranty. Mine’s good for like three years allegedly. And now, its only a year-long from what I hear which is sort of silly. Mine hit the cut-off date unless the seller offers included the warranty. My LG washer has a 10-year warranty. And it’s expensive to install and what have you. The result is expensive. This one is a $5,000 range and then, two, it’s expensive to just connect it and reconnect it with the new ones. Moreover, it would be better for it to have heat-resistant handles. When you’re cooking at a high temperature for a while, the knobs near the top front of the top of the space get really, really hot and they’re not supposed to. And the door is not supposed to get that hot, either. For instance, if youre cooking turkey for a long time. It takes three hours and it gets hot. They should work on that and get that fixed.

The salesman we spoke with at University Electric in Sta. Clara was really nice. He was showing us all the features of the ranges they had. So far, the Viking Range we got has been of pretty good quality. I like that one of the burners has higher heat of 10,000 BTU. So when I stir fry noodle, it makes it taste a bit more like restaurant noodles cooked on a high-heat stove.

I first heard of Viking Refrigerators from friends talking about the brand when they were shopping for the prices and we purchased from them because my husband likes the look. We got the French refrigerator and Vikings team was friendly and helpful. But its a little concerning that it came with issues. There was something wrong with the door and there was a dent on top of it. I called the company that I purchased it from and they weren’t too responsive but I was able to get a small discount off the fridge and someone came to fix the problem that I was having with the door. The person who came out was surprised that they shipped it out to me in that condition. We had the issues resolved but I feel like it doesn’t live up to the name that I’m used to hearing about, at least for this model.

Viking is overpriced garbage. The larger oven bottom metal has warped badly. The stove top burners are hard to auto light. The middle griddle has had a temperature control problem since new and now barely heats up. The fridge/freezer condensation drip pan on the bottom overflows every other month. I believe this is because they tried to not use an electric heater for evaporation to save electricity but it is an energy pig anyways. I changed the ice maker which now works fine because it isnt made by Viking. The through the door ice dispenser has never worked consistently even after being replaced. The hood is okay but is a ** to clean properly. An appliance repairman told me Kitchen Aid is much better quality and the parts are cheaper but more reliable.

Two year old oven breaks down 3-4 times - We purchased their top of the line double oven range. Within two years one of the ovens has stopped working. Viking has sent out two companies to fix the issue, but one has refused to take on any more Viking range service calls because they cannot obtain parts from Viking. Thanksgiving was very disappointing because Viking was unable to supply the service company with parts even though the service call was place in September. We were told that Viking was doing inventory; therefore, was unable to send out the parts. After contacting Viking, the person I spoke with stated that the service company should not be sharing the information with me. It is now December 4 and still the parts have not been shipped to the service company. Yes, Viking has beautiful appliances, but they are not dependable. We will never buy another Viking product again.

Our refrigerator was leaking from the inside for quite a number of months. As we were going through various showrooms and appliance stores, we had seen the Viking Refrigerators and looked into them. We chose Viking because we found a refrigerator that was on clearance and it was something that would fit in our space at the time and fulfill our needs. Its working very well. I like the way the upper interior is organized. I also like the sturdiness of the back which is in the lower freezer compartment. Were very happy and satisfied with it. We purchased the DMOC in 2007 (no longer available). Beginning in 2009 the problems began. First, a fuse. Then the wiring circuit was bad, followed by the door switch which was faulty.. was repaired. Then replaced a fuse again (same one), and it quit again a week ago. We called the Viking Southwest President and spoke with him. Unsympathetic, unapologetic, he informed me that microwaves only have an anticipated lifespan of 6.5 to 7.5 years - the 10 that we have read about! He stated he would get the record of repairs from their authorized service company (whom we did use!) and he would get back us. No call back. We called again and left a message 4 days after our initial conversation. No call back. Today, a new convection microhood from the competition was installed!

The Viking Range was installed in our home and it’s been very high-quality. My favorite feature is the even heating, baking, and the temperature control. We did have to have someone come and service it though. The issue was that one of the sensors for starting the oven was incorrectly tuned so it wouldn’t catch to start. We contacted a certified service provider that was in our area that we found using their tool on the website. The technician came and fixed that fairly easily. And it was also very easy to contact the technician. And they were very helpful in terms of organizing the service. It was also still under warranty. Overall, we were very satisfied with the appliance.

I’ve used Viking for several years. I’ve had a 16-inch Viking range in one house and had some other Viking and Jenn-Air appliances as well. But Ive always gone back to Viking. My wife likes them because the big Viking ranges have removable inserts so when we spill and things flow over on the gas ranges, we lift the grating off and then there’s a pan that we can lift out on the older ones that makes it much easier to clean. But in my current house, I bought a Viking surface gas range and it’s a pain in the ass because I can’t pull those pans out to clean them.I also have a non-built in refrigerator and I had it drop shipped to my house. I unpacked it, installed it myself, set it all up, and it’s perfect. I like the LED lighting in them. Its just a nice touch to it when I open the doors. Also, the handles have a substantial feel which at times, feel a little better than industrial feel. Others are still in boxes and they’re waiting to be installed. One’s a built in refrigerator, built in freezer, and a built in wine cooler. And I have a construction project going on right now so they’re not going to be installed for another four weeks if all goes smoothly. One of the reasons I’ve gone overboard with Viking is because when I went a local supplier where I’m at to look at Viking and they didn’t stock them any more They said, “Well, we actually just had to pull them out because we don’t do enough business here. Viking is consolidated per dealership network. And so I called another dealer and they said, “Yeah. We’ve been buying up all the demo Viking stuff and Viking bought stuff from other dealers ‘cause they’ve gone through a dealer consolidation. So I ended up going to a dealer in Dallas, Texas and buying most of my Viking appliances from them. We got a really good discount because they had been buying up inventory from other dealerships in this consolidation so my timing was right.Nonetheless, I spent over $20,000 but Ive got three refrigerators, a wine cooler, two stove tops, one gas, one induction, and one Viking wall oven and two Viking warming drawers. My wife absolutely loves the wall oven because they’re French doors, and she’s short. She’s burned herself on oven doors trying to reach into the oven to pull things out and so those French doors are phenomenal for short people because they can get right into the oven without having to reach over the door when they open the door down in a conventional oven. Ive already recommended them to a couple of friends that were remodeling their kitchens. I even told them where to go and a couple of dealerships that I worked with that gave really good pricing.

I own a Viking range and I use them for customers. When I built a new home, they were clearing out at the Ferguson showroom and there was a Viking and a Thermador. The Thermador was under warranty in a matter of a year and that was good. It was a 48-inch, it went through bolts and boards, and it went through the heating element. So it went through a lot and to me, that was not great. Its convection also had a huge loud sound and I didnt like that at all. On the other hand, the Viking was very quiet and I really liked it a lot better. So I gave it a shot and purchased it online. I could have gone through the dealer in Salt Lake, but I would have had to pay taxes. If I had to do it again, though, Id probably go with the dealer thats close because I had to return one item and it has been a real pain. At first, they told me that they were not going to take the part back. But it was still in the box and we couldnt install the back part because there wasnt enough room. And we didnt know that until we got the back part. Then, they said they would take it back, but I had to ship it back and it was a double package so it would cost $75 to ship it. It also took forever for them to acknowledge they got it and when they said they have issued the credit, I still hadnt seen it. Overall, I love Viking and its various simmers. Its a beautiful stove and it works great. Its also functional and very effective. Its commercial great, too, so its worth the money. But I really wanted to get certain features and to get them, I had to keep upgrading. Then, when we moved, I had to downgrade to a 30-inch. So, that was hard when I had the nice, big double ovens. They should also make the colored ones cheaper so I could get the beautiful cobalt blue or the red one. I love the easy glide over rack as well and I want to know where to purchase it.

Im a contractor and Ive put in appliances a few different times. I also put them in the last house that we remodeled. On that one, we went all commercial-type appliances and I had lots of problems with those. Unfortunately, the refrigerator went out three different times. And the installation of the dishwasher was crazy. Ive installed probably a couple of hundred dishwashers before but for that particular dishwasher, I had to do some modifications and stuff on it to get the water in. If Im not mistaken, these dishwashers are made overseas. But the only frustrating thing that weve really had with the appliances has been the microwave. The LED lights have gone out. And the same is for the dishwasher. So the repair person who came out ordered new panels for both. He said it may take up to a month to get the parts. But so far, weve been really happy with the oven for the price that we got it for. The other one was about $8000 and it was 48-inch range. But now this one, its a cheaper designer line. And the service has been good with it. Its not the dual fuel. Its all gas and its cooking great.

But it wasnt until about three weeks ago, I had some renovating and remodeling. I had the plumbers come out and they connected the water line to the fridge so it can make ice. They hooked it up and I left for work, came back and only about 10 pieces of ice were made. So, I called up the place that I bought it from and they sent out a technician today but they couldnt figure it out. The technician was like, Oh, you need to send this in to Viking. This is a 700-pound unit. I spoke with them and they said that they will come out again to get this figured out. So, Im not very happy with the fridge at the moment. So we’re happy with the way it works. Also, their team went efficiently and the installation was adequate. However, we didn’t like the fact that we couldn’t get the refrigerator fully clad in stainless steel. We had to go out and get panels. Its just a fridge, and frankly a poorly designed product, that for some reason costs an order of magnitude more than others. My Viking is 19 years old but the first failures started in the first year. Shelf units and other plastic parts crack and break and the price of replacement is half the cost of a brand new fridge of another brand ($600 for a plastic drawer cover! - be warned!). Im about to haul my $15,000 fridge to the dump because the back is rusting out, it leaks water onto the floor whenever it defrosts, and the control panel no longer responds to key presses. Ive taken my fridge apart. Im a former VP of Engineering for a few product development companies and in my opinion there is nothing in this fridge to justify the price. Its just a fridge. Cheap electronics, poor mechanical design, and for some reason this company is able to charge a huge premium for their product and extortionist prices for replacement parts. Save your money! We purchased a Series 3, 30, gas, self-cleaning range. I installed it about 3 months ago. The first thing I noticed was that the way it was attached to the pallet, caused the unit to slide forward on the pallet. The plant installed an oak rail in the top center of the pallet. The front end of this rail dented the stainless steel front skirt. Its not a bad bend but you will notice that it is no longer straight. Recently after cooking many dinners on it, you cant get a really low flame for simmering on any burner. I never had this problem with my low-end GE.I also have noticed that on occasion the back small burner will not light, and must be tried several times. The most disturbing issue is when any top burner is on, low or medium, and you open the oven door, the flame on the burner want to go out, or does go out then re-lights itself. Not good! Also after cooking on the top stove area, any drops of water that might splash out of a pot, cannot be allowed to dry, next to a hot burner, or a permanent awful looking mark will mar the cooktop. It is not removable. All of these problems should not be attached to a $5000 range.

We purchased a Viking Gas Range this summer for our kitchen renovation. We were excited about our purchase as we had saved up for this particular gas range. After install, we have been less than impressed. When preheating, the gas oven makes a very loud bang! (As if metal is expanding inside.) It scares me every time I hear it, even though I know its coming. When I called customer service, I was told once that it was normal and a second time, I was put on hold for 20 + minutes, only to hang up because I didnt feel my concern was being valued. We also smell a very strong smell of gas or exhaust when the gas oven is on.My concern is that the loud bang and smell of gas/exhaust should not be present in an appliance that is so expensive. We expected higher quality when we made this purchase. Ive tried calling customer service and entering a claim on the website (which seems to be permanently down and unable to accept claims online). I want to be in love with this purchase, but Im not. In fact, I feel a little uneasy using the gas oven due to the experience Ive had so far.

Since they will not service it even after being told that my wife is pregnant and it’s dangerous to operate a broken ceramic electric range top. May 22nd I pay 178 bucks to their agent Oceanic repairs to tell me how to fix the ceramic top of my electric oven which is broken. Now two weeks after repeated calls to their agent and Viking, no one even has told me when it will be fixed. Since it’s dangerous to operate a cracked ceramic oven top, we couldn’t even boil water for two weeks. And probably will have to sit a few more weeks before they will enlighten me when this ceramic top will be fixed. By then, I will be forced to buy another oven, of course never Viking again. Please don’t pay this kind of money for a brand which will take weeks to just tell you when your oven will be fixed.

I like the size and the design of my Viking refrigerator. But I had problems with it right out of the box. The door wasn’t properly aligned so they had to come out and adjust that. The drawers are self-closing and the tracks on two of them were damaged. One of the dairy compartments was damaged as well. Im waiting for them to replace those but it has been more than a month now. They havent been staying in contact with me either. I usually have to reach out to them. Ive owned Viking in my last house and I thought they would be just as reliable. But apparently, theyre not. I dont know whats going on with Viking and I dont know if Ill ever buy it again.

Viking Ranges were at the store that we went to. We talked to a Viking rep and also to the salesman and our experience was very pleasant. They were very knowledgeable about the product. We got the six-burner range and we liked the size of the range and the burners. The quality is also very good. I like the convection oven because I’ve never had one. The range is everything we wanted it to be. It’s very easy to use and easy clean.

Friends who had Viking in the past had good things to say. But it was the quality and the nice looks of it that made me decide to go with them. However, I was surprised that the hinges on the door had to be replaced so soon. The oven is about three and a half years and their warranty was only three years. The dealer was great though. When they called, they were engaged and got back to me right away. The oven is great. It has a good temperature and it feels very durable. Overall, I had a good experience with Viking. Ill definitely call them again if I ever should.

The Viking range was so pretty. I got one thats jet black with rose gold accent. Its one of my fancy splurges for the kitchen. My house was being renovated and the designer did all of the ordering. The installation of the range was easy. They had a nice team come in and set everything up and level it. The range works really well. I like the fact that youre not actually sitting the pot on the burner. Youre sitting it on the little metal thing above the burner. Its set up pretty high from the burner. Theres an indentation in the burner so the flame is set down in the indentation, which means that it keeps you further away from the flame. You have to work very hard to burn yourself. Thats a really nice safety feature. The range also works quickly. There are lots of options on how to set the temperature. I like the fact that the knobs light up when a particular burner is being used because its also easy to know if a burner is on. If the pilot light didnt light, you dont have to worry about gas flowing because the light is on will tell you which burner is active.

We bought our range, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator from Viking. Im not too happy with the refrigerator as weve had an issue from the very beginning when wherein we would get constant beeping. It gives an FR2 error code and beeps and beeps. We close and open it but its constant. Plus, the refrigerator is deceiving as its really big but kinda small on the inside. So, it doesnt fit a lot of things. It doesnt give me water either. We also had an issue with our range. Still, Viking fixed that quickly. The purchase process for my refrigerator was fine and the delivery went okay. Its a nice looking refrigerator.

I unfortunately bought a Viking gas range from the local dealer Warner Stellian since the Wolf range I wanted was on indefinite backorder. This range has proven to be the worst gas range I ever had the mis-fortune of owning. Absolute piece of junk nothing but problems from day 1. Oven door that doesnt lock in cleaning cycle, spark modules and ignitors that dont work, door hinges that break, etc, etc. And forget about getting ANY satisfaction from Viking you call they ignore you and treat you like your stupid. I recently bought some much cheaper GE appliances for my mothers house in FLA and they performed flawlessly and at 1/4 to 1/3 the cost of Viking P.O.S.I think Im not alone see the other reviews on this site and they are all very consistent and UNHAPPY. DONT fall victim to the hype and salesperson B.S. Save your money and buy ANYTHING other than a Viking! Overpriced, poor quality, non-existent customer service, expensive hard to find parts, lousy, pathetic customer service from the manufacturer. Other than all that, youll love them...

The BTU that Vikings have warmed up things a lot quicker. I would recommend Viking Ranges. The dealers that we went to were good, however, I don’t think they knew their equipment that much. We already knew what we wanted and I went with some questions like if we should go with a smaller or bigger and they couldnt answer it. They didn’t seem to be extremely sharp at it. And now, I have four different Viking appliances. I love the high-techness of my refrigerator. When our builder gave us two options, whether the lower grade or the higher grade, I went with the higher grade which was Viking. I have already known that Viking Refrigerators were better and I like them. I like how easily I can move the shelf and I like the partial shelf a lot which drops under so I can put more tall things on the inside shelf. But one thing I don’t like about the Viking Refrigerator is the icemaker. The refrigerator is a three-door and I love the way the bottom freezer opens but every time I do the ice, it knocks an ice cube underneath. It’s crazy and I can’t get it to stop doing that. I’ve called it in but they told me that it is a standard problem. If I would have known that problem, I wouldn’t have bought it because it’s aggravating for me to chase around ice cubes under the refrigerator. They shouldn’t be there but it spits them out to the floor in front but if I pull the door out, they drop down behind the door. Also, the freezer part needs development because the top tray sticks and it’s hard to remove sometimes, and it’s brand new. I’ve seen the double drawer and I don’t know if I can have that in the freezer part at the bottom where the one big solid door with two racks inside is. They have a slim drawer on the outside and it’s the rest of the door, and even that would be a better model. Then, the first time I got my refrigeration filters, it took three months to get the filters replaced. It was some back order and I never knew the status of it. It was really aggravating and absolutely crazy how long it took to get the filter cartridge because it’s brand new. I really wanted them replaced for a while and it took at least two months come through. I didn’t even know that the order was still placed because I never got any feedback. So, there was really poor communication. I called Viking customer service and it was crazy. When I called the warranty department, the phone went automatically to their “We’re out for lunch.” I ended up calling a different department and said, “I’ve left messages on the line. I’m in the east coast. You can’t be out for lunch at 1 because it’s 8 AM.” They called me back and Desiree was lovely and was wondering why I was getting that message so I told her to try the number I called. There was another person who helped me, because the house was in North Carolina, and we’ve had an easy 10 hours in trying to contact Viking, which is beyond reasonable. I’m surprised they haven’t called to follow up on the status yet. Viking sent three different people to see if they would fix the machine. The first two wouldn’t even come for service because they don’t service Viking. Now, I fully expect the service for any repairs to be that awful. I should have shopped for a different model or looked for different ones because they’re a pain in the butt.

We recently remodeled our kitchen and purchased a full set of Viking appliances. They were installed in early November 2016. Shortly after install our wall oven started getting an F3 error (totally out of commission). We called Viking and waited more than a week for a response. Once I spoke with the repairman, he said, Im not sure why Viking provided you with my contact info. I dont support your area. Were on the Eastside of Seattle in between 7 large metropolitan areas. This happened two more times before we actually got connected with a repair company that supported Viking and our area. The repair company came out, and had to order two parts. The parts took more than 2 weeks to order so consequently we had no oven for the holidays. Two weeks after the parts were installed, the same issue (error code F3) happened again (completely out of commission).Again, called Viking; no response. Called the repair company that helped previously (they are great, btw) and they came out and now ordered the same 2 parts and have to wait until 2/23 for them to be delivered (today is 2/14). I asked Viking about what happens next. They said, they are not sure why Im upset with them... They have to go through this process for the warranty. After they reinstall these parts for a second time and if the error comes back, then they may consider extending our warranty. They may consider? What about replacing the oven for one that actually works? How long are we supposed to live without an oven. They dont care. Moral of the story; dont buy Viking. Not worth the money and they provide terrible customer service.

The fan of the Viking refrigerator we purchased was annoyingly loud. I have very sensitive hearing and it’s getting me crazy. We also purchased a Viking Range which I like it, but I had some issues with it. And they were not able to completely resolve it without tearing out the range and putting a new one in. When I had service on it, the gentleman said that the very low thats almost like a buzzing sound was just normal for the refrigerator. It sound like I have a constant bumblebee in my home. When I was choosing what refrigerator to buy, I’ve heard nothing but grief from people who are dealing with Sub-Zero, so that eliminated that one immediately. And the other two that I was familiar with were Viking and Thermador. I have a Thermador range in my second home and I’m not thrilled with it so I eliminated that. So I went with Viking and was holding my breath when I did. However, I was misled by the salesman. It was a significant purchase that was almost $12,000. He led me to believe that we were going to get 10% off our purchase back based on the program that Viking was running. But when I read the fine print of the information, that obviously was not the case and I haven’t even had a chance to submit my paperwork. But all in all, I had a good experience as far as the refrigerator, the delivery and the installation were concerned.

We like the look of the Viking professional series, but there are some reliability issues. We’ve had two service calls in just over a year which made me a little concerned. The first service call happened when the unit didn’t have a fan, so it was overheating, and the thermostat kept cutting off and shutting down the stove oven. Then the second time was when the control panel that drove the gas valve for the main oven and the igniter for the broiler both acted up. We were unable to use the main oven for about three weeks. They had to get some parts, then came back, and fixed the issues.

I have bought Viking appliances for my past two kitchen renovations and I have to say I am disappointed in the quality of my latest Viking range; especially when I compare it to same Viking range we had before. The latest range makes a loud bang sound whenever we turn the oven on and it is heating up. It sounds almost like a small explosion and when it first happened, my wife and I thought something seriously happened with the oven and that it was faulty. We had a Viking technician come out to look at it and he informed us that it is becoming increasingly common with Viking ranges and that there is nothing much we can do about it.I have to say that paying a huge premium on an appliance and being told that there is little we can do about it is not a very satisfying answer. It is also embarrassing whenever we have company over and they hear the bang go off with our oven and are surprised to learn that is something we put up with every day especially after spending so much money on a high-end item. I am not exactly sure what can ever be done about this but I must say that if or when we renovate our next kitchen, I cannot say that Viking will be high on my list as appliances to purchase.

This pertains to Viking microwave RDMOR200SST over the range unit. Purchased 12/12/13, installed 12/26/13, broken 1/18/14, lasted less than a month. Being in the HVAC field, Im very familiar with many brands, reputable and not so reputable. I recently read a tech article about Vikings new owner (CEO) and it seemed very promising. Boy was I wrong and he has a quality control/customer service nightmare on his hands. I have dealt with many companies in the field and this is without a doubt the worst. $650.00 microwave and the micro switches I found in this unit I would not have used in my daughters $5 toy. Youre probably saying, Why did you fix this yourself, you voided the warranty. Have you ever seen some of these morons they call appliance repairmen? Believe me, I have and I wouldnt trust 95% of them. Problem - wife shut the door and the micro circuit tripped, reset, breaker held but the micro was dead. Dissembled (only takes 2 minutes) and noticed 4 micro switches mounted on a cheap plastic rack, one of the switches the plunger was stuck in the down position. Upon inspection, the contact of the switch was welded together. These switches are rated at 16 amps, there is absolutely no way this switch holds 16 amps, no way. This is a fire hazard and a design defect. I removed all four switches and replaced with Ormon micro switches and NO THEY ARE NOT MADE IN CHINA , they are made in Japan. If I would have had warranty service tech perform this, they would have used the same cheap factory switches and the problem would have been reoccurring and caused more damage to the unit. For all of you do-it-yourselfers out there, change all of these switches out with quality ones. This will solve the majority of your issues with this unit.

I was looking for a range and didnt want one with all the bells and whistles. Viking Range was the cleanest and the simplest range I saw. I liked the fact that the Viking dealer was a private showroom, it was very nice. They had a lot of other models and stuff that I could look at. Plus, there was no high-pressure sale. However, I have two concerns for the money that I paid. One is the grate on top. The little rubber feet keep breaking off. My understanding is that the only way to fix that is to buy new grates, which is absolutely ridiculous because the grates are perfectly fine. The second is I had to have them repair the blower fan in the range. Again, I think that for the money I paid it would last a lot longer. Its still under warranty but I shouldnt expect that. I am disappointed in the grate rubber stops and the fan blower, but I love the cooktop.

48 Side-by-Side Refrigerator AND VICU165 - 36 wide cooktop - To say Ive been disappointed in Viking products is an understatement. When we began building our house we wanted a great kitchen. We chose Viking professional products. We purchased them about a year or so before we actually installed and moved into our home. Within the first 3 months our water dispenser in the door of the fridge/freezer froze over and completely quit working. We had a repairman come out... it worked for about 3 more months and we have not had water in the door since because we couldnt get anyone out to repair. Within 8 months the drawers in my fridge began cracking... nope, sorry, you have to pay astronomical prices to have those replaced. Within the first 2 years one of the shelves in the door came crashing down when we opened the door. Again, nope, sorry, thats your problem attitude from customer service. Now, our cooktop is horrible. We have the 36 all induction with 6 burners. We NEVER had all 6 working at one time. We call a Viking, get a repairman out... it works for about 2 weeks. Then we are back to 5. Slowly but surely others started going out. We call, we email, we call some more and finally get someone out there. He needs parts. Hes going to order then come back. No, we never hear from him again. We start calling, emailing, calling again. They send another guy out... he needs some parts. Meanwhile, all of this is taking literally years between the calling and emailing. The burners never get fixed. The last time they sent out a repairman, he again did not return. We called again and were greeted with a sorry, your warranty has expired, it will cost you an insane amount to repair. Right now, we are down to 1 burner that sometimes works and sometimes doesnt. We just had our nice kitchen remodeled beautifully so, we wanted to get a nice refrigerator. Ive seen Viking refrigerators in different rental properties weve been in and also, some friends have had it. Weve always had different brands like Westinghouse and KitchenAid and we thought we wanted to step it up a little. We got a Viking and I love it. It looks very nice and the size is beautiful. Weve never had a freezer on the bottom and a double door before. Also, we never had an ice maker before so its very exciting. Viking is a beautiful product and Im very happy with it. I would definitely buy them again.
