Washing machine door gasket leaking but it’s clean and has no holes

My tenant's washing machine's door is leaking slightly.


I cleaned it and did not see any holes.


Is it possible that it has just thinned out over the years? It it almost 20 years old.


If that's the case, is there anything I can cover it with or do I have to just buy a new one?

Answer:


If its leaking from the door down the front of the machine, make sure the glass and gasket are clean of hair - gunk buildup.


Any amount of debris can provide a path for water to leak down the front.
