What is the Best Type of Range to Buy?
Posted On: June 28, 2021

When shopping around for a range, there are a few things to keep in mind.

If you are looking to replacing an existing range, chances are you want to go with the same model as your old one. Choosing the same brand means that it will most likely fit in the original spot, and not much work will be needed to install it.

Gas vs Electric, if you already have a gas line installed, you will probably continue to go with a gas range. While gas ranges have better temperature control, not everyone is comfortable with an open flame, especially if there are young children in the house. However, they are more energy-efficient when compared to electric models.

Electric ranges have their benefits, such as less expensive to install, easier to clean up, especially with a flat top range, and safer to use as an improperly installed gas range can result in a gas leak.

Induction ranges work the same as your standard electric range, only instead of coils, the burners are flat, and heat is directed directly to your pots and pans and not on the stove itself, which means that water will boil much faster and simmering will be more constant.
