What Washer Dryer Set Should I Buy?

Thinking about buying a new washer/dryer (electric) set. I have an old washer that was in my house when I moved in (kinda grossed me out) and it's starting to smell and now the dryer (Maytag) takes 2 to 3 cycles to dry a load.


I had the vents cleaned and it didn't help.


I'm also about to be doing a ton more laundry in about 4 months so I want something efficient and reliable.


I'm not sure about getting Samsung after discovering their planned obsolescence with my last TV and curious what brands you'd recommend?


Edit to add: I see GE, Maytag, Samsung and LG in my budget.


Trying to stay under $2,000 max hopefully less (in the States).
