Why Do My Clothes Take So Long to Dry?

Are your clothes taking too long to dry? Investigate these three areas to find out why.
Check Your Lint Trap
Make it a regular practice to clean out your lint trap after every use. If too much lint builds up, it will take much longer to dry your clothes. Get into the routine of cleaning out your lint trap after every use to keep your dryer running efficiently. If damaged, make sure to replace your lint trap.
Check Your Blower Wheel
If your blower wheel is not firmly attached to the drive motor, it may slip out of place and reduce the airflow used to dry your clothes. A good indication that your blower wheel is loose is if it makes a rumbling noise, so ensure it is tightly secured.
Check Your Drum Seal
The dryer drum acts as a barrier between the drum and the front / rear bulkheads. If your drum seal is torn, then your clothing can become easily stuck in the gap while the dryer drum is turning. If you hear a scraping or thumping noise, this could be the sound of a torn dryer drum.
Check these three areas to find out why your clothes are taking too long to dry.
