The dishwasher malfunctioned and flooded our home. The dishwasher continued to run even with the door open and the display showing “leak detected”. We had started it before we left the house and it had been running for about 20 minutes when we left. When we came home hours later, hot water was still being produced by the dishwasher and had flooded our kitchen and basement. We could not stop the dishwasher with buttons at that point and had turn off electrical and water supply to it. The absolute worst part is they will not replace or refund it even though it’s less than six months old. They are only offering to service it and expect me to continue using it.

We bought a new GE dishwasher Model # GDT655SGJ4WW. Did not work right out of the box, had service guy come and control board was bad! Really brand new dishwasher, 2 weeks to get that fixed, now the soap dispenser door wont stay closed, order part, whats next? Contacted GE about it, waste of time, no quality control and they dont stand behind their product! Stay away from GE, last appliance for me!!!

We purchased a GE over-the-range microwave oven last November 2010 and it was installed in February 2011 when our addition was finished. Last week, it decided to stop responding to instructions. When the door is closed, it just continues to run--the turntable turns, the light stays on and the fan keeps running. It will respond to instructions, but when we want to shut it off if the door is shut, we have to unplug it--which is a real pain because it is over the range. We have an old microwave that was my wifes parents and it still works fine even though it is about 20 years old. The new one stops working in a little more than a year which is not acceptable. We contacted GE and were told that we would have to pay over $100.00 to get the thing fixed. I dont think so. We will not purchase anything GE again.

I purchased the micro from Sears. This is the replacement for one that was provided by the builder. The G.E. now needs replacement. Will work for limited periods of time. I have used it more than my stove to cook chicken, beef and whole meals. I will be replacing it with a new G.E.. The current one has lasted more 10 years with very heavy use.

It is about six years old, great dishwasher. The bad part is the new detergent! GE profile, pre-rinse, preheat water, everything, including enough water. Hold everything, unfortunately, now aluminum must be hand washed. Good looking, curved front. Its great, I shudder to think what the new low water usage ones will be like. I HATE my new low water usage washing machine. I HATE the reformulated dishwasher detergent, can be used on anything aluminum, now I use lots more water hand washing all aluminum items!!!

We bought a GE Profile micro/convection oven in December 2010 (model # PEB1590SM). It was working great until 11-19-2012, when the panel on the right side started to glow bright orange, then burst into flame. I thought my wife was goofy, so I tried to heat a cup of water. It was the same thing; the panel glowed bright orange and then flamed. We waited a week for a GE tech to visit. He said the wave guide is burnt. Its non-repairable so were waiting for disposition from GE service. There wont be another GE micro in this house. P.S. - Were still waiting for the GE case manager to call back after leaving three messages.

We bought a GE dishwasher model GDT720SGFWW thinking that GE was a reliable brand... What a disappointment! The first dishwasher we received was damaged and the door would not close properly. It took a week for GE to send a repair technician who confirmed that the unit was defective beyond repair. It took another week for GE to order a replacement unit and another week to get it delivered. The replacement unit arrived today and guess what? It is also damaged and the door will not close, same problem as the first one! Terrible products, slow service. I will never buy a GE appliance again!

We usually turn on the dishwasher in the night. Last month ours started smelling smoke in the morning 6:00 am. When checked, it was the dishwasher that melted couple of plastic cans and its own sprayer and other plastic parts (pictures speaks for itself). When checked with GE, this model was not under recall (there are other models with similar issues). They sent their technician, who confirmed that newer models has auto turnoff circuit. When I asked GE rep, both (level 1 and her manager) assured me that even though it shows its burnt from inside, it would have contained the fire inside, which I disagree. Even after seeing pics, their tech review and the whole incident, their engineers determined this is not a safety hazard to me or my family.

I bought countertop microwave on 7-2-10 in Panorama City, CA. We were moving to Houston so left it in its original box, but the new apartment had a built-in. I left it in box until May 25, 2011 when we moved into an empty house. I took out my new microwave and used it from 5/25/11 until 12/4/11. I baked a 5- minute sweet potato. Later, I went to reheat coffee and no clock, no nothing. I tried the microwave at different plugs, no response. Then I tried the toaster in the microwaves plug. The toaster was fine so its not the plug. A repairman at his business location said its probably the computer chip. For $95, he would install a new one which would last a lot longer. So now we have disposable GE microwaves.

I own a GE Model #JNM1731DM1CC that came with my condo, in March of 2008. After two weeks, the tray was spinning, and nothing was heating up. They came, and replaced something, and it worked again. It is now November of 2011, and the ** thing doesnt go off. When the timer stops, and you open the door, the table turns, and the microwave is on, letting rays come right out at you. I have to unplug it after every use, so that I dont expose myself to rays coming from the microwave. I spoke with several appliance repair shops, and they told me that it is probably the circuit board, and that to repair it would run at least $200. I am so disgusted with GE. I also have a stove that practically blew up, when the door shattered, after only having it for six months. They had to come and replace the whole glass front. I doubt very much, if they will help me, because it took at least 12 calls to get them to replace the glass door, with the glass all over the place, and inside the oven, four days before Easter dinner at my house.

We bought a new $700+ Stainless Steel dishwasher 10 months ago. It has failed on several occasions, and we have been without a fix or replacement for months. We are forced to have 5 service calls, none of which have fixed it. We have been hand washing for a family of 6 for months now, and GE Consumer Relations is totally unwilling to replace it, but rather continue sending out the same service tech with no new parts or ability to correct the problem. It is the definition of insanity while we are left holding the bag. Totally unwilling to do the right thing and it is maddening to say the least. 3 months of back and forth about our need to have it replaced, and their answer is send another service person who are now 0-5. This is the worst customer experience I have ever had in any situation for anything.

Updated on 12/30/2018: Again had GE up, said it was not the pump as they stated. Hired a plumber as they requested, pipe not blocked. Changed connections and now the machine has no power. Again have to call for repair. I am sure they will have to order a part or tell me to call an electrician. I am so done. Please beware. Do not buy. Still not been able to use my dishwasher going on 4 weeks and brand new.Original Review: Purchased from Home Depot. I have had it for only one month used 4 times. The water did not drain. Called GE Repair. Guy came down, couldn’t figure out what was going on, said it must be the pump or it could be blocked. He went downstairs, could not find the pipe. Been there since 69...said he is going to order part. Waited 1 week. Then he calls me an hour before he was to be here. Mind you I took off work to be there. He said, “Did you have plumber to come in to see if there is a blockage and he needs to show you where the connection is?” Are you kidding me. I told him I am handicapped and having company for Christmas and I need it. He said he can’t come until I hire a plumber as he can’t find the dishwasher connections. Are you kidding?I said, “Can you come and install the pump and if it doesn’t drain then I will call the plumber.” He said no as he can’t find the connection...I am going to put 150 to have a plumber come when I know it’s the pump not a blockage to have the plumber show me where the dishwasher is connected because the idiot can’t figure it out. I said I need it for Christmas. Nobody working until next Wednesday. Do not get a GE. Poor customer service and to break down a few weeks after purchasing is unacceptable. I had A Bosch for 6 years, never a problem. Plus the lower rack tracks already fell apart. I live by myself and does not get much use. I read the reviews and should have known. The only reason I purchased I needed the bisque color. BUYER BEWARE.

I thought that making a purchase of GE products would be a positive experience especially with GE Customer service - should they be needed for resolution of any complaints. Wow... was I wrong! I purchased a GE Microwave (junk), a GE refrigerator (junk & previously submitted a review), a GE Stove (no problem - so far) & a GE Dishwasher (junk) & this review is based on this product. All of the aforementioned GE products were purchased at the same time. The dishwasher began to leak & malfunction. I called GE & they put me through the paces - the beginning of another terrible experience. I was directed by GE & RC Willey to Consumer Electronics who send out a repairman who proceeded to rip me off for 165.00 for a part that didnt work! C.E. denied sending a serviceman to service the dishwasher! I returned to GE for help in getting my dishwasher back in service. The ONLY solution that they offered me was a replacement that I had to purchase! Bottom line the experience cost me close to 675.00!! The Original GE Dishwasher cost me 1,000.00!! GE refused to take the dishwasher back or even give me any type of credit for what I have. What I have now is another GE piece of junk that I had to pay full price for - $550.00 + tax, etc... The washer runs forever - does a terrible job in washing & rinsing & leaves a film & a white powder-like film on the glasses. Ive changed detergents in an effort to get a decent wash out of it & that hasnt worked. I am so sorry that I spent so much money for GEs Top of the Line appliances only to end up frustrated with GE Junk & a Customer Service Department that was just as good as their product. I would NEVER purchase or even think of purchasing another GE product!!! My advice to anyone considering purchasing ANY GE Product is Dont Do It.

GE Cafe Series dishwasher model # CDW9380N20SS is a fire hazard. Three days
GE Cafe Series dishwasher model # CDW9380N20SS is a fire hazard. Three days ago, our GE Cafe Series dishwasher nearly caused a fire. If I had not been home that day, it surely would have. I ran the dishwasher as usual and went about my day several hours later. I detected a strange acrid smell and with my five-year-old who was ill and at home that day, discovered the dishwasher door was burning hot to the touch. I needed a potholder to open the door. Once opened, there was a blast of heat and smoke. I needed to use oven mitts to protect my hands from the heat to pull the racks out and handle the dishes. The heating element did not deactivate at the end of the cycle. If I had not been at home, the house would have been destroyed as all the plastic items on the top rack in the dishwasher melted. In addition the plastic parts of the lower rack, the wheels and their clips; the silverware holder; covers; the clips that hold the pot tins in place were destroyed, to the point that the majority of our silverware was coated with plastic. The plastic on the lower water dispenser has been demolished; it completely melted more than 50% of the plastic covering on the arm and is charred and burned. We are so lucky to still have a home! The door must be kept open. When the door is closed, the element super heats and presents a major fire hazard. We have noticed that there is a recall for similar models with plastic tubs, but ours has a stainless tub. GE needs to broaden the recall to include all these models. This is a serious issue that needs to be addressed immediately. Our GE Cafe Series dishwasher model #CDW9380N20SS was installed on October 1, 2008. I would not be surprised to find that parts from the recall in April 2008 were also used in the Cafe Series. I have discovered in the few days since the DW units malfunction that there are over 1000 complaints listed with similar, even identical complaints, on multiple internet sites with the same problems.

We bought all new GE Cafe kitchen appliances when we remodeled our kitchen
We bought all new GE Cafe kitchen appliances when we remodeled our kitchen 3 years ago. The first Cafe dishwasher needed repairs in the first 3 months, and was replaced within 10 months due to continuing problems. The replacement GE Cafe dishwasher was deemed non-repairable after 2.5 years. The unit has a design flaw and the bracket holding the top water sprayer broke. The extended warranty with Assurant will not cover the dishwasher because they say it is not a working part. We are trying to get GE Customer Care to help but after three weeks the message we are getting is they do not care at all.The front burner on the cooktop will not light. GE cannot get a replacement part so the cooktop was also deemed nonrepairable after only 3 year. Our Cafe refrigerator also has a design flaw. The refrigerator must be unplugged to reset the computer when the water filter is changed. If you dont the refrigerator does not recognize the filter and will not dispense water. Needless to say I will never buy GE again. It is sad to see what was a good company go down the tubes.

I bought a dishwasher 2 1/2 years ago, along with GE fridge, microwave, convection oven for my remodeled kitchen. It was less than a year old, when the dishwasher control board went. GE fixed it for no charge, as it was under warranty. They sent the part, and the repairman was great. A little over a year later, the same thing happened. It is no longer under warranty. I spoke with a supervisor about this. This dishwasher was just over 2 years old, and again, the same thing happened. They were very nice, and sent a man over, after sending the same part in the mail, and again, he was very nice, and I was called to see if everything was to my satisfaction, and it was. I was not charged. It is now a few months later, and the machine will not begin the cycle. The lights are on, blink several times, then finally go off altogether. I did the troubleshooting suggestions, including turning it off via the circuit breaker to reboot, and still nothing. I am so angry. This is a relatively new machine. I am so disgusted that I will never buy another GE appliance, and strangely, I have stock in the company. Its a small amount, but stock nonetheless. What a shame. Now, I have to spend a lot of money on a repair that I should not have to. GE charges $90 just to walk in the door. I was told the second time it would be over $200 to repair a 2 year old machine. It is not the customer support nor repairmen that I am so angry about, rather, it is the ** machine, which is not even 3 years old! The thing is, I always try my best to buy American products, even cars. Before I call in a repairman, I am going dishwasher shopping, in case I decide that it is simply not worth an over $200 repair. I will not be looking at GE.

I called 1800GECARES and they said you either need to have a tech come out or we can replace it. I said Do you mean your solution is that my parents who just spent several hundreds of dollars on your defective appliance should spend several more hundreds of dollars to purchase another one from GE? Why did their last one last over 25 years but this one only lasted around 2-3 years? Why dont you stand by your products? Their response was I can connect you to customer service for further help. They’re always cold and sometimes the peas will pop. There’s never a good medium for all foods at once and if you have any bread or biscuits you have to take it out after 15 seconds. Every other Appliance arrived from Samsung, but my GE dishwasher was a no show. I received a phone call hours later stating they didnt know it was on Backorder and I wont receive it until Aug 11, 2017.I spoke with supervisor Krista because I didnt understand the lack of respect far as not knowing if the 11 was a good day or even so much as an apology! Until I expressed how upset I was! 2 hours later I received a automatic message stating the items it still on Backorder and now its not coming until Aug 17th! I spoke with Home Depot who apparently has nothing to do with the vendor handling and conducting business this way and now I have to go return the product & order a new product.I dont even want GE appliances AT ALL. After calling today being put on hold 30 mins still no supervisor came to the phone. Terrible Customer service and lack of communication of the vendor. Ill be sure to highly encourage my friends and family to not support this Brand! Feeling upset and totally let down. I know this cant be how such a popular brand conducts business.

Paint chips in the food and bare metal exposed can cause arching which in turn can be a potential fire hazard. After researching online I have found that this is not a uncommon problem with GE microwaves. Some have had this issue after 1 year. I contacted GE and told them of the problem and that I felt this was a manufactures defect.GE does not feel that this is a defect problem but advised me not to use the microwave any longer. Their solution was to discard this microwave and purchase a new one. I paid almost $300.00 for the original one plus $20.00 for a mounting kit. I was told that GE would offer me a discount on a new one from $339.93 to $319.93 total. This is not much of a offer considering this should be a obvious manufacturers defect. By ordering another I will have the same problem again. GE needs to stand by their products and admit fault.

I needed a microwave, and researched a lot of brands, some the buttons quit working, others sparked. Found this GE on sale at Lowes about 4 years ago for $29.00 and so far I am very happy with it. I must admit it is a little big, but it works beautifully. It does fit on the counter, so for its size and the price it is a great deal!!!

I had a blow up with my GE microwave which came with 2 metal racks. I used the rack once and the microwave flared up as if I had warmed something on aluminum foil. I removed the racks. The microwave is 2 years old. Last week I warmed a chocolate chip cookie on a paper plate for 10 seconds. Immediately the microwave flared up, the plastic bracket that the shelf rest on burned and melted. I was lucky no one was hurt or a fire resulted. GE came to inspect the microwave and offered to replace it for $258.80. I am arguing with GE. I want them to replace it free of charge. Their own technician tells customers to never use the metal shelves. I maintain that the design or brackets are faulty and GE should stand behind their products. This microwave was always used correctly. Do consumers have any rights at all?

I bought this dishwasher GLDT690TBB-00 on 05/12. Its not even 2 yrs old. I had some minor complaints about how hard it was to fit bowls, how the utensil rack wasnt easily accessible, how long the cycles took, how it had to be vented right after a cycle to keep clean dishes from smelling musty... But I was willing to put up with that. I spent about $700 new. The dishes did come out clean, if I stacked them properly. I only used it when full, about 2x/week, as I am an aging widow & live alone. It stopped functioning a few days ago. Control panel lit up, a little water came in, but no action with spray, etc. Called a local repair company today. They say the control panel is shorted out, and that in turn burned out the motor. The repair cost would have been $524.61. REALLY? Not doing that! Very disgusted. Ill never buy GE again. Last KitchenAid lasted 12 yrs, but as all the repair guys say: They dont make em like they used to! Too many bells & whistles. All I require is clean dishes, and for the appliance to do its job.

GE continually shows us why they are failing as a company. In just this last year I have replaced a less than 5 year old GE microwave, three separates parts to my GE monogram refrigerator, and now this one and a half year old dishwasher. The only appliance that GE makes that hasnt broken is the stove/oven that is over 10 years old and shows no signs of weakening.I purchased the upgraded stainless steel model that contained all the bells and whistles. It lasted 1 year and 3 months before the entire control panel stopped working. We utilized the dishwasher about once a week or once every two weeks in a two person household. Hardly a rough environment for a 700$ appliance. The repair costs was quoted for 99$ just to have GE look at it. The control panel was 140$, plus additional labor. This amounts to over 280$ to repair a year old product. I advise buying LG or Bosch.

First off: GE doesnt make some parts for this model anymore. The unit is large compared to many others; the upper tray provides adjustable height; one of the set of spikes in the upper tray rusted out because of inadequate plastic coating, and no replacement was available from GE; the control panel on the top edge of the door failed within warranty period and was replaced free; the holes in the rotating arms that spew water upwards onto the dishes must be cleaned with tweezers to remove bits of paper from labels. Those are all the negatives. The positives are that it is very quiet; a cycle takes about an hour; it cleans dishes well so long as they are not hidden from the water jets; pre-rinsing can help but is not necessary. I would buy it again.

I also purchased the GE Profile dual-fuel range, **, and the Profile ** refrigerator at the same time.I am now having to replace the over-the-range microwave as the interior enamel is chipping off in chunks rather than the discreet amounts in the beginning. I purchased a GE microwave, model LVM1750DPWW, in 2012. It was delivered approximately 12/6/2012 and was installed in July 2013 after our kitchen remodel was complete. In March 2014, my daughter was warming something on the rack when the back upper rear hook started sparking and caught fire. I am thankful the only damage was to the microwave and to the smell in the house for a few days. When I called Lowes and GE, they act like theyve never heard of this issue. Yet, I see many other complaints of the hooks catching fire. Just to be sure, I turned on the microwave again. The hook started sparking immediately. GE sent a repairman to the house who told me that GE ought to let people know not to leave the racks in the oven. Since she was cooking on the rack, it would be difficult not to have the rack in the oven. He said the oven was a safety concern, could not be repaired and that GE would bring out a new microwave and install it for me. Great! I was pleased - yet concerned. A couple days later, I received an email from GE customer service saying that we had put the rack in the oven incorrectly. There is NO way to have put it in incorrectly. Besides that, he couldnt have seen if this was true since the hook was burnt and melted. I am pretty angry.

I just dont know how to start to show how disappointed and upset Im about this Microwave. I know GE is good brand but this Microwave must be the worst. I bought this microwave between July or August in 2016. Unfortunately, I lost the receipt. I bought a cash at Home Depot in my area, because I bought it cash Home Depot unable to find a record of but they remembered I did buy there between that time. I know bought that time because I bought my house in July 20116. This microwave started giving problems since June 2017. When I call GE they told me, they cant help because I dont a receipt, and they told from their record, this microwave was purchase in January 2015, they didnt want to believe that I purchased it in 2016.They charged over $100 to have a technician to come, he has to order a part that cost as well over $100, when the part comes another technician came. It was the wrong part. He had to order another part. The technician came back and Microwave work for only 1 or 2 months and stop working. Its been very stressful with this Microwave. This microwave was the most expensive, I bought over $500-600. Even though from your record you said I bought it in 2015, it still unfair, no one expect to buy something that expensive and break down that fast. I dont what to do. Im just so frustrated about the whole situation. This microwave cost me about $ 1,000 now from price to repair, and yet still not working. I wish someone reply to me and help me, if no one help I never wish to buy a GE product. So Sad GE, I need HELP.

The GE MICROWAVE MODEL JVM6175EF1ES was manufactured in August 2015. I purchased it in November of 2015, brand new from Home Depot. It was not installed until April 2016. So less than 2 years after installation it malfunctioned. (The unit brand new only has a 1 year warranty). The parts the tech replaced have a 5 year warranty. That demonstrates to me that GE does not have a lot of faith in their appliances. Aside from that I paid $375 for the repair, thats almost the price of a new microwave. But I paid since it made more sense to have a 5 year warranty on the parts instead of a 1 year with a brand new unit. I WILL NOT be buying GE products in the future due to this product defect.

GE Model PDW9280J10SS Fire - Many GE Profile dishwashers have been recalled during the same time frame as the model we purchased, but it is not listed as one of the recall models. Just as many other complaints, ours started to smoke out of the top of the front door and filled our house with smoke. Thank God we were there to shut it off. The next day I opened up the front door to see what had been burning and it had holes burnt in front and back of the main circuit box (for lack of better name), one burn mark right where the main wire harness plugs in and burnt right through it. This is the same description many others have written. There is a problem with all of these Profile dishwashers purchased between 2006 and 2009 (ours 2007). This morning, I opened it to remove the remaining dishes. I closed the door to it and left for work. I did not run it again, just emptied it. My husband came home about an hour after I left to a house filled with smoke and the smell of melted plastic. He opened the dishwasher and found everything inside melted. The spinners, the silverware holder and all the plastic rack dividers were totally melted.Apparently, the heating element stuck on and overheated it. If he hadnt come home when he did, I believe our home would have caught fire. He said the whole kitchen was much hotter than the rest of the house. The service repair man said it cant be fixed because it got so hot it melted the seals in the motor. It was not a wiring problem with the house. It was a problem with the dishwasher itself. In January 2013, my husband and I purchased new appliances from Home Depot, including the above referenced dishwasher. The first dishwasher was delivered broken. The display panel was detached from the body of the dishwasher. At that point, I was concerned about the quality of the product. From the way it was detached, it appeared to be very cheaply made. (It was also installed incorrectly, causing a leak under our sink and ruining the bottom of our cabinetry. We settled this with Home Depot, but I include this detail to help emphasize my frustration over this whole situation.)When I contacted Home Depot about the faulty product, they agreed to provide a replacement, so I decided to give it another try. I wish now that I had simply returned the product and purchased another brand. Upon receiving the new dishwasher, I noticed immediately that the edge of the inner rack was scratched so badly that the plastic coating was gone, and rust had already begun to appear. I had to call customer service and get replacement racks. (More on this to follow.) Allow me to detail our service call records:Call #1. Heat dry didnt work at all. The technician told me that I needed to run the water in the sink and make sure it was very hot before running the dishwasher, and he changed the settings. This created a slight improvement, but not much.Call #2. Soon after, detergent tabs started to get stuck in the dispenser cups. I was using the exact brand recommended in the manual. The technician told me that detergent tabs were just the worst, and that I should try gel detergent, even though this is contrary to what the manual states. The detergent ruined my silverware, and I have had to purchase a new set, which I now hand wash.Call #3. Using gel detergent did not work. Technician came back, and told me the wrong replacement racks were sent. That must be what was blocking the water from getting to the soap. He ordered another replacement rack. He brought a plastic door, watched the water, and told me the upper arm wasnt spinning fast enough. He made an adjustment and claimed to fix that.Call #4. Detergent still not emptying from the cup. A different technician came back and used the plastic door. He found a different problem, but did not have the parts to fix it, so, another service call had to be scheduled.Call #5. Technician comes back, and finally fixes the detergent cup problem. For now.Call #6. Heat dry now does not work at all. There is so much water on the dishes that I have to hand dry them, and afterward, I have to mop my floor. There is just a massive amount of water in the dishwasher. In addition, it will not start except on a one-hour delay. Pushing the delay button does nothing to change the settings, and does not allow me to scroll through like it should. This appointment is scheduled for today, but I am not hopeful that anything will change. At this point, I have no faith that this dishwasher will ever work. Customer service did extend my warranty for six months, but that is the only concession I have gotten from them. That extension will expire soon, and I fear that at that point I will simply have to spend another $600 on a new dishwasher and leave this one on the curb. Its unacceptable for any consumer to have to purchase a new dishwasher less than two years after purchasing from GE.

I never imagined that a microwave in my new home would be rendered useless after 2.5 years. Like many of you, my control panel stopped working and the floor of the oven was extremely hot to touch. Heres the weird part. You can hit the number for timed cook, but youd have to let it heat the entire time. If you open the door, you cannot restart it. You have to unplug it to reset. Of course, I called GE customer service, who gave me the same spiel about $80 service call, plus repair and parts. Thanks to your candid remarks, I will not be purchasing another GE appliance.

I am very pleased with its functionality, its power and its appearance. I got it on sale so the price was good as well. I have had GE microwaves in the past and found them to be reliable appliances. I will most likely purchase another when the time comes to replace this one.

We bought a brand new GE kitchen. We put all GE in the new kitchen. The hood/microwave/convection oven broke in 9 months. We had service out, and they wanted the same amount we paid for it to repair it. My husband is an engineer and he got it to limp along. Then in September, it broke and cracked up. All the control panel cracked and broke. It does not work. We called GE. They said to get a replacement. We went to Sears and bought a similar unit as the original has been discontinued. We were assured of a credit towards the new one. A credit would not be issued. Gary ** has continually called my home but not my cell. He reached me today in school, a Special Ed behavioral unit, and started yelling at me over the phone. He said that I did not provide serial numbers. I have many times. He said there is no record of my complaint. I have called, emailed and written at least 3 times providing all information. We just want a credit for the original unit. We have provided sales slips, etc. Please help.

Ive had my GE dishwasher for about 20 years. Any appliance that lasts that long deserves praise. It does make some noise but thats to be expected. Drying time is efficient and dishware and glassware come out spotless.

I purchased 5 new GE Appliances delivered June 1, 2014. Within the first 2 weeks, the dishwasher wouldnt drain and had the repairman out to fix it. Within the next 2 weeks, the door wouldnt stay closed and had the repairman come. He took the rubber off around the door so that the door would close and said he was not familiar with GE dishwashers and would go to showroom and look at it and come back. I said as long as I dont have a flood. He assured me that the water only fills up so far and would not leak. Within the next 2 weeks, I was downstairs and heard water running and it was pouring through the ceiling. I ran upstairs and very hot water was all over my kitchen and pouring through the floor into the basement. The unit malfunctioned and wouldnt shut off. I had to shut off the water to the DW and run to the electrical panel to shut off power. I then had to call insurance to get a restoration company to dry out and fix my house. I phoned Arkona Appliances to let them know and they gave me a toll free number to call for GE. The toll free number when you call you are on hold for at least an hour to talk to a receptionist which puts you on to someones voicemail. I was on hold for one hour the first time and one hour and eleven minutes the second time and begged to get a direct line for future calls. Reluctantly, the receptionist gave it to me. The technician had to come out and assess the dishwasher and said I needed a new dishwasher and sent the report in Friday, August 1. Because of the long weekend, I waited to call until Wednesday and they said they didnt receive the report. She asked me whether it was emailed or faxed - how would I know. Then she found the report and said I would get a new dishwasher Wednesday, Aug 13 or the 20th. Still havent heard anything. If received next week, it will have been 5 weeks from the time of the flood I have been washing dishes by hand. Awful customer service from retailer as well as GE. Problems dont go away they just get worse. Initially upset - NOW I AM FURIOUS!!!

I purchased a microwave in Oct 2010. It went blank and nothing works. I checked to see if its receiving power. The power is okay. I purchased the microwave, fridge and stove at the same time. I always had confidence in GE products. Microwave should have lasted longer than less than 2 years. I didnt purchase extended warranty because of GEs reputation. Very dissatisfied customer.

I purchased a GE Dishwasher about two and a half years ago. Recently, we found there was a small leak in the solenoid motor which caused damage to my floor. I looked up for the model number and it is not on the recall list. Now, I have to call the repairman. This should have never happened in two years. What is GE going to do about this?

I purchased a GE dishwasher on March 15th 2018... The first dishwasher I received on March 23rd was obviously broken. The dishwasher setting piece was completely broken off and the sides were dented and looked like it had been dropped. Ok. The delivery guys immediately called it in and reordered another one for me. A week later the second dishwasher came, it looked fine from the outside so I signed for it. Once I opened it I saw that the top rack was missing wheels and the second shelf wasnt even connected to the dishwasher. I called and a week later they came and got it and left a new one. I asked the delivery guys to unpackage it and look inside. Immediately the top arm cycle fell off and the HE symbol at the bottom popped out. They assured me that was normal... When the install guy arrived a week later he said he thought everything looked ok. He ran a cycle, then left. Before he was out of my driveway the cycle arm/water sprayer fell off and water sprayed everywhere... I brought the piece into Home Depot and they told me it was broken (duh) and they would order a new one. NO. This was going to be the fourth time I will be taking off work to deal with this dishwasher! GE is absolutely gone down. The products being produced are either being sabotaged by the employees from the Ohio plant, who are all losing their jobs because the plant is about to get shut down and is going to be moved to Mexico or GE is absolutely horrible at business, design and producing quality appliances.Regardless, I will NEVER purchase a GE product again and would never recommend to anyone to purchase a GE appliance! I am going to get a refund and insist compensation and inconvenience fees! I had to take off work 4 Times, had to cancel plumbers 3 times (still was charged). I lost money from my work, time from life and a month without a dishwasher. Also, a month with a broken one sitting in my living room because they wouldnt come get the 2nd and 3rd broken dishwashers until a I ordered another one and had that one delivered before they got the broke one(s) out of my house. I had broken dishwashers sitting in my living room for a month. Easter was quite embarrassing with an appliance next to the table to say the least. DO NOT PURCHASE GE APPLIANCES!!!

Adora Microwave - door falling apart: This microwave is supposed to be installed above a range. The materials are not suited to this. The plastic door has disintegrated. We have got through 2 handles. I took the 2nd one off to replace it and the plastic that holds the glass in place just disintegrated onto the floor along with much other plastic parts. Why is the door plastic in the first place if they cannot make it from a heatproof material? Only 4 years old and we are going to have to junk it. When the first handle failed under warranty GE said that it was not covered as it is a plastic part! They finally covered it after a long conversation.

Ive been battling this dishwasher since it arrived 9 years-ago. It was a warranty replacement we were stuck with from GE. Plus, we paid $300. We could never get it to clean dishes, no matter how we loaded it or what we used, so we gave up and hand washed dishes for years. This year, I am committed to getting the dishwasher working because of hand eczema. I took it apart and cleaned the sprayer arms, filter & wiped it down completely. I also ran a dishwasher cleaner through it. I finally got it to clean dishes, but only if they are thoroughly rinsed first and on the Pots/Pans setting. After a month, it stopped cleaning my dishes again. I took apart the dishwasher again, and cleaned everything. Now, glasses on the upper rack in the back are not all getting clean. I never overload it. Im convinced that GE Dishwashers are just junk. Someday, Id love to find a dishwasher that actually works. :-( Frustrated!!!

Purchased this dishwasher March of 2015. We have had at least five service calls because it does not clean the dishes. Glasses with just water in them when they went in the dishwasher come out dirtier than they went in. Residue is worse on the glasses, but other dishes are not getting completely cleaned. Forget it if something is stuck on, if you dont prewash, you are washing them again. GE has replaced numerous pieces, blamed our water was too hard until they found out we had a water softener and water system and then blamed that instead. We have changed soaps (five different brands), tried every setting in multiple ways, turned off the water system and just had the water softener run, turned everything off and nothing improves the quality of the clean. GE has even refused to pay the service technicians that they GE sent out to repair the dishwasher. Now we cant get anyone to come look at it because they are afraid they wont get paid. We have had three dishwashers prior to this one and have never had an issue with the dishes coming clean. We have maintained that there is not enough water pressure to rinse the dishes, but they are adamant this is not the case. Regardless, the dishes are still not coming clean. All we want is for it to be fixed, replaced or our money refunded. GE customer service is terrible.

GE Profile Microwave/Convection Oven JVM1790WK, over the range unit, CAUGHT ON FIRE while microwaving water for coffee. One of the four prongs that holds the oven grid in place started flaming wildly and smoking after about one minute of microwaving. My whole kitchen has an acrid awful burning smell. This is my second unit for a small kitchen, and I will be lost without this. The first one I had the handle fell off. This one is too dangerous to use. These units cost $600!!! I cannot afford to replace one every few years. Maybe this model and brand is bad news?

We have a full size counter top GE microwave. It is about 3 years old and there have been no problems. Our last microwave was also a GE and it lasted about 15 years before it started to suffer from occasional electrical arcing inside, while in use. We simply stopped using it and after reviewing all models, chose to buy another GE and it has been great. We have an over the range micro at our summer home - a Frigidaire and not as good. Our research shows it will likely fail long before the GE.

I have had 2 of GE microwaves, above the range models. Both the same model, but different years. One stainless finish and one almond. They are almost exactly the same. They are efficient, and I like the carousel for even cooking. But I would like it if the light bulbs under unit were easier to replace.

I loaded and ran the GE Profile dishwasher in the evening. Later that evening, putrid odor of undetermined origin was noted in the house. I searched throughout house to find the cause, but it was not located. The next morning, the dishwasher was found to be extremely hot on the outer surface (door) and countertop. The heated dry light was on along with the start button, which would not reset or turn off. The unit had to be disconnected by turning the electrical breaker off. All contents were either melted or had a strange brown film, along with broken tines and melted silverware rack in the dishwasher. Even the water dispenser in the bottom of the dishwasher was melted or broken. A GE service representative was called and his report stated: Unit was left on for too long and heat caused excessive damage to the product. Due to excessive damage, unit is non-repairable. He shared with me he had never seen this much damage done to a dishwasher. I spoke to GE consumer advocates twice and their solution is to provide me a discounted price on a new appliance and the email address for formal complaints. When I inquired about if there had been resolution to the cause of this problem because I wanted to make a formal complaint, I was told there is not a safety issue with the heating unit. I then spoke to a GE resource person in recall and she shared with me that it is a known issue of overheating and destroying contents, but it has not caused a fire. Igniting a fire is a justification for a recall - can we not be proactive? This department is working with me and ensured that in newer models this potential hazard does not exist. But other consumers who have purchased in this model (PDW9280N20SS) should be aware of the potential fire hazard. Everything was very hot inside and out. Consequences: the 3-year-old dishwasher (that I use about once per week) was totally ruined and I inhaled potentially toxic fumes for over 8 hours.

My GE Profile Dishwasher was serviced 2 years ago for a faulty electronic control pad. It made starting the dishwasher a complete gamble, you never knew when it would actually turn on. I paid a couple hundred dollars to fix this problem 2 years ago and of course it has stopped working once again. So frustrating! GE decides to replace one bad part for another bad part. I then asked for the service call to be covered since it was obviously the same problem but they refused. So, GE am I to keep paying $89 for service fees so that you can keep replacing one faulty part for another? STAND BY YOUR PRODUCT!
