My LG oven has required 2 repairs; the circuit board on warranty, and now the hidden baking element gave out one week before Christmas. I called LG and quickly connected with a representative. This was my experience: Four lengthy attempts for her to get the serial number etc... She continually reversed the numbers (Id say 486 and shed repeat 864 sort of thing). And these numbers are located in the most awkward location for a person to read!!!I explained the preheat could not reach its goal, and she tried to explain to me how important preheating was to ensure best baking results! I told her my baking skills were not the issue, it was the oven could not heat up!!! She told me to ensure the date on the front panel was correct. I told her my panel did not include the date. She had the manufacture date wrong... I decided to call a local repair service, they arrived the same day, and the repair will be done before Christmas, at half the cost, done by a reasonable capable service person. In summary, whenever I need a new oven, it will be a Samsung.

Well, Ive finally had it with this machine. We bought it & the matching electric dryer from former homeowners when we bought their house. Guess we should have done more research into the plethora of problems these sorry excuse for an appliance really have. These junkers wouldve been out on the road the second we moved in. First, within a month the dryer died. One morning I turned it on & it started smoking, so that was that. Out to the curb! Next, we had been using the LG steam washer for about 4 months & continually noticed water on the floor around it. Never really found where it was coming from other than a drip streak down the side around the detergent drawer where you add the soap/bleach. Another issue was the door lock kept malfunctioning & wouldnt let the load run unless you either slammed the door shut or put pressure on it with your knee when it was trying to lock. Then the thing would sound like a 747 taking off when it was in spin mode. It would shake violently & eventually wake up the baby with its deafening whir. Finally, it showed an error message saying the pump wasnt able to drain the tub because of a clog or something. So I got on my hands & knees to screw open the drain trap & 5 gallons of water came gushing out all over the floor. There is a small rubber hose down there also, but when I took out the plug on the end of it no water drained out. What gives LG? Do you need a wet/dry vac at the ready to do this procedure or a stack of towels so you dont trash the floor? Very poor design! And doing this did absolutely nothing. Same error code came up & the pump just sickly rumbled. So it is now out on the curb also awaiting a trip to the dump where it belongs. Please, everyone, do not buy these piece of refuse appliances from LG. You will only bring upon yourself great pain & grief. Time to break out the old GE top loader that I know works fine. Glad I held onto it for back up. DONT BUY LG!!!

December 2014 I purchased a LG French Door Refrigerator Model # LMXS530776S. Within a few days of delivery I noticed the refrigerator would stay cold. After fighting with them for two months it was replaced in Feb 2015. Now the replacement has stopped working. Freon leaking, bad motherboard, bad compressor and evap system. LG and retailer Pacific Sales division of Best Buy not doing anything to replace a $4000 purchase.

Bought the LG LFC24786st from Sears exactly 3 years ago this week. At the 1 1/2 year point the motherboard and fan needed replacing. Really WTF, a year and a half. Oh well, it was under warranty. Yesterday it happens again. Right now the fridge is sitting at 54 degrees, the freezer is warmer because we had to remove everything. Really now, 2 motherboards in three years plus the Sears extended warranty is no longer any good because of the closing even though I still have 2 years left. This is really looking like LG Lemon fridges are not the way to go. I see from above that its not so much a model of the fridge but the make that keeps breaking. Ill tell you something, this is hitting the internet big time. Im frustrated, pissed off, and right now... fridgeless.

I purchased an LG refrigerator double door, bottom freezer ice maker and its non working after only 6 months and have called repeatedly for service... its under warranty. They first sent someone out that doesnt even work on refrigerators and now going into week 3 saying they will call in 2 business days to schedule. And the more I called its now 3 to 5 business days just to get an appointment set which hasnt happened yet! Ive thrown out hundreds of dollars in food! I never have bought LG in the past. Always stuck with Samsung and I should have not ever switched brands... lesson learned. I feel like since they cant get a service person out here a full replacement should be in order and when I said I DID want to do a survey I was never given that call. When I told the man on the phone I wanted to make a complaint... he said, Maam other than it not working what do you need to complain about? And did not send me to another extension to even do that or take a formal complaint himself. What the heck is with this company. I will NEVER buy this brand again in any product...

Door in door latch mechanism fails to function 95% of the time, defeating the purpose because handle opens both doors at once. Design flaw causes frustration every time we open the fridge. Would not recommend. Have had handle repaired once, shortly after installation, and technician assured it was normal for it to be a bit sticky and it would improve with use. After a year, I can say the only thing that has improved is my desire to replace this refrigerator.

Purchases an LG Refrigerator in June 2020. Refrigerator started making loud knocking noise. Reached out to Customer Service and they said they can come out on January 4th. Next day I wake up to an error code on the refrigerator and run a diagnosis through their app and tells me the fan motor needs attention, so I call back to see if I can get an earlier appointment. I am told they can cancel the first appointment and get me another appointment set up. So they do and now they are telling me they cant come out until January 5th. Service representative supervisor has zero cares and wouldnt even give me his name and cant understand him at all during the call. I asked to speak to another supervisor that I can understand and refused to transfer me. Then proceeded to ask to speak to his supervisor and he says he can have one call me back but cant promise if I will get a call back. Horrible customer service on their part and I am now hoping my fridge does not go out before they come out.

It is ridiculous to have to dry the washer out each time it is used. The door is hard to open and so low to the ground I have injured my back. You have to clean out the little holes at the bottom of the gray piece. It holds lint. The dryer door is very hard to open. We took the light bulb out so I only have to open the door when dryer has been used. The washer and dryer doors are always open to permit me from having to lean over and pull the doors open. I have had back surgery since we got the washer and dryer and I was fine before the purchase. I will never buy an appliance from LG again!

Weve had an LG washer (model WT5170HV) for about two years. We are having our second major problem with this machine. This time it is not stopping! It will start with saying 52 minutes for the full washing cycle and take almost three hours to complete. Needless to say, the repairman is coming out. I do not recommend purchasing an LG washing machine. Repair calls are expensive. If this repair is more than a couple hundred dollars, were dumping this machine and buying something else.

Our LG fridge is about 5 years old and it has died. I can understand that things can go wrong but the customer service at LG is terrible. They are extremely rude! We have had to take two days off work and it still isnt fixed. We were told the freon leaked out and the company had to address this problem. We spoke to several people at customer service and they were nasty. We have been without a fridge for two weeks and there is no end in sight. We are starting from scratch and have to be home between 10-2 tomorrow for a second service person to come out. They arent going to fix it! Just look at it! So we will likely have to take a third day off work if we are lucky enough to get anyone out to actually fix it. My husband was just recently diagnosed with cancer. The tumor is causing lots of pain. Ice packs help a bit but of course we have no way to keep them cold. This has been a real hardship! I would never buy another LG product. They have no respect for their customers and do not stand behind their products.

The refrigerator was also on sale for a great price. I would recommend this product to friends and family. It had most of the features I was looking for. I have been very happy with all the features of this product and cannot think of any thing that I would change or add. LG products are very well made. I looked at several other brands and styles and choose the LG. I really liked the sleek look. The shelving layout was better than what I was looking for and the price was great. I was very happy with this product. I would say all my expectations and then some were met.

We purchased our LG washer the summer of 2014. The washer worked great until we started noticing rust forming around the bleach dispenser. Now, every time I wash sheets or blankets they come out with rust stains! Subsequent washing does not remove the rust, therefore it is ruined. We have only had this washer for 6 years and considering that we have an Amana dryer that still works after almost 13 years (and was much cheaper btw) does not speak well to the quality issue with the LG washer.

Technician returned, could not fix but broke full panel of glass in the fridge. So now drawer does not close properly and there is no shelf. Apparently parts were ordered. Called LG to discuss replacing unit, got escalated to an idiot name Garret who was useless and would not give his managers name. Apparently his name is Kuzi. He does not have a last name or a phone number - its all confidential - not really sure what LG is paying him for if he is the escalation they have for customers. Worst I have ever dealt with. While under regular warranty the electronic face panel had to be replaced. From then on it has been downhill. Today May 1st 2014 we were told that the 5th fan must be replaced in the unit again. We went for months without the freezer and ice. Would never buy an LG product again.

Do NOT buy an LG dryer (DLG4971). I hardly had the dryer a month until it stopped heating. I was not going to be at the house where the dryer is for another 5 months so LG extended the warranty until I could get back to fix it. The igniter, valve and thermostats were replaced in May and in December the dryer doesnt heat AGAIN. Of course the dryer is out of warranty now and Lowes tells me the parts are under warranty for only 30 days. So my 1.5 yr old dryer is broke again. I dont like the LG washer either. I purchased an LG Refrigerator 3 to 4 years ago with Model Number LFC21760ST and Serial Number **. Within 6 months time, the plastic shelves in the top refrigerator broke. The company replaced them with the same shelves after I called to complain. Within 6 more months or so, the same shelves broke again, then the long tray shelf cracked completely in two pieces. I did not call to complain as there was no point in asking for more junk replacement parts. This morning, when I opened the refrigerator, the light box had fallen and the contents of my refrigerator were hot from the two hanging light bulbs. I called the company service number above and was told this is a common problem and theyll come out to fix the light bulb box only, not all the broken flimsy plastic shelves. How can I warn consumers not to buy this product? It is just my husband and I who use this refrigerator, and it has not been abused. This was not an inexpensive product, yet it was constructed with junk materials. Please advise buyers to beware of this LG product line. Thank You,Jeanne

After approx . 6 month of normal use, the plastic that covers the display start to become opaque and few weeks later broke and Then keeps breaking and breaking and becoming not transparent due the heat like dull and I contact LG. They said they do not cover anything the will of god and/or cosmetic issues. I think the person does not know that the plastic should able to bear the heat at least for 5 years, this is a defective design. The surface of the stove gets hot and the vapor now can go inside the display panel. This is not cosmetic issue, it is a functional issue. If the color is fading or scratch on the paint or the glass of the oven gets dirty, this is a cosmetic issue. If the glasses broke besides being a cosmetic issue has a protective function. At the time of the warranty, they do not explain this.

We had a terrible experience with LG Refrigerators. A couple of years ago, we bought an LG fridge. At the time, we liked the style. Then it went out when it was only two years old and wouldnt cool the food. The issue was the compressor, which had a 10-year warranty on it. They put a new one in, but the new one wouldnt work. It took a long time for them to get back in touch with me. They told us that they would send someone over to the property and they would try and fix the fridge, three different times. After the third time, they said they wanted the tech to try some other things and made the tech come back at least two more times. All of it was dragged out. Each time, it took a whole week before they even got over to the property. We had tenants in the property and it took LG a month and a half to finally tell us they couldnt fix it. They gave us a new fridge but by that time, the renters had moved out because they had no fridge. It was a disaster. Plus, they wouldnt give us money for the tenants food loss. They said I either get a fridge or get the loss of food. They wont do both.

I also bought a pair of LG appliances (washer and dryer). What a mistake, to say the least. I cannot even find service for these appliances in my area, due to the low quality of this product. It takes 3 cycles of 1:10 minutes to dry a normal load of clothes. I have to add vinegar to a load of sweats, to help with the smell. That is on top of a fabric softener. My experience with LG is good, but since we bought our fridge, about two weeks later, the ice making part freezes. And then something happened where they had to come and change some part on the top of the box that was not making the ice. You press the button, and they wouldn’t come out. They had to change something right after not even a month after we bought. LG always are good because we have a washer and dryer LG. So, when I went to Costco and I saw the refrigerators over there, I liked the way they look. Also, theyre nice because the ice maker was on the door and not inside of the refrigerator. We needed a bigger space refrigerator. This is how I picked mine. I like the way how it’s designed in it. The freezer part of it is great. It has several layers. And the drink drawer is perfect. So, it’s very well-designed and made. I love it. I will recommend LG.

DANGEROUS MICROWAVE! Not even a year old and some interior paint chipped after approx. 6 mos. of this brand new LG Microwave. It caused sparking and smelled like something was burning. It more than likely could have caught fire if I didnt catch it right away by pressing Stop on the control panel. There was exposed metal inside around the door area where the paint chipped. I didnt return it cause I lost the receipt (I have bank info cause I paid with my Debit Card). I never purchase insurance cause I have been ripped off so much with that. I cant afford to buy another microwave so I put some appliance paint on the chipped area let it dry overnight. It did work, however a few months later it chipped and again MORE SPARKING in a different area. Repeated the process with the appliance paint and again it worked. Shouldnt have to worry about this. I dont walk away when using this microwave cause its DANGEROUS!I was also unhappy with this LG Microwave due to it being LOUD, HARD TO SEE CONTROL PANEL, COOKS VERY HOT (OVERCOOKS USING THE CONTROL PANELS TIMED COOKING & TEMP eg... Potatoes, Popcorn etc. I did read reviews prior to purchasing and some of the issues can be overcome, however not the FIRE HAZARD ISSUE! I was surprised to see 4-5 star reviews. Fairly new front loader, LG wm2801hwa, opened its door mid-cycle. I had a flooded kitchen and laundry room. When it was discovered, the machine was observed to continuously flooding water out of its (then open) front door. The water valves had to be closed and the machine had to be unplugged. LG was contacted directly and a service man was sent out. The D.G. Appliance representative indicated that the machine had an assortment of problems, including the main controller. The machine even flooded the kitchen and laundry room again, as the payment for the service call was being processed, for he left the valves on after his inspection.I consider this machine new since it was purchesed about a year and a half ago. I expected LG to step up to the plate here and provide a reasonable response. The door on a front loader should never open like that. Much property damage was avoided only by luck in discovering the flood in time, and diverting the water away from wood and carpeted areas. I followed up with D.G. later that afternoon and learned that they didnt bother reporting the problem to LG. I called LG (again) and found no relief, since the machine was out of warranty.

We have a LG4801CW top loader washing machine that has had a slow leak we just discovered, as there was never water visible on the side or front of washer to indicate leaking. However, overtime water has been leaking out of the back of the tub as far as a plumber can tell going behind the washer and under our trim and tiles/sub floor. After a year and a half of having the washer we noticed two of our tiles had cracked by the washer. When my husband pulled up the tiles, we found mold and water in the sub floor around the washer and more cracked tiles hiding behind the washer. We have contacted LG and they wanted to charge us to come fix THEIR FAULTY PRODUCT that was 1.5 years old because it was no longer under warranty. Pretty sad when they dont stand by a product that is 1.5 years old. They were supposedly reviewing our case and would get back to us in 3-5 days, yet have not and we have called them several times and it has been a lot longer than 5 business days. I feel like we are getting the runaround and Im sick of having a torn up house. Because of the damage to our flooring and since we have an open floor plan this has resulted in ~10,000k in flooring we have to tear up because we cant just replace one section. They no longer make our tile and we are out of extras. The plumber that came out said dont buy LG products as the design is too new and are very frequently faulty.

Bought a LG LFX25973ST French Door fridge 1/14 from Lowes. We went on a 2-week vacation last month and came home on a Thursday to a warm fridge/freezer. Dont know how long it had been off. It has a smart feature so I called LG and she ran me through the diagnostic, asked all the pertinent questions and since was out of warranty I could buy $275 package for fixing (parts/labor) the fridge with a 6-month warranty. She set up a repair appt for Tuesday, 5 days out. Very poor English, she was hard to understand. The guy came Tuesday and I knew I had a problem when he called the shop to ask what wires he needed to test. He was just the troubleshooter, could not fix the problem, a bad compressor. He had to go back to the shop and send LG the report, which he did, and we would hear from LG further instructions. Long story short 4 more days and no call from LG so we call them. We get major attitude. Very nasty woman tells us basically Youll just have to wait until can find a CERTIFIED tech. Day 11 we go to Lowes and buy a basic fridge for our garage. $400 thank you LG.Guy was great and looks up our original purchase of the broken fridge and says You bought an extended warranty. I know... dont laugh. So we canceled the LG contract (rate $100) and started working with Lowes. Much better service, English speaking CS people, $$ for lost food. Great, right? We get set up for a service call the next day. Ends up being a no call, no show. When we call them it ends up being the same business that LG sent out. We find out they cant fix a bad compressor. It must be a CERTIFIED tech. Closed system, dangerous gas, chance of fire. OMG.We live in Phoenix and there is just ONE certified tech in the whole metro area. They are 30 miles away and have a worse service record than LG. The customer reviews are horrible: poor work, no shows for service calls and rude employees. We are now on day 14 with a dead fridge in our kitchen. I always looked up reviews on performance of an appliance. Im now also now going to research repair and customer service. This is ridiculous that LG can hold a whole city hostage like this by not having more certified techs. I will add to this review as we progress, but Im not very optimistic. Im scared to death my other appliances, dishwasher, oven and microwave, never have a problem!

A friend gave me a used LG Tromm washer. It never worked correctly - kept getting a DE error or a de error. Replaced door sensor, cleaned out drain, had two different professionals repairman come and one handyman twice - still not repaired. LG says they cant do anything because their model number sticker wore off. Unbelievable.

DEAR LG I REGRET TO INFORM YOU THAT SAMSUNG IS BETTER THAN LG, I HAVE WORST EXPERIENCE FROM YOUR COMPANY OR SERVICE... If anyone wants to buy fridge or any product from LG so I request you THINK before purchase, otherwise go to another company but never purchase LG product.. Their service was too much bad, actually we are buy one double door fridge from Nov. 2017, and Nov 2021 cooling problems and they come or take a charge for gas refueling 2800, and after 15 days same problems again and not again its again and again. Then they decided to take that fridge take to lg service center in the middle of Jan 2022, and whenever we call to service center they said only two words, We will inform you within 2 days. But never we got update... And again we call March 11 and they call back us and said, Your fridge was not working. Some cooling issues, and immediately we asked now what, AND THEY SAID, WE WILL CUT OFF 75% AMOUNT AND WE REFUND 25%. And my fridge was arounds 28,000 price when we purchase... Now Im asking to LG My fridge was now 4 years only then how said and where you got this rules 75% cut off the amount, Shame on you LG, SAMSUNG WAS BETTER THAN YOU FROM THE SERVICE....

LG refused to acknowledge that major repairs 15 months after purchase of a washing machine is a problem. They had no interest in helping me after calling the company. Water leaked out of multiple cracks in the drainage tubing and flooded my floor. The repairman said LG often has many quality problems and highly recommended to never buy any LG products as the company does not stand behind them. I will never buy another LG product again.

The refrigerator stopped working. The motor ran constantly to the point the back lower panel where it is located became overheated. Lost everything there was in the refrigerator and freezer. Have gone without one for over a week. Contacted LG who said they couldnt get someone out to look at it for about 2 weeks. LG said that the limited warranty for certain parts that was for 7 years after we received the unit would not be honored since we did not have a receipt. We never received a receipt since the Home Depot gave us a store credit. We had other things updated prior to getting the credit. The Home Depot put in new Silestone countertops. It took 3 times for them to come back and put the counter on properly. Silestone felt bad for us and told us to get any of their countertops, so we picked out a different color that happened to be their most expensive. Silestone also told us we could have any edging we wanted, no matter what the cost, so we updated our edging to one of the most expensive. Silestone had no problem with any of this. Then we had Home Depot replace on of our bathroom floors. The installer put the floor in just fine, but also broke our toilet and told us sorry and left. We had to go and buy a new toilet ourselves and install it. Home Depot finally paid for the replacement and labor of the new toilet. I called Home Depots corporate office who gave us a store credit of $1500. We used that money to buy the LG French Door refrigerator. Needless to say 4 years later it broke down. I called Home Depot for them to send us a copy of the store credit that was used for the refrigerator. They were not able to find it in the system since I did not know the exact date of purchase. No receipt or paperwork were given to us. Now the contractor for LG will not honor the 7-year limited warranty and we will have to pay for parts and labor to fix the unit. Prior to getting this LG unit, we had a side-by-side GE Profile fridge. It was about 8 years old when it started to give us minor problems, but it still worked. We got the LG fridge since we had this credit and wanted a French Door Fridge without the water and ice like the GE one had. We never expected this LG unit to have such serious problems at only 4 years old. Very disappointed with this issue. If the service call costs too much, this Fridge will be going and we will go with another manufacturer. LG will never be a company we do service with again. Home Depot will also never have our business again with all the problems we have had with the major updates to our house we purchased from them.

The LG microwave (MW MC7688) was purchased by me on 30.11.2008. On 21.08.2012, we went for AMC, which is from 21.08.2012 to 20.08.2013. Some of the parts were not functioning so we lodged the following complaints: RNA ** dated 19.01.2013, RNA ** dated 23.01.2013, and RNA ** dated 31.01.2013. The service technician visited and verified the oven. He confirmed that one part is to be replaced, but that part is not available as the company has stopped manufacturing that model. Subsequently, Mr. ** called on 09.02.2013, and confirmed that the model is out of stock, and that the company will pay back 15% of the purchase cost. Then we spoke to Mr. Manish ** on **. He conveyed point blank and asked us to do whatever we want, but we will get only 15% of the purchase price. The purchase price was Rs. 8,499/- and 15% comes to Rs.1,275/-; whereas, we have already paid Rs. 815/- for the AMC cost.Is it our problem that the company has stopped production? If that is the case, then why was AMC taken? We need the part to be replaced or a replacement of a new oven.

We had our home built 15 years ago and purchased GE appliances and decided in 2012 to upgrade to stainless steel. We purchased an LG microwave and a LG refrigerator.. Model LFX31925ST.... It was the biggest mistake we ever made. The first 6 months the microwave had to be repaired and now the refrigerator light is out in the water and ice dispenser area. In addition the ice maker no longer works. The Smart Diagnostics says the first time that we have opened the refrigerator frequently... There are no children in the house and we eat out. The second diagnostic report says we are not closing the door and air is escaping. We had the GE products and NEVER had a problem. The only issue was they were white. We are both retired law enforcement and have been asked by friends and relatives about the beautiful piece of junk in our kitchen. I have referred them to ANY brand but LG. We have an LG television and I am waiting to see what happens with it. We will get it repaired and probably put it in our rental property or donate it to the Goodwill. Your appliances ARE A PIECE OF JUNK. I am so angry because my husband wanted GE or Whirlpool... but no I chose LG. Believe me I hear about at least twice a day!!!! Extremely dissatisfied customer!

We noticed water in the tray (leaking from bottom of the washer) in the very first week. Tech call within a week! Not a happy start. Water leaked few months later. Now we see water leak almost every wash. Technician came out and confirmed no leak after running few wash cycles. Fingers crossed... We had to call the technician once for a different issue also. I never had such issues in my previous washer (front load -- not LG) which we used for about 10 years. Also I have a feeling that this machine is using lot more water than my previous one and wash cycles are longer.

We purchased a new LG French Door Refrigerator from Home Depot in May 2015. In May 2016, June 2017, and June 2019, the refrigerator has stopped working completely, resulting in a total loss of the contents of both the fridge and freezer. We are a family of 5, so we have lost a significant amount of groceries each time. I called LG customer service yesterday (6/27) and was told that they could not help me, as we had purchased a (now-expired) 3-year warranty through Home Depot. After much back and forth, the rep finally agreed to schedule a service appointment. The first available appointment is for Monday, 7/1.We will be without a refrigerator for 5 days in the middle of a Texas summer, provided the issue is fixable. However, as the same issue has already been fixed twice, Im not confident that this will be a lasting solution. We spent $2800 on a refrigerator that has completely stopped functioning 3 times in 4 years. We were also informed yesterday that we may need to pay for the repairs, if they determine it is not a warranty item. We will never buy another LG appliance again.

I would give LG service negative stars, if I can. I purchased a dishwasher in April (model number: LDS4821ST), and the unit has worked pretty well. Recently and suddenly, the paint on one of the control buttons started to come off. I called LG and sent them pictures. I was told that it was a cosmetic problem, and they would not repair. I understand if this was a year or two from now, but four months after purchase and the paint is coming off? It is an obvious quality problem.I purchased a washer and a drier from LG about five years ago, and feel they were of much better quality than their current products. I bought a fridge as well in April, and that has problems already, as well. LG was totally dismissive; what is worse is that they refused to send me their response in writing! Im still paying for the appliance that already looks crappy!

I am completely shocked at the lack of accountability LG is demonstrating in our failed refrigerator compressor. We bought this refrigerator from Home Depot three years ago and the compressor failed in June of this year. When I called LG (who documents that they warranty their compressors for 10 years!), they directed me to their rip-off extended warranty department who charged me $450.00 for an extended warranty. After the service person came out and let them know it was the compressor, they said the parts are unavailable and they canceled my warranty without my permission, refunding my credit card MINUS $100.00 for the service person who diagnosed the problem! The contract of the warranty states they cannot cancel my warranty unless they give me 30 days notice in writing. After all of this happened I did some research online and it appears that our refrigerator is a lemon and LG is taking no responsibility for selling thousands of crappy appliances. We have spent hours on hold and hours talking to customer service people at LG who have no authority to do anything to help us. I am so disillusioned with this company and will stick to GE for any future appliance purchases. Hopefully this review will save someone else the frustration of dealing with LG.

As long as it does not say LG on the cabinet I will consider it. Not buying: Poor quality construction is my number one element. Ive done well with Kenmore, Whirlpool, and Maytag over the years. LG equipment and service after purchase is very poor. I am looking for that rare combination of quality workmanship, efficiency, practicality, durability, and warranty backing at an affordable price. I dont need bells, buzzers, and whistles. I need it to clean and dry my clothes well and in a reasonable amount of time.

Buyer Beware of Linear Compression. We purchased this fridge less than 3 years ago and it stopped working 3 days ago. Hours and hours on the phone with LG, 2 service companies later, 1 1/2 days of missed work, and we know exactly the same thing we did when we first called... the compressor has died. Now theyre fighting with the service company LG sent out to us on who should order the part(s) and are telling us they may have it to fix in another week. WEEK! A quick google search will show you there are multiple class action lawsuits for this type of compression unit. LG has known it will not last. And when it fails, as it will, hundreds of $$ of food in the trash, $$ for takeout for a week, missed time from work to meet technicians that cant help and hours and hours on the phone with LG is what will be in your future.

LG Refrigerator model number LFXS30766S/02 - Retail Cost $3,799. topped working on 6/11/2017. It was Purchased on 7/9/2015. The unit was only 23 Months old. Compressor is Defective and there seem to be another issue with it. As an Engineer, I tested the Refrigerator myself and determined Compressor has completely failed. I called LG Service department to let them know that the Compressor is bad and it needs to be replaced. The Compressor is under 10 Year warranty. I was notified that a technician needed to come out and verify this. I was given 2 options: 1. I needed to pay Approximately $345 (I do not remember the exact amount, but it was this high) to come out just to look at it and fix the issue, but this will be a one-shot deal. Or Option 2. $459 to come out and verify, Fix the issue and then have it covered again under warranty for another year.I do not understand why I need to pay these amounts for something that is covered in warranty. Especially when I am reading all over the internet that this particular Compressor, Ice trays and circuit boards are Failing at an extremely high rate. I ended up having to pay $459 to have a technician come out to say that I was correct and they needed to order a new one. Its now 3 Months later and I do not have a refrigerator. We have given up on LG. Never again. Pass the word around. Do not wait on them to do the right thing. We ended up purchasing a Kenmore Refrigerator for the family. For the cost we paid for the LG, you would expect a quality product. But it seems like LG is using the US Market as a dumping ground for their defective items.

I dont trust any of the side loaders due to the possibility of water leaking around the door seal. Price was discounted for a holiday, from Lowes. Lowes installation bothered me a lot. This washer and dryer replaced Kenmores that were 25 years old, and still running. Quality means a lot to me. I expect these LGs to last at least as long as my 25 year old Kenmores since engineering and technology MUST have improved in the last 25 years. After a year, I am very happy with the LGs. Occasionally, the washer cant balance the load and I have to redistribute the washer contents. Note that the basin spins at over 1000 rpm, so a balanced load is critical. Thats okay. I thought the vast number of washing options were way too many, so too the dryer. But I guess some owners will use options that I dont. The clothes load size is really big. You will need very long arms to reach the bottom of the washer to pull out all the items.

In May of 2009, I renovated my kitchen and bought two new appliances - an over the range microwave and a dishwasher, both LG products.Last week, on February 8, 2012, the microwave stopped heating. I called the company and after describing what happened was told that the magnetron went out. Since this is my second home, this microwave hasnt been used more than 100 times from the date of installation and I felt they should take responsibility for the repairs. I was told that the magnetron is covered but the labor is not. Then they told me to call a certain company to have it fixed. The service company said that they will order the part and when the part arrives, they will call me to have it installed. They refused to give me an estimate for the cost of labor. Eventually, after several calls, I was told it is around $220! At this point, I sent two emails to the LG company and as of today, February 15, 2012 got no reply. My other appliance, the LDF9810ST dishwasher, simply does not wash. I wash everything before putting it in and, again I wash and dry some dishes after the 3-hour cycle is done. Also, the plastic baskets are falling down or do not slide back. It is the worst dishwasher I have ever came across. When I told them about this problem I was told, Oops! You bought a floor model, and because of it ,we cant help you at all!At this point, I am angry, and I feel used and abused by a company that makes such bad products and cares so little for the customers. What a self-centered motto on their website, Life is Good! Whos life?I will never buy another LG product again and I will advise all my family, relatives and friends to not buy LG products either.

I just bought my Double Electric Convection Oven range in late December 2021. The flat-top keeps on getting damaged after I use it. I had it replaced once and when it happened with the second top, I called LG and they said all they can do is replace the flat top again. I have had a flat top for many years and know what to do as far as pans, and not sliding the cookware, etc. The customer service representative kept on stating it was my fault and it was scratched. It wasnt scratched because I didnt do anything wrong with the pans. They told me at customer service all they could do was replace it again. I think that there is a defect with the flat tops because my old flat top didnt do what these flat tops are doing. I am upset with the product because I thought I finally got a convection oven that would cook right and it doesnt.

When I purchased my LG Washer I was so excited! I researched washers and chose this particular company because I read reviews that discussed the quality & quantity capabilities of this particular brand. I spent more than I had planned on this purchase because I wanted a quality washer. I loved this washer, it was the one thing in the house that I told my family I truly enjoyed using. I recommended it to my friends who were looking to purchase a new washer... It was the best appliance I had EVER owned...THEN IT HAPPENED! The intake valve on the washer messed up and needed repair. That was okay, everything has to have maintenance. So I called MULTIPLE appliance repair shops (11 to be exact), and was told time after time, Maam we dont work on LG appliances, it is impossible to get parts for them. So I called Lowes (where I had purchased the appliance), they no longer take care of parts but instead give you the number of the place to order parts for the products they sale. My husband called the number, ordered the part (which he paid for so it could be shipped to our door)... He was told the part would arrive in 7-10 days. We watch a video on how to install the part and wait for it to arrive... That was in OCTOBER!!! Todays date is December 27!!!After two weeks we called and was told it was on back order but should arrive in another two weeks. Second call was told it was still on back order may be two more weeks. Today when we called we were told the part can be found NOWHERE IN THE USA. He said they were trying to get one from Korea, and would try to let us know something in the next 24 hours about how many more weeks it would be... Listen, I am generally a calm patient person, I grew up in a house with 14 people, I understand waiting your turn. However, I also own a company and I know that your product is only as good as your customer service & support! It doesnt matter how great the product is... If you cannot repair it when it is broken... IT IS JUNK!I will NEVER buy a LG Product again... NEVER! I am trying to save someone else from the same heartache of walking past a brilliant, expensive product on your way out the door to the laundry mat. If you are part of the LG team please learn from this review... You have a great product, but unless you improve your customer service, and parts availability... You will not last long. I will most likely have to purchase another washer, and move forward from this mess. IT WILL NOT BE AN LG APPLIANCE.

We purchased our new refrigerator along with an LG stove and microwave when we moved into our new home in 2016. Part of our decision was based on the experience we already had with our LG washer and dryer. Here we are now fighting issues with a refrigerator that should easily last 10+ years. If we had known previously about the compressor issues we would not have purchased this brand. Where are the lemon laws for refrigerators?Issue started with water on the floor and at first we thought the in-door ice maker was failing (more on this later), then two days later we noticed that ice cream was soft in the freezer and then a day later no cooling at all (by the way - all of this in the middle of COVID-19 quarantine and trying to make sure we had enough groceries on hand). It took approximately 1 1/2 weeks to get service on site for repair. The technician replaced the compressor and stated that the refrigerator would now run louder. Well, it was so loud we couldnt hear our tv in the next room without turning up the volume to almost maximum level.I pulled the refrigerator out and found that one of the copper tubes from the compressor was vibrating and rubbing on the rear cover. Called for service again to fix the noise issue. When he checked the refrigerator, he stated that he could find nothing wrong; however, he did release some of the coolant because he thought the compressor may have been overcharged and overheating. This seems to have resolved the noise issue. The in-door ice maker - noticed that after the compressor failed we now have water dripping intermittently out of the left hand door (the door with the ice maker). I mentioned this to service tech during his return visit and he said it was probably because I was leaving the door open too long and there was not enough cold air for the ice maker compartment. Ive had the refrigerator for not quite 4 years and never had this issue before - I dont think Ive changed how I use my refrigerator. This issue has not been resolved. We question how long the new compressor will last (4 years?). How much more electricity is the refrigerator using now as compared to before - seems to run a lot more now.

Almost every load we do whether its a big load or small, light stuff or bulky, the UE error light comes on. Sometimes it is on while the machine is still filling or rinsing. Sometimes it is on and the machine has come to a stop. You can never predict when a load or which load this is going to happen to. The bottom line is it can take a whole day to finish a couple of loads. Today we did two load. Total time from start to finish was a little over five hours!! Supposedly, you can pause the cycle and redistribute the load manually and that will cure the problem. Yeah, it will for about 5 minutes until the UE comes on again! Knowing what we know now and having suffered with this for two years, we would NEVER buy another LG HE washing machine. If the damn thing wasnt so expensive, we would have gotten rid of it a long time ago. Its so bad now though that we are probably going to do just that - get rid of the thing.

I bought my French door LG refrigerator in Jan 2018. Now - in March 2018 it is no longer cooling. I bought the extended warranty through Lowes. They sent a tech to assess the problem. Compressor needs replacing. After only 14 months of use! Yes the extended warranty (that I paid $269 for) covers the expense of fixing it - but the tech had to order the parts so am still without fridge until those parts come in and he can get back here to fix it. Am very disappointed in LG! Won’t buy this brand again. Am concerned to be thinking I may have to replace the compressor on a yearly basis.

I have had this LG FRENCH DOOR LFX31945ST refrigerator less than a year. It has been noisy since they delivered it but when I brought it up to the tech that had come back to replace the freezer door b/c of discoloration....he made it sound as though the compressors just make more noise in the new ones. So I thought, ok... I will give it some time... Well, as time went on, the noise got louder and louder. I can actually hear it buzzing and whining over my television in the Living Room (so many random noises off and on thru day, I couldnt possibly describe them all). So I call servicing dealer back and tell them still loud and seems to be constantly running. I also discovered while I was researching others complaints that there has been a problem with back wall icing up, so I looked and yes back wall completely iced over.Tech said he hadnt heard of any of these being problems, but Then he heard noise and saw ice. So he ordered new back panel, defrost control and module. When parts came in, he replaced everything. Less than 8 days later, still whining and other noises and now developed a bad smell/very bad smell that when fridge was opened would take over entire kitchen and living room area. By the time tech comes, the smell is not detectable b/c it dissipates over time, only to come back randomly. He denotes no problem found b/c noises werent as loud as they can be when he is here, even though I still think its louder than it s/b. At this point we are very frustrated to spend this kind of money and have so many problems is sickening. Problems continue and I call again, service comes out and back wall icing over again. Tech hears the loud noises (high pitch whine has become a constant, loud sounding fans and an occasional clunky sound) and the SMELL is back. Tech now has witnessed everything. He gets on phone w/ LG and he is told we must have introduced the smell. REALLY! I know we have not but we are advised to try charcoal like for a fish tank filter. I tell the tech that Im concerned b/c warranty is up in June and how do I know if he reorders everything hes replaced once that it wont continue to be a problem later. It had to be an inherent problem and what is LG gonna do about it. I feel they should extend warranty or give me replacement fridge. He did his best to tell LG that they need to do something more... Their solution is its fixable so they reorder everything again (back panel, defrost control and module main). I call customer service to voice my concerns and ask about extending warranty, to ensure this problem actually gets fixed. I am read some script that is obviously told to every customer and the Supervisor I spoke with was not nice. He had a nasty disposition and offered me no resolutions. He just made me angrier. So parts arrived and another tech comes to install the parts. It has been around 9 days and guess what? SMELL is back, noises are worse than they were before this last service call and ice is beginning to build up on the back wall again. So here we go again. I am going to call again, wait again to be notified morning of service call and given a 2-hr window of when they will be here (so I cant plan anything for that day b/c no specific time for service call). Another day wasted, more aggravation and I am fairly confident the problem wont be resolved. Instead I will be advised to purchase an additional warranty coverage since mine expires in June. I am not looking forward to complaining to customer service again b/c, well Ive seen how they treat customers and their philosophy is the customer is always a nuisance and they wont help me at all. So here we go, I will place call and waste another day. Do yourself a favor and dont buy this product, no matter how much you love the lighting, the door in door feature and the versatility of the shelves inside... Trust me - not worth the headache. Oh and not real stainless steel.

Bought a brand new LG French Door Refrigerator in 2015 from Home Depot and here I am almost 4 years later and it has completely failed. I had the technician from the local LG authorized repair company and he diagnosed that my evaporator has failed and that between parts and labor it will cost somewhere between $1000 and $1200 to fix this LG French Door Refrigerator. What a total pile of crap. I would expect when paying $2200 for a new LG fridge that it would at least last 10 years or more without a major breakdown. So going by the rule of thumb on when to replace or repair a refrigerator since the repair cost is going to be more than half the cost of a new refrigerator I will be replacing this LG piece of crap with a new refrigerator of some other brand. Also I am now so turned off by LG I will never buy any of their products ever again in my lifetime and I will encourage everyone I know to do the same.

My second LG inherited through a relationship and just as bad as mine. These machines are very fussy about everything from water-pressure to drainage. They simply do not clean as well as anything I have owned before. Fluff and lint problems. Various random errors constantly occur and a wash can take hours and hours due to a well-documented LG bug (Google LG Washing Machine balance issues). Just downright bad product.

I purchased an LG front load washer WM2277HS 6-8 years ago. Yes it has been a good machine, but now has to be thrown in the trash as the display assembly board which runs the product is no longer available! Part # 6871ER 2708A WHAT? I have tried everywhere to get a part or substitute part with no luck. I had a technician come from Sears who ordered the wrong part which fit the unit but the wiring jacket was different.I tried to order that part again today, (6 months later) thinking I could rewire the part myself. SHOCK! That part was no longer available as well. In fact there was a long list of Display Assembly Boards no longer available for LG products! The technician I talked to stated that LG was notorious for this problem! Sorry LG. Your customer service rely that things go wrong with electronic equipment from time to time is a lame excuse! Absolutely disappointed with this stove. We bought it because of the good review. It have nice features, but it is always defective. We had the technician four times during the warranty period. Now the warranty is over, and still need him on a regular basis. Every appointment is scheduled weeks later, which is very annoying. (imagine 2 weeks without oven). Among the CON of this oven- Automatic cleaning burn the fuse, every time... unless you move the oven 3 feet from the wall, suggested by their own technician (Gee, we are in 2019!!!). The induction burners have an intricate inside panel, when one is defective 2 or 3 stop. They were supposed to be independent. Every time you open the panel, one of the button break. And most of all, the service is horrible, from the long waiting time on the phone, to the unacceptable delay for the technician visit, to the technician fees... And ability. Please do yourself a favor, choose another one.

Initially I chose LG brand because I like their other appliances such as TV, Washing Machines, etc. When I bought the refrigerator that was the guiding and deciding factor, familiarity. What I like the most about the LG brand is the nice slick look. I like the brand itself in general. My favorite color in most appliances of that nature is stainless steel. I have been satisfied with the look, functioning and features of my LG refrigerator. I like the inside of the refrigerator as much as the outside. I like the design that allow me to pack my food nicely. Everything I need is neatly tucked away in a place that I am pleased and comfortable to reach and store it.

The compressor on my LG refrigerator recently failed, after a few years. I’ve been doing a lot of research on the compressor and many people have expressed that concern. So it seems like LGs product doesn’t really last that long. There are refrigerators that were built in the ‘90s and ‘80s that still work to this day. This is a modern fridge with very short life expectancy. It’s very unreasonable, although the issue has been resolved. My decision to buy an LG refrigerator was price-related. But when selling a product, companies should disclose fully the expectancy of the failure rate of their products versus advertising how wonderful they are. All manufacturers should disclose, “Okay. Based on our studies in the past 10 years, out of x amount of units sold, these are how many have failed in this amount of time.” A consumer can make a better decision as well.

We have asked about getting our compressor replaced or them just replacing our unit and each time they refused because the techs state that the problem is the software. Its now June and our fridge just stopped working again today. Ive been on the phone for over an hour to speak with a manager. Im so frustrated with the amount of time and money that we have wasted with this product and company. I bought a front loading LG washer. It was one of the more pricey washers. Ive had it for 3 years and now it sounds like a 747 airplane is landing in the laundry room - LOUD grinding in spin cycle. The cost to replace this out of warranty is astronomical as it is a tub and bearing replacement. I posted this to the LG website for reviews and they sent me back an email saying the review did not meet their standards. I guess that is because it was a poor rating?? I will not do business with this company again. My previous washer lasted 10 years and this one only three - think I will skip LG in the future. It would be interesting to know how much LG earns on their repair side of the business.

Bought a $2600 LG refrigerator 3 years ago. It no longer cools and has ruined the contents twice. First repairman refused to do any warranty work for LG. Second repairman said that parts are covered under the warranty, but labor will be $390 - $450. THIS IS THE BIGGEST PIECE OF JUNK THAT IVE EVER PURCHASED. I wished that there was a Lemon Law for refrigerators. Both repairmen said to stay away from LG refrigerators. Not only are they a piece of junk, but you cant get parts in a timely manner. It appears, from reading the reviews, that this is a common problem with LG refrigerators and it looks like the compressors go bad frequently. Im switching to Magic Chef or other Whirlpool brand. I hate to throw away a three year old, $2600, refrigerator, but Ill never trust this or any other LG product again. No wonder LG doesnt participate in this website. LG 4 door French Door Refridge. I purchased a Refrigerator in December 2016 which makes it 3 years old, in April 2019 I had to have a new compressor installed already, now both the freezers are creating snow and ice and I cant open the drawers. I called and they told me that I had to defrost the entire refrigerator/freezer first and wait 8 hours. Not only did I do that I waited two days to make sure everything was dry, once I determined that it was, I plugged the unit back in, overnight it started to create ice and snow again. I called back, after 45 minutes on the phone with someone I could hardly understand, giving them every number possible and all the info, they pass me to the scheduling dept to have someone come out to look at it, they charged me $125 up front service fee just to have tech come out to my home, that does not include the repair or parts, really! This is only a three year old appliance, that has had problems already, what piece of junk. I am 55 years old and for once in my life I was able to afford a better product, well that was what I thought I was getting, paying a heavy price for the refrigerator, I thought LG was supposed to be a great product, well WRONG, they truly dont care about us, they want us to do all this troubleshooting first, I dont pretend to be an engineer, they should be sending out a tech for free especially for a three year old unit. I am so disgusted with LG. I will never purchase any of their products again. I am sure this refrigerator will cause me so much grief and money that I will have to get rid of it. And furthermore, I have a 20 year old GE refrigerator in my garage that I have never had to have any service on and it stills works great, just a little rust on it, so I moved it to the garage, It beats LG for sure. We just lived with it because we had previously had a problem with a new LG washing machine and nobody in the area would service it! I was told by a serviceman that LG didnt pay them for warranty work and although I dont know if that is true or not. I do know that I couldnt find a serviceman to fix the washing machine, which we eventually disposed of, even though it was less than a year old. Anyway, we moved from that house and happily left the beautiful LG refrigerator with the broken door hinge and lo and behold, the new house that we bought, had the same refrigerator and shortly after moving, the hinge on one door broke on that one too. LG definitely seems to have a quality problem with their appliances and I wouldnt buy one again.

Other refrigerators that Ive seen have the ice maker taking up all of the door space. I love that I can change the shelves inside of the refrigerator and the door in a door function is just amazing. The refrigerator drawer is an amazing feature and we use that for everything from wine and pop to lunchmeat and cheese. The freezer drawer is also an easy to use part of this refrigerator, I was amazed at how easy it is to make the most of that space. All in all this is the best refrigerator we have ever owned. I have had my LG refrigerator for a little over 5 years now. On Thursday my compressor went out for the second time. I called customer service and they stated it is under warranty, however they were also going to make an exception because the labor was not covered. Their next available appointment was 5/7/20. I get a call back a few hours later and I am told the next available appointment is actually until 5/18/20. It is currently 90 degrees where I live and since I am at risk have limited my grocery shopping to every 2-3 weeks. Lucky for me I had just gone grocery shopping. I ask LG, Will you pay for a rental fridge? (given its a known problem)….Nope. How about the roughly $200 in groceries I had just purchased....nope. How about sending anyone out sooner....We will call in 24-48 hours.Get a call and now I am being told my new appointment date is 5/19/20. Call back since it is ridiculous to wait 3 weeks to get a known problem fixed. Ask about reimbursement for me purchasing a new fridge….nope. Ask if I can get my grocery reimbursement if I buy a new fridge....nope. Then I am told I can call around to find someone and get all their information etc. and they MAY be able to authorize this company to fix my compressor. All I can say is WOW, really hoped my experience would have been not like I read in other reviews but I guess not. Here is to a waste of a fridge and a horrible customer service experience.
