I bought my LG refrigerator model LMX21981 in Nov. 2008. In the last 6 months it started freezing the vegetables in the crispers. I have had a serviceman out 3 times. The first time he followed the instructions of LGs technician and it was okay for about 2 weeks. The 2nd time he came, the tech had no advice for him. The 3rd time he just shook his head and said there wasnt anything else he could do. For the cost and short serviceable life of the fridge I would think LG would be interested in giving better service on their products. Now the whole refrigerator is freezing everything in it, including the milk, eggs, etc. I am tired of throwing out my spoiled frozen food.

We bought our 4 door LG refrigerator in 2015 when we remodeled our home. It is by far the worst appliance purchase we have ever made. Weve had the compressor fail and replaced early on, then the ice maker was replaced, then one of the glass doors cracked, and now the compressor has failed again. In both cases when the compressors failed, we have had to throw away the entire fridge full of food, which is very expensive for us. I understand that the technology in newer refrigerators may be more sensitive, and life expectancy may be less than what they used to be, but this has been an inexcusable experience with a very expensive appliance.

I purchased a LG washing machine from PC Richards in July 2013. Water started leaking from the bottom of machine. I called PC Richards repair service. 1st technician came out and said he had to order part. 2nd Technician came out two weeks later. He ran the washing machine through a cycle and no water came out. He said nothing was wrong with it, that I must be overloading the washer. I explained to him that it wasnt being overloaded and that the 1st technician ran the cycle and he saw the water coming out, that is why he ordered the part. 2nd technician refused to change any parts because he was convinced I was overloading the machine. He left without doing anything.I washed clothes when he left. Same thing happened, water all over the place. I called service center and complained that 2nd technician didnt do anything. Service center kept telling me they would call me back, that didnt happen. I called again to speak to supervisor. He tells me I have to wait till 12/10 for another technician to come back to my house. LG washers are horrible and PC Richards service center is horrible. I do not recommend either one.

LG Range #LRE30453ST - Never used convection oven. Good thing after reading others. Hardly used oven and it stopped heating. Service tech replaced control and it worked twice and stopped heating again. Now says needs new control panel which tech says they no longer make and this problem was a recall. He said they will either replace with new range or pay me. I call LG and they say they do still make the part but it is on 2-3 week back order and cant tell me if it is different than the one I had that was recalled for design problems. So if I ever go get the new panel, what assurances do I have that it wont happen again? None. This range is a problem and the company should be taking better steps to resolve. Does anyone know if there is a class action suit going on this? I will NEVER buy LG again. Right now my whole kitchen is LG. NEVER AGAIN! Do not buy..... I rate them zero stars but you require at least one to submit so let that be minus one.

Bought a Kenmore elite (this one is just a LG under the Kenmore name) back in July of 2017 for $2400. Compressor is dead. Freezer doesnt freeze and refrigerator does not get cold. Sears sent a tech out and he quickly determined its the LG compressor issue. Parts are covered but it will be $487 to replace compressor, dryer filter and 3 way valve. Oh and there are plenty of accounts of it just failing again in a few months. UGH... Never LG anything again. You have been warned!

Two weeks after installing our beautiful new oven in our beautifully remodeled kitchen, we had a graduation party for my son. As I was going to bed that night, the smoke alarms started blaring. The house was filled with black smoke. To make a long story short, my nephew bumped one of the knobs and started a plastic container on fire. All he did was bump the knob and started a fire that easily. Major design flaw. This oven is very dangerous!

I bought my washer 2007, and have been disappointed because my clothes are not getting clean. The washer does not have a lot of water in it and the only way I can get any in it is with Water Plus. Sometime my clothes come out not even clean. I tried everything to get more water in it. I always had a top loaders that filled the tub. I thought that one of my hot or cold water valves was not working but, they do. I know somehow I am saving on water, but I would rather have clean clothes. Thought I was the only one until I seen these reviews. I am putting up with machine for now, but when I buy another one I will try to find one that is not he and probably not a LG.

I purchased an LG refrigerator from Home Depot. Most expensive refrigerator they had on the floor was $2800. I have had nothing but trouble with it. It has leaked 4-5 times ruining my floor and now it is not cooling or freezing. No one here in Cheyenne will even work on LGs. The repair business report has difficulty obtaining parts as they have had customers waiting for over a month to get parts so they will not service them. I am left with either cutting my losses or having someone come from over 60 miles away try to come and service. Be aware. Do not purchase LG because of their poor availability of service and parts and poor quality.

As others have mentioned, we initially bought the model based on the positive reviews we found online. However we too have had multiple issues with the knobs being turned on and gas being on without the burners. The knobs are very, very sensitive and a tiny bump just brushing the knobs will turn it on. Our children are teenagers, but we even looked for baby proof covers because we are so nervous around this stove. It has become a routine to check the knobs multiple times and we ourselves have found the gas on at almost every party we have had just because as others have said walking by and brushing the knob will turn the gas on. We have a party this weekend and are using packing tape to ensure that guests dont accidentally turn on the knobs when they brush against the stove. Honestly if I had another $2,000 to drop on a stove Id replace it right away. For anyone looking, stay, far far away from this stove. It is only a matter of time before someones home or self is injured by this stove. I am honestly surprised with the amount of comments that they have not yet recalled or provided a fix for this.

I own an LG Clothes Washer, model WM0624HW/01. The direct drive motor supposedly had a 7-year warranty on it. The rotor has plastic (!) splines in it that attach to the drum shaft to wash and spin the clothes. It (of course, its plastic!) stripped out after three years of normal household use. I contacted LG to get a replacement (I have been repairing appliances for 20+ years professionally, I know what I am doing); they absolutely refused. They said, Thank you for contacting LG Electronics. I am delighted to hear from you as our valued customer and I will be glad to answer your concern. I apologize for the inconvenience youre having. Drum motor such as stator, rotor and hall sensor have a seven year warranty from the date of purchase. Yes, the motor is still in warranty as I checked based on the serial number you provided. The washer has a one year warranty for parts and labor from the date of purchase but has exclusion for warranty of other parts as stated in the warranty page in the owners manual. For the replacement of the said part, it should be done by one of our LG technicians or authorized service technicians. The technician will order the part for you as soon as the unit is checked upon technicians visit, or will install it for you if the part is available upon service visit. Let me provide our rates for the labor. For LG technicians: diagnosis - $89, minor repair - $150 + tax & parts, major repair - $225 + tax and parts. I apologize I dont have the information for the rate fee for our authorized service technician. They have different rate scheme than our own LG technicians. I hope I was able to help you with your concern. If you have other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again either via email or by calling our customer service division at 800-243-0000 at your convenience. Thank you for choosing LG!I called Albert and told him I was a qualified appliance repair person, and it only took me 10 minutes to diagnose and remove the offending part and to please just send me the part. He absolutely refused. In order to get it replaced under warranty, I would have to spend $239 in labor. The part is available to me wholesale for $73.11 and it will take me 5 minutes to replace it. Of course, I will bite the bullet and buy the part myself. What gripes me is that the part is under warranty but I cannot get the part. LG has figured out a way to screw me out of the warranty they supposedly provide. Even worse, the replacement part is new and improved with metal splines in it, proving LG knew there was a problem and are refusing to do anything about it. Bottom line is I will never, ever buy anything from LG ever again. LG = Latest Garbage. This is not the first LG appliance I have had problems with, but it will be the last.

I bought my kitchen appliances less than 3 years ago, all LG brand, brand new from Home Depot. My dishwasher has given us some issues over the last year and come to find out the electronics are not covered under the 10 year warranty that is plastered on front of the appliance. No big deal, my husband was able to fix it. However, our refrigerator is a different story. It stopped cooling. We called LG. We waited a week for a repairman who was not qualified to fix refrigerators. He stated, I dont fix refrigerators. I work on washers and dryers. But with the help of the tech support he was able to determine it was the compressor. I was instructed to call LG with a case number and they would send out a qualified person to fix the problem. This was on a Friday. I called back late Monday afternoon to check on the progress and told they still havent found anyone to fix the issue. I was denied the privilege to speak with upper management and sent into the queue so long that it kicked me out. I called back 2 more times with the same result. I called back a 4th time and spoke with a different rep. He continues to tell me more of the same stuff. Not one rep was able to give me a time frame that I would have to wait for a service repair man because the truth is they dont have one in my area. He was unable to give me a number to upper management or connect me with someone higher up. He said when they send customers into the queue to be sent to the next level they keep being kicked back to them. So in other words LG does not back their products nor care about their customersThey believe it is acceptable for a product to last less than 3 years and a customer to be without a refrigerator for 2 weeks with no recourse. May I add this is during the quarantine, so I had more food in the fridge than normal and yes I lost a lot of food. But no worries for LG. They are not worried about the customer. Do NOT buy LG products. I have NEVER been so upset or dissatisfied with a product before. I am 44 years old and this is the first BAD product review I have written on any product.

This is an 18-month-old LG refrigerator and is the second time it has suffered this failure. I have now been without a refrigerator for 9 days - over Christmas no less, and I am now told that it will be at least another week - with no confirmation on that - before I have the parts. I ordered parts from the LG supplier as given on the LG website - MCM electronics. They never shipped the part. Then when I spoke with them again they reluctantly said they would ship with another shipper claiming it was the shippers problem - but USPS, the original shipper says the parts were never available for pickup. One of the two parts did arrive and - my fault - it was not the correct part. I cannot track the second part as they never sent purchase confirmation e-mail and they are closed. Then I ordered the same parts via Sears - the website said they were in stock but Sears now confirms that the parts were indeed not in stock at LG and that it will be at least another week until they arrive, but they cannot confirm this. Parts are also not available at Repair Clinic.com. This appears to be an LG purposeful action to force you through an LG repairperson as the parts are not available from anyone - its an easy fix if I can ever get the parts. I need to file a complaint against LG and on Monday I will follow-up further with the State Attorney Generals Office and the Better Business Bureau. At this point - over my dead body will I call for an LG repairperson and I will never again purchase anything from LG.

In 2006, my husband and I purchased all new LG appliances from Home Depot and paid for the 4-year extended warranty. We have the WM2077CW washing machine, LFX25960ST French Door Refrigerator, DLG3788W Dryer, LDF6810ST Dishwasher and LRG30355ST Gas Range. We have had problems with every single appliance, have had the extended warranty repairs done on each one, and continue to have problems. The latest is the washer has stopped draining and the drain pump motor is broken. Our warranty expired on 14 Apr 11 and both Home Depot and LG will do nothing. The refrigerator is now leaking water all over our kitchen floor, and the knobs on the gas stove are cracked again--they have been replaced twice already! Please do not purchase anything from LG! I know we should have been worried when the washer broke the first week we got it home, the dishwasher leaked and the refrigerator water dispenser has never worked properly, even after multiple service calls. Even the extended warranty hasnt saved us from having to replace parts that arent covered. I wish we never bought LG, and Home Depot hasnt stood behind them.

Updated on 04/06/2021: This is my 3rd review. I have been dealing w customer service for almost 3 months because my refrigerator that is still under warranty, has had 2 compressors put in & has now been deemed unrepairable still has no resolve. There has been a class action suite against LG refrigerators because of their compressors that they have been using but still they are taking no responsibility for their product. Ive seen other reviews here on Consumer Affairs for the same thing. I will not ever buy another LG product again. Every time someone says they will call me back but they dont. Customer service is just a shield. I just want some resolution.Updated on 04/01/2021; I have been dealing w LG Refrigerators now for 2 & a half months. This is my second review. I am still trying to get some resolution. I have had several technicians come out & they have replaced the compressor 2 times w/ compressors that didnt work. They finally dreamed it unrepairable. So now I am waiting to see if I can get a full refund. Every customer service person tells me the same thing... They will do everything they can to get it rectified. I paid $2,699 plus tax. I got an LG refrigerator because it came w/ high ratings. My refrigerator was only 3 & a half years old before I started having issues. I loved my refrigerator up until this point.Do not buy this refrigerator. Read the reviews that have had the same issues as I have had. There has been a class action suit against lg because of this same issue. They have taken no responsibility for the problem & continue to send out compressors that dont work. Now I wait to be reimbursed... They did reimburse me $250 to buy a mini fridge.Original: DO NOT BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR!!! Ive been dealing w/ customer service now for 2 months & still have no resolution. I bought my LG refrigerator in June of 2017. It stopped working January of 2021. I now call daily to see where the status of my service is. Each customer service representative tells me that they will handle the situation & not to worry. I still dont have a working refrigerator. They sent a technician out & they found that it was the compressor so replaced it. It never worked. That was a month ago. That particular technician has since stopped accepting LG service orders. So now I have to start the whole process over w/ a new technician company. As of today, 3/20/21 Ive not received an appointment & I still dont have a working refrigerator. They did reimburse me $250 for a mini fridge & were supposed to send me $200 for food lost... never saw the $200. I live 30 minutes from the closest grocery store & 20 minutes from the closest restaurant. A mini fridge isnt cutting it. AGAIN, DO NOT BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR!!! The customer service has been less than helpful

Bought new LG dishwasher at Sears, not knowing there was a service bulletin on this particular machine concerning a door design flaw that caused a leak. When ours started leaking shortly after the warranty expired, LG wouldnt do anything. Customer service was rude, confrontational, and borderline belligerent. We were unable to get the dishwasher to quit leaking without spending more on it than it was worth, so we yanked it and replaced it with a Whirlpool. It works great. Purchasing the matching LG washer and dryer was my first LG appliance purchase - and it will be my last. I have usually purchased appliances by Kenmore or Maytag and would have the appliances for years before they had to be serviced. However, that has not been the case with the LG 7.4 cu. ft. Gas Dryer with Steam in White, Model # DLGX3571W. I purchased the dryer on June 27, 2015 and it was delivered July 2, 2015. About a couple of weeks ago, I noticed that the clothes were not drying after a full cycle. The first time, I increased the drying time and made it more dry, still the clothes did not dry. Finally, after the third cycle the clothes were dry. Since that time, it has taken several drying cycles to dry one load of clothes. I cant imagine how this will affect my gas bill. Because the dryer is only about 6 months, I requested a new dryer. I figure that if I started repairing a dryer that is only 6 months old, Ill be repairing it forever. But I was told by a very condescending executive manager, Cortel, that I would not get a new machine because that is not how it works. I tried to rationalize with him and told him that I was willing to have a service tech check the machine, but if there was a problem I didnt want it fixed, I wanted it replaced with a new machine. That was like talking to a wall. So my next step is to file a complaint with the President of the company. I would caution consumers against purchasing Model #DLGX3571W in particular and in dealing with LG in general because of their unwillingness to be fair to their customers.

About 2 years after our LG gas dryer purchase we began hearing that thumping sound which we now know to be a cracked weld on the dryer drum. It was frustrating to have to replace such a major component, but we reasoned that sometimes parts fail. Our bigger problem however was that during the period that the drum operated with the crack, it was rubbing metal on metal in one little spot (according to our service technician) and created a super fine black metallic power that continued contaminate anything we tried to dry that was white, long after the replacement drum was installed. The replacement drum has since gone out of round. We do not abuse this dryer in any way. It runs about 6 medium loads of wash per week. We wrote a letter to LG requesting some sort of assistance to remedy our problems and received the usual form letter rejection. The worst part is that even though the dryer stills runs, it continues to thump because of the out of round drum and we basically have to dry any whites that we want to preserve at the local laundry mat. What a spectacular mistake this is for LG. They have made us disciples preaching Never an LG product again to everyone we know.

I recently purchases a Model # LSE4611ST slide in glass top range. I was very happy with it in the beginning. This past summer I was canning, the process was done, I laid a cloth on the unused side of the range and put my jars on it from the canner. I went out for 20 minutes, came in and found the front burner on and the cloth burned to the stove top. What I discovered was that when you leaned forward into the stove, the controls on the front of the stove are extremely flexible and it takes nothing at all to turn on the burner. I had a similar experience this afternoon and apparently touched a dial with my body and it turn it on while I was cleaning another section of the glass top. I almost set my hand on it and realized in time that the burner was on. I still like the range, just do NOT like that the control knobs are so easily manipulated. Thank goodness we dont have children in the house, it would be dangerous. My experience with LG has not led to a resolution. My issue that the knobs on the front of the range were very susceptible to touch and that it was easy to turn the burners on without being aware of it. I had a fire on my stove that burned thru a mat and damaged my burner. When the repairman came out he told me that was the way it was, there was no way to make the knobs more resistant to light touch. That this was the way it was. It makes bothers me that something so easy to fix to prevent accidents is deemed not viable by the company.

I will avoid all LG products like the plague from now on! My smart top loading washer (recommended by Consumer Reports at the time) repeatedly gave the UE error. I called LG Customer Service for solutions to the problem. Their recommendation was to add/remove clothing to balance the load. Thats all the advice they had to offer. (Im sorry that I didnt have more dirty clothing to wash at that time. Apparently, they expected me to pull clean clothes out of my closet to balance the load!) When I operated the washer with no clothing in the machine, I realized the problem was with the washer - not my loading technique. After my water bill TRIPLED because of the huge amount of water used to attempt to balance the loads, I requested a service call. The technician informed me that the problem was due to a KNOWN software issue and all that was needed to fix the problem was a software update. I have no issue with this. What I do have an issue with is that LG Electronics failed to form consumers of this simple fix! Apparently, LG Electronics doesnt care about consumers- they just like to sell products. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on ME!

I purchased my LG side-by-side refrigerator from Best Buy in October 2016.
I purchased my LG side-by-side refrigerator from Best Buy in October 2016. Initially I was very pleased with the unit, no problems until late June 2018. The temperature dropped significantly and the freezer no longer kept food frozen. I was informed after placing a service call that the compressor ceased to work and other updates were needed to the refrigerator. One year later in July 2019 the freezer and refrigerator are again working insufficiently. I have lost a ridiculous amount of food in both the freezer and refrigerator. I am again using a cooler, buying ice frequently. I contacted the LG customer service department this past Sunday July 21, 2019 to inform staff of a malfunctioning refrigerator and to complain that this was the second incident in three years. I was given an appointment for July 25, 2019. My husband took the day off of work in order to receive the repairman. After no one showed, my husband contacted LG customer service department and was informed that the appointment had been canceled. We did not cancel the appointment. LG customer service informed us after some time that A& E Factory Service, their contractor, canceled the appointment and did not inform LG nor did they inform us of the cancellation. Eventually my husband was given an appointment for August 5th 2019, two-weeks from the originally scheduled appointment. He explained the challenges in retaining food, money lost, and that we have a five year old daughter who had clumpy milk that had to be discarded... the next available appointment was moved to August 1, 2019. I phoned yesterday, July 25, 2019 explained the above and inquired about the earliest available appointment. After being on the phone for twenty minutes I was informed that the earliest possible appointment is still August 1, 2019 however it is not confirmed, therefore I do not have a concrete appointment as of yet. I was told that someone will call us to confirm the actual August 1, 2019 appointment next week. I am very disappointed. I am very dissatisfied. I will not purchase another LG refrigerator again.Jacqueline **

I purchased an LG LRE30451 In 2006. No problems until recently. The stove would not turn off. You had to either be able to 1. Pull the electrical cord from the wall or 2. Turn off the circuit breaker to get it to turn off. At that time I was not aware of the recall on the stove. The next day, you would get burners that would not come on or you could not control the temperature. I found that there is a factory recall for these ranges for this very problem and that they are a fire hazard. I contacted LG and they told me that it would be 3 to 5 business days for them to get back to me. (Meanwhile you can not to use the stove because of the fire hazard). On the 5th day afternoon, still no contact so I called them. I was told that there were no notes in my file and that they would get someone on it immediately. After numerous calls back and forth I was told they made me an appointment for repair. This was 2 weeks out. They did not even check to see if I was available or not and could not give me time. I asked for the number for the repair facility they made the appointment with and after several calls back to LG they gave me a good number. This repair facility A & E Factory Service stated that they only do service in my area on Thursday and Friday. Someone had to be home from 8 am to 5 pm. Do they not realize people have to work? When I told them no one would be home, they suggested I contact LG to get someone else. Thus yet another call to LG. I was told they could do nothing else that this was the only repair facility in my area. I told them this was unacceptable and I wanted to speak to a supervisor.Well they put a guy named Cortell on the phone. This was as useless as the last bunch I spoke with. He proceeds to tell me that basically it was not his problem I was not available and that they could start the whole process over looking for a different repair facility. Now, I was already told, This was the only repair facility in my area. When I advised him of what I was told prior he stated that I was told incorrect information. I asked how long it would take and he said just to locate a facility was another 3 to 5 days. You’re kidding right. Remember, cannot use the stove due to the fire hazard... When I asked him if LG was going to pay for my husband and I to eat out he stated no. When I told him I would continue to use the stove and if my house burns down it will be LGs problem. He then told me if I continued to use the stove knowing it is defective, it would be on me not them. Needless to say, they expect me to go approximately 1 month without cooking! When I told him they could just replace the stove he stated, We are not going to do that, your model is from 2006. Now just like other people stated you normally have a stove that lasts 20 years before it goes bad. LG products do not last and when you do have an issue their customer service is horrible and they do not care! I am still waiting for the second round to start.

I am writing to complain about the product quality of our appliances. We have had all of our appliances for less than 2 years (refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, microwave) and in those 2 years we have had 3 significant issues. The dishwasher was repaired a few months ago because of a major mechanical problem causing the buttons to glitch. Our oven reeks like gasoline every time it is turned on (service request entered to be told it is out of warranty. Cannot be fixed without a $125 fee) And most recently - our brand new microwave just STOPPED working today out of nowhere. It won’t power on even though there is power to the outlet. I was told we had to pay for a service request with no guarantee on product replacement and out of pocket cost. We can’t do that again, and will be forced to buy a new microwave (not LG).The quality of our appliances is completely unacceptable. We bought new appliances and were excited to have them as part of our first home, and their quality and function have been extremely disappointing and unreliable. There is absolutely zero reason why an appliance that costs thousands of dollars should fail like these have. To add, the warranty is outdated and a sham. To give people a year warranty on crappy devices is unfair and not right. They break right outside of the warranty, forcing customers to spend hundreds on parts and labor to repairmen. I will never ever buy another LG product and will make sure I tell my friends and family the same.

Bought LG LWS3063ST AT Best Buy / Order # **- delivered on 23th of February 23. Used first time 3 days after to discover that it does not bake properly and heating the drawer below too much (had a Frigidaire oven before with no heat of this drawer). Called the service immediately, however they were not willing to come, advised to try a couple of weeks. As the problem continued called the service again (March 15, booked an appointment for the 19th, sent the requested photos of the model and also included the picture of unbaked food. Called on 18th to confirm the date for next day, to my surprise service was not booked at all. They booked it again for the 20th and followed with the confirmation email with the phone # off the technician. I took day off and am waiting, called at noon to inquire when the tech is coming to discover that service not booked at all. Called the LG CS to be told that they did not have available technician in my area for today.

In 2015 I bought all my LG appliances just to get to the 4 yr with them when all came apart. Just in this yr my microwave stop working, my stove supposed to be fitting 5 pots, it only fits 3 on it. My wall oven broke as well, but my worse nightmare is the experience I’m going through with my refrigerator, a MODEL: LMXS30776S/01. This refrigerator has stop cooling and making ice 3 times this yr, between April and November. I called the warranty company and they throw the ball to LG, LG keep sending this A&E Factory service to work on this refrigerator and for the second time in this month they supposedly fixed and leave saying that it would take 24 hrs for the fridge to cool again, 24 hrs passed and The fridge still not working.LG customer service keep say that they can’t replace the unit until the technician writes in his report that the unit is unrepairable. Meanwhile they have the customer without a fridge for almost a month. Christmas is around the corner and this is becoming a nightmare. All I keep hearing from the technician is that this is happening a lot with LG Appliances and LG stead of replacing or reimburse the money prefers to keep expending money paying to service companies.

Im not too happy with my LG refrigerator after looking into a lot of information and a lot of reviews. Apparently, theres been a lot of problems with their compressors. And it doesnt seem like LG is proactive about going and fixing them because I finally had a problem with my compressor this year. The unit wasnt getting cold at all and we had noticed periodically where it felt like it wasnt cooling enough. We just chalked it up in the air whether it was too hot of a day or too cold of a day, and maybe we didnt have that, we had the house too hot and left it at that. And then, all of a sudden, within three days, it just stopped working.Trying to get LG to come out and fix the issue was like pulling teeth. Apparently though, LG was aware of what the issue was. They didnt give me any problems as far as getting it fixed. But there was a lot of miscommunication internally at LG because they gave me one company that they were gonna have fix the situation, and when I finally contacted them because I hadnt heard from them, they said, We dont work with LG anymore, and I had to call LG and tell them what the company said. So, we were gonna use this other company. It was the same thing. LG gave me the information for that company and I called them immediately. They said some of the same thing. Then finally, the third company was the one that still worked with LG. And then, that had taken almost two weeks to get my refrigerator fixed. At this point, it seems to be running properly. It seems to be making a little bit of noise. So, Im gonna contact the repair people and ask them to come check it out because it makes humming noise that it didnt make before.I have mentioned it to other people and as good friends of mine, they just bought the same refrigerator, and they experienced a similar problem to what we had. And we were told initially, Oh, its probably its seal, it didnt close right. But that was the way our problem started. And six months later, all of a sudden, the refrigerator went bad. But its a known problem with LG. My friends now are keeping a close eye on it.

LG refrigerator has met all my needs. If I were to recommend a refrigerator this brand would be the one hands down. I like the upgrade compared to old refrigerator, new models are great. Also its a reasonable price. I like that it has pull-out frozen sections as well. Its reliable, spacious, keeps everything fresh. Everything is perfect for me, everything fits just perfect. Many others doesnt get the opportunity to get a refrigerator like my LG refrigerator so I am grateful for my appliance.

I purchased the LG washing machine WT1101C - top loading, glass top - in July 2013. I am very disappointed with this product. I have yet to wash a load that does not become unbalanced, and I have tried several different combinations of laundry items. The machine WILL rebalance the load - but it does this by jiggling and REfilling with water and spinning again. That process can be repeated as many times as necessary unless I intervene and redistribute the clothes myself. One day I left it alone to see what would happen and it washed for 2 hours! Energy Efficient?? No way - it uses too much water and takes too long even on the supposedly shortest cycles. Im going to donate it and get a brand I have had before and that has an agitator. The dryer works fine.

This is the worst appliance purchase I have made. Most loads show as unbalanced to which the washer responds by refilling the tub with water. It is almost impossible to meet the machines balance requirements. The constant refilling makes the machine a little less than high efficiency. The companys position that you need to wash things of similar weight in a load is ridiculous. I would have to wait until every piece of clothing I own needed washing before I could meet that requirement. A typical load takes 2+ hours to complete which includes multiple attempts to rebalance the clothes. I would recommend that you look elsewhere. I cannot fathom why there are so many positive reviews for this giant POS. (Model WT1101CW)

We purchased an LG LMXS27626 in August 2016. It’s a nice fridge and worked well for our needs. Last year we had some minor issues but last week (May 2020) it stopped cooling completely. Annoying but we figured no problem. We will get it it repaired. We have since learned the mess we are in. We called every repair service in the area all of whom told us they do not work on the linear compressor. They helped us understand that it is a unique system that only LG service providers can fix. No problem we thought! At least it’s under warranty. Then we called them. Before I even hung up the phone with LG customer service I received the following email: LGs Authorized Service providers in your area are not showing availability at this time. We are urgently reaching out to other service providers to request their first available slot so that you can be supported as quickly as possible. You will be notified when an appointment is confirmed. If 7 days has passed from the date of this notice and you have not been scheduled for an appointment, please contact LG and we will escalate your case.I then took it upon myself to look at the LG website and called the 2 listed service providers in our area. They both stated they are no longer completing LG warranty services. Unsure of where to turn, we called Orville’s where we purchased the fridge. They gave us a phone number for who they said is the only LG employee who completes these repairs in our area. We called him and he was kind and helpful but he is unable to complete the repair unless LG sends the request. (We wondered why they hadn’t.) He double checked and never received anything pertaining to our issue. Good news is he has availability later this week and said he would be happy to do this but we must call back LG.I called & they told me that if we give him our Reference number that he will be able to set it up. We call back the tech/LG employee who says that is NOT true. I called back again and tried to tell them that we have an LG employee who is ready & willing to complete our repair this week but need them to set it up. They sounded surprised and after some back and forth on hold said they weren’t allowed to do this.Ok so what is the next step? I was told that LG is reaching out the an alternative service provider and will let us know when they get something on the schedule. Couldn’t get a company or any clear idea of what would be done. I asked when we might hear something and it was unclear but there wasn’t even anyone available to talk more with until Monday! So it’s 90 degrees and we don’t have a refrigerator. This is the only website that I have seen LG respond to. I will survive but honestly there are other customers who can’t access the same resources and it is concerning to read that we are one of SO MANY that go through this. This is clearly a widespread issue and LG’s lack of response so far will cause me to shop other brands in the future and also warn others of these problems. It’s not so much the fact that the appliance failed, it’s that it’s impossible to get it fixed in a timely manner. LG needs to find a solution and get some sort of procedure in place. I am hopeful this review will trigger a response & resolution.

I was out of country for business when my wife tells me our 5 year old LG refrigerator stopped working. I had her call LG customer service department (India). They provided her with an authorized LG Service Center 50 miles from our house. The cost for the service center to make the service call to my home was $215 which included 1 hour of labor that would be applied to the service call and anything left over applied to the repair. It took the service center 1 week to make the service call. At 5 years my refrigerator has only a 7 year warranty on the compressor with no labor covered. The service call by the service center determined the compressor and motherboard were bad. The repairman only assessed the call for 15 minutes leaving 45 minutes toward repair. I was also told that I would have to get the parts from LG. Contacted LG for the parts and they said the service center would have to order the parts.I went back and forth for about a week between the service center and LG. Got an LG Case Number that was offered after about the 15th call to LG. I asked for a US based LG customer service rep and was told that does not exist. Today LG offered to send the Service Center a Part Authorization # so that they could order the parts. I am going on 3 weeks without a refrigerator functioning in my home. I was told the Part Authorization # will take at least 3 days. The service center says once they have the Part Authorization # it will take about a week to get the part. Then another week to come out for the service repair call. If you are thinking of purchasing an LG product you are out of your freakn mind.

We bought our LG fridge (model # LBC22520SW /03) new back in 2011 (it was on back-order at the time, because apparently many others were duped into purchasing this piece of junk). It is now one year old. I never knew an appliance could simultaneously be so cheap and yet so expensive. The first time I had to call the repairman was three months after the purchase (he didnt even call me back until two days later; by that time, I had fixed the stupid thing myself). The problem, ironically, is that the freezer fan cannot operate under cold conditions. We cant use our ice maker or it will make the fan freeze over, which in turn makes the freezer and fridge stop working. But it doesnt stop there! If we fill our freezer 1/4 full with food, it makes the freezer too cold and the fan will freeze over, and again the fridge stops working. But wait, theres more ... Weve now lowered the freezer temperature to its lowest setting, but apparently thats still too cold for this cheap fan to handle. Thawing the fan with boiling water has now become an activity that we must do twice daily. Weve lost hundreds of dollars worth of food, not to mention the overpriced cost of the fridge to begin with. Do yourself a favor and dont buy an LG fridge!

Purchased an LG side by side refrigerator in October 2016 with an extended warranty. Last week 7/20/20 I noticed a warm freezer and warm refrigerator temp. I called LG to schedule a service call and was told August 4 was the next availability. Also was told that was the best they could do. I researched area authorized LG repair and found Sears appliance repair. When I called they had told me July 28 was their next available date. I called LG back to let them know, I was told that dispatch could not be changed even after I found the earliest available date from a factory authorized repair center. Sears told me that warranty would have to be submitted directly to LG by me after repair and bill was taken care of. Sears was great. They came earlier than expected, had the parts on the truck and all was fixed in a couple of hours. We paid the bill and contacted LG for warranty claim. Not only was my wife put on hold for hours when asking for a supervisor, but when a supervisor finally connected we were vehemently denied any warranty. The reasoning was that the company they dispatched did not do the repair. When I explained the situation I was told I should have received a repair work order authorization number by the dispatcher for Sears which I never received or was told about. I also suggested that I pay for labor and asked if LG would at least pay for parts (which I still have) and again was denied. Roughly $550 in parts, $450 in labor and it looks like I will be handling the full amount with no resolution. I do not understand why LG did not help better in this situation. I found that these linear compressors have a high failure rate, have multiple class action lawsuits working against LG and poor customer service help from the start to help me rectify this problem. I just do not understand.

Just under two years, both refrigerator & freezer stopped cooling. Thankfully we bought the extended warranty. It will be around 2 weeks before this fridge will be running again. Techs need to come out a diagnosis issue before bringing parts. Waiting a week for someone to even come look at this is crazy. Reading on the internet this is a very common issue with LG fridges. I’ve dealt with LG stuff through the years and the products that I’ve gotten seemed to work very well. Aside from TVs and others, being in the elevator business, I have bought and installed LG elevators, which were good quality products. We got an LG refrigerator and it works well. It keeps the food cool. And when it’s working right, it keeps the ice cream hard, and I like that. I was just having an issue with the food getting warm. Their technician came out within a day and a half and fixed it, but didn’t get it right on the first time. When I told them it wasn’t working, they said they could come the following day, which was a Saturday. I was impressed that they came out even on a weekend. They took care of it early in the morning and got us up and running. So I was really happy. I had a big party planned and the technician got the refrigerator all fixed up before that. It started cooling down really well, and everything was fantastic. The technician was a nice gentleman, and very cooperative. He worked with us. All-around, I was happy with the service that I got from LG. And I would be calling them again if I have any problems with the refrigerator. I’m happy that they have their own service department. A lot of times you get different companies that are servicing the product, and they gotta run to LG to get the parts. The guy we had here is directly connected with LG, so it’s part of their system. And I know, being in the business, that if you’re dealing with the in-house manufacturer, they have better availability of parts and technical support than a middleman. You get a couple of people down this chain, and now you gotta order the parts and it takes longer. But the guy we had was able to come with the parts and then he did the job, and that makes the difference. I would absolutely recommend them.

I bought a Kenmore Elite Refrigerator (LG compressor) in November 2015. It had a ten year warranty on the compressor. In November of this year (2019), the refrigerator stopped cooling suddenly. I lost over $200 in frozen/refrigerated items. It cost me $99 to just have a repairman show up and then another $260 to have diagnostics run to determine the failure mode. It was a bad compressor. Took another week to get parts (although repairman had a truck full of new compressors since he replaces over 30 a month) and then another couple days to get the repairman back out to fix. Total bill to have fixed was over $500. Repairman told me he has had three newly replaced compressors fail within 48 hours just this month. LG has a known design defect in the compressor system that they refuse to acknowledge or fix and continues to sell this faulty product. Do not buy an LG refrigerator.

To be honest, the other appliances have been OK for their purchase price... This dishwasher, however, has broken down after 2 years of normal use. After calling their very friendly customer service phone bank (that has no actual power to do anything), I was informed that, lucky for me, in order to repair the dishwasher, I had two options: pay $400 for a warranty or only $265 for a repair! How can you produce products and not parts for the products? I have not been able to reach executives as of to date and still without a working oven. Bad... customer service.

I purchased an LG front loading washing machine and it doesnt clean our clothes. There is not enough water coming into the machine to clean the clothes so they come out dirty. They have sent a technician out twice who claims it is a defect in their machines but then writes a report that the machine operates, so customer service wont do a thing to help you. This is the worst customer service experience I have had. Dont waste your money. They dont stand by their product!

I purchased my LG Steam Washer and Dryer on 11/26/10 from Home Depot. Thankfully, I purchased a 4 year extended warranty. Now a little over a year later, my dryer all of the sudden stops heating. I made a phone call to Home Depot on March 23rd and they contracted the work out to Appliance Solutions of Utah. When they came to do repairs, they said the dryer needed a new thermostat, the part needed to be ordered and they would be back in 3 days to do the repair. Two weeks go by and never heard from the repair guy and he never showed up on the day he said he would (I took the day off work so I could make sure I was here). Finally after 3 weeks, he showed up claiming they got sent the wrong part he replaced the thermostat and was on his way. Five days later (3/28/12), the heating on my dryer went out. I once again called Home Depot. They got the same company out. The very next day, the guy replaces the same part, the thermostat and then tells me that there is nothing wrong with the dryer. He said that I need to get my ducts cleaned out and that I can just use my dryer unhooked from the wall until I get that done. I used my dryer unhooked from the wall and once again, a week later, the heating goes out on the dryer. So, I gave Home Depot a call. Three days later, the same company shows up. Now hes claiming my dryer is out because its not hooked up to the wall but he needs to order a new thermostat again so it can once again get replaced. The repair man said he would be back in 3 days. Over two weeks have passed since he said that, I havent even received a call from the company and he just left my dryer in pieces in my laundry room. I can barely get in there. I am completely fed up with this worthless dryer, Home Depot, and Appliance Solutions of Utah. I dont think LG should be able to get away with selling these fraudulent dryers to people anymore and apparently no one knows how to repair the dumb things so they dont continue to have these problems.

We got a Front Loader washing machine and dryer from LG in May 2017. Since day one I saw that my cloth are not clean. I tried bulky, heavy and extra water, but my cloth are only partially wet. LG claimed that I dont know how to wash since it is an high efficiency machine. I had Front loading machines since 20 years. A technician came out and mentioned that he hears that a lot and we should add water. LG drags it out.

200 characters isnt enough to explain, LG wont offer up they know about the issue and that they extended all warranties on the linear compressor to 5 years. My refrigerator was purchased on Nov. 1, 2017. https://lgcommunity.us.com/discussion/3871/important-lg-refrigerator-warranty-information-announcement-please-read. Opened case with LG support, LG happily said that my refrigerator is under warranty when my LG account for registering my appliances clearly says it is out of warranty. You have to call the number in the link that I added to get the warranty work. Talking with the agent, who was pleasant to speak with, also came back and said that LG will also offer to pick up the cost of the Labor on this call as a complimentary service. Really? It is stated in the warranty that Labor is covered! So much for the fake gesture, is Life Good? Anyway, back to my story. Now that I finally got to the bottom of all this, we have a service ticket generated and the agent is working to confirm a service technician in my area to take the service call, stating we will have someone within 24 hrs. Ok, well we all know by now, 3 days after the refrigerator has stopped cooling and at 61 degrees, all of our food is no longer safe to eat. It is now exactly 24hrs from placing my service call with LG and still no confirmed service technician on the case, when-o-when will my refrigerator cool again? And Ill just leave all discussion about the pandemic going on right now, ugh...As I continue to do more research about this topic, how many of you are aware of the class action suit against LG for this exact issue? ** I guess it pays to do your research. After the cost of a technician to tell me the compressor isnt functioning properly and a hum hum nudge nudge on the shoulder saying check this out, I discovered all this and am now expecting my refrigerator to be fixed for free. Once it is fixed I have to ask one more question. Is the new compressor covered by a 5 year warranty from the day it was installed, it should be! After all, we all know that this compressor will also fail within the next 36 months, give or take. This is the second generation linear compressor and LG has yet to fix its know issues, I am not aware of a 3rd generation compressor coming out any time soon. If you continue to research you will find that LG has already gone through a class action suit for this same issue on compressors prior to these. I hope this was some what helpful to anyone reading this and doing their own research into an LG refrigerator. Anyone looking for a French Door Refrigerator? I have one for sale!

I purchased an LG model # LRFD22850ST about 5 years ago. On and off for the last 5 years, my fire alarms would go off. We could never find what the cause was. Thought maybe it was just the batteries needing to be replaced in my alarms. Never thought it could be the lights inside our refrigerator. Then one day, I opened up the refrigerator to the smell of burnt plastic. The light fixture cover was melted to the refrigerator. The sockets were black, and the food on the top shelf was as hot as if it just came out of the oven. I peeled off the light fixture and was able to get the light bulbs out. I unplugged the entire unit and called LG. They told me there was a problem (I later discovered there was a class action lawsuit) and that they would send someone out to fix the problem. No charge to me. I was told that I should be fine to plug the unit back in but to make sure not to put any light bulbs in. They set up an appointment with a service provider they chose. The service provider called me and LG and refused to take the call. They said it was very difficult to deal with LG and were never able to get the parts needed. LG then chose another service provider. Same story. They refused the call for same reason. LG then informed me that they ran out of service providers in my area and that my case was being transferred to the Locator Department (I guess this happens quite a bit for the company to set up an entire department to find people / someone to service their appliances!). They said that would take 5 - 7 business days. Of course, this was on a Thursday and Columbus Day is on Monday. So they probably wont even start to look till Tuesday, which means seven business days is actually more like 2 weeks. But I should be ok to plug it back in and wait all that time and take the chance that my house will burn down! I have spoken to several repair companies and many salespeople, and all seem to believe that if an appliance goes on fire you should never plug it back in. So Im off to buy another appliance. Dont think I will ever get anything from LG. Customer service was horrible. If youre looking at appliances, I would think twice on an LG product.

This is a PSA regarding LG dishwasher LDP6797BD. First do not buy any LG products. I purchased this dishwasher in Oct./17 and it has been broken down twice. The repair tech arrived to fix it and the parts shipped were damaged so therefore he could not fix it. So called customer service. Rep Ali started talking the moment I asked that the unit be replaced explaining that the repairs had to be completed. He was finished with his work and explained that to her, she then told him he had to talk to technical department in order to recommend replacement. Our repairman assured me that LG doesnt replace any defective appliances that they will replace every part instead. I will be replacing this piece of junk and will tell everyone on every site I can NOT TO BUY THIS POS from LG Electronics.

I contacted your technician through my dealer at Kottakkal in Malappuram dist. The technician informed me that the warranty period is over and theres nothing to do. Though the complaint noticed recently it occurred, quite early, within one year of purchase. I am writing you today regarding my LG3036-ST Gas range that I purchased from Best Buy earlier this year. Recently, while using my stove for the first time the top oven caught fire and the broiler would not shut off. This malfunction resulted in the fire department coming to my home to put out the fire and disconnect the stove. This was the second range that we had been given by LG, the first did not work upon arrival (3 of the burners did not work and the top oven would not turn on). Prior to buying my range, researched extensively for the best product for my limited funds and settled on the LG3036-ST. While I was disappointed that the first range did not work, I was horrified that the second malfunctioned and caught fire. Following the fire, we contacted Best Buy about getting a technician to look at the Range and to replace or fix it. Best Buy sent a representative who looked at the stove and decided that it did indeed malfunction and needed to be replaced. The tech even stated in his report that it was not a grease fire but was caused by a malfunction. As the range is under warranty from LG, Best Buy is requiring a return authorization number. So we began calling their customer service hotline to obtain this number. Our first contact was a call center employee who took our information and said that someone would contact us in 5 days. It was very frustrating that we had to wait 5 days to even TALK to someone who could potentially help us. Finally we spoke to someone at LG who forwarded us along to various departments and more equally unhelpful people. I think we have spoken to 6 or 7 people at this point, with each of them telling me that they couldnt issue a return authorization number but maybe the next person could. We are now heading into our third week of dealing with some of the most incompetent customer service I have ever encountered. The person we are now dealing with, Cindy ** at executive services, has stated to us that we need to obtain a fire report that shows it is a faulty valve that caused the fire. So, I took time off of work (which cost me money) and went to the fire station who then told me that in our city (Chattanooga, TN) they are not allowed to state cause of damage unless it is an arson investigation, which this is not. Their report is so broad, it simply states fire in the kitchen. After relaying this information back to **, she then told us that your technical department believes that the fire is a grease fire and not due to your products failure. They think this off of pictures taken by my wife on HER CELLPHONE. They are directly contradicting the actual repairman who has seen the oven in person based off pictures on a cellphone of the exterior of the stove. After a few days of stalling, LG agreed to return the stove yesterday June 19th only to rescind their offer today June 20th after their techs looked at the cellphone picture again. They literally took the word of a tech behind a computer in Korea over a tech who physically came to our house and diagnosed the problem. I realized in that moment that LG has no intention of helping us and are only seeking to further their corporate bottom-line. We have been more than patient as their customer service department has stalled, passed the responsibility and blatantly lied about the cause of the fire. There have been no apologies for our situation, no efforts to help and no basic human decency. To say that I am frustrated is a huge understatement. In building our home, we also purchased a few whirlpool appliances, two of which had a few small issues. Rather than give us the run-around, like your company has done, Whirlpool responded quickly and had a service person at our home within 24 hours who not only fixed the problem but went above and beyond in helping us. I was so pleased I have encouraged my friends and family to purchase Whirlpool products and I will continue doing so in the future. In direct contrast is the service LG has provided. I will never purchase an LG product again, I will also discourage everyone I know within my sphere of influence against purchasing LG products.

We purchased an LG Tromm Washer in 2005. Shortly after purchasing, we noticed a moldy smell in clothes and on towels. The whites get marks on them as well. As I cleaned around inside, I noticed (over time) a nasty, moldy, slime buildup inside of gasket and output valve would drain nasty sewer water. I have very 3 sensitive children that have allergies and I have asthma as well. This is harming, not helping out health! Also, the detergent dispenser drawer somehow gets stuck a number of times. In order to release it, you have to slide washer away from wall, unscrew the top and pivot it up and slide until you view the drawer then release it. I called customer service and they blame me, telling me I am not cleaning it well enough or just change the subject or ignore completely!

I bought my LG fridge in 2017 and my wife and I woke up to the dreaded compressor failure on it this Sat morning. After reading the reviews on here we were prepared for a horrible experience and to have to go without a fridge/freezer for months with two young kiddos!! I was ready to swear off LG just as other reviewers on here, but here is the abbreviated details of what happened. * Called customer service on Sat. (Was nice to them when I called). * Was told there was an open time slot for this Monday (today) for tech to take a look. * My expectation based on reviews here was tech would show up; explain it would be a month for the part to come in and uff.... * Tech showed up today. Michael who works for LG direct service. He not only had a compressor on him to replace the default one but had all the tools to get it done today. He was very professional and and explained to me contrary to other reviews on here that LG has upgraded and improved their software and the compressors so hopefully this will not happen again. Only took him about 90min to get it all fixed as he knew his stuff! * Fridge is fixed and running only two days after I first called customer service on a weekend at no cost on labor or parts. I don't write many reviews on anything but feel that this was deserving as I'm sure others had valid unpleasant experiences, but mine was a very positive one. If anyone else has this issues don't hit the panic button based on other's reviews. I don't know if it helped the cause but I was very calm and understanding when I called them to explain the problem as well. Products are going to have issues but I will judge a company based on how they deal with those problems and LG handled this very professional and I am very satisfied. Hopefully this repair holds up but if not if they deal with it the same way this one went they will retain me as a customer on future purchases. I do really like the fridge as well so 5 stars both for the fridge as well as the service.

I purchased the LG Dishwasher and it is so pretty. I first ran the dishwasher just after installed and of course everything was wet for a couple of days. I dried the dishes and left the door and top (3rd) tray open as it seemed to hang on to the water. Then I remember the Rinse Aid so filled it up and ran again. Again everything was wet but not as bad. Then I decided to read some of the reviews (I had read them before but on Google reviews). Now I am wondering if my life will consist of drying dishes. That is a job I hate which is why I have the dishwasher. I have been on LGs site and did not find much help. BTW I also purchased a stove with no serial number easily accessible. Not my month.

I remodeled my kitchen in 2011 and installed a LG gas range (model LRG3093ST). My range is right at 2 years old. For the last 6 months, the knobs have been splitting and spinning on the posts so that they do not turn the gas totally off. At first I smelled gas and could not figure out what was wrong until one split and lost a chunk of plastic to the point that turning it did not turn the flame off at all. I wrapped wire tightly around the posts to limp along, but now all are broken to the point none will turn on or off the gas. When I contacted LG, I was told they were out of warranty and I would be responsible for the purchase of the knobs. I told MCM Electronics, which they referred me to, that I would buy more knobs if they are better quality - not plastic. However, they are only authorized to sell original (defective) parts and they referred me to contact LG directly. After reading these reviews, how does LG get away with continuing to provide defective parts of any kind that are dangerous? If this were a car, the units would be recalled or new replacement parts would have to be upgraded. Leaking gas and fires can kill as well as car accidents. I will certainly do better research before purchasing any appliance again in the future - I am sure it will not be LG.

Had two LG refrigerators fail within 5 years. The monumental problem is the horrible customer support and the way they try to keep delaying until you get frustrated and just lay out the money for another refrigerator. Planned obsolescence and they charge quite a bit. They should not be permitted to sell in the USA. I have been calling for our most recent refrigerator failure and they told me to wait by the telephone. They would call me on Monday and that was ten 10 days ago so I call and each time I call they state they are trying to find a service person and it shouldnt be that hard in a large city. Many times they promise you everything on the telephone in order to get a good call in review then do nothing about the request for help, totally manipulative. The current one that failed, I might add, in about 4 years.

Where do I start. I have the top loading, no agitator, wave force. It uses too much electricity figuring out load weight. It doesnt clean the clothes well. The bleach dispenser has ruined many towels. If I interrupt a cycle to add an item (during that time the machine allows you), it screws up the machine on how much water to add so it fills the tank completely full. Contacting the company is a joke. The repairman tells me everythings normal (hes probably in a hurry to go to the next complaint of LG washers. The feature I have allows me to put my phone up to it so LG can hear the beeps and tones for a diagnose - DOESNT WORK (hence the repairman). I extended my warranty to three years. As of today, 2012, all 5 knobs are either loose, fallen off, all completely cracked. Well, Ive finally had it with this machine. We bought it & the matching electric dryer from former homeowners when we bought their house. Guess we should have done more research into the plethora of problems these sorry excuse for an appliance really have. These junkers wouldve been out on the road the second we moved in. First, within a month the dryer died. One morning I turned it on & it started smoking, so that was that. Out to the curb! Next, we had been using the LG steam washer for about 4 months & continually noticed water on the floor around it. Never really found where it was coming from other than a drip streak down the side around the detergent drawer where you add the soap/bleach. Another issue was the door lock kept malfunctioning & wouldnt let the load run unless you either slammed the door shut or put pressure on it with your knee when it was trying to lock. Then the thing would sound like a 747 taking off when it was in spin mode. It would shake violently & eventually wake up the baby with its deafening whir. Finally, it showed an error message saying the pump wasnt able to drain the tub because of a clog or something. So I got on my hands & knees to screw open the drain trap & 5 gallons of water came gushing out all over the floor. There is a small rubber hose down there also, but when I took out the plug on the end of it no water drained out. What gives LG? Do you need a wet/dry vac at the ready to do this procedure or a stack of towels so you dont trash the floor? Very poor design! And doing this did absolutely nothing. Same error code came up & the pump just sickly rumbled. So it is now out on the curb also awaiting a trip to the dump where it belongs. Please, everyone, do not buy these piece of refuse appliances from LG. You will only bring upon yourself great pain & grief. Time to break out the old GE top loader that I know works fine. Glad I held onto it for back up. DONT BUY LG!!!

It is mainly the water dumping that is getting to me. I was running Tub Clean with a semi-bleach product recommended for HE machines, and I heard drip drip drip once again. Shut machine off and have to pay for a same day visit as same day is not covered by service contract. I was told last time by someone from LG, Its a 2 year old machine. Really? I bought an LG Refrig/Freezer side by side unit in 2013. Within four months, the doors stopped sealing causing all food inside to spoil while I was out of town. Not covered by warranty, spent over $200 to have it repaired. Repair seal was no better which resulted in a second spoilage and waste of hundreds of dollars of food. Spent another $200 - all this within a year. I bought LG because they were supposedly good. I have learned the hard way. This is far from the truth. This morning my refrigerator was dead at the age of 31 months. After calling support number I was told to hire a technician. DO NOT PURCHASE ANY LG REFRIGERATOR!!! We bought an LG French door refrigerator less than a year ago and we no longer have a refrigerator already. A very expensive appliance that is required normally important in life has been broken for over a month now. LG sent out a subcontracted company name Tasko who set an appt initially A day or so after report of failure of the compressor. Technician showed up unable to speak English and said I think....after only a few minutes someone else would have to come back...he couldnt fix the issue. I said, why did you come if you can not fix it and when will someone be back? My refrigerator isnt working and all my food is spoiling. EXPENSIVE LOSS!!! Plus its almost THANKSGIVING! He replied, someone will call by Friday...a whole week away...NO ONE CALLED FOR 2 more weeks! I received a call out of the blue on November 5th (my birthday) stating...I am on my way! I said, no you are not...NO ONE CALLED TO SET AN APPT AND ITS MY BIRTHDAY, we are not available! I said, I will call you back to set appt. Before an appointment was made...No phone call or appt was made with me but the Technician who does NOT speak English...KNOCKS ON MY DOOR ON VETERANS DAY! I am not dressed and not prepared for this person to be in my home. My husband shockingly lets this tech in and he had me trapped in my bedroom for probably 5-6 hours in which I was having a medical emergency with my cat and I needed to get my cat to Vet. This Tech finally leaves and did not fix the refrigerator but leaves it unplugged saying do not plug in for 3 hours. My food is still spoiling and after 3 hours the refrigerator is now making a very loud noise and is not working at all to cool anywhere.I received a call from LG the next afternoon and I informed the rep of the horrendous customer service and how very unhappy and angry I was at how this man was in my home without a appt and unannounced at all. The rep said, I understand and will be calling Tasko to discuss this with the Tech and he knew that communication with that company was not easy to accomplish from prior conversations. He is very sorry for our experience. Our refrigerator does not work at all at this time. I call LG back a day or so after not hearing a word back and I AM STILL WITH A FRIDGE AND THANKSGIVING IS FAST APPROACHING!!! I called to request a new refrigerator as this is a class action suit issue across the country and My fridge is under warranty. I got the run around saying I must produce a receipt now even though they gave us all in their computer as customers of this fridge. I said I can not find my receipt and the company we purchased it at HH Gregg has closed all stores so I can not get a receipt from them because they did not upload to the warranty dept that bought their contracts. I am constantly calling for a new refrigerator STILL on Nov 21 and THANKSGIVING is tomorrow...I HAVE NO REFRIGERATOR NOW FOR OVER A MONTH and no one seems to give a flying rip and wants to send the same company back to my home that I have had such a horrific experience with for the past month. I requested to speak to the President of LG and was told they dont have that number!!! I said, Are you kidding me?!! The rep said, I will request a EXECUTIVE will call you within the next two days. Meanwhile, I AM STILL WITHOUT A REFRIGERATOR that is less than a year old and tomorrow is THANKSGIVING!!! I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL FROM AN EXECUTIVE and suspect I will not be, I think its time to contact one of the class action suit attys! Thoroughly disgusted, frustrated and infuriated! Do not buy any refrigerator from LG...or anything else if this is how you will be treated especially after spending nearly $4000 dollars for such an important appliance in life!

I purchased the machine about 6 years ago. For the last few years, rust has accumulated around the outside of the bleach dispenser (i.e., the area where you pour the bleach in to be dispensed later during the wash cycle). It is getting worse and covers a larger area as time goes on. According to the LG customer service, the cause is spilled bleach around the dispenser area and furthermore, they say, this is merely cosmetic and does not affect the function of the washing machine. I disagree.First, as noted, the area is growing. Second, there are stains on clothing after washing that are hard to explain any way other than something to do with the rust on the body of the machine. Finally, I do not believe it has anything to do with spilled bleach because there is a spout in the back of the machine that delivers rinse water and that spout is also rusting. It would be necessary for me to purposefully pour bleach over this spout, or wipe it on, in order to for bleach to cause the rust in that location. Like some other reviewers, I have had a few problems with a UE error message, but it usually works out. This could be because I do wash rather small loads and I tend to use the bulky bedding setting, even for small loads, to get enough water to thoroughly wash and rinse the clothes.Overall I am very disappointed with the LG and would prefer an agitator type machine in order to not use so much water for small loads. Thats what I will be looking for to replace this one - since spending even $300 for a technician to come and look at it seems excessive. I should add that three years ago I purchased another LG machine for a different location; at that time there was no rust on my home washer. The newer machine has been used rarely because it is in a vacation house. Nonetheless, after approximately 100 uses, the circuit board quit and the machine is dead. Naturally it is out of warranty, so getting rid of it seems the only sensible solution.

Bought a brand new LG Top Freezer Refrigerator in Nov 2012 at Home Depot. It was working well & ran quiet. It has pretty good style & is functional. However, a little after a year in early 2014 the refrigerator started to act up. It was getting very noisy, and I noticed some ice build up at the back of the freezer interior. I tried to troubleshoot the problem, and tried to adjust the setting to make it less cold, but it didnt work. The fridge was get so loud I had to unplug it once in a while. I was fed up with the noise & the ice buildup, & decided to remove all the foods & defrost the fridge for half a day. Once the ice melted away & I plugged the refrigerator back the noise disappeared. I thought that solved the problem... Was I wrong. The troubleshoot helped to eliminate the annoying loud noise for a week & the noisy starting to creep back. And I noticed the freezer and fridge temperature was not cold enough. I found ice cream in the freezer was soften. Weeks went by, I just continue to struggle with the fridge. I finally bought two thermometer to monitor the freezer & refrigerator temp. The freezer was in the 30s and the fridge was in the 40s to 50. I realized miracle would not happened by waiting & contacted LG.I contacted the local authorized repair service, and I spent $170 for the 2 hr diagnosis service. The tech told me the sealed system was leaking - that was why the freezer had ice buildup, & the fan built out due to the ice buildup. The back of the freezer was frozen solid with ice when the tech opened the panel. I contact LG about the results of the diagnosis and I insisted LG should cover the cost of the repair for the leak & the burned out fan. I had to went back and forth with LG and the repair service for more than a week to get them to agree that the repair should be covered by the warranty. And LG agreed to pay for the parts but not the labor. The repair service quote me $450 plus but could be more. At that time I was furious. I paid $800 something plus tax on this fridge, and they expected me to spend $600 to $700 to repair it. No way Jose!! It was painful to let go a good looking fridge that still look brand new, but I decided to cut the loss & went to Sears to get a Kenmore for less than $600 before tax. Interestingly at Sears, I saw a Kenmore model with the exact interior design of the LG fridge I bought... scary!! Customers, please watch out that you dont buy a Kenmore fridge that make by LG. I will have my Kenmore fridge deliver today. This time I bought a extended 5-year warranty just to be on the safe side.

We were shopping for appliances and there was a good deal for the LG bundle. However, the refrigerator had an irreparable leak in the coil. We’ve had it for about six years, but the average lifespan of a refrigerator should be longer than that. There were several visits by the technicians. Ultimately, what they determined was that it couldn’t be repaired and that they would send us the retro value of the unit based on depreciation. So, we ended up getting a check. The actual sending of the check, once it was mailed and I received it at my home, was very quick. But the process of the first technician’s visit to getting them to say that they were gonna send us a check took probably two to three months. It was a really long, drawn-out process.

We purchased all new LG appliances for our home. The dishwasher stopped working after 7 months. We called their support number and the people there do not know what they are doing. We have waited 2 weeks and no one has called, so I called them again. They still have not found a service company that will respond to our service call. They will not escalate the issue or give out phone numbers to reach someone higher up. I will not buy another LG product again and do not recommend purchasing one.

We purchased an LG fridge in November. Soon we noticed water puddling on top of the freezer door (bottom freezer model). Then we noticed that the water was freezing on the outside of the ice maker bucket, and that the ice cubes were melting then freezing together. When we used a blowdryer to melt some of the ice so we could remove the ice bucket, the melted water ran out, not from the dispenser as we would expect, but from all the seams in the door. On February 9th, I sent in a repair request. The provider I was given (which took a couple of days to receive) was unprofessional and after giving my address, told me they had no availability in my area and to find someone else and hung up. On February 14th, I received two more service providers contact info. One of them never answered my repeated calls. The other one informed me that they only serviced a neighboring county. Around February 21, I received another service providers contact info, and a service appointment was set up for March 1, between 8 am and noon. I took the morning off work. When the technician had not arrived by 12:30, I called the service provider who said they would contact the technician and get back to me. I was called back in a few minutes and was told the technician was stuck in traffic and would be at my home by 1 pm. At 1:15, he had still not arrived and I called the service again. She said she would call him again and get back to me. This time when she called back, she said he did not answer his phone and she that she left him a voicemail. When he finally showed up, around 2:30, he said that he had been running a little behind. After looking at the ice maker, he told me this was a common problem with this model of fridge and we would need a whole new door, which might or might not fix the problem, and someone would be in touch with me within 24 hours to set up an installation date and time. Nine days later, I got the call and an appointment was scheduled for March 13th, again between 8 am and noon. Again, I took the morning off work. Again, the technician did not arrive till after 2 pm. He did install a new door, said we were all set and left. And now the ice maker does not work at all. So far, Ive missed two days work, dealt with 4 incompetent and unprofessional service providers authorized by LG. Ive read many reviews praising LG products, but frankly all the reviews for their customer service are very negative (wishing we had checked those out and not just the product reviews when we purchased the appliances in November).

This is about my front-loading washer. For some reason it ties the clothes in knots all around each other. And it doesnt put enough water in the tub. Sometimes a load of clothes is still dry in the centre when I take it out. Since its the water that cleans and your soap just helps the water, this makes the washer ineffective and difficult to use. My last front loader did neither of these things, but I was told that the quality of that brand had declined so went with LG, as Id had good experiences with some of their other products. BAH!!

I bought a LG Over the oven Microwave about two years ago. It just suddenly died on me after gentle use. I went to heat up a small meal and realized the thing was totally dead. It did not show the time, the inside light was not on - nothing. I checked my house power outlet to make sure it was ok and it was. So, it was the microwave that was not working. I will never buy another LG product. And I will also tell everyone not to buy their products.

After one half hour on the phone with LG customer service, I left so mad I would never buy an LG product and will do anything I can to discourage anyone I know from buying one. My two thousand dollar refrigerator did not have one (the owners manual clearly states one should come with unit). But after spending more than a half hour with their customer service I still have no plug, and now can look forward to wasting even more time with Home Depot, trying to get something that should have come with the unit. If LG cant handle a problem over a 50 cent plug, think how they will react to a real problem. I owned retail stores before retiring, and would have fired any employee that handled a problem like this.

Washer is only 2 months old. Clothes do not get clean. Huge amount of detergent residue is left on clothes even after running 2 full cycles. Now clothes and comforters are literally ripping in half. Repairman found defect in the tub ring causing the rips. Neither LG nor Best Buy will allow me to return it for a different model. Im stuck with an 800-dollar washer that cant clean and needs a repair at 2 months old. I will never buy LG product again.

Our washer and dryer are labeled Kenmore but are actually made by LG, they both function perfectly, wash and dry great, no problems in the 3 years we have had them, look nice also. Cycles are pre programmed for a variety of types of materials and are customizable within types. The washer has a cleaning process which is a bit inconvenient but just requires a little time to accomplish, overall we like the machines and would buy again.

Purchased our washer from Home Depot about (4) years ago, and if I could return it, I would. This has been the worst machine I have ever had. It doesnt dispense enough water to clearly wash clothes. I know this as my husband drives a truck for a living and brings home very grungy work clothes, and I can never get them spotless. Its really disappointing when you spend good money on appliances, to only have that money wasted on something you cant return. This machine smells, rattles and take forever to complete a cycle. Theres no rushing to get a load done at night. I could go to the laundromat faster!

From the very first day I bought it we have had ice build up in the top drawer of the freezer. I called for about 2 or 3 weeks to the store I bought it from. I was told it was the humidity and not to worry. I kept calling back and finally they gave me the number of a repair man. He came a number of times and did what the LG people told him to. Every time he came he replaced another part. Nothing has worked yet. They said as long as the rest is working its just an inconvenience. My thought is for 3000.00 I shouldnt have to have an inconvenience. I have since given up getting anything done. I have the same kind of fridge (different brand) out in the garage and it is in humidity and have never had any problem with it or any other fridge I have owned. Will never buy that brand again. I have owned it for a little over a year now and I have never had one day without ice on my food and drawer.

LG wt5001c Bad Washer. Purchased in 9/12 at HD with 3 year extended warranty. After 2 yrs I had issue with motherboard. Then 1 year later I had issues with transmission and drive which was replaced. Repairmen mentioned to me that quality control has been slipping from manufacturer due to mass production.

We purchased a new LG Washer & Dryer 05-06-2013. The washer has been banging very loudly while the water adjustment turns on & off during its cycle. Also we have noticed a strong mildew smell in the washer as well. I have had to replace the hot & cold water valves due to this erratic banging of our plumbing pipes. We had contacted the LG contact people & they have not been cooperative/helpful. They gave me names & numbers of repair services that do not service our area. Called them the next week & was told a service would be contacting me within 3 days. However, no one had called us & they gave me conflicting info once again. We cannot afford to pay for any more plumbing problems due to this still erratic washer banging problem. Our other unit we had worked the same way. This unit does & it never gave us this disturbing problem. Sincerely!!!!!

This washer is only 5 years old. There is no reason it should be failing already. Even with small loads, it continues to go into the UE mode, and repeats cycles constantly. So the alleged energy savings is out the window. It will frequently take as long as 2 hours to get one load done. And thats if it finishes at all. LG televisions we have are pretty reliable. No complaints. But their washers and dryers are not worth the money spent.
