3 times LG tech. replaced the linear compressor in my LG refrigerator. Each time cost me $375.00 in labor cost time 3. Total cost $1,150.00. Me and my wife we are over 70 retire. We did spend so much food and time talking by phone to LG customer service and supervisor trying convince them to replace the lemon refrigerator with new one or help paying for the labor cost because no longer we cant afford buying new one or continue waste money for repair labor cost. NO WAY. I wonder a many LG linear compressor need to be replaced and a many thousand of dollar need to be waste before LG electronic replace my LG lemon refrigerator with new one. Sorry for my English.

I bought top of the line dryer from LG. I wanted a Kenmore, but was talked out of it at the store by an expert salesman. I’ve had nothing but problems with it ever since this time. It doesn’t dry clothes, sensors all go off and now I’ve contacted LG, they sent Callahan’s repair, they said I needed a part. I waited a week and then they cancelled the appt. I now am waiting for an “outbound” segment of LG to contact me to try and get a new company to fix the problem. This is while being placed on hold for at least an hour. Very disappointed in LG and will never buy their products again!

I bought an LG large capacity washer and dryer 6 years ago. I paid over $1600 for the pair at Home Depot. There are only 3 in my family so I dont have a lot of laundry like some larger families do. Just recently, my washer had a smell like something was on fire and making a banging noise. I called the LG repair service and a rep came out to take a look. He told me that the bearings were wearing out on the tub and to fix it, they would have to change the whole tub for about $450. Seriously! They just dont make products like they used to. I will never buy an LG product again.

I bought an LG dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, clothes washer and dryer for my new home eight years ago. As of today I had to replace the refrigerator, the microwave and I am now on my third dishwasher and now my washing machine died. Service is horrible!!! Response to issues horrible, product reliability is non-existent. I wish there was a way to bring LG to the table to respond to bad product issue. I recommend no one buy their products!

Not heating or cooling on a 3.5 year old $3,000 refrigerator. I bought the now discontinued LG LFXS29766S refrigerator in August of 2015. It looks like new and has had no problems until last week on a Tuesday when I realized it had stopped cooling and making ice. I called the store I purchased from and was told that I had luckily bought a 60 month extended warranty, but I had to call them to get service. I called and the first time they could get to me was going to be Friday, then the following Tuesday! After speaking with their service person she said that in experience because of the model, a sealed system would have to be ordered and once it arrived they could schedule an appointment. With the caveat that LG can take 3-7 days to even ship the system. So I could most likely be without a refrigerator for 2-3 weeks...WHAT???I really cannot believe that after paying that price for a top of the line fridge that one has to wait 2-3 weeks and in calling local repairmen- NO-one stocks these parts and many do not want to even work on LG. I am hoping that my parts arrive this week and that hopefully it works, reading other reviews for the same problem I am not feeling like I will ever buy an LG product again. My last question to all 5 of the repairmen I called was what they would buy, that lasted the longest, can be fixed and repaired in a timely manner. Their answers were Frigidaire, Whirlpool and Kitchen-Aid. Hopefully this system will last at least another 4-5 years and then I will be buying one of those brands. To top it off I suspect this was a lemon design from the beginning as it has been discontinued. Sigh.

We purchased an LG large capacity washer and dryer set 4 years ago. A few months ago, we noticed the so common thump, thump, thump. I looked inside the dryer and noticed the crack in the rear weld of the drum. I contacted LG. It took numerous calls over 3 weeks before I finally got someone who admitted that the drum had a 5 year warranty because of all the broken welds. Why wasnt this recalled? Why in the hell did it take me 3 weeks before someone owned up to this P.O.S. They put me in touch with Tanstel electronics for the repair. Tanstel tells me they will have to order the drum and will call me when it gets in. They say it should be in in about 2 weeks. 3 weeks later, I call Tanstel and am told, Yeah, the drum is sitting here, been here for a while, when do you want us to come out? Are you kidding me, why didnt they call me when it came in???? Tanstel comes out to do the repair, costs $150. The next load we put in, we notice that if the machine says it is finished in 5 minutes. It keeps on doing this. Apparently, when they replaced the drum, they damaged the sensor that tells the machine when the load is dry. Tanstel comes out again, repairs the sensor and leaves. The sensor still isnt quite right but is better than before. It is now a month later, and my drum doesnt turn anymore. I can hear the motor turning and can smell the rubber band that is supposed to turn the drum burning. I have had it!! I will never purchase another LG item again. Please learn from all the complaints on this board. LG doesnt care about customer service! LG doesnt care about repeat business!

Do not buy LG washers. They are prone to breakage and the service is horrible. I have a 3 year old top loader (LG WT1101CW) and it is a terrible purchase. Light use (2 loads a week) and this thing starts popping the OE error code and not spinning out. I spent a day and a half researching and following the service manual to try to fix. Why did I not call a service tech? Because LG has none in Minneapolis. By the way, the whole phone home thing to find out the problem with your equipment, does NOT WORK. I will have to agree with other posters, this unit is disappointing in the cleaning department as well, it will not get out smells let alone dirt. At this point, as near as I can tell, like others this will need a new control board. (Without labor they charge about 20% of the purchase price.) Please save your money and your blood pressure. LG has earned every bad review you will find here.

I have purchased lg appliances with extended warranty from brick. Next thing you know, the porcelain lining in the stove cracked and peeled off (right the first use of oven). Later on I couldnt shut off largest element. Tech guy came and replaced control module!!! Except the new control module doesnt work well. When I switch largest element on, the number of intensity shows in two windows!? LG fridge - seals on doors broke, rollers for drawers fell off. Plastic inside is so fragile (you better not use it). It breaks on contact. LG dishwasher with steam function -- whole motor assembly was replaced due to busted bearing. How long new assy will work? Only appliance GOD can tell! Today I called LG DIRECT. They said, You are on your own, buddy!!! Good luck!!!

I purchased, in good faith, a new LG refrigerator (side by side) for over $2,200. The cooling system began degrading and I lost all contents in the fridge. The worst part of the experience is that LG did not provide support after many calls. I could not even connect with a senior leader in the company - all reps indicated their policy is to not provide contact information of any senior leader. I could not believe this. They did not care that I spent a great deal of money and faith in their product and the product failed and, they would not even stand behind it. Finally, after several weeks, they sent someone to examine it and made some changes. However, within a week, the temp increased back up to about 60 degrees. They would not send someone back out reasonably quickly, so I contacted a repair service. They came out a few months ago and replaced the compressor. All was fine until, once again, the temp began rising; this time over 65 degrees. I have been trying to get hold of someone who can help me at LG at no avail. I do not typically write reviews about products online (unless positive); however, I feel I have some level of responsibility to you and others to suggest you NOT buy an LG product. The product is not dependable and the service is even worse. Unless youre willing to part with a substantial part of your hard-earned money, consider another brand.

I purchased a brand new LG top loading washing machine and dryer a few months ago and have had nothing but problems with the washing machine. Not only does it NOT clean my clothes, but it actually causes yellow stains to appear on my white cottons. I have contacted LG a number of times and they have just given me the Royal runaround with absolutely NO satisfaction. They have had me do smart analyses and even sent a serviceman to my house twice when I have tried explaining to them multiple times that there is nothing mechanical wrong with the machine...its just a manufacturers design defect (that would be LG). They refuse to listen or agree. I have tried 5 different detergents and now they want me to try pods and even buy a water softener which I do not need because my water is not hard. I had a Kenmore for many years before this lemon, and it worked just fine with my water. I begged LG to exchange this washer for one that actually cleans since I have a warranty as well as an extended warranty and they refuse to do anything at all. They asked for images of the damaged clothes which I sent and cant even get a call back not to mention the fact that the call center is in the Philippines and communication is very difficult and frustrating. They have worn me down which Im sure has been their purpose. My husband and I went out today and had to purchase a new washer and dryer and pay a whole lot more money and take a beating. LG should be ashamed for giving us NO assistance with this faulty product. We did NOT purchase an LG product today nor will we ever purchase one again. They are NOT honorable with their guarantees. So, Buyer Beware! I am happy to lend further info or advice to anyone who wishes to contact me.

We bought lg model lfx31925st/00 side by side refrigerator for over $2000. From day one ice maker leaked water to floor, ice froze together as a chunk, or didnt work. LG has had repairman out 3 times, and totally replaced ice maker unit, had repairman check water lines, and overall refrigerator condition. I have also paid and had same company out to replace ice maker. Its a defect in the model, we got a recall card months ago, but heard nothing else. Recently new situation, (now out of warranty) glass shelf over drawers, literally blew apart in a million pieces. Well we must have called them a hundred times by now. Now that its out of warranty, they tell us to go online and buy items. They are not going to help us. With all the LG refrigerator issues, any knowledge of this recall? Any suggestions?

Unbalanced Flaw UE - LG Front Loader Extra Capacity - Paid way too much to get extra capacity - would love to have my basic front loader back! Extra capacity is worthless if you cant get the load to spin & finish because of the UE code. Ive had to throw away pillows I washed. No problem in my last machine, because this way overpriced LG wouldnt spin it - not alone, not with other items, not after being wrung out, hung to drip dry, not on low spin - NOTHING. The True Balancer is a joke - it is directly causing the problem. What good is an EXTRA CAPACITY washing machine, if you cant wash more than a normal load in it anyway? The time Ive wasted standing in front of this machine, hoping *this time* it would spin, rebalancing items by hand - makes me sick to think how much we paid for this piece of junk. Good luck with customer service - they said there is no recall even though there is post after post of the same UE complaint, and they *might* call me back once the customer service person logs my complaint. Never asked me for any contact info so Im not sure how that will happen...

After 5 years of normal use, the oven in my LG LRE30955ST electric range stopped working (cut off during use). I paid the LG technician $260 in March 2013 to fix it. After 1 month, it started to malfunction, but the malfunction was sporadic. Two months after the repair, the oven started running up to maximum temperature during use and burning whatever was in the oven. I called LG and they sent out the same technician. He changed all control boards and relay boards. He tested the oven and said it now works. I tried to use the oven a couple of days later and it would not turn on. I did a reset. This happened a few times so I did not trust to use the oven. Then on July 4th, I cooked ribs on the grill and turned the oven to warm to keep the ribs warm. The oven ran out of control, but I discovered the smoking oven before the ribs were ruined. I called LG and they argued with me for 1 hour before agreeing to send a technician out to look at the problem. They wanted to troubleshoot it over the phone... You know, the normal BS... is it plugged in, are the oven racks properly placed, did you turn it on properly, etc. The kind of things that makes you angry. LG has a recall on this model, but they say my problem is not related to the recall. They will have to charge me again for fixing the problem. Anyway, long story short... dont buy LG appliances. They are poorly designed and they are poorly supported. The tech is coming out again, but I doubt that it will be properly fixed. I expect that I will toss my 5-year-old, $1,500 range in the trash and buy a different brand.

We purchased our LG Electric Range November 2011. The oven was in need of cleaning, so I started the self-cleaning feature as I have done 2 or 3 times previously. The door locked and the cleaning began. When it was done, even after cooling off. The door is still locked shut and the whole control panel is blacked out, rendering the stove top useless as well. There is absolutely nothing working. We checked the breaker and all connections. Everything is in order. So we called our local repair company and they told us that they have had multiple calls about this same issue. My husband called LG and spoke with a couple of people there including a manager. The first person told us that the self-cleaning feature should be used every couple of months to keep it working properly. We told her that it doesnt say that anywhere in the manual. Basically they said, Sorry we cant help you. This is an engineering defect. And should be taken care of by LG. The lady from our repair company said that on some of the ranges, the cook top has cracked because of the heat. We are very disappointed in this company. And will never buy LG products again.

If only I had checked for reviews prior to my purchase. I moved to Georgia from California a little over a year ago and was so excited about getting a new washer/dryer. I went to Home Depot (its a small town, so the store selection is limited) and found what I thought was a really nice washer/dryer combo from LG. I couldnt have been more disappointed. The washer takes FOREVER - mostly because it continually rebalances the load - all to no avail. After multiple attempts the washer gives up and chimes to tell me to come and rebalance it. Now - Ive had washers before (all with agitators, which this one doesnt have) and one - sometimes two - rebalances corrects the problem... NOT with the LG - sometimes I have to rebalance 6 or 8 times in order for the load to complete the cycle. Then I have to repeat the process with the next spin. It doesnt just happen with odd weight loads or odd sized - its nearly everything. I HATE THIS WASHER. DONT BUY ONE!!!

This has been ongoing since October 2017. We purchased a brand new refrigerator costing us $1500 and it stopped working! LG has sent technicians out to repair the unit however it is not repaired! They have to come out over and over and over again every few months to “repair it”! During this time we are living out of coolers! I I finally got fed up and contacted the corporate office today since my twins have a 103 fever and I’m once again living out of a cooler until they return next week! I spoke to a representative named Milton who was extremely sarcastic and rude! He deemed the unit fixable? Fixable... They have to service it every few months so apparently is defective! He also stated that this was no cost to us! REALLY??? HOW??? It cost to us to continuously miss work over not to mention lose hundreds of dollars worth of groceries! He deemed the refrigerator fixable! They REFUSED to replace it! I’m blown away! BEWARE of the horrible customer service! Wish someone could HELP!!!

I purchased TWO LG front loader washing machines from Home Depot for my own use. From day one the clothes never came out clean. Because I had bought two I assumed that this issue was with my plumbing and had the plumber back in several times. Each time he assured me that there was no issue with the plumbing. I finally called my extended warranty company to come and take a look at the machines. The technician simply shook his head and said that he understands my frustration as he owns the same machine. There is simply no sufficient water in these high efficiency front loaders to wash laundry! They are marketed as giving a superior wash yet DO NOT WASH THE CLOTHES AT ALL! Try washing a load of laundry in the sink and adding just one jug of water! No one works on them hardly, read below... Not good experience... On 1/16/2018 my refrigerator stopped cooling & freezing. (Linear Compressor Unit), Model LFXS24623S, purchased for (note, compressor under 10 year warranty). My problems started in in mid-January 2018. I made the call to LG. There is a very good chance that the refrigerator has a compressor issue based on the symptoms per tech support. Tech support provided me with (4) certified LG service companies to call to schedule a service visit. Out of the four companies none of them would take the job. One was out of range, two did not work on the linear compressors and the other was not working with LG at this time.Summary of the long story: Calls to LG tech support were in excess of 15 and multiple to the service companies. Issues: every call to tech support I had to repeat the entire explanation of what happened, seems that the support group does not read all of the CNN# notes. Frustrating time after time. I had to tell the LG support group who could not work on my unit, who already came, who was out of range, etc… Support does not have direct contact with the LG certified companies to get direct feedback to the consumer (me). Support works with your service contract company to place a work order, consumer is not involved. Caused confusion many times. Many delays with parts coming from LG for first service call, caused many delays. Received (3) case numbers **. Should only have one to have all of the notes/history under one case number? Received (2) RNN numbers **. Received (1) APN number **. 3/15/2018 a certified LG service company (Broadway Sales) final took the job from 1 ½ hours away. After review the LC internal compressor unit has a hole that in “not” repairable. Broadway reported back to LG. Another call to LG for a follow up, LG informed me due to the severity they had to have a second certified company verify the issue. Keep in (8) weeks have passed. One – LG barely found a company to service the unit, Second- (8) weeks has passed. Still not fixed working on (12) weeks... 4/4/2018.

I purchased the LG Dishwasher LSDS4821ST on Nov 30, 2008. I have only used it 3 times since 2008. The dishwasher left too much water in the machine after drying the dishes. The dishes also were not clean nor were they dry. I did call for service during the warranty period only to be told that the left over water is normal, and that the dishes were air dried with a new lg system. The few times that I used the washer I had to clean the excess water at the bottom of the inside of the machine. The dishes were also wet. The last straw was when the dish soap dispenser would not open. That was in 2013, and I have not used it since. The LG customer service gives you the run-around. I purchased a higher end LG double oven gas range. It is made poorly using cheap and thin material. They used a silver film for the knobs to give the appearance of stainless steel. I didn’t even realize a metal looking film was used on the knobs until it started bubbling after a few uses. A year and a half later the bottom oven displays an F19 code. An LG technician replaced the harness and the ignition. 2 years later the exact same issue happens. I contacted LG and they do offer warranties for faulty products. Their products are awful especially for what you pay. There are so many other brands who provide quality products at a reasonable price and stand behind their products. I will never purchase LG products again and DO NOT RECOMMEND their products especially their ranges, refrigerators and dishwashers. They all begin to have issues and fall apart within 2 years and you will have to keep having them repaired around every 2 years.

The LG washer started making oil spots in our clothes. I learned from a friend who is a technician to apply DAWN dishwasher liquid to the spots and let soak. After washing, if the spots come out, its from the machine. I have to clean my machine once a month with a commercial cleaner that is expensive to use. The problem with the washer is that all the cycles except for the towel, bulky items, and large loads do not use enough water to get the soap out of the clothes. The so-called water saving modes are causing the spots. LG tech service is of no help. The LG dryer lint tray compacts the lint so if you dont clean inside the lint trap, the tray will not go all the way down. I had several clothes that were torn because of this. I will never buy another LG appliance again!

After 3 years of ownership, we started having a problem with the ice dispenser freezing. We called into the service desk. They said this wasnt covered in the manufacturers warranty. After replacing a few parts here and there (being parts changers), we decided to call in a repairman. They let us know that the problems we were having have been covered under the warranty, and that we needed to call LG back. After calling in the service center, they agreed to allow one of their servicemen come in and service our unit. Their technicians came in and removed our refrigerator (for 2 months). They brought it back with a new compressor and a bill for the labor. They explained that if the computer board on the front of the unit was not working, we would need to replace that portion out of pocket. So we purchased the circuit board ($100), but the unit still did not work. We called back in to LG. They said we purchased the wrong one. We needed to purchase the other ($80). So we did, but still nothing. After talking with a friend, I decided to purchase the capacitor. The part was delivered on Saturday. I installed the part and 10 minutes later, the part exploded. Literally, white smoke blowing into the ceiling of the kitchen. After replacing parts, paying for parts that were not the problem and getting the runaround from the service center, we purchased a Whirlpool. We will never purchase another LG product again. We will make sure that all of our friends and neighbors hear our story. Most of them have had the same problem with LG.

My new large capacity LG washer model WM8000HVA does not spin out water ninety percent or more of the time regardless of the size or type of load. The machine was purchased on 07-08-14 and delivered at the end of August 2014. I started having problems with the machine not spinning out from the first use. I had three service visits and at the 3rd visit LG technicians suggested that the service tech replace the hall sensor and main computer. They subsequently decided to replace the machine with a new one and the same problem continued. I have had two service appointments on the replacement machine and on the second visit the LG technician replaced the main computer and the hall sensor on 06-10-15 but this did not resolve the problem. I had a medium load in the washer when the tech showed up and the machine would not spin out displaying a UE error code. After replacing the computer and sensor it still did not spin out displaying the same error code so the technician suggested that I take out more than half the clothes and then the machine spin out in three separate loads from what was originally a medium load. I inquired why this is and he informed that the machine was not really designed to wash loads above a certain size or weight. I then inquired why would one buy a large capacity washer that could not wash large loads including comforters and he said he understood. I later called LG Executive office and spoke to ** and informed her that this machine was defective and unsuitable for my needs. She initially said they would not allow a return but then later informed that she would research further and contact me by Friday 06-05. I have not heard back from her or anyone in her office to date.I would like to add that this machine was purchased to replace LG model WM2277H which is a 4.0 CU. FT. Washer which I had for over ten years and was able to wash larger loads in than the new machine with no problems and it still works. The new WM8000HVA is advertised as a 5.2 cu. ft. mega capacity washer. I would like to have LG reclaim this washer and issue a full refund because the service/repair options have been exhausted and the machine is not working as it should which indicate there is an un-repairable defect.

I bought washer and dryers LG (Model WM3170CW and DLE3170W) in Sept 2015. Since that date I made 8 service calls. We had trouble with seal, door, water dripping, UE error code. Think twice before you buy a LG refrigerator. The compressor on mine failed just past a year of use. LG repair people were less than helpful but they finally agreed to pay for new compressor but we were on the hook for labor because we had not purchased extended warranty. My granddaughter purchased a LG refrigerator just after ours. Her compressor failed just after a year. She did purchase the extended warranty but has now been waiting eight weeks for repair with no end in sight. Repair people do not want to do business with LG because it takes months and months for them to be paid/reimbursed by LG.

I own a LG Electric Front load washer dryer. The biggest disappointment is the Dryer Drum. I have already replaced it once. And now it is cracked again, and it is $200 just for the part. The stainless steel used is almost paper thin and always cracks near the welded seam. This is a DEFECT! I am looking for a regular steel drum in my next one, (they never cracked on me) and find it hard to even look at LG products other than matching the washer better.

Purchased refrigerator in 2012, LFX31925ST. Start with pros. Purchase for the large space and front features. I have purchased many of LG products. The customer service is ok, but they dont stand by their product... From day one I had an issue with the ice maker followed by the motor make noise. Not to mention the glide server drawer stopped sliding, it seems like the cheap plastic wheel broke off. Well they came out to service motor, but said ice maker was not part the warranty! They replaced the motor, but two years later the unit stopped cooling and freezing. Guess what?? The motor stopped. I called for the same issue. They want charge for service $400. I had the product for only 5 years and already is giving out like its 20 years old. What makes it worst is they dont stand by their product. Dont be fooled by their 10-year warranty. It only covers parts, they will squeeze cost out of the service charge.

Bought 2 LG French door refrigerators in January 2017. Paid about 3 grand each. April 2019 1 of the fridges stopped cooling. Called LG. Repairman came out and said compressor not working. He returned a week later. Replaced compressor. 4 days later not cooling again. Everything melted, water on wood floors. He said motherboard not working. Waited 1 week with a broken fridge and motherboard replaced. 4 days later found water on ground again. Everything melted. Called again and said will change out compressor again. Need to wait 1 week again. 4 days later broken again which is tonight. This should be illegal. Are they going to do this for next couple of yrs until warranty is expired? In meantime we have to suffer with a broken fridge every week? Anyone with suggestions on how to approach? I wrote complaint to BBB also. Now we have to call LG tomorrow to get repairman out again. This will be 4th visit for same problem.

I purchased a DLEX3250W model LG dryer in December of 2014. I have had problems with lint screen since early on. The screen does not fit its holder and clothes will catch on the corner and twist when drying causing the clothes to wrinkle terribly. During Memorial weekend of the year (2016) when drying towels, the dryer stopped heating. When I contacted the LG technician, I was very disappointed with the fact that I could hardly understand him, and he did not seem to know anything except what he was reading. He said that it may be the electric plug and we probably needed to call an electrician. We tested the plug and it was fine. He also said something about lint buildup and that was untrue. We ended up purchasing a new Maytag dryer since we had family up for the weekend. I am very disappointed in this purchase and will not buy another LG product again.

I used to own a front load LG washer. It was great and served our needs very well for years. The only problem with it was it sprung a leak and we could not get a repair man out to fix it in our area! I decided it was time to replace this machine and bought another LG washer, this time a top load. What a mistake! This washer is a nightmare. It has wrecked our sheets. They are permanently stained a blotchy grey color. They have large bleach stains as well. This is not where it stops either. Our towels are all bleach stains, as well as socks and other items a person would use bleach for. This washer wrecked many of our belongings! I just hate it! It got moisture in the control panel a few weeks after owning it. I phoned to Lowes and they told me to call LG. LG told me to call a service company who would not come out until LG called them for fear of not being paid. I have never had any result! WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY I PERSONALLY SAVED TO PURCHASE THIS DETRIMENT TO MY HOUSEHOLD!

We purchased LG microwave oven that failed approximately 4 months into the warranty period. The warranty reads that “LG will, at it’s option, will repair or replace the Product“. LG’s policy apparently is not to do either of these things for countertop microwaves. They refused to repair or replace the unit, but suggested that we purchase another unit. They did in fact refund the original price of the unit, but now the unit could only be purchased for $30.00 more. As the request of a customer service agent we submitted the new receipt indicating that a price adjustment would be given. Long story short, not only did we have to do the leg work and go out and find another unit, we have had to absorb the difference in the price. DO NOT BELIEVE THE WARRANTY! Had we known that we couldn’t trust the warranty and the customer service agent, we would have chosen another brand of microwave. Although we have purchased other LG appliances (TVs, dishwashers etc) we will not make that mistake again!

I like how high tech the refrigerator is and the control panels are great as well. They are really stylish as well. I really like these fridges a lot. Plus a lot of my family members have them. I think the fridges are fine how they are however if we could work on the pricing a little bit that would be good. I dont like the fact that you have to pay so much for them though they could lower the pricing a little for sure. Just give us some discounts and coupons and everything would be great.

He asked for a new service date and said they would call me. New service date would be August 24! The unit was repaired with a new compressor but who knows how long this one will last. So now that I have cleaned out my fridge I am sitting on hold with LG customer service for about 15 minutes already and they still do not have any answers. This machine rarely gets my clothes clean. It does not seem to have enough water to really clean. The worst part is the mold and mildew on the rubber seal and drum that is impossible to clean. I do use the tub clean, vinegar, and bleach but still have brown slime covering my clothes and bedding. I think it has made my husband and I sick from the mold and mildew that we cannot get to and clean. We are told to leave the door open so it can dry! My daughter used a microwave-safe bowl to melt chocolate in my LMC0975 LG microwave. Two seconds after she pressed Start, the interior wall of the oven caught on fire. She immediately shut the microwave oven off and unplugged it. She is staying at my place while I am away. I told her to call LG. She was told by a rep that because the warranty has expired, she has to pay someone to come and see if the issue is the magnetron, which has a 10-year warranty, or take the oven into a repair centre. This is not possible due to Corona, and I dont think we should have to pay to have it checked. This seems like a fire hazard, and I am surprised they had no other support available and did not seem to think their product catching fire was something of great concern. I would like LG to detail how they will take care of this issue for me.

Resolved. Our LG refrigerator lights are now working correctly and shut off when the door is closed. When I first called LG about the problem, They only recommended repair facilities near me to call at my expense. They did not offer to fix the problem. When I talked to the service repairman to set up a visit, he recommended calling a different number to see if LG would take care of it since this was a common problem with many lawsuits about it before. Before I did that, here is what we did. After we figured out that the lights would not go out when the door was closed, creating the high heat inside. (55 degrees). We unplugged the fridge as one could not unscrew the light bulbs because they were extremely hot. When cool, we re-plugged in the fridge and verified that the lights would not go out when the door was closed. In just those few minutes, the bulbs were almost too hot to unscrew. We unscrewed them just enough so they would not come on. We were screwing them in and out for a couple of weeks in order to see inside, and unscrewing them before closing the door. This was a big pain in the neck. I checked several times before calling LG, that they stayed on after closing the door. With the light bulbs unscrewed, we also verified that the beep still went off when the door was left open for a while. With the light bulbs unscrewed, the fridge was now working great for the cold. Probably better than before. I put a thermostat inside to monitor the temperature and it stayed right where I had it set at on the door. I dont know why, but after a couple of weeks unscrewing and screwing the bulbs in and out, I finally decided to remove them and install new light bulbs to see if they would work. I installed the fluorescent ones, the ones with the curlicue tube, 60-watt daylight ones. They worked great, and they went out when the door was closed. WOW, what luck. The fridge has been working well now for about a week, with much better light than the original bulbs, and they go out when the door is closed. They do not get hot at all. For the other issues in the previous post, I can shut the ice maker off manually when the ice bucket is full, and we do not use the water on the door due to the high cost of the filter anyway. We can live with those issues. At least we will not have to buy a new fridge due to the light bulbs not shutting off when the door is closed. Model LRFD22850ST

We purchased an LG washer in July of 2014. I have not liked it from the start - tub is too deep, fills with very little water to wash clothes, feel clothes are not clean. The washer broke on July 30 and repairman from Sears, where we purchased washer and dryer, came the next day. He advised us that valve was broken so water was running in constantly. He told us he would have to order it from South Korea (what?). Not acceptable but he could not order it in U.S. I called Sears Parts and was told they had the part and would send to us. The part arrived on August 3, and the next day two more valves arrived from Texas. I called tech dept but was told our tech had set August 10 for repair and they could not change that!! Ive had this fridge for over 3 years and it finally stopped cooling and making ice in April. LG has sent out 3 different technicians to repair it but none of them seems to know what is wrong with it. One tech said the issue was with the compressor, they ordered the part, when the tech came to install the new compressor he said there is nothing wrong with the compressor. It is the motherboard that went out. He returned to install the new motherboard and it is still not working. There is an issue with this particular fridge based on all the reviews Ive seen online. I am writing you today regarding my LG3036-ST Gas range that I purchased from Best Buy earlier this year. Recently, while using my stove for the first time the top oven caught fire and the broiler would not shut off. This malfunction resulted in the fire department coming to my home to put out the fire and disconnect the stove. This was the second range that we had been given by LG, the first did not work upon arrival (3 of the burners did not work and the top oven would not turn on). Prior to buying my range, researched extensively for the best product for my limited funds and settled on the LG3036-ST. While I was disappointed that the first range did not work, I was horrified that the second malfunctioned and caught fire. Following the fire, we contacted Best Buy about getting a technician to look at the Range and to replace or fix it. Best Buy sent a representative who looked at the stove and decided that it did indeed malfunction and needed to be replaced. The tech even stated in his report that it was not a grease fire but was caused by a malfunction. As the range is under warranty from LG, Best Buy is requiring a return authorization number. So we began calling their customer service hotline to obtain this number. Our first contact was a call center employee who took our information and said that someone would contact us in 5 days. It was very frustrating that we had to wait 5 days to even TALK to someone who could potentially help us. Finally we spoke to someone at LG who forwarded us along to various departments and more equally unhelpful people. I think we have spoken to 6 or 7 people at this point, with each of them telling me that they couldnt issue a return authorization number but maybe the next person could. We are now heading into our third week of dealing with some of the most incompetent customer service I have ever encountered. The person we are now dealing with, Cindy ** at executive services, has stated to us that we need to obtain a fire report that shows it is a faulty valve that caused the fire. So, I took time off of work (which cost me money) and went to the fire station who then told me that in our city (Chattanooga, TN) they are not allowed to state cause of damage unless it is an arson investigation, which this is not. Their report is so broad, it simply states fire in the kitchen. After relaying this information back to **, she then told us that your technical department believes that the fire is a grease fire and not due to your products failure. They think this off of pictures taken by my wife on HER CELLPHONE. They are directly contradicting the actual repairman who has seen the oven in person based off pictures on a cellphone of the exterior of the stove. After a few days of stalling, LG agreed to return the stove yesterday June 19th only to rescind their offer today June 20th after their techs looked at the cellphone picture again. They literally took the word of a tech behind a computer in Korea over a tech who physically came to our house and diagnosed the problem. I realized in that moment that LG has no intention of helping us and are only seeking to further their corporate bottom-line. We have been more than patient as their customer service department has stalled, passed the responsibility and blatantly lied about the cause of the fire. There have been no apologies for our situation, no efforts to help and no basic human decency. To say that I am frustrated is a huge understatement. In building our home, we also purchased a few whirlpool appliances, two of which had a few small issues. Rather than give us the run-around, like your company has done, Whirlpool responded quickly and had a service person at our home within 24 hours who not only fixed the problem but went above and beyond in helping us. I was so pleased I have encouraged my friends and family to purchase Whirlpool products and I will continue doing so in the future. In direct contrast is the service LG has provided. I will never purchase an LG product again, I will also discourage everyone I know within my sphere of influence against purchasing LG products.

The dryer stopped drying and it’s just a few weeks out of the manufacture
The dryer stopped drying and it’s just a few weeks out of the manufacturer’s warranty. I called the extended warranty that I purchased and they sent a tech out. He said the heating unit needed to be replaced and ordered a new one; but in the meantime, he did something to get it heating and the dryer worked fine for the week. He came yesterday to replace the heating unit, but now he claims that the power cord is fried and I need to call an electrician. This dryer worked perfectly fine with the power cord and the outlet up until yesterday when he attempted to replace the heating unit. LG insists that they cannot give me any information because it’s out of warranty and that I must instead deal with the extended warranty company. So I guess it’s okay to take my money when I have a dryer that does not work one year later and have to pay an electrician? Does it seem reasonable that a dryer works properly and is kept in good working order and used in the manner in which it is intended and immediately after a tech attempts to install a new heating mechanism, it suddenly blows and the power cord is melted? Everyone is passing it back to me that I have to get an electrician. No, I think LG has a problem with heating mechanisms and the tech did something incorrectly.

LG WT4870C top loading washing machine has been a nightmare since we bought it. It started by ripping our clothing and then shaking violently. They came out initially and changed the drum. That took care of the ripping problem though they did not reimburse us for the clothing. It did not take care of the shaking problem which has become very violent. Please never, never buy an LG product.

I bought an LG oven 18 months ago. During this time the oven has had to be repaired 6 times. The most recent breakdown occurred 3 weeks ago. I feel reluctant to have it repaired again as I feel that there is something fundamentally wrong with this appliance. If it is repaired again now, there is no guarantee it won’t need repairing again in the near future. As the warranty is coming up, I don’t want to take this chance. I have already been greatly inconvenienced. On 6 occasions, I have had to leave work to meet with the repairer to have the oven fixed. Often I have to wait for the part. I estimate that so far I have had to take 15-18 hours from work to deal with this. Also, at the moment I am without a working oven and this has been the case for 3 weeks. The customer service at LG is very poor. I would not recommend LG appliances and I will certainly never buy them again.

Id owned my firs LG refrigerator since August and it was horrible. It was delivered broken and in the beginning, LG wanted to send technicians out to repair the refrigerator instead of just sending me a replacement. Because I had to keep escalating the situation, the replacement was determined. It took two months for the replacement to arrive. In that aspect, I was not pleased at all. I had to go back the retailer and they had to give me a loaner refrigerator. In terms of the product, I’m a big fan. I am pleased with the replacement as so far, its been working fine and hasn’t given me any problems. I like the overall layout of the refrigerator, but I find the icemaker and the water dispenser very noisy. As soon as I put a cup to it and I wanna get some ice cubes, it starts to crank up the motor and it’s loud.

Purchased refrigerator 12/13 and luckily I bought additional coverage on it because it stopped cooling in 5/15, 12/15, 9/16 and you have guessed it. 2/18 it is not working again. At this point I no longer have coverage on it but I have spent the last two days going back and forth with LG and finally after producing my original receipt they will as a courtesy schedule appt. It has been quite an ordeal when I complained of faulty refrigerator. They had the nerve to say there are no complaints on it... There really should be somewhere to file official complaints and not be stuck getting transferred back and forth and getting different answers from different people. DO NOT PURCHASE LG FRENCH DOOR REFRIGERATOR.

My husband and I bought a top loading digital, true balance washing machine about a year ago. Since our first wash load, it has been nothing but trouble. The thing constantly goes off balance and it honestly sometimes takes a WHOLE DAY to wash 1 load! Also, our water bill has tripled since we bought the machine, because every time it goes off balance it tries to balance itself by adding more water! We will never buy an LG product again! BEWARE!

I bought a LG French door refrigerator (Model: LFX28978ST/00) on 8/27/10 from Home Depot. It retailed for $2399. LG only gives a 1 years parts and labor on most of the unit. I purchased an extended warranty from Home Depot. In less than 2 years, the icemaker in the door when out. The extended warranty replaced, no charge. I have now had the unit 7 years and 4 months and the cooling system is going bad. Only the compressor is under warranty (10 year). To fix, Im looking at over $1000 and $700 of that is just labor. This was my first LG product and it WILL BE MY LAST. Never again!

When I purchased my LG Washer I was so excited! I researched washers and chose this particular company because I read reviews that discussed the quality & quantity capabilities of this particular brand. I spent more than I had planned on this purchase because I wanted a quality washer. I loved this washer, it was the one thing in the house that I told my family I truly enjoyed using. I recommended it to my friends who were looking to purchase a new washer... It was the best appliance I had EVER owned...THEN IT HAPPENED! The intake valve on the washer messed up and needed repair. That was okay, everything has to have maintenance. So I called MULTIPLE appliance repair shops (11 to be exact), and was told time after time, Maam we dont work on LG appliances, it is impossible to get parts for them. So I called Lowes (where I had purchased the appliance), they no longer take care of parts but instead give you the number of the place to order parts for the products they sale. My husband called the number, ordered the part (which he paid for so it could be shipped to our door)... He was told the part would arrive in 7-10 days. We watch a video on how to install the part and wait for it to arrive... That was in OCTOBER!!! Todays date is December 27!!!After two weeks we called and was told it was on back order but should arrive in another two weeks. Second call was told it was still on back order may be two more weeks. Today when we called we were told the part can be found NOWHERE IN THE USA. He said they were trying to get one from Korea, and would try to let us know something in the next 24 hours about how many more weeks it would be... Listen, I am generally a calm patient person, I grew up in a house with 14 people, I understand waiting your turn. However, I also own a company and I know that your product is only as good as your customer service & support! It doesnt matter how great the product is... If you cannot repair it when it is broken... IT IS JUNK!I will NEVER buy a LG Product again... NEVER! I am trying to save someone else from the same heartache of walking past a brilliant, expensive product on your way out the door to the laundry mat. If you are part of the LG team please learn from this review... You have a great product, but unless you improve your customer service, and parts availability... You will not last long. I will most likely have to purchase another washer, and move forward from this mess. IT WILL NOT BE AN LG APPLIANCE.

Update : To their credit LG responded by sending out service technicians twice to resolve the problem, both gentlemen were very professional, timely and worked to resolve the issue. On the first visit the circulating fan motor was changed - but this unfortunately did not resolve the issue. On the second visit while disconnecting and reconnecting the wiring at the back of the oven, the problem was resolved (no parts changed). The oven works fine now and the issue is resolved.I would have given this an even higher star rating - except during the repair process it was confirmed that there really are no control board parts available for this particular oven (only newer models of it) - so if the controller board ever goes wrong I will be out of luck.

Purchased a matching LG washer and dryer (Front load washer model WM3670HVA) including pedestal bases for both from JCPenney in July of 2017. All was well until; Dec. 7 when we heard a loud banging noise coming from our laundry room. The washing machine drum was hitting the back and front of the washer so violently that I thought it would break the door. I immediately shut down the washer and rebalance the load. The same thing happened when I restarted the washer. Every time the machine went into the spin cycle the drum would hit the front and back of the machine with such force that we thought it would crack the door. The load in question was towels and wash cloths. After we removed the towels we tried it with a lighter load, tee shirts and underwear, same thing happened again on the spin cycle.I called LG and reported the problem that day. They stated they would have their service vendor call me. Never received a call. Four days later I call again and get the same answer. Still no call. Called JCPenney to report the problem and they tried calling LG with no luck. The appliance manager told me that LG service actually hung up on her. Today is 12/18 and I placed my third or fourth phone call to LG. Guess what, I get the same answer stay by the phone someone will call. I ask to speak to a supervisor and she repeats what each of the service reps said, Youll get a call from the center tomorrow. Twelve days and I have a broken down washing machine and still no call from LG warranty service. Never again will I buy an LG product if this is the way they handle their warranties. What are my options???Updated on 03/17/2018: Today is March 17, 2018 and LG warranty service still has not repaired the washer described below. My advice to any consumer thinking of buying a LG appliance is DONT. If you dont believe this review simply read all the other reviews that have been submitted and you will be educated to the fact that when needed, LG Service and their warranties may not be there for you. In my opinion they are the worse of the worst. I am 76 years old and the process of seeking warranty support from LG has been one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. Yesterday I spoke to LG for about the 15th time and they outright lied to me again saying they finally had a repair service to look at the washer. I immediately call the repair service and they tell me that they did not accept the work order and LG does this to them all the time. Shame on LG when they wont help consumers get what they are entitled to. Tells you something about their product and their Corporate attitudes. Ill keep fighting with LG but future consumers should heed the warning BUYER BEWARE.

In August 2011, I bought an LG top load washer (WT5001CW) at Sears as well as a dryer for a total price of $1,850. Less than one year later, the lid on the washer locked. When the technician opened up the top panel, I noticed that the metal was scorched - like in fire. The entire board had to be replaced. Ive also noticed a foul smell ever since Ive had the washer. Recently, I was notified of a recall due to some balancing problem. I was also sent a sticker advising me not to wash or spin any item known to be waterproof or water resistant, even if the label on the item permits machine washing. I was under the impression this warning would only be in effect until the recall problem was taken care of. Oh no, the technician who came out made sure he told me never to wash things like bathmats or mattress covers that may have rubber/vinyl backing. I asked what am I to do since bathmats for one thing need frequent washing. He told me, Lady, go to the laundromat. Im 75 years old on a fixed income and the money I paid for these appliances was hard to come by. Ive had many different washing machines in my lifetime, but never encountered anything like this. I wish the LG CEOs office was nearby so I could dump this piece of crap in front of his desk. Life is not so good right now.

Our fridge broke after 5 months. We had the repairman at our house 4 times over 6 weeks and fridge still was not fixed. Called LG customer service many times and explained that our fridge has not worked for 6 weeks and we have 2 toddlers and no one was able to help me. Many different customer service reps told me they would put it my request for a new fridge but it would be denied and they were unable to help me. After asking for a manager, I was put on hold for 45 min and then disconnected, this happened 3 times and no one called me back. We were also promised the max amount for food spoilage and after finally agreeing to give us money back for our fridge, LG told us we no longer qualified for the food reimbursement so we lost hundreds of dollars worth of food (over the course of fridge braking 4 times). This was the worst customer service I ever experienced in my life and for that reason, we will never buy an LG appliance again!

We bought ALL LG appliances 3 yrs. ago, including their French door-in-door refrigerator. We’ve been without that fridge for THREE WEEKS now!! LG’s customer svc. is shameful. They think 3 wks isn’t unreasonable to live without a fridge. It took 2 wks & dozens of phone calls, hanging on hold for over 10 mins. to even get an LG certified tech assigned to our case. Took another week for THEIR certified tech to receive the new compressor from LG parts. (LG refuses to expedite shipping even when we offered to pay for it). He came, installed the new one & it’s STILL doesn’t work!!!!Admittedly, we were enamored by their products. We drank the “Life’s Good” Koolaid. The only element that differentiates one manufacturer, from another is their customer service when things go wrong. It’s easy to spew “Life’s good” mantra when people are spending millions on your products. It’s what a company does to help its brand loyal customers WHEN THINGS GO WRONG - that is the true measure of their worth. I was an LG brand loyal consumer. I’m over that now & hope to warn others so this nightmare doesn’t happen to them. My neighbor had a similar compressor problem with their Samsung fridge. They received a full refund for what they paid for it, in TWO DAYS!One of my husband’s cancer meds requires refrigeration. Even knowing that, LG customer service reps give the same rehearsed canned response; “we’re sorry for your inconvenience”. 1) They’re NOT “sorry” & 2) Being without a fridge for the whole month of August is considered well beyond “inconvenience”!!! They’re doing NOTHING except continuing to try to get it repaired at a snail’s pace. There’s NO possibility of getting anything done quick with them. I offered to give them MY FedEx acct. # to overnight another compressor. No, they can’t even do that. If I could afford to put this piece of garbage on the curb for trash pick-up, I would. But we bought all new appliances knowing we were going to be retiring & these were supposed to last us as we prepared to live on our fixed incomes. I would go buy a similar fridge by another brand manufacturer if I could, but we’re not drawing the salaries we once did. LG expects us to wait ANOTHER 3 wks or longer to see if their tech can replace the compressor, again. When asked if they could overnight it - no, that’s not their policy. They are a disgrace!!!

We purchased an LG front load washer (LG WM2688HNM) and dryer in June 2007
We purchased an LG front load washer (LG WM2688HNM) and dryer in June 2007 from Best Buy. We had constant problems with the washer leaking. We had technicians out almost monthly to try and find the source of the leak without any success. After about five months of complaining to LG’s customer service, they did have Best Buy give us a replacement in June of 2008. Unfortunately, the new machine did the same thing, but not quite as often and more like every two or three months. Again, the technicians cannot find where the leak is occurring from. It does not seem to make any difference how much detergent or bleach one uses. About two years ago the machine started dancing across the floor and vibrating items off the shelves in the laundry room. The technician put pads under the washer that are supposed to keep it in place and reduce the vibrations, but to no avail. It just keeps moving from one side of the laundry room to the other side, so we have to put it back in place until the next load.Oh, by the way, the dryer does not work much better than the washer. It goes through the dry cycle (and it doesn’t seem to matter which one) and the clothes are still damp if not wet. It doesn’t seem to matter if one uses the wrinkle guard or not. One technician suggested that with LG, one needed to use normal if you were doing permanent press, clothes, etc., but they still don’t get fully dried. Based on our experience, I would have to say do not buy LG products. As it stands at this point, I don’t think I would take an LG product if they were to give it to me.

Bought LG appliances for our new home a year ago; love the refrigerator & stove, but hate the dishwasher! I too, wish I had researched this website before purchasing. The dishwasher does get bad odors occasionally, & my husband checked the filter in it, but it was clean. I put a cup of vinegar in a wash cycle of dishes & it went away. The reason there was no food in the filter is because we thoroughly rinse, almost wash, the dishes before we run it 1-2 times a week! Very disappointed in the cleansing of the dishes! If a knife had mayo on it when put into the dishwasher, even a small amount, its still on there when it comes out! Doesnt clean coffee stains out of cups, either. I would never buy another LG Dishwasher or recommend it! It is very quiet, but I would trade the noise, for clean dishes! No other problems so far!

This is regarding open ticket which has been going on since December. Dryer is still under warranty, it was purchased in August. It does not dry correctly, get flow sense and D80 error message. Per LG request, we serviced our exhaust system and checked all the ventilation and house flaps, duck ductwork etc. Twice. Proof can be provided. All is fine on the house side. Error messages happens even with dryer is not connected to the house, which rules out the house. Its a new construction as well. Triangle Appliances has been working on the dryer since then and replaced everything LG has asked them to. Still not working. As of yesterday, Triangle Appliances deemed it unrepairable per their expertise and written proof of that will be provided. LG refuses to replace it and says there is nothing else they can/want to do regarding repairs. LG is under warranty obligation and refusing service. Please forward this to the right department, for resolution or we will be taking legal action. Also, let me add that the only LG technician available in the area (Durham, NC) was incompetent, not professional, rude to my wife and showed up without parts (he did check they were on back order) and blamed us for it. This is why we ended up working with Triangle Appliances, LG approved, and they have been great.

We purchased a $3000 LG refrigerator in August of 2015, Model LFXS30726S, and it is a horrible design. It fails completely every 16 weeks. The fridge seems really nice, but 4 months later, it failed on Christmas Day. Frost builds up around the fan and doesnt properly defrost, causing it to fail. LG serviced the unit for the first 2 Failures, and now it has failed again. 3 times in 14 months. Lucky for LG, their warranty is for 1 year, and now they will not service or repair the defective unit. This design was flawed from day 1! It just takes 4 months for the fan to wear out. And each time we have to borrow a spare fridge, move all of our food, and wait for service. They even had a service bulletin regarding this issue, and so they replaced the back inside panel which was supposed to fix the problem. Guess what... it did not help at all. DO NOT BUY LG Refrigerators! THEY EITHER DONT KNOW HOW TO DESIGN PROPERLY, OR THEY DONT TEST THEM. I am filing a complaint with the Dept of Trade and Consumer Protection, under the grounds that the fridge did not live up to its intended purpose: Keeping food cold.

Where to start... Loading this is awkward. Nothing fits easily without having to adjust the racks. The silverware holder is flimsy and falls apart every time you pull it out. I had to zip ties ours together. It takes more than 2 hours to run a Normal wash. And unless you washed everything before loading, the chances of the load being 100 percent clean is slim to none. You have a better chance of George Clooney and Brad Pitt washing and drying your dishes by hand than you do of getting a clean load out of this machine! You have to use liquid soap. Pods wont dissolve in this machine. Theres a filter. A pain-in-the-butt filter, with a Rubber washer that is to be emptied and cleaned every few days. Plus the spray arms clog.Often... THIS MACHINE REQUIRES MORE MAINTENANCE THAN A BEVERLY HILLS HOUSEWIFE!!! And like a RHOBH, it does NOT work! This is a perfect machine for a Newlywed couple who is despised by a frenemy or scorned mother in law. This machine will drive a newlywed insane. Night after night of unclean dishes. This is the kind of machine that will give a new wife an eating disorder... If you buy this machine, your spouse will not only question your thought process about this purchase, but he will question you. And why he ever dumped Susan for you. He will question all of his life choices with you after a few weeks with this purchase. This machine is that bad. Im serious. I would not buy this machine for Eva Braun as a wedding present. I wouldnt wish it on her. Dont. Just dont.

Bought a new white side by side LG refrigerator about 1 1/2 years ago from a local big box retailer. The plastic trim pieces around the electronic controls/water dispenser/ice dispenser have turned yellow. The refrigerator is bright white and the large bezel and drain plate is now a disgusting yellow. I first tried to resolve the matter with an online chat representative who was absolutely clueless. She couldnt even figure out what parts they were on her schematic. She finally gave up and had me complete an online upload form with pictures that I had to take. She said she would call me back after I uploaded the form. I uploaded the form with pictures and after two days no response. So I did another online chat with another agent. I gave her my case number and all she said is Sorry its out of warranty. She gave me the phone number of their parts distributor for the Eastern USA and the girl who answered the phone instantly put me on hold and never came back. This is ridiculous! The trim pieces are about $180.00. So, dont ever buy a white LG refrigerator and if you would like customer assistance on their product - Dont buy an LG Refrigerator.

He submitted it to deem the fridge unable to be fixed and needing replacement.Apparently, the entire process can take up to two weeks... so I am to go without a fridge for that long. I purchased a mini fridge, but I’m sure LG will not be reimbursing me for that either. As well, LG ONLY reimburses you what they deem the refrigerator is now worth, since it is 3 years old. Yet, I have seen statements by LG in warranties and online that are misleading about this “replacement”.Lastly, I have a dead, large refrigerator sitting here and no information on LG picking this up. Even if I wanted to go buy a replacement prior to LG getting through their long approval process AFTER the tech explained it all, I can’t!!! I am single and have no way to remove it. LG - You owe me the money that I spent on this refrigerator just 3 years ago, plus the cost of the mini fridge I had to buy. And you need to remove this worthless fridge this week! I have never had so many issues with a refrigerator (even 10yrs old), much less all of the trouble I’m having to go through for this lemon product I was sold!Original review: It seems my refrigerator will fall under the same bucket of consumers that have started the class action lawsuit! I bought the LG Side by Side Refrigerator in Stainless Steel in May of 2016. It has suddenly just stopped cooling. Opened my freezer to find melted food all over and had to throw out hundreds of dollars of food from the freezer and fridge!Contacted LG on Saturday and they said I only have warranty to replace for 1 yr. Some parts are warrantied for 5 yrs and some 13, though. The rep was scripted and seemed annoyed if I asked any questions about best temperature, etc. So, not a great experience with their customer support after their appliance fails after only 3 yrs! She did give me a “courtesy” one-time free service call. But, who knows how much it will cost in the end, nor how long parts will take.I’m fairly certain the compressor went bad, due to the symptoms and fact that coils are cleaned. The model I bought had the linear compressor - which I was sold on by Home Depot as being great per warranty and reliability. Upon now reading the class action suit that’s ongoing... the issue is these linear compressors failing at 3 yrs on average!I will never buy an LG appliance again! I bought their washer and dryer and the dryer stopped working in 1 yr and 1 month after purchase. That also required repair and I was without a dryer for over a week. I’m single and facing upcoming lay-offs at my job. In all my 44 yrs, I have never had any issues like this with a refrigerator, or dryer (even at 10+ years!). I have already lost money from all my food going bad and expensive medication for my pet has also gone bad! LG can’t get anyone out here until Tuesday. They need to do the right thing for customers that experience this with faulty parts, or appliances... without a lawsuit, or hassle!

Almost the perfect range, it has everything you need or want. Unfortunately
Almost the perfect range, it has everything you need or want. Unfortunately, it has a very dangerous design flaw. When anyone bumps against a burner knob, a burner turns on (normally on high). We recently had a situation where a glass baking dish was taken out of the oven and placed on the stove top. Someone accidentally bumped a knob, turning on the burner to high, where the glass dish was at. When my wife noticed the burner was on, she turned it off and tried moving the glass baking dish off of the burner, when the dish suddenly exploded. I contacted LG. I was told to buy the child safety cover for $30.00. This is a VERY expensive appliance. We shouldnt have buy something to make it safe when it should be safe to use in the first place. Think very carefully before purchasing this appliance.

We are extremely dissatisfied with LGs customer service and lack of commitm
We are extremely dissatisfied with LGs customer service and lack of commitment to honoring its product warranty. We gave the experience a one star rating as it was the lowest option in order to continue this review, but we would assign a negative rating if that was an option. We bought an entire suite of LG kitchen appliances in 2013. The fridge stopped cooling at the beginning of May, 2019. Since that time, we have paid for service calls by two different repair companies and have made numerous phone calls to LG in an attempt to resolve this problem. LG has agreed that the parts are covered under warranty, but they no longer carry one of the parts (an evaporator). One of their representatives advised us that we could have them try and obtain the part from a third party or file an appeal for a defective unit. After determining that the part through the third party was on backorder and would take at least three weeks to obtain, with no guarantee as to an exact delivery date, we elected to file the appeal. At that point, we had been without a refrigerator for over a month, Several more weeks have gone by. Despite assurances from LG that we would be contacted, we had to call them multiple times for a status update and had to submit the appeal more than once. When we called a few days ago to once again to determine the status of our appeal, we were advised that it had been rejected the week prior (again, nobody from LG contacted us). They claim the appeal was rejected because the part is available through the third party (even though is is on backorder for at least another three weeks). We are fed up with this whole process! We never expected to have to replace a refrigerator that is just 6 1/2 years old - our prior refrigerators each lasted over 20 years. We were hoping that since LG no longer carries the parts necessary to honor their warranty, they would honor a defective unit appeal with at least some type of discounted price on a replacement refrigerator. In researching this issue on the internet, we have seen numerous complaints about LG refrigerators with faulty compressors and poor customer service from LG in attempting to get the problem resolved. Think twice before purchasing a product from LG... We will certainly never buy anything else manufactured by this company.

My 32CFT refrigerator’s compressor failed 3 times in last 3 years. Still within Warranty. This time it stopped cooling on Aug 6th, notified on 7th, they sent an Authorized tech from Goodman Services: they sent 3 technicians so far, but the problem never solved. First Tech, came in with ill health, couldn’t finish the job and left in the middle. Second one came two times and spent almost 4 hours, told he fixed everything and asked to wait 24 hrs to get full cooling, but never happened. Their customer services never cares about customers, after all they are the only authorized tech for LG.Got to speak to almost 7 to 8 LG reps, spent almost 15-20 hrs on phone, every time diff. answers, even after 1 month 1 week, the problem never solved. They scheduled one more service call to same Goodman service company again for an urgent service request almost 4 days ago, but no response from them yet. Can you imagine how can one survive without a Ref during this Covid situations, in hot summer in Texas for more than a month with two small kids. Spent almost $2k, still in Warranty, bought extended Warranty, which of no use when needed. It has been terrible. Hope LG may take an appropriate action to resolve my problem ASAP...

I bought a new LG kitchen appliance set Stove/fridge in 2015, which cost a little over $5000, the fridge was in my house 45 mins from the store, I hired a plumber to install and connect a new water line for the fridge, after it was connected and plugged in, the water disperser would not work, I phoned LG right away, LG service personnel asked me how old the fridge was, I told her... 45mins, she was shocked and embarrassed, and 4 days later they sent a appliance technician to fix it.We have had nothing but problems with this fridge, the ice maker works off and on when it feels like it, the door jam between the french doors broke... Cheap plastic. The 2 oven stove burnt one burner coil out not long after the warranty was over, I contacted LG, they said for a one time fee I could have it repaired, and so on, my reply was... Ill never buy your product again. The glass stove top is very dangerous, hot pots and pans slide around very easy, dangerous around young children. I wished I would have kept my old GE set, old and ugly but still worked.

I really like my LG washing machine and dryer. It doesnt look as upgraded as some of Samsungs new dryers but it gets the job done. But I would have preferred more color choices without having to spend an additional couple hundred dollars. I love that there is not an agitator and it has an extra large capacity. I can easily fit my king size comforters in the basin. I love the turbo speed function that allows you to wash your clothes at a reduced time. You also save a lot of water because it only puts in enough water to cover the clothes. The machine does a survey for the weight and size of the load to determine the amount of water to use. I normally only need the smallest amount of detergent in most loads, so you save money there too. There are plenty of cycles types to select from and some you can customize. My dryer has an awesome steam feature! This really reduces wrinkles in dress clothing! I also love the sensing feature on the dryer. I rarely have to add more time or dry a second time. It also has a large capacity. The signal indicating both the washer and dryer could be louder. There is also an app with the units that you can get laundry tips. I would have preferred to be able to start and stop functions and/or time left on loads with the app. You can also use your cell phone to diagnose errors on the units. You hold the phone to the unit and it sends codes to help with troubleshooting. The washing machine could be more quiet. I can definitely hear the wash if Im in rooms next door. During some heavy rinse cycles I can hear and feel it shaking since the unit is on my second floor. All in all I really like the set.
