I had an Electrolux washer for over 2 years & it was giving me problems like extreme vibration which makes the washer move. So I got an LG front load washer after reading the reviews. The washing was quiet soft. When it starts spinning dry, the motor roars like a 2-stroke motorcycle engine: really disappointed with our buy as we wanted to wash our clothes when we are sleeping. What a crap machine! Not recommended. Would rather get an Electrolux back. Korean SUCKS!

Bought an LG refrigerator in 11/2017 with the linear inverter compressor. It quit working in 6/2021. Even though the compressor is covered with a 10 year warranty, I fear that it will be replaced with another faulty defective compressor. We have an LG technician coming soon and I will provide an update on the repair status. I give the refrigerator one star because a failed compressor in just 3.5 years is a bad sign coupled with a class action lawsuit against LG for producing a defective refrigerator.

Updated on 02/14/2021: I posted a review on 12/19/20, at which time my microwave had been dead for two months. LG responded by asking me to send details by private message. I did that on 12/20/20. They did not reply, respond, or take any action. LGs second repair attempt (on this, the third time the unit has failed) broke what few remaining features (fan, light, clock) still worked. Costco has been trying for the last two weeks to get LG to replace the unit. They are getting what I got: no response, untruths, failure to call back when they promised. LG customer service is non-existent. This Friday will be three months since it broke. They do not contend that I am at fault in any way. They just wont do anything.Original Review: We bought a microwave from Costco as part of a $4000 kitchen appliance package. It has died three times in the year and a half since purchase. This third time (November 19), the part needed to repair it no longer exists. Despite that, Im getting a complete runaround from LG customer service, repeatedly being promised call-backs that never happen, 20+ minute hold times, and hours wasted on the phone. At this point, I am promised a call by December 28. Ill believe it when it happens.

I bought an LG Range model LRE3981ST from Home Depot in February 2011. On July 2011, I noticed rust spots on the front door of the range; I called service and booked a tech to come out. After waiting for an hour (and now late for work), the technician called me and said he did not have approval for the service call, and it will be a $75 charge. I was also asked why I didn’t read the service contract, so I told him not to bother to come out. I called the customer service and pulled it out of them that there is a service call fee of $75.00. I called Home Depot and explained the situation. They said they will give me the $75.00 fee back on my credit card, and to go ahead in booking an appointment. I tried today (August 10) to make an appointment. LG said to call back on August 15 since they will not show any available appointments until that date. I was also told that rust spots are not covered. Why did I pay for an extended warranty? I will now never buy another LG product again.

This washer and dryer is a real piece of junk, which I paid $2,400 for. I have a real mold problem. The washer has now developed a main bearing problem. The tub and motor have a 7 year warranty, but the bearing that holds it all together is only covered for only1 year. They will not fix it, and they are asking for $500, to replace the bearing. I was told it would be covered by the warranty, until the repairman came to my home, then informed me it is not covered. LG will not respond to my problem. We need a class action suit. LG Dryer DLEX5170V - We purchased a new washer and dryer from HHGregg in February 2014 with a 5 year extended warranty. To date, we have no problems with our washing machine but the dryer has stopped heating on three different occasions. Today, I called My Protection Plan360 to request another service call for my dryer as it no longer heats and was told that I would instead be contacted within 3-5 days with a refund to purchase a new dryer. There goes our matching LG washer and dryer series!

Hundreds of thousands of these machines were recalled for going out of balance however mine was not the correct serial number even though it had the same problem. LG was useless at helping and none of the local service repair people would even touch an LG appliance unless they sold it themselves and even then they preferred not to work on them. I had to throw the washer away even though it was less than two years old (it started going uneven after 14 months so my one year warranty was no good). Never buy an LG anything.

We bought ALL LG appliances 3 yrs. ago, including their French door-in-door
We bought ALL LG appliances 3 yrs. ago, including their French door-in-door refrigerator. We’ve been without that fridge for THREE WEEKS now!! LG’s customer svc. is shameful. They think 3 wks isn’t unreasonable to live without a fridge. It took 2 wks & dozens of phone calls, hanging on hold for over 10 mins. to even get an LG certified tech assigned to our case. Took another week for THEIR certified tech to receive the new compressor from LG parts. (LG refuses to expedite shipping even when we offered to pay for it). He came, installed the new one & it’s STILL doesn’t work!!!!Admittedly, we were enamored by their products. We drank the “Life’s Good” Koolaid. The only element that differentiates one manufacturer, from another is their customer service when things go wrong. It’s easy to spew “Life’s good” mantra when people are spending millions on your products. It’s what a company does to help its brand loyal customers WHEN THINGS GO WRONG - that is the true measure of their worth. I was an LG brand loyal consumer. I’m over that now & hope to warn others so this nightmare doesn’t happen to them. My neighbor had a similar compressor problem with their Samsung fridge. They received a full refund for what they paid for it, in TWO DAYS!One of my husband’s cancer meds requires refrigeration. Even knowing that, LG customer service reps give the same rehearsed canned response; “we’re sorry for your inconvenience”. 1) They’re NOT “sorry” & 2) Being without a fridge for the whole month of August is considered well beyond “inconvenience”!!! They’re doing NOTHING except continuing to try to get it repaired at a snail’s pace. There’s NO possibility of getting anything done quick with them. I offered to give them MY FedEx acct. # to overnight another compressor. No, they can’t even do that. If I could afford to put this piece of garbage on the curb for trash pick-up, I would. But we bought all new appliances knowing we were going to be retiring & these were supposed to last us as we prepared to live on our fixed incomes. I would go buy a similar fridge by another brand manufacturer if I could, but we’re not drawing the salaries we once did. LG expects us to wait ANOTHER 3 wks or longer to see if their tech can replace the compressor, again. When asked if they could overnight it - no, that’s not their policy. They are a disgrace!!!

Just using the refrigerator. Normally the defrost does not work. The repairman told me to unplug the refrigerator to let it defrost for 24 hours. Of course that means all of the food is spoiled. Home Depot has informed Im stuck with this piece of junk. After 24 hours I am suppose to plug it back in and hope it runs and cools properly. If it does not the repairman will order a fan which will take a week to get. In the meantime I and a bunch of spoiled food and no refrigerator. Do not buy an LG! LFXS30726S.

Purchased several major appliances at once from Best Buy. All LG products. The microwave did not work right out the box!!! LG refused to replace it but would send a repair person out. Took a week to get an appointment. Had to take a half a day off to be home during their appointment window. Repair guy didnt show up until 10:00 pm at my house. Replaced a part and left. Next day microwave still broke! Keep in mind it hasnt worked out of the box.I called LG and once again asked them to replace it and they refused and offered to send the same useless repair service out again. If I took off another half day. I now would have lost more money than the microwave cost! Keep in mind it has never worked!!! I filed a complaint with the BBB and they answered basically that I was not getting the unit replaced. I also filed a complaint with the State attorney generals office which I have not heard back from yet. I have an LG all-in-one washer/dryer at my wifes salon for washing towels -
I have an LG all-in-one washer/dryer at my wifes salon for washing towels - it has broken down twice now in a year. I bought an extended commercial warranty for it as the regular LG warranty does not cover usage in a salon. First, both drain pumps broke down - covered by the warranty so we were just inconvenienced by having to go to the local Laundromat for a couple of weeks (dont want to wash the towels at home as you never know what kind of foot fungus the customers might have). Next, one drain pump broke down and the repair guy said the drain hose underneath the machine had cracked and was leaking. My bet is that he broke the hose as it is underneath the machine and there is no way otherwise it could have been broken. The pump replacement was covered but not the hose, so we wound up spending $250 for parts and labor plus the inconvenience of having to use the local Laundromat for another 2 weeks.Last summer, my LG TROMM steam washer (which has always had the moldy, stinky rubber gasket problem requiring frequent cleaning) started giving the LE error signal which according to the book means the motor is overheating. Its 5 yrs old now and out of warranty of course. I unplugged the machine and let it sit for 30 minutes and it started working again. Same problem 2 months later, same fix. Ditto for the next 8 months. This morning again, the LE error symbol and no matter how long I let it sit, no workee. No more LG products for me! While LG is better than the typical made-in-China junk flooding our stores, it is not that much better to justify the high price.

Well, Im thoroughly disappointed with my Tromm washer and dryer. The latest failure was the last straw. I have now officially paid more for repairs than I paid for the appliances, and they have been banished to the garage, and hopefully Ill find a buyer, but the word must be out about LG, because Ive had no takers. The washer never has cleaned well, and took forever to do that. The technician said to get a top-load domestic brand, so I went to Lowes and purchased the largest top loader with a spindle that GE makes.Im through with LG, and the repairman said Samsung is no better. So, I guess you could say Im through with Korean products. Thank you very much Korea. Isnt it hysterical that the pendulum has finally swung back towards American products being more reliable and well-built? The way it used to be when I was growing up. Heres the really ironic part. When I bought the Tromm, I sold a Kenmore Series 80 pair to a friend for $100.00. She is still using them and has never had to have a repair. I want them back! I guess the joke is on me, but you know what they say: Fool me once...

My LG has been very reliable for 9 years. I love having the freezer at the bottom with the double refrigerator doors at the top. The ONLY design feature I don’t like at all is the temp controlled drawer that goes across the full width of the refrigerator. In order to use that drawer you have to open both doors. Purchase a set of LG washer (WT4870CW) and dryer from Best Buy that was last year’s model on 04/12/2014. Upon the washing machine acting up and not draining after about 10 or 11 months, we called LG support to get it corrected, was when we were informed it was almost two years old. Even when we had it less than a year. The washing machine had OE and UE errors popping up interrupting the spin cycle continuously, requiring resetting and restarting in the spin cycle. The first tech diagnosed it needed a stator, ordered that to our house and installed it, problem continued. LG schedule second tech service company, who diagnosed, after reading bulletin stator replacement no longer done, but circuitry parts. Ordered two, parts came to house and third person came in only installed one circuit, stating I needed two separate circuits for washer and dryer. Problem continued. LG was notified and I was informed the previous appliance service technicians came from an appliance service company that they can no longer recommend. Plus since this problem has extended past the original warranty I needed to get an extension, which was done at no cost, to cover the next service person. A third appliance company, who came today and diagnosed Pipe in house will not let unit drain, gets pressure build up and no drain. Customer needs plumber. Nothing wrong with unit.” I immediately returned home and showed the tech the fault of his diagnosis by detaching the drain from the drain pipe in the house and connecting the cold water feed to the drain pipe and had it run for several minutes. THEN he said, I dont know what to tell you. Then he said my pipe was too high, so I pulled out the manual nearby and NOPE the pipe length was well within the distance in the manual. Wrong again. The machine works he said, when you dont connect it to the drain pipe, so it’s a drain problem he said. Nothing wrong with the machine when you disconnect it and let it run in a garbage barrel, he said. What are you talking about, the machine worked for like 10 or 11 months and now this problem wont go away and you are saying that the problem is not with the machine? “Oh it tries to send the water up but it can only send so much, then it figures it cant then it shuts down.” “Oh,” I said, “then it’s a sensor problem, or a computer problem.” “No there is nothing wrong with the machine, when you disconnect the pipe into a garbage barrel.” How does this continue on? “Oh, Ill have my boss give you a call, because I cant fix a problem that isnt there.” There were also suggestions to re-route my drain pipe through the basement window opening, creating a new larger pipe, but his suggestions simply met deaf ears by that time. So after he leave and here I am at the Consumer Affairs site reading all the numerous complaints and I find one service tech diagnosed a pressure switch as the problem, which under warranty I would welcome before I send this unit to the scrap heap.

I liked all the extra features the refrigerator offered. My lg had an automatic ice dispenser that gave crushed ice or cubed ice and also gave water. I liked that I could choose between crushed ice and ice cubes. I like to be able to get crushed ice for my drinks. When I drink soda and water I like crushed ice. When I make mixed drinks and daiquiris its easier to not have to crush the ice myself for so long. The temperature was not always the easiest to control though. Sometimes the refrigerator got too cold and my vegetables got frost on them. When I turn it down too low the vegetables all spoiled too quickly.

I am quite disappointed that my french door fridge stopped working with having it less than 4 years. The repairman knew exactly what the problem was when he saw the make/model. After slightly less than 3 years my French Door Refrigerator suddenly could not get cold enough to safely refrigerate the food and safely keep foods frozen. The temperature in the refrigerator box hovered at about 40 and the freezer at around 32. The temperatures would not change even though I increased the coldness setting. A repairman from a reputable repair company and after testing and checking all of the different components he said the compressor was failing. The repair cost is more than it is worth. I am just going to buy a new brand. I also tried to contact LGs technicians to confirm the problem. They wanted $30 to discuss this with me since it was out of warranty.

Our LG front loading washer and dryer are seven years old. We purchased a four year service plan with each, which got us through the first four years. The washer is on its third drum, although replacement drum number two was discovered to be damaged during installation. A lot of other parts have also been replaced, Ive lost track. The water pump went out and needed replacement, which was probably good because it was discovered the drum was again loose. Now the unit died, nothing works, third control panel installed, still dead. The dryer is another story with a consistent knocking. When asked, the warranty serviceman suggested buying an older washing machine in good condition off Craigslist or at garage sales. Id happily pay more for a dependable product, in the end it would be more economical. I thought LG might be such a product but as it turns out its just run of the mill with great advertising.

I bought an LG Fridge Model LSC 24971ST in October 2012. It stopped working June 2017. I made many phone calls to Customer Care (or No Care) Centre on Telephone 1-888-542-2623 continuously for five weeks but nothing was done. Finally LG got back to me and told me whatever the problem is, they will have it fixed for a flat rate of $229. I paid them $229, hoping that the problem will be solved now. Few days later an LG worker came to check the fridge, only to tell me that the fridge cannot be fixed. I would have to buy another $4000 fridge from LG. It was hard for me to believe this fridge cannot be fixed, so I called somebody else to have the fridge checked, which is when I found out that the compressor has stopped working and just needs to be replaced.LG was trying to CHEAT me and make me buy another fridge from them. They wouldnt even return the $229 flat rate that I paid them to have the fridge fixed. After arguing with them for weeks, they finally agreed that they will have the compressor replaced at the FLAT RATE of $229 but the part is NOT available for the time being. If such a BIG company like LG fails to find its own part, why I must suffer...? Weeks passed and they could not even find their own part. Bottom line is, LG COMPANY TRIES TO CHEAT YOU. The fridge could easily be fixed by replacing the compressor (which was still under warranty), but LG wanted to CHEAT me into just buying another $4000 fridge from them. They gave me a very hard to time; for months I kept arguing with them. Never buying an LG product ever again!

Purchased thru JC Penney Sept 2017 and bought extended warranty. Freezer began accumulating snowy frost and gaskets molding around French doors. Contacted LG and service thru A&E quickly arranged. Took 3 visits due to wrong parts shipped but I was pleased and wrote positive review. Then after a couple of days, same snow reappeared and freezer drawer stuck. A&E came again after hours (did not go thru LG--I had his cell and called) and heated drawer to unstick. By 11 pm same day, drawer stuck again. Called LG, scheduled another call. This time man said middle hinge piece between doors needed replacing so ordered, waited, another call to install. Same problem recurred. Called LG in tears, asked about replacement or lemon policy and was told LG needed details from repairman so I waited over a week, heard nothing, called LG again and there was nothing to indicate that LG was supposed to do anything so I had wasted another week and 1/2. I was EXTREMELY upset and LG agreed to send a repairman from another company so a man from Keiser came and said the entire freezer drawer (not the inside but the whole thing) was out of alignment or something and he adjusted. It has been a couple of weeks and so far so good. We have LG washer and dryer set and were very happy with the quality which is why we purchased the refridge but dealing with LG, trying to understand the heavy accented folks on the phone, not following thru, making me feel desperate AND the mere fact that the fridge had such issues after less than 2 years has completely shaken the confidence I once felt.

In April of 2015, same issue....freezer frosting up, then stopped cooling. It was a compressor problem..shocking. June of 2019 freezer stopped working, next day fridge part quit. 2 days to get a tech (who was wonderful). Tried to say it is a sulfur problem in the water (our water is filtered), then the compressor and now its also the motherboard...all at one time. Trying to get a unit replacement because obviously, the refrigerator is a lemon. I uploaded all the receipts and supporting documents and now I have to wait until JULY 8th!!!! to get this fixed. I am under warranty for at least 6 more years. At this point Id like to be refunded for this obviously defective appliance.

It doesnt just stop working, no, it starts dumping water when the ice tray is still full of ice and I find a big puddle of water on the kitchen floor, an inch of ice in the dump spout, the ice bin is one solid block of ice. This is the chunkiest, clunkingest, noisiest refrigerator I have ever seen. I have to pull the thing out from the wall and turn the water off to change the water filter. This is the worst engineered piece of junk I have ever purchased and I will never buy another LG product of any kind. We are throwing this $2000 piece of junk away and going out to buy another refrigerator this weekend.

We purchased our LG electric range in 2016 for remodel. It worked great for approximately 3 years & then the heating would not work properly, I have to set the heating at 425 to reach 350 temperature. Of course at this point it is out of warranty. I’ve had a LG service repair man out to fix & he could not figure out what it could be. I paid for his service & it actually worked properly for about 2 weeks then back to low heat. I’ve never had any problems with ovens. We bought all new LG appliances in the black stainless & no problems with them but the electric range is a fail. Will never buy anything LG ever again.

I have a now ten-year old LMX25964 ST Refrigerator made by LG. It is a French door version with two pullout freezers underneath. It has worked flawlessly with one exception. The hinge wore out on the right side. Theres just a piece of Delrin plastic that rides on the hinge. I started seeing powder from the metal grinding for like two years before I realized what was going on. Maybe I put too much weight on that door. I now store the milk on the solid shelf off the door. It cost me about an hour looking at YouTube to figure out how to fix it and around $20 in parts. The fix process went surprisingly well. I had predicted a disaster. Door came off easily as did the old hinge. I draped a towel in front while the power was off to retain the cool. In the old days we used to put the old fridge out in the garage after the remodel where it cooled beer for 20 more years. Those days are gone. I have a LG washer dryer combo that was very high end at the time of purchase. They have performed perfectly for ten years now. My LG dishwasher went bad two months after the warranty ran out. I took it apart, took one look and put it back together. Whatever I did it must have reset the circuit board or something. Works fine now.

I purchased an LG dishwasher 6 years ago, in which time I have 4 service calls. This appliance was expensive and the repairs to date have included failure on the insulation (overheating), error messages causing the machine to stop, a leak, and most recently the machine smelled of burning electrical and has now completely shut down. I purchased extended warranties to cover the repairs, but the inconveniences Ive experienced and the nature of the failures of this product are not justifiable for a dishwasher in this price range and of its age.

I have been reading the many complaints of the LG gas oven switch complaints. We have been having the same problems. (1) Clothing catching on switches and accidentally lighting the burners. (2) Switches turning on but not far enough to ignite the gas supply leaving raw gas to disperse into the kitchen. I wrote to LG about this problem and the answer indicated that they had heard about the problem but it was not dangerous enough to issue a recall. Maybe they need a house fire or a gassing death before they are compelled to take real action. By the way the answer I received had many grammatical errors in the reply so I assume it may be written by some low paid clerk with no real knowledge of the danger with this design problem. No more LG products for this household.

Our washer/dryer set (WM2016) was purchased from Sears about 4 years ago. My wife has always complained about the stench in the tub. Then last week, she was complaining about a smell (different). The next night, I came home from work and she said it was smelling again. When I got to the laundry room, the smoke alarm started sounding and I could not see the washer. After getting in and shutting it off, the drum was on fire which was quickly extinguished. I pulled the washer out and unplugged it. At that point, I needed to remove the top to make sure the fire was out, which it was. The next morning, I took the machine apart to see what happened to our 4-year-old washer. It seems that LG made a part inside of the plastic drum that is made from aluminum that was not treated by any means. It corroded, causing the drum to contact the outer drum. Had we not been home, we could have lost everything. I will not purchase anything LG produces from here out. When contacted, they could care less as we have your money!

Our LG French door refrigerator stopped cooling as noticed on a Thursday evening. The next day, Friday, early in the morning, I tried to reach the LG call repair centre but I was put on hold. I waited holding the phone to my ear for about 10 minutes. Then I called Corbeil Appliances in Ottawa and I was told that I might have to wait on hold for at least a half hour. This is not acceptable. I did try calling the LG repair centre again throughout the morning but again I was put on hold. Then finally on that same Friday afternoon, someone answered at the LG call repair centre. I was then booked in for service the following Thursday which is about one week of waiting without a refrigerator to cool foods and medicines. This LG repair call centre and service is not acceptable. We have an extended warranty which fortunately was still in effect. The LG service technician was professional and repaired our LG refrigerator. He appreciated our frustration at trying to book an appointment to have our refrigerator repaired. In the future, I dont think I will consider buying another LG product as long as reviews re: booking a service repair, remain negative. I will also recommend to friends that they read the LG repair call centre reviews before they consider purchasing an LG product. Come on, LG product personnel, improve your LG repair call centre customer service!

Our LG fridge LFX28968SW was already in our house when we moved in Apr 2017
Our LG fridge LFX28968SW was already in our house when we moved in Apr 2017. However, the label is stamped with manufactured 2013 so it cant be more than 4 years old. This model lists for $2,400 ++. It is a beautiful appliance, but beauty is only skin deep here. The fridge stopped cooling and freezing in Aug 2017; thats way too soon for a durable goods product. ALL of my previous fridges (Amanda, Frigidaire, Kitchen Aid) lasted over 10 years without issue when I left them for the next homeowner. The one homeowner says Frigidaire is still running without issue and its over 17 years. Anyway, I called LG customer service and we ran the SMART Diagnosis process but the rep said it didnt reveal any errors; I guess it isnt so smart after all. We did get the unit to display a error code 22, which according to the LG website, indicates a compressor relay failure. Its a small, easily accessible, inexpensive part ($12 for similar parts on Amazon) but LG customer service refused to provide me with a parts list and service manual and said that only LG certified techs can repair it. Since the remaining LG warranty only covers parts, Im guessing at least $200-$350 labor costs based on posts for similar repairs. So, after 3 days of waiting on the LG recommended techs to make an appointment, I contacted a repairman recommended by 2-10 Home Warranty. They came next day and replaced the relay but it still isnt working; so much for the reliability of the error codes. He said a fuse on the control board blew and since the fuse is soldered in, the whole board needs replaced. (PS I have the fridge on a surge protector). I asked him candidly if this was an ongoing problem, his response was he does several per month but unfortunately cant keep the boards in stock so its at least another week to get the replacement part. So after two weeks, Im still living out of coolers and my daughters dorm room fridge.Luckily we had the 2-10 Home Warranty that came with the purchase of our home. Otherwise, the cost would be significantly higher. So Im looking at a $100 deductible, plus cost of food spoilage, plus cost of ice for coolers. In addition to the cost, its a huge inconvenience to constantly manage the issue (phone calls, service appointments, waiting on parts, swapping ice, etc) all this to fix a supposed top of the line fridge. Its not right to have a durable goods product fail after 4 years, and based on my experience with customer service, and based on parts availability, and based on responsiveness of the LG techs, and based the blogs, I wont buy any LG product no matter what it is. The internet mentions a class action suit brewing, I will surely sign on when I get the right contact.

I love having two ovens! The smaller pizza oven is great for most things, but having the larger oven with the convection feature is wonderful for my big family. The glass top is so much easier to keep clean than traditional burners. The self cleaning feature works wonderfully when you follow directions. After more than ten years, we are going to replace the heating elements because of uneven heating. I consider this an acceptable routine maintenance.

This machine does not move clothes from the top to bottom and there have been times I take clothes out and there are dry areas - water hasn’t even touched those areas. Whatever is on the top stays there - just shifts from side to side unlike the video. I’ve watched it. It defeats the purpose of HE to use the water plus feature - it’s the only way clothes have a chance to get fully wet. I had a front loader previously for 10 years and wanted to give this a chance. It’s awful and an agitator machine is better than this. Extremely disappointed in LG. Never again.

I have had an extremely unsatisfactory experience with my 5 year old LG front loading washing machine. In the beginning it was a mildew odor in the unit. Did a few loads with bleach and wiped around rubber sealant weekly. The clothes do not seem clean to me. I have adjusted the water levels, amount of detergent, the cycle is way over an hour and the results are not good. The control panel shut down and now I have to spend $500 to replace it. I also had a LG refrigerator that only lasted 5 years. Terrible products. So I saw the Magnetron has a 10 year warranty so I called and they told me on the phone, it would cost me 125.00 right there for the service call and the technician would come out and replace the Magnetron and if it was over 30 min I would pay 35. Extra. When the guy came he looked at the microwave and said, It is the Magnetron and I ordered it but it did not come yet, and you owe me 35.00. I will be back in two weeks with the part.I am furious. I asked him what that 35.00 was for and why did he come out without the part and he said, I charge 160, so are suppose to pay me 35.00 no matter what. 1. Why did he come here without the part? 2. This is not what they told me on the phone. 3. I called them to complain and they said exactly the same thing to me and then when I asked for a manager, the CS person said, we have to review your call and you have to pay him for ordering the part, and then he said you have to pay him for extra time and then he said something else. When I pointed out all the various things he said, he said, We have to say these things. He refused to put me through to a manager. He said, We will call you tomorrow and review your call. Which is nuts since he said the exact same thing to me and the service guy said something different. Also the CS rep said, Well 70-80% of the time the service tech brings the Magnetron. So I pay extra time because I am in the 20%. Also NO ONE SAID I needed to pay another 35.00 when he came. They said, If he goes over 30 minutes. So, so wrong.

You try to take the clothes apart and end up with a left arm of a shirt twice the length of the other. Its awful, the clothes come out all stretched out from trying to pull them apart. As I am writing this the repairman is behind my fridge replacing the compressor. I had called the LG customer service and was on hold. Was hoping to use the “Smart Diagnosis” through the fancy transmitter on the fridge, but then received an instructional text. That did not help. 2 yr old LG French door LMX31985ST/0. Repaired at 16 months (defrost grill in freezer) $300. Repaired at 28 months 4x still not working (1/4/16 to today 2/12/16) error code F ds. LGs response to us was reset the fridge using the breaker from the electrical service box). We did and have had to do for 6 weeks. Repair company replaced at our expense: freezer defrost sensor $175 parts/labor. Main board parts and labor $175. Sensor for fridge $300 parts and labor. So after paying $950 in repairs over the course of 1 year and 1 month the fridge today was dripping water on the floor from the ice maker which we find is NOT WORKING now. No error code even on the fridge!! The fridge is not cooling, the ice maker is not working, and the freezer has thawed everything overnight (so the defrost is stuck on??) So 4 repairs and it is still not working, in fact it is ON but NOT WORKING! LG will do NOTHING like this has never happened before??? So after spending $950 for repairs and $3300 for the fridge in (Oct 2013) we have a piece of junk!

This is a review of the LG customer service experience for a repair of an LFXS29626S French Door refrigerator. We woke up Christmas morning to find the 3yr old refrigerator was no longer cooling at all. Reviewing the warranty showed that the sealed system was still covered, so I placed a call to LG customer service. While the customer service phone rep was quite friendly/understanding and professional, thats where the enjoyable experience ended. Net-net is that after 4 months and 5 separate repair visits from 2 separate 3rd party repair shops, many phone calls, much lost time and spoiled food, the unit is still not functioning as expected. The unit was cooling properly after the 4th visit, but now the unit sounded like a leaf blower all the time. The final fix was more of a hack that only partially addressed the noise issue, but they say that it falls within spec tolerance.I called LG and requested escalation. Upon speaking to the escalation manager, I requested that they replace the unit since it was not actually fixed. She was very firm that the company had a process that must be followed and that they would not replace the unit. They offered a minimal reimbursement for the spoiled food, which would nowhere near cover all that we had lost. Either way, we have not received any reimbursement. At this point were going to put the unit in the garage and purchase another refrigerator - something other than LG. The thing that the company (especially the escalation manager) didnt seem to grasp was the concept of total customer value. Not only will this experience keep me from buying LG refrigerators in the future, but since they also sell everything from washers/dryers, to TVs, to cell phones, I will look elsewhere for many products. The marginal cost for them to simply replace the refrigerator would probably have been around $600, but instead they likely spent more than twice that on parts and 3rd party repair services. When you add that to the future lost revenue it was simply a bad business decision that could have been properly remedied in order to keep an affluent customer.

Tried to find one that was rated good in Consumer Affairs. I have had this pair for about 5 years. I looked at consumer feedback to find one that was rated well. They seem to do ok. I dont like the odor coming from the washer when you have the door closed too long, so I always leave it open when not in use. I look for capacity, energy efficiency, discounts, brand, quality. How fast they will come out and repair if it breaks down. I look for quality and price has to enter in on it. Most expensive is not always what I want. It may not have the features I want. I want and need large size that keeps working.

We purchased our home in 2/2015 which came with LG washing machine purchased in August 2013. Machine started showing UE/balance error by September. In first call to LG, we were told we needed to level machine. We did so, but machine was already leveled. Soon after, UE warnings began to appear during sheet washes and tub cleans. If we are not on top of the cycle, machine will run for hours spinning and then refilling then spinning again. Called again and told since we were out of two-year warranty we were responsible for call and repair. Technician recommended by LG said circuit board was gone and would cost $300 for part. One more call to LG, and we were told they could do nothing for us. Technician said to just purchase new machine as we would be throwing good money after bad. So we are replacing two and a half year old machine that was used since purchased by two owners who were retired couples and have minimal washes. A huge piece of junk. I would NEVER purchase an LG appliance again.

Stay far away from LG and specifically the LG French Door with bottom freez
Stay far away from LG and specifically the LG French Door with bottom freezer drawer models. In general the mechanical design of the LG is 1) stupid and 2) unreliable, and 3) the service call center is staffed by script reading drones that give no useful information or satisfaction! My LG model LFX28978 is technically designed for the convenience of LG not the customer or service companies. First problem - the ice maker. Poorly designed so that the cable energizing the cube tray rotation motor was too short and managed to pull itself apart. New Ice maker needed. Second problem freezer not cold enough. Freezer Fan motor would not function. Resolution was to REPLACE the entire motherboard for the whole refrigerator unit! There are no simple relays to turn fans, lights and other necessary apparatus on and off; it all comes from the Motherboard (on board computer) so replacing that is the only answer. That is like designing a high end laptop or desktop where the CPU has to be replaced to resolve a key stroke problem! Next, water would not flow into the unit for the ice maker or the water dispenser? Problem is that at the main water input from the hose to the refrigerator there is a very complicated system where the water comes in and then goes up into the refrigerator cabin through a replaceable filter then back down the intake valve where there are more lines and solenoid valves to then feed the Ice Maker and Water dispenser? These are all controlled by (yes you guessed it) the main computer board! There is more but you get the idea. By the way, dont expect a reasonable service response. It is not part of the LG DNA. It is tedious and contra instinctive. The contract service people who come to work on our LG refrigerator love it. Quote our last service tech LG is great. That is how I can afford have all the things my family really likes! Without LG I couldnt make nearly as good a living.

An LG technician came in and told me he had bad news for me, he could not work in the unit due to Sulfur Contamination and his company advised him not to fix the unit. When I asked him, what could cause such contamination, he said it is because the Chinese Drywalls. Our refrigerator Model #LSXS26366D is in the list of defective linear compressors in the LG Class Action Lawsuit. Our previous refrigerator was plugged in the same area for 13 years and never had a problem. We moved the old refrigerator to the garage, and it is still working under heat and humidity in a Florida garage. Our Air condition company certified that all our lines are clean with no contamination. All the appliances in our house are working properly, including our LG Washer and Dryer.Today I called a specialized company in the Chinese drywall detection and they never heard of a refrigerator failing due to Chinese drywalls. This is not possible. Also, they mentioned that a Technician cant diagnose a contamination without testing the particles. I work in a power plant company in Florida and all the Engineers stated that the compressor is in a sealed environment with no co-relation to the outside elements. I have called the LG Customer Service multiple times requesting a written service call invoice as the Technician did not leave a written diagnose. LG refused to produce the document and the customer service rep hanged up on me.The second customer service told me to call a third-party repair company a pay out of my pocket. Today another rep offered 20% rebate on a new purchase. Again, the refrigerator is three years old and under warranty for five years under a Class Action Settlement for this Unit. There is no proof and no explanation on writing of the cause of failure. Yesterday we called again, and the customer service rep said that our refrigerator is irreparable. She transferred us to a Supervisor by the name Arthur, we request a diagnose on writing and he said not to be allowed to send emails and he will send a request a copy of the service call. Please help us to receive repair for our fridge under warranty. Thank you.

LFX25991ST- 4th time for repair, DO NOT BUY LG: We bought this fridge in 2013. Right before the warranty was up the compressor broke. That was covered by the warranty even though we lost the $200 worth of food. A couple of months later, the fridge breaks again. The tech comes through days later. Food is spoiled. Lose $150. By this time I am using their extended warranty. The extended warranty has the worst service ever. It is an outsourced service where they read off a script and punch in numbers and information into a computer. They CANNOT help you in any way except waste your time.A couple months ago, same problem. Tech comes out and fixes it. It breaks days later and comes out three days later even though we bought food again. We have lost hundreds of dollars worth of food. Now, it has broken again! Same problem, not cooling, ice melting, and waiting for tech who will come in two days. Food will spoil again. Do not buy LG. Worst service and even worst product. I will buy Kenmore and call it a day. This has been a recurring nightmare. DO NOT BUY no matter what the deal is. Not worth it!

Purchased this machine in 2010 for over $800. I was told it was fabulous. It was - for a few months. But then we noticed that our clothes were no longer smelling clean. In fact they come out smelling worse than when they went in dirty. There is just nothing that can prepare you for getting out of the shower, grabbing a clean towel and experiencing a smell so sour and disgusting, that you feel as though you need to shower again. They told us that we need to maintain our machine every month. What??? Is this a joke? The energy efficient uses less water machine they bragged about - we are now being told we should run 1 to 3 cleaning cycles, with special, expensive chemicals, EVERY month. EVERY MONTH for the life of the machine. I must do this in order to have clean laundry. Am I the only person who finds this absolutely insane??? I now have to take more effort and money every month to maintain my machine, then it actually took to do my laundry with my old machine. If doing my laundry with an LG washer is going to take this much effort... I might as well drag my laundry down to the creek and scrub it on some rocks. That would actually be quicker and more cost effective and, work better!!! I have called customer service (a bunch of foreign speaking people) numerous times. This last time was the last straw. They do not care for your opinion. They speak to you as though you are the problem. When I explained to the guy that the entire area around my bleach cup has completely rusted - guess what - thats right - it is my fault, and no one else on the planet has had this problem. I called knowing that my warranty is long gone but I told him I just wanted to give them feedback from a consumer about how I felt about their product. But, as you already know he doesnt care. He kept telling me to wash out my machine, and that I dont understand how to maintain my machine. I guess judging from the 100s of 1- star reviews, and similar complaints no one else on Earth knows how to do that either. So here is the bottom line. I own a business cleaning resort units. I have dealt with every machine known to man. I have only ever seen one other machine as junkie as this. I will NEVER buy another LG washer. I will go back to old school, agitator... where my clothes are actually coming out clean, and I never, ever, ever had to wash my machine to keep my laundry coming out the way it is suppose to. PS - you will want to avoid the Whirlpool/Maytag (both the same company now) top loaders as well. They are just as big of a nightmare!!

We bought the LG Steam set back in May 2009. With a big family, it was such a blessing to get a large capacity elite washer and dryer! We used our tax money for this expensive set with the premise the company pledges: that we would quickly reap the savings of this energy and water efficient washer. Well 4 1/2 years later we have a broken washer with a bearing assembly that needs replaced. The washer kept filling up all on its own and leak, then it wouldnt drain and then getting stuck in the midst of a cycle. We would have to drain the tub and ring our clothes out by hand (we have 7 people in our family). Then it finally quit spinning altogether. It has been a mess to say the least. Total cost to fix it? Repairman said in the $800 range. That is ridiculous for a machine that is less than 5 years old and was so expensive to begin with. And it sounds like this is a manufacturing problem as I read so many others who have this exact same thing happen. Can we say class action law suit? Sign me up.

My LG bottom freezer completely went out even with a proven working outlet Sat night full of food after 12 hour shift working as an RN. Less than 5 years old, replaced ice maker. Center shelves on refrigerator cracked. Drawers broken. I am at loss as what to make of this substandard refrigerator. I imagine circuit board or sensor broken. Unsuccessful in obtaining any data to move my internal fridge to work, not even taking in consideration the substandard condition of the inside of refrigerator.

I bought my LG French door refrigerator in 2011 and its pretty much dead now. The ice maker was always flakey but we lived with it. The gasket doors started hanging up and we lived through it. Then ice maker stopped making ice. Ordered new ice maker but found out that it was not making ice because it was not cold enough. Cleaned the coils and it just slowly got worse. Ordered a temp sensor and the main pcb. Tried those parts but still not cooling properly. Called LG. I figured it was the compressor because I read that LG was using bad compressors. Paid a certified LG service provider 600.00 in labor to replace compressor.Called Friday and by Tuesday they were replacing the compressor, wow Im feeling good about now. Two guys 4 or 5 hrs later and calls to LG and they were told they needed the main pcb. I gave them the new pcb I had ordered and the same problem persisted. The compressor shuts down after 15 minutes. They said they would have to order another one from LG and come back. After not hearing for a couple of days I called them and ask them What was up? They said that they ordered but because LG was having so many problems with these compressors they were back ordered and they had no idea when a new compressor would arrive. They said not their fault call LG and ask them.Call LG but they were useless. They said they were not having any issues with bad compressors and dont believe anything you read on the internet. I asked What about the service provider? Is he lying to me? LG responds that it does not take much to become a warranty service provider just ask to be one. No training. Wow! LG pretty much said 7 years is the lifespan of their products and then they become legacy and put at back of the bus. They will provide parts if they can get them. I own a LG55 inch tv that fail after about 5 years, found a main board out of Nova Scotia and was able to repair that. If it wasnt for that it would in the trash. So here is the problem I paid the service provider to replace the compressor and LG provided the part but if they have to come back to do it again who pays for that? LG can send another compressor but theyre not paying for the service. The service provider had two guys for about 4 to 5 hrs. Why would the service provider work for free? I can see this evolving into cant get parts from LG and LG saying they have no issues supplying good parts forever and never repairing my fridge. Thank god I did not but an LG exploding phone. It took them forever to recall those phones!

Initially I thought this machine (LG F4J8JH2W Washer Dryer in White) to be quite good. The dryer worked very efficiently - the clothes sometimes came out hot.4 months after I purchased it however, we notice quite a lot of smoke coming out from the drum. Luckily we were in the kitchen so switched off the power immediately before the smoke could develop further. LG response - was to send an engineer to investigate, not to get it out of the house. Updated on 07/29/2020: LG response with a classic, there are not the way they treat a customer. The same for everyone because I read other reviews (too late for me, I already bought the oven). The reviews were mixed, but not good enough. Original Review: I bought it on March 2018, and is not working. No heat. I call customer service saying I think is the magnetron. It has a 10 year warranty. They say I need to call an LG technician. I didn’t buy the extended warranty because it was too expensive. So, I need to pay the labor. So it not worth it. I will not buying an LG microwave again.

Always out of balance. Cannot wash a small load. Doing a bath robe? Better buy 10 of them so the machine is full otherwise it will not wash and will go out of balance. Have a blanket to wash? Sorry, you will need to wash every one of them in the house because the machine will go out of balance if you have fewer than 4-6 blankets. Forget about washing your bath mats with the waterproof, non-slip backing as those are not recommended to be washed in this washer. Just throw them out every week and buy new ones. Plan to spend hours every week staring into your washer waiting for it to go out of balance because if you do not babysit this machine, it will empty and refill, empty and refill, using hundreds of gallons of water in a futile attempt to rebalance the load. Would write more but my LG washer is out of balance again so I have to go.

Lg seems to have better products than most companies. They look better and have better functionality and for the price they cant be beat. Weve had our LG fridge for 8 years and not 1 problem. We had to special order the size and we couldnt have made a better pick. Its sleek and has plenty of room despite being smaller than the standard fridge. I like the bottom freezer, it has a drawer so it really maximizes the space in the freezer. If I had to change anything it would be on the outside. Because it is a smooth shiny black, fingerprints show badly on it as well as any dirt or food so I constantly have to wipe it down which isnt a dealbreaker for me because Im OCD anyway.

The LG refrigerator was on a sale brand new and nothing was wrong with it. It was the first fridge I bought using my own credit card in my name. It has no issues what so ever mechanically. Stainless steel and I loved the organization options it has with it being huge. It had freezer drawers and fridge was sorted in a way even buying $1000 worth of food anyone could find anything without looking very hard. Best one bought yet. Love it! But it got dirty really fast, you can see the dirt without even looking very hard. The only thing is I can use water or simple cleaners to clean it. My parents and grandparents were looking for a fridge too and I recommended this fridge to both. 1 and 2 bought it and have said they love it. No issues at all and it matches with other appliances they have in their kitchen.

Our refrigerator’s compressor stopped working a little over 3 weeks ago. I have called LG numerous times to try and get an answer to see if they’ll fix. It’s still under warranty. Because of Covid-19, they can’t find any service person in my area. The last person I talked to on the phone told me that because I don’t have my sales receipt that there’s not they can do for me. This fridge was purchased over 9 years ago. And he said “well whatever“ as if he didn’t care to hear my side. Kept talking over me and also my wife who was trying to explain herself. What truly upset us both was the lack of professionalism and the fact that I’ve had to contact lg every time to get an answer. An email was promised last week and. Not until today Monday May 11, 2020 was the email sent after the person I spoke with told me that they would be sending it!!!! Basically I don’t recommend any lg products to anyone. Customer service is located in the Philippines, nothing wrong with that but it’s like they don’t care because they’re not here dealing with our problems. Very disappointing experience for us.

This time, it again took 10 days to get the parts shipped. This worked for 1 day before it went out again. The service guy called and said it was another part and had it shipped another 10 days. When it got here, the service guy said it was the wrong part, so now another 10 days for the parts to ship. In between scheduling for someone to actually come out and repair the machine was always a couple more days. I called LG USA directly and was basically told nothing. Not even a Sorry for your trouble. Their response was that there was nothing that they could do. Apparently, once you buy an LG product, you are on your own. So I bought an LG Top Loading Washing Machine, Model # WT1101CW in June of 2014. After about 6 weeks the washing machine started getting uneven loads, on small batches, normal-sized batches, even just a table cloth and placemats. This now happens about 60% of the loads, if not more often. It fills with TONS of WATER multiple times in an attempt to balance an already balanced load (I take several minutes now to load the washer to make sure its perfect) and has skyrocketed our water bill. High efficiency my rear end. I was in contact with LG and they said its normal. Normal to have a high efficiency washer raise my water bill by 300%? NO thanks. NEVER buying an LG Washer ever again. We are extremely dissatisfied with LGs customer service and lack of commitment to honoring its product warranty. We gave the experience a one star rating as it was the lowest option in order to continue this review, but we would assign a negative rating if that was an option. We bought an entire suite of LG kitchen appliances in 2013. The fridge stopped cooling at the beginning of May, 2019. Since that time, we have paid for service calls by two different repair companies and have made numerous phone calls to LG in an attempt to resolve this problem. LG has agreed that the parts are covered under warranty, but they no longer carry one of the parts (an evaporator). One of their representatives advised us that we could have them try and obtain the part from a third party or file an appeal for a defective unit. After determining that the part through the third party was on backorder and would take at least three weeks to obtain, with no guarantee as to an exact delivery date, we elected to file the appeal. At that point, we had been without a refrigerator for over a month, Several more weeks have gone by. Despite assurances from LG that we would be contacted, we had to call them multiple times for a status update and had to submit the appeal more than once. When we called a few days ago to once again to determine the status of our appeal, we were advised that it had been rejected the week prior (again, nobody from LG contacted us). They claim the appeal was rejected because the part is available through the third party (even though is is on backorder for at least another three weeks). We are fed up with this whole process! We never expected to have to replace a refrigerator that is just 6 1/2 years old - our prior refrigerators each lasted over 20 years. We were hoping that since LG no longer carries the parts necessary to honor their warranty, they would honor a defective unit appeal with at least some type of discounted price on a replacement refrigerator. In researching this issue on the internet, we have seen numerous complaints about LG refrigerators with faulty compressors and poor customer service from LG in attempting to get the problem resolved. Think twice before purchasing a product from LG... We will certainly never buy anything else manufactured by this company.

We bought this LG WM3670MWA washer and paired dryer at Nebraska Furniture Mart in in June 30,2018. The Silk screened Cycle Name lettering is now dissolving and even rubbing off the washer. LG says its COSMETIC damage because something other than warm water and a damp cloth was used to clean the washer. We use Shout as a pre-wash and have for the last 15+ years. Our 13 year old Samsung front loaders never had any issues with lettering rub off. I sprayed Shout on a 9 year old silk screened plastic cup and let it sit for a week, adding Shout each day, and its still perfect. Never buy another LG Product. NFMs $270.00 extra warranty was worthless for this as they say if LG says its cosmetic, theres no reason to even come look at it. They only cover mechanical breakdown. Not happy with performance either. Also, Turbo-Wash times are reasonable but will only take 3 items (?).

Took him a week to get back to us because of the holidays. He told us the sealed freon system was broken and the compressor was toast and he could not do the repair. He charged us for the visit and left. He said it would cost a lot of money to fix - So we tried to contact another service company to fix it. The only one we could find to work on our fridge is a couple of hours away and we have to take the refrigerator to them. It is very heavy and taking it down a flight of stairs is pretty scary and we really dont want to transport it. We called LG again trying to get a service tech to come out to our home to fix it but cant get through to anyone. At this point we are probably going to buy another brand as we have been without a fridge for weeks. If LG wants our business please answer your phones!

I am very disappointed at the integrity of the knobs. They look and feel like good quality, but I am disappointed to find that inside the knob hole is plastic (not good quality). After just over a year (warranty expired, of course), two of the knobs cracked inside the holes and will no longer turn the burners on correctly. Within the first year of owning a new LG gas range, the 5-burner control knobs were breaking where the knob slides onto the shaft of the gas control mechanism. I tried repairing it myself and it worked for a while, but now they are so bad they need replacing. Why can it not be made of metal? This simple solution would solve the problem. While searching various parts replacement sites, the knobs are over $70.00 each to replace, 5 x 70 = $350.00 for knobs? Is this customer service and support after the sale? I am so disappointed in the quality of these knobs and the expense to replace them that I may replace the whole range on principle and never purchase an LG product again, of any type. What happens when I put the new knobs on and they crack and break? Another $350.00 in todays dollars for knobs? I dont think so. I have checked around and there are no replacement knobs of better quality available. LG needs to get their act together. After almost one and a half year only, now all the 5 valves and burners are bad and thank God I bought the extended warranty which is covering that problem. The only reason I bought this stove was the look and then I assumed that since it is an expensive stove, it must be good. But beware everybody, do not buy this product! I will keep on saying that until they fix my stove either by replacing it for once and for all. But at least I found a nice rep who promised to send me 5 new knobs as they have upgraded those knobs with metal inserts. Lets see if theyll work or not!

A search for class action LG refrigerator will provide all the details required to understand the problems I and so many others have experienced. LG was of no help, replying to service requests with email that I can only hope was machine generated. Of the replies received the solution recommended was to pay them more money. We didnt subscribe to the fridge, we purchased it.

Water dispenser for drinking water, ice cube dispenser and french door with temperature indicators with touch screen monitor to change settings depending on my need. I am very much satisfied with the refrigerator except that I need to change the filter every 6 months. Other than that it is very much fulfilling my needs. Price was reasonable when compared to others and availability when I needed and also in the physical store so that I could have a look before buying.

I spent two ** days trying to find out what the codes from my LG LMX28988st refrigerator were trying to say. This fridge I bought From Sears for $2500 3 years ago stopped being cold. I called LG & Sears tech support asking for a service manual, both were less than helpful. I finally found a service manual on a blog link, it was so easy to find out the blinking code said the circuit board and the compressor needed replaced on my 3 year old fridge. (My parents fridge is over 20 yrs old still works.) So I guess dont buy LG or from Sears. I’m ** I wasted all that time talking to useless customer service and getting ** by them without any help.
