I purchased a top of the line LG refrigerator and after 1 year the front panel got very dim. Called LG Support and they told me they would not do anything to help. So I lived with the problem. A year later the front water dispenser didnt shut off. Called again, there are only two of us in the house so the refrigerator is lightly used, we should not have any problems in the first 2 years. Again I called LG and they would not do anything for me. Basically once they got my money they could care less about their machine and their name. I would never, I mean never buy any LG again, they produce junk for a high price.

We purchased this refrigerator Dec. 15, 2014 its not a year old and still under the factory warranty. This is the second time that we have had this problem with the refrigerator not getting cold. May 2015 was the first time someone came out and adjusted the temperature, the same problem happen again around September 11, 2015 where it wasnt cooling or making ice. The day I got out of the hospital, I come home and everything in my freezer had thawed out and spoil. I began calling immediately but no one seems to put themselves in our shoes. We have been without a refrigerator since September 18th, 2015. Someone from Jebco in Saraland, AL. came out on September 23, 2015 said that he had to order a part and for us to unplug our refrigerator until he return on Monday September 28, 2015. Well Monday came, his clerk called to say that he would not be able to come on that day. I was so upset that I hung up on her, but later called back to apologize, later that day she called LG to inform them that she did not think I was satisfied with them QUOTE: Im not satisfied with anyone because everyone has a refrigerator and we dont. We are having to keep water in a cooler and having to go out to food because we cant put anything in the fridge. All we are asking is for them to give us another refrigerator, nobody seems to be able to accommodate for our loss. We are still paying for a broke down refrigerator, its notfair. I thought customers were always right and came first, well it seems that is not a true statement, because if it were true they should make sure that the customers are happy and satisfied to every extent.I am so dissatisfied with HHGregg and LG, I am letting everyone know not to deal with either one of them because they dont stand by their word of satisfying their customers. Is there anyone that can help me please come forward to give me some advices? We have spoken to so many peoples and nobody doing anything.

LG French door refrigerator - I was reading Tony from San Antonios problem with his fridge and it sounds exactly the same for me. 22 months ago, I bought an LG refrigerator from Best Buy for $2400 and last week, it stopped cooling down enough to safely use. It cant get below 40-50 degrees. I didnt get the extended warranty so now I have spent another $400 on service calls and nobody can figure out whats wrong. They tried adding some Freon thinking there was a leak but now I am getting an error message on the front. If anyone has had a similar problem and figured out what to do to fix it, please email me what worked. Never again, LG.

We have already had the dishwashers front panel replaced once because of mysterious stains that appeared (off white/greyish color) and now it is happening again. The shape of the stains are very odd and could not be splatter or drips. Is anyone else having this problem? I believe the stains are coming from within the door.... While trying to get a pic of stains, I just noticed my dishwasher leaks too!

This 6-year-old LG LFC25760ST refrigerator is at my vacation home. Its hardly used as compared to my 2 other refrigerators which are manufactured by Amana & Whirlpool, 10 & 18 years old and working without any problems. The tech repair said the weld failed on the low end freon side of the cooling system. LG tells me its beyond the warranty period and there is nothing they can do.

I purchased the top of the line Steam Front Loader approx. 3 years. ago. My wife and I are the only two that have used this washer, so it was taken care of and cleaned after every wash. I am a Machinist and work on much larger machines, so I know my medals. My wife put a normal size load in and the machine started shaking and smoking. We turned it off and opened the door and smoke filled the room. I contacted LG and explained it to them. They told me to take the machine apart and send them pictures. I did. Man was I shocked to see the cheap metal they use in their machines. It was so corroded, rusted, and full of mildew. When I went to pick up the part it broke into, in my hand. I didnt use any force on it whatsoever. With the RPM these machines put out, if we would have left it on, and it broke someone would have been badly hurt or even worse. I learned my lesson from LG. They do not service what they sell, they dont return phone calls, they will lie to you in a heartbeat. I also learned to read reviews before I purchase again... NEVER ANOTHER LG. I have learned most people that write reviews tell it the way it really is.

I purchased an LG French-door refrigerator in November, 2010, from Home Depot for $1198. Earlier this week I came home to puddles of water in my kitchen as the refrigerator compressor died resulting in my losing about a couple hundred dollars-worth of food. I called LG customer service, gave my model number and was told by their representative that the compressor was under warranty and I would only have to pay for labor. I was then provided with the numbers of two LG approved repair services. I had one service come out today and charge me $95 to confirm it is the compressor that no longer works, and let me know that labor cost to repair would be $650. That is pretty high so I called LG customer service again because my friend had the same thing happen to her LG refrigerator 3 weeks ago (what a coincidence) and it cost her $250 in labor, a big difference from $450. Turns out LG can send out one of their repair technicians who can do the repair for a total of $375. I do not know why this wasnt offered from the beginning and why I was directed to an independent repair service that costs almost double, but that is a sub-issue. What was truly upsetting was that it was at this time that the customer service representative told me that my refrigerator is actually not under warranty and that I would have to pay for parts and labor. If I had been told this from the beginning then I would have not have had the repair person come out and waste $95. I would have just gone directly to buying a new refrigerator, which is what I am left to do now because the cost of labor and parts will be near $1,000. So in sum, I spent nearly $1,200 on an LG refrigerator to last me less than 8 years and, to add insult to injury, I then spent an additional $95 for a repair call on the bad information provided by the LG customer service center. I asked LG if they would reimburse me for this and they refused. What makes the whole situation even worse is that I see that there was a class action lawsuit over the LG compressor failures, so this is a known issue to LG. Obviously LG is not standing behind its products and its customer service is sub-par. I will not be purchasing LG items ever again and this includes not only appliances but also mobile devices, televisions, audio and computers. I wanted to share this by sharing this experience so others can avoid similar losses.

The ice maker is inside the freezer door and the bin is very small. It doesnt make enough ice for my husband and me. It also shuts off. A small dribble of ice has to be chopped off the front to get it started again. Very disappointed in this aspect. Also only two positions to adjust each shelf in the refrigerator part. Not very accommodating.

I bought an LG 2.0 Microwave from Home Deposit. After only 3 months it started making horrible noises each time the glass turntable rotated. I called LG customer service. I was told to submit my invoice by PDF and would receive a refund check. That info was received. Two weeks later a different LG customer service employee wanted me to sign a waiver before they could issue a check. They also wanted photos of the metal serial number even though they were verbally given to them the first time. BTW: They don’t repair microwaves, but supposedly and eventually cut you a check for another LG microwave upon proof of purchase. Of course they never explained that initially as their rules change with every contact. I told the CS rep. after the fourth call to me (forget about trying to contact them) that I use a microwave every day and can’t wait weeks or months for them to reimburse me.Besides, why would I want to buy the same LG microwave again. I got another brand of microwave the day after the defective one. This is exactly where they want you. You are skeptical of LG microwaves, you bought another brand, so basically you will never be reimbursed for their defective product. This type of deception should result in a class action lawsuit. I believe that stealing $130 is a felony. They didn’t assign any order number to this case, but I have all their correspondence and screenshots of their acceptance of my submitted receipt.

This has been the worse purchase. I have had this washing machine for less than a year and every time I use the machine it pills my clothes (making it uncomfortable to wear), pulls at thread (ruined a brand new comforter), and makes holes. Called LG customer service and they sent someone out but they could not find a problem. However, the problem keeps occurring. I called LG back and they are refusing to send anyone and says the machine is fine. If it was fine I would not be losing money in ruined clothes. I will never buy an LG product again if this is how they treat their customers.

LG Washer/Dryer unit. Noticed water on floor, thought it was the washer. Repairman identified water coming from dryer. He was not able to fix the problem. Might add, weve passed the one yr. warranty and didnt purchase an extended warranty thinking back over 50 yrs of never having to call a W/D repair person. After some personal research discovered the water drain was not connected to the proper reservoir. Never saw a drop of water in the prescribed reservoir which means it was never properly installed at the factory or whatever reason LG can figure who to blame. Theyve given me some repair phone #s. None service our area. Discovered that they have a very narrow presence for repair people. This is a BUYER BEWARE of LG. No service, poor and rude customer service and a phone number with a broken answering string. In the meantime, LG has a duty and a responsibility to mitigate all damages and the Consumer Affairs Division of the State of California needs to look into a company that sells their products without providing a reasonable method of getting repair service. Their star deserves a huge Zero. I bought both items at Home Depot and they could not give me a repair person for LG. Right now were stuck with having an expensive dryer that doesnt work. Carting a basket of wet laundry to dry outside is a huge inconvenience for an 80 yr. old.

COMPRESSOR FAIL - MANUFACTURING DEFECT. I bought an overpriced LG refrigerator ($2500) in June, 2017 at Home Depot. It was broken by JULY 2019. Tough luck for me with no income and late stage cancer...it broke two weeks after the two year warranty expired. The part might be replaced by LG, but I am stuck with the cost and trouble of trying to find a knowledgeable technician. In my area (Raleigh) NO technician familiar with LG will work on them anymore because of these manufacturer defects! The LG rep set up an appointment with a technician - I had to wait over a week, AND they failed to show. I want to join the lawsuit. I get $12/week food stamps and lost all my carefully preserved and frozen food. There is NO WAY I can afford to pay a service tech for this and expected failures of other parts in the future. Watch LG’s “canned” response. They will do nothing.

Quite simply - THE MOST DANGEROUS OVEN... We have had 3 burns due to the smoothtop surface overheating during self cleaning cycle. If you have this oven - BEWARE. One burn was severe. The other problems, the touchpad works...then doesnt work. You never know when it will not comply. Tragically, Christmas dinner was 4 hours late due to this problem. If you cook on the burners and it gets too hot..the oven will not work....and vice versa. Had a repairman and he insists that the repair will cost more than the stove. I am hoping that others confirm they are having these nightmares!

It’s tempting to say buying this product was the worst mistake I’ve ever made, but that, of course, would be an exaggeration. However, this washer is terrible!!! Just like the rest of you, uneven load is the norm, LG basically doesn’t give a crap, and we paid pretty good money for this hunk. Our water bill - hahaha - efficient??? Absolutely the opposite because it takes like 6 runs to get through a load. My husband has tried to throw the washer through the window, straining his back and causing medical problems. Plus we have to go to marriage counseling now because this piece of “machinery” has caused so much stress. Dirty clothes are mounting regularly, our clothes are never fully clean... I wouldn’t be surprised if I get fired from my job for not smelling good! All joking aside, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I wish we had an old school washer.

We purchased an LG refrigerator (Model #LDN20718SW/02) in January 2012. We have replaced the bottom shelf twice now. The second time it broke again within the first week. We have an extended warranty which would not cover replacement if broken within 3 months. We now have a shelf that is also broke that is not covered by the warranty. We do not have children living at home and are not hard on appliances. The plastic in this fridge is very brittle and does not stand up to normal everyday use. LG does not allow purchase of parts, even through an appliance repair, so you can replace these parts yourself. In Canada you must pay a service person to come out to replace these parts!!

New LG Washer Never worked. Leaks and jumps around in spin cycle. This new washer has never successfully washed one load of clothes. The first time we tried to wash a load of clothes, it flooded our washroom. When it entered it spin cycle, it jumped around on the floor and hit the dryer. We contacted Home Depot (where we purchased it along with matching dryer and extended warranties). They immediately started putting us off on a repair shop, LG, and had the delivery company insurance take responsibility for the flooding. The repair shop is so busy that we were not able to get an appointment for 3 weeks. They have tried to repair this washer four times UNSUCCESSFULLY. Each time it takes two to three weeks for the next service appointment.LG does not want to bear any responsibility for producing a faulty, dangerous washer. Each time we try to speak with them they never return calls or put us off on Home Depot, who put us off on them and the Repair company. This is a new Washer that has never washed a load of clothes with an extended warranty. This has been the worst customer service experience we have ever had and the fact that it has come from two major Companies (LG and Home Depot) is really surprising. Note: we have another appointment scheduled a week from now (some progress). Washer - WM3370HRA, Dryer - DLEX3370R.

I love my LG washer. It’s self-adjustment for water levels based on load
I love my LG washer. It’s self-adjustment for water levels based on load is a water saver. However, the ability to increase the water level manually if wanting a greater rinse still gives me control over my laundry. With its many available washing options, one doesn’t have to “think” each time a load Is added; if I’m washing towels, I just choose the “Towel” option and the machine does the rest. My spin cycle is extremely effective, making the drying time a minimal. Last, the size of the tub is large enough for a thin blanket. This is nice when needing to wash stored bed coverings prior to winter use. The only con I might have is getting the message “uneven load” and of acing to stop the machine and adjust the wet items. This usually happens if I have a mix load of unlike weights.

I am currently overseas and purchased an LG F1443KD front loading washer 3 years ago and as a lot of people have experienced the rotor plastic splines have stripped out. As soon as the washer started acting up I tore into it. I can replace the rotor here for around 80 dollars, so I am not even contemplating going through the hassle of the warranty and having to pay for the service call and then be at the mercy of someone else. So this is the cheapest and easiest route by far and I will have my washer back on line in a week. In the meantime I do have a smaller unit upstairs that will suffice until this one is fixed. So will I buy another LG? I am on the fence on this one. Maybe if I get a great deal. LG has been around for many years, but they were not always called LG. What I read is they were previously GOLDSTAR.... and if memory serves me correctly, GOLDSTAR was something you would buy at the supermarket.

We bought our LG Smart Inverter fridge last year. When we were shopping, we were looking for a spacious freezer and of all fridge weve seen, its layout stood out. The height and the depth (the z-axis) is greater than others. We could stuff a lot of meat, ice cream, ice inside and since last year, we have never filled it up to its full capacity even though weve hosted large parties in our house. It also have compartments inside that are intuitively placed, not just placed there for the heck of it. My favorite is the chiller, its spacious and it can semi-freeze meat, hotdogs, chorizo, making it still fresh. We have not had any problems with the fridge. Hope we dont have to use its 10-year warranty. The only downsides with the fridge is that the egg tray can only accommodate 8 eggs and even though the doors are closed, somehow, insects are able to creep inside. I dont know how they can get inside to both the freezer and the lower compartment. I constantly remove dead insects inside. So far, fridge is performing as expected.

I was without a refrigerator for three weeks and I told them that when I bought it, I had the same issue. When their people came, they changed the compressor and it was fine. But then, the technician told me when they came out for the third time that even if they change the fluid, they cannot guarantee that the refrigerator will work. I purchased this LG LSXS26386 refrigerator new from Home Depot in June 2016. Shortly after it was delivered, the refrigerator door had to be replaced because the door in door wouldnt stay closed. Now in October 2017, I am having another issue with this refrigerator. It has begun to make a buzzing sound each time the motor is running. After calling LG, they said, through smart technology of my refrigerator, that the error code SBS-ERDS (defrosting system) will require a repair. They offered me a charge of $425 (1 year) or $338 (1 time) repair. I cant believe this! After only 17 months of usage, this piece of garbage refrigerator is already costing me more money. I actually have had good experiences with LG products and have always thought the brand is not only dependable but is just as contemporary as other much higher price. Also the features are good and innovative that seems to be getting even better all time. It was kinda wide and for being so wide I thought it couldve had more compartments. Just me but, I dont like that some foods are not separated from other because of smells and foods that are more pungent or eaten more quickly. Overall it was a good refrigerator for eight years that I owned and used it. For one thing the barrier that keeps condiments and such from falling out when the refrigerator was opened. When I cleaned it the compartments were easy to remove and easy to put back in. I only had to replace a couple of bulbs as far as any maintenance is concerned. Very dependable I would say. I sold the refrigerator after having it for the few years. I mentioned to a friend who bought it for his daughter and as far as I know she is still using it.

Our less than a year old LG Refrigerator LG LFX25974ST we bought from Best Buy (along with an LG double oven and LG dishwasher...) was a beauty when we looked at it in the store. It fit well with our theme, loved the stainless steel, specs, etc. Less than a year now, we opened the freezer to find all of our frozen food warm/melted and fridge warm. Some food spoiled, some we saved by running to the local gas station for ice.Called LG Appliance support, they said there was nothing they could do but send a technician. This happened on a Friday morning that we discovered the problem. Earliest a technician could come out is on Monday. Ugh, but okay, (by the way, ice isnt cheap) well live until Monday out of coolers, though completely not ideal and we had to go out of town Saturday, so we hoped to God the food would stay cool over the weekend if we packed it good enough. It survived, mostly. A lot of things we just threw out because we couldnt tell how long it had been warm for and didnt want to get sick.So Monday arrives, and the local company they sent out does not have the capability to fix/replace the Linear Compressor that is shot. (Our 1 yr warranty expires in 30 days, but luckily the compressor has a 10 yr warranty, some relief.) Our fear now is what if something else goes wrong on the fridge or the other two appliances we spent over $4k on at Best Buy! Thats a lot of money! We would have been better off buying a $500 refrigerator with a classic design and compressor that would last 20 years without issues. They sure saw us coming. So now, LG Appliances calls me back to say what the local tech already said-- they couldnt fix it so they need to find someone else that may or may not be able to do the work. The earliest is Thursday -- that will be 7 days without a refrigerator I paid an awful lot of money for and food wasted. They of course dont pay for any lost food, youre on your own there, but thats easily another $150-$200 worth.Though I bought the set from Best Buy - I dont blame them because its not their warranty, its LG Appliances -- who never offered an apology - not once - on any of the calls to them. I was cordial with them, thinking they would show a little more empathy for their customer -- they were not sincere or showed any signs they cared about their customer. I am so disappointed in this purchase it isnt even funny and I will never buy ANYthing LG again -- not appliances, not electronics, NADA! They should be ashamed of themselves for selling expensive JUNK.

Have a LG refrigerator that is 2 1/2 years old. Warranty for parts is ten years. It stopped working 9 days ago. Called LG and they referred me to A&E Factory Service. Called and made an appointment. Looked at Google reviews and 580 reviews and a 1.1 rating. Worst was do not let them in your house. They came out, ordered three parts, had to set another 4 hour window for an appointment. After 5 1/2 hours yesterday, he said it is working and left. Checked this morning and is still warm and now vibrates loudly. So now another five hours stuck at home tomorrow while they attempt to fix it. This company is who LG uses so when not if yours breaks but when this is who you will be dealing with. This will be a total of 15 hours waiting on them and over one hour on the phone with LG.This is an independent repair company who said almost all their calls are on LG refrigerators. LG has been a total waste of time dealing with. They truly could care less about me not having a refrigerator now for two weeks even if it is fixed tomorrow which there is ZERO chance of that happening. Talking to retailers because I am buying another refrigerator and certainly not LG. Salespeople confirm this is a common situation. Was referred to LG Executive Services who will not call me back. You have been warned. The repair company did state because of their known issues with repairs that I would get a one time free repair meaning would not have to pay for labor. If that is not a red flag.

My top load washer blew up inside after using the machine for 5 years without an issue. I had registered the product and never received notice that the company had recalled the model I purchased. When I filed my recall claim LG had all my customer information, including my purchase price and old maiden name, but refused to process my recall until I could provide my own receipt. I went through days of searching and calling Home Depot and complained three times to call representatives that its unfair I have to jump through all these hoops when they already know the selling price to reimburse me for. They stated You have to reconfirm the price and prove thats what we owe you.Ive been without a washer for three weeks now and am out a hundred dollars in laundry costs. As well as $300 in lost clothes when the washing machine blew up and caught on fire inside. LG refuses to acknowledge these costs and the time Ive spent toting laundry all over. The nearest laundromat is 20 miles from my house. Simply refunding me my purchase price is a slap in the face after all Ive been through because of this machine literally blowing up and catching fire inside. My house smelled like electrical fire for almost a full two weeks.

I purchased an LG washing machine model # WT1101CW. Ive hated it since I got it home and started using it (9 months ago). It does wash the clothes fine, but then it attempts to spin dry, and there is the problem. The machine will sense that is out of balance (even just a little bit) and it re-fill the drum with water and agitate trying to balance the load. The clothes only get tied in knots through the agitation process. When it tries to spin dry again, its even worse. By the time the machine has stopped trying to spin dry, your clothes are sopping wet and tied in knots. Average time to wash, AND SPIN DRY a load of clothes, 2 - 4 hours, and several tubs of water (not very water or energy efficient).

I purchased a $700 LG washing machine. After 1.5 years, the machine stopped working. It literally died, no display, no nothing, right in the middle of a wash. The lid was electric, therefore we could not get our clothes out of the machine (in about 12 inches of water). We had 4 different servicemen out (sent by LG) and none of them knew how to open the lid, until the 4th arrived with a 9 volt battery and got it open. Of course, the clothes were ruined. I explained the situation to LG and they actually sent me a check for $275 (the estimated cost of the clothing) and Best Buy gave me credit for the defective machine, which we used to upgrade to a better model LG washing machine. The new expensive machine continually gave the UE error message, inappropriately. It would show this even when we were cleaning the tub and nothing was in it. This got so bad eventually it started taking us a day or more to complete one load of clothes.Sooooo, I put in another call to customer service, who repeatedly told me it was out of warranty and they couldnt do anything. I asked to speak to someone in management and was transferred to executive services. They actually listened to my story, sympathized with me and sent out a repairman (who ordered parts, over $900) and fixed the machine. It now runs great! So, even though some companies like LG make a product that has serious performance issues, their customer service has done an excellent job addressing my concerns and going out of their way to make it right.

In July of 2010, I bought an LG LFX25961, 25 cubic feet. After 3 years, the ice maker broke down and started to freeze. The plastic had completed expanded inside. I had to manually operate the arm until this broke down too. I was about to replace the ice maker, when the freezer stopped working. I Called an LG certified repairman who showed me that the back was completed corroded causing the freon to leak. The compressor was burning hot. I was told that I could try to add freon but without any guarantee of the fridge lasting. I would be better off just buying a new fridge. He told me that most of his repairs deal with Samsung and LG which apparently are the brands taking over the big stores. I decided to buy a Whirlpool since it seems to have the least amount of repairs among all the brands. It could have been the case of a lemon, but some of my friends have reported issues with LG fridges. I was not aware that fridges need to be considered as disposable appliances and wont last more than 3 or 4 years. It appears to be the case however. I just bought a basic fridge with no water or ice dispenser. I can live without them. I will stay away from any LG kitchen appliances in the meantime and will not recommend them.

I will never ever buy another LG product of any kind. I purchased my washing machine almost five years ago and have been fighting with it ever since. At ok never point I discovered that the machine had actually been recalled. The machine was known to vibrate across the floor. The techs have been out numerous times but when Home Depot called they said they were only out twice, once a no power issue. They are so misinformed. I had the motherboard replaced and other issues. Now if I wash a quilt the machine stops and flashes. Then when I put it on Spin Only it shoots out water!! So I am left with soggy blankets. I am so furious and disappointed. They should have designated this a lemon four years ago. I think someone needs to instigate a class-action lawsuit against LG. Why are we putting up with this??? I plan to have my lawyer look into this. The techs are coming again on Friday. They will say the same nonsense. I will tell them it is time to sue.

I also purchased an LG LFX31925ST Refrigerator and after 3 1/2 years worth of use it broke down. I spent over 5 months going back and forth with LG on fixing it, had numerous repair visits, where they tried to fixed the compressor and sealed systems. In the end they offered my 1200$ for a buyback on the fridge but I have to buy another LG refrigerator. There is no way that I want to give LG any more of my money after what I just went through. 1200$ doesnt come anywhere close to covering the cost of a new refrigerator. Just so everyone knows they replaced the some of the tubing that used to be copper with regular metal tubing that sits in a water reservoir. This attaches to the compressor and after a couple of years it rusts and you lose all of the freon in the fridge. I cant tell you how many 1F and FF errors that I keep getting on the Fridge. LG customer service is terrible. They dont give any power to do anything. After dealing with them for almost 2 months a started a countdown on my Twitter feed to see how long it would take to get it fixed. I started go over my problems in the middle of July. I have an LG dishwasher, stove, refrig and microwave in my kitchen. The stove, I love... The frig, I like. The microwave really works well. The only thing I would like to have that it dont is a quick min button. My other unit that was the button that we used 9 times out of 10. The dishwasher on the other hand, I have hate for. First of all, it never gets my dishes clean. It takes 2 hours to run and it doesnt get any of the dishes clean in that time. (JUST AN FYI... THE ENERGY SAVERS IS NOT ENERGY SAVING FOR THE CONSUMER... MIGHT WANNA DO A LITTLE RESEARCH ON THAT ONE) BUT ANYWAY...The LG dishwasher dont even rinse the dish soap off its own door. It is by far the worst dishwasher that I have ever had and I really dont have time to do dishes, thats why I have a dishwasher. My LG dishwasher has a lovely chime and thats all its good for. I have stuck a slice of cardboard in there with my dishes to see if it would even get wet... It had a few spots on it and it was a little damp from the high humidity during the disinfecting cycle (that by the way is so hot that I have had a couple of ceramic cups crack in half from the extreme heat). Second... be careful if you have one of these LG dishwashers because I opened it and let the door fall to its resting place so I could load it and the handle landed on the top of my foot and I had a large hematoma that turned black and blue covering the entire top of my foot for weeks from having it land on my foot. I thought it was broke to be honest. The thing is Im grown and life is hard enough to deal with manufacturers taking advantage of consumers by selling them products that dont work at all. Surely they did test on these and knew that they were unable to clean dishes. The thing is I use to love LG. Ive had several of their flat screens and of course I did my entire kitchen in LG... But for them to know that they made a shoddy product and not do right by the people that supported them by replacing the metal chimney boxes they sold us instead of dishwashers makes me sad... Ive spent months of my hard earned income on their products and to be swindled like this by them makes me so sad that even though I love their other products, I wont be supporting their company brand any longer. Its a warning... If you want clean dishes, do your kitchen with another brand!

They never told me that if an agent do this manually automatically they issued $100 and don’t review my case just send $100. Be aware. Never submit your food loss claim manually. They will send you $100 check. They kept telling me that LG don’t send food losses claim. That if they sent me money is because they were nice and because I have my fridge bad for 5 days $100 was enough. My 2.5 year old LG refrigerator Model LFX 25978ST/00 stopped working--first ice machine failed, then freezer and then finally entire fridge--lost all my food. Called an appliance repair and they tried replacing a $150 motherboard they tested and determined had failed. That did not fix the problem. Conclusion was the compressor was also failed. LG guarantees its compressor for 10 years, BUT, only deals with certain repair centers, so I was already out $200 and needed to call one of only two LG-affiliated centers in my area. One quoted me 2300 for labor and said the repairs rarely last and I should just buy a new fridge. Another quoted me 300 for labor, but demanded an advance before scheduling the repair and said that ordering the part and scheduling could take up to 2-3 weeks. What is obvious, having read MANY similar accounts, is there needs to be a class action lawsuit against LG. Furthermore, there needs to be much more attention to quality control, parts have to be made to last longer and all of us are going to have to pay more for our appliances and/or those profiting at the upper echelons of these companies are going to have to share the spoils with their workers to fabricate better products. My GE fridge bought in 1980, lasted 30 years. Should have had it repaired and paid the price for higher electricity vs tossing three refrigerators in a landfill that are energy efficient but, doing nothing other than cluttering the earth.

My husband and I purchased an LG appliance package in April 2016 after I did careful research on the products that were available at the time. We got a fridge, microwave and gas range. The first problem that we had was our fridge. The compressor went out about three years in which LG fixed. Next up, about a year ago, our ice maker just stopped working. Around that same time, I heard a very loud pop in our microwave and that stopped working.I had a tech come out to take a look and it was the entire control panel which was nearly the same amount the microwave cost in order to fix it which we ended doing. I didnt want to get another brand because this microwave has a special vent that goes above my range. The tech also looked at the refrigerator ice maker and mentioned that we may need to replace the door which is a common problem apparently. Unfortunately that is too pricey for the time being so now I have no icemaker.Until yesterday, Ive been happy with my LG Gas Range... I started getting an F9 error which means the oven isnt heating correctly. Tonight I was making dinner and the oven turned on as usual and said it was preheated. I started cooking and opened the oven to check my food. Low and behold, the oven is barely hot. I check the oven temp and its 205 even though the temp says 400. Sounds like another problem that is going to cost me hundreds of dollars to repair. Ive only had this appliance package for 5 years. It is so disappointing to have a problem with everything Ive purchased from LG. Ive been making sure to tell all of my friends and family to avoid LG because of all the problems Ive had. The only appliance I have in my kitchen that hasnt had any issues is my dishwasher but thats a Bosch. Im glad I didnt get one from LG. Although the LG appliance look beautiful, please avoid them because right now Im trying to plan meals without the use of my oven until I can get it fixed. What a disappointment.

We bought a refrigerator on May 19, 2012 for $2750. In July of 2014 the compressor broke. They replaced the part but made us pay for the labor. 2 months later our refrigerator compressor broke again. We have now been 2 weeks without a unit and they are refusing to replace the product. The new compressor is on back order and they are having us wait for the part.We have 8 children, have had our freezer food ruined twice by the unit going out, and LG simply does not care. They will not return email responses and just say sorry for not getting back with you, sorry your food got ruined, sorry your compressor broke and you now have to pay another labor charge for replacing it again. They do not help. DO NOT EVER BUY an LG product. If it breaks, you are going to get the runaround until you are completely defeated and eventually just buy another brand.

Purchased LGs top of the line matching washer and dryer in Oct 2014. Since have had issues the last four months with OE code and repeated rinse cycles. VERY costly as I pay for water! I contacted LG and of course customer service, located in another country, cannot service the washer. They feel an almost four year old washer is well used! REALLY- washers average lifespan is 12 years on newer versions - older washers would go forever - 25 years plus! Very disgusted with LG customer service and more importantly their craftsmanship of poor quality! Pretty appliances, pleasing to the eye but purely JUNK! This company needs to step up to plate and take care of their customers. Buyer beware - one year new LG appliances that break cannot be fixed because LG discontinues the replacement parts!

LG counter defpth fridge LRFD21855ST: I have had my fridge since 2007. In the last 3 years, I have had an appliance repairman come out no less than 6 times to repair the water lines to the water dispenser/ice maker. This last time, it worked for 2 months so I have to call again. I trust my repairman (who hates LG btw). The cheap plastic parts they put in just keep breaking. For the money I spent on it, it should last longer than this.

Our fridge broke after 5 months. We had the repairman at our house 4 times over 6 weeks and fridge still was not fixed. Called LG customer service many times and explained that our fridge has not worked for 6 weeks and we have 2 toddlers and no one was able to help me. Many different customer service reps told me they would put it my request for a new fridge but it would be denied and they were unable to help me. After asking for a manager, I was put on hold for 45 min and then disconnected, this happened 3 times and no one called me back. We were also promised the max amount for food spoilage and after finally agreeing to give us money back for our fridge, LG told us we no longer qualified for the food reimbursement so we lost hundreds of dollars worth of food (over the course of fridge braking 4 times). This was the worst customer service I ever experienced in my life and for that reason, we will never buy an LG appliance again!

Purchased an LG side-by-side refrigerator with door-in-door option (M/N LSXS26366D, S/N 709MRFP09283). The first problem is that the software function occasionally (about every nine months or so) turns off the compressor with no alarming what-so-ever. You have to watch for water on the floor and freezer items starting to thaw. You have to remove power for 15 seconds and then turn it back on to get the system operating again. Nothing in the manual about it. I had to find that out looking at on-line complaints. The final problem is the compressor died 2 years and 10 months into operation (purchased Oct 2017, now Aug 2020). No alarm for that either. Looked the same as the controller failure, but this time resetting several times didnt work. Tragically, you cannot get the door-in-door option anywhere else. Maybe with some luck I can find a repair person that can remove the LG installed Linear Compressor with something more reliable. If the controller is what died (rest of the unit works, just no cold air), then I purchased a very expensive dump decoration.

2013 LG 3-Door French Refrigerator, out of warranty. Ice maker quit, replaced. Still no ice. Makes cubes but have to manually cycle the ice maker. Fridge only cools to 50 degrees, freezer only to 22. Cleaned coils, cleaned connectors, checked wiring. Compressor hot, fans running. No obstructions to air vents & ducts. Feel cool air blowing out. What an overpriced, short lifespan POS. I will bet that the 15 year old GE side-by-side that was replaced is still working great. LG... NEVER AGAIN.Updated on 7/21/2017: Jaime of Sears Appliance Repair came by to diagnose the fridge today 7/19/2017. 4 year old LG French 3 Door Refrigerator Model #LFX25991ST/02 TL;DR... DONT BUY LG! READ THE REVIEWS! The original issue was the ice maker would freeze cubes but not automatically harvest them. The tray would fill, cubes would freeze and I could manually run the harvest cycle but 2 trays per day (one morning and one night) was not a serviceable solution. I replaced the ice maker and same problem. After further reading, I measured the compartment temperatures and both the fridge & freezer were a bit too warm even at max cooling settings on the door. So the ice maker sensor never got a cold/frozen signal to harvest the cubes.Fridge was @ approximately 50 degrees and freezer approximately 25 degrees (will still freeze cubes) measured with a Harbor Freight digital thermometer. This was checked dozens of times by me in the weeks prior to calling for service as I tried to troubleshoot the problem by cleaning the coils, checking for obstructions to air flow, check for anything burnt, broke or otherwise defective... Removing the freezer contents and all drawers and popping off the rear cover panel we saw only a little icing on the freezer coils area. Jaime said that there should be even icing on all the coils. Mine had icing only on the top row pointing to a weak compressor. The repair would be in the $500-$1000+ range. And even if it was repaired, there was no guarantee that it would be permanent and last. Even replacing *every* part would not guarantee success as there could be a leak or obstruction in the lines inside the refrigerator walls and they are not repairable.Looks like a new fridge is in order. Jaime had five LG repairs on the schedule for today! Dont waste your hard earned money on LG! This one was 4 years and one month old to the day. BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT waste your hard earned money and valuable time on an LG. They are notorious for blown compressors and major issues requiring the totaling of the refrigerator and repurchasing a new one. This one has cost me $3030 (refrigerator) + $174 (service calls) + $150 (ice maker) for 4 years and one month of use. LGone of the biggest POS and worst appliance investments ever.

I bought my LG top loader in 2012 and was initially happy with my purchase. After about a year I noticed some rusting at the bleach dispenser but I just ignored it.Fast forward to 2017 and it has turned into a full blown big deal. It has rusted out, corroded, ready to crumble! I contacted LG and they were happy to send someone out to fix it for a flat rate of $245, to put another defective top on it that I would have to replace in a couple of years, whether I use bleach or not, because this has nothing, absolutely nothing to do with bleach! Upon doing a little online research I learned that I am not the only one having this issue, there are dozens, perhaps hundreds with the exact same problem! Yet LG swears that WE are spilling bleach and they are not liable for any repairs! But many washing machines before have had bleach spilled and did not rust like these do, so it must be a defect that LG will not fess up to. I am mad! That they are getting away with this and ripping people off!

I will always buy an LG fridge and tell everyone about it. I loved the ice maker and there was so much room for me to store all my groceries. Very clean and open. Loved the space on the doors and had enough room for all the condiments. The shelves were perfectly spaced and had enough room. There is nothing really that I did not like about it. Its also really easy to change the water filter. The water filter and fresh filter are great. Also, that it had a bottom freezer, an ice dispenser and water dispenser in the outside of the door. I like the fruit and veggie crispers and time meat and cheese drawer as well. I also really like that its stainless steel. I think the LG refrigerator, and the brand is high quality, readily available and also presented value. I think the brand is close to whats considered as luxury at a price that doesnt represent luxury. I think its a great, everyday appliance for families and single people such as myself. Stays up to date. Id personally leave what I had as is. If Im the brand Id stay that way as well. If they want to be with Meile and Viking, maybe up the luxury and modernize the look ever so sightless and charge a higher price. For me, the brand is pretty much ideal. I chose LG because I thought it was a good choice to be in the middle of tiers that include Frigidaire and some and the top which includes Viking and a few. I think the brand presents excellent value, overall.

Our LG refrigerator (LFW31925SW) has stopped cooling/freezing. After reading the MANY reviews, I am very concerned. I do not want to put $500 - $1000 in repairs (even though it is still under warranty) just for it to happen again. It appears that there is a Class Action Lawsuit about this problem but my model is one of the excluded models - Also excluded are consumers who bought LG refrigerator models of which fewer than 1,000 units were sold “or for which the service rate for No-Cooling Events was less than 1% of sales,” the settlement says.. Is there a way to get this repaired without having to do a repair again in the near future?

The machine was part of a stacked set purchased from Sears in Toronto with extended warranty in late 2012. It was very reliable until 2019 when it was 6 years and 6 months old. It then developed a leak and need a new gasket which was provided by LG under their One Price service (about $280, I recall). Last month it developed a further leak. My wife read the manual and looked for possible causes. She cleaned out the soap dispenser - this resulted in a flood when we turned the machine on.We called LG - we were no longer eligible for their full price service. They despatched a local company, European Appliance Repair. They charged $300 Canadian plus tax (extra because they needed two men for a stacked unit). My wife told them the full story - an initial leak, and then a flood. They replaced a small part. The next day there was a small leak - we were unsure if there was residue from the flood, but immediately contacted LG. We said we would wait a few days to see if the leak persisted. It became evident that it would occur on the spin cycle whenever there was a full load. We rang up and made an appointment for June 22nd. The appointment was then postponed to the 23rd in a message received on June 16.On June 19 at close of business we got a message saying our appointment was cancelled or postponed. It was impossible to get clarification till the new week began. On June 21 at 9.00 we rang and were informed that someone would come that day, and that the cancellation message was an error. However, nobody could come that day, because European Appliance Repair did not recall they had to send two people out. An appointment was made for 3 to 5 on the 23rd, but the same two repairmen appeared at 8 p.m. They announced after 35 minutes that we would need a gasket. We would have to pay for the part and additional labour. They denied that we had told them that we had a leak before my wife cleaned the soap dispenser. We have no idea whether they did not hear what my wife had said or were telling an untruth. It was clear to us that they were in a hurry on both occasions, probably overworked because of the pandemic. We noted that a gasket had been replaced the previous year. Gaskets, we were told, could never be guaranteed because customers often put sharp objects in machines. We spoke to an LG rep. on the phone. He insisted that no further charge would be levied, and that, if we did not get satisfaction, LG would give us an allowance toward a new machine. Two days later we spoke to a woman at European Appliance Repair. They proposed to treat the repair as a separate problem and charge 250 labor plus tax plus the cost of the part (plus, of course, $620 Canadian we had paid for April, 2019 and May, 2020 leaks). They had clearly heard nothing from LG.After this we spoke with three LG reps. (we had difficulty communicating with the first two). The third person with whom we spoke said that a gasket would not normally tear because a few coins had gone through the machine (we do not keep sharp objects in our pockets). Furthermore, he agreed to escalate the issue and get back to us the next day. He warned that the replacement model that succeeded ours might not be stackable with the old dryer, should we decide on replacement by LG. We do not have room to house the units in another way.Naturally enough, nobody from LG did get back to us in 24 hours about our “escalated issue. Today we decided to buy a stackable set made by another manufacturer. We are surrendering a perfectly good dryer - but there appears to be no alternative. On the basis of this experience I would not advise anybody to buy an LG washer or dryer, unless you expect to replace your machine every six years, and to be particularly careful when selecting stackable units.

Purchased new refrigerator from RC Willey 18 months ago with our new house, have had an LG frontload washer and dryer for over 7 years without an issue. Fridge had great reviews and we really liked the door-in-door. Has worked flawlessly until yesterday. Found water all over the floor (luckily we found it quickly and cleaned it up, it would have eventually ruined our laminate floors (except I have not pulled out the fridge to check underneath). Checked with the manual and went through all the troubleshooting, nothing worked. Called customer service, and they quickly set-up a case number and scheduled a technician to come and see what is wrong. Had the service company call me the next day and confirm an appointment for the following day (Good so far, right? Except all of our frozen food is thawed. Luckily my wife is a florist and she has a floral cooler that we put our refrigerated items in). Two hours later the same person called back and said that they cant do the service call, they do not do LG warranty work. They would call LG and have them schedule someone else. Wanting to make sure that no-one dropped the ball, having no fridge/freezer is a major inconvenience, I called LG service back and asked if the cancellation had been taken care of and a new service company scheduled. It had not. The customer service person was apologetic and said that they needed to get an authorized service company scheduled to come service the refrigerator, because not all companies are equipped to handle cooling issues. Why wasnt this already figured into the request? The person also let me know that the service will hopefully get set up tomorrow (Friday 1/18/2019), and I should hear back next Monday or Tuesday. They gave me another case number. So I went back to the original text response I received from LG Customer Service, it indicated an authorized repair service located 68 miles away. Except I called them and they wont do any work on LG refrigerators without a work authorization code from LG. A cooling issue? They told me they arent equipped to work on LG cooling issues anyway. So then I started looking on-line to see if this was a common problem. Way too many nightmare customer service stories for an issue that is an obvious defect. I would not choose to be without a fridge/freezer for any length of time, and would want to replace it with another product quickly. Pretty disappointed in this product that was pretty expensive.

After the repairman came yesterday (Tuesday), we have to wait ANOTHER week for pump that was broken. I have been to the laundromat this morning to the tune of $20 to wash and dry clothes, not to mention the time wasted sitting there. I am the same person who reported a problem with a Magic Chef under-the-counter microwave that gave up the ghost after 3 years. I had purchased the Magic Chef microwave oven and an LG Electric Range (LSB5682SW/SB/S) at the same time from Home Depot. Now, the LG Electric Range has a malfunction with an oven sensor. I went to an appliance parts department for a replacement, only to be told they couldnt sell me one because LG will not allow anyone other than their service people to install it. I checked online and the price is $19.35. After I removed the rear cover plate, the sensor, held on with two screws, took me a couple of minutes to remove. My complaint is twofold. First, what right does LG have telling the home handyman he cant fix his own property after a warranty runs out? Second, why do these more expensive items fall apart shortly after the warranty expires? Mostly, why arent these companies held responsible until someone with some authority gets involved? After posting this rant, there is a box to tick asking if I want an attorney to contact me about my complaint. I thank Consumer Affairs for offering me that option, but it would be cheaper to buy a new appliance and thats the problem. LG, Magic Chef, and other appliance companies know this and are counting on it. New technology? Another money-maker for the greedy companies. The one thing I am glad I didnt do was to purchase the two-year extended warranty. Both appliances failed a few days after the warranty expired. Consumer, beware.
