Dishwasher LG LDF7561 - Every time we run the dishwasher it produces strong asphalt like smell which is coming from black insulation. LG warranty refuses to do anything about it stating even though it smells there is nothing we can do. It is not the first time we have problems with LG products. We had countless problems with the expensive French door LG refrigerator. Stay away from LG products and the worst warranty service!!!

Update : To their credit LG responded by sending out service technicians twice to resolve the problem, both gentlemen were very professional, timely and worked to resolve the issue. On the first visit the circulating fan motor was changed - but this unfortunately did not resolve the issue. On the second visit while disconnecting and reconnecting the wiring at the back of the oven, the problem was resolved (no parts changed). The oven works fine now and the issue is resolved.I would have given this an even higher star rating - except during the repair process it was confirmed that there really are no control board parts available for this particular oven (only newer models of it) - so if the controller board ever goes wrong I will be out of luck.

We bought a new LG Washing Machine from Lowes in March 2015. We have already had problems with the machine. Now we are getting the message E6 which means we have a clutch problem. We have had to wait a week for the service call. Very disappointed with Lowes and LG.Updated on 08/14/2015: It seems as if we are nothing to Lowes or LG. The repairman showed up Tuesday and now has to order parts. These parts are a clutch and PC board. Lowes and LG has no idea when the repair company will receive the parts. We have now been without a washing machine for over 2 weeks. I will not buy another LG product nor do business at Lowes unless it is an emergency. Thank God we do have a 5 year warranty on the washer and dryer.

I have several LG appliances and TVs. Never a problem until my French door refrigerator stopped working. 3 certified LG repairmen came out replacing the compressor and it still does not work. Day 26, fridge held hostage. Now I’m being told I have to wait another 8 days before someone comes out again. That’s 34 days with no refrigerator. My extended warranty is 5 years, and states reimbursement after 3 failed repairs. They now want to run external lines on the back wall and drilling through the sealed wall. Totally unacceptable. Waiting 8 days between technician visits is a wait them out plan that seems to be working. Will never buy another LG! Will spread the word to everyone.

There are so many things we dislike about this appliance. 1. Its very difficult to judge the temperature of the cooktop. The burner turns on and off and the heat is not consistent while cooking. 2. Extremely difficult to keep it clean. It does not clean up well even though people say it does. Even after wiping the surface clean it still has marks or rings on it. 3. When we cook food in the oven it does not cook evenly. When we make a pizza it looks done. When we take it out and begin eating it I discover parts of the pizza that are still cold. Its very odd. The edges can look crispy but parts are still uncooked. 4. Sometimes NEW does not mean better. The old style gas ranges are so much better than these new style appliances. 5. Numbers on the dials are very difficult to read. Depending on the light in your kitchen you may have trouble even reading whether you have your dial set on 3 or 8, etc. The light gray print on the knobs is not contrasting enough to be easy to see. Again, an old fashioned white dial with black letters is a win win in my book.Advice - DO NOT BUY THIS or any LG appliance - we have the microwave and the refrigerator too and dont like those either.

Our washer/dryer set (WM2016) was purchased from Sears about 4 years ago. My wife has always complained about the stench in the tub. Then last week, she was complaining about a smell (different). The next night, I came home from work and she said it was smelling again. When I got to the laundry room, the smoke alarm started sounding and I could not see the washer. After getting in and shutting it off, the drum was on fire which was quickly extinguished. I pulled the washer out and unplugged it. At that point, I needed to remove the top to make sure the fire was out, which it was. The next morning, I took the machine apart to see what happened to our 4-year-old washer. It seems that LG made a part inside of the plastic drum that is made from aluminum that was not treated by any means. It corroded, causing the drum to contact the outer drum. Had we not been home, we could have lost everything. I will not purchase anything LG produces from here out. When contacted, they could care less as we have your money!

Even though we always have problems with the musty smell (while leaving the washing machine door open, emptying drain monthly, cleaning filter monthly, using bleach Time Cycle monthly up until the machine was 16 months old), the last 3 months we have had this random brown residue that streaks our clothes, stains our clothes and we cannot get it out.LG customer service has not been helpful, stating we should have called earlier with our complaints. I had to beg for a supervisor, who said he would try to get it covered to be seen by a technician by sending our complaint to a consultant. We are in the process of doing that currently. I am very disappointed with this machine from the get go.

I purchased a double door with bottom freezer, an LG refrigerator model LFD22860. One year after purchase, the cover on the electronic control started to melt (was covered under warranty). Two years later, the right side door seal ripped, and I called the warranty service line. I was told it’s the first time they hear of this problem, and that my warranty was over anyway. I had it fixed by a local repair company at $189.71 for a seal. Immediately within 24 hours, the door was rubbing with other side and started to get damaged. I called the service company to verify if it’s an alignment issue, but the doors are fixed on dowel pins and cannot be aligned! The only thing we could do is to put Vaseline to the doors often (RIDICULOUS). Anyway, even with Vaseline both sides, it ripped within a few months (I wasn’t about to pay $400 for seals!). It doesnt end here. Upon closer inspection, we noticed approximately ten cracks everywhere inside the fridge. This absolutely DISGUSTED me. We paid $2200 for this pile of junk, thinking it would last us for some time. Im fed up of big name companies getting away with cheap products sold in todays market. All they could tell me was that my warranty was over and that they cant do anything about it. Since then, I have never bought another product from them, and never will including my family & friends.

We have an LG TV and it was a decent TV so when we decided to buy a new refrigerator, we looked at Costco and decided that LG was what we wanted to go with. I purchased it with Amazon and purchasing from them is always good so I had no problems there. But the quality of the refrigerator itself is bad. It was faulty and broken. I returned it immediately. I did not wanna risk the same thing because the repair guy who came out from A&E said that even though that wasn’t the problem with most LG refrigerators, the compression unit was definitely something that went out within the first 18 months. The repair guy would actually recommend GE over LG any day of the week. And customer service was terrible as well. I had several issues, especially since the LG product leaked water uncontrollably out of the ice compartment. There was nothing that we were pushing either. It was just dripping. We ended up having some water damage to our wood floors and Im still trying to get LG to pay for that. It’s been over a month.

This was without any diagnosis. Exactly one year later the burner gave out again. After calling their customer service and talking with technician, they offered another service call and replacement for $250.00. Their reason there is only 90 days guarantee on the parts. Very unfriendly and not willing to accept the an oven and the part that is replaced by them should last longer than one year. They offered I can purchase their warranty for $450.00 and the warranty lasts for one year. It is like their only reason is to ask for more money from consumers without making sure they are happy with the product.

If you look at my original review of 10/3/19 and the companys final reply of 10/8/19 it appeared that LG intended to do nothing more than leave us holding the bag as it were. However, without further contacting us at all, LG contacted a nearby service center and sent a new door to them and arranged for our door to be replaced AT LGS EXPENSE. The service man said the old door was going to the dump, so I guess LG didnt need to trust but verify that it was a warranty issue after all. They finally decided to do the right thing. Our refrigerator again looks the way it should, but we should not have had to jump through so many hoops to get this corrected. I stand by my original review. I will not purchase LG in the future.

Update on 10/09/2020: This is a follow-up to the review I posted on April 5, 2020 and still has not been resolved. LG replied to have this issue repaired but due to COVID we were not going to allow a mechanic at the time to come into the house. LG has since not responded.Original Review: Like other reviewers, the same front left element of my induction range stopped heating. We are having the same problem and the range has barely been used and was purchased at the end of February 2019 but not installed and started using until May 2019. I have also tried unplugging the unit and plugging it back in but that did not help. We paid over $2,000 and the limited one-year warranty expired which is disappointing for how expensive this unit is. Very disappointed in the quality of this unit and we purchased several other LG appliances unfortunately.

Update 08/21/2019:After posting this review LG was quick to respond with to a private exchange to stand behind their product. We had several exchanges concluding with me sending them the details and invoice from the LG certified repair company we had used to assess the unit. Unfortunately after this exchange we have received no further communication from LG. They had stated they would stand behind the quality of their product however after more than 2 weeks of silence and a not functioning refrigerator I am losing confidence. I am disappointed that they set the expectation that they would help and then have failed to respond. Not only because I would like their help but I need to decide if I need to buy a new refrigerator. Ironically the short term solve has been to use a 20 year old Amana unit in the garage which has never needed any repairs. Maybe we should go back to a more reliable brand. Original review:We bought an LG refrigerator when we purchased a new home. 5 year and 2 months later the board has gone out, the fan motor isnt working, and our repair man says the defrost is also not working. To fix it will cost more than $1000 with parts and labor. Very disappointed to be needing a new unit after just 5 years.

Purchased the LG Direct drive dishwasher. Stainless steel with all the bells and whistles. 1 year after purchase, I received an error code on the machine, stating its retaining water/moisture. Called LG Customer service provider. They walked me through the steps to fix this issue. Two weeks after this issue the machine made some very loud noises, along with showing another code. This time it was the motor that had gone out on it. I was told I needed to send receipt, as I refused to pay for service. Keep in mind it had water issues already. So I sent the receipt, and they fought me, along with denying my claim. It didnt stop there. I finally got someone out here from LG to fix for free, after a lot of time on the phone, and no use of dishwasher for 2 weeks. The repair man came out. He was very rude. Along with tipping dishwasher and spilling water all over new floor.Well my problems did not stop there. Its only been 2 weeks since fixed, and its showing the error code for water /moisture again. Little did we know the first error code was leaking water under my new floor. Ive called LG Customer service again and got the run around. The service rep also told me this is a known fact about the machine, and there have been issues with it. Its been 3 days and no one has reached out. But heres the worst part of all this. My floor has now been tore up, and restoration has come out due to the known issues, and all the water that has leaked out under my floor. My homeowners now has to get rid of water and replace the whole floor. My machine still sits in kitchen broke and not usable. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE THIS UNIT.

I purchased an LG Refrigerator Door-in-Door in December 2015. On September 14, 2014 I woke up to water all over my kitchen floor due to ice melted in freezer. First thing was to use troubleshooting guide. Did all resets suggested with no results. Called LG and went through all that again with them. Was told to reset and wait 24 hrs then check and call if not cooling. Needless to say this did not work. I lost a freezer and refrigerator full of food. All spoiled. Following Saturday a repairman came out and said that compressor was gone. They ordered a compressor on September 22, 2016. Today is Oct. 10, 2016 and I still have no resolution.I have made many calls both to LG and the place supposedly responsible for repair with no satisfaction. I have never encountered such poor customer service in my life. I just walked around my home and realized that I have 3 LG TVs, a Blu Ray, refrigerator, and microwave. Therefore it is obvious I have spent a lot of money on LG products. I now see that the company does not stand behind its products so I will not purchase any more of their merchandise. As I looked through the reviews I see that I am not alone. LG MUST NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CONSUMERS. So as customers we need to let them know that there is no excuse for such poor workmanship or service.

I purchased a LG French Door Refrigerator through Costco in December of 2015. The refrigerator completely stopped working, it has a completely closed system so very hard to see anything. Called for help on March 11th, 2017, 15 months after purchase and still in two year warranty period. After much BS they finally agreed I was still under warranty and sent out a service request. I live in a county of 500,000 people. They had ONE service person for this entire area. That person called late that night to say they were not doing this anymore, could I call LG? I did, I am now waiting for someone from out of this area to come work on Refrig. Its been 5 days, no call. Will call Costco tomorrow and see what happens next. Updated on 08/12/2019: I posted a review of LG refrigerator here a while ago. I described how shortly after the warranty ended, it needed a circuit board replaced and every shelf cracked. LG responded to me claiming this was unusual and they wanted to take care of it. They asked me for more and more information, model, serial number, date of purchase, photos, etc. This went on for several weeks. Finally they responded that the warranty was over and they owed me nothing. But they already knew this since my review already mentioned that. So the only reason they responded must be to give others the impression that they stood behind the products when they actually didnt. It was rubbing salt into a wound. I thought readers should know. And LG, dont bother responding. I wont fall for it again.Original Review: I think all refrigerators today are junk and this one is no exception. Shortly after the warranty expired, it needed over $200 in repairs (circuit board). It has a top freezer and bottom fridge. When you put your hand over the space between them, you feel the cold air escaping. Most of the poorly constructed shelves have cracked but I have been told this is standard on any brand of fridge. The shelves cost almost as much as a new fridge.

I bought a two drawer LG refrigerator last July and two days ago the freezer stopped freezing and the fridge stopped cooling. I called LG and they said that the earliest a technician could come out to look at it was in 4 days. I kept my cool and told the lady that this is not my problem and that she needed to let me know when the technician would be at my house. We talked for an hour, she kept telling me that the repair persons dont work on the weekend and I explained to her that this is not acceptable and to please call me back to let me know when someone would be at my house to fix the fridge which by the way is under warranty. She hasnt called back. I had to throw out the contents of the freezer and the fridge except for the ketchup.Apparently they have a process to refund damage or soiled goods but I have yet to receive the email from them to fill it out and send it in. I suggested that she call Lowes and have them send me a new fridge as I know they keep inventory in their stores. She seemed confused when I said this and I asked her where she was located. She said in the Philippines. I kept conversing with her and asked her what she would do if it was her family that didnt have a fridge to cool food products. She didnt seem to have an answer. First, I like the fridge. Its attractive and when it works, it works great. However, the sealed refrigerant system, isnt. The week after the 1 year warranty ended, it stopped getting cold. Fine. Repair guy comes and refills refrigerant (didnt both checking for leaks or question how a sealed system lost its refrigerant). As expected, a few months later it dies again. He comes back and refills it, AND finds a leak which he repairs and replaces the compressor. Fast forward another year. Fridge dies again, and the saga with LG Customer support begins. I call. Explain the situation. The nice gentleman takes my info, says hes going to request a warranty extension to cover it. Then I wait. And wait. And wait.I call back two weeks later to inquire as to whats going on. Evidently he had misfiled it, so they had to start over. New guy takes the same info, insists Ill have to pay for repairs, but (after I demanded) said hed put in a request, but that I should get a call back 72 hours later. I give it a week and call back. Person I talk to says its still not decided and should get a call back Thursday (that was a Monday). Another week... I call the following Monday. Its now been over a month since I first called. Im told that my request for warranty coverage was denied, and after I asked, he tells me that it was decided last Thursday. At this point, I become unhinged and unload on the poor call center guy (I feel bad about this part) about how disrespectful it is that they cant be bothered to inform me of the status at ANY point along the way, nor follow up like they say theyre going to, and demanded to know what they were going to do about making this right. He gets his supervisor to override the decision and Im getting coverage finally. Great. They send the work order to a repair place in Los Angeles (Im up near Santa Barbara) and tell me that theyll be there the next day between 8-12. Next day, no show. Maybe I misheard him so I wait another day. No show. So I call back to ask whats going on.Evidently, the appointment was declined. So nice of them to let me know before I took time off work to wait for the guy. Fine... When can I get another one? to which they provide me with a phone number for the repair place (Repair place has 1 star on Yelp with 30 reviews btw, so you know Im expecting greatness... #sarcasm).I call repair place for the appointment, and they tell me the code they have from LG to cover the repair is no good, and Ill need to show the original purchase receipt. I understand having to show the receipt, except that LG knows from our history with them that Im the original owner. Ok fine, Ill dig that out, but what about the authorization code? They dont seem to be able to explain who is supposed to get that squared away. On the plus side, the repair guy did show up for the second appointment and determined that the compressor was shot. Now we have to wait AGAIN for LG to decide whether to replace it or the entire unit. For comparisons sake, heres how this SHOULD have gone down: 1. I call them. Tell them the history (which they already have) and explain the current situation. 2. They apologize profusely for the trouble, and the several fridges full of food Ive lost, and promise to get someone out ASAP. 3. Within 2 days, a repair guy shows up, determines its a similar/related problem. 4. LG offers to replace the entire fridge since this one is a lemon.

Model LRE3023ST the bottom drawer pull out is difficult and dangerous to your hands. You can easily be badly hurt when trying to pull out the bottom drawer to clean underneath the stove or if something falls behind. This bottom drawer is so difficult to pull out, it should NEVER EVER be used. This model should be recalled.

I have the smell issues with my LG front-loading washer and Im sure, after seeing the pictures from another case, I will be dismantling my machine this weekend (with pictures inside and out including the moldy drawer that is supposed to clean my clothing) to get rid of black mold that is most definitely making my family and me sick. I will be using extreme care to sanitize the unit and my home from this negligent company that cares nothing for its grievous mistakes that so many have had to endure. Shame on you, LG for being so big and creating a problem you clearly knew about and do nothing for the customers who made you who you are! I hope that some lawyer who owns one will see this forum and take you on. Ill be glad to display my findings with 1080p HQ video and 18 gig pictures with a bag full of what I find growing in my $2,000 fungus-growing washer that you built. P.S. I forgot to mention the fact that I have to flip the breaker each and every time I wash a load of clothes for my washer to power up! Thanks for nothing, grrr!

The LG side-by-side refrigerator with ice and water dispenser is only three years old, but major rust has developed on the door beneath the ice and water dispenser insert. The control panel has had to be replaced once. The ice bucket freezes up regularly and so the ice dispenser wont work (it has been replaced twice) and the ice cover has broken and been replaced. The extended warranty from Sears wont cover the rusting problem and LG refuses to do anything saying that the rust is considered cosmetic. We bought this unit because of its large capacity. However, with multiple repairs under the warranty and the rust, we regret the decision.

Our LG bottom freezers ice machine works sporadically. It was not cooling properly, so we called our extended warranty representative. A technician was sent. He said he couldnt fix it, left and we heard nothing from him or the company. We called the warranty company again and they apologized, sent another companys technician, said he found what was wrong but had to order parts. This means we had up to a week to receive the part. In the meantime, we had to throw away all the food in the fridge and freezer. We were partially reimbursed for food loss (around $300.00 for food). It hardly covers the food replacement plus the times we had to eat out as a family because we had no place for perishable items. The parts finally arrived (motherboard and defroster). There was an error made in the part ordered and we were told that they would have to order the correct one (it was part of the defroster system). I was told that in the meantime, we should turn the unit off at night and turn it back on in the morning until the part arrived. YOURE KIDDING ME! I said. He was very serious. This technician was abrasive and spent more time defending himself, and had little empathy for our circumstance. It was especially frustrating for me because I had to stay behind to wait for the technician while my family left for a 2-day family trip. The part arrived and it was installed. Within a week, the fridge would not cool again and the ice maker stopped working. We had to schedule another technician to come look at it. It took several days. The food went bad and we had to get rid of everything once more (and more eating out!). The next technician, different company, looked at it and said the compressor was broken and that we had a freon leak. Said he couldnt do much because an LG technician had to look at it to verify, plus he did not have the parts and may have to be ordered. This means that the LG technician may show up, check to see what is wrong and THEN order more parts. Im looking at another two weeks before anything happens. All this has happened over the last month and a half (since early May). The fridge is only 1.5 years old. Weve been talking to the service company all this time and they keep saying they are sorry, but they have to go through their procedures. They cant seem to realize how uncomfortable it is as a family to go without a refrigerator. I called LG and they asked me to have the warranty company call them so they can find a resolution. Im so sure. How am I supposed to get them to call? I have not called the store where I bought it from - Hope Depot. Maybe I should and start looking at a small claims court. Ive never done it though. All I can say is that the product is inferior and customer service has been unsympathetic and incapable of fixing our refrigerator. Theyve probably spent more money sending us technicians and probably should have replaced from the start. Needless to say, we are very unhappy at this point.

Im not too happy with my LG refrigerator after looking into a lot of information and a lot of reviews. Apparently, theres been a lot of problems with their compressors. And it doesnt seem like LG is proactive about going and fixing them because I finally had a problem with my compressor this year. The unit wasnt getting cold at all and we had noticed periodically where it felt like it wasnt cooling enough. We just chalked it up in the air whether it was too hot of a day or too cold of a day, and maybe we didnt have that, we had the house too hot and left it at that. And then, all of a sudden, within three days, it just stopped working.Trying to get LG to come out and fix the issue was like pulling teeth. Apparently though, LG was aware of what the issue was. They didnt give me any problems as far as getting it fixed. But there was a lot of miscommunication internally at LG because they gave me one company that they were gonna have fix the situation, and when I finally contacted them because I hadnt heard from them, they said, We dont work with LG anymore, and I had to call LG and tell them what the company said. So, we were gonna use this other company. It was the same thing. LG gave me the information for that company and I called them immediately. They said some of the same thing. Then finally, the third company was the one that still worked with LG. And then, that had taken almost two weeks to get my refrigerator fixed. At this point, it seems to be running properly. It seems to be making a little bit of noise. So, Im gonna contact the repair people and ask them to come check it out because it makes humming noise that it didnt make before.I have mentioned it to other people and as good friends of mine, they just bought the same refrigerator, and they experienced a similar problem to what we had. And we were told initially, Oh, its probably its seal, it didnt close right. But that was the way our problem started. And six months later, all of a sudden, the refrigerator went bad. But its a known problem with LG. My friends now are keeping a close eye on it.

I really liked the looks of this dishwasher until I got it home. My biggest mistake was not returning it immediately. The third rack was a pain in the neck because you could not fit glasses in the middle rack. I removed it to solve that problem. The collapsing racks have proven to be a nightmare. They will not lock in and they keep collapsing when you load dishes and cups into the washer. They have proven to be a great disappointment. Sometimes you have to fight the soap dispenser to get it to close. Next time I am going back with Maytag.

I recently purchased all new LG appliances in the new black stainless. Love the door in door fridge, enjoy the stove/oven and microwave, but the dishwasher is impossible. The rack design for glasses will not hold any size glass. Glasses continually fall and turn over during cleaning. Often the very top new utensil basket gets caught on the glasses and the racks will not close without being pushed aggressively. The bottom rack has collapsible sections that fall down without force and plates become scattered and stuck together during the clean cycle. The overall cleaning, look and quietness of the dishwasher is good. BUT you will become easily frustrated with the basket configuration. Wish I could return this impossible appliance!!!

I will never...I repeat, NEVER buy any LG appliance again. The top-loading HE washer I bought 2 years ago (Model WT4870C) has been nothing but a disappointment. To call it a piece of junk would be an insult to junk. And LG customer service is terrible! Dont think you will get any sympathy or help from the company. Theyve got your money, and thats all they care about. Apparently, quality means nothing to them. First of all, the area around the bleach dispenser rusted. Do you want rust on your clothes? Me either. Thats why I called customer service. Instead of agreement that rust in a washing machine is not acceptable, I was told, If liquid gets on the metal, it can rust. Really? Then why does it say to put liquid bleach there (in the dispenser!) if no liquid is supposed to touch it? And besides, in their opinion, the rust is a cosmetic issue. When I complained that rust can ruin clothes, they told me that I could send them my damaged clothes, and they would review them, and possibly issue some compensation FOR THE CLOTHES! Now, only 2 years into owning this washer, it breaks! I cannot use it at all! It was running when suddenly a terrible noise was heard coming from it (not the normal terrible noises it usually makes), and the tub could not stop. Natural frictional force caused it to finally come to a stop. But now it cannot spin at all. Even though the washer displays proudly on the front a 10-year warranty, that only covers the motor. And guess what: You have to pay for a technician to come out to determine whether it is the motor or not. So you are out a service charge no matter what! (Oh, and even if it is the motor, you still have to pay labor charges out of pocket.) (FYI: The photo attached shows the dispenser after I removed the plastic surround.)

We purchased a washer and dryer set in December. The week of June 22nd I called because the washer stopped working. The technician was sent out on June 26th and it was determined that 5 parts must be replaced because it was defective. They were suppose to be replaced on June 29th and the technician called to tell me the parts didnt arrive over the weekend and he would hopefully call me to come back out on July 1st. It is now July 14th and we STILL do not have a washer! I paid for a BRAND new washer, not a defective one. This is UNACCEPTABLE that this is taking this long! I have called the 1-800 number several times and every time, Im told that it should be here tomorrow. I am having to go pay to wash my clothes at a laundromat. I am tired of the run around! I want this taken care of and I want it explained to me how a brand new product that is currently still being sold can take this long to be fixed! Your product and your customer service has much to be desired!

I bought an LG French door refrigerator 3 years ago and I wish I would have seen these reviews back then. Please DO NOT purchase an LG refrigerator! Listen to the people who wrote the bad reviews and do your homework. We all have the same reoccurring problem. The compressors fail by the most 3 years. Mine failed after 3 years and then again after 2 months. Twice in two months I lost my food. The first time in January of 2020 and then again in April 2020. They compensated me the first time for food loss but the second time they denied me because they said 12 months have to go by before they can compensate me again. Whoever thought this would happen again within 2 months. This time I lost more food cause I made sure I had enough food to last me for 3 weeks since we are in quarantine. It is very stressful during these times to try to stay safe while shopping. I had to wait one week for a repair man to come and worry about us staying safe and distant when he was repairing. I lost all my food and had to purchase a limit amount of food to fit in my cooler with ice. This imposed a tremendous inconvenience since I had to shop at least three times that week. I called customer service and all they could say was sorry about that maam. Are they really sorry? This was not my fault but a product failure and they should be responsible to accommodate their customers with their needs. I paid $4,000 for this fridge and I did not expect this to happen so soon. This must happen quite often so they implemented a rule about compensating after twelve months. Be careful. Life is not all Good with LG.

I bought my refrigerator (LG Refrigerator LFXC24726S/02 MODEL#502krpv10848) 8/17/2015 at Plessers in Babylon. I also purchased the extended warranty. Since I purchased the unit there was a problem with the motherboard computer within the year because it was covered under the manufacturers warranty. July 21, 2018 my refrigerator stopped working and I called the warranty and they sent Mr. Appliance out on 7/26/18. The first visit the repairman Rob said it was a Freon leak and they had to come back to determine where the leak was coming from. I had to reschedule and they came back on 8/1/18. The repairman Bob, said that it was the compressor that had to be ordered directly from LG. He said it could take awhile. I called last yesterday afternoon after repairman had left and every time I called it was a picked up and then a hang up all afternoon. I spoke with LG today and was hung up on. I have been without a refrigerator for almost 2 weeks and I have 3 teenagers with no fridge. We are living out of coolers! I have called LG, NEW LEAF (warranty company), Mr. Appliance, and the retailer Plessers. Everyone keeps passing the buck and doesnt take responsibility. They all seem to feel that its normal to be without a refrigerator for 2 weeks plus! I was told by Mr. Appliance it could take a couple of weeks to get the compressor and then I have to call for another appointment to have it installed. This is totally unacceptable! I want a loaner or a new refrigerator! I will NEVER buy from PLESSERS or an LG appliance again.

Recently, our DLG6988s dryer (part of a combo) stopped heating. Everything seemed to be working, but no heat! We called the point of purchase (POP) company. We had purchased a 4-year extended warranty program with them. The company provided a work order for repair. The repair diagnosis, full replacement as there had been a fire because the lint was not leaving the dryer but instead, getting in around the drum and the harness was damaged. There was no lint in the tube, none in the lint catch area. It was around the drum instead. No repair could be done. According to the repairman, who has seen this before, this is apparently is a problem with LG gas dryers of this model, which they no longer make, and a report was sent to LG.LG informed us that since we had purchased an extended warranty, the POP company would look after us. We went back to the POP company and their extended warranty department told us that the dryer credit would be prorated and we would be given in-store credit to spend on a new dryer. We looked at dryers and to purchase a comparable dryer to the one we have now. The total cost, including extended warranty, is now another $706.00 over and above the credit we were given. We contacted LG regarding the dryer and the customer service rep told us they would not replace it since the LG warranty was up. The POP company will not replace it, but would give us the credit, take it or leave it.We did not cause the fire. We cleaned our machine diligently of lint. There was no lint anywhere other than in the drum area. They are removing the dryer tomorrow, however, I would like to prove to LG that this defect is their responsibility and the dryer, which is less than 5 years old, should be replaced. The downside would be it would be another LG product. We will never buy another LG product and I urge you to do the same. Because of the offshore parts problem with LG, any repairs that can be made can take more than 5 weeks and their customer service is unsatisfactory to put it mildly. Do your homework before purchasing anything from this company!

I bought a new LG top load washer in March 2013. In a months time, the washer started constantly getting an error message UE. After taking 2-4 hrs to wash a load, because of this error, I called LG. A repairman was sent to my house within 2 days. He said that the computer panel had to be replaced, that this had been a problem with many of these washing machines. He came out about 10 days later, and he replaced the computer piece. It worked for a few months, and the same thing started happening. It is now September, and I had to go out and buy a brand new washing machine. The guy that sold us the new machine, told us that these computer chips burn whenever there is a power surge (we had several lightning storms recently). He showed us how the panel lights up and will eventually burn out. He also said, that it was a good thing it did not start a fire! Needless to say, I will never buy an LG product again! I bought an LG True Steam Balance washer and dryer 2 years ago. Without a doubt, my 30 year old agitator washer and dryer in our house up north function much better. I purchased on the strength of Consumer Reports recommendation and because I thought the steam option would be useful. Consumer Reports really blew this one or else the report was written by some young person who considers wrinkles a fashion statement.EVERYTHING and I include towels, comes out so wrinkled that it requires touching up with an iron. I cannot WAIT to get rid of this washer and dryer; it makes life harder, not easier. I cant fault the cleaning; the clothes are cleaned just fine, but I believe that the washer spins with such ferocity that wrinkles are set into the clothes and no amount of tumbling, or taking them out of the dryer while damp, will eradicate the wrinkles.

They scheduled an appointment that a part had to be ordered so the date had to be changed. 10 days later, the part was put in my washer. It still doesnt work right. I have had 3 service calls on it. Everyone tells me my washer has so many problems dont bother getting it fixed. I have tried to talk to someone at LG to be transferred from one dept. to the next to emailing. The website wont let me make a complaint. I was sent a survey and did let them know my washer still doesnt work and Im very dissatisfied with LG. LG model no. WT4870CW dropped off this morning brand new. After delivery, delivery guy set up and did the programmed test run. This checks if water is supplied, if it vibrates excessively or drains. All looked fine until I did a small load of laundry which came out unclean. Then on second try, I noticed tub basin filled up all the way to the top and agitator didnt work properly. I even made comment that it was so quiet...well when agitator is not doing its job, its super quiet. After trying different cycles and settings and after motor started to smell like it was burning rubber, I called home depot. The sales man gave me a lesson in how much detergent to put in, reasons why clothes arent getting clean, and told me to unplug it, wait 3 minutes, then try again. After explaining Im 30 and know how to do laundry, I explained again about water filling up in wash cycle and agitator not working. He said he would call LG and have a new one out to us IN A WEEK. After already waiting a week and half for first new washer, still blows my mind when a sales person does not apologize for the inconvenience or broken machine THEY sold.Im under no impression LG will stop making worthless machines for a ton of money, but listen up all the peeps in customer service, KINDNESS GOES A LONG WAY. SAY YOURE SORRY. DONT MAKE EXCUSES OR GET DEFENSIVE. Does the machine not working say something about you? Or is it your ego that needs to blame the customer by default? Some customers are rude but others are just like you trying to do their best to figure out a solution to the small and big obstacles they face. If you cant at least say sorry or be respectful...think about finding another job that fits you better. LG fail and Home Depot fail. Pretty disappointed.

Bought 11/18/12, this will be my third repair. The first was the ice-maker which was replaced at no charge - that was 11/14 - 2 years after purchase. The second was the fan which was making such a loud noise that I could hear it in the other room. That was repaired 2/15 and I had to pay for it. Now the fan did the same thing - a horrendous noise, and now my refrigerator button reads ER and my freezer, RF. I spoke with LG Cust. I waited on the line for 15 minutes before anyone picked up. She told me if I faxed her my receipt, they would pay for the repair. My telling her that this refrigerator was 2 years 8 months old made no difference. When I faxed over the receipt, I called them to make sure they had it and someone else set up an appointment, after much trying - since it was the Thursday before July 4th, for repair on Tuesday July 7. I received a phone call today that the company cant make it on Tuesday, now its Thursday. I have lost most of my food and I have had it. This product is garbage and no one should sell it. I will tell EVERYONE I know never to buy anything that is LG.

I bought an electric double oven, convection on bottom, glass top. Model is LDE 4415,4413 or 4411. Anyway, I like to cook. This oven is horrible. It takes 30 minutes to boil water!! I have never had such a horrible oven to cook on. Burners are impossible to heat up, when they eventually heat up its impossible to turn them down. You cant control the temperature. Another thing I think is really odd is the oven light. My model has an 2 ovens with the convection oven on the bottom. It seems odd to me that when the oven light is on it is on in both ovens, not a big deal, just seems light a cheap design. Do not buy this product, unless you dont like to cook.

We bought the LG LMXS30776S refrigerator in early 2017 and it was working okay (it did make louder than expected noises most of its short life) until December 15, 2019 when we woke up one morning to a trail of water on the floor and all of our food ruined. We paid for someone to come out to tell us that it was a dead compressor and to contact LG for a replacement part.An LG tech came out and replaced the compressor, and while the freezer worked, the fridge portion remained at room temperature. He came back the next day to fix it again, but the fridge did not get below 42 degrees. An LG contracted appliance repair company then came out and determined that new parts (fridge evaporator and another compressor) were required. They returned a week later and replaced the compressor again along with the fridge evaporator, but after they left nothing worked at all.The LG tech came out again and got fridge half-working again (still does not go below 42), but the freezer is still not functioning. LG tech now says we can get a new fridge due to multiple visits, but the LG customer service says their tech needs to say it is not repairable and why and the tech is not willing to make that call for us. We have now initiated the replacement request process three times (each time takes 3-5 days) the first two times weve waited a week only to find out they messed up the paperwork and had to start again. Weve been without a fully functioning fridge/freezer for over 6 weeks. Weve wasted hundreds of dollars on food that got spoiled. The LG refrigerator is an utter disappointment, as is their customer service.

I purchased my LG washer in January of this year and I couldnt be more disappointed! Im constantly getting the UE (unbalanced) code when it tries to spin so then it fills back up with water and tries to automatically rebalance itself - which never works - and what a huge waste of water!!! I have to stand over my washer and constantly rearrange my clothes numerous times until it works and sometimes it doesnt if the load is small. Actually you cant even do a small load in this machine due to this problem. I end up going old school and wringing out my clothes by hand! I so wish I had my old washer back as this is awful. I wouldnt recommend this washer to anyone.

I have only owned it for two years but Im very happy... it was a gift so I did not have an opportunity to shop for it. But I believe in the integrity of the LG brand over some of the other offerings. I have been happy with the design of the stainless steel unit and how it blends in to my kitchen with other stainless steel appliances. I enjoyed the design of the refrigerator freezer and its many compliments. The deli drawer perfect for small items like yogurt containers and cheese and deli. Had to rearrange the shelving to allow for taller items like milk, juice, ice tea etc. though. I would also improve the freezer compartments with additional shelving.

We purchased a new LG French Door refrigerator on 02/09/2017 from RC Willy in Rocklin, California. Since that time, we have had a new compressor replaced twice and are now waiting for another service call. During our last compressor replacement on 02/03/2020, the service technician asked us why are you having this replaced since its just going to break again? He said this is a continuing problem and will never be reliable/fixed. Well, its happened again and we are now waiting for another service appointment. Interesting, though, that when my husband mentioned to the LG service representative what our last service technician had said, we now have a different company coming and we live in a smaller community. When we called the LG phone number at 800/243-000, they stressed the Covid-19 situation and keeping their employees safe. What about their customers who are staying home with now rotted food? Because of the three failed compressors, we have lost a large amount of food equalling $$$$. When we asked about LG replacing our unit with a new unit that will keep our food cold, we were told that they can only send out a service technician and have it repaired (again and again and again). Run, dont walk, away from LG REFRIGERATORS!!!

I call LG Appliance because my dryer would not stop tumbling when I opened the door, my dryer is under 2 years old. I knew what was wrong with the dryer but I wasnt sure who I should call to repair, so I called the mfg, LG Appliance. They told me they would dispatch a repairman and the fee for service was $125. The repairman showed up, replaced the $16 part and then billed me additional labor of $65.00. I called LG to ask why I paid their fee and a service fee and they continued to say that the fee was dispatch, until I asked exactly what dispatch meant - setting up the appointment. Well, I could have done that myself. The customer service rep at LG was pretty cagey in his setting up this appointment, never clarifying that I would pay all the labor fee. My understanding was the service visit would be free.

Where do I start. I have the top loading, no agitator, wave force. It uses too much electricity figuring out load weight. It doesnt clean the clothes well. The bleach dispenser has ruined many towels. If I interrupt a cycle to add an item (during that time the machine allows you), it screws up the machine on how much water to add so it fills the tank completely full. Contacting the company is a joke. The repairman tells me everythings normal (hes probably in a hurry to go to the next complaint of LG washers. Thank God the parts were under warranty. 11 months later, freezer is not cooling again now. I also have had the same issues as others on this thread. Compressor failure at 3 years of ownership is a sure sign this unit (and others within the same model series) are complete garbage. Prior, 3 months after purchasing this unit, we experienced a loud rattling noise which was caused by a fan hitting a build-up of ice on the compressor lines. After multiple tech visits, replacing several items, the entire board or CPU for the unit was replaced. We had no other issues after up until now, 3 years later. Fortunately, we did buy an extended 5-year warranty from the company where it was purchased. This warranty did cover the costs to repair. But, based on my research, the compressor will fail again in time due to onboard firmware issues that are causing the overload.

Usually if I put them on high the will go on, but can’t regulate them. I’ve always owned GE appliances and never replaced bc they no longer worked. They’d been out dated. LG True Balance - We had the washer for only 8 mos. It stopped agitating. We reported the issue to the 800 number on the machine. They sent a tech the next day. Finally at 7:00 pm they arrived. First the problem. 15 mins after he left the whole bottom unit came off. Called them again. The next day they sent the same tech, this time he said the part is bad and will need a week to order a new part. We thought we were getting a top of the line washer. Further, he doesn’t balance correctly... as it is suppose to auto balance. First time buying LG. Very disappointed with the product and the service. To have it break in 8 mos. I was on the phone with LG to find out it’s not under warranty, no recall is on this model and was offer a technician to come and see if it’s repairable if I pay $125 upfront. I said, No thanks. They opened a ticket with their safety department and said someone will contact me in 24 to 48 hours. It’s been 2 days. No one called. Purchased an LG dishwasher less than 5 months ago. We were doing a kitchen remodel so it has only been used the last month or so. I have never been so dissatisfied by an appliance. The dishwasher is designed poorly (we purchased the unit with the three racks - the top rack being slim and designed for spatulas, knives or small items). There is no correct way to load this machine as all the racks and prongs fall over during the cycle. The dishes are not clean - I hand wash everything before it enters the machine and they are worse when they come out than when they go in. The machine takes over 2 hours to run on a normal wash/dry cycle and the dishes are not dry, they come out saturated. The machine is not dry and requires cleaning after every cycle. The soap spills out of the door and somehow ends up on the outside of the front door. This is the worst dishwasher I have ever used and if I am unable to return it, I will feel criminal giving it away for free. I recommend not trying your luck and going with a different brand. This cost over $800. Awful.

I would give this product 0 stars if that were an option. I purchased this appliance 4 years ago and while it looks great, it has been nothing but trouble. We first had an issue about 2 years after purchase - it stopped cooling in the freezer. We lost quite a bit of food but the repair was covered by the warranty. Now 2 years later, the same thing has happened except now it is both the freezer and refrigerator that will not cool. Last Friday night at 6:00, I discovered that the food in my refrigerator was getting warm. The thermostat said 37 degrees in the refrigerator and 0 degrees in the freezer, but food was warm in the refrigerator and things in the freezer were melting. I started calling appliance repair services. Most were closed at 6 PM but the ones who did answer said, Sorry, but we cant work on LG appliances. I asked, Why not? I was told, Because LG will NOT ALLOW us to be a part of their service network and LG will NOT let us buy parts. The repair services said that they had filled out apps and had been jumping through hoops for LG for 1-2 years without success. Because of LGs policies, I lost $400-500 worth of food and am FORCED TO BUY A NEW REFRIGERATOR. Today, Monday, the other repair services that I had left messages for Friday night have been returning my calls and ALL OF THEM told me the very same thing about LG service policies. LG forces customers to call LG and LG sends a repair person (you have to wait days) who charges 2-3 times the going rate, and LG charges sky high prices for parts. The repair services said to buy a Whirlpool, Amana or Kenmore instead because parts are readily available and less expensive. Whirlpool donates to Habitat for Humanity, too. GE parts are the highest, except for LG.

I purchased an over the range LG microwave from Home Depot. It was a reduced price display model, which I guess should have told me that it was a waste of money. Within a year, it stopped working four times (two of these times were within two days of each other). Since it was covered by the one year warranty, it didnt cost me anything, but it was frustrating to be without a microwave while waiting for it to be serviced. THEN... after the warranty expired, it stopped heating on two more occasions. Now, LG state that it would be $160 to have a technician come out to diagnose the problem.I think a microwave that needs servicing six times in such a short period should have been replaced, but LG thinks I should just start paying the $160 per call out for the same, reoccurring problem. I spoke to a supervisor at headquarters who was very unhelpful and told me that the company should not have helped me as much as they did because it was a display model and its history was unknown. She was very combative and arrogant and probably doesnt even realize that she lacks even basic customer services skills and is in need of training. My only consolation is that she is a consumer too, and the same way she treated me, she will be treated at some point in her life. Further, I know now not to purchase another LG product. Luckily it was covered under warranty so it was free. However, its only been 4 years since the replacement and again the drum bearings are going bad and need to be replaced. I was told that with the direct drive system the bearings had a longer life than previous models. If this is true then the previous models must have only lasted 2 years! Two weeks later, he replaced the motherboard and everything was up and running just fine. Two months later, we had the same issue. The left burner goes this time. On the 3rd repair, LG tells me the repair guy is the one who has to call it a lemon, the repair guy tells me its LG that has to call it a lemon. Okay, so he repaired it and I just let it go, WHICH I have NOT have done!Dec. 14, we call the repairman again, I am now on my 4th repair for the same thing! Now LG wants to see my receipt for the stove, and they are sending it to their Claims dept. to see if they can replace this stupid stove. I really hope they do NOT plan to send me another stove like this one! Last week, the repairman came out, of course they have to order the parts and I am just betting, my stove will NOT be repaired in time for me to cook the family Christmas dinner! It really sucks to spend all that money for a stove that only works part time! Updated on 02/14/2021: I posted a review on 12/19/20, at which time my microwave had been dead for two months. LG responded by asking me to send details by private message. I did that on 12/20/20. They did not reply, respond, or take any action. LGs second repair attempt (on this, the third time the unit has failed) broke what few remaining features (fan, light, clock) still worked. Costco has been trying for the last two weeks to get LG to replace the unit. They are getting what I got: no response, untruths, failure to call back when they promised. LG customer service is non-existent. This Friday will be three months since it broke. They do not contend that I am at fault in any way. They just wont do anything.Original Review: We bought a microwave from Costco as part of a $4000 kitchen appliance package. It has died three times in the year and a half since purchase. This third time (November 19), the part needed to repair it no longer exists. Despite that, Im getting a complete runaround from LG customer service, repeatedly being promised call-backs that never happen, 20+ minute hold times, and hours wasted on the phone. At this point, I am promised a call by December 28. Ill believe it when it happens.
