The light bulbs on the bottom of my over the stove microwave get so hot that they are melting the plastic cover that surrounds them. A hole has been burnt right through the plastic. I finally just took the cover off as small bits of plastic were falling out of the cover on to the stove. Anyone else having this problem? Let me say that my microwave is about 8 years old but everything else works fine on it, just an issue with the overheating light bulbs.
Quiet, efficient, makes dishes look new! Dont understand all the capabilities & features yet, no instructions provided. But WHY does every cycle take almost 2 hours?!? Every model, every brand - just too long. Thats crazy!
We purchased the LG front loader washer & dryer for our daughter & son-in-law as a gift in 2012. It is only 3 years old & the washer start button does not work! They have been without a washer for weeks. This is ridiculous to have this happen with such a new expensive washer! Now the repairman said the part is on back order!!! OMG! LG should send them a new washing machine!! Needless to say, with a household of 3, there is a lot of laundry. On back order, how long will it take to get the part in?
I guess I should feel lucky. My $2200 LG refrigerator lasted 3.25 years. Reading all of the other reviews it appears the average is 2.5 years. LG states the life expectancy is 20 years. If they truly believed that, why doesnt the compressor have a 20 year warranty. Its baseless marketing, My dead refrigerator has been standing in my kitchen Since July of 2019. Consumers settled a class action suit against LG, but LG still has not done a thing to resolve my issues except send me a generic e-mail referring to their website. LG responds to these reviews, stating this is not a normal customer experience.LG fought a class action suit, lost, and had an appeal dismissed on their faulty compressor issues. And they have yet to fulfill their obligations in the settlement. This is the routine for LG customers, not the exception. Search: LG REFRIGERATOR CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT BENTLEY, ET AL. V. LG ELECTRONICS U.S.A., INC. Case No. 19-CV-13554 (D.N.J.).
We purchased all new LG appliances for our new summer home. In our third year of use, our dishwasher began to error out with a 1E code and would shut down. We were able to restart it and it would complete its cycle. That worked for a short time and then it started to error out all of the time. We contacted LG and they told us to contact a repair service. We purchased a new part and that did not work, so LG sent us a new control panel. That did not work. We have taken the machine out and put back in, made sure it was level and it still did not work. We now have an immaculate dishwasher that does not work. Now within the last year, our numbers on our stove clock have been burning out one by one. LG does not stand by their products and had an oh well attitude. We will never purchase another LG product.
I purchased an LG washing machine in 2011. At the time of its purchase, the machine started to produce oil like stains on the clothes. I tried several detergents and purchased several different types of tub cleaners to no avail. After 6 months of repeated stains, I called the Sears technical department to complain about the situation. A technician was sent out to my house to provide preventive maintenance. Upon arrival, I indicated that the machine did not require its yearly maintenance but rather a repair. The technician indicated, after looking at the machine, that he could not detect a deficiency with the machine. He did acknowledge that the stains were coming from the machine. Several calls to the technical department, the customer service department, and an in store visit to Sears to discuss the way forward with an area manager has proven to be futile. I still sit with a machine that produces oil stains on my clothes. I have incurred enormous costs having to throw away clothes because they are no longer fit to wear. I am now considering purchasing another machine, and I have stopped purchasing anything from Sears purely out of principle.
My washer is 1 1/2 years old. Just before it went out of warranty, I noticed the bleach dispenser was starting to rust. I called LG and was told not their problem and if I want someone to look at it I have to pay for a repairman. I told them NO WAY. I would be glad to send pictures, still they said no. A couple months go by and I start to notice rust spots on my clothes so I called back this time. I was told there was a recall and they would fix that first then look into the rust problem. Repairman comes and just like everyone else did not fix the unbalance problem. I insisted on him taking pictures of the now very rusty bleach dispenser. After many calls, they finally agreed to fix. Well see. They are due here this Friday. This machine is junk!!!! I welcome a class action suit!!!!!!
I purchased an LG stove with a double oven 20 months ago. The oven has been a huge nightmare the entire time. It preheats but after you put the food in it begins to stop heating ending up taking 90 minutes for 15 minute rolls. Ive had repair come out 3 times but they say thats how it is supposed to be. Meanwhile I have to stand there and monitor it, waiting for it to quit heating. I have lost hundreds of dollars in meat and food. No recall or help, just a very expensive crap shoot. Ruined thanksgivings, many dinners, with raw meat. I asked to return it before the warranty expired 3 times -- they wouldnt do it. Never buy this appliance. It doesnt work and they wont honor the warranty.
At just under three years of being in service this model (31925ST) requires significant repairs that are of course not covered by warranty. I have utilized the poorly written troubleshooting guide with no remedy. This refrigerator sounds as though a helicopter is running in my kitchen! I guess I should not be surprised. I also purchased a dishwasher from LG and a range from LG at the same time - all have had issues that are dismissed as cosmetic items like the stove knobs melting, the plastic calibration strip off or the dishwasher rack that does not remain in position. I will go back to GE! The stainless steel on LG is so thin that by looking at it wrong it seems to dent!
LG Washer WT5070CW - I have had this washer since 12/12/12. It is not worth the money. This is my third washing machine in my married life of 35+ years. I gave my son my last one when I bought this piece of junk. All the others lasted 10+ years. Always Unbalance Error. I babysit this machine constantly waiting for it to UE over and over again. The repair man for my appliances wont even look at a LG. Should have called him before my purchase. I called LG today and really received no solution other than emailing them all my information on the purchase. Considering buying another washer (NOT LG). Dont even want to give to anyone because it is junk. Will just have them haul it away.
My 2-door side by side refrigerator is only 4 years old. The inside back has hairline cracks all over it from top to bottom. The plastic handles and door shelves are all broken and duct taped. I called and text them and all they say is how I can purchase new ones. That will never happen. I will never purchase LG again. Its not like my husband and myself ever abused it and we are the only 2 people that have ever touched it.
My 2.5 year old LG refrigerator Model LFX 25978ST/00 stopped working--first ice machine failed, then freezer and then finally entire fridge--lost all my food. Called an appliance repair and they tried replacing a $150 motherboard they tested and determined had failed. That did not fix the problem. Conclusion was the compressor was also failed. LG guarantees its compressor for 10 years, BUT, only deals with certain repair centers, so I was already out $200 and needed to call one of only two LG-affiliated centers in my area. One quoted me 2300 for labor and said the repairs rarely last and I should just buy a new fridge. Another quoted me 300 for labor, but demanded an advance before scheduling the repair and said that ordering the part and scheduling could take up to 2-3 weeks. What is obvious, having read MANY similar accounts, is there needs to be a class action lawsuit against LG. Furthermore, there needs to be much more attention to quality control, parts have to be made to last longer and all of us are going to have to pay more for our appliances and/or those profiting at the upper echelons of these companies are going to have to share the spoils with their workers to fabricate better products. My GE fridge bought in 1980, lasted 30 years. Should have had it repaired and paid the price for higher electricity vs tossing three refrigerators in a landfill that are energy efficient but, doing nothing other than cluttering the earth.
We purchased our LG Refrigerator in October 2016. It is a French door with dual ice makers. We did love it but like so many others... our compressor broke and our food was ruined. No small expense. Because there is such a demand for replacement compressors I was told there was a back order on them and it took 10 days to get it fixed. Additionally, we cannot get the right fruit/vegetable bin (when facing the refrigerator) out to clean it without breaking it. The gentleman who repaired did get it out and broke it in the process. If anyone would care to shed light on this I would greatly appreciate it. I did read the manual and when you follow the directions, it jams against the door. Also, there in a clear plastic easy access door inside the main french door that catches and pulls open each time you open the main door. Our solution to this was to tape it shut. Lastly, the handle has a button to push to open to access milk and other beverages and apparently it is painted plastic not stainless steel like the rest of the handle because the paint wore off the first year... Looks pretty bad for a high end fridge.
My washer is less than a year old. Already had to replace 4 parts, one is the motor and electronic board and couple other parts! Due to a UE code it was throwing for being unbalance. The other thing it was doing is turning off on its own and not coming back on unless we unplugged it and then turned it back on then it would work! This happened a couple times. I am happy I have a 4 yr warranty!
I have tried to communicate with LG several times about the seriousness of my new washer turning itself on. They say it is not a manufacturer defect. And that they will not fix the problem. Do not buy LG, I purchased a new Samsung dryer the same day as washer and regret not buying the Samsung washer.
Very good machine and reliable. You never have any problems with the washer and it cleans your clothes very well. It would be a wise move to purchase this washer. The panel takes some getting used to but you eventually learn the processes.
I just purchased a new LG washing machine WF-T1262TP. The spin cycle is inoperative in that the tub wont spin. I have redistributed the laundry but it does not help.
I bought top of the line dryer from LG. I wanted a Kenmore, but was talked out of it at the store by an expert salesman. I’ve had nothing but problems with it ever since this time. It doesn’t dry clothes, sensors all go off and now I’ve contacted LG, they sent Callahan’s repair, they said I needed a part. I waited a week and then they cancelled the appt. I now am waiting for an “outbound” segment of LG to contact me to try and get a new company to fix the problem. This is while being placed on hold for at least an hour. Very disappointed in LG and will never buy their products again!
LG makes terrible appliances. I purchase all new kitchen appliances last year. I am not happy with any of them. The dishwasher in particular likes to remind me of my terrible purchase with each cycle. The door alarm will sound at least once each cycle. When this happens I am forced to open and close the door and restart in a certain time. When I call customer support, they tell me all authorized service techs are booked. I will be purchasing an entire kitchen appliances package again in the near future. You can bet life will get better.
The LG washer leaks water. Ive only had the washer for 2 month, and in that time I have made 7 calls and taken off work 4 times to meet the LG repairmen. Yet, the washer continues to leak. Upon contacting an LG supervisor, her response was a weak sorry. I would strongly urge anyone considering the purchase of a washing machine to never buy a LG washer. The LG machine is unreliable and LG service was hollow.
I had the misfortune to purchase six LG appliances. In the past two years, I have had 2 repairs to my refrigerator, 2 repairs to my stove, 1 repair to my washing machine, and my microwave had to be replaced. Presently, my products are still under a warranty, however, LG Repair service have refused to come to my house, again to fix my stove. DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS!!!
Ice maker dumps water that freezes in and on ice bin. Ice dump door does not close so air gets in freezer and forms ice in freezer. Switches from cube to crushed ice on its own. Drawer slides broken. 3 repairs and still not fixed. If this is what you get with LG I wont be back and I will tell everyone to stay away from LG.
Very disappointed. We paid over $1,200.00 for our washing machine and it lasted us less than 5 years. The bearings are out and it would cost $800 to $850 to repair. Do not get LG products. We also got a refrigerator from LG that is slowly falling apart. When I called LG to express my disappointment, they acted very disinterested and pretty much said, “Thats the way it is.”
Purchased a brand new top loading washer in April 2021- finally received the washer in July 2021- machine broke down in Sept 2021. After 2 months of use this machine was broken. I called LG customer support and they sent out technician to fix it- he did not, they ordered more parts and again came back - did not fix again. Currently waiting again for them to fix it again. Over 1.5 months of no washer. They should be providing me with a brand new washer instead of having me wait over 1 month to have it fixed. Still broken. Worst customer service and even worse product. How can a brand new washer be broken after 2 months?? Unacceptable. Would never recommend this company or product to anyone!!!
DO NOT BUY AN LG WASHING MACHINE!! Upon installation, our brand new top of the line front loading washing machine, LG Model # WM3470HWA, exhibited extreme water hammer noise, which resonated through our entire 2,700 sq ft home, immediately after the sensing cycle and during the filling cycle. LG Phone Tech Support recommended that our plumbing contractor (a master plumber), install water hammer arrestors (3 sets were eventually installed, in between visits from the LG 3rd party and Factory Rep). We also reduced the water pressure, even though the existing pressure setting was well within LG tolerances. he third party service rep, during a call w/ Tech Support at LG was told that the water hammer noise is intrinsic to the machines operation. In the end, after going to the very highest level of Customer Support at LG, they refused to address the problem, or stand behind the product in any way. The result... we are stuck with a inferior, defective washing machine. If you go to other blogs, you will see that this problem is quite common with LG washing machines.
TrueBalance Washing Machine - Top Loader WT1501CW - We recently got this washer (purchased new) & within a week I knew we made a big mistake. At first I thought we just needed to adjust to this type of machine (weve used a front loader with no problems for years). We bought a extra large capacity but cant put but a small load in because it doesnt move the clothes. Ive washed on bulky load hoping it would wash better but it didnt help. Clothes on top stay in top & our clothes doesnt get clean.I sweat a lot & its bad when you put clothes on that smell like they already been worn for three days. My daughter works in a factory & her pants always look dirty with grease. I wash my clothes I wash small loads, with color bleach, Biz stain & odor eliminator, Downy with odor defence, & Wisk deep clean detergent & Downy fabric softener on stain care option & prewash. It never puts enough water to cover the clothes even when we use the extra water feature. Worst purchase we have ever made. I cant say this enough...dont waste your money.
We have noticed buckles in the French Door on the front of the Stainless Steel door. Not cosmetic but a structural defect with air pockets from defective insulation. We are completely dissatisfied with Customer service.
LG front load washer is four years old. I got an LE message then the machine wouldnt run, so I called for service. Stainless Steel drum has lifetime warranty. The motor has 7-year warranty. The service technician was on the phone with LG for about an hour, apparently trying to understand the Pakistani man. The end result was $700 to repair the drum and motor and replace the plastic drum around the inner drum, which of course has no warranty, and about 5 hours labor to tear it all apart. It doesnt matter what model. It is a $1,000 washer that should not need $700 in repairs in four years. This is the very last LG product that is ever purchased at my house. If I could have given it zero stars, I would have.
I have only owned this LG for a few months but the drawers and side bins are chipping. I have several pieces that I will try to glue back on but now it is only a matter of time before I break a drawer. I wish I had realized this before I made such a major purchase. Please note: This a replacement LG as the freezer on the original failed within one month of purchase.
LG is the worst thing you can buy, and the customer service is even more worse. I purchased a refrigerator that has only been used for five months. It is completely broken, and replacement is taking two months, and still waiting. When you call them, you will hold forever. Not just me, everybody I knew, who bought an LG appliance, said the same thing. Dont buy LG if you want your life to be good.
My LG refrigerator had a cooling issue because of the bad compressor. LG eventually replaced the bad compressor. It is working fine now. I am happy with the excellent after-sale customer service provided by LG.
We purchased an LG lsxs26326s side by side refrigerator (as well as a microwave, oven & dishwasher as we remodeled our kitchen) in April 2015. On Dec 16, 2016 it had stopped cooling. Fortunately, we have a 20+ yr old Kenmore in the basement we were able to move all the food to. Had our own repairman come out Sunday to see what the problem was. Determined the compressor in our ONE AND A HALF YEAR OLD refrigerator had gone out. Now, this part has a TEN YEAR warranty through LG (hm, maybe that should have told us something) HOWEVER, only the PART is covered NOT labor. Sunday night I call LG Service and after a very long and frustrating discussion with someone who barely spoke English, I was informed a Letter of Authorization would be sent by email to our repairman so he could order the part. I requested a rush on that letter as it was a week until Christmas & we had family coming from out of town. Monday, no letter. Tuesday, still no letter. I call again Tuesday night and am informed they tried calling the repairman and got no answer or return call (I know this is a lie as I spoke with them that day to confirm contact from LG). At this point, I demand to have the matter escalated and to speak to a manager. I get put on hold for a while and FINALLY get a manager, whom I might add speaks English clearly (YAY). She proceeds to tell me something completely different than I was told by the previous two reps. Stating they have to talk to the tech while they are at the refrigerator and able to guide them through what to check. THEN, once diagnosed as the compressor the letter of authorization would be sent so the tech could order the part, which would take 3-5 DAYS to receive!!!Now, I am getting angry. She tells me they had available techs on the 20th, 21st & that day (22nd) so I could have just had their tech come out and diagnose it and they would have had the compressor the next day. I told her there was no way in hell I was paying THEIR techs an arm & a leg to fix the refrigerator I purchased a YEAR & HALF ago when my guy was only charging me $60/hr!!! Her response was simply OH. Finally, she send the letter of authorization by email while still on the phone with me. Wednesday morning, I call my tech & they have the email (THANK GOD). They order the part. Thankfully, it comes on Thursday and our guy comes out that evening to replace it. Now, a month later, we are having problems with the ice maker not making ice. UGH!!! I wish we would have just gone with different appliances. I will NEVER EVER EVER purchase another LG product. Purchasing these appliances has literally been a nightmare. They should have paid us to take them for what we have been through with all these appliances!
I purchased LG washer June 2015. After the first couple of washes the detergent dispenser would be filled with water some of the time. Now it happens after every wash. I have to pull out the dispenser every time to dump the water. I called customer service yesterday. I was told to try powder detergent. I was also told that it was normal for water to be in the dispenser. No. Its not normal as it didnt do it the first couple of washes.
BUYER BEWARE! Try to keep short. Refrigerator 5 years old. Non functioning since November 15, 2017. Serviced x 3. Service charge totalling $401.25. Deemed unfixable by technician! After multiple phone calls to LG (wait x 40 + minutes each and every time). Most recent call 830 tonight. Was told tech forgot to turn in for request for new refrigerator. Todays date 1/10/2018. Was told we would have to wait til 1/16/2018 for review!!! LG could sell toilet paper; wouldnt buy!! They are not worth **!
We have a four-year-old LG Dishwasher (LDF6920ST) that caught fire at 2 am in the morning a few weeks ago. Thankfully, our oldest son was awake and heard a loud popping noise that caused him to investigate and we were able to turn the unit off before it burned down our kitchen. The repairman who looked at the unit found that the main circuit board in the door caught fire. It is important to note that the motor has burned in the unit as well. A member of the LG executive team that works on these problems told me that fires happen in all sorts of LG appliances and that they repair the unit! We are completely afraid of this product, based on the many other examples of fires we have read about and we want a refund. Dont buy LG.
I was elated when I received the long overdue recall letter from LG! But much to my dismay, the recall repair has made a bad thing worse. I immediately called LG to schedule such repair and after the first visit, the machine has lost its track of time as well as the continuation of the UE error activity. Now a 35-minute speed wash can last all day if you do not babysit the machine and catch it before it starts ANOTHER rinse on the spin cycle. To top the matter off, the repair company sent by LG, Infinity Solutions, out of Irving Texas cannot keep a scheduled appointment! I have now missed 2 days of work by staying home to meet someone who does not show up. The excuses are unending. I will probably have to do the same thing as a previous dissatisfied customer proclaimed. Buy a cheaper washer and store this one until a lawyer can get some results. I cannot sell this 3-year-old machine to anyone in good conscience and I am sorry LG could.
Looks beautiful stainless steel, french door, lighting etc... but has never produced 1 ice cube despite 12 visits from repairmen (to date). Losing count but so far 4 new icemakers, valves and whatever else has been replaced. We have reworked our schedule and lives to letting repairmen into our house to fix the icemaker on this new refrigerator only to NEVER have it work. LG has been kind during phone calls but I would rather them be rude and FIX it! It has a SMART DIAGNOSIS on the inside of the door that allows me to hold my phone to for them to diagnose, but that didnt work when I talked to them either. We have been buying bagged ice and ice trays for and expensive new refrig. for 2 1/2 months now. When is enough enough? I woke up at 1 AM thinking about this most frustrating and horrible product I have ever owned (& our family owned a Yugo dealership at one time) - if that tells you the level of frustration this has caused.
LG Inverter Linear compressor went bad 3 weeks ago. This is my second purchase of a LG refrigerator. I love the adjustable space inside the refrigerator and the constraint cooling throughout the refrigerator. My issue is I have been without a refrigerator for 3 weeks with family coming in tomorrow. My husband called the LG service department on November 25 and they found us an authorized dealer but they are an hour south of our home. They came out on November 27 and told us our compressor went bad and would order another one. Needless to say, Thanksgiving dinner was served out of coolers and neighbors spare refrigerators. We have been calling both the LG service department and the service company that LG said would fix our compressor. The service company says they cannot get a compressor when we call them. LG service department says they have them in stock. I am not sure what is going on but three weeks without a refrigerator is extremely bad customer service. I need help with getting my refrigerator fixed and don’t know where to turn.
We bought a home with a new LG side-by-side refrigerator already installed. We have been in the house for 4 years and have had a service call on the refrigerator freezer at least 5 times. 1. The fan motor went bad, so the compressor shut down, causing food to defrost. 2. Water would not flow from the dispenser or to the ice maker. One of the solenoids was bad. 3. The ice cube tray that makes the ice was warped, so the water would overflow into the ice bin and freeze all the ice together. Apparently, the heater for the tray causes the tray to warp over time.4. The hose in the back that supplies water to the icemaker developed a leak and soaked our floors. This was repaired and it re-occurred multiple times. This issue is so common with LG that there is a procedure on YouTube on how to replace and repair the hose. I have owned refrigerators for 20 years with no problems. I believe LG definitely has a quality problem, so buy at your own risk.
Washer wt 1101cw - This washer is constantly out of balance, I have to watch every load which I realized were taking 4 hours or more to do one load, my water consumption has doubled for my home since January of 2014 and it keeps my septic drain field constantly wet even in the heat of summer. Further they have told me there is nothing they will do to fix this problem, in fact his words to me is This shouldnt be a problem mamma. So this is the worst washer I have ever purchased and would never recommend it.
I purchased an LG WT5101HV Washer and DLGX5102V Gas Dryer in May 2011. For two years, I had no problems with either machine. Occasionally, I received an Unbalanced Error, but if I did receive the error, the load was truly unbalanced. I received a recall letter in the mail in July 2013 and called LG to schedule a recall service, with the assumption that the defective parts (plastic tub supports) would be replaced. LG sent Buy Rite Appliances to do the repair. The technician arrived and told me he was there to do a software update and was in and out of my home within a few minutes. My washer has been unable to complete any cycle that I have attempted since the software update was performed.I called Buy Rite Appliances to report that the machine was unable to complete a cycle, as it was constantly flashing an Unbalanced Error during the cycle, with or without items in the tub, which meant that the tub filled, agitated and emptied over and over and over and over again, without ever switching to the Spin cycle from the Rinse cycle. I was informed by the technician that performed the update that this is normal and that I should pause the cycle upon seeing the error and restart it again. In my mind, this was not normal as I never had to do this before. Before the recall fix I started a cycle. It completed by itself, and then I moved the laundry to the dryer. After that discussion, I called LG and explained my situation to three different people before someone agreed to set another appointment with Buy Rite to have them look at the washer again. The next morning I received a call from Buy Rite basically refusing to come out and look at the machine, as the Unbalanced Errors are normal. I explained again that my machine had not completed a cycle since the update and was unable to switch from Rinse to Spin and that this was not, in fact, normal. They said they would make a call to the tech hotline and call me back. Later that day, they called me back with some more questions and stated that they would call me back when they knew how to proceed. Two days later, I called them to confirm the repair appointment that LG had previously set with them and was told that they determined, without actually looking at the machine, that I would need a Rotor and Stator and that it would be up to me to call LG and get an APM, and that, no, they would not be out for the service appointment.I called LG again and explained the parts and APM situation with Buy Rite to three different people and was ultimately told that I would need to upload my original receipt before a determination could be made on parts approval. I uploaded the receipt and called LG for a status update. After talking to three more people and explaining the situation each time, I was told I would need to be connected with someone to perform a Smart Diagnosis and after that an extended warranty would be issued and only then parts would be approved. When I was connected with the Smart Diagnosis department, I spent over 20 minutes on hold before being told to call back later because they could not pull up the Smart Diagnosis application on their workstation. I downloaded the Smart Diagnosis application to my phone, which diagnosed a Symptom Num (5, 88), which states the symptom needs to contact the call center. I contacted the call center though the phone application and explained my situation to two people at LG. The second person performed a Smart Diagnosis twice over the phone and then told me that I had no problems, it was just an Unbalance Error and I should check the size of the load and the leveling of the machine, etc. Upon beginning to hear this explanation, I abruptly cut the representative off and explained for the umpteenth time that my washer had worked perfectly prior to the Recall Software Update being installed on my machine, and now the machine was unable to complete a cycle, rendering it utterly useless to me. The representative then scheduled yet another appointment with Buy Rite Appliances for 7 days later with approval for repairs. And here I sit, with a broken, recalled machine, waiting for someone to make it whole again. Although I dont have an exploding machine as of yet, I would be more than happy to be a Named Plaintiff in a Class Action. My receipt clearly states that I purchased an LGAP WT5101HV/S-GLA GR/S LG 5.2 1100 RPM HE TOP-LD. This is not what I have sitting in my home now. I have an LG machine that, by all accounts, tops out at 700 RPM due to the software fix, which is false advertising and may yet explode, and is unable to complete a cycle, but fills completely the tub with water over and over and over again in its inability to complete a cycle, wasting both water and energy, rendering it definitely not, in my mind, HE. And there is that mountain of laundry that is accumulating that no one but me seems to care about.
I have had my LG range for a week and used the oven approx 4 times. I pre-heated the oven to 350 and the interior glass shattered. LG has not committed to how they intend to address this problem. They certainly are not offering to replace my week old purchase!
The ice maker on this LG refrigerator is cheaply built. It stopped working correctly about 5 years after purchase. Generally we are happy with the performance of this refrigerator. The only issue we see is freezing of items in the refrigerator section even when the temperature is set on one of the lower settings.
LG GL-M522 GNSL-2015. I bought in May 2015 this fridge as I required a bigger one. But it is bigger just in terms of model specifications. In fact its designing is so poor that it does not fulfill my only requirement of more space to use. I am happy that I didnt sell my old small LG322 l fridge otherwise I couldnt put even a small size watermelon or a normal size jug in the fridge. At the time of purchase even its door sensor was also defective. When technician came, he told me you should take AMC of this fridge as its maintenance is too costly. Its PCB only costs Rs8500, service charges 680/-. I am very scared if I have to repair my fridge, what will I do.
Purchased an LG refrigerator 5 years ago at a cost of approx 3000US from Brandsmart USA in South Florida. The unit was shipped to Trinidad and Tobago W.I. The compressor failed a week ago. LG boasted of a 10 yr warranty on the linear compressor. After reviewing on the internet, it would seem that LG has a major problem with this model compressor FC75LBNA. and instead of doing a recall or ensuring the problem with the compressors are fixed, they continue to sell the same compressor with the same fail issue. My local service tech who inspected the refrigerator said every other LG unit he attended to had this exact problem. (Yes there are more suckers like me here in our country who got fooled by LG) Long and short LG USA said my warranty is void because the unit was shipped out of the USA. This was not told to me by the sales rep at Brandsmart who were quite happy to take my money. So now I either throw out a 3000US unit or import a compressor and quite likely experience the same problem again.
I’ve dealt with many terrible companies in my time but never one as bad as LG. I bought a refrigerator with an extended warranty and the compressor (main component) died on me within that time period. Called LG to help. A very friendly agent set up an appointment with me with a company based in NJ called “Rising”. No sooner did I hang up did Rising call me back to tell me they do not service my area and they have to cancel my appointment. This is when the real trouble happened.I called back LG and they referred me to my next two non-existent authorized dealers. When faced with the reality that no one would fix my warranty refrigerator, I sought out my own resolution. Called LG to get an authorization letter for an “outside” repair company to fix my fridge. After 24-48 hours I called back. They told me they had cancelled the request for an outside vendor and made an appointment with Rising service again. I called them again and was told once again that they do not service my area and they intend to keep cancelling whatever appointment LG makes for me. I called back LG. This circle of events occurred again in the exact same order THREE times. I tired to escalate to management and got more runaround. With no refrigeration for a week I finally decided to pay out of pocket and sue them later. Here’s what I found out though. A little INSIDER SECRET - LG does not pay the authorized companies and that’s why no one wants to do their jobs. So take it from me. So far I’m out 3/4 of the value of the fridge in a little over 3 years - do NOT buy an LG product because if it goes bad you’re out of luck. Learn from my mistake.
We purchased this dryer less than a year ago at Lowes. Since purchasing this new dryer, I have to run all loads on a minimum of 2 cycles to dry, mostly with towels and not huge loads but maybe 10 towels I usually have to run through 4 dry settings to get them dry enough which is ridiculous. This is why we replaced our old Samsung dryer. Gonna be replacing our washing machine soon, and after this complete waste of a dryer purchase, we will definitely be looking at other avenues and brands for our washing machine upgrade. I have 2 college students and one middle school and 3 people working in my house and dont have time to wait 3 hours for dry clothes. Do not recommend this product as a dryer for anyone.
I had an LG refrigerator and and I wanted a replacement one that would match my stove and microwave. There are some things I’m not happy with. The temperature control doesnt seem to be as good as it was on the other one. I have a separate temperature gauge and many times, it isn’t as cold as it should be. I even had somebody come out to the house and it hasn’t made a difference. The fridge is fine as far as where the shelves are, but I am not happy.
Updated on 06/24/2021: A lot has happened behind the scenes since I made the first post. LG stepped in and offered to set the situation right, so I gave them the opportunity to do so. As you will read here, not only did they fail to make things right, they ended up making it worse. I warn you now, it is not a short read. March 30-Must have gotten someone’s attention. An unidentified person (this is a trend) PMed me via Consumer Affairs (CA) and offered to address the situation. They asked for some info, including billing address for the original purchase. I gave info and waited.April 2- Offer to repair machine at their expense is forwarded to me through CA by an unidentified person. I agree to offer. Sometime after this point, LG orders 2 replacement parts, a new main control board and a display board. I am not sure why the control board was ordered, as it was obvious the display board was the problem. The display board is the problem on every one of these machines.April 6-I get a notification by text from a random number (never identified) informing me that I recently scheduled service for my machine to be performed on April 8. Only problem is, I didn’t schedule service. Someone from LG (never identified) took it upon themselves to schedule this service without consulting me as to whether this was an acceptable time. The text number this was sent from could not receive return calls or texts, and no contact information was available to reach out about this scheduled appointment. After some digging around on the LG site, I figured out that the service was indeed scheduled, and also found out at this time that the above-mentioned parts had been ordered (one part was on backorder) and shipped to the billing address I originally gave on CA. Only problem with this is that the machine is not at the billing address, therefore both the parts and the service tech were heading to the wrong address. If someone had contacted me when the appointment was made, I could have given the correct address. If some useable contact information was made available to me, or if anyone in this process so far had identified themselves, I could have shared the situation with the incorrect address. But none of those things had happened. I share this latest update with the unidentified PM contact on CA.April 7- A box arrives from LG. I open it to find a new control board. Not the display (the part that is actually broken) but the other random part. Turns out that the display board is on national backorder. Not surprising since the OEM display boards have a 100% failure rate. With every single unit of this model needing this part replaced, demand is clearly high.April 8-Tech Visit #1. The service technician calls me to tell me he is 10 minutes away. I then tell him that he is 10 minutes away from the wrong address. He finally gets to the machine (I was able to be there), swaps out the mainboard, figures out mainboard is not the problem. I knew this already. So did the tech before even doing the job. Once he determined the main board was not the problem, he swapped the original board back into the machine and left, planning to return when the display board arrived. Since the mainboard did not appear bad, he returned the new mainboard to LG. This would prove to be a regretful decision.April 13- New display board arrives. I contact service tech and he schedules the next day to come install it. April 14-Tech shows up for Visit #2 (the fact I am giving numerical designations to tech visits should tell you something) and installs display board. I am not at the house this time, or much of the remaining catastrophe would likely have been avoided. According to my wife, he swapped out the board, hit the power button to see it power up, packed up his stuff and left. He did no function check or system diagnosis whatsoever, just looked for the lights to power up. He also went into the LG service system and reported the repair job complete. It was not, and the fact that he did report it as such would create problems down the road. After tech leaves, wife loads machine and tries to run it. After about a minute, it shut down and gave an error code indicating no water flow. I get home and check water supply to make sure that we didn’t have that turned off. I will also mention at this time that I have degrees in both electronic and mechanical engineering, and have been working as a design engineer and troubleshooting technician for electro-mechanical systems over 30 years. So I was able to deduce that we had sufficient water flow, but the electric water valve in the machine was not turning on. I contacted the tech, and he informed me he would come by the next day and check it out.April 15- Tech comes back for Visit #3. During this visit I learned the tech was a refrigeration expert, and had limited experience with dishwashers. He was competent, just not that experienced with LG dishwashers. He figures out that he had plugged something together incorrectly. I am not clear whether this mistake was made during Visit #1 and the incorrect connection was made at the mainboard, or during Visit #2 and the incorrect connection was made at the display board. I suspect it was #1 and the problem was at the mainboard because one of the connectors he attached incorrectly was to the main water valve, thus the valve did not work, as I had identified. Wherever the problem, he swapped the connectors around, ran a diagnostic, declared it good, and left again. When we powered up the machine I could hear the water valve now working, but after about a minute, the same error code and shutdown occurred.April 15 Part 2-The tech comes back that night for Visit #4 (told you we needed numbering). I am there, and we spend quite a bit of time checking out the machine. I teach him a few things about how the systems operate, and using some of my electronic testing equipment we figure out that the system is not seeing a signal from the water flow sensor. Hoping sensor might be bad, the tech ordered a replacement sensor.April 20-Tech got part, and stops by for Visit #5. Flow sensor not the problem. He spends over 2 hours of troubleshooting, including 2 calls to the service center for technical support. They go through everything, including checking the wiring harness. Nothing bad with wiring, but the mainboard is not supplying power to the sensor. It was never admitted to me, but I will bet a month’s pay that when he incorrectly connected the plugs in Visit #1 or #2, the sensor power supply on the mainboard was damaged. If he had not already sent back the new mainboard (remember I said this would be a regretful decision?) he could have swapped in the new board and likely fixed the problem. But he didn’t have the parts, and he was eventually told by the Service Center to stop attempting repair and RMA the machine.April 21- An unidentified person contacted me by text to inform me that the Alternate Resolution claim was started. But I should be prepared for it to be denied because the computer system says that all parts are functional. Remember the tech incorrectly reporting the machine repaired after Visit #2? An explanation by myself containing actual factual information and logic did nothing to change the response.April 23- I receive a phone call from LG asking about how I rated the service I had received in early April. Because the tech had reported he completed the repair, the gentleman calling me had no idea the job was botched, and he wanted to know how I rated my service experience on my freshly-repaired and perfectly-operating LG dishwasher. I don’t think he was very fond of my answers.May 1- Received voice mail from someone at LG telling me I was to be offered a bit over $500 for my permanently broken $1k machine. It further instructed me to contact Shakiah M about payout. May 5-When I talk to Shakiah, I’m told the actual number offered is even less. After several back and forth discussions on both text message and email, I agree to accept the offer, as long as there is no legally-binding contract included. I am assured there is not.Side note: It’s bad enough that almost no one from LG ever identifies themselves, but I am even more amazed by the amount of correspondence throughout this process done by text message on a cell phone. Is this what we call professional corporate behavior in 2021? Text messages? What are we, high-schoolers? May 28- Finally get a written offer. And that assurance there is no legally-binding component to the offer? Not true. I must waive off all rights to pursue further action if I accept this offer.Let’s recap: I started this process with a top-shelf machine with a single defective part. A $200 replacement part and 15 minutes of effort to install this part would have fixed my machine. But thanks to the mistake made by the service tech, I now have a junk machine. And what is the offer from LG after three months of hassle to fix all of this? Half what it will cost to replace it. Now I have a choice. LG is so in breach of contract here (not the warranty, BTW) that I will almost assuredly win in court. But small claims court is a hassle. I have tried to give LG the opportunity to make this right, and they continue to fail me, and will no longer even respond to me.30 day deadline to accept offer is June 27, three days from now. If LG really wants to make this right, then they need to do something better than half replacement cost for a machine THEY BROKE. If not, looks like I will see them in court. And I won’t be suing for just the cost of the machine. Punitive damages will be added on as well, and I have high confidence in my case and my ability to present it. I have been an expert witness in court proceedings several times, so court does not faze me. I don’t want the hassle of it, but I won’t be treated as a pushover either. This is LG’s mistake, LG needs to fix it with a reasonable offer.Original Review: We bought an LG LDP6797BD dishwasher in 2018, with the intentions of putting it in our house being remodeled. We used it in our rental home for about 8-10 months before removing it from service and putting it in storage. It never got installed in the house, so after sitting for 2 years, we pulled it out of storage and put it in another rental property where it has worked flawlessly for 5 months. Now after a total service life of 13-15 months, we walk in the kitchen one day to find it dead. Wont power up, wont light up, wont reset. Looking at a few videos, I picked up a line filter. Not the problem. In fact, once I had it apart to change the line filter, I could see the red LED lighting on the board. So clearly it has power. Then after some more research, I find the web full of similar complaints. The number of purchasers with failures occurring, conveniently almost immediately after the end of their one-year warranty, is simply staggering. The Amazon listing for this dishwasher has 100% 1-Star ratings. Let that sink in. 100% 1-star ratings, I have never seen that on ANYTHING in my life. And especially not on an item that costs $1000. This design clearly has a significant design flaw somewhere. The number of instances of identical failure occurring within a span of 12-16 months of service life is not a coincidence, and this statement is coming from a highly-experienced engineer with 3 decades of experience in design and manufacture of electro-mechanical systems. I know better than to believe that any manufacturer can take products to market and NEVER make a mistake in the design cycle. But what that manufacturer chooses to do about it when mistakes happen is what defines a company. This machine has a major design flaw, LG knows it, and apparently has chosen to do nothing about it. And I guess they have a right to not do anything about it. Well, I have a right to do something about it as well. If LG continues to leave customers like myself that spent quite a bit of money on a clearly defective product, then it will be the last of my money LG will ever see. And I will go out of my way, every chance I get, to encourage as many people as possible to also not ever spend THEIR money on an LG product. This is site number 2 for the day, I wonder how many more times I can tell this story before the weekend is over?If LG believes that not addressing this issue will save them money, I can assure you it will not. They will lose far more money from me alone than what it would cost them to make this right with me. Add to that lost revenue the amount of money they will lose with all the people I convince to not ever buy LG as well, and this will quickly become an expensive mistake many, many times over what it would take to fix it. If everyone else being screwed does the same, we can make a statement that LG simply will not be able to ignore. LG, the ball is in your court.
I have purchased a LDG4315ST from Best Buy 1 month ago during a remodel. It has been installed for 4 days now and I get a random gas smell odor from it. I had my contractor check the lines and no leaks. It has a leak inside somewhere. Just randomly you will walk by and smell the faintest hint of gas. Of course since it sat in my garage for a month it cant go back to Best Buy. I bought a gas detector to put near the range. Perhaps I can get some help here for my $1500 bomb I just purchased.
I purchased an LG French door refrigerator a few years ago. Within a few months, all the plastic inside began to crack. It isnt from abuse. Its not from cleaning with harsh chemicals. Every piece of plastic in the top refrigerator is broken - those on the doors and those holding the glass shelves. The freezer drawers are held on the track with duct tape as the freezer inside is all cracked too. The egg holder is completely cracked also. Looks like dry rot. The parts that allow the drawers to pull in and out also fell apart and/or cracked. I am waiting for the plastic holding the bottom glass shelve which goes along the entire width of the fridge to finish cracking so far this one has a hairline crack.I wrote back and forth to LG who did nothing but tell me they would elevate my complaint higher - but I think they meant lower - as into the trash. It has been 4 months since I gave them my serial number to move the complaint along as they said right away. My entire refrigerator is held together with duct tape. Lucky me that duct tape comes in white now. This is a crime that this company gets away with this. There should be a class action lawsuit. I work hard for my money and this is just unacceptable.
After only 5 years the compressor on my LG French door refrigerator has failed (LFC25776). Although the cost of a replacement compressor is covered under warranty we will have to pay for the labor and the service technician informed us that the replacement compressor will only be covered for 90 days. We have lost all the food in the refrigerator. We just purchased another 100 pounds of ice for the cooler. I had designed my kitchen around this new refrigerator and purchased all new LG appliances. After reading the complaints about LG I have decided to buy a new refrigerator NOT A LG. I hope an LG representative reads these complaints and reaches out to consumers -- the product looks great -- unfortunately does not last.
A couple years ago, we had a problem with the knobs on a LG gas range installed in a rental unit. The labelling on the knobs wrinkled due to the heat from the oven, and there was another problem that I dont recall now. After contacting a local appliance store and getting a referral for replacement parts available at a substantial cost, we contacted LG directly. They were very helpful and sent a new set of replacement knobs free of charge. Since there were a number of similar complaints posted at that time, I wanted to post this as a possible solution to the problem, even though my posting is long after the problem was solved.
We purchased the LG refrigerator in September of 2016. In July of 2018. The LG failed to cool intermittently. Over the course of a week, service was sent and could not find a problem. The issue appeared to resolve spontaneously. Exactly a year later we are having the same problem. We have completed the ridiculous instructions to unplug the power for 2 hours, then wait 24-48 hours to see if cools. We can expect service in 10 days. This is unacceptable, LG knows of the poor performance of this refrigerator and has failed to take appropriate action to resolve the problems in a timely manner.
I remodeled my kitchen in 2011 and installed a LG gas range (model LRG3093ST). My range is right at 2 years old. For the last 6 months, the knobs have been splitting and spinning on the posts so that they do not turn the gas totally off. At first I smelled gas and could not figure out what was wrong until one split and lost a chunk of plastic to the point that turning it did not turn the flame off at all. I wrapped wire tightly around the posts to limp along, but now all are broken to the point none will turn on or off the gas. When I contacted LG, I was told they were out of warranty and I would be responsible for the purchase of the knobs. I told MCM Electronics, which they referred me to, that I would buy more knobs if they are better quality - not plastic. However, they are only authorized to sell original (defective) parts and they referred me to contact LG directly. After reading these reviews, how does LG get away with continuing to provide defective parts of any kind that are dangerous? If this were a car, the units would be recalled or new replacement parts would have to be upgraded. Leaking gas and fires can kill as well as car accidents. I will certainly do better research before purchasing any appliance again in the future - I am sure it will not be LG.
LG Washer WTS5070CW - 1) Extensive rust around bleach entry port. Per LG cosmetic very common complaint. Washer was 14 months old. 2) Residual bleach from previous loads ruins clothes in next load. 3) Not a true high capacity washer. Shakes violently. Drum had to be replaced after damage from violent shaking. I have read many reviews. Problems 1 & 3 are common. LG top loader washers are LEMONS. $649.00 wasted!
This washer goes off kilter on any load that doesnt have exactly the same weight items in it. You cant wash jeans and tee shirts or flannels, even if you balance the jeans. A small load of like items works ok, but not much else. Large loads never fully agitate. Only the bottom of the load gets moved. The washer spends more time rebalancing itself than washing. Many times I have had to remove half the load and rinse and spin a few items at a time. Dont buy this washer.
Updated on 6/4/2020: They keep posting that they are here to help and I provided my number three times and no one calls!!!! I’ll be fair and retract post but so far I’ve received no call after a message to private message them. I was also supposed to get a call a week ago for food spoilage and nothing!!!!Original review: I am on my third LG counter depth fridge and the compressor went on all of them. 3 fridges in 6 months. Home Depot was willing to change our fridge and refund my money and that’s what I am doing. Do Not buy an LG fridge. Don’t. Just don’t...Oh and my 1000 dollar dishwasher needed a new control panel in a week. Sealed it out. Lg reviews that are good are usually people for most part that had their fridge for a couple months. Then if you need repair good luck trying to speak with someone that doesn’t sound like a robot and they don’t speak English. Just don’t do it!!!!
The LG is great. There is plenty of room for large trays or platters. Unlike most refrigerators today the design lets you utilize maximum interior space. Freezer is also very large. The only thing missing is sliding shelves. Well worth the price.
After 20 years and replacing many parts on my trustworthy but not flawless Maytag washer and dryer, I finally convinced my wife we should invest in a new set. Unfortunately, we didnt do our homework... she liked the LG set she saw at Home Depot, and away we went. I have to say, Ive made more expensive mistakes in my life, but not many.Theres not much to add that hasnt already been said here, regarding the uneven load syndrome and the fact that it takes all day and probably hundreds of gallons of water to finish what should be a 50 minute load on a water saving machine. Unlike others on this or other forums, I have NOT called LG. Based on all the horror stories I read on every repair site online, it seems pointless to even try. There seems to be NO recognition by LG at the vast extent of this problem with their products, and from what I see, no recourse by consumers. Of those who have gotten repair work done, many incurred significant expense for something that never should have happened in the first place. And for many, the repair (software, new circuit board, etc) was ineffective. The sad part is, I see no responsibility shared by any of the major retailers who sell these products.Im with everyone else - I will never purchase another LG product as long as I live, and Im really stuck with a decision of throwing away a washer that is under a year old, or living with this stupid thing until it craps out. Its apparent I will NEVER get my moneys worth out of it, so it seems pointless to hang onto it any longer really. The best we can do, I feel, is write to the retailers from whom we purchased these LG products and tell them about the issues, and let them know were not happy with their continued decision to sell LG products.
This range is the best. The ceramic top is easy to take care of and the easy clean oven is never dirty, and convection settings are a breeze with the quick conversion settings. We had one similar in our other home and when we bought this home it was a must. We simply love the convenience and ease of use.
We purchased a brand new LG washer and dryer from Home Depot in November 2011. As soon as we started using the washer, we noticed water was leaking from the bottom of the machine, which several months later caused heavy damage to the drywall and created black mold. Initially we contacted LG in November and a technician was sent to our home three times; however, they couldnt identify the problem. First, we were told that the sensors had to be replaced and then the machines had to be replaced. However, LG doesnt replace products, they try to fix it. It wasnt until June 2012 that we noticed there was mold on our baseboard. This has caused major stress on us since we have a newborn. We called an environmental company to come and inspect the wall and test the air in our home, which cost us $450, and LG still refuses to replace the washer and dryer. The problem with the dryer is, if you place comforters or a heavy load, it shuts off without finishing the complete dry cycle. I constantly have to check the washer for leaks and turn on the dryer every time it shuts off. I cannot understand how brand new machines cause so much trouble. We explained this to LG and they said they can only send a technician to correct the problem. So far, the technician has come twice this month and it still hasnt been fixed. I cannot understand how this company cannot replace defective machines. This is horrible customer service. We are disappointed and will never recommend nor purchase any LG products again.
I purchased a LG Refrigerator (model no: LSC27910SW) about 4 years ago. 4 months into it the icemaker broke. 8 months after that the lever for the icemaker would get stuck when you pushed it in forcing you to manually grab the lever to stop water/ice. Had it fixed again. 1 1/2 into it it started doing it again. We have been living with it like that. NOW the outside of the refrigerator is rusting all around the outside of the dispenser and on the corners of it. I live in Colorado. We dont have humidity. I E-mail LG 2 days ago. No response. Called LG today. They said Sorry but we cant do anything for you. I told them, I am buying a new refrigerator, do you want me to buy a LG again? His response was thats up to you. I will never buy ANYTHING LG again.
French door fridge rusting after 18 months and I have no ice maker! Follow cleaning instructions and I see little rust dots coming up everywhere...if I stand back its beautiful. So disappointed in it...soon to be a garage fridge I guess. Sad as I have bought a few LG fridges in past but this turns me right off them. KitchenAid maybe for next fridge...have to start saving pennies again.
Here I find myself reporting ANOTHER problem with our LG refrigerator that cost almost $3000. Its the three door with the freezer door on the bottom and is supposed to be wonderful because it has a linear something or other. The freezer compressor lasted just over one year. The labor warranty had expired and the compressor was covered. It still cost me $450 for the repair. Now, about one year later, the freezer has stopped working two more times with all the frozen food thawing. Curiously, after the food thaws, the motor starts working again. This happened to me again today. Fortunately, I have an old reliable Kenmore backup in the garage. I think that LG does not deserve another customer. Expect problems from them if you dare buy one. They should definitely be OOB. OUT OF BUSINESS!
Purchased the DLE8000V dryer and the WM8000H. A washer in Graphite, great in the store with bright lights, cannot read the front of machines to set the dial, lights around the dial make it harder. Dryer lint filter need to scrape lint off.
I bought my second washer in July 2014 after my 7 year old front loader quit working, I was told control board was bad and LG had quit making board. The LG rep still talked me in to giving them another chance with a new top loader telling me new design and really quiet with good reviews. Now theyve been out 5 times, replaced 3 parts and have been told by 2 repairman from 2 different companies they have no idea what is making this noise that is so loud I cant hear a TV in my great room. Still LG they need to randomly replace more parts because they havent spent enough money yet. In the mean time Im wasting 3 to 4 hours of my time every time they come out.
I cannot believe I have been duped by LG - I have had one problem after another with this refrigerator (LFXS29766S) that cost $2884.00 and was purchased in April 2015. Worked fine for almost a year. I called Home Depot where it was purchased when the ice and water on the door failed. They said, too bad it was 13 months after purchase and they only cover up to 12 months. Water failed again and had to be fixed. Now, it stopped cooling and no fan. Every service repair company turned me down to work on this fridge because they are notorious for being as one said crappy - needless to say, I am a very unhappy person and will NEVER by an LG appliance again. (I have a LG TV and dishwasher so they have lost a loyal customer.)
It takes hours to wash a load. Ive been doing laundry for 55 years. This is a piece of junk, albeit a very expensive piece of junk. Ive even gotten the famous UE message when the tub is completely empty and Im running the tub clean cycle. As soon as I can afford it Im going to Sears.
We purchased a new LG Front Loader along with the gas dryer about four months ago. For the last four weeks, weve been noticing that our closing is having a mold smell. I was advised about cleaning it out when done and leaving the door open until next load to help prevent the mold from growing. We have tried everything but nothing works; just smelling like mold in the Florida heat.
We bought the whole set from Home depot of the LG in wall oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. We recently ran the self clean on the in wall oven for the first time. It started smoking, locked and completely died. We had a service person come out and it was a faulty thermostat. They said they see problems when the clean cycle is run on these all the time. Cost $270 to repair, but it caused horrible brown marks to my cabinets. The oven is two years old. Were not sure what were going to do about the cabinet damage yet, but Im sure it will be a costly repair/replacement. I would not recommend the LG in wall oven. The service through home depot was horrible and all LG did was recommend a service person.
Within the warranty window, refrigerator ceased to work. LG set an appointment. That company called and changed appointment. Ok. Once I can manage. Same problem with fridge occurs, new appointment set, again company cancels and changes. In the interim, fridge stops working altogether. LG customer service takes the usual 10-12 minutes to answer and again long wait for appointment. Three days out! Company La Mesa Appliance, again cancels and changes appointment. LG provides no help or support.
Purchased French door refrigerator model #LFC20745ST in April 2010. After two years the plastic latch at the top of the door broke off. After contacting my repairman he advised me he could not repair the latch as he was barred from buying replacement parts. All attempts to have the matter resolved ended in a dead end with their customer service department. After several inquiries I was made aware that I could purchase the part from their certified parts distributor. I purchased the part and my repairman was able to install it. Unfortunately it is now 2 years later and the same part has broken. Apparently their products are not designed for long term use. Their initial stands for LG - this must mean LOUSY GOODS. I would not recommend their products to anyone and I will never purchase their products.
We purchased a LG 25 cu ft refrigerator on 11-21-13. Not a small expense, $1400.00, on sale, too. Model LFC25776ST. It lasted less than 2 years. We called the company, and got NO more than an answering machine, leave your message, and well call you back. NOTHING happened. There was NO response from the company. I will NEVER do business with LG again, and am still angry at the lack of concern or even response from the company. LG has shown exactly NO corporate responsibility.
Havent even had this microwave for 2 years and the clock is already broken, light stopped working inside and it was a expensive microwave to buy. Should have stuck with the one I originally had. Was cheap but never had an issue with it.
I bought a fridge 1 year ago and it has been repaired 3 times for the same reason. I contacted LG and each time, it was fixed. Obviously, its a bad fridge. I contacted Home Depot where I purchased it and they told me that after 3 events for the same reason, it should be replaced. I contacted LG, they told me that that’s not the case, that it is up to the technician to tell LG that it cant be fixed. What? Dont buy LG. Customer service sucks and they will do nothing except to keep passing you on to someone else and tell you sad, sorry with no action.
I like the freezer, fridge, multiple shelves, the shelves slide out to be cleaned and so do the drawers. There are four drawers including a cheese drawer specifically. I would put an ice maker in it. Also I would put a smart system into it to tell you when youve left the fridge open or tell you when its not working correctly and I would include freezer trays with purchase and water filter along with a digital thermostat. It has met expectations. I was very happy with value and price overall. This fridge is amazing and meets all my needs and or wants but if I had to choose one additional brand over LG itd be Samsung for sure.
Updated on 12/25/2020: DO NOT BUY LG UNTIL YOU READ THIS. 2ND COMPLAINT. LG has not followed up on resolving issue with our LG refrigerator as Promised. They have not responded to emails and only way to contact is through Consumer Affairs. We used unit 53 days and broke down. LG says not repairable and have to Reorder a New unit 11/20/2020, with a delivery date 1/25/2021. Louis, webmaster for LG, assured within 10 business days it would be resolved. I filed complaint 12/5/20, called 12/23/20 because LG has not contacted me. Ashley at LG stated that Claim and Case WAS NOT Submitted nor processed and have to resubmit and wait another 10 business days for their response, if any. LG wants us to follow up if they dont contact us after 1/3/2021. UNBELIEVABLE! We have not used our LG Refrigerator since 10/28/2020, look how long LG has Procrastinated in resolving issue. LG will not contact us, follow up or make our case a PRIORITY as Louis stated it was. When LG states on 12/23/2020 they have to resubmit claim because of their error and we have to follow up ourselves is disturbing. I am sorry to write a 2nd review, but again, LG will not contact us accept through this site. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE RESOLUTION PROCESS. All we want is our LG Refrigerator that we bought and paid for. Is this asking to much from LG?Original Review: Terrible Customer Service and Quality of 2020 LG Counter Depth French. Received on 9/3/2020. Broke down, No power at unit, on 10/28/2020. It took LG 19 days to inspect after missing 3 LG scheduled repairs appointments that LG set up for us. LG opened 5 Customer Concern Reports and Three Different Repair Orders. Refrigerator not repairable and none in stock through Home Depot. We had to Reorder another LG unit and paid extra for an ESP plan to protect ourselves, $195.00 dollars for an ESP plan to Protect ourselves. LG promised delivery 1/25/2021, UNBLIEVEABLE. Home Depot tried to elevate our New Order, 11/20/2020, but with no help from LG. Home Depot would rather upset an American Customer than upset LG, a South Korean Company, who lacks American Values, Culture, Empathy and Ethics. LG should provide FREE 5 year ESP plan with units to Prove that LG has Trust and Confidence in their Products.
This shows very irresponsible of LG Team as they were providing very worst services. As of now they are charging for inverter compressor as that have 10 year of warranty and refrigerator is only 1 year old. Means they are making fool to customers and their technicians are talking in attitude like if you want to take services from LG you have to pay for it. No options. Even such after taken multiple calls and mails with their officials not getting any positive response. Although they are delaying and showing irresponsible behaviour as only not getting revert on mail not getting any kind of support from them. They are totally making fool to customers. Request No. **. Product: LG Smart inverter compressor Refrigerator. Product No. GL-B201AHAW. Mobile No. **.
I purchased a French door stainless steel unit, Model number LFX31925ST. The compressor stopped working. I contacted LG, we went through a series of diagnostics, and the LG technical support folks confirmed that the compressor was the likely culprit, and that the compressor was under warranty. The first two service providers provided by LG would not service my unit. I called back. I got another LG recommended provider who did come out and perform a diagnostic, confirming not only had the compressor failed, but that the heat during the failure melted the internal coils, rendering the unit in their opinion non-repairable. This report was sent to LG tech support. LG tech support then claimed that they needed more info from their recommended technical service, requiring that I pay them again, to come out, disassemble the unit, take pictures, and concurrently be on the phone with LG Electronics. All this was done, with a promise from LG that this would get reviewed by their technical managers and that I would hear back by the close of business. Hearing nothing back, I contacted LG again the following morning (10/3/2018) and was advised by LG that they had not received the pictures so they were still waiting. Since I was standing by the vendor when he sent the pictures, and the LG tech support person was still on the phone at the time, this claim was dubious at best. I have now been without a refrigerator since 09/19, with no known resolution path. I am a Sr. VP of Operations & Quality, and this is the worst customer service experience I have encountered from a major corporation in my lifetime. If they are not going to honor their warranty, they should have the decency to say so, so I can shop for a replacement.
We purchased an LG WM1814CW washer and DLE2514W dryer six years ago from our local Home Depot. The washer truly has been a workhorse. We have no complaints about it at all. The issues we have are with the dryer. The drum split down its seam a year after we purchased it and was replaced at no charge, because we had also purchased the extended warranty. With a year to go on the warranty, we started having issues where the unit wouldnt start when the Start/Pause button was depressed. We didnt think much of it being that it was a rare occurrence. Less than a month after the extended warranty expired, the unit really started having major issues with this. Wed press the Start/Pause button, but the unit wouldnt begin the dry cycle. It would instead hum loudly and you could tell something was getting hot internally. I contacted the customer service department, asking if they would cover the repair because of the history with the unit. They flat out refused. Now this problem happens frequently and the only way to get the dryer going is to open the door, depress the Start/Pause button and the button just inside the door at the same time while manually rotating the drum to give it a jump start. Once the drum is rotating, we have to quickly shut the door hoping nothing gets caught in it in the process. If it does, we have to try it again. Occasionally it starts to go but then falters. If we press the Start/Pause button again, it may or may not go. We have been able to deal with it like this for the past 2-3 years. We did bring in a separate repairman to see if he could fix it, but he couldnt cipher what the problem was and ultimately gave up (after giving us his bill, of course). I guess one of the last straws with my dealings with LG was when they started sending us emails after refusing to cover the repair. The emails referred to my wife and I as valued customers. I told them in no uncertain terms that if we truly were valued customers, theyd repair the dryer at no charge to us.Because of the extremely poor customer service we received, I will never ever own another product made by this company. I dont care what the reviews are and I dont care how good the price is. Never again will an LG product cross my threshold.
The service for the repair on the refrigerator was great. The call center service for our food loss claim has been horrible. Can’t get a call back or a straight answer. Will never buy an LG in the future.
I had a kitchen aid dishwasher for 15 years with no problem. Updated my appliances and got a high end LG dishwasher. It is so disappointing. Bottom rack keeps falling off the track. Dishes dont get clean - have to prewash dishes. Silverware container keeps falling apart. Worst of all - after 1 /1/2 years it has stopped draining. $200 for a technician to come out. I feel violated. I thought I was buying a good brand and it is a piece of **.
Purchased a washer/dryer company WM3987HW at the end of last July. In December the unit flooded due to quality issue - technicians words on the report. Went a whole month without a repair because according to the report that they received it was an installation issue. They will not send me a copy of their report so I can compare to the one I have. Nowhere on my report do I have installation as the cause. Hours on the phone from customer service, supervisors and claims department and 5 months later still have no end to my nightmare. Im in the process now of having to prove to them that it was a quality issue. I have already done all this once in my application for repairs. This will be the third time that all the information has been sent.Second issue I have is since January my pump has been replaced 2 times with a service call in for the same issue. My unit is not working again. That will be 3 pumps replaced in 5 months. They will not replace the product and will not guarantee me in writing that they will replace the pump if it goes again after warranty. The only reason Im even checking off one of the rating stars is for those customer servant agents that apologized wishing they could do more for me but their hands were tied. Has to be very hard to work for a company that isnt based on ethics.
I bought an LG microwave model # LMS1271SS less than 2 years ago. The Magnetron crabbed out and now I’m planning to buy a Panasonic. Just ** LG products! Never buy another LG product again!
If I only had read all the reviews on the LG refrigerators... I would have avoided all the aggravation and expense. I Bought an LG refrigerator 1yr ago. I had it serviced 3 times... Freezer leaked and fridge did not stay cool... Spoiled food, wet floor (accident waiting to happen if I hadnt notice the flood)... This is nothing you want to see when you walk into your house after 10 hrs of work... After $600 in repairs had to get rid of it... Just a waste of $1100 + repairs. To top it off, had to purchase a new fridge... Dont buy LG...
STAY AWAY. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY DONT CARE ABOUT PEOPLE. TALK ON On One like a computer, no feeling. This is so sad. You spend 5k on a fridge and 5 years later they dont care! So bad! Stay away from LG! Give your business to another company!
We purchased a LG LXF28968ST/02 in March of 2014 from Home Depot and the 5 year protection plan as well. We have always had issues with the ice maker. Well it just stopped working in March of this year (2020) so out of protection plan. LG technician came out and diagnosed leak in the yoder loop. Unrepairable. Turns out after more digging, there is a class action lawsuit going on against LG for this very problem! I have reached out to the class action attorneys to get resolve. I like the style of the fridge but this is BS after just six years.
I chose LG for the brand name, style and price. I love the LG brand. Its always a really good fit for me. Ive never had problems or needed repairs and I havent had to buy any new ones. I like the ice maker and water dispenser and the way the shelves were positioned. It was overall a really nice refrigerator. I love it. I love it. I love it. I wouldnt trade it for nothing in this world. But the drawer could have been easier to maneuver. It sticks sometimes and leaks and is pretty difficult to manage but otherwise its an awesome brand and they should definitely try to work it out.
We purchased an LG fridge from Home Depot on the 19th of January 2011. This fridge went hot and destroyed most of our food on July 13th, 2011. I called LG and they ended up getting a technician out to the house that afternoon. LG said the issue was the control board, but the tech thought there was more. He ordered a compressor as well. Home Depot gave us a fridge to use in the mean time. They returned to fix this on the 26th of July. The panel didnt solve the issue so the tech went to install the compressor and found there was no freon in the system. LG didnt believe this was the problem after two days of waiting, so the tech had to come back on Friday on the 29th of July to install an evaporator with UV chemical in it. The fridge had a bunch of freon on the charge side indicating a blockage somewhere in the system. We had to run the fridge for all weekend and then late Monday, came back to find it still was not cooling or working. LG, at this time, said they may replace it. After a bunch of calls to LG and getting nowhere, we finally are being told they will replace it. This is another 7-10 business days with no fridge and no results. LG informed us that they will NOT pay for destroyed food. I would not purchase another LG product. We have 4 other LG products in our house not including this fridge. The customer service sucks and response times are unacceptable.
You know I expected that LG would be a good company and that if should something happen to my recently purchased LG fridge, that they would provide good service to me. How wrong I was. LG really let me down with not just their product - this new expensive fridge that broke that just after 1 year, but especially with their service. I asked if they could provide a service technician and the only one in my area wont repair the coolant system. So they purposely have the only technician in the Greater Vancouver area not do coolant systems. This seems designed to frustrate customers. They then said they could get another technician a week later who would cost $500 for labor (5 times the other service rate). In the end, I decided to scrap my fairly new fridge and get a KitchenAid fridge because its a better quality product and KitchenAid does right by its customers. LG is a really terrible company and I would recommend staying away from their products if you dont want to go through service hell.
I bought a dryer in spring of 2020 and since then I have bought probably 10 replacement lint traps because clothes get caught on the traps and breaks them then it gets clogged with Lint and we have to take a vacuum and suck all the lint out because we get a D80 or D90 code and the clothes dont dry. I am gonna have to buy a new dryer because of this problem. I definitely dont recommend it.
I purchased this refrigerator on 12/07/2018. From day one the ice maker did not work. Upon contact with LG they scheduled repair. First company failed to show twice. Ice make replaced twice. No fix. Then they required a second company to come. Again ice make replaced along with hoses and finally they sent a brand new door. Still the ice maker does not work. Today This repair company contacted the technical center to disclose it was not repairable. Tenth appointment. It is now August 12th, 2019 and I do not have this problem repaired. Beyond frustrated. You do not spend this type of money to have something not function. I would love to understand how this is good customer service.
My husband purchased this set less than 5 years ago. Our clothes smell horrible, like mold and mildew. We have tried the tub clean cycle on the washing machine, have bought products designed to clean the washer, and we leave the door and detergent drawer wide open when not in use to try to keep mold from growing. Absolutely nothing works! I contacted LG customer support and they said I had to get someone to service it. Why should I pay someone to do what I have already tried? There is nothing they can do that we havent already attempted. Like others have noted, the thing also will not stay level. My washer is on a top floor and it sounds like an earthquake when the spin cycle is going. The dryer is no better. The clothes are rarely even close to dry when it stops and I have to continuously keep running it for multiple cycles to get them to dry. I should have just kept my top loading Maytag instead of wasting a lot of money on this piece of junk. I never had to buy products to clean out mold and mildew from the top loading Maytag, much less pay someone to service it.
Initially I chose LG brand because I like their other appliances such as TV, Washing Machines, etc. When I bought the refrigerator that was the guiding and deciding factor, familiarity. What I like the most about the LG brand is the nice slick look. I like the brand itself in general. My favorite color in most appliances of that nature is stainless steel. I have been satisfied with the look, functioning and features of my LG refrigerator. I like the inside of the refrigerator as much as the outside. I like the design that allow me to pack my food nicely. Everything I need is neatly tucked away in a place that I am pleased and comfortable to reach and store it.
Updated on 01/03/2020: This is an update to my review from 12/26/2019. LG responded asking for my model # phone number etc and they would get in touch with me. They did, and told me the repairs would be covered. Great, I thought. Unfortunately the LG certified repair tech verified the parts are still not available to repair my fridge and they do not make the parts so there is no way he can repair my fridge. I have now been without a fridge for over a month without LG standing behind their 10 year compressor warranty. I have now spoken with over 8 different people in 3 different departments and nobody in LG customer service knows how to proceed.Original Review: The compressor went out on my LG French door refrigerator. LG sent a tech to fix it, and the tech stated LG no longer makes the parts for my unit even though the compressor is still under the 10 year warranty. I have spent 3 weeks without a fridge and about 6 phone calls with LG and they are not standing behind their compressor warranty. Im not sure how JD power rated LG so high with their know issues of failing compressors.
Purchased LG French Door M/N LMXS30776S/03 during Best Buy Labor Day sale September 2016. Purchased Geek Squad coverage, because, hey $4k fridge, that would suck. Immediately noticed $5/month drop in electric bill. Great start! March 2017 I start hearing noises that werent there for the 1st 6 months. Call up Geek Squad, they send someone out immediately. They diagnose problem as compressor, which they are not allowed to touch. Call up LG. It takes me 5 calls over 2 weeks to get a technician to come out. April 2017 tech diagnoses that the noise is within normal range, no fix available. Early August my daughter starts complaining about warm cheese in her sandwiches. No one else complains in the house. Late August I learn that I had sent my daughter to school with spoiled milk (I informed her before she drank it). Thought maybe it might have been older milk, but I was pretty sure it was fresh. 2nd Monday Sept. I touch a Gatorade that had been frozen and moved to fridge door and it is warm to touch. I take an instant read thermometer and plunge it into various food and drink and measure temperatures of 57, 57, and 51 (drawer) deg. F. Call LG. Am told it will be 3-5 days before I am recontacted by an LG tech. Sept 12. Call Geek Squad and the next day I have someone out who diagnoses that the compressor is not working. Buy ice cream because I thought the freezer was working as it frozen some leftovers on Monday. Alas, the ice cream is pretty much just below melting point. Sept. 13, 2017: Waiting to hear back from both LG and Geek Squad to see what path to take. Geek Squad has been incredibly responsive. LG, not so much.
The washer is nearly two years old and so far has worked flawlessly. It is nearing the average lifespan of todays appliances so we shall see. Washes fine for a new machine. But, all the new water requirements and soap requirements make the new machines not as good as the old ones.
Well this washing machine is AWESOME. Works great and I can wash 15 beach towels at one time and even King Size duvet sets and NO problem. I have had this machine going on 10 years and I have had No issues. Even sings me a nice tune when it is finished....
I love this machine. It is perfect in every way. It has all the cycles, gets my clothes clean and has a signal when its done. It also has a huge capacity, and handles blankets and dogbeds, no problem.
