Updated on 08/12/2019: I reported this product problem previously and a week later, received a response from LG saying they would do something about it. I sent the info next day and 4 days later they responded that they cant find the number. I respond again same day, now three more days go by. They still cant find the number so I send model and serial number again (from the sticker inside refrig). And I added that this is a refrigerator, our food is spoiling, please call me (and gave my number) as if it was your familys food. FIVE days more, another message, We still cant find the number. It took me 6 minutes to find out the first three digits of my model number meant LG Electronics. Youd think two weeks would be enough to find the rest of the number. I would send a picture of the product label if there was a way to do that. If they really wanted to fix this problem, they could have called me and we would be this far in 10 minutes, not two weeks. I got sick last night, and it was probably spoiled food. Im 76 with a heart condition. There are so many facts to give here that it sounds like Im ranting instead of just giving the details. Maybe thats their strategy. Take the money, stall and make excuses until they stop. But I wont. I was using private mail so they could work fast and do their job. For some reason, some department at LG is just as bad as Sears. I know how to broadcast that.Original Review: $2200 LG made refrigerator completely fails after 18 months. Stops cooling/spoils food and almost new. Technician tells me its a known problem affecting 1000s of products. This is a brand I had trusted. Am told I need a board and possibly a compressor. $1000. I will ask them to fix it and will spread the word on what they do.

I purchased an LG top load washing machine and have been completely unsatisfied since the day I bought it. My clothes suddenly smell. I was told that is because on newer machines the drain is closer to the clothes, if that makes sense. The drain pump has broken twice. It is not a part that is in stock, so we often have to wait for the part to get it before the machine can be fixed. It also has the off balance problem that many have already mentioned. It is hard to get it balanced. Obviously, this washing machine has a defect with the drain. They should take responsibility and replace it, but are not willing. I would echo what others have said already--do not buy LG.

I have had nothing but trouble with the LG Dryer #DLGX3571 which I purchased in August of 2015. Weve already had service on it once before and now are in need of service again due to no heat in the dryer. My husband notified LG of the problem, the fact that we have an LG Premium Care extended warranty and that the problem was that the ignition was not working. My husband was told that the earliest day for service was today which is 6 days later. Today the technician arrived and confirmed that the problem was the ignition but DID NOT HAVE THE PART!!! Worse still, the part cannot be obtained until next week and then we will have to schedule ANOTHER SERVICE DATE! So we will be without the dryer for at least two weeks. I find this unreasonable and unacceptable. In addition to the present problem, I have found that only two of the dryer settings are useful - the manual setting and the air dry setting. On the steam cycle settings, clothes finish in the same condition or even more wrinkled than they are using the manual setting. The cycles do absolutely nothing in terms of removing wrinkles. In fact, in my experience, clothes are more wrinkled at the end of the steam fresh cycle than they were at the beginning. This dryer is expensive and I could have bought a simple dryer without the cycles (which do not work as claimed) that would have been much less expensive, provided the same drying quality and probably would have been broken less often. I am convinced that if you purchase this product you will be greatly disappointed in its performance.

Weve had this washer for about 2 years now and it is a terrible machine (the model is WM2050CW). When I wash shirts (4 or 5), I get soap stains on the shirts. The shirts have developed little pills (I do small loads at a time). If we dont keep the door open at all times we get a smell from the washer. It uses such little water I cant see how clothes could possibly be clean. We bought this at a Sears Outlet store. The washer and dryer were returned by a customer and we know now why. These were issues with the washer right from the start, but its just getting worse (and more and more frustrating). I wish wed bought a cheap top load washer. It takes forever to do a load of laundry and while it uses less water, it takes twice as much electricity. I thought it only fair to alert you to our dissatisfaction before we start to share with others. We had only heard good things about LG, but we will never buy another LG product, and we will urge anyone that will listen not to either.

I have been more than satisfied by the performance of this refrigerator brand, for almost 12 years now and its still working. Only this previous days when I notice that it stops performing what it intends to do. As I am an aircon technician myself, I immediately examine the unit and the only problem that I found is the PCB control needs to be replace. Thats all. The last time that I service other LG ref, I can easily bought those parts and, voila, its good as new. But now they change those policy. You cant buy the parts now. They keep on insisting that they will only do repairs, so I keep on wondering - how will they do some repairs for those minute parts of electronics in the PCB & keep the customer waiting for weeks? Are these the way they treat consumer after? So now Im considering to buy another ref. Perhaps as a consumer weve got to stick to the brand from the past for good after sales service even though the appliance is long overdue in service. Ive been with the LG service when its a GOLDSTAR brand name. Its their first brand name when they enter the market and they keep on saying that we need to satisfy & address the consumer needs & complaints for us to be known & admired by... so what now that this is one giant brand name???

Ill just make it simple. I bought a $3000 LG LMX3195ST refrigerator on 07/30/2011. It has been broken from day 1. I have fifteen complaints filed and documented with LG. They have replaced warped door seals. They have unthawed it twice. They have been out to disassemble/reassemble it from where MEI repaired it incorrectly and they replaced the motherboard. The unit still has error codes and the ice maker gets stuck in the on position. The first repair company, MEI, was horrible. The company had no diagnostic tools and where a no show, no call. The second company, A&E, I thought was pretty good and well equipped, but now stated by LG will not return their calls. After listening to the guy from MEI complain the whole time he was here about how LG was underpaying him, I would be willing to bet that there might be some kind of issues in this area. LG has not been able to call me and notify me of the trouble finding a repair center; instead I have waited as long as 13 days before I finally call them and just repeat the cycle. I refuse to give up and I will fight LG to the end!

We purchased our French Door Refrigerator in Nov. of 2011 from Home Depot for over $2500. We had not problem with the unit until May of 2014 when the it stopped working. Calls to LG resulted in a service call but we did have to wait for several days for service which of course means you have to find a place for all your food so you dont lose it. Ok - repair guy came out and replaced the fan assembly behind the freezer stating that it needed a stronger fan to keep it from freezing up. OK - unit was noisier than before but it did work. Until May of this year when the same thing happened again! Same repair guy - same fix. After he left it did start making a louder noise so we called him back. When he came back he said that is just the normal noise the new fan makes and rather rudely left! This week the unit quit working again!About six weeks later the last call - we unplugged it and plugged it back in but still had to move all the food again since it was thawing out. Had to wait 24 hours for the repair guy to come once again and apparently unplugging it caused it to reboot because it did start cooling again. ** the repair guy walked in, pointed his infrared thermometer and said Well - it is working, there is nothing wrong with it and refused to do anything else - accused of yelling at him - which we werent and stomped out of our house! Subsequent calls to customer service were not very helpful. They all give you the same responses like they are reading it off of cue cards - all denying culpability and trying to put it on us instead of admitting that their product is faulty! And this model has had a class action lawsuit against so we know there is a problem! My advice - do not buy an LG product. They are not the quality you pay for and if you have a problem, you will not get any help from them at all. Their consumer service department treats you without respect and without true concern for taking care of the problem.

We purchased an LG refrigerator; it has French doors and with a bottom freezer. Shortly after it was installed, the freezer started accumulating ice. We had it repaired several times because the electronic circuits were defective, and the problem recurred. LG refuses to take responsibility for the problem even though they have re-designed the circuit board at least ten times. My repairman told me that they have this problem since the refrigerator came to the market. I have paid hundreds of dollars in service calls, and the last time I spoke to their customer service department I was met with complete indifference. I was told that there was nothing they could do for me. Another issue is with this unit is poorly designed; it has a very flimsy hardware for the crisper drawers that keep coming off the rails. That issue was also not acknowledged.

On September 24, 2007 I purchased an LG refrigerator (model # LRSC26923TT), dishwasher and microwave at Gabowitz Appliances, East Brunswick, New Jersey. At that time I purchased an extended warranty for the refrigerator. The refrigerator needed to have the icemaker replaced within the year. The repairman told me it was a defective part and since then, it has had to be replaced four times for the same reason. The icemaker melts and becomes deformed. LG keeps replacing the defective part with another defective part as they have not fixed the defect. My extended warranty expires in September, 2012 and from hereon in, I will have to pay approximately $350.00--the price the repairman said it will cost--when it again needs a repair since it was again replaced with a part that is the same as the defective part (as per the repairman). When I wrote to LG they just answered that it is out of the manufacturer’s warranty and they have no obligations.

My late husband thought he was treating me to a beautiful machine. It has been nothing but trouble since day one. Water twice all over floor ruining carpets, unbalanced loads, shaking when spinning. It is mainly the water dumping that is getting to me. I was running Tub Clean with a semi-bleach product recommended for HE machines, and I heard drip drip drip once again. Shut machine off and have to pay for a same day visit as same day is not covered by service contract. I was told last time by someone from LG, Its a 2 year old machine. Really? Our two month old LG Microwave Oven Model LCS1112ST bit the dust yesterday and I immediately contacted LG Customer Support. After jumping through all the hoops sending them a receipt, proof of damage, etc., I was expecting my $ back since it had a one year warranty. I received an e-mail saying in order to process my claim, I had to buy another LG microwave before they would consider any refund. Completely unsatisfied with this nonsense, I called and spoke to a gentleman that passed me on to supposedly the supervisor. She said that we were to send a letter explaining why we bought a GE microwave instead of an LG microwave along with additional documentation. Why would I buy another LG product? LG does not stand behind their warranty! DO NOT buy any LG product! They simply want your $ and they do not care about customer satisfaction!!!

Our fridge failed completely after just over a year. While LGs customer service has been polite and pleasant, they have done nothing to help. We are now without a working fridge for a week so far, with no end in sight. Weve already had one no-show repair appointment, followed by me calling twice a day for the remainder of the week. Despite an escalation to a manager, I still received nothing but empty promises. I finally convinced a customer service rep to just give me the contact info for the authorized technician and guess what - it will be almost another week before they can get out.Further escalation to the Executive Service team has been no better, with them finding a closer-in appointment and then having it disappear from the system seconds later. I am now waiting for a call back, in which I fully expect to be told sorry very nicely and expect nothing to be done. I would like a refund at this point, Ill take my $3000 and buy a better made fridge from someone else.

I purchased an $1800 refrigerator in the Spring of 2020 and it stopped working 9 months later. It is 9 weeks since I first reported the problem to LG. Two technicians sent to my home and authorized by them can not fix the broken compressor. LG is refusing to replace or refund and keep directing me back to customer service where we start all over again with overseas representatives reading a script and not seeming to grasp the situation. In trying to figure out how to reach a human who could move forward with a promised replacement, I discovered tons of other disgruntled customers dealing with the same frustrating experience: non-working products still under warranty that LG is either incapable of repairing or unwilling to replace or refund. Not worth the risk—buy another brand.

Have owned this dishwasher for 18 months and has never, never worked properly. I have not once gotten a clean load of dishes from it, even with pot scrubber, extra rinse high spray. There has been water stuck in the filter, foul, foul odor coming from it. Was foolish for once and did not buy extended warranty, so now stuck with piece of junk. Have had the E1 error code on it, appliance repair came out, ran through their diagnostics and came up with nothing. Week later same thing.Have now been on many forums looking at other peoples same complaints. Worse thing is with that error code there is no shutting it off. Mine is hard wired and need electrician to come in to disconnect it. Spending more on repair people and electricians than the piece of junk is worth. Would love if LG sucked it up and came up with recall on this product $899 later and is piece of ****.

Our refrigerator went out about 3 weeks ago. We had one repair technician come out who said the compressor and motherboard needed to be replaced. He ordered the part and 4 days later came to do the repair. Upon disconnecting the compressor, he said there was something else wrong with the refrigerator as there was no Freon in the system. He indicated that either the evaporator was bad or there was a leak in the line. He said there should have been Freon in the system when he disconnected the compressor, but there was none. He indicated we needed to contact LG to have them send out one of their service technicians to complete the repair. That is when all the problems arose. LG issued a repair order and a new technician called us. When he learned that another technician had opened the refrigerator to change the compressor, he said he would not touch the refrigerator. We call LG back and requested the work order be directed back to the original technician at our request, but to our dismay, the technician said he did not have the equipment to do the repair. Since then we have been trying to get in touch with LGs executive services and they saying they will call us back if we get disconnected. Sure enough, when they attempt to connect us to their Executive Service group (about 2 or 3 times), we get disconnected and have not received a call back.We contacted several companies that LG has referred us to call and found one that said they would come out and evaluate the refrigerator, but we needed to get a work order from LG assigned specifically to them for them to come out and work on the refrigerator. We are still waiting on LG for that work order. What else can we do?

This is a great refrigerator....when it works. The compressor went out in year 4. This year, year 5, error Code Er Rf appears. Ice built up around the evaporator and blocked the fan so the fan burned out and the refrigerator did not cool. Serviceman shows up but did not have the part so we had to wait another week for repair. After the repair, a new error code, r dH which involves the defrost cycle came up a week later. Likely what caused the fan to go out the first time. I called LG for service and was told I would be called back to schedule service in 2 days. This is day 6 and no call. This is a very expensive refrigerator and well worth it....if it works. Extremely poor customer service for repairs.

I am SOOO disappointed with my LG experience. We have a refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, washer and dryer. We have had problems with ALL of them, but the worst with the fridge and oven. We even have trouble with our LG Tv and Blu-ray player! I thought we made a smart decision with choosing LG 7 years ago, because they were the latest technology and trend. My best friend had bought all LG the year before and was happy with it. But then the problems start (even with her). I have way too much to say if I speak of all the products, so I will focus on the fridge. The fridge stopped cooling with no warning whatsoever when it was 4 years old. We had to scramble to get a couple coolers with ice to save all our groceries.I called LG but they wanted to charge an outrageous amount just for the service call, about $80 and they said that doesnt include fixing it. So if their estimate would be too high and I would want to go with someone else, they still get $80. So I called a local company who specializes in LG. Their service fee was only $25. They came out and said it was either the compressor or a relay. If it is the compressor, it would be about $800, which is half the price of my $1600 fridge. Thankfully it was the relay, which was $125. But they can only guarantee the part for one year. Worst of all, they didnt have the part on hand and had to order it. We lived with no fridge, out of a cooler, for 3 weeks!Sure enough, 2 years later, same thing happens right when we return from vacation. Thank God it didnt happen while we were away! So once again, everything is melting and we have to scramble to save the food. This time they put a stronger relay, so it was $150, plus the $25 service fee, and they happened to have it, so the silver lining was we only lived out of a cooler for two days. But the tech said the compressor is extremely weak and I am lucky if I get another year or two max out of the fridge before it dies. At that point the fridge was only 6 and a half years old!! I simply dont have the energy to fight with LG because of all the bad reviews I see on the customer service. So I want to warn all the consumers out there to prevent this from happening to them. Choose another brand. On a side note, my stove/oven stopped working 6 weeks after the fridge went out the first time. Great timing lol. The digital panel stopped working after the numbers started fading months before. Well, because its digital, you cant turn anything on. I wish I still had the old school one with the knobs because the digital panel cost $250! Thats half the price of the oven. And of course only one year guarantee on the part. Thankfully, its been almost three years and so far so good. But if it happens again, I dont want to invest that much again into this piece of junk. How can LG be okay with doing business this way?! And of course this stuff happens once its out of warranty. We live paycheck to paycheck, so when this stuff happens, it really hurts us. We thought investing in high end products would pay off in the end, but we worked hard to pay off over $5,000 over a few years and got screwed :-(. I did not get extended warranties because I believe if the company makes good products I shouldnt need to. What happened to products lasting?? I sound like my mother lol but they really dont make things with pride, like they used to. Her 20 year old fridge is still going strong! If LG sees this, they should offer me some kind of credit out of good faith, but I have low expectations. At least I can warn the innocent consumers who work hard for their money.

We recently went through 4 months of renovations. What a nightmare and the contractor is not coming back to do the final touchups. We had our kitchen completely gutted and when it came to appliances we purchased and LG range and fridge. Both are working just fine. It takes a bit of getting used to when going from appliances from the 70s and 80s to new. We have had no problems with the fridge but then we have only been using it for a couple of months. The stove works fine. I thought getting a new stove would mean that I would wait a shorter time for a pot of water to boil but no. We are having a problem with the smell of gas every time we use the range. Whether it be the oven or burners, we smell gas. There is conflicting information on the internet as to whether this is normal. We shouldnt be able to smell gas in other rooms other than the kitchen but we do when we use the range. The other issue which is major is the knobs for turning on the burners. This is a complete safety hazard and how this design passed any safety inspections before selling to the public is beyond me. I have singed my long hair twice, once reaching into a cupboard near the stove and another cleaning by the stove just because I barely leaned against the range. The knobs turn by barely brushing up against them and instantly the burner is on before you can get out of the way. If my children were still small I would not keep this stove. It is a accident just waiting to happen. I find this design terribly irresponsible for a company to have and this range should be recalled. I also find the venting of the oven across the cook top not the best design also. When I use the oven and the burners at the same time too much heat is being created and at one time our range hood fan went off on its own and didnt shut off until the heat had dissipated. At the same time the oven vent causes the pots on the stove to heat up even more than from being on the burners and the handles can not be handled unless using a pot holder. It bakes well. We find we use the convection more because on bake food isnt crisping up as much as we would like. I guess thats the difference between electric heat and gas. Companies need to stand by their products better. Our old fridge of 25 years is still going on strong and has been relegated to the car port as an overflow fridge. I am certain that these new appliances of today would never last that long. If the new LG fridge goes we might have to bring the old one back inside. Oh and our 2 year old Samsung T.V. just completely died. What quality!!!

LG (Life is NOT good) Front Load Washer - WMM3670HWA. The first 2 sets they tried to deliver were damaged. I waited about 10 weeks to finally take delivery of the washer and dryer in October 2017 and put them into service in November 2017. Ill never buy LG again. 100% piece of crap and all LG wants to do is send someone out to repair it but they never really repair anything. The clothes never really get clean... When I use the speed cycle, it consistently gets stuck at 7 minutes and never spins out and it will sometimes time-out but more than likely I have to hit the power button to shut it off. The regular cycle will get stuck at 4 or 6 minutes and then after 30 minutes it will jump to 11 minutes and then 2 to 4 and then 11 minutes and do it again and again. I have had 3 service appointments. The 1st tech assessed it and talked to the factory and agreed to replace the motherboard, so he came back out to replace the motherboard. The next day it started doing it again. The 2nd/3rd service was a Factory LG tech who had a motherboard and control panel shipped to the house prior to his appointment without talking to us or coming out. The machine is still doing it. I was told by support it was because I use too much soap, I use their lines of how full to fill the soap!?!? I was told by their out of the US support team I would have to pay for the next service call. I was promised 3 call backs and never got them and then had the supervisor of the Alabama Tech Team hang up on me when I asked him if he would pay for my time off of work, water bill, electricity bill and extra time trying to get someone to fix this piece of JUNK!! I was told I have to have another tech come out and look at it again. I have to run a load of laundry and cross my fingers I hear the chime that says it is done. I have to run a load 4 to 5 times before it will finish a wash cycle 1 time. He told me nothing proves is it is a piece of junk and they are following the warranty. I told him I could take a video to prove it and they laughed at me. There is ABSOLUTELY NO HOPE of this ever working normal. Biggest waste of money... So regret this purchase!

We bought an LG LFXS29766 in a new home build in October, 2017. Two days ago we came home to water on the floor, the cold box with a temperature of 55F and all the frozen foods half thawed. The repair technician told us today that it is a compressor failure and now I see that we are far from the only one. In fact, a Google search starts with a Class Action Suit against LG for just this problem. We lost all the food in our refrigerator & freezer and it will be weeks before it can be repaired. We paid thousands of dollars for this refrigerator and how are we going to keep food cold for the next weeks? I never would have bought an LG if I had known that this was a known problem.

We bought 27.6 cu ft french door refrigerator in June of 2013. LG should be disappointed at the quality of workmanship. The compressor on our unit just failed, and it will cost us hundreds of dollars to replace. The kicker is not the cost of the repair, or the poorly made unit we spent thousands of dollars on, it is the time we have been without a refrigerator, and all of the stuff we have to throw away and replace. LG set up a preferred vendor last Friday, it is now Tuesday, to come look at it. We are still without a refrigerator, and LG continues to tack on additional charges to fix their poorly made product that is under warranty. The inconvenience on a family of 4 with 2 small children heavily outweighs the damage to the pocket book.

My biggest problem with this dishwasher is the racks are poorly designed. Whoever designed these racks couldnt possibly ever loaded a dishwasher. Glasses fall over unless the glass rack is full. Consequently, if you dont run the dishwasher every day, as you pull the rack out, any glasses previously placed on the rack, fall over causing broken glasses. The lower rack where one would usually place small plates or bowls is designed in such a way that the posts are staggered so the plates & bowls wont line up. If I ever buy another new dishwasher, Im taking dishes with me so I know they can be properly & efficiently placed.

Purchased LG fridge LFC22770 in 6-2014. Two months ago food began to defrost in freezer. Called their service. The touted built-in diagnostic signal did not transmit a code. Was given phone number, after a 45 min. wait, to a TV repair business. What a joke. This morning we smelled burning electrical odor. My husband removed back cover and sparks were shooting out and wires had already melted. Imagine if we had gone to work or been on vacation?! Total hazard. Could have easily ignited cabinets next to and above unit. What if this had happened while we were asleep! The nightmare of the repair or replacement still awaits us as this is Saturday.

My LG refrigerator LDC22735SW has broken down three times in five years, once while under warranty. Presently, the fridge is sitting in my garage due to me refusing to spend any more money to repair this junk. The last time an authorized LG technician inspected the fridge and gave me a list of parts amounting to $386.55 plus $100 service charge only to see if a compressor is needed or not. I have not been able to get a repair manual or parts to repair the fridge myself. I am very near writing LG = Lemon on the fridge and putting it in front of my yard to become part of the landscape. How did we come to be sitting ducks?!

We purchased our refrigerator in August 2016. In February 2019 it stopped freezing and cooling. I called LG and the customer service (800 243 0000) and was scheduled for a service call the following morning. Based on the description of the problem the customer service rep advised there would be no charge for the service call or repair. (She didnt advise why, I didnt ask because I was thrilled after reading the other horror stories on this site.) The technician, Bryan ** called me about 15 minutes after the call to confirm our appointment the following morning and ask me about the problem so that he could ensure he had what he needed on the truck to make the repair. The next morning Bryan called when he was on his way to my house. (Within the time window that was scheduled. Another thing that doesnt happen that often that people actually show up in the time frame they are supposed to.) He began working at 10AM and finished by just after 11AM. He would courteous and very competent in making the repair. It turned out to be a failed/faulty compressor which was replaced with a new one. I already loved the fridge, I am extremely pleased with the customer care by all three LG employees I worked with in this transaction. Thanks!!!

We purchased this refrigerator Dec. 15, 2014 its not a year old and still under the factory warranty. This is the second time that we have had this problem with the refrigerator not getting cold. May 2015 was the first time someone came out and adjusted the temperature, the same problem happen again around September 11, 2015 where it wasnt cooling or making ice. The day I got out of the hospital, I come home and everything in my freezer had thawed out and spoil. I began calling immediately but no one seems to put themselves in our shoes. We have been without a refrigerator since September 18th, 2015. Someone from Jebco in Saraland, AL. came out on September 23, 2015 said that he had to order a part and for us to unplug our refrigerator until he return on Monday September 28, 2015. Well Monday came, his clerk called to say that he would not be able to come on that day. I was so upset that I hung up on her, but later called back to apologize, later that day she called LG to inform them that she did not think I was satisfied with them QUOTE: Im not satisfied with anyone because everyone has a refrigerator and we dont. We are having to keep water in a cooler and having to go out to food because we cant put anything in the fridge. All we are asking is for them to give us another refrigerator, nobody seems to be able to accommodate for our loss. We are still paying for a broke down refrigerator, its notfair. I thought customers were always right and came first, well it seems that is not a true statement, because if it were true they should make sure that the customers are happy and satisfied to every extent.I am so dissatisfied with HHGregg and LG, I am letting everyone know not to deal with either one of them because they dont stand by their word of satisfying their customers. Is there anyone that can help me please come forward to give me some advices? We have spoken to so many peoples and nobody doing anything.

On June 28, 2020 I noticed my fridge was not keeping things cold. I called a refrigerator repair company and it turns out my compressor went bad. I have only had the fridge for 5 yrs and 3 months. I called LG customer service on June 29, 2020, and was told they would replace the part but wouldnt pay for the service. It is going to cost over $600 to have the compressor replaced. I did some additional research and it appears LG has a problem with defective compressors. In fact, there was a lawsuit filed against them for this very reason. I asked to speak to a manager about the repair cost and Vergie refused to transfer me to one. She also would not provide the name of the manager that said they would not cover the repair costs. Its not like I asked for a new fridge, I just want them to pay for a problem they know they have. This will be the last time I purchase a LG product!

We purchased our home in 2/2015 which came with LG washing machine purchased in August 2013. Machine started showing UE/balance error by September. In first call to LG, we were told we needed to level machine. We did so, but machine was already leveled. Soon after, UE warnings began to appear during sheet washes and tub cleans. If we are not on top of the cycle, machine will run for hours spinning and then refilling then spinning again. Called again and told since we were out of two-year warranty we were responsible for call and repair. Technician recommended by LG said circuit board was gone and would cost $300 for part. One more call to LG, and we were told they could do nothing for us. Technician said to just purchase new machine as we would be throwing good money after bad. So we are replacing two and a half year old machine that was used since purchased by two owners who were retired couples and have minimal washes. A huge piece of junk. I would NEVER purchase an LG appliance again.

I bought a new LG top load washer in March 2013. In a months time, the washer started constantly getting an error message UE. After taking 2-4 hrs to wash a load, because of this error, I called LG. A repairman was sent to my house within 2 days. He said that the computer panel had to be replaced, that this had been a problem with many of these washing machines. He came out about 10 days later, and he replaced the computer piece. It worked for a few months, and the same thing started happening. It is now September, and I had to go out and buy a brand new washing machine. The guy that sold us the new machine, told us that these computer chips burn whenever there is a power surge (we had several lightning storms recently). He showed us how the panel lights up and will eventually burn out. He also said, that it was a good thing it did not start a fire! Needless to say, I will never buy an LG product again! I spent almost a thousand dollars on a machine that I had a total of 6 months.

I bought this LG 5-Burner Gas Stove about 4 years ago. The actual stove works great! But, unfortunately, LG really messed up when they designed the plastic knobs. Not only are they cheap and the inside of the knob breaks, they are very dangerous. If you keep the bottom stove open while you are cooking the plastic knobs melt. Whats even worse, is the knobs cost a minimum of $25 each to replace and the knobs havent even been upgraded to metal. I purchased from Home Depot the LG front loading washing machine model # MW
I purchased from Home Depot the LG front loading washing machine model # MW2050CW in April 2011 so this product is only 7 years old. It started making a loud grinding noise in the spin cycle, so I called LG directly to see what I should do. Someone from their technical department asked me to start the spin cycle so he could hear the noise. He quickly diagnosed it as bad bearings. Since the machine was out of warranty, I was transferred to a different department, thinking I was still talking with LG. I was talking to Assurant Warranty, who LG uses to provide repair service when their appliance is out of warranty. However, I wasnt informed that I was no longer working with LG which I believe is very deceptive. I signed a repair contract for 3 payments of $95 each on Sept 28, 2017 to begin the repair. A local repair company called Authorized Appliance (would not recommend them either) sent a technician on Oct 2nd. He also turned on the spin cycle, listened to the noise and confirmed what LG had told me over the phone was bad bearings. He performed his diagnosis in 10 minutes. Within 2 weeks, I received a call from the warranty service stating they had received the technicians diagnosis and authorized the repair. On Oct 28, 2017 the second payment of $95 was charged to my credit card. Early in November, I called the repair company to be told they were still waiting on 1 more part to be delivered which was the drum for the washer. On Nov 13, I called the warranty company to hear from them what the delay in fixing my machine was all about. They were unable to reach the repair company due to a large volume of morning calls and asked me to try them later in the afternoon, but assured me they were staying on top of this. I finally reached the repair company on Nov 21st only to be told that Assurant had canceled the drum order because it was no longer available. The drum has a lifetime warranty and to be told the part isnt available on a 7 year old washer is completely a rip off by LG. During the same phone call with the repair company, they told me that Assurant informed me of the decision on Nov 2nd and had already refunded me and that I had cashed the check. Both were lies so now I know Im really getting the run-around. At this point, I called LG directly twice, and spoke to a final person who said my complaint was being directed to the special customer service department of LG for a decision. I was told that I would hear back from them within 3 to 5 business days. I confirmed that Wed, Nov 29th was the last day I would hear from them. That was yesterday!! I will call them today and demand some answers how they are going to correct this problem. By the way, I was charged $100 (which will not be refunded) for the 10 minute service call. DO NOT BUY A PRODUCT FROM LG ELECTRONICS, INC.

We bought a front loading washer and dryer. About three years later, the washer is shaking so hard it sounds as if it will tear down the walls and cave in our floor. The washer shakes so hard, it moves across the floor knocking into other items as well as the dryer. We called LG and were told it is no longer under warranty, but shaking was due to an unstable floor. I told her the floor has not changed, only the washing machines performance. The representative stated that all of the washers shake a little, this was to be expected. I asked if there was a part that could be replaced to stabilize the machine. She said no, there was no such part.A few days later, I looked up an appliance repair company that works on LG appliances in our area. The repairman told me LG had this problem and it just needed the struts replaced. So we had them replaced. It was better, but not as stable as before, not like any of the previous washers Id had throughout my life. I trusted LG to be an upgrade in quality. It was not. After only six months, it is as bad or worse than before the struts were replaced.Additionally, weve put heavy duty pads underneath. It just walks right off the pads, tipping over as if it will fall on its side. This washer is worse than the old wringer type with the incredible noise and the bouncing and moving. My husband and I have to restrain it or turn if off. And like some of the other owners, it does have a stinky, moldy smell. Mold is not normal in a machine designed to clean. Ive been leaving the door open after each wash, spraying inside the drum with Lysol or Windex.Cleaning clothes is an effort toward good hygiene. Moldy water defeats that purpose. Yes, standing water creates mold, but what is wrong with a design that causes mold to proliferate like this. Perhaps Maytag, Kenmore, or GE could teach the engineers at LG something about designing for public use. If this were normal, as the rep would have us believe, it would seem appropriate to include these features in the sales material - LG Front loading washer has a normal smell of mold in the machine which naturally transfer to your clothes. Another very normal feature that astounds LG consumers is the washers ability to mimic a wild bucking bronco, leaping and jumping out of its stall. It is a relatively expensive purchase. Consumers expect quality to equal cost to equate value. I dont want to feel like I have been duped and bought a piece of trash. LG has changed my opinion of its products - washer & dryer, refrigerator, microwave, internet TV - I cant trust them no more! We believed that your Life is Good motto included us, not just you.

When I first had a problem, the ice maker was overflowing the tray and freezing it to a solid block. I had bought this and kept it in storage while building so by the time I had actually used it, the warranty was gone. They were no help at all and I never talked with any people who were less knowledgeable about a product in my life. They did nothing and then later called to see if their service was okay. The only thing they ever said to me was that they never heard of that problem before--never made an attempt to help in any way. I finally found a parts supplier and ordered a new tray and found that they had changed the design because the one that came with it was defective when built. The new one doesnt work good either. It still overflows and I have to break the ice up with a knife. It is a constant struggle to get it to work. Now after a couple of years dealing with that, I started to get a buildup so that it would freeze the whole system up and I could not get any ice out the chute. This time the flapper on the chute was broken and would not stay in place, which let warm air in and melted and refroze everything up. This means I have to take it apart every week just to get it to do anything. I have taped it together with Gorilla tape and hope it will work until I can change it for a new one. This product never worked from day one and it has been a constant struggle just to use it. They have been zero in help in any way. Their customer service is the worst I have ever dealt with. This is my last LG anything.

We also splurged and purchased the LG combo after being told they were the best. We had them 4 months and the washer began to leak. We had the service people out 7 times. Of course, it would not leak when they were here. We also had the disgusting odor and high-pitched scream when filling with water. The service men informed us that it could no way be their problem--it had to be something we did. They also had no idea how to get rid of the smell. We were still under warranty at the time. I had to keep taking off time from work to be here when they were here. The last time they were here, though, I walked in on one of them talking to their dispatcher complaining that they had been here several times and they were making no money on this call. Isnt that great? I have a faulty washer and dryer and they are worried about money? What about the money we spent on these relics? Needless to say, that was the last time they were here. I just happened to ask a sales lady at Home Depot about the odor and she told me about the front panel and draining that tube and actually running Clorox bleach through the machine. She also said do not use Downy whatever you do as it builds up on the drum and does not come off and always leave the washer door open. But, now, there’s a new problem: the light never goes off in the washer. It used to. I emailed LG and their response was you need a service call. Are you kidding? If there is a class action suit, I want in. I have not talked to one person that is happy with their machine!

Purchased a new $2K+ LG refrigerator 4 years ago as part of an entire kitchen suite. The compressor (sealed system) failed, and while the labor wasnt covered under warranty, the parts to repair the refrigerator was covered. I had a LG certified technician make 5 separate visits trying to repair my refrigerator and it was never fixed. It simply will not cool anything in both the refrigerator and freezer. Thus, Ive had to go out and purchase a new refrigerator at my expense. Ive tried to go through the LG process whereby they would consider replacing or reimbursing my refrigerator. They have continued to deny my request, thus the reason Ive been forced to purchase a new refrigerator to replace my LG unit that was barely 4 years old. After the third visit, I requested a refund, and the company wanted an original receipt and was just horrible customer service, and I was told that process could take 14 days. I was told without a receipt I wouldnt get a refund for their defective item. I am glad I had a receipt, but the customer service was so horrible went it came down to the refund process. After months of fighting with them, they finally replaced the original unit, and now the new one is dead! Called them up and they start giving excuses for not replacing the second one. I will buy a new microwave - I just dont have the energy to fight them anymore and even if I win, cant go another 3 months without a microwave...It doesnt matter how cheap LG are, there is a reason they are cheap... Dont fool your self - youll spend less if pay more.

The gas oven went on the fritz 2 years in- took apart, tapped on the ignitor tube and started working again. Stopped once after using broiler - got it going again by tapping on igniter. Learned to not use broiler but now oven and broiler both stopped today. Very pretty stove and worked great for 2 years. Not happy.

Have this refrigerator for about 2 years and it has quit cooling twice in fridge and freezer. Getting repairs seems to be a big problem as LG says cant find technician in my area. We bought our refrigerator (MODEL LFX3194SST) March of 2013. From HH Gregg in Kennesaw Ga. Paid $3000 for it and bought an extended warranty simply because it was an expensive item and had a lot of computers in it. It quit working within the first year and LG sent someone out to repair it. It was the compartment in the freezer that contains the fan that blows cold air into the upper refrigerator section. The same thing happened again in March of 2015. It was under the extended warranty then. In the Atlanta area it is Tanstel who handles warranty for HH Gregg. I would rate Tanstel a minus 3 out of a scale of 1-10. That bad and that unprofessional. I expressed this to HH Gregg retail store and also to corporate office. The store seemed concerned even though they could do nothing to help. Corporate office was a joke and we ended up insulting each other, so I think Im finished buying from HH Gregg. Anyway here it is July of 2015 and my refrigerator is broke again. Same thing for 3rd time. Fan in freezer is frozen that blows air into the refrigerator. So no refrigerator and Tanstel doesnt seem to care if it gets fixed in a timely manner. So Im begging you, please dont buy anything with LG name on it. Read all the other reviews on the internet. They look good, but rust, dont work and you will be sorry. Youve been warned. And ask who made the appliance if you buy it from Sears. It might have a Kenmore name on it but ask who made it.

I bought my LG refrigerator five years ago around 2013. Within two years the compressor failed. LG replaced it and paid for labor and parts. Now 2018 compressor fails again. LG sends me the parts and says it’s up to me to get it fixed but the compressor is under a 10 year warranty for parts not labor. Problem is nobody wants to touch it. I’ve continually asked LG for help and they refuse. Worst customer service and refrigerator I’ve ever bought. Cost was over $2500.

I chose LG for the brand name, style and price. I love the LG brand. Its always a really good fit for me. Ive never had problems or needed repairs and I havent had to buy any new ones. I like the ice maker and water dispenser and the way the shelves were positioned. It was overall a really nice refrigerator. I love it. I love it. I love it. I wouldnt trade it for nothing in this world. But the drawer could have been easier to maneuver. It sticks sometimes and leaks and is pretty difficult to manage but otherwise its an awesome brand and they should definitely try to work it out.

Ive been trying for a month to get service on my dishwasher. Although the 1 year warranty is gone, the board is warrantied for 5 years. First time I called LG they gave me 2 phone numbers for 3rd party service in my area. I called them several times and never got a call back. I set out to look for my own 3rd party service and contact Sears because they advertise that theyll fix any appliance whether you purchased it from them or not. The repairman showed up this morning and told me that Id have to call LG to get approval from them to have Sears be the 3rd party vendor. The service fee would be $99. That was OK with me.I called LG and was told that they had a local LG authorized service in my city. I got transferred and spoke with them. I was told that they would schedule a repair if I paid $125 up front and then the charge me for the installation of the part (which was free). That would have amounted to over 30% of the total original cost of the machine. I have no idea what to do now. I was able to submit an email to service to see if I get a better answer. Regarding other reviews about how dishes stack inside the washer, I have to agree. I always had issues with glasses breaking because they fell over. I change the way I put them in. The thing I liked about the dishwasher was the short Turbo cycle. It was 58 minutes and did a good job. If you buy an LG Dishwasher be sure to purchase the extended warranty.

My dishwasher is not heavily used (6x/week) and within 18 months of owning it the stainless finish on the control panel (around the POWER) button started to wear off. I was told this was outside the warranty period and could pay to replace the door (for essentially 1/4 of the price I paid for the dishwasher). The dishwasher has been fine, not spectacular (the dishes are often still wet after drying overnight, I have tried every combination of drying cycles to improve this). Overall very disappointed in the quality of the dishwasher, wont be buying an LG product again.

LFX25991ST/05 LG French door counter depth refrigerator - I actually love/hate this refrigerator. It has worked well. I love the ice and water dispenser, however, it appears to be caving in. There is a long crack at the top running into the inside of the dispenser. When the water dispenser is pressed it moves the entire wall inside the dispenser. The frame of the entire dispenser is actually crumbling piece by piece. We have no recollection of ever dropping anything or anything falling on the door dispenser. We have no warranty left on it as it is now almost 3 years old. So we are faced with the repair. Frankly neither of would have the strength to push so hard the plastic would crack. I own an LG stove, microwave, washer and dryer. I am not unhappy with any of these - performance wise.

Our new (under 2 year old side by side fridge/freezer) stopped cooling. I tried doing the smart diagnostic app and it said it was working fine. I tried to make sure doors were sealing fine, they were. I called LG. They said it might of done an auto defrost. I was told to unplug it and it would reset it that temp would return to normal in 12 hours. We woke up the next day to a flooded floor. All food in freezer was defrosted. Refrigerator was at 65*. I did the smart diagnosis again. It said it was fine. Called LG and sent them the diagnosis and they said to unplug and wait 6 hours. I lost all food and temp Kept dropping. I was told to put food in coolers. Most was trashed. I was told they could send a repair person in 2 weeks!!! I did the best I could with food in coolers but lost it all. LG was not helpful.A repair person came out earlier than quoted and it seemed to be working (known compressor failure) yet now temp is plummeting again. At this point I just want a full refund to buy a new non LG fridge. I’m hoping temp increases, yet I just emptied ice so hopefully if it fails it won’t ruin my new floor. I just bought food to replace the food lost. I have no other fridge at my home. 4 days and it’s not working again. Reading all these reviews makes me sad that this brand is allowed to sell these products and hold hard working families like mine hostage.

We purchased this refrigerator from Home Depot in April of 2016. One year in, we started to hear a loud rattling sound. The repairman said it was build up of ice around the fan. Fan had to be replaced and fridge defrosted and told me to keep all the seals maintained with vaseline to keep it from happening again. Now, another year later, the unit has stopped cooling. All the food in the freezer had defrosted and fridge was warm. LGs website listed two service companies in our area. First one doesnt do fridges anymore. Second one had terrible reviews so I didnt call them. Had the same repairman come out that did the fan and he says the compressor has failed. This really needs to be a class action suit against LG... So many people have the same issues and we paid close to $4000 for this refrigerator.

Purchased an LG Side by Side the year it hit the market in 2016. Ive makes stopped working in 2017. Not a big deal because Ive is cheap and easy to make. In January 2019 I discovered that the refrigerator had completely stopped working. Unit was purchased from HH Gregg which has since closed down, leaving me no option but to contact LG directly. It is now well into April - 3 compressors and multiple technicians later - unit still does not work. The latest compressor was put in 2.5 weeks ago. The technician told LG techs that day that the unit was beyond repair and needed to be replaced as a lemon. LGs solution was to schedule the same tech to come back to my home on 4/16 with no new parts of instructions. On top of losing enough groceries to feed our family of six, now we have to added expense of a rented refrigerator. The useless unit is taking up the majority of my dining room. Calling their consumer line is a joke since all you get is a call center with absolutely no knowledge or authority. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT give these people your money. They have absolutely no interest in repeat business so they are perfectly willing to sell you defective products with complete disregard.

My 3 yr old LG fridge compressor stopped working. It is the linear compressor and when the technician came to repair the fridge he stated the compressor needs to be replaced with an updated model. This did not fix the fridge. The 2nd attempt was a different company that stated the first repair was wrong and replaced the compressor and lower evaporator. This still didnt fix the fridge. The first tech returned and stated the lower evaporator was installed incorrectly and attempted a repair with little confidence it would work. I have contacted LG and they refuse to replace or fix the fridge at this point because I cannot find the receipt. I contacted the location I purchased it and I am unable to get a copy of the receipt. At this point the $3800 fridge is just a large paperweight that will cost me to recycle. LG has horrible customer service and refuses to honor their warranty and back their service techs work. I would not recommend buying LG and will not make another LG purchase again.

We purchased a matching LG Tromm washer and dryer (front loading), approximately three years ago. For at least the past two years we have had a terrible time with clothes smelling sour and mildewy after being washed. Subsequent researched turned up countless complaints about this same problem. Weve tried many fixes some of which seemed to help a little, but the problem would always returned. The dryer unit started making a terrible thumping sound after about two years of use. I still do not know exactly why this is occurring. Some of what I read suggested it was the silicone wheels that get warped from the heat. Other posts indicate it is a problem with a crack in the barrel. My biggest issue at this point with the dryer is that it has never dried the clothes very well. I routinely have to run two or more cycles to get the clothes dry, especially things like jeans and towels. In addition, this morning I noticed that the dryer actually stops before the end of the cycle. I had it set for 1:43 Anti-bacterial setting (ironically to help with the smell from the washer), but the dryer cut off after only 30 minutes.Considering how much we paid for these items, it is very upsetting and frustrating. I have not contacted LG, in part because so many have done so to no avail and I dont have time to waste on such useless attempts.

We bought the LG Steam Washer and the Steam Dryer, with pedestals in December of 2008 from Best Buy for more than $2,600. Were a retired couple, doing a maximum of 3 loads (not large) a week. 5 years later, the washer makes a horrendous noise on the spin cycle @ medium speed or higher. Some of the dryer cycles dont run as long as theyre supposed to (and the clothes are still damp). I called LG and they gave me the name of a certified LG repairman in our area, who told us that we needed a new rod and bearings for a total of more than $600. He said we were lucky it lasted this long!!! I called LG back to seek some other recourse, and a customer service person who could barely speak English said there was nothing they could do for me. I sure wish Id read the comments on this website BEFORE purchasing an LG. I will never buy another LG product.

Purchased a new LG Steam dryer-DLEX3370W and washer in June 2018. Within 2 months of purchasing the dryer would not come on. Interior light would come on but electronic panel lights would not, so it is a bad board. Called LG for warranty service. Never received another call from them ever. Service repairman came 3+ weeks later with a front panel plastic part, knowing the dryer would not turn on. He threw the part in the box and stated LG sent him the wrong part. I stated I knew he orders parts not LG. LG confirmed this also. Said he would order a board and be back another day. I filed a complaint with him due to him lying about the part along with him not even opening the dryer to diagnose the problem. I have called LG every few days for 3 months now regarding the status. I am told pending. They asked for receipt of the purchase, I uploaded it to my claim. Then 2 weeks later asked for it again, uploaded it. Never in 3 months has anyone from LG called me to let me know the status. They refuse to give anything in writing also. This dryer has a lawsuit against LG due to the stream drawer and a house fire. After 10 weeks we finally purchase a new dryer and expect they would reimburse us due to not being able to find another repair company to come out to our area. They asked me to upload the receipt, I did, along with our Governors state of emergency in our county due to flooding in Texas, I did that also as asked. Today, 11/8/18, I called and spoke with a Supervisor in Executive Services who was not customer friendly, stated the claim had been denied last month! No notification, nothing! I asked for the address to send a small claims notification letter. LG Legal Dept, PO Box 24007, Huntsville, AL 35813. We will be filing a suit not honoring the warranty of a 2 month old dryer. FYI, a lawsuit was filed for a house fire due to the steam drawer.

We bought our top loading washer from Home Depot about 4 years ago. Thank goodness we invested in the extended warranty at the urging of the Home Depot salesman. I am sure he had heard many complaints about this brand. We had the washer less than a year and the drum broke. It took more than 11 days to get the washer fixed. I have 6 kids. Think of the laundry! Nightmare! The customer service could care less that having a broken washer was a huge inconvenience. Also, what does that say that MANY people were having issues with their machine and the wait list for service took 2 weeks?Fast forward 1 year and now we are dealing with a broken pump and the washer will not drain. We are on day 14 with a broken washer. The part has been ordered but LG did not rush it so we are literally at the mercy of freight shipping. We still have those 6 children. Laundry = Nightmare! Aside from the mechanical failures, the washer does not get our clothes as clean as our old, top loading washer that we had for 18 years. We often have dark brown mold splotched streaked across our clothes, sheets and towels. I bleach a lot and the musty mold is still an issue. I am continually cleaning the mold from the rubber seal. This is an awful appliance. Very disappointing! It is an expensive piece of junk. I do not recommend anyone purchase an LG washer unless you are a glutton for punishment.

I couldnt believe that when I called customer service, we were told to turn off the circuit breaker for 5 seconds and then turn it back on. The code was F1. We noticed a hairline crack in the interior wall of the refrigerator near one of the shelves. The microwave door keeps lowering on us. Purchased a LG range model LSB5682 in Dec. 2009 from The Brick with a 5 year extended warranty. Within that period I had 5 service calls - 4 of 5 service calls have been for the control panel stops working. Trans Global comes in and replaces panel and we are fine for a little while. Its gotten to the point where the tech comes in and does not touch the range he just orders the part. Spoke with LG recall department they told me its not normal and they cant do anything about it.Trans Global only does temporary fixes instead of looking at what breaks down the panel unless they know something I dont which brings me to the lemon policy. Its only good for the first 3 years. If I knew this after the first repair I could have bought a new range with the money I have spent feeding my family at restaurants every time it breaks down because I have to wait for the part 3 to 4 weeks. We purchased an LG French Door, bottom freezer and all the other LG matching products in advance of moving into our new home. Refrigerator, Double Oven, Cooktop, Dishwasher and Microwave. This last Fathers Day the refrigerator did a meltdown during the festivities. By the time dinner was over, so was the refrigeration abilities of a 2 year old $2500.00 appliance. We had purchased a 5 year protection plan. We called the Home Depot with all the paperwork, account, model numbers in hand. After the typical automated system trying to get you to do everything on-line we were finally in contact with someone who pretended to be interested. After the painful research in order to verify our warranty, the finger was pointed at LG. During the transfer to LG and pushing all the buttons to get me to the right department, someone eventually picked up the phone and hung up on me. Back to the Home Depot warranty line, wading through their automated phone system and again on line with a human who gave me more information that was neither warranted or needed, told me that LG would have it fixed in 24-48 hours. I was happy for the moment. Finally, again through the automated System and long wait “because of the virus” I got to speak to someone who again had to verify the existence of our warranty. Oh boy, this is how I wanted to spend my life! I explained, the purchase, warranty, model number, code inside the door, yes it was plugged in, yes the light came on, yes the ice maker had no ice, no there was no cold air when I opened the doors and no the water dispenser was not providing cold water. Yes it was really broken.Three days later, an appliance center 50 miles away called in a very non-English speaking voice called me to confirm that I “had a refrigerator LG that is not working and can be repaired” Yes she did say “refrigerator LG”, if I set an appointment and paid for the repair at the time of service and would have to call LG for reimbursement after the repair. This offer and the person didn’t sound like a viable and credible situation. I asked if they were following up on my Home Depot Claim... no answer.I called Home Depot, went through the automated system again and they said to stay away from this offer and wait for LG To call. And they were so interested, they assigned a “case manager” to my claim, oh boy. My “case manager” called, we went through the whole story, again, and she assured us that she was “on the case”.Two days passed, the mysterious appliance repair shop left an automation voice mail, “We can fix your refrigerator if you call us and authorize us to order the parts. The parts will take about a week to arrive. We can then set up a service appointment”. We called our “case manager” went though another automated system asking us if we would rather find what we wanted “on-line” waited and finally got a real person. Asked for Ashley to which we got silence and “do you know what department she’s in?” More time another explanation of the story and then finally Ashley’s phone rang, and rang and rang and then Ashley’s electronic explanation of how to use the Internet to get answers and how to leave a message for her and she would call right back. She did, seven hours later. She then came to the realization that we had lost all of our food, drinks, and no refrigerator at all! For the last six days. It’s Friday night, but before she goes home for the weekend she’s going to “send an email to our local Home Depot to see if they can let us borrow a refrigerator on Monday” Assuming that we can easily do without a refrigerator til then. I asked if this week long period was typical of the wait for service? She said “unfortunately this isn’t very long at all, it may take weeks”. Tomorrow, Sunday, will mark the seventh day of eating out, buying bags of ice for the milk and juices and regretting we were so naive to spend more money on a warranty, and NOT to go through the product reviews posted by others.

Advertising LG is life is good until you have a problem with appliance. Covered part but not labor. Had refrigerator for 24 months into a 120 month warranty. The approved service provider charged labor and service call which is NOT covered by the life is good company. The service technician stated he had already replaced three other linear compressor on LG refrigerators in my local rural area. Shouldnt there be a recall on them?

We bought a LG refrigerator and since the time we received it the ice maker
We bought a LG refrigerator and since the time we received it the ice maker has not worked correctly. We called LG and they would tell us what to do over the phone. It would work for a few days and break again. This happened 3 times. Then the ice maker broke completely. We called them to come out and they said it would be in a week. When the week rolled around they called and said they had no one that could come and fix it, and would call when they had someone. After waiting for a week I called them to see what was going on and they said they had no one that could come and fix it but they would schedule it for 2 weeks from today. No guarantee they would be able to come out. I asked to talk to a supervisor. After explaining the situation to her the supervisor told me she didnt care if it was fixed or not, the appointment that was scheduled or not. This ice maker has never worked and we have to run to the store everyday to buy ice since it very hot out. I cannot call another tech out because they said it will void our warranty so the supervisor said take it or leave it, I dont care what you do.

Our refrigerator which cost $2,300 stopped working on Feb. 1st. A call to the number in the manual connected me to a call center somewhere in the world to a person who did not understand English. They referred me to an LG authorized repair service. After 2 weeks and 3 visits and $372.00, the refrigerator still did not work!!! They told me that I need to get an LG factory technician.I called LG who then told me that I must purchase a 60-day extended warranty for $253,29. They set up an appointment a week later with another LG AUTHORIZED repair service. On the day of the appointment we called the service only to be told that he was too busy and that LG did not send him the parts which he needed to do the repair. I called the LG number again who made an appointment with another service. It is now 3 weeks and they are still waiting for the parts!!! To be continued. I thought Comcast and AT&T were bad!!! LG wins the booby prize.

LG Microwave Oven Model LRM1260SW. I purchased it in 2009 at Best Buy for $200.00. At the time, this was considered to be a high-end price for a table top microwave oven. We noticed that the turntable was sticking. My son looked at the rotating ring that supports the glass turntable and noticed that there were pieces of plastic flashing that had not been cut away after the part came out of the injection molding machine. So we cut the flashing off and the turntable worked fine. Then a month later, the light bulb burnt out. We havent yet replaced it because we dont yet have the right tool to open that part of the oven wall to get at the bulb. Then we noticed a burning smell that occurred sometimes when we used the oven. It smelled like plastic burning. Then we realized that the turntable was again not working. Were not sure when it stopped because the light is not working. My son finally got a day off and turned the oven over to open it up. There was a section of the bottom panel that was proliferated so it could be pried off. My son removed the section and it revealed a burn out synchronous motor that turns the turntable. The gear that was made of plastic was literally melted, (thus the burnt plastic smell). We will replace the motor for $25.00 and the light bulb for $8.00 and try to use it as a back-up appliance. But the easily removable panel on the bottom of the oven indicates that they expected this motor to need replacement, (planned obsolescence). I bought this oven to replace a perfectly good running Sanyo oven only because the Sanyo was 24 years old. I will contact Sanyo and determine what their best oven is and buy that. No more LG anything for me.

I am currently overseas and purchased an LG F1443KD front loading washer 3
I am currently overseas and purchased an LG F1443KD front loading washer 3 years ago and as a lot of people have experienced the rotor plastic splines have stripped out. As soon as the washer started acting up I tore into it. I can replace the rotor here for around 80 dollars, so I am not even contemplating going through the hassle of the warranty and having to pay for the service call and then be at the mercy of someone else. So this is the cheapest and easiest route by far and I will have my washer back on line in a week. In the meantime I do have a smaller unit upstairs that will suffice until this one is fixed. So will I buy another LG? I am on the fence on this one. Maybe if I get a great deal. LG has been around for many years, but they were not always called LG. What I read is they were previously GOLDSTAR.... and if memory serves me correctly, GOLDSTAR was something you would buy at the supermarket.

I bought this three years ago after doing a lot of research. I never thought I would need to buy more of a warranty for this unit. Two people and basic regular use it’s not working anymore. I lost all the food in my freezer and likely the fridge. I’ve checked under the unit and checked the coils and the fan is blowing and the air coming out is really not cold. My freezer is approx 40 degrees. Really sucks to spend so much and have nothing three years later. My last was an Amana and lasted a long time! So disappointed????

We purchased all new kitchen appliances just over 2 yrs ago in Dec 2013. 1s
We purchased all new kitchen appliances just over 2 yrs ago in Dec 2013. 1st the microwave was delivered dented. They came in and ordered replacement parts which were delivered dented not once, not 2x, not 3x, but 4 times. Then the fridge/freezer stopped making ice, needed a part replaced. The range/oven door glass was developing uncleanable stains in between the front of the door and the inside of the door. Then the oven door started to have a weak seal causing the top of the door to become dangerously hot. My legs were burnt a couple of times when removing items from oven. The door was replaced. The dishwasher stopped working because of a clogged hose. After calling LG for help many times! They sent a tech. And the parts and labor were covered although out of warranty. 2 days later another part went on the dishwasher and again is not working. 1 day after the microwave is not working either!!! Seriously? I cant tell you how many phone calls it has taken to get some positive response from LG. Call after call there was always a reason why they could not help me at that moment and asked that I call back. The customer service is awful! I spoke with several hours, kept me on the phone from 15 to 20 min at a time and half the time they would not even record or take notes of the call! I have missed work and sleep over this and all they can say is we are sorry for the inconvenience. They have no clue. I want these appliances gone! And replaced with another brand. Anything else would be an improvement. Stay away from LG!

I have purchased the dual front load washer (WM3470HVA) and dryer (DLGX3471
I have purchased the dual front load washer (WM3470HVA) and dryer (DLGX3471V) on Oct 24/13. This past February the extended warranty expired. Did not get my 400.00 gift card. After the warranty ran out my washer does not turn on. Had to google the problem many others are having. Need to unplug the machine, hold the buttons, then plug back in. The lettering on my washer and dryer started wearing off after couple of months. Called Sears. They do not cover that under warranty. Last night I called LG support, the person that answered my call did not know English too well and he did not know much about the products. His conversation was um, um, um. Poor customer service. This was the first time I purchased a LG and it will be my last. I have had Kenmore appliances for over 15 yrs never a problem or repair. Hoping in finding a solution for the lettering on my control panel. I will never recommend LG products to family and friends, very bad choice. In future it is best to check reviews before purchasing any products. Lesson learned!

I purchased the LG French door/bottom freezer refrigerator in December 2011
I purchased the LG French door/bottom freezer refrigerator in December 2011. May 2012 was my first call for repair. I found the freezer totally defrosted all my food and the refrigerator was hot. I called LG and got a customer service rep that couldnt care less that I lost a lot of food in a brand new $2600 refrigerator and the best they could do was send a repairman out in a couple of days. The repairman came out and replaced parts and boards. The problem has to do with the fan, I was told. Now its August 2012 and I awoke to a freshly stocked refrigerator once again hot and all frozen food defrosted. Once again I called LG and got a customer service rep (if you want to call him that) that was rude and non-empathetic about the situation. He proceeded to tell me that he sent a work order to the repair people and I will need to call them in half an hour to confirm they received the work order for repair. They call that customer service. LG knows there is a big problem with these refrigerators. I cant believe after reading all these complaints that nothing has been done about LG. I will never buy another LG product nor will I recommend their products to anyone.
