My LG refrigerator was purchased in 2015 and stopped cooling in the end of May. I have a home warranty service. Hence, I called them to come check out. They evaluated the unit and concluded it was a very common cooling issue with LG refrigerators. They ordered the parts from LG as the refrigerator is still under warranty. It’s been almost one months since the parts were ordered. Yet we still haven’t heard back from LG the estimated arrival time of parts. The LG’s response was the parts were out of stock. It’s been extremely frustrating experience with LG. If there is an option not to give any star, LG deserves 0!!!!

After the freezer broke the fault has been diagnosed to a small leak that the technician cant find, He said LG would replace the fridge with new one. After all its only 2 yrs old. Still 3 weeks later and being told by LG for me to call the tech for the report and find out what is happening.... Promised phone calls never returned. LG Lifes grumpy.

Our 6 yr old fridge went out due to a power glitch. We called in an appliance repair service since the fridge was out of warranty. When they came to fix it the part was wrong. He checked the part number & it matched. We called LG to see what part number they gave us & are in the process of ordering it & returning the other. LG needs to get their part numbering system straightened out. How can service people give good service if they can’t get the right parts.

I bought my refrigerator (LG Refrigerator LFXC24726S/02 MODEL#502krpv10848) 8/17/2015 at Plessers in Babylon. I also purchased the extended warranty. Since I purchased the unit there was a problem with the motherboard computer within the year because it was covered under the manufacturers warranty. July 21, 2018 my refrigerator stopped working and I called the warranty and they sent Mr. Appliance out on 7/26/18. The first visit the repairman Rob said it was a Freon leak and they had to come back to determine where the leak was coming from. I had to reschedule and they came back on 8/1/18. The repairman Bob, said that it was the compressor that had to be ordered directly from LG. He said it could take awhile. I called last yesterday afternoon after repairman had left and every time I called it was a picked up and then a hang up all afternoon. I spoke with LG today and was hung up on. I have been without a refrigerator for almost 2 weeks and I have 3 teenagers with no fridge. We are living out of coolers! I have called LG, NEW LEAF (warranty company), Mr. Appliance, and the retailer Plessers. Everyone keeps passing the buck and doesnt take responsibility. They all seem to feel that its normal to be without a refrigerator for 2 weeks plus! I was told by Mr. Appliance it could take a couple of weeks to get the compressor and then I have to call for another appointment to have it installed. This is totally unacceptable! I want a loaner or a new refrigerator! I will NEVER buy from PLESSERS or an LG appliance again.

I have an LG refrigerator that has the known compressor issue. It failed within 3 years. Customer service was difficult to deal with. They eventually shipped part & agreed partial payment for repairs. From The LG authorized repair list given nobody would come & repair it for months ahead. I finally found a repair service available. With the consent of LG customer services I did the repair for $650. Submitted a receipt & was only reimbursed $200. Yet LG in court said “labor covered for 5 years”. Now at 5.5 years the product failed again. I spoke with customer service. They stated as an “unauthorized repair service was used all warranty is void”. Yet they knew who I was going with for the repair, have a copy of the receipt on file & previously authorized a partial labor payment. What a slippery way to get out of liability for a known product design defect. Customer services then terminated the call. If this is the treatment you want if/when your product fails, which it most likely will if it has a Linear motor, you have been warned.

LG LRE3023ST - At one year and 5 days the glass top broke, we did not drop anything on it and LG sent their service people to look at it. Their service people verified that it should not have broken, yet they refused to pay so we paid $500 for a new top. Today at 2 and a half years old, the stove is unrepairable. Service estimate was $800+ and its not worth fixing. My last stove lasted for 30 years! Absolute junk and LG will not do anything about it. I called today to see and was only told its out of warranty so its my problem. I will NEVER buy LG anything again.

Have a LG Dishwasher Model LDS4821ST. After purchasing this and about 2-3 months later notice a bad odor. A few days after cleaning dishes it smelled like something died in the unit but the smell was inside. After putting off calling LG I could not stand the smell any more so I emailed them. They e-mailed me back with recommendations such as Check your disposal for odors and try putting in vinegar and run a cycle with no dishes. Did not help the odor still there.A few days later this was still barely in warranty. I emailed again and they gave me a claim number and a repair service to call, the service guy said You still have to pay and that claim number is a conversation number not for me to charge LG. Repairs that would cost $300 and replace a part is up to me and you will not have the odor again. Yeah right I think it a bad design on the draining system that bacteria starts to develop. They do not stand behind their products. I even stated in second email that if the service guy says its my fault I would pay for the call. At this point I am probably going to buy a different brand. My KitchenAid lasted for 12 years with no issues.

We bought a new LG fridge with our home and it lasted about 6 months. Quit making ice. I called LG and they determined the compressor was failing after a month of service calls. They ordered parts, canceled my appointment 2x, finally someone shows up and says, We’ll I don’t think the compressor is bad. We said, Well 2 other people said it is so replace it like youre told. He did and it failed. The fridge never got cold. Ruined all the food inside overnight and when we pulled it out he had damaged the back panel. Called the repair group and was told they couldn’t come back out. It was up to Lg. Again called and jumped through all the hoops with Lg and now we’re waiting another week with no fridge or freezer. Had to go out and buy a chest freezer. They don’t care at all. Do not buy a LG fridge!!!!

I purchased an LG washer 21/2 years ago from Home Depot and last weekend it failed during a load. I could not get my clothes out. The main PCB board failed. This washer was only used for a couple of loads a week. What really bothered me was the treatment I got from LG. The service people kept hanging up on me and they would not do anything for me even though they had a service bulletin out identifying the board as a problem and had developed an updated replacement board. Stay away from LG equipment. Their equipment is not reliable and they do not stand by their equipment.

We purchased a new LG french door refrigerator from Spencers in January, 2015. The 2 year full warranty was purchased at that time. The refrigerator compressor broke in May, 2018. The compressor was warranted but NOT the LABOR ($600). After researching, found there are tons of LG compressors going bad. LG should stand up and warranty their bad products when they know there is a problem. There is only 2 of us using this appliance and should not have happened. $2,500+ and this is what we get. I will never purchase another LG product!!!

Bought a 30 in. W 20.2 cu. ft. Top Freezer Refrigerator in Stainless Steel with Multi-Air Flow and Reversible Door (Model LTCS20020S/00, SER 106MRKU08461) on June 19, Delivered on June 26. It never make any cold. Call LG, sent a service person come on July 1. Said no refrigerant and he had no license to handle it. Called again and again and send another service person come on July 21. It was said that the compressor is out of order plus other issues. Need to order parts which is a back order and will take a long time waiting.Called LG asking for a quicker solution. After a long time talking negotiating with a manager called Frances, Frances said waiting for over 15 days (it was almost a month at that time) was not acceptable and said would allow for reimbursement. She also gave me a number to do text communication with her and promised to respond in 24 hours. She did respond in the first several days but just asked me to wait. Then she never respond.Another lady called Garilee from the Return Authorization Department also texted me in another similar number to follow up. She first told me it was scheduled to have someone come but no one had come. Then she did not respond for a while then came back asking for update. I text her and never get response. I called again today (August 6) asking for talking to Frances. The customer service did not give me any chance but kicked me to the Return Authorization. Then I was kicked between the customer service and the return authorization a couple times. So, what I can do except desperation.I am not blaming Frances or Garilee for not doing what they said would do. It is all because of the attitude of LG to its customers. It reflects that LG cares much more on keeping their working procedures and dollars than taking responsibilities to care its customers. LG rather saves a few dollars than keeping customers away from suffering. Customers suffering from no use of refrigerators for one and half months means nothing to the company. LG does not want to keep the promises of its service representatives. As customers, do you still want to stick to buying its products? I switched. Though most of my appliances and TV are LG now, I wont buy any from LG. Very disappointed.

After a week and a half of dancing with technicians and various customer support people, we now find our LG refrigerator cannot be fixed. We purchased an LG LFC25770SG on the last day of December 2008 and took delivery in January 2009. Three years and four months later, the compressor has died. When we first discovered the problem, we were shocked the warranty was only for a year. However, some parts are covered for seven years and our compressor is one of them (partial warranty as part is covered but service is not). I could give you the blow-by-blow description of the frustrating customer support calls, three service technician visits, multiple incorrect part deliveries, and going into the Memorial Day Weekend (a traditional barbecue weekend for us) with no refrigerator, no solution to the problem and no sense of urgency by LG in correcting the situation. Our model requires a compressor that is no longer available (even though it is covered by warranty). Of course, if you go online and look for the part, you find it listed (even on LGs sites) with various prices. On many sites, it lists a replacement part for the compressor, but LG said this model requires the original compressor and that there are no substitutes. Unfortunately, they apparently have not notified the parts industry or their factory-authorized repair technicians. Even the LG technician they sent out today (We had been dealing with Sears Home Repair.) thought the replacement part was a suitable sub and was trying to figure out how to install the replacement part. Only after I insisted he interrupt his call to listen to me did he hear me say we have talked to LG twice and that they said there is no substitution for this part. Sears parts distribution has sent us the same part in an expedited shipment twice. Guess Ill tell them since LG hasnt, now we are waiting for LG management to contact us for a solution to our problem undoubtedly next week. That will make a full two weeks without our refrigerator with no concern for the food lost, inconvenience, customer dissatisfaction, repair call costs, or even product quality. I expect their solution will be unsatisfactory (a replacement unit with no warranty, a depreciated value refund, or credit toward a new model, etc). None of these will be satisfactory, as I will accept nothing less than a suitable replacement with the full warranty or refund of our purchase price. I suspect this may be the beginning of litigation. I would like to think LG would be concerned enough about their brand and their product quality that they would want to do the right thing to make us whole. However, our experience so far and the complaints Ive read here do not project a favorable outcome.

My old refrigerator went out and the LG was on sale for a good price so I bought it. Was kinda small but I needed something in a hurry and they could bring it the same day. Would freezer burn food fast and no room to make ice cubes. The shelves on the fridge couldnt hold 2 gallons of milk at 1 time. It was really just a standard refrigerator. Nothing special. Just cheap and worked as it should. Wish it had room to make ice cubes but it ran for years without any issues.

I like that its a side by side with one side entirely a freezer. I like that it has an ice maker on it. It is black and has several bins & door compartments. I wish it had been cheaper and I wish the ice maker produced more ice and didnt stop working off and on. Its hard to crouch down to the very bottom of the freezer to find things. This was chosen for the color and for the financing options on price and also on the size it would fit in the necessary space we had for it to go. I would have bought a different brand when all was said and done.

I have had only trouble since I bought it 6 years ago. I have had LG come in to fix at least 5 times (ice issue, cooling issue, light issue, etc.). Now it is the sealing issue. Doesnt freeze or stay cool anymore. I have called numerous places to fix it but they cant even fix it. No one can fix an LG product! I get it... its 6 years old but I am willing to pay for it but no one can fix it. I called LG so I can get some assistance but the operators doesnt speak English! I purchased this fridge 2 years ago; it had good reviews and I was assured by the 10 yr compressor warranty. Turns out that you are just buying an ongoing problem! How can LG sell a known defective product? The refrigerator we replaced worked well for 27 years. Our warranty was voided because we tried to have it fixed first by a non-accredited LG tech, but it is the compressor that went out and LG has abandoned us in a technicality. And if we had it repaired, in all likelihood it would go out again in 2 years. I love the design and look, but not worth the $3k problem. After reading multiple reviews, seems that LG knowingly continues to put out a defective product. Shame on you LG!

The LG refrigerator was energy efficient, stainless steel with side by side doors. I liked the refrigerator size. The ice maker features were nice. But the pullout freezer would get full fast. The filter needed to be changed too often. I wish the freezer was bigger. I had to buy another freezer because the freezer was so small. Not enough space. Sometimes the food in the freezer would defrost. And the freezer on the bottom wasnt very big and would filled too full. But I really just liked the way the refrigerator looks. It is a sleek looking piece of equipment. I did wish it had a few more luxury features. But, overall, it was the best bang for the buck. It had good reviews, had a good price and it was attractive. LG Washer WT5001C - This washer was recommended by Home Depot. I had no idea it was a Korean made machine. I was told it was a GE brand that had great reviews. Shame on me for not checking. Luckily I purchased the 4 year extended warranty. It is by far the WORST machine I have ever had. I have had repeated service because it is never in balance and ALWAYS take over 90 minutes to do a simple load. I have been told, I put too few items in the machine. Next service call told I put too many clothes in the machine, next service call I was told I didnt know how to load a machine. Seriously I have been washing clothes for over 35 years! Finally a good local service company was assigned to come out and they replaced the Core control board and the Display board. NO CHANGE. Finally called again for warranty service only to find out there is a major part recall on many of the models so if you havent checked you might want to. Of course finding someone authorized by LG to come out is the next joke. Their service departments are as bad as their washers. This is simply a poorly built product that should be totally recalled and no longer sold. Major retailers should be ashamed selling this to consumers. There is no doubt I will be donating this machine as soon as I get close to the expiration of the extended warranty. I would gladly participate in a class action against this company.

We bought an LG oven (model LRG4115) this summer (2018) and we can’t believe this oven is still on the market. It is so dangerous. We have brushed up numerous times against the knobs and the gas comes on automatically without us even knowing it. Luckily we have remained in the house afterward and smelled the gas so we were able to shut it off before something major happened. The knobs turn so easily and the gas comes on so quickly, unlike most other gas ranges that take several seconds before the fire lights up. We haven’t contacted LG yet but that is our next step. I want this oven out of my house before something horrible happens!

Bought LG (TrueBalance) machine 2 yrs. ago. It will NEVER stay balanced. I have called the company and their reps are so inexperienced and unhelpful (I think they read from a script). It runs and re-runs water. I have to stay right there watching it constantly!! Does not get clothes clean at all, even though it sometimes takes over 2 hours to do 1 load. Clothes are still pretty wet even when it completes. I wasted a lot of money on this machine and now need to re-purchase one that works properly. I complained to LG customer service about overcooling issue. My tomato will turn into stone, leafy vegetables get spoiled with ice crystals forming on them. So far, I must have thrown vegetables worth $600 plus. My refrigerator was under warranty. Technician would check and confirm everything is working fine, no root cause analysis. After 2 visits, I demanded to have new technician, who said air flow tower needs replacement. After replacement, unit worked for few weeks and again same problem started happening. I called LG, again technicians visited but could not fix the problem. I am still having issues with brand new refrigerator where I cannot store vegetables. Fortunately, I have 10+ year old another refrigerator that I use for storing vegetables. Now, when I call LG, they are saying, unit is out of warranty so you need to pay. My issue was reported when it was under warranty, it was never fixed, but they will not accept. I am very frustrated. It seems it has some manufacturing defect or they do not have qualified technicians to do root cause analysis of the problem.

We purchased our LG washing machine 11/18 from Best Buy. We opted at the time to not get the extended warranty, since in our 50 yrs of marriage, this was only our 4th set... After washing clothes last weekend, I noticed that the agitator was not attached. I called my repairman, thinking that somehow the agitator had disengaged from the transmission, and it would be s simple fix. What he found was a broken transmission shaft... The broken part being the size of my little finger, completely broken in half! The cost to repair $300. We launder approx. 7 loads of clothes/ week, none of them being very large.. I purchased a condo in October 2010. The condo came with an almost new LG washer/dryer (WM2101). The washing machine has not lasted even 5 years. About a month ago, the washer shut down with an Le error. I called the LG 800 help number and was instructed on how to reset the machine. Multiple attempts at resetting did not resolve the problem. After determining an authorized LG service provider in the southern California area, I had a service representative come to assess/diagnose the error. The service provider could tell me that from the serial number of the machine, that it had been manufactured in November 2009 - less than a year before I purchased the condo. Now, it is May 2015 - not even 6 years since date of manufacture - and the machine is shot. The Le error is due to worn out bearings in the machine. During the less than 5 years that I have owned this condo (and the washer/dryer), the machine has not even been used that much. The cost of repair of the machine (by this authorized service provider) would exceed the cost of a new LG washing machine. Not only would the cost of repair of the washing machine be excessive, the LG service provider did not recommend keeping the existing LG dryer, which was stacked on top of the washer. So, I would have to pay for removal of both machines - with an additional cost of $160 to unstack the machines. As far as I am concerned, I never intend on purchasing another LG appliance. I am appalled that the US government allows companies to prey on US consumers with the current quality of workmanship of manufactured goods - especially large (and expensive) appliances. What happened to appliances that lasted 20+ years - or even 10 years? These large appliances that do not last but 5 years are ending up in our landfills - or having to be disassembled for recycling. Environmentalists and legislators - where are you?

But when I do this I now dont have dry celery I have rotten celery. These bins are just a waste of space. I wish I has never bought an LG fridge/freezer and will be telling my friends. I would NOT recommend them ever!

Initially I thought this machine (LG F4J8JH2W Washer Dryer in White) to be quite good. The dryer worked very efficiently - the clothes sometimes came out hot.4 months after I purchased it however, we notice quite a lot of smoke coming out from the drum. Luckily we were in the kitchen so switched off the power immediately before the smoke could develop further. LG response - was to send an engineer to investigate, not to get it out of the house. Not good.

I bought this LG Gas Slide In Stove Model LSG4511ST from Home Depot online on Feb 17, 2018. Within a few weeks of barely using it all five burners on the stainless steel stove top were corroding with rust. We just spent a ton of money remodeling our kitchen and were excited to get our first and new Slide in Gas Stove. Well the nightmare began. We contacted Home Depot and they referred us to LG. Home Depot wouldn’t speak to us. We paid $1300 for the stove. After many calls, chats and emails to LG customer service and their executive office they replaced the entire SS stove top and all five burners after SIX months of hell with them. They didn’t show up, excuses, no response to emails, no call backs - HORRIBLE company. Then within a short time after they replaced parts it started corroding AGAIN around ALL FIVE burners. The calls, chats, emails to LG started again and this time they don’t respond at all. I tried Home Depot also and they will not take any responsibility. Nothing! I am sitting here with a defective ugly stove in the middle of our brand new kitchen. I am now forced to sue them. I filed a complain the US Bureau of Consumer Goods a month ago, was assigned a complaint number and “investigator” name and email and they don’t respond either. I have tons of documentation of this nightmare and photos. The icing on the cake is I wrote a review for the stove on www.homedepot.com and they “rejected” it. They didn’t want the public to know the truth about a product they sell!

I WONT BUY A LG ELECTRIC RANGE AGAIN. The LG Range Oven model # LRE383ST01 we purchased in 2015 has been nothing but trouble. In the first year the burner and main board went out. Luckily we were still under the warranty so LG sent their technician to replace them. A few weeks after the warranty expired, the glass top made a pop noise and cracked like a spider web on the lower right burner and spread. We called LG, explained the situation and told them this seems a factory part defect. They politely blamed us of dropping something on the glass which was 100% false and they used we are sorry to gently fade their fault with this. We let it go - not to waste our time. Price of a new glass top is near $400. Couple month after the new range top was installed the new glass top cracked again. It couldnt happen at a better time but Christmas Eve 2016, with having family over, around 4 pm while food cooking, the glass top made a loud pop noise and broke again on the lower right burner. Here was my experience with LG Range and dealing with the company who took the easy road to blame the customer for their defective part. Now I have an expensive LG range-oven with another broken glass top. My recommendation: Stay away from LG Range with glass top.

Got set as gift from brother-in-law after wife helping during death of his wife. The washer has worked fine since 2008. The dryer we have had checked several times, always says vents needed cleaning. Now that I have read reviews of how having to do exactly what we have to do is dry 4-5 times, I am convinced no need to spend any money on this high dollar product. Will purchase a decent dryer... Used to be a washer dryer lasted 20-25 years. What a shame on LG! Never again.

LGLRFC21760ST - Numerous calls to retailer and independent repairmen re: water spilling out from freezer and unto floor (It has ruined the hardwood floor in kitchen area) since purchase in 2005. Have paid lots in labor and parts over the years, they all do something different than the last guy..... and it keeps leaking. Called again and repairman said, You should have called us earlier. Really???? How many times do I have to call - and pay - to get it fixed? Now read that many others have experienced the same problem, but I have never been advised that it was a common issue with this fridge. Guy today said he would check to see if there were any bulletins issued on this matter for LG. Are those bulletins available to the public? Really, really frustrated after seven years with this problem. And now likely a very expensive bill. Plastic bins have also broken and will be replaced - poor design said the repairman - but that is the least of my problems.

After owning and enjoying LG washers and dryers in the past of course when building my dream home in Ocala I requested this brand which was a big mistake. The literature advertises the dryer will dry a king comforter. Noting could be further from the truth. My first experience with model 4370 was trying to dry a queen comforter which it burned. The unit is less than two months of use and it does not dry completely the smallest of loads. The companion washer does not clean the clothes. This is a big disappointment and no wonder the company discontinued these models but what about the consumer left holding the bag.

The customer service representative extended my warranty because of so many issues. I am very frustrated with having to constantly have the unit repaired, tossing out food and missing work. When looking for refrigerators, do not consider this brand or at the very least do not buy this model. This company should be embarrassed for selling such an inferior product.

The refrigerator stopped working. The motor ran constantly to the point the back lower panel where it is located became overheated. Lost everything there was in the refrigerator and freezer. Have gone without one for over a week. Contacted LG who said they couldnt get someone out to look at it for about 2 weeks. LG said that the limited warranty for certain parts that was for 7 years after we received the unit would not be honored since we did not have a receipt. We never received a receipt since the Home Depot gave us a store credit. We had other things updated prior to getting the credit. The Home Depot put in new Silestone countertops. It took 3 times for them to come back and put the counter on properly. Silestone felt bad for us and told us to get any of their countertops, so we picked out a different color that happened to be their most expensive. Silestone also told us we could have any edging we wanted, no matter what the cost, so we updated our edging to one of the most expensive. Silestone had no problem with any of this. Then we had Home Depot replace on of our bathroom floors. The installer put the floor in just fine, but also broke our toilet and told us sorry and left. We had to go and buy a new toilet ourselves and install it. Home Depot finally paid for the replacement and labor of the new toilet. I called Home Depots corporate office who gave us a store credit of $1500. We used that money to buy the LG French Door refrigerator. Needless to say 4 years later it broke down. I called Home Depot for them to send us a copy of the store credit that was used for the refrigerator. They were not able to find it in the system since I did not know the exact date of purchase. No receipt or paperwork were given to us. Now the contractor for LG will not honor the 7-year limited warranty and we will have to pay for parts and labor to fix the unit. Prior to getting this LG unit, we had a side-by-side GE Profile fridge. It was about 8 years old when it started to give us minor problems, but it still worked. We got the LG fridge since we had this credit and wanted a French Door Fridge without the water and ice like the GE one had. We never expected this LG unit to have such serious problems at only 4 years old. Very disappointed with this issue. If the service call costs too much, this Fridge will be going and we will go with another manufacturer. LG will never be a company we do service with again. Home Depot will also never have our business again with all the problems we have had with the major updates to our house we purchased from them.

We bought our French door refrigerator around December of 2018 when we purchased our new house. We have loved our unit until one day both of the coils for the fridge and freezer part went out. I placed a repair order in August of 2020. LG outsourced the repair work to a local repair shop which was fine. Here it is 10/25/2020 and we are still without a refrigerator. I have contacted LG and the repair company numerous times and nothing is being done about it. LG has basically washed their hands of the whole situation and put it on the backs of the repair company. I got tired of waiting for the refrigerator to be repaired because we have a large family (family of 8); I called LG back once more and requested LG to replace or refund the money from the initial purchase. Since then we are going on 2 weeks and I have still yet to hear from LG as to what the decision is on replacing it or refunding the money. We was happy with the unit while it was working but since then it has been a complete nightmare and I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LG PRODUCT AGAIN IN MY LIFE because of this incident. I hope my review helps clear the air up for anyone thinking about making a purchase of a LG product.

My 4.5 yr old side by side LG stopped cooling sometime Sunday. I had purchased an extended warranty. (Customer service is not what it used to be.) Called the warranty company and left a message Sunday night. Waited all day Monday for a call back. Can you hear the crickets. Short story, didnt get anyone on the phone till Tuesday and was told an appt. was set for Wednesday morning. But I should call the service provider to confirm. Three phone calls and an email later I get a response. Tech arrived Wednesday afternoon. Then tells me, after checking my fridge that I need a new compressor. And that the reason he was late is because he just replaced a compressor on another LG fridge. I thought he might have one in his truck, but no. I would have to be ordered and another appt. would have to be made. I have owned 2 other brands in the past and only replaced them after 15 or more years and I have never had a compressor replaced. Now that the kids are long gone and we decide to buy more expensive appliances, we find that expensive is not synonymous with reliable. BTW LG dishwasher repaired twice in 5 years.Going back to the old yet faithful brands.

Got a new microwave - and every now and then it will trip the breaker. Our old microwave NEVER tripped the breaker or had any issues with it, we only replaced it because we were remodeling our kitchen with all new appliances.

I have a 2-1/2 year old LG french door, bottom freezer refrigerator that I purchased from Sears for $3,000. While on vacation, the entire unit stopped cooling. Called Sears to service. Because it was a sealed system issue, LG covered parts but not labor. 4 visits, $480 later, and 4 WEEKS WITHOUT A WORKING REFRIGERATOR, the unit is still not working. The compressor was replaced, the evaporator was replaced, the dryer value was replaced, as well as 2 valve assemblies.I call LG and they tell me I need another repair company to look at it. I pay another $100 for them to tell me they think it needs another compressor which will cost me another $300 and there is no guarantee that will fix the problem. Unit still isnt cooling, freon is low, and you can hear the freon now gurgling loudly through the unit. I have called LG at least a dozen times. Lucky if you can get someone who speaks English that is understandable. My question to them was, will they deem it a lemon and offer me a buyout or replacement if compressor doesnt fix the problem. They cannot give me an answer. So now I paid $3,000 for this refrigerator, close to $600 already in labor charges trying to fix it and it still does not work and LG will continue to allow this nightmare to continue until God knows when. I am wheeling this piece of crap to the curb and cutting my losses which is EXACTLY what LG wants. You win LG! I will post on every social media account everywhere that I can until your company is out of business. We need a class-action lawsuit against LG as well. Any lawyer interested, please contact me. My LG washer turned itself on when I was not at home. It filled up with water and because it was not in a cycle the door wasnt locked so the pressure from the water pushed the door open and the water continued to pour out. I came home to my house being flooded, water went through my vents and into my crawlspace. When the repairman came he witnessed the washer doing it all over again! I called LG, they told me to get 2 estimates, send them pictures, fill out documents and send them my old parts and I did. I thought they were going to help. I am now going into my 6th week of them leading me on to believe they are going to help me. They keep saying they have to do testing then they said they had to send the main control panel to Korea for further testing. I have over 30,000 in damages, my daughter is allergic to mold and not one person at LG gives a hoot! I am setting my LG washer & dryer at the end of my driveway (its 3 years old) I will never ever purchase anything with those initials on it again! Their customer service is as bad as their product! Oh it also leaks water from underneath during wash cycle too. The lady asked me at one point what cycle was your washer in when it leaked. I said AGAIN my washer was not in a CYCLE and it did not LEAK. It turned itself on, filled with water and sent out about 70 gallons of water. If you want to know what cycle my washer was in.... ask the washer! I had it on OFF!

June 2011, we decided to replace our kitchen appliances. Not because our 27 year old Kitchen Aids did not work, but that they looked very outdated. After very much research, we decided on the LG 4 door LMX 28994 refrigerator with the Converta drawer, the LDF 7932 Dishwasher, and the LMS 2073 Microwave Oven. We choose to purchase a GE Monogram dual fuel range rather than an LG at that same time. Our decisions were carefully researched, and the choices made not only based on those particular appliances features, but also upon the then available reviews. 10 months later, we woke to find the food in our fridge warm and spoiled, and our dishwasher no longer working. April 2012, LG replaced our refrigerator, and when I asked if a new warranty would take effect, was advised by LG that they would only extend our existing fridge warranty by 3 months. I asked why? It was a brand new refrigerator... should it not have a one year warranty? Our dishwasher motor was replaced by LG that same month. 3 months later, our microwave started to malfunction, just after it was out of warranty. We did not purchase an extended warranty for the Microwave, but did purchase extended warranties for the refrigerator and dishwasher. Currently we once again have a refrigerator that requires servicing. Its making so much noise that it wakes us in the middle of the night, and our cheeses are going soft, and milk is warm. The service tech cant seem to decide if its the fan or the compressor. Our hope is that this issue is resolved before our extended warranty is up in June 2016, which by the way, is the only right thing we did when we chose to purchase LG appliances. We should have gone with all GE Monogram, since we have not had any trouble at all with our GE range. Our dishwasher has the worst designed racks weve ever seen, and we are now having to pre-rinse our dishes before placing them in the dishwasher. Ahhh modern technology, got to love it. I wonder if Mr. Seong-Jin Jo, President and CEO for LG Appliance Company is aware of, or even cares about the multitude of dissatisfied customers LG appliance has. They may be trying too hard with their Innovation, sending their products out in the market before they have proven their reliability. After spending almost $4,000.00 to purchase our fridge, $1,500 on our dishwasher, and almost $500.00 on our microwave, one would hope that they would last more than a year or two. Never again would we buy LG anything.

This refrigerator (French Door Model LFX21960ST) is only about 3 years old. The first year we had to call out the repairmen because, evidently, the light was not going out when the door was closed. This is difficult for me to know since I rarely spend time inside the unit with the door closed. As a result, the bulb burned, melted and fused the carriage to the top of the fridge. It was still under warranty so it was fixed, though I had to take off work to wait for service. Now the display shows ‘Error’ which means, according to the LG site, repair must be called again! I have never had a refrigerator that needed service much less one needing major work within two years.

We purchased an LG large capacity washer and dryer set 4 years ago. A few months ago, we noticed the so common thump, thump, thump. I looked inside the dryer and noticed the crack in the rear weld of the drum. I contacted LG. It took numerous calls over 3 weeks before I finally got someone who admitted that the drum had a 5 year warranty because of all the broken welds. Why wasnt this recalled? Why in the hell did it take me 3 weeks before someone owned up to this P.O.S. They put me in touch with Tanstel electronics for the repair. Tanstel tells me they will have to order the drum and will call me when it gets in. They say it should be in in about 2 weeks. 3 weeks later, I call Tanstel and am told, Yeah, the drum is sitting here, been here for a while, when do you want us to come out? Are you kidding me, why didnt they call me when it came in???? Tanstel comes out to do the repair, costs $150. The next load we put in, we notice that if the machine says it is finished in 5 minutes. It keeps on doing this. Apparently, when they replaced the drum, they damaged the sensor that tells the machine when the load is dry. Tanstel comes out again, repairs the sensor and leaves. The sensor still isnt quite right but is better than before. It is now a month later, and my drum doesnt turn anymore. I can hear the motor turning and can smell the rubber band that is supposed to turn the drum burning. I have had it!! I will never purchase another LG item again. Please learn from all the complaints on this board. LG doesnt care about customer service! LG doesnt care about repeat business!

Cooks great! Seriously DANGEROUS knobs, huge FIRE HAZARD! Purchased Nov 26, 2017 delivered December 21, 2017. No problems with the cooking features as I love this stove for that purpose. However, I did not have any issues with the knobs turning on by just a brush or bump or even just standing close & assuming static causing the problem UNTIL LG sent a new control unit which is the entire front portion of the stove above the door due to the finish falling off in big chunks just by wiping with a damp rag! I wish I had just had my new stove painted stainless at a local paint shop as I did remove the knobs when not in use for fear my house will burn down until I noticed the stems cause the burners to turn on even more than with the knobs on so now I trip the breaker to the stove and NEVER leave my house or go to sleep with that breaker not in the OFF position.I realized the burners actually heated up when I sat my cold bag with a gallon of milk I had just purchased on the stove top. Turned to go get another bag from car & came back in to a smoke filled kitchen & a melted cold bag including the entire bottom of the plastic milk carton with boiling milk all over the stove & running down the front of the door! It took approx 25 secs to grab the bag & return to the kitchen but I had sat the bag on the ultra burner unfortunately! It works very well! Now if the control panel is barely touched by a mere piece of clothing the broil turns on HI and my oven is locked yet the door is not shut so it’s not useable but it still turns on! LG will not assist you other than advising you to have a repair person come check it out & at your expense since the warranty is out. I wish I could say buy this stove you will love it but the Fire issue is the only reason I cannot. I now cut my breaker off to my stove before leaving my house or going to sleep! Also, I cannot get an answer from LG, but my lockout feature only prevents the oven from being turned on, it does not lock the stove top controls! I paid a little over $1300 for this stove. I am going to try to find a fix, either knobs that lock or a person to rewire my control panel to prevent the fire hazard! I will post a solution if I am able to find one that is inexpensive!

As others have mentioned, we initially bought the model based on the positive reviews we found online. However we too have had multiple issues with the knobs being turned on and gas being on without the burners. The knobs are very, very sensitive and a tiny bump just brushing the knobs will turn it on. Our children are teenagers, but we even looked for baby proof covers because we are so nervous around this stove. It has become a routine to check the knobs multiple times and we ourselves have found the gas on at almost every party we have had just because as others have said walking by and brushing the knob will turn the gas on. We have a party this weekend and are using packing tape to ensure that guests dont accidentally turn on the knobs when they brush against the stove. Honestly if I had another $2,000 to drop on a stove Id replace it right away. For anyone looking, stay, far far away from this stove. It is only a matter of time before someones home or self is injured by this stove. I am honestly surprised with the amount of comments that they have not yet recalled or provided a fix for this.

The representative of the insurance company told me to wait, it completely crazy and it falls. What will you do without it if I use the self cleaning. Why pay an extended warranty? LG Why not admit that the glass has a manufacturing defect to change the door of an oven that has a defect? I have this range for only 15 months, and I used the oven only 8 times.

The coating on my LG Refrigerator water dispenser started to bubble and then just fell off, looking like someone damaged it. This happened only 9 months after buying the fridge. I tried to get some explanation and help from LG but they said I damaged it and that it could be fixed only at my cost. So my advice, buy a different fridge. IT is not worth the money or your time. Purchased model #LFX25991ST January 2012. Within weeks the technician was out to fix the icemaker. He returned at least 2 times within the first year for the same problem. Within the first few months, the lettering on the face of the water dispenser had started to fade. By the end of the second year one of the plastic drawer covers had broken off (minimal use. No children in house.). Technician was back out the third year for icemaker. By February 2016 the fridge began making loud noises with on and off warm water, but was very minimum. With all the money already spent (did not purchase extended warranty as we had NEVER had problems with refrigerators in the past - other brand names), we had no energy left for this fridge. Then a couple days ago, no surprise, the entire thing quit with a loud bang. So heres the kicker. I called various service people on Monday. No one could come until Friday. Called LG and got hung up on once. Called back and after hold time, finally got to speak with someone who barely spoke English and was obviously reading from a script. He tried to troubleshoot with us over the phone then agreed that the fridge was dead. He provided 3 companies that they contract with to come out and look as the sealed system is under warranty for 7 years, some parts 10.So I proceeded to call these companies. One said he does not work on refrigerators, another said he will not touch this model number, and another kept hanging up on me. So I called another person I had initially spoken with. He still couldnt come out until Friday, but since the parts are under warranty, I would have to pay for labor which would be upwards of $400. And the best part of all is LGs policy as he explained - After the problem is diagnosed, I would have to call LG and get an authorization number, they would have to mail this to me for confirmation, then the parts would have to be ordered, then I would have to get on the schedule to have the repairs made. I am therefore without a fridge for close to a month. Debating to chuck it or go back to Whirlpool or KitchenAid. NEVER AGAIN will LG enter this house!

This is the worst washing machine I have ever owned! A normal cycle is supposed to take 57 minutes. It routinely takes all day to wash one load of laundry due to constant error codes stating the machine is unbalanced. This happens no matter how small or large the load of laundry and no matter how carefully you load the machine. It does not get clothing clean. I have to hand wash all shirts before putting them into the machine, otherwise, deodorant builds up on the fabric under the arms. And the washer smells musty no matter how regularly you clean it. I will NEVER buy a washer like this again. I purchased this one because it was highly rated by Consumer Reports, but it has been terrible from the beginning!

LG wasnt my choice and I honestly wouldnt purchase again. Even talking with the individual who did the maintenance on the appliance said that there were a number of those models that had problems. They all looked and appeared that its a nice unit and I was surprised at how quickly the compressor of the refrigerator went out. Ultimately, that was the problem. As far as other products like the LG flat screen that I purchased before, I was pretty satisfied with that. But something went wrong on the refrigerator side.

I purchased the over the range microwave from Best Buy just over a year ago. The microwave stopped working, will not power on. I verified the outlet is good by trying another appliance in it and I even replaced the fuse in the microwave, but still does not work. I called LG, but since it was out of warranty, they said there is nothing they can do and referred me to a local repair shop. The local shop said it would end up costing more than I paid to come out, diagnose, and potentially repair the system. At this point, it seems I have no options left other than buying a brand new microwave. I wasted my money on this LG microwave that barely even lasted one year. Our refrigerator died right before the warranty expired ($3000 unit!). We have been 3 weeks without a fridge, lost hundreds of dollars worth of food, and are CONSTANTLY having to call customer service to get something done. The local repair service they sent out could not fix, yet I received an email from LG stating that it was fixed, and to take a survey. We speak with someone daily, and now just want them to get this POS out of our house and refund our money. So, even though they have ALL my info from registering the product.... I had to send them receipt copies. And THEN I get a return email stating, Unfortunately, I am away from my email right now, but I will reply as quickly as I can. This was less than 5 minutes after we spoke with her. After reading reviews, I wish I never bought this fridge. It looks like we will have to contact the BBB, and perhaps a lawyer. Will also be contacting Home Depot (where we bought it). DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS! Unless you like getting the runaround.

We bought our first LG refrigerator three years ago after studying online reviews (not customer reviews, quality reviews) that convinced us LG was making the best appliances available. Those reviews were dead wrong. Our refrigerator made very loud vibrating noise immediately. We had a service person come out within the first two weeks. He ordered a replacement part and came out again several weeks later to install. That “fix” failed. It became increasingly difficult to get LG to respond to our concerns. After a year of complaining pointlessly to LG we went back to the retailer whose immediately agreed to replace the refrigerator, to our pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of accepting a new LG refrigerator on the assumption that our first LG was merely an unaccountable lemon.Wrong. The second LG has been nearly as loud as the first albeit the noise did not start immediately. The vibration built up over time and is now every bit as loud as the first. In reading the customer reviews now, it is apparent that our experience is similar to many others. Poor quality components, extremely poor service, no follow-up. I will never buy another LG appliance and will likely replace this one before we experience some of the leaking and lack of cooling that others have experience. Very disappointed.

I purchased a top of the line three thousand dollar plus refrigerator in February 2014. The refrigerator and freezer stopped cooling. All of the lights work and all of the lights, indicator lights on the door panel work as well. I was away for the day and arrived home late in the evening so I did not go into or look at the refrigerator. The following morning, I noticed water dripping from the water and ice dispenser only to realize that everything in the refrigerator and the freezer defrosted and reach temperatures causing everything to spoil. I immediately contacted LG and they ran an over the phone diagnostic only to tell me that the unit was not operating properly. I could have told them that. When I said that I live in Arizona in a rural area and need emergency assistance, they stated they could not get anyone out to be for the next 4 to 5 days. How am I supposed to live without a refrigerator? They also told me that they hold no responsibility for all of the ruined food. This unit is still under warranty but that does help my situation as their commitment to service in unacceptable. When I went to purchase this top of the line unit, I was told by some folks not to buy an LG refrigerator as two separate folks stated they own LG fridge and have had nothing but problems. When I researched the reviews on this fridge, it received high marks. Taking that into consideration and the fact that the two folks who had problems with their units had them for over two years, I figured that LG made the necessary improvements to their refrigerator so I went ahead with the purchase. In summary: I will never again buy any LG product. I will never recommend an LG product and I will inform whom ever I know to stay away from LG no matter what the reviews state as I am not confident that they are authentic.

I purchased an LG refrigerator, double oven, dishwasher, cooktop, and built-in microwave from Home Depot in September 2010 (Along with all new cabinets, total spending was $30K; LG appliance spending was $5k.) After six months, the icemaker stopped producing ice; we called LG, and they replaced the icemaker promptly and at no additional cost. Six months later, the ice cube production started to slow; another six months passed, and ice production stopped. We called LG who directed us to an authorized service provider. The service provider came to the house, checked a few items, lowered the temperature, and turned off the energy saver button. I was charged $127.00. A month later, the service provider came back because the problem wasnt resolved and installed a new icemaker and circuit board. Problem is still not resolved. I called LG to make them aware of the continued failures of the service provider, and they set up a service call for me with their guy. Turns out, he wasnt their guy, and he wanted another $60.00. The problem had not been resolved, and I refused to pay. So, I called LG again while their guy was here (5th call in 2 months). I was once again told by LG it wasnt their problem, that I needed to pay the new service provider, and if I had any continued problems, contact either service provider (neither of which seems to be able to resolve the problem) and deal with them. After the first six to ten months of use, I struggled to figure out what I was doing wrong. Very often, the clothing would actually come out smelling worse than when they went in. Lint and dirt particles were left inside the tub, on my clothing and in the laundry basket. This issue increased in degree as the months went by. The LG design places an odd drain tube and plastic filter at the front bottom which requires cleaning periodically. But actually, it is a reservoir for dirty water and also, the filter rarely had much lint or pet hair on it.I am a senior citizen and I never imagined such a design would even exist. The dirt, lint and pet hair rarely reach the filter and just build up in the washer. I have had to remove the plug, replace it with a clamp and open the drain onto the floor after every load. The instructions want you to get on the floor and find a bowl low enough for gravity to fill it, but not spill it when theres more water than will fit in a typical bowl. The washer needs special cleaning very often and the whole process is utterly ridiculous. I have spoken with customer service and my issue was moved up to the manager, but the company has shown no interest in customer satisfaction at all. Having a Kenmore front loader previous to this is like changing from the best to the worst imaginable.

I purchased a new LG TrueBalance washer. I hate it. Example: I just tried to do a short wash with two pairs of slacks, a mens shirt, and a tee-top. After 1 hour of having the washer stop due to off balance signal 5 times, repositioning contents each time, and restarting cycle and still not getting any further along -- I pulled the clothes out and am now trying to get the washer to finish cycle empty. This was not a unique experience. Unless I jam the washer full so that nothing can virtually move -- it takes me an entire day (at minimum 12 hours) to do 6 loads of clothes. I would never ever again purchase a washer without a center agitator, the ability to fill washer and leave for overnight soaking (which I cant now), and get rid of all of this computer bologna! UPDATE: The off balance signal just went off again with the washer empty! If you are shopping for a washer -- do not get blinded by all the new/many bells and whistles.

I must agree with the reviews Ive read on this site. I purchased my LG washer and dryer in June of 2016. If the fact that it takes forever to clean my laundry which doesnt come out clean, it produces a terrible smell! At the floor level there is a drain and filter which instructions advise to clean monthly. Highly reliable products. I like the ice maker and filtered water system. Also like that I can move the shelves around to maximize and customize the space in the refrigerator. I also like the meat drawer and produce drawers. They are spacious enough to hold adequate products. But the freezer is too small, would like less shelving etc to give more space; maybe move the freezer to the bottom instead of side by side if it could be configured correctly and I could see and retrieve product easily.
