I love my new washing machine. I havent had it long. It is a super large capacity. Only problem I have, I am on the shorter side, so I have to stand on tip toe to get everything out of the bottom of the machine. It will hold 2 loads of clothes, easily. And, a large comforter.
I purchased a £1000.00 fridge freezer and have it warranted for 5 years, 2 with LG and 3 years with Curry’s. Fridge and freezer not working after 1 year 9 month. Took 8 days to come out and told me compressor was broke, so new one would take 8 day. After having to take a second day off work nobody turned up or called up to fit the new compressor. Phoned engineer who said I should have been called as compressor was broke so would need to order another. Gave me appointment for further 6 days to wait and I couldn’t get shift off so changed it to the Fri instead of the Wed. Appointment booked in.Few days after engineer should have visited a unnecessary part arrived at our home which would not fix freezer as engineer stated it was a compressor needed. Phone company LG use to fix freezer to find out why this part had arrived. Mentioned my appointment on the fri due and was told there was no such appointment. Even if they come out on fri I have had no fridge or freezer for exactly a month. Terrible customer service and will never buy another LG product ever again.
In March 2009 I purchased an LG TROMM washer model WM2487HWM. I loved the washer and dryer. Until October 2012, the washer suddenly without any prior dripping warnings, developed a gushing leak when filling. I had a waterfall in my finished basement, the ceiling destroyed and furnishings soaked. The first floor where the washer was the hardwood flooring buckled a couple days later. I took it with a grain of salt, just clean it up and fix it. The part cost less than $10.00. There are YouTube videos to show you how to replace it. The hardest part of changing it was getting the heavy washer moved out to access the back to remove the cover. Part replaced, washer working fine, I am happy. Now just clean up the damage it caused. December 13, 2015, the same thing happened again. I am not taking this mess very well a second time. I should have realized by all the videos this was not just a fluke, but a reoccurring problem. I would not recommend a LG washer to anyone unless you have a damage proof place to put it.
5 years ago we bought 6 brand new LG appliances and since then we have had to replace 3 of them. Stove, Refrigerator and Microwave. Two others ones have been repaired twice each. The microwave control panel has had to be replace 3 times in which LG covered the part but we had to pay labour. The first time that was almost 200 dollars and the second time it was 150. The last time it broke we said screw it and took it to the country and used it as target practice. We did phone LG and said pay for the part and labour and they said NO as it was out of warranty. I said this is the 3rd time the same part has stopped working and was told too bad so sad. Dont buy LG appliances. Even if they came into my house and said here is brand new appliances and a million dollars I would tell them to get the F out of my house. Not worth the trouble.
I bought Brand New LG Refrigerator last year MAY 2018, and now its compressor goes bad on May 26th, 2019 - In one year. I have called LG numerous time. Their Tech show up with new Compressor. Goes bad again after 3 days. Tech came back again, replace compressor after a week but not cooling. Now the Tech visit 5th time as of today 07/08/2019 - NOT ABLE TO FIX THE ISSUES, 41 days pass by...So, here are my comments: Buy LG, if you dont want to be with your wife. Buy LG, if you dont want to feed your kids healthy food - almost a month I am feeding them Junk. Buy LG, If you want to listen their customer service BS and oh sorry sorry again and again. Buy LG, if you need to take off from your work just to stay with LG tech. Buy LG, if you want your whole house smell like Freon GAS while tech is on working. Buy LG, if you want to see black sticky stuff all around your house due to Tech soldering the new compressors and freezer lines. Buy LG, if you like to listen LG customer support every time saying, Sir this is our last time to trying to Fix and then will replace your unit with New one. BS Please Please. LG is a pain and worst company for home appliances. Life Sucksss.. :( They should NOT allowed to sell their products in U.S. consumers.
I bought the LG wp2060R which is suppose to be a 17 kg washload machine... as the largest LG I have bought, I thought it better for a larger wash load... but the spin dry section is where the problem is... you need to spend too much time balancing the clothes to get the spin dryer to operate properly. Its frustrating it happens with all those highspeed spin driers but the larger capacity machines are the worst. LG as a leading brand need to rectify this problem quickly to take some of the extended stress out of laundering. Its very frustrating. I have neighbours who bought the same model and are frustrated with the same problem. (Trying to be diplomatic even though I desire to use some adjectives to express my frustration with this problem.) We would like to just transfer the wash to the spin and just start without any time consuming adjustments. Thank you.
When I decided to purchase this washer, I chose LG expecting to be dealing with one of the top corporations in electronics. What a disappointment! On trying to have it repaired - error message indicating the machine is not draining - I contacted you asking for a local authorized dealer. I was given the name of RISING SERVING SOLUTIONS whom I contacted and got an appointment for a WEEK LATER. So far, after 3 visits of their technician who changed the drain motor twice, the brain of the machine and having paid $390 for the repair, I continue to have the same exact problem. On my last conversation with the technician he alleged that the problem is with the drain hose/pipe.Although Im not knowledgeable on the subject this explanation makes no sense, since the machine drains water properly on the wash and rinse cycles, presenting the problem only on the spin going on to dry cycle. Calling twice and speaking to your supervisors at customer service led nowhere. What to do next?
The fan in this refrigerator is very noisy when operating. LG would not replace the refrigerator but did replace the fan two times... The fan is still noisy. Other than a noisy fan, the refrigerator operates excellently.
On December 8, 2011, I purchased an LG refrigerator (GRB652YLS). At the level of the refrigerator exposed showroom appears straight, very stable, no problems. When I received my home in Debal, on the floor it was my surprise: the refrigerator is very tilted back. It is not perpendicular to the ground. I have a very flat ground. At the store I bought and even at the direction of Algiers, I was told that their refrigerators are celquand; as you open the door it should be maintained with a chair to get out food or the reverse. It is equipped with front feet but no use. LG should withdraw these feet to save on the cost price of the product. I am not satisfied.
Well, we are now scheduled for the 13th time for a certified LG tech to come look at my washer that doesnt work. This is the replacement machine for the first one that didnt work. After several calls to LGs 800 #, I was transferred to Robert in the executive call center (ha ha). At least he spoke English. He acted like he was concerned about the problem I was having and was going to help get it resolved. He talked to their techs, called the local service company, claimed to have had parts sent out and a service appointment scheduled. I was to receive a call when the parts arrived (2-3 days) to schedule a time that would be convenient for me (ha ha). Well, its been 4 days and no call, so I called the local service company and they had received nothing from LG. They had a call but nothing had been scheduled, no parts sent, and no authorization for service. Surprise, surprise, surprise!I called LG again, asked for Robert, and instead I got some silly girl that did not have a clue. I insisted that I wanted to speak to Robert and was finally transferred to him. I am not sure if it was the person I spoke with before but this time it was a new story. No parts were being ordered. They would have the tech come look at the machine and go from there. So it will be another week with a broken washing machine. It took 6 hours to do 2 loads of laundry. The machine continues to think it had an unbalanced load and fill to the top with water. Never really washes clothes, just fills, jiggles and few minutes, drains and starts over. Definitely energy efficient!
I have to say that my LG model LFX25991ST top of the line French door refrigerator looks great. Unfortunately, it doesnt keep food cold. After just over two years, the compressor failed, the replacement of the compressor failed, and Im just hoping that I got a lemon and that Sears will replace it with a new non-lemon after Ive had my fourth repair call. Going without a fridge for 4 weeks now, and having food spoiled twice when it failed is not fun. I would think long and hard before buying another LG product.
I am on my second LG 30.5 Cu Ft Door in Door French Door Refrigerator with Ice and water dispenser LFX31945ST. Price over 2.5k. Thank god for Best buy return and exchange policy or I would be screwed. After reviewing websites recommendation claiming this LG was the #1 rated product, I soon came to realize those rating are mostly on features and design. The reviewers do not actually keep that refrigerator in house and truly test the quality and durability of the product. So I purchased my brand new fridge - super excited. As a family of 5, I need something big and nice. During the next two week my wife kept noticing the freezer was not maintain the temperature. Give you an example: anytime you take out, ice cream, I normally had to let it sit on the counter for a minute before I was able to scope it out. With my top of the line LG Fridge I can take the container and squeeze with my bare hands. Call the LG tech, replace the motherboard. 24 hours later the whole fridge failed, all food lost. Call Best buy, I believed in the product and the review. This must of been a unique experience. Today is day 14 and the freezer still does not freeze properly, sending it back. Never ever will look at LG for anything again.
My refrigerator is only 7 years old and needs repair, after spending $600, still not working. Never had a refrigerator that new go bad with a compressor or anything. I feel that the product is inferior and people should not purchase LG appliances if they are prematurely going bad on major components. The repair did not work, Lost tons of food, costing a fortune to repair. Bad product, recommend people not purchase this brand. Now I am at a loss and have no refrigerator.
LG top load washer WT1201C - This clothing washer has one major flaw. If working properly it automatically balances the load. If it detects that the load is not balanced it will automatically rebalance it before completing the cycle. However, it frequently is unable to do this, requiring the operator to remove all the items and replace them in the washer. This often happens more than once during the cycle. If you are not constantly monitoring its operation you may check after the amount of time for the load has elapsed to find that it never completed its cycle. I would not recommend this product for this reason. I would never buy this again.
You HAVE to clean the dishes before running the dishwasher or they will not get clean. We bought repair or replace insurance: all that is good for is having parts replaced because they will not replace your entire unit... They spent one yr. putting new parts in this new dishwasher. The man sent makes me wonder if LG even knew this was going on! They were not much help.
I have had this LG FRENCH DOOR LFX31945ST refrigerator less than a year. It has been noisy since they delivered it but when I brought it up to the tech that had come back to replace the freezer door b/c of discoloration....he made it sound as though the compressors just make more noise in the new ones. So I thought, ok... I will give it some time... Well, as time went on, the noise got louder and louder. I can actually hear it buzzing and whining over my television in the Living Room (so many random noises off and on thru day, I couldnt possibly describe them all). So I call servicing dealer back and tell them still loud and seems to be constantly running. I also discovered while I was researching others complaints that there has been a problem with back wall icing up, so I looked and yes back wall completely iced over.Tech said he hadnt heard of any of these being problems, but Then he heard noise and saw ice. So he ordered new back panel, defrost control and module. When parts came in, he replaced everything. Less than 8 days later, still whining and other noises and now developed a bad smell/very bad smell that when fridge was opened would take over entire kitchen and living room area. By the time tech comes, the smell is not detectable b/c it dissipates over time, only to come back randomly. He denotes no problem found b/c noises werent as loud as they can be when he is here, even though I still think its louder than it s/b. At this point we are very frustrated to spend this kind of money and have so many problems is sickening. Problems continue and I call again, service comes out and back wall icing over again. Tech hears the loud noises (high pitch whine has become a constant, loud sounding fans and an occasional clunky sound) and the SMELL is back. Tech now has witnessed everything. He gets on phone w/ LG and he is told we must have introduced the smell. REALLY! I know we have not but we are advised to try charcoal like for a fish tank filter. I tell the tech that Im concerned b/c warranty is up in June and how do I know if he reorders everything hes replaced once that it wont continue to be a problem later. It had to be an inherent problem and what is LG gonna do about it. I feel they should extend warranty or give me replacement fridge. He did his best to tell LG that they need to do something more... Their solution is its fixable so they reorder everything again (back panel, defrost control and module main). I call customer service to voice my concerns and ask about extending warranty, to ensure this problem actually gets fixed. I am read some script that is obviously told to every customer and the Supervisor I spoke with was not nice. He had a nasty disposition and offered me no resolutions. He just made me angrier. So parts arrived and another tech comes to install the parts. It has been around 9 days and guess what? SMELL is back, noises are worse than they were before this last service call and ice is beginning to build up on the back wall again. So here we go again. I am going to call again, wait again to be notified morning of service call and given a 2-hr window of when they will be here (so I cant plan anything for that day b/c no specific time for service call). Another day wasted, more aggravation and I am fairly confident the problem wont be resolved. Instead I will be advised to purchase an additional warranty coverage since mine expires in June. I am not looking forward to complaining to customer service again b/c, well Ive seen how they treat customers and their philosophy is the customer is always a nuisance and they wont help me at all. So here we go, I will place call and waste another day. Do yourself a favor and dont buy this product, no matter how much you love the lighting, the door in door feature and the versatility of the shelves inside... Trust me - not worth the headache. Oh and not real stainless steel.
Ive had issues with the front loader getting off balanced and causing error messages. The website states to unplug and washer will reset, which seems to work. Now it seems to off balance with every load and I find Im resetting a few times each wash. Not only that, but now my clothes are getting a moldy smell and I am rewashing to get the odor out. Very disappointed in this expensive product. I was thinking of purchasing a refridge from this company, but will look at other brands instead.
Like others have mentioned, the lint filter on the dryer lifts up on the corner where the clothes land as they tumble. This causes clothes to catch on the corner of the filter and get destroyed. This also allows more lint to get through past the filter, causing lint to buildup inside the dryer and in the ducts leading outside your home. Weve lost countless articles of clothing. We have replaced the lint filter, but it still sticks out and catches clothes.
Control knobs will turn on with a slight bump. Has burned items on my stove because was caught by someone in my household. Smoke alarms going off and rooms filled with smoke. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE!!! LG refuses to acknowledge or correct the problem, despite numerous consumers having the same exact complaint. They have denied my request for a fix. I check recalls every week just expecting to find this range on the list, but not yet. I hope it doesn’t take a serious incident for this to be addressed. Im hoping a lawyer will file a class action suit against LG. Costco says they must go thru the manufacture for this problem. Who will pay for my house if it burns down because of this stove?
I spent $2000 on this front loading brand new LG wash machine. I bought this machine in July 2016 - delivered in September 2016 - power stopped in February. LG sent Precision Television (took a month) with a new brain. They put the new brain in - guess what - worked for about a week. No power again. I had electrician come out - nothing wrong with my power. Called LG again - sent me to Appliance Doctor. They do not call back. Had to write to LG again and complain. I wish for a Samsung like I had before. These people need to give me my money back.
Its always a name that is mentioned while searching for equipment. The look and the space it left us once installation. We love our new LG refrigerator! Weve had it for a couple of weeks and are beyond pleased. We love the all of the space and especially having two ice makers. But LG is the currently the poorest product on the market. Stay away! I bought my LG just 2 yrs old, gone thru 3 compressor failures, 4 loads of groceries tossed out and zero care from outsourced customer service team.
After 15 years of waiting and saving our money, we finally decided to buy a large size LG refrigerator. We bought one LG large size fridge (Model No - GL-378PLQ4) with 2 extended warranty from Croma store on 30th April 2014. But from day one, only we started facing having cooling problem with fridge. We lodge 2 complaints within 2 weeks and every time they concluded that the Fridge is OK at their side. But when we lodged complaint 3rd time on 17th May 2014, the LG engineer found that yes, there is some issues with compressor and need to get it repair.Since its newly purchased fridge not even one month old, we requested them to replace it. Yes, the product has 3 years warranty. Then they finally started their game. Mr. Sandeep **, senior associate in LG office in Vaishali, promised us to get fridge replace within 2 weeks. But whenever I called them, either they are processing my request or in process state. Later on Mr. Sandeep ** informed me that the company has stopped production of this model and they dont have similar piece now. He assured me to return my money and got ready to initiate the process to refund our money.Again after having so many calls, Mr. **, Senior customer executives collected one cancelled check and they took signed on their document as part of their money refund process. May month was already gone and it was mid of June. Every time I called to LG customer executive person to request them if they can get the status of my request from Local LG executives. Later on, ** associate that handles replacement request called me up and said they cant refund my money, and will provide me another alternate model. Though I was not ready to accept after having such bad experience with them, still I got convinced and asked them to provide me a model at least with same configuration. Since we have already paid for that.I also talked to Mr. **, head of LG department. He convinced me that they will provide me a better model with better configuration than the one I purchased. They offered me LG Model GL- D372RLJM. Since we have been already frustrated from last 2 months with having *N* of calls to all senior/junior executives, I didnt had power to check on LG showroom now. Since they all were saying its latest model than your last model and its much costly than your one. I trusted them and asked them to deliver it. Finally on 3rd July, 2014 they delivered alternative LG model which was of medium size. Its one row less than our one. I called Ms. ** and asked her to take it back and said its not on agreement on what we convinced. She said they will look into the matter and will try to resolve it asap.I called many a time to LG customer executives, Ms. **, Mr. **. But I didnt receive any response. Then after one week, Mr. Sandeep called me stated that they cant do anything now because we accepted their replacement fridge and signed on their documents. And secondly, its being one week now and its too late to raise your voice on this. I tried to convey my message to them and said, Sir, Ive been calling to all of your executives since first day only when you kept your replaced fridge and ** knows all of this incidence. But he didnt agree and said they cant do anything now. Its not cheating and what we call it now. Company has stopped making more model of what we purchased. Thats not customer fault and why customer has to compromise with medium model in that case. I request to this forum if someone can listen my voice and do some justice to us.
I remodeled my kitchen in 2011 and installed a LG gas range (model LRG3093ST). My range is right at 2 years old. For the last 6 months, the knobs have been splitting and spinning on the posts so that they do not turn the gas totally off. At first I smelled gas and could not figure out what was wrong until one split and lost a chunk of plastic to the point that turning it did not turn the flame off at all. I wrapped wire tightly around the posts to limp along, but now all are broken to the point none will turn on or off the gas. When I contacted LG, I was told they were out of warranty and I would be responsible for the purchase of the knobs. I told MCM Electronics, which they referred me to, that I would buy more knobs if they are better quality - not plastic. However, they are only authorized to sell original (defective) parts and they referred me to contact LG directly. After reading these reviews, how does LG get away with continuing to provide defective parts of any kind that are dangerous? If this were a car, the units would be recalled or new replacement parts would have to be upgraded. Leaking gas and fires can kill as well as car accidents. I will certainly do better research before purchasing any appliance again in the future - I am sure it will not be LG.
I am the same person who reported a problem with a Magic Chef under-the-counter microwave that gave up the ghost after 3 years. I had purchased the Magic Chef microwave oven and an LG Electric Range (LSB5682SW/SB/S) at the same time from Home Depot. Now, the LG Electric Range has a malfunction with an oven sensor. I went to an appliance parts department for a replacement, only to be told they couldnt sell me one because LG will not allow anyone other than their service people to install it. I checked online and the price is $19.35. After I removed the rear cover plate, the sensor, held on with two screws, took me a couple of minutes to remove. My complaint is twofold. First, what right does LG have telling the home handyman he cant fix his own property after a warranty runs out? Second, why do these more expensive items fall apart shortly after the warranty expires? Mostly, why arent these companies held responsible until someone with some authority gets involved? After posting this rant, there is a box to tick asking if I want an attorney to contact me about my complaint. I thank Consumer Affairs for offering me that option, but it would be cheaper to buy a new appliance and thats the problem. LG, Magic Chef, and other appliance companies know this and are counting on it. New technology? Another money-maker for the greedy companies. The one thing I am glad I didnt do was to purchase the two-year extended warranty. Both appliances failed a few days after the warranty expired. Consumer, beware.
I love the way the oven cooks. It is my first experience using the glass cooktop. Still learning. Would have liked for the air fryer basket/tray to be included rather than having to special order it.
Had this stove for less than a year. So far the lower control board failed, the broiler has failed and the cook top has now failed, the wiring harness BEHIND the stove has melted and needed to be replaced. The easy clean function is worthless, the cook top gets very hot when using the stove as described in the video. The buttons on the control panel are not satisfying to press and very mushy with no positive feedback. Do not get this stove, go with another brand/model. I have been without a functioning stove for four weeks now and LG/BestBuy has been at my house over 5 times to make numerous repairs and it still does not work properly. Stay Away.
Our Model LFD25860TT has a manufacturing flaw where original foil bonded to insulating foam, between coil and freezer-area, flakes off and clogs evaporator drain. It then builds-up overflow water/ice in base and leaking onto floor. (Check online issues.) Had repairman out once, but finally mitigated myself by cleaning-out the flakes and substituting heavy Reynolds foil facing.
I love my 2 oven gas stove all for except the knobs on the front of the stove turn on if bumped and lets gas into your home. My husband can’t smell so it is very dangerous. They need to figure something out with these knobs!
We purchased the LG Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Model #LFX25960ST in May of 2007. 1st issue was the Product Consumer Energy Rating. The Energy Rating LG gave was less than the average energy the fridge used. I receive a check from LG (I think) every quarter to make up the difference in energy used (around $4.00). Next came the ice maker. The ice maker would freeze up and overflow with water or just stopped working all together. The ice dispenser in the door has never crushed Ice the way it should. We had 3 service calls on ice maker issues, 2 of which the ice maker had to be replaced. Still does not crust ice the way it should. I just gave up trying to get it fixed. Then I noticed that the hard wood floors in front of the fridge were starting to warp. Ceiling tiles in basement showed where water had leaked from kitchen above. We pulled down the tiles but were unable to find a leak. We pulled out the fridge and saw where water had wet the sheetrock and floor behind the fridge. Thinking there was a leak in the plumbing behind the fridge we ripped out the sheetrock, finding nothing. We then decided to leave the fridge pulled out to try and determine where the water was coming from. About 30 minutes later, I returned to the kitchen and noticed that water was spewed to the right side of the fridge and all across the dining area, approx. 15. We turned off the water going to the fridge and contacted LG. 2 days later a repairman came in an immediately noticed the warped flooring. He the checked the ice maker and the fridge and found nothing. He turned the water back on and asked me to dispense water from the water/ice dispenser. When I pushed the water dispenser, water, again, shot out all across the kitchen and dining room. The repairman was then able to show us where the line coming from the valve on the fridge to the filter had split. He stated the line was faulty and would have to be replaced. 2 weeks later the repairman returned and replaced the faulty line. LG did pay for fridge repairs and repairs to my floor but nothing for the downtime or aggravation we endured. Then we had issues with the interior light in the fridge. It would stay on even when the fridge was closed. Again we contacted LG for repair. Now after having this fridge for only 7 years, the entire cooling system, fridge and freezer, has gone out, resulting in ruined and sour food. We contacted LG again. My husband spoke with the lady from LG. At one point in the conversation, he told the lady, Im sorry, I know this isnt your fault, but Im very aggravated right now dealing again with this Lemon of a refrigerator. The LG Supervisor then told him I understand your aggravation, but you are just going to get even more aggravated when you hear what I have to say. I cannot help you because the refrigerator is out of warranty. WHAT??? Who says that??? Where is the customer service??? So now Im stuck paying an $85.00 service call plus replacement parts and labor to fix ANOTHER issue with this LG Refrigerator. I am so done with anything LG.
We bought an LG washer and dryer in March of 2014 from Lowes. Fortunate for us, we bought the extended warranty. In that time until now both machines have been serviced by at least 5 different visits. The washer is the main culprit. It will not complete an entire wash cycle without errors or not washing them at all. The technicians who come and repair them stated these machines are the worst to repair. They really could not find a certain problem but continue to throw parts at them. The dryer would not heat or dry clothes but seems to be doing better for now. The washer decided to give us a new code last night when it it began to quit yet again, OE. Reading online this is an error with pump malfunction, kinked drain tube or filter. Now after checking tube and drain, neither is clogged, but now the washer will not drain and has foul smelling water in it. At this point we are done with these machines. We are going to look for a new washer today, preferably with manual controls. We will keep the dryer until it breaks again, which is likely. These machines being a little over two years old should not be breaking down so often. I will not buy another, ever again, and warning others to do the same. The warranty is almost up and rather having to sit around all day on the appointment day waiting for a technician arrive, we will just take the loss and get another washer. Serial numbers 312PNYU60066 washer, 307KWFN7A275 dryer.
Paid almost $3000 for a refrigerator only to have it fail in less than 2 years. Save yourself time, money and frustration. Just because it is expensive does not make it a product that is well built. You would be better off buying a $700 fridge. At least if it breaks, your ROI is better. Tried going through customer service, and I am still waiting for a callback.
The amount of storage space I had to store all of the food I would buy from grocery shopping. Built in ice machine. I was able to keep everything neat and clean and also had the option for filtered water and ice from the fridge. Just better quality of a fridge than what I had when I used other fridges. I just learned to love it better.
I thought I made a good deal on my washer top loader but it was just awful. Ive been with a washer that Sears has replaced practically every part on washer. The brand is a horrible gone wrong. Sears should of replaced on the 3rd time washer broke down and I should of given a new washer with a better brand for washer? Defect with time? Im a customer over 45 years and I shouldnt have been taken care of.
I have gotten very little usage from this LG dishwasher since I purchased it a few years ago. It has been one problem after another. I had not used it for approximately 8 months. When I DID try to use it, it gave me the oe code (Again). When the repairman came out, it was clogged up, he really DID not believe that I had not been using the dishwasher. Also, now the rubber and the sides that should be welded down is now coming loose. It cannot be repaired!!!!
I came home and smelled smoke, after a search finally found out why. Opened refrigerator to find the interior lights had not gone off when doors closed and melted the cover which was laying on food. Above the lights it is charred which was causing smoke. I am a state certified Fire Safety Inspector. How can this not be a fire hazard? All the reports I have read LG gives a generic explanation. Which is, our products are all tested and passed UL testing. Ive been a firefighter for over 30 years. If its smoking 100% chance its burning soon unless suppressed. LG model # LFX25960ST
I am completely shocked at the lack of accountability LG is demonstrating in our failed refrigerator compressor. We bought this refrigerator from Home Depot three years ago and the compressor failed in June of this year. When I called LG (who documents that they warranty their compressors for 10 years!), they directed me to their rip-off extended warranty department who charged me $450.00 for an extended warranty. After the service person came out and let them know it was the compressor, they said the parts are unavailable and they canceled my warranty without my permission, refunding my credit card MINUS $100.00 for the service person who diagnosed the problem! The contract of the warranty states they cannot cancel my warranty unless they give me 30 days notice in writing. After all of this happened I did some research online and it appears that our refrigerator is a lemon and LG is taking no responsibility for selling thousands of crappy appliances. We have spent hours on hold and hours talking to customer service people at LG who have no authority to do anything to help us. I am so disillusioned with this company and will stick to GE for any future appliance purchases. Hopefully this review will save someone else the frustration of dealing with LG.
We had problems with our first LG, and finally got our money back. We went to Tate Appliance Center in Tampa, FL where we explained what happened and told it was probably a bad unit. Liking the range, we repurchased another and again bought the $2,500 5-year insurance. Were informed that Tate would replace anything that was wrong, including total replacement. Within the first year, the range top glass started to crack. We called LG that the front burner would turn off automatically, beep or stay on. The technician said LG would not replace it unless it was from the electrical units. Then it cracked across the whole top, which the technician said it needed to be replaced. Lo and behold, LG recalled 161,000 units, but ours was corrected. Now we have cracking from the back control panel. Tate said we had to call their insurance company, but we first offered to have them refund our money and we would buy a 4-piece stainless steel GE package, but they refused. The insurance company said the cracking is not covered since it is cosmetic! We fear what will happen next, but we will never buy LG nor from Tate Appliance Center ever again. Consumers BEWARE!
I paid approximately $400 in flat fees for LG to fix my broken dishwasher (2 visits by their representatives STEIN Appliances starting November 2014). Neither of their solutions worked, the dishwasher will still not operate properly and they have yet to refund my money. Instead, they provided me with a credit towards a new one of approx. $450. This in effect will cost me, when you account for the new machine, delivery, installation, taxes approx $1135. I advised them I would accept their offer IF they returned the approx. $400 I paid for repairs the failed to make. In spite of 2 emails, I have not received a response (approx. 20 businessdays).
We purchased an LG refrigerator (model: Lfx28968ST) about a year ago so it is a new appliance. It stopped cooling so we called LG customer service to have a technician come out with no resolution. This problem has persisted since April 9, and we have had 3 technicians come to try to fix the problem...all have failed. To make matters worst, the first technician scratched our wood floors pulling the refrigerator out so now there is damage to our floors. LG promised us that after the third attempt, they would replace the entire refrigerator unit for us. However, I spoke to them again today and they are trying to send out another technician... this will be the fourth attempt to fix it! The most recent technician that came out even called LG himself and recommended a brand new appliance as he felt this one could not be fixed! I spoke to a manager today who was very rude and basically informed me that I needed to provide more receipts and information and that this would be a long drawn out process because we are now claiming damages for our floors. She did not even apologize for the fact that we have been without a working refrigerator since the beginning of April (today is May 15, 2014) and had a rude attitude!! Not to mention all of our food spoiled, and we have not been able to buy groceries during this time coupled with the fact that our hardwood floors are now substantially scratched/damaged, and LG has broken their promise of replacing the refrigerator as they are insisting to send out more technicians and order more parts...and to top if off rude, and unhelpful customer service/management. I am not one to complain and have been very understanding up to this point. I will never ever buy another LG product EVER AGAIN! I cant believe a company like this is still in business!
Purchased LG LDC22720ST/03 refrigerator in October 2010. The icemaker in the freezer has been replaced three times. The product is designed poorly and does not last for 1 year. The appliance repair company says that LG has not made a new icemaker to replace this defective design. The new icemakers are costly and the company needs to correct this defective product. Very unhappy with icemaker!
Bought our LG Front Loader Steam Washer (WM2501H*A) 9 years ago. 4 years after purchase we had to have the drum replaced due to the bearings going bad. Luckily it was covered under warranty so it was free. However, its only been 4 years since the replacement and again the drum bearings are going bad and need to be replaced. I was told that with the direct drive system the bearings had a longer life than previous models. If this is true then the previous models must have only lasted 2 years! We are going to run this one into the ground, spent all that money on it and feel like I might as well get my $$s worth (and it isnt worth fixing at this time.) I will NEVER buy another LG washer (and possibly product) in the future. I feel like the product they produce is low quality at a high quality price. I will be going back to top loader when this one completely fails.
I purchased my LG Washing Machine about 2 years ago. The UE light comes on during the rinsing cycle. It was repaired with a new part which lasted about a month and the light is back. It does not spin the water completely from the clothes. I am very frustrated each time I have to do laundry. Shame on LG for making such a poor product.
We purchased an LG LMXS27626 in August 2016. It’s a nice fridge and worked well for our needs. Last year we had some minor issues but last week (May 2020) it stopped cooling completely. Annoying but we figured no problem. We will get it it repaired. We have since learned the mess we are in. We called every repair service in the area all of whom told us they do not work on the linear compressor. They helped us understand that it is a unique system that only LG service providers can fix. No problem we thought! At least it’s under warranty. Then we called them. Before I even hung up the phone with LG customer service I received the following email: LGs Authorized Service providers in your area are not showing availability at this time. We are urgently reaching out to other service providers to request their first available slot so that you can be supported as quickly as possible. You will be notified when an appointment is confirmed. If 7 days has passed from the date of this notice and you have not been scheduled for an appointment, please contact LG and we will escalate your case.I then took it upon myself to look at the LG website and called the 2 listed service providers in our area. They both stated they are no longer completing LG warranty services. Unsure of where to turn, we called Orville’s where we purchased the fridge. They gave us a phone number for who they said is the only LG employee who completes these repairs in our area. We called him and he was kind and helpful but he is unable to complete the repair unless LG sends the request. (We wondered why they hadn’t.) He double checked and never received anything pertaining to our issue. Good news is he has availability later this week and said he would be happy to do this but we must call back LG.I called & they told me that if we give him our Reference number that he will be able to set it up. We call back the tech/LG employee who says that is NOT true. I called back again and tried to tell them that we have an LG employee who is ready & willing to complete our repair this week but need them to set it up. They sounded surprised and after some back and forth on hold said they weren’t allowed to do this.Ok so what is the next step? I was told that LG is reaching out the an alternative service provider and will let us know when they get something on the schedule. Couldn’t get a company or any clear idea of what would be done. I asked when we might hear something and it was unclear but there wasn’t even anyone available to talk more with until Monday! So it’s 90 degrees and we don’t have a refrigerator. This is the only website that I have seen LG respond to. I will survive but honestly there are other customers who can’t access the same resources and it is concerning to read that we are one of SO MANY that go through this. This is clearly a widespread issue and LG’s lack of response so far will cause me to shop other brands in the future and also warn others of these problems. It’s not so much the fact that the appliance failed, it’s that it’s impossible to get it fixed in a timely manner. LG needs to find a solution and get some sort of procedure in place. I am hopeful this review will trigger a response & resolution.
I purchased my refrigerator on April 2017, since then my fridge had a loud operation noise. My retailer then contacted LG and the technician texted me to confirm that he would come on Jan 13 2018 to fix my refrigerator. On Jan 13 2018, I waited all day and sent him texted him for confirmation, he never responded. On Tuesday Jan 16 2018, he called me that he will come that day, I had someone waited at home all day for him, he never came. Then he called me and confirmed he will come on Saturday Jan 20 2018, I waited all day and he never came. Today Jan 23 2018, I chatted with Lizzy on www.lg.com, she told me that LG does not have technicians, and LG refrigerator does not have One year warranty, and my warranty has expired. She told me to call (800) 905 0210 and (718) 824 2400, I called (800) 905 0210 and was told that they do not service Queens, I called (718) 824 2400 and was told they only service Bronx.
My LG LRE30755ST was taking forever to reach 350 and even then, when the digital panel reads 350, the actual temp inside was only 300. We accessed LGs website to maybe view an exploded diagram or to order parts, just something useful, but they only offered the lousy owners manual (which we already have). They said wed have to submit a repair service request and theyd put us in contact with a repair tech, which basically means they dont think we are smart enough to work on their crappy appliances! **! We researched an exploded diagram on AppliancePartsPros.com and ordered the thermometer through them (bless them!). When the location of the thermostat was not obvious, we called LG and simply asked them where the thermostat is located. They said they dont give out that information. I absolutely think LG is making a huge business error by not helping their customers. I dont give a crap when they say its for our safety because thats **! Unplug the stove and dont cut yourself on sharp edges, thats all the safety we need to know! I hate LG! I hate LG! I hate LG!
I called the store we purchased the unit from, Lowes, who immediately told me they have a hotline number I can call and that they have a policy that if a repair person comes out two times, they will replace the unit. It was a known problem with the motherboard on the computer. LG on the other hand, in Korea, after telling me they would replace the refrigerator, after another long wait, finally contacted me and said they couldnt replace the unit. All in all, very pleased with Lowes coming through to get it working properly. Id give them a 5 star for helping and their customer service!
I bought a HE LG top loading washer and it just does not get my clothes clean. I work construction and my knees get dirty. My old sears kenmore always got my jeans clean. This new expensive HE machine is a piece of crap. Do not buy one!!!!
I choose because of the brand and the price I got it at. It was a once time deal so I took it. IM very happy with the product so far. It has met all my initial expectations so far. Freezer at the bottom and enough space for my food and drinks and other things. It does what its supposed to do. I would buy two if I could. The lg refrigerator is one of the best investments IVE ever made.
LFX31925ST/00 - Nothing but problems! 3 instances of the freezer defrosting. The ice machine leaked from day 1 and rusted down the front of the door and around the dispenser. We had to fight to get that door replaced. Theyve fixed the freezer twice as well and my food is defrosting AGAIN as I type this. Geek Squad guy is outside on his phone trying to handle it when what we should be doing is picking out a new fridge because ours should be recalled!!
LG LSC26905TT not cooling. The LG rep, Abes Appliance Repair, says faulty compressor. The fridge is 4 years old, 7 years warranty. LG will not replace because we have lost the receipt. Abes wants $500 to fix it plus the cost of a new compressor. The fridge cost over $2000, stainless! We also bought a new stainless range, also faulty. The largest ring stays one all the time, fire risk. The microwave glass fell out of the door! I fixed it with a small screw. The dishwasher is okay because we never use it. All appliances were bought at the same time. I am very disappointed. This is junk.
I bought washer and dryers LG (Model WM3170CW and DLE3170W) in Sept 2015. Since that date I made 8 service calls. We had trouble with seal, door, water dripping, UE error code. Due to water dripping with poor seal, we have spot on both machines. We had to wrestling with the customer services. It is the WORST machine we bought in our life. AVOID LG!
We bought our LG washer and dryer in 2006. You can take any of the complaints/descriptions from the others and put our name under it as our problems are the same as theirs. The problem with smell and extreme mold buildup started immediately and continues to this day. We clean it weekly with washing machine cleaners, bleach and dishwasher detergent to no avail. The washer door stays open when not in use. LG customer service? It does not exist. We will never buy an LG product ever--not even an alarm clock! I would give it zero stars if I could. We have a smelly washer filled with mold and mildew. We are going to buy a new washer today. Good riddance, LG!
One of the dangerous times was when I woke up in the middle of the night smelling gas. The knob on the stove for the burner had turned on slightly without my knowledge. The whole house was filled with gas. This happens frequently but I am normally aware of it when it happens. Any time I lean against the stove or I am trying to clean it, the knobs turn on. This would be EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WITH PETS OR SMALL CHILDREN.
Our refrigerator (model # LMXS30776S) is just over 3 1/2 years old, and this will now be the 7th time we’ve had it fail. Just last month, we had to have the ice maker replaced because of a leak. Five months ago, the evaporator, drier and ice maker assemblies were replaced as it was not cooling. The year before that we had to have the compressor and evaporator replaced along with a repair to the ice maker, losing a vast majority of our food in the process. Now, not only is the ice maker not working, but the fridge won’t cool below 52 degrees. Based on all of the complaints and class action lawsuits that have surfaced, this is a widespread problem that needs to be remedied. History would suggest that we will be in the same position in another 6 months down the road. LG needs to be held liable for the damages caused to their customers.
LG Washer has mold and mildew inside the washer and does not come out. The machine is defective and I would like to return it for a full refund. The store should return it to the manufacturer. We all know the results of mold and mildew. Its permanently in our clothing and it has caused allergies.
I purchased an LG front loading washing machine and it doesnt clean our clothes. There is not enough water coming into the machine to clean the clothes so they come out dirty. They have sent a technician out twice who claims it is a defect in their machines but then writes a report that the machine operates, so customer service wont do a thing to help you. This is the worst customer service experience I have had. Dont waste your money. They dont stand by their product!
I have had a bosch ventless dryer for over 10 years. I know they can be finicky, and my Bosch definitely had its issues. When it came time to replace I thought I was going to be stepping up in terms of technology and quality with LG. The washer has been fine. The dryer started leaking on the second day I used it. The repair guy said it was leaking from the drum, rust had already started so he suggested I call and have LG bring a new unit. Second unit came and it started leaking immediately too. The leaking is about 1-2 cups of water that comes out of the bottom somewhere.A second issue is the dryer is constantly stopping on its own. Just about 10 minutes in the cycle it will stop and beep. To finish a whole cycle, the button has to be pushed about 4 times.I am in the process of having Home Depot switch this one out. Im tempted to just have them return it and take my money to Best Buy to buy a Bosch dryer, but then Ill have a mismatched set for the next ten years. Im so furious at this point because I did my homework and these dryers have been such a bust.
I purchased an LG top loader model WT5070CW on August 31st, 2012. From day one, it did not work correctly. Water would not fill properly and kept getting an IE code. I spoke with LG customer service, and they gave me a local repair center. They came out and said it was either the control board or a bad valve. He said he would order both parts and just replace both parts. I was notified today that the valve is on back order until Nov 29th! Unacceptable! This washer is only 2 months old, and now they are telling me I cannot get my part for another month? I told them I want a replacement or the part in the next day. They said sorry. I will never ever, ever buy an LG product again! My clothes do not get clean and the washer was defective since day one! I have filed a complaint with the BBB and want to get the word out to people to never buy an LG product. They do not stand behind their product!
This machine rarely gets my clothes clean. It does not seem to have enough water to really clean. The worst part is the mold and mildew on the rubber seal and drum that is impossible to clean. I do use the tub clean, vinegar, and bleach but still have brown slime covering my clothes and bedding. I think it has made my husband and I sick from the mold and mildew that we cannot get to and clean. We are told to leave the door open so it can dry! Why would a machine be made that you have to leave the door open (which we do) and have to constantly clean. It still does not help. I would not recommend the LG front loader.
We purchased an LG refrigerator model #LFXS30766S from Lowes for around $2400.00 a little over three years ago. Recently that refrigerator just died and we lost all of our food and had a water mess to clean up. We contacted Lowes and of course the extended warranty expired just a few months prior and they could do nothing for us short of selling us a new refrigerator. We contacted LG and they agreed that it was probably a bad compressor which they warranty for ten years. They sent a new compressor and associated parts directly to our house and contacted a local appliance repair company to come and do the repairs. Thats when the nightmare really began. The repair company scheduled us 8 days out and when the repairman showed up he said he couldnt fix it then because it was a three hour job and he needed more parts. We were rescheduled for another 11 days out. The day before that appointment it was canceled for unknown reasons. The next scheduled appointment was a week away. This time a different repairman showed up and he had no idea that someone had already been there previous and that the compressor and parts were at the house. He left to go get refrigerant and we never heard from him again. That was day 26 without a refrigerator. I finally just contacted a recommended local appliance repairman and he came and replaced the compressor the next day. What a nightmare! Well never buy another LG appliance EVER, and will warn everyone we know to avoid them also.
I took delivery of my LDF7551ST on 4/4/2013 from a Home Depot appliance delivery agent! The first OE error MESSAGE CAME 2 weeks later. Downloaded app, diagnosed issue, wash, rinse, repeat a minimum of every other month. LG absolutely NO help. Will be taking out and buying a Bosche. NEVER ANOTHER LG APPLIANCE as the refrigerator delivered the same day has some problems too!!!
Bought an LG range in Nov 2014. Oven wont hold a temp. Tried everything. Emailed AND 800 number. No answers. No offer of a house call. Tonight, tried baking one potato. Started at temp 420F 1 hour ago. Raised to 435F, to 450. Still RAW!!! Absolutely AWFUL appliance. Had to give it 1 star b/c theres no -0- stars.
When I bought my washer, I was told I had to leave the door open to keep it from molding and smelling. I thought that was very odd, but it is correct. Even leaving the door open between loads, I still have a musty moldy odor that lingers on our clothing. I use the correct detergent and clean the washer like directed by the instruction manual. I hate this machine.
I own the LG WT5101HW top load washer. I purchased 3yrs ago from Best Buy. We have a family of 5 so I hoped the extra large capacity would be a great option. Unfortunately we have benefited from this option due to it throwing it off balance and giving an UE code. We received a recall letter and had the LG repair guy change the part (I believe the circuit board) in September 2013. Its no ones fault but mine that Ive waited 9mo to complain about the fact that the problems have been worse since the repair was done, but in my defense it didnt happen right away. The knob for the settings however did not get put back correctly and does not spin freely like it used to, but I tried to overlook that since it would cost me a day of work to have the repair guy come back out to fix it. The unbalance code would occur only about 2 or 3 times a month in the past and we just thought it was overloaded or honestly unbalanced, but when we checked it the clothes were not shifted in a way that shouldve caused it to be out of balance in my opinion. In the last 2 months however the code goes off more often, to the point where its every other load it seems even on a small load. The drum is very violent and causes the machine to shake around a lot. And when you move the clothes around and push the start button again even if it says only 1minute is left, it will run for an hour if you dont stop it. We have had to just turn it off and put in the dryer. Thankfully it has not ripped apart as Ive seen in videos, but at this rate it seems its any day now. When I called LG about the on going issue, they said that a repairman could come look at it, but it would be at my expense since its out of warranty. Doesnt matter that it is the same problem from the recall nor did it matter only 9mo have passed since the recall repair was done. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was given the same speech. I have been a huge LG fan for years after buying my first flat screen t.v. from them, but our family will never own another LG product after this and I will spread the word about LGs lack of concern involving a very expensive washing machine that last less than 3yrs. Id rather have my old Whirlpool washer with over sprayed paint to cover the rust at this point!
LG Front Load Washer Model # WM9000HVA - This is the worst washer to hit the market. Close to being a year old, it started leaking, contacted LG. Then was told washer out of warranty. Found receipt. Called back, then was told technicians are all booked up. They have been directing me to videos for 2 months to resolve the issue myself. I finally got tired of getting the runaround, today I filed a complaint with my state Attorney General. We as consumers should not have to put up with this.
We bought a LG two drawer refrigerator just over a year ago and now has cracking on the interior back wall. After calling LG and the store where we purchased, we are left with no resolution. Both the store and LG says this does not fall under any of the warranties and there is nothing they can or will do. This is a $3000 paper weight at this time. It appears that there are many issues with LG backing their products. I wish I would have researched more and I would have never purchased a LG. I will never purchase a LG product again and will not give any recommendation to anyone to purchase a LG.
I have a top loading Waveforce model. Im one of the few lucky owners in that my machine has worked - sort of - without the recurring problems of broken parts, leakage, and poor customer service mentioned above. That said, the problem with this dog is that its supposed to weigh the clothes and dispense a volume of water based on that weight. Unfortunately it ALWAYS grossly underestimates the amount of water needed with the result that much of the load sits above the water line (exposed to the air) for the duration of the wash cycle and doesnt get cleaned very well. This holds true for any size load, from light to heavy. The only setting Ive found that dispenses enough water to adequately wash any size load is Bulky Bedding, which dispenses quite a bit of water regardless of the size of the load. The problem is, if you only need to wash a few items and you want them to actually get washed, you still have to use this setting with the result being that you end up with much more water than you need to get the job done. This will be the last high tech appliance of any kind I will buy from any company, especially LG, because all of these companies massively overcharge for bells and whistles that never work as advertised. Same principle holds true for the LG dryer. It (and my previous Bosch dryer) claims to have a sensor that detects moisture IN THE DRUM, which in turn controls when the dryer turns off. Problem is, it almost always underestimates the amount of moisture IN THE CLOTHING ITSELF with the result that the load doesnt always dry properly. From here on out every appliance I purchase will be basic, low tech appliances that do a better job for a fraction of the cost of the bells and whistles versions.
When I purchased my LG Washer I was so excited! I researched washers and chose this particular company because I read reviews that discussed the quality & quantity capabilities of this particular brand. I spent more than I had planned on this purchase because I wanted a quality washer. I loved this washer, it was the one thing in the house that I told my family I truly enjoyed using. I recommended it to my friends who were looking to purchase a new washer... It was the best appliance I had EVER owned...THEN IT HAPPENED! The intake valve on the washer messed up and needed repair. That was okay, everything has to have maintenance. So I called MULTIPLE appliance repair shops (11 to be exact), and was told time after time, Maam we dont work on LG appliances, it is impossible to get parts for them. So I called Lowes (where I had purchased the appliance), they no longer take care of parts but instead give you the number of the place to order parts for the products they sale. My husband called the number, ordered the part (which he paid for so it could be shipped to our door)... He was told the part would arrive in 7-10 days. We watch a video on how to install the part and wait for it to arrive... That was in OCTOBER!!! Todays date is December 27!!!After two weeks we called and was told it was on back order but should arrive in another two weeks. Second call was told it was still on back order may be two more weeks. Today when we called we were told the part can be found NOWHERE IN THE USA. He said they were trying to get one from Korea, and would try to let us know something in the next 24 hours about how many more weeks it would be... Listen, I am generally a calm patient person, I grew up in a house with 14 people, I understand waiting your turn. However, I also own a company and I know that your product is only as good as your customer service & support! It doesnt matter how great the product is... If you cannot repair it when it is broken... IT IS JUNK!I will NEVER buy a LG Product again... NEVER! I am trying to save someone else from the same heartache of walking past a brilliant, expensive product on your way out the door to the laundry mat. If you are part of the LG team please learn from this review... You have a great product, but unless you improve your customer service, and parts availability... You will not last long. I will most likely have to purchase another washer, and move forward from this mess. IT WILL NOT BE AN LG APPLIANCE.
Worst washer I have ever had. Does not wash dried food etc off clothes. I think it dont give enough water to wash properly. I always do extra rinse cycle because I dont like the thought of wearing detergent in my clothes. If I could afford to get rid of this piece of ** I would. But right now Im stuck with it. If I could give this washer a no star I would because it is worthless.
The inside drum of the washing machine starts hitting the body of the machine when rotating at high speed. The noise created is like very horrible. Also the customer care doesnt register the complaint. They provide useless solutions. Neither do they send any technician.
We bought our french door fridge in 2007. First I noticed that the shelves sag, and dont seem to hold weight very well. I had to replace the door to the pull out drawers twice, and Ive just put in a second service call regarding the ice maker. We replaced it once already, for the price of $412. If we have to replace it again, we will have spent $1,000 on repairs, for a fridge that cost $2,000. I will never buy an LG product again. And if youre thinking, maybe were being a little rough with the appliance, our family consists of two adults, period.
Save your money. Do not buy LG appliances. We spent almost $1000 on a dishwasher in May 2019. By November 2019 the motor was going, as explained to us by an LG service/ repairman. Called the Corp office in AL they told us to buy a new DW and they would send a third party vendor out to pick up the damaged DW and reimburse use the purchase price, NOT the delivery and installation fees. We purchased another more expensive dishwasher, not LG, and put the old one in our garage. After a zillion phone calls the DW was picked up in January! We were told the check was in the mail. Since no check has arrived, a call was made AGAIN to LG Corp. Advised they still don’t have the DW!! Obviously the check in the mail was a lie!! Called the fulfillment center who advised DW has not been picked up yet by FedEx, even though it was picked up at our house on 1/22!! It is now 2/10, about 3 months since this nightmare started and we are out $2000 for purchasing 2 dishwashers????
The LG refrigerator bottom freezer was the worst purchase I have ever made. I will not buy nor recommend purchasing any LG garbage. Horrible, horrible service from LG. Ive only owned this piece of garbage for 4 years. Ive had the repairmen out 6 times and the freezer still doesnt work. LG still refuses to replace it. Be smart, buy something other than LG.
On 7-20-2010, I purchased an LG french door refrigerator, model LFX28978ST from Best Buy for $2,168. On May 26, 2014, I reported the failure of the unit to LG. I had an LG authorized service technician diagnose the unit, and he determined that the compressor has definitely failed, and that very likely, the entire sealed system had failed as well. He, while still in my home contacted LG and conveyed the information, but they stated they would seek replacement only of the compressor to be certain. After two days, I called the service organization again to determine when the repair would be authorized and made. They noted that no authorization had been received from LG and that I would be responsible for the full cost. Thereafter, I contacted LG and requested a service authorization. It was noted that one would be provided. Approximately two days later, I re-contacted the service organization regarding the repair. They stated that LG would not allow them to seek the part from their normal parts distributor, and that it must come directly from the company. They additionally stated that they had ordered the part from the company. When I requested the shipping and estimated delivery date, the service organization stated that LG never releases that information to the service organization. As a consequence, I re-contacted LG and requested the same information. The LG representative noted at that point that the part had been ordered, was in stock, yet had not been released for shipment. The representative added that they would seek to determine its release date and return my call. They did not. I contacted LG again to inquire of the part shipping date, and was told that since so much time had elapsed, I was being transferred to the defective returns area for resolution. Once within defective returns, I was provided a non-negotiable buy back of the unit at an LG depreciated price which amounted 67.6% of the purchase price, an amount which approximates to straight line depreciation for the period the unit was owned. Inquiring as to options, the defective returns area noted the only options were to take their offer, or wait for repair. I additionally inquired as to when the part would be shipped to effect the repair, and could not be given a time frame. Even when feeling forced into an untenable offer, the LG defective returns representative was able to add injury to insult, stating it would be 2 to 3 weeks before I would receive the check representing the buy-back. The approach LG has taken in my instance has the appearance of purposefully failing to comply with the repair terms of their warranty in an effort to compel consumers to accept a non-negotiable defective product buy-back offer. In my instance, I conceded under the duress of needing to replace my refrigerator. I will, however never purchase another product manufactured by LG under any nameplate (Sears, please take note).
My husband purchased this set less than 5 years ago. Our clothes smell horrible, like mold and mildew. We have tried the tub clean cycle on the washing machine, have bought products designed to clean the washer, and we leave the door and detergent drawer wide open when not in use to try to keep mold from growing. Absolutely nothing works! I contacted LG customer support and they said I had to get someone to service it. Why should I pay someone to do what I have already tried? There is nothing they can do that we havent already attempted. Like others have noted, the thing also will not stay level. My washer is on a top floor and it sounds like an earthquake when the spin cycle is going. The dryer is no better. The clothes are rarely even close to dry when it stops and I have to continuously keep running it for multiple cycles to get them to dry. I should have just kept my top loading Maytag instead of wasting a lot of money on this piece of junk. I never had to buy products to clean out mold and mildew from the top loading Maytag, much less pay someone to service it.
OMG, where do I start? The machine has been nothing but problems. It was quiet for 1 day, then the noise and vibrations coming from the machine sounded like a squealing pig. Technicians have been sent out. He practically rebuilt the washing machine, replaced the motor, the stator, clutch, pretty much everything, now worse than ever! Please dont buy an LG appliance and do yourself a favor!! Whats so ironic is the fact its advertised as True Balance anti-vibration system. Somebody at LG advertising must have thought this term on April Fools Day!!!! I literally HATE this machine.
We bought a new LG Washing Machine from Lowes in March 2015. We have already had problems with the machine. Now we are getting the message E6 which means we have a clutch problem. We have had to wait a week for the service call. Very disappointed with Lowes and LG.Updated on 08/14/2015: It seems as if we are nothing to Lowes or LG. The repairman showed up Tuesday and now has to order parts. These parts are a clutch and PC board. Lowes and LG has no idea when the repair company will receive the parts. We have now been without a washing machine for over 2 weeks. I will not buy another LG product nor do business at Lowes unless it is an emergency. Thank God we do have a 5 year warranty on the washer and dryer.
I purchased my LG French Door freezer model number LFX25976 through Direct Buy during 2011. The bottom freezer abruptly stopped freezing and the refrigerator stopped cooling. However, the fan works. Was initially believing refrigerator had gone into automatic defrost but after two days of none cooling or freezing, my belief now is that the compressor may be the culprit. One year ago, same incident occurred but after several hours, my refrigerator began cooling and freezing again. Contacted LG during that time and was advised that it was common for the refrigerator to automatically defrost and does so without any warning. But this time it has been two days and my refrigerator has yet to begin functioning properly.
I purchased 2 sets of LG appliances. Both of the dryers have sensor drying that has never worked properly. I have called people out who tell me it is the vents that need cleared. After having that done, it still takes hours, literally to dry things. Sometimes I just give up and hang things in my bathtub to dry. I do not recommend this brand. Model DLG3744W. Purchased from Home Depot.
I purchased an LG refrigerator 7 yrs ago for $3,000 and the compressor just went out over a week ago. I was unaware of the class action lawsuit over the compressors until I started researching for reviews. According to the manufacturer, the compressor replacement is under the 10 year warranty so they will cover the replacement. However, it will cost about $1,000 for the labor and additional parts besides the compressor to be replaced. And... heres the kicker, even after its replaced the manufacturers warranty date does not reset, it continues from the date of purchase. Thus only giving me 3 more years of coverage. Not good... If the compressors are only lasting 5-7 yrs or even less, I can foresee dumping another $1,500 into the refrigerator since the manufacturers warranty would have since expired. Not good at all LG. On another note, I had to have the cooling eliminate in the freezer replaced last year and it was only 6 yrs old. We dont do anything extreme to the refrigerator, it just sits there and keeps the food cool and frozen. It doesnt make sense to pay for a high end product for it to not stand up to higher expectations. Not good LG, not good at all.
LG Refrigerators have a known problem with their compressors and they die within three years. Although the product is still under warranty, it takes weeks to get parts and still the fridge doesnt work. Their customer service is horrible and they state they wont replace a unit unless theyve come out four times. There is a pending class action suit against the company and the company should recall these products and refund the consumers money. Save yourself the aggravation and buy another product. If I could give 0 stars I would.
The front left element of my induction range has stopped heating. The indicator light turns on, but the pot never heats up. It also doesnt recognize when a pot is NOT on the element like the other elements do. I tried unplugging the unit and plugging it back in but it didnt work. This range is over $2000 and has been in use for less than a year. Unfortunately, I purchased it barely over a year ago - a couple months before moving into my new house - which means that that warranty has just barely expired last month. I bought a whole set of LG kitchen appliances for the new house and 3 of the 4 have had problems so far (fridge compressor went out a month ago, microwave plate broke in half randomly while cooking 6 months ago).
This microwave caught fire while steaming vegetables. We heard a snapping sound followed by the entire inside space bursting into flames. I was able to extinguish with no damage except to the microwave. Since the unit was only 10 months old and still under warranty I called LG. Their response was immediate and a technician (tech) was at our home the next day. Upon arrival and inspection he made a few comments: (1) Why did we clean up the damages inside the unit? (2) What happened? (3) I need to call home office to talk to inside Tech.He made the call as we stood there and a Tech on the phone asked him to send a video from his phone with instructions from the Tech on the phone. Once completed he hung up and said this unit is fried and needs to be replaced but two Techs from home office had to review. Ten minutes later they called back saying it was customer error due to GREASE FIRE and they would not repair or replace. My only choice was to escalate the claim to LG management which I did. After sending them store receipt I asked for the denial and reason in writing which they absolutely refused to give me. The next day they emailed me to say they set up a Return Authorization Review and I should hear from them within 2-3 business days. It is now five business days with no response!I went to the store where I purchased the LG microwave, gave them my notes and asked for help. Once reviewed by store and they seen what LG was putting me through they said they would replace the unit. Would you buy another LG product after reading about this runaround? I would not but I certainly will purchase again from Best Buy as they stood behind a product that the manufacturer, LG in this case, would not.
I purchased a brand new LG refrigerator on 4/17/2017. On 8/20/2020 the unit stopped cooling. I contacted LG on 8/21/2020 and they confirmed the unit was under warranty and dispatched a local technician to come on 8/27/2020. Technician came as scheduled and basically said LG is known for making faulty compressors and he had about 40 other homes waiting for compressors. I followed up weekly but the parts were on backorder. On 9/11/2020 I received a call stating they could return to fix the unit on 9/17/2020. On 9/17/2020 technician arrived and stated the issue was not the compressor but the tank which holds the coolant. He said he should have the part in 2-3 days. After 5 days of not hearing from them I spoke to LG headquarters who confirmed the local technician did not know the issue so they dispatched a different local technician to arrive on 9/25/2020. The technician did not arrive on 9/25/2020 so I called LG HQ again and they stated the technician cancelled the appointment but did not know why I was not made known of this. They stated corporate approved a defective return number for my home also known as a DNR number but I had to call 888-412-8357 to follow-up. I called that number and waited 2 hours but nobody ever came to the phone. I tried again today, and no luck. I would stay away from LG appliances in all as this has been a nightmare for my family.
Refrigerator: Model No. LFX31945ST 3-door LG Ice & Water Stainless Steel 28 Serial No. 207KRWZ0A593 purchased on 09/16/2012 from hhgregg 1321 Huguenot Rd. Midlothian, VA 23112. Contacted LG Service Department on 07-01-13 Ref: Ice Maker. 07-03-13 Service Technician came out and ran a diagnostic on unit, determined that compressor was bad and had to order one. 07-06-13 9:20 PM Contacted service center and was advised that technician was due on Monday 07-08-13 between 8:00 AM and 12 Noon to replace compressor. 07-09-14 Contacted service center about noise coming from back of refrigerator. Unknown date contacted service center concerning error codes “er rf” on display unit. Technician scheduled to come out on 10-01-14.10-01-14 Service technician arrived to check on noise and cooling issues. Coil and fan motor frozen with ice. As technician was removing inside grille to get to fan he broke the grille. He defrosted the ice from the fan motor and replaced the grille with one he had in his truck. Set temperature for refrigerator to +34 degrees and temperature for freezer to -1 degree. He wrote up the service ticked and charged $81.98 for the “Duct Assembly, Multi (item number: **)” that he broke plus the $120 for service call plus $4.34 tax on the replacement grille part. 10-06-14 Sent Fax to a ** in the Alabama location concerning telephone conversation in which he advised LG would reimburse me for the cost of the repair part plus the tax. Fax included cover sheet, two page service ticket and copy of purchase order from hhgregg.10-22-14 Called service center and after a 20 minute hold to verify my status, was advised that I should hear from Alabama around November 3rd. 07-10-15 Around 4:52 PM Eastern Time, called service center and advised them that freezer was not freezing (temperature was 62 degrees and rising) and that all food in freezer had spoiled. Furthermore, the refrigerator temperature was almost 70 degrees and food had spoiled. Additionally the unit was making a loud motor noise in the rear of the unit. After trying to explain the issue over and over again I requested to speak to a supervisor. I was placed on hold for 38 minutes and 26 seconds until I disconnected the call from my cell phone, but not before I had called the service center again from my house phone. It was only after I explained everything again that I was informed that the executive staff (supervisors) department closed at 5:00 PM and that I could not run the “Smart Diagnostic” over the telephone because all of the service technicians in their department had also gone at 5:00 PM, that I would have to call back tomorrow on 7-11-15. The service center advised me that the service warranty had expired and any service call would be $120.00 plus parts. This was mentioned on three different times during the call. I did manage to schedule an appointment for a technician to come to the house on Monday, 7-13-15 between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Total time on the telephone service call was 58 minutes and 44 seconds.7-11-15 Called the service center again and had to explain everything that I explained twice the night before. After requesting to run the “Smart Diagnostic” I was placed on hold then performed the diagnostic. After a delay they informed me that the diagnostic did not come through and we had to do it again. Once that went through I asked what it showed and was told that they did not know, that someone from the technical staff had to review it. They told me that they could schedule a technician to come out to the house on Tuesday afternoon on 7-/14/15 but there would be a $120.00 service call charge plus the cost of any parts. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and they asked me what that was about. Finally after going back and forth with them I was placed on hold for about 12 minutes before a supervisor identified as ** came on the line. She asked what the problem was and then placed me on hold while she brought up my file on her computer. That took another 5 plus minutes. Finally after explaining everything to her about the previous night and current call she placed a one-time extended warranty on the unit and gave me an authorization number of: **. She advised that she could get a technician out on Tuesday afternoon 7/14/15 and when I told her that I had one already scheduled for 7/13/15 she confirmed it. This call was then terminated after 58 minutes and 11 seconds.7-13-15 Contacted by service technician at 3:12 PM who advised that he would be arriving in about 20 minutes. He asked what I thought was wrong with the unit and I replied that I thought that the compressor had gone bad. I explained the temperature readings and the noise it was making. He stated that if it was in fact a bad compressor that he could not fix it today as he did not have one with him and would have to order one. He arrived at 3:38 PM, removed the lower back grill panel to access the compressor and noticed a lot of dust on the evaporator coils. I asked him if I was supposed to remove the rear access grille to try and clean the coils and he advised against it stating that it could damage the vanes on the coils. He went back out to his truck to get his gauges and checked the compressor which he determined was bad. He advised that he was fully booked for tomorrow, Tuesday, 7/14/15 but would press his schedule and plug me in on the end of the day. He departed at 4:04 PM advising that he would call when he was on his way out to replace the compressor. 7-14-15 Around 1:23 PM service technician ** called to advise he was on his way. Compressor delivered via FEDEX this afternoon and left at the garage door. Technician arrived at 1:30 PM, completed compressor swap and departed at 3:30 PM.06-04-16 Noticed that items inside the refrigerator were not as cold and normal that that on several occasions milk and dairy products were spoiling before the “Best if Used By” dates. The inside temperature of unit felt cool and not cold. Placed thermometer inside the refrigerator portion of the unit and began taking readings. Also noticed that freezer unit was not as cold as it should be also. Placed thermometer inside the freezer unit and began taking readings as well. Temperature settings on the panel are set the same as the technician left them on his last visit on 7/14/15. Refrigerator set to 34 degrees and freezer set to -1 degrees.06-05-16 At 9:00 AM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 48 degrees on a dial-type thermometer and freezer showing 5 degrees on a digital thermometer. 06-05-16 At 3:00 PM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 50 degrees on a dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 8 degrees on a digital thermometer. 06-05-16 At 9:30 PM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 46 degrees on a dial-type dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 7 degrees on a digital thermometer. 06-06-16 At 10:00 AM took temperature readings. Refrigerator was showing 48 degrees on a dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 8 degrees on a digital thermometer.06-06-16 At 11:32 AM called LG toll free number (800-243-0000) received recording and sent link for self-diagnostic. Performed self-diagnostic as per link and advised to contact LG repair at (866-558-2559). Refrigerator was showing 50 degrees on a dial-type digital thermometer and freezer showing 6 degrees on a digital thermometer.06-06-16 At 12:10 PM called LG toll free number and automated system advised they would call back within the next two hours. At 12:15 PM was connected to a Customer Service Rep in the Philippines. I requested several times to be connected to an American Customer Service Rep in the United States but was told three times that there were no US representative at their location. After my fourth attempt I was placed on hold. At 12:18 PM the Philippine rep came back on the line and advised that they did not have a US contact number. I requested to speak to a supervisor and when queried as to why I explained that I wanted to speak to a US rep and that her service center should have a number. She put me on hold again. At 12:21 PM she came back on the line to advise she will transfer me to a supervisor. At 12:27 transferred to ** in the Alabama office. After trying to explain my issues with her she placed me on hold several times explaining they are using new software programs and have glitches. She is trying to plug in the extended warranty on the unit. She returned on the line to advise that she had scheduled the technician ** to come out between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM under Authorization Number **. She further advised that this authorization included the service call plus parts and labor. ** also provided a direct number to the Alabama Service Center at **. The telephone contact was terminated after 50 minutes and 47 seconds at 1:00 PM.06-07-16 At 11:15 AM received call from Service Tech who advised that he would be out within the next 15 – 30 minutes. He arrived at 11:35 and performed a refrigeration pressure check on the system. He stated that it appeared there is a leak at one of the coil joints where the copper joins the aluminum. He indicated that the High Side pressure dropped 30 psi with no movement on the Low Side and that indicates a leak somewhere in the system. He further stated that much drop could indicate only a ½ charge or less of coolant presently in the system. He explained that there was a company issue with ordering parts to have them overnighted to the customer. Lately the parts have been shipped to him which delays service. He stated that the parts he needs will be overnighted to me and should be here NLT 10:30 AM tomorrow, Wednesday, June 8th. He has scheduled an appointment for Thursday at 1:00 PM just to be safe and at present he only has one appointment for tomorrow. If I receive the parts tomorrow morning I am to give him a call and he will work me into his Wednesday schedule. He indicated that the job would take several hours to complete (Of note: He asked me if I was removing the rear access panel to blow out dust and vacuum the coil area. I told him that on 7-13-15 I asked him if I was supposed to remove the rear access grille to try and clean the coils and he advised against it stating that it could damage the vanes on the coils. He told me that he did not say that, that he highly recommends the customer remove the rear access grille and try to blow out the dust and debris, then vacuum the debris up, just being careful not to get near the vanes or coils.). After placing the order for the parts to be shipped/overnighted here he departed at 12:05PM.06-08-16 At unknown time, received call from Service Technician to advise that the FedEx tracking indicated that the parts he had ordered had arrived. I confirmed that and he indicated that he would be arriving sometime around 11:00 AM. He had ordered both a refrigerator coil and the freezer coil which had arrived and be commenced disassembling the inside of the refrigerator to swap out the refrigerator coil which he felt had a small leak on one of the connections. After steaming ice off of the end or the coil he replaced it with the new one. He then checked the pressurization on the lines and said that he was satisfied with the as it did not appear there were any leaks. After checking other things in the unit he packed up and departed advising that he would check back to see how the unit was performing.06-09-16 At 8:52 AM received a call from Service Technician, who was checking on the performance of the unit. I advised him that it did not appear to be cooling as he had predicted, that the freezer was in the teens and the refrigerator in the lower 40’s. He advised me to keep a check on it and he would schedule me for the first of the week. 06-12-16 At 3:14 PM received a call on answering machine from Service Technician who advised that he has me scheduled for Tuesday, 6-13-16 between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.06-13-16 At 2:07 PM received a call from Service Tech who advised he would be here within the next 10 - 15 minutes to check on the unit again. He arrived at approximately 2:25 PM and proceeded to first blow out the dust that had accumulated under the unit and on the coils which was minimal. He then began to test the system refrigerant and determined that it was not up to capacity. He then vacuumed the lines and added some additional Freon. He advised that it appeared that there was a little water in the line which he was able to purge. He indicated that the unit should work fine at this point with the cooling in the refrigerator set to 34 degrees and the freezer set to 0 degrees. I told him that I would continue to take temperature readings in both the refrigerator and freezer and if I noticed them not performing I would call him and let him know. After about 1 ½ hours of work he departed.06-14-16 At 8:53 AM received a call from Service Technician asking how the unit was performing. I texted him back at 11:39 AM advising that the refrigerator was at 37 degrees and the freezer was at 9 degrees. At 12:15 PM Service Technician called again to advise that he had mistakenly had a parts order sent to our house and wanted to know if was OK for him to come by and pick it up. I advised that it was not a problem. He asked about the refrigerator and I advised him that I would continue to monitor the temperatures several times during the day and evening for the next few days to see if the system performs as expected and would advise him of results. He advised that he will continue to check up on it and would be calling periodically. On 05-24-17 we returned home from an extended vacation to discover that the ice maker was not producing ice. Door was dispensing water but there was no ice in the door-side ice maker and therefore nothing to dispense. On 06-05-17 At 12:18 PM I contacted the Executive Offices in Alabama at ** to explain the issue I was having with the ice maker not working. The person I spoke with, whose name I failed to get, advised me that she would give me the number of the local service center to schedule an appointment for a technician to come out and diagnose the problem. There would be charges for the technician to come out, charges for the diagnostic, charges for parts and labor since the unit was past its one year warranty and had already been given a one- time courtesy and she was not going to issue another one. I was basically out of luck but could get it fixed through the technician with service call charges plus parts and labor. While the service technician was very personable and professional, that is the only thing good I can say about me experience with this company. The technician even told me on several occasions during his visits that the parts i.e. compressors, etc were inferior and the technicians were having all kinds of problems with them. With the experience that I have had in dealing with this company, I doubt that I will every purchase anything else with the LG label.
I purchased an LG French door refrigerator Model #LFX25991ST in Feb of 2013 and have yet to use ice from it. The ice maker freezes up and will not dispense. It also leaks water around the edge of the ice maker and now there are water marks on the front of the fridge and freezer door. They keep giving me the run around. They have sent people out 3 or 4 different times to fix it and it still does it. Am very frustrated. Worst $3000 purchase I have ever made.
After owning our LG refrigerator (model #LFC25760TT) for about four years, we were alerted one evening to a problem by a burning plastic smell. We discovered the lights within were unacceptably hot and had subsequently melted the light fixture at the top interior of the fridge. Looking online, we discovered we werent the only ones with this problem.
We bought an LG refrigerator and the doors quit closing. Because we had a warranty they fixed that. Since we bought the refrigerator the ice maker will not spit out ice. We bought an OTR LG microwave which cost $650. It is not user-friendly because no matter how many times you push a button you have to push it JUST right for it to work. We bought a LG double oven. Within the warranty period the plastic glass broke on the control panel. We have been waiting for months on a new part. They finally sent the new part and it was the wrong one. I think we are done with LG products.
If I could give less than one star I would, @years I have had this Machine LG - 5.0 Cu. Ft. 12-Cycle Top-Loading Washer and it has been broken more than it has worked. Door Breaks, Control board breaks, Control board breaks again. Now the Main Computer Board is broken! Still selling this POS and Parts No Longer Available! ALL LG Products Suck! Cheap China Crap designed to Break!
We purchased the LG French door refrigerator LFXS29626 in December 2016. After approximately 18 months of use, this virtually new refrigerator, stopped cooling and required a replacement compressor at a cost of $850. The technician doing the repair said that he is seeing many other “new” LGs with same problem. I can’t tell you how dissatisfied we are with this product and I hope there is a recall/reimbursements for the cost of repair. This is wrong!
Over the years we have had a number of refrigerator brands and have never had any major problems. Our LG refrigerator has lasted less than 2 years and after 4 weeks of dealing with this company we are still without a refrigerator. The unit stopped cooling and we called customer service. Seeing that it was a refrigerator we thought a day or 2 and it would be repaired. It took a week for their service rep from A & E Appliance Repair to arrive. It looks like this company has some connection to Sears. Then another week went by before a part arrived. Looking at the control board that arrive it had broken clips and it didnt look new. A few days later a service rep arrived and installed this part, no change no cooling. He indicated he would have to order another board. At the time didnt think this might just be a scam of sending out a used board. After 2 more weeks they are saying it is on back order and dont know when it will be available. The conversation is turning to buying a service contract. I have now spoke with 10-15 reps in LG customer service and a number have indicated they will expedite the process and get back to us. Never happens. You can never get back to the last person you talked to. I have seen some references to a class action law suit. This looks like the only hope anyone who has purchased an LG product has to recover the loss.
The LG side-by-side refrigerator with ice and water dispenser is only three years old, but major rust has developed on the door beneath the ice and water dispenser insert. The control panel has had to be replaced once. The ice bucket freezes up regularly and so the ice dispenser wont work (it has been replaced twice) and the ice cover has broken and been replaced. The extended warranty from Sears wont cover the rusting problem and LG refuses to do anything saying that the rust is considered cosmetic. We bought this unit because of its large capacity. However, with multiple repairs under the warranty and the rust, we regret the decision.
On 2/18, we purchased an LG refrigerator, oven, microwave and dishwasher. After installing all of the listed appliances, everything appears to be working fine except for the dishwasher. The rinse cycle contains to display an LE error code. We contacted LG immediately after receiving the code and we were told that the LE code indicates that we need a new motor. I am really unclear as to how a brand new machine that has never been used needs a new motor! LG has been awful with responding to our repair needs. As of today, we still have not received the motor repair that we have asked for. They keep stating that they are going to send someone out, but no one has come out as of yet. Please help!
We purchased an LG refrigerator almost 4 years ago but we have had on and off problems with it for a year and a half. It has had the board replaced about a year ago but this has not resolved our problems and the only service company in our city authorized to repair it doesnt seem interested in resolving our problem any further. The problems are several. The ice maker works when it feels like it. The door alarm goes off even when the doors are closed. The freezer light has had the switch replaced twice but still refuses to come on most the time. The freezer freezes everything but ice cream which remains very soft. I had heard Lg products were very good quality but this refrigerator has soured me on ever buying another Lg product.
Our LG fridge over here in Florida, has required 2 compressors. The compressor they replaced stop working 18 months later. I now have to pay out of pocket and lose out on groceries for the week during this pamdemic. The fridge was purchased in 2015. In 2017 compressor was replaced. On 9/23/18 same replaced compressor broke. Now again 4/22/20 and compressor is outbagain. I called LG and they gave me numbers to call on my own. AS Im now out of warranty. This is totally unacceptable and I can see why there is a class action suit against this company. I will be posting on all social media how LG handles its customers on an item they know is flawed. Hopefully I can deter others from buying LG refrigerator.
I bought LG model# LMV1683ST in 2012 from Best Buy. I pay around $250-$300 for my microwave. It was very loud and on 2016 it just stop working without a warning. This is a very bad product. I never overload it and it was only used by 2 people. I never overheat it, Max time heating was 10 min. Very short life product. This is a product to only buy for looks and nothing more.
Condenser blew in the 3 years Refrigerator. 3 weeks with no fridge. Lg said it’s under warranty but after a month of calls to customer service they have yet to send a letter of authorization to the repair shop. At least 20 calls later to them and they shamelessly lie and say it has been sent to dispatch and I will get a call in 3 days from repair shop. The authorized repair shop also has called and emailed to no avail. LG is the worst and I will never buy another LG product again.
We bought a french door LG fridge from Home Depot. It stopped working just after the warranty was up. Costing us all the food in the freezer and the fridge. NEVER BUY LG AGAIN. Now we face the choice of a costly repair and very possibly future breakdowns, or scrap the crap. And buy something decent.
The compressor went on our LG side by side refrigerator after only 3 years during the 4th of July weekend. Took 4 days to get technician to look at unit. He was here 5 minutes. Took pictures of model #s. Said he would be back in two days and replace compressor. LG said they would contact us regarding food loss. Nobody contacted us and they allowed $150 total for frozen and refrigerated foods. The compressor was ordered before the technician even looked at unit. I will never buy an LG product again.
LG fridge, a piece of junk. I purchased my refrigerator on Oct 2010 and have had service done on it 5 or 6 times by 3 different companies. I have been living out of a cooler for the last two weeks, which is not the first time and I feel that I need a new refrigerator or my money back to buy from a company that knows how to make a repair.
