Never buy this headache. As you will see from the previous reviews, the refrigerator stops cooling within 3 years and customer service is terrible. Its been a year, several service men come and it doesnt get fixed. Customer service is always reassuring you that they will escalate the issue but soon you are forgotten - no return call. During the winter the fridge started to do the opposite: freeze everything so we had to turn if off for periods. Now it makes a loud motor sound and, still, we have not heard back from customer service after two letters. I have been given the runaround so long that I am considering a filing a case. Dont be fooled by the concerned response this review will get, they will eventually ignore you. They deserve to be sued for their faulty product; their non-existent customer service and refusal to honor their warranties. Never, ever buy this fridge - what a lemon.

LG refrigerator is very good and one of the best in the country. It is reliable because I have used one of it and it has helped me a lot. It has five years warranty which consumers can used the product free of charge and go for refund if the consumer wants. It life span is higher and does not consume energy. LG is international known and it can be seen in all part of the continent. The product is good for everybody including low income household.

It has been just 2.5 years since I got my new washer and dryer, and now the dryer drum is cracked and making thumping noise. We just ran out of warranty. I have seen several complaints related to this. Is LG doing anything about this? I had recommended LG to my friends, but I am going to call them and let them know to not buy LG washer/dryer.

Please steer clear of this product. It is a nightmare to do laundry. Continually says its uneven and runs more and more water to try and balance itself. Unless you have hours to devote to one load of laundry, get another brand. I personally cannot understand the people I call at LG help desk; definite language barrier. This washer apparently is ultra sensitive to a sock or some other small item being on the edge and Im constantly rearranging clothes to try and get it to finish. Worst appliance Ive ever owned and Im in my sixties.

I purchased LG washer and dryer, the best in STEAM technology and thought I did a good deal. While we dont know yet if the washer and dryer perform well or not, we were shocked the first time we used the washer today to hear a lot of banging. We discovered the water tap was not open. Then when the washing was ready, it was wrinkled so we suspected the rinsing was done with warm water!! And that was true; the techs from SEARS installed the hoses wrongly. I give the SEARS install team 2 stars, thats it.Then, I called LG Customer support to complain about SEARS and they basically dont care. During the call, I discovered that the one who answered, with very lousy English, was a total ignorant and didnt know anything about a thing. It took many minutes of waiting time to get answer on what are the benefits of registering a product on the LG website, compared to not registering it..

Purchased refrigerator 3/6/17; currently on my 3rd compressor. Because of frequent compressor failure, sent certified letter to Huntsville, ALA President of LG Electronics USA 11/8/19 and again 12/27/19. Received Returned Receipt back both times, however, have never heard from anyone at LG. Replacing a failed compressor with the same type of compressor time and time again has proven to be very poor strategy, not to mention the inconvenience to your customer during the replacement phase. Loved LG; have 5 LG products in my home. Extremely disappointed with customer service.

First, one shelf, then another. The plastic cracks and then disintegrates. If I could rate this with a negative star, I would. Ive owned several refrigerators and in fact, we have an old fridge in the basement which is over 10 years old and it works well. It just didnt fit in the place upstairs. Nothing is broken on that older fridge. But THIS LG fridge, is in terrible shape. I just took out some shelves to clean and my middle shelf with the glass panel and meat keeper, disintegrated in my hand. Its in pieces. Im not rough on my fridges and I have never had this happen before. AVOID LG products will be my appliance mantra going forward.

We bought an LG LDF7551ST dishwasher about two years ago based upon positive consumer ratings. I even recommended one for my parents. After about 6 mos, started to hear a high pitched screeching sound - I read other consumers experienced the same problem. Repair person said it was a bad ball bearing in the motor. Replaced the motor... Unfortunately, my parents had to replace their motor as well. Now, our dishwasher doesnt dry at all. Excessive amount of water after a normal wash cycle. Will never purchase another LG product - going back to a Bosch.

I bought a french door model# LFC25776ST less than 4 years ago. Last November the compressor broke, after much runaround and redundant customer service, it was fixed under warranty (I paid labor of course as well as service calls from multiple technicians). LG gave me several names of repair techs they claimed were in my area, none of them were. I ended up finding one that can work on LG brand and convinced LG they were the only one in my area. 6 months later, the freezer and fridge are sitting around 40 degrees. The repair tech replaced the motherboard and fan before concluding the compressor failed again. I called LG and after they insisted on troubleshooting over the phone, they were convinced my fridge was not level, even though I told them a professional had diagnosed it already. I verified with 3 different levels that my fridge was sitting perfectly square. I guess Im just going to have to buy a new compressor every year until the 10 year sealed system warranty is up. I really wish I could talk to someone who actually knows what theyre talking about and cares about the customer. They outsource their call center to India where these people are just reading off a screen. GARBAGE. DONT BUY LG.

We purchased a $2000.00 refrigerator from Lowes a week ago and we already have to have the repair man out to fix a leak. He came to the first appointment right on time, diagnosed the broken line, and said he would order the part and call when it came in and to set the next appointment. Great! Well this was on Tuesday, it is now Saturday. I decided to call to see what is going on. I got a hold of the customer service rep and he advised me that the appointment was set for today being Saturday, between 1 and 3. I let him know that I had not received any call to set up any appointments, but OK Im home. It is now 5:30 pm, Saturday and no repair man, no call. I called Customer Service and the rude woman on the phone said he will be there between 1 and 5 pm. I explained to her the time I was told and she proceeds to argue with me, so I bit my lip and said OK. I called at 5:45 pm because we are getting ready to make dinner and didnt want to be in the techs way and him in ours. I believe I got the same rude person and she said he will be there when he gets there. Lessons learned: (1) dont purchase anything from Lowes (Lowes did say I could bring it back, which is a hassle because it is full and I dont have anywhere to put the food); (2) dont buy anything from LG. Horrible customer service.

My LG fridge is only a couple of years old and already needs major repair work to the doors. One side of the two doors seem to be worn out and will not close properly. The refrigerator had a whole lot of space inside of it. I mean I could always fit two or three gallon milk jugs in there. It also was really quiet so you could never hear it like some of the older less efficient refrigerators out there. But to improve the refrigerator I would add water filters and a water dispenser. I would also add more freezer space because people freeze a lot of things like meats. Also, I would give it Bluetooth capability with a tv screen next to the water dispenser. Otherwise LG has indeed met my expectations. When they show off they really know how to make appliances look good. I think what they do and what they are good at is keeping things simple. Sometimes, these other brands have too much going on that it just doesnt do it for most people.

My 18-month old LG top load WaveForce washer has the dreaded uneven load syndrome like so many others. The machine was recalled and repaired the first year and the problem started to appear. They made a small problem worse with the software upgrade. What is even more frustrating is that LG knows there is a problem, claims it will be repaired under warranty, sends a technician without a warranty repair number so he is forced to ask me to pay for the repair on the spot! I refused, asked the tech to leave and called yet another number I was given by LG to get my machine fixed. Why not have one customer service number? Why make me wait at home taking time off work for 4 hours and LIE to me that the repairs would be covered under warranty? Basically, I have a machine that looks like new but will take over 2 hours to complete a load (if at all). My old Amana cost $300 and lasted 12 years. This will be the last LG product I will aver buy!!!!!!

Think twice before you buy a LG refrigerator. The compressor on mine failed just past a year of use. LG repair people were less than helpful but they finally agreed to pay for new compressor but we were on the hook for labor because we had not purchased extended warranty. My granddaughter purchased a LG refrigerator just after ours. Her compressor failed just after a year. She did purchase the extended warranty but has now been waiting eight weeks for repair with no end in sight. Repair people do not want to do business with LG because it takes months and months for them to be paid/reimbursed by LG.

Purchased LG LFXS29626 refrigerator in mid-2015, the people at Home Depot were swamped with calls today. “It’s been like this for 4 months” she said. The Samsung and LG fridges made from 2013-2016 are all failing at an alarming rate, and any retailer that carried these disasters are feeling the backlash. The compressor on mine failed at 3yrs and 2 days exactly. I had purchased a 3 yr warranty, which including the 1 year from the manufacturer but doesn’t mean 4 years total. It’s still 3 yrs total. The first line of customer service with Home Depot refused to help with anything, but as most of us have done recently, we had to escalate to her supervisor. Credit where credit is due, Sup honored the extra few days and bailed us out of an $1,100.00 repair.Your mileage may vary but my compressor (the “New” Linear Compressor, guaranteed to last at least 2 years) failed along with the start switch block and a micro leak somewhere in their new closed-loop Freon system. But here’s where the issues started piling up: there’s no compressors in stock anywhere in the US. They’ve been failing at such an alarming rate they can’t be found. And to make matters worse there is no evidence whatsoever that LG’s engineering team has made any changes to the awful design of this piece. Their materials are pitifully weak and often just pot metal, their quality control/fit is ridiculously sloppy, and their whole concept of parts design is a disaster. My neighbor has one, purchased in January of 2015. His failed around last Christmas so we were biting our nails wondering when ours was going to let go. You can set your watch to it. We have 7 people in the family, and nobody is geared up to help us. The failures are just too chaotic. Home Depot has a 10 cu. Ft. loaner (a very small 3’ college dorm size), but it stays lent out due to the recent crises. I threatened to just buy another large fridge, this time one that would last like a Whirlpool - then return it. But they’re wise to that one. The new policy for fridge returns is 48 hours. Same for Lowe’s, Best Buy etc. After all, why should HD have to pay and compensate customers for sloppy Chinese imports that we keep gobbling up at a fever pitch?A call to LG revealed there’s nothing they can do for me even if case is escalated, so it’s living out of a cooler chest for the next 3 weeks. The service tech that came to the house noted that it would indeed fail again. He was working 10 calls that day, and 7 were either Samsung or LG refrigerators. And all of those were the compressor. He knew what my problem was before he walked in, but verified it anyhow to make it official. He and I discussed the “good” fridges for future reference: 1) Whirlpool (said he rarely has issues with those), 2) Some Kitchen Aids (watch out because LG makes some of those) and 3) Kenmore (watch out again because sometimes Samsung makes certain models). 4-**) SubZero and all the high-end units, but they still fail through the complexity of design. He’s been doing this for 7 years, so he knows. But we Americans are such suckers for flashy stuff. Like $7,000.00 internet refrigerators, a 20” LED color display, LED lighting with 4 doors, 2 icemakers, shiny black finish, two freezer doors, doors within doors for the fridge portion, stereo speakers, cameras inside the fridge to see what’s inside while you’re at the store with the cell phone app. And we love to impress our friends with a huge shiny expensive fridge. The kind that are designed to break in 3 year cycles. We rotated food to an old Kenmore circa 1982 that’s still running like a champ since we bought it 40 years ago. Not too big but it helped. Shelves are broken and doors squeak, but it still gets ice cold. No people, they don’t make them like they used to. And certainly no one cares one way or the other. It’s like buying a Mercedes; you’ll get little sympathy from anyone when it breaks down on the interstate. Especially the dealer. I’ve heard more ramblings of a class action against LG and Samsung of late than any time before. I’d keep your eyes peeled.

The details as to how to access the dryers internal parts dont match up with the dryer I ordered. When I explained this to LGs customer service rep he replied that its a generic dryer and we dont encourage homeowners to do the LP conversion no matter how competent they are as general contractors. Ive been trying for a month to get service on my dishwasher. Although the 1 year warranty is gone, the board is warrantied for 5 years. First time I called LG they gave me 2 phone numbers for 3rd party service in my area. I called them several times and never got a call back. I set out to look for my own 3rd party service and contact Sears because they advertise that theyll fix any appliance whether you purchased it from them or not. The repairman showed up this morning and told me that Id have to call LG to get approval from them to have Sears be the 3rd party vendor. The service fee would be $99. That was OK with me.I called LG and was told that they had a local LG authorized service in my city. I got transferred and spoke with them. I was told that they would schedule a repair if I paid $125 up front and then the charge me for the installation of the part (which was free). That would have amounted to over 30% of the total original cost of the machine. I have no idea what to do now. I was able to submit an email to service to see if I get a better answer. Regarding other reviews about how dishes stack inside the washer, I have to agree. I always had issues with glasses breaking because they fell over. I change the way I put them in. The thing I liked about the dishwasher was the short Turbo cycle. It was 58 minutes and did a good job. If you buy an LG Dishwasher be sure to purchase the extended warranty.

Purchased a BRAND NEW Kenmore Elite 2014. Within 6 months, had a frozen drain which froze up the food in the refrigerator part. It was under warranty, so fixed without cost. I lost food though. In Jan 2019 the evaporator, compressor and dryer broke!! It would have cost close to 1,000.00 to fix, so I bought a service contract with Sears, monthly cost of 50.00 to cover all the new appliances I had purchased from Sears. It still cost 99.00 for the diagnostic. I lost food again!!! Now July 10, 2019 the evaporator broke again, not even 7 months old and again I LOST FOOD!!! I purchased my home in 2010 that came with new set of LG appliances. I am having nightmares with the LG gas stove (model: LRG30357ST). Within few months, one of the knobs cracked at the plastic insert. Now why on earth would you design a knob with a plastic insert to mesh with a metal shaft? I replaced this with a new one costing $80. After a few months, this one cracked again and I had to junk the knob as it was of no use. Now after a year, the rest of the 4 knobs have cracked too and I have to use a Gorilla SuperGlue to hold them together. Not sure how long they last. Calling the customer service is of no use as they redirected me to the parts department. Why on earth would I pay $400 ($80 times 5) for 4 knobs? I will be junking the gas range once the knobs become unusable. My advice to fellow consumers, be cautious when buying an LG product and make sure you have reviewed thoroughly the comments by other consumers. I will never buy an LG appliance going forward. By the way, my LG dishwasher had its door and motor replaced (fortunately LG covered that). The only original part is the frame.

I spoke to a supervisor Abigale on 6/9 & spoke to another supervisor Kenisha on 6/10. I have spent $20.00 per day on ice, 29 days... We lost over $925.00 of food. I bought 2 large coolers at $60.00 each just to keep some food in house with buying ice every day. I spent $100.00 for a company to come out to find out what the problem is and what our LG 3 year old product needs. I have spent an entire day home for your so-called repair ppl from TNBS to service our unit on 5-25 no one showed. Wasted an entire day from work and that cost me $850.00. So I’m out of pocket. So I’m out of pocket almost $ 2500.00, how are you going to handle that situation. Plus my wasted time, gas getting ice, on the phone for hours day after day. I’m sure if you ppl at LG had your act together you’d find my information. By the way your employees don’t care and your compressors that you install on the new machines are already 10 years old. Your corporate office and president has no clue on treating clients properly. It’s beyond my comprehension why and how a company of this size survives with this type of attitude. So tell me when I’ll be reimbursed for all the damages? Having my dad on home hospice care made this situation beyond unreasonableOriginal Review: We bought our LG in Oct 2016. Worked fine up until May 15 2020. Compressor stopped. Had independent service person confirm & write report. Cost me $100.00. Called LG for over 3 weeks to get some to repair. Wrote a letter to the President of LG, no response. I have 5 people in our home, including a dad on home hospice care (I even explained that to every person I spoke with. Absolutely Zero customer no service, NOTHING). Finally after 4 weeks (and using 2 large coolers and filling/buying ice EVERYDAY) I called again, finally got through and got an appointment for a week later. Per the tech, LG doesnt care about issues, after the sale you can go pound sand. Typically his route consists of MANY people with fridges not working 3-5 weeks. We purchased an LG WT4970CW washing machine in August 2014 from Best Buy. Shortly after using it, I noticed some of laundry would be dry on top, especially sheets. Sheets would be pulled tightly across top of drum and be completely dry - obviously were not touched by water and detergent. Then, on subsequent loads, the machine kept giving error message: UE which means the load is out of balance. Machine shuts off in middle of cycle and you have to open the lid, pull the laundry out and rearrange it, close lid and machine turns on again. However, during one load, this happened up to six times and it took me four hours to complete one load of laundry. I dont stand by the machine while it is doing its job, so when I would expect the laundry to be done, I would go to my basement only to see the UE displayed which meant it wasnt finished.I had a repair person come to my home last week (10/2018). He called and spoke with an LG technical support person. He explained the problem and was told I was doing the laundry incorrectly. The LG agent told him I have to wash only like items at one time. In other words, if I have a load of jeans, tee shirts, polo shirts, mens underwear, socks, I need to sort the clothes and wash the jeans separate from the shirts, separate from the underwear and socks!!! The machine goes out of balance almost every time I wash two bath towels, one hand towel, and one washcloth along with a nightgown and some underwear. The LG agent said I should only be washing towels (up to six bath towels) at one time and nothing else. This is not how REALITY works! It would take me a full day to do the equivalent of two loads of laundry. It would also defeat the purpose of the water-conserving feature of these new machines. I would need to do six tiny loads of laundry in place of my normal two loads. Also, I do not have enough clothing to wait until I have a full load of just underwear so it is a normal-sized load. I dont even have enough pants and shirts to wait until I have a full load of just pants to wash. This machine is only 4-1/2 years old and I have to replace it. I also bought the extended warranty, but was only offered a one-year extension for parts only. Of course, the warranty expired in August 2016.The repair person said there were no parts to replace or would make sense to replace, because the cost of the repair would be almost the cost of a new machine with no guarantee it would fix the problem. He told me my complaints are very common complaints he has heard over and over from his customers regarding their LG machines. The repairperson highly recommended I buy a Speed Queen TR7000 which works almost the same way my 35-year-old Maytag washer worked and it comes with a seven-year materials and labor warranty. Cant wait to give the LG machine the heave-ho and get the Speed Queen machine! I will never buy ANY LG product as long as I live.

We purchased the LG TOMM Washer & Dryer, and the Washer Seal around the door has always smelled moldy and puttered. After numerous complaints we were asked if we ran an empty cycle with Fresh Product or bleach to alleviate the problem. My comment was and is twofold, first why would anyone purchase a energy saving product and need to run an extra load every third or fourth load to clean the machine which is suppose to clean our cloths? Where is the savings with that? Secondly why is everyone having this problem and the Foreign Manufacturer doing nothing? Besides maybe someone in this country still builds a quality product domestically! We are willing to pay the price to support good design engineering and American Built Products. No stars due this product.

We purchased our set (LG Tromm DLG8388NM Washer and Dryer) in 2006 and for the first two years, everything seemed to work well. But now, the washer leaks, the drum is corroded with black disgusting gunk that is difficult to get to let alone clean. The clothes stink even after washing them twice, with bleach and fabric softener. The dryer spins but there aren’t any heat. We spent over $2,500 on the set from Home Depot and have been disappointed to say the least. We also had a bad experience with an LG dishwasher and refrigerator. Both had to be replaced a year after purchase. We spent a total of $6,500 on LG products and they have not lived up to their Lifes Good name. My suggestion is not to roll the dice with any of their products because you will be angry and frustrated.

Used broiler one time. Noticed the knobs looked as if they were melting. Called customer service. I asked if there was a recall. They know, they said they were sending a set of new knobs at no charge. Called over a week later. They said it was denied. I did not receive a reject letter or call from LG. Filed a complaint with them on the phone. Receive a complaint number. Filed another complaint on line today and on this web site I agree there should be a recall for the stove knobs or a way of fixing the problem.

I bought this appliance less than 2 years ago. The compressor stop working right after the warranty ended. Lost all food due to LG delay in solving this. The fix from the 1st technician worked for 2 days only. 2nd technician came and fixed the mistakes from the 1st one and the issues with the refrigerator which was the compressor. LG refused to honor the 10 year warranty neither reimburse for the lost food. Never, EVER, buy any LG appliance or you will regret for sure!

I purchased a £1000.00 fridge freezer and have it warranted for 5 years, 2 with LG and 3 years with Curry’s. Fridge and freezer not working after 1 year 9 month. Took 8 days to come out and told me compressor was broke, so new one would take 8 day. After having to take a second day off work nobody turned up or called up to fit the new compressor. Phoned engineer who said I should have been called as compressor was broke so would need to order another. Gave me appointment for further 6 days to wait and I couldn’t get shift off so changed it to the Fri instead of the Wed. Appointment booked in.Few days after engineer should have visited a unnecessary part arrived at our home which would not fix freezer as engineer stated it was a compressor needed. Phone company LG use to fix freezer to find out why this part had arrived. Mentioned my appointment on the fri due and was told there was no such appointment. Even if they come out on fri I have had no fridge or freezer for exactly a month. Terrible customer service and will never buy another LG product ever again.

Ive had my LX228968SB 26.8 cu ft 3 door french door for 4.5 years and it has maybe worked right for 1.5 years... Have had 3 service tickets and the compressor was just replaced 6 months ago and is out again and so I have been without a fridge now for over 2 weeks, during the hottest time of the year and Ill just say it, LG doesnt care. Working with LG customer service has literally been the worst experience Ive had with any company, EVER!!! I cannot even begin to explain on how bad and unhelpful they are or how many times Ive waited on hold only to get dropped (it literally just happened) or transferred and dropped. This is one of my favorites. When I called in several weeks ago to set up an appointment, they said that Id be contacted with 48 hours... Well, after 57 hours I reached back out and they told me since they couldnt find anyone to repair my fridge, they cancelled my appointment, when I asked them when they were going to tell me?.... Crickets. Then I tried to reschedule and they said they get 3-5 more days to do that, excuse me, what??? I am currently trying to get a refund on my fridge and hopefully some of the $1K worth of food I had to throw or give away... Fun fact; LG only does up to $300 and if you fill out one question wrong on their form it tells you that you arent eligible and it locks you out, awesome, right??? Bottom line, quality, at least on their refrigerators is awful (class action lawsuit out against them on their compressors) but customer service is even worse, NEVER buy LG or pray you never need to contact customer service.

We purchased a new LG French Door Refrigerator from Home Depot in May 2015.
We purchased a new LG French Door Refrigerator from Home Depot in May 2015. In May 2016, June 2017, and June 2019, the refrigerator has stopped working completely, resulting in a total loss of the contents of both the fridge and freezer. We are a family of 5, so we have lost a significant amount of groceries each time. I called LG customer service yesterday (6/27) and was told that they could not help me, as we had purchased a (now-expired) 3-year warranty through Home Depot. After much back and forth, the rep finally agreed to schedule a service appointment. The first available appointment is for Monday, 7/1.We will be without a refrigerator for 5 days in the middle of a Texas summer, provided the issue is fixable. However, as the same issue has already been fixed twice, Im not confident that this will be a lasting solution. We spent $2800 on a refrigerator that has completely stopped functioning 3 times in 4 years. We were also informed yesterday that we may need to pay for the repairs, if they determine it is not a warranty item. We will never buy another LG appliance again.

We purchased a new LG Washer & Dryer 05-06-2013. The washer has been banging very loudly while the water adjustment turns on & off during its cycle. Also we have noticed a strong mildew smell in the washer as well. I have had to replace the hot & cold water valves due to this erratic banging of our plumbing pipes. We had contacted the LG contact people & they have not been cooperative/helpful. They gave me names & numbers of repair services that do not service our area. Called them the next week & was told a service would be contacting me within 3 days. However, no one had called us & they gave me conflicting info once again. We cannot afford to pay for any more plumbing problems due to this still erratic washer banging problem. Our other unit we had worked the same way. This unit does & it never gave us this disturbing problem. Sincerely!!!!!

Bought a top of the line LG washer. Washes regular loads of clothing well -- HOWEVER -- do NOT plan to wash sheets or mattress pads! No matter how I balanced the load, the machine cannot get through the spin cycle. This morning, I have taken some out (that didnt help) -- added the removed blanket back (that didnt work - no matter how I repositioned the items) -- put the first piece back and added additional sheets, hoping that would enable the machine to spin (nope - still wont spin!) I replaced my older Maytag front loader with this LG one and am SOOOO sorry we did! Please pay attention to the other reviewers advising against purchasing one of these LG washing machines! They are not exaggerating! This is a nightmare! LG serviceman could not help -- told me to only place items that fill the washer 2/3s full. Doing with this with bedding only makes the unbalance worse. Not sure what Im going to do with the wet mess I have in my laundry room at this point! YOUVE BEEN WARNED!

Bought an LG WT5070CW several years ago because of the extra large capacity. My old LG front loader died after 10+ years and since we had a good experience with their washers we went with another. That was the biggest mistake ever! We have a very large family and laundry can get behind fast. It takes a half a day sometimes to wash 1 load of laundry due to the UE code and our inability to get it to balance. Im way behind now and have had to resort going to the laundromat. After thinking about it, with the money we spent at the laundromat, I could have bought a better washer. If I could give it no stars I would. Never again and after reading some of the other reviews I may never buy another LG product. There is obviously no reason to contact the company either after reading reviews though I have sent an email to complain about this washer. The only thing it is good for is scrap metal.

On July 10, 2016 we purchased an LG refrigerator model # LFX25973D and serial # 602TRRC1Q486. I am disappointed because the product does not work properly. I have contacted LG multiple times and cannot get a satisfactory resolution to our problems. My first contact with LG was to fix an ice maker issue. LG dispatched a repairman on September 27, 2016. They adjusted the temperature and checked the ice chute, but this did not solve the issue so I called them and they came back out on 10/5/16. We had to call LG back to reschedule another repair order and the repairman was dispatched again on 10/18/16. They ordered 2 parts for the refrigerator, a dispenser ice door and a dispenser motor. The motor was shipped, but the ice door was not available at the time. We waited a couple of weeks and had not heard back from LG so we called them again and told them the work had not been completed due to not having the parts requested. They told us they would reissue another work order. We were expecting the same company to come back out but several days later a different company called to schedule an appointment and they came out on 11/25/16 and determined that they needed to replace the left door. The door was ordered and they came back out on 12/7/16 to do the warranty work.Around the end of December during the Christmas holiday the ice maker started acting up again and due to the holiday activities we held off calling LG until after the first of the year. During the 1st week of January we noticed that ice was starting to form on food in the refrigerator so we called LG again and told them that the ice maker was still not working properly and that there was another issue with food freezing in the refrigerator. We were told to adjust the temperature up in the refrigerator a little to avoid freezing and that someone would be dispatched for the ice maker again. We were getting frustrated at this point and requested that we get a replacement, however we were told that was not an option and that they needed to try to repair not replace the appliance. Each time we had to call there was a 3-5 day period of time to schedule the appointment and then another 3-5 days if parts were ordered, but this particular time we had not heard from a repairman for almost 2 weeks so we called the repair company to see if a work order had been scheduled and they told me that it had not. We called LG again to find out what the holdup was and we were informed that no work order had been scheduled and they would issue one, but it would take another 3-5 days to get it scheduled. I let them know that the refrigerator was not working at all and we lost all the food in our refrigerator due to freezing, including the new water filter that we just installed. LG did send me 2 new water filters to replace the cracked one. On February 3, 2017 we received a call from the 3rd different appliance repair company to come out and look at the refrigerator. When he arrived I told him all the issues we had been having and he determined that it needed a new main board to fix the issue of the temperature in the refrigerator and noted that the sensor was not replaceable. He did not look at the ice maker and said all ice makers have issues with ice freezing together and that I should just periodically open the ice door and shake the tray. He came back out on February 8, 2017 and installed the main board and informed me that if this didnt fix the problem not to call him again because he would not know what else to do. We set a bowl of water in the refrigerator just to check it out and it was frozen in the morning so I called LG again and was told they would schedule another repair order. Once again I asked if they could just give us a replacement instead of trying to fix this appliance as I had no confidence that this appliance would ever be fixed and that I had no intentions of paying for service calls after my warranty expired in about 5 months. Once again I was informed that this was not an option and that they needed to get the repairman on the phone with their field technicians to solve the problem. On February 14, 2017 the 4th different repairman was sent to look at our refrigerator. This time they took the refrigerator apart and at first told me that he felt like it could not be fixed. He said that the damper was staying open allowing the freezer air to reach the refrigerator, but he called LGs Field Support and they supposedly walked him through it and thought that it had fixed the problem. At this point he could not check the ice maker issue since we could not get any water to the door because of the frozen water lines. When he left I put another bowl of water in the refrigerator and several hours later noticed that ice was starting to form in the bowl and that now the refrigerator was showing an error message of F5 on the door. I went online to chat with LG about what the error message was and I was informed that it meant that the freezer sensor was bad and would need repair service. I immediately called LG again and told them that I wanted a refund or a replacement and was put off again. The supervisor told me that if I would hold on she would contact the repairman. When she came back online with me she told me that the repairman couldnt find anything wrong with my unit, we called her out on this and said, One of you is lying to us, because he was here for about 3 hours and thoroughly discussed all the issues he saw. Then she said that he didnt find anything that needed parts replaced and that she had dispatched him to come back out first thing in the morning of the 15th to address the error message. I was expecting a call the next day, but never received one so I called the repairman myself and he told me that he had not been dispatched yet. He asked me if I wanted him to come by to look at it and I told him with all the issues that weve had with LG that without a work order not to come.I called LG back and told them once again that a work order that was supposed to have been issued was not and that I was not interested in any more service calls and that I wanted a replacement. I was once again told that it wasnt an option so I informed the supervisor that their warranty said repair or replace and that after 8 service calls and fooling around with this issue since September that I felt like we had given LG ample opportunity to repair our refrigerator. I closed our conversation by letting her know that if they were not going to replace the refrigerator that I would seek resolution through the court system. On 2/15/17 I spoke with an executive supervisor at LG to let them know that I had filed the suit because I had not received any satisfaction from LGs Customer Service Department. She sent me a link so I could send her a copy of my receipt which I did thinking that maybe she would take care of replacing the appliance and I would drop the lawsuit, however we have had no further communications to this point.

I bought a home last year which came with the LG TruBalance top load washer
I bought a home last year which came with the LG TruBalance top load washer. I began having issues immediately with the “UE” code. It did not matter how large or small the load was, this code would come up every time I used the machine. I was constantly having to babysit the machine, re-distributing the clothes over & over again just to finally get one load done, taking close to 2 hours sometimes longer just to do one load. A lot of times I could see dry spots on the clothing, or I could see that the clothing was not clean. I had a repairman come who told me the issue was the computer software & that it would be better for me to replace this part rather than buying a whole new machine. I purchased the part & for a month I had no issues. Then the machine began to leak water from underneath, soaking my floor & also my dryer. Also, the dreaded “UE” code made a comeback, causing the machine to continue to refill with water repeatedly, start to spin, then flash the error code. I am so fed up with this machine that I have ordered a new Whirlpool with agitator just like I used to have. This LG is by far the worst machine I have ever owned, & I will not be buying any other LG appliances in the future.

After 20 years and replacing many parts on my trustworthy but not flawless
After 20 years and replacing many parts on my trustworthy but not flawless Maytag washer and dryer, I finally convinced my wife we should invest in a new set. Unfortunately, we didnt do our homework... she liked the LG set she saw at Home Depot, and away we went. I have to say, Ive made more expensive mistakes in my life, but not many.Theres not much to add that hasnt already been said here, regarding the uneven load syndrome and the fact that it takes all day and probably hundreds of gallons of water to finish what should be a 50 minute load on a water saving machine. Unlike others on this or other forums, I have NOT called LG. Based on all the horror stories I read on every repair site online, it seems pointless to even try. There seems to be NO recognition by LG at the vast extent of this problem with their products, and from what I see, no recourse by consumers. Of those who have gotten repair work done, many incurred significant expense for something that never should have happened in the first place. And for many, the repair (software, new circuit board, etc) was ineffective. The sad part is, I see no responsibility shared by any of the major retailers who sell these products.Im with everyone else - I will never purchase another LG product as long as I live, and Im really stuck with a decision of throwing away a washer that is under a year old, or living with this stupid thing until it craps out. Its apparent I will NEVER get my moneys worth out of it, so it seems pointless to hang onto it any longer really. The best we can do, I feel, is write to the retailers from whom we purchased these LG products and tell them about the issues, and let them know were not happy with their continued decision to sell LG products.

Worst company ever. Worst company ever. DO NOT BUY!!!! We bought a refrigerator that cost around 3500 new. And it only a year old. We have had to have it repaired 5 times now. I have fought and fought with corporate headquarters to get a new refrigerator. I dont want my money back just a replaced fridge. They make you jump through a a bunch of pot holes and then say they will not replace the fridge but give you a pro rated refund meaning less than you paid for it. How hard is it to replace a refrigerator when you are in the business of making refrigerators. Especially when you grossed over 322,000,000 last year. This corporate company needs to be knocked down a step. You can not forget that your customers made you and you are where you are thanks to them.

Im writing this letter in regards to my refrigerator. Ive been having problems with my refrigerator since last October after several repairs done to the refrigerator. I had contacted the LG company regarding the fault that I have with my refrigerator. A technician came to check the refrigerator and placed the monitor, and because that they had already replaced the part in the refrigerator previously, they said there was no fault found. So, I asked for a copy of the report, and they refused to send me a copy. They sent me another technician to install another monitor, and the technician was so ore gent man. He said to me I must have bad luck to have the same problem with the refrigerator. I said, Do not say that. Dont mix my luck with a faulty LG product.I called LG and Jackson company. I told them about what the technician said to me and told them I dont appreciate any one, no matter who you are, to come to my house and accuse me of having a bad luck. So, they told me that the manager is away to make the final decision. I kept calling LG, and they said the manager was on holiday that went for a couple of months. Then finally, when I called back in May, they said the manager was back and there were no faults found and that your warranty has expired; you have to get your own technician. When I was going back and forward with LG, I was dealing with Rod. I had mentioned to him if there were no fault found, if I could get a second opinion and compare the results with their report. He refused, and he said, If you get any one to check the refrigerator, it will be no longer covered by warranty. Finally, I called last 14/8/2012 and complained how its not fair that I have been treated like it. It is not my fault for having a faulty LG refrigerator. Im still waiting for Jackson to call me again, going through what we have been through for the past almost 10 months. Thank you for your time.

The LG steam washer I purchased about 3 years ago has been problematic and I would strongly advise against purchasing one of these units. The malodorous tub in this front loader is likely secondary to the water retention within the gasket Despite leaving the door open to dry, something unnecessary in any top loader, the musty black mildew persists! Obviously an engineering design flaw, the tub cannot empty completely. Despite leveling this machine on a concrete floor with the drawer pedestal, the machine shakes and rattles and dances over the concrete floor. The machine will never stay in one place despite attempts to keep it there irrespective of load weights. This machine is a piece of junk and LG will not listen to these complaints. Waste of money should have bought the Miele. All of their products are superbly German engineered! Please enlist a class action suit. The trailing entries are testament to the litany of problems.

Every other load, this HE top load machine (wt5001cw) goes off balance. At the end of the spin cycle, the machine repeats the rinse/spin cycle over and over until it goes off balance or I manually stop it. This causes the clothes to never spin fully dry. Ive contacted LG and they wont do anything, because I cant find the original bill of sale from Sears - although Sears did give me a printout showing a summary of my purchase from 10/3/2010 which includes the model number of the LG Washer, but not the purchase price.According to a repair estimate, the parts and labor for just a new control panel will be over $400, which still does not solve the balance problem. The machine is only 14 months old and LG doesnt care. By the way, Ive been using a family members new Whirlpool HE top loader and its working great, washing the same clothes without ever going off balance. I only say this because LG will probably blame the balancing issue on the clothes or me.

We had problems with our first LG, and finally got our money back. We went to Tate Appliance Center in Tampa, FL where we explained what happened and told it was probably a bad unit. Liking the range, we repurchased another and again bought the $2,500 5-year insurance. Were informed that Tate would replace anything that was wrong, including total replacement. Within the first year, the range top glass started to crack. We called LG that the front burner would turn off automatically, beep or stay on. The technician said LG would not replace it unless it was from the electrical units. Then it cracked across the whole top, which the technician said it needed to be replaced. Lo and behold, LG recalled 161,000 units, but ours was corrected. Now we have cracking from the back control panel. Tate said we had to call their insurance company, but we first offered to have them refund our money and we would buy a 4-piece stainless steel GE package, but they refused. The insurance company said the cracking is not covered since it is cosmetic! We fear what will happen next, but we will never buy LG nor from Tate Appliance Center ever again. Consumers BEWARE!

I bought a LG fridge in 2009. Within the first year, there was a recall on some part in the freezer which they did replace. Now, it is 2012 and I have had to have this fridge fixed 3 times at my own cost which cost me over $100 each time. My repairman says the problem is with the drain plug, a problem which LG is fully aware of. The hole around it rusts and the paint chips peel and plug up the drain, which in turn causes water in the freezer and on the floor. The fridge goes warm and the cool air cant get there. I just redid my kitchen floor the same year that I bought the fridge and the leaks are starting to cause warps in the flooring. I am so angry with this company for being able to sell such a shabby product and not having to be held accountable. I will never buy another any LG product on the market. This company is a disgrace!

I wish I would have read the reviews before I purchased the LG refrigerator my big mistake. We purchased the French door refrigerator on 12/2012. Didnt expect it to last only 4 yrs. Like other reviewers the compressors and motherboards have been replaced not even two months ago and already failing. We were lied to and given the runaround about getting the parts. Living out of an ice chest for 4 wks and replenishing the ice didnt come cheap. They really need some overhaul in the customer service dept as they must go to liars training. Now I see what a piece of junk LG is. I wish somebody would get a class action lawsuit against them. We were supposed to get an email receipt. Still waiting. Never again would I purchase LG.

We bought our brand new LG front load washing machine 2 years ago. It already has a bad bearing. LG will not warranty it because I dont have an extended warranty. This is clearly either cheap parts, or terrible quality assurance on LGs part. Bearings shouldnt go bad this fast. Car wheels have bearings that last up to 200,000 miles. The customer service department there expressed that it wasnt really their problem, and continued to ask me to pay a deposit on service for the unit. Will never buy an LG appliance again.

It was a regular 2 door refrigerator. Had multiple shelved. It was great quality and would not want to use anything else. It has areas for the fruit, for the vegetables and great amount of space for the frozen items. Now it is getting kind of old and its time for a new one. It met my initial expectations by being the style, the color and had the features I wanted so LG has been a great brand for me. The amount of storage has been excellent but now that I have kids more storage room would be great to have.

LG Refrigerator Model #LFX25991ST/06 - After three years of use, my LG refrigerator had a compressor go out. The technician told me that this was common with LG refrigerators in the first 3-5 years. What made matters worse, although the compressor is still under warranty, its replacement will take 5 days (seven with weekends) for delivery. If in fact this has become a common problem, replacement parts should be far more available than 5 days-unbelievable. To make matters worse, my family will be without a refrigerator for 7-10 days (it took two to get a technician to my house) and all items that were in the unit when the refrigerator broke perished. Well be living out of drive thrus until then. I cant comment on the repair because Im now waiting for the compressor (today is day four).

I bought an LG french door fridge with bottom freezer. After just under a year, the ice machine went and I had to have it replaced. This was covered under warranty. However, my fridge is not quite 3 years old yet and the Linear Compressor went. LG told me the part is under warranty, but labor is not. So, I waited a week for the technician to come out and have a look at the fridge. He told me that the part is only about $150 (but covered under warranty), but the labor would cost me about $900 plus to fix and he couldnt even guarantee that it would work after. He told me to just buy a new fridge. So I spent $2300 not even 3 years ago and have to buy a new fridge. LG will not replace it.

Our LG washer was recalled, due to the agitator coming up out of the machine and injuring people. This happened apparently as a result of washing waterproof bedding. LG sent a repairman out, and he did nothing other than put a sticker on the washer that said not to wash waterproof items. This didnt work for us, as my little boy has asthma and needs his mattress covers washed. We proceeded to go shopping, possibly for another LG, but found that ALL LG washers have that warning. We ended up going for a different brand and I am glad we did because about 6 months later, our LG dryer started making this horrible clacking noise. Turned out the drier actually has a cracked drum.We called the LG company, and they said we had to have the receipt (from 4 years ago) or they cant help us. The manager actually hung up on me. We called the place that we got the dryer from, but they dont keep receipt records that long. We also tried our credit card company, and their records only go back to 2011. Stay far, far, away from any LG products. This company makes defective equipment, knows it, and then makes it impossible for you to meet their requirements for them to repair the defects. If you think you may want an LG device, please look at all the bad reviews and horror stories. It takes just a simple Google search.

This washer has many bad issues. I purchased it 1 year ago. Most annoying is the soap dispenser rarely works. Sometimes it doesnt dispense other times it dispenses only a little and lately only when the cycles done and I open the door it dispenses. The drying cycle never ever has dried the dishes. Water puddles on top of glassware and bowls constantly. I always have to dry the dishes. The adjustable racks are most annoying, as they dont stay where you adjust them and I spend too much time bent down adjusting them as they collapse again. The filter that you have to remove and clean all the time is a pain. This overprice dishwasher was the biggest mistake. It has turned me sour on LG appliances as I purchased a LG fridge at the same time, which is a whole other complaint. Stay away from LG!

I am currently battling with this ongoing issue. I have an LG Fridge that is only 3 years old and went out several months ago. LG has sent out very experienced techs that have basically replaced all parts in the fridge. They have said there is nothing left for them to do but LG insist on locating a very slow leak. This fridge has been repaired several times and It would work for a week or a few days then go out again. I have lost hundreds of dollars in food and they refuse to reimburse me for the fridge. They want to locate a very small leak, yet every time I call LG no one can give me clear answers on the next step.I have been without a fridge for months and if it wasn’t for my Home Depot warranty case manager I would have given up. I don’t mind going thru the process but LG is disorganized, unreliable, and inconsiderate to its customers. Based on my experience I have told family, friends and co-workers not to buy a fridge from LG. Even when their product is a lemon they refuse to approve a payout and instead leave their customers without a working fridge and no response. Awful service!

Update 1/27/2022:On 20 Jan 2022, LG contacted me and related that they are looking for a provider to service my Refrigerator. My initial complaint was sent to them on 19 Jan 2022. On 25 Jan 2022 (six days later) I received a call/voicemail from Provider (someone hired by LG to service my refrigerator) asking me to call them back to set-up an appointment to evaluate/service my unit. I researched the phone number, identified the provider and observed that their one page (80% functional) web presence identified that they serviced refrigerators (from their site: Refrigerator Repair: Cleaning the Condenser; Cleaning the drain line; Cleaning the drip pan; Manually defrosting ice build ups; Replacing air damper seals; Adjustment or replacement of door or door gaskets). Absolutely no where did they reference diagnostics; systems evaluations; cooling system trouble-shooting and repair, Nothing. So, using the email address depicted on their site, I emailed them. Asked for them to verify that they did indeed have the necessary training and certifications to service my refrigerator. I also stated that I would need to validate their business (License; certifications; insurance; etc.). On 26 Jan 2022, late in the day, I receive an obscure robo call relating that My parts have been ordered and that once the parts come in that they would contact me and establish a time for a technician to return and repair my refrigerator, and if I had any questions, refer to Providers website (by name). Wow, no one has been at my house, let alone evaluated my refrigerator. Needless to say, I am livid. LG not only produces Sub-standard products; fails at responding effectively to the customer in a timely manner; they completely lack any form of integrity. Imaging the unmitigated gaul it takes, for a Multimillion Dollar Company, to Search for a provider with the technical training/certifications, history of certified good service, that are licensed/bonded and insured meeting their (LGs) High Standards and come up with a company, that has two locatable addresses, both resolving to Apartment complexes, with a single faulty web page for an internet presence, a page of which does not identify any technical repairs (refer above), is not certified/trained to do the technical aspects required to repair a Refrigerator (nor do they profess to this), nor do they have any verifiable insurance covering the conduct of their business, absolutely NO information relating to their business, anywhere. In other words they (LG) simply looked for anyone willing to do the warranty work, did not vet the business or conduct any action to verify that the business they Hired were capable of doing the job let alone legitimate. You have to ask yourself: What type of a business simply hands out their warranty work to ANYONE who responds saying I can do that, Trust Me - wink, wink and hand them the contract?; Imagine allowing people who are complete unknowns with NO certifiable background, into your home to service your $3,000 refrigerator, because LG fully backs them as an LG certified service provider. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Please note that there are Dozens of Certified/insured/very reputable appliance services in Colorado Springs; hundreds in the Denver Area.... Yep LG really did their research. We can pull up certified providers in seconds on the internet, it only took LG six days to find a business that could not perform the job. Original review 1/19/2022:We purchased an LG French Door; Instaview Door-In-Door refrigerator on 1 July 2018 from Best Buy (model: LMXC23796M; GR-X23GHMJM.AMTCNAO). It was delivered on 5 July 2018. We paid just over $3,000.00 for it. To our great misfortune, at some point yesterday/evening it died without any warning/indication there was a problem. The lights work; the gauges appear to function; it just appears to be warming the items within now. Of course the couple hundred $$ worth of food within... I guess that is another reason why we have dumps. Im in my 60s and have never in my life owned; seen or have knowledge of anyones refrigerator failing in such a short period of time, and without the slightest indication it was going to fail. I simply cannot recommend LG to anyone. They simply do not last, which makes them junk.

We purchased this refrigerator on June 6, 2018 from Home Depot. In July 2019, the refrigerator stopped cooling. (How convenient, right after the one year warranty expired.) I called LG and they sent an authorized repair company to my house within two weeks. The company, National Platinum Service, replaced the compressor and filter. On December 24, 2019 the refrigerator stopped cooling again which caused us to throw away all of our food for the second time. We spoke with LG and they scheduled a different repair company, Advanced Appliance, to come out on January 6, 2020 to replace the compressor and filter again. On January 10th, the technician came back out to make an adjustment to the refrigerator and check on the status. All was working at that time. The next day, January 11th, the refrigerator stopped cooling again. On January 13th, the technician came out and said that there was likely a freon leak that would need additional parts to be ordered in order to replace the unit. On January 20th, the same technician came out again to replace the evaporator coils and he stated that he was not confident that this would be a long term fix. He said he spoke with LG support and was told they would not replace the refrigerator until they (LG) spent $1000 on repairs. The technician from Advanced Appliance stated that he felt we had a defective refrigerator and he would need his supervisor to come out and review the work that had been done up to this point. We currently have a refrigerator that is not functional and hasnt been for several weeks now. This is absolutely unacceptable. We have had to take off work 7 times for a technician to come out to TRY to repair the refrigerator in addition to not having the ability to have any food or drinks that need to be refrigerated since December 24th! The 5 or 10 year warranty doesnt matter when your refrigerator dont work and continues to break. Why on earth would I want my refrigerator to be replaced with a new and updated compressor after all of this nonsense especially when the first one should work in the first place if you are selling a high quality appliance? All I want at this point is a full refund and Ill be a happy customer.

Ive had this fridge for over 3 years and it finally stopped cooling and making ice in April. LG has sent out 3 different technicians to repair it but none of them seems to know what is wrong with it. One tech said the issue was with the compressor, they ordered the part, when the tech came to install the new compressor he said there is nothing wrong with the compressor. It is the motherboard that went out. He returned to install the new motherboard and it is still not working. There is an issue with this particular fridge based on all the reviews Ive seen online. First, I like the fridge. Its attractive and when it works, it works great. However, the sealed refrigerant system, isnt. The week after the 1 year warranty ended, it stopped getting cold. Fine. Repair guy comes and refills refrigerant (didnt both checking for leaks or question how a sealed system lost its refrigerant). As expected, a few months later it dies again. He comes back and refills it, AND finds a leak which he repairs and replaces the compressor. Fast forward another year. Fridge dies again, and the saga with LG Customer support begins. I call. Explain the situation. The nice gentleman takes my info, says hes going to request a warranty extension to cover it. Then I wait. And wait. And wait.I call back two weeks later to inquire as to whats going on. Evidently he had misfiled it, so they had to start over. New guy takes the same info, insists Ill have to pay for repairs, but (after I demanded) said hed put in a request, but that I should get a call back 72 hours later. I give it a week and call back. Person I talk to says its still not decided and should get a call back Thursday (that was a Monday). Another week... I call the following Monday. Its now been over a month since I first called. Im told that my request for warranty coverage was denied, and after I asked, he tells me that it was decided last Thursday. At this point, I become unhinged and unload on the poor call center guy (I feel bad about this part) about how disrespectful it is that they cant be bothered to inform me of the status at ANY point along the way, nor follow up like they say theyre going to, and demanded to know what they were going to do about making this right. He gets his supervisor to override the decision and Im getting coverage finally. Great. They send the work order to a repair place in Los Angeles (Im up near Santa Barbara) and tell me that theyll be there the next day between 8-12. Next day, no show. Maybe I misheard him so I wait another day. No show. So I call back to ask whats going on.Evidently, the appointment was declined. So nice of them to let me know before I took time off work to wait for the guy. Fine... When can I get another one? to which they provide me with a phone number for the repair place (Repair place has 1 star on Yelp with 30 reviews btw, so you know Im expecting greatness... #sarcasm).I call repair place for the appointment, and they tell me the code they have from LG to cover the repair is no good, and Ill need to show the original purchase receipt. I understand having to show the receipt, except that LG knows from our history with them that Im the original owner. Ok fine, Ill dig that out, but what about the authorization code? They dont seem to be able to explain who is supposed to get that squared away. On the plus side, the repair guy did show up for the second appointment and determined that the compressor was shot. Now we have to wait AGAIN for LG to decide whether to replace it or the entire unit. For comparisons sake, heres how this SHOULD have gone down: 1. I call them. Tell them the history (which they already have) and explain the current situation. 2. They apologize profusely for the trouble, and the several fridges full of food Ive lost, and promise to get someone out ASAP. 3. Within 2 days, a repair guy shows up, determines its a similar/related problem. 4. LG offers to replace the entire fridge since this one is a lemon.

I purchased brand new appliances in 2016 with them being delivered in spurts due to back orders. The dishwasher Model LDT9965bd was delivered on January 30, 2016 and not installed for a few weeks later. These are top of the line LG projects in black ice. I noticed the finish deterioration on the left side on 2/7/17 so I contacted ABC Warehouse on 2/7/17 and my salesman referred me to their LG customer service. I call the next morning and they refer me to LG directly because they say the warranty was up on January 30, 2017. I did not purchase an extended warranty on this item like I did my fridge and stove. Upon sending my photos she asks me how I clean it. I dont use product on the item and only wipe with a damp dish towel on top where the buttons are. To be honest the dishwasher does not need that much cleaning on the outside (sounds accusatory to me). She proceeds to tell me to call service repair and provided me a local number that I have not called as it will be a cost to me for them to come out. The finish on my black ice dishwater is coming off around the handle on both sides and I have only had it installed since late February 2016. I told her to forget it that I would take this up with my sales rep. At this point I would not recommend LG products if this does not get addressed at no charge. THIS IS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. I will not stop until this is fixed at their expense since I spent $1,000 on this item. I thought I was buying quality.Updated on 11/29/2017: Here we go again with the same issue Im going to complain about again. The black ice finish is coming off near the left handle of the dishwasher as I noticed last night. The skin was replaced last year on 2/11/17 and its now almost 10 months later and its happening again. I will again, make some calls to get someone out to replace this at their expense on this expensive item. By the way, I agree with a lot of the complaints about the LG dishwashers. They do not clean well and I hate everything about the inside. Tines to thin, dishes fall over, not cleaned well etc... I miss my old stuff and it was not even broken. I had purchased all new since I had to replace my fridge. The saga will continue.

Buyer beware. We moved into our new house and discovered the existing french door LG was not cooling. (I see other reviews here mentioning the same cooling issue) It is three years old and no longer cooling. Trying to get this under-warranty refrigerator serviced has been a nightmare. Only registered techs can repair it if you can find someone in your area. It has been two months, three service people and two plus hours on the phone with LG and I have yet to have a service person even begin to work on it. If the next service person who comes (tech number 4 in 3 weeks) tells me that it really isnt this its really that and of course they dont have the part or the order was not written correctly or they just dont show up because they resigned and didnt tell anyone, I will pull my hair out. I advise anyone who is considering this refrigerator to find something else and save yourself the frustration (They should have minus stars on here).

Just like the many others on this site, I purchased a match set of LG laundry appliances from Home Depot just over four years ago. I also purchased a four-year bumper to bumper warranty and thank goodness I did. Shortly after we had them, the dryer drum had to be replaced because it split. Drum number 3 was installed 3/1/11 because of the same issue. Now, it has split and I need yet another drum (#4). But of course, the bumper to bumper warranty is no longer in place so I am going to see if my home warranty will cover it. I called the company that did the last warranty repair and they quoted me $368 to repair again with guarantee that it wont happen in another few months. They said it happens all the time. I noticed someone on this site said the stainless steel drums should have a five-year warranty but not sure that is correct.

I had an LG refrigerator and and I wanted a replacement one that would match my stove and microwave. There are some things I’m not happy with. The temperature control doesnt seem to be as good as it was on the other one. I have a separate temperature gauge and many times, it isn’t as cold as it should be. I even had somebody come out to the house and it hasn’t made a difference. The fridge is fine as far as where the shelves are, but I am not happy.

I have the same experience with my machine. Just after 1 yr, the washer will spin & refill for hours repeating the same cycles. The machine starts at 57 min. wash 9 normal load, cottons) but after an hour is still spinning, draining & refilling. The first time I noticed this, it was spinning for over 3 hrs. until I stopped it. Not only that, the clothes come out about as dirty as they went in. The machine is a huge disappointment.

I own four LG appliances and they all broke down. I had to have my less than six-month old fridge repaired out 14 times. They finally replaced it with a GE product. My four-year old dishwasher was so expensive to repair and I was told to replace. This was an $800 appliance. Oven will not heat and neither will the broiler, a $1,500 oven that cannot be used and it is too expensive to repair due to parts.

We bought the LG Steam set back in May 2009. With a big family, it was such a blessing to get a large capacity elite washer and dryer! We used our tax money for this expensive set with the premise the company pledges: that we would quickly reap the savings of this energy and water efficient washer. Well 4 1/2 years later we have a broken washer with a bearing assembly that needs replaced. The washer kept filling up all on its own and leak, then it wouldnt drain and then getting stuck in the midst of a cycle. We would have to drain the tub and ring our clothes out by hand (we have 7 people in our family). Then it finally quit spinning altogether. It has been a mess to say the least. Total cost to fix it? Repairman said in the $800 range. That is ridiculous for a machine that is less than 5 years old and was so expensive to begin with. And it sounds like this is a manufacturing problem as I read so many others who have this exact same thing happen. Can we say class action law suit? Sign me up.

Bought our LG gas range 2 years ago. Less than 6 months, one knob broke off. I called Best Buy and they said to call LG. LG said I need to purchase knobs. The knobs are expensive. They are made of a plastic and do not have the strength to take the pressure. After swapping knobs, they all eventually cracked. I do not recommend to purchase the oven from LG. Unfortunately, it sounds that they are replacing them to their customers. We were not told that. It is dangerous when you cannot turn off burners. I would like to find metal or a cast metal to replace them. Be careful, this can be dangerous.

I purchased this washer new from Home Depot and in less than three years I noticed rust around the bleach dispenser. I purchased this machine because it was top of the line. Now it is just a rusty washer.

When the machine cycles on it will pump water out of the soap drawer at times. Sometimes when it is started and other times when it goes into rinse mode, flooding the drawer below the washing machine and the floor. It took several calls to a person who did not want to send a service tech. He told us it was because we were using a wrong detergent. That is a perfect example of how little he knows about the product. When we finally got a service tech to come out and look at it, the problem did not show up while he was here and he had no idea what was happening. So although he was a very nice person he was not schooled in the product then he was sent out to troubleshoot. There has to be a troubleshoot guide that is developed from other repairs done in the field. My washing machine is not the only one pumping water on the floor. It Cost 89.00 for the service call. My Daughter paid 40.00 the same day to check her Maytag.

I purchased an LG dishwasher model ldt7797st at JCPenney. Im in my sixties and have dishwashers for many years. This is without a doubt the worst dishwasher I have ever had. It cant clean a coffee ring from inside a coffee cup. Its totally useless. I called a repairman through LG. It was probably one of the most knowledgeable repairman Ive had here. He told me I was doing everything correctly. Checked out the dishwasher and said it was operating perfectly. What a waste.

We have a 1-year old LG refrigerator just stop working. We paid 2.5K, not freezing. We installed new computer, worked for 5 days and stopped working again and now it has a leak. We spent 600.00 already and still not working. We called LG support. They said to called a LG repairman and we did and he was going to be here within 2 weeks. The LG support said they will contact us within 5 days and nothing. So guarantee is gone. Maybe we need a new refrigerator?Updated on 10/13/2015: My refrigerator’s model number LFX25991ST. We finally had to replace it, the service man cannot guarantee it if repaired the estimate for repair is $600.00 on top of $600.00 already spent. There needs to be a class lawsuit against this company for selling bad products. We had to buy another one but this time (American made). Good luck to all of you.

On 9-27-19 I went to Lowes and bought what I thought would be a good washing machine. Less then 4 months later I get a E-6 code, Clutch error... (Mechanical failure). It said to unplug the washer and call service. It took 7 days for serviceman to show up. The first thing he said was Oh, thats a typical problem and we need to order the part. 2 weeks later he shows up with the part and installs it. NOW...2 days later, what do I get? E-6 AGAIN!!! When it starts the spin cycle it starts growling. The machine is nothing but junk! It comes with a 10 year warranty and didnt last 4 months? I went to Lowes again this morning (1-20-20) and talked to the store manager and he said I had to have 3 service calls before LG will do anything about it. He claims he will look into it and will get back to me later today. Now its hell to have a brand new LG machine that 3 out of 4 months you cant use. I read the review from CR and thats the reason I bought it. Looks like the review was wrong! I learned my lesson on buying and LG product!

LG WM3670HWA - Bought a new washer ($650) and installed in May 2017. Recently experienced squeaking noises during the spin cycle. Called LG. They sent out a technician to look at the machine. LG charged me $125 for the service call. The tech said that the rear bearing was defective. The cost to fix was estimated to be $500. However, the technician told me that LG discontinued the parts needed to fix the washer, so he couldnt fix it even if he wanted to. So I spent $650 on a washer and another $125 on a service call, to find out that a 14 month old washer is junk and cannot be repaired.I called LG to try and resolve the issue. They refused to do anything AT ALL. I wasnt asking for a new washer or anything like that. I requested that they at least waive the $125 service call, since the washer couldnt be fixed. They refused to waive the service fee and gave me no concession on anything. It was really great at the end of the call to hear, Have a wonderful day! Seriously!!?? I never write reviews, but had to vent on this one. My bad for not buying an extended warranty, but theyre bad for not even stocking parts to fix their lousy products. I will never buy an LG product again. I feel completely ripped off.
