We got this washing machine just over 4 years ago. The door lock sticks now
We got this washing machine just over 4 years ago. The door lock sticks now and I have to turn it off and back on 30 times before the door will unlock so I can get my clothes out. I don’t have time for that. And yesterday, I went to switch my clothes out and the door was locked of course so I just turned the whole machine off and went back to it today when I had time to mess with it. I still had to tap the frame of the door where the lock is about 3-4 times while turning it off and back on. Then when I finally was able to open it, my clothes were still soaked. So I put it on a spin only cycle. 17 min by default then after it judged the weight and distribution, it went to 10 min.I came back a few min later, the number of min was on 7 and it was full of water, rinsing. The spin light was flashing, indicating it was spinning and it was on a spin only cycle. We’re going to have to replace it as soon as we can afford to because they only guarantee their products for a year. I was told by the manufacturer that they’d have to charge me to have a maintenance guy from LG come to my house, evaluate the problem and fix it. Had I known they believed in their products this little, I’d have gone with a different brand. We will not be purchasing LG again.

Bought the one Kelly Ripa advertised - should have known better - absolute pile of crap. The most expensive in the store at the time. Two years old and I am on the second control board. But that repair failed and after 9 weeks without a fridge I am now FURIOUS! I get back from a weekend away and find that now the freezer has failed and my floor is flooded and all my food ruined. The repair guy is on his way. But last time it took two months for the board to arrive. If it is anything else that needs replacing then that is another two months... absolutely PATHETIC PRODUCT AND PATHETIC BACK UP. As you can tell... I am extremely unhappy and frustrated about this disaster of a product. Yes, and it looks terrible also. The stainless steel is all marked with drips that will never come off.

After reading many customer reviews I have to chime in. We bought an LG refrigerator 10 months ago. The compressor went out had to wait two weeks for the technician to come out to tell me the compressor was out. I told them when I called, when the technician comes out have him bring a new compressor. No they have to diagnose the problem first. All you have to do is read every review out there and you will know the compressor is the problem. Which brings me to today, yesterday the technician from A&E came out to put in the compressor that was sent to my house. We went to my grandsons birthday party only to come home and find my refrigerator warmer on the inside than I was on the outside. Living without a refrigerator is a nightmare, and then not knowing if it will work after the repair is even worse. So here we sit with a large paper weight in our kitchen!!! They continued to send out defective compressors. I am now waiting another week for the repair technician to come back out to diagnose a defective compressor.Too many people are suffering because of their incompetence. We cannot let the consumers in the United States continue to be treated this way by LG. Thanks to all the people who have written their complaints online.

I recently purchased all new LG appliances in the new black stainless. Love the door in door fridge, enjoy the stove/oven and microwave, but the dishwasher is impossible. The rack design for glasses will not hold any size glass. Glasses continually fall and turn over during cleaning. Often the very top new utensil basket gets caught on the glasses and the racks will not close without being pushed aggressively. The bottom rack has collapsible sections that fall down without force and plates become scattered and stuck together during the clean cycle. The overall cleaning, look and quietness of the dishwasher is good. BUT you will become easily frustrated with the basket configuration. Wish I could return this impossible appliance!!!

We purchased an LG top-load washing machine in early Dec. We waited until Valentines Day for it to be delivered! A new machine was needed after 15 years of washing 4 athletic boys & a construction working husbands clothes! Our trusty Maytag front-load machines were going out. I wanted to buy new Maytag machines but I got talked into LG by the salesperson & fellow customers. I will just state now how truly sorry I am for being swayed into that decision because it was 1 of the worst choices Ive made. I cannot stand this machine! Im not exaggerating when I say my clothes come out of the machine dirtier than when I put them in! The clothes dont even get covered in water! I know theyre environmentally friendly, but even when you use the water plus option there should not enough water to get all the clothes wet! I have to physically get my arms in the machine & agitate the clothes.I called the store we purchased them from and of course since they are used they wont return them. I call LG, whose customer service is in a foreign country and the guy proceeds to tell me in a heavy accent that I dont know how to use the washing machine. Its user error. He didnt believe me that the clothes werent washing and continued to argue with me that I didnt read the manual. I asked what we could do to solve this problem & he told me theres nothing they can do. LG... Lifes good... NOT if you own an LG appliance! If you do buy an LG machine make sure you also buy a washboard! Youre going to need it if you want any of your laundry to be clean!

I just purchased a LG dishwasher LDP6797BB from Home Depot on 10/9/17, it was delivered on 10/17. We installed it ourselves (no issues there). Once we had the dishwasher all installed and confirmed no leaks, I went to run the dishwasher through a full cycle (as recommended). I powered on the machine only to get this code L2, I pulled the book out to find out this code means, luckily (according to the book) this is not an error it is a Rinse Agent code... However, the book does not tell you how to clear this code. So I called LG customer service, I was told I had to reset the machine at the circuit breaker. OK so I do that, machine is reset, machine works (thank God). When the cycle completes, I load the dishwasher with dishes and power on the machine... L2 AGAIN, reset AGAIN, did not work, reset breaker again. I have done this 1 MILLION TIMES in a week (and yes there is rinse agent in the machine). I have called LG, they are no help. They have no techs on staff that you can speak to, I know this is an easy fix, but they insist on sending a tech to my home. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY LG AGAIN... Fingers crossed that they can fix this once and for all.

I bought a LG dishwasher in 2017 from Home Depot. Registered it and it worked fine for almost a year. Then it started stopping before the drying cycle and constant beeping and didnt drain. Over the coarse of 9 months, 2 different repair companies, many hours on the phone, weve had the control panel replaced 2 times, the mother board replaced 1 time, the door lock/latch 3 times. Each repair lasts about 2-3 weeks. I have taken videos of the problem when they didnt believe me. The machine shows no error code and the smart app on my phone when linked says the machine is working fine. I have asked for a replacement washer because this is a lemon. I have documented all my emails to LG and to the service techs. When I read all the negative reviews on this same product, and under the review LG replies to contact them by calling them, or contacting on Facebook or Twitter because they want to make it right, I have to laugh. I have done all that including contacting them on Facebook. When the repair man visits your home and reports your problem to LG tech support, then sends the report to LG, tells you to wait for LGs response. No response in over a week so I call customer support. You cant call tech support only the repair guys have access to them. Customer service doesnt have access to Tech support. They leave them a note to call you. So you go round and round. As I am writing this I am waiting again for the repair man to arrive to fix my LG dishwasher that now will not start at all on any setting. It flashes, then beeps then stops.

Bought LG French door fridge for $3275.00. Compressor went out in less than three years. Floor damaged and food lost, as we were not home that weekend. Called LG, they said try to find someone to work on it. Had two different repairman out, neither would work on it since its due to the compressor. Something about closed systems. Sears repair said they dont work with warranties and Best Buy said they didnt have a qualified person to work on it. Went through the Holidays with without that fridge. Been on the phone many times with LG, only to be told theyll call me back, but have not. Its been over a month now. I dont know what to do, its still under warranty. I saved for a long time for that thing.

We bought an LG front loading high efficiency washer a few years ago and it has been nothing but trouble. The maintenance required for routine use is more than one would expect for an appliance such as a washing machine. The machine routinely soils and streaks clothes and has ruined countless garments despite the suggested tub cleaning, wiping down, and costly extra tub cleaner. Additionally, the washer often leaks soapy water into the floor despite the use of HE detergent, meticulous measuring of detergent so as not to overfill. Now I must wash only small loads to keep leakage to a minimum--one of the big selling points was the ability to efficiently do large loads. Over recent days, I have had consistent leaking. I suspect we may have water damage below the floor, but no visible staining of the lower ceiling as of yet. I am constantly washing towels that I have to use to clean up the mess from routine use of the appliance. This product is a lemon. There should be some sort of buy back or trade in for some other, more useful washing machine.

We purchased all brand new top of the line LG products 3 years ago. A few months ago the ice machine stopped working and I contacted LG support and they went thru all the steps and unable to fix but I lived with it as it was only an inconvenience. Based on the research I have done, LG was quite aware that within months of the ice maker going the fridge compressor would fail. They never mentioned this once. After losing hundreds of dollars of food, I reached out to LG which advised to have a repairman come. For $125 he came and as soon as he saw the make and model he advised LG has a known issue which they refuse to correct and have a class action lawsuit against them. He offered to repair but the part is @ $800 and to top it off they would put the same faulty part back in which will also inevitably fail. I found out after I did purchase a 10 year part warranty and LG set up a repair appointment with their contractor for a week later. The day before the appointment I received a reminder and a request to call the company, A & E, if parts were not already delivered. I was told the parts were not being delivered until the day after the repair appointment? Both LG and their contractor A&E customer service were unhelpful and kept blaming each other for the issue. I was promised numerous phone calls with no timely response or resolution. I took off of work to wait for a repairman who cant repair anything and are being told the next available appointment is in another 2 weeks? I have 3 children at home and no way to keep any food for them. I did not complain when the icemaker failed nor request compensation for the lost food because the appointment for repairs was scheduled. Now because of the lack of support and the incompetency of LG, I will be pursuing all the expenses including the several meals which needed to be purchased from restaurants. All LG needed to do was accept the fact they manufactured a poor product and resolve the issue and I would still be a supporter for the company. The deceit and unwillingness to fix their mistake is unacceptable. I am still waiting without a refrigerator and hoping the other LG products in my home, double oven, dishwasher, washer and dryer do not break.

I purchased an LG model WM2701HV washing machine (and accompanying dryer) in 2011. In just over a year, the plastic was crumbling into chunks around the detergent dispenser and the writing around the cycle dial was rubbing off. I now have to look at the owner’s manual to make sure I am using the correct cycle because the panel is unreadable. Then, after about a year and a half, I had to replace the drain pump. And of course, I have the smell and mold issue no matter what I use / how often I clean it. So, I have a very expensive, top-of-the-line appliance that I hate. My old $500 top load machine was still going strong after almost 20 years - wish I still had it! No more LG products for me...

I paid over 1,500.00 for a LG refrigerator LFC23760ST just three years ago. Its the last time I will ever buy LG products again. They carry just a 1 year warranty and will charge me an arm and a leg to replace any parts that I need. The circuit board went out and I was told that its $400 dollars just for the parts to fix it. Why do I need have to spend $500 plus dollars on parts on an appliance that is only 3 years old?I have a Whirlpool refrigerator in my garage that sits out in the heat and has been out there for 15 plus years and I bought it used... And it still works. If they are so confident in their products, make them last for more than 3 years. Im upset that this happened but if they carried a warranty that replaced and/or fixed my problems, it would not be as bad. But when I call and to get my refrigerator fixed, its a like buying a new one all over again. Like I said, this will be my last LG product I will ever buy.

The stove sensors were broken from time received and never fully repaired. The oven overheats and the temperature is not accurate. The dishwasher’s motherboard fried after 1 year, and they refused any compensation.

The knobs were cracked and broken and we were unable to turn the gas all the way off. The repairman said he smelled gas when he entered my house. He ordered three new knobs. I then called LG at 800-243-0000 and told them that I had just read all the complaints about the range knobs, and how upset I am to learn that LG was doing nothing about the problem. I was then told that LG has a new replacement knob that they will send me free of charge. Five new knobs. No charge. I then asked why they were not notifying their consumers. No answer. I am so far pleased w/ my new refrigerator, but getting the right help for a replacement part has been extensive and frustrating. Fridge under warranty. Needed to order new tempered glass shelf for my model fridge. First time - Sent the wrong part. Glass is correct width but 2.5 too long. Called again. Second Time - Sent entirely wrong part. Third time - Looked online at blown out version of parts while on phone with Customer Service. They sent the wrong part again, but same part as first attempt. Each time the Model number was verified having taken a picture of sticker on inside of fridge. Clearly the part # is mislabeled. Now they are asking me to wait 3-5 more days to get a call to schedule an in-home visit. Offered to send picture of parts and how tempered glass shelf is too long. No, once the order was put in process by supervisor for technician there is nothing else to do but wait.ON ANOTHER NOTE: Im from Maine. Fridge purchased in Maine. Maine has Consumer Goods And Maine Express And Implied Warranty Laws. I do not know about other states, but is worth a look. In Maine regardless of what warranty the retailer or manufacturer gives, Maine law gives consumers a 4-year warranty and the Retailer is who is responsible and who you deal with, not the manufacturer. So when offered the 3-yr warranty, I say, No thanks, because Im covered by Maine Law for the 4 years.

Buyer beware of this refrigerator! I have an LG fridge (through sears –kenmore elite). I have spoken to Sears and LG. Both are saying that my less than two year old fridge not working is the others problem. I have now paid to have both a Sears technician and an LG technician look at it. The first tech said the issue was the refrigerant cooling system and the compressor was gone. This was the local LG authorized appliance repair person. The second was the Sears authorized repair tech who said it was the electrical board, but it could also be the compressor but they werent sure. Both say NOT their problem!! It is going to cost 1150.00 to fix my fridge after Xmas! I have now had no fridge for over two weeks. Life is definitely Not Good!!!I spoke to Sears, they also told me, not their problem. So what what do I do now? I know, pay $1150.00 for my fridge. If my fridge, was older, I would get it! But it is less than two years old!! You know that is not right!! This fridge is a lemon, avoid at all costs. Please avoid this model and beware that neither LG or Sears cares even a little bit about assisting you if your appliance is not under warranty!!!

I requested a repair service on May 7 through LG.com. I purchased my washer and dryer combo in July 12, 2016. The rubber belt was dislocated and it seemed to be leak soon. The first email was came on May 9, and the one technician who supposed to call me to set up time did not call me. Thus I called on May 12 again. On May 13 I received an email from LG.com saying the contact information for service center and reference number. I called the service center on that day and the guy said he did not get any work order from LG.com. On May 15, I wanted to speak with supervisor because all representatives copied the same script and no technician contacted me. The representative hung my call up. Finally on May 15, I got a service center number and contact them. On May 17, the tech guy came and check this machine. The rubber and wire ring are out and he needs to place order for new. The brand new washer dryer has issue at the rubber which is the main factor to keep water in! It is unexpectable and very dissatisfied experience with LG.com. The supervisor of customer service said only sorry for being delayed and she would not sent the part with overnight. Even though LG.com caused this unrealistic delay, they did not want show how they are sorry for this. I cannot trust their merchandise as well as their worst customer care. I do not why LG.com has the customer service department.

If I could give warning signs or negative stars I would! Bought my first machine about a year ago. I havent had a working washing machine since. The machine didnt work from day one. My husband called the company and got the run around for 3 weeks. I contacted Home depot and they got an LG authorized repairman to look at it. Needed a water pump (so they say). Mind you it has only been used twice. They also warned me of the special low-sudsing soap needed (another excuse). Home depot replaced it. However, the second one was just as bad as the first and had the exact same problems. As far as the soap, I ran it with no soap and had the same issues. My last two machines lasted about 10 years each with one service visit between them and they used any kind of soap! They werent top of the line expensive machines either. Im ready to eat the purchase and chuck this piece of junk. The company should give free service to everyone who bought their junk products for 3 years or be sued for selling substandard lemons. No way were they unaware that their product was junk. Two machines in a month and neither work. I will never, never buy an LG product ever again.

The LG refrigerator was on a sale brand new and nothing was wrong with it. It was the first fridge I bought using my own credit card in my name. It has no issues what so ever mechanically. Stainless steel and I loved the organization options it has with it being huge. It had freezer drawers and fridge was sorted in a way even buying $1000 worth of food anyone could find anything without looking very hard. Best one bought yet. Love it! But it got dirty really fast, you can see the dirt without even looking very hard. The only thing is I can use water or simple cleaners to clean it. My parents and grandparents were looking for a fridge too and I recommended this fridge to both. 1 and 2 bought it and have said they love it. No issues at all and it matches with other appliances they have in their kitchen.

Our previous refrigerator was plugged in the same area for 13 years and never had a problem. We moved the old refrigerator to the garage, and it is still working under heat and humidity in a Florida garage. Our Air condition company certified that all our lines are clean with no contamination. All the appliances in our house are working properly, including our LG Washer and Dryer.Today I called a specialized company in the Chinese drywall detection and they never heard of a refrigerator failing due to Chinese drywalls. This is not possible. Also, they mentioned that a Technician cant diagnose a contamination without testing the particles. I work in a power plant company in Florida and all the Engineers stated that the compressor is in a sealed environment with no co-relation to the outside elements. I have called the LG Customer Service multiple times requesting a written service call invoice as the Technician did not leave a written diagnose. LG refused to produce the document and the customer service rep hanged up on me.The second customer service told me to call a third-party repair company a pay out of my pocket. Today another rep offered 20% rebate on a new purchase. Again, the refrigerator is three years old and under warranty for five years under a Class Action Settlement for this Unit. There is no proof and no explanation on writing of the cause of failure. Yesterday we called again, and the customer service rep said that our refrigerator is irreparable. She transferred us to a Supervisor by the name Arthur, we request a diagnose on writing and he said not to be allowed to send emails and he will send a request a copy of the service call. Please help us to receive repair for our fridge under warranty. Thank you.

LG wt5480cw top load washer - We bought what we thought large cap. top load not cheap washer. We have had it for a year and cannot wash hardly any load-large bedding or just towels without it having a balance problem and it stopping and refilling and trying again. The loads can take several hours if you do not stand there and keep trying to re-shift clothes. We have an extended warranty which we are sorry to have as we are close to accepting our loss and getting a standard machine as our old Kenmore never had this problem for 15 yrs. What can we do?

I picked up 2 LG stainless steel above range microwaves that were both used
I picked up 2 LG stainless steel above range microwaves that were both used, very attractive looking models, 1 was purchased 1 week before the other from different places and they both have the exact same cracked door. The door cracks on the side by the handle just below the arm that locks in place exits the frame. This has to be happening to every single one made since I got 2 in 2 weeks. For all of those who picked out all brand new LG products for their choice of appliances I have to ask if they would have chosen them if the name was Gold Star? Remember that terrible low quality manufacturer from the 1990s that made complete junk? Well its the same company that changed their name around 2000 to LG! How about that! Did you know this? Of course you didnt or you never would have considered LG for anything especially to be your brand for all your major appliances. Sometimes you need to research companies before you buy them. New names like Samsung, LG, Daewoo, Funia, Symphony, Orion, Oritron, iHome, Emerson, Visio, Trutech, Durabrand, Insignia, etc... All have some background, while some of these brands may make 1 or 2 good items, Funia is 1 of the largest manufacturers of all products made in China (kinda like a Mitsubishi or Sony in their own right) that actually makes products for dozens of companies including Sony and a long list of their own sub-companies plus for their own brand name as well. You would be surprised to know just how many other brands they provide parts for. Yet most would pick a Samsung over Funai any day of the week, just to pay more for something thats probably not even better or maybe even inferior to a Funai brand item.Funai has been around forever like Matsushita, Nakamichi, Sony, Yamaha, Mitsubishi, Matsubara, Akia, Awai, Nippon, JVC, and other Asian companies who have all made good stuff at one time but their parent companies have changed as the names are sold to larger conglomerates who names are never shown on their products. Most recently Samsung bought out the Harmon Group which has been making top notch audio gear for generations. Infinity, JBL, Harmon Kardon, Crown and others will no longer be what they once were, this happened 2 years ago and if you havent noticed yet these companies are not winning any high praise from the groups that once held them as top in their field. This is why its important to know who really makes the stuff you buy. Samsung is a maker of junk, plain and simple. They bought Harmon to try and get their foot in the door on car audio electronics and have really no other interest in continuing making high end audio, they will try to phase them out and apply their own brand name audio which will follow along their same disposable electronics junk they have shown to make in the past. You will see nothing impressive coming from them, all flash and bells and whistles. More plastic molded stuff like theyre used to making and they will market it for those who will fall for it. Looks definitely arent everything when it come to electronics, but many will learn the hard way. As most who bought LG did!

Me and my husband recently bought a LG fridge. Remind you not cheap $1,000. Bought this frig on Aug 15. Received on Aug 30th 2016 and it is here Sept 9th. My fridge took a crap on Sept 5. Calling the company. Oh rest it by unplugging it or reset coldness inside. Did this 3 days in a row. My food in the fridge is no good. I have kids and a baby here. Called for service. 2-5 business days for a repair company in my town to make a date to come fix it. BS. I want my damn money back plus money for my electric bill to bring in a mini fridge to keep my now rebought food. Im so damn not happy. In my opinion I think its time for a Attorney. I will NOT lose out of $1,000 for a crappy fridge I can not use.

I purchased an LG Refrigerator from Lowes 2 years ago, and had several minor issues. However, now the compressor is out!!! After 2 years??? This is ridiculous! I kept my old Kenmore fridge and its 10 years old but continues to work without problems. Now, I have to move food from my new fridge to the garage into the old fridge that works all the time! I will never purchase a LG product again. Customer service rep, not very good at helping with getting this resolved either. Basically, you are out of luck and on your own.

We purchased our LG Refrigerator for several thousand dollars six years ago. It had a five year warranty. After five years, the area below the ice maker and water dispenser became rusted. When we called the company, they told us that was for decorative purposes. After the five year warranty expired, the piece between the french doors is broken, so it does not close properly. Now today, we woke up to realize that the freezer and fridge have randomly stopped working for no reason. We needed to throw out hundreds of dollars worth of food in our freezer yesterday and will be shopping for a new fridge. I would not advise ANYONE to purchase anything from LG.

When I put foil on the bottom rack to prevent drips from falling to the oven surface I think it interferes with the bottom of pizza or bread getting browned. Updated on 03/11/2019: This is a follow up to my January 2019 post. I lowered my rating to one star since the dryer (DLEX5680) was repaired only to break again within 6 weeks. The dryer was serviced and our house dryer vent was cleaned as recommended before using the dryer. It worked wonderfully for 6 weeks and now have the same symptoms. There should be a recall on this dryer. Very frustrating.Original Review: I purchased the dryer in mid-2014. Worked well first 4 years... Broke with a common issue. The dryer stopped working without warning. It thinks its drying but the machine is not running or drum rotating. Evidently this is a common problem since the repair company knew the problem and the part to order without a visit. Its been 3 weeks so far dealing with the warranty company and now we have to wait for the part. I will follow up this review with the wait and repair time.

I purchased this LG French Door 28 cu ft Refrigerator Model # LMX28988SW on 3/10/2011 and was delivered and setup from Best Buy on 3/28/2011. Was told this is the best fridge on the market... It cost almost $2600, but I wanted something that would last. Boy, that sure didnt happen... Not quite 7 years later my freezer and icemaker both stopped working. The ice maker needed replacement just a few months after purchase and now it failed again. Im sure its somehow related to the freezer no longer freezing things. I have an International Harvester refrigerator in my barn that was purchased by my parents in 1950 and it still works fine. How discouraging that this LG fridge has already puked out.

Called back around 3 to ask if they were still coming and was told they would see where they were at and call us back. Still waiting on that repair. Hope nothing else breaks down. The worst experience ever not including the fact that we purchased all on Black Friday and they were not in stick or delivered until mid-Feb. LG, you just lost a couple of very loyal customers.

I bought an LG washer, model number WM2240CW, on 3/20/2011. I thought it was working okay until I noticed that everything I washed would stink. So I watched it wash one day and I saw it wasnt putting enough water in. So I added more water with a hose and it washed fine. So I called LG and told them the problem. They told me I was overloading the washer. I told them that five tee-shirts and five pairs of underwear with 10 socks wasnt overloading. I told them no matter what I wash, it didnt put enough water in. They told me this was normal. I said, No, it wasnt. I could see dry spots on my clothes while it was washing. They would not do anything about it. So now I have to add water with a hose every time I do a wash load! Dont buy an LG washer. They are no good and their service sucks!

Three of the four LG appliances that we purchased at almost $6,000.00 for the set, have failed in some way since the delivery in July, 2016. The stove has caused two fires. The Microwave computer display has gone crazy and displays all manner of odd characters blinking or scrolling across the display. It doesnt microwave for the time set so we dont dare trust it to do 20 seconds when it could easily do 6 minutes or more. *See Photos. The Refrigerator began failing a little over a month after we installed it. This is a known issue to LG, as I see many buyers of the LG in-door ice maker refrigerators complaining of the same problem. Leaking water and ice build up in the door jam, forming ice in the door jam and inside the refrigerator, making it impossible to open the left produce drawer as the ice blocks it, or to close the front doors completely as ice builds up. *See Photos. The Dishwasher never worked correctly. The detergent compartment wont open. Not with liquid detergent, not with powder detergent, not EMPTY. The heating element doesnt work as the dishes come out sopping wet, even when I choose Extra Dry as a cycle. The Stove is an EXTREME fire danger. The knobs turn so easily and light the flame automatically on high that me reaching over the stove to grab something has turned a burner on more than once. When we were installing the microwave this happened and our shirt, the cardboard and plastic we had protecting the stove from dust, all caught FIRE. Also our cat walking across the knob, turned it on, burning our cats fur. I can not imagine what would happen with children in the home. We should have to push in the knob and turn it in order to light the flame as a safety precaution. Any slight bump or brush on the knobs turns the burners on high. We have to put tape on the knobs to keep them from being turned on accidentally. I see this is a known issue from the volumes of similar complaints from consumers who have bought the LG gas stove. In my opinion, this should be a Class-Action Lawsuit. I sincerely hope it doesnt require the loss of life or 3rd degree burns in order for LG to recall these stoves and do the right thing. So here we spent nearly $6,000.00 on new appliances even though we are on a fixed Military Disability income. Now we have $6,000.00 worth of paperweights by LG. The Model numbers of our appliances are as follows: LG Dishwasher LDT9965BD, LG Microwave LMHM2237BD, LG Gas Stove LDG4315BD, LG Refrigerator LMXC23746D.Uninstalling these appliances and replacing them with Non-LG, quality appliances that will work and not fail, are a significant difficulty for us with my husband disabled and only me to complete the work. It will require me having to hire and pay someone to uninstall the appliances, move them out to the garage and then install the new appliances. We will never buy LG anything, again. I am waiting for a response from LG. Calls to LG are useless with either overseas Operators saying I am sorry Maam for the inconvenience over and over. Or worse, saying that my issues are all Cosmetic and therefore not covered under manufacturer warranty. Calls to the United States Offices of LG also put me on hold forever and then I get hung up on. I did email LG again today. Costco has been much more responsive and I have been working with them over the last 4 months to get a resolution. I have asked Costco to stop selling LG Appliances in their warehouse and online.

They want us to pay for labor of fixing the washer, even though on the one-page warranty, it says nothing about having to have a technician install the warranty part. I have been a follower of Consumers Reports for many years. When my 11 yr. old Electrolux started making noises I figured it was time to look for a new refrigerator. I was very happy with the French Dr. Electrolux so I chose to look for similar replacement. I went to Consumer Reports and found that it rated the LG LFXS28S96S/04 as the best French Door available. On 11-2-2021 I purchased one from Costco. I was very happy with most of the features, until it started making ice. Within a few days the door ice maker would not drop any ice. Upon checking I found that the ice in the small door ice maker were clumped together. Reading the instructions I had to break the clumps so the ice would come down the chute. In thirty years I had never encountered such a problem. I have a fifteen year old Maytag still working and prior to that a Sears which never gave me any problems with the ice maker. I cannot understand how Consumer Reports would have given the LG such high reviews that testing an actual use of the unit would have shown the problems with the door ice maker. I saw later that other consumers of the LG refrigerators have experience the same problems I did.

Avoid if possible. Bought a washer and dryer pair. It arrived fine and the washer seemed to have mounted great. When it came time for the dryer after the installation, the dryer started giving errors about the ducks being blocked. First checked the actual installed duck work, that didnt help; then removed the dryer from atop the washer and removed the exhaust altogether, this also did not remove the issue. Started contacting the LG support, after some back and forth; reset the machine a couple of times and this also caused no breakthrough. They scheduled a technician to come in 3 days from then. The day the service was supposed to be done, I took a day off work and had a 2 hr time slot. The time slot came and when with no technician. Ive contacted the support again about why he did not show up. They provided me with no concrete reason as to why, and no explanation why they didnt even contact me about it. More back and forth on how to solve this issue and as it turns out they cannot even rebook me for another time slot; since there are no open slots. So now, Im two weeks into not be able to use a dryer with no time that a technician can come in to fix it, and support who dont really care if this gets solved. All of this on a $2500 purchase of a brand new set. To summarize avoid buying LG.

I purchased an LG refrigerator 7 yrs ago for $3,000 and the compressor just went out over a week ago. I was unaware of the class action lawsuit over the compressors until I started researching for reviews. According to the manufacturer, the compressor replacement is under the 10 year warranty so they will cover the replacement. However, it will cost about $1,000 for the labor and additional parts besides the compressor to be replaced. And... heres the kicker, even after its replaced the manufacturers warranty date does not reset, it continues from the date of purchase. Thus only giving me 3 more years of coverage. Not good... If the compressors are only lasting 5-7 yrs or even less, I can foresee dumping another $1,500 into the refrigerator since the manufacturers warranty would have since expired. Not good at all LG. On another note, I had to have the cooling eliminate in the freezer replaced last year and it was only 6 yrs old. We dont do anything extreme to the refrigerator, it just sits there and keeps the food cool and frozen. It doesnt make sense to pay for a high end product for it to not stand up to higher expectations. Not good LG, not good at all.

Right after 1 year warranty, my washer which is upstairs flooded my downstairs. Often people think it is a bad hose. Brand new house and everything. The rear tub assembly was at fault. Just a faulty machine, lucky us. They had me running circles to try to pay a claim. Finally I just paid out of pocket to fix downstairs ceiling, electrical etc. The washer continued to be a problem, rusting on the side near the top and we would see some water running down the side. Repairman said he sees this all the time. Water will spray out the seam near the top. NEXT, Dryer runs when door is shut continuously. I purchased an LG refrigerator from Best Buy and it is three years old. I live in Santa Fe New Mexico and it turns out there are no authorized service people here. I called LG directly and they referred me to people who said they would not even look at an LG refrigerator and wished me luck. After 7 phone calls they advised me to find a service person who would work on it and they would authorize them. I found someone and when they called to get the information LG would not give it to them. I called to get the information how to safely remove the ice and water dispenser to check the control board and they refused to give it to me. I then requested to speak to a supervisor and was told one would call me back the next day. A week has gone by and no call. I would say their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced and that is supported by talking to a half dozen repair people in Northern NM who refuse to work on any LG products because they are complicated and there is no support from LG. This is an expensive lesson. A $3000 refrigerator is on the way to the dump after 3 years.

Doing a load of wash was an excruciating experience with our new top loadin
Doing a load of wash was an excruciating experience with our new top loading LG washer. Kept stopping, flashing uE or UE signals, requiring a load redistribution which many times did not work requiring more load redistribution! It took hours to do a load of wash, could not leave the house, not knowing how long it would take to complete the cycle. Every so often a load would run right through raising expectations that this washer was finally doing what it was supposed to be doing only to realize that dysfunction was the norm. We were told we were not distributing the load evenly?! Does it now take a rocket scientist to load a washing machine, obviously with this one it does. We were told maybe we didnt have enough clothes in, just add more! Like clean ones? I thought this was eco friendly? We finally had a repairman (kid) in. He was very nice, and ordered a new computer board saying sometimes the washer didnt learn right. OK, so I now have a learning disabled washer, but hey it was getting remedial learning! Good... right. In the meantime I was advised to use the low spin option. About 2 weeks later the new computer board is installed, but was still advised to use the low spin option, really, whats that about, wasnt it just fixed? But anyway, delighted that I now had an A+ washing machine, OK maybe a B+, I loaded it up, still using the low spin option as advised, even after the brain implant, and guess what? The load went right through! Success, shes a genius! Alas, the success must have shorted out the new brain. Its now back to playing the same old games, and me, never knowing when a load will go through as it should. And guess what?? the low spin option is no longer an option! Skips right over that. Maybe she did learn something.

We bought model LFX31925SB/00 in 2012. Within a few weeks it started making loud sounds and by the second month, it died the first time. LG sent a repair guy and he reset it and it was fine. After about four week, it died again. This time he came back and had to replace the motherboard. I had made a couple weeks worth of meals, because I was having a baby. We came home from the hospital and the refrigerator was dead and the kitchen was FLOODED!! We lost all of our food AND had a damaged floor. I had to deal with the LG customer service, which was a waste of time. They did absolutely nothing. Then I had to call hhgregg and deal with their customer service. Im not sure which one is worse. We ended up getting a repair man ourselves, who had to replace the motherboard three times. What we thought was a good investment has ended up costing us probably five times more than what we spent buying it, counting what we lost when it died. We wouldve been better off buying the most expensive, top of the line refrigerators out there. At least then we would have something that would be worth the money we spent.

Nothing worked. We had a repairman come and he had to replace the control board and fan, at a cost to us of about $600. Now here we are in October, 2019 and it’s doing the exact same thing. We are looking at having to replace both exact same things, only this time it will cost $690. We could have bought a new refrigerator for what we’ve spent on repairs in the past four years. I will never buy another LG product. Maybe the company will see this and offer some compensation, but I doubt it. It’s infuriating!

My brother bought my mother a state-of-the-art LG washer. It is supposed to wash and dry all in one. At first, it worked good. However the drying failed and LG sent out a repair man. They told my mother that it was her fault that the machine was not working (pilot error) wrong! I tested it myself. I spent hours one night doing every combination the book asked and followed the repairmans advice as asked. It did not dry properly. I cleaned the traps and drain the water from the drain hole. My mother has had clothes all over the bathroom to dry her things. She has had LG get repair for the same problem over and over. This time it burst some sort of air line and made a screaming vent of air. I happen to have been visiting her when it happened. The repair man could find nothing wrong other than it not drying. Mom talks my ear off over the matter and all she wants is to wash and dry. She is running back and forth to the laundromat. She is 72 and should not have to have this type of problem. I know she will not run it now. The machine had scared her on the air whatever. The machine is still under warranty but all they do is try to rip her off. One service sent by LG wanted $65 to even touch something not covered. She asked if he could fix the garbage disposal and he did, and charged her $95. I was smoking hot when I heard. One he was there to fix the LG, but took her for 95 dollars for a clogged disposal. I am 300 miles away and all that keeps happening is I talk to the damn repairman via phone. Anybody have any idea on what I can do? The machine was over $1200 and it only washes a few things at a time. My brother was trying to make things easier for her getting the machine as a gift, but it has made her life hell. She would have been better with her old upright washer. And of course the machine worked the two days he visited. He was impressed with the bells, whistles and lights. How can a company like LG get away with this?

Purchases an LG Refrigerator in June 2020. Refrigerator started making loud knocking noise. Reached out to Customer Service and they said they can come out on January 4th. Next day I wake up to an error code on the refrigerator and run a diagnosis through their app and tells me the fan motor needs attention, so I call back to see if I can get an earlier appointment. I am told they can cancel the first appointment and get me another appointment set up. So they do and now they are telling me they cant come out until January 5th. Service representative supervisor has zero cares and wouldnt even give me his name and cant understand him at all during the call. I asked to speak to another supervisor that I can understand and refused to transfer me. Then proceeded to ask to speak to his supervisor and he says he can have one call me back but cant promise if I will get a call back. Horrible customer service on their part and I am now hoping my fridge does not go out before they come out.

Will never invest in an LG product of any kind! Bought one of LG’s high-end dishwashers (model LDP6797BD) less than 2 years ago for its quiet running, nice bells and whistles (including WiFi access), and 5 year warranty for electronics. A few days ago the LED display started going on/off, dancing through all the readouts, beeping, and displaying what appeared to be an error code (“L2”) but wasn’t. We called for warranty repairs with a local authorized technician. He calls LG and they tell him its hardware (user interface board), not software (which clearly it was). Minimum repair cost, $285 (included the $85 service call).I call LG to explain why it’s the software and should be under warranty. LG’s Customer Service agrees it could be electronics and will dispatch their factory technician for $125 plus and a minimum labor charge of $65 (but up to $175) if its covered under warranty. Unlike the local technician’s $85 service fee, LG’s service fee of $125 is not applied towards repairs. I explained that I could buy a new dishwasher (NOT an LG) for what I would spend in repairs and my previous $300 dishwasher lasted 10 years…what’s wrong with their product(s)?

Our washing machine did not work from the moment of moving into our new hom
Our washing machine did not work from the moment of moving into our new home. It was still under warranty. It is a LG washing machine. Model: WT1801HVA. I called LG in August of 2020 to have it repaired. Because we had no idea what was wrong with it and if it was covered under warranty, we decided to go with the flat rate program through LG. That means for one flat rate, no matter what is wrong with it, you won’t be charged anymore than that fee to fix it. This fee can be reimbursed if the machine cannot be fixed. I was charged $219.45 on Sept 2, 2020. We were given 3 companies to chose from to come out and fix it. The first company we called said they don’t come to Okotoks. The second company stated it was a two person job and refused to even look at it. The third company was Summer Breeze Appliance. They came out one time, could not fix it but ordered the parts. The second time they came out, they could not get the panel in correctly and came back another day. They put the new panel in and the washing machine worked once before not working again. We called Summer Breeze and the technician to advise them their work did not work. To this day, we have not heard back... I believe they are out of business. SO we decided to get paid out a pro rate fee for our washing machine through LG so we didn’t have to go through the hassle. We finally got our cheque for that a couple of months ago ($769.87). Here comes the headache. I requested to have the one time flat rate fee reimbursed sometime in December of 2020. I have called LG every two weeks since the beginning of January to get this money back. I have been told since January that the customer service representatives have contacted their finance department multiple times with no response. I provided LG with the exact date of the transaction and they asked me to check my credit card statements. I told them I had not received anything. The most recent dealings with LG have been the worse. On 2021/03/03, I spoke to an executive team member, Mohammed (**). After a very lengthy conversation he stated he will look into it (the same thing every other representative stated) and will get back to me. Not one customer service representative ever got back to me. So I asked him to call me back by a certain date with any information. He said he could not provide a date to call me back. I pleaded and said give me a date to call back please as I am so busy when I am working. He stated maybe by Monday. I said, ‘maybe? Can you please promise Monday and not maybe?’. He stated ‘hopefully I won’t pass away by then. Hopefully I will still be alive to speak to you on Monday’. Monday 2021/03/08, at noon, I still hadn’t heard from Mohammed and thought maybe he did in fact pass away (cruel humour I know). I called LG and asked to speak to him. The customer service representative said that he was unavailable and that he will call me when he is free. Hours go by with no call. It is now 1 hour before they close. I call and ask to speak to another executive team member. He states he can’t help me because Mohammed has the information. I ask to speak to upper management. He hangs up on me. I call back and speak to Ernesto who tells me I have to email to speak to upper management. Email has been sent. He also says that Mohammed is right next to him. I ask him to ask Mohammed for an update. He said he couldn’t do that. Ernesto states the refund has been ‘approved’. He stated Covid has disrupted everything. I ask for him to put my call on hold to speak to Mohammed about ‘details only he can provide’. He refuses as well and hangs up on me. I am hoping to get some resolution to this matter. I have spent upwards of 14 hours on the phone with LG and feel like I am not getting anywhere. We are still without our washing machine and this has been a huge disruption in our life.

LG front load washer (WM0642HW) - The washer vibrates horribly when in the spin cycles! Our whole house shakes! You can hear the vibration outside the home! The floor vibrates when washer is in spin cycle! We have bought several different kinds/brands of shock-absorbers and installed them under each leg of the washer. Still no help! This is obviously a manufacturing defect. We called LG and they sent a certified LG appliance repair man to our home. All he would tell us was: LG makes a great product and use less than half the recommended amount of detergent to control the ‘smell’.” This is my second contact to you. Do you have other complaints against LG for this same problem? LG should replace my unit. I am willing to trade down just to get rid of this vibration! I have matching dryer. Together, these appliances were $1900.00!

I have an LG French Door Refrigerator Model # LFX25971ST. The icemaker, front control panel and water dispenser stopped working. I contacted LG to set up a service appointment. The LG technician came out and diagnosed that it was one of three possible circuit boards. He had to order them which required a second visit. The boards didnt fix it. So, the technician did further diagnosis and thinks that a bad wire in the left door is bad which would require replacing the door. The door is sealed so he cannot get to the wire to fix it. What a stupid design. Anyway, he has to come back for a third visit. I contacted LG customer assistance or should I say crap assistance, and requested a goodwill adjustment since my fridge is out of warranty. I felt my request was reasonable because of the amount of time I lost from work, there was nothing I did to cause the failure, and because of a poor design the repair would be a lot more expensive. The LG agent asked me to scan and send in my sales receipt and he would follow up and get back with me with a decision. That was a week ago. I finally called again and as usual, with these customer service centers you get people that are clueless. She told me she would put my request in but it takes about three business days to get a decision. I told her that I did this a week ago. Then she started telling me my fridge was out of warranty. Duh! Really? You know, if its out of warranty and LG doesnt want to back their products, thats life, but they didnt even keep their promise and call me back with a decision. I remember when refrigerators lasted for 30 years. Now, I think LG puts in all this useless electronics which just causes more things that go wrong, forcing customers to have to pay to keep their refrigerators running. Anyway, LG is off my shopping list forever. A Fridge that breaks thats only four years old tells you what kind of quality they have but hey they back that up with lousy customer service. When it comes to LG products all I can say is, Buyer Beware!

A couple years ago, we had a problem with the knobs on a LG gas range installed in a rental unit. The labelling on the knobs wrinkled due to the heat from the oven, and there was another problem that I dont recall now. After contacting a local appliance store and getting a referral for replacement parts available at a substantial cost, we contacted LG directly. They were very helpful and sent a new set of replacement knobs free of charge. Since there were a number of similar complaints posted at that time, I wanted to post this as a possible solution to the problem, even though my posting is long after the problem was solved.

My wife and I purchased our LG refrigerator in Dec 2018, and it ran great for 90 Days. In March 2019 I had noticed that the freezer had started to warm up and ice started to melt. I called Lowe’s and they had told me that since it was still under manufacturer warranty, that I had to deal with LG. So first off I called and set up a service call. Their service window is from 8:00 am to Noon and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm... Ugh... so my wife took the first day off, and the service tech did not show up until 2:30pm, whole day of wages lost. The techy comes in my house and proceeds to tell my wife that I need to remove a set of cabinets or cut vent holes in the one above the fridge, because according to him the fridge gets too hot and causes the compressor to fail. Crazy huh, so according to the owner’s manual, it states 1 on each side, 2 top and 3-4 on the back for proper ventilation, which I have. I designed my kitchen with this fridge in mind, so anyway I get home from work and the service guy is informing me that he does not have the right tools to diagnose my fridge. He said I need to set up another service call and he would get the right tools ordered, and he left. I have to say I was not happy about it. I argued with Lowe’s for the next 2 weeks trying to get a replacement, and Lowe’s could not do anything because of the warranty, so I call LG again and they will not replace it without a proper diagnosis. So it took another 2 weeks and multiple phone calls not only to Lowe’s but to LG as well to get this fridge diagnosed, come to find out the compressor went out after 90 days, didnt cost me anything but 2 day’s worth of wages and 400 dollar’s worth of food.

My husband and I bought a house with a LG range already present in the house. After using the convection oven for about ten months I noticed blue specks in our food. I investigated the inside of the oven to discover the blue enamel was peeling. I called a repair company who called LG, they requested pictures be sent of the oven. LG said they would provide a partial refund if we could produce a receipt for the range since it was out of warranty and irreparable. We can not produce such document because it came with the house. I demanded to know if the paint we digested was toxic, the customer service rep said he would find out, but would not pay for the stove.Another week (three now) went by, I have a recorded message from another customer service rep stating they will not pay for the range and also could not tell us if the paint was toxic for another MONTH!!! Because it was made in Korea!!! If the paint is toxic, we will be dead in another month I guess. Any product used for cooking, peeling paint containing unknown substances from Korea MUST be recalled!!! LG may refuse to replace my range because I dont have a receipt, but they should at least offer to pay medical bills for blood testing of the four people whom ate the unknown substance in their Korean enamel.I wanted to help others avoid this same trauma so I took to Facebook, where LG accused me of spamming and blocked me from their page to hide this toxic secret. I also still have this message saved to my phone. Like every other complaint on this site, I am sure they will say they take pride in their product and refer me to the website. The fact is the website, the company, customer service, no one knows or cares what we ingested and until this is fixed this product needs to be taken off the market.

I purchased my LG Waveforce washer from Sears (thankfully it was on sale). I have the same problem as the Shannon in LA. Takes forever to wash a load, from the error codes. This started from the beginning and I called LG and every time they came out it would not duplicate. Finally after months of this and many phone calls to LG, they actually replaced it. Same thing. I just gave up and have been dealing with this washer for about 4 years now, waiting till it completely dies and I can buy a new washer. I sure do miss my old Kenmore that had a ringer in the middle. That one got my clothes clean. There is never enough water to get the clothes really clean, if and when it finishes washing which takes double time because it stops and starts over. The only setting I use is the bulky/bedding one because it uses the most water. I can never leave the house once I start a load, because it would never finish. Thankfully its only me, dont wash much and I sit near it, so I can hear when it ** up. The clothes smell moldy after washing them, and the machine is always smelly after a wash. I hate this piece of crap.

We paid a fortune for this washer. It is an LG Wave Force True Balance top load. As another consumer stated, you cannot wash a small or a very large load without the UE code showing on the display. The machine constantly tries to balance itself. To me, 1 or 2 things is a small load. Ive washed 10-12 articles of clothing and I still get a UE. I go in readjust the load, press start. 10 minutes later I get UE again. It takes me 2 hours to wash a load of clothes. The repairman came out twice. We had a discussion over the small load issue. So now my unfortunate solution has been to change to a slower spin speed (which often does not work either) or to wash pants, shirts, towels and under garments all together so I can come up with a load size that the machine will take. Very poor design. I will never buy an LG washer again. It was a waste of money.

All bookings are through them. I have a 2007 dryer. LG quoted $95 for a technician to look at it. They designated Priority Appliances to do the work. Priority said they would charge $125.00 to visit and do only 15 minutes work for that price. LG would not honour their quoted price. This means a minimum of $125.00 + parts + installation time + taxes -- the price of a replacement machine. Nobody else can buy parts in Canada. He said that he would replace same, thus fixing the problem. We felt relief and happy; however after replacing compressor, saying he was done and we thought, Wow! Finally, this is the end, imagine our dilemma and surprise when he Casually said- Oh! the main board is NOT working and you have to pay additional charges and service fee to replace!! Plus I dont have the part- I have to come back-next week. The fridge Will Not work without it. - Panic mode set in and crying took over.We are broken!! We had beside suffering undue, stress, also suffering physical health issues, since refrigerated medications were loss-cause by this broken appliance. In addition to the loss of food, deterioration of health, mental stress, were still left with a broken fridge. After spending so much on an appliance (said to last 20 years, right?!). Speaking with LG customer service we feel that LG shows lack of concern to all our issues. HELP!! Can anyone at LG please end this suffering. Plus we now question this replacement of main board- why was this not said on initial diagnosis, before he initiated repair of compressor??Plus we are being charge for all this. Not Fair!! Not Right!! Feel abused! At this point we just wish this fridge gone, gone and LG refund our cost price. We want to get back to our normal life, Please. PLEASE!! Can anyone from LG managerial staff address this? Anyone with POSITIVE Answers/results. Is customer satisfaction a priority? (Then why are we treated this way?) HELP!! Have finally narrowed down the clothes washing machine that would best suit our family needs. Our choice was the LG 5680HVAS. Unfortunately, or actually luckily, my wife decided to dry run the washer by attempting to simulate retrieving clothes once washed. She discovered, at 5 3, she could not reach the bottom of the tub. We then went on to investigate the Maytag designs as well as the Samsung, and GE. We did not review any others. It appears that all of the HE designs have incorporated a physically taller design to facilitate the deeper drum. Bottom line, if you are 5 5 or physically shorter, dont buy one of these machines as you will be greatly inconvenienced every time you use it.

The drawer comes off the track, and wont close right, and then I cant shut the refrigerator door. If they dont make good on this, I will never buy another LG product.

Both washer and dryer match. I have the clear top to look down into the top loading washer. It does an excellent wash job, handles large loads with ease, and has more than enough cycle options. Its energy efficient by using only the necessary amount of water. Cant believe I waited this long to buy a new model.

We purchased this refrigerator in December 2016. The first issue was the very typical water tube leak which caused cascading icicles in the freezer (LOWES was very helpful with this problem). A couple of days ago, the right top hinge came loose, causing the door to hit me in the chest. I had to support the door to prevent it falling completely off. We were able to reattach the hinge pin and duct tape it to prevent a recurrence. This could have had catastrophic results. Prior to the hinge pin coming out, the door had been difficult to close properly, but we could not see what was causing the problem. I will not purchase any more LG products.

We ALWAYS bought SEARS products, so when the time came to purchase a new refrigerator, we went to our local SEARS store. We bought one with a bottom freezer (LG). Its beautiful, BUT started malfunctioning less than 1 year later (it wouldnt stay cold). After several calls (and hours of being on HOLD) to their customer service department, and answering the same questions over and over, I finally reached a sympathetic rep who actually listened and realized that my fridge was STILL under the manufacturers warranty, as well as the purchased extended warranty. She ordered a replacement refrigerator, and we got it about 10 days later. Two years after receiving the 2nd fridge, that one started malfunctioning! We opted to get the home warranty, but still had to pay around $600 out of pocket. Now, another two year later... here we go AGAIN!!! Same fridge, same issue. But, due to the pandemic, we tried to lower our expenses, and recently cancelled the home warranty. So, again on the phone with SEARS trying to see if there was anything that could be done (like maybe there was a recall on this model). Now some may say Bad luck, but I say CHEAP QUALITY... Do not buy LG or Sears products!! BUYER BEWARE!!

Clothes get twisted and tangled up with each other (sleeves and pant legs - anything with length). Design is terrible - curved top not a good surface. You cant set anything on top because it slides off! The wash drum is too deep and you have to reach way down to get clothes! How do short people get their clothes out?Overall, this set w/ dryer is very poor design - too many buttons & choices to chose from! Hope this machine breaks soon so I can get rid of it on Craigslist for cheap!

This is a follow-up to my first complaint. We sent in the serial number lab
This is a follow-up to my first complaint. We sent in the serial number label and paperwork stating that we would not hold LG responsible for a hush money settlement of $264.00. The offer had expired while we were pursuing our legal options, so we called and talked to a gal named Courtney who said, “No problem. Send in the paperwork and we will honor the cash hush payment originally offered.” We received a phone call today from a person named Sunyung who originally had made the offer. She informed us that now the offer had gone down to $194.00, because Courtney had no authority to authorize a hush payout. Then, she proceeded to complain and tell me that communication between the people in customer service wasnt what it should be. I told her that sounded like an internal problem and I was not being paid to listen to her and try to figure out how the communication could be rectified within her department! I asked to speak to her superior, and she gave me to Michael. Michael told me that yes, the part was warrantied, but I got one of the small percentage of refrigerators that were unfixable, basically the lemon model, and thats just how the ball bounces. They still would not honor the warranty and told me since the fridge was now a month older, it was worth $70.00 less! This thing hasnt worked for 9 months! I think I will just wait for the class action suit that I am sure will be coming up in the next few years when a lawyer gets a hold of this and wants to make some easy money. I dont care if I get only an 18 cents payout. It is now the principle of the situation. I did tell Michael he could be president with all his doublespeak and asked him why they want to beat their customers up so badly. First, they lie about their warranties; then, they offer you hush money; then, they renege on that. No ethics with these people. Obviously, they have no faith in God because this is just not how you treat people. Life sometimes just isnt fair. This is one of those times.

Bought a kitchen suite of LG Black stainless appliances in July 2016. Within 2 weeks the gas stove top started to get rust pitting, we called LG, nothing they could do for cosmeticproblems. Strike One. Within one month the icemaker in the door of our refrigerator began building up ice and freezing up. We went online and were advised to check the seal and change the filter. We did, We defrosted it every week for months because water drops would form on the top of the freezer drawer and eventually drip on our brand new oak floors. Not to mention we couldnt open the door to retrieve ice. Strike Two. Well at just over a year the water dispenser decided to turn itself on and flood our kitchen, basement and ruin our floors. A call to LG yielded nothing but a recommendation for a repairman. He showed up, said it needed to be reset. He did that and said it was fixed. Before he could put his tools away and give us the bill the water dispenser again turned itself back on. He had me turn the water supply to it off, said he was going to get some parts and never came back. No bill, no word.... Gone. Well for the last 2 years we make ice with a counter top ice maker. Strike Three. Recently the black Stainless has started to peel ojf the refrigerator. It is literally black saran wrap. We have used nothing but water and a paper towel to clean it for fear of ruining the finish. Anyone else seeing a trend here. We are 2 middle aged adults, no kids around, no pets, who treat our belongings carefully. I couldnt imagine what these appliances would look like in a busy household with kids and pets. LG, worst decision we ever made. Stay away at all costs. Customer service is non existent and products are poorly made. DO NOT BUY.

DONT BUY LG! I bought an LG stainless steel refrigerator and after 30 days the top 1/4 of the doors turned brown. LG says this is cosmetic and not their issue. I bought an extended warranty through BrandsMart and that company says they only cover electrical and mechanical. The store, BrandsMart, says it is an LG issue. Bottom line from this Abbott and Costello routine is that I am stuck with a 30 day old stainless steel refrigerator that looks rusted.

We have been having a cooling issues with our LG French Door Refrigerator.
We have been having a cooling issues with our LG French Door Refrigerator. We called the 800 243 0000 number a few times. The first time, the associate asked us to reset the unit and wait for 24 hrs. After the unit failed to reset, we called the number since the unit is under warranty. We were told LG does not have service technicians in our area and we will have to go through an authorized service center. The first service center refused to work with us saying they need the original sales receipt even after LG promised to cover the parts. The authorized service center then called me to give an estimate of $1500 without even looking at the unit. After we called LG service to help us find a technician or another service center, the LG executive response team member set me up with another authorized service center, who set up an appointment after LG provided an authorization. We waited for a week for the appointment, only to have the service call and inform us that they made a mistake and will not service LG units. This is after the LG associate was on a conference call with us and the service center a week ago. So after two week of waiting we have no resolution in sight and LG customer service keeps giving us the runaround. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE LG PRODUCTS.

I purchased an LG refrigerator February 2008, French doors with bottom freezer. I had issues almost immediately, but were resolved under warranty. However, it took 2 weeks for the parts to arrive. Since the warranty expired, the plastic liner of the right door that has knobs to hold the door racks have broke; the door seals are tearing, there are cracks everywhere on the internal plastic liner; the catch for the top freezer tray broke off. This product is literally falling apart. We have contacted LG about some off these issues, but the response has been you are out of warranty and the repairs are on you. What a great company! Never buy an LG refrigerator.
