Our four year old, big, expensive refrigerator isnt any cooler than an ordinary cupboard. The (lack of) service that LG provides is lamentable. This is a company that does not stand behind its products. Our LG dishwasher broke within the first year after purchase. Do not buy LG products unless you have the money to throw away.

UPDATED ON 1/20/2021: We contacted LG about the problem that we experienced but to no avail. Even though their instruction booklet told us how to cook bacon (which we followed) the microwave caught fire. Apparently there was a problem with the unit. After going back and forth with them about this problem they finally e-mailed us a letter stating they would reimburse us the amount of money we spent for the microwave. The only thing that was required was that we purchase a new LG microwave, which we did. We had to send them copies of the purchase receipts from both microwaves and the labels off the old one, which we did in order to get the refund. We were then instructed to dispose of the old microwave. Unfortunately they did not hold up to their promise. After many calls on our part with promises of them getting back to us, with what appears no intentions of doing so. Now they are telling us that we were the cause of the problem, and will not refund our money even though they sent us the letter telling us otherwise.ORIGINAL REVIEW: Purchased a LG microwave about 5 months ago. While cooking food according to their instructions in their manual the microwave started on fire. Either the manuals instructions were wrong or the microwave malfunctioned. LG was called and a service person was sent out. We were informed by their service department that the service person they sent out would determine whether the microwave would be repaired or replaced. According to the service person we had been misinformed in that he does not make that decision, and that is left for someone else. We were told that he would turn in his report and we would be contacted. An engineer contacted us and said that the microwave did not malfunction and because there was a fire in it LG is not responsible. Why is it that we followed all the directions but yet they dont want to acknowledge that there is something wrong with the microwave? No pictures are available as damage was on the inside top of microwave.

I bought a LG Refrigerator 2 years ago with the bottom freezer..About 6 months ago it started making weird noises and the ice maker went out 2 months ago..Today the whole fridge went out...I read the reviews today that go back years with the same problems..My question is, Why is LG allowed to continue to sell this faulty appliance? I paid over $1,000 for my fridge and now am forced to use my 20 year old fridge again and Im out $1,000!!!!!!!!!! How is this even legal?

I purchased an LG electric range and refrigerator. An extended warranty was not purchased, as I didnt feel a $1400.00 range and $1700.00 refrigerator would require repairs in a 5-year period. The refrigerator has been problematic (leaks and broken plastic drawers), but it keeps the food cold. So well deal with the unsightly leaks and work to the best of our ability to keep our expensive wood floor dry. My current problem is my electric range. It quit working altogether, and by reading many complaints, the model is infamous for this breakdown. In speaking to LG customer service department, the only remedy she could offer is the name and number for the only repairman they have contracted in the Louisville area. An appointment was arranged with Universal Appliance, which was confirmed before I took 5 hours of unpaid time off from work. Needless to say, they did not show up. I was given an explanation and told they would be here before 10 am the following day (more unpaid time off work). It is 9:55 am and still no repairman. I am left with a non-working 2-year-old electric range and up to this point $150.00 pay deduction. I am disappointed in the sub-standard quality of my LG products and feel I have no recourse.

Couldnt agree with James of Dover, DE more. Good stuff, James. Didnt think Id ever be laughing so hard about my Awful LG washer. From the day it arrived, it has controlled, taunted and frustrated me to no end. One load cycle averages about 24 hours and three check ins on my part. Considering a washboard as a replacement, to save time, effort and aggravation. And frankly, the matching dryer isnt much better as it almost invariably dries clothes down to damp, at which point I have to start it again to wring out the last ten minutes of time needed to get to dry. Stingy machines with no redeeming qualities. Steer clear.

We recently purchased a LG fridge and have been happy with is so far. It is a top/bottom layout with the door in a door with the glass window. It is convenient to grab drinks and other often used items. It keeps everything very cool inside. We set it a few degrees lower to help keep the door items cool. The front items in the door average about 40 degrees while the inside is around 33-35. The Freezer section stays around 0 as desired so no issues there. We bought the extended warranty based on some reviews but are hoping to get a solid 10 years out of the fridge.

Updated 09/04/2020: Every single review here on this website, there is a response from LG promising to look into the problem, its been two weeks since I sent them my information that they asked for and have heard nothing. Since then Ive had my electric range repaired. On my credit card statement they charged me $135 just for the diagnostic and $150.50 for the replacement of a Rotary Switch. It took the repair technician 45 minutes to take my stove apart and test each component. He couldnt determine what was wrong with the stove at this point. Then he went to the visitor parking lot where his truck was parked and brought in the box of parts, why didnt he bring them in when he came in, (the clock is ticking at $65 for 15 minutes)? He opened the box and took out a rotary switch, thats the plug on the knob that turns your stove on and off. He replaced it and that was what the problem was, problem solved. The time that it took him replacing the very first part that he tested without taking the range apart was like two minutes. He should have done that to begin with. Summary: it took the Technician 50 minutes to take the whole stove apart and test everything without a diagnosis and less than 5 minutes to replace the first part that he tested without having to take the whole stove apart. I was charged an additional $150.50 for that on top of the $135 for the diagnostic fee. I disputed this charge with a supervisor after calling them and havent heard anything since 8/27/20 for their review of my complaint.Original review: I purchased the $1,100 electric range 2 years ago. I use it three, four times a month maximum and already after 2 years the front right burner doesnt work. I called customer service to inquire about it and they informed me the warranty had expired after a year. I said I was very disappointed after having a stove for only 2 years that already I need to have a burner replaced. I was told that the supervisor could review the matter and that I would hear back 3 to 5 days. I heard back after about eight days with a denial and that I have to pay for the repair. Im stunned that I paid $1,100 for the stove and already and it needs to be repaired???

Our LG is a beautiful-looking appliance and for 2 years I enjoyed most everything except for the water leaking out of the bottom on to my maple floor. I called several times just to speak to someone who said I would have to call an authorized service tech (only they are located 100+ miles away and want a lot of money to come to see if it can be fixed). The ice would build up on the freezer floor, so every week I would remove everything from the freezer, remove the ice, and then the next week do it all over again. Then 3 weeks ago the refrigerator portion just quit cooling. (It will get to 58 degrees and that is it.) Now I put all my perishables in my 20 year old Frigidaire. Nobody wants to come fix the LG and customer service needs a lot of training on being customer service.I also have an LG phone for 1 month -- JUNK. I just want to say when I go buy another refrigerator it wont be LG and I will do a lot of research before I give any of my hard-earned money to another company. By the way, I did not get an extended warranty because my other refrigerator is 20 years old and still works great! Should have not gotten a new one. If I worked or owned LG I would hide my face. This is the second complaint I have written on this product.

I had chosen an LG refrigerator for many reasons. First being its energy efficiency, design and functionality. It wasnt the top of the line model but was very reliable. It had plenty of space on the door for large 2 liter bottles. It also had a lot of drawer space. Had a nice clean look. The ice maker was added luxury for me. There was nothing I disliked about the LG. It performed very well for me. Would definitely purchase another LG. They seem to stay right up with current technology.

LG electric Range LSB5611SW/SB/SS - I received a safety advisory note from Sears that their burners on certain ranges were failing to turn off after being switched off. Sears was very quick in responding by sending a technician to replace a board. The technician turned on a burner to test that it was working. Later, I started to cook, turned on a burner to mark 5. Loud clicking noises were heard, not once but intermittently. It only stopped when I turned the knob to the highest point or turned it off. Upon my complaint to Sears, another contracted technician (Jim) was sent. He had to call an LG technician for instructions. He checked that the board was connected per LGs instructions, and upon turning on the stove again, he agreed with me that the clicks were loud. Jim said that he would report the matter to Sears. After not having heard back from Sears, I called them again. Apparently, there was no report about any clicking noises from the contractor. Each time, I get to speak to a different agent either in Montreal or Belleville. I then called Jim who assured me that he spoke with Sears in the Burnaby outlet. I then decided to call LG. I spoke with a Josh who asked me when the contracted technician replaced the monitor. I said in January. He said that there was a directive that went out that those units that were attended to prior to February 2013 had to be rewired. That meant that the monitor on my range was wired incorrectly and Sears should have sent a technician to correct the error. On March 18, 2013, I spoke with a Claude from LG who told me that there was no report of my conversation with Josh, and that he would get Josh to return my call. On April 5, 2013, I spoke with Tia explaining the whole story again. I asked to speak with a manager but he was in a meeting. In the meantime, I have purchased a two-burner stove. The clicking noises are annoying. The kicker is that other households have complained about the clicking noises. What is LG and Sears going to do about it? Can they correct the problem? Or is this problem insurmountable? It is 4 months since I received the notice from Sears.

I too have had the exact same problems that Karen of Fort Wright posted on Oct. 22, 2012. I also bought my LG French door refrigerator 3 1/2 years ago from Sears. I was planning to purchase a Kenmore, but i would have to wait almost 2 weeks which I couldnt do. The salesman talked me into getting the LG model (August 2009). After 14 months of use, the fridge stopped working (October 2010)! I didnt purchase the extended warranty (never have found them worth paying for as I have never needed to use one). Needless to say, I contacted Sears for repair. The repairman diagnosed a blown fuse, which meant replacing the circuit board also. Repair was approximately $300.00 in all. The fridge has been working fine until yesterday, Dec. 21, 2012! Of course because it is only 5 days before Christmas, we were fully stocked up and expecting a houseful of company on the 25th! We had to empty everything out! Run all of this food out to the garage, wipe the fridge down so it doesnt smell and hope the authorized repairman can stop by sometime Christmas eve. He is only working a half day, but I will try to make it. Talk about pressure! This is just terrible, terrible timing. A terrible waste of money and a terrible product! Save your self the headache and do not purchase LG! Not only expensive to repair (with or without the warranty), but extremely frustrating!

We have a six year old French door LG refrigerator, $2,700 purchased at Home Depot. It stopped cooling fridge and freezer. A local repair man told me it was the compressor and that he didnt work on LG refrigerators. I called the customer service number in the owners manual. The sealed system has a parts warranty for seven years and the compressor has a parts warranty for 10 years. When I called them, I told them that my compressor or sealed system was bad as the repair guy had told me. They acted like it was no problem and sold me a repair package for $459.00. They said that would include the repair and a year warranty on the repair. I said great and bought it. They send out the first guy after waiting several days. He said after a few minutes, the compressor is bad and he had to order the part. Well, after several days I hear that he is not coming back to fix it so now I have to wait several more days for LG to send someone else. Another guys shows up and says compressor bad, Im like yeah I know that. He says we will order the parts and it will take several days to get it. He gives me a card and receipt and is on his way. I wait days and never hear anything. I call the number in his card, they say we dont fix LG compressors. This is the same story that I got from the first one and this time I told LG to only send out a service that could fix it because I already knew that was the issue and they should have too since the first guy didnt want to fix it. So this time I was livid. They sent someone else that refused to fix it probably because LG will not pay them enough to fix it. LG continued to give me a runaround after they sold me this repair service for labor on what should be parts under warranty. Not to mention the fact that they screwed me around for three weeks sending their two chosen repairmen out who then refused to fix it but LG was not straightforward on that. I got the same BS story that I read in some other reviews that they say they dont have a repair person in my area. I told them that I live right outside of Houston and if you dont have a repair person in my area then you dont have one anywhere. They then said they would refund my repair purchase minus $100 for a service call fee. I was more livid! At this point I had been out of a refrigerator for over three weeks. We are a family of six with four children. It was our only refrigerator. We were living out of a mini fridge out of our attic and coolers! They did not care one bit. As I figured out that this was going to be a process, I went to Lowes and purchased a basic Whirlpool refrigerator for my garage. After threatening them with BBB and lawsuit, they refunded me my full purchase price of the repair package they sold me. I asked how they get away with not fulfilling their parts warranty. They offered me a one time chance to call my own repair man and I could call in or email his info to them and they would authorize him to get the parts under warranty but of course then I start over on service calls, fees and labor charges and Im sure, more runaround with LG sending the parts that my repair guy would need to fix it. I am so done with dealing with them. From the other reviews I read, Im lucky that my fridge lasted six years! I paid $2,700 for this refrigerator and we have kept it in perfect condition but now it is an expensive nice looking nonworking piece of junk! They are a horrible company. I called local repair companies and many dont even work on LG or Samsung refrigerators. They say their systems are too complicated and awful. I will never ever buy an LG again. I will not purchase Samsung either after what I have read and found out from repairmen. We have been operating out of the one I purchased for the garage and I am researching what to buy to replace my $2,700 LG. Awful, awful, horrible company for customer service!!! I will be purchasing Whirlpool/KitchenAid or maybe GE. It is really unbelievable what they put me through in this process and they do not care one little bit. I am a stay at home mom so I could be around without taking time off work but total and complete runaround and they lie non stop to you. They do not care about you one little bit and wouldnt care if you did have to take off work to deal with their scam and it is a scam!

On April 2012, we purchased an LG over-the-stove microwave Model LMH2016ST for $320. The warranty was only good for one year but we thought we were buying a good product so went ahead and purchased it. On August 2015, the Primary Interlock Switch on the door broke so we called a recommended appliance repairman who replaced it for a total of $170.75. The same switch broke again on February 2016, one year later, and the same repairman told us he has to order a new part and this will cost another $170.75. I called LG Company and registered a complaint about this happening twice and they told me I should have paid attention to the one year warranty at the time of purchase. They do not stand behind their products. We will not repair this microwave because we have already put $237 into this product that appears to be a lemon. This is the last LG product of any kind that we will purchase. We also had a brand new $3000 refrigerator break down the first week we purchased it. Luckily that very expensive part was covered by the warranty at the time. So far, our LG Range is still working. We have lost all confidence in LG products and will not buy anything else from this company.

This the worst dryer I have ever had! Wish I had never bought it. It started having problems immediately shutting off 5 minutes or less as soon as started with smaller and larger loads even with normal loads sometimes on every cycle except speed cycle which is the only cycle that you can adjust the time and temp on. I called LG and they conned me into thinking it was ok by doing some bogus test over the phone. The dry sensor is in the lint filter which is so narrow there is no way to clean it properly, it gets clogged easily so the sensor can’t tell if clothes are dry or wet and she told me that it was a problem anyway with larger or smaller loads, wtf? My sensor was not even dirty then. I have tried cleaning the filter case and it is impossible, it is too narrow to get my small hands in and too narrow for any of the numerous vacuum attachments I have tried. This is the worst design I have ever seen in my life!!!!I called for service finally with an extended plan with PC Richard and they were terrible.. Poop had gotten in the dryer and was in the filter case and he refused to remove the whole thing or even show me how to do it. He stuck a brush in and then turned it on and huge amounts of stuff went into the exit pipe, but it is still full of gunk and lint. He was not able to clean it properly with a brush either or just couldn’t be bothered.I wish I had returned immediately and bought a Speed Queen which will be my next dryer. I will never buy an LG product ever again and I may not purchase at PC Richard again either. Neither is helping at all yet with this situation. LG offered to send their own tech out after I demanded to speak with a supervisor, but she said I would be charged if they determined it was not a mechanical, etc. issue. Well, guess what, it IS a mechanical issue because of your crappy design. This is a terrible design flaw and the company does not stand behind their product and now apparently neither does PC Richard who we have purchased everything from for years.

After 20 years and replacing many parts on my trustworthy but not flawless
After 20 years and replacing many parts on my trustworthy but not flawless Maytag washer and dryer, I finally convinced my wife we should invest in a new set. Unfortunately, we didnt do our homework... she liked the LG set she saw at Home Depot, and away we went. I have to say, Ive made more expensive mistakes in my life, but not many.Theres not much to add that hasnt already been said here, regarding the uneven load syndrome and the fact that it takes all day and probably hundreds of gallons of water to finish what should be a 50 minute load on a water saving machine. Unlike others on this or other forums, I have NOT called LG. Based on all the horror stories I read on every repair site online, it seems pointless to even try. There seems to be NO recognition by LG at the vast extent of this problem with their products, and from what I see, no recourse by consumers. Of those who have gotten repair work done, many incurred significant expense for something that never should have happened in the first place. And for many, the repair (software, new circuit board, etc) was ineffective. The sad part is, I see no responsibility shared by any of the major retailers who sell these products.Im with everyone else - I will never purchase another LG product as long as I live, and Im really stuck with a decision of throwing away a washer that is under a year old, or living with this stupid thing until it craps out. Its apparent I will NEVER get my moneys worth out of it, so it seems pointless to hang onto it any longer really. The best we can do, I feel, is write to the retailers from whom we purchased these LG products and tell them about the issues, and let them know were not happy with their continued decision to sell LG products.

To be honest, the other appliances have been OK for their purchase price... This dishwasher, however, has broken down after 2 years of normal use. After calling their very friendly customer service phone bank (that has no actual power to do anything), I was informed that, lucky for me, in order to repair the dishwasher, I had two options: pay $400 for a warranty or only $265 for a repair! Purchased a Front Load washer less than 3 years ago and it will not power on. Paid an electrician to come and verify that the outlet was getting power even though the same outlet powered other devices (Im thorough). Unplugged the device for a while then plugged it back in. It powered on then went right back off. Called LG support and she had me spin the drum, trip the breaker again, unplug it then plug it back up. Asked if it was purchased over a year ago and when I said yes I was pushed off to a retailer that supports their product at my own expense of course. I told her that its sad that others are having issues with the washers and that you pawn them off once the year warranty is up. The high reviews that are online need to removed or at least state the constant issues with the machine. Spending over $1000 on a washer that doesnt perform up to par and becomes useless in 2-3 years should have some type of recall for manufacturing defects!

I purchased a LG washer and dryer from Sears 09/2010. My washer has started rusting. I have contacted Sears, LG and Better Business. I can not get anyone to take care of this or stand behind the product as promised when it was purchased. This is a manufacturing problem not any fault of mine. I would advise anyone do not purchase a LG washer, and do not purchase any appliances from Sears. Read all the bad ratings of Sears and LG. Don t make the mistake I DID.

For the second time in less than 2 years, my LG french door refrigerator has MAJOR issues. Im not counting the other service calls on this hunk of junk - just the one that two weeks to fix before (bad motherboard) and the one now which is a sealed system (or unsealed in our case). LG is SO UNHELPFUL it isnt even funny. Ive bought a lot of refrigerators over the years, and never, ever, ever have I had these kind of problems. And, if LG actually stood behind their product, I wouldnt be this angry. But they couldnt care less. They read the little scripted message to you over and over again, that when they receive the technician report theyll see what they can do, etc. Probably the same thing as they did the last time, which was absolutely NOTHING! When youve made a purchase of close to $3,000, youd like the thing to work for more than a year without a problem!!! Do yourself a favor, and NEVER BUY AN LG REFRIGERATOR UNLESS YOU LIKE HAVING YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE SHOOT OFF THE CHARTS!!!

My husband and I were recently upgrading our stainless steel appliances. Keep in mind I loved my old ones but my daughter was getting a new house so we thought we would give her ours and get we! I did some research and found the items I wanted at Lowes! I had them delivered and loved the way they looked! After my first load of dishes I was wanting my old appliances back. I called lowes and they told me oh they would never recommend an LG Dishwasher! Not only is the dishwasher horrible it does not get the dishes clean and leaves water and spots on everything but the stainless steel always looks horrible! Ive had stainless before but for some reason this brand is horrible! I am now noticing small dings in the appliances. It is just my husband and I were very careful so the durability of these appliances is horrible.

Updated on 11/13/2019: Another 2 days have gone by and it is 4 pm and the LG service people have not shown up again. Consumer Affairs keeps say there are holding things up due to the fact they cannot find our refrigerator by the serial number. I would like to take a picture of it, but they don’t tell me where to send it. My husband send a copy of our receipt over a week ago, but that doesn’t seem to be enough! We have been without a refrigerator since October 3rd- guess my next step is The Better Business Bureau. Every day they promise something it it never seems to happen. I lost over $400 in food plus 6 weeks of eating out. My house is up for sale and how do you think a non-working refrigerator looks to people looking at our house! LG Service is the worst.Updated on 11/11/2019: This is a follow up to a previous review.... After 6 weeks without a refrigerator we were scheduled service for the 3rd time, today between 1& 5- took off of work again (they told us this would be a 3 hour repair) and guess what they call us at 1:30 to cancel our appt for today! Will never buy another LG product just because their set ice is so bad!Original Review: On October 3rd, I called for Service on my LG refrigerator- they did some sort of scan from my phone and told me the refrigerator was fine and I must have left the door ajar and that is why things were warm and ice was melting. I was told to unplug my refrigerator for about 15 minutes, plug it back in and keep door closed for at least 6 hours and I should be fine. I went to bed, got up the next morning and everything in my freezer was thawed and refrigerator was warm, so needless to say I had to throw away hundreds of dollars worth of food.I called again, they wanted to send a repairman out the following Monday and not before, well we were leaving town Sunday for my son’s wedding. Service was then scheduled for October 18th. When they came on the 18th I was told I needed a new compressor on my 3 year old refrigerator which was still under warranty. But it would take them 10 days to get the parts. Service was set up for October 28th between 8 and 12 and I was told it may take 3 hours, so I took the day off of work.Well, the 28th comes but only 2 of 3 parts had been delivered, so they did not come. Then it was rescheduled for today 10/30, but parts still are not in....after many phone calls and not getting any real answers - we have asked for a new refrigerator they say you have to have 3 service calls for the same complaint or if they can’t get the parts from 30 days after service call. Well even though we called on 10/3, the 30 days starts on 10/18 when the service man actually came to our house. So, apparently we have to wait now til 11/18 if the part doesn’t come in - that is 6 weeks without a refrigerator. I will never buy LG again!

When we built a custom home two years ago we thought we researched for the best front load washer available for our laundry room at the time. My wife and I decided that Consumer Report would be the best reference point. DO NOT GET LED DOWN THIS PATH. We purchased the Front Load LG WM8000HVA. After a year our clothes started to smell so we ran some cycles with bleach, then vinegar, then AFFRESH. Nothing helped... NOTHING.Just go online and see thousands of reviews for front load washers. I dont think it is just the LG. I think it is a problem for all front loads. My wife has a great nose and with that comes a lot of complaining. The solution was difficult but easy: I bought a new $1200 LG WT7600KKA yesterday from Best Buys in Louisville, KY. Giving our current front load to charity.

After 6 years of owning the dryer and doing no more than 4 loads a week - I live alone, I noticed a loud thumping coming from my LG dryer. It got progressively louder so I called a repair man. The drum was broken at the seam. It cost me $400 to replace the drum. $400! He said it was a fluke and that this didnt happen normally. But I just read online that others have had the very same problem. LG better pull it together. Now the dryer isnt drying the towels completely, I was researching the problem, could be my lint vent which is not a dryer issue but I came across these complaints and I was really ticked off. I feel burned. I paid top dollar for this dryer and I figured it was a top brand. Buyer beware is all I have to say.

I bought a two drawer LG refrigerator last July and two days ago the freezer stopped freezing and the fridge stopped cooling. I called LG and they said that the earliest a technician could come out to look at it was in 4 days. I kept my cool and told the lady that this is not my problem and that she needed to let me know when the technician would be at my house. We talked for an hour, she kept telling me that the repair persons dont work on the weekend and I explained to her that this is not acceptable and to please call me back to let me know when someone would be at my house to fix the fridge which by the way is under warranty. She hasnt called back. I had to throw out the contents of the freezer and the fridge except for the ketchup.Apparently they have a process to refund damage or soiled goods but I have yet to receive the email from them to fill it out and send it in. I suggested that she call Lowes and have them send me a new fridge as I know they keep inventory in their stores. She seemed confused when I said this and I asked her where she was located. She said in the Philippines. I kept conversing with her and asked her what she would do if it was her family that didnt have a fridge to cool food products. She didnt seem to have an answer. All in all LG stands for Lifes good, well Lifes not so good in my house. I doubt I will buy an LG product ever ever again.

After slightly less than 3 years my French Door Refrigerator suddenly could not get cold enough to safely refrigerate the food and safely keep foods frozen. The temperature in the refrigerator box hovered at about 40 and the freezer at around 32. The temperatures would not change even though I increased the coldness setting. A repairman from a reputable repair company and after testing and checking all of the different components he said the compressor was failing. He said that it was a common problem with the LG refrigerator. He said he had several compressor failures in them a year and that nearly all of them were less than 3 years old. The repair cost is more than it is worth. I am just going to buy a new brand. I also tried to contact LGs technicians to confirm the problem. They wanted $30 to discuss this with me since it was out of warranty.

I guess I should feel lucky. My $2200 LG refrigerator lasted 3.25 years. Reading all of the other reviews it appears the average is 2.5 years. LG states the life expectancy is 20 years. If they truly believed that, why doesnt the compressor have a 20 year warranty. Its baseless marketing, My dead refrigerator has been standing in my kitchen Since July of 2019. Consumers settled a class action suit against LG, but LG still has not done a thing to resolve my issues except send me a generic e-mail referring to their website. LG responds to these reviews, stating this is not a normal customer experience.LG fought a class action suit, lost, and had an appeal dismissed on their faulty compressor issues. And they have yet to fulfill their obligations in the settlement. This is the routine for LG customers, not the exception. Search: LG REFRIGERATOR CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT BENTLEY, ET AL. V. Since purchasing this new dryer, I have to run all loads on a minimum of 2 cycles to dry, mostly with towels and not huge loads but maybe 10 towels I usually have to run through 4 dry settings to get them dry enough which is ridiculous. This is why we replaced our old Samsung dryer. Gonna be replacing our washing machine soon, and after this complete waste of a dryer purchase, we will definitely be looking at other avenues and brands for our washing machine upgrade. I liked my LG refrigerator when I bought it about three years ago, but its compressor went out, and I wasnt very happy with it a few weeks ago. I love the refrigerator, the way it operates as well as the shelving, and its easy to take care of. But then I noticed my freezer things were getting a little mushy soft in the freezer. A few days later, my son came over and we went through the directions on how to restart it. You pull the plug and let it rest, which we did, and we adjusted some other things. But when I got up the next morning, my whole kitchen floor was full of water. So, he said the compressor went out on it. LG then came out here and put a new compressor in. They also sent me a check for the food that I lost, which I did lose a lot. I appreciate that I didnt have to put any money out, but it was very frustrating. We purchased this product in June 2015. About a month after the 1 year warranty period was over, the refrigerator started making a loud noise, almost sounding like a lawn-mower was hiding inside the unit. It was soon followed by an error E RF on the display panel. Upon contacting LGs customer support, who were quick to point out that the warranty period was over, they informed me that the error indicated that the refrigerator fan was malfunctioning possibly due to ice forming around the refrigerator fan unit causing the issue. I was asked to do a manual defrost, i.e. physically shutting down the power and letting it sit for 8 hours for the ice to melt before switching it back on. This seemed to resolve the issue; however, this seemed to keep happening every other month. On doing some research on the web, I found that this is a very common problem. Since then we have been doing this ritual every other month to power-off the unit to perform a manual defrost. Since the last such operation, the E RF message pops-up daily and then disappears. The temperature in refrigerator is not cold, resulting in food going bad. On contacting a local appliance repair company and providing the serial number of the unit I was given to understand that a service bulletin from LG indicated that the software on some board needs an upgrade or replacement and a fan panel needed replacement, possibly costing hundreds of dollars. I was also informed that the replacement boards are not in stock and could take weeks. On contacting LG Customer Service, I was provided the solution to perform a manual defrost. For now, Life is not so Good.

We purchased our LG Wave Force top loader model number WT5001CW about 4 1/2 years ago at my local Home Depot for $850. The biggest mistake of our lives. First, the issue with washing blankets, towels etc. The code I think IU or EU pops up and you have to reorganize the blankets and make sure the machine doesnt continue to fill the tub. Sometimes it would take 4 hours to wash my blankets or comforters. Second, the bleach dispenser (I use non-chlorine bleach) seems to always be filled with water. We think the tube is clogged but we are dealing with a more serious issue right now which is my final issue. The third and final issue having dirty clothes come out of my washer after you are supposed to have clean clothes. The delicate cycle does not allow you use to use a lot water so your clothes are not completely covered in water. Then I take out my clothes and find these pieces of dirt and pebbles. Changed all the hoses. Didnt help. Have to shake my clothes of these dirt/pebble pieces then vacuum out my washer to do my next load. We tried to take the bottom plate off and just took off the bolt but the plate is stuck. We did find A LOT of icky stuff on the bolt so we know under the plate is the real issue. Most likely there is build up and needs to be cleaned out. My husband tried to bang it with a mallet to loosen it up and filled it with fabric softer but nothing happens. This washing machine is such a headache and I wish someone would just take it. I dislike it so much. Plus with the recall you cant wash waterproof items, haha. I had the repairman in here about 2 years ago to do what? Not really sure. Please save yourself the headaches and your money. Plus there is a lot plastic components which equals cheap to me.

We purchased the LG French door, bottom freezer about 5 years ago. We spent the extra money because we thought that LG was one of the best at the time. This model has only the water-in-the-door; icemaker in bottom drawer. The salesperson showed us why THIS bottom drawer was better than others with the same idea: the gear-type rollers were more substantial and the slides were larger. The rationale was that it would be more durable. In the past year, the freezer drawer is becoming harder and harder to pull out and/or push in. I have taken the bin out and found grease/graphite on the bottom of the unit and along the left rail. Water from the icemaker also tends to build up as it sometimes drips onto the left rail, making the rolling very difficult. After wiping it out, it seems to be fine for a few hours...then its hard again. We have had it with LG appliances. We had an LG dishwasher that nobody would work on. The LG washer/dryer that we have, are doing OK for now, but the bellows in the bottom of the washer where the water is pumped has cracked twice in 5 years, allowing water to run get on the floor. I should have had a pan put under the washer, but this indicates either bad engineering or bad design.

We bought our LG Refrigerator in 2015 when we built our new house. We spent over 2k on this new refrigerator. It was fine until July 2019. Thats when it suddenly stopped working. LG sent out a service tech to repair the fridge. He replaced the compressor and other interior parts the first time. This did not fix the fridge. He came back out a second time (about a week later) and replaced the fan in the upper part of the fridge. It finally worked. Fast forward to May 2020... The fridge completely stops working again. We unplugged it and left it unplugged for a few hours. After plugging it back in, it started working again. Fast forward to Jan. 2021... Horrible sounds coming from the fan in the top part of the fridge. The next day, the fridge stops working AGAIN!! This is absolutely ridiculous. A $2000 fridge that cannot work properly for even 5 years!! LG should be ashamed of themselves. These fridges were supposed to last at least 20 years and I have already had to have it repaired. It is frustrating having to keep unplugging it and moving it all around to try and get it to work again. Not to mention the food in the fridge and freezer compartments need to be moved or left to spoil.

My boyfriend and I ordered a LG fridge online on June 25th for $1804.13. It was to be delivered on June 30th. My boyfriend left work to meet LG at our house. Two men took the fridge off the truck and out of the box and the back was damaged all smashed. My boyfriend told them we did not want that one and they took it back. LG never contacted us to when a new one would be delivered. I called them (on hold too long) and they told me they could not get another one here until July 11th. I couldnt believe it, I asked why so long and LG said that is the next date a truck could get to my location. I thought since it was their mistake maybe they should go a little out of their way for a customer, but no, there was nothing they could or would do. So 12 days without a fridge. We had to use a cooler just for water, milk and half for our coffee, buying ice constantly. We went out to eat a lot, which is really expensive. It was a nightmare! I called LG again and complained to a Manager/Supervisor and had to go through about an hour on the phone explaining the story over and over until I finally could get them to connect me with a supervisor and he was not very helpful but he finally said once the fridge was delivered LG would send me a check for $100.00 for my troubles, but I had to call back once the fridge was delivered. I asked why I had to wait and he stated that is their policy. I think they want you to forget about it once you get your new fridge. Well I didnt. I called back and asked for the same Supervisor, I did write down his name, Jerold. After being on hold again and explaining my story again to 2 different employees, I finally talk to Jerold and he said they will send me a check in the mail. Now it is Sept 6th and no check came in the mail.I called back LG asked to speak to Jerome, they couldnt get me Jerome, said they have a lot of Supervisors located all over and I would have to speak to whoever picked up my call. I was on hold for 20 minutes. A woman answered. I asked if she was a Supervisor, she said yes then she asked me for my phone # and put me back on hold for 5 min. She came back on the phone and said she didnt see my order. I then told her the whole situation and said maybe she should have asked me what the issue was before she put me on hold so quickly. She told me that there was no Jerome that worked there. I said it was the same # that I previously called, twice. Then I told her that the order was under my boyfriends phone # and I have the order # and the model # and sku #. She wasnt really listening, but looked up my boyfriends # and asked for the model # and said she saw no order for us.I couldnt believe it. The new fridge is in our kitchen that they delivered. I yelled at her, I just couldnt get over the way they treat customers. So I went on the computer and had a live chat on their website. The woman on the computer found the order under my boyfriends phone #. Maybe they should find a better way to keep track of orders (maybe by the order #) but she said that she had spoke to the woman, Supervisor, that I just got off the phone with and there is nothing they could do for me. Then said that they do not have a Jerome that works there and they do not give back any type of reimbursement or refund for bad service or unhappy customers. It is not their policy. I guess it not their policy to keep customers happy. It was their fault I went without a fridge for as long as I did. It was their fault I had to spend a lot more than I should have on food for two weeks, after giving them One Thousand Eight Hundred dollars.I think LG Supervisors do it on purpose, tell you to call back once the fridge is delivered, wait for a check in the mail, all tactics to make you give up. Well I didnt give up and it got me nowhere. LG also tried to say it was a Home Depot issue. Well Home Depot connected me to them, and why did a Supervisor from LG, Jerome, say he would send a check in the mail. I called Home Depot and they said they wouldnt do that, they would have reimbursed some of our payment. I have never been this angry but we spent a lot of money and hassle over this, and it is not over $100.00. It is about the way I was treated.

I tried resetting the wash load by pressing the rinse/spin button thinking it was just a temporary problem and still would not work. Now all it does is make a loud rumbling sound. I called Customer Service and they told me that the rumbling sound was either the rotor or a bearing. This isnt the only problem Ive had with this beautiful, red W/D set. I have been reading many of the disturbing complaints in this forum regarding the LG washer recall and can only add to the frustration expressed here. My parents purchased one of the models that has been recalled (WT5101HV Serial No. 007KWYP02018), about 18 months ago. The machine was acting up, and they just got the letter about 2 months ago. We called LG and scheduled to have a technician come out, and they did the software patch download. This was a joke! It did not fix the problem, instead it only perpetuated it. Now, instead of the wash load spinning rapidly out of balance.... it spins much more slowly and still out of balance! In addition, the wash and rinse cycles still do not work properly. The machine starts the normal wash cycle, and never drains any of the soapy water! Instead, it keeps adding more and more water (just like before). It only drains all of the dirty soapy water (very slowly) at the end of the Full wash/rinse/and softener cycle. And it never properly spins the wet clothes to remove excess dirty water. This process takes 3 times as long as before, and the clothes never come out totally clean. A simple load can take all day to complete! They are ready to Dump the unit in the ocean! Does anyone know if there is any kind of class action or formal legal group that is trying to get LG to make customers whole?

Its so far down that it touches the floor so it gives everyone a backache on top of everything else!!! Sincerely yours, Miriam

My husband and I are teachers and dont make much to begin with, and we are only paid 10 months out of the year. It is our responsibility to be conservative with our money so we often buy in bulk with coupons. Well, last year after we came home from our vacation (not a glamorous one either) to a very hot refrigerator and $400 worth of food that had gone bad, we called and fought with LG customer service who were very rude to us. They refused to replace the food but because it was less than 6 months old and under warranty, they sent someone to fix the problem. Now this summer, we went away again, and came home to a fridge full of moldy food again and another $300 worth of food. At this point, we cannot afford to replace much of it because we wont see another check until the end of September. We were trying to budget and plan ahead. We paid for the extended warranty from PC Richards who has been wonderful thus far. So, they sent someone out to take a look at it, but we were told that this is just a trait of the LGs which have fans that are known to shut down if the food cabin gets too cold and sometimes there is a glitch where the fan wont turn back on again unless the refrigerator is unplugged then plugged in again. So both my husband and I have been on the phone with LG customer service, and they have been nothing but rude. I was told that it was not in the customer service policy to replace the lost food. When I asked them why they had that policy, the supervisor was unable to tell me. She just said that that was their policy. All I asked was why, but she refused to tell me. If I treated the students and parents in my classroom the way LG treated my husband and me, I would be out of a job.

I bought this three years ago after doing a lot of research. I never thought I would need to buy more of a warranty for this unit. Two people and basic regular use it’s not working anymore. I lost all the food in my freezer and likely the fridge. I’ve checked under the unit and checked the coils and the fan is blowing and the air coming out is really not cold. My freezer is approx 40 degrees. Really sucks to spend so much and have nothing three years later. My last was an Amana and lasted a long time! So disappointed????

I spent weeks researching the best W/D to purchase. We purchased top-of-the-line LG washer and dryer in July 2012. Now 8 months after purchase, the dryer stopped heating. We have a technician coming tomorrow but LG representative was sure to make clear that it could be our fault and therefore the repair may not be covered under warranty. Now I have found that many people have had the same problem. It is apparent that LG is aware of a defect. Honestly! We were planning on buying an LG W/D for our 2nd house but not now! Its time to do more research.

The control panel cracked right through the power button within 2 months of it being brand new. Every time you close the door to start a cycle, it flashes its lights and then shuts off. Ive learned to shimmy the door side to side just right before closing it in order to get the cycle to start otherwise it just beeps at you and then shuts off. If it does start the cycle, it only actually finishes it about 50% of the time. You have to clean the trap every single wash - it seems like the screen is too fine and it catches so much itty bitty debris that it clogs it completely. I cant say how much I truly hate this dishwasher! I paid for 3 year warranty and am so annoyed that I have to use it so soon. Cmon LG you bloody crooks make a product that works.

May 2018... My almost 2 year LG French door in black stainless steel stopped cooling. Find out because there was water all over the floor from the ice melting. Lost all my food from fridge and freezer. LG replaced the compressor which lasted 4 days and went out again so of course I lost more food. Had another technician come out and took apart the inside of the refrigerator and found there was a leak. He ordered the new part and LG contacted him and told him it wouldnt be in until the end of July. LG gave me option that they would pay for the remainder value of the refrigerator and deduct the years of use or I would have to keep waiting for the part. I opted to wait for the part because they were only offering me a couple hundred dollars for an almost $3,000 refrigerator. The technician knows that this is an ongoing problem that he has dealt with with many customers around MN. I finally have my refrigerator working as of July 14... Thats 2 months without. Now my worry is for how long??? Another issue is the black stainless steel finish is peeling off of the whole set (microwave, stove, dishwasher, and refrigerator). Tiny pieces are coming off in different areas. I dont know how they can get away with this???

Had to have someone from 75 miles away come, and they were unable to repair after four service calls. Have been in touch with LG---They told us this was the only person around that could work on the refrigerator! Would not buy an LG again because of issues of poor service after the purchase. I purchased my new LG washer and dryer in Sept. of 2016. Several months later we noticed the dryer not heating well. It would not even dry a load in 2 hours. I got use to hanging the clothes, and put towels outside to dry. I had to call LG service 3 different times over a 5 month period. They did everything to avoid sending a repairman over. All they would do was tell me to try something different each time. 1) dont use energy saver 2) lint in dryer 3) coil on back of dryer was too long. Last week I spent over 45 minutes on the phone demanding a repairman. FINALLY one came out. It was the heating element. It was not working. This type of service is unacceptable. This may be a great product. We were just unlucky to receive a defect. Customers are not to be treated as though we are idiots.

Only thing good about LG service is that the quoted price was what I paid even though they replaced 3 major components. This french door fridge (split doors, one fridge drawer and one freezer drawer) was bought in 2015. It has moderate space (the freezer section is a little small). It had to have the compressor and evaporator replaced in December 2018 right before Christmas. Cost of repair was cover by LG. Cost to replace all the food for Christmas that was ruined was covered by me. After that we put a small cheap (freezer on top) fridge in the basement and keep about half our food in it because we were told that this was a known issue and we could not be guaranteed how long before it would need to be fixed again. Its now October of 2019 (10 months later) and the fridge is once again not cooling. A tech is coming to look at it and we didnt lose as much food this time but no one should need two fridges to keep one fridge worth of food cold. I would strongly recommend avoiding LG or any fridge using a linear/inverter compressor. Other brands fridges with lessor warranties may cost less but are often still manufactured by LG with the same technology (which seems to be flawed or poorly manufactured). Our previous fridge was an old and ugly Kenmore but it had kept food cold for 20+ years with nothing but an annual cleaning of the coils.

I purchased an LG French door refrigerator a few years ago. Within a few months, all the plastic inside began to crack. It isnt from abuse. Its not from cleaning with harsh chemicals. Every piece of plastic in the top refrigerator is broken - those on the doors and those holding the glass shelves. The freezer drawers are held on the track with duct tape as the freezer inside is all cracked too. The egg holder is completely cracked also. Looks like dry rot. The parts that allow the drawers to pull in and out also fell apart and/or cracked. I am waiting for the plastic holding the bottom glass shelve which goes along the entire width of the fridge to finish cracking so far this one has a hairline crack.I wrote back and forth to LG who did nothing but tell me they would elevate my complaint higher - but I think they meant lower - as into the trash. It has been 4 months since I gave them my serial number to move the complaint along as they said right away. My entire refrigerator is held together with duct tape. Lucky me that duct tape comes in white now. This is a crime that this company gets away with this. There should be a class action lawsuit. I work hard for my money and this is just unacceptable.

Our $3,500+ super capacity LG refrigerator stopped cooling at the 6 year mark. Several repair attempts have been made in the past month under warranty and at least $2100 in food has spoiled. Weve also spent $370 on floor repairs from water damage leaking from the fridge after the second repair attempt. My fiance and I have been tirelessly working the frontlines 6-7 days a week taking direct care of critically ill COVID patients at hospitals with little time to grocery shop (or sleep) since this pandemic started. For a month now, my family has been eating from our hospitals vending machines or relying on fast food delivery service which has drained our accounts. LGs policy states a maximum of $300 food reimbursement and if our unit is deemed unrepairable even under warranty, we have no option but to pay for junk hauling. After purchasing several high end appliances from LG, this is a huge slap in our faces.

200 characters isnt enough to explain, LG wont offer up they know about the issue and that they extended all warranties on the linear compressor to 5 years. My refrigerator was purchased on Nov. 1, 2017. https://lgcommunity.us.com/discussion/3871/important-lg-refrigerator-warranty-information-announcement-please-read. Opened case with LG support, LG happily said that my refrigerator is under warranty when my LG account for registering my appliances clearly says it is out of warranty. You have to call the number in the link that I added to get the warranty work. Talking with the agent, who was pleasant to speak with, also came back and said that LG will also offer to pick up the cost of the Labor on this call as a complimentary service. Really? It is stated in the warranty that Labor is covered! So much for the fake gesture, is Life Good? Anyway, back to my story. Now that I finally got to the bottom of all this, we have a service ticket generated and the agent is working to confirm a service technician in my area to take the service call, stating we will have someone within 24 hrs. Ok, well we all know by now, 3 days after the refrigerator has stopped cooling and at 61 degrees, all of our food is no longer safe to eat. It is now exactly 24hrs from placing my service call with LG and still no confirmed service technician on the case, when-o-when will my refrigerator cool again? And Ill just leave all discussion about the pandemic going on right now, ugh...As I continue to do more research about this topic, how many of you are aware of the class action suit against LG for this exact issue? ** I guess it pays to do your research. After the cost of a technician to tell me the compressor isnt functioning properly and a hum hum nudge nudge on the shoulder saying check this out, I discovered all this and am now expecting my refrigerator to be fixed for free. Once it is fixed I have to ask one more question. Is the new compressor covered by a 5 year warranty from the day it was installed, it should be! After all, we all know that this compressor will also fail within the next 36 months, give or take. This is the second generation linear compressor and LG has yet to fix its know issues, I am not aware of a 3rd generation compressor coming out any time soon. If you continue to research you will find that LG has already gone through a class action suit for this same issue on compressors prior to these. I hope this was some what helpful to anyone reading this and doing their own research into an LG refrigerator. Anyone looking for a French Door Refrigerator? I have one for sale!

Bought this $2600.00 LG refrigerator 1 1/2 years ago and of course it breaks 6 months after warranty expiration. Theres only one servicer in our area. They came to diagnose the problem right away the week before July 4th and company is coming. They ordered the parts from LG but after no contact with them for days we finally called them and they inform us that the parts (Compressor and board) are on back order for 4 weeks (JULY 21st). The back order date is four weeks out!! And we lost over $50.00 in food. Thank god it wasnt more!!We had to buy a Samsung floor model (Cheaper) to get us by and not lose more food. Every time I call to get an update because no one calls us back, I get a foreign speaking person I can hardly understand and placed on hold for 10-50 Minutes!!! I have been told that there are at least 9 people in our area (Valdosta Ga) with this exact same issue with their LG refrigerators!! This is not acceptable! There are a few in a worse circumstance than us, such as an elder couple that just had open heart surgery and no refrigerator now! A single mother with 5 children to feed. Now the only service company in our area doesnt seem to know where the board is and LG says it was delivered! Let’s see. So my French door fridge (model # LFC25770SB) is only 2 years old. Weve had it since May 2010. It was bought brand new from Home Depot for our new home. It has worked fine until 11/14/2012. I came home from work and the entire bottom cavity (freezer) was thawed out and everything completely ruined (my Thanksgiving meal, since we went shopping a few days prior)! The freezer isn’t keeping anything cold, so therefore neither is the fridge! The fridge was 47 degrees when I got home! I called LG on their emergency line the night it happened and was told that the food that I lost would be covered in part. Not the case! They refused to cover anything. I have to wait up to 3 weeks for a new part, which I have to pay out of pocket for, and the labor that is included in fixing this part! Needless to say, a 2-year-old fridge was obviously a piece of **! I lost over $500 in groceries, not to mention the insulin that I had in the fridge because I’m a diabetic! LG lost this customer! And I doubt they will care to do anything! All they say is they are sorry! Must not really be sorry, because I should have gotten a reimbursement for some of the product lost because of their ** appliance that broke after, seriously, only 2 years! Do something LG!

I purchased an LG Washing machine with the pedestal back in April of 2010 for $1,309.95 from P.C. Richards. After 3-years and 4-months, my machine stopped spinning and had a loud squeaking noise. I paid about $400.00 in repairs at that time for a power cord and the computer control panel which completely burnt out. After the P.C. Richards Repair Man left, I washed exactly 2-loads of clothes before the washer stopped spinning and I had to call the Repair man back from P.C. Richards to find out what the problem was. Well after the 4th visit from P.C. Richards Repair Men, I was told that a Ball Barren was missing and it would be a very expensive job to do. With that being said, I went for a second opinion and was told that was indeed the problem which would cost me $500.00 to repair. You know when people purchase expensive appliances like washers and dryers from Manufacturers like LG, they expect the product to last at least 10 to 15 years. I am deeply disgusted and appalled. What can I do to seek punitive damages? I am a working mother of 3 and am at a hardship to make ends meet and cannot afford a new washer right now which I was told by the repairman I should purchase a new machine. In TEARS, can someone help me please?

I will avoid all LG products like the plague from now on! My smart top loading washer (recommended by Consumer Reports at the time) repeatedly gave the UE error. I called LG Customer Service for solutions to the problem. Their recommendation was to add/remove clothing to balance the load. Thats all the advice they had to offer. (Im sorry that I didnt have more dirty clothing to wash at that time. Apparently, they expected me to pull clean clothes out of my closet to balance the load!) When I operated the washer with no clothing in the machine, I realized the problem was with the washer - not my loading technique. After my water bill TRIPLED because of the huge amount of water used to attempt to balance the loads, I requested a service call. The technician informed me that the problem was due to a KNOWN software issue and all that was needed to fix the problem was a software update. I have no issue with this. What I do have an issue with is that LG Electronics failed to form consumers of this simple fix! Apparently, LG Electronics doesnt care about consumers- they just like to sell products. After returning home from a 4 day trip my wife and I noticed that our frozen food was thawing out on our freezer. I checked our temperature settings to make sure that they were correct and watched to see if maybe our freezer was going through a defrost cycle. It wasn’t and the next day we had to remove our food to another refrigerator that we have so the food didn’t spoil. I contacted LG support and set up an appointment for service which was several days later. The technician came out and diagnosed a bad compressor and coils which he replaced. It took a couple of days before the ice maker even started to make ice again and thought that was strange but everything in the freezer froze so we thought we were good. After about 3 weeks we noticed that everything was thawing again and I contacted the technician directly and told him what was happening. He came out again and checked my unit and found a pinhole that caused the Freon to leak out. He repaired it and all was well until about a week ago we noticed that our ice cream was turning into milkshakes so I called the technician again and he came out and checked our refrigerator and told my wife that there was nothing wrong with it according to what his computer readouts said. By the next morning the frozen food in the freezer was thawed out and we had a large puddle of water on the floor from the upper ice maker thawing out and the water from the ice running all over the floor. I sent the technician a text and he told me that there was nothing he could do and that I needed to call customer support and file for a new repair order because he said he couldn’t figure out what was wrong. I sent him the pics I have attached and he said that ambient air temps won’t give correct readings to which I responded that the temp readings were off the walls of the refrigerator and freezer compartments. No response back on that comment.I have a different LG technician scheduled to come out tomorrow to evaluate our situation and hopefully he can fix it or get us replacement refrigerator because this one apparently defective. By the way, the refrigerator that we have had to move our food into is a GE Profile that we have had for over 15 years and have never had an issue with.

We have been having a cooling issues with our LG French Door Refrigerator. We called the 800 243 0000 number a few times. The first time, the associate asked us to reset the unit and wait for 24 hrs. After the unit failed to reset, we called the number since the unit is under warranty. We were told LG does not have service technicians in our area and we will have to go through an authorized service center. The first service center refused to work with us saying they need the original sales receipt even after LG promised to cover the parts. The authorized service center then called me to give an estimate of $1500 without even looking at the unit. After we called LG service to help us find a technician or another service center, the LG executive response team member set me up with another authorized service center, who set up an appointment after LG provided an authorization. We waited for a week for the appointment, only to have the service call and inform us that they made a mistake and will not service LG units. This is after the LG associate was on a conference call with us and the service center a week ago. So after two week of waiting we have no resolution in sight and LG customer service keeps giving us the runaround. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE LG PRODUCTS.

Sadly, I love the range, the oven (LSE4613ST slide in range), it is all beautiful... BUT it is an accident waiting to happen. It has been a little over a year since I purchased the range. About the same time last year I had friends staying in my place after their rental was sold out from under them. I stayed with a friend. One day I got a call from them telling me that they are not sure what happened, but one of the stoves burners turned on by itself. It was a mystery and hard to believe so we figured someone forgot to turn it off after using. The next time it happened a towel caught on fire, and we were thinking a Poltergeist (I teased her). One day by total accident they discovered that all they had to do was brush against any one of the burner knobs and the element would go on. I called LG but wasnt able to get any assistance from them. All they said was it is not a known issue and apologized for not being able to help. I called Home Depot where I purchased it. The lady was very helpful and gave me the number to the LG guy that does repair work for Home Depot LG products. The technician stated that the knobs coming on with the slightest touch was a known issue and he would like to do an upgrade. The upgrade was at no charge. He replace the entire heat knob assembly that was suppose to make the knobs have to be pushed in a ways before you could turn it. I was ecstatic! My friends finally found a home of their own and will be moving soon. My friends Aunt was over there helping her pack dishware and was using the stove top to do it because there was no place to sit. My friend said she smelled smoke and ran over just in time to see the burner had just come on and was starting to burn the newspaper. My friends Aunt does have a little bit of a tummy on her, so they figured she had pushed the knob in by accident. Obviously the upgrade did not fix it. I guess my friend and her husband had been scared to get too close to the stove, even after it was fixed, so that had prevented any more fires. Now I am going to have to get another stove or be reimbursed for this one. I doubt that will happen. But yes, I am surprised we havent heard of someone getting really hurt by this stove.

My LG refrigerator LFC23760SW started breaking after a few months of normal use (we dont have any children at home), just my husband and I and we take care of our things. Purchased in 2009 and the problems with this piece of expensive junk (which cost around $2000) started fairly soon. All the shelves have literately fallen apart. Just placing an item on one of the main shelves caused it to break on both sides so I had to remove it. Now we have almost no shelves left in this horrible excuse for an appliance. I bought my LG appliances not quite 3 years ago. I did my whole kitchen, refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, washer & dryer. They were very expensive. I thought I was buying the best. I bought them from HH Gregg. First mistake. They went out of business shortly after. I never received pedestals for washer and dryer, they owed me $150 back but of course I never saw that. The appliances are junk. Microwave is convection but has burn marks on side from first use. Dishwasher wheels fell off right away. Getting dishes in and out almost impossible unless I get halfway in it. I rarely use it because its a pain. My refrigerator compressor went out the beginning of June 2019. LG uses a company called A&E for repairs. When I called them they told me they only had one technician in my area. I finally got my refrigerator fixed today. September 11, 2019. The compressor was fixed 2 weeks ago but the day after it was fixed the icemaker went. I went without a refrigerator for two months and without ice for over 3 months. I have had to buy bagged ice for 3 months.I finally had enough with A&E and the rudeness I dealt with there. I refused them to do the repairs. LG said they got someone else to do the repairs, only thing is they never called him to set up for repairs to be done. Not once but twice. Thankfully I had his number and he made time to fix the refrigerator. His company is called Umbrella appliance repair and his name is Said. Not sure of last name. He is from Williamsburg VA. I would recommend him and give him the highest respect. He came even though they didnt call him like they said not once but twice, they had me wait all day and he didnt even know he was supposed to be here to do repairs. He worked until after 8 p.m.My husband passed away 3 yrs. ago, the person that took my info got it wrong and somehow when they sent the parts to my house, parts I didnt know were coming, came in my dead husbands name. Can you imagine getting a pkg. on your front steps with your deceased spouses information on it. Also during all of this mess my mother passed away. I had family coming in from all over the country and no refrigerator to keep food and no way to make ice. I had people here from Wisconsin, California and Pennsylvania. This has been a nightmare I wouldnt wish on anyone. Over 2 months without a refrigerator 3 months without my icemaker. LG should be ashamed. I would never recommend them to anyone and I promise I will never buy LG products again. The worst customer service ever, from LG and A & E repair services. Debbie **

LG REFRIGERATOR LMXS30776 - Back again...after 1 month of compressor being replaced, after a month to obtain part, now there are leaks in the coils. At what point should this piece of metal be replaced! Paid $3,000.00 for this item and have only had 2 years. Trying to get it repaired with the extended warranty cost me missed work and money, food and money to eat out until repaired. 1 month later I am back at square one. I have pictures of food lost and a man in my refrigerator trying to figure it out. Who and when will LG step up and get me a new refrigerator! Additional, my husband had to assist with remove parts and pulling out the refrigerator. Something I could not have done. I AM READY FOR A REPLACEMENT!

Updated on 06/25/2020: I posted here on June 6 about my less than 2 year old LG French door refrigerator compressor failure. LG responded that they would resolve the issue with me. After much back and forth, they did not send me the promised email for resolution. I hope that by posting this, someone will respond and help me resolve my issue.Original Review: Bought this fancy LG in May 2018 for 2500.00 from Lowe’s. In March 2020 compressor goes out. I am still waiting for the compressor to arrive and today is June 6. I am on my fourth month with no refrigerator. Do not buy an LG refrigerator. I wish I never did!

My wife purchased our new LG refrigerator (linear compressor) unit 2 years
My wife purchased our new LG refrigerator (linear compressor) unit 2 years ago from Home Depot. We purchased the extended warranty, against my feelings, and am glad we did as the unit failed after only 2 years! Trying to contact LG is next to impossible. I then called the warranty service, this is also a joke as they say they cant have anyone out for over 2 weeks. This refrigerator has a class action lawsuit out on it as I find out, but LG only replaces the compressor with the same thing! To make matters worse, I had just come back from a hunting trip, and loaded the freezer up with two deer. I have now lost everything. So now, I am out all my food, and I cant even get a working refrigerator for at least 2 weeks? I no longer even want this junk appliance, but, they refuse to credit me, or take the unit back! This is unacceptable for such a major company. I will NEVER recommend, or purchase anything made by LG again!

We purchased our LGLFXS30766503 refrigerator less than 2 years ago. At the time it was the middle of July, all refrigerators were out of stock, and this model could get to us the quickest. It was not our first choice. We have had it repaired now 3 times in the past 8 months, all for the same cooling problem. The last repair they completely rebuilt the cooling system. It has been less than two weeks and it is now not cooling again. I have spent countless hours of my time, thousands of dollars to replace groceries, all for a $2,500.00 refrigerator we did not want in the first place! I have not received reimbursement for said groceries, which is part of my warranty. I do not have confidence in the abilities of LG staff or technicians. At this point I will accept nothing less than a brand new unit. I refuse to think, with todays technology a high end appliance should perform this way. Our previous Kenmore refrigerator needed zero repairs ever, and we had it for 20 years! I am extremely frustrated to say the least. I will never buy another LG appliance, and I will tell everyone I know my experience. Lifes NOT Good!

I own an LG refrigerator (model number LR FD 22850 SW), French doors style and with a freezer on the bottom. One day my wife called me and said that the fridge is running hot and the lights stay on, even with the doors closed. I told her to disconnect the power and remove the light bulbs, until I get home. I later found out that the light sockets were very dark and burnt. The plastic lens cover and plastic base were also melted by the light bulbs. I got replacements from Sears’ parts website. I got them the very next day, and replaced all bad parts. After four hours, the fridge started to get hot again--the same problem. I had placed a thermometer inside to monitor the temperature while it had no lights. The temperature was steady at 37 degrees. Four hours later, with the lights on, the temperature reading was 89 degrees. Lots of foods were spoiled, and the plastic parts melted again. So far I have removed the lights, and the temperature is going back to normal. I believe I am not the only one with this defective appliance.

Purchased our LG LFX28968ST French Door Fridge (SS) and spent over $2K to have the compressor stop working and we lost hundreds of dollars in food and condiments. I tried to call the authorized repair person in my area who they gave me and never received a callback. I guess I am lucky I have tile floors and did not have water damage like some people have experienced. So now that I have cleaned out my fridge I am sitting on hold with LG customer service for about 15 minutes already and they still do not have any answers. Telling me that someone will call me back in 24-48 hours, meanwhile I am sitting with an empty fridge and the closest store is 12 miles from our house to get ice (not to mention the time). So now they are sending me a form and said to send in my proof of purchase for the Fridge (which I have and will do) but they said they will extend the warranty to cover the parts and labor. Lets see if this is honored.

So no big surprise based upon the various reviews concerning LG refrigerator performance. Yes our LG refrigerator stopped working so we called a local repairmen who diagnosis the issue as a compressor failure (which seems to be a common problem), but due to the labor cost and after considerable effort we got LG to send their own technician to come out on their cost to fix the problem. The technician was great and after repairing the compressor and the evaporator (also faulty) we thought all was good. Unfortunately the fridge still didnt work so he returned and after numerous hours and effort he informed us that oil had entered into the lines and there was nothing else to do but submit a request to LG for a reimbursement. We are currently waiting and cannot get any info concerning our status and whether we should keep the fridge to return and that reimbursement process may take up to 4 to 6 weeks for a prorated reimbursement amount. So we have already have waited six weeks without a fridge and will potentially need to wait another six weeks before we have closure and honestly Im not too optimistic based upon the length of time and the ambiguity that each person gives us on the phone. Although each customer service rep is nice it is unfortunate that LG does not give the autonomy to make a decision even when their own repairmen have given forth their assessment. I realize that products fail but when there is an obvious trend LG should be fast recognize and not strong their patrons along. Its just bad business.

We replaced older but well-functioning washer and dryer with the upright LG
We replaced older but well-functioning washer and dryer with the upright LG. We were told by the salespersons that this was the best although expensive system. The research we read also led us to believe we were making a great investment. Wrong! The smell and mold that builds up is unbearable. Our room downstairs smells moldy ever since we began using our machine. The washer shakes horribly. We also had an LG serviceman come twice. We paid for his time, travel and service to adjust the legs of the machine. It still shakes and now leaks. Of course, this all started happening once the year warranty expired. When I contacted the LG company directly about the problems, I was directed to use the LG service repair. Beyond disappointed and frustrated. We are worried about the negative impact we may experience with our health with the constant mold that continues to plague the machine. After reading all the logs, something needs to be done about this problem! LG WM2233HW.

LG French Door Refrigerator LFX28968ST - Life is NOT good with this particular fridge. Before warranty was over the plastic shelves on door began cracking and chipping, the ice maker in the door does not work. It freezes up and does not crush ice, and you cannot remove the bucket that the ice drops into. Doors do not closed tightly. Bad design, bad mechanism. The stainless steel doors, are made of a very low grade Stainless steel, does not clean properly. Bought refrigerator because older side by side GE failed after 20 years, thought I was upgrading my fridge with the LG. WRONG. I would never purchase any LG product based on my experience with the Refrigerator.

Price was the best. Delivery was fast. Old refrigerator was taken. Size of compartments were good. Design is nice. Cost is excellent. Different compartments for easy access to food and drinks color choices and size available were also taken into consideration. Ice maker which breaks mine has been repaired at least five times since purchased.

Just turned 5 yrs old and we are anxiously awaiting the third compressor. Temperature fluctuates between 36 and 60. Beautiful and interior lights are great but not to be trusted! LG has offered to pay for a mini fridge. It helps but going on 4 weeks now and this is a headache trying to cook dinner and figuring out where my ingredients are! Back porch in mini, kitchen in the mini, laundry room freezer, or the LG which houses the non-temperature sensitive items. Would never buy another LG!

We purchased a four unit package. Refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and stove. The other units are great but the ovens (both top and bottom) fluctuate so much in temperatures that it takes fifteen/twenty minutes longer to bake anything and then it comes out dry and hard. A service technician replaced the control board but failed to check if it fixed the problem. I purchased a digital oven temperature probe to check it myself. It overshoots the temperature by ten to fifteen degrees and then drops fifteen to twenty degrees before it kicks back on. This cycle continued for over two hours until I finally gave up in disgust.

We purchased an LG French door with freezer drawer in bottom. Have had problems with mold developing along the door gaskets as doors do not closed properly. Yesterday, there was an odor that smelled like burning plastic. It smelled like some electrical insulation was burning. The smell diminished, but this morning we discovered that the electrical cord was burning at the outlet. I called the service contract people and was told that the electric cord was not covered, that if they sent someone out it would cost $100.00+. Drove to the local HHGregg store where we purchased it originally and spoke with the manager, which was as helpful as talking to the service provider. In my opinion, both Gregg and the service provider are dishonest about their policy coverage. It appears that I am not alone with this problem.

Do not buy a washing machine from LG. You will regret it. I have seen nothing, but issues. After 2 years of owning one we started to have issues. 2 years! UE and OE messages would pop up and stop the cycle. Wasting tons of water and costing us a lot of time. Took me twice as long to wash things. I was able to make it work for about 2 years. Only washing things at night after work. Now the machine cant make it 5 mins without stopping the cycle. The LG site bounces you around and makes it very hard to try and request a repair. Their call line does the same thing. Came to this site and saw that many people have experienced the same issues. Very frustrating. I will never buy another LG product again.

Will NEVER, ever buy any LG product ever AGAIN. LG stands for Lousy Garbage
Will NEVER, ever buy any LG product ever AGAIN. LG stands for Lousy Garbage. Bought it from Sears 2 years ago with a 5 year extended warranty. Broke down 2 years to the day from when I took delivery. There were ongoing problems with UE (Unbalanced Load) errors. Loads took 2-plus hours to run and fabric was left coated with soap. Parts required for the repair were not available and then a part was back-ordered from the manufacturer. The repair is going to be a 2 man job. Sears couldnt do anything because it was extended warranty even though the repairman showed up in a Sears truck. I demanded a replacement washer and was told only the technician can authorize it. They refused to give me contact information for the technician. Nothing but platitudes and the runaround from Customer Dis-service.Total time without a working LG washer: 5 weeks. Unacceptable. Bought a Huebsch Commercial washer. Loads are done with 2 rinses in 35 minutes. It cost extra but this thing is built like a tank. Comes with a 15 year warranty on the transmission, 5 year warranty on the motor and 3 year total warranty. LG is only 1 year. This washer will probably be good for 20-25 years.

We purchased our $3,000 fridge at Sears in 2016 before they went out of bus
We purchased our $3,000 fridge at Sears in 2016 before they went out of business. While it is a Kenmore sold by Sears, it is actually a fridge built by LG for Sears. So the fridge is basically 4 years old and the freezer has stopped working. With Sears bankruptcy, I have no warranty. I understand that, but LG is unable to provide a qualified service agent that is still in business. All service agents I have called have indicated that LG is proprietary and I need a LG technician. Totally unacceptable. Besides the service issue, breakdown so quickly is a problem. If you are buying new, I would recommend sticking with manufacturers that specialize in kitchen appliances, not TVs and computers. I wont make that mistake again.
