Purchased refrigerator in 2012, LFX31925ST. Start with pros. Purchase for the large space and front features. I have purchased many of LG products. The customer service is ok, but they dont stand by their product... From day one I had an issue with the ice maker followed by the motor make noise. Not to mention the glide server drawer stopped sliding, it seems like the cheap plastic wheel broke off. Well they came out to service motor, but said ice maker was not part the warranty! They replaced the motor, but two years later the unit stopped cooling and freezing. Guess what?? The motor stopped. I called for the same issue. They want charge for service $400. I had the product for only 5 years and already is giving out like its 20 years old. What makes it worst is they dont stand by their product. Dont be fooled by their 10-year warranty. It only covers parts, they will squeeze cost out of the service charge.

I purchased my LG front load washer 2 and 1/2 years ago from Home Depot. I did not purchase the extended warranty as I feel that if it is a good product, I should not have to. The motor is out of it already and it will cost me half of what I originally paid for the washer to have it repaired. I am very dissatisfied and would not recommend this product to anyone.

We bought our French door refrigerator around December of 2018 when we purchased our new house. We have loved our unit until one day both of the coils for the fridge and freezer part went out. I placed a repair order in August of 2020. LG outsourced the repair work to a local repair shop which was fine. Here it is 10/25/2020 and we are still without a refrigerator. I have contacted LG and the repair company numerous times and nothing is being done about it. LG has basically washed their hands of the whole situation and put it on the backs of the repair company. I got tired of waiting for the refrigerator to be repaired because we have a large family (family of 8); I called LG back once more and requested LG to replace or refund the money from the initial purchase. Since then we are going on 2 weeks and I have still yet to hear from LG as to what the decision is on replacing it or refunding the money. We was happy with the unit while it was working but since then it has been a complete nightmare and I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LG PRODUCT AGAIN IN MY LIFE because of this incident. I hope my review helps clear the air up for anyone thinking about making a purchase of a LG product.

My LG Inverted Direct Drive Dishwasher is 9 months old. Fortunately, I have had no serious problems with my dishwasher, however, it doesnt clean very well (Dishes have to be washed before hand) and it takes 2 to 3 hours to wash. I have a large family so we have to run several loads daily, this machine takes up too much of my time. Another complaint I have is it has a lock on it to lock the keys but it doesnt lock the power button so my baby turns it off in the middle of cycle. This is even more frustrating because it takes another 2 to 3 hours to cycle. I wish I would have kept my $200 Hotpoint - it was much better.

We purchased an LG top-load washing machine in early Dec. We waited until Valentines Day for it to be delivered! A new machine was needed after 15 years of washing 4 athletic boys & a construction working husbands clothes! Our trusty Maytag front-load machines were going out. I wanted to buy new Maytag machines but I got talked into LG by the salesperson & fellow customers. I will just state now how truly sorry I am for being swayed into that decision because it was 1 of the worst choices Ive made. I cannot stand this machine! Im not exaggerating when I say my clothes come out of the machine dirtier than when I put them in! The clothes dont even get covered in water! I know theyre environmentally friendly, but even when you use the water plus option there should not enough water to get all the clothes wet! I have to physically get my arms in the machine & agitate the clothes.I called the store we purchased them from and of course since they are used they wont return them. I call LG, whose customer service is in a foreign country and the guy proceeds to tell me in a heavy accent that I dont know how to use the washing machine. Its user error. He didnt believe me that the clothes werent washing and continued to argue with me that I didnt read the manual. I asked what we could do to solve this problem & he told me theres nothing they can do. LG... Lifes good... NOT if you own an LG appliance! If you do buy an LG machine make sure you also buy a washboard! Youre going to need it if you want any of your laundry to be clean!

This is the second microwave of this model. The first one worked fine for a year - until a few days after the warranty ran out. It was cheaper to buy a new one than to have it repaired, so we bought a new one because it matched the rest of our LG appliances. This one lasted less than 3 months. Home Depot requires 3 repair attempts before they wil take it back (even though we have the extended service plan on this one), so we got in touch with LG again. The same repair man came out and took it apart and put it back together again, saying he couldnt find what the problem was. It worked after that - for 1 day. When I called the repair company again, the tech said he would contact LG for us and get it taken care of. He did contact them, but we have only heard from them once to request more paperwork. Still waiting for the follow-up call a week later to get a refund. I will never buy another LG microwave. Very disappointed in their customer service.

We are having a problem with our ice maker. The dispenser flap fails to close and the ice freezes into a lump and plugs the discharge chute. The refrigerator is less than 5 years old and the parts to repair the problem are no longer available according to the LG tech who came out. Further they charged us $125 for the call to tell us they cant fix the problem. This is our last LG purchase.

It was a very simple fridge without a water spout or anything like that. I liked that it has a lot of fridge space, there were many shelves and even door space. The light was nice and bridge and high enough that the food didnt cover it or a tall drink didnt get in the way of the light. It had adjustable temperature settings that didnt freeze the stuff in the fridge or leave the stuff in the freezer half frozen. I disliked the amount of freezer space, it left a lot to be desired, it was two shelves that were like baskets and slid out if something fell behind the basket. It was very hard to get and extremely hard to clean out. The basket design was a big flop. Yes I can complain about the fridge section whatsoever and that was my main concern since most people generally use the fridge portion of their refrigeration unit the most and the freezer is generally built much smaller for lesser needs. Most people I know eat fresh food more often than frozen food.

Purchased a double oven model # LDG3035ST/01, within the first year the top oven kept giving a F9 and F11 code and the oven wouldn’t heat past 100 degrees-so we started only using the bottom oven which now gives us the same code. We basically only use our range for the cooktop. So disappointing and we never will buy a LG product.

Updated on 3/30/2020: So after a good amount of time I thought maybe maybe our problems with this LG fridge was over. LG sent out a repairman who was a nice guy and over two appointments he attempted to fix the problems. And now a week or maybe two weeks later it’s so much worse. Now after correcting the ice maker issue by adapting or changing lines from the freezer to the ice maker and doing something else with the freezer motor or what have you, we notice this morning water leaking from the door where the ice maker is located. After trying to clean up the water we realize it’s not cold in the ice maker compartment and then realize the freezer is not working and half the contents are thawed or half thawed. It must have been happening during the night at some point. Now we have all this food about to ruin soon. This fridge is a nightmare. It has been 4 years of hell. It is just a waste of almost $4,000 dollars!Original Review: I had many LG products when I bought my $4,000 fridge. I was so excited and for us that’s an expensive purchase. Within a year the problems started. We’ve had the fridge fail several times including the famous linear compressor problem now in class action suit. But water runs inside the walls and freezes in the middle drawer chiller section. It rusts the wheels or rollers and now we can’t use the middle drawer. Not a crisper drawer inside but the big whole drawer in the middle which costs you another 1k to have the 4 drawer fridge. It’s useless. They can’t find the parts for the back wheels. The front ones don’t fit. They’ve sent out repair people which we have to pay for and they’ve sent out a dozen parts all of which don’t work and we pay for. We’ve been dealing with customer service supervisor Alexandra ** for 6 months and she can’t or won’t get anything done. LG is a scam company stealing money from consumers!!!

Updated on 05/30/2020: As I stated in previous review this dishwasher has a manufacturing problem and LG refuses to do anything because it been too long!! It was made without railing on the bottom and thats why the basket keeps falling inside the machine. To refresh, they sent me about a year ago 2 new baskets, which of course didnt help. I dont know anything about machinery so I wasnt aware of the problem. A very nice problem resolver named Sean called and took pictures and told me what the problem was in the manufacturing and that he would resolve my problem and would be calling me in 1 HOUR. Well, its been 5 days and NO CALL!! Each time I have called customer service for an update they get snooty with me and keep giving me the run around. I WILL NOT be purchasing anymore LG products they do not stand by their products. For Sean who said he would help go to hell!!Original Review: LG makes an excellent washer with the exception of my lower basket. From day one Ive had a problem with it and LG sent me another one and it lasted less than 1 year. The bottom basket falls off the runner constantly and I am a senior that would prefer not to have to lift the entire basket filled with dishes to try to push it backside the washer. The model # is LDT9965BD and I bought it a Best Buy and Best Buy refused to help me. So Ive had this washer for 3 years and everyday the same problem. If I could buy another dishwasher I would. Also the things on the top and bottom move and I have to keep adjusting them and the utensil holder is a problem as it breaks apart and now is permanently broken. I could live with the others things. Its the bottom basket running off the rails everyday that is challenging. LG will not resolve this issue so I live with this aggravation on a daily basis.

Updated on 11/08/2019: Have had an ongoing problem with a compressor on an LG refrigerator that is 5 years old and no it out. When the service tech came out on 10/24, the unit was eligible to be fixed free of charge, (which they told me would cost hundreds of dollars). When I complained to LG via ConsumerAffairs, they posted this response on 11/07. When I called them today to inquire about getting it fixed free, they said that now that is was November, we no longer qualified since it was now more than 5 years old, (by 7 days since it was manufactured in October of 2014). Why would they tell me this and then recant it? See screenshot below.... Beware of LG Refrigerators and LG in total, I have two of these refrigerators and their TVs.Original Review: The compressor on our LG refrigerator went out after just 5 years, although its under warranty, it doesnt cover Labor which turn out is several hundred dollars. In addition, it takes weeks to get the parts, not fun when your fridge is down for several weeks. I have two LG refrigerators that we spent more than $2,000 for each....terrible investment. Beware of LG refrigerators.

I have owned my LG French door refrigerator for 18 months and have had two problems with the icemaker. The first problem happened during the warranty and was covered. The ice bin plastic broke off and plastic bits were dispensed with ice. The second problem is that the icemaker is completely broken and needs to be replaced. I used the live chat on the web site and they walked me through a number of steps, but in the end, it needs to be replaced. Its over $300 after owning it for 18 months. I am not happy. My last refrigerator lasted 20 years with not one repair.

The dryer stopped drying and it’s just a few weeks out of the manufacturer’s warranty. I called the extended warranty that I purchased and they sent a tech out. He said the heating unit needed to be replaced and ordered a new one; but in the meantime, he did something to get it heating and the dryer worked fine for the week. He came yesterday to replace the heating unit, but now he claims that the power cord is fried and I need to call an electrician. This dryer worked perfectly fine with the power cord and the outlet up until yesterday when he attempted to replace the heating unit. LG insists that they cannot give me any information because it’s out of warranty and that I must instead deal with the extended warranty company. So I guess it’s okay to take my money when I have a dryer that does not work one year later and have to pay an electrician? Does it seem reasonable that a dryer works properly and is kept in good working order and used in the manner in which it is intended and immediately after a tech attempts to install a new heating mechanism, it suddenly blows and the power cord is melted? Everyone is passing it back to me that I have to get an electrician. No, I think LG has a problem with heating mechanisms and the tech did something incorrectly.

I purchased a new LG washer WT1201CW and dryer DLEY1201W when we moved to a new home recently. In all my 50 years washing clothes, I have never had such a poorly designed machine. The washer is so deep that I have to half hang inside the machine to reach the clothes at the bottom (I am 54). The machine doesnt fill with enough water to sufficiently clean the clothes and I end up with spots and streaks. The dryer also performs poorly, not fluffing the clothes and bunching them so they end up wrinkled. I am very dissatisfied and will never purchase anything from LG again.Updated on 05/25/2016: I received a reply with only a portion of my complaint answered and the answer was ridiculous. I am posting this to warn others, dont purchase a top loading washer and matching dryer from LG. Purchased a very expensive LG washing machine. The leak had been ongoing for a couple of years and was caused by a very cheap neoprene gasket (20p to replace) behind the soap draw, this in turn leaked onto the main PCB at the bottom front left of the machine causing this board to fail with a loud bang. The reason why I am not going to buy an LG appliance again is two fold. Very well made appliance (mostly) yet a small cheap component failed after just 2 years which then lead to a major component failure with no real noticeable warning. Replacement parts are as expensive as a new cheaper machine. Customer services is diabolical I had to email the UK CEO just to get customer services to call me back and yes of course the problem was denied (despite many other cases on the internet) as a known fault. Conclusion buy 3 cheaper machines for the price of 1 LG......... SIMPLES. This is known by LG customer services yet they choose to deny its a known problem.

Ive owned this LG washing machine and dryer for about 2 years now. I found that if I dont overload the machine, it cleans the clothes fairly well. I do think the amount of water used is too small. Its just not sufficient enough to soak into the clothes to loosen the dirt and odors. The odor is the sign that it needs to be reprogrammed for more water. When it was programmed for the amount of water it uses now, the engineers lengthened the washing cycle, which increases electricity use. Lengthen the cycle did not cause the clothes to get cleaner. More water is the key and maybe a redo of the soap used in cleaning the clothes. Either way there must be an adjustment. Lets hope they listen eventually or they will lose sales big time. My sister has the same problem with her front load machine. The dryer is just fine, great. You just have to take my word for it. Pictures wont give you the smell and why would I lie about a purchase that I paid over a thousand dollars to buy?

I bought an LG washer and dryer based on consumer reports/reviews, but I was sorely disappointed. Number 1 problem: Any and all clothing regardless of age, material content, or color emerges from the wash cycle looking like **. I never ever have experienced such rapid and profound deterioration of clothing and linens! It is heartbreaking to see my familys entire wardrobe worn away to the point where I am embarrassed to dress my children. These were items which looked brand new with repeated washing in my old machine and brand new high quality clothing never worn by anyone yet ever! It has extreme wash wear even with minimal HE detergent in a medium size load with extra water and slow spin speed on delicate ones. In addition, when it arrived, it was poorly color matched so the two appliances looked awful side by side (one crisp white and one grayish white). For the first week of washing, the machine stank like chemicals and it transferred to the clothing/linens. I managed to clear that up with repeated scrubbing of the gasket and religious maintenance schedule of hot bleach washes, leaving the door and detergent drawer open at all times when not in use. It was way too much work and heartbreak, especially considering the positive recommendations it gets from consumer sites and the price to buy it!

In talking to the tech, evidently, this is a common issue with these products and costs around $450-$500 to repair. I considered fixing it myself, but the expense of the part(s) and special tools required made it not viable. As a mechanical engineer, there is no way this device should fail so quickly. We do maybe 6 loads of wash/week of normal clothes and towels. Bottom line, I will NEVER buy LG again!!! That includes phones and electronics. We just purchased and old school agitator machine from a domestic manufacturer. AND when in the market for a flat screen TV and phone, didnt even consider LG!

Ive been married to my wife for 43 years and suddenly after buying the LG washing machine our clothes come out of the wash dirty. This has never happened before. LG is absolutely no help with the problem. Do not buy one of their washers, they are worthless. I have to rinse some of my clothes out by hand when they come out of the machine. Do not buy their products, expensive worthless pieces of equipment.

This product I paid $854.99 plus taxes and is upsetting to know this washer is done forever. I purchased on May 3, 2012 at Best Buy. I contact Best Buy they cant do anything about it because I dont have the protection plan. Really for a new washer, my grandmas washer is 15 years old and works fine. My husband contact LG they cant do anything about it because the warranty expired within one year of the date of purchase. So we contact Sears for $200. They came over to do the diagnostic so basically the top computer is outdated, running on the wrong setting, needs to be updated and we need to buy the top setting which is $500.00 plus labor work!!! So if we do this means we basically expending $800.00 if you do the math. DONT BUY LG.

I was cleaning the exterior of my LG washer WM2701H with a soft dry dishtowel and the printing around the dial wiped off. Never in my life have I had any appliance that I have cleaned on the outside that the printing just wiped off. I was not using any cleaners or liquid on it. The service person I talked to said that the printing coming off was not covered by the warranty. To me that is not the point. In this day and age with the technology we have as a country, you should be able to buy a washer that when cleaning, the printing doesnt wipe off. The washer manual say that the outside of the machine can be cleaned with warm water and mild, non abrasive household detergent. Immediately wipe off any spills with a soft, damp cloth. I guess LG doesnt care about the consumer. Im so disappointed in their non-response to problems people are having with such expensive washers and dryers. Im surprised Sears still sales LG products. Its giving them a bad name too.

If you are in the market for any product that LG Global makes, BUYER BEWARE! I have a dryer that is less than 2 yrs old and I have been trying to get a courtesy repair since it’s the dryers electronic control board has gone bad! My dryer is less than 2 yrs old and warranty only covers 12 mos. The customer Service for this company is non-existent. “When” you get people on the phone you can understand, and you’ve spoke to 3 customer service people and so you ask for a supervisor and they say “I can’t do that”. There’s a huge problem.I am so furious and tired of each customer service rep asking for the entire history again snd then wanting to open a new call it gets RIDICULOUS. DOESNT ANYONE PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL YOU BACK TO HAVE A CONVERSATION? They don’t seem to care.??? I never write reviews but I just had to. I got LG top of the line, top loader washer and dryer set. I guess I didnt research it enough. I have been doing laundry for 30 years and there really is nothing I like about this set. First and foremost, neither the washer nor dryer let you choose your settings. They have categories and it is what it is. Unfortunately they are terrible and dont work, e.g., nothing between normal and delicate. Does not get stains out unless you use 2 1/2 hour cycle with soak. Cant understand that one. Dryer same problem with settings. More dry is really almost dry. I gave it a year and still is the worst purchase I have ever made.

I purchased an LG French door refrigerator from H.H.Gregg 3/14/2015, I paid 3,023.99. June 2015, the freezer broke froze up and all my frozen food defrosted. I called H.H Gregg, they said that since the refrigerator was not yet a year old, that I would have to deal with L.G. I called L.G. They sent someone out to repair the fridge, he had to thaw out the ice with a hair dryer, said that the fan motor was gone, he ordered a part took a week to get it. He then came back out, put the fan motor on. It worked until November 2015, I came home about 11 pm, water all over the floor, everything in my refrigerator and freezer melted or spoiled. I again called HH Gregg. Once again they told me to call L.G. I called them, told them it was broke again, they told me it would be 8 to 10 days for someone to come out.I tried to talk to these people, they sent me to a call center overseas, they said they would not replace the unit. I then called the executive center in Alabama, worst customer service ever. It is now three weeks later, 4 dates before thanksgiving, still no fridge. Finally a LG tech came out, said it needed a new computer, a new compressor, and that there were some more problems. 5 hours later he took photos and left. Said beyond repair. Next day he calls, said they were not going to replace it and that he had to try to fix it. I called L.G. back, they were horrible, said I didnt have a choice they were not replacing it. So now the tech has it back together. Said he hopes it works. I will never buy another LG product, I would discourage anyone from buying LG. The worst People to deal with!

Loved the look of this range but told salesman I wanted self clean. He said look it has Easy Clean. Not the same I found out 2 months later. Also my service book states I get grill pan for top of stove and small cleaning kit which I found out months later and was told not for my model... But the worst is my oven is chipping enamel - golf ball size chip. Also told not under warranty. This is a defect not warranty problem. So now it’s my problem to replace this part on bottom of oven. Is about $180.00 and grill pan is about 60.00 plus cleaning kit about $10.00 so I need to spend about 250.00 to get my range back to new. Remember this range is only 18 months old... My husband wanted a GE but I like how this looked. Wished I listened but won’t have this range long at this rate because it’s hard to get parts from overseas and customer service sucks and so does the company. Be WARNED!!!!!

I purchased a $1,200, top of the line LG, in September of 2009. November of 2011 the machine came up with an error code of 1E, which the manual states a water inlet valve. So the part was replaced. Guess what? That wasnt the issue, so I contacted LG, and they had me go over some troubleshooting over the phone with no luck. So they gave me appliance repair centers that only deal with LG. To make a long story short, after having 2 parts swapped out - one was for $91.00, the inlet valve was $54.00 and another $91.00 yet to be paid to the appliance repair guy. Oh and I forgot about the computer board (which only has a 5 year warranty) was replaced - I have a $1,200.00 dishwasher that does not work!LG called me to say that they will prorate it by giving me $676.00. After all that was put into it, that comes to $440.00 and I have to send mine back. Hmm. I told LG that this is unacceptable. Her answer, Well sir, its a man made product, so I laughed in which I replied, So if I purchase anything from LG and it craps out after 3 years, I am supposed to just accept that Oh well! Its man made? My fellow consumers out there, beware. Life is not good with LG.

As of today, 2012, all 5 knobs are either loose, fallen off, all completely cracked. Years ago, I purchased matching LG Front Load Washing Machine (2233H) & Gas Dryer; cost approx. $2500. At first, my biggest issue was that the Dryer (largest capacity), could not/still cannot effectively tumble my California King sheets. As such, I still have to stop the cycle mid-way, untangle then fluff the sheets and restart the cycle! With my OLD top loading basic Whirlpool machine, I never had this problem. As for LG Washing Machine (2233H), after about a year, I developed serious and long-standing sinus issues but never thought of my washing machine being the source of the problem, until it began to smell funky and I did some online research. I found that this machine and other front loaders have issues with mold; however, I thought I was exempt from this since I always a) always keep the door open; b) frequently run the tub clean option and c) regularly clean the rubber rim!One day, I was reading an article about children, who had been admitted to the same hospital and later died; it was proven that these already ill children were given linens with mold spores on them. With already comprised immune systems, the mold spores entered these childrens sinus cavity then attacked their brains and, in turn, killed them! The laundry facility that was used by the hospital was found to have a mold problem!! So, I became more diligent with my washing machine. I took bleach and vinegar and tried to clean not just the rubber rim but further inside.Tonight, I was also fed up with the fact that bleach and softener never dispense. So, I went online and found an article stating that this part might be clogged and to take the dispenser drawer out then clean it. To my surprise, I found BLACK MOLD on the underside of the drawer as well as in the machine opening [where the drawer fits into]. It is so ingrained into the top underside of the opening that I cant get it off. I am now more alarmed about health issues that this washing machine Black Mold problem has been causing and might still be causing. So, I went online again and find that LG and other front load manufacturers have just settled class-action suits for this issue but not admitted any fault!!!! LG never sent any notice to me and the deadline has just expired. Furthermore, the settlement to each machine owner is pathetic, especially, considering 1) initial cost of these machines and 2) replacement cost for a new machine [as you will never get rid of the black mold throughout the existing machine]. Government needs to protect consumers from big corporations abuse since attorneys of class actions are the only ones who benefit. For this specific issue, people need to contact their local politicians to work on behalf of their constituents to get lemon laws passed in respect to these defective machines, which manufacturers continued to produce and sell with full knowledge of the serious potential and probable health risks to consumers [adults, seniors, children] due to exposure to common black mold formation. Manufacturers of machine models found to have black mold should be mandated to replace each of these machines with top loaders of the consumer choice.

Like others have mentioned, the lint filter on the dryer lifts up on the corner where the clothes land as they tumble. This causes clothes to catch on the corner of the filter and get destroyed. This also allows more lint to get through past the filter, causing lint to buildup inside the dryer and in the ducts leading outside your home. Weve lost countless articles of clothing. We have replaced the lint filter, but it still sticks out and catches clothes.

I had a local appliance repair place came out in determining with the compressor and told me that I should just buy a new refrigerator. I reached out to LG and asked if they were doing anything for customers at the compressors are not laughing the industry standard. I was greeted with sympathy from the LG customer service rep. He looked up my model and told me that I had a 10-year compressor warranty and assured me that hed write up a ticket at no charge for labor or the service call. I was able to get an appointment within three days and the service people were prompt and the repair was done within an hour and a half and my refrigerator is working beautifully. On June 28, 2020 I noticed my fridge was not keeping things cold. I called a refrigerator repair company and it turns out my compressor went bad. I have only had the fridge for 5 yrs and 3 months. I called LG customer service on June 29, 2020, and was told they would replace the part but wouldnt pay for the service. It is going to cost over $600 to have the compressor replaced. I did some additional research and it appears LG has a problem with defective compressors. In fact, there was a lawsuit filed against them for this very reason. I asked to speak to a manager about the repair cost and Vergie refused to transfer me to one. She also would not provide the name of the manager that said they would not cover the repair costs. Its not like I asked for a new fridge, I just want them to pay for a problem they know they have. This will be the last time I purchase a LG product!

I have owned my LG range for almost a year. I have no complaints as far as how my range works and with that part I am happy. But, there have been 3 separate instances where I have smelled gas in my home only to find one of my knobs turned just slightly enough to let gas leak out. For this feature, I am very dissatisfied and I would not recommend this range to anyone. I am constantly checking the knobs to make sure they are off.I called LG as many others have regarding this issue and they advised me to check on Amazon for some child protective covers, at my cost. I told them this was not good enough. I had bought all new kitchen appliances, all LG and have just purchased a new dryer which is LG also. It was very poor customer service but when I voiced how I felt, she offered to send a serviceman to my home to look at the knobs and if needed, he would try to fix the problem. I contacted LG on 8/21/2020 and they confirmed the unit was under warranty and dispatched a local technician to come on 8/27/2020. Technician came as scheduled and basically said LG is known for making faulty compressors and he had about 40 other homes waiting for compressors. I followed up weekly but the parts were on backorder. On 9/11/2020 I received a call stating they could return to fix the unit on 9/17/2020. On 9/17/2020 technician arrived and stated the issue was not the compressor but the tank which holds the coolant. He said he should have the part in 2-3 days. After 5 days of not hearing from them I spoke to LG headquarters who confirmed the local technician did not know the issue so they dispatched a different local technician to arrive on 9/25/2020. The technician did not arrive on 9/25/2020 so I called LG HQ again and they stated the technician cancelled the appointment but did not know why I was not made known of this. They stated corporate approved a defective return number for my home also known as a DNR number but I had to call 888-412-8357 to follow-up. I called that number and waited 2 hours but nobody ever came to the phone. I tried again today, and no luck. I would stay away from LG appliances in all as this has been a nightmare for my family.

I purchased the machine about 6 years ago. For the last few years, rust has accumulated around the outside of the bleach dispenser (i.e., the area where you pour the bleach in to be dispensed later during the wash cycle). It is getting worse and covers a larger area as time goes on. According to the LG customer service, the cause is spilled bleach around the dispenser area and furthermore, they say, this is merely cosmetic and does not affect the function of the washing machine. I disagree.First, as noted, the area is growing. Second, there are stains on clothing after washing that are hard to explain any way other than something to do with the rust on the body of the machine. Finally, I do not believe it has anything to do with spilled bleach because there is a spout in the back of the machine that delivers rinse water and that spout is also rusting. It would be necessary for me to purposefully pour bleach over this spout, or wipe it on, in order to for bleach to cause the rust in that location. Like some other reviewers, I have had a few problems with a UE error message, but it usually works out. This could be because I do wash rather small loads and I tend to use the bulky bedding setting, even for small loads, to get enough water to thoroughly wash and rinse the clothes.Overall I am very disappointed with the LG and would prefer an agitator type machine in order to not use so much water for small loads. Thats what I will be looking for to replace this one - since spending even $300 for a technician to come and look at it seems excessive. I should add that three years ago I purchased another LG machine for a different location; at that time there was no rust on my home washer. The newer machine has been used rarely because it is in a vacation house. Nonetheless, after approximately 100 uses, the circuit board quit and the machine is dead. Naturally it is out of warranty, so getting rid of it seems the only sensible solution.

These companies should not be allowed to manufacture substandard parts for their products at the expense of the consumers. But something should be done and shift the responsibility back to companies like LG and make them pay or correct them at no cost to the consumers. A repairman from Stover, Evey, and Jackson came, brought a loaner, and took the model to diagnose the problem in their local shop. It is not repairable because the capillary tube is blocked and no part can be ordered from the company to complete the repair, per Bob, technician. This model has a 7 year sealed system warranty.I have tried to contact LG via email, with little success. The phone customer service is very poor and time consuming. A supervisor gave me a bad email address after calling us at 6am (no apology). Does anyone have any suggestions to remedy this problem? I would like them to repair the unit or replace it, or at least refund a portion of our purchase price.

We bought our LG refrigerator 12 years ago and it has been a source of aggravation ever since. It has had to be worked on numerous times. Leaks water from the ice maker and now makes crazy suction noise. We have our Whirlpool refrigerator in the garage, nearly 25 years old and has not had one problem. All I can saw is DON’T BUY LG or be prepared for lots of problems. I am afraid with this latest noise that it could catch fire! We will have to buy a new refrigerator soon because we can’t live with this constant aggravation, Even though we paid more for it than any refrigerator we have ever had!!!

A search for class action LG refrigerator will provide all the details required to understand the problems I and so many others have experienced. LG was of no help, replying to service requests with email that I can only hope was machine generated. Of the replies received the solution recommended was to pay them more money. We didnt subscribe to the fridge, we purchased it.

We bought the above LG washer new at Best Buy on 3/16/14 along with an extended warranty. It wasnt delivered until 3/29/14. We ran it for ~2 weeks when on 4/13/14 it began spraying water all over our floor from the bottom right of the machine. I immediately called Best Buy about a return. Their policy is only 15 days. They count that 15 days from the date of purchase, not delivery. (Let that be a warning). So we only had the washer in our house and running for a few days before the return period ended. They would not honor a return and told us we had to go through LG. From there it got much, much worse. Have some patience to read the rest of this and you will get the true feel for LGs Customer Service. Pray you never have a problem. You can see in the attached transcripts that the repairman that came out basically saw a non-fixable problem and tried to the LG to condemn the unit. LG wouldnt do it as they saw it as repairable. Our repairman said all other companies he deals with would take the repairmans recommendation and replace the unit. He warned us that LG is different and that they would fight tooth and nail to not have to exchange the unit. Afterwards, I contacted LG customer service on the phone and was placed on infinite hold two times. I finally resorted to the chat room option. Read the transcript to get their idea of customer service. We had been without a washer for 2 weeks at that point and LG did absolutely nothing to help. No replacement, no loaner, no stipend towards a Laundromat, coupon, or even an apology. What we got was we have 30 days to fix it per our warranty and it sounds inconvenient for you. There was zero attempt at trying to appease us as customers. The 2nd round of parts came in, and sure enough as our repairman said, they didnt solve the problem. It was now 4/29 and we are livid to still be without a working washer after spending over $800. He provided them copies of our receipts and LG stated they would start processing an RA (return authorization review). We were told we would hear from LG in a day or so. A few days went by, I tried calling LG again. No response. Emailed. No response. Finally, managed to get hold of a Customer service manager. They told me they had 3 days to process an RA. I told her it had now been over a week. She didnt know what to say. She also stated they didnt have copies of our receipts. They did, but I resent them again. Now go to the next email string.Today, my wife called again. LG said they didnt process anything because they didnt have the receipts. I had to provide them a THIRD TIME. We were then told it will take 3 working days or more to process the return through Best Buy and about another week to 10 working days before they will arrange for a replacement unit. That does not count time for delivery. They still dont care and wont help in any way. So we are looking at being without a washer for about 1-1/2 months or more. We are still scrambling to get laundry done. I will be looking to get the photos taken by our repairman showing the gap in the machine and post them once received.Consequences? My wife has been traveling 20 miles each way to her mothers house ~2-3 times per week to do laundry. A few times she has gone to a local neighbors house. I have had to leave work early and take personal time to travel 30 miles (45 minutes) on 3 occasions so far to deal with the service calls. Hours spent on the phone and the Internet trying to reach resolution. Inconvenience. Frustration. Strained relationships with relatives. A mess on our floor that I had to clean up. About 1-1/2 months without a washer after spending $800 on what was sold to me as a supposed functional unit.

I purchased a brand new LG linear compressor French Door with the glass sneak peek feature on July 23, 2021 from Best Buy for $3500! In early December – Just 5 months later – the refrigerator stopped cooling. It is now Jan 11, 2022 and I have had 5 LG technicians come to my home with 5 different possible causes from – You must have left your refrigerator open- to – Maybe YOU spilled something down into the ducts causing the compressor to die – to – The doors are not level, the front cross strip is not balanced, and the compressor was installed wrong and is now leaking Freon! STILL, they don’t return calls and just continue to send technicians every 7 days. They have ordered at least 5 parts and still – the fridge does not get below 46 degrees!!! The freezer frosts, the ice maker drips and I am fed up. I keep calling and making complaints – I think they are due for another class action lawsuit! LG means Losing Game! DO NOT BUY THEIR REFRIGERATORS. ONE TECHNICIAN TOLD ME HE HAS NEVER SEEN THEM REPLACE A FRIDGE IN HIS CAREER! A refund is a unicorn. LG, I’ll keep calling for my $3500 hunk of metal. I’ve had to buy backup deep freezers and form refrigerators to keep milk in the house! LG – stick to washers and terrible cell phones. I was last told that they cannot replace until I’ve had 4 repairs. I have now had 5! No calls back. I PURSUE ALL CALLS AND REPAIRS.

I purchased a model LFX8968 refrigerator from Home Depot. Within the first year I had to spend $170 to have a heating element put in the bottom of the unit so it would have frozen water build up in the freezer section (bottom drawer). For the last year and half, the French door which holds the ice maker leaks all over the floor, the ice reservoir melts all the ice cubes together and jams the ice dispenser. Home Depot will not stand behind the product and after hours with LG customer service, Ive given up. LG customer service has actually hung up on me three times and I was respectful - no yelling. Tell your friends and even your enemies not to buy a product with the label LG on it. Never have I been so disgusted and beaten down than working with Home Depot and LG.

I am so disappointed in our LG refrigerator with freezer on the bottom. Never again will I buy an LG product. Wish I would have seen these posts before we spent 2500.00 with extended warranty. Thats funny extended warranty spent that $ for the paper we signed I guess. The freezer is not freezing and an odor is coming from the refrigerator. Called LG and was told to call HH Gregg, she supposedly called the while I was on hold, she couldnt talk good English. I asked her where she was located in the US and she told me Alabama, yeah right. Dont purchase LG products, they dont back them and neither does HH Gregg. Wont be buying anything from there anymore. Where do I go from here? Dont have $ for repairs, should have been under warranty, oh by the way, manufacturer warranty I was told by customer serv rep Tammy from Alabama was on seals and compressor and that if she send someone out, I would have to pay labor. Imagine that.

After a week and a half of dancing with technicians and various customer support people, we now find our LG refrigerator cannot be fixed. We purchased an LG LFC25770SG on the last day of December 2008 and took delivery in January 2009. Three years and four months later, the compressor has died. When we first discovered the problem, we were shocked the warranty was only for a year. However, some parts are covered for seven years and our compressor is one of them (partial warranty as part is covered but service is not). I could give you the blow-by-blow description of the frustrating customer support calls, three service technician visits, multiple incorrect part deliveries, and going into the Memorial Day Weekend (a traditional barbecue weekend for us) with no refrigerator, no solution to the problem and no sense of urgency by LG in correcting the situation. Our model requires a compressor that is no longer available (even though it is covered by warranty). Of course, if you go online and look for the part, you find it listed (even on LGs sites) with various prices. On many sites, it lists a replacement part for the compressor, but LG said this model requires the original compressor and that there are no substitutes. Unfortunately, they apparently have not notified the parts industry or their factory-authorized repair technicians. Even the LG technician they sent out today (We had been dealing with Sears Home Repair.) thought the replacement part was a suitable sub and was trying to figure out how to install the replacement part. Only after I insisted he interrupt his call to listen to me did he hear me say we have talked to LG twice and that they said there is no substitution for this part. Sears parts distribution has sent us the same part in an expedited shipment twice. Guess Ill tell them since LG hasnt, now we are waiting for LG management to contact us for a solution to our problem undoubtedly next week. That will make a full two weeks without our refrigerator with no concern for the food lost, inconvenience, customer dissatisfaction, repair call costs, or even product quality. I expect their solution will be unsatisfactory (a replacement unit with no warranty, a depreciated value refund, or credit toward a new model, etc). None of these will be satisfactory, as I will accept nothing less than a suitable replacement with the full warranty or refund of our purchase price. I suspect this may be the beginning of litigation. I would like to think LG would be concerned enough about their brand and their product quality that they would want to do the right thing to make us whole. However, our experience so far and the complaints Ive read here do not project a favorable outcome.

Bad Service - 38 months old French Door with dual ice makers and the in door ice maker fails. It makes ice but cannot seem to get them to fall when it turns to empty without getting stuck and making a clicking noise. I called LG and they connected me to an LG authorized service center 70 miles away. The service center called the day they were to arrive and asked me how I was going to pay. I asked for an estimate and was informed that ice makers cannot be repaired as LG does not fix ice makers but only replaces them for a cost of $500. The reason that was provided is they are made in Korea. What a bunch of BS from the authorized service center. I just canceled the order for all LG products on the new home going up. I would not take the chance with their product again.

Do yourself a favor. Look at other brand before buying an LG refrigerator. On mine the compressor went in less than a year and getting it fixed under warranty was a horrible experience. Worse customer service I ever experienced with a company. I was without a fridge for over a month. Not fun with two small children in the house. A little over a year later the compressor went again. Now it wasnt covered under warranty. Repair guy said do yourself a favor and buy new one of another brand rather than fixing this one. It will be cheaper in the long run. He said he replaces LG compressors all the time. New compressor was going to be $1200 so I went and got a new fridge for $2600. So I basically spent almost $3K on a fridge that lasted 2 years. Have a Frigidaire now and couldnt be happier.

We have a six year old French door LG refrigerator, $2,700 purchased at Home Depot. It stopped cooling fridge and freezer. A local repair man told me it was the compressor and that he didnt work on LG refrigerators. I called the customer service number in the owners manual. The sealed system has a parts warranty for seven years and the compressor has a parts warranty for 10 years. When I called them, I told them that my compressor or sealed system was bad as the repair guy had told me. They acted like it was no problem and sold me a repair package for $459.00. They said that would include the repair and a year warranty on the repair. I said great and bought it. They send out the first guy after waiting several days. He said after a few minutes, the compressor is bad and he had to order the part. Well, after several days I hear that he is not coming back to fix it so now I have to wait several more days for LG to send someone else. Another guys shows up and says compressor bad, Im like yeah I know that. He says we will order the parts and it will take several days to get it. He gives me a card and receipt and is on his way. I wait days and never hear anything. I call the number in his card, they say we dont fix LG compressors. This is the same story that I got from the first one and this time I told LG to only send out a service that could fix it because I already knew that was the issue and they should have too since the first guy didnt want to fix it. So this time I was livid. They sent someone else that refused to fix it probably because LG will not pay them enough to fix it. LG continued to give me a runaround after they sold me this repair service for labor on what should be parts under warranty. Not to mention the fact that they screwed me around for three weeks sending their two chosen repairmen out who then refused to fix it but LG was not straightforward on that. I got the same BS story that I read in some other reviews that they say they dont have a repair person in my area. I told them that I live right outside of Houston and if you dont have a repair person in my area then you dont have one anywhere. They then said they would refund my repair purchase minus $100 for a service call fee. I was more livid! At this point I had been out of a refrigerator for over three weeks. We are a family of six with four children. It was our only refrigerator. We were living out of a mini fridge out of our attic and coolers! They did not care one bit. As I figured out that this was going to be a process, I went to Lowes and purchased a basic Whirlpool refrigerator for my garage. After threatening them with BBB and lawsuit, they refunded me my full purchase price of the repair package they sold me. I asked how they get away with not fulfilling their parts warranty. They offered me a one time chance to call my own repair man and I could call in or email his info to them and they would authorize him to get the parts under warranty but of course then I start over on service calls, fees and labor charges and Im sure, more runaround with LG sending the parts that my repair guy would need to fix it. I am so done with dealing with them. From the other reviews I read, Im lucky that my fridge lasted six years! I paid $2,700 for this refrigerator and we have kept it in perfect condition but now it is an expensive nice looking nonworking piece of junk! They are a horrible company. I called local repair companies and many dont even work on LG or Samsung refrigerators. They say their systems are too complicated and awful. I will never ever buy an LG again. I will not purchase Samsung either after what I have read and found out from repairmen. We have been operating out of the one I purchased for the garage and I am researching what to buy to replace my $2,700 LG. Awful, awful, horrible company for customer service!!! I will be purchasing Whirlpool/KitchenAid or maybe GE. It is really unbelievable what they put me through in this process and they do not care one little bit. I am a stay at home mom so I could be around without taking time off work but total and complete runaround and they lie non stop to you. They do not care about you one little bit and wouldnt care if you did have to take off work to deal with their scam and it is a scam!

I used to love LG products; however, my wife and I bought an LG refrigerator along with an LG washer, dryer, microwave, and dishwasher. Our refrigerator stopped cooling all together. After trying to do the simply things LG suggests, we had to call for service. Called on Thursday the 12th and they scheduled an appointment for Monday the 16th 1-5pm. I called the service company on Friday to confirm and they said there was nothing scheduled. Called LG and they set us up with another service provider; however, the earliest they could be out was Tuesday the 24th. Spent 55 mins on the phone with LG and they said they cant do anything else and the line to the service scheduling department is down. When they work they are great. When they break while still under warranty its not worth it. Buy a different companys product. Thanks.

Updated on 10/03/2019: LG phoned today regarding my review. Since I didnt have a haul away receipt, there was nothing they could do and since I didnt purchase another LG product, they couldnt help with the cost. They dont care about the customer, as they say they do. I spoke to LG many times during the 3 months I was without a refrigerator and asked that they replace the unit or give me a buyout with no response. An Appliance repair company e-mailed them after speaking to a person in the executive services and asked that they contact me regarding a replacement or buyout, but, of course, they never did.Original review: Do not purchase! I spent 3 agonizing months trying to get the compressor replaced. Every time a technician came they said it wasnt the compressor and changed the fan, door magnet, and adjusted the sensitivity in the door light. Finally I had to call another appliance repair company due to the fact that their warranty company is horrible. Then, it took many weeks to get LG to authorize them to do the work. Finally, the technician began to install the compressor that LG sent 3 months prior. LG had sent the wrong compressor for this model. When the correct compressor was installed, it didnt fix the problem. After many calls to LG, they would not replace the refrigerator, nor give me a buyback. My 18 month old refrigerator is now in the dump and I am very happy with my new GE.

Top of the line LG purchased in Spring 2018. Was expensive. Control panel uses touchpads on hard plastic service which also serves as the door handle. We bought a 2 year extended warranty. The new vertical cracks cover the control touch pads, and will eventually render the dishwasher inoperative. Of course, it is considered normal wear and tear, and not covered by warranty. But, for $240 plus $250 flat rate service charge, I can get it replaced. How long before it cracks again? What a piece of junk. Do not ever buy a dishwasher that has flimsy handles which house the controls....

I live out of town, cant get anyone out here to try and fix it. Guess its going to the dump, probably only did 20 loads of dishes. Lousy loading racks. Though the interior is quite large, the racks dont seem able to nest as many dishes as my old one. About all this dishwasher does is look nice, stainless, hidden controls, sleek handle. I bought an LG Refrig/Freezer side by side unit in 2013. Within four months, the doors stopped sealing causing all food inside to spoil while I was out of town. Not covered by warranty, spent over $200 to have it repaired. Repair seal was no better which resulted in a second spoilage and waste of hundreds of dollars of food. Spent another $200 - all this within a year. I bought LG because they were supposedly good. I have learned the hard way. This is far from the truth. This morning my refrigerator was dead at the age of 31 months. After calling support number I was told to hire a technician. I purchased a Top Load LG HE washer in Nov 2013. It replaced a 27 year old Kenmore that I never put a dime into repairing. I cried the day that washer died. It has been two years of hell with this machine. UE are the letters now that make me want to throw a two year old tantrum. I have literally seen these two letters on the front panel of this washer more times than I can count. I am now keeping a log of every load and how many times the UE appears before I can actually get a load done. It is usually a minimum of 2. Every part that can possibly be replaced has been done.I have one final repair man coming in a week. He just needs to say that at this point the washer is unrepairable and I will get a replacement. It doesnt matter what type of load I do, sheets, towels, jeans, every one will be UE. If I could take a sledgehammer to it I would. My question now is who is making a decent washing machine that doesnt cost a fortune? I think we need to go back to the old style of set your wash level, temp and what type if load. I want to tell my machine what to do and not the other way around.Im so tired of taking all day to do one load of wash. My old machine would take 25 minutes top. A cotton normal cycle with fabric softener takes 1 hour and 11 minutes in this machine, really??? LG, go back to the drawing board and give your customers a machine that we can say good thing about and not turn grown women into raging lunatics who just want to throw a tantrum every time they do a load of laundry!

We purchased a LG washing machine from Lowe’s on May 31, 2014. About the second time we used it the clothes were slopping wet but some of the clothes had dry spots on them (both using detergent and fabric softener and without using any as weve had to wash each load 3 times or more to get the washer through a cycle). Lowe’s was nice enough to replace that washing machine with another one just like it. Lowe’s delivered and set up the new LG washing machine within a few days. Lowe’s had a repairman out but they cant find anything wrong. Calling LG and was informed some needed a new control board (why?? these are brand new machines and why are they selling the machines knowing certain serial numbers have problems)?? We dont have any children at home nor do we do heavy loads nor do we have real dirty greasy clothes. Lowe’s pretty much said weve had this newest machine 8 days and they cant do anything (had it 3 days before using it). LG advised we have to have 3 different service techs out. The first tech said he would check on the parts and call us back but that was 3 days ago and we havent heard from him. We called today and was advised they dont know if the parts were ordered or not as the secretary is out until Monday. Believe me we are slamming LG and are not happy with them at all. Service tech also advised us since its LG it will take longer to get the parts in and this repair might or might not work. Its like let’s try this and let’s try that and maybe something will help. But having two brand new LG washing machines within two weeks and they are both doing the same thing... LG has a problem and looks like its not getting fixed! We are very unhappy and wished we didnt purchased LG - the reviews are totally wrong!

Well this is the third time a service person has been out. When I called about the UE the first time I was told it was out of balance. I assured the person that it was doing this even with only 3 pieces of clothing in the machine and that the machine was balanced and checked with a level. So they send someone out to look at it and say it needs a computer part. Great parts ordered and problem solved. Wrong!!! Needless to say not very long after we end up having an issue that the UE goes on then the machine starts to go back to 20 minutes when there was only 5 minutes left. It does this 6 times and 2 hours later still messing with it, I call for service again. Well, again we need another part. Now a few months later, which brings us to this month July 2016 we have UE and the washer is now turning its lights on like it is going to start up without having any laundry in it and nobody being in the room. If it does successfully get a load done it will not turn the lights off. Service out again and another order for more parts. Gee, you would think LG would want to keep up good business practices and recall the washers. If a business backs its mistakes, it makes you want to purchase their brand again but if they dont then you run far away and tell anyone that will listen. My electric is sky high to begin with because it is Toledo Edison and now with the washer issues it is even worse. Nobody should have to wait 2 hours on a quick wash. I personally will not buy LG anymore and will make sure to tell people when I see them in stores shopping for washers to find another brand.

The LG microwave we purchased went out on us after we cooked the first potato. We had the LG microwave no longer than 2 weeks and had troubles. After working with LG for almost a month to have them fix the microwave LG blames A&E and A&E says there is nothing they can do without LGs approval. This went on numerous times and 3 appointments with the tech. so no microwave for Thanksgiving. Now No microwave for Christmas. Warning for whom is interested in this product that buyer beware! Our Sears Technician said that this microwave seems to go out quickly. I am a General contractor and have been building homes for over 19 years. This has been the worst experience I have ever had. I bought a LG refrigerator. Now 5 years old. It quit working. Started by calling the 800 number for LG repair. That was on July 27th 2020. Getting a call center out of the United States. They were very nice for the most part. A little hard to understand. I started getting texts with repair service would be in touch. I would wait and not hear anything. Call again. Again promise I would hear from them. This has gone on mind you since July, 27th 2020. Not getting anything done. I paid $100 for a service call. Was told there is a leak in the Freon line and maybe a fan problem. So again I call the 800 number. Was told I would get a email to send the proof of purchase. What they know I have it. I got all the information ready. As of today Oct. 28th of Oct nothing has happened. Thank You for letting me vent.
