Spent almost $3000 less than 3 years ago on a refrigerator. On April 7 it just quit cooling.... I understand things happen but the customer service I received trying to get it repaired was terrible!! I finally had to file a Better Business Bureau complaint to get a buy back. But I went over 2 months without a fridge. 2 months of dealing with LG who really cared less about my issues. There is a class action lawsuit happening. LG do the right thing and recall the fridges instead of putting people through this headache. Picture is the fridge going to the landfill.

We purchased a brand new LG refrigerator in July of 2015... At the time I did a fair amount of research and reviews on the brand and the model (French Door, Bottom Freezer), and all reviews were over 4/5 stars. We paid $2400 for a device that lasted less than 18 months. Fast-forward 13 months later (conveniently 1 month after the we cover everything part of their warranty ended), and the fan began to make a loud noise. A few days later, our fridge was no longer cooling, and on the digital panel we received a fan motor error code.We had purchased a 5 year major appliance warranty from Lowes... After 3 repairs in one weekend (each time the fridge went about 2 hours prior to it producing the same error code), followed by a separate service provider who had to order parts (and hasnt returned in over two weeks), we still do not have a working refrigerator. LG is a PoS company producing horrible quality appliances -- each service provider told us to never again buy an LG or Samsung appliance... Theyre made to last up to 7 years, but many appliances dont even make it two years at this point.

I bought an LG gas range model LRG30355ST at Home Depot sometime in 2009, and all the five knobs are all cracked and can no longer be adjusted to low or high. The cost of these knobs are exorbitant and almost costs around 1/3 of the total cost of the gas range. These companies should not be allowed to manufacture substandard parts for their products at the expense of the consumers. Whether they do this on purpose to generate additional revenues, we dont know. But something should be done and shift the responsibility back to companies like LG and make them pay or correct them at no cost to the consumers. Like others, I will no longer buy LG products and will spread the word that LG products are not quality products.

We had a kitchen remodel in November 2009, we purchased all LG appliances. My LG convection oven has been serviced 3 times for the same exact problem. Error: F-9, the thermostat will not heat the oven. Obviously there is a problem with the oven and it should be replaced. The model cost over $1800.00, and I thought that LG stood behind their product. The oven (wall unit) is just 2 years old. I also have an LG dishwasher, which was serviced because the motor went out the first year.

I purchased an expensive LG French door refrigerator. The compressor is guaranteed for 10 years and in just 3 years it has gone out. No authorized repair person in our area so the repair person started the lengthy process of getting authorization to repair my refrigerator and have a compressor sent to him. After more than a week, LG said there was a typo on the authorization and it needed to be started again. Another 3 days and he received an email. He attempts to order the part after waiting on hold for more than 40 minutes. The part is on back order. Refused to say for how long but when I called the parts department myself they said it was at least a month before they even get them in stock to start filling orders. The executive department now says it all starts from the date the order was placed so it is too soon to do anything further. Refuse to put in writing the date the part is expected. They say they arent required to do so. LG has made an inferior compressor, many, many going out, and then have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have never had a bigger runaround in all my life. In the meantime, I have no refrigerator, just a huge expensive piece of something in my kitchen.

Worst appliance we have ever owned! Smart balance doesnt work. It fills up over and over to adjust the load. You have to fold up and arrange your clothes just so or the cycle keeps repeating. You have to rearrange the clothes during cycle no matter if its a larger load or small load. Now the entire centerpiece comes loose and clothes get trapped underneath it or it stops working mid cycle have to then take everything out, put the piece back and reload! Takes hours and hours to do two loads!

LG French Door model LFX25960ST - After 2 years, the ice maker started leaking down the front of the doors. Repairman said I need a new ice maker. Cost $430. After 9 months the problem is starting again. I am the only one who uses the refrigerator so I know it is not being abused. I will never purchase another LG product again. My previous refrigerator was a plain Avocado Green GE and I had it for 20 years with no problems. Plain is the way to go. All the bells and whistles look pretty but are not functional.

The knobs were cracked and broken and we were unable to turn the gas all the way off. The repairman said he smelled gas when he entered my house. He ordered three new knobs. I then called LG at 800-243-0000 and told them that I had just read all the complaints about the range knobs, and how upset I am to learn that LG was doing nothing about the problem. I was then told that LG has a new replacement knob that they will send me free of charge. Five new knobs. No charge. I then asked why they were not notifying their consumers. No answer. I hope this will help someone else.

Let’s see. So my French door fridge (model # LFC25770SB) is only 2 years old. Weve had it since May 2010. It was bought brand new from Home Depot for our new home. It has worked fine until 11/14/2012. I came home from work and the entire bottom cavity (freezer) was thawed out and everything completely ruined (my Thanksgiving meal, since we went shopping a few days prior)! The freezer isn’t keeping anything cold, so therefore neither is the fridge! The fridge was 47 degrees when I got home! I called LG on their emergency line the night it happened and was told that the food that I lost would be covered in part. Not the case! They refused to cover anything. I have to wait up to 3 weeks for a new part, which I have to pay out of pocket for, and the labor that is included in fixing this part! Needless to say, a 2-year-old fridge was obviously a piece of **! I lost over $500 in groceries, not to mention the insulin that I had in the fridge because I’m a diabetic! LG lost this customer! And I doubt they will care to do anything! All they say is they are sorry! Must not really be sorry, because I should have gotten a reimbursement for some of the product lost because of their ** appliance that broke after, seriously, only 2 years! Do something LG!

The Model No.GL-D372RLJM has a very serious design defect: it possesses an irreparable heater plate which is a crucial part of the defrosting system. Once this heater plate cracks, cooling of the lower section of the fridge stops and the whole fridge must be trashed. Our fridge developed this problem when it was only 5 years old. After a lengthy wait, LG made an exchange offer, in which the worth of this fridge was deemed just 15% of the original purchase price. A fridge having a life span of 5 years is ridiculous. Equally insane is the policy of making the customer pay for LG’s own design defect.

First contact on Feb 23rd for compressor replacement, 5 years into a ten-year compressor warranty. Lengthy wait on hold,13 verifiable calls later, as of March 5th, there has been no authorization for a compressor to be shipped to the service vendor. Service vendor made 7 of 10 calls in one day. LG will not provide a direct number to reach the same person twice. They will provide you with a badge number and first name. When you call back, there is no way to get back to the same person. Today they tell me it takes five days to process a parts authorization. They also tell me it will be another 7 to 10 days before they ship the parts once they are ordered.Once that happens, the service provider has to order the parts, and reschedule service at the home location. Both my self and the service provider have been sent to another company called Encompass who then has you start all over. I was told on March 1st that the authorization was in my email, all I had to do was open it. On March 2nd, I was assured it would be processed in 24 to 48 hours. Today, that has grown to 5-7 business days to approve parts. This has left me no choice other than to be a month or more without a refrigerator. The original purchase price was just over $2700.00 on sale.

We bought all new LG appliances several months ago. Happy with all except dishwasher (LDS5540ST). I too am having issues with the dispenser door not opening or opening and the cube is still in the compartment. Have found the cube in the bottom of the dishwasher not totally dissolved. I too just bought the liquid detergent and the door opened on the dispenser and the liquid is in the bottom of the dishwasher. I have called the company on 2 occasions. She has given some information but nothing changes. I was told to make sure the dispenser was not being blocked by dishes. I monitored but that is not the issue. We went back yesterday to the company we bought from. Different salesman and he had not one positive word about any of the LG appliances. I will call the service rep to come look and if not help will take it back!!! Anyone have any suggestions?

Cleans very nicely but is just starting to get noisy. Love the ease of use and the rinsing it spot free. Perfect for a family of 4 but I can see its going to be too large when kids go to college soon. Modern looking, looks up to date. Wish I had gone with the stainless steel finish but that was much more money. I love the dishwasher but sometimes its too large like when the kids go away for weekend with friends.

My problem with this machine, is that Ive never seen a wash machine take so long to wash a load of clothes! If I use the Speedwash feature, which is supposed to be a 35-minute cycle, it will take nearly two hours to wash the clothes. Loads that I know should take longer, like extended soak cycles, stain removal cycles, extra rinse or extended spin cycles, extend the wash cycles into hours and hours. Im dissatisfied with this purchase and I have seen so many complaints that I know I wont get the matter resolved to my satisfaction. I remember when this company went under the brand of GoldStar. I didnt like the look of their appliances back then and they were known as cheap. They must have found a company to re-market and re-brand them, with great looking outside features, but the same crappy inside components.

Our oven range of its own volition heats up to maximum heat, will not shut off and has to be totally unplugged from electricity. This happened to me 6th Sept 2019. LG has a recall with full in home service for many units exhibiting this potential catastrophic fault. When contacted LG informed me my model was not on the recall list. Their concern and help consisted of advising me to have a recognized LG technician at a cost up to $240 check to find the problem and get it fixed. Check the recall. Judge for yourself if you now want to risk your home, property, life and physical injury buying a LG electric oven range.

I bought my refrigerator 5 years ago to come home to leaking water and a warm refrigerator. I was on long holds with the LG department. I found someone to look at the refrigerator and was told it is a compressor issue. I paid over 3000 for a refrigerator that didnt last 3 years. Im very dissatisfied with this product and customer service. I will never buy another LG product. They know these refrigerators have this issue and they are doing nothing to fix it. If I could give warning signs or negative stars I would! Bought my first machine about a year ago. I havent had a working washing machine since. The machine didnt work from day one. My husband called the company and got the run around for 3 weeks. I contacted Home depot and they got an LG authorized repairman to look at it. Needed a water pump (so they say). Mind you it has only been used twice. They also warned me of the special low-sudsing soap needed (another excuse). Home depot replaced it. However, the second one was just as bad as the first and had the exact same problems. As far as the soap, I ran it with no soap and had the same issues. My last two machines lasted about 10 years each with one service visit between them and they used any kind of soap! They werent top of the line expensive machines either. Im ready to eat the purchase and chuck this piece of junk. The company should give free service to everyone who bought their junk products for 3 years or be sued for selling substandard lemons. No way were they unaware that their product was junk. Two machines in a month and neither work. I will never, never buy an LG product ever again.

Im so glad to have found this. Thought I was crazy. Our LG frontload washer smells terrible and weve had service calls out 3 times for what looks like pen marks all over our white clothes. Its not a pen. The first time they said it was a drum shooting oil onto our clothes; nice. They replaced the drum. The second time, service didnt show up. The third time they said it was because the washers accumulate black slime that is accumulating throughout the internal parts of the washer and will randomly shoot out the black ink appearing lines. Do not ever purchase an LG. They make a good TV, but not washers or kitchen appliances. They also do not have service centers anywhere in our area (maybe our country?).

I received an LG front load washer at 12 noon today. I did the first load which spewed soapy water on the floor. I did subsequent small loads with no overflow. The dispensers retain clear water after cycle completed. I contacted LG to question why the water remains in the dispensers and why the overflow. I was informed that I used too much soap which caused the overflow. This is my second LG, and I am no dummy. I know how to fill the soap dispenser to the normal or max levels using HE products. The response from LG is We only recommend 2 tbs for a big load. I measured the amount of liquid to fill to the normal mark which is 5 tbs and to the max level which is 7 tbs.I explained this to the LG rep and the response was, We have already sent this numerous times to the designers. WHAT??? They know about the problem, continue to produce the product using the same improper guides in the manual and intuitively, the consumer follows the dispenser level marks and provide no ALERT to consumer!!! Of course, I still needed to know about the clear water remaining in the dispensers. That is normal. The dispenser dispenses by overfilling the drawer, that is shy there is water remaining at the end. Of course! We all want stagnated water to sit in the drawer possibly turning moldy and smelly to be dispensed into the next load of wash! I am absolutely incredulous! How can a manufacturer possibly continue to produce and sell such a subpar product? I was pleased with my last LG that performed well for 6 years and recently started to overflow and would not pump the water adequately out of the washer. I hate this refrigerator and will not ever buy LG again. We are in the process of replacing this refrigerator. While looking around, I see LG still has not upgraded their handles to real stainless steel. (At least, they should offer an upgrade, or free replacements.) Bought Sears Kenmore Model 795*77319600 (During troubleshooting I discovered this unit was made by LG for Sears!) in Oct 2007. Sequence of failure(s): 1st) Nov 2007 Upper freezer drawer basket rail bracket tabs crack - I used nylon zip ties to hold basket in place. 2nd) Apr 2008: Lower freezer drawer bin divider cracked at top edge. - Lived with defect, hoping it would hold. Repaired crack by splicing it with a plastic reinforcement plate in Aug 2014. 3rd) June 2010: Refrigerator lights fail, no plastic melted, nor food spoilage - I researched and found numerous similar customer complaints and LG recommended fix. I removed light cover lens, and both light bulbs, and used fridge w/o light! 4th) July 2014: Freezer no longer makes ice, progressively temperature gets warmer, then refrigerator starts to stay warm - Decided not to involve Sears Customer Service for repair, but rather do it myself. $1200 fridge/freezer should not die @ 7 years! I did some research, found a similar model service manual online, did some troubleshooting of the cooling/freezing system - sensor(s), and defrost timer. Found R134a to be too low. Fixed it myself for $35. Maybe I can get 7 more years @ $5 per year out of this LG piece of junk! I sympathize with my fellow Americans. Consumer trust has declined due to cheap poorly designed products... Whats the reason? Greed, Lack of Pride, Lack of Accountability. Make junk so we can buy more sooner? What would our ancestors think?

****Buyer Beware**** Please do not ever buy an LG Appliance! Their 10 Year Warranty isnt worth the paper it is printed on. Our dryer stopped heating after purchased new July 2017. Customer service is absolutely deplorable, with hour long wait after talking to someone about the problem, flat out lies, being given the runaround, promising service appointments and no one shows. Being told LG was in negotiations with a repair vendor in my area and that we should receive a call back within the week. That was 7 days ago. No one called.Called back - another hour of being on hold. Then being told that the 1st service center declined our service appointment so it was being escalated to their 2nd service center. Why was my service declined? No one can say, but supposedly/hopefully the 2nd service center can accomplish what the 1st service center was unable to do - schedule a service appointment. Oh yea, I should receive a call back in 3-5 days from the 2nd service center. After 2 1/2 weeks of the runaround and lies from LG, I am done trying to have the dryer repaired under warranty. I am biting the bullet and calling a repair service to repair my 9-10 month old dryer out of my own pocket. I also would like to note that our case is not an isolated one. A google search will reveal several horror stories identical to mine! Dryer stopped heating and a completely worthless LG customer service experience.

I wanted to be fair about my review so I waited until I had it a while. I bought this machine a yr ago and I am very disappointed. In any cycle, theres not enough water to get everything wet, say nothing about rubbing the clothes together. The repairman came out for a repair issue and stated the machine was made to wash ONE set of sheets not two. If I want anything really clean, I have to go to bulky to get enough water to make any soap suds. Most of the time, I can see the blue soap color on some of the clothes.. They dont get wet enough to get the soap off. I will not buy LG anything again.

Our repairman said he condemned 5 LG refrigerators within a week, all were about 3-4 years old.

I called LG and was told that since it is a microwave, I will have to drive it to one of LGs repair facilities. We have been using our new LG dishwasher approximately four weeks so I have actually turned it on about 5 times. Went to use it today and door would not close. When I did get it closed I could not open it. It was stuck. Husband finally got it open. Latch is defective. So when repairman comes Wednesday to fix my leaking (new) LG fridge guess he’ll be repairing a dishwasher also.

Updated on 02/16/2021: My Husband and I bought a new home 4 years ago and we decided on all new LG appliances, LG Black stainless steel. We bought a LG Refrigerator, LG Microwave, LG Dishwasher and a LG Built in Oven (Double Range). So this past year we noticed Grooves on the oven Door and in the past 6 months they have started to Peel and Rust. We have started to noticed Paint chips in our food. Well, LG agreed to send out a company to see the damage and then they had the Audacity to say that I caused the damage to my own Product. I have never cleaned the oven other than the self cleaning mode. I do not even use anything other than Norwex in my Home. Its their way of sweeping it under the Rug. BLAME THE CONSUMER.Im 62 yrs old and they BLAMED ME AND MY HUSBAND to my FACE. All they had to do was change out the Door, but, yet, they didnt, instead they insulted us to our face. Would you really support such a COMPANY???? I have never in my Life been so frustrated with a Purchase that was made in good Faith. Now every time we use the oven to cook for our Kids and Grandkids, am I poisoning our Family???? We cant just go get a new oven on our Retirement, is this Company, LG, worth Purchasing From, Id be very aware in case something goes wrong with your appliance. Is it worth be stuck with a defective product as we are and no-one is there to back up your $$$$ Purchase? Give it thought before you buy LG Appliances.Original Review: I dont understand how a companys defective workmanship is under a one-year warranty, it has nothing to do with its normal use. My oven has a Monster in it, clawing to get out, I have the enamel chipping off, deep grooves that are now rusting, the oven is 4yrs old and expensive and Im unable to use it for fear of being poisoned. Please has anyone else had this issue or know of a class action in regards to the defect? I just may be the 1st. On LGs website there are others whove had this issue also. Should I contact them???? Im at a loss here.... Any Help would be appreciated.

Gas Range LSSG3016ST - I have owned this range only 3 months, but I am very frustrated with the moaning whistle noise that comes from the unit the entire time the oven is in use and for 15 minutes or so after the oven shuts off. I thought maybe when it was used a few times it would stop but it hasnt. It is not horribly loud but loud enough I can hear it throughout the kitchen and it really gets on my nerves. I would think for a $2000.00 oven it should be quiet. I am talking with customer service and will write another review per their response. As of this time I am not a happy camper and think this will be my last LG purchase.

When the cover is over the sink where the disposal connected as well as the dishwasher it can not be heard at all, absolutely no sound. LG cleans fairly well, but if dishes sit they get moldy. Its quiet when running. Quiet. Would like to have had the racks designed differently to accommodate more sizes of dishes and glassware. White, plain. The brackets supporting the dishwasher broke within a year so my dishwasher is without the side supports that hold it in place. When the dishwasher door is opened, the racks all slide forward and the lower rack goes off the tracks quite quickly.

I purchased my LG side-by-side refrigerator from Best Buy in October 2016.
I purchased my LG side-by-side refrigerator from Best Buy in October 2016. Initially I was very pleased with the unit, no problems until late June 2018. The temperature dropped significantly and the freezer no longer kept food frozen. I was informed after placing a service call that the compressor ceased to work and other updates were needed to the refrigerator. One year later in July 2019 the freezer and refrigerator are again working insufficiently. I have lost a ridiculous amount of food in both the freezer and refrigerator. I am again using a cooler, buying ice frequently. I contacted the LG customer service department this past Sunday July 21, 2019 to inform staff of a malfunctioning refrigerator and to complain that this was the second incident in three years. I was given an appointment for July 25, 2019. My husband took the day off of work in order to receive the repairman. After no one showed, my husband contacted LG customer service department and was informed that the appointment had been canceled. We did not cancel the appointment. LG customer service informed us after some time that A& E Factory Service, their contractor, canceled the appointment and did not inform LG nor did they inform us of the cancellation. Eventually my husband was given an appointment for August 5th 2019, two-weeks from the originally scheduled appointment. He explained the challenges in retaining food, money lost, and that we have a five year old daughter who had clumpy milk that had to be discarded... the next available appointment was moved to August 1, 2019. I phoned yesterday, July 25, 2019 explained the above and inquired about the earliest available appointment. After being on the phone for twenty minutes I was informed that the earliest possible appointment is still August 1, 2019 however it is not confirmed, therefore I do not have a concrete appointment as of yet. I was told that someone will call us to confirm the actual August 1, 2019 appointment next week. I am very disappointed. I am very dissatisfied. I will not purchase another LG refrigerator again.Jacqueline **

Worst company ever. Worst company ever. DO NOT BUY!!!! We bought a refrigerator that cost around 3500 new. And it only a year old. We have had to have it repaired 5 times now. I have fought and fought with corporate headquarters to get a new refrigerator. I dont want my money back just a replaced fridge. They make you jump through a a bunch of pot holes and then say they will not replace the fridge but give you a pro rated refund meaning less than you paid for it. How hard is it to replace a refrigerator when you are in the business of making refrigerators. Especially when you grossed over 322,000,000 last year. This corporate company needs to be knocked down a step. You can not forget that your customers made you and you are where you are thanks to them.

I bought the gas range (LRG3061) back in November and since then I have had nothing but issues. The oven flame is over firing and the inside of the oven becomes black after use. It takes me hours to clean and it returns again after using the oven a few times. When I try to use the burners it makes the bottom of my pans black which is terrible. Each time I call LG they set me up with an appointment for a technician to come but no one ever shows up in the actual appointment date. This issue has been going on for a few months now and LGs ability to fix the problem has been disgraceful. It is a health hazard and I have spent a lot of money on this gas range and whenever I cook it turns the food black. To this date Im still waiting for a technician to come to fix the issue.

We recently went through 4 months of renovations. What a nightmare and the contractor is not coming back to do the final touchups. We had our kitchen completely gutted and when it came to appliances we purchased and LG range and fridge. Both are working just fine. It takes a bit of getting used to when going from appliances from the 70s and 80s to new. We have had no problems with the fridge but then we have only been using it for a couple of months. The stove works fine. I thought getting a new stove would mean that I would wait a shorter time for a pot of water to boil but no. We are having a problem with the smell of gas every time we use the range. Whether it be the oven or burners, we smell gas. There is conflicting information on the internet as to whether this is normal. We shouldnt be able to smell gas in other rooms other than the kitchen but we do when we use the range. The other issue which is major is the knobs for turning on the burners. This is a complete safety hazard and how this design passed any safety inspections before selling to the public is beyond me. I have singed my long hair twice, once reaching into a cupboard near the stove and another cleaning by the stove just because I barely leaned against the range. The knobs turn by barely brushing up against them and instantly the burner is on before you can get out of the way. If my children were still small I would not keep this stove. It is a accident just waiting to happen. I find this design terribly irresponsible for a company to have and this range should be recalled. I also find the venting of the oven across the cook top not the best design also. When I use the oven and the burners at the same time too much heat is being created and at one time our range hood fan went off on its own and didnt shut off until the heat had dissipated. At the same time the oven vent causes the pots on the stove to heat up even more than from being on the burners and the handles can not be handled unless using a pot holder. It bakes well. We find we use the convection more because on bake food isnt crisping up as much as we would like. I guess thats the difference between electric heat and gas. Companies need to stand by their products better. Our old fridge of 25 years is still going on strong and has been relegated to the car port as an overflow fridge. I am certain that these new appliances of today would never last that long. If the new LG fridge goes we might have to bring the old one back inside. Oh and our 2 year old Samsung T.V. just completely died. What quality!!!

One good thing about it: the funny sounds it makes. Just about useless crap. Top loading pile of crap. What a hunk of junk. Mine is a top loader. Smart drive load sensor it is none of those. It does not sense loads. And is not smart. I will not purchase another LG anything again. This thing is unreliable junk. It calls itself a water saver. Problems: itll get stuck load sensing. It complains about uneven loads and the loads as far as I can tell have to be a specific size to get past that bug. I got the thing 4 months ago. If theyd own up to having given me a bad one so I could exchange I would. My current load has been trying to complete for at least 4 hours because itll simply fail. I have tried everything I can think of to get it to work right. The field tech tried to fix it, and couldnt (literally). They simply didnt send that person with the parts needed to repair it. Hes tried and even once said Wow thats... just broken. It takes me most of a day to do one load.

I bought the French door with bottom drawer pull out freezer & ice/wate
I bought the French door with bottom drawer pull out freezer & ice/water in door refrigerator Model# LFX28968D (& matching dishwasher) in July 2017... delivered mid Sept 2017. Spent $3200 before tax. Compressor failed May 2021... Fridge looks like operating normally but nothing frozen in freezer, no cooling in fridge and obviously no ice. Turns out my model# along with some other LG models have KNOWN COMPRESSOR FAILURE problems... But yet they kept producing them... And when compressor failed - they replaced with same (if still under warranty) and in a large number of cases-those replacements also failed! Remember-even though the compressor may be covered you still pay for time/ labour on repair visit. There was a class action lawsuit in USA that was settled and compensated everyone in Feb 2021-but this is only in USA not Canada. Personally I think they would have upheld their reputation had they done a recall... It’s not just a loss of a few hundred dollars... We’re talking thousands for the product, hundreds in frozen/refrigerated food loss and hundreds in repair labour fees (maybe multiple times)... I am fortunate to have purchased extended warranty from the business where I bought the fridge... which I don’t typically do. The repair company was great - came quickly and they already had this part stocked because they’ve been going to multiple calls with this issue. When it comes to the next new fridge I need to buy it will definitely NOT be an LG product... because when the compressor fails (once or more) Life’s NOT Good! I’m not sure this will actually get published but this is the link to the class action lawsuit details that includes all the model#’s. **

I took it home that night and enjoyed it for about four years and I had to sell it because of the size of my household was expanding. But we really dont have any negative effects with this brand. The refrigerator was a gem to own. Never had any problems with it not doing its job. Would buy another one without any hesitation. Always keep my food at a constant temperature. And keep my vegetables in the crisper crisp a little longer. The only problem I ever had was that it wasnt right for me in the realm of space. I asked him what that 35.00 was for and why did he come out without the part and he said, I charge 160, so are suppose to pay me 35.00 no matter what. 1. Why did he come here without the part? 2. This is not what they told me on the phone. 3. I called them to complain and they said exactly the same thing to me and then when I asked for a manager, the CS person said, we have to review your call and you have to pay him for ordering the part, and then he said you have to pay him for extra time and then he said something else. When I pointed out all the various things he said, he said, We have to say these things. He refused to put me through to a manager. He said, We will call you tomorrow and review your call. Which is nuts since he said the exact same thing to me and the service guy said something different. Also the CS rep said, Well 70-80% of the time the service tech brings the Magnetron. We noticed that one of exterior door panels has rust bleeding through the finish from top to bottom on just the one door. We purchased an extended warranty through Lowe’s. I was told it was cosmetic and therefore not covered. The warranty company suggested I contact LG to see if maybe they would do something to make it right. I called LG and explained the situation. The representative did not apologize or offer any kind of support. She just simply told me that it was a cosmetic issue and not their problem. I bought a Range in June 2013 and delivered in September 2013. In mid-December, leaving the chicken from the oven, I heard a crack. I found that the window was cracked. I contacted I contacted LG and Home depot and after several semanes they brought a company to examine the glass. A cracked window is aesthetic. The representative of the insurance company told me to wait, it completely crazy and it falls. What will you do without it if I use the self cleaning. Why pay an extended warranty? LG Why not admit that the glass has a manufacturing defect to change the door of an oven that has a defect? I have this range for only 15 months, and I used the oven only 8 times.

I spent $2000 on this front loading brand new LG wash machine. I bought this machine in July 2016 - delivered in September 2016 - power stopped in February. LG sent Precision Television (took a month) with a new brain. They put the new brain in - guess what - worked for about a week. No power again. I had electrician come out - nothing wrong with my power. Called LG again - sent me to Appliance Doctor. They do not call back. Had to write to LG again and complain. I wish for a Samsung like I had before. These people need to give me my money back.

Bought the 4.1 high efficiency top loader on 2/1/14 from Lowes and on 5/15/15 the washer broke. The codes that keep showing up is telling me the problem is with the drain hose. So Ive checked the hose, removed it, bought a new one and still the same code appears. So I took the back off to check if something is blocking the hose and nothing. When the clothes are washing the water will not drain it is aimed into my stationary tubs so I lay it on the floor and the water pours out but doesnt stop so the washer can fill up to actually clean the clothes. Called the 800 number to be told its out of warranty and I need to call a local repair man. Many places dont deal with LG repairs and the ones that do charge $100 just to look at the problem. A total waste of $800 on this item. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS WASHER.

Update on 06/11/2020: It is now June 11th and there still is no resolve even though my original review states there is a resolution in process. It is true that LG reached out to me as shown below however, I responded to them and I have heard nothing back. As far as Im concerned, this reaching out with a form e-mail is just more of the same. If I could give LG zero stars I would.Original Review: I have a top of the line washer that is still under warranty that will not run. I called LG on 5/30 and it was determined by them someone needed to come to my home. I was assigned to a second rate authorized agent that operates out of his home. I called this agent on 6/2 because I never heard from them during the 24-48 business hour time frame. (It was at this point that I did some research on who they were and found bad reviews for them.) To make a very long story short I was promised on 6/2 that a reputable company I found would be assigned to me and it would be 24-48 hours before Id hear. I found this company on LGs website as an authorized service agent and when I called them directly, they informed me they were available to come out the next day if LG would assign it to them. As I said, LG promised this would be done. When I heard nothing, I called them once again on 6/4. I spoke with a very nice rep (her name was Jess) who transferred me to executive services and I was told by that lady that the company I requested had no availability. I informed her that I had been told they would be able to come out the following day if LG would assign it to them and this is what was supposed to be being done. When I asked her to hold for a minute, I placed a call to the company I requested and as I began leaving a message as to what I had been told by LG, the LG executive services lady hung up on me. She was able to hear me leaving this message as I was using a separate phone line. So, this morning I called the authorized agent and told them what I had been told (that they had no availability) and I was told that simply was not true. So, I called LG back and this time I was told by the authorized agent I spoke with didnt have an open contract with them and they couldnt be assigned to me. Finally, the truth! In other words, they didnt have a negotiated rate with LG, much like it is with HMO Insurance. At any rate, he contacted the authorized to see if they would agree to make my repair with just an order # and they agreed they would, however, LG has to send them the amount they are willing to pay and if the authorized agent agrees to it they will do the repair and if not, we are back to square one. So, they have till Monday (6/8) to get back with me however, they will only be contacting me if its a go. If not, I have to call them back and start all over. I have a feeling I will be calling them back to start at square one. LIFE certainly isnt GOOD! I purchased this machine based on Consumer Reports testing and we were just about to buy an LG Smart TV and soundbar because they also have a very high rating. But there is no way we are going to based solely on the fact that they have horrible customer service!

LG Waveforce True Balance Washer large capacity - You CAN fit huge amounts of clothes in the washer. This is the only good thing. The BAD - no matter whether you wash one thing or a giant load, it will wash and wash and wash because the load becomes uneven and it is trying to even out the load. Eventually, almost every load, you will have to stand over the load to keep re-positioning the load manually until it finishes washing. If you have time to spend at least 20 minutes watching and monitoring almost every load so you can make it even, then this washer is for you.

Has been a good product overall. Some of the plastic parts have broken - cheaply made - but otherwise reliable. Has held up well over the last several years but at around 10 years starting to show some wear on the drum suspension from what I can tell. Guess most washers are only made to last at most 10 years. Then when a repairman came to see why it was shaking more than usual would probably be more prudent to buy a new washer than have the old one fixed.

LGs 2 year old dishwasher nearly burned my house down then they quietly clo
LGs 2 year old dishwasher nearly burned my house down then they quietly closed 6 cases I opened with 6 representatives to discuss the matter along with the damage their dangerous equipment caused. On the 6th attempt, I asked the representative if it was normal for the previous 5 cases to automatically be closed without any communications, she confirmed it was very odd and she never saw that happen before (all calls were recorded). Additionally, both racks rusted through after 2 years of use. LG agreed to send replacement racks since it was under warranty but they were never delivered. The LG dishwasher also created water damage under the counter, which resulted in a 6 crack under the counter. The root cause was the result of extremely poor engineering by LG. 1) Poorly designed seal which didnt use common design engineering knowledge, 2) an extremely poorly designed latch design, which places a hole in the latch an inch away from the poorly designed seal. The major safety hazard here is that the hole in the latch provides a direct path to the electrical switches in the door latch assembly. These issues are further discussed below.I originally provided LG with a video showing how their dishwasher shorted and burned at the LG dishwasher door latch switch. I discovered the melted door latch assembly and exposed shorted wires because the dishwasher smelled like it was burning. They clearly have design and quality issues. The risk is too high to ever consider an LG appliance again. I also have a 6 month old LG refrigerator and the compressor is occasionally making loud noises... more quality issues with another LG appliance. I also had the V20 for two years. It was a horrible phone. LG provided infrequent updates. So glad I returned to Samsung with the Note 9 and now the Note 20 Ultra... anyways...Here is the video showing the charred and melted door latch after it nearly burned my house down. I also included a second video to diagnose the issue, since there was no longer power to the unit. **. I bought their control board (potted PCBA) for about $200 and a door latch assembly with the correct switches. After installing the new board and latch assembly, I learned that the dishwasher seal suffered from excessive compression set due to a poor mechanical design by LG. Compression set is when the rubber remains compressed and doesnt return to its original shape. This typically occurs when rubber is compressed at more than 50%. The problem can be easily avoided by limiting seal compression to a maximum of 50%. This is basic design engineering knowledge but apparently, LG failed with that very trivial design requirement. In addition to a poorly designed seal, it turns out that my house almost burned down because of a really, really bad LG latch design where the latch opening created direct access to the electrical switches. This is a major safety hazard because the seal preventing water from leaking is about an inch away from the switches; this creates a direct path from the seal to the switches. Water was leaking through the top of the seal and directly through the latch assembly and into the switches. The distance from the seal to the switches is about 1-2 inches so if it leaks, it can cause a fire. The same issue was going to happen again if I continued using the dishwasher. At this point, its clear there is a safety hazard. I will likely start connecting with class action law firms to take further action, since LG continues to quietly close all cases I opened to discuss the matter. It is incredibly alarming that LG would learn of this information and choose to quietly silent my cases. It seems like LG doesnt care about the safety of their customers since they have not responded to my very troubling concerns. Im sure this will elicit a canned response from LG and a request to settle it privately. However, it is troubling that they wouldnt want to make this issue well-known and have a safety recall. My house almost burned down and they quietly closed 6 cases I opened. LGs behavior is beyond unethical. Its also beyond negligent. It seems like it approaches criminal. I can only imagine what other safety hazards they are covering up.There are so many horrible reviews and stories from so many people about LG. I had a bad experience with them last year, which led to me buying another refrigerator after less than 2 years of having the new refrigerator... which also has problems. At this point, maybe I should notify the major retailers of the need to have a safety recall. They may not care about their customers, but they will care about the cost and brand issues associated with a major safety recall... especially when they tried covering it up.

Bought French Door fridge with ice and water dispenser about 18 months ago. Had minor problems, but were able to solve them. Today, at 5pm when my service provider is gone until Monday morning, the refrigerator started to emit a burning rubber/Teflon-like smell along with a chemical smell that is sort of sweet. Hard to describe, but it has given me a headache. We pulled the fridge out from its niche and dusted the vents, which we do every couple of months anyway. The smell is still there but it seems to have abated because we opened the windows (its 20 degrees outside so now I have a headache AND I am freezing). According to the door panel, the temperature in both freezer and fridge is constant and not dropping or rising, so that is good.Does anyone have similar experiences and do you know what it might be? I was able to get hold of someone from the company I bought it from - I bought an extended warranty from them - and he said he had no idea what it could be and hes never heard of anything like that on an LG. Said that it might be dust or dog hair - NOPE. I am afraid to leave it plugged in when we go to bed. Anyone have any suggestions?

Bought the WT110C top load with the front panel. Had it for a year now. Beautiful machine. Too bad it takes days to do a load because the machine wont stay balanced. You can babysit this thing for hours trying to get it through a spin cycle. Doesnt matter how you load it, small loads, big ones, mixed clothes, bulky bedding, on and on. I have tried every mode, trick, time, spin mode combination there is and still the dreaded UE code comes on. Occasionally it will make it through a load and when it does the heavens part and the angels sing and I feel like a winner. If you like to spend hours doing laundry and praying over a washer, this is the machine for you. LG needs to stick to cell phones.

After reading the reviews here, I realize I am not alone. We bought our LG oven prior to buying the LG dishwasher.... a few years apart. Initially, I did not have any real problems with the stove/oven EXCEPT that the control panel cracked shortly after we got it, like a month. Fine, everything else was working. We let it go. BUT, now we are having serious issues & of course, they all came to the surface right before this holiday season. Just before Thanksgiving, the stovetop burner would not turn off. I thought it was just my husband being an idiot as he was rushing out of the house making a Jambalaya for the Giants’ pregame tailgate. However, it turns out he wasnt making it up.... It was hot for a long time and would not turn off. HS, hot surface, was the code but the burner was glowing bright red as if it were on HIGH. Took forever to clean that pan. My Le Creuset no less. Then after that, the oven started burning everything and cooking things funny. Burnt on the outside and mushy, undercooked on the inside. Last night, I tried again to use oven.... F-9 error came up. I turned it on and off. Yes, that was my solution in the moment. Now I see that the ovens with that specific warning are a SERIOUS FIRE HAZARD. The ovens catch fire from the malfunctions according to other reviewers. This is shocking and a real issue. I have 3 kids. Honestly, I cant believe Home Depot carries LG after reading all these other accounts of LG breaking down & just not working. So, no holiday cookies or turkey this holiday season b/c my oven that is LESS than 4 years old malfunctioned & is a piece of crap!!!!!!! No food memories with my kids that you daydream about, look forward to with holidays approaching. Nope! Hopes and dreams dashed by LG. And forget about getting a repairperson to come to work on LG. I called several places in the area, and they practically hung up on me when I said I had an LG. As the previous reviewers noted, repair must be done by certified LG contractor. Finally had Ultra Wiz (recommended through LG consumer support) came to take care of the LG dishwasher, which I stupidly bought not realizing LG sucks. The LG dishwasher is quite possibly the worst dishwasher I have ever had. Pretty much had problems with it after 6 months. Within 18 months now, I have had the dishwasher serviced 3x. Ridiculous. As I write this, I am on hold with LG begging for a refund for the stove but that will probably only happen when hell freezes over. Nope, as usual... They say I have to pay for repair and then my case will be presented for evaluation by said mystery higher up. So, I have to spend more money on junky LG product to even get consideration for a refund.... I would take half of what I spent on the stove at this point and put it towards a product that actually works. The only reason I am not stark raving mad is b/c we are about to renovate our current kitchen, and I am getting new appliances anyway. BUT STILL LG is horrid. Never again will I recommend, let alone, buy another single LG product. NEVER. I wish we could ban together and sue LG. Btw, the CEO Bon-Joon Koo is worth 840 million! No wonder he looks so happy in all the photos.

Our washer/dryer set (WM2016) was purchased from Sears about 4 years ago. My wife has always complained about the stench in the tub. Then last week, she was complaining about a smell (different). The next night, I came home from work and she said it was smelling again. When I got to the laundry room, the smoke alarm started sounding and I could not see the washer. After getting in and shutting it off, the drum was on fire which was quickly extinguished. I pulled the washer out and unplugged it. At that point, I needed to remove the top to make sure the fire was out, which it was. The next morning, I took the machine apart to see what happened to our 4-year-old washer. It seems that LG made a part inside of the plastic drum that is made from aluminum that was not treated by any means. It corroded, causing the drum to contact the outer drum. Had we not been home, we could have lost everything. I will not purchase anything LG produces from here out. When contacted, they could care less as we have your money!

I purchased an LG washer/dryer 6 years ago. I had problems with the washer from the first week. Six service calls were made within the first year to correct the problem of the washer stopping during the spin cycle. They kept coming to fix it until the warranty ran out. Then, they told me that its “too bad. They refused to take it back, although I asked for 2 years! I finally kicked it to the curb, and bought a Maytag. There are no bells and whistles, but it works fine. The dryer stopped drying completely during cycles after 3 years of owning it. No repair corrected the problem. I had to run a dryer cycle 2-3 times to dry the clothes. Now that doesnt even work. I cannot find an LG repairman since nobody wants to deal with this company. Im kicking it to the curb today, and going to buy a Maytag.

This is strictly a review. I purchased this washer (LG Washer WT110CW) as to the high standard that Consumer Reports gave it. I hate it. Your standard wash cycle is 57 minutes. There is a load for bulky, whites, etc. but some have a cycle up to 113 minutes. They do have a quick load of 35 minutes, but thats the least. Then it spins to the point of almost drying and your clothes by then are so wrinkled, that the dryer will not take them out and now I have to iron these items. It was over $600 with tax, so I just cant go buy another one. Way too much computerized options that take forever. I want my Kenmore back that gave me very little problems and a load was done in 30 minutes (no matter what it was).

I requested assistance with my washing machine on the 15th of March. Nobody pitched, on Friday, I phoned again and was informed that one technician was on leave. She would send somebody on Monday. Nobody came. I phoned again on the 22nd of March. She said she will ask the technician to come on Friday. That Thursday afternoon, I received an SMS saying that they would be at my house. Unfortunately, I was in town to collect my daughter and asked them to be there 16:10. When I got home at 16:00, they left a note saying they were at my house and I was not there. The next morning, I received an email saying that they would be coming on that Friday. I requested them to please come at 13:00 when I am home from school. The lady replied that the technician will be there before 13:00. I told her again that I am teaching and Im not allowed to just leave. I will notify her if I leave earlier, which I did. Then Louis came and told me the rubber was perished, that he does not have it in stock but will order it. It should be here the next week. I kindly requested him to notify me on the day that he will be coming, in the morning, to say whether he would be coming in the morning or afternoon. He promised me that he would phone me an hour before he comes. Today, he sent me an SMS 30 minutes before he stopped at my house. I had no idea that he was planning on coming today, so I was in the gym at the point when he sent an SMS. I did not hear the SMS as there is loud music in the gym. I am totally dissatisfied that he cannot respect me as a paying customer and have the decency to ensure that I did receive the message and that he cannot respect my wish to know in advance which day he will be coming. We are on holiday and I might have been at the beach with the kids, then I would also not here an SMS. I feel it is unfair of him to expect of me to sit and wait at the house until he one day decides he is coming to fix my machine. Today is the 26th of March and my machine is still not fixed.

I bought this machine because it was oversized to be able to fit in large loads of clothes and bedding. Every year I have had it, it has progressively had more problems than the last. The last three visits were about the water coming out of the drum and they did adjustments. First they told me I could use the top speed to get water out. The next breakdown they readjusted it and said I could not wash waterproof clothing or water resistant clothing and that it would break the machine. WTF? I bought it to wash my clothes not just some of my clothes, however I followed their advice washing winter coats and gloves and bedding protection outside my house. Now its broken again same issue. I had a regular size load of jeans in it. STUPID machine!!!! Updated on 5/17/2021: My previous review (Feb 2021) stated 3 repairs within 3 years. My gas oven (LRG 3193ST) will not maintain temperature. Taking 90-100 minutes to cook a pie (45 mins). We had a new oven replaced by Best Buy within 1 month of purchase (August purchase, November install 2017) because the display would not work when installed. We have had the ignitor replaced 2 times in the last 2 years (July 2020, Feb 2021) at our expense because they stated our warranty was expired when contacted first time.I received a call after my previous review (2/2021). The gentleman stated he would work with us either on replace or money back. But when I stated it was currently working due to repair the previous week, I was told he was unable to help us. The oven no longer maintains heat AGAIN only 3 months after repair. I tried to contact LG via phone and a recording state they were overwhelmed with calls to try again at another time. I tried a private message with no response. I AM A FRUSTRATED AND UNHAPPY CUSTOMER.Original review: We purchased a complete LG kitchen package August 2017. They were installed in November 2017 when kitchen was finished being remodeled. When turning on the oven the burners would work, but oven would not turn on. They stated it was the circuit board and a brand new oven was brought in and installed. In July 2020 the oven would not maintain temperature, at times not even turning on. Since it was not covered under warranty, we called a repair company to come in.They replaced the igniter. Starting in January we had the issue again. The oven would get up to heat then turn off leaving food completely uncooked. It would occasionally heat up and maintain the temperature but became so unreliable we rarely used it. Yesterday, February 2, I tried to cook dinner, the oven went up to temperature and then cooled down immediately. I turned off and tried again, the oven refused to heat at all. We now have another repair service call. It is getting expensive and the oven is so unreliable that I would not recommend an LG gas stove/oven.

We were told by LG to use the permanent press cycle as it uses the most water. In addition, select prewash, extra rinse and heavy duty (for amount of soil). All this take over 1.5 hours. The good part about LG is that they do try to present a customer service initiative to folks who post on social media. Sadly, it is a hollow effort. As anyone can read on this site, the response is either a really poor AI or worse, a person who types the same thing. Buying a $2,000+ refrigerator that makes excessive noise is unarguably a significant issue. LG claims this noise is normal, and I dispute that. Compressor noise that can be heard in other rooms is not normal. While LG did send a technician out to assess this issue, that was inconclusive, and the best LG can offer is to send another one out. But if the noise - the worst Ive experienced with any refrigerator for decades - is considered normal, why bother. When buying an LG refrigerator, be sure to buy the retailers extended warranty that allows a return after 3 (or whatever) attempts to repair.

This is a follow-up to a review written on January 22, 2013 regarding my LG washer. I did hear back from the resolutions department at LG who extended a prorated offer for my unrepairable washer. Whereas I feel the offer is fair, it is a year late in coming! The offer will allow me to purchase another machine. Trust me, it wont be another LG despite their good ratings on various websites. I am still out the hundreds of dollars in labor costs, plus the cost of having my clothes laundered at a local dry cleaners. As I said in my remarks on the 22nd, I do consider myself a pretty savvy shopper by checking both company and customer reviews. But this time was way off the mark. I hope and pray that my next choice in a washer, this time a front loader by Electrolux, is a wiser decision and that I wont be on a first name basis with my local repairman for a long, long time!

I bought an LG French refrigerator less than three years ago. It stopped working on August 18 and I was told by my service person that the circuit board was dead. He ordered one from LG, which has no parts distribution other than from Texas, and said that it would be sent through UPS 3-day delivery. It has been five days and I still havent received the circuit board--no indication when and if it will ever come. Our food had rotted away and I cannot buy more as I have no alternative refrigerator or freezer.LG has no customer service credibility and the quality of this product is non-existent. No appliance should be sold without an at least 5-year All-Inclusive guarantee on it! I fault the government consumer advocacy departments for not putting this into law. I will not purchase another LG product.
